• 0:28
Speaker 1: you want to talk about a relationship, especially at the
• 0:31
Speaker 1: time that we were filming it, I really needed a
• 0:33
Speaker 1: relationship like that. Granted, I found a woman of my dreams.
• 0:36
Speaker 1: She lives in the same house as me. She's downstairs
• 0:39
Speaker 1: right now watching our children. But when I think of
• 0:43
Speaker 1: Turk and Carla, I think of Carla and.
• 0:48
Speaker 3: You two Judy as like an x of mine.
• 0:51
Speaker 1: Even though it was just work, even though we were
• 0:52
Speaker 1: working together, It's like I have so many fond memories
• 0:56
Speaker 1: and I ruined it, and I spoiled it by the
• 0:59
Speaker 1: sh show going off the air, I mean, and then we.
• 1:04
Speaker 3: Were no longer together, and I don't see her anymore.
• 1:08
Speaker 2: When you see Judy, now, do you have this?

Speaker 3: What was I thinking? What did I do? How did
• 1:22
Speaker 3: I let that go?
• 1:23
Speaker 4: No, that's okay. Carla always knew it. Yeah, what do
• 1:27
Speaker 4: I have to do to get this guy to see
• 1:28
Speaker 4: what he has? He always he always, and she always
• 1:32
Speaker 4: said it right. Carl always says like if only when
• 1:35
Speaker 4: is he gonna love me the way he loves JD.
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Here's some stories I'm not sure we made about a
• 1:44

• 2:23
  Speaker 4: An incredible introduction.
• 2:24
Speaker 2: This is where we insert thunderous applause.
• 2:27
Speaker 1: I'm at a loss of words. You have no idea
• 2:29
Speaker 1: how how excited I am that you are here.
• 2:32
Speaker 4: I'm excited for you guys. I'm excited for the show.
• 2:35
Speaker 4: You guys got bumped up to two shows a week.
• 2:37
  Speaker 4: I can't even catch up.
• 2:38
Speaker 2: Well, we've been having fun. We never thought anyone would
• 2:40
Speaker 2: really listen. We thought it would be maybe our parents.
• 2:43
  Speaker 2: Donald's mom doesn't even listen.
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: To I don't think she's ever listened to No, I
• 2:46
Speaker 1: know she hasn't listened. You know how I know she
• 2:48
Speaker 1: hasn't listened. This is how I know she hasn't listened,
• 2:50
Speaker 1: because I'll be like, mom, and I've already said on
• 2:52
Speaker 1: the podcast, I don't think my mom ever listens to
• 2:54
Speaker 1: the show, Right, I was like, Mom, have you listened.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: To the podcast? She's like, yeah, I listened to it
• 2:58
  Speaker 3: all the time.
• 2:59
Speaker 1: And I know that she hasn't and she hasn't been Like,
• 3:01
Speaker 1: she hasn't called me and been like, I listened to
• 3:03
  Speaker 1: your podcast.
• 3:04
Speaker 3: She has no idea.
• 3:06
Speaker 4: Yeah, isn't that the story of the show?
• 3:07
  Speaker 3: You know?
• 3:08
Speaker 4: It was like congratulations, but nobody's watched the show until
• 3:11
Speaker 4: like twenty years later when now it's like a legend,
• 3:13
Speaker 4: right television folklore, where everybody's like, oh my god, you
• 3:18
Speaker 4: don't understand. I grew up on your show. And then
• 3:20
Speaker 4: it's like, wow, okay, right.
• 3:22
Speaker 3: When you hear that, it's like, well, how come y'all
• 3:24
Speaker 3: didn't show up in the ratings?
• 3:25
Speaker 2: Then, well they did in the beginning. I was just
• 3:27
Speaker 2: looking back. This is back in two thousand, when there
• 3:30
Speaker 2: was no streaming competition and people actually did watch the show.
• 3:33
Speaker 2: I mean, there were a lot of people watching the
• 3:34
Speaker 2: show in the beginning, especially, you know, we always joked
• 3:38
Speaker 2: that we barely survived, that we were always moving around
• 3:40
Speaker 2: timeslots and everything. But this was still like at a
• 3:42
Speaker 2: time when Joelle, you can correct me if I'm wrong,
• 3:45
Speaker 2: but I think like eleven million people or something we're
• 3:47
  Speaker 2: watching these episodes.
• 3:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, when we followed Yeah, when we followed Fraser, we
• 3:52
Speaker 1: were at eleven or ten million.
• 3:54
  Speaker 3: But when the.
• 3:55
Speaker 1: Season two or three, when we started following Friends, we
• 3:59
Speaker 1: at one point we we had like twenty seven million
• 4:01
Speaker 1: people watching our show.
• 4:02
Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's just so funny. You never
• 4:03
Speaker 2: get no one ever gets numbers like that anymore. Back
• 4:06
Speaker 2: in two thousand and one, you could have eleven million
• 4:08
Speaker 2: people watch your TV show.
• 4:09
Speaker 4: Well, because there were only three television networks right there
• 4:12
Speaker 4: was ABC, NBCCBS and like A Fox and Fox and
• 4:16
Speaker 4: then show Time in HBO. So there were only a
• 4:19
Speaker 4: certain number of shows that you can watch. And now,
• 4:22
Speaker 4: you know, like we were saying before, people are actually
• 4:25
Speaker 4: coming to us and texting us and through social media
• 4:28
Speaker 4: letting us know that we, particularly in these times, that
• 4:32
Speaker 4: our show literally changed their lives and influence and affected
• 4:36
Speaker 4: the choices that they made for a living. And that's
• 4:41
  Speaker 4: really really moving.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: So yeah, you're absolutely right. It feels so warm and
• 4:46
Speaker 1: fuzzy inside when you know, you read your comments and
• 4:49
Speaker 1: you post a picture of your kids and stuff like that,
• 4:51
Speaker 1: and they're like that, don't look like Carlo.
• 4:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, Donald always gets heras gets harassed.
• 5:00
Speaker 3: Look like Carla had them kids.
• 5:01
Speaker 1: That's why I always I'm always like wow that the
• 5:04
Speaker 1: show hits so hard and so many people that when
• 5:08
Speaker 1: I post pictures of my family or I post pictures,
• 5:11
Speaker 1: you know, of us at a holiday, and you know,
• 5:14
Speaker 1: during holiday, the first thing that comes up that don't
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: look like Carlo.
• 5:20
Speaker 4: I was working when I started working in out of state,
• 5:23
Speaker 4: which is right after scrubs were all chows are being
• 5:26
Speaker 4: shot like in Vancouver or Atlanta or in New Orleans.
• 5:34
Speaker 2: So Judy wait, I was gonna say, Donald, if you
• 5:36
Speaker 2: don't mind, and Judy, we've we've been asking everyone that
• 5:40
Speaker 2: comes on the show, all the cast members, their their
• 5:43
Speaker 2: audition story, because I think listeners are I imagine interested
• 5:47
Speaker 2: in that. I hope they're interested in that, but maybe
• 5:50
  Speaker 2: I don't really know yours. I know Donald Sarah's. So
• 5:52
Speaker 2: I'd love to hear your story about how the script
• 5:56
Speaker 2: initially came to you and what your audition process was.
• 5:58
Speaker 4: Like in New York. You know, I was working, I
• 6:01
Speaker 4: had done oh gosh, I don't know i'd done like
• 6:04
Speaker 4: this was must have been like my seventh pilot audition.
• 6:07
Speaker 4: I've done all about six pilots before this that never
• 6:12
Speaker 4: went that never got picked up. So by the time
• 6:15
Speaker 4: I got to this one, I was just like, you know,
• 6:18
Speaker 4: ready for it not to go as well. But it
• 6:20
Speaker 4: was such a good pilot. And Carla had these two
• 6:23
Speaker 4: great monologues in the in the pilot one year where
• 6:26
Speaker 4: I go off right and one where I go off
• 6:29
Speaker 4: on Doctor Cox. And I was, you know, I was
• 6:33
Speaker 4: part of a theater company and I was just so
• 6:35
Speaker 4: prepared to just nail it and walk out and get it.
• 6:37
Speaker 4: And I got it. You know, you get a flee
• 6:38
Speaker 4: free flight to LA you had to say, in a
• 6:41
Speaker 4: fancy hotel. But the most important thing was to just
• 6:44
Speaker 4: like work on it really hard and go get out
• 6:47
Speaker 4: of the room feeling good.
• 6:48
Speaker 3: Wait, you weren't living in You weren't living in Los Angeles?
• 6:51
Speaker 4: No, No, I was in New York. I was living
• 6:53
  Speaker 4: in New York.
• 6:54
Speaker 2: Was your first audition at thirty Rock or something for Yeah.
• 6:58
Speaker 4: My first edition was at thirty Rock, and I did
• 7:01
Speaker 4: really well. And all I just kept getting was this
• 7:04
Speaker 4: feedback from my manager, Gene Fox.
• 7:06
Speaker 2: Your manager was yes, yes, not this, not doing this,
• 7:10
Speaker 2: but you were not at this time. But yes, But
• 7:13
Speaker 2: we did have the same manager back in the day.
• 7:14
Speaker 4: Yet when we were younger, right, because she mostly represented
• 7:17
Speaker 4: kids and I always played really young and earlier in
• 7:20
Speaker 4: my career. But I remember being really excited to get
• 7:23
Speaker 4: this flight to LA and staying in a fancy hotel
• 7:25
Speaker 4: and all this stuff. And I remember somebody giving me
• 7:29
Speaker 4: a note to tell its like, before you start your scene,
• 7:33
Speaker 4: just take his breath and look at everybody in the room,
• 7:36
Speaker 4: and then start right.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: So that's good advice.
• 7:41
Speaker 4: Hey, And I really did, and I felt and they
• 7:44
Speaker 4: were like, think three other women?
• 7:46
Speaker 2: Did you know them anyway?
• 7:48
Speaker 4: I didn't know anybody. I just remember who was the
• 7:50
Speaker 4: casting director for that. I knew the casting director because
• 7:52
Speaker 4: I auditioned them all the time. And I didn't even
• 7:55
Speaker 4: know any of the actresses, which was strange because all
• 7:57
Speaker 4: Latina actressesn't know each other. And I think I was
• 8:00
Speaker 4: the only one from La who was flown in and
• 8:03
Speaker 4: I felt like I had a really good chance, but
• 8:04
Speaker 4: I didn't attach myself to anything.
• 8:07
Speaker 2: What scenes did you do? Do you remember what scenes
• 8:09
Speaker 2: you did from the pilot?
• 8:11
Speaker 4: All the scenes that Carla had, which was like the
• 8:14
Speaker 4: one where I go he hits on me and the
• 8:16
Speaker 4: one to doctor Cox. I don't remember any of this stuff.
• 8:20
  Speaker 2: Don't worry. Don't worry, Donald, I don't remember anything either.
• 8:23
Speaker 4: I watched this episode that we're talking about twice, yes,
• 8:26
Speaker 4: same here, because I remember what I remember. It is
• 8:28
Speaker 4: like in the first season, I had this one big,
• 8:31
Speaker 4: big episode with you where we go to see the
• 8:34
Speaker 4: photography exhibit that's called my nickname, and I was sure
• 8:37
Speaker 4: that that's what we were going to talk about today. Like,
• 8:39
Speaker 4: wait a minute, we're not doing my nickname.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: No no one time one day duty will get more
• 8:44
Speaker 2: organized than like book people for the times they have
• 8:47
Speaker 2: their big episode. But I think you have a really
• 8:49
Speaker 2: nice arc in this episode.
• 8:50
  Speaker 4: I do, and that's why I wanted. I was like,
• 8:51
Speaker 4: this is really great. I'm excited to talk about it.
• 8:54
Speaker 2: We just wanted to have you on.
• 8:55
Speaker 4: But I remember taking that moment and looking at all
• 8:59
Speaker 4: these people. It's like in my head, I was like, fuck,
• 9:01
Speaker 4: there's a lot of people in here. And I looked
• 9:03
Speaker 4: at all of them. I was like, no pressure, right,
• 9:05
Speaker 4: and they just fell out laughing, and Bill the loudest,
• 9:09
Speaker 4: and I felt really relaxed and I just they laughed
• 9:11
Speaker 4: at every single thing I did. And I was like,
• 9:13
Speaker 4: I'm fine, and I walked to the elevator, and before
• 9:16
Speaker 4: I got to the elevator, the casting and notes, Oh,
• 9:19
Speaker 4: I wanted to tell you something. Hold on a second.
• 9:21
Speaker 4: Before they called the other girl in, I was like,
• 9:23
Speaker 4: you're good. I was like, oh, oh shit.
• 9:28
Speaker 2: Like when you like as do you remember if it
• 9:30
Speaker 2: was Brett or Debbie one of those Yeah, And she
• 9:33
  Speaker 2: took you aside.
• 9:34
Speaker 4: She took me aside. At the elevator. I was like, amaze,
• 9:36
Speaker 4: you were really good, and I said, oh, I wasn't
• 9:38
Speaker 4: sure what that meant, but I was like and by
• 9:40
Speaker 4: the time I got to the airport, I was like,
• 9:42
  Speaker 4: you got it.
