- 0:00Speaker 1: And now Move the Sticks with Daniel, Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 1: All right, friends, back here with you another episode of
- 0:10Speaker 1: Move the Sticks. Hello everybody, Ret Lewis, Bucky Brooks. We'll
- 0:14Speaker 1: get DJ back a little bit later in the week.
- 0:16Speaker 1: But Bucky, you were a busy man last night following
- 0:20Speaker 1: the Monday night debacle. I don't know, boys from Duval.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I don't know how busy I was. I was there,
- 0:28Speaker 2: I was in attendance.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You were there.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We're spin positive.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Let's focus on the team that played really well, and
- 0:34Speaker 3: that'd be the Bills. And I'm gonna say this like
- 0:37Speaker 3: it's my first No, it's not my first time. It's
- 0:39Speaker 3: my second time watching Josh Allen up close in person.
- 0:43Speaker 3: And I will say rhet like from the time that
- 0:45Speaker 3: I watched him when he was coming out of Wyoming
- 0:47Speaker 3: at the Potato Bowl, I went to Boise to watch
- 0:50Speaker 3: him play in a bowl game, to watch him at
- 0:52Speaker 3: the Senior Bowl, to then watch him kind of go
- 0:55Speaker 3: from afar in the NFL.
- 0:57Speaker 2: He is a completely different guy than that guy.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Remember as a senior, as a junior before he came
- 1:03Speaker 3: out of Wahoming and one prototypical size, great athleticism, tremendous
- 1:10Speaker 3: arm talent, but destrides that he has made as a
- 1:15Speaker 3: playmaker to me are nothing short of remarkable. He has
- 1:19Speaker 3: kind of learned when to insert himself into the game
- 1:22Speaker 3: and when to kind of just let the system work
- 1:24Speaker 3: for him. He has And look, we said this prior
- 1:28Speaker 3: to the season, that Pat Mahomes thing was really gonna
- 1:30Speaker 3: reveal how good Josh Allen is. Meaning you take away
- 1:33Speaker 3: Stefan Diggs, you now put more on him to play
- 1:36Speaker 3: with more unheralded playmakers.
- 1:38Speaker 2: What would this offense look like?
- 1:40Speaker 3: And talking to some of the people for the Bills audition,
- 1:45Speaker 3: by subtraction, by removing Stefan Diggs, you kind of took
- 1:49Speaker 3: the crutches away from Josh Allen and he is now
- 1:52Speaker 3: doing more stuff, more command of the offense, greater control.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Utilizing all of the options.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Within the concept as opposed to getting stuck on one guy.
- 2:02Speaker 3: And what you're seeing is a more efficient and more
- 2:05Speaker 3: effective and I will say this, a more dangerous playmaker
- 2:09Speaker 3: at the quarterback position than we've ever seen before.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And that's saying a lot from a guy you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: who has been an MVP contender for the last few
- 2:18Speaker 1: years and certainly is that now at this point, I'm
- 2:22Speaker 1: just looking at you know, guy completed passes the ten
- 2:25Speaker 1: different players in this game. Khalil Shakir has become what
- 2:30Speaker 1: the Bills needed him to, which is a guy that
- 2:33Speaker 1: Josh can rely on. Six catches on six targets. Doesn't
- 2:37Speaker 1: get much more efficient than that. Jamal Cook, excuse me,
- 2:41Speaker 1: James Cook has continued to kind of be, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 1: the force in the grad. Look, they weren't great on
- 2:46Speaker 1: the ground last night, didn't really have to be. Josh
- 2:49Speaker 1: was cooking and he was their leading rusher. But what
- 2:52Speaker 1: James Cook can do through the air is an important
- 2:57Speaker 1: piece of where the Bills will go on offense. Four
- 2:59Speaker 1: catches forty eight yards and then you know, both the
- 3:01Speaker 1: tight ends call passes in this game, as we kind
- 3:03Speaker 1: of thought that they would be a bigger piece of
- 3:05Speaker 1: the of the plan without Stefan Diggs, and I got
- 3:09Speaker 1: to say, you know, like, obviously Josh Allen is rolling
- 3:12Speaker 1: and the offense is rolling. But this Bill's defense has
