- 2:44with us. We're going to start the show
- 2:46early because we told him to bring him on and you know, he's
- 2:49been in the box since, I don't know, 7:45, so.
- 2:53Something like that. We're going to wrestle.
- 2:55That's Jesse from Apex Wrestling at the.
- 2:59Owner. The owner of Apex Wrestling out
- 3:01of North Carolina and Jesse, we're going to, we're going to
- 3:05come right back to you. We normally start our show
- 3:07talking about wrestling. And cigars.
- 3:10And then we take it over to our interview.
- 3:12Take it over to you. So give us a few minutes, We'll
- 3:14be right there. So hey.
- 3:15What do you got to do, man? I'm just happy to be here.
- 3:20OG What are you smoking today? Yeah, I got nothing lit up right
- 3:23now. Well then you're you're behind
- 3:26the 8 ball. Uh.
- 3:27Oh well, I'm still recovering from a little bit of a cold.
- 3:30Just got my voice back today, so I got to ease back into it a
- 3:34little bit. OK.
- 3:36Yeah, me too. I'm smoking the McAuliffe Torsa,
- 3:41the orders, Churchill Box pressed.
- 3:48And I'm smoking McAuliffe. Yes.
- 3:53Nice. The these are, I believe they're
- 3:55naturals is the wrapper. This is just another brand that,
- 4:02as you know, Gee, you can't find in New York.
- 4:04It's very hard to find. Very very hard to find.
- 4:08Matter of fact, you got to order online.
- 4:10Well, no, no. When you come down, we can go to
- 4:12Kevin. So he has.
- 4:13I'll take you to Connecticut. When you come down, we'll go out
- 4:16there. You just bring your.
- 4:18Credit card to be a A. Kid in the candy store.
- 4:20I told you that. Before Yeah, it's gonna.
- 4:22It's gonna cost a little bit of money for you, but you'll.
- 4:24Enjoy it, you'll be like. Wow, I didn't see these in that
- 4:27store. I didn't see these in that
- 4:28store. I didn't see these.
- 4:29You don't work, I would like. To I mean, you know me, you know
- 4:32me. I'm a cheapskate.
- 4:33I don't spend anything when I go down.
- 4:35Right guys. Yeah, No, not at all.
- 4:38No, not. At all?
- 4:39Not at all. I will tell you that I did go
- 4:43looking for the Bloche Blvd. By West Tampa.
- 4:50The kids said it hadn't shipped yet.
- 4:53I know it it it's out because stores have it.
- 4:56Just don't know if he's gotten it yet.
- 5:00The owner wasn't there, so I couldn't ask him because I I
- 5:03did. That was my sole purpose for
- 5:05going there yesterday was to go see if I can get my hands on
- 5:10that because I've been really, really, really interested in it.
- 5:14But the guy said it didn't ship, although he does have the new
- 5:20Cinco, Cinco de Cinco, the Hoya de Nicaragua with a green label.
- 5:24He does that. He does have that.
- 5:29I did see it. I didn't pick it up.
- 5:32So let's talk. So tell me about the Tell me
- 5:35about those smokes you got lit up.
- 5:36Tell me a little bit about it. What kind of wrapper?
- 5:39What's the what are the notes you getting from it?
- 5:41Mccaliff. Is McAuliffe is a rich gentleman
- 5:46out of Texas. He's been doing this, jeez, 34
- 5:53to 50 years. But his cigars, I found, you
- 5:56know what? I found them on Facebook.
- 5:58And we went to a event about four years ago out in
- 6:03Pennsylvania. We went to a warehouse that
- 6:05doesn't open to the public. They open to the public on Black
- 6:09Friday. So what did I do?
- 6:10I bought tickets. We left here, I don't know, 5:30
- 6:14in the morning. 4 hour ride. We got out there by 8.
- 6:17There were already people sitting in their chairs.
- 6:19So what I do, I pulled up my chair, whipped out the liquor
- 6:21and started smoking. And then we go inside.
- 6:25We go inside the warehouse and you know, that's where we met
- 6:30half the people that we know. Actually, you know when we did
- 6:32was the first time we had these was I was just thinking about
- 6:35it. It was that was where we were
- 6:37able to pick them up. The first time we had it was
- 6:39smoke in was there cigar the month club bag.
- 6:42Cigar the Month Club. I think it was the the Modifina.
- 6:45This is a A I'm going to say it's a natural rapper.
- 6:51Let me let me pull it up and and get you the correct stuff
- 6:54because I I I think it's a natural.
- 6:57I don't know much about this smoke as far as like binder
- 7:00filler, you know, I I never really looked into it but.
- 7:04You know what? As far as I know, it's a natural
- 7:06rapper. This is their, their, but one of
- 7:08their budget smokes their everyday 5-6 dollar cigars.
- 7:12You know, just like just like this one here is the the A, this
- 7:17is their 6 by 60. It's the same thing.
- 7:19It's like 5 to 8 bucks a stick and.
- 7:22For you guys that don't know, they just they just merged with
- 7:25all sandwich, just merged with McCallum.
- 7:28I just happen to have, you know, in my hand, out of pure, just
- 7:33pure luck. I just happen to have that in my
- 7:36hand. Who knew?
- 7:40I don't think anybody believes that it's.
- 7:43Just the thing. I don't believe that.
- 7:44Otherwise I'd be a fucking millionaire.
- 7:46He's he's out of he's out of Texas.
- 7:50He's an older guy you know great smoke.
- 7:54He puts, he has a a collection that he put the together.
- 7:59It's called the Macaliph Collection and it's all the just
- 8:02cigars that he smokes. Well, a lot of that.
- 8:06There are some that are that were made for him, right.
- 8:09There's then the rest of them are like kind of his his legacy
- 8:13lines, which is like the the Leyonda I believe the Torsadores
- 8:20which is like A they're Torsadores which is what we're
- 8:23smoking is they're like they're bundled smoke.
- 8:28It's their bundle stick which is usually 20 to 25 a bundle.
- 8:36But I mean for 5-6 bucks a stick, I went one day and picked
- 8:41up all their different sizes. I think it cost me 3050 bucks
- 8:49for like 6 cigars for all of their their torso doors.
- 8:55But the the A, the A comes in at Churchill which was the first
- 9:01size that I had of the the A, which is a a Maduro, it's they
- 9:05come in boxes. They also come in bundles but
- 9:12you know it's it's one of those cigars that when I went to that
- 9:17shop, the owner who knows me well enough doesn't hold
- 9:21anything back from me. He's he's just like I am.
- 9:24You know, when it comes to certain cigars, he tells you how
- 9:27it is. And even he said to me, he goes,
- 9:30you should, you should pick that up and try that.
- 9:32He goes, 'cause you can't go wrong with it.
- 9:35And you know, I that was the only size I was smoking.
- 9:38And then we went yesterday again.
- 9:41Just and why another? Year can become an ambassador
- 9:43for Macau. If you just got to sign up.
- 9:44Yes, they. Send you a coin.
- 9:46I got 2 coins. I have an embarrassing it twice.
- 9:48I have a coin for it somewhere I have to find it.
- 9:51I got mine. I got mine somewhere.
- 9:54Yeah, I have a Macau of coin somewhere.
- 9:56I don't remember where it is. It's in one of my many
- 9:58collections of bags and swag and whatever else you want to say
- 10:05that I have. I have a whole table full of
- 10:07stuff next to my humidor cutters, lighters, ashtrays,
- 10:12boxes, cigar stands, patches, poker chips.
- 10:19But this is this is a good cigar.
- 10:22I like, OK, So what? We are smoking.
