- 1:08Speaker 1: Definitely. I just realized I'm like exhaling into my mic,
- 1:11Speaker 1: so I gotta like change that position a bit.

- 1:17Speaker 2: are all doing good.
- 1:18Speaker 1: We've got some bombs we're dropping on you today.
- 1:21Speaker 2: We lots of times have big bombs.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yes, we apparently do. And we're not just like chatty
- 1:26Speaker 1: chatty this morning, because we are recording in a morning
- 1:29Speaker 1: this time, not evening.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Look at us.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Go we legit have some shit we gotta drop for
- 1:34Speaker 1: you guys.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Okay, I want to drop the first one.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Let's do it. Let's hear it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Okay, ready, Yes, so for Halloween, because I should actually
- 1:41Speaker 2: be letting you announce it since you're like halloeen pumped.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Oh what we're doing?
- 1:45Speaker 1: We're good.
- 1:45Speaker 2: We're doing a week of Halloween, Halloween.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Week, Hello week.
- 1:50Speaker 2: If you literally from October twenty fifth to thirty first,
- 1:54Speaker 2: there will be we'll be dropping a podcast of sorts
- 1:57Speaker 2: every single.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Day, every single day. You guys are gonna get something
- 2:01Speaker 1: from us. It's not going to be like an episode
- 2:04Speaker 1: that we always drop.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be like just little scary tales or
- 2:08Speaker 2: something one day or whatever.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It could be half an hour, it could be full hours.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We'll see. But you'll get something every day for the
- 2:15Speaker 1: entire week of Halloween, and of course the days leading
- 2:20Speaker 1: up to Halloween, we're going to be doing some a
- 2:22Speaker 1: little bit more Halloween appropriate themed podcast episodes. So that's cool.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I know, I think I have one plan for sure,
- 2:29Speaker 2: but I have to kind of research some more spooky tales, some.
- 2:33Speaker 1: More spooky tales. Well today we got a good spooky tale,
- 2:36Speaker 1: that's for sure.
- 2:38Speaker 2: But we're dropping one other thing, we are.
- 2:40Speaker 1: You go ahead, I'm blanking on what was it again?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, are you serious?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Oh right, No, I got it.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I got it. Sorry, pad, maybe you aren't awake.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We officially have our Patreon live. You guys have been
- 2:55Speaker 1: bugging us like about Patreon and merch and lots of
- 2:58Speaker 1: that stuff. Merch is still coming come down the pipe.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It's probably gonna be next month. But our Patreon is
- 3:04Speaker 1: live where you can go sign up, you can help
- 3:07Speaker 1: support us, and you can get all sorts of kind
- 3:10Speaker 1: of benefits.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Little bonuses.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. The one bonus that isn't in effect yet
- 3:16Speaker 1: is ad free episodes because currently all our episodes are
- 3:19Speaker 1: ad free, but we will be implementing ads by the
- 3:22Speaker 1: end of this month, I think around there, so that
- 3:25Speaker 1: bonus will be kicking in very soon. And of course
- 3:28Speaker 1: there's another bonus like behind the scenes content which is
- 3:31Speaker 1: going to be epic and extra episodes. And this month
- 3:38Speaker 1: everyone's been bugging us a lot for this one and
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'm totally.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Hyped to do it good.
- 3:42Speaker 1: We are doing the first ever extra episode on over
- 3:45Speaker 1: on Patreon only. It's going to be Drunk Wicket and Grim.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah you have to pay extra for that ship.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. Speaking of Drunk, Wicked and Grim, I'm doing
- 3:55Speaker 1: Sober October this month with the exception of recording Drunk
- 3:58Speaker 1: Wicket and Grim one exception.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah, because you had that plan.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I did have that plan for a while, and then
- 4:04Speaker 1: about I don't know, a week and a half two
- 4:06Speaker 1: weeks ago, I was like, I should just do sober October.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Is sober October a thing?
- 4:10Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Okay, is that like a month we're actually because I've
- 4:13Speaker 2: heard it more so for January, not October.
- 4:15Speaker 1: No, well, sober October because it rhymes. Oh okay, yes,
- 4:18Speaker 1: sober October is a thing.
- 4:20Speaker 2: People I think do it for January because they like
- 4:22Speaker 2: drank a little bit too much over the holidays or
- 4:24Speaker 2: something exactly.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But yeah, I know this is a thing. I do know.
- 4:28Speaker 1: You what's his name that Joe Rogan does sober October
- 4:30Speaker 1: because he's like a big weed fanatic.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Oh okay, Oh, he does it for alkohol and weed
- 4:35Speaker 2: or just alcohol.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I think weed is his bigger vice. So he cuts
- 4:40Speaker 1: up weed, but I'm sure he cuts up boos too,
- 4:42Speaker 1: But it's just sobriety and in general, because we definitely
- 4:45Speaker 1: like to indulge. I think we sound like we drink
- 4:47Speaker 1: a lot more than we do.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Like right now, I'm just drinking tea. I Okay.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I actually I think you drink a little bit more
- 4:54Speaker 2: than me. I do, but I do lots of times.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I'll have it like a beverage in the evening or whatever,
- 4:58Speaker 2: but definitely not every evening.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I probably have a drink every evening, get home from work,
- 5:02Speaker 1: crack a beer, but that beer will last me the
- 5:04Speaker 1: rest of the night. And then of course recording a podcast,
- 5:07Speaker 1: got a crack a beer.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Well, yeah, so she like, I don't know, it's just
- 5:10Speaker 2: because it's our chill time. We don't need a lot
- 5:12Speaker 2: of chill time. So especially when the other person's presenting,
- 5:14Speaker 2: then the person at me today listening, I'm like, I'm
- 5:18Speaker 2: going to crack a drink and just enjoy this.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's that's generally how it works. But we
- 5:21Speaker 1: do not condone alcoholism or substance abuse. So that's why
- 5:26Speaker 1: I am doing sober October this month for you. Ben
- 5:29Speaker 1: feel good about it. Although I wanted to drink the
- 5:32Speaker 1: other day and I couldn't.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there's been a few times where you're like, oh,
- 5:34Speaker 2: are we were at a restaurant and they had a
- 5:36Speaker 2: special and you're like, I could go for that, but nope.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Doesn't mean I can't have a drink still with the podcast,
- 5:42Speaker 1: just not alcohol.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I have coffee today, so that's.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Great, and maybe next time it'll be delicious chocolate milk
- 5:48Speaker 1: something to help me relac U. Yeah, but those are
- 5:51Speaker 1: the bombs, you guys. So head over to our Patreon.
- 5:53Speaker 1: We will put a link down in the below the
- 5:55Speaker 1: description of this podcast, so you can go check it
- 5:57Speaker 1: out if you want and sign up, and we'd appreciate
- 5:59Speaker 1: your support for now though, after that, we are going
- 6:02Speaker 1: to dive into today's case. Yes, are you ready?
- 6:04Speaker 2: There's some excitement for today's case. I'm into it.
- 6:07Speaker 1: This is a crazy one crazy and.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I actually don't know anything about it.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I know nothing about it.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I don't care anything. Well, okay, maybe i've heard it.
- 6:18Speaker 2: But the name of nothing rings a bell.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Do you even know who slender Man is?
- 6:24Speaker 2: Like? I don't? Which is I know bad? Really don't
- 6:27Speaker 2: judge me?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Okay, Well, then I wrote I wrote this podcast pretty
- 6:31Speaker 1: good because I don't explain who slender Man is until
- 6:33Speaker 1: much later on. So for those who do know slender
- 6:37Speaker 1: Man in this case, buckle up because we're going to
- 6:40Speaker 1: go on that crazy ride. And for you, Nicole, you're
- 6:42Speaker 1: definitely gonna want to buckle up a little extra. Okay,
- 6:48Speaker 1: so this is the slender Man stabbing of twenty fourteen. Now,
- 6:52Speaker 1: I did find this little bit of a quote of
- 6:55Speaker 1: a description of slender Man, and I'm going to start
- 6:57Speaker 1: us off with this here. Okay, So slender Man is
- 7:00Speaker 1: scary not because of what you know about him, but
- 7:03Speaker 1: because of what you don't know.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Oh okay, Okay.
- 7:09Speaker 1: With that being said, let's get into this. So the
- 7:12Speaker 1: story takes place. I just realized I did not look
- 7:15Speaker 1: up how to pronounce the name of this I've been
- 7:17Speaker 1: writing it. I'm like, I got her to look up
- 7:19Speaker 1: how to pronounce this. I never did look it up.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Give me one second. I'm gonna pause this and I'm
- 7:22Speaker 1: gonna YouTube it so I can actually pronounce it.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Work.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Okay, I got it, you got it. It takes place
- 7:29Speaker 1: in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I was pretty sure that's how you say it, but
- 7:33Speaker 1: I just want to.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Double check right on. I like that, good for.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You trying to try to try.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, this is actually an example that we actually try.
