Latest / Mom Street USA / 98. Disney Tech Talk
Transcript
- 0:05Welcome everybody to Moms for USA.
- 0:07My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama.
- 0:09And for today's episode we are talking about Disney tech.
- 0:14So we are going to be going over the My Disney Experience app for
- 0:19Disney World and a little bit about the Disneyland app for
- 0:22West Coast friends out there. But we're going to be focusing
- 0:26on using the app on your trip, before your trip and focusing on
- 0:30things that will help parents with kids being at the parks and
- 0:35using the app at the parks. So that is the plan for today.
- 0:40The episode is going to focus on using, like I said, the Disney
- 0:43World app, which is called My Disney Experience and a few
- 0:46other resources we'll throw in there as well to help make the
- 0:49most of your Disney trip. So just do keep in mind that
- 0:53like I said, we are going to be talking about both coasts.
- 0:56I am going to focus a little bit more more on Disney World just
- 1:00because that is my comfort zone, but I am going to be making some
- 1:03notes about Disneyland as we go. If you are someone who is
- 1:07looking for Disneyland information, it will be in this
- 1:10episode. However, there will be several
- 1:13things that I talk about today that are different from between
- 1:17Disney World and Disneyland and there'll be a lot of things that
- 1:19are the same. The apps are completely
- 1:21separate, so keep that in mind as you are listening so that you
- 1:24don't get confused. I will do my best to clarify as
- 1:27we go. So you know which apps I'm
- 1:29talking about and when, but the primary focus is going to be
- 1:33that My Disney Experience app. So obviously let's talk about
- 1:37before your trip. And the very first thing you're
- 1:39going to need to do is download that app.
- 1:42The the important thing about downloading this app and signing
- 1:46in and getting logged in is that you need to use the same e-mail
- 1:51that you have used for any other Disney reservation things that
- 1:56you have done up to this point. So if your trip is booked, even
- 2:01if you booked through a travel agent or if you booked on your
- 2:03own, whatever e-mail address you are using to book that trip
- 2:08needs to be the same e-mail address that you use whenever
- 2:13you log into the app. So download the My Disney
- 2:15Experience app and use that same e-mail address.
- 2:19The same thing goes for Disneyland.
- 2:21So no matter which side you're logging into, Disney now has
- 2:24streamlined. So all of their accounts,
- 2:26whether it's Disney World, Disneyland, your Disney Plus
- 2:30account, anything that you log in under the Disney umbrella is
- 2:35all going to be under the same e-mail.
- 2:37So that is super important because otherwise you'll
- 2:40accidentally create duplicate accounts and you won't be able
- 2:43to see any of your stuff on the app.
- 2:44So don't do that. Use the same e-mail that you
- 2:48used if you are, if you already have booked or if you already
- 2:50have a Disney account. If you don't have any of those
- 2:53things, you you don't have Disney Plus or you haven't
- 2:56already used, haven't already made your reservation yet,
- 3:01whatever e-mail you want to use is fine, but make sure you write
- 3:04down that username and password or make sure you save it.
- 3:07Because everything else in the future Disney wise that you log
- 3:10into, you want to make sure that you keep it all under the same
- 3:14account. So that way Disney knows who you
- 3:16are and you can access all of your stuff.
- 3:18So that's kind of step one is setting that up, making sure
- 3:23that you have the ability to to log in and view all of your
- 3:27everything. Because in theory, once you log
- 3:30in, as long as you've done your reservation for your trip
- 3:33already log in with that same e-mail, everything should kind
- 3:36of prepopulate for you. So it shouldn't be a big deal to
- 3:40add your reservations on or be able to find all your stuff.
- 3:43It should already be there for you.
- 3:44So that's kind of the basics of setting up your account.
- 3:48And we're going to kind of walk through this step by step after
- 3:51that, talking about things to do before your trip.
- 3:54And then we'll also talk about during your trip, some really
- 3:56helpful things that you could do on your app as well.
- 3:59So the next thing that I want to talk about is kind of goes hand
- 4:04in hand with creating your account and that is creating
- 4:08your the the accounts for the other people that are going to
- 4:11be in your travel party. So let's talk about this.
- 4:14Now keep in mind what I'm going to talk about first.
- 4:17This has to do with Disney World.
- 4:19Disneyland is separate in this particular aspect.
- 4:22OK? So for Disney World, you are
- 4:25going to set up what they call the family and friends list, and
- 4:29this is part of your profile under your Disney account.
- 4:33So the people in your travel party, once you've already made
- 4:38your reservation, should automatically load into your
- 4:42account. You should automatically be able
- 4:45to see them. So the way that you can double
- 4:47check that is on your My Disney Experience app, when you just
- 4:52load the home screen, make sure you're logged in, make sure it
- 4:55says welcome and then your name. On the home screen, in the
- 4:59bottom right corner, there is that three line menu, also known
- 5:04as a hamburger menu because it looks like you got a bun and
- 5:07then a Patty and then a bun, right?
- 5:083 lines. So you'll hear me refer to that
- 5:11as your hamburger menu because I like that term and I think it's
- 5:13fun. So if you click that hamburger
- 5:15menu, scroll almost all the way down to the bottom, you will see
- 5:19your profile option. Click on that and then there
- 5:23will be two tabs at the top of your screen.
- 5:26One will say profile, one will say your family and friends.
- 5:29When you click into that, you should be able to see everybody
- 5:33in your travel party. They should already be pre
- 5:35loaded because when you made your reservation, whether you
- 5:38did it through a travel agent or you did it yourself, you would
- 5:40have had to enter their names and their ages.
- 5:44So that should already be pre populated for you.
- 5:47If it's not, then that is something that you need to
- 5:51contact Disney about because you do not want to create duplicate
- 5:55accounts for people. It's very, very tricky when that
- 5:58happens. So if you do not see them, go
- 6:01back to that hamburger menu and there's going to be a box option
- 6:04along the top. You're going to have like 7 or 8
- 6:07boxes along the top. One of them is going to say like
- 6:10chat with us or something like that.
- 6:12Do that. Talk to to the Disney
- 6:14representative. They should be able to help you
- 6:16get that going. But again, do not add people if
- 6:21they should already be on your reservation in your travel party
- 6:26because we don't want duplicate accounts.
- 6:27Things get very complicated when that happens, especially when it
- 6:30comes to booking dining and Lightning Lanes and things like
- 6:34that. So we'll get to that in a little
- 6:35bit. If you want to be in charge of
- 6:39everybody else's plans for your travel party, let's say it's
- 6:43you, another adult and two kids. Let's say that, you know, that's
- 6:46what my family makeup is. It's me, my husband and my two
- 6:48kids. If you want to be the one that
- 6:51is in charge of everybody's plans, they do not need to
- 6:56create their own Disney account. They can just live and exist
- 7:01under yours and you will be able to do everything for them that
- 7:05needs to be done. When it comes to, again, dining
- 7:08reservations, Lightning lanes, tapping into the park, all of
- 7:11those things. For example, my husband Andrew
- 7:15does not have his own login for my Disney experience.