- 10:25I'm going to give you the Churchill brand, but it's.
- 10:27Well, it's the same thing either.
- 10:29Way. So it's a mile or medium
- 10:31strength. The torpedoes are 6 by 52 and
- 10:36the Churchill is a 7 by 54. The Rapids of San Andreas,
- 10:39Sumatra, the bonders, Honduras and the Phyllis, Nicaraguan
- 10:44Republic, Dominican Republic and Peru.
- 10:47That's these. Or do these come into Maduro?
- 10:49No, that's them. Oh, see, I didn't even know that
- 10:54these were. Yes.
- 10:55I didn't know that. They were in San Andreas.
- 10:57It's a San Andreas. Sumatra I thought these were a
- 11:00natural. Honduras find the Nicaragua,
- 11:03Dominican Republic and Peru filler.
- 11:06That's why those who are good. For those who haven't had
- 11:09Macaliff, I would. I would suggest seeing if you
- 11:15can get your hands on them. I know smoking sells them.
- 11:18I believe Famous might even sell them, but they're they don't.
- 11:21They're in a lot of retailers, but they're they're very hard to
- 11:24get a hold of, if that makes any sense.
- 11:30So now let's get into a little bit of wrestling.
- 11:34So Jay and Jimmy USO can now do the yeet it's been it's been
- 11:38satisfied which means they gave the guy some money.
- 11:41That's what that means to me. What do you think, OG?
- 11:47Yeah, you know it's this whole bloodline thing is really
- 11:51interesting. I didn't think Jay had it in him
- 11:53to kind of be an individual star.
- 11:55I always thought that maybe he was the guy that always needed
- 11:59people around him, a bloodline, A tag partner.
- 12:02But man, Jay proved me wrong, man.
- 12:05He got the money when he went to Raw and he's he's living up to
- 12:09everything that he, you know, he personally believed in himself.
- 12:14And I got, I don't know. I I'm not sure how many people
- 12:18believed in him at first but man when he we he went on his own on
- 12:22Raw he just took off. And I'm a believer now.
- 12:25I believe in, well, in Jay. You know, the Bloodline is
- 12:30probably the greatest faction in, I won't go as far to say all
- 12:37of wrestling ever, but definitely in WWE in my opinion.
- 12:44Yeah, I mean, that's kind of where I got my stand on Jay.
- 12:46I'm not really sure on the others yet.
- 12:48I still think Roman Reigns needed the Bloodline.
- 12:51Roman Reigns needs Paul Heyman. I, I, I, I'm just not a believer
- 12:58in Roman Reigns. Good, but even when he was with,
- 13:02even when he was with the other group.
- 13:05The Shields. He needed the shield.
- 13:07Yeah. You.
- 13:08Noticed Daniel Bryan? No, not Daniel.
- 13:10Dean Ambrose. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins
- 13:13are the ones that did like the interviews and stuff.
- 13:16And. Back there, shook his head.
- 13:18But I got to tell you, do you realize that the Samoan dynasty
- 13:23is the biggest family in professional wrestling today?
- 13:28Oh yeah, I listen, I. That's.
- 13:30That's one. Bigger than them.
- 13:32Yeah, I I, you know, I'm not arguing that.
- 13:35I'm I'm just talking about my particular views on Roman
- 13:39Reigns. I mean you look at all the
- 13:41Champions that have been in wrestling over the years.
- 13:44Yeah, you know, you had guys like Rick Flair.
- 13:47Rick really didn't need anybody to intervene in his matches and
- 13:51help him out, did he? From time to time, Absolutely.
- 13:54I mean manager. Because Rick could talk right
- 13:56around anybody and everybody. It didn't matter where you were.
- 14:02It it took the WWE Universe to really come around to Roman
- 14:06Reigns and listen I I get it you know he's got a pretty smile you
- 14:12know he he's a good looking Samoan.
- 14:15I mean you know hey but if you want to talk about champion,
- 14:21like who champions are and what champions represent in wrestling
- 14:25in my opinion Roman Reigns is not it.
- 14:28They oversell he. Does not defend it like he
- 14:31should. And you know most champions that
- 14:35are champions. And we can go back to Dusty
- 14:38Rhodes, we can go back to Ric Flair, we can go back to Sting.
- 14:42We can go back to Blackjack, Mulligan and all them guys.
- 14:46They didn't need a mouthpiece. They they word of mouthpiece
- 14:49they might have had. Listen, you might have had
- 14:51classy Freddie Blass, a God rest his soul.
- 14:53I love him. A man of death.
- 14:54I met him several times, him and Lou and Lou's.
- 14:58My Uncle Lou, he's. Lou was like an uncle to me,
- 15:00man. My Uncle Lou is, is.
- 15:01He was the man. And Uncle Lou would tell you,
- 15:03shut up, I got this. And then all he would tell you
- 15:06is say one word and that's it. And you say that one word.
- 15:09Ox Baker. I had ox Baker.
- 15:14Yeah, you know. Up in, they're just a mess.
- 15:18And and let me tell you, Ox, Baker's standing there, he's
- 15:20calling the shots. He's like put him in a headlock,
- 15:24body slam him, he's throwing out and I'm standing there like,
- 15:26holy shit, he's like throwing, he's throwing the spots out.
- 15:29And but that was the late, great ox Baker.
- 15:32He didn't care. He didn't.
- 15:34Care. Well, listen, I think I here and
- 15:36listen, I'm going to be blackballed for this and people
- 15:38won't like what I have to say about this.
- 15:40But Hulk Hogan tarnished his name and who he was in my
- 15:45opinion, as a champion that won clean.
- 15:48And you know when he started his faction with.
- 15:52What was it? NWO like, listen, Hogan was a
- 15:57great champion. He didn't need NWOI mean, I know
- 16:01they were trying to turn him heel, I get that.
- 16:04But, you know, listen, he he that's what it was.
- 16:10Yeah, I know. But what am I saying is, for
- 16:13Hogan, he didn't need that. So, so now now here's.
- 16:20Here's my hulkamania is bigger than NWO.
- 16:23Hulkamania was but you? Got to change with the times.
- 16:27What's the one thing that Hogan never did?
- 16:30Never became a heel. Hogan never turned heel, and
- 16:34that's because. Vince.
- 16:37Vince. I don't think he needed to.
- 16:39Vince made him a man. I don't.
- 16:40Think he needed to? I personally think him being a
- 16:45face was great. He ran the company for so long
- 16:48he was a mega *. When he became Mr. USA.
- 16:51When he turned, when he turned heel in the 90s in the
- 16:56northwest, I mean look, they turned.
- 16:59They turned Kevin Nash and Scott Hall heel along with Hogan.
- 17:03All they ever were were baby faces.
- 17:06They went to heel and I think personally it added to their
- 17:11legacy because it showed they could do both sides.
- 17:16Listen, I see that point of view.
- 17:17I'm not saying you're wrong. I just, I disagree.
- 17:20I think the A. Heel when he.
- 17:24Was I know, I know. Economics and then like like Jim
- 17:27Cornette said on a podcast a while back, I think it was
- 17:31Jericho's podcast. You know, Cena's a baby face.
- 17:35So somebody asked him why won't they ever turn Cena heel?
- 17:39And like he said, just like holy, if I was their banker in
- 17:46the WWEI wouldn't want them to turn him heel, right?
- 17:49Because if you turn him heel, you might lose all those merch
- 17:55sales and those millions and millions and millions of dollars
- 18:00that I'm sure he's making them without even being there, right?
- 18:02Now, well, I I just think there's there's characters over
- 18:06time that that can hold who they are in their character for an
- 18:12extended period times. I always felt like Hulk Hogan
- 18:15was that guy. He didn't need to go healed.