• 9:43
Speaker 3: Oh wow, that's so awesome.
• 9:45
  Speaker 4: Oh my god.
• 9:47
Speaker 3: So on your way back, how much did you drink
• 9:51
  Speaker 3: in celebration?
• 9:53
Speaker 4: I was like, They were like, do you want a
• 9:55
Speaker 4: champagne or orange juice? Or I was like can I
• 9:58
Speaker 4: have them both? In one glance? It's like most. I
• 10:02
Speaker 4: was like, yeah, that's it, give me one of those.
• 10:05
Speaker 4: And I was like, you want to know almost like yeah,
• 10:07
Speaker 4: I read another one.
• 10:08
Speaker 3: Oh man, that's amazing.
• 10:11
Speaker 2: And then so you had to go back to well,
• 10:13
Speaker 2: it was just a pilot, so I guess you you
• 10:15
Speaker 2: weren't planning on moving. You just kind of came out
• 10:17
Speaker 2: for the pilot, then came out.
• 10:18
Speaker 4: Came out for the pilot, and then you know, by
• 10:19
Speaker 4: the time we got picked up.
• 10:20
Speaker 3: Okay, so do you remember upfront at all?
• 10:25
  Speaker 4: I got Didn't I get hammered?
• 10:27
Speaker 3: That's what I'm asking We all did, but that's what
• 10:29
  Speaker 3: I'm asking.
• 10:30
Speaker 4: Do I remember I remember being on a swing.
• 10:36
Speaker 2: Donald told this story where you were on but it
• 10:38
Speaker 2: was more than a swing.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: You guys, it was like a trapeze.
• 10:41
Speaker 2: For some reason, this bar we were in had a
• 10:42
Speaker 2: trapeze and it it's really not safe.
• 10:44
Speaker 4: I wanted to swing, and my and my ex husband
• 10:48
Speaker 4: had to take me home. Yes, I remember who was
• 10:51
Speaker 4: the executive, tall guy and he he had a snot
• 10:56
Speaker 4: on his nose and I was like, you got a
• 10:58
Speaker 4: booger and you were like And Bill was so impressed
• 11:03
Speaker 4: and was like, You're the only person I know who
• 11:05
Speaker 4: would tell, like the head of a network that he
• 11:07
Speaker 4: has boogers. I was like, but what are you what
• 11:11
Speaker 4: do you want to know?
• 11:13
Speaker 2: I loved that on one side of that party, Donald's
• 11:15
Speaker 2: giving Jeff Zucker a noogie. On the other side of
• 11:17
Speaker 2: the party, you're telling another executive he has a booger
• 11:19
Speaker 2: on his nose. And Bill had told us all like, guys,
• 11:23
Speaker 2: do not get too drunk at this party. It's gonna
• 11:25
Speaker 2: be important executives here.
• 11:27
Speaker 4: We got wasted. Sarrow was wasted.
• 11:31
Speaker 2: Do you remember her famous phrase, Judy At that party,
• 11:34
  Speaker 2: She's she walked.
• 11:34
Speaker 3: Up to had a Cosmopolitan.
• 11:38
  Speaker 4: I'm so good.
• 11:39
Speaker 3: I was like child.
• 11:42
Speaker 2: She was. She was walking sideways. I just remember she
• 11:46
Speaker 2: was like on a diagonal.
• 11:48
Speaker 4: I told her, I was like, I like martinis. You
• 11:52
Speaker 4: know my friend Richie Petricelli says about Martini's martinis are
• 11:56
Speaker 4: like tits, one's not enough, threes too many.
• 12:03
Speaker 2: I want that on a T shirt. What was your
• 12:08
Speaker 2: first impression of meeting Donald because you knew he was
• 12:11
Speaker 2: going to be your your love interest? And then I
• 12:13
Speaker 2: did you meet him at the table read thing that
• 12:15
Speaker 2: we did at Bill's house? Did I go to the
• 12:17
Speaker 2: table maybe because maybe because you flew in, maybe because
• 12:21
Speaker 2: I didn't go? So where did you meet Donald?
• 12:23
Speaker 3: On set? I met him on set that I told
• 12:26
Speaker 3: you this story, dude, like.
• 12:27
Speaker 2: I want to hear it from Judy.
• 12:29
Speaker 3: Okay, sorry that we had that makeout scene.
• 12:32
Speaker 4: We had the makeout scene, right, and.
• 12:34
Speaker 3: You had smoked cigarettes right before.
• 12:35
Speaker 2: Donald's already complained that you were smoking.
• 12:37
Speaker 4: Yes, and of course, okay.
• 12:39
Speaker 1: But since then we smoked so many cigarettes together, Oh
• 12:42
  Speaker 1: my gosh.
• 12:43
Speaker 4: But what I do remember is that we had that
• 12:45
Speaker 4: makeout scene and I was completely I felt Donald is Donald.
• 12:49
Speaker 4: What you see is what you get. He's the sweetest, kindest, relaxed,
• 12:54
Speaker 4: but very professional guy, right, and I felt very comfortable
• 12:57
Speaker 4: with Donald. And we had this makeout scene and I
• 13:00
Speaker 4: don't think that I've ever had a kissing scene like
• 13:04
Speaker 4: that before, where you know, we're just like making out
• 13:07
Speaker 4: and I stuck my tongue in his mouth.
• 13:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, And then he went and then he went
• 13:12
Speaker 2: everybody who did that a lot? And then and then
• 13:15
Speaker 2: Donald started with Judy. Didn't Donald start walking around bragging
• 13:18
Speaker 2: everyone like I got.
• 13:19
Speaker 4: But the first time I did it the first time.
• 13:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, right away, right immediately.
• 13:24
Speaker 5: But he told like the whole fucking and then he
• 13:28
Speaker 5: ruined it for nine years.
• 13:29
Speaker 4: But the whole time, the rest of it, the rest, No,
• 13:32
Speaker 4: but because I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed. This motherfucker goes,
• 13:36
Speaker 4: it goes. Yo, you stuck your tongue in my mouth.
• 13:41
  Speaker 4: I wasn't supposed to do that. I didn't know.
• 13:47
Speaker 2: So Donald, you in one moment, you have this beautiful woman,
• 13:51
Speaker 2: she's giving you the first on screen kiss, and then
• 13:55
Speaker 2: you blab about it and then you never got tongue again,
• 13:58
  Speaker 2: did you.
• 13:58
Speaker 1: Well, No, she did it a couple of times. Hold on,
• 14:00
Speaker 1: now you did it, Yeah you did. I could I
• 14:03
Speaker 1: could show you the episode because I remember one episode
• 14:06
Speaker 1: we're making out and the girl I was dating at
• 14:09
Speaker 1: the time was like, well, this is awkward, and I was.
• 14:14
Speaker 1: And it was like the scene where we're supposed to
• 14:15
Speaker 1: be making out, it's supposed to be a wet, sloppery
• 14:17
Speaker 1: kiss and stuff like that. And JD even says something
• 14:20
Speaker 1: about that about our making.
• 14:22
Speaker 3: Out because it's scripted, right, But you.
• 14:26
Speaker 2: Know what I said, that wasn't.
• 14:29
Speaker 1: Mature slower than then girls do. It's just that simple
• 14:33
  Speaker 1: women mature faster.
• 14:35
Speaker 2: I just remember thinking like, I would never brat it out.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: I remember thinking, I remember thinking like that's not going
• 14:41
Speaker 2: to end well, Donald, No, it did.
• 14:43
Speaker 4: It didn't end well immediately. No, But I was really
• 14:47
Speaker 4: embarrassed about it because it just it was. It was
• 14:50
  Speaker 4: just instinctual.
• 14:51
Speaker 2: I was like, okay, so before Donald, before Donald ruined it,
• 14:56
Speaker 2: it was a good kiss. I imagine a kiss.
• 14:59
  Speaker 4: I'm a great kid.
• 15:00
Speaker 2: Oh shit, Donald, you fucked up.
• 15:03
Speaker 3: I did fuck up. I fucked up.
• 15:06
Speaker 2: This many years later, you're still listen.
• 15:08
Speaker 1: Like I said, I look back at it now, like
• 15:10
Speaker 1: what was I thinking?
• 15:11
  Speaker 4: Dude?
• 15:12
  Speaker 3: What a dummy?
• 15:13
Speaker 4: Listen. The whole crew was was like what are you thinking?
• 15:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's like that thing in Scrubs where they
• 15:20
Speaker 2: get the opera singer who goes missed.
• 15:22
Speaker 1: It that Kevin Sorbo, That Kevin Sorbo story.
• 15:30
Speaker 3: Have you heard that?
• 15:32
Speaker 4: Which one is that one?
• 15:33
Speaker 1: You know how they put in parentheses the direction that
• 15:36
Speaker 1: you're supposed to do, and then underneath it usually.
• 15:39
Speaker 2: Is the line, yeah, the parenthetical.
• 15:41
Speaker 3: Right, And in that it said disappointed.
• 15:45
Speaker 1: That was like the last thing underneath the line that
• 15:48
Speaker 1: he has, so like the line was something like, this
• 15:49
Speaker 1: isn't my world, this isn't my place. And then in
• 15:53
Speaker 1: that thing it says it says disappointed. So he's supposed
• 15:56
Speaker 1: to say all of this disappointed, and he it's trying
• 16:00
Speaker 1: to figure out a way to muster up the disappointment.
• 16:02
Speaker 1: Now this is all folklore, this is all this this
• 16:05
Speaker 1: might not be true, and he trying to figure it
• 16:07
Speaker 1: out a way to mustard up. He goes disappointed.
• 16:17
Speaker 2: I love those Hollywood stories where you hear something that
• 16:19
Speaker 2: some actors said, you have no idea if it's true
• 16:21
Speaker 2: or not, but they're they're funny to hear. I know
• 16:23
Speaker 2: one with Christina Ricci. Apparently she was I have no again,
• 16:27
Speaker 2: I have no idea this is true, but I heard
• 16:28
Speaker 2: this story that she was getting all this direction. The
• 16:30
Speaker 2: director was going into all this elaborate stuff and She
• 16:32
Speaker 2: looked at him and said, look more happy or more
• 16:34
Speaker 2: sad the end of the day, right, just which, when
• 16:38
Speaker 2: you think about it, is pretty great. It was pretty
• 16:39
Speaker 2: Let's just just break it all down. Do you want
• 16:41
Speaker 2: it more happy or do you want it more sad?
• 16:44
Speaker 4: That's very Wednesday of her.
• 16:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to hear your elaborate. Your direction's
• 16:49
Speaker 2: so confusing. Do you want me happier or sader.
• 16:54
Speaker 4: By then other day? That's like very Carla and Turk,
• 16:56
Speaker 4: isn't it. It's like, what are you doing? You just
• 16:59
Speaker 4: ruined it for the rest of our relationship.
• 17:01
Speaker 2: Well, you were such a you two had such a
• 17:02
Speaker 2: great relationship on the show, and I think so many
• 17:05
Speaker 2: people were genuinely invested in you too, which is just
• 17:08
Speaker 2: such a testament to how how good your chemistry was
• 17:11
Speaker 2: and of course how good both of your performances were.
• 17:13
Speaker 1: But just so so cute also like just so like
• 17:18
Speaker 1: Carla and Turk together was like, that's definite relationship goals
• 17:22
Speaker 1: for me. Like if my relationship was like that, would
• 17:25
Speaker 1: you know? It's so much so that it kind of
• 17:28
Speaker 1: is like that when you when you really think about it,
• 17:30
Speaker 1: you know, my wife is the boss of this.
• 17:34
Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
• 17:35
Speaker 1: Carler was the boss, you know what I mean, all
• 17:38
Speaker 1: the way up into how she made the guy ask
• 17:41
Speaker 1: her out, you know what I mean. She got him
• 17:44
Speaker 1: to the point where he was she offered sex to him,
• 17:46
Speaker 1: and he declined, you know what I mean. He declined
• 17:50
Speaker 1: because he was afraid to ruin the relationship because he
• 17:55
Speaker 1: saw where it was going, you know what I mean.
• 17:56
Speaker 4: And that's just so particularly in this episode where where
• 18:00
Speaker 4: Carla fucks up so bad and she goes to Turk
• 18:04
Speaker 4: where he's exemplary more that where Carla talks a lot
• 18:08
Speaker 4: and she's just strong, but she falls apart and she
• 18:12
Speaker 4: goes to him and she sees what he does, you know,
• 18:15
Speaker 4: he walks the walk, and she just does what he
• 18:16
Speaker 4: does at the end of the day, you know, and
• 18:19
Speaker 4: she sees, she sees how strong Turk is as well,
• 18:23
Speaker 4: and she goes by his example.
• 18:26
Speaker 2: Judy, do you think that you I mean, I'm sure
• 18:28
Speaker 2: this has come up for you. I hear it all
• 18:29
Speaker 2: the time that you inspired a lot of people to
• 18:32
Speaker 2: become nurses, which must be a pretty incredible thing, because
• 18:36
Speaker 2: I just I when I watch the show, especially now
• 18:38
Speaker 2: back and having some experience in hospitals, with sick family members.