- 7:19He does have the app on his phone.
- 7:20He just uses my login and he has access to everything.
- 7:24So he doesn't have his own account.
- 7:25We just both login and use my account and it works perfectly
- 7:28well that way. He's still able to do mobile
- 7:31orders, dining, all, you know, all of those things.
- 7:34So it's not necessary. Now, if you're traveling with a
- 7:38friend group, you may want to consider having your friends
- 7:43also log into the app on their own because then you will be
- 7:48able to split up and pay for things separately and kind of do
- 7:51your own thing. You don't have to.
- 7:53Again, you can all use a shared login if you choose to.
- 7:57It just depends on your preference with that.
- 7:59So if you want to add somebody and they do not already have a
- 8:04My Disney Experience account, they do not already have that
- 8:09set up. You need to send them the invite
- 8:13first before they create an account.
- 8:16Again, this will help not create duplicate accounts for you.
- 8:21So from your friends and family list, as long as they are over
- 8:26the age of I believe it's 16 but it might be 18.
- 8:30I'm not 100% sure on that. You will see the option to if
- 8:33you click on to their profile, you will see the option to like
- 8:37invite them to plan or something along the lines of that.
- 8:40So you will use that option to send them an e-mail request to
- 8:46invite them to create an account using the e-mail that you send
- 8:49it to. So ask them what their e-mail
- 8:50preferences, type that in, send that to them.
- 8:53Then they will go through the prompt and they will log in and
- 8:57create their account using that e-mail and it will then auto
- 9:00link you guys together. Now if that person that you are
- 9:05planning with already has a My Disney Experience account, the
- 9:09same thing can be done, but you have to make sure that whatever
- 9:12e-mail you're sending it to is the e-mail that they have set up
- 9:16under their My Disney Experience app.
- 9:18Or again, you're going to create duplicate accounts.
- 9:21O if I'm planning with our good friend Stevie, who is one of our
- 9:26hub Co hosts over here on Mom Street, if I'm planning with her
- 9:30and we're not linked together yet, we are linked together.
- 9:33We've been linked together for forever on our accounts because
- 9:35we do a lot of trips together. But when we were starting out
- 9:38and we needed to get linked together, we both had our
- 9:41separate accounts. So we just had to confirm with
- 9:43each other. Hey, what's the e-mail on your
- 9:45account? I'm going to send you a request.
- 9:48And then once we did that one way and went through and clicked
- 9:51all the yeses and accepting buttons, then we were linked
- 9:54together. We were good to go.
- 9:56But you have to just make sure that those e-mail addresses link
- 9:59and match with what people already doing or else you'll
- 10:02you'll run into issues there. Now, the one situation and the
- 10:06one kind of anomaly to not needing separate accounts is if
- 10:12you have a very large travel party, you may need and likely
- 10:18will need a second account in order to do dining reservations.
- 10:22For example, I did a big family trip back in at Memorial Day.
- 10:27There were ten of us. Finding a dining reservation for
- 10:3210 is a lot harder than finding a reservation for 5:00 and 5:00
- 10:36because of the way that restaurants make up their
- 10:39tables. Because they have limited large
- 10:42party spaces. It was nearly impossible to find
- 10:46a reservation for 10. But a reservation for 4-5 or six
- 10:50is a lot easier to do so because you would have to split your
- 10:55party. You have to have two separate
- 10:57emails to be able to do that because Disney will not allow
- 11:00you to book conflicting dining reservations.
- 11:04So let's say we're trying to book something like Cape May
- 11:08Cafe at 6:00 PM for dinner. I can't hold a reservation for
- 11:135:00 and 5:00 at the same time because Disney will view that as
- 11:18a conflicting reservation. They won't let you do that.
- 11:20But I can hold a reservation for five and my sister's account
- 11:24could hold a reservation for five and then all ten of us were
- 11:27covered. So that's the only time where
- 11:30you may run into issues of not having a second account on your
- 11:35for your travel party. But if you're a party of 6 or
- 11:38less, you probably won't need it any more than six.
- 11:41I would suggest looking at maybe splitting up or seeing what you
- 11:45can do for as far as dining goes because it will just be a lot
- 11:50easier to find your dining reservations with a smaller
- 11:52party just just the way it is. So other than that, there is no
- 11:57reason that the other adults in your travel party need to have
- 12:02their own My Disney Experience login.
- 12:04Again, all of that is exclusive to Disney World.
- 12:08So all of the friends and family that I just talked about and the
- 12:12linking in the emails and all of that applies to Disney World.
- 12:16If you are doing Disneyland, your process is different and
- 12:22more simplistic. Setting up your account is the
- 12:25same. Exactly the same as what it was
- 12:28that we talked about earlier when it comes to the emails and
- 12:31downloading the the app and everything.
- 12:34The Disneyland app is different than the My Disney Experience
- 12:37app. So My Disney Experience app is
- 12:39for Disney World. The Disneyland app is just
- 12:41called the Disneyland app. So easy enough to remember and
- 12:45to figure out when it comes to that.
- 12:47But now with the Disneyland app for West Coast, there is no
- 12:52friends and family list on that app.
- 12:55So it's not something that you have to even worry about like
- 12:58adding people and making sure everybody's there to add people
- 13:03to your Disneyland app. If you want to do dining,
- 13:07lightning lanes, things like that together, what you have to
- 13:10do is add their ticket or their pass to the parks to your app by
- 13:16scanning it. So completely different, totally
- 13:20not the same as what we just talked about.
- 13:22You don't have to worry about emails.
- 13:23You just have to be able to load their pass onto your Disneyland
- 13:28app. And then from there you'll have
- 13:30access to be able to make plans together.
- 13:33So a little bit different, more simplistic, not as many steps
- 13:38involved when it comes to that. And that's simply because
- 13:40Disneyland has way more locals. And we've talked about this
- 13:44before. There are so many more locals
- 13:47there that people don't need as many hoops to jump through with
- 13:51their travel party because typically it's just people in
- 13:54their household or like friends that they go to the parks with
- 13:56frequently. They're not traveling with this
- 13:59group that also needs to have, you know, access to a resort
- 14:02room and this and that and the other.
- 14:04So it's just different when it comes to that aspect of
- 14:07everything. So Disney World, go through all
- 14:10those steps with friends and family.
- 14:12Disneyland, you just have to load their ticket or pass onto
- 14:16your account and you'll be able to do that again in your in in
- 14:21the app through that hamburger menu.
- 14:23You'll be able to see the ability to add passes to your
- 14:27account from there. So that's kind of the gist of
- 14:30setting everything up again. If you have issues with any of
- 14:35that or you feel like you are not finding what I'm saying or
- 14:38you're you're worried about creating extra people, the chat
- 14:42function on the app is really, really good.