- 18:17He was Hulk Hogan, like the. Undertaker See how The
- 18:22Undertaker changed with the time she went from The Undertaker to
- 18:28to Dead Man. Oh, there's my buddy.
- 18:31To badass to the brothers of Destruction.
- 18:36So you know and and and and I watched the interview with Mark
- 18:41and Mark said you know listen you and we've had this
- 18:45conversation last week. OG you have to change with the
- 18:48times because you know what? Listen, I could be big Dog for
- 18:5225 years. I could come out with my uncle
- 18:55stuff on the moon dog stuff. But guess what they don't want a
- 18:59lot of these young kids don't know the moon dogs.
- 19:01Now I got to change into their gimmicks.
- 19:02I got to change into their. I got to change into what they
- 19:05they. They see a pro wrestler as now,
- 19:09you know what I mean? So I got.
- 19:10To come out. Yeah.
- 19:11Listen, I I don't disagree with what you're saying.
- 19:15I'm saying they're just characters over time in in pick
- 19:18the wrestling brand that are so, so captivating and universal.
- 19:24Like Hulk Hogan didn't need to. I mean yes, at times he he, he
- 19:32switched to quote UN quote like heel.
- 19:34But never the extreme of NWO. Hulk Hogan didn't need NWO.
- 19:39He could have been a bad guy on his own.
- 19:41He didn't. He didn't need a faction to help
- 19:43him with that, in my opinion. Rich Coupe just said NWO helped
- 19:48so many wrestlers get noticed and added to their carriers.
- 19:52Hulk Hogan started that or doing what he did as a * and he pushed
- 19:56a lot of wrestlers, which is true.
- 19:59He did. He pushed a lot of wrestlers.
- 20:00I mean, he pushed guys that weren't going to get a push.
- 20:04You know what I mean? I don't disagree with any of it.
- 20:08Does anybody remember that Hulk Hogan used to work on the docks?
- 20:13And you know who found him? The person that found him
- 20:20brought him in. He was a dock worker.
- 20:22He was fucking slinging hay and all that shit you put on the
- 20:26boats and he found him and said I think you'd be a great
- 20:31professional wrestler and he goes, ah, you know, and they go,
- 20:34what's your name? He goes Terry Bolia.
- 20:36They go, no, no, we got to change that and that's how they
- 20:38came up with Hulk Hogan, you know, and.
- 20:40I mean, yeah, listen again, I'm not.
- 20:43I'm not. I'm not telling anybody that
- 20:45they're wrong. I'm not saying that, you know
- 20:48I'm correct. I'm just giving you my point of
- 20:50view that Hulk Hogan's one of those.
- 20:52Characters in my. Opinion that did not need to do
- 20:55that. I go back to I'm an old guy.
- 20:58I let you know. Here's a guy who didn't have to
- 21:00do that either. Superstar Billy Graham.
- 21:02He was superstar Billy Graham. He didn't need any other gimmick
- 21:06than who he was. You could say the same.
- 21:09That's my that's just my point with Hogan.
- 21:12You could say the same. Thing in Ventura or.
- 21:14Jesse Ventura So like my man. Apex said he said they tried to
- 21:21turn Hogan heel when he went up against the rock, but Hogan came
- 21:24out and the crowd treated him like a babyface.
- 21:26Him and the Rock swapped rolls in that Prince.
- 21:29And that's a great conversation here.
- 21:31We will hear about that. So on that note, ladies and
- 21:33gentlemen, we got to take a commercial break.
- 21:35Yo, do me a favor. Ring that bell?
- 21:40I'm wearing my belt. I'm in mine.
- 22:20Hey, it's Michelle from Park Lane on Tobacconist.
- 22:23Come on down for a great selection of pipe, tobaccos,
- 22:26cigars, accessories, you name it, come on down and check this
- 22:29out. I want to thank Turnbuckles and
- 22:31Stogies for promoting us on their program and back to them
- 22:34at MBR Radio. Welcome back, welcome back.
- 22:52So we are back Boss Dog, Big Dog, the OG Cigar Pender and the
- 22:57one and only Vanilla Gorilla. And today we are joined by the
- 23:04CEO, the Founder and a veteran of the United States, Mr., Jesse
- 23:12himself from Apex Championship Wrestling at a New Bern, North
- 23:17Carolina. Jesse, how you doing today,
- 23:20brother? I'm doing good.
- 23:22I think you're giving me a little too too much credit with
- 23:24the CEO portion though, I gotta say.
- 23:28Well, hey, you own it. So you're the CEO brother.
- 23:33I mean, unless the wife has a stake in this thing, you know,
- 23:35then you know. Well, she's married to me.
- 23:37She has a stake in everything, so I mean.
- 23:39She's the boss. Yeah, exactly.
- 23:42Exactly. So tell us a little bit about
- 23:46yourself and the Federation. Well, I don't even know where to
- 23:52begin to tell, tell about myself, honestly.
- 23:54You know, I'm just a big nerd, really.
- 23:57That's and a big ball of it. I'm just a nerd.
- 24:00I'm. A nerd.
- 24:06No, I I pretty much come from nothing.
- 24:09And I'm pretty much still come from nothing, you know, Always
- 24:14had a hard time growing up with my dad, jumping from place to
- 24:17place, you know, watching him have his own businesses and then
- 24:23having to close them down for one reason or another.
- 24:29But yeah, man, I just love life. I, I treat it to the fullest.
- 24:32Man, that's that's pretty much me.
- 24:34You know, I'm, I'm the biggest teddy bear you can meet.
- 24:36Or I could be your worst enemy at the same time, you know.
- 24:39So I mean. Well, thank you for your
- 24:44service, brother. I appreciate it.
- 24:46What's? What branch were you in, my
- 24:47friend? I was army, I was in the
- 24:49infantry. Fantastic.
- 24:52I was not in the infantry, but I was in the Army as well.
- 24:55I was in the medical field. I worked in the operating and in
- 24:57the mass units. Well, there's no more mass units
- 24:59anymore, but that's what I was. That's how long ago I was in the
- 25:04military. I was actually, I went from from
- 25:08Army to Army Reserves and I was actually here in Albany.
- 25:11We were in the very last mass unit, the 364 thought of Albany,
- 25:16which disbanded. I think.
- 25:19I can't even tell you when 10 plus years ago.
- 25:21But anyway, I just want to thank you for your service and go
- 25:24Army. Yeah.
- 25:25They beat Navy. Oh, yes.
- 25:27Let's talk about that game. Let's talk about that game,
- 25:30that. In a little while, hold.
- 25:32On. So let's talk about that day and
- 25:34being that we got two Army vets on here.
- 25:36So, yo, what do you think of that quarterback daily?
- 25:41That kid is a beast now. I will, I think, but keep
- 25:45running. Yeah, I will be the first to
- 25:47admit that I could not watch the game yesterday.
- 25:51I was keeping track of the score, but from what I hear, I
- 25:56mean, I heard good things all around and some bad things, but
- 26:00I heard good things all around. You know the the top part about
- 26:06any of the branch college football teams are the fact that
- 26:11the talent pool is kind of thinned down a little bit from
- 26:14the military. You don't have that broad
- 26:16exposure that the rest of college football has.
- 26:21But that being said, if these any of the branches to get their
- 26:26act together and we're you know recruit some athletes and they
- 26:30could really make a splash in in college football.
