- 0:01Speaker 1: We are back with a Fox News alert any moment now.
- 0:04Speaker 1: President Trump is said to meet with Katari and UAE
- 0:08Speaker 1: leaders ahead of the Straight of horn MOUs fully reopening
- 0:11Speaker 1: this Friday.
- 0:12Speaker 2: It all comes as Israel keeps pressure on Hezballah in Lebanon,
- 0:15Speaker 2: saying terrorist operatives still pose an immediate threat to Israeli
- 0:19Speaker 2: forces in the region, but the commander in chief is
- 0:22Speaker 2: hopeful he can straighten all this out. She Foreign correspondent
- 0:25Speaker 2: Trey yings back live in Tel Aviv with the latest track.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, guys, good morning. As President Trump attends the
- 0:32Speaker 3: G seven, the world is waiting for the detailed text
- 0:36Speaker 3: of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Senior US officials said yesterday on a briefing that in
- 0:43Speaker 3: the next twenty four to forty eight hours the public
- 0:46Speaker 3: would get to see new insight into what is actually
- 0:49Speaker 3: in the agreement. One of those officials explained the deal
- 0:52Speaker 3: is performance based, meaning Iran wouldn't benefit from sanctions relief
- 0:56Speaker 3: unless they adhere to their end of the deal. This
- 0:58Speaker 3: means the opening of the Straight of Hormone and entering
- 1:01Speaker 3: into detailed discussions to dismantle their nuclear program. Overnight. Vice
- 1:05Speaker 3: President Jade Vance was on Hannity and explain more about
- 1:08Speaker 3: how the goal is to give Iran a chance to
- 1:10Speaker 3: integrate into the world economy.
- 1:14Speaker 4: The agreement says they are not getting a single dime
- 1:16Speaker 4: of American money. That's just not what this is. What
- 1:19Speaker 4: the agreement does say, Sean is again, if the Iranians
- 1:23Speaker 4: behave and if there are sanctions relief, and if the
- 1:26Speaker 4: Iranians are integrated into the world economy, we would invite
- 1:30Speaker 4: other countries, not US, but other countries to invest in
- 1:33Speaker 4: their country. That's fine, but only if they comply with
- 1:37Speaker 4: the terms of the agreement.
- 1:40Speaker 3: We know that the agreement calls for a ceasefire on
- 1:42Speaker 3: all fronts, including Lebanon. US officials say Israel will be
- 1:46Speaker 3: allowed to respond if attacked by Iran backed Hasbalah, and
- 1:49Speaker 3: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the fight is not over.
- 1:54Speaker 5: We save the state of Israel from nihilation. But I
- 1:58Speaker 5: tell you citizens of Israel ugly, it's not over. We
- 2:01Speaker 5: will have to continue standing God, continue being strong, determined
- 2:05Speaker 5: to defend ourselves as necessary.
- 2:08Speaker 3: With the Israelis on high alert, some here have expressed
- 2:11Speaker 3: distaste with the agreement where it won't adequately address Iran's
- 2:15Speaker 3: desire for a nuclear program. President Trump spoke upon arriving
- 2:18Speaker 3: at the G seven saying this about Iran's former path
- 2:21Speaker 3: to a nuclear weapon.
- 2:24Speaker 6: The main thing is that I ren will not have
- 2:25Speaker 6: a nuclear weapon. They fully agree to that with strong
- 2:29Speaker 6: policing powers. And they won't have a nuclear weapon, which
- 2:33Speaker 6: is what it was all about, because they probably would
- 2:37Speaker 6: have used it if they had it. So we had
- 2:39Speaker 6: two big moments when they terminated the JCPOA. That was
- 2:43Speaker 6: the Obama deal. He brought and said Obama deal. And
- 2:48Speaker 6: when I terminated that, it was very point because it
- 2:50Speaker 6: was a road to a nuclear weapon.