- 3:15Speaker 1: been hit with some some pretty significant injuries, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 1: over the course of the last couple of years, Matt
- 3:20Speaker 1: Milano being out for the better part of the last
- 3:22Speaker 1: two years, including you know, this season I think has
- 3:25Speaker 1: been you know, a big loss, but they have found
- 3:28Speaker 1: ways to not necessarily replace, but to find that production
- 3:34Speaker 1: from the second level, you know, elsewhere. So credit to
- 3:38Speaker 1: what they're doing on defense to uh, you know, DeMar
- 3:40Speaker 1: Hamlin gets the interception in this game, which was kind
- 3:42Speaker 1: of you know, obviously fun to see given given his
- 3:45Speaker 1: evolution over the last year or so. So yeah, a
- 3:49Speaker 1: lot of positivity for the Buffalo Bills. What do we
- 3:53Speaker 1: say about the team that is riding an eight game
- 3:55Speaker 1: losing streak with Trevor Lawrence as it's starting quarterback.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Look, man, I would say it it is exactly what
- 4:01Speaker 3: it looks like. The team is struggling in all areas,
- 4:03Speaker 3: and you see a team that doesn't have a lot
- 4:05Speaker 3: of confidence. You also see a team that, look, I
- 4:11Speaker 3: think the team is good, but sometimes you can have
- 4:13Speaker 3: a lot of good players without a great player and
- 4:16Speaker 3: the team just kind of languishes. I think when you
- 4:19Speaker 3: look at the roster and you try to figure out
- 4:22Speaker 3: how many blue chip players the Jaguars have, you might
- 4:26Speaker 3: come up with one, and that one would be josh
- 4:29Speaker 3: heinz Out maybe like you could throw him in there.
- 4:32Speaker 3: But outside of that, you don't have a blue chip player.
- 4:35Speaker 3: And when we talk about winning championships, like the thing
- 4:39Speaker 3: that I was always given as a scout, they were
- 4:42Speaker 3: talking about it takes.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Eight to twelve blues to be able to compete at
- 4:46Speaker 2: a championship level, like.
- 4:47Speaker 3: You have to have eight to twelve that are and
- 4:50Speaker 3: by blues we mean top ten, top five in their
- 4:54Speaker 3: respective positions league wide to be able to compete at
- 4:57Speaker 3: a championship level. And if I'm strugg right now to
- 5:00Speaker 3: tell you that they have one, that's problematic. And it
- 5:04Speaker 3: also shows up in a game against the Buffalo Bills
- 5:07Speaker 3: where you may have more guys that are playing at
- 5:09Speaker 3: a blue level and Josh Allen and von Miller looking
- 5:12Speaker 3: like he's a blue again, and Gregor Russo and Ed Oliver.
- 5:15Speaker 3: You see the wide disparity between how one team is
- 5:18Speaker 3: playing versus how the other team is playing.
- 5:22Speaker 1: So that's troubling obviously on a number of fronts. You know,
- 5:26Speaker 1: for Jacksonville that has, you know, kind of had this
- 5:29Speaker 1: run of issues here over the course of you know,
- 5:32Speaker 1: the last half of last season and then obviously what
- 5:34Speaker 1: we've seen so far this year. But I think it's
- 5:37Speaker 1: it's amplified obviously when you pay the quarterback, and the
- 5:42Speaker 1: quarterback has not been able to, you know, lift all
- 5:46Speaker 1: boats with his tide. Right rising tide lifts all boats
- 5:49Speaker 1: it and it just has He has not been that
- 5:51Speaker 1: tiede that you would expect from a player you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: that is worthy of that kind of financial and you know,
- 5:59Speaker 1: organization wide commitment to be the number one quarterback and
- 6:03Speaker 1: to be that guy. And he's admitted it for his part, right,
- 6:06Speaker 1: He's like, look, I have not played as well as
- 6:08Speaker 1: I need to play for this team, and that's for sure.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So are you saying, then, Buck, that you know Trevor
- 6:16Speaker 1: needs to play beyond what we've even seen him at
- 6:20Speaker 1: his best in order to rise this group.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I would say that I think there are a lot
- 6:26Speaker 3: of lessons that could be learned from Trevor last night,
- 6:29Speaker 3: and I think looking across the field at how Josh
- 6:32Speaker 3: Allen performs, Trevor has to challenge a little more of that.