- 26:33The army man, I watched 3/4 of of that game and Army defense is
- 26:40actually pretty silent for a bunch of no neighbors and the
- 26:44quarterback is really solid. The problem is he doesn't have
- 26:47any other pieces around him. So he's got to kind of you know
- 26:50they kind of build that offerings around Dinkin and
- 26:53Duncan. A lot of running.
- 26:54Army does a lot of running and it's going to be tough.
- 26:59Yeah, you. Know you know, OG now is part of
- 27:04the Big 10 starting next year. Yeah, it's crazy to think
- 27:07they're going to. Be part of the Big 10 next.
- 27:09Year. The Big 10 is a deep conference.
- 27:12Part of the. Big 10, the Big 10 is a is a
- 27:14deep and and it's a deep. I'm going to be, I'm going to be
- 27:19torn when they go up against Michigan, I'll tell you that I.
- 27:22Was just going to say not only is it a deep conference, it's a
- 27:26strong conference, It's a. Very strong.
- 27:29It's. Loaded with teams.
- 27:32Morning, Bernie. Yeah.
- 27:33Bernie, my man, what's up? So let's get back to my man
- 27:36Jesse here. So Jesse, so who trained you and
- 27:42how long you've been wrestling? So I was originally trained by
- 27:49Charles Durning, who's my name is, is Draven Blaze.
- 27:56His father was Jesse Dernig. He.
- 28:00I don't know if there was multiple, I can't remember at
- 28:02the top of my head, but he at one point played the dark
- 28:04patriot in the WCW, at one point his father, so I was trained by
- 28:12him. And Charles Dernig is also a
- 28:13fellow Army veteran as well. But you know, he did real good
- 28:21with me. He got me started got me going.
- 28:26I had nothing but respect for the man.
- 28:29Actually after a while I had to I kind of give it up because at
- 28:33the time my my daughter's mother when I was still with her and my
- 28:37father kept saying, well you know you got you need to get out
- 28:40of it. It's a it's a real dumb way to
- 28:41make money. You know this that the other
- 28:43thing and I was like oh whatever, you know make
- 28:46everybody happy leave it for for a little while.
- 28:49Then I moved down here and I met one of my good friends and he
- 28:55was starting his own promotion. But you know, he was, he had
- 28:59trained and done his stuff. And I said, hey man, I got some
- 29:02ring rust, you know, can you help me shake it off?
- 29:04And he's like, yeah, man. So I started you know kind of
- 29:07shaking ring rust off and and as payment to him you know I was
- 29:12repping his some of his shows or his only show as of right now.
- 29:16But I wrapped his show for free. I was trying to be one of his
- 29:19office guys and help him out because he's like I don't like
- 29:22talking on the phone. I don't like doing this.
- 29:24I don't like doing that. I just want to point and say yes
- 29:26or no. So it's all right man.
- 29:28I got you. So I did a bunch of different
- 29:33things for him as as you know hey thank you for it is because
- 29:37I can't afford what you want in payment.
- 29:41So let me offer you a service. Right.
- 29:45So now with that being said, I see a lot of stuff hanging up in
- 29:50the back. Oh yeah.
- 29:53Tell us a little bit about all that stuff hanging, all that
- 29:55memorabilia you got hanging up in the back.
- 29:57So everything I got is, is. So I got my boots, my pants, my
- 30:05shirt, my ring shirt, and my my vest.
- 30:09Every aside from my boots, I'm the kind of guy that likes to
- 30:15try to save money. Because if I had the money, you
- 30:19know, as you guys were advertising, I have a GoFundMe.
- 30:22If I had the money, I'd have the ring.
- 30:23But I'd like to try to save money.
- 30:25So I try to make what I can for my gear.
- 30:31So you know, Army Navy store, the old BD, US, Walmart, what is
- 30:41it, a tank top? And this is actually when I was
- 30:44doing Civil War reenacting, this was my old shirt, Civil War
- 30:47reenacting shirt that I just cut up into a vest.
- 30:53So I mean, it looks the part that I need to look at.
- 30:58I do have this fancy thing. I heard you guys before we
- 31:01started the show talking about this.
- 31:06So this is my ring bell that I made for Apex.
- 31:10Literally just got a fire bell off of Amazon and and it works.
- 31:15So I mean. I I like it because it's got
- 31:18that old school, that old school look.
- 31:22Right. Yep, that's that.
- 31:24You know, Now, the chair behind me, this.
- 31:26Hold on, Give. Me one second.
- 31:27Let me do this announcement. So anybody wants some texting,
- 31:30Call 7 two O 619. 72O. 720-619-0627, you can text and
- 31:37call in. We're taking calls, so feel free
- 31:40to text us or call us. We prefer to call if you want so
- 31:43we can talk to you and have you on live, live streaming.
- 31:47So please text and call 720-619-0627.
- 31:51Back to you, Jesse. Yeah so and then just to tell
- 31:55you a little bit about this, it's real quick.
- 31:58My buddy during his his promotions first show I wrapped
- 32:02his hardcore match for him which was for the heavyweight title.
- 32:08At which point at some point in the match I was speared through
- 32:13plywood as the ref and you know knocked out.
- 32:18You had to get, had the other ref come drag me out, got me to
- 32:22the back and I'm, I'm in pain watching the monitors and I
- 32:27watched my buddy, he gets suplexed into two chairs and
- 32:32this is one of the chairs he was suplexed through.
- 32:34And after the show I said you know what man, it was you did
- 32:38good for your day promotions debuted this and that.
- 32:41I'm taking that chair as a souvenir.
- 32:44Nice. Yeah.
- 32:45You know. A lot of people don't realize,
- 32:47man, you know, if I've saved everything I've been put through
- 32:50and everything I've been hit with, I'd have no room.
- 32:54Right. You know, I've been doing this
- 32:5625 years and and it's just it's incredible how you and I met.
- 33:02You and I met. I seen a post on one of the
- 33:05Facebook groups. Sent it to me, sent it to.
- 33:07Him. He hooked up with you and then
- 33:09we made the phone call and that's how Jesse and I met and
- 33:13hoping to work for the guy and you know we can bring this guy
- 33:15with us here. You know this guy over there,
- 33:17the the Co host that guy Co host that guy up in the.
- 33:19Corner that other guy there. We go that guy.
- 33:23That guy. Who's sitting there with his
- 33:25arms folded? He could do ring announcing or
- 33:27whatever, you know, we'll bring him.
- 33:29Down listen, I listen. I got to tell you this.
- 33:32I listen. Super.
- 33:36You know, like you a geek when it comes to that and people
- 33:39still bust my chops and about it, but I don't care.
- 33:42But that being said, I've never wanted to be a wrestler.
- 33:47Just putting it out there, 'cause these guys know I
- 33:50actually always dreamed of being a manager.
- 33:52So I'm just saying, I'm just saying, well.
- 33:55You still got to think of Bump. Hey, I can do that once.
- 34:02Hey, everybody has a bump card. You know, everybody has that
- 34:05bump card. You know, as you get older, you
- 34:07know you you got to lessen those bumps you take.
- 34:12OK, guys. Let's go to the question of the
- 34:15day from the listeners. But we don't have one yet.
- 34:17Oh, we don't have one. We're we're getting one.
- 34:19Don't worry. Trust me.
- 34:21Give it time. There's people here watching.
- 34:23Anybody have a question of the day?
- 34:24Let us know. We will.
- 34:26We'll put it out there. Like I said, you can text or
- 34:28call 720-619-0627 and you can get live with Boss Dog, the
- 34:33Vanilla Gorilla, the OG and Mr. Jesse himself from Apex
- 34:37Championship Wrestling at a New Bern, NC so on that note.
