Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Almost Famous podcast with iHeartRadio Almost Famous crew.
- 0:07Speaker 1: It is producer Heather. We are still in Tahoe at
- 0:12Speaker 1: our annual pickleball event that spoiler Trista has won again two.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Years in a row.
- 0:20Speaker 3: And Jessica Canyon with Bob's wife Jessica because he's the
- 0:25Speaker 3: girls rule and boys drool. And in the middle of
- 0:29Speaker 3: the game, the guys are playing and they had they
- 0:32Speaker 3: hit a really great shot and they were like Nan,
- 0:36Speaker 3: and we were like, I'm sorry, and we showed them.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I love I love it. We will be posting pics
- 0:43Speaker 1: on our socials. Obviously, this has been such a fun
- 0:46Speaker 1: trip and as we're winding things up here in Tahoe,
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm sitting here with some of our favorites. I've got Joan,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I've got Trista, and I've got Courtney here, all extra
- 1:00Speaker 1: extremely strong women that we've all gotten to know and
- 1:03Speaker 1: love in Bachelor Nation. And it's not a secret that
- 1:10Speaker 1: there's also been tension with some of us in this room.
- 1:16Speaker 1: And today we're going to do something different and maybe
- 1:20Speaker 1: clear some air, say our feelings, maybe come to some resolution.
- 1:27Speaker 1: That's the goal. Anyways, that's my goal. Did you know
- 1:31Speaker 1: that did you know that this is the most dramatic podcast,
- 1:36Speaker 1: but I will but I do want to start.
- 1:41Speaker 2: As Joan tries to.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Make a run for the exit just now, I want
- 1:48Speaker 1: to I'm going to just go for the low hanging fruit,
- 1:50Speaker 1: and I'm going to start with Joan and Courtney because
- 1:53Speaker 1: we saw it play out not too long ago on
- 1:55Speaker 1: HGTV Bachelor Mansion Takeover that there was tension and you
- 2:00Speaker 1: guys were For anybody who didn't watch, I'll just recap
- 2:03Speaker 1: briefly that you guys were teammates and you did You
- 2:08Speaker 1: did every challenge together, and you want a lot of
- 2:11Speaker 1: challenges together. Courtney also went and did things her own way,
- 2:17Speaker 1: which also got her recognition by the judges and also
- 2:21Speaker 1: got her you know, I want to get into it.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I want to get into it because I watched it
- 2:29Speaker 1: play out and I wondered, is it tension from the environment?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Is it tension because even though we're teammates, only one
- 2:37Speaker 1: of us can win. So whoever wants to start, why
- 2:41Speaker 1: don't you tell me about what your experience was working
- 2:45Speaker 1: together on the show.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Hello, it's me.
- 2:47Speaker 5: It's Courtney Robertson here, and I'm really happy to be
- 2:51Speaker 5: doing this. I think this will be therapeutic. Obviously, I've
- 2:54Speaker 5: been making some headlines lately. I've been going through a
- 2:57Speaker 5: lot personally in my personal life, so talking about Bachelor
- 3:00Speaker 5: Mansion Takeover, I haven't done reality TV since I was
- 3:04Speaker 5: on it when I was twenty eight.
- 3:06Speaker 4: I'm forty three. You do the math.
- 3:08Speaker 5: I was so excited to see Joan when we got there.
- 3:12Speaker 5: I love Joan and I've listened to her podcast talking
- 3:15Speaker 5: about the experience and she said something that hurt me.
- 3:18Speaker 4: That was like, I just don't think she liked me.
- 3:20Speaker 4: That is not true.
- 3:21Speaker 5: I love you and I felt very very close with you,
- 3:25Speaker 5: very very quickly. And I think that the show's format,
- 3:28Speaker 5: I don't think it's never been done, and I think
- 3:31Speaker 5: it's a competition show. We would walk in the morning together,
- 3:35Speaker 5: we would have dinner at night together. And on top
- 3:39Speaker 5: of that, in my personal life, I opened up to
- 3:41Speaker 5: you about what I was dealing with. I was under
- 3:43Speaker 5: extreme pressure dealing with what is now happening my divorce.
- 3:50Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean, I do probably owe you an apology,
- 3:52Speaker 5: and I hope you accept that. I you know, I
- 3:56Speaker 5: haven't filmed in a long time, and the thing that
- 3:58Speaker 5: I'm looking at you Trista and we have some stuff
- 4:00Speaker 5: to talk about too. And you, like, you guys had
- 4:04Speaker 5: such a different experience than I did. When I was
- 4:06Speaker 5: on The Bachelor. I was the villain and I was
- 4:09Speaker 5: twenty eight, and you guys were the stars of the show.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:13Speaker 5: I think, in my opinion, you guys both have had
- 4:15Speaker 5: amazing edits. Right, You're beloved, you're the fairy godmother Joan
- 4:21Speaker 5: as well, you're with Chalk. You guys are both examples
- 4:24Speaker 5: of success stories. But my experience was so different because
- 4:29Speaker 5: I was the villain. Unfortunately, I am a little bit
- 4:32Speaker 5: tough when I do speak my mind, but it.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Doesn't always play out well.