• 18:42
Speaker 2: I'm so aware of the power of the nurses and
• 18:44
Speaker 2: how the nurses are running the whole show. And to me,
• 18:47
Speaker 2: when I rewatched this, Carla was just just the exemplar
• 18:51
Speaker 2: of the most amazing nurse there ever was. And I
• 18:54
Speaker 2: just wonder what your experience of people, men and women
• 18:57
Speaker 2: coming up to you and saying you may have inspired
• 18:59
  Speaker 2: them to.
• 18:59
  Speaker 4: Go I think that's true. Well, I don't know that
• 19:03
Speaker 4: that hat. I think that people who may have been
• 19:04
Speaker 4: considering a career in medicine, they got that extra push
• 19:08
Speaker 4: from seeing a character like Carla and a Loma and
• 19:12
Speaker 4: a show like Scrubs. Do you know what I mean?
• 19:15
Speaker 4: And the strength of someone like that and the true
• 19:18
Speaker 4: power of those of those people in that profession, do
• 19:22
Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Where people find, you know,
• 19:24
Speaker 4: the glory in the doctors, for example, that they don't
• 19:30
Speaker 4: know that you cannot have those doctors without the nurses.
• 19:32
Speaker 4: I remember having that conversation with Bill one time where
• 19:35
Speaker 4: he wanted to explore the idea of Carla wanting to
• 19:39
Speaker 4: pursue a career as a doctor, and I was like, no,
• 19:43
Speaker 4: I wasn't interested in that, because I think Carla loves
• 19:46
Speaker 4: being a nurse and I love you know, that's where
• 19:49
Speaker 4: her strength and her power and her vanity and her
• 19:51
Speaker 4: ego live. And I think that she's really okay with that,
• 19:55
Speaker 4: do you know what I mean? And the dynamics of
• 19:57
Speaker 4: the relationships with every with her and everyone in the
• 20:00
Speaker 4: hospital our strongest there, you know what I mean, and
• 20:04
Speaker 4: that there's nothing wrong with that, and her viewing audience.
• 20:07
Speaker 4: And for me as a Latina, all these Latinas find
• 20:10
Speaker 4: strength and well, there's a lot of a huge force
• 20:15
Speaker 4: with people and women and women of color in particular
• 20:19
Speaker 4: and particularly at that time.
• 20:21
Speaker 3: I wanted to segue you great segue into this episode.
• 20:25
  Speaker 3: Actually it is.
• 20:26
Speaker 2: And also I just want to point out Joel because
• 20:28
Speaker 2: she's such a good producer, sent me this statement, sent
• 20:32
Speaker 2: us this. The Annenberg Inclusion Initiative at the University of
• 20:35
Speaker 2: Southern California released a study in twenty nineteen that said,
• 20:39
Speaker 2: quote Latino actors represented only three percent of lead or
• 20:43
Speaker 2: co lead roles in top performing movies during the last
• 20:47
Speaker 2: twelve years. That this is movies, not TV, but it's
• 20:49
Speaker 2: the same thing. What impression do you think Carla left
• 20:52
Speaker 2: on your community? Which I thought was a really smart
• 20:55
Speaker 2: question that I have to give Joelle a credit for
• 20:57
  Speaker 2: I think.
• 20:57
Speaker 4: It left a huge impression. I get again, I get
• 21:00
Speaker 4: it all the time, and I think people built on it.
• 21:03
Speaker 4: A lot of roles were designed on Carla as a result,
• 21:08
Speaker 4: you know, a lot of strong, sassy roles as a
• 21:11
  Speaker 4: result of that.
• 21:13
  Speaker 2: But not, I mean, you're you weren't a caricature in
• 21:15
Speaker 2: any sense, not in any sense. I thought it was
• 21:18
Speaker 2: a testament to the writing, absolutely.
• 21:20
Speaker 4: Obviously, And it's and I think it's been challenging to
• 21:23
Speaker 4: find characters and roles that have been as strong and
• 21:28
Speaker 4: as memorable since. You know, I know, it's hard for
• 21:31
Speaker 4: me to find roles that have been as strong and
• 21:33
Speaker 4: as memorable since and and for me to find you,
• 21:35
Speaker 4: just like you were talking and that and that, uh,
• 21:38
Speaker 4: the podcast that I was listening with you guys and Bill.
• 21:42
Speaker 4: People want like a phase on type of character, you know,
• 21:46
Speaker 4: built on because that's the power and the force of
• 21:49
Speaker 4: a very well written, very well acted show where you're
• 21:52
Speaker 4: trying to just build on the kind of actor that
• 21:55
Speaker 4: you are, but move past that is a real challenge
• 21:58
Speaker 4: because it's hard to find written roles. But yeah, and
• 22:03
Speaker 4: the discussions and the arguments of the debates that you
• 22:05
Speaker 4: have with the writers to keep it real and keep
• 22:08
Speaker 4: it honest, keep it flawed, keep it complicated, which is
• 22:12
Speaker 4: all that Bill and the writers responded to really honestly,
• 22:17
Speaker 4: you know. And Bill responded to when I said, yeah,
• 22:19
Speaker 4: let's keep her a nurse, because you know, that's where
• 22:22
Speaker 4: the challenge is in a hospital environment living.
• 22:24
Speaker 2: And he was really respectful of your input, I think,
• 22:26
Speaker 2: And all right, we're gonna go to commercial because that'shere
• 22:30
Speaker 2: we're supposed to do.
• 22:31
Speaker 3: Donald. I thought we were going to go into the episode.
• 22:33
Speaker 2: We're going to but I'm seeing a chat from this producer.
• 22:37
Speaker 2: This is like the longest do you ever look at
• 22:39
Speaker 2: the chat thsposed talking about the show though I know, bro,
• 22:42
Speaker 2: but listen, Judy is entertaining as hell, and.
• 22:45
Speaker 3: We're gonna go. I'm not saying it's her fault.
• 22:48
Speaker 2: Why are you yelling at all of us? It feels
• 22:49
  Speaker 2: like you're yelling.
• 22:50
Speaker 3: No one's yelling. I'm just saying the formats all fucked up.
• 22:53
Speaker 3: We'll be right back.
• 23:00
Speaker 2: We're stricken iced tea, No Judy.
• 23:02
  Speaker 6: Donald.
• 23:03
  Speaker 2: I'm a little worried because we're only we're only like
• 23:05
Speaker 2: eight episodes in and Donald has taken the day.
• 23:08
Speaker 3: Drinking only on shoot days. Only on shoot days.
• 23:11
Speaker 2: I have a feeling by the time we get to
• 23:13
Speaker 2: like episode twenty, he's gonna be the camera like and
• 23:15
  Speaker 2: another thing.
• 23:16
Speaker 4: He's gonna be screaming. By episode eight, well, they'll be
• 23:20
  Speaker 4: like what.
• 23:23
Speaker 2: His shirt will be off? His shirt will be off.
• 23:26
Speaker 2: Do you remember that time, Judy, we were all at
• 23:28
Speaker 2: a bar like, Oh no, I won't tell the whole story.
• 23:31
Speaker 2: I won't tell the whole story, but all I know
• 23:33
Speaker 2: is that Donald got drunk enough so that his shirt
• 23:34
Speaker 2: was off in the bar.
• 23:35
Speaker 3: And I just remember saying ice bar too.
• 23:37
  Speaker 1: It was an ice bar, so it's it's there's a
• 23:40
Speaker 1: room where you go in and it's nothing but ice.
• 23:42
Speaker 3: And I went in that room shirtless and drank.
• 23:45
Speaker 2: No, but you were walking around the park. I mean,
• 23:47
Speaker 2: this was just hilarious now I think about it was.
• 23:49
Speaker 2: It was our whole cast and crew, and we were
• 23:51
Speaker 2: all partying. I don't know if it was a wrap
• 23:53
Speaker 2: thing or whatever, but all of a sudden I look
• 23:55
Speaker 2: over and Donald was drunk enough so that he was
• 23:57
Speaker 2: like having animated discus Rushians without his shirt on in
• 24:02
  Speaker 2: the bar.
• 24:04
Speaker 4: The fact that you remember that.
• 24:07
Speaker 1: Because I did, I did some stupid things, and my
• 24:10
Speaker 1: then girlfriend now wife showed up to surprise me, and
• 24:14
Speaker 1: I was acting a fool at the bar.
• 24:18
  Speaker 4: Evidence.
• 24:19
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's such a good story. But I don't know.
• 24:21
  Speaker 3: If I don't know, I don't know. If I don't know,
• 24:23
  Speaker 3: can he asked.
• 24:23
Speaker 2: Casey if we can have permission Mabel tail on a
• 24:25
  Speaker 2: later episode.
• 24:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll ask her.
• 24:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, But in the meantime, just know that Donald got
• 24:29
Speaker 2: in trouble and also had his shirt off.
• 24:32
Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, do you remember the time Donald got
• 24:35
Speaker 4: in trouble. That's like every.
• 24:37
  Speaker 3: That's a lot that happened a lot.
• 24:38
Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. Every every episode he got in
• 24:41
Speaker 4: trouble and took off Oh my god, said part of clothing.
• 24:45
Speaker 2: Yeah. And when Donald would yeah, he did his clothes off.
• 24:47
Speaker 2: And then if he got to the next level drunk,
• 24:48
Speaker 2: he'd leave angrily, and like sometimes he'd leave angrily with
• 24:51
  Speaker 2: no shirt on.
• 24:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, right, yo, dude, that my god.
• 24:56
Speaker 4: That's just Donald the newtist.
• 24:58
Speaker 2: You need to show right, he wants will home so mad.
• 25:00
Speaker 2: We won't go into this story.
• 25:02
Speaker 3: We won't go in this is that he walked.
• 25:04
Speaker 2: We live. We both lived at the time in the
• 25:06
Speaker 2: Hollywood Hills and he once walked home, walked home, no
• 25:11
  Speaker 2: shirt on.
• 25:12
Speaker 3: From the brea and melrose up.
• 25:14
Speaker 2: Into the Hollywood Hills, like there's no sidewalks, Like people
• 25:17
Speaker 2: don't walk where Donald. This is where Donald walked and
• 25:20
Speaker 2: he was powerwalking, like arms flying, mad, naked.
• 25:26
Speaker 1: Naked, but I was mad, Yeah, like that, you're really mad. Yeah,
• 25:30
  Speaker 1: it's a long story.
• 25:31
Speaker 2: That's a long story. Some of these stories we have
• 25:33
Speaker 2: to censor. Should we get into the.
• 25:35
Speaker 3: Episode, we should totally get into the.
• 25:37
Speaker 2: I just wanted to say the first thing that I noticed,
• 25:39
Speaker 2: and I is that Donald CPR at forty eight seconds
• 25:43
Speaker 2: is I would not bring anyone back to life, but
• 25:45
Speaker 2: I just want to say something.
• 25:46
Speaker 3: It was a real human being. I'm not allowed you,
• 25:50
  Speaker 3: I know.
• 25:50
Speaker 2: I want to tell the audience that it's a tricky
• 25:52
Speaker 2: thing to give fake CPR because if you do CPR
• 25:55
Speaker 2: for real, you can kill someone. So when you watch
• 25:58
Speaker 2: horrible TV and movie CPR, it sometimes looked like this.
• 26:02
Speaker 2: But I just wanted to say that I thought you
• 26:03
Speaker 2: did a particularly bad job.
• 26:05
Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you very much, thank you.
• 26:11
Speaker 4: It wasn't the real JD there at the time on
• 26:14
Speaker 4: set to approve the favorite.
• 26:16
Speaker 2: I'm sure, but if you look at if you look
• 26:18
Speaker 2: at fake CPR all throughout medical TV shows, there's different techniques.
• 26:22
Speaker 2: But and and you know, some people just like completely
• 26:25
Speaker 2: bed in their elbows so none of the pressure goes
• 26:27
  Speaker 2: down on the person's stern. I don't know what Donald's
• 26:29
Speaker 2: doing here, but I just maybe JD had an emergency.
• 26:34
Speaker 4: Maybe he was hungover from that powerwak.
• 26:37
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't, I don't.
• 26:39
Speaker 1: I don't know why this is a highlight of this
• 26:42
  Speaker 1: podcast today.
• 26:43
Speaker 2: I'm just saying, buddy, I'm just saying, next time you
• 26:46
Speaker 2: do fake CPR in one of your projects, you know
• 26:49
Speaker 2: you can do better. I believe in you. Okay, let's
• 26:52
Speaker 2: talk about the Holy Inferiority Complex Batman. This is one
• 26:55
Speaker 2: of some people's favorite fact.
• 26:56
Speaker 3: You know what I wrote down when I saw.
• 26:58
Speaker 2: That what one of that man.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: Robin Starsky and Hutch Han and Chewy Han and Luke.
• 27:08
  Speaker 3: Turk and JD.
• 27:11
Speaker 2: Are you're putting us up up there.
• 27:12
Speaker 1: I'm saying we are ultimate, ultimate dynamic duo.