- 2:55Speaker 3: As journalists, we must continue to ask difficult questions about
- 2:58Speaker 3: this agreement. One of those questions is what if what
- 3:01Speaker 3: if the Iranians are unwilling to make those concessions at
- 3:04Speaker 3: the negotiating table as it relates to their nuclear program.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah, gosh, it's a great question and no doubt one
- 3:09Speaker 1: that's going to come up at this G seven summit
- 3:11Speaker 1: today and to tomorrow. And we are waiting President Trump's
- 3:15Speaker 1: meeting Trey with the Amir of Qatar, could happen any
- 3:17Speaker 1: minute now. But when it comes to Qatar. It's a
- 3:21Speaker 1: complicated country to dive into and think about because they
- 3:26Speaker 1: have been a great mediator in all of this, but
- 3:28Speaker 1: at the same time they were also a safe haven
- 3:32Speaker 1: for top Hamas leaders for a while. So how should
- 3:37Speaker 1: we view Qatar as a player in all of this.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Yeah, the guitar has played a critical role in getting
- 3:43Speaker 3: this deal across the finish line. A diplomat familiar with
- 3:46Speaker 3: the situation told Fox News the negotiating team from Qatar
- 3:49Speaker 3: was in Tihran ultimately when this deal was reached, and
- 3:53Speaker 3: they have acted as a backdoor intermediary for the United
- 3:56Speaker 3: States to work on some of the finer details. I
- 3:59Speaker 3: do want to give you some new information though, that
- 4:01Speaker 3: we're getting from Iran's foreign minister who spoke from Tehran
- 4:05Speaker 3: just in the last two hours, and he said this,
- 4:08Speaker 3: as it relates to the issue of Lebanon in this agreement.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Perhaps man and definitely any military attack by thesignister Gien
- 4:19Speaker 7: against Lebanon from this point forward, as well as the
- 4:22Speaker 7: continued occupation of Lebanese territory from this point forward, will
- 4:27Speaker 7: be considered by US a relation of the memorandum of understanding.
- 4:33Speaker 3: So this is really important because the Iranian Foreign Minister
- 4:37Speaker 3: says that any attack in Lebanon will be considered a
- 4:40Speaker 3: violation of the memorandum of understanding. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
- 4:45Speaker 3: that Yahoo last night indicated that the Israelis will continue
- 4:48Speaker 3: to operate against hesboalah An, a run back group that
- 4:52Speaker 3: is continuing to fire drones and rockets into Israel, and
- 4:55Speaker 3: even US officials yesterday indicated the Israelis will have the
- 4:59Speaker 3: ability to respond against Tesbola if their civilians come under attack,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and so this could be a major sticking point in
- 5:05Speaker 3: this agreement. Once again, the Iranians are trying to tie
- 5:08Speaker 3: the situation in Lebanon to the broader agreement with the
- 5:11Speaker 3: United States.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Guys, and it all begs the question will it hold?
- 5:15Speaker 6: What will hold?
- 5:16Speaker 2: What happens over the course of the next week and beyond.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Trey Yanks, thank you.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Let's bring in former Deputy National Security Advisor and Heritage
- 5:23Speaker 2: Foundation a vice president of National Security Victoria coachs Tragus
- 5:28Speaker 2: gave a tremendous backdrop on all the facts and what
- 5:32Speaker 2: is happening in the interplay behind the scenes. But President
- 5:35Speaker 2: Trump is at the G seven today, He's got a
- 5:37Speaker 2: Selvice deal to his fellow leaders there, What does he
- 5:41Speaker 2: do to sell this? How should he sell the Iran
- 5:44Speaker 2: deal to the G seven?
- 5:48Speaker 8: Good to see you, Todd and Carly. I mean, I
- 5:50Speaker 8: think it's very rich to have the Iranian Foreign minister
- 5:53Speaker 8: talking about Lebanese sovereignty when that's exactly what Iran is
- 5:58Speaker 8: violating right now. On is a sovereign country indeed, and
- 6:03Speaker 8: they are trying to get reached a deal with Israel,
- 6:05Speaker 8: which Iran is trying to disrupt, and so they are
- 6:08Speaker 8: just being utterly illogical here and how they're approaching Lebanon.