- 6:36Speaker 3: In terms of, like the one thing that we always
- 6:39Speaker 3: could say good, better and different about Josh Allen. He
- 6:42Speaker 3: was very aggressive and very decisive in terms of how
- 6:44Speaker 3: he played. We thought sometimes it was borderline reckless in
- 6:48Speaker 3: terms of the way that he threw his body around
- 6:51Speaker 3: and did some of those things. But what you never
- 6:53Speaker 3: could question was he was going to go down as
- 6:56Speaker 3: a gunslinger and with aggression putting it on his shods.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Trevor is a little more reserved, and I could give
- 7:03Speaker 3: you an analogy. He reminds me of Ice and Top Gun.
- 7:07Speaker 3: So you remember when Maverick was kind of like the
- 7:09Speaker 3: during one. He would take the shot, would just kind
- 7:11Speaker 3: of go for it, whereas Ice was always looking for like.
- 7:14Speaker 2: The perfect shot before he would fight.
- 7:18Speaker 3: And they had that scene in the locker room where
- 7:21Speaker 3: Ice would tell Maverick, you're reckless.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And you have to do dangerous, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And so like you look at Josh Allen and you
- 7:29Speaker 3: see that, but then you see the evolution of how
- 7:31Speaker 3: he's been able to kind of like tone that down
- 7:33Speaker 3: when needed. Right, you need Trevor to maybe ramp it
- 7:38Speaker 3: up and take more chances and be a little more daring,
- 7:42Speaker 3: because when you are the guy that is not only
- 7:45Speaker 3: the blue player, the player that you're paying like a
- 7:47Speaker 3: blue you need him to elevate his game.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And the only way he can do it is.
- 7:52Speaker 3: He kind of I would say care less and just
- 7:55Speaker 3: go for it because I think you can live with
- 7:57Speaker 3: the mistakes if he's going for it, but what you
- 7:59Speaker 3: don't want is someone who has the talent to do
- 8:01Speaker 3: those things but is always so reserved and conservative that
- 8:05Speaker 3: he never lets himself go.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that's a great analogy and a
- 8:09Speaker 1: really intriguing point to make here on this game, certainly, Trevor.
- 8:12Speaker 1: You know, stats don't always tell the story, but it
- 8:16Speaker 1: sounds like what we're saying from a talent evaluation standpoint
- 8:19Speaker 1: with this team, what they need from him goes far
- 8:23Speaker 1: beyond twenty one to thirty eight and the bucks seventy
- 8:25Speaker 1: eight through the year, like you know what I mean. Like,
- 8:27Speaker 1: it's not we're not saying that, like that's the story
- 8:30Speaker 1: of this performance, but they need much more than that
- 8:34Speaker 1: for this team to be a consistent winner. Is I
- 8:36Speaker 1: think we're rappid?
- 8:37Speaker 2: Well, I mean, yeah, that's the thing. If we go
- 8:39Speaker 2: back and.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Trucks and trailer's analogies, right, Oh, yeah, they need him
- 8:45Speaker 3: to be the truck, and it has to be clear,
- 8:48Speaker 3: it's clear and a parent that he is the truck
- 8:49Speaker 3: that is driving everybody because when you look at the perimeter,
- 8:53Speaker 3: like you can't say that the rest of the team
- 8:55Speaker 3: is going to carry him.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Brian Thomas Junior is good.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I quite ready to say, hey, he's going to elevate
- 9:02Speaker 3: the quarterback, and so it needs to be the quarterback
- 9:04Speaker 3: that elevates everybody else. And so yeah, he needs to
- 9:07Speaker 3: channel some of that Josh Allen superhero playmaking ability and
- 9:13Speaker 3: find a way to do that. And look, I know,
- 9:16Speaker 3: like it's that fine line between pressing to try and
- 9:18Speaker 3: do too much and not do enough. But I think
- 9:21Speaker 3: we're at the point of the season where when you're
- 9:23Speaker 3: looking at him, he has to exhaust all his options,
- 9:26Speaker 3: and sometimes the best option is you doing more.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And they need more of everything here moving forward. Okay,
- 9:35Speaker 1: let's switch gears. And really it was the game of
- 9:38Speaker 1: the night, and it's the storyline of the week and
- 9:40Speaker 1: maybe the season. Bucky Brooks and that is the play
- 9:44Speaker 1: number two overall. Pick that kid, Jayden is rolling. Okay,
- 9:50Speaker 1: I got a lot to now. I don't know how
- 9:52Speaker 1: much of this you were able to see. Obviously you
- 9:53Speaker 1: were it. Yeah, that's enough of it.
