- 0:01Speaker 1: Well, here he is, ladies and gentlemen, he stepped into
- 0:03Speaker 1: the studio. It's a JD. He's got his tech talk
- 0:07Speaker 1: for us today. Games are there, so a bunch of
- 0:09Speaker 1: games today. Just a couple, just a couple. They're good.
- 0:12Speaker 1: JD is also the one of the hosts of the
- 0:14Speaker 1: three Big Gamer Show, which is a podcast you can
- 0:17Speaker 1: find every Tuesday, new episodes every Tuesday. Yep, and an
- 0:21Speaker 1: he makes cookies. Yeah, all of it. All right, what
- 0:24Speaker 1: do you got for us? So?
- 0:26Speaker 2: First up, this one is probably the one that's gonna
- 0:28Speaker 2: appear on everyone's radar this month. This is the Oblivion
- 0:32Speaker 2: the Elder Scrolls for Oblivion remastered. If you guys are
- 0:36Speaker 2: familiar with Skyrim, Skrim's part of a series called the
- 0:39Speaker 2: Elder Scrolls, and this was the Skyrim was the fifth one.
- 0:42Speaker 2: This is the fourth one came out in two thousand
- 0:44Speaker 2: and six. It didn't receive quite the acclaim that Skyrim did,
- 0:47Speaker 2: but it's still an awesome game. It's the same, very
- 0:50Speaker 2: similar gameplay. You're it's a high fantasy world and it's
- 0:54Speaker 2: a first person thing. So you're walking and you see
- 0:56Speaker 2: your sword in front of you, and you have magic
- 0:59Speaker 2: and and bow and arrow and just everything that you
- 1:02Speaker 2: might expect in like a you know, a high fantasy
- 1:04Speaker 2: epic movie, and you're just fighting monsters in this one.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Back in the day, you were going to the realm,
- 1:13Speaker 2: the nether Realm of Oblivion, which is essentially like whatever
- 1:16Speaker 2: fantasy hell. I guess, all these gates open up across
- 1:19Speaker 2: this continent and you are figuring trying to figure out
- 1:23Speaker 2: why you're going into the gates, fighting demons coming out
- 1:25Speaker 2: of the gates, dealing with politically intrigue on the continent.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I mean, it was an awesome game in two thousand
- 1:32Speaker 2: and six, and what they have done is completely overhauled it,
- 1:36Speaker 2: remastered it. I mean that was like two consoles again
- 1:38Speaker 2: is the Xbox three sixty and the PS three, and
- 1:41Speaker 2: now it's been optimized for modern consoles. It's out and
- 1:44Speaker 2: now on Xbox PlayStation and PC if you have Xbox
- 1:47Speaker 2: Game Pass, it's free.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Oh okay, there you go. So did they improve the graphics.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, graphics were overhauled. There's a lot of other
- 1:55Speaker 2: like gameplay things that they've improved. This is not necessarily
- 1:59Speaker 2: just like a new shiny coat of paint. They have
- 2:02Speaker 2: definitely worked under the hood to improve this game from
- 2:05Speaker 2: what it was in two thousand and six. It's absolutely
- 2:07Speaker 2: kind of a modern take. Again, this isn't the epic,
- 2:13Speaker 2: incredible game that Skyrim was, but it's still awesome. And
- 2:18Speaker 2: if you are kind of looking for a Skyrim fix
- 2:20Speaker 2: or kind of a Fantasy fix, you could do much
- 2:22Speaker 2: worse than the Elder Scrolls four of Living remastered. Look
- 2:27Speaker 2: it's dope. Yeah, no, this is a must play if
- 2:30Speaker 2: you liked Skyrim basically. And then this next one, on
- 2:33Speaker 2: a completely other side, is called and this one is
- 2:36Speaker 2: trending quite a bit.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It is called Schedule one.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Seen it's a lot on streaming TikTok stuff like that.
- 2:44Speaker 2: This is a drug empire simulator. Okay, you start out
- 2:49Speaker 2: with an RV and you build a drug empire. Basically,
- 2:52Speaker 2: it's breaking yeah, exactly, it's breaking bad the video game.
- 2:57Speaker 2: It's a management sim So I've kind of discussed these
- 3:00Speaker 2: types of games before. You may have seen like kind
- 3:02Speaker 2: of think like Stardoo Valley even in a small way
- 3:05Speaker 2: up Minecraft kind of fits this bill.