- 4:38Speaker 5: What I experienced with Joan is we got so close,
- 4:40Speaker 5: so close to where it was like, oh my god,
- 4:42Speaker 5: I need space. Like the days were long. We filmed
- 4:44Speaker 5: from like seven to seven, and I heard that.
- 4:47Speaker 1: That was awful, that it was like a long days
- 4:51Speaker 1: and lots of work and.
- 4:52Speaker 6: Very messy and hot. We were outside a lot, We
- 4:55Speaker 6: got very little breaks.
- 4:56Speaker 7: It was a lot.
- 4:58Speaker 4: It was.
- 4:58Speaker 5: It wasn't really grumpy. I just I have my own
- 5:00Speaker 5: stuff going on. But like I haven't filmed in so long,
- 5:04Speaker 5: and like Joon's just coming off of her season, like
- 5:07Speaker 5: she's an expert, she hits all of our marks, you know,
- 5:10Speaker 5: but like HTTV And then it was like, oh my god,
- 5:12Speaker 5: we have to eliminate somebody right now. And I truthfully
- 5:15Speaker 5: really did want to win the money, but I also
- 5:17Speaker 5: just looked at it as like an amazing opportunity to
- 5:21Speaker 5: kind of redeem myself in a way. I was so
- 5:23Speaker 5: honored to have that opportunity. So yeah, I guess you know,
- 5:27Speaker 5: obviously I'm sorry. I think you know, going into it,
- 5:31Speaker 5: I didn't want to have the same edit that I
- 5:33Speaker 5: had the last time around. Right, I'm older, I'm wiser,
- 5:38Speaker 5: and truthfully, there were producers pulling me aside, saying things
- 5:42Speaker 5: to me, and it worked like this is what's been
- 5:45Speaker 5: what they do, this is what's been said. Pull your
- 5:47Speaker 5: mic out, get the notes out, writing Oh they just
- 5:50Speaker 5: said this about you, that about you.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Do you feel.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Comfortable to say what kind of things that they were saying.
- 5:57Speaker 5: I mean, I've already talked to Joan, I've been meaning
- 5:59Speaker 5: to call I've just been in the I'm in the
- 6:01Speaker 5: trenches right now, Like honestly, like it's so washed out
- 6:04Speaker 5: to see to me, like, you know, I didn't want
- 6:07Speaker 5: your experience to be tainted by mine, and it did
- 6:12Speaker 5: play out. I was It hurt me to see the
- 6:14Speaker 5: way it played out, but I also wasn't surprised because
- 6:17Speaker 5: of what they were saying. It was just like, oh,
- 6:20Speaker 5: she just formed an alliance against you with Alicia, and
- 6:24Speaker 5: you know, Alicia wasn't very kind to me.
- 6:25Speaker 6: You know, I agree with ninety ninety percent of the
- 6:39Speaker 6: stuff that you just said that we were really close.
- 6:40Speaker 7: We walked in the morning.
- 6:42Speaker 6: I felt like you were my good friend. I felt like,
- 6:44Speaker 6: of all the people, I knew you the best Alicia,
- 6:48Speaker 6: I never formed an alliance and I don't know. And
- 6:53Speaker 6: so when I came on the show, I thought we
- 6:54Speaker 6: were there it was a design show. I thought this
- 6:57Speaker 6: was an HGTV show. So it happened to be with
- 7:00Speaker 6: contestants from the Bachelor and in the Bachelor mansion. That
- 7:02Speaker 6: was like a fun twist to it. That's not what
- 7:05Speaker 6: it was. It was an hu TV show with like
- 7:08Speaker 6: a whole backdrop of Bachelor tension, and it was like
- 7:12Speaker 6: a survivors show. And they were they said on multiple occasions,
- 7:17Speaker 6: just would walk in and he would talk about forming
- 7:19Speaker 6: alliances and making sure you have your you know, ducks
- 7:23Speaker 6: in a row with people, and they wanted you to
- 7:26Speaker 6: do that. I never formed an alliance with Alicia. You
- 7:29Speaker 6: can nash Alicia, you can ask. I think that the
- 7:32Speaker 6: producers were doing what the producers do. They were Bachelor press.
- 7:35Speaker 5: I'm also very susceptible to that it worked before me
- 7:40Speaker 5: and I was just so weary of sorry to step
- 7:44Speaker 5: on you. But I also am a person that my
- 7:47Speaker 5: social batteries get really great. You guys have seen me
- 7:49Speaker 5: this weekend. I'm dealing with a lot of personal stuff
- 7:52Speaker 5: and I just get chit chatted out and we were
- 7:55Speaker 5: so close, like I just needed space to like, yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 5: I feel like that my and I didn't mean to
- 8:00Speaker 5: pull away from you, but it was like, well we.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Had one day that you pulled away that really hurt
- 8:04Speaker 6: my feelings and I'm just going to say it out.
- 8:05Speaker 6: And I would have never said this unless we had
- 8:08Speaker 6: this going on. It would have never approached you with this.