- 14:45The cast members there are super, super helpful.
- 14:48They are able to 9 times out of 10 fix what is going on.
- 14:51You don't even have to get on the phone if you're like me and
- 14:54you don't have time to sit on the phone waiting for Disney to
- 14:56answer or don't want to. The chat function is really
- 14:59good. Now if you're someone who wants
- 15:00to do a phone call, you can also call them.
- 15:02Either way is good, but the chat feature on your app is really,
- 15:05really good. You'll get in direct contact
- 15:07with the cast members that way as well.
- 15:10One of the other things that you might do before your trip is
- 15:13booking dining reservations. So I've already mentioned this a
- 15:15couple times in today's episode, but booking dining reservations
- 15:20is something that you will want to make sure you have this app
- 15:24and your account all situated and set up beforehand because
- 15:28you will need it in order to be able to book those dining
- 15:31reservations. So there are two ways that you
- 15:33can book dining reservation. And this applies to both Disney
- 15:38World and Disneyland that reservations are available 60
- 15:42days ahead of the date at 6:00 AM local time.
- 15:47So if you're booking Disney World at 6:00 AM Eastern, if
- 15:50you're booking Disneyland, it'll be 6:00 AM Pacific there.
- 15:54And the process as far as how you book is, is pretty identical
- 15:58when it comes to that. So two ways to book.
- 16:02You can book on the app directly, which is what we were
- 16:05just talking about. You can also use the website to
- 16:08book. My biggest suggestion is to have
- 16:11both available to you. Sometimes the app is super slow
- 16:15and doesn't load dining reservations.
- 16:17Sometimes the website is super slow and doesn't want to load
- 16:20dining reservations. I would always suggest having
- 16:23both available and both logged in and that's what I do whenever
- 16:26I am booking because typically one works better than the other.
- 16:30I do typically find that the website tends to work better for
- 16:34me and doesn't have as long of a buffer time and I'm able to
- 16:37click through the screens a little bit quicker to get what
- 16:40I'm looking for. You always want to be sure
- 16:43before you start your dining reservations like the day before
- 16:47at the very latest, you want to make sure your payment method is
- 16:50already saved on your account. And you can do that under your
- 16:53profile and you can do that online on the website or you can
- 16:57do it on your app. If you're doing it on your app,
- 17:00again, you're going to click that three line hamburger menu.
- 17:02You're going to Scroll down to where it says profile, and one
- 17:05of the options on your profile is going to be like manage
- 17:08payment accounts or things like that.
- 17:11And you will be able to pre to save credit cards in there.
- 17:15Unfortunately, they don't let you save gift cards in there.
- 17:18So you want to make sure you have a credit card available.
- 17:22And the reason for that is Disney keeps your card on file
- 17:27in case of no shows. Disney does charge a fee if you
- 17:31no show and don't go to your dining reservation and don't
- 17:34cancel it. So that is what the credit card
- 17:37is for unless you are going to an experience that requires you
- 17:42to prepay, which would be Cinderella's Royal Table and the
- 17:47Hoop Dee Doo Review at Disney World.
- 17:49Both of those are prepaid. So you want to make sure that
- 17:53whatever card you're using, you're OK with pre paying for
- 17:59those two experiences. If you're going to book either
- 18:01of those, all of your other dining experiences at Disney
- 18:05World that you book, that card just exists for you to be able
- 18:10to have that hold in case there is a no show situation that you
- 18:15have. Again, they don't charge
- 18:18automatically except for the exception of Cinderella's Royal
- 18:21table. And who did you review?
- 18:23Now keep in mind that as far as the 60 day window goes, we
- 18:28talked about that your dining will open at 60 days.
- 18:32If you are staying at a valid Disney Resort hotel, you will be
- 18:37able to make your reservation 60 days in advance of your arrival
- 18:40for your entire length of stay, up to 10 nights.
- 18:45So you'll be able to log on at your 60 day from your check in
- 18:49and book for up to 10 days out based on the length of your
- 18:53stay. Other guests, if you are not
- 18:56staying on property at Disney, you will be able to make
- 19:00reservations 60 days in advance. So you'll have to do it
- 19:04day-to-day. If you are not staying on
- 19:07property again, at approximately 6:00 AM Eastern, it could be
- 19:11530, it could be 615. Around 6:00 AM Eastern daily,
- 19:17the new reservation booking windows will become available.
- 19:21If you are someone that needs further guidance on dining and
- 19:25is like, I don't even know what's available.
- 19:27I don't know what's good for my kids.
- 19:29I don't know what options there are or there are too many
- 19:31options. I'm overwhelmed.
- 19:33Way back in our archives, Kate and I did some episodes on AD Rs
- 19:38Advanced dining reservations. So episodes 5152 and 53.
- 19:43We covered all four Disney parks and both California parks.
- 19:46So if you need advice and suggestions on dining, take a
- 19:51look at those. We talked about the restaurants
- 19:53in depthly and we talked about menu options, theming, all of
- 19:57that. So if you need more guidance on
- 19:59what to book, go there. But let's talk about how to book
- 20:03those dining reservations. So if you are doing it on the
- 20:07app, you're going to click the plus button at the bottom of the
- 20:09screen and then you're going to select Check dining
- 20:11availability. From there you will select your
- 20:14party size, the date to the time, and then the restaurant.
- 20:18Again, we talked about if you have a party larger than about
- 20:206. Splitting your party into two
- 20:22groups will help you find better availability.
- 20:25Like I mentioned, I had 10 in my last group.
- 20:28We frequently did four and six for our dining reservations
- 20:32instead of 10, and we were able to get everything we wanted.
- 20:36And even then some of our windows were maybe 10 or 15
- 20:39minutes apart, but we all went and checked in together at the,
- 20:44at the Hostess stand and let them know like, hey, we're all
- 20:47together. And they were able to make that
- 20:49work. So that way we could sit near
- 20:51each other or at some places they were able to make it work.
- 20:54And we were all able to sit at one big table.
- 20:56It just really depended on what was available.
- 20:58And we were willing to wait a few extra minutes for them to
- 21:01to, you know, do what they could to help accommodate our larger
- 21:04party. So that was nice.
- 21:07If availability is not there when you book two different
- 21:12websites that you can look into, one is called Mouse Dining and
- 21:16the other is called Stakeout. And both of those are have some
- 21:21free and some paid that you are able to sign up for alerts for
- 21:26specific restaurants. So you can set an alert for a
- 21:28specific day, specific time, a number and what the restaurant
- 21:33is and they will notify you of those if something becomes
- 21:37available. So it kind of internally tracks
- 21:40the reservation system for you, which is a really nice thing to
- 21:44do. And a lot of the reservations
- 21:47that are really hard to get, things like Topolinos Terrace
- 21:52especially is one that we that I've used it before for.