• 27:18
Speaker 2: I want to say that. You know, there's certain things
• 27:20
Speaker 2: that come up all the time in Scrubs, fan favorite
• 27:24
Speaker 2: things that they send us gifts or they send or
• 27:26
Speaker 2: I see them on the interwebs, and this episode has
• 27:29
Speaker 2: a few of them actually, but this Batman Holy Inferity
• 27:34
Speaker 2: Inferiority complex is one of them.
• 27:37
Speaker 4: I think it's great because then then you to at
• 27:40
Speaker 4: least you're not Alfred and then you're in the Kick.
• 27:49
Speaker 1: That was my best Adam west impersonation ever, too. I
• 27:52
Speaker 1: don't think I could ever, Like, you know, people are
• 27:54
Speaker 1: like to Neil Diamond. I think my Adam west impersonation
• 27:58
Speaker 1: was better than my Neil Diamond.
• 28:00
  Speaker 3: You're worst, Robin.
• 28:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, your mask is so funny. I just have it
• 28:03
Speaker 2: frozen on one seventeen and I know that, like we weren't,
• 28:06
Speaker 2: like we weren't allowed to do the exact costume again
• 28:08
Speaker 2: because it's parody. It like has to have a little
• 28:10
Speaker 2: twist on it. But your mask is so funny.
• 28:14
Speaker 3: It's like Marty grau Ma, It's like a Marty Gras mask.
• 28:16
Speaker 2: I know what it was. It was. It's like a
• 28:18
Speaker 2: Martin So funny too.
• 28:19
Speaker 4: Because those were the days too, whenever we had to
• 28:22
Speaker 4: do like the Scrubs fantasies or whatever, where we was like,
• 28:25
Speaker 4: oh are they doing the fantasy And everybody would run
• 28:28
Speaker 4: down from their dressing rooms and come see everybody and
• 28:31
Speaker 4: do the costumes and the fantasies. And I'd be like,
• 28:35
Speaker 4: I said, when do.
• 28:36
Speaker 2: You actually get one Judy? One thing?
• 28:38
  Speaker 3: One thing?
• 28:39
Speaker 2: I hear one thing. I noticed Judy at three twenty three?
• 28:42
Speaker 2: You are you? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong.
• 28:44
Speaker 2: You weren't often in the fantasies, but this was. But
• 28:48
Speaker 2: this is one because because I don't know why we
• 28:50
Speaker 2: can talk about that, but this was one of the
• 28:52
Speaker 2: early times where you were in there doing that throwing
• 28:54
  Speaker 2: stars thing.
• 28:55
Speaker 4: And I'll tell you because I was also listening to
• 28:58
Speaker 4: when I was listening to the Bill podcast, I remember
• 29:01
Speaker 4: you know how you know how Bill always warned us
• 29:03
Speaker 4: not to go and talk to him about including or
• 29:06
Speaker 4: getting it because you would get faisoned. And that would
• 29:09
Speaker 4: be terrified I'm talking to him about shit like that.
• 29:12
Speaker 4: It would be like, you know, because he would always
• 29:15
Speaker 4: let me know this a sudden your character there would
• 29:18
Speaker 4: be carrying the gravitas of the show, and I was like,
• 29:22
Speaker 4: but I'm funny, goddamn it. I'd be worried about It's like,
• 29:28
Speaker 4: how do I talk to this man about the fact
• 29:30
Speaker 4: that I'm funny and I want like a fantasy and
• 29:34
Speaker 4: you know, or I want more jokes and shit, you know,
• 29:37
Speaker 4: and those would be like and I would literally sometimes
• 29:40
Speaker 4: be in my dressing room, like trying not to cry
• 29:44
Speaker 4: because I'm about to confront Bill about wanting more another
• 29:47
Speaker 4: joke or wanting this or wanting that, because I wouldn't
• 29:50
Speaker 4: want to be faisoned or some shit.
• 29:52
Speaker 2: So what would you do? Would you give yourself a
• 29:53
Speaker 2: bit of a pep talk?
• 29:54
Speaker 4: Oh my god? Yeah, and I would like cry in
• 29:56
Speaker 4: my room before you know, I'd be pulling like an
• 29:58
Speaker 4: elliot in my room. Yeah, I freaked out, you know.
• 30:04
Speaker 2: And was he receptive?
• 30:05
Speaker 4: He was receptive. He was receptive, I think.
• 30:08
Speaker 2: I mean, I have no idea what his reasoning was,
• 30:10
Speaker 2: but I but it sounds like, just from hearing you
• 30:12
Speaker 2: recount it, that that Carla was always the base of
• 30:18
Speaker 2: the reality and and the gravitas and the drama. So
• 30:22
Speaker 2: he didn't want her going into being too silly. But
• 30:26
Speaker 2: it's funny in this episode, you do have some funny
• 30:28
  Speaker 2: ass shit.
• 30:28
Speaker 3: I think I like the ninja stuff.
• 30:31
  Speaker 2: That was funny.
• 30:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, that was very.
• 30:32
Speaker 1: Fun walking in with your girlfriend laughing and everything and
• 30:35
Speaker 1: then getting caught out there. Yeah, yeah, that was I
• 30:41
Speaker 1: was gonna say, I I didn't recall. To be honest,
• 30:44
  Speaker 1: I don't recall a lot of I say this every
• 30:46
Speaker 1: single podcast. I don't recall a lot of scrubs when
• 30:51
Speaker 1: watching it. But I didn't recall that you and Elliott
• 30:55
Speaker 1: had such a rocky start. I always thought that you
• 30:58
Speaker 1: guys had a great relation ship. But I do you
• 31:01
Speaker 1: remember when it switched to where you guys became Was
• 31:05
Speaker 1: it early on? Because like, even in this episode, you're
• 31:10
Speaker 1: totally dissing her, you know, you like you know, and
• 31:14
Speaker 1: and it seems like it's always that way. She puts
• 31:15
Speaker 1: her foot in her mouth and you're like, I got
• 31:17
Speaker 1: to get the hell away from this person. Carl's like
• 31:20
Speaker 1: I got to get the hell away.
• 31:21
Speaker 2: Well, in the beginning, Sarah was pretty disrespectful to Carla,
• 31:24
Speaker 2: you know, like she you know, so I think I
• 31:26
Speaker 2: would imagine, I mean, obviously I want to know your answer,
• 31:29
Speaker 2: but my impression was that she was still feeling resentful
• 31:32
Speaker 2: towards towards Elliott, right.
• 31:34
Speaker 4: I think so. And I think it's more like she
• 31:37
Speaker 4: she doesn't get it and she never will, you know
• 31:39
  Speaker 4: what I mean. And I think it's JD's impulse always
• 31:43
Speaker 4: to just like smooth things sober over and fix things
• 31:48
Speaker 4: and help other people understand that she's really not just awkward.
• 31:53
Speaker 4: She's always screwing things up, just like you know, trying
• 31:55
Speaker 4: to help people understand or explain people to other people,
• 31:59
Speaker 4: you know what I mean? And I just I got
• 32:00
Speaker 4: no time for this.
• 32:01
Speaker 1: Do you recall when it switched over to Carla being
• 32:05
Speaker 1: that person for Elliott, you know what I mean, where
• 32:08
Speaker 1: Carla was making excuses for oh, this is just the
• 32:10
Speaker 1: way she is. Did it ever switch over to that
• 32:12
Speaker 1: or was Carla always.
• 32:14
  Speaker 4: I don't, I mean, I really don't. I know, I
• 32:18
Speaker 4: know that it happened in this episode.
• 32:19
Speaker 1: I don't know, well in this episode, even after you're like,
• 32:23
Speaker 1: I'm sorry I did that, we all know the truth, right.
• 32:27
Speaker 3: No, nobody want to hang out with Elliott.
• 32:29
Speaker 2: Exactly, especially when she's rocking a neckerchief. Did you see
• 32:33
Speaker 2: that neckerchief? And I thought that was really funny that moment,
• 32:39
Speaker 2: it's around five six or so, when you guys are
• 32:42
Speaker 2: walking into you're going out outfits and she's got her
• 32:45
Speaker 2: khakis and her little like Scooby Doo, what's the character
• 32:50
Speaker 2: in Scooby Doo that has the neckerchief? It was so random. Yeah,
• 32:53
Speaker 2: that was her going out outfit.
• 32:57
Speaker 4: So sanitary, and she puts her.
• 33:00
Speaker 2: Foot in her mouth with your friend, Yes because she
• 33:04
Speaker 2: has a son, right.
• 33:05
Speaker 4: Yes, she has a son who's like really young, and
• 33:07
Speaker 4: she's like, Wow, way to rob the cradle.
• 33:11
Speaker 3: I'm gonna be I'm gonna be honest with you.
• 33:13
Speaker 1: I had a lot of issues with this episode as
• 33:16
Speaker 1: far as stereotypes go. And I know this is the
• 33:18
Speaker 1: episode with Stereo about stereotypes and everything like that, but
• 33:21
Speaker 1: there's just so many things that, you know, one of
• 33:23
Speaker 1: the lines Turk says in the show is like, you know,
• 33:26
Speaker 1: all my whole life, people always assume that I'm a
• 33:28
Speaker 1: good athlete, that I that I that I uh uh
• 33:33
Speaker 1: was it. I'm a good athlete. I grew up poor
• 33:35
Speaker 1: and I love Sanford and Son. Those things are kind
• 33:39
Speaker 1: of true about me at.
• 33:42
Speaker 3: The end of the day.
• 33:45
  Speaker 1: I'm a pretty decent athlete. I didn't grow up with
• 33:48
Speaker 1: a lot of money, and I truly love Sanford and Son.
• 33:53
Speaker 4: But it's the obvious exploitation of those things and trying
• 33:56
Speaker 4: to me money off of that ship.
• 33:58
  Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely, there's a there's a lot of deep things
• 34:02
Speaker 1: that that we talk about in this episode. You know,
• 34:05
Speaker 1: you you touched on it earlier, and that's why I
• 34:07
Speaker 1: was saying it was such a great segue into this episode.
• 34:10
Speaker 1: You know, people of color don't go to hospitals or
• 34:12
Speaker 1: don't go to the doctor, you know what I mean.
• 34:14
Speaker 1: And it's because they don't. My opinion is because they
• 34:17
Speaker 1: don't see themselves when they go. They see a bunch
• 34:20
Speaker 1: of other colors when they go, and that can be
• 34:22
Speaker 1: very scary, you know what I mean. We touch on
• 34:24
Speaker 1: it in this episode, but I feel like, yeah, I
• 34:27
Speaker 1: understand why Turk's upset because you know, his face is
• 34:31
Speaker 1: placid and he's being exploited to try and bring a
• 34:34
Speaker 1: hip new crowd into the hospital and everything like that.
• 34:36
Speaker 1: But there's something deeper in that one. I didn't know
• 34:39
Speaker 1: that Sacred Heart was in the inner city. I had
• 34:41
Speaker 1: no idea that it was an inner city hospital.
• 34:44
  Speaker 3: One.
• 34:44
Speaker 2: You didn't this whole time.
• 34:46
Speaker 1: This whole time, there's so listen hard people of color
• 34:50
Speaker 1: in the right, in the in the hospital, you know
• 34:52
  Speaker 1: what I mean?
• 34:53
  Speaker 3: Uh and uh.
• 34:55
Speaker 1: You know, at the end of the day, this was
• 34:58
Speaker 1: something that really struck home with me. You know, we
• 35:00
Speaker 1: talk about we talk about COVID now and how you know,
• 35:03
Speaker 1: people of color are are a very high percentage of
• 35:07
Speaker 1: people that are dying because we have so many underlying
• 35:10
Speaker 1: conditions and stuff like that. But a lot of that
• 35:12
Speaker 1: has to do with being afraid to go to the
• 35:15
Speaker 1: doctor or to the hospital because when you go there,
• 35:19
Speaker 1: they're either going to give you bad news or you're
• 35:21
Speaker 1: gonna die, you know what I mean.
• 35:23
Speaker 3: And I feel like it's so prevalent in this you
• 35:26
Speaker 3: know what I mean.
• 35:27
Speaker 1: You know, we talk about it in this episode in
• 35:31
Speaker 1: a small way, but that's what I took away from this.
• 35:34
Speaker 1: I took what my takeaway from this was, you know,
• 35:38
Speaker 1: it's more than just turk being exploited. It has everything
• 35:42
Speaker 1: to do with, you know, how can we make health
• 35:45
Speaker 1: care better for people of color? But my first thing was, wow,
• 35:49
Speaker 1: I wish we truthfully need to figure out this healthcare
• 35:52
Speaker 1: system when it comes to the stigmatism that people of
• 35:56
Speaker 1: color have when they go to a hospital. When I
• 35:59
Speaker 1: finished the episode, I was like, Okay, the lesson is
• 36:01
Speaker 1: nobody wants to be taking advantage of and stand up
• 36:03
Speaker 1: for yourself and everything like that.
• 36:05
Speaker 3: I was like, but there's something deeper in that.
• 36:06
Speaker 1: Also, where the hell did this kid and I get
• 36:09
Speaker 1: this fucking imaginary football from?
• 36:11
Speaker 2: I just started laughing at that too to each other.