- 9:56Speaker 3: I was able to look at the jumbo Tron when
- 9:59Speaker 3: one game was going, I was a to look up,
- 10:00Speaker 3: Oh that.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Game looks good. There he goes again. Yeah, as efficiently,
- 10:07Speaker 1: explosive and productive as we have seen a rookie quarterback.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I mean you could say some of those games as
- 10:12Speaker 1: c J. Stroud gave us a year ago, you know,
- 10:14Speaker 1: like he's on that level right now. Like what Jayden
- 10:17Speaker 1: is doing right now is, especially after this game, what
- 10:21Speaker 1: we saw CJ. Stroud evolve into very early last season.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And that's high praise, high high praise, but I think
- 10:28Speaker 1: he is meeting that mark. He also ends up being
- 10:31Speaker 1: their leading rusher thirty nine yards. He throws for two
- 10:33Speaker 1: fifty four in the two touchdowns. But what he did
- 10:35Speaker 1: at the end of that game, Bucky, I don't know.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I don't know if you were able to see this here,
- 10:40Speaker 1: but fourth quarter, the Bengals had started to make a comeback, right,
- 10:44Speaker 1: it was a it was a one score ballgame, right,
- 10:47Speaker 1: They missed the two point convergent you can argue should
- 10:49Speaker 1: have been a you know, pass interference. It doesn't matter
- 10:52Speaker 1: because of what Jayden Daniels did. Okay, So I'm watching
- 10:57Speaker 1: this unfold and they are disorganized, like in a in
- 11:01Speaker 1: a weird way, right because Cliff King's very very experienced
- 11:05Speaker 1: play caller, but like Jayden's like, get me the play sooner.
- 11:09Speaker 1: You could hear him saying that He's like, I need
- 11:11Speaker 1: the play sooner so I can sit here, diagnose and
- 11:14Speaker 1: go exactly where I want to go with the football.
- 11:16Speaker 1: But it's taking too long, and they're they're at the
- 11:18Speaker 1: they're snapping it with one two seconds left, and I
- 11:21Speaker 1: get it they wanted to run some time too, but
- 11:23Speaker 1: it just felt like there was confusion. There's guys even
- 11:26Speaker 1: on the play on the third and seven that he
- 11:29Speaker 1: pulls out. Uh, Like Troy Aikman saw so much disorganization
- 11:36Speaker 1: on the field. This was after a time out. They
- 11:39Speaker 1: come back on the field, so much disorganization. Troy's like,
- 11:42Speaker 1: I don't think they have eleven players, and sure enough,
- 11:45Speaker 1: ball gets snapped. Blitz comes. I mean he's got an
- 11:48Speaker 1: unblocked defender in his face and just launches it thirty
- 11:53Speaker 1: something yards I mean, dropped in the bucket on a
- 11:57Speaker 1: dime to Terry McLaurin makes a tremendous catch and the
- 12:01Speaker 1: game was essentially over. I mean, that is as clutch
- 12:04Speaker 1: as it gets for a week three rookie.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Okay, so everything that you're describing is exactly what we're
- 12:09Speaker 3: talking about with Trevor Lawrence, right, you talk about the
- 12:11Speaker 3: superhero stuff, and it doesn't matter what year you are
- 12:14Speaker 3: in the league. Like guys have it like some guys
- 12:17Speaker 3: just have that special ability. And the thing about Jayden
- 12:21Speaker 3: coming in it not only changes the way that you
- 12:24Speaker 3: call plays, it changes the belief that your team has.