- 8:09Speaker 6: I would have just held it in. But we were
- 8:11Speaker 6: supposed to get we were supposed to spend the day together.
- 8:14Speaker 7: It was a Saturday that we had off. I need friends.
- 8:17Speaker 4: We only had one day off a week we had I.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Know we hadn't had much time, and I have friends
- 8:21Speaker 6: in LA that I could have gotten together with, but
- 8:22Speaker 6: you and I had made plans, and I remember I
- 8:24Speaker 6: texted you in them when I said, Hey, do you
- 8:25Speaker 6: want to walk? You never texted me back, and I
- 8:27Speaker 6: was like, oh, I sleeping. So then I walked by myself.
- 8:30Speaker 6: And then a couple hours later I went out to
- 8:32Speaker 6: the pool and I texted you and I said, hey,
- 8:34Speaker 6: I'm at the pool.
- 8:35Speaker 4: We laid out at the pool together.
- 8:36Speaker 6: I had done that a bunch of times or a
- 8:38Speaker 6: couple of times, and then you didn't respond, and then
- 8:41Speaker 6: you didn't respond till really late at night. So I
- 8:44Speaker 6: spent my whole day like waiting for you, and I
- 8:48Speaker 6: was all by myself.
- 8:49Speaker 7: All the guys went off and did some sports.
- 8:51Speaker 6: God the guys Me went home, Alicia went home, Drol
- 8:56Speaker 6: was off doing other people that have been eliminated. I
- 8:58Speaker 6: was all by myself the whole day at the hotel,
- 9:01Speaker 6: and I felt like I felt really abandoned.
- 9:04Speaker 7: And if you had just said, hey, I.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Need a personal day.
- 9:07Speaker 6: I know if you had just told me that, I
- 9:08Speaker 6: would have been like, of course, and I would have
- 9:09Speaker 6: called one of my friends and gone done to something else.
- 9:12Speaker 7: I spent the whole day waiting for you.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Oh I wish you would have texted me again.
- 9:15Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I s took you twice a day.
- 9:16Speaker 4: I took an uber. I just needed to like D
- 9:18Speaker 4: and D like.
- 9:19Speaker 5: It's so over stimulating when you're you know, filming all day,
- 9:23Speaker 5: and that's just like I also have three little kids.
- 9:27Speaker 5: I get over stimulated, you know. I constantly like trying
- 9:31Speaker 5: to carve out time. So I literally just went with friends.
- 9:33Speaker 5: We didn't even talk, and I just laid on the
- 9:35Speaker 5: beach and I wanted to see. That was the only
- 9:37Speaker 5: time I went to the beach. We had one day off.
- 9:39Speaker 5: And I'm sorry. It wasn't personal. It was just if
- 9:42Speaker 5: I needed to detach.
- 9:43Speaker 4: From what we were doing, just to get back to
- 9:47Speaker 4: a base level for me.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:49Speaker 5: So I'm sorry that hurt you. And I would have
- 9:52Speaker 5: invited you, but I don't know if you would have.
- 9:54Speaker 4: You know, I just didn't. I could talk about it if.
- 9:56Speaker 6: You needed a break, and you probably needed a break
- 9:58Speaker 6: from me too, and that was fine, and I would.
- 10:00Speaker 5: I mean as it was, but I just which I
- 10:02Speaker 5: had known, Yeah, well we were going to go eat
- 10:04Speaker 5: with Carrie Fetman.
- 10:06Speaker 4: But you could have called carry you know.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I mean that I kept waiting for you, not knowing
- 10:10Speaker 5: that I said, I'm at the beach with friends, but
- 10:12Speaker 5: not untill.
- 10:13Speaker 7: Like six o'clock at night. Oh okay, it was really
- 10:15Speaker 7: late when you finally said that.
- 10:16Speaker 4: I had planning on my part.
- 10:18Speaker 6: It's and it's fine, Like I mean, I'm a big girl.
- 10:20Speaker 7: I had a book.
- 10:20Speaker 6: I sat by the pool and I read my book,
- 10:22Speaker 6: and I ordered dinner and whatever.
- 10:23Speaker 7: It was fine. It's not the end of the world.
- 10:25Speaker 7: But I did that.
- 10:26Speaker 6: I did think that we had a good friendship, and
- 10:29Speaker 6: I was surprised when like you.
- 10:30Speaker 7: Completely just blew me off that day.
- 10:32Speaker 6: And the only other thing I want to say is
- 10:35Speaker 6: my reputation is really important to me. And when my
- 10:39Speaker 6: daughters were growing up, I was a big advocate of
- 10:43Speaker 6: anti bullying and being inclusive.
- 10:46Speaker 7: I taught it to my daughters.
- 10:48Speaker 6: I was involved with the school when there were incidents
- 10:50Speaker 6: where people weren't and I felt like I was accused
- 10:55Speaker 6: of form an alliance bullying. You said on a podcast
- 11:00Speaker 6: that the producers didn't like me. I never had any
- 11:06Speaker 6: bad word. Yeah, you said the producers that producers said
- 11:11Speaker 6: told you that.