• 36:14
Speaker 2: At the end of the show, I was laughing at
• 36:15
Speaker 2: that too. I was like, sweet a second, you were
• 36:17
Speaker 2: stitching him up in an o R and then all
• 36:19
Speaker 2: of a sudden, there's a football was there was on
• 36:21
  Speaker 2: the shelf.
• 36:22
Speaker 3: Like how did this? How did this happen?
• 36:25
Speaker 2: By the way, and that story, and that story's pretty
• 36:28
Speaker 2: glossed over too. It's like, you got knifed, Yeah, you
• 36:31
Speaker 2: got stabbed, Yeah, you got stabbed in the arm. Yeah,
• 36:34
  Speaker 2: let's toss a ball.
• 36:35
Speaker 3: Let's play football, now you know what I mean. And
• 36:38
Speaker 3: that's what I was sitting there. I was like, this
• 36:40
Speaker 3: is some stereotypical bullshit.
• 36:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, he got knifed in the arm, and you were
• 36:46
Speaker 2: then you're making some joke like I got this from
• 36:48
Speaker 2: What was your joke? Like I, oh my my injuries from.
• 36:51
Speaker 3: This or something like that.
• 36:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, here, Jim, here's a ball.
• 36:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, let's play catch.
• 36:57
Speaker 2: Let's have a catch in the r. That wrestling fantasy
• 37:00
  Speaker 2: was pretty funny.
• 37:01
Speaker 4: I think I love that I'm going to prove you.
• 37:04
Speaker 3: I'm gonna prove you because I'm the in turn.
• 37:07
Speaker 2: I was so excited to do that. I like pro
• 37:09
Speaker 2: wrestling when I was.
• 37:10
  Speaker 3: A kid j D Macho man savage.
• 37:13
Speaker 2: I accidentally freeze framed at seven oh six, and I
• 37:16
Speaker 2: think it might be the most unattractive shot of me
• 37:18
Speaker 2: in Scrub's history. It was like this wide angle lens
• 37:22
Speaker 2: and I'm all up close to it, my giant nose, and.
• 37:26
Speaker 1: And your hair likes show enough. You had hair like
• 37:28
Speaker 1: show enough from the last Dragon two, by.
• 37:30
Speaker 2: The way, I like my hair like that. I was
• 37:31
Speaker 2: really enjoying it. I mean, the wig extension, whatever it is.
• 37:35
Speaker 2: I think that they did a good job because I
• 37:37
Speaker 2: wish I could rock hair like that. My hair would
• 37:39
  Speaker 2: never do that.
• 37:40
  Speaker 4: It wouldn't.
• 37:41
Speaker 2: No, it wouldn't. It wouldn't be so glorious.
• 37:44
  Speaker 4: Neither would mine.
• 37:46
Speaker 2: No, you have beautiful curly hair. I'm looking My hair
• 37:48
  Speaker 2: wouldn't be.
• 37:48
Speaker 4: Like all straight and shite.
• 37:50
Speaker 2: Judy talking about that bar scene at eight oh four.
• 37:53
Speaker 2: Do you remember shooting that and it's the when you
• 37:56
Speaker 2: when you show up and Sarah's drinking alone? Do you
• 37:58
Speaker 2: remember shooting that? Or and that woman that you worked
• 38:01
  Speaker 2: with that I don't know. I'm sorry, I don't know
• 38:02
Speaker 2: her name. I mean, you probably don't remember her naming there,
• 38:04
Speaker 2: but I thought she did a good job.
• 38:06
Speaker 4: No, she was super sweet, And I do remember like
• 38:09
Speaker 4: the whole idea of doing that scene. I I just
• 38:12
Speaker 4: loved the idea of fucking up on someone so badly,
• 38:16
Speaker 4: you know, and just being so ugh, so uncomfortable around
• 38:21
  Speaker 4: someone that.
• 38:23
Speaker 3: You would, uh hide under a table, you know, yeah.
• 38:28
Speaker 4: Hide under a table, do you know what I mean?
• 38:30
Speaker 4: And having to like try to find ways to just
• 38:33
Speaker 4: completely avoid them because you screwed up so badly. And
• 38:36
Speaker 4: how I'm telling Turk, you're such a guy and you
• 38:40
Speaker 4: don't fucking understand what's going on. And then Jad comes
• 38:44
Speaker 4: and I'm so sorry what I did and they apologize
• 38:46
Speaker 4: to each other like nothing happened.
• 38:49
Speaker 2: Do you think that that's a good What do you
• 38:51
Speaker 2: think the commentary is there that like men can communicate
• 38:54
Speaker 2: with each other? I mean what I laughed at that,
• 38:56
Speaker 2: but then I was thinking, like, what is what is
• 38:58
Speaker 2: the social commentary there? Just the just that Turk and
• 39:01
Speaker 2: GD have such a close relationship and they know how
• 39:03
  Speaker 2: to communicate.
• 39:04
Speaker 4: I think so. I think they already apologize to each other,
• 39:07
Speaker 4: but they want to say, listen, I hope you got me.
• 39:09
Speaker 4: I'm really sorry for what happened. I didn't mean it,
• 39:11
Speaker 4: I know, that you didn't mean it as cool, you
• 39:13
Speaker 4: know what I mean? Just right after and I think
• 39:15
Speaker 4: she realizes, like, shit, I really just have to go
• 39:18
Speaker 4: confront her, you know where she's trying to avoid it.
• 39:21
Speaker 4: I think, you know, guy, but these these guys they're
• 39:25
Speaker 4: so they're such good friends that they're going to they're
• 39:29
Speaker 4: not going to do that to their friendship, you know.
• 39:31
Speaker 4: And he's and and Turk is looking off and then
• 39:33
Speaker 4: you know we're getting there. She's looking at him like,
• 39:38
Speaker 4: you know, go fuck yourself.
• 39:39
Speaker 2: And then we did that. There's some sound effect on
• 39:41
Speaker 2: our fist bump that's like hit me.
• 39:45
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, their friendship isn't healed and by no
• 39:51
Speaker 4: means of friendship. And and Aloma and I love that
• 39:54
Speaker 4: whole and the whole nurse thing with like Aloma being
• 39:57
Speaker 4: in the JD seek his his fucking evaluations so desperately
• 40:03
Speaker 4: from Cox. I think fits into that story so well.
• 40:07
Speaker 4: He's asking from Aloma and miss doctor Cox is there.
• 40:10
Speaker 4: She's like, can't you see I'm watching my story? Yeah,
• 40:14
Speaker 4: I remember that whole my story is thing being so
• 40:16
Speaker 4: hilarious during that episode. I do remember, and everybody's like
• 40:19
Speaker 4: quoting it all over the place.
• 40:20
Speaker 2: Aloma was so funny. You could just give her anything, and.
• 40:23
Speaker 4: She's just like one line and she's just magical. Yeah,
• 40:28
Speaker 4: she comes and what Carla didn't give Elliott Laverne gave her.
• 40:35
Speaker 4: You know it was Alma right, played so beautiful. She
• 40:38
Speaker 4: because it just gives her. She goes, why so sad
• 40:40
Speaker 4: Marshall meallow, and then she gives her a little hot
• 40:42
  Speaker 4: chocolate little marshmallow.
• 40:44
Speaker 3: Did marshmallow stick Marshall? Did it? Did?
• 40:47
Speaker 4: I think it did? Yeah?
• 40:49
Speaker 2: We think Carla and Nurse Roberts were friends outside of work. Yes, yeah, absolutely,
• 40:55
Speaker 2: that story never got told. I want to see I
• 40:57
Speaker 2: want to see the Nurse Roberts Carla Vegas trip.
• 41:04
Speaker 3: Did Aloma ever go with us to Vegas? Did she
• 41:06
Speaker 3: go with us to Vegas for the rap?
• 41:08
Speaker 2: I think so. I think Alma was. I think Alma
• 41:10
Speaker 2: was religious and she wasn't.
• 41:11
Speaker 1: She was staying away from that. Jesus will not be there.
• 41:15
  Speaker 3: I know that I.
• 41:18
Speaker 4: Think she would have done been at the slot machine
• 41:23
  Speaker 4: the whole time.
• 41:23
Speaker 3: But do you remember that Vegas trip?
• 41:27
  Speaker 4: Yeah?
• 41:27
Speaker 3: We went twice, do you know that? I don't know.
• 41:31
Speaker 1: We went for one one time we went for like
• 41:33
Speaker 1: a birthday and then another time we went for.
• 41:37
Speaker 3: Am I wrong? I might be wrong.
• 41:39
Speaker 2: I don't know. Well, we definitely went for to shoot
• 41:41
Speaker 2: this thing with the Blue Man Group, and then we
• 41:44
Speaker 2: stayed and had a party, right.
• 41:45
Speaker 3: Yes, No, that was the Rap Party.
• 41:48
Speaker 2: Was the Rap Party and the Blue Man Group thing
• 41:50
Speaker 2: the same trip. No, there were two trips to Vegas.
• 41:54
Speaker 3: There were like three or four trips to What a
• 41:57
Speaker 3: good deal? Great deal?
• 42:00
Speaker 1: That's another question. When the last time any of you
• 42:02
Speaker 1: have been to Vegas.
• 42:04
Speaker 2: I don't think it's wise for me to go to
• 42:05
  Speaker 2: Vegas anymore.
• 42:06
Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember when I went to Vegas, and I
• 42:09
Speaker 4: think Bill was I was like, I've never played poker
• 42:12
Speaker 4: or I've never played lette. Come on, come on, you
• 42:15
Speaker 4: can do it. You could do it, you could do it.
• 42:16
Speaker 4: And I played and I beat him and he got pissed.
• 42:20
  Speaker 3: That's I remember Bill.
• 42:22
Speaker 2: Bill Laurin says one of the best quotes about Vegas
• 42:24
Speaker 2: that I always think about, and he goes, I've never
• 42:25
Speaker 2: had a good second night in Vegas.
• 42:28
  Speaker 4: It's the day.
• 42:31
Speaker 2: You gotta go and get the fuck out and get out,
• 42:34
Speaker 2: get out. Donald. I once went to Vegas with Donald
• 42:37
Speaker 2: and Jude on many I've been to Vegas many times
• 42:40
Speaker 2: with Donald. But once he uh, we were playing blackjack
• 42:43
Speaker 2: and he got crushed and he went upstairs and went
• 42:47
Speaker 2: to sleep. It was like nine thirty. He was so
• 42:50
Speaker 2: mad that how badly he got beaten blackjack that he
• 42:53
Speaker 2: just he said, dismounted. And I don't think you came
• 42:55
Speaker 2: back out. You went to bed at like nine thirty.
• 42:57
Speaker 1: Well, I came out the next day. I met y'all
• 43:01
Speaker 1: at the pool the next day.
• 43:03
Speaker 2: Get a good night's sleep, Yeah, sleep. I wanted to
• 43:06
Speaker 2: say that billboard at nine fifty eight, that that that
• 43:09
Speaker 2: Kelso has made was really up. So nowadays that would
• 43:13
Speaker 2: be a visual effect, but back in two thousand and one,
• 43:15
Speaker 2: they made that billboard and it was and I remember
• 43:17
Speaker 2: it was up for a little while, right Donald.
• 43:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't realize that the rainbow flag was behind
• 43:22
  Speaker 1: it though.
• 43:23
  Speaker 2: Well.
• 43:23
Speaker 3: Diversity, Yeah, you know what I thought.
• 43:26
Speaker 1: The diversity was the fact that a white guy and
• 43:28
Speaker 1: a black guy could work at the same hospital together.
• 43:31
Speaker 3: That black guy was gay, not that the black guy
• 43:33
  Speaker 3: was gay.
• 43:36
Speaker 4: Remember, I remember that they took down all the posters
• 43:38
Speaker 4: in the hospital, but they left the was up up
• 43:40
  Speaker 4: for a while.
• 43:41
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 43:42
Speaker 2: Those were hilarious, by the way, I wish I was.
• 43:44
Speaker 2: When I was watching this episode, I was I wish
• 43:46
Speaker 2: I had one of those as a souvenir.
• 43:49
Speaker 1: Time to get an EKGG would be hanging up in
• 43:51
  Speaker 1: my house, dude.
• 43:52
Speaker 2: Time to get an ekg G is my favorite one.
• 43:55
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I wanted to say that A ten
• 43:58
Speaker 2: o eight is when you get mad at me. We're
• 43:59
Speaker 2: in car about the billboard and then I do an
• 44:02
Speaker 2: homage to the movie Vacation where I go roll them up.
• 44:05
Speaker 2: Do you remember that? Do you remember? Do you remember
• 44:08
Speaker 2: in the movie Vacation when Chevy Chase is frantically they
• 44:10
Speaker 2: end up in a bad neighborhood and they're stealing their
• 44:12
Speaker 2: their their tired, their hubcaps, and there's they hear a
• 44:15
Speaker 2: gunshot and chevy Chase goes roll them up, roll out
• 44:18
  Speaker 2: the windows.
• 44:21
  Speaker 3: No doubt.
• 44:22
Speaker 2: So I just recognize my homage to Vacation there, and then.