- 12:27Speaker 3: So all of a sudden, we go from kind of
- 12:29Speaker 3: treating the Washington Commanders as an afterthought to looking at
- 12:33Speaker 3: them like, I mean, can they go.
- 12:35Speaker 2: To the playoffs? Like they can they can they make
- 12:39Speaker 2: can they make a rook? Can they win to the
- 12:41Speaker 2: NFC East?
- 12:41Speaker 3: Like things that you never initially envision has all changed
- 12:47Speaker 3: because of the way the quarterback performs and the way
- 12:50Speaker 3: the quarterback is able to elevate the rest of the team.
- 12:52Speaker 3: The stuff to me that was very impressive is when
- 12:55Speaker 3: Jaydon Daniels fails the thing, Hey, we need to go
- 12:58Speaker 3: for it. It reminds me of Peyton Manning used to
- 13:01Speaker 3: have these discussions with Tony Dungee, none of that coach,
- 13:03Speaker 3: We're going, no, no, no, we're going give me it.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I got And then he goes and does it.
- 13:09Speaker 3: He not only throws it down and say oh no,
- 13:12Speaker 3: we're going, but then he makes the play to go
- 13:15Speaker 3: get it and all that does, and not only it
- 13:20Speaker 3: increases the belief that the coaches have in him, his
- 13:23Speaker 3: teammates begin to look at him like, oh, we gotta
- 13:26Speaker 3: do yeah, And when you have a dude, it changes everything.
- 13:30Speaker 3: And the only thing I like it. I won't say
- 13:32Speaker 3: that Jaydon Daniels is this guy, but I was in
- 13:34Speaker 3: Green Bay playing throughout Brett Fare's three MVP run.
- 13:39Speaker 2: We won three straight MVPs.
- 13:41Speaker 3: And I remember how magical it felt watching him play,
- 13:47Speaker 3: and how that magic changed the way the defense would
- 13:50Speaker 3: talk about, Hey, man, we're down, but hey guys, if
- 13:53Speaker 3: we just getting number four of the ball back.
- 13:55Speaker 2: We got a chance.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:57Speaker 3: That's now what's beginning to happen in Washington. They're looking
- 14:00Speaker 3: at Jaden saying, well, look, if he has the ball last,
- 14:04Speaker 3: we got a chance to win it. That helps the
- 14:06Speaker 3: team go from non contender status to contend the status overnight.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Man, it's again another good way to put it there.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And the confidence that he instills in this team and
- 14:17Speaker 1: that they now have in him. And here's the other
- 14:19Speaker 1: interesting part of this is there's plenty of overreaction now
- 14:22Speaker 1: with what's going on with the quarterback that was drafted
- 14:26Speaker 1: ahead of him, right, he's like, oh my gosh, did
- 14:27Speaker 1: the Bears make a mistake in drafting Caleb Williams. Let's
- 14:30Speaker 1: he's up on that for a second. Right, Let's he's
- 14:32Speaker 1: up on that for a second. Let's take Jaden for
- 14:34Speaker 1: what it is. But he is playing really well in
- 14:37Speaker 1: this offense with these playmakers. And now, the one thing
- 14:42Speaker 1: that I will draw as a compare contrast to the
- 14:46Speaker 1: Bears is the Commander's offensive line is not you know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: the Dallas offensive line from ten years ago compared to
- 14:56Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears, Like they are on pretty equal footing
- 14:59Speaker 1: in terms of how we expected them to perform a
- 15:03Speaker 1: talent perspective, Like neither one of these offensive lines are
- 15:06Speaker 1: amongst the best in the league. But somehow the Commanders
- 15:11Speaker 1: are figuring it out with Jaden and you know, obviously
- 15:14Speaker 1: a tremendous athlete, but Caleb is obviously a great athlete
- 15:17Speaker 1: as well, And it's just it's working a little bit
- 15:20Speaker 1: better right now for Washington. So I think, you know,
- 15:22Speaker 1: kind of looking at that and seeing how the Commanders
- 15:26Speaker 1: are finding ways for Jayden to be successful despite are
- 15:30Speaker 1: in spite of an offensive line that's a little bit
- 15:34Speaker 1: less than maybe there's something to be gained from the
- 15:36Speaker 1: Bear side of things, understanding that's what they're dealing with
- 15:40Speaker 1: as well with their quarterback.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe there's something is I mean they look, there's
- 15:45Speaker 3: something definitely to be learned from what Washington is doing
- 15:48Speaker 3: how it can help the Bears. You know, the thing
- 15:51Speaker 3: about Caleb compared to Jayden, Jayden right now looks like
- 15:56Speaker 3: he's playing the game is slow motion. Yes, Caleb looks
- 15:59Speaker 3: like the game is really really fast for him. And
- 16:03Speaker 3: maybe some of that is just a pressure in terms
- 16:06Speaker 3: of like the leakage that you're seeing in the pass protection.