- 11:11Speaker 7: They didn't like me. You said on a podcast.
- 11:13Speaker 5: When and where that was, I would want to hear that.
- 11:16Speaker 5: I don't think I said that, But to be quite
- 11:18Speaker 5: honest with you, the Arches or a lot like and
- 11:22Speaker 5: even Kathy when you went on Kathy's like, oh my god,
- 11:25Speaker 5: and we're like Joan of arc or whatever, like to me,
- 11:29Speaker 5: it's not the second Coming of Christ.
- 11:32Speaker 4: But I'm sorry if you felt that way.
- 11:34Speaker 5: But when I watched the show back and when they
- 11:35Speaker 5: told me and I saw you say like, oh, she
- 11:37Speaker 5: plays the mom card and this.
- 11:39Speaker 4: And that, like that hurt my feelings.
- 11:41Speaker 5: I am a mom of three little kids and I'm
- 11:43Speaker 5: dealing with a husband who's been cheating on me.
- 11:45Speaker 7: And I knew about that nice seven years.
- 11:47Speaker 6: But again, like it was like a producer thing that
- 11:49Speaker 6: you know, they poke and pokey pokey until you say
- 11:52Speaker 6: something that they want you to say.
- 11:54Speaker 4: And you know, I didn't think that they would do that.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I didn't know how it was going to air.
- 11:57Speaker 6: They were doing that to me in ims definitely like
- 12:00Speaker 6: what do you think about Courtney and at Lashow's relationship and.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Say as a viewer, because we did recap every episode
- 12:06Speaker 1: of the show, our biggest problem was that there were
- 12:10Speaker 1: eliminations even involved in this show. We did not like,
- 12:14Speaker 1: We did not like the tension, and we did not
- 12:17Speaker 1: like the vibe of how you guys. We could feel
- 12:21Speaker 1: it through the screen when we were watching it, and
- 12:23Speaker 1: it took away a lot of the joy that you
- 12:25Speaker 1: see on an HGTV show. So I have no doubt
- 12:29Speaker 1: that you were both being poked constantly by producers and
- 12:34Speaker 1: yapped in the years. I think you gotta chalk it
- 12:37Speaker 1: up to the fact that that producers are there to
- 12:42Speaker 1: do a job. And it doesn't mean that any of
- 12:46Speaker 1: you are unintelligent women or you're not pros, because quite frankly,
- 12:51Speaker 1: you're all pros. You've all done your own things outside
- 12:54Speaker 1: of the show. I think that, like Joan alluded to,
- 13:00Speaker 1: they keep going until they get what they need to
- 13:02Speaker 1: get or can fake what they need to get.
- 13:05Speaker 6: Like, yeah, I know, the eye roll had nothing to
- 13:08Speaker 6: do with what you were talking about, so and you
- 13:10Speaker 6: know what, I also felt like I had like I
- 13:13Speaker 6: know you were dealing with your stuff, and I felt
- 13:16Speaker 6: like I needed to be better than everybody else because
- 13:20Speaker 6: they were eliminating Golden's left and right. Two of the
- 13:23Speaker 6: first three that went were the two Goldens that were
- 13:26Speaker 6: with me and I felt really nervous that I was
- 13:29Speaker 6: going to be eliminated. So I felt like I needed
- 13:30Speaker 6: to work double time. I needed to carry more things
- 13:32Speaker 6: up and down steps. I needed to hammer more nails,
- 13:35Speaker 6: I needed to stand more stuff. I needed to do
- 13:37Speaker 6: more than everybody else so I could show that I
- 13:39Speaker 6: could carry my own weight because I was the only
- 13:41Speaker 6: other golden left, and that I actually had to work
- 13:44Speaker 6: harder than everybody else.
- 13:45Speaker 7: So I went home at night. I was so exhausted
- 13:48Speaker 7: and so drained.
- 13:49Speaker 6: And I think as the weeks went on, and I'm
- 13:53Speaker 6: sixty three years old, and I am you know, and
- 13:55Speaker 6: I'm in good shape, and I don't get tired, but
- 13:58Speaker 6: like I felt like I had to work harder than
- 14:00Speaker 6: every young person there, so I didn't get sent home.
- 14:02Speaker 5: Well also to that too, and I tried to talk
- 14:06Speaker 5: to you about that. Is like the producers and like
- 14:09Speaker 5: the HDTV crew people were like basically tipping me off
- 14:12Speaker 5: to try to help the challenges go smoothly, like we
- 14:16Speaker 5: have these things, and I felt like at times like
- 14:19Speaker 5: things were getting harder, like made harder to be, Like
- 14:23Speaker 5: we all wanted to show off our skills and our
- 14:25Speaker 5: choices and our picks, but like one of my best
- 14:29Speaker 5: skill sets is being able to read a room I
- 14:31Speaker 5: modeled for fifteen years and knowing how to keep clients
- 14:34Speaker 5: happy and like the producers of HGTV like I'm sorry,
- 14:38Speaker 5: Like the craftsmen, they were like, this is harder than
- 14:41Speaker 5: it needs to be, Like we have had hours of
- 14:44Speaker 5: design meetings, and I tried to kind of tell you
- 14:46Speaker 5: that I don't know. I can't really speak to that
- 14:49Speaker 5: too much because it's like I'm over it. I'm over
- 14:51Speaker 5: it too, I'm just so over it, like like I
- 14:54Speaker 5: have like some real life going on, like my my
- 14:57Speaker 5: brother in law just got really sick. He's a firefighter,
- 15:00Speaker 5: like I've got some and that like puts things into perspective.