• 44:26
Speaker 3: Also said keep it real.
• 44:27
Speaker 1: You also said keep it real in the scene where
• 44:29
Speaker 1: you come where we apologize to it. Yes, after the
• 44:33
Speaker 1: fist bump, you said keep it real.
• 44:34
Speaker 3: That's a bit of a bit of an homage to
• 44:36
  Speaker 3: I would say.
• 44:37
Speaker 2: Oh to chevy Chase, No to clueless, Oh to clueless sorry,
• 44:42
Speaker 2: ten forty one. This is the Sandford and Son thing,
• 44:45
Speaker 2: which is pretty funny. And I laughed out loud when
• 44:48
Speaker 2: you did it, like reluctantly. You did your you're sad,
• 44:52
Speaker 2: like I try and get you into the Sandford sonthing
• 44:55
Speaker 2: and then you sort of.
• 44:56
Speaker 3: Well, I do it because I can't really help it.
• 44:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but it's it's this. You had this look
• 45:03
Speaker 2: on your face, is like so reluctant but you can't
• 45:05
  Speaker 2: help it.
• 45:05
  Speaker 3: But I can't help it. We're purp, We're better.
• 45:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, and then it cuts and then it cuts to
• 45:14
Speaker 2: an ass slapping dance where we're seeing.
• 45:18
Speaker 3: Yes, it's just dirt.
• 45:20
Speaker 2: That's a special moment in Scrubs history with us both
• 45:23
Speaker 2: dancing and as slapping. Bill had reference to you being
• 45:26
Speaker 2: on the brochure twice when he's on this is the
• 45:28
Speaker 2: moment that happens eleven thirty four.
• 45:30
Speaker 1: Now, he said this was a problem that he some
• 45:33
Speaker 1: people got mad about it.
• 45:34
Speaker 2: I'm sure people get mad at everything, but I think
• 45:36
Speaker 2: this was a real story. I think, as I understand,
• 45:39
Speaker 2: this was taken from a real anecdote where a coology
• 45:41
Speaker 2: had gotten caught putting the same person on the on
• 45:44
Speaker 2: the brochure twice. We're gonna take a quick break and
• 45:47
Speaker 2: we'll be right back.
• 45:55
Speaker 1: And we are back before we want to jump in,
• 45:58
Speaker 1: before we started, before we started.
• 46:00
  Speaker 4: This is Tiffany.
• 46:01
Speaker 7: Hi, Tiffany th Inster being here.
• 46:03
Speaker 3: Tiffany, how are you?
• 46:05
Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, sorry, this is beautiful, super excited.
• 46:13
  Speaker 3: Guys.
• 46:13
Speaker 2: Wait, Joelle, what did you want to say? Befo, we
• 46:15
Speaker 2: want to get all this what did you want to say?
• 46:17
Speaker 7: So this is a surprise for Tiffany's husband, so he
• 46:20
Speaker 7: does not know that he's about you want to talk
• 46:22
  Speaker 7: to you guys?
• 46:23
  Speaker 4: Why Tishany.
• 46:26
  Speaker 2: That's really nice.
• 46:27
Speaker 4: That's really nice of you too.
• 46:29
Speaker 2: So, Tiffany, he has no clue that he's going to
• 46:31
Speaker 2: speak to the three of us.
• 46:32
Speaker 5: No, he has absolutely no idea that our anniversary is
• 46:36
Speaker 5: on Friday, nine years well, nine years married this year,
• 46:38
  Speaker 5: best anniversary present.
• 46:40
Speaker 2: Ever anything, goodness ever again?
• 46:44
Speaker 6: So what do you are you?
• 46:45
Speaker 3: Are you also in your closet? Yes, Faison style right,
• 46:48
  Speaker 3: no doubt.
• 46:50
Speaker 2: And Judy Ray's style is.
• 46:52
Speaker 3: Judy Rays is in her closet too.
• 46:54
Speaker 2: Now, Tiffany, what are you going to tell him? Are
• 46:56
Speaker 2: you going to say that you guys get get on
• 46:57
  Speaker 2: a zoom.
• 46:58
Speaker 3: Are you gonna be like it right now, get him
• 47:01
  Speaker 3: the closet.
• 47:02
Speaker 2: No, don't, don't that he'll be disappointed if he finds
• 47:04
Speaker 2: out it's us and his wife's luring him too. The closet.
• 47:06
Speaker 5: Yeah, he has, he has no idea. I had to
• 47:08
Speaker 5: come up with a very elaborate ruse to try to
• 47:11
Speaker 5: work all this out. I'm a horrible liar. So he
• 47:13
Speaker 5: either thinks I'm having some kind of breakdown or hiding
• 47:16
Speaker 5: something from him. So well, the big reveal is going
• 47:18
  Speaker 5: to be fabulous.
• 47:18
Speaker 2: So what's the plan? How do we best form you?
• 47:20
Speaker 4: How do you do this?
• 47:22
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 47:22
Speaker 5: He thinks I'm in the closet right now on an
• 47:24
Speaker 5: important work phone call, and so I was going to
• 47:26
Speaker 5: go out there and say I need tech support.
• 47:28
  Speaker 3: I can't. I can't log into the call it go
• 47:31
Speaker 3: do it, go do it right now?
• 47:32
Speaker 6: Are you ready? Are you ready?
• 47:35
  Speaker 4: Okay?
• 47:36
Speaker 5: I might cry, guys, and I'm an ugly crier, you know,
• 47:38
Speaker 5: just a fair warning. Looks like I got hit in
• 47:40
Speaker 5: the face with a suck of marvel.
• 47:41
  Speaker 3: So don't worry.
• 47:42
Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna be a horror CRY's going to virtually hug you.
• 47:45
Speaker 3: And we're fake doctor. So we're used to, so we're
• 47:47
Speaker 3: kind of used to.
• 47:49
Speaker 2: We see lots of fake emotion.
• 47:51
Speaker 5: Yeah, nice, Okay, I'm gonna bear it back.
• 47:53
Speaker 2: This is exciting. Good work, Joel, good producing, Joel. This

• 48:00
Speaker 2: I'm nervous, are you guys nervous? I don't want him
• 48:03
Speaker 2: to be disappointed? What if he's like, oh I thought
• 48:05
  Speaker 2: Donald's drunk.
• 48:05
Speaker 3: He doesn't feel Donald's drunk. Hold on, guys, I've got
• 48:10
Speaker 3: a nice little buzz going.
• 48:11
Speaker 4: Oh god, I'm really stressed out.
• 48:16
Speaker 5: These are just my my coworkers that are from the call.
• 48:20

• 50:13
Speaker 2: little TV show and and and we just wanted to say,
• 50:15
Speaker 2: have the anniversary. And if you wanted to ask us
• 50:17
Speaker 2: anything or or anything, we're here to answer questions. It
• 50:21
Speaker 2: could be about the show, it could be about your life,
• 50:23
  Speaker 2: whatever you want.
• 50:25
Speaker 6: I feel like I feel like when you met Lando,
• 50:32
  Speaker 6: I mean, don't do it.
• 50:37
Speaker 2: Donald him a little Lando.
• 50:40
  Speaker 1: You know, here's a little here's a little, here's a
• 50:43
Speaker 1: little trivia. I was doing like a celebration. So Star
• 50:47
Speaker 1: Wars has a celebration every year, right, and I was
• 50:51
Speaker 1: doing a celebration one of the celebrations because I voiced
• 50:54
Speaker 1: one of the characters on a Star Wars television show.
• 50:59
Speaker 1: And yeah, somebody told me that Billy D Williams was
• 51:02
Speaker 1: next door and that I should go say hi to him.
• 51:05
Speaker 1: And I got really excited. I was like, oh, snap,
• 51:08
Speaker 1: Billy D wants to say hi to me. Okay, let
• 51:10
Speaker 1: me go say hi. So I walked into the room
• 51:12
Speaker 1: and I you know, there's a bunch of people in
• 51:14
Speaker 1: line and they're waiting to say hi to Billy D
• 51:16
Speaker 1: and take picture with him.
• 51:17
Speaker 3: And I walk into I go.
• 51:20
Speaker 1: Grison and he jumps and then he looks over at
• 51:24
Speaker 1: me and he's like the lines over there, Oh my god.
• 51:32
Speaker 2: Oh my god, you must have been crushed. He's like,
• 51:34
Speaker 2: you broke my heart.
• 51:35
Speaker 3: It broke my heart.
• 51:36
Speaker 2: In your mind, my heart in your mind. You thought
• 51:38
Speaker 2: he was going to be like, don come over here.
• 51:46
  Speaker 6: Oh my god.
• 51:50
Speaker 3: Anyway, so if you have any questions that you want
• 51:52
  Speaker 3: to ask, don't.
• 51:53
Speaker 2: Be don't be shy, tell us ask us anything. He's
• 51:57
Speaker 2: your favorite guest star.
• 51:59
Speaker 3: I guess favorite guest.
• 52:01
Speaker 2: Star, favorite guest star. Do you want to go first?
• 52:03
Speaker 2: As since you're our favorite guest ever I had, I.
• 52:07
Speaker 4: Could tell you the first most shocking guest star because
• 52:11
  Speaker 4: I don't know. I'm like that, I don't necessarily get starstruck.
• 52:14
Speaker 4: But I remember the first time I remember we had
• 52:17
Speaker 4: Eric Strada. Yes, and he was on the You guys
• 52:22
Speaker 4: remember Erica Strata from Chips.
• 52:25
Speaker 1: For those of you out there who don't, who don't
• 52:27
Speaker 1: remember the show Chips, Uh, there was an actor on
• 52:30
Speaker 1: the show by the name of Erica Strada who was
• 52:32
Speaker 1: America's heart throb back in the day.
• 52:35
Speaker 4: Yes, and he wasn't supposed to be the star guy
• 52:37
Speaker 4: who was supposed to be starting the show. Who knows
• 52:39
Speaker 4: nobody remembers his name? I remember him.
• 52:42
Speaker 1: That's a character's named Erica Strada is the actual name
• 52:45
Speaker 1: of the dude who played punch.
• 52:47
Speaker 2: Well, can you tell us his name? Please? I feel dission.
• 52:51
Speaker 4: Myself too. But nonetheless, when I came in to hearing
• 52:54
Speaker 4: makeup and and there was Erica Strata getting his he
• 52:58
Speaker 4: was just doing like a you know, like a real
• 53:00
Speaker 4: quick guest appearance. And I saw him, I was like,
• 53:04
Speaker 4: by just standing in the same room with this guy,
• 53:06
  Speaker 4: I couldn't even speak, and now I have a big
• 53:08
Speaker 4: giant I did. I remember Wayne Brady had a talk
• 53:12
Speaker 4: show at that time, and I told him that story
• 53:16
Speaker 4: and he gave me a giant poster of Eric Astratta
• 53:20
Speaker 4: that I still have in my garage of Eric Astrata
• 53:22
  Speaker 4: hot pants.
• 53:24
Speaker 2: I remember. I remember that Eric Estrada were really tight
• 53:27
  Speaker 2: tight motorcycle pants.
• 53:29
Speaker 3: They all did. By the way, the actors was will Cox.
• 53:33
Speaker 4: Larry Larry Wilcox, Yes, my apologies.
• 53:38
Speaker 2: All right, well you know you didn't didn't have his name,
• 53:40
Speaker 2: but we want to make sure we get it out
• 53:41
Speaker 2: there to respect all members of the Screen Actors Guild. Donald,
• 53:44
Speaker 2: who is your favorite guest?
• 53:46
Speaker 3: Jar Billy d Williams.
• 53:47
Speaker 1: Obviously I really enjoyed, uh when Colin Farrell came on
• 53:51
  Speaker 1: the show.
• 53:53
Speaker 4: Love Colin Farrell. I like that all of us men
• 53:56
Speaker 4: and women almost made up with him.
• 53:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, Sarah really early was excited to make out of him.
• 54:01
Speaker 1: And then of course Brendan Fraser man like yes, oh,
• 54:05
Speaker 1: and also and also Ryan Reynolds.
• 54:07
Speaker 2: You're supposed to pick one, Donald if.
• 54:10
Speaker 3: I if I have to pick one.
• 54:11
Speaker 2: The exercise was to pick one, not just starting off
• 54:14
  Speaker 2: famous people.
• 54:15
Speaker 3: Oh well, then for me it would have to be
• 54:20
  Speaker 3: Billy D. Williams.
• 54:22
Speaker 2: For me, it was John Ridder, hands down, because John
• 54:27
Speaker 2: Ridder when I was a kid. You'll hear me say
• 54:28
Speaker 2: this over and over again. I my intro at physical
• 54:31
Speaker 2: comedy was Three's Company. I just thought that was the
• 54:33
Speaker 2: funniest shit I had ever seen in my life. And
• 54:37
Speaker 2: John Ritter doing physical comedy was just He's a man.
• 54:42
Speaker 2: He could fall over a couch like like no one,
• 54:44
Speaker 2: and I just thought he was a master. And then
• 54:47
Speaker 2: so when he came on to play my father, I
• 54:49
Speaker 2: was just gushing. I was just I loved him so much.