- 16:08Speaker 3: But there's something where Jayden has a calm and coolness
- 16:11Speaker 3: to his game that is showing up. And when you're
- 16:15Speaker 3: looking at these teams and looking at how they're doing it,
- 16:18Speaker 3: it's about being able to put your young quarterback in
- 16:21Speaker 3: a situation to be successful.
- 16:23Speaker 1: All right. So the Commanders get their second win of
- 16:26Speaker 1: the season, their buck of dropping the Bengals, though in
- 16:29Speaker 1: the process to zero in three. Now, look, I know
- 16:33Speaker 1: there's been a kind of collection of pieces kind of
- 16:36Speaker 1: filtering in and out of the lineups here, especially you
- 16:38Speaker 1: know at the receiver spot. You know, Jamar has been
- 16:42Speaker 1: available for the season but wasn't during training. He was
- 16:45Speaker 1: great on this day, right. I mean, Joe Burrow and
- 16:47Speaker 1: Jamar Chase were everything that you expected them to be.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Six catches on, seven targets, one hundred and eighteen yards
- 16:53Speaker 1: and two touchdowns. Like any time that they were singled
- 16:56Speaker 1: up on, Jamar Joe was going that way right, and
- 16:59Speaker 1: it helped them get back into the game with that
- 17:02Speaker 1: last touchdown that they connected for. I can't necessarily like
- 17:06Speaker 1: put my finger on like why it hasn't gone right
- 17:11Speaker 1: for the Bengals other than that they have been a
- 17:16Speaker 1: slow starting team defensively. Obviously you're allowing, you know, a
- 17:19Speaker 1: little bit way too much in the in the way
- 17:21Speaker 1: of explosive plays in this game. But what are you
- 17:23Speaker 1: seeing on the Bengal side of things.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Look, I think they were disjoining it and I think
- 17:28Speaker 3: a lot of the off field stuff impacted their on
- 17:32Speaker 3: field chemistry.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Early in the season.
- 17:35Speaker 3: You know t Higgins got the injury, but before that
- 17:37Speaker 3: there was a little discord with the contract situation. Obviously
- 17:40Speaker 3: we know about Jamar Chase and the contract. I think
- 17:43Speaker 3: it's hard to no matter what professionals say, I think
- 17:47Speaker 3: it's hard to keep the focus when everyone isn't one
- 17:51Speaker 3: locked in on the team and the team's success and
- 17:53Speaker 3: what's going on and when you have your individual things,
- 17:55Speaker 3: And look, the National Football League is a team where
- 17:59Speaker 3: a fifty three man rock are fifty three independent contractors
- 18:02Speaker 3: hoping to play together because everyone is worrying about their
- 18:05Speaker 3: own business. But when you lose the novelty of what
- 18:09Speaker 3: we had when we were kids playing on the team,
- 18:11Speaker 3: it's hard to bring that back. And somehow the Bengals
- 18:15Speaker 3: have to leave all that behind them and kind of
- 18:19Speaker 3: focus on winning games, and if they win games, everyone
- 18:21Speaker 3: will be rewarded in the end. It sounds like pieing
- 18:24Speaker 3: the sky stuff, but that's the only thing that they
- 18:26Speaker 3: can do right now.
- 18:27Speaker 2: To get back on track.
- 18:29Speaker 3: They have to buy into the collective so that the
- 18:31Speaker 3: individual can benefit down the line in terms of what
- 18:34Speaker 3: they want.