- 3:07Speaker 3: But you start for your young entrepreneurs exactly.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You get a practice growing and selling weed and you know,
- 3:14Speaker 2: maintaining a customer base and being a responsive dealer.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Can teach you a lot of things. Or when you
- 3:20Speaker 3: go out and do it.
- 3:21Speaker 2: For real, Yeah, exactly, you're prepared when you hit the
- 3:24Speaker 2: job for us at sixteen. So the idea here is
- 3:27Speaker 2: that you start with, like I said, like an RV.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Eventually you get into a motel and you're just setting
- 3:33Speaker 2: up at first to grow up because and then you're
- 3:35Speaker 2: just running around the city. You have customers that are
- 3:39Speaker 2: texting you and you just deliver them weed or whatever.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Very simple.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Is it dangerous?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Well no, but you get into dangerous well if the
- 3:47Speaker 2: cops see you, see you're avoiding cops, And eventually you
- 3:51Speaker 2: get into meth and we blew up our apartment twice,
- 3:54Speaker 2: which is very realistic when you start cooking meth.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I should I should just start years old.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Enough, you know. Yeah, that's a good age.
- 4:03Speaker 4: All the backgrounds and everything look real except for the people.
- 4:06Speaker 3: The people are very goofy.
- 4:07Speaker 4: It's very cartoony, very cartoony, and I'm sure that's my design.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely so.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I just I spend most of my days on a
- 4:14Speaker 2: skateboard just delivering product. I play with three other people
- 4:17Speaker 2: and two of them just stay in the apartment doing
- 4:19Speaker 2: drugs and making drugs because if you do the drugs,
- 4:23Speaker 2: you get to test the effects.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Some of them make you like jump high or something.
- 4:25Speaker 2: But sometimes I just wander into the apartment and they're
- 4:27Speaker 2: just sitting their eyes are all bugged out and red.
- 4:29Speaker 2: That's helpful when you're selling it, to let people know
- 4:32Speaker 2: what I can expect.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah, they also try from your supply.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, so this is it's only on PC.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's in early access, so you have to have a
- 4:41Speaker 2: PC to play this, but I do think it will
- 4:43Speaker 2: probably be rolling out on consoles soon. Keep your eyes
- 4:45Speaker 2: out for this one. It's just silly fun. It's it's
- 4:48Speaker 2: just goofy. I remember playing a game called drug Wars
- 4:50Speaker 2: on my old grafting calculator in high school.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the chat room was talking about that.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the upgraded version of that. This is
- 4:58Speaker 2: what we grew into get. So that's called Schedule one.
- 5:02Speaker 2: If you if you can't know, if you can't play,
- 5:03Speaker 2: you should at LEAs watch people play it because it's hilarious.
- 5:06Speaker 3: A couple goofy things.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Well, this actually isn't goofy, And in fact, I have
- 5:10Speaker 2: to kind of offer a mea colpa that I haven't
- 5:12Speaker 2: brought this up sooner. I can't believe I haven't mentioned this.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Uh.
- 5:15Speaker 2: This is temp dashmail dot org. And it is essentially
- 5:20Speaker 2: a burner email. So once you get your drug business
- 5:23Speaker 2: going on.
- 5:24Speaker 5: And it's on theme this week, this you basically just
- 5:30Speaker 5: it makes us a one time email address for you
- 5:33Speaker 5: and you've got your inbox there.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So if you ever have to sign up for like
- 5:36Speaker 3: a subscription, which I hate. I hate getting all the
- 5:39Speaker 3: spam from.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Right and it's just I only need your email address
- 5:42Speaker 2: for one second. You're like, well, who are you gonna
- 5:43Speaker 2: sell it to? This creates a dummy email address, and
- 5:47Speaker 2: I tested it. I sent an email to this address
- 5:49Speaker 2: and you hit refreshment, it pops up in the inbox.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So and it'll it'll just poof, It'll just go away
- 5:56Speaker 2: once you're done with it.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I am not a crack put yea burner.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So it is again X ninety six dot com will
- 6:02Speaker 2: have the Lincoln's Temp dashmail dot org. Though, I mean,
- 6:05Speaker 2: this thing is this is probably the most I would
- 6:07Speaker 2: say the most useful thing I've ever brought to this show. Okay,
- 6:10Speaker 2: I just think, oh, I don't know, the thing is Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you're right.