- 7:42Speaker 1: We do. We try, and we try, and sometimes a
- 7:45Speaker 1: lot of the times we fail. But yeah, yeah, okay,
- 7:49Speaker 1: So it takes place in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and it's described
- 7:52Speaker 1: as a politic a politically conservative, and fairly bleak place
- 7:57Speaker 1: by a lot of people. Okay, despite spot on a
- 8:00Speaker 1: few quote unquote best places to live lists. So the
- 8:05Speaker 1: downtown is marked by endless passing freight trains and a
- 8:09Speaker 1: biker bar or two. There isn't like a lot really
- 8:12Speaker 1: in the town. It seems like, especially for kids, there's
- 8:15Speaker 1: not really a lot for them to do unless they
- 8:17Speaker 1: like play sports and go outside, and a lot of
- 8:19Speaker 1: them do.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So is it a relatively small town?
- 8:23Speaker 1: I think so. I didn't look at the population. We
- 8:25Speaker 1: could take another break and I could look it up
- 8:26Speaker 1: for that's so the kids basically tend to gather outside
- 8:32Speaker 1: in like park areas, wreck areas and that sort of thing.
- 8:34Speaker 1: There's not really many places for them to hang out.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So we have Peyton Lutner who was twelve years old.
- 8:44Speaker 1: She had gone by the name Bella since apelled the
- 8:46Speaker 1: first grade. We are gonna go by her given name, Peyton.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I love that name, actually, so do I.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And I made the choice of calling your Peyton. Like
- 8:56Speaker 1: after I wrote all this, so I went through and
- 8:59Speaker 1: renamed rewrote it as Peyton. So I may have Bella
- 9:02Speaker 1: once or twice, and if I say Bella, my apologies,
- 9:05Speaker 1: that means that means Peyton, though I'm pretty sure I
- 9:08Speaker 1: got it. Okay, So she'd gone by the name Bellis
- 9:13Speaker 1: it's about the first grade. We'll call her Peyton. Morgan
- 9:16Speaker 1: Geyser had been Peyton's best friend since about the fourth grade.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So these two are like two peas in a pod.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Both girls had similar interests growing up, and they grew
- 9:28Speaker 1: into their lives side by side. They love cats, playing
- 9:31Speaker 1: dress up. They would frequently dress up as cats at
- 9:34Speaker 1: home and school.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Love that.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Peyton actually even drew whiskers on the back of her
- 9:40Speaker 1: hand lots in admiration of the animals that she loves
- 9:42Speaker 1: so much.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, so cute.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Just a little bit of that like purity for.
- 9:47Speaker 2: You today, Okay? Is that gonna? Am? I gonna hate
- 9:50Speaker 2: to know that at one point.
- 9:53Speaker 1: There's a little fact about that, But it's not a
- 9:56Speaker 1: hate to know it. It's it's a heartwarming fact about that. Okay,
- 9:59Speaker 1: But you're definitely gonna it's gonna go downhill from here.
- 10:04Speaker 1: About this case, Morgan was obsessed with Harry Potter. Her
- 10:08Speaker 1: and Peyton would occasionally run through the school grounds, imagining
- 10:11Speaker 1: Voldemort was chase chasing them. I can't talk today, I
- 10:15Speaker 1: need more coffee.
- 10:16Speaker 2: It is the morning, it is.
- 10:19Speaker 1: That's better. Okay. Both girls had a very active imagination,
- 10:24Speaker 1: but Morgan in particular would come up with many situations
- 10:27Speaker 1: and characters to live through and pretend and play. Peyton
- 10:31Speaker 1: was quite social and had a reputation as a people pleaser. Regardless,
- 10:35Speaker 1: these were not the most popular girls in their middle school,
- 10:39Speaker 1: which was Horning Middle School. They were in fact referred
- 10:42Speaker 1: to by one of the parents actually as misfits and
- 10:46Speaker 1: not girly girls.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So okay, so what's wrong with that?
- 10:53Speaker 1: Nothing's wrong.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You don't want to be a girly girl.
- 10:55Speaker 1: No, nothing's wrong with that. And maybe it's because they.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Were just like they weren't bad behaved kids, were they
- 11:01Speaker 2: by the sounds of it.
- 11:02Speaker 1: No, No, they were just free spirits and they were.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Their own people, beat to their own drum or whatever.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, they walk to their owndrum. Yeah, And it could
- 11:11Speaker 1: be just like their imagining, imagination, like they were so
- 11:14Speaker 1: imaginative or some described him as maybe a little bit immature,
- 11:18Speaker 1: but they were not interested in like boys or bands
- 11:20Speaker 1: or trying out for what was like a really popular
- 11:22Speaker 1: thing to do. I try out for the local dance team.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Okay, but that honestly, that imagination will take them further
- 11:28Speaker 2: in life.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I feel like, definitely, Yeah, I mean that's that's me.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I have a huge imagination. I even have a toy
- 11:34Speaker 1: lightsaber replica lightsaber. I should clarify that replica lightsaber that
- 11:39Speaker 1: you will find me spinning around lots in pretending I
- 11:42Speaker 1: am a Jedi or Sith because it's awesome.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I don't think you can do that in the tiny
- 11:45Speaker 2: home though, you would definitely wreck something.
- 11:47Speaker 1: But now I have a wide forest out front of
- 11:50Speaker 1: American From that's gonna happen one of these things. I
- 11:54Speaker 1: have to look outside and it'll be dark and it'll
- 11:56Speaker 1: just be me running out in the.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Tree or something.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Most likely this is this is the life.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yeah, this is what you chose.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So Morgan and Peyton continue to be best friends and
- 12:09Speaker 1: mostly only having each other when in twenty fourteen they
- 12:13Speaker 1: made it to the sixth grade. They talked on the
- 12:15Speaker 1: phone every night about their days in school and all
- 12:18Speaker 1: their imagination things that they had going on through the
- 12:21Speaker 1: day and what they had to share it together. This year, though,
- 12:25Speaker 1: things began to change a little bit. Morgan had made
- 12:27Speaker 1: a new friend named Anissa Weir. Now Anissa actually lived
- 12:33Speaker 1: in the same housing complex as Morgan as well, called
- 12:35Speaker 1: Sunset Apartments on Big Bend Road, and she even rode
- 12:39Speaker 1: the same bus every day. Anissa and Peyton knew each other,
- 12:43Speaker 1: but Morgan was like the friend they had in common
- 12:45Speaker 1: sort of thing. Okay, so if you were to ask
- 12:48Speaker 1: both Anissa and Peyton, they would both say that, like,
- 12:51Speaker 1: Morgan is their best friend.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So okay, so it is.
- 12:55Speaker 1: It's It became this group of three girls, but Morgan
- 12:58Speaker 1: was the tie between the two, right.
- 12:59Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so all three girls were in their first year
- 13:02Speaker 1: at middle school. Anissa and Morgan were socially isolated by
- 13:06Speaker 1: this time in their life. They were kind of loaners,
- 13:09Speaker 1: but friends with each other sort of thing, and again
- 13:11Speaker 1: friends with Peyton. Peyton was much more open and she
- 13:15Speaker 1: was considered to be a bit more of a social butterfly.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Morgan even acknowledged that Bella's role in her life was
- 13:24Speaker 1: literally her social lifeline. And there's a quote here from Morgan,
- 13:28Speaker 1: she was my only friend for a long time. Ah,
- 13:33Speaker 1: but this year she had a Nissa of course the
- 13:35Speaker 1: new friend. Now. Anissa, like I said, was socially isolated
- 13:40Speaker 1: as well, but she looked out for Morgan because Morgan
- 13:42Speaker 1: was quite often a target for being picked on. I
- 13:45Speaker 1: don't know how in depth it was, if it was
- 13:48Speaker 1: like full on bullying or consistent bullying, but there was
- 13:52Speaker 1: definitely situations of her like being made fun of or
- 13:55Speaker 1: poked fun a little bit here and there, and Nissa
- 13:57Speaker 1: would actually stand up for her. She would like make
- 13:59Speaker 1: sure it stop sort of thing.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Well, that is the age that I feel like a
- 14:02Speaker 2: lot of bullying happens too.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, there was one incident where she actually I'm assuming
- 14:08Speaker 1: it's like in the arm because it doesn't say but
- 14:10Speaker 1: and even like punched a boy and made him cry
- 14:13Speaker 1: after he was making fun of Morgan. Good, so good
- 14:16Speaker 1: for her. She's a bit more of that badass on
- 14:18Speaker 1: the end.
- 14:18Speaker 2: There love that stick up for yourself right and your friends.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, gotta do thatta, Gotta do the right thing. And also,
- 14:24Speaker 1: don't be a dick. Don't that's just not cool?