- 21:58It's really nice because like week of a lot of those
- 22:01reservations will become available and it's really nice
- 22:05to not have to constantly monitor the reserve, the dining
- 22:10reservations while you're also like in the parks trying to
- 22:12enjoy yourself. So like I said, those those do
- 22:15allow several free alerts. You can also pay to have more
- 22:19depending on what your needs are.
- 22:20With that, I will just mention briefly if you're planning to do
- 22:24dining on the website, they make it fairly easy and
- 22:27straightforward. It's very similar to what I just
- 22:29explained on your app, but straight from the home screen of
- 22:33the Walt Disney World website. You want to make sure you're
- 22:35logged in. So then across the top you're
- 22:37going to go to the Things to Do tab and then you're going to
- 22:41click on the Make Reservations option under there.
- 22:47From there, you'll be able to again do the same thing.
- 22:49Click your day, your time, your party size, and the restaurant
- 22:53that you want and go from there. So that's kind of how making
- 22:57your dining reservations work. Again for Disneyland, same
- 23:02process. All of that is identical.
- 23:05Where you find things on the app is very similar.
- 23:07So all of that should work. If you're planning to do
- 23:11Disneyland again though, remember 6:00 AM local time.
- 23:16So 6:00 AM Pacific Time for Disneyland, 6:00 AM Eastern Time
- 23:21for Disney World. And I know I've got friends that
- 23:25are further W that like to visit Disney World, that always are,
- 23:30are not thrilled about having to get up in the middle of the
- 23:33night to make their dining reservations because it is 6:00
- 23:36AM Eastern Time for that. Another thing that you might
- 23:40book ahead of time are your Lightning Lanes.
- 23:43Now, we're not going to get super in depth into Lightning
- 23:47Lanes. I just did an episode like, I
- 23:50don't know, six or seven ago reviewing the Lightning Lane
- 23:53process at Disney World. That's episode 90, so not too
- 23:58far back in our archives. That is a great resource where I
- 24:02went through tutorials on how to book, what to book, showed you
- 24:06how to modify, clicked through all of the screens.
- 24:10So that is a really great resource if that is something
- 24:13that you're looking for. I am going to go over just
- 24:16briefly the process, but if you need more in depth, that is the
- 24:21episode to go to because I went as in depth as I possibly could
- 24:26on that episode. So that being said, if you are
- 24:30wanting to book your lightning lanes ahead of time, resort
- 24:33guests plus Swan Dolphin and Shades of Green guests are able
- 24:37to preselect your lightning lane rides seven days out from your
- 24:43check in day and you can book for the entire length of your
- 24:47stay up to 14 days. So this one is a little bit
- 24:51different than dining. Dining was 10, your Lightning
- 24:54lane up to 14 days. You are able to book for the
- 24:57entire length of your stay. You do have to be staying that
- 24:59long in order to book that long. Non resort guests can preselect
- 25:043 days out from your first park day and you can book for the
- 25:08amount of days that are eligible on your ticket that is linked to
- 25:13your account. So if you've got a four day park
- 25:16ticket, you can book for four days.
- 25:18If you've got a five day park ticket, you book for five days.
- 25:21You get the idea on the app when you become eligible.
- 25:25Now this is Disney World only. Let me emphasize that again,
- 25:31this is Disney World only when it comes to this Lightning Lane
- 25:37little spiel, OK, And everything that I already said to Disney
- 25:42World, Disney World on the app, when you become eligible, you're
- 25:47going to click that three line hamburger menu.
- 25:49It's like we like that menu a lot.
- 25:51And then you're going to click Lightning Lane passes.
- 25:54It's going to be like the top right box on that screen when
- 25:57you open that. From there, after you click
- 26:00that, you're going to select from their options.
- 26:03You have to do a little bit of research ahead of time about
- 26:05what the different options are and what falls in what category
- 26:08and what price point is what. Again, episode 90, go back and
- 26:12listen to that, but you're going to select then either multi
- 26:16pass, single pass, or premiere pass depending on what it is
- 26:19that you're looking for. From there you will select the
- 26:23date, the park, your travel party and then you will select
- 26:27your attractions if that applies.
- 26:29If your premier pass, you don't have to select your attractions,
- 26:32but if you are single pass or multi pass you will select your
- 26:34attractions from there. After that, you will select the
- 26:38times you want and then you will click continue to go through and
- 26:42pay and confirm your choices. Again, episode 90, I walk
- 26:47through step by step. I show you on a screen exactly
- 26:50where to go for those lightning lanes.
- 26:52So that is really your end all be all full resource for
- 26:56lightning lanes if you need it. Just a couple notes again about
- 27:00Lightning lanes. If you want to view your
- 27:02previously booked or previously purchased rides again, you can
- 27:06find those under the hamburger menu.
- 27:08You're going to Scroll down to the first section under the
- 27:11boxes and you're going to click the future plans.
- 27:15And then from there you can adjust the date at the top of
- 27:17there and you can click through your different days that you
- 27:19have available that you have booked.
- 27:22And if you're trying to view day of plans, two different places,
- 27:25you can find them. One, you can actually find them
- 27:27just on the home screen view of your My Disney Experience app.
- 27:31So when you open that app, it's going to, you're going to Scroll
- 27:34down just a little, but it's going to show you lightning
- 27:36lanes and dining reservations. Any notes that you've put in for
- 27:39your planning aspect, it's going to show you there.
- 27:43The other place that you can find it is if you go back to
- 27:47that hamburger menu, Scroll down just below.
- 27:50Just actually just above the future plan aspect will be the
- 27:54today's plan. So that will give you the same
- 27:58rundown where it'll show you in a list of you kind of what you
- 28:01have planned, what reservations you've made, whether it be
- 28:04rides, dining, things like that. So that in a nutshell is kind of
- 28:09your walkthrough with lightning lanes again, extensively went
- 28:12through this just a few episodes ago.
- 28:14Now Disneyland lightning lanes are 100% different.
- 28:20They are still functioning under the previous system, which we
- 28:23knew as genie plus. The name is the same.
- 28:26They still consider them lightning lane multi pass,
- 28:28lightning lane single pass, but it functions as the previous
- 28:32system. There is no pre booking.
- 28:34It is just day of you book when you get into the park, but where
- 28:38you to find things is very similar on the app.
- 28:42We also did information about that.
- 28:44I did not update a ton of that in the most recent Lightning
- 28:47Lane episode we did because nothing has really changed out
- 28:50there since we talked about it last.
- 28:52But episode 63 in our archives is Lightning Lanes and and you
- 28:58want to folk if you want to focus on the Disneyland version,
- 29:02if you're looking for Disney World, again, Episode 90 is your
- 29:04most up to date. But Episode 63 will give you
- 29:07Disneyland and we'll talk through exactly how to book,
- 29:09what to book and what order and all that good stuff.
- 29:12OK, so that is kind of your dining and lightning Lanes
- 29:17again, in a nutshell. Not going into super detail
- 29:20because we have done that before.