- 6:12Speaker 8: So that is a huge problem I think going forward
- 6:15Speaker 8: now in terms of selling the deal, I mean, I
- 6:17Speaker 8: don't think President Trump needs to do much. The Europeans
- 6:20Speaker 8: and the Japanese who are present at this G seven
- 6:23Speaker 8: are all pretty desperate to get the Strait of Remotes open.
- 6:26Speaker 8: That's much more important to them than it is to us.
- 6:29Speaker 8: So I think they are all very very happy that
- 6:31Speaker 8: we've reached this kind of a deal that they're going
- 6:33Speaker 8: to start to get the free flows of energy out
- 6:37Speaker 8: of the Gulf on which they depend, and so I
- 6:39Speaker 8: don't think he's going to have to sell it very much.
- 6:41Speaker 8: I think They're just going to need to get to
- 6:43Speaker 8: the point where we hopefully the Europeans and the Japanese
- 6:46Speaker 8: can support this thing and encourage the Iranians to be
- 6:50Speaker 8: reasonable and implement it.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and Victoria going back to Lebanon for a minute,
- 6:54Speaker 1: because there is this effort by Secretary of State Marco
- 6:56Speaker 1: Rubio to get the Israelis and Lebanese governments normally ties,
- 7:00Speaker 1: which would ultimately disarm Hesbela.
- 7:02Speaker 8: That would be the goal.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But when you hear the Iranian Foreign Minister say something
- 7:06Speaker 1: like any attack in Lebanon would be a violation of
- 7:10Speaker 1: the memorandum of understanding, and then you have Israel saying
- 7:13Speaker 1: we are not gonna you know, we're not going to
- 7:16Speaker 1: give up our ground in Lebanon. We're not going to
- 7:18Speaker 1: remove troops. We're going to keep going if we are attacked,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and the President also acknowledging that that is the realistic
- 7:24Speaker 1: thing that would need to happen. What does the Lebanon
- 7:27Speaker 1: element and the Hesbela element mean going forward when it
- 7:29Speaker 1: comes to this overall memorandum, Well, I think the.
- 7:34Speaker 8: Burden is going to have to be on the Iranians,
- 7:36Speaker 8: Karl to help rein in Hesbelah, because I mean Hesbla
- 7:39Speaker 8: is firing thousands of drones and rockets at Israel. So
- 7:43Speaker 8: this is an Israel attacking Hesbela. This is Hezela attacking
- 7:46Speaker 8: Israel and Israel responding. So if Iran doesn't want Hazebla
- 7:51Speaker 8: to be attacked, they have to have them stop firing
- 7:54Speaker 8: at Israel. I mean, that is just It's a very
- 7:56Speaker 8: simple equation, but they don't seem to be grasping it.
- 7:59Speaker 8: And you know, I think it is very important though
- 8:02Speaker 8: as we look at that area to think about how
- 8:05Speaker 8: isolated Hesbela now is. You know, we no longer have
- 8:09Speaker 8: that land bridge that Iran was using in the form
- 8:12Speaker 8: of Syria to get material and money into Lebanon to
- 8:16Speaker 8: finance and supply Hesbelah. That's gone. Syria is now the
- 8:20Speaker 8: enemy of Iran. And then you also have I wouldn't
- 8:24Speaker 8: call it a strong government of Lebanon, but at least
- 8:27Speaker 8: you know something that's in Beirut that wants to deal
- 8:30Speaker 8: with Israel, that wants to come to an arrangement with
- 8:33Speaker 8: the Jewish State get to a place of peace. The
- 8:36Speaker 8: heir attendant in that is Hesbela. So you know, that
- 8:39Speaker 8: isolation of Hesbelah is new, it is an opportunity. So
- 8:43Speaker 8: I think Israel needs to be able to defend itself.
- 8:46Speaker 8: Obviously the President has said that that is their clear
- 8:49Speaker 8: right and do what they need to do to control Hesbela.
- 8:53Speaker 8: But as I said up top, you know that burden
- 8:55Speaker 8: has to be on Iran as well if they actually
- 8:58Speaker 8: want there to be some kind of peaceful resilent all to.
- 9:00Speaker 2: This, all this with the G seven in the background
- 9:04Speaker 2: in the foreground in our show, we've been covering it