- 15:03Speaker 6: It was such a many thing, and I didn't go
- 15:05Speaker 6: there actually wanting to win. I didn't really care if
- 15:07Speaker 6: I won.
- 15:07Speaker 5: I know you were so great and I would have
- 15:09Speaker 5: never ever voted you out.
- 15:11Speaker 6: Every day I tried to, I offered to stuff eliminate
- 15:13Speaker 6: more than one time. I would have never goted you out.
- 15:16Speaker 5: And Alicia really bothered me. I didn't like the way
- 15:18Speaker 5: she talked to me. I look at how people treat
- 15:21Speaker 5: people when the cameras aren't rolling. And I also had
- 15:24Speaker 5: an alliance with Jill, not Onlionce a friendship. You know.
- 15:27Speaker 5: She's like, here's my lip glass. I just got eliminated, Like,
- 15:30Speaker 5: gave me your spray tan.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Like.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I really loved Jill, but I didn't like the way
- 15:34Speaker 5: Alisha moved and I didn't like the way I saw
- 15:37Speaker 5: her just she was very shaky. We talked about that,
- 15:41Speaker 5: you know, I just I just there's some people you
- 15:44Speaker 5: vibe with, you know.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I think not been eliminations on this show, we
- 15:49Speaker 1: wouldn't be having this conversation right now. I think that
- 15:52Speaker 1: there was unnecessary.
- 15:54Speaker 6: To be honest, I when I got eliminated, I was
- 15:56Speaker 6: so fricking happy to be eliminated that day. I was like,
- 15:59Speaker 6: I am so happy to go home. I was tired
- 16:01Speaker 6: of the drama. I was sired of the heat. I
- 16:04Speaker 6: couldn't get on that plane fast enough. I was so
- 16:06Speaker 6: happy to get the hell out of there.
- 16:17Speaker 1: As we tie this up, because I can tell that
- 16:20Speaker 1: both of you two, it's done, it's squash, it's not there.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'd love for you both to say one thing that
- 16:29Speaker 1: you've learned in being around each other that you admire
- 16:33Speaker 1: or that you appreciate about the other one Oh.
- 16:36Speaker 4: My gosh, this is like a full blown therapy session.
- 16:38Speaker 7: Seriously.
- 16:39Speaker 5: So, I lost my mom about seven years ago, and
- 16:42Speaker 5: I instantly I sometimes naturally gravitate to older women, and
- 16:47Speaker 5: I just so admire how you took the call with
- 16:51Speaker 5: your daughter all the time, and we talked about it
- 16:55Speaker 5: like you've had some real life stuff going on too,
- 16:57Speaker 5: And I just felt very like maternal. You would help
- 17:00Speaker 5: me U sip my dress, or like you bought me
- 17:02Speaker 5: that bag which I brought here, like we bought like
- 17:05Speaker 5: you bought me like matching overalls, brought my makeup bag.
- 17:08Speaker 5: But like for me just being around a very smart
- 17:12Speaker 5: woman who's also been through the bachelor experience, I just felt.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Like a kinship with her. So and she's a lot
- 17:18Speaker 4: of fun and she's a boss, thank you, He's a boss.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Member.
- 17:21Speaker 4: We were going to watch a show one night, but
- 17:22Speaker 4: I just was so tired of the I'm so tired.
- 17:24Speaker 7: I know, I know.
- 17:25Speaker 6: I think the thing that I learned from you was
- 17:28Speaker 6: that that your kids are going to take over your
- 17:32Speaker 6: brain and like you can't leave that at home, and
- 17:38Speaker 6: that you're a really good mom, thank you, hun And
- 17:41Speaker 6: to be a good mom is the best compliment that
- 17:43Speaker 6: you can give anybody, And you suffered every day knowing
- 17:46Speaker 6: that you weren't with your kids, and I knew how
- 17:48Speaker 6: hard that was for you. But you had this bigger
- 17:51Speaker 6: idea in your mind that you were going to be
- 17:52Speaker 6: a better mother if you were a more yourself, yourself
- 17:57Speaker 6: back in trying to.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Find myself back through all of this.
- 18:01Speaker 6: And I admire that you did that, and then you
- 18:03Speaker 6: are still a really good momy.
- 18:05Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 18:06Speaker 5: You know what. They can't take that away from me. Nope,
- 18:09Speaker 5: I would never. I would go to war for my kids,
- 18:12Speaker 5: and I'm at a war right now. I'm going through
- 18:14Speaker 5: a very public divorce and it's the safest, best thing
- 18:17Speaker 5: for my kids. That's all I can say on that.