- 34:44So, so let me let me ask you a question since I get this
- 34:47question all the time. What what made you want to
- 34:51become a wrestler? Because I I get asked that quite
- 34:56a bit myself. So I I'm always curious to hear
- 35:00what everybody else's story is. Right.
- 35:04And I that's actually one of the most common questions amongst
- 35:07all wrestlers, right to the lowest guy in the Indies, to the
- 35:11highest guy on the top of the the the televised programs.
- 35:15You know what made you want to be a wrestler?
- 35:19You know, growing up, yeah, I was born in 94, so I'm.
- 35:24I'm still young, but not young. At least you know the Gray.
- 35:27My beard doesn't. I'm the oldest guy out here.
- 35:31But anyway, you know, late 90s, early 2000s.
- 35:36You know, I watched wrestling with my, my older brother, my,
- 35:41my, my cousins. I remember with my brother, he
- 35:47would set up a mattress behind him and let me just, you know,
- 35:50as a little short thing, built nothing, pretend to choke, slam
- 35:55em and crossbody. And then 'cause that was our
- 35:59bonding, you know, That was my older brother.
- 36:03As I grew, you know, at first it didn't really didn't click into
- 36:06me because the main thing that was in my head, because my
- 36:09father was in the Army, he was also infantry, was a sniper.
- 36:12And and he goes, you know, I've always said, Dad, since I was
- 36:18five years old, Dad, I'm going to join the military.
- 36:19Dad, I want to join the military.
- 36:20That's what I want to do. And then it wasn't until I went
- 36:26into the military, said, you know what?
- 36:28Because I still love wrestling, still love watching it.
- 36:32I got to figure out how I I get into this.
- 36:37So I found Charles just at oh God online somehow, and I
- 36:46reached out to him. I said, hey man, let me.
- 36:50Can I come try out? I'd love to do this and do that.
- 36:53He's like, well, we got a show here.
- 36:54If you make it here, I'll give you a try out, see where you're
- 36:57at. Well, in middle school I used to
- 36:59train myself. Watch all these videos and stuff
- 37:02like that. Because you know.
- 37:05Then maybe one day, I just don't know.
- 37:07So I get in, you know, he says do this, do that.
- 37:11I start doing it. He's like, looks at me and goes,
- 37:13hey man, you got a pretty good basis here.
- 37:16You are not some Joe Schmo who knows nothing about the how to
- 37:20do anything coming off the street.
- 37:23And I have to train them from scratch.
- 37:26You know, a good number of things.
- 37:27They have to be adjusted slightly, but you know some
- 37:29stuff, right? So that's how it started, you
- 37:32know? And that, you know, that's kind
- 37:35of it's funny because that's, you know, growing up being with
- 37:39him at all the shows and and you know kind of the same thing like
- 37:43you did just going there just learning, you know, just
- 37:47watching. And then as I got into later on
- 37:52probably I would say what five years ago, six years ago now I
- 37:57got brought up with him to do commentary for a company in
- 38:02Rhode Island. And then you know, I I kind of
- 38:08started to like, well, you know, let's take bumps, let's let's
- 38:12hit the mat. You know, I was it was before,
- 38:15you know how it goes before Showtime.
- 38:16You're there hours beforehand. You know, we're outside and it's
- 38:19like, well, I want to, I want to.
- 38:21Let's see, it was like, oh, let's get in the ring.
- 38:23And I had my dad, the owner and and the Booker all together who
- 38:28all ran the roads together, You know, they were all standing
- 38:32there doing, hey, Wilson, do this, do this, hit the ropes, do
- 38:36this, hit the rope. And it was, you know, it was
- 38:38just kind of just a little bit of of what the feel of what the
- 38:42what the feel was, you know. And it was once I made that
- 38:47first initial hit against the mat.
- 38:51You know, I kind of, you know right away whether you're meant
- 38:55for it or not. So.
- 38:57And and I hit that mat and I got up and I thought to myself, I'm
- 39:02like, you know what it's like? This is, this is kind of, this
- 39:07is kind of what I was meant, meant for.
- 39:12Yeah, that was like, that's what it feels like.
- 39:13I'm like, that feels good. So now we got the question of
- 39:17the day. Well, yeah.
- 39:17Hold on, we actually have two questions actually.
- 39:21Before the question of the day, I I I think I know what you're
- 39:26getting to H and and I'm going to put that up on the screen
- 39:30because this is for you OG. OG, this is for you buddy.
- 39:35Jesse's going to laugh at this. I'm.
- 39:37I'm reading it. I'm laughing at it.
- 39:40Well, so now we have a message through the phone line, so.
- 39:45OK, let's do it, yeah. The exclusion of the day.
- 39:48Here we go. Who is your inspiration for
- 39:57wrestling, your signature move, and the worst injury that you
- 40:02received in wrestling? Go ahead, Jesse, I'll let you
- 40:08answer. That you go, you go first and
- 40:09then we'll each the two of us will give.
- 40:13God, my inspiration for wrestling, man.
- 40:16There is a few. There is honestly a few.
- 40:20I mean, growing up we've got Kane under Rock, Big show, Stone
- 40:27Cold. I was just going to say Austin.
- 40:30Hardy up there. Some of these old guy, the older
- 40:33guys from WCW before it ran out. And you know, some of the older
- 40:37WWE guys, I mean, to me, they were all inspiration.
- 40:40They were all larger than life. It's hard to just pick one for
- 40:44me. As for my signature move, oh
- 40:49boy, I'd have to say it's one of two.
- 40:54It's either kind of the the discus clothesline, like Luke
- 41:00Harper did for for this, the stunner I got to.
- 41:10I like I'm the kind of guy. I kind of like the simples, the
- 41:13classics, you know, I. I've actually.
- 41:18Come up with my even. I've I've formed my own you
- 41:20know, signature submission hold. I call this still because you
- 41:23know, my persona is this backwards moonshiner dude and
- 41:28you know, so worst injury. I'm going to knock on wood here.
- 41:39I haven't had a horrible, horrible injury.
- 41:43But I will say at one point we had a guy during one of our free
- 41:47training sessions. He is a wrestler, but he's never
- 41:51done the snap suplexes and I hate those.
- 41:54So he went to go give me one and I went, landed.
- 41:58They said I landed on my ankles. When I went over, I went over so
- 42:01fast. I don't, I don't remember
- 42:04feeling it this and that, but the next day I felt it from my
- 42:08feet to my knees. So yeah.
- 42:15So wow. Me, what was the question again?
- 42:19Who is your inspiration for wrestling, your signature move
- 42:22and worse injury you received? So you guys got to remember, I'm
- 42:25a lot older than you guys. I've watched SD Jones, I've
- 42:28worked with SD Jones, I've worked with Mr. Haiti, Tony,
- 42:31Ashley K, Tony Mundy, I've worked with them all, Abdullah.
- 42:36So, you know, my inspiration was just watching WWE on Saturday
- 42:41Night's main event, you know, And I said I'm going to Johnny
- 42:43Rods. You know, I went to Johnny Rods
- 42:46for a couple months, then I moved to Texas.
- 42:48I went to the Von Eric school out there.
- 42:51Then I came back to New York and I hooked up with all the Samoans
- 42:55and went out to pops and you know, and you know, then I
- 43:00hooked up with Tony Rumble in N.W.A, New England.
- 43:05He changed my whole gimmick and you know, my move is either the
- 43:10powerbomb or the DDT, you know? And the worst injury I had was
- 43:18in New Britain, CT Sports Palace.
- 43:21It got thrown onto the ground, I got power bombed onto the ground
- 43:26and I woke up the next day. Both my legs were swollen and
- 43:32you know, they were like deep red.