- 29:22A couple more things that you can talk about before your trip
- 29:27and the last kind of category before we talk about what to do
- 29:30during your trip, I mean that is online check in.
- 29:33So Disney gives you the option to check into your resort room
- 29:39on your app before your trip. You can make basic room requests
- 29:43and select if you will arrive before or after the 3:00 PM
- 29:48check in time. This option is a really, really
- 29:52good option. If you do not have very specific
- 29:56needs and you are arriving close to check in time, I would
- 30:00definitely go ahead and do that because that will allow you to
- 30:03skip the front desk and they will just text you updates about
- 30:06your room and the the status of whether it's ready or not.
- 30:11Now if you are someone who has specific room needs, adjoining
- 30:16rooms, handicap rooms, certain locations, top floor, bottom
- 30:21floor, those types of things, or you will be arriving very early
- 30:27in the day prior to check in time, I highly suggest checking
- 30:31in at the front desk when you get there.
- 30:34The lines usually look long, but they usually move fairly
- 30:38quickly. So I do not suggest doing online
- 30:41check in. If you are someone that has
- 30:42specific room needs or will be arriving super early in the day.
- 30:46Disney is not going to. It's going to be easier for
- 30:49Disney to accommodate your needs if you are someone that goes to
- 30:54the front desk rather than just relying on the text updates from
- 30:58the My Disney Experience app. And that's my experience that
- 31:02I've had. And as far as that goes, it it,
- 31:05it's hit or miss whether or not Disney has rooms available
- 31:08early. It's hit or miss whether or not
- 31:11they can accommodate what you are requesting in your room
- 31:14request. But that is kind of the way that
- 31:17that works. Now at Disneyland, same process,
- 31:20you do have the ability to check in early if you're staying at a
- 31:23Disneyland resort. Remember there are very few of
- 31:26those. They are all in that deluxe
- 31:27category. So if you are staying at one of
- 31:30the three Disneyland resorts, you do have the ability to check
- 31:34in early on your app before your trip.
- 31:37Same process. You can make basic room
- 31:39requests, things like that as well.
- 31:42And again, if you are someone that has more extensive
- 31:44requests, you have questions, you have, you're planning to
- 31:47arrive super early, I would just go to the front desk and check
- 31:50in there because it's more likely that they're going to be
- 31:54able to accommodate you if you go and chat with them first.
- 31:57So that kind of wraps up the what you need to do about
- 32:01everything before your trip when it comes to Disney tech and the
- 32:05app. But let's talk about what you
- 32:07can do with your app during your trip.
- 32:10So there are lots of functions that you can use the My Disney
- 32:14Experience and the Disneyland app for during your trip.
- 32:17The majority of what we are going to talk about now is going
- 32:21to be the same for Disney World and Disneyland.
- 32:25So a lot of the differences are pre trip right before you go to
- 32:29the park, setting up your account, getting everything
- 32:31linked and connected and all of that.
- 32:34But kind of once you do all of that and once you actually get
- 32:36to the parks, a lot of this is really, really similar.
- 32:40So that is what we are going to look at next.
- 32:44The first thing that we are going to talk about is setting
- 32:46up your Magic mobile account on your Disney app.
- 32:50So the term magic mobile refers to the electronic version of
- 32:55your park ticket. So in your app, you will be able
- 32:58to view your tick your park ticket under the My tickets and
- 33:02passes. But that is not an option for
- 33:05you to be able to scan into the Disney park for Disney World.
- 33:09Disneyland, it's a little bit easier for them to do because
- 33:12it's kind of preloaded that way because they're used to that.
- 33:15But Disney World has tap styles. You can't just tap that QR code
- 33:19looking banned on those tap styles.
- 33:22So in order to use your park ticket on your phone at the tap
- 33:27styles, you have to set up this Magic mobile feature.
- 33:31So to locate this in your app, you're going to click that
- 33:34hamburger menu. I told you I love that hamburger
- 33:37menu. You are going to Scroll down
- 33:39under the profile option and you are going to click set up magic
- 33:43mobile entry. What that is going to do is then
- 33:47bring up all of the passes that you have on your account.
- 33:51You're going to select the ones you want to save and then you're
- 33:54going to follow the directions because you get to like
- 33:56personalize it and pick up a cute little card design that you
- 34:00want. And then from there, once you've
- 34:03done all of that, it will give you the option to save it to
- 34:06your mobile wallet. So I have an iPhone.
- 34:09It gives me the option right on the screen to add to Apple
- 34:11Wallet. Again, you have a lot of options
- 34:15for entry to the park. You can use your phone, you can
- 34:17use a magic band. You can get a key card from
- 34:20either Guest Relations or the front desk of your Disney
- 34:23resort. All of those options are good
- 34:26options to use, but if you want to use your phone, that is what
- 34:29you have to do in order to save it to your mobile wallet.
- 34:31So it's one extra step that you have to do in between loading it
- 34:35on your phone and saving it to that mobile wallet to be able to
- 34:38use. Once you've done that Magic
- 34:40Mobile, it lives on your phone in that in your Apple wallet or
- 34:44your digital wallet to your mobile wallet.
- 34:47And you can use that to tap into the front of the park.
- 34:50You can use that to tap in for Lightning lanes, all those types
- 34:54of things. So that is the Magic Mobile.
- 34:56It's pretty straightforward. If you're especially if you're
- 34:58familiar with using a mobile wallet, it's really, really very
- 35:02simple to set up. Something else that you can
- 35:04utilize your Disney apps for is resort room entrance.
- 35:08So this is a really nice feature that has been introduced in the
- 35:11last several years on the Disney apps.
- 35:15If you are staying on Disney property.
- 35:17So that's any Disney resort at Walt Disney World and one of
- 35:21three at Disneyland. Your phone can function as your
- 35:25resort room entrance. So because you have the ability
- 35:27to do that magic mobile, you don't ever need a key card.
- 35:32You can use your phone for everything.
- 35:34So after you have checked in, this option will auto populate
- 35:39on the home screen of your My Disney Experience app.
- 35:42So it will say right underneath like the welcome screen, it will
- 35:48say like unlock room. And you'll be able to click into
- 35:51that and you'll click that unlock room option when you're
- 35:55standing at your door. And then you're going to move
- 35:57your phone close to the little Mickey head card scanner on your
- 36:01door. And just like magic, it will
- 36:04open and unlock your door for you.
- 36:07This is really nice if you don't have magic bands and you don't
- 36:12necessarily have hands to be able to, you know, if you're
- 36:14carrying stuff because your strollers fold it up or
- 36:16whatever. This is really nice to have as a
- 36:18backup option. I used it a couple times on our
- 36:21last trip. I did use this feature which was
- 36:23nice because then I could unlock it from my phone and tell my
- 36:25oldest, hey, when you hear it click open the open the door for
- 36:28us and hold it so we can all get into the room.