- 18:21Speaker 1: But that's why this is special and meaningful, because I've
- 18:24Speaker 1: gotten to know you all on different levels, and you're
- 18:28Speaker 1: all so kind and so strong and so open. But
- 18:33Speaker 1: so can anybody. Everybody's got two sides of the coin,
- 18:36Speaker 1: you know, and so but I want to give the
- 18:41Speaker 1: floor to Trista now to talk a little bit, because
- 18:45Speaker 1: I know that this goes back a while, and so Trista,
- 18:52Speaker 1: why don't you tell me and tell Courtney and everybody
- 18:55Speaker 1: from your perspective. Is it a miscommunication or have things
- 19:01Speaker 1: been said that can't be unheard? Where are you at?
- 19:07Speaker 1: I mean before this weekend, I was fine, Like you know,
- 19:10Speaker 1: of course we all. Life moves on and we're not
- 19:12Speaker 1: nobody sitting and stewing. That's not what I'm thinking.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Oh I'm not.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I'm prioritizing my children and my husband and my life
- 19:21Speaker 3: and all of that.
- 19:22Speaker 2: So no matter what, life goes on. Yes, right, So.
- 19:31Speaker 3: I find out I got like it not a tip,
- 19:35Speaker 3: like someone messaged me, if there was even messaging. I
- 19:39Speaker 3: don't even remember how I found this out because it
- 19:41Speaker 3: was so long ago, in twenty fourteen. So her book
- 19:46Speaker 3: comes out, and I heard from someone that I was
- 19:50Speaker 3: in the book, and and then I heard about a
- 19:54Speaker 3: podcast that I don't even know if it's on the
- 19:56Speaker 3: air anymore.
- 19:57Speaker 4: It's Olivia Craates.
- 19:59Speaker 2: No, it was somebody else, Molly maybe.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Oh Molly Shann't. Yeah, I know, yeah, it was a
- 20:06Speaker 4: same thing. Yeah.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Anyway, it's called Please Advice.
- 20:09Speaker 3: And I heard about this and I listened to it,
- 20:16Speaker 3: and then I heard about the book and what was
- 20:20Speaker 3: said on Please Advice was and I actually listened again
- 20:23Speaker 3: to it before this weekend.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I'm surprised it's still out there.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, because it's twenty fourteen. The host of
- 20:31Speaker 3: the show called me a and.
- 20:35Speaker 4: I didn't say that.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I know. I didn't say that.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I said the host of the show, but you laughed
- 20:39Speaker 2: about it. And then.
- 20:44Speaker 3: When I'm uncomfortable, and then there were just things said,
- 20:49Speaker 3: and so I reached out to you.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I got your email all.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Of branch when I have it right here, I do too,
- 20:54Speaker 5: and I replied to you, and you never emailed me back.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I accepted your apology.
- 20:59Speaker 4: I shouldn't have to pologized to you.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I did.
- 21:01Speaker 2: You didn't I need to.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I didn't you also sure it was on that podcast
- 21:05Speaker 5: when you were blasting me on Twitter and wanting him
- 21:09Speaker 5: to pick Lindsay and I'm a mother and I would
- 21:12Speaker 5: stay far away from Vail and you talk to me
- 21:15Speaker 5: about that. Did you also hear in that podcast that
- 21:18Speaker 5: my mom was I did not know when I was
- 21:24Speaker 5: going through that, and your fucking mean tweets, the terrible
- 21:27Speaker 5: tweets was not what I needed.
- 21:29Speaker 4: That wasn't women's empowerment.
- 21:31Speaker 5: So to hear that you got called, I don't owe
- 21:35Speaker 5: you an apology, period. You sent me an olid branch.
- 21:38Speaker 5: It felt very fake, I replied, And then you know what,
- 21:42Speaker 5: when there was a wedding recently, you still take little
- 21:45Speaker 5: jabs at me. I hear everything. There was a who
- 21:48Speaker 5: was it the Golden Bachelor, You did a million podcasts,
- 21:53Speaker 5: which by the way, they're divorced, loved Teresa, and you
- 21:56Speaker 5: said to Leslie Fema, you know, I never understood Courtney Robertson.
- 22:01Speaker 5: She wrote this book and the title was, I didn't
- 22:03Speaker 5: come here to make friends.
- 22:04Speaker 2: That was not a job at a job at you.
- 22:06Speaker 2: That was a job at that quote.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Because it book title, I understand, and it's also a
- 22:12Speaker 3: quote that everyone in Bachelor Nation.
- 22:14Speaker 4: You make these.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Little jabs like I never understood Courtney Robertson. It's the
- 22:18Speaker 5: one of the most common.
- 22:20Speaker 4: It's a joke.
- 22:21Speaker 3: To me.
- 22:21Speaker 2: It's not a joke because I didn't come.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Here to have millions of friends from the show.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Clearly, I didn't come here to make friends.
- 22:28Speaker 3: In my mind, for all of the people that do
- 22:31Speaker 3: truly like go on the show to make friends, because
- 22:35Speaker 3: a lot of us, I feel like you would say
- 22:37Speaker 3: the same thing. That's not true. I've never said that.