- 14:28Speaker 2: Like bullies, No, they can fuck off. No kidding, Like,
- 14:31Speaker 2: what's the point of that, There's just no point.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yeah, no kidding. So Morgan's birthday was on May sixteenth,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and Morgan was turning twelve, and on Friday, May thirtieth
- 14:43Speaker 1: of twenty fourteen, she had a birthday sleepover with her
- 14:46Speaker 1: two closest friends and together the three girls attended to
- 14:49Speaker 1: sleepover at Morgan's house.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Nice.
- 14:52Speaker 1: So it was a good old jolly time as any
- 14:54Speaker 1: girl sleepover. I'm imagining that they're in nineties and pillow
- 14:57Speaker 1: fights because that's all girls ever do, and of course
- 15:00Speaker 1: talk about boys in the film.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly what we do.
- 15:03Speaker 1: That's what happens.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure of it exactly.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, one thing about the town they do live in.
- 15:09Speaker 1: There there is a skate land at least.
- 15:12Speaker 2: That's what it's called, like skate park.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's an indoor roller rink. Okay, so it's especially popular
- 15:18Speaker 1: on Friday nights apparently. So it's like picturesque like picture this.
- 15:22Speaker 1: There's like a DJ who plays like the top hits.
- 15:25Speaker 1: There's a constellation of like bright glowing disco ball lights
- 15:28Speaker 1: on the floor. Everyone's rollerblading around the roller rink that
- 15:31Speaker 1: sort of thing.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Okay, that does sound really fun, except for that I
- 15:33Speaker 2: don't like skate or like I can't do that. You
- 15:36Speaker 2: can't roller sk sk skate, No, I.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Can roller blade. I've never tried roller skates. I don't
- 15:42Speaker 1: think that's actually where you have the four Yeah, yeah,
- 15:45Speaker 1: the tandem.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that may be a bit better than just roller skating.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I feel like maybe, I don't know, maybe it'd be harder.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Who knows, who knows?
- 15:53Speaker 1: People who've tried both, they know, Yeah, tell.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Us what's easier. Maybe we'll try one of them.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe maybe. So as part of 's birthday, the
- 16:00Speaker 1: three girls headed around there. I headed over there sorry
- 16:03Speaker 1: around dinner time. Morgan's father, Matt, took the girls there,
- 16:06Speaker 1: and he kind of played their chaperone for the evening.
- 16:09Speaker 1: They had a good time in the left of the
- 16:10Speaker 1: rink at about nine thirty, when Morgan said she wanted
- 16:12Speaker 1: to leave. Okay, So back at Morgan's house. The girls
- 16:16Speaker 1: continued their good time the goofedway the evening, giggling and
- 16:19Speaker 1: passing the time on their laptops until eventually they settled
- 16:22Speaker 1: down together and.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Went to bed. I definitely didn't have a laptop at
- 16:26Speaker 2: my I.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Know, right at my slumber parties in twenty fourteen too,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I mean, well, because I would have been a lot younger.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I don't even think there was laptops when I would
- 16:36Speaker 2: have had.
- 16:36Speaker 1: That's about the track I was about to get on.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I was I think twenty fourteen though, like it's a
- 16:39Speaker 1: little bit different.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, place it was like now it would be tablet
- 16:43Speaker 2: had their tablets.
- 16:44Speaker 1: With tablets and phones and laptops and computer and PlayStation
- 16:48Speaker 1: and Xbox. Yeah. Okay, Okay, I do want to ask,
- 16:53Speaker 1: do you have any idea where this case is going
- 16:54Speaker 1: so far? Any clue whatsoever?
- 17:00Speaker 2: I don't know. I feel like something bad's going to
- 17:02Speaker 2: happen to these girls.
- 17:03Speaker 1: You think something bad's going to happen to the girls.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yes, that's the only thing I can think of. Okay,
- 17:09Speaker 2: that's the only place my head's gone.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Okay, you are going to hate this story just an
- 17:15Speaker 1: f way. Oh so, so the next morning, the girls
- 17:22Speaker 1: woke up and they're having a good morning. One of
- 17:24Speaker 1: them decided it was a fucking great idea for whatever reason,
- 17:27Speaker 1: to crush up granola bars and stick them into silly
- 17:29Speaker 1: putty and then fling it to the roof. Okay, so
- 17:33Speaker 1: that's kind of sleep over there, haven't They were just
- 17:34Speaker 1: having a good old grand time doing that's so random, right,
- 17:40Speaker 1: And then they dressed. They played dress up and pretend
- 17:43Speaker 1: like basically, cause play is basically what they were doing.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Each of them were acting out their own character that
- 17:47Speaker 1: they looked up towards and or imagined up. Morgan was
- 17:52Speaker 1: data from Star Trek or data whichever way you want
- 17:54Speaker 1: to say. I'm not a Star Trek fan. I do
- 17:56Speaker 1: know the character, but I'm pretty sure it's data how
- 17:59Speaker 1: people mostly say it. So she was data from Star
- 18:02Speaker 1: Trek next generation. Peyton was a princess in a pink dress,
- 18:07Speaker 1: all fun, and Anissa was a character of her own
- 18:11Speaker 1: creation called a Prostatrol, which is quite inappropriate and uninteresting.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Morgan even commented later that that's quite the quite the character.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah that is a prostatrol.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Wow.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Okay, So after all that, they ended up having a
- 18:30Speaker 1: nice breakfast of donuts and strawberries, which is a dope
- 18:34Speaker 1: as fuck breakfast. I know what I want for breakfast
- 18:37Speaker 1: on my next birthday.
- 18:38Speaker 2: No kidding. Where do they get the donuts from? Him?
- 18:40Speaker 2: Where they homemade or just spot?
- 18:42Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'm pretty sure their parents are like,
- 18:44Speaker 1: here's the here's a sick birthday.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they made her birthday pretty sweet. It sounds
- 18:48Speaker 2: like a sweet birthday. It does like, can I have
- 18:51Speaker 2: this or my birthday?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Can we just have donuts and strawberries? Like every breakfast.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I actually want to try to make donuts. I feel
- 18:57Speaker 2: like that'd be super fun.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Do it?
- 18:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you still don't mean, I know, but I have
- 19:00Speaker 2: to make cheese kick next.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I love cheesecake so much. You really do, I really
- 19:06Speaker 1: really do. Okay, So, after eating what I describe as
- 19:10Speaker 1: the breakfast of champions, all three girls headed outside and
- 19:14Speaker 1: set off to a local park called Davy's Park. The
- 19:17Speaker 1: park is a green, grassy field about the size of
- 19:19Speaker 1: a city block, and on the way there, Peyton was
- 19:22Speaker 1: walking ahead of Morgan Nissa as the two of those
- 19:25Speaker 1: girls kind of agged a little bit behind her. It
- 19:28Speaker 1: was in this moment when Peyton had her back turned
- 19:30Speaker 1: to Morgan. Morgan pulled up the side of her black
- 19:35Speaker 1: plaid jacket and showed a Nissa what she had taken
- 19:37Speaker 1: from the kitchen, A long, thin kitchen knife, the kind
- 19:42Speaker 1: you had used to cut up vegetables or like a steak.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Oh gosh, yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 1: And a Nissa said this, I thought, dear God, this
- 19:53Speaker 1: is really happening.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:58Speaker 1: It was then and there, all the months of their
- 20:00Speaker 1: planning and fantasizing had come down to this day. Oh no, really,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let you soak this in for a moment.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Well, how old are these kids? Sorry?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Twelve?
- 20:13Speaker 2: Okay? Ah, you're just looking at me, and I like,
- 20:19Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know what.
- 20:20Speaker 1: To Sayah, that's what you say?