- 43:35You couldn't even touch them. So, you know, that was burning.
- 43:40He said. I've heard of Apex.
- 43:41Actually, the more I wake up, he's not awake yet.
- 43:43So you know. Don't mind him, he's not awake
- 43:46yet. So the worst, the worst thing
- 43:47that I had was my legs. They they swelled up like as red
- 43:51as a as a tomato and you couldn't even touch them with
- 43:54the heat on them. And to this day I still get it,
- 43:56you know, it's called fobitis. That kind of triggered what I
- 44:01had. I was 550 lbs at the time and
- 44:04now I'm a good, sexy looking 275.
- 44:08Just so y'all know. Still got the moves.
- 44:12Anybody wants to get in the ring with me, feel free to sign a
- 44:15contract with my man Jesse down there and we'll make this
- 44:18happen. So again like like Jesse,
- 44:23there's there's so many, you know I can't name you it's it's
- 44:30so hard to name one. I mean obviously it #1 be going
- 44:35with him and and just being around the business with him.
- 44:38That would be the correct answer is your father.
- 44:40Yeah, well that's always the correct, you know, like you
- 44:45said, Jesse, there's there's so many to name.
- 44:48You know, just growing up, there's so many to name.
- 44:51And even you know me being just like you the the wrestling nerd
- 44:55fan, whatever you want to call it.
- 44:57You know, watching the the older stuff like like Jim Crockett,
- 45:02the AWA, you know the N.W.A, the old N.W.A with the when the Road
- 45:08Warriors first came out, stuff like that.
- 45:10You know there's so many inspirations to to add to and
- 45:16you know, it's just it's so hard to pick obviously, but we all
- 45:22know who it is. Your signature move.
- 45:27I wouldn't say I have a signature move.
- 45:30I would say there's one I'm most known for as of right now,
- 45:33that's. When he put a guy into the
- 45:35speculum. That's when kid was supposed to
- 45:39take a you'll you'll laugh at this story, Jesse, because his
- 45:43kid was supposed to take this kid was supposed to take a power
- 45:46bomb after he took a power bomb from him.
- 45:49He was supposed to take a power bomb from me and when I lifted
- 45:53him up he went sideways like this and tried to slide down my
- 45:58back. And just as a natural reaction I
- 46:03went like this and I caught him in almost like a a razor's edge.
- 46:11And then I Hernandez border tossed him almost over the top
- 46:15rope on the other side of the ring and to the floor.
- 46:19OK, the video's great, she told. Me the story at one point.
- 46:22Yeah, yeah, I it. Is a good story.
- 46:25Yeah, I I I happened to. I would, I would say, I would
- 46:30say that that's probably what I'm most known for at the
- 46:34moment. I won't say it's a signature
- 46:35move because it wasn't really supposed to happen, if that
- 46:43makes any sense to anybody watching that wasn't really
- 46:45supposed to happen. That's one thing I will say, get
- 46:48the Texan call 710619. The worst injury I've received,
- 46:54thankfully I can say hasn't really been bad.
- 47:00I think that the worst part that hurt was the first match I
- 47:04decided that I was going to get a little crazy and I took a a
- 47:10running not I didn't deliver it. Another guy delivered it who's
- 47:14probably built what is rock built like 260 Solid decided he
- 47:20was going to run from one post all the way across the apron and
- 47:24do like basically make himself a lawn dart and landed on me and a
- 47:29couple other guys and I hit the concrete floor.
- 47:31I was already in a in a locker. I hit the concrete floor, except
- 47:34I did one of these and I landed boom on my shoulder and then on
- 47:40my my elbow at the same time. So that hurt.
- 47:45Here's the question of the day. Big names in APEX or guest
- 47:49appearances? Well.
- 47:51Hold on. I'm not done.
- 47:52I didn't get the pipe in on this.
- 47:54Pipe in. Come on.
- 47:55My inspiration for watching wrestling with superstar Billy
- 47:59Graham and The Undertaker. They're my top two.
- 48:02Listen, my signature move is the Stone Cold Steve Austin
- 48:06celebration in the ring and my biggest injury was pulling my
- 48:10fucking hamstring run into the fridge for another beer.
- 48:13So listen, you can't exclude me from this.
- 48:18Yes, yes. There you have it, ladies and
- 48:21gentlemen. OG signature movie, Pull the
- 48:24Hamstring. Running to get a beard, my man.
- 48:26OG my best friend. What he meant to say was he he
- 48:30pulled the getting out of bed. That's what he meant to say.
- 48:36That wasn't my hamstring. Oh wait, this is PG.
- 48:40This is PG. My dad.
- 48:41My dad overstepped the line. My bad.
- 48:46Yo, Bernie said. Shit.
- 48:48That's why it was an earthquake. Makes sense.
- 48:51Joey fell. Yeah.
- 48:53He had a question before. That too, didn't he?
- 48:57Yeah. So he so the question he had
- 48:59before that was, are we going to see any big names in APEX or any
- 49:04guest appearances or anything like that?
- 49:07So Apex is a new company. As mentioned in some of the
- 49:14things I do have a GoFundMe to write Crowd fund for a ring.
- 49:18And Speaking of ring, while I'm on this topic real quick, I got
- 49:23a hold of somebody that will let it let me use a ring for free
- 49:29because she is she she told me I am one of two people she will
- 49:34ever trust with that ring. Wow, fantastic.
- 49:39Well. She said keep crowdfunding and
- 49:43get you that ring and you know, do what you got to do.
- 49:46But I you can use my ring. I was like, oh.
- 49:48My God, that's that's great. That's awesome.
- 49:52Hope you had some some issues trying to trying to get one so
- 49:56I'm I'm happy you you were finally able to get one.
- 49:58Obviously the the GoFundMe link will be you know we will post
- 50:03this along with the go fund Me link on our page for everybody
- 50:08watching. You know you want to share it
- 50:10around, share it around let's let's help him get his own ring
- 50:13obviously which is what everybody wants.
- 50:17You know it does take time but I think once we once we put it out
- 50:21there and and I also think once you know the the first show kind
- 50:25of goes off and people see what you're about, oh, I'm still
- 50:29trying to get in. Touch with Rob by the way.
- 50:30It'll be quite easy for you to, you know, kind of get that, get
- 50:36that movie. But now back to his question.
- 50:39That would be good. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 50:40Go ahead. Yeah, good, good.
- 50:42I'm going to go back to his question though, because it kind
- 50:45of went a little off track, but it was good news nonetheless to
- 50:48to share. So any big names that may be
- 50:52appearing or in the future or something like that, it's, I'm
- 50:56working on it. There are big names out there
- 51:00that I would love to have on, but you know, for a company
- 51:04that's just starting and doesn't have the funds to pay them just
- 51:07yet, it's not going to happen right away.
- 51:09I mean, you got to think there's some guys out there who say I'm
- 51:14this much and you're going to have to pay me $7000 before I
- 51:17even step foot in my own car to go to the airport, right, You
- 51:20know, and then you got to pay me the other half.
- 51:23So it it it's a it's a work in progress, but in the future
- 51:29we're going to have hopefully have some some appearances.
- 51:32On that note, ring that bell, slam that chair.
- 51:36Let's take our commercial break. Yo-yo yo.
- 56:11What is up? What is up?
- 56:14We are back here. Turnbuckles and stoveys live so
- 56:17Sunday morning so OG. We had, we had two questions
- 56:21from before, but I want to put one up right now.
- 56:25And this is for OG. And this one, this one is
- 56:27really, really more for you OG. This isn't for us exactly what
- 56:33comment I'm talking about because he's seen it.