- 22:41Speaker 3: I said, I have never understood the I didn't come
- 22:45Speaker 3: here to make friends sentiment.
- 22:46Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Well, okay, so everybody's sense of humor is different.
- 22:51Speaker 7: I want you.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you to maybe uncross your arms
- 22:54Speaker 1: because open body language is so much better in conversation.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I love it, and we're getting it out. I've met
- 23:02Speaker 5: a lot of people in Bachelor Nation. When I came
- 23:04Speaker 5: off my season and I went to that Bachelor Mansion
- 23:07Speaker 5: event in Malibu, Sean Low, they were just about to
- 23:10Speaker 5: announce him, Gillian Harris. So many people reach out to
- 23:13Speaker 5: me to support me. You didn't give me the fucking
- 23:15Speaker 5: time of day. Chris Harrison was there, and you treated
- 23:17Speaker 5: me like scum.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I literally do you said that? And I didn't treat
- 23:22Speaker 3: you like scum? You said I. I don't remember that.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I don't remember that you even being there. Honestly, I don't.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I don't think anybody's asking for an apology. I think
- 23:33Speaker 3: what's happening right now is everybody just wants to say
- 23:36Speaker 3: their peace and I but I will say this, but
- 23:42Speaker 3: you're talking about an event at the Bachelor Mansion, right
- 23:45Speaker 3: and she's saying she doesn't remember this interaction. So you're
- 23:49Speaker 3: saying that, Gillian Harris badmouthed me. So now you're bad
- 23:52Speaker 3: mouthing me and saying that other people.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. And you know what I did.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I re didn't let me speak, so I let you speak,
- 24:02Speaker 3: So could I please be able to speak?
- 24:04Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 24:06Speaker 3: I sent you an email when I heard about your book,
- 24:09Speaker 3: and I heard about the Trista's terrible tweets, and I
- 24:12Speaker 3: heard about the podcast, and I said Olive branch was
- 24:16Speaker 3: the subject line, and I said, I'm truly so sorry.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I do too, I'm truly so sorry that I hurt
- 24:24Speaker 3: your feelings. I want you to know that as a mother,
- 24:27Speaker 3: it means a lot to me to I'm so sorry.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I'm sorry for that. I'm sorry. And I sent you
- 24:34Speaker 3: an email. I did not say that when okay, so
- 24:41Speaker 3: I what I said, can I please finish?
- 24:43Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 24:43Speaker 4: Heather?
- 24:43Speaker 3: Sorry, I said, I'm sorry. And your email back to
- 24:49Speaker 3: me and we could read it. We're not going to
- 24:51Speaker 3: I know, it's fine. And your email back to me
- 24:54Speaker 3: was I fully accept your apology. You said, oh, so
- 24:59Speaker 3: you didn't mean it, so you weren't sincere. So you
- 25:02Speaker 3: said you fully accept my apology, and then you read it,
- 25:05Speaker 3: and then you gave me your phone Thank you for
- 25:08Speaker 3: that kind message.
- 25:09Speaker 5: Consider your alive branch accepted. I've also felt compelled to
- 25:12Speaker 5: reach out to you.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Do you want to read it? Heather? Reach out to you.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Over the past few years, and especially with my book
- 25:18Speaker 5: coming out, I wanted to say no hard feelings. A
- 25:20Speaker 5: large part of my story was sharing what I went
- 25:23Speaker 5: through during and after my season. I don't want you
- 25:25Speaker 5: to ever feel like I was attacking you, like I
- 25:28Speaker 5: said during Please advise the podcast. I don't know you personally.
- 25:32Speaker 5: We both know what it's like when people see us
- 25:36Speaker 5: on television and form very strong opinions about us. You
- 25:39Speaker 5: did even though they don't know us. One of the
- 25:43Speaker 5: biggest lessons I've learned from this whole experience is how
- 25:45Speaker 5: to let go and forgive. Your apology means a lot
- 25:48Speaker 5: to me and is fully accepted if you. If you're
- 25:50Speaker 5: ever in La maybe we can meet for coffee. Thank
- 25:53Speaker 5: you for reaching out and for the well wishes on
- 25:55Speaker 5: the book.
- 25:56Speaker 4: So you said you.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Fully accepted my apology.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I believe what is written. Oh is the hurt coming
- 26:02Speaker 1: from the.