- 18:36Speaker 1: All Right, we'll see if the Bengals can figure this
- 18:38Speaker 1: thing out. Here zero and three right now are the
- 18:42Speaker 1: Cincinnati Bengals, and just as give us a glimpse of
- 18:45Speaker 1: what they have coming up on the road at Carolina.
- 18:48Speaker 1: So look, Panthers, aren't They're not just a pushover anymore.
- 18:51Speaker 1: With Andy Dalton a quarterback, they've proven to be a
- 18:53Speaker 1: competent football team. We'll see what that looks like. And
- 18:56Speaker 1: then they've got the Baltimore Ravens at home, Oh Giants
- 19:01Speaker 1: on the road, Browns on the road. They got three
- 19:04Speaker 1: to their next four on the road. So it's not
- 19:06Speaker 1: like it's it's necessarily setting up for them just to
- 19:08Speaker 1: walk into some success here over the course of the
- 19:11Speaker 1: next couple of games. But they got to figure out
- 19:12Speaker 1: a way to win some and get this season rolling
- 19:15Speaker 1: before it gets late early here in Cincinnati. Okay, the
- 19:20Speaker 1: moment we've all been waiting for the rookie draft, and
- 19:25Speaker 1: we'll get to that right after this. Okay, the rookie
- 19:33Speaker 1: draft from Week three has now come and gone, and
- 19:36Speaker 1: before we make our picks for week four, Nebiel, do
- 19:39Speaker 1: you want to let us know exactly what the results
- 19:41Speaker 1: were from Week three? I just I got a feeling
- 19:45Speaker 1: that I won the quarterback spot with Jayden Daniels, but
- 19:48Speaker 1: that I goosegged everywhere else. So I don't know that three.
- 19:51Speaker 1: DJ got five points, So three from Moleik Neighbors who
- 19:56Speaker 1: he took last week, and then he got uh, probably
- 20:01Speaker 1: two somewhere else. Okay, Bucky, you got three points. That's
- 20:06Speaker 1: gonna be just good enough for last because I got.
- 20:08Speaker 2: What does that mean? What does that mean? Three points?
- 20:11Speaker 2: I don't know what the scoring system like, what what's just?
- 20:15Speaker 1: It is what it is. So Neighbors Neighbors got the
- 20:18Speaker 1: DJ three, Marvin Harrison got you two, uh D, Brian
- 20:26Speaker 1: Thomas Junior got DJ two, McConkie got me one, Bowers
- 20:31Speaker 1: got you zero, Bucky and Burton got me zero, and
- 20:34Speaker 1: then I had Jayden Daniels. So that's that's how that
- 20:37Speaker 1: all worked out right there. Okay, DJ has got the
- 20:40Speaker 1: first pick. So here's how that order is gonna go.
- 20:43Speaker 1: DJ is gonna be up first, and Nebil has his
- 20:46Speaker 1: first selection, and then it's going to make his other
- 20:48Speaker 1: two selections for him. So we'll see how much DJ
- 20:51Speaker 1: hates Nobile by the end of this. So DJ one,
- 20:54Speaker 1: Bucky You've got the second pick. I have the third pick.
- 20:57Speaker 1: It comes back to me for pick four, so I've
- 20:59Speaker 1: double up three and four. Bucky you're back at five.
- 21:02Speaker 1: DJ doubles up at six and seven, and then Bucky
- 21:06Speaker 1: you go eight, and I finish it at nine. All right,
- 21:10Speaker 1: So DJ with the first pick has selected Malik Neighbors
- 21:14Speaker 1: again for like the third straight week, which I do
- 21:16Speaker 1: not fault him for he is the most explosive in
- 21:19Speaker 1: dynamite rookie we have this year outside or in the
- 21:22Speaker 1: skill position group, Bucky, that brings you up at two?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Do we even have to talk about it?
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 21:28Speaker 2: Ready to run the card up.
- 21:29Speaker 1: We're going to Washington, We're going to the Nations Cap.