• 54:52
Speaker 2: And in fact, he was supposed to come back for
• 54:55
Speaker 2: the second time. Literally he was going to shoot Monday,
• 54:58
Speaker 2: and I believe he died that weekend, the weekend, No,
• 55:02
Speaker 2: the week he died the if not the night before.
• 55:06
Speaker 1: No, Yeah, he was supposed to come in and he
• 55:08
Speaker 1: passed away after they wrapped or while they were making
• 55:11
Speaker 1: the show that he was on at the time, And
• 55:13
Speaker 1: he was going to come and do our show the
• 55:15
Speaker 1: next day, right, And and it's really amazing how quickly
• 55:18
Speaker 1: Tom Cavanaugh, who was not scheduled to be on the show,
• 55:21
Speaker 1: showed up to be on the episode, and how they
• 55:24
Speaker 1: changed it around and make it so that so that
• 55:27
Speaker 1: John Ritter's character had passed away on the show as well.
• 55:30
Speaker 2: They had to frantically rewrite it. But that that's mine.
• 55:33
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm literally getting goosebumps as I tell this story.
• 55:36
  Speaker 2: Just and I and I had him. I have a
• 55:39
Speaker 2: framed wall on my on my in my house of
• 55:41
Speaker 2: all these framed family pictures and Donald's on there a
• 55:44
Speaker 2: few times, of course, and there was literally one of
• 55:47
Speaker 2: the most prominent pictures was a picture of me and
• 55:50
Speaker 2: John Ritter, just because he was just so important to
• 55:53
Speaker 2: me and I loved him a lot.
• 55:55
Speaker 1: I remember when he said my name the first time,
• 55:57
Speaker 1: and it caught me. It kind of caught me off guard,
• 55:59
Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I was, holy cow, Wow,
• 56:01
Speaker 1: John Rettan knows my name?
• 56:02
Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
• 56:03
Speaker 1: I as you did, Zach. I also grew up one
• 56:06
  Speaker 1: Three's company, and uh yeah, I that that's a that's
• 56:11
Speaker 1: a you know what. As much as I love Billy D. Williams,
• 56:14
Speaker 1: meeting John Ritter was and Michael J. Fox also were
• 56:18
  Speaker 1: highlights for me.
• 56:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, how about another question, because now that
• 56:23
Speaker 2: it looks like your face has has settled in a
• 56:25
Speaker 2: little bit. You're not stunned as much anymore right now.
• 56:27
Speaker 3: I I you know, your eyes aren't knocking.
• 56:32
Speaker 2: I another I don't know if I have another question, Tiffany.
• 56:37
Speaker 3: Do you have any question?
• 56:38
Speaker 2: Tiffany? How about you?
• 56:41
Speaker 5: Would you guys ever consider doing a live taping so
• 56:44
Speaker 5: that we could go and see you and yeah, after
• 56:48
Speaker 5: obviously after all the COVID nineteen stuff, but well, you.
• 56:52
Speaker 2: Know, you know, well go ahead, you're gonna say, yeah, Donald,
• 56:54
  Speaker 2: I will Donald.
• 56:55
Speaker 3: Want to do that.
• 56:56
Speaker 1: We just don't know when all of this is going
• 56:58
Speaker 1: to go away, you know what I mean. I don't
• 57:01
Speaker 1: know where you guys are. We're in Los Angeles right now,
• 57:04
Speaker 1: and we have strict policies in Los Angeles, as we
• 57:08
Speaker 1: should we you know, we have a lot of COVID
• 57:10
Speaker 1: patients here, and so I don't.
• 57:12
Speaker 2: Know, well, even COVID aside, there's no plans to do
• 57:15
Speaker 2: anything like that. And in fact, you know, Scrubs was
• 57:17
Speaker 2: shot like a film, not in from an audience, although
• 57:20
Speaker 2: as you recall, we did that that one sitcom spoof
• 57:24
Speaker 2: where we did it in front of a live audience.
• 57:26
Speaker 2: That was yeah, that was Look, you know, it's the
• 57:28
Speaker 2: title you are good. That was a lot of fun,
• 57:31
Speaker 2: you know, because I never donald this, had done sitcoms before.
• 57:33
Speaker 2: I had never done a sitcom.
• 57:35
  Speaker 4: Uh no, I mean I've done I did a pilot,
• 57:40
  Speaker 4: and I did a guest.
• 57:40
Speaker 2: Star, and I had done theater. But but there was
• 57:43
Speaker 2: it was really fun doing that. That's do you guys
• 57:45
Speaker 2: remember that. I just remember thinking like, oh, now I
• 57:50
Speaker 2: see the allure of doing this to come. It's such
• 57:51
Speaker 2: a high, Like the audience is so amped up, it's
• 57:54
Speaker 2: like cold, and they've got a lot of sugar and
• 57:57
Speaker 2: uh and they just laugh at whatever you do and
• 58:00
Speaker 2: and and we were Obviously it was a well written episode,
• 58:03
Speaker 2: so it was genuinely funny. But I remember really thinking like, oh,
• 58:06
Speaker 2: that could be fun to do.
• 58:07
Speaker 4: Are you guys in the medical industry at all? I'm
• 58:10
Speaker 4: just curious because you're such enormous fans. O.
• 58:13
Speaker 1: No, no, no, I was military for I was army
• 58:16
Speaker 1: for a little bit.
• 58:17
Speaker 2: But h where do you guys live Northern California?
• 58:20
Speaker 6: Patterson It's right up the five on the other side
• 58:22
Speaker 6: of the Bay Area.
• 58:23
Speaker 3: Oh so you guys are in the Bay Area.
• 58:25
Speaker 2: We could be over in like five and a half
• 58:26
Speaker 2: hours if you guys can make.
• 58:28
Speaker 3: Us dinner anytime, anytime with your cooking. What's your cooking tonight, tacos?
• 58:36
  Speaker 3: It's Wednesday left.
• 58:37
Speaker 4: Over Wednesday over here as well.
• 58:40
Speaker 2: Really, guys, let's head up there. We're driving separate cars
• 58:43
Speaker 2: and we'll sit in here in your backyard.
• 58:47
Speaker 1: We will maintain safe distancing, I promise you.
• 58:50
Speaker 2: Well, thank you so much for what a great surprise
• 58:53
Speaker 2: and uh and our pleasure show and anniversary anniversary, Tiffany,
• 58:59
Speaker 2: you are a good wife. I got to say, it
• 59:01
Speaker 2: is a good surprise.
• 59:02
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 59:02
Speaker 5: I'm never gonna have to buy anything ever again. I'm
• 59:04
Speaker 5: just gonna I'm just gonna, you know, take a picture
• 59:06
Speaker 5: of that, and you know, just like that's it every year,
• 59:09
Speaker 5: remember twenty twenty, that's what I take the picture.
• 59:11
Speaker 1: Now, let's take the picture and let me get let
• 59:12
Speaker 1: me get fresh for you, let me get us for you.
• 59:17
Speaker 2: Yes, of course, okay, make sure you get Joel too.
• 59:21
Speaker 2: And that's how well always remember that, that's how well
• 59:23
  Speaker 2: always remember them.
• 59:24
Speaker 6: Oh my god, yeah, accidentally I should have heard him them.
• 59:28
  Speaker 3: He's like.
• 59:30
Speaker 2: The screams, oh my god.
• 59:34
Speaker 5: Wow, this guys, you were just totally awesome and thank
• 59:37
Speaker 5: you for doing this. Where we're watching pleasure, watching the show,
• 59:40
Speaker 5: listening to the podcast.
• 59:41
Speaker 4: It's just awesome right now.
• 59:43
Speaker 2: Thank you. We're having so much fun doing and it
• 59:45
Speaker 2: means a lot to us that that you're loving listening
• 59:47
Speaker 2: and and please stay safe up there and enjoy Taco Wednesday.
• 59:51
  Speaker 3: Be healthy.
• 59:53
  Speaker 4: Thank you.
• 59:53
  Speaker 2: Bye, guys, guys.
• 59:54
  Speaker 1: Bye.
• 59:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, you technically are supposed to hang up, but okay,
• 59:59
Speaker 2: you don't have to be.
• 1:00:00
Speaker 4: We can be together forever. I like it. I like it. Judy,
• 1:00:05
  Speaker 4: let's do that.
• 1:00:06
Speaker 6: You're rocking the curly hair.
• 1:00:08
Speaker 3: No no, but really hang up now because we got
• 1:00:09
  Speaker 3: a rest.
• 1:00:09
Speaker 2: Of get the fuck Outriuez.
• 1:00:16
Speaker 4: Is getting the out.
• 1:00:19
Speaker 3: I love y'all. Thank you, Thank you so much, guys,
• 1:00:21
  Speaker 3: thank you.
• 1:00:24
Speaker 2: Welcome Josh. That was great, Joelle, Joel. I don't know
• 1:00:27
Speaker 2: how a caller can I mean, you really brought it.
• 1:00:29
Speaker 4: How did you do that?
• 1:00:30
Speaker 2: I don't know how anyone's ever going to compete with that,
• 1:00:33
  Speaker 2: you know.
• 1:00:33
Speaker 7: I wanted to really quickly get some tips. If you
• 1:00:34
Speaker 7: guys want to write in a letter, make sure your
• 1:00:36
Speaker 7: subject line is just really expressive. That's going to pop out.
• 1:00:39
Speaker 7: It's like we have thousands and thousands of letters for
• 1:00:42
Speaker 7: people wanting to call in and so just you know whatever,
• 1:00:45
Speaker 7: you can put your question in there, if you have
• 1:00:46
Speaker 7: a good one, if you have a good story, we'll
• 1:00:48
Speaker 7: probably wait till we surprise someone. So don't try to
• 1:00:51
Speaker 7: set that up just yet.
• 1:00:52
Speaker 4: You know, no words top that bitches.
• 1:00:58
Speaker 2: Well, listen, we should, we should remind you well if
• 1:01:00
Speaker 2: you do, even though Joel says she's getting thousands of them.
• 1:01:03
Speaker 2: If you do want to ask a question, you go
• 1:01:05
Speaker 2: to write an email to scrubs iHeart at gmail dot com.
• 1:01:10
Speaker 2: Find a way to stand out and and it'll all
• 1:01:13
Speaker 2: be up to Joel's eyeballs. Who gets to come on?
• 1:01:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, don't blame me if you call in, and if
• 1:01:20
Speaker 1: you try to call in, or you'd send an email
• 1:01:22
Speaker 1: and you don't get a response, it's not my fault.
• 1:01:25
  Speaker 3: You blame Joel.
• 1:01:26
Speaker 2: You're not gonna believe this. But Donald's not the one
• 1:01:28
Speaker 2: sifting through the thousands of emails.
• 1:01:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, you blame Joel, You blame Joel.
• 1:01:33
Speaker 2: It's you gotta put some bass in your face.
• 1:01:34
Speaker 3: In your voice. You're gonna fall for no banana in
• 1:01:36
  Speaker 3: the tailpipe.
• 1:01:37
Speaker 2: You're not gonna fall for now the nana in the tailpipe.
• 1:01:39
  Speaker 2: I ain't gonna fall too.
• 1:01:40
  Speaker 3: Much.
• 1:01:41
Speaker 4: Wait a minute, no banana, no tailpipe?
• 1:01:43
Speaker 3: What alright? So I was gonna say something. I was
• 1:01:51
  Speaker 3: gonna say something.
• 1:01:52
Speaker 2: Go ahead, got notes. I'm so impressed.
• 1:01:54
Speaker 3: I always have notes this from I always have no
• 1:01:57
  Speaker 3: to good.
• 1:01:57
Speaker 2: I didn't know that you were always rocking notes. I
• 1:01:58
Speaker 2: just thought you were making drinks of there in the close.
• 1:02:00
Speaker 1: No boy, go ahead, Doctor Kelse Turk and this doctor Turk.
• 1:02:10
Speaker 1: He calls him doctor Turk now right, and not Turkleton.
• 1:02:14
Speaker 1: So does this mess up the lore that Kelso doesn't
• 1:02:20
Speaker 1: know Turk's last name is Turkleton and he's just calling
• 1:02:24
Speaker 1: him doctor Turk like he would call uh doctor Dorrian doctor.
• 1:02:28
Speaker 1: He would therefore be calling doctor Dorriyan doctor John. Or
• 1:02:33
Speaker 1: did they decide somewhere down the line, This is a
• 1:02:36
Speaker 1: good Bill Lawrence question. Did they decide somewhere down the
• 1:02:39
Speaker 1: line that Kelso just forgot Turk's name altogether?
• 1:02:43
Speaker 2: Okay, we'll ask Bill that here, Joelle, what was what
• 1:02:46
Speaker 2: was the intention? I imagine that someone just missed it and
• 1:02:49
Speaker 2: uh and decided it would be funny later on. If
• 1:02:52
Speaker 2: if Kelso had no idea what your name and thought
• 1:02:53
Speaker 2: your name was Turk Turkleton, which is very funny.