- 56:36So this one is from a good friend of ours, OG Mr. Coop, and
- 56:41that's for you. Well, you know what?
- 56:50Yeah. Go ahead, try to answer that
- 56:52one. And I don't know.
- 56:54I I tell you what sign if you wake up from the chair shot,
- 56:57absolutely. You can try to lift me up and
- 56:59put me through a table. That was my best impersonation
- 57:05of snack talk. I don't know.
- 57:07Yeah, man, that was hey, you know, give me in a ring.
- 57:11Let's see what happens. Why not?
- 57:12I'll take a shot once. Once.
- 57:14I'll probably die. But I got a good, healthy
- 57:17insurance policy. And then and then he had posted
- 57:20another question. I just lost it in.
- 57:24As of right now, who do you feel has the better product, WWE or
- 57:30AEW? For me.
- 57:34I'm I'm going to, I'm going to go out and say this and not
- 57:36because I'm a, you know, I've been watching both products.
- 57:41WWE has gotten better since Triple H took over.
- 57:44I will say that the product has gotten really decent.
- 57:48It's still got a ways to go but they're making, they're making
- 57:54good traction and quick. But in my opinion and people are
- 57:59going to hate me because there's a lot going on with that company
- 58:02right now. But I think personally I think
- 58:04AW has the better product right now I I.
- 58:08Personally, yeah. I.
- 58:09Better product and it's. I think right now, yeah, I think
- 58:13right now, if you're talking about who's hot, the iron that's
- 58:16hot is AW right now. As much and but I.
- 58:19Agree. WWE is making traction.
- 58:22That's. Bigger, but they're making
- 58:23traction fast. I thought it was going to take a
- 58:26lot longer. But once Triple H took over, you
- 58:30can see when the change happened because the product view started
- 58:34going like this and then they brought Orton back.
- 58:38They signed Punk NX, TS, getting new superstars.
- 58:42You know they're they're putting out.
- 58:44You know last night I watched deadline.
- 58:47I mean Jesus, that was and it. But NXT, I'm never disappointed
- 58:53with NXT because they always, they always put on a good show.
- 58:58And I think personally NXT might be developmental as they call
- 59:03it. I think it's a third brand that
- 59:07they didn't realize was going to be its own separate brand.
- 59:12I think it started out as developmental and then over the
- 59:16years it started to gain the traction and then they did the
- 59:20the Survivor Series angle where it was Raw smack down NXT and
- 59:25then they went back. They they redeveloped like three
- 59:28times into different incarnations and where they are
- 59:31now is I think personally a third brand for WWE under their
- 59:40umbrella. So Jesse, tell us about your
- 59:44tentative dates that you have lined up and where they are and
- 59:51how people can get to. I don't know if you have a
- 59:54website or whatever how people can purchase tickets and get
- 59:58them out there. So as of right now, website
- 1:00:04wise, I'm trying to create one but I got to start with the free
- 1:00:09builders. But every free builder is giving
- 1:00:11me a hard time with building something.
- 1:00:14So that might be something I'm going to have to pay somebody
- 1:00:17down the line to do, right? But as of right now, usually
- 1:00:23ticket sales I can either do over the phone through Facebook.
- 1:00:28I do have a PayPal set up for Apex.
- 1:00:30I've got cash app for Apex. So as long as you give me you
- 1:00:35know, hey this is who it's for. You know when you get a ticket
- 1:00:39it will be at a quote, UN quote, will call meeting for you with
- 1:00:44your name on an envelope and your seating and stuff like
- 1:00:47that. So it's mainly over the phone
- 1:00:49over Facebook stuff like that And I just provide you hey this
- 1:00:53is you can either pay through cash at PayPal square however
- 1:00:57you want. Well Square is more important
- 1:00:59person but cash at PayPal, Venmo stuff like that.
- 1:01:03I usually because I also do leather work as a full time gig
- 1:01:09so I have all the big payment options, Venmo, PayPal, cash app
- 1:01:13and all that for that as well. So it gives people the option
- 1:01:15as. To say what's up brother?
- 1:01:18How you doing so well? When is your first show
- 1:01:22tentatively date? Let me double look here, the
- 1:01:25tentative date. I got to look at my phone
- 1:01:29calendar because I'm, I'm, I'm. My last name is Polish.
- 1:01:32So that comes with the brain too.
- 1:01:37How many Polish guys does it take to put in a light bulb?
- 1:01:40Yes. He said yes.
- 1:01:45One is screwed in and three. My family's still trying to
- 1:01:47figure that out. I'm looking at possibly the 25th
- 1:01:53of May, OK, It gives me enough time to.
- 1:01:57I've got the venue kind of lined up.
- 1:01:58I just got to get the funds for that as well because it is run
- 1:02:03by the parks and recs here, but it's really cool.
- 1:02:05They got a full gym with locker rooms and separate entrances to
- 1:02:09get into those locker rooms away from the public with bathrooms
- 1:02:12and stuff like that as well, so. Nice.
- 1:02:14Well, I don't like to get away from the public, because the
- 1:02:16public is what made me what I am today.
- 1:02:18No, you know what I mean? I mean.
- 1:02:22Because I'm good. We could go in the the door into
- 1:02:24the locker. Room we don't.
- 1:02:25Have to go through the fans, go in the front.
- 1:02:27Door. I know what you're saying.
- 1:02:29I love walking through the fans because you know what?
- 1:02:32Without the fans, without the people that paid for the
- 1:02:35tickets, there's no big dog. So.
- 1:02:38I will walk. Man.
- 1:02:39I will walk through the fans every day, take pictures, sign
- 1:02:43autographs, kiss their mother, kiss their kids.
- 1:02:46I don't care. No, but I I do.
- 1:02:48I do know what you're saying because there have been like I
- 1:02:52know the few places I've done shows, whether it was commentary
- 1:02:56or whatever. You know, the the one place we
- 1:02:58did a lot of shows for commentary was an outdoor
- 1:03:01pavilion. And you know, you pulled up the
- 1:03:05wrestlers park down below where everybody else parked.
- 1:03:08But see us being and getting there early.
- 1:03:12It was up on a hill. So what did we do?
- 1:03:14We drove the car right up the hill, parked right outside the
- 1:03:17lock the the locker room. And changed into my car.
- 1:03:20And changed outside in the, you know, whatever I'm like, but you
- 1:03:25know, being a commentator, as you know, there really is not a
- 1:03:28whole lot of dress code except like a polo shirt or a a dress
- 1:03:33shirt, so nobody can see what's underneath you, right.
- 1:03:36Right. I'm the kind of.
- 1:03:38Guy that the if I if I were to implement a dress code, it would
- 1:03:44be more business casual just to be like hey guys, because I
- 1:03:47don't want to take away your creativity and your
- 1:03:49individuality and stuff like that.
- 1:03:50You know, you know you are who you are.
- 1:03:55Not my job to take that away from that.
- 1:03:57Well, a lot of guys are going to show up in shorts.
- 1:04:00Oh yeah. That's.
- 1:04:02What I said that's that's me. If I'm going to set a dress
- 1:04:05code, that's probably what I would go with.
- 1:04:07And that's and that's pretty easy, 'cause that's sometimes
- 1:04:10that's just like a nice looking T-shirt and you know, a a pair
- 1:04:13of jeans and some shoes or something like that.
- 1:04:16And I don't mark out. I don't wear nobody else's shirt
- 1:04:18but mine, thank you very much. I I have AI have a little bit of
- 1:04:23a collection, I will say of of shirts in my closet 'cause I did
- 1:04:29at one point in time subscribe to pro wrestling Crate.