- 20:23Speaker 2: Lah? Oh okay, yeah, you're right. Okay, Well, maybe it's
- 20:27Speaker 2: not gonna happen what I think. No, maybe they're gonna
- 20:30Speaker 2: they're gonna do something bad someone else.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Once at the park, they stopped at some public restrooms
- 20:37Speaker 1: at the northeastern edge of the park, and it was
- 20:41Speaker 1: inside that Anissa and Morgan attacked Peyton.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Oh great.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Morgan lunged at Peyton and tried to restrain her, and
- 20:49Speaker 1: Anissa kind of half assed pushed Bella's head against the
- 20:52Speaker 1: brick wall. But in this moment, things fell apart a
- 20:56Speaker 1: little bit. Morgan fell apart a little more specifically.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Well, yeah, this is like her best friend, I thought.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah. She let go of Peyton and began frantically pacing
- 21:05Speaker 1: and singing inside the public bathroom.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so she has something going on here, and.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Nissa took control of the situation told Peyton to leave
- 21:15Speaker 1: the bathroom and go outside while she comforted Morgan. Now
- 21:19Speaker 1: while comforting her, apparently she consoled her by petting her
- 21:22Speaker 1: like a cat. And after a few more moments, Morgan
- 21:26Speaker 1: and Nissa emerged in the bathroom and it was just
- 21:29Speaker 1: as if nothing had ever happened.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Did Peyton run home?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Nope, Peyton was outside waiting for him. It was as
- 21:35Speaker 1: if Peyton's like two best friends in the world and
- 21:39Speaker 1: Morgan best friends for years, just never assaulted her, never
- 21:43Speaker 1: attempted to assault her.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Oh, I can't believe she waited. I would have been
- 21:47Speaker 2: like Pace.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure I would have done that too, But
- 21:51Speaker 1: like it's it's a tough situation, like and it's really
- 21:53Speaker 1: hard to understand, like the psychology be kind. Why Peyton
- 21:56Speaker 1: stuck around like beside her friends.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Well, she obviously didn't super unsafe.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Then, or maybe she was just like in shock, didn't
- 22:03Speaker 1: what to do, okay, I don't know. Maybe it was
- 22:05Speaker 1: like it could just be like the sheer trust in
- 22:08Speaker 1: her friends. Maybe one theory is maybe she thought it
- 22:12Speaker 1: was a little bit more of like imaginative imaginative play
- 22:15Speaker 1: that she's used to that just went a little bit
- 22:16Speaker 1: too far because they do act out scenes and have imagination.
- 22:22Speaker 1: So maybe she just thought it went a little bit
- 22:24Speaker 1: too far or something, huh. And like I said, maybe
- 22:28Speaker 1: it was shocked. I think that's kind of my my theory.
- 22:32Speaker 1: She just had like usion, Yeah, confusion and shock, like
- 22:35Speaker 1: that didn't just happen like no, like it was an act,
- 22:37Speaker 1: Like there's no way.
- 22:38Speaker 2: So like the plan was literally that they were going
- 22:40Speaker 2: to basically stab and kill her probably, but then Morgan
- 22:46Speaker 2: for some reason got a conscience maybe Okay, I hope that. Okay,
- 22:53Speaker 2: you just keep giving me the side and I'm like,
- 22:55Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm just hear what you have to say.
- 22:59Speaker 1: What you're thinking.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Well, I'm not going there for some reason.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Well, I can't answer these questions yet. We will answer them.
- 23:05Speaker 2: But honestly, this whole situation that's happening right now makes
- 23:08Speaker 2: no sense for the title of this Well, it will, okay,
- 23:12Speaker 2: it will, because that's why I'm just like, it's that's
- 23:14Speaker 2: why I'm like mostly confused, I think, because it just
- 23:16Speaker 2: doesn't Okay.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Well, we're going to be going through the story of
- 23:20Speaker 1: what happened and then into why it happened the way
- 23:23Speaker 1: it did, So that's kind of how we're doing okay, okay,
- 23:26Speaker 1: so stick around if you want to hear why and
- 23:28Speaker 1: how and all that sort of stuff.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Just stick around that.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Wow. Do you have you ever watched that show? I
- 23:34Speaker 1: think it was a Canadian cartoon show sticking around.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 23:38Speaker 1: No, they say that at the end of the just
- 23:39Speaker 1: stick around. Yeah, at the end of like not the show,
- 23:42Speaker 1: but like the intermissions, like we'll be back. Just stick
- 23:45Speaker 1: around it just like flash.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Flashback. That's funny.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Okay. So anyways, that aside, where am I I was
- 23:57Speaker 1: looking away from notes for so long?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Out of the bathroom?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, So we're not too sure why Peyton decided
- 24:04Speaker 1: stick around, but she did. She waited outside the bathroom
- 24:07Speaker 1: and she regrouped with the regrouped with her friends when
- 24:11Speaker 1: they came out, and from there they simply decided that
- 24:14Speaker 1: they were going to go play hide and seek. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 1: so they decided, you know, far boundary of the park
- 24:20Speaker 1: was a great spot to do that.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Oh gosh, okay, well, I do actually feel like this
- 24:23Speaker 2: shows Peyton's character a lot though.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Definitely, you know, yeah, she's definitely got that stick by
- 24:30Speaker 1: your friend's type attitude totally. So together they headed down
- 24:34Speaker 1: to the end of Big Bend Road where the asphalt
- 24:36Speaker 1: turns to gravel and at the dead end of the
- 24:39Speaker 1: road by the woods. They decided that's what they're going
- 24:42Speaker 1: to play.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Now.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Re mind you, these are like suburban type woods as well.
- 24:46Speaker 1: They're like quote unquote woods quote unquote forest sort of thing. Okay,
- 24:50Speaker 1: so it's like sparse trees with some shrubs and that
- 24:53Speaker 1: sort of thing scattered about and not really like heavily
- 24:55Speaker 1: trees with entangled bush and like high willows or that.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Like not what we're used to like when I think
- 25:02Speaker 2: about the forest.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yes, different, it's more like when you think about the
- 25:05Speaker 1: movies and you see people like running through the bush
- 25:08Speaker 1: because it's like fairly open like.
- 25:09Speaker 2: That sort of stuff. We can't just run through the bush.
- 25:12Speaker 1: No, we have to like stumble for ten minutes to
- 25:15Speaker 1: get ten feet through ours.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so fucking thick.
- 25:19Speaker 1: So yeah, it's hard for them to make that. It's
- 25:22Speaker 1: hard for us to make away from point A to
- 25:23Speaker 1: point B, but it's a little bit easier for them now.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Once they got there, they played the game of hide
- 25:28Speaker 1: and seek. It began, and though it wasn't much of
- 25:30Speaker 1: a game, it didn't last long, Morgan counted first, and
- 25:33Speaker 1: A Nissa and Bella hid and A Nissa actually tried
- 25:37Speaker 1: to tackle Peyton but couldn't hold her down.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, this isn't ending.
- 25:41Speaker 1: It's not ending.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Okay, Peyton, it's home.
- 25:45Speaker 1: She do, she do, she really does. But it was
- 25:48Speaker 1: at this moment that Morgan took out the knife out
- 25:51Speaker 1: of its hiding spot and passed it to a Nissa,
- 25:54Speaker 1: but A Nissa quickly refused it and handed it back,
- 25:57Speaker 1: saying that she was too squeamish. All the while, Peyton
- 26:00Speaker 1: was none the wiser of what was happening, as she
- 26:02Speaker 1: was crouched down in the ground admiring some flowers, not
- 26:05Speaker 1: paying attention to what was transpiring behind her.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Oh this poor girl.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So during the conversation between Morgan and Nissa, Morgan said,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm not going to until you tell me to, then
- 26:20Speaker 1: began to walk away, clearly frustrated. But after she had
- 26:23Speaker 1: gone only about five feet, A Nissa stopped her in
- 26:27Speaker 1: her tracks when she shouted, kitty now, gobilistic, go crazy.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Oh gosh okay, oh no no no.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Frozen in her steps, Morgan's unforgiving voice replied with words
- 26:41Speaker 1: that are nothing short of a fucking horror film. She said,
- 26:46Speaker 1: don't be afraid. I'm only a little kitty cat. Oh
- 26:53Speaker 1: And in that moment, Morgan turned and rushed towards Peyton
- 26:56Speaker 1: with her NiFe, pushed her onto the ground. With the
- 26:59Speaker 1: knife still in her hand, she brought it up and
- 27:01Speaker 1: began thrusting it on top of her best friend, repeatedly
- 27:05Speaker 1: into her chest, abdomen, arms, and legs, for a total
- 27:10Speaker 1: of nineteen times. The knife punctured her stomach, her liver,
- 27:16Speaker 1: her pancreas, and barely missing a major artery near her heart.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Okay, so she didn't die.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Well, not yet.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Well, only this is just wild. Yeah, I feel like this.
- 27:30Speaker 2: What's her name, Anista? Anissa is like a terrible influence.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I'm not a man of her. I feel like she
- 27:37Speaker 2: has to be a terrible influence to Morgan because Morgan
- 27:41Speaker 2: and Peyton were friends and this person now is coming
- 27:44Speaker 2: in and doing this. We'll get into that later too, Okay, dang, I.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Coffee sip coffee break. Okay, So, in pain and in shock,
- 27:58Speaker 1: Peyton was screaming. She screamed, I hate you. I trusted you,
- 28:04Speaker 1: and in fact I trusted you was the last word
- 28:07Speaker 1: she ever said. To Peyton. She tried to get up
- 28:11Speaker 1: and walk away, get away, but she couldn't.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Wait, I'm confused. Who said that to Peyton? Morgan said
- 28:17Speaker 2: that to me?
- 28:18Speaker 1: Peyton said that to Morgan. So Peyton said, I hate you,
- 28:22Speaker 1: I trusted you. Did I get the names mixed up?