- 26:03Speaker 7: I'm over it.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I'm sorry, But what we need to talk about is
- 26:06Speaker 3: I brought up from the very beginning what happened from
- 26:08Speaker 3: the very beginning, because Heather asked me to what happened
- 26:12Speaker 3: after that is you fully accepted my apology. Years later,
- 26:16Speaker 3: you're on multiple podcasts Zachary Reality saying that I would
- 26:21Speaker 3: go to the opening of an envelope when I first
- 26:24Speaker 3: got Twitter, when I was live tweeting. Oh she was,
- 26:27Speaker 3: she just got Twitter and she was trying to live
- 26:30Speaker 3: tweet like it was like an agism. Stab let's because
- 26:36Speaker 3: you don't want to face what you said. No what
- 26:38Speaker 3: I bield because my husband didn't want to go on
- 26:40Speaker 3: the boat. I'm sorry, but there were two of us here.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I haven't since you said you accepted my apology, and
- 26:46Speaker 3: then I hear you going on these podcasts.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I didn't take a job at you. I took it.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I said that I don't understand the title that.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Can we understand that somebody not understanding somebody's humor is
- 27:00Speaker 1: it not necessarily a jab? And can we also understand
- 27:03Speaker 1: that not responding to an email that is heartfelt might be.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Taking I am sorry, I wish I would have This
- 27:11Speaker 3: was not my idea, by the way, so don't hold
- 27:14Speaker 3: that against me that you think like you asked me
- 27:17Speaker 3: when we first got here to like give you space
- 27:20Speaker 3: because of what you're going through.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I completely respect that.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I'm giving you what you need to not there's no tension,
- 27:27Speaker 3: Like I just wanted you to have fun here, so
- 27:30Speaker 3: I wasn't going to.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Talk about this, but it's happening.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Well, I'm sorry. It's not directed to you.
- 27:37Speaker 5: I just have a lot of shit going on right
- 27:38Speaker 5: now and this isn't comfortable for me.
- 27:41Speaker 4: This makes me very uncomfortable.
- 27:43Speaker 3: I'm shaking, like inside, I'm about to have a panic attack.
- 27:45Speaker 5: Well I've been having panic attacks all day because of
- 27:48Speaker 5: what I'm going through. Personally, I really understand that, and
- 27:50Speaker 5: like I probably should have skipped the trip. But like
- 27:53Speaker 5: this is like feels a little greedy to try to
- 27:55Speaker 5: get us to sit here and hash it out.
- 27:58Speaker 1: So that was not the intention. The intention was to
- 28:03Speaker 1: squash things. So things have been said. We'll leave it
- 28:08Speaker 1: at that. The goal was resolution. The goal was not
- 28:12Speaker 1: to make anybody feel like they were having a panic
- 28:14Speaker 1: attack or that they are.
- 28:15Speaker 3: What I do want to say is I am so
- 28:18Speaker 3: sorry for what you're going through. I would not wish
- 28:21Speaker 3: that on my worst enemy, and so I want you
- 28:24Speaker 3: to know from the bottom of my heart, I tie
- 28:28Speaker 3: face to face. I'm sorry for what you're going through,
- 28:32Speaker 3: for you, for your kids. I as I think that
- 28:36Speaker 3: you know, I am very maternal towards anyone who has
- 28:40Speaker 3: been on this show and is part of this Bachelor
- 28:43Speaker 3: Nation family. I can love everyone. We don't have to
- 28:47Speaker 3: like each other, like you don't have to like me.
- 28:50Speaker 5: For whatever reason, you and I clash, and I think
- 28:52Speaker 5: it's because we've had two totally different experiences. And I
- 28:56Speaker 5: was with my bachelor for a year and you were
- 28:57Speaker 5: saying things like, oh, they may I announce I split up.
- 29:01Speaker 5: You're like, oh, where she went wrong? Is she should
- 29:03Speaker 5: have moved up there. That was a really tough public
- 29:06Speaker 5: breakup for me and very rough, and I just felt
- 29:09Speaker 5: like I was getting piled on every which way till Tuesday.
- 29:11Speaker 5: And I get that Twitter I just become a thing
- 29:13Speaker 5: and it's a business, but like, this was a relationship
- 29:16Speaker 5: I was in for a year and I went through
- 29:19Speaker 5: Hull and back to film that show with twenty five
- 29:22Speaker 5: women who did bully me quite frankly, and it didn't
- 29:27Speaker 5: air that way. And that's why I wrote my book.
- 29:30Speaker 5: And I am that girl who is a fighter, and
- 29:33Speaker 5: I don't want to seem like I'm hostile, I'm over it,
- 29:36Speaker 5: and I don't want I just think we're very two
- 29:39Speaker 5: different personality types.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think that there's differences in personality, but at the
- 29:44Speaker 1: end of the day, I think there's actually a lot
- 29:46Speaker 1: of similarities that you've been through. Unfortunately, I think that
- 29:51Speaker 1: with Trista being the very first bachelorette, she went through
- 29:54Speaker 1: a fair share of means every name in the book
- 29:58Speaker 1: and you know, public humiliation. But this is the kind
- 30:01Speaker 1: of stuff that I wish you guys did know about
- 30:04Speaker 1: each other, because I think you have been on some
- 30:07Speaker 1: of the same things. But we'll leave it here because
- 30:11Speaker 1: we're setting good intentions. And I think the outcome of
- 30:17Speaker 1: this was hopefully, if you guys ever see each other
- 30:20Speaker 1: again or an event, it's it's less of avoiding and
- 30:25Speaker 1: maybe it's a maybe it's a hug.
- 30:27Speaker 3: And I mean wishing that. I hope that you're past
- 30:31Speaker 3: all of what's going on.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Thanks guys for doing this. I think that there was
- 30:35Speaker 1: some resolution out of this.