- 1:04:33Which, if anybody, if anybody. Hasn't subscribed to that and
- 1:04:37this is I'm not sponsored by them.
- 1:04:39It's not a shameless it's just a if you haven't subscribed to
- 1:04:43them, I would suggest at least one month because you get a lot
- 1:04:47of cool shit shirts, you get a little micro brawler like this
- 1:04:53big, you get a DVD, you get an autograph picture sometimes too.
- 1:04:58So I will say they do have some cool stuff, but most of the time
- 1:05:04I usually just show up with you know, a a a regular T-shirt or a
- 1:05:10polo shirt and you know some sandals and a pair of shorts
- 1:05:13depending on the weather. Right.
- 1:05:16Because you you know, you got to think you want to be comfortable
- 1:05:18during the car ride too, to. These right I wear I.
- 1:05:21Wear shorts and Crocs all year so it doesn't matter.
- 1:05:23It could be negative. Yeah, sure.
- 1:05:25Out in the middle of New York and you wear shorts and Crocs in
- 1:05:27the winter. You are crazy.
- 1:05:28He's out of his mind. But it listen.
- 1:05:30If it's if it's business casual, he'll put a bow tie in the
- 1:05:33Crocs. Hey listen, I wanted to update
- 1:05:39you on that very important question.
- 1:05:40Somebody asked how many Pollock did it take to screw in a light
- 1:05:43bulb? I got a text message that says
- 1:05:4651 to hold the light bulb, 4 to turn the chair.
- 1:05:49Yes. I mean, hey, you know why
- 1:05:52Pollock's have the have ski at the end of their last name,
- 1:05:55right? Tell me.
- 1:05:58I don't know about you, but I can't spell Deboggan.
- 1:06:06And. For anybody who's just joining
- 1:06:09in for and, is this taken out of context?
- 1:06:12I'm Polish. I've got a Polish last name.
- 1:06:15He ties his. Shoes, American and English I'm
- 1:06:18a drunken idiot who can't hold his liquor.
- 1:06:19Who's. Constantly, he ties his shoes
- 1:06:21the other way. Instead of tying the shoe that's
- 1:06:22on the ground, he ties the shoe that's up on the chair.
- 1:06:27So so this one this one is in reference to your comment
- 1:06:30earlier OG. In the immortal words of the
- 1:06:41Great One. I I will tell you, those chairs
- 1:06:46are pretty. Those chairs are pretty heavy.
- 1:06:49Those chairs can get pretty heavy when you're swinging them
- 1:06:514567 times in a row. Correct.
- 1:06:55So I will tell you, I've, I've tried to pick those chairs up
- 1:06:58and it's not they're they're they're heavy.
- 1:07:01They're not they're not they're not aluminum.
- 1:07:03They're not. They're.
- 1:07:05They're heavy. They hurt.
- 1:07:07So let me ask you this, Jesse. So, so what's your federation
- 1:07:11that you're you're you're starting up APEC Championship
- 1:07:14Wrestling in New Bern, NC So are you going to have like some
- 1:07:20hardcore matches? Are you going to have, you know,
- 1:07:25like go out there and just do what you guys do or you going
- 1:07:28to, you know, be like, hey listen, this is what we want to
- 1:07:32do, blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:07:34There will be, yeah, hardcore matches.
- 1:07:37I'm a fan of them. I just don't like to put
- 1:07:40anything if I'm going to do it, anything that's going to
- 1:07:43puncture my skin. I'm not a fan of that unless
- 1:07:45it's a tattoo. What are?
- 1:07:49We on a different. Boat brother.
- 1:07:50Because I'll punch in my skin for whatever.
- 1:07:52It doesn't matter, right? I like.
- 1:07:54I like the juice. You know what?
- 1:07:56I mean right but. That's different.
- 1:07:57Red equals green, right? You know, oh.
- 1:07:59Listen, that's how the old saying goes.
- 1:08:01You know that as well as I do. And red equals green.
- 1:08:04Red equals green and. Green.
- 1:08:07Everybody. Right, but we I do want to
- 1:08:11implement some hardcore matches and at some point actually even
- 1:08:14get a hardcore title. That's.
- 1:08:17Cool. But where was I going with this?
- 1:08:21I just literally lost my train of thought here now.
- 1:08:24So the idea now that I'm thinking about it now is I want
- 1:08:29Apex to have still that family friendly kind of PG side, but I
- 1:08:36also want to lead just a tad bit more to that attitude era of
- 1:08:41wrestling when wrestling was still wrestling.
- 1:08:43Right. And and and the the you know,
- 1:08:47you know as well as I do you know you wanted to lead to where
- 1:08:50those those big payoff matches, you know of a of a rivalry or a
- 1:08:55a you know two guys butting heads.
- 1:08:57The big payoff is either you know as you know a hardcore
- 1:09:00match, a ladder match, a tables match that's that's that old
- 1:09:06school style that I think you're trying to make that.
- 1:09:10Am I correct? I want, I want the newer
- 1:09:12generation to come to these these shows and go WOW
- 1:09:15WRESTLING. Really cool.
- 1:09:16But I also want the the older generation, my generation older
- 1:09:20and go, this is freaking nostalgic.
- 1:09:23I love this. Right.
- 1:09:29Well. I think you'll you'll, you'll be
- 1:09:32fine once you start rolling and you start getting into the
- 1:09:37groove of things. You know, North Carolina is big
- 1:09:40for for wrestling. Down South is big for wrestling.
- 1:09:44New York is hard to run because you have to hire the athletic
- 1:09:47Commission you have to hire. Yeah, it's it's a little.
- 1:09:50It's a little. Hard to run, you know.
- 1:09:51It's it's not hard, It's expensive.
- 1:09:54Right. Pennsylvania's the same way with
- 1:09:55that stuff. I think down there, I think
- 1:09:59you'll do good. And you know, all I can say is I
- 1:10:05hope that your your company goes well and don't forget to book,
- 1:10:10book The Untouchable. Hopefully we're we're down there
- 1:10:12working with you, 'cause I think it'd be a great time for all of
- 1:10:15us to be in the same spot, you know, I think.
- 1:10:17Remember you got to go through their manager Hi, just want to
- 1:10:20introduce myself. I told you, Listen, you're going
- 1:10:25to have one job. You're going to have one shot.
- 1:10:27Don't fuck it up, kid. Oh shit, Oh shit, he said.
- 1:10:32Don't fuck it up, kid. Hey, listen, I don't know an
- 1:10:35announcer can get involved, right?
- 1:10:38An announcer can take four or five bumps.
- 1:10:41Sure. If you can catch me, we can use.
- 1:10:45Listen, we got it. Listen, we'll just get a door.
- 1:10:48I got some pain medicine for you.
- 1:10:49Don't worry. About it, I'll put them through
- 1:10:50a. Door.
- 1:10:50If you can catch me for a fat guy, I can run.
- 1:10:55Oh, so can I. So just once I catch you, I
- 1:11:00just. I can't promise it won't hurt.
- 1:11:04And and you can't wear your glasses, brother.
- 1:11:08Glasses. You would?
- 1:11:09Why would you hit a guy with glasses?
- 1:11:12Yes. Absolutely.
- 1:11:13Yes, 100. Percent Jesse, Jesse, Jesse.
- 1:11:17We don't care in the rest of the world.
- 1:11:21I. Mean Look at Harvey Whippleman.
- 1:11:24He got his ass whooping the glasses on, Yeah.
- 1:11:26That poor bastard. So I I just got the I just got
- 1:11:33the cue. We got about 5 minutes left.
- 1:11:36So ladies and gentlemen, you are live here with turnbuckles and