- 28:25Speaker 2: I don't know. I think so, but I'm just clarifying. Okay, okay.
- 28:27Speaker 1: So Peyton, while being attacked, screamed that to her attacker Morgan,
- 28:31Speaker 1: I hate you, I trusted you. That was the last
- 28:33Speaker 1: word she ever actually said to Morgan. She tried to
- 28:37Speaker 1: get up and walk or run away whatever she could,
- 28:39Speaker 1: but she couldn't. She wobbled, and that's when Anissa took
- 28:42Speaker 1: her by the arm and the two girls steered her
- 28:44Speaker 1: deeper into the woods and told her to lay.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Down, laying there's just an immense pain, ye stab confusely,
- 28:54Speaker 2: I'm sure, Oh my goodness.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Brutal, like I can't imagine that situation, Oh I can't.
- 28:58Speaker 1: And then being led deeper in the woods by your assailants.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, people that you trusted and we're your friends and
- 29:04Speaker 2: you just had an awesome summer party.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So laying their defenseless amongst the trees with these
- 29:11Speaker 1: two supposed friends. Peyton laid there waiting for what was
- 29:14Speaker 1: sure to be death with each passing breath. Morgan half
- 29:18Speaker 1: heartedly tried to dress Peyton's wounds with a leaf before
- 29:21Speaker 1: her Eninessa said wait here, we're going to go for help,
- 29:24Speaker 1: and they fled, leaving Peyton laying bleeding on the forest floor. However,
- 29:29Speaker 1: the two girls had no intention of going to get help.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Peyton, though, was not about to lie down and fade away.
- 29:39Speaker 1: She began to crawl away through the forest, across the
- 29:43Speaker 1: grassy forest floor, and eventually she came upon a nearby
- 29:47Speaker 1: paved pathway.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Oh please have there'd be someone help her.
- 29:51Speaker 1: It was pure chance that he came upon her. If
- 29:56Speaker 1: he didn't, the story may have a completely different outcome.
- 30:00Speaker 1: A cyclist by the name of Greg Steinberg discovered the
- 30:02Speaker 1: twelve year old Peyton laying on the middle of the
- 30:05Speaker 1: bike path, covered in blood, a path that had actually
- 30:08Speaker 1: been blocked off where there was not supposed to be anyone.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so this rule breaker, thank you? Hey.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Yeah. There was a chained off pathway that he ended
- 30:17Speaker 1: up going over anyways, and he came across Peyton.
- 30:20Speaker 2: On the path goodness.
- 30:22Speaker 1: He immediately called nine one one and began to comfort
- 30:25Speaker 1: Peyton as he was able to confidently tell nine one
- 30:28Speaker 1: one dispatch, yes, she's breathing. He stayed on the call
- 30:32Speaker 1: with nine one one until they arrived on the scene
- 30:34Speaker 1: and they were able to make They were able to
- 30:37Speaker 1: take the terrified girl to the nearby hospital only four
- 30:41Speaker 1: miles away. But during the time that Peyton laid there
- 30:44Speaker 1: on the path, she was also able to tell who
- 30:47Speaker 1: was responsible for her condition.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Okay, well it's nineteen stab woms. It's amazing that didn't
- 30:53Speaker 2: kill her.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she is very very lucky.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah that she was even still breathing after all that.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Yeah, So Peyton was rushed to the hospital put into
- 31:03Speaker 1: immediate immediate surgery for her wounds. And it was about
- 31:07Speaker 1: five hours later and a few miles away, police ran
- 31:09Speaker 1: into the suspects of the incident's.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Incident, Dun Dum.
- 31:15Speaker 1: They were resting in a grassy patch along the interstate
- 31:19Speaker 1: of ninety four. The police approached them carefully, where that
- 31:23Speaker 1: these maybe the girls they were looking for, but their
- 31:25Speaker 1: age caught the officers off guard. How could two young
- 31:29Speaker 1: girls this young be suspect of a stabbing one of
- 31:36Speaker 1: them noticed on Morgan's clothes, of course, blood, so he
- 31:41Speaker 1: asked if she was injured. She said no, and he
- 31:43Speaker 1: said where did the blood come from? And Morgan said,
- 31:46Speaker 1: I was forced to stab my best friend?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Okay, why was she forced to do? Tell?
- 31:54Speaker 1: We're not going to tell quite yet on why yet.
- 31:57Speaker 1: We're still getting into it. You're going to be finding
- 32:00Speaker 1: out why, who, how, everything?
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah, because right now, like this is just not making
- 32:06Speaker 2: a lot of sense. You know it makes sense, well,
- 32:09Speaker 2: I know it will, but it's like, right now, I'm
- 32:11Speaker 2: just like, come on, like, what the heck's going on here?
- 32:13Speaker 2: I need more details.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Well, like I said, we're going we're playing it out first,
- 32:17Speaker 1: the why and all that's coming up. So after their arrest,
- 32:21Speaker 1: over the course of nearly nine combined hours of interview,
- 32:24Speaker 1: they claimed they were compelled to kill their best friend
- 32:29Speaker 1: by a monster they encountered online.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Oh wow, Okay, I never okay, sorry, I never went there.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I didn't go there at all.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Really, no, holy So what's going through your head right now?
- 32:45Speaker 2: That they were probably just like in some weird chat
- 32:47Speaker 2: room or something, in some nasty mofo murderer, dude is
- 32:51Speaker 2: like taking advantage of these young girls.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Well no, but I mean in a sense, you're not
- 32:59Speaker 1: far off in a sense.
- 33:02Speaker 2: So it wasn't even them. Okay, here I was blaming
- 33:04Speaker 2: that one new girl, and I was like, I don't
- 33:05Speaker 2: like her, but okay, I might eat those words.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Uh no, you're not gonna eat those words. She was
- 33:12Speaker 1: definitely involved in this, so okay. So when the police
- 33:15Speaker 1: actually discovered the girls, they were in fact making their
- 33:18Speaker 1: way too, said Monster. They were heading to Wisconsin's Nicolette
- 33:23Speaker 1: National Forest on foot, which is almost two hundred miles away.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Morgan and Aissa, for whatever reason, thought he'd lived there
- 33:31Speaker 1: in a mansion, so they had packed granola bars, water bottles,
- 33:36Speaker 1: and photos of their families to remember them by.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Oh so they're like peace in out our town to
- 33:42Speaker 2: go meet up with this dude.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yeah, because though they were both very young, they had
- 33:47Speaker 1: been chosen for a dark and unique destiny that none
- 33:50Speaker 1: of their classmates could possibly understand.
- 33:53Speaker 2: According to them, huh oh wow.
- 33:56Speaker 1: They were convinced that once in the forest where this
- 34:00Speaker 1: being lived, they pushed far enough into the seven hundred
- 34:03Speaker 1: thousand acre forest, they would find the mansion where he lived,
- 34:07Speaker 1: and he would welcome them in. The Monster in question is,
- 34:11Speaker 1: of course none other than the dreaded slender Man.
- 34:15Speaker 2: And surely he does not live.
- 34:17Speaker 1: In a mansion, or surely he does not live at all.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I mean he's an urban legend. Oh okay, I've proven
- 34:26Speaker 1: false urban legend. Like we have his history, which we're
- 34:29Speaker 1: going to go through right now. So it was on
- 34:31Speaker 1: June tenth of two thousand and nine, on a comedy
- 34:34Speaker 1: website called Something Awful, a user by the name of
- 34:37Speaker 1: Victor Surge whose real name is Eric Knudsen, posted a
- 34:42Speaker 1: pair of doctored images depicting a tall, dark figure standing
- 34:45Speaker 1: behind unaware children and explains they were supposedly found in
- 34:49Speaker 1: a library of small town. Now, through discussions and more
- 34:54Speaker 1: photographs that were.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Like, what is your mic kind of from your face?
- 35:01Speaker 1: I don't know at my levels? Good? No, I'm good.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Okay, sorry sorry, Well it's just like seemed like you're
- 35:08Speaker 2: echine away. So I was just like making sure, no,
- 35:10Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 35:11Speaker 1: So, through discussions more photoshopped images, the forum solidified that
- 35:18Speaker 1: the features of the creature known as slender Man was faceless,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and that was nearly constant through all these discussions. He
- 35:28Speaker 1: typically wore a black suit and sometimes had tentacles growing
- 35:31Speaker 1: out of his back. He would abduct children, and death,
- 35:34Speaker 1: commonly involving mutilation, would be sure to follow.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 35:39Speaker 1: The character seemed to take an instant grab the attention
- 35:42Speaker 1: of the Internet and propelled them into the dark corners
- 35:44Speaker 1: of lore and legend. His tall, faceless being was something
- 35:49Speaker 1: that unanimously creeped anyone out who came across his story,
- 35:53Speaker 1: only feeding into the hold, his hold that he had
- 35:55Speaker 1: on their minds. Okay, so, and that's where what you
- 35:59Speaker 1: don't know about him really creeps people out, because he
- 36:02Speaker 1: has completely blank faced, just nothing on his face. This tall, slender,
- 36:06Speaker 1: like by tall, I mean like ten twelve fourteen feet
- 36:09Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Okay, I was thinking like seven feet six feet tall.