- 36:31So again, that will auto populate on your home screen of
- 36:34your app if you're staying on Disney property.
- 36:37Another option for during your trip that you can use your app
- 36:41for is a very popular one and that is Mobile Order.
- 36:44This is such a nice feature to use.
- 36:48I will say this tends to be utilized way more at Disney
- 36:51World than at Disneyland, but they do still have this option
- 36:55at Disneyland. There are just not as many
- 36:57people that tend to use it out there.
- 37:00Don't know why, it's just probably habit of a lot of the
- 37:02locals that they just don't use it, they just go and stand in
- 37:05line instead. But Mobile Order gives you the
- 37:08ability to order your food ahead of time on your My Disney
- 37:12Experience app or your Disneyland app.
- 37:14This applies to many quick service restaurants and
- 37:17locations across all of Disney property, including parks and
- 37:20resorts. But it's not everyone.
- 37:22So you do want to take a quick look at if you've got a list of
- 37:26places you want to go, just take a quick look to see whether or
- 37:29not they do mobile order so you can give yourself enough time.
- 37:32If you have to wait in line, you want to make sure you get there
- 37:34a little bit earlier so you don't get hangry while you're
- 37:37waiting in line for your food. In order to do the mobile order,
- 37:42you're going to press the plus sign at the bottom of your
- 37:44screen and you're going to select the order food option.
- 37:47From there, you'll select your restaurant and then you will go
- 37:50through the menu options and place your order by adding
- 37:53different things to your cart and then checking out at the
- 37:56end. Now after that, it will say like
- 38:00it will prompt you to like let the system know when you've
- 38:03arrived at the restaurant. So you can do this from anywhere
- 38:06in the parks and then make your way over to that restaurant.
- 38:10It'll give you a return time window that you'll be able to
- 38:12come back during and then when you arrive there or a minute or
- 38:16two before, because usually it takes them a few minutes to get
- 38:19it ready. I will tend to do it when I'm a
- 38:21few maybe 3 or 4 minutes from walking in.
- 38:25You can click the I'm here, prepare my order option on the
- 38:28app and then it will let you know when your food is ready by
- 38:31sending you a push notification and your screen, if you leave
- 38:34your screen just open on that page, it will change and then it
- 38:38will let you know which window to pick up your food from as
- 38:42well. So that is a really, really nice
- 38:45option, especially if you've got kiddos and those kiddos cannot
- 38:49wait in another line and they're hungry.
- 38:52If you've got multiple adults, you can divide and conquer.
- 38:54You guys can find a table, sit down, wait for your food, one of
- 38:58you can go up and grab your food, one of you can grab the
- 39:00napkins and utensils and condiments and all that kind of
- 39:03stuff. You guys know when it comes to
- 39:04eating out at like fast food, quick service places, kind of
- 39:08how that works Now for Disneyland, everything that I
- 39:11just talked about is all the same.
- 39:12So Mobile Order works the same. It functions the same again.
- 39:15It's utilized a little bit less at Disneyland than at Disney
- 39:18World, but it is still out there.
- 39:20The Magic Mobile and Resort entrance all function the same
- 39:24at Disneyland. Another way that you can save
- 39:29some time and not stand in line is using the merchandise mobile
- 39:34checkout. This is one of the newest
- 39:36features on the Disney app. It is fairly new in the last,
- 39:41I'd say two to three years. And what this does is it gives
- 39:45you the ability kind of like the scan and go option at Sam's
- 39:50Club, if you're familiar with that, where you can use your app
- 39:54to check out in some of the merchandise stores.
- 39:58So what you'll do is you're going to again click the plus
- 40:01button at the bottom of your screen and you're going to
- 40:03select the merchandise mobile checkout.
- 40:06From there you're going to select your location, you'll
- 40:08scan your items, it'll add them to your cart, and then you will
- 40:12pay in the app and you will show the cast member your QR code
- 40:16that it will populate at the mobile checkout exit.
- 40:19So you still have to touch base with the cast member before you
- 40:23walk out so they can just confirm what you've got there.
- 40:27If you're looking for what locations do this, it's not
- 40:29every location across Disney property.
- 40:32It is fairly limited right now, but they do seem to be expanding
- 40:35it. I think it's just, you know,
- 40:37it's a lot of it is dependent on the flow of the store.
- 40:40Do they have the ability to have kind of that mobile check out
- 40:44counter at the exit, those types of things?
- 40:47If you are at Magic Kingdom and Disney World, the Emporium *
- 40:51Traders and Tomorrowland Launch Depot all have this merchandise
- 40:55mobile checkout option. If you are at Epcot, Creations
- 41:00and Treasures of Zandar all have that option.
- 41:04At Hollywood Studios, only Mickey's of Hollywood has that
- 41:07option and at Animal Kingdom, the Discovery Trading Company
- 41:11and Island Mercantile both have that option.
- 41:13And if you're at Disney, Springs World of Disney has that, which
- 41:16that is a huge one because that story, if you guys have ever
- 41:18been in there is massive and the lines can get really, really
- 41:22long. So that's a really good one to
- 41:24use it at as well. At Disneyland, the same process
- 41:29that I just talked about is what you do.
- 41:30So scan your items, add them to your cart, check out and then
- 41:33show your QR code. But just two options at
- 41:37Disneyland. Oh, no, sorry.
- 41:39Three options at Disneyland. Elias and Co, the Emporium and
- 41:43World of Disney at Disneyland as well.
- 41:45So all of those locations are the ones that currently offer
- 41:49the merchandise mobile check out on your app.
- 41:52Again, not every option or not every, not every merchandise
- 41:56store has that option yet. Hopefully that's something that
- 42:00Disney continues to expand on because I do think it is a
- 42:03really nice option, especially when you are someone who has
- 42:08been waiting in lines all day with your little kiddos and they
- 42:11need a break. Something else that you might
- 42:14utilize your My Disney Experience app or Disneyland app
- 42:18for is modifying Lightning Lanes.
- 42:20So we talked a little bit about Lightning Lanes earlier.
- 42:23Again, all of this I went through extensively in those two
- 42:26other episodes that I referenced earlier.
- 42:29But this is what you will do if the app does not give you a time
- 42:33that you want for a Lightning Lane or if you need to change
- 42:36something due to running late or you know, things happen in the
- 42:40parks, right? So if you don't like the time
- 42:42that you have, you can modify those lightning lanes and you do
- 42:46that on your app. So in order to do this, you need
- 42:50to locate your my day page, which is under the hamburger
- 42:54menu. Click on the My Day and then
- 42:57you're going to click on the attraction time that you need to
- 42:59modify. And then you're.
