- Rob (AI host): Our write-up says HubSpot rebuilt the panel you use to add reports to a dashboard, with AI picks at the top. Dana (AI host): Did HubSpot say that too? Rob (AI host): Not anywhere we could find. So today is half update, half detective work. Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies. Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI. Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you. Rob (AI host): Quick disclosure: Dana and I are AI hosts. Rob (AI host): We don't build dashboards for anyone, and we didn't click through this panel ourselves. Dana (AI host): I'm Dana. Dana (AI host): Today I'm playing a revenue operations lead with forty dashboards and a reports list nobody has cleaned in years. Rob (AI host): Let's start with what HubSpot's own help page confirms. Rob (AI host): It was updated on the twenty-ninth of July, and it applies to all products and plans. Rob (AI host): Go to Reporting, then Dashboards. Rob (AI host): At the top, click the dashboard name and pick the one you want. Rob (AI host): Click Add content, then Report. A panel opens on the right. Rob (AI host): Hover over a report, click the plus Add button, and it lands on your dashboard. Rob (AI host): Then you can drag it where you want. Dana (AI host): Is there another way in? Rob (AI host): Yes. Rob (AI host): From Reporting, then Reports, hover over a report, open the Actions menu, and choose Add to dashboard. Dana (AI host): And if I add the wrong one? Rob (AI host): Hover over it on the dashboard and open Actions. Rob (AI host): Remove from dashboard takes it off but keeps the report. Rob (AI host): Delete removes it from your whole account. Dana (AI host): That difference matters with a messy reports list. Rob (AI host): It does. To resize a card, drag its bottom right corner. Dana (AI host): Who's allowed to do this? Rob (AI host): The help page says you need dashboard, reports, and analytics permissions to add reports. Dana (AI host): Is there a cap on how many reports a dashboard holds? Rob (AI host): There is. Rob (AI host): It depends on your subscription, and HubSpot points to its Product and Services Catalog for the numbers. Rob (AI host): Notes count against that cap too. Rob (AI host): If you add a text or image note, it uses one of the slots. Dana (AI host): Good to know before I paste instructions everywhere. Rob (AI host): One more limit. Rob (AI host): A dashboard can't load a report with more than a hundred values in the Break down by property. Rob (AI host): You get a Too many data points requested error. Dana (AI host): Okay. What did HubSpot actually announce around dashboards this summer? Rob (AI host): Quite a bit. HubSpot's June product updates added new dashboard navigation. Rob (AI host): The switcher has tabs for All, Recently Viewed, Favorites, and My Dashboards, plus a search field. Rob (AI host): That's for all hubs and tiers. Rob (AI host): The same section adds one settings panel for name, owner, access, description, tags, auto refresh, and history. Rob (AI host): And Starter accounts got fifty pre-built report templates across marketing, sales, and service. Dana (AI host): That last one sounds close to the ready-made templates idea. Rob (AI host): It does. August brought two more. Rob (AI host): Report descriptions now sit right on the dashboard cards, instead of behind a hover icon. Rob (AI host): And adding external content now shows three choices: External URL, HubSpot Page, or Embed Code. Dana (AI host): And favorites? Rob (AI host): The other help page, updated on the twentieth of October, says you can favorite up to ten dashboards with the star icon. Dana (AI host): Any help for building a dashboard from scratch? Rob (AI host): That same page describes recommended dashboard templates, marked beta. Rob (AI host): You pick one, review the reports it suggests, and clear the checkboxes for any you don't want. Rob (AI host): And the number of dashboards you can have depends on the highest tier in your account. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Dashboards tell you what happened. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): They don't always tell you what HubSpot is worth to the business. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Our HubSpot ROI calculator asks six questions, then estimates time savings, cost savings, and a payback timeline. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): It factors in your team size, current tool costs, manual processes, and growth goals. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Find it under tools at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Dana (AI host): Okay, as the operations lead I'm playing, here's my doubt. Where's the new panel? Rob (AI host): Our write-up describes three sections. Recommended for you, powered by Breeze. Rob (AI host): My reports, for saved custom reports. And Ready-made templates. Rob (AI host): It also says you can hover a title for a preview, or switch to Grid view. Dana (AI host): And HubSpot's help page? Rob (AI host): It still describes the panel as a list where you hover and click plus Add. Rob (AI host): No sections, no Grid view, no Breeze. Rob (AI host): Our write-up also says you click Add report. The help page says Add content, then Report. Dana (AI host): Did a monthly post mention it? Rob (AI host): We checked June, July, August, and September. None lists the redesigned panel. Rob (AI host): So whether it's live, in beta, or rolling out, is unknown. Dana (AI host): What about the AI part? How does it pick? Rob (AI host): Our write-up says Breeze looks at reports already on the dashboard and your recent activity, like tools you use and pages you've saved. Rob (AI host): HubSpot doesn't describe it, so we can't confirm that, or whether it uses credits. Dana (AI host): Does the new panel change what my reports show? Rob (AI host): Our write-up says no. Rob (AI host): It only changes how you find and add them, not the data inside. Dana (AI host): And plans? Rob (AI host): Our write-up says every hub and tier, Free included. Rob (AI host): With no HubSpot page on it, that's unconfirmed too. Dana (AI host): Got it. Is there anything newer that changes how dashboards behave? Rob (AI host): September added two things for all hubs and tiers. Rob (AI host): Dashboard caching, from five minutes to seven days, with a Last updated timestamp and a manual refresh. Rob (AI host): It's off by default. Rob (AI host): And color themes, so one palette, including Brand Kit colors, applies to every eligible report on a dashboard. Dana (AI host): Caching matters for me. If I switch it on, people see older numbers. Rob (AI host): That's the trade off. Watch the Last updated timestamp. Rob (AI host): And for a single report, the three dots menu on the card has a Refresh option. Dana (AI host): Okay. Here's my plan, as the operations lead I'm playing. Dana (AI host): Open one dashboard, click Add content, then Report, and see which panel I get. Dana (AI host): If I see the three sections, I'll check whether the picks make sense. Dana (AI host): If not, I'll use the plus Add list as before. Rob (AI host): And before you add anything, check the report cap for your plan in the catalog. Rob (AI host): Dashboard panel, summed up. HubSpot confirms the Add content route and a summer of dashboard changes. Rob (AI host): The AI picks are still unconfirmed. Dana (AI host): You'll find every source in the show notes, and our write-ups are at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Rob (AI host): Thanks so much for your time today. Dana (AI host): Open one dashboard today and see which version of the panel you have.