• 1:02:56
  Speaker 1: That's that's one of the funniest that's when. That's another
• 1:03:00
Speaker 1: thing that I really loved. I've been spewing about this,
• 1:03:07
Speaker 1: Judy because I really feel like our relationship is the one.
• 1:03:12
Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, they follow JD and Elliott throughout the show,
• 1:03:17
Speaker 1: but our relationship from the gate, from the beginning of
• 1:03:21
Speaker 1: the show to season eight is is you know, you
• 1:03:27
Speaker 1: watch it grow, and by season three, when we finally
• 1:03:33
Speaker 1: get into the wedding and all of that stuff, I
• 1:03:35
Speaker 1: really felt like it was earned. By the time we
• 1:03:38
Speaker 1: got there, you know what I mean, Like we had
• 1:03:40
Speaker 1: been through so many the characters had been through so
• 1:03:43
Speaker 1: many things, and so you know, when I look back
• 1:03:46
Speaker 1: at all of this stuff, when I look back at
• 1:03:48
Speaker 1: me singing Missus Jones and you know, me hiding in
• 1:03:51
Speaker 1: your in your closet at your mom's house, and then
• 1:03:54
Speaker 1: when you finally decide to move in, and you know,
• 1:03:57
Speaker 1: there's a breakup between Turk and Carl and all of
• 1:03:59
Speaker 1: that stuff before they get married, I feel like it's
• 1:04:02
Speaker 1: really earned. And I don't necessarily remember how the episode
• 1:04:06
Speaker 1: of us getting married turns out, but I just remember
• 1:04:08
Speaker 1: it feeling so epic when we were shooting it.
• 1:04:10
Speaker 3: You know what I mean, because.
• 1:04:12
Speaker 1: All of this stuff that we had been through and
• 1:04:14
Speaker 1: the first few seasons were coming to a head at
• 1:04:18
Speaker 1: at that point, and I just felt like our romance
• 1:04:21
Speaker 1: on the show was just you know, I said it
• 1:04:23
Speaker 1: to Bill, I think I thought it was perfect.
• 1:04:24
  Speaker 3: You didn't.
• 1:04:25
Speaker 1: You didn't necessarily need to watch the show to understand
• 1:04:29
Speaker 1: that Turk and Carla were the.
• 1:04:32
Speaker 4: Were they lung together? Yeah, were strength and the foundation. Yeah,
• 1:04:36
Speaker 4: a part of that, like in essence, kind of like
• 1:04:39
Speaker 4: the way the episode ends, it's kind of like the
• 1:04:44
Speaker 4: reason you belong in this place. And the way these
• 1:04:47
Speaker 4: people together like a family, it's kind of like, you know,
• 1:04:50
Speaker 4: they're like that parental force, the place that you belong,
• 1:04:53
Speaker 4: the reason that you feel like you go there, you
• 1:04:56
Speaker 4: know what I mean, like meant to be, you know,
• 1:05:00
Speaker 4: by the the fuck ups and the breakups and the
• 1:05:03
Speaker 4: ups and the downs. They're funny together. They understand each other.
• 1:05:09
Speaker 4: He's silly where she's a little too serious, because you
• 1:05:14
Speaker 4: can't have them both be silly at the same time,
• 1:05:18
Speaker 4: you know what I mean. She's she's got him. Yeah,
• 1:05:21
Speaker 4: she grounds him, and she grounds like a lot of
• 1:05:23
Speaker 4: other people, you know what I mean, Where she begs
• 1:05:26
Speaker 4: to be light when she's not. You know, she has
• 1:05:29
Speaker 4: to like loosen up sometimes, you know what I mean.
• 1:05:32
Speaker 4: Where she teaches people about the place that they're in,
• 1:05:36
Speaker 4: you know, where she where, she has to be taken
• 1:05:38
Speaker 4: out of there sometimes, kind of like cos has to
• 1:05:40
Speaker 4: be taken out of there sometimes, you know what I mean.
• 1:05:44
Speaker 4: So it's they they pull each other out of where
• 1:05:47
Speaker 4: they are and they bring each other to where they have.
• 1:05:49
  Speaker 7: To be.
• 1:05:51
Speaker 3: Very much and yang, you know what I mean.
• 1:05:53
Speaker 1: I remember somebody asking me, you know, what do you
• 1:05:56
Speaker 1: have in common with your wife? I was like, well,
• 1:05:58
Speaker 1: I don't have that much in common with my wife,
• 1:06:00
Speaker 1: to be honest with you. We do love each other
• 1:06:02
Speaker 1: passionately and stuff like that. That's the one thing we
• 1:06:05
Speaker 1: do have in common. But we're not necessarily the same people.
• 1:06:09
Speaker 1: And I think that's very much the same with Chris,
• 1:06:11
Speaker 1: Turk and Carla. I think that the two of them,
• 1:06:16
Speaker 1: they might be both from the Inner I don't even
• 1:06:19
Speaker 1: know that Turk is from the Inner City.
• 1:06:20
Speaker 3: I know Carl is from the Inner City.
• 1:06:21
Speaker 1: But Turk, in this episode, we discovered that he was
• 1:06:25
Speaker 1: always the black dude in this situation, you know what
• 1:06:29
Speaker 1: I mean. Even in the Science Fair where they give
• 1:06:32
Speaker 1: him the Blue ribbon even though he didn't compete in
• 1:06:35
Speaker 1: the science fair, and also at college, because they weren't
• 1:06:38
Speaker 1: a lot of black kids at the college, they put
• 1:06:40
Speaker 1: him in the brochure twice. But anyway, my point is
• 1:06:43
Speaker 1: their personalities aren't necessarily the same, but they complement each
• 1:06:47
  Speaker 1: other so well.
• 1:06:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, that is like you and Casey. I mean, it's
• 1:06:51
Speaker 2: funny you say that because you guys are so perfect together,
• 1:06:53
Speaker 2: but yeah, Ying Yang is the perfect.
• 1:06:55
  Speaker 3: We're completely different.
• 1:06:57
  Speaker 2: I think that's so different.
• 1:06:58
Speaker 3: Yeah. I think that's what worked about Carla and Turk.
• 1:07:01
Speaker 1: Carla is so serious and Turk's such a fucking goofball,
• 1:07:05
Speaker 1: but you put him together and you get like the
• 1:07:07
  Speaker 1: perfect couple.
• 1:07:08
Speaker 2: I want to just touch on the scene with Johnny
• 1:07:10
Speaker 2: c brates me at eighteen eighteen in the conference room.
• 1:07:13
Speaker 2: I thought Johnny's performance there was really really good and
• 1:07:17
Speaker 2: it's a really powerful scene. It was an early moment
• 1:07:20
Speaker 2: in Scrubs where he's just laying all out there. There's
• 1:07:22
Speaker 2: no score that's sort of forcing your your emotions. It
• 1:07:25
Speaker 2: was just like him just laying in to me. I
• 1:07:28
Speaker 2: thought he was really good there.
• 1:07:29
Speaker 4: I thought it was great in it, and I you know,
• 1:07:31
Speaker 4: I watched it twice, the episode, and I remember when
• 1:07:35
Speaker 4: I first what I do remember about the episode and
• 1:07:40
Speaker 4: having seen when I saw it initially, it was like
• 1:07:43
Speaker 4: he's just so hard on him. We know, but I'm
• 1:07:46
Speaker 4: a parent now and my husband, who's like coaches sucker
• 1:07:52
Speaker 4: is hard like that, and he's hard like that on
• 1:07:53
Speaker 4: my daughter, and I get it, do you know what
• 1:07:56
Speaker 4: I mean? It was like shit, I get it. You know.
• 1:08:01
Speaker 4: It's like a person who wants approval can be so
• 1:08:05
Speaker 4: satisfied with being liked and everybody being okay with you know,
• 1:08:10
Speaker 4: thinking that you're good or being approved by everyone around you,
• 1:08:16
Speaker 4: instead of knowing that the job that they're doing is
• 1:08:19
Speaker 4: a good job, or you knowing that what you did
• 1:08:22
Speaker 4: was well done, instead of people liking you or liking
• 1:08:25
Speaker 4: what you did, you know, And that's a really hard
• 1:08:28
Speaker 4: place to be when you have to look at yourself,
• 1:08:31
Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. And watching it was like shit,
• 1:08:33
Speaker 4: that was so good, which Johnny C is Like, no
• 1:08:37
Speaker 4: one's harder on Johnny C than Johnny Z. You know
• 1:08:39
  Speaker 4: what I mean.
• 1:08:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, he really brought it. I mean, I just I thought,
• 1:08:43
Speaker 2: you know, it's a pretty big speech he had and
• 1:08:45
  Speaker 2: he just I don't know. I got goosebumps when I
• 1:08:47
  Speaker 2: was watching it.
• 1:08:47
Speaker 4: But he's relentless like that.
• 1:08:49
Speaker 2: There's a funny moment in nineteen forty nine when Elliott
• 1:08:52
Speaker 2: offers to give your friend valume. I'm like, a doctor's
• 1:08:54
Speaker 2: allowed to do that? Like, your friend is upset because
• 1:08:56
Speaker 2: her son got stabbed, and don't worry, We're going to
• 1:08:59
Speaker 2: set you up with a volume in an IV drip.
• 1:09:01
  Speaker 2: I was like, what that's a thing.
• 1:09:02
Speaker 1: That I mean, it's if it's not, it should be
• 1:09:06
Speaker 1: because I would need it if my kid got stabbed.
• 1:09:07
Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you that right now.
• 1:09:08
  Speaker 2: I just didn't know. I didn't know if you're I
• 1:09:12
Speaker 2: just didn't know if doctors are allowed to like just
• 1:09:14
Speaker 2: start throwing around valume for people that are upset, well
• 1:09:17
  Speaker 2: with the stuff.
• 1:09:17
Speaker 4: That's out now, that's like nothing. So I'll give you
• 1:09:20
Speaker 4: two xanax and an opiate. Really fine.
• 1:09:25
  Speaker 2: He's like, I'm worried. I'm worried about you. I'm gonna
• 1:09:27
Speaker 2: set you up in a room with a valume and
• 1:09:28
Speaker 2: a drip. I was like, really, go Elliott in an inner.
• 1:09:32
Speaker 4: City hospital with people like pouring out the doors. But
• 1:09:35
Speaker 4: you know you got to work for you.
• 1:09:36
  Speaker 3: That's what's messed up.
• 1:09:37
Speaker 1: It's an inner city hospital that's so heavily that so
• 1:09:41
Speaker 1: heavily relies on insurance.
• 1:09:44
Speaker 4: It was twenty years ago, Fazon.
• 1:09:46
Speaker 1: I just saying, this ship is still prevalent, and this
• 1:09:49
Speaker 1: is still real today though I'm just keeping it one hundred.
• 1:09:52
Speaker 2: At nineteen fifty eight. It maybe the very first occurrence
• 1:09:55
Speaker 2: of the sad Scrubs queue. That's the first time I
• 1:10:09
  Speaker 2: heard it.
• 1:10:10
Speaker 4: Okay, but those are your weekscues.
• 1:10:14
Speaker 1: Who don't know this Scrubs cue will go on for
• 1:10:16
Speaker 1: a really long time until finally we started making fun
• 1:10:21
Speaker 1: of it so much.
• 1:10:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, that JD starts commenting on the side SCA.
• 1:10:25
Speaker 3: Right, and it gets taken out of the show because
• 1:10:28
  Speaker 3: of that.
• 1:10:28
Speaker 2: I think what happened was the season does it get
• 1:10:30
  Speaker 2: taken out?
• 1:10:31
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 1:10:32
Speaker 2: I think the composer. The composer made it like a
• 1:10:34
Speaker 2: handful of cues, and then these guys just use the
• 1:10:37
Speaker 2: same cues over and over again. There's not that many,
• 1:10:39
Speaker 2: you know, when we don't use music, there's not that
• 1:10:41
Speaker 2: many scrubs cues. It's like bounce bow that was that
• 1:10:47
Speaker 2: would be like a sting when something funny happened just go.
• 1:10:49
Speaker 1: Bound after something Robert said to get everything, Match said Benine,
• 1:10:56
Speaker 1: Benine and a half.
• 1:10:57
Speaker 2: Down, that's the janitor, but nine but nine and a half.
• 1:11:01
Speaker 3: Donald, I thought that was.
• 1:11:03
Speaker 2: That's the episode where I have to look at the janitors.
• 1:11:05
  Speaker 2: I catch a look at the janitor's penis and I
• 1:11:08
Speaker 2: and I noticed that there's a mole on it and
• 1:11:11
Speaker 2: I and then I have to inspect it and I go,
• 1:11:14
Speaker 2: it's Benign and he goes, Benign be nine and a half.
• 1:11:17
Speaker 3: I thought that was the time that said that this
• 1:11:19
Speaker 3: whole time. That's hilarious.
• 1:11:25
Speaker 1: Like I said, I don't remember this show I was on,
• 1:11:27
Speaker 1: and I don't remember much about it.

• 1:11:57
Speaker 2: our theme song that ends the show. Donald prefers to
• 1:12:01
Speaker 2: go five six seven eight. I I don't know how
• 1:12:05
Speaker 2: you feel you can count in any way.
• 1:12:06