- 36:15Speaker 1: And of course, like his height varies depending on a
- 36:17Speaker 1: lot of people, So I mean it could be taller,
- 36:19Speaker 1: it could be a little bit shorter, but very skinny,
- 36:22Speaker 1: very slender being in a just black suit.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that would do it.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah. So eventually a web series called Marble Hornets was released.
- 36:33Speaker 1: It's a low budget collection of films posted to YouTube
- 36:35Speaker 1: which I have not watched yet, but I want to watch.
- 36:37Speaker 1: It's been something on my list for a long time.
- 36:40Speaker 1: They were shot with a cheap home video camera and
- 36:42Speaker 1: soon becomes evident that slender Man was stalking the filmmaker.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Following more and more growth of short films and doctored images,
- 36:50Speaker 1: the video game called Slender later named as Slender the
- 36:53Speaker 1: Eight Pages, was released, propelling the legend even further, and
- 36:56Speaker 1: finally even a Hollywood movie being released in two thousand
- 37:00Speaker 1: eighteen titled slender Man.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Oh seriously, I haven't even heard of that. No, No,
- 37:05Speaker 2: have you watched that?
- 37:05Speaker 1: I haven't watched it yet, Okay. I was waiting for
- 37:08Speaker 1: it to come out. I'm like, ooh, I want to
- 37:09Speaker 1: see this, and then I heard mixed reviews and I.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Was kind of like, is it like a horror movie?
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's horror okay, and that's kind of like I
- 37:15Speaker 1: don't know if I want to watch it. And then
- 37:16Speaker 1: I just never did watch it, So I will watch
- 37:18Speaker 1: it eventually.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you need to watch it, definitely.
- 37:21Speaker 1: So today, slender Man is an urban legend of myth,
- 37:25Speaker 1: proven myth because we know exactly where it came from
- 37:27Speaker 1: and who created him, right, but many people claim to
- 37:30Speaker 1: have encountered him in and have photograph proof of him.
- 37:35Speaker 1: But one thing is for sure, if you find yourself
- 37:37Speaker 1: in the forest area park, you might want to be
- 37:39Speaker 1: wary of who is following because it could be slender Man.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Great, because we don't have enough to be wary about.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Right, especially when walking through parks low night, Yeah, trees
- 37:50Speaker 1: and forested areas. But that now, if you do want
- 37:54Speaker 1: to summon the creature known as slender Man for whatever reason,
- 37:57Speaker 1: there is a ritual that you can do to summon him.
- 38:01Speaker 1: So step one. It works better at night, So you
- 38:05Speaker 1: go out at night, of course, of course always Step
- 38:08Speaker 1: two you go into the woods and you carve a
- 38:10Speaker 1: circle into a tree and put an X through it.
- 38:13Speaker 1: You press your face gently against a tree and close
- 38:15Speaker 1: your eyes. Step three, chant slender Man, slender Man. All
- 38:20Speaker 1: the children try to run. Then you repeat, keep chanting
- 38:24Speaker 1: that and four turn around.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Oh oh gosh, that's actually a pretty easy one that
- 38:31Speaker 2: to do, though it is, but.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you're not going to find yourself a
- 38:35Speaker 1: slender Man.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah. So if you ever see like a circle with
- 38:38Speaker 2: a what is it a cross? Yeah, it's a circle
- 38:40Speaker 2: next through it, then you know someone is that's interesting. Actually,
- 38:44Speaker 2: I want to go do some of those around town.
- 38:45Speaker 1: You want to do it? Just the ritual, just like
- 38:48Speaker 1: carbon there's kids out there probably done.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 38:52Speaker 1: By now, slender Man is definitely not at his peak popularity.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I would say probably was at his peak popularity Man
- 39:01Speaker 1: probably around when the video game came out, which I
- 39:03Speaker 1: think was like two thousand and fifteen, fourteen something like that,
- 39:06Speaker 1: which is right around when this story is taking place.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Anissa had actually admitted to introducing Morgan to slender Man
- 39:16Speaker 1: on the website Creepy Pasta, which is you know, creepy Pasta. No,
- 39:21Speaker 1: but it's like a website for creepy stories and forum
- 39:24Speaker 1: discussions and stuff, okay, And she introduced her to this
- 39:28Speaker 1: around October of twenty thirteen when they first met, right
- 39:35Speaker 1: at the time, all girls were in their first year
- 39:37Speaker 1: at middle school. Anissa and Morgan were, like I said,
- 39:39Speaker 1: socially isolated, but Bella was more of an open social butterfly.
- 39:43Speaker 1: So it gave a connection for Morgan and Anissa to
- 39:48Speaker 1: kind of build the relationship through this newfound slender Man.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I repeated something here. So when Morgan was shown slender
- 40:03Speaker 1: Man from Anissa, she immediately thought that she uncovered quote
- 40:06Speaker 1: unquote it's true identity. Through her life, she had been
- 40:11Speaker 1: plagued by a figure that would follow her and watch her.
- 40:14Speaker 1: She would even see it standing behind her in mirrors
- 40:17Speaker 1: at times. Now, this figure she's sworn to have seen
- 40:21Speaker 1: in person had a name because of Anissa, she knows
- 40:25Speaker 1: its name, she knows its agenda, and it was clearly
- 40:29Speaker 1: going to kill her.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Oh boy. That so Morgan had basically seen this figure
- 40:37Speaker 2: earlier on.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yes, she had seen something, and she is now identifying.
- 40:41Speaker 2: It as a slender Man, which is terrifying.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Definitely worried that slender Man is now after her and
- 40:50Speaker 1: would return, this time with the tentacles which is often
- 40:54Speaker 1: depicted out of slender Man's back, and then generally how
- 40:57Speaker 1: he attacks you, oh girls. She confronted Anissa, and, according
- 41:04Speaker 1: to court documents, Morgan told a Nissa she recognized slender
- 41:08Speaker 1: slender Man, sorry and all the things she had seen
- 41:13Speaker 1: like in her life. She'd seen this personally, She'd seen
- 41:16Speaker 1: it throughout her throat growing up, and A Nissa believed her,
- 41:20Speaker 1: and A Nissa told Morgan that she knew slender Man
- 41:22Speaker 1: personally as well.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 41:25Speaker 1: So together the two decided that they could stop him
- 41:27Speaker 1: from killing her and her family. They just needed to
- 41:31Speaker 1: make a sacrifice. Of someone h someone Morgan loved, someone
- 41:37Speaker 1: like Peyton.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Wow, So she was doing this to protect herself and
- 41:42Speaker 2: her family?
- 41:43Speaker 1: Yes, because she believed slender Man was after her.
- 41:47Speaker 2: I guess is not a terrible motive.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Not a terrible motive. You're right, it's not. But it
- 41:54Speaker 1: doesn't make it Okay.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Now, Oh gosh, no, not at all.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna have a quick sip of cofee talk
- 42:00Speaker 1: for a moment.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Oh well, no, you're leaving mess at this cliffhanger? What
- 42:04Speaker 2: am I supposed to say?
- 42:06Speaker 1: That was perfect?
- 42:08Speaker 2: Okay? But what I did have a question for you?
- 42:10Speaker 2: What the heck was it?
- 42:11Speaker 1: Now?
- 42:12Speaker 2: Oh gosh, it left me. It will come back, Okay.
- 42:17Speaker 1: So, over the next few months of meeting Anissa, her
- 42:20Speaker 1: and Morgan's friendship grew over their bond of isolation and
- 42:23Speaker 1: obsession with a monster. Like I said, I.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Remember the question, Okay, go ahead. Did I wonder if
- 42:27Speaker 2: pet or maybe I'm this is skipping head, I have
- 42:29Speaker 2: no idea. But did Peyton have any idea that Morgan
- 42:32Speaker 2: was seeing these like weird visuals?
- 42:35Speaker 1: I wonder No, not as far as I know.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Okay, that was my question.
- 42:41Speaker 1: So they began to develop fantasies of living with slender men.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Oh, that would just be awful.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Yeah, And the two planned that in killing someone and
- 42:52Speaker 1: making this sacrifice, they would actually become his proxies. They
- 42:56Speaker 1: would become kind of like his, his left hand men
- 43:02Speaker 1: kind of thing, not necessarily men, you know what I mean. Yeah.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Eventually they agreed that the person would be Peyton, that
- 43:09Speaker 1: they would kill and they would stab her on May thirtieth,
- 43:13Speaker 1: at Morgan's twelfth birthday party. That was the plan. By
- 43:18Speaker 1: this time, the planning had been going on since December,
- 43:21Speaker 1: making it six months of premeditation.