- 21:31Speaker 2: We'll give me a quarterback, Jane Daniels.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Okay, Bucky going Jade Daniels at two, which means I
- 21:37Speaker 1: could get the second quarterback here, which is kind of
- 21:39Speaker 1: hard to figure out, Like Caleb's starting to put up
- 21:43Speaker 1: numbers in a losing effort while oh Nix is playing
- 21:46Speaker 1: a little bit more efficient. Uh, and he got the
- 21:50Speaker 1: Broncos a win last week. So I might just wait
- 21:53Speaker 1: it out on the quarterbacks and I might go Marvin
- 21:56Speaker 1: Harrison Junior. I'm gonna go with him as my number
- 22:00Speaker 1: three pick. Seems to be finding a little bit of
- 22:02Speaker 1: a connection now with Kyler Murray. And then I am
- 22:10Speaker 1: going to go, oh, I'm gonna make our first running
- 22:16Speaker 1: back selection.
- 22:17Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 22:18Speaker 1: I am gonna take a running back here. Give me
- 22:21Speaker 1: Brayleen Allen, the running back for the New York Jets.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Splitting some time with with our guy Breze Hall, but
- 22:30Speaker 1: his finding the end zone. And I think Braylan Allen
- 22:33Speaker 1: is going to be a stud. So give me Brayleen Allen,
- 22:36Speaker 1: which means you are up at number five.
- 22:37Speaker 2: By okay, so you took who it three?
- 22:39Speaker 1: You took Marvin Harrison, Okay, Martin Harrison Junior Braiden that
- 22:44Speaker 1: you took a running back and so okay.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Uh I look, I'm I'm struggling this week, but I
- 22:56Speaker 3: guess I will take wide receiver Brian Thomas, and you're
- 23:00Speaker 3: to have me Bouce going back to bt okay to
- 23:03Speaker 3: have a bounce back.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Uh. So that brings DJ up at six and seven
- 23:07Speaker 1: to Bill, what do you want to do here? Buddy?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Caleb Williams at six, so he's taking the quarterback at six,
- 23:13Speaker 1: and then at seven he's going Brock Bowers, which means
- 23:18Speaker 1: at eight, Bucky, Uh you, sir.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I saw him last night. So I'm gonna go with
- 23:23Speaker 2: this guy. I'm gonna go with Kenyan.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Colemanan Coleman, Coleman, Coleman.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on, Oh did you did you take
- 23:30Speaker 1: a quarterback yet?
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah? Jaye two?
- 23:33Speaker 1: Oh that's right? Shoot, Okay, Which of course leaves me
- 23:38Speaker 1: with Bo Nicks at number nine. Right, you like that.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I'm good with him. I'm totally good with Bo's a
- 23:44Speaker 1: winner's a competitor, and Sean Payton's gonna start. Yeah, aaron
- 23:48Speaker 1: I thing out a little bet for Bo now that
- 23:50Speaker 1: he's on the right fantasy team here this week, all right,
- 23:53Speaker 1: So that's how it'll go. Uh, DJ's got a pretty good,
- 23:56Speaker 1: pretty good team, Elik neighbors, Caleb Williams, Brock Bowers, Uh,
- 24:00Speaker 1: Bucky going with Brian Thomas Junior, Jaden Daniels uh. And
- 24:05Speaker 1: then what was your third pick?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Buck? I went with uh Ken Coleman.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Keon Coleman right, all right, he got that he got
- 24:12Speaker 1: in the end zone for the Buffalo Bills, so he
- 24:14Speaker 1: saw have to be a bitch looking.
- 24:17Speaker 2: He was able to back in.
- 24:18Speaker 1: He's able to hope he shows up on time for you.
- 24:20Speaker 1: We know when kickoff is all right, that's gonna do
- 24:23Speaker 1: it for us here. But we got a lot more
- 24:25Speaker 1: content coming up for you this week, including a conversation
- 24:27Speaker 1: with Joel Klatt, the lead college football analyst over on
- 24:31Speaker 1: Fox Sports, and the big noon kickoff. So excited to
- 24:34Speaker 1: chat with Joel here, and that'll be coming up for
- 24:35Speaker 1: you a little bit later. So for Bucky Brooks, I
- 24:37Speaker 1: am Red Lewis. Thanks for being with us right here
- 24:39Speaker 1: on move this time