- 43:01So you'll click into that attraction and then you'll click
- 43:03Modify Time option. The app will give you other
- 43:06times available to modify it to if there are other times
- 43:11available. If no times populate, then
- 43:13nothing else is currently available for that particular
- 43:17attraction. You can also modify attractions
- 43:21for other attractions. Let's say you got a lightning
- 43:25lane for Haunted Mansion, but you got over to Haunted Mansion
- 43:28and it was a walk on. Well, you may not want to use
- 43:31your remote lightning lane. You may want to modify it for
- 43:33another ride. That's also an option under the
- 43:35modify screen as well. So either way, you can do that.
- 43:39If no times pop up for a ride, that means that it is quote UN
- 43:42quote sold out for the time being.
- 43:44Now times do become available throughout the day for most
- 43:49attractions, not all some of the most popular big E ticket
- 43:53attractions, they do not become available.
- 43:56But if it's like a midline and you're not seeing anything pop
- 44:00up, refresh that page periodically kind of as you're
- 44:04maybe as you're sitting and eating lunch or as you're
- 44:08waiting in line. If you can kind of you know from
- 44:10time to time refresh by pulling down that that screen, you may
- 44:14find something pop up again. The best course of action is to
- 44:17pull down to refresh the modify screen and then click the time
- 44:20that you want when it pops up. After you have selected your
- 44:23time, be sure to confirm it. There's one extra confirmation
- 44:26page you have to click at the bottom of the page to fully
- 44:30click out of and confirm that time.
- 44:33So don't just click the time and think you're good.
- 44:35Click the time, hit confirm and that it then it will kick you to
- 44:38another page that says like you have selected and it'll give you
- 44:41the time and the ride from there.
- 44:44Now Disneyland is not the same again, their lightning lanes are
- 44:48not the same. So modifying their lightning
- 44:50lanes are not the same. If you need Disneyland help with
- 44:54lightning lanes, you need to go back to that episode I talked
- 44:56about earlier, which is episode 63 of Mom Street where we talked
- 45:01about Disneyland and listen to what we had to say over there
- 45:06about modifying because their system is the old Genie Plus
- 45:09system. It functions completely
- 45:11separately. Again, not getting into it now,
- 45:13but just keep that in mind. So their system does not
- 45:16function like our system does over here.
- 45:19I say our because I'm used to going to Disney World as an
- 45:22annual pass holder over there, but Disneyland, Disney World
- 45:25completely separate, so don't let that confuse you.
- 45:28A couple more things to talk about on your trip that you may
- 45:32use the app for is the search function.
- 45:35This is a function that exists on both versions of the app.
- 45:40It is right on the home screen at the bottom.
- 45:42They have a little magnifying glass and you can search for
- 45:45things using that search function.
- 45:47You can search for attraction shows, characters dying,
- 45:51bathrooms, water fountains, all sorts of stuff on there that you
- 45:55can search for. So you just click that little
- 45:57magnifying glass, type it in and then you can go from there.
- 46:00It's not a it's not a super comprehensive search.
- 46:05It won't all it's not very intuitive, let me put it that
- 46:08way. It won't always guess what
- 46:11you're looking for, but if you know specifics, then it's a
- 46:15really good function to use. So this search feature will
- 46:18allow you then to click whatever it is you're searching for.
- 46:21You can then view details about it.
- 46:23So if you're looking for a particular ride, you can see the
- 46:26wait time. You can click.
- 46:28There's a find on map option which is really helpful so you
- 46:31can see where it is on the map. And the other option that it
- 46:33will give you that's really helpful is the Get directions
- 46:36option. So let's talk about how we get
- 46:40directions on the app. There are two ways that you can
- 46:43get walking directions on the app.
- 46:46The one is using the search feature just mentioned.
- 46:49So let's say you're standing outside of Space Mountain.
- 46:52You want to know the best way to get to Pirates of the Caribbean.
- 46:55It's all the way across the park.
- 46:57You want to make sure you know the most efficient way to get
- 46:59there. I'm standing at Space Mountain.
- 47:01I'm going to search using the search function Pirates of the
- 47:04Caribbean. I'm going to click on that
- 47:06option on my app. When it pops up, I'm going to go
- 47:09to get directions, and then I'm going to to make sure that
- 47:13everything looks right. It'll look just like a typical
- 47:15map, like an Apple map or a Google Map where it'll give you
- 47:18starting point, ending point. And then you're going to click
- 47:21go essentially, and it will show you with a little blue line the
- 47:25way that you can navigate through the park.
- 47:26That's one way to get directions.
- 47:29The other way is using the map feature on your app.
- 47:32So along the bottom, one of the other buttons that we haven't
- 47:36talked about yet is the map button.
- 47:39And that map will show you wait times.
- 47:41It'll show you all sorts of other things.
- 47:44We're not going to get into total detail about that map
- 47:46option, but it looks like a little pin, right?
- 47:49It looks like a little kind of pointy Oval that you will find.
- 47:53And when you click on that, it's going to auto default to Magic
- 47:56Kingdom. You may need to scroll around
- 47:58and use some filters to figure out where you are and find
- 48:00yourself on the map. But the way to find directions
- 48:04from the map is to click on something from the map.
- 48:08So again, you're standing at Space Mountain, you want to get
- 48:12to Pirates of the Caribbean. You're going to click that map.
- 48:14You're going to zoom out a tiny bit.
- 48:16You're going to find the little white bubble that is Pirates of
- 48:19the Caribbean. You're going to click on the
- 48:21bubble to and then the little name will pop up and you click
- 48:24on the name and it'll bring up your full page of information,
- 48:27same page that you would have found if you would search.
- 48:31So they both end in the same place.
- 48:33From there, you click get directions, make sure everything
- 48:35looks right, and then you hit go and it will tell you where to
- 48:38go. This is a great way to find the
- 48:41shortest route from where you are to whatever attraction or
- 48:44place it is that you're trying to get to.
- 48:46I've even used this when I'm getting to new places and I want
- 48:49to see the fastest way to go. So I was trying to walk one day
- 48:53from the Yacht Club to International Gateway over at
- 48:59Epcot and I wasn't sure which door to go out of because I've
- 49:02never been over to Yacht Club. It was my first time exploring
- 49:05over there. I used it for that just to see
- 49:07oh, that's where it goes. OK, cool now I know where I'm
- 49:10going, right. This will also show you this
- 49:13feature for the get directions. We'll show you transportation
- 49:16options that you have. So if you are trying to get from
- 49:21Hollywood Studios to Epcot and let's say you're standing at
- 49:26Guest services at International Gateway of Epcot and you're
- 49:30trying to get to the front of Hollywood Studios, you can use
- 49:34either the search function or the map function.
- 49:35You can type in what you're trying to get to Hollywood
- 49:38Studios, select that, click Get Directions, then right
- 49:42underneath where it's going to list your, your starting
- 49:45location and your ending location right underneath there.
- 49:49It's going to give you transportation options.
- 49:50It's going to show you, do you want to know how to walk there?
- 49:54Do you want to know how to take the boat there?
- 49:56Or do you want to know how to take the sky liner there?
- 49:58And you can click those different options to help you
- 50:01navigate to where you're going. It'll even also give you an
- 50:04approximate travel time for that as well.