- 43:24Speaker 2: That's like a really long time.
- 43:26Speaker 1: And during this time they used code words so no
- 43:30Speaker 1: one would know what they were up to.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Oh gosh.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Terms like cracker was used for both knife and killing,
- 43:36Speaker 1: and camping trip was used to describe their escape plan.
- 43:42Speaker 1: So when the day finally arrived, however, plans changed from
- 43:45Speaker 1: killing Morgan or sorry, from killing Peyton at Morgan's birthday party. Bye,
- 43:50Speaker 1: this was the original plan. By taping her mouth shut,
- 43:52Speaker 1: then cutting her neck with a knife, oh while she slept,
- 43:56Speaker 1: and then leaving her under the blankets to make it
- 43:58Speaker 1: look like she was still sleeping while they run from there,
- 44:02Speaker 1: they apparently read in line that it's easy to kill
- 44:04Speaker 1: someone while they're asleep, so it was perfect opportunity.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Did they attempt that.
- 44:09Speaker 1: No, they never did attempt it. Plans change from that
- 44:12Speaker 1: to going out to the park where they would do
- 44:14Speaker 1: it the next day instead, and while we know how
- 44:17Speaker 1: it played out from there.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so they did intend to just leave. Are they
- 44:22Speaker 2: were intending to leave Peyton there and hoping that she
- 44:25Speaker 2: just died from her wounds? Basically?
- 44:27Speaker 1: Yes?
- 44:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 44:30Speaker 1: So in the time since their arrest, Morgan has been
- 44:33Speaker 1: examined by multiple psychiatrists and psychologists who concluded that she
- 44:37Speaker 1: was clearly mentally ill and most likely schizophrenic and extremely
- 44:42Speaker 1: rare diagnosis for a twelve year old, and there is
- 44:45Speaker 1: no evidence of any malingering, which is a term psychologists
- 44:48Speaker 1: use for quote unquote faking it. So her disorder is
- 44:55Speaker 1: what had her seeing things at a very young age.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Okay, that's what I was thinking was happening.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Even as a young child, her parents reported Morgan having
- 45:05Speaker 1: issues with ghosts pulling in her hair and.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Bed, so this had been going on a while.
- 45:10Speaker 1: This has been going on for quite some time, and
- 45:13Speaker 1: now being introduced to slender Man, Morgan had something to
- 45:16Speaker 1: say that this is what's causing it and a reason
- 45:20Speaker 1: for her being so terrified and going so far to
- 45:23Speaker 1: try and stop it.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Oh geez, So did her parents had previously tried to
- 45:30Speaker 2: get her help?
- 45:30Speaker 1: I wonder, No, they kind of brushed it off. Mostly
- 45:34Speaker 1: it didn't seem like it was anything other than her
- 45:36Speaker 1: extremely active imagination to say. Yeah, so, and I mean
- 45:41Speaker 1: she did well in school still, so like she had
- 45:44Speaker 1: above average IQ good grades, that sort of stuff.
- 45:46Speaker 2: And so yeah, if if it had been affecting her school,
- 45:50Speaker 2: they definitely probably would have taken more action.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Sure. Yeah, and there was, Like I said, there's nothing
- 45:54Speaker 1: more to show that it was something as far as
- 45:57Speaker 1: mental health rather than just an overactive imagination for a
- 46:03Speaker 1: young kid.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Morgan and Nissa did not yet know that Bella actually,
- 46:09Speaker 1: against all odds, had survived attack. Her surgery was successful,
- 46:13Speaker 1: and she was expected to make a full recovery with
- 46:16Speaker 1: her family by her side.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Wow.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Though, doctor John Kelman, I think, is how you say
- 46:21Speaker 1: his name has a quote here that says, if the
- 46:25Speaker 1: knife had gone any farther, sorry this I added any farther.
- 46:29Speaker 1: So here's his actual quote, if the knife had gone
- 46:32Speaker 1: the width of a human hair further, she would not
- 46:35Speaker 1: have lived. Holy hat, that's how close it was to
- 46:38Speaker 1: piercing the artery by her heart.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's like amazing luck.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Then hey, yes, so I do want to say that
- 46:47Speaker 1: Peyton for crawling out of the bush, the bush at twelve,
- 46:51Speaker 1: at twelve years old with nineteen stab wounds, surviving this
- 46:54Speaker 1: whole art deal. And we talked a little bit more
- 46:58Speaker 1: about Peyton at the very end, she is badass of
- 47:04Speaker 1: the day.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Well, even the fact of that she was first attacked
- 47:08Speaker 2: in the bathroom and then didn't leave, Yeah, like just
- 47:11Speaker 2: waited for her friends, Like just shows that she's incredible.
- 47:17Speaker 2: So I would have been gone for sure.
- 47:21Speaker 1: So there are some more testimonies for Morgan's mental health
- 47:25Speaker 1: other than what we've already talked about. Morgan's teacher, Missus Whedenbaum,
- 47:30Speaker 1: I think he's, like you say the name, was concerned
- 47:33Speaker 1: enough to talk to Morgan's mother about her behavior in January,
- 47:38Speaker 1: as Morgan actually was even briefly suspended for bringing me
- 47:41Speaker 1: a hammer to school as well. Okay, her eccentricities, I
- 47:46Speaker 1: guess is the best way to say it. Just kind
- 47:48Speaker 1: of we're played off as being just just that, just
- 47:52Speaker 1: she's eccentric, the act of imagination, So there's not a
- 47:56Speaker 1: whole lot that one can really say would have predicted
- 47:59Speaker 1: what happened. During questioning, however, Morgan did recall and described
- 48:05Speaker 1: the incident as quote unquote stabby stab stab stab. I
- 48:11Speaker 1: didn't feel like anything while she was making vague, loose stabbing.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Gestures with their left hair best friend.
- 48:19Speaker 1: She said it was like air, and she also went
- 48:22Speaker 1: on to tell police it was weird that I didn't
- 48:25Speaker 1: feel any remorse.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Very weird. Yeah.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're stabbing your best friend and you feel
- 48:32Speaker 1: nothing but air or something wrong, no remorse, and describe
- 48:36Speaker 1: it as stabby stab stab stab, that is fucked up.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Oh just a little so yeah. Immediately following the incident,
- 48:46Speaker 1: the two girls were tried as adults as they were
- 48:48Speaker 1: found mentally competent of their actions, even Morgan. They spent
- 48:54Speaker 1: four months in juvenile detention center awaiting their trial. Okay,
- 48:58Speaker 1: August first, a judge declared incompetent to stand trial after
- 49:02Speaker 1: two doctors testified of her mental state.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but the other girl had nothing wrong with her then, hey,
- 49:09Speaker 2: or no mental issues or anything that came up.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Uh, no, not really no.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Which is interesting. Yeah, so she should have been saying something,
- 49:17Speaker 2: that's for sure.
- 49:19Speaker 1: So Morgan worked out a plea agreement with the prosecutors
- 49:23Speaker 1: in which she would avoid trial and pleaded guilty to
- 49:26Speaker 1: attempted first degree murder of intentional homicide, but that her
- 49:31Speaker 1: mental illness was the cause. So she is currently serving
- 49:35Speaker 1: a maximum of forty year sentence at a mental health facility.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Oh wow, Actually that's a long time.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Where Nissa pleaded guilty to being a party to attempt
- 49:46Speaker 1: second degree intentional homicide and was to serve up to
- 49:51Speaker 1: twenty five years in a mental health facility.
- 49:56Speaker 2: But technically she also was the one that was like
- 49:59Speaker 2: told we're going to do it, so.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I don't know she was. But she didn't technically do
- 50:06Speaker 1: it though, either, which is why I think the sentence
- 50:08Speaker 1: is a little less.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, so.
- 50:10Speaker 1: She didn't swing the knife, true, she was involved, but
- 50:13Speaker 1: she didn't stab anyone.
- 50:15Speaker 2: True.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Yeah, So those are the sentencing. However, are you ready
- 50:22Speaker 1: for this?
- 50:22Speaker 2: I don't know, am I.
- 50:26Speaker 1: In March of twenty twenty one, a Nissa had put
- 50:29Speaker 1: in a request from the court or to the court
- 50:31Speaker 1: to release her from her institution.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Which is not very many years after the incident.