- 6:14Speaker 3: The next thing, one million monkeys Monkeys.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Dot zip has a display of a million monkeys typing
- 6:21Speaker 2: on a on on typewriters.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Are the Great America Shakespeare.
- 6:26Speaker 4: They're working on it well, and you you tap on
- 6:28Speaker 4: one of the monkeys, and it'll give you a choice
- 6:31Speaker 4: of words, and it'll tell you whether those words have
- 6:35Speaker 4: ever appeared at a Shakespeare play.
- 6:37Speaker 2: M hmm, and then it'll, if you want it to,
- 6:40Speaker 2: it'll assemble their words into some semblance of a sentence,
- 6:43Speaker 2: which is usually not great. They're monkeys, yeah, gotta give
- 6:47Speaker 2: them a break.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And then monkeys were at a space helmet.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's just so so like you could just lose hours
- 6:53Speaker 2: just scrolling through because you can just like go through
- 6:56Speaker 2: because they're they're they're in a big grid and they're
- 6:58Speaker 2: all typing, so you can just like go find one
- 7:00Speaker 2: at random and see what they're typing.
- 7:02Speaker 3: You can put a cowboy hat on them. Monkeys dot zip.
- 7:05Speaker 3: It is absolutely goofy.
- 7:06Speaker 2: But hey, it gets goofy here because I found a
- 7:10Speaker 2: website that includes a fully functioning Nokia thirty two fifty.
- 7:16Speaker 2: This is not even like I think, a very popular
- 7:18Speaker 2: Nokia phone. This isn't the one that you're thinking of,
- 7:21Speaker 2: like the brick phone. Yeah, but it is the neatest
- 7:24Speaker 2: thing because the first thing I would do, if you
- 7:26Speaker 2: guys are looking at it is make sure to turn
- 7:28Speaker 2: on the power button on the top. You'll hold that
- 7:30Speaker 2: down and it boots up exactly like an old, an
- 7:35Speaker 2: old Nokia phone. The most insane part about this is
- 7:39Speaker 2: obviously it's not connected to the Internet or whatever, but
- 7:42Speaker 2: the whole functionality of the menu remains inside the phone,
- 7:46Speaker 2: and you can even if you're using it and carry
- 7:48Speaker 2: you're on your your iPad, it can use your iPad's
- 7:51Speaker 2: camera within the if you open the camera and so
- 7:55Speaker 2: you can actually like take old school cell phone camera pictures.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah. So you just boot it up.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And some people out there just heard that. They're like,
- 8:04Speaker 2: oh my gosh, my Nokia. I just heard it on
- 8:05Speaker 2: you guys, remember that little jingle. But it is such
- 8:10Speaker 2: a trip. It's it's just, I mean, it's weird and
- 8:14Speaker 2: it's like the old the old input where it's like
- 8:17Speaker 2: kind of that little nub, the directional nub, Yeah, is
- 8:21Speaker 2: what you'll use and you kind of get well once
- 8:23Speaker 2: you once I got back into the groove of using
- 8:25Speaker 2: a phone, because this is. I mean, I cut my
- 8:27Speaker 2: teeth on phones like this, not these smartphones. And I
- 8:30Speaker 2: was like, oh yeah, actual, but is what it used
- 8:33Speaker 2: to be? Like it's cheah. There's a link for this.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I won't read it again. You'll have to go to
- 8:38Speaker 2: X ninety six dot com to get the link. But yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 2: if you guys, if you had this phone, absolutely you
- 8:44Speaker 2: got to check this out.
- 8:45Speaker 3: The thirty two fifty.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Uh.
- 8:46Speaker 3: But the nostalgia. Yeah, if you remember these old phones, yep, yep, classic.
- 8:52Speaker 2: You have to charge it hide hope not probably every
- 8:56Speaker 2: two days.
- 8:57Speaker 3: That's what the old phones used to be. Like, Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 3: there we go, JD.
- 9:02Speaker 1: And you can find all of those at X ninety
- 9:04Speaker 1: six dot com.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Sweet flash, hold just X ninety six dot com. Does
- 9:08Speaker 3: Does it have snake? Is the question? It probably deep enough.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It's really in there somewhere. Go in there and play
- 9:14Speaker 3: with it.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Lang let us know.
- 9:16Speaker 3: All right, Thank you, thanks guys,