- 50:08So that can be really helpful if you're not sure if you have
- 50:12other transportation options to get where you're trying to go.
- 50:16So that is another thing that is really helpful because it is an
- 50:20option on that direction page. Now, if you're using the
- 50:24Disneyland app, that all functions exactly the same other
- 50:27than the fact that Disneyland you're, you're going to be
- 50:30walking, right? They're not going to show you
- 50:32boats and buses and all that kind of stuff.
- 50:34Because at Disneyland you can walk from one side to the other
- 50:37very, very easily. So, but it will show you the
- 50:39most direct paths to get there. And you still can use the search
- 50:42function and the map function to be able to find those
- 50:45directions. Something else that you can do.
- 50:48And we're winding down. We've got just two more things
- 50:50to talk about for your during your trip app use one of them is
- 50:57dining reservation check in. So if you are someone who made
- 51:01dining reservations before your trip, like we talked about just
- 51:05a little bit ago, when the time for your dining reservation gets
- 51:08close on your app, you will be prompted to check in online for
- 51:13that upcoming dining reservation.
- 51:15It will send you a push notification that you'll be able
- 51:18to click into and then the process from there is very
- 51:21straightforward and very easily. You will basically check in by
- 51:25confirming your party size. You will confirm any
- 51:28accessibility or high chair needs and you will confirm any
- 51:32allergy concerns. A lot of that you have already
- 51:35put in when you made your reservation, but this is just
- 51:38like a a double check and a confirmation that all your
- 51:40information has stayed the same and no party sizes have changed
- 51:44or things like that. After that, after you've checked
- 51:47and you will receive the text that will say something along
- 51:49the lines of like, thank you for checking in, Please wait while
- 51:52your table is being prepared. And then typically at most
- 51:55places, then a cast member will come out into the lobby area,
- 52:00wherever that may be, whether it's indoor, outdoor for the
- 52:03location you're checking in for, and we'll call your party's name
- 52:06when your table is ready. So a very, very easy process to
- 52:10do that check in for your dining reservation that will start to
- 52:14prompt you about 15 minutes before your dining time.
- 52:20And we'll let you check in once you are located close enough to
- 52:26your location that you're going to be dining in.
- 52:30So if you're trying to dine at Epcot and you're in Magic
- 52:33Kingdom, it's not going to let you check in because you're too
- 52:35far away. So you do have to be closely
- 52:37located and it does have to be within.
- 52:39It's about a 1520 minute window that you will be able to to do
- 52:44that early check in for the last thing that I do just want to
- 52:47mention that you are able to utilize your your Disney app for
- 52:52and that is memory maker and photo pass.
- 52:54So this is something we did an episode on a few back.
- 52:57If you want more information about what is photo pass and
- 52:59memory maker. But essentially this gives you
- 53:01access to your park photos on your app.
- 53:05And this is through your My Disney experience or your
- 53:07Disneyland app. So to find the photos, you will
- 53:10click on that hamburger menu menu again, the three lines in
- 53:13your bottom corner, and then you will Scroll down to the option
- 53:16that says Photo Gallery. Your photo gallery will just be
- 53:21all of the photos that you have taken on your trip, whether it's
- 53:24ride photos or photos that are photo Pass cast members have
- 53:29taken, they will all be listed there.
- 53:31If you have not purchased your photos for your trip, you will
- 53:39see the Photo Pass watermark across it.
- 53:42If you have not activated your Photo Pass Memory Maker yet, you
- 53:48will still see those watermarks across it.
- 53:52But if you have activated it and it's fully functioning, then
- 53:54you'll be able to download your photos and all that kind of
- 53:56stuff. You can also access really fun
- 54:00Photo Pass lenses. Those are like think like
- 54:03Snapchat filters, but all Disney themed, right?
- 54:06And your memory maker options, which are like different things
- 54:10you can order based on your photos in that same menu area.
- 54:14So that's all going to be kind of right in line on that under
- 54:17that hamburger menu right in that photo section for you.
- 54:21And just a quick note about tech and tips for Photo Pass.
- 54:27I highly suggest if you have a lot of photos that you wait
- 54:32until you get home to download those photos on a computer.
- 54:37Otherwise you are going to be clicking one at a time.
- 54:41Click the picture, hit download, select the size, weight, Hit the
- 54:46picture, hit download, select the size.
- 54:49Wait, it takes forever. It's fine if you just want a few
- 54:53right that you're pulling off of your app in the meantime,
- 54:57because it's fun to have them downloaded.
- 54:59You can share them with friends and family or post them or
- 55:02whatever. You know, we live in that age
- 55:04of, of sharing things digitally. But if you are planning to
- 55:08download all of your photos, I highly suggest you wait and you
- 55:13do it on the Disney Photo Pass website.
- 55:15Now do keep in mind that the Disney Photo Pass website is
- 55:19different than the Disney World website or the Disneyland
- 55:23website. Photo Pass has their own
- 55:24separate website, so you may have to do like a quick Google
- 55:28search and I would just put in Disney Photo Pass and it should
- 55:32take you to that location. Again, same e-mail login that
- 55:36you've used everything should pull up for you there.
- 55:40You will also be able to see your friends and family photos
- 55:42as well, as long as they're they don't have like privacy settings
- 55:46on because you do have the ability to decide whether or not
- 55:48you want to share photos with your friends and family list,
- 55:51which is a nice feature. So if they have stuff privated,
- 55:54you won't be able to see it or like if you accidentally have
- 55:57stuff privated, they won't be able to see yours if you want
- 55:59them to, you know, so you'll have to look at your settings
- 56:02for that. But I really, really suggest
- 56:04waiting because it is so much faster because you'll be able to
- 56:08like do a select all option and it'll download it into a zip
- 56:11file for you. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
- 56:14So that is my suggestion with photo pass.
- 56:17I will say I have been guilty of going through one at a time to
- 56:20download a couple things, but it's usually not not, you know,
- 56:2450 or 100 photos when it comes to that.
- 56:27And Disneyland, if you're looking for photos and memory
- 56:29maker and photo pass out there, it all functions the same.
- 56:33So I think that is kind of a basic rundown of all of the tech
- 56:39type things that you may need on your Disney trip.
- 56:44There are a ton of other features of these apps that I
- 56:47didn't go over today because I just wanted to give you kind of
- 56:51that overview and rundown and highlight of the different
- 56:55things that I think you might utilize on your trip.
- 56:59If you are someone that is trying to find something and
- 57:02you're like, I cannot find this on my Disney app anywhere, send
- 57:05me a quick message. I'm happy to walk you through
- 57:08it. I have a lot of experience using
- 57:10this app, especially for Lightning Lanes because I have
- 57:13such a history of helping friends and helping our
- 57:17community and helping pocket Fam with Lightning Lanes.
- 57:20So I am happy to help you walk through anything that you have