- 50:36Speaker 1: At the hearing, Judge Michael o'burne, I think is how
- 50:40Speaker 1: you say. The name requests are accepted in NISA's request,
- 50:46Speaker 1: agreeing to the recommendations from three doctors who evaluated her
- 50:50Speaker 1: and said that she did not pose a threat to
- 50:52Speaker 1: her or her to herself or others. She was released
- 50:57Speaker 1: as of September thirteenth, twenty twenty one, which is only
- 51:02Speaker 1: four weeks ago as of releasing the tests.
- 51:07Speaker 2: And how old would she be?
- 51:08Speaker 1: I think nineteen right now? What? Yeah, So, Anissa Weir
- 51:14Speaker 1: has been released and is now a free individual, and
- 51:17Speaker 1: Morgan is still in her facility and she was named
- 51:21Speaker 1: facilities supposed.
- 51:22Speaker 2: To be getting like twenty five years up to.
- 51:25Speaker 1: She wasn't supposed to be getting it, but she was
- 51:26Speaker 1: supposed to be getting up to. Holy heck, you're good.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Well, I'm just like, that's quite an incident, and that's
- 51:33Speaker 2: really she's still quite young, and okay, hopefully that's okay,
- 51:39Speaker 2: because honestly, that age, though nineteen, is still susceptible to
- 51:43Speaker 2: like being manipulated kind of right. Oh yeah, sure, So
- 51:47Speaker 2: I feel like I hope that that this doesn't I
- 51:50Speaker 2: don't know I just think she could easily be manipulated
- 51:52Speaker 2: again to doing something bad, because that's really not very
- 51:56Speaker 2: much time to work on yourself, really, when you doing
- 51:58Speaker 2: such a bad incident.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Yeah, though, I don't think she was manipulated to do this,
- 52:04Speaker 1: just to clarify that, because you said that she could
- 52:06Speaker 1: be manipulated to do something again, she wasn't.
- 52:09Speaker 2: She tagged along though, and she didn't. She didn't say
- 52:12Speaker 2: anything was wrong when what they were doing was clearly
- 52:14Speaker 2: very wrong.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, for sure. But I just want to
- 52:19Speaker 1: let make it clear that Anissa and Morgan didn't manipulate
- 52:22Speaker 1: each other. They built off each other. Well yeah, so
- 52:26Speaker 1: one did not make the other do anything.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Okay, So what I guess I'm trying to say, she
- 52:31Speaker 2: finds a partner that's into really bad shit, say right, yeah,
- 52:37Speaker 2: and just goes along with that.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 52:39Speaker 2: So I don't know. I just think that's not enough time.
- 52:42Speaker 1: But well a lot of people agree with you. A
- 52:45Speaker 1: lot of people agree with you, So so we're gonna
- 52:51Speaker 1: move on to a bit of Peyton here.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 52:55Speaker 1: So Peyton has made a full recovery since her attack,
- 52:58Speaker 1: though she said she still wary of making new friends
- 53:01Speaker 1: and has trouble sleeping. Man can imagine, right, and she
- 53:05Speaker 1: had trouble sleeping alone for the longest time. So at nineteen,
- 53:09Speaker 1: she is expected to be in university. Inspired by what
- 53:12Speaker 1: happened to her at the age of twelve, she wants
- 53:15Speaker 1: to pursue a career, a career in the medical field.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Nice Peyton has also made it clear that she never
- 53:22Speaker 1: wants to see her attackers ever again, but she has
- 53:25Speaker 1: actually thanked Morgan, saying this is a quote from her
- 53:31Speaker 1: just because of what she did. I have the life
- 53:34Speaker 1: I have now, I really like it, and I have
- 53:37Speaker 1: a plan. I didn't have a plan when I was twelve,
- 53:40Speaker 1: and now I do because everything that I went through.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Oh that give me goosebumps, Like, holy fuck, it takes
- 53:48Speaker 2: amazing Hey, and now she's probably going to be a
- 53:50Speaker 2: doctor or something.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yeah, definite badass of the day totally.
- 53:55Speaker 2: But I also wonder how this is affecting her with
- 53:57Speaker 2: that one person being released.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Now, Yeah, I imagine not too great. Yeah, the last
- 54:02Speaker 1: statement she gave were actually in twenty twenty. So yeah,
- 54:05Speaker 1: though I believe there are some statements out there from
- 54:07Speaker 1: her family on a Nissa being released. But I didn't
- 54:10Speaker 1: want to get too much onto that. If you want
- 54:12Speaker 1: to look it up, feel free totally. Uh so continue
- 54:15Speaker 1: to continue her absolute badassery. She went on to say,
- 54:20Speaker 1: I've come to accept all my scars that I have.
- 54:23Speaker 1: It's just a part of me. I don't think much
- 54:25Speaker 1: of them. They will probably go away and fade eventually.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I didn't even think of that. She'd probably
- 54:31Speaker 2: had some gnarly.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Scars going on it most likely.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Wow, but that would just like really, I mean, you'd
- 54:38Speaker 2: have to do some work and stuff, but imagine like
- 54:40Speaker 2: looking at yourself or whatever and seeing all those and
- 54:42Speaker 2: like that you survived. Like just wow, I'm freaking amazing.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Like eventually you'd have to get to that point, because that's.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Incredible, and I think Peyton is absolutely amazing. Yeah yeah,
- 54:53Speaker 1: so good on you, Peyton for being absolutely amazing. And
- 54:58Speaker 1: holy shit, that was one hell of a story to research.
- 55:02Speaker 2: That's wild.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I've heard of this story a few times before researching,
- 55:05Speaker 1: but getting into some of the psychology of it, I
- 55:07Speaker 1: had no idea of the schizophrenic tendencies of Morgan, nothing
- 55:11Speaker 1: like that.
- 55:11Speaker 2: So I wonder how she's how she's doing though, Actually,
- 55:14Speaker 2: you know, it'd be interesting to just see how she's doing.
- 55:18Speaker 1: I would imagine now that she's diagnosed medication medication, having
- 55:24Speaker 1: a psychiatrist with her working on it, she's probably doing
- 55:27Speaker 1: a lot better.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Oh, I can imagine. I'm just curious how if the
- 55:31Speaker 2: remorse has come back, you know, or not back, but
- 55:33Speaker 2: if she now feels the remorse knowing what she did
- 55:36Speaker 2: in that state sort of thing.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I I would probably guess she does feel remorse for it. Yeah,
- 55:41Speaker 1: because I mean, her intentions were to do good and
- 55:46Speaker 1: there was one thing. Oh, actually a couple of things
- 55:48Speaker 1: that I wanted to talk about here that I didn't
- 55:49Speaker 1: have a note. I guess Morgan, when doing the stabbing,
- 55:55Speaker 1: was whispering into Peyton's ear, I'm so sorry while she
- 55:59Speaker 1: was doing it.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Well, okay, so.
- 56:02Speaker 1: She clearly did not want to do it. She was
- 56:05Speaker 1: clearly doing it to preserve herself and her family. Yeah,
- 56:09Speaker 1: so had that good intention, good motive.
- 56:12Speaker 2: And outside of her family, she didn't really have any
- 56:16Speaker 2: friends or loved ones. Yeah right, so had to almost
- 56:19Speaker 2: be Peyton.
- 56:20Speaker 1: So now that she knows that there was nothing there
- 56:24Speaker 1: for her to know reasons for that to happen, I'm
- 56:26Speaker 1: sure she's feeling remorse for what she did to her
- 56:28Speaker 1: best friend. Yeah, and then one other thing I wanted
- 56:32Speaker 1: to touch on actually after the incident, before Peyton returned
- 56:35Speaker 1: to school, classmates and everyone had heard of this incident
- 56:39Speaker 1: clearly and knowing Peyton that she was a social butterfly.
- 56:43Speaker 1: She have whiskers painted on her face or back of
- 56:46Speaker 1: her hand lots, she loved cats. Right, the school was
- 56:50Speaker 1: going to on the day she returned, everyone was going
- 56:52Speaker 1: to paint whiskers on their face for her.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, are you serious.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Which totally good intentions. However, the teachers quickly shut that
- 57:00Speaker 1: down rightfully, so after Morgan was saying, don't be afraid,
- 57:05Speaker 1: I'm just a little kitty cat.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Oh okay, so that could have honestly actually terrified her.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Yeah, so your intentions were totally good, totally great idea. However, yes,
- 57:14Speaker 1: the kids do not know what Morgan said and the
- 57:18Speaker 1: implementation that could have on recovering.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I see the intention, and I forgot about
- 57:26Speaker 2: what she said because that would have been adorable. But yeah,
- 57:28Speaker 2: that's fair.
- 57:30Speaker 1: So that is the case of Peyton and the slender
- 57:33Speaker 1: men stabbings.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Wild. That's wild.
- 57:38Speaker 1: So we're going to get in some creepy ass fucking
- 57:40Speaker 1: weird cases like this for the rest of October and
- 57:44Speaker 1: of course Halloween week hitting upset.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, that's going to be so fun.
