- 0:00Speaker 1: Where should I begin?
- 0:00Speaker 2: Can we talk about this?
- 0:01Speaker 1: Say?
- 0:02Speaker 2: What are you trying to say?
- 0:03Speaker 1: Beyond the usual controversial talking?
- 0:07Speaker 3: There one.
- 0:11Speaker 2: One to prepare yourself. Okay for Craig preparing my deu?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Here how articulate stimulating?
- 0:25Speaker 1: There?
- 0:26Speaker 4: There you go back, you start becoming a gam.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Is the Craigcullin Show.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Jesus, oh God, no dot talk.
- 0:36Speaker 2: This station is now the ultimate power in the universe.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Your host, he's a good man crag.
- 0:42Speaker 5: That's right.
- 0:43Speaker 6: It is the Craig Collins Show, k s c V KGBC,
- 0:47Speaker 6: the Voice of Texas. I am newly shaved. I let
- 0:50Speaker 6: the beard go kind of long because the missus likes
- 0:53Speaker 6: the beard. I don't know if Lucas would give us
- 0:56Speaker 6: information as to his own relationship and if a beard
- 0:59Speaker 6: is a preference of the lady in the life. But
- 1:02Speaker 6: I'll say this, if you're with somebody who likes a beard,
- 1:05Speaker 6: you rock a beard a lot. And then I was like,
- 1:06Speaker 6: I don't want this anymore. But we haven't had hot
- 1:09Speaker 6: water in our apartment for two days. So Lucas caught
- 1:12Speaker 6: me shaving at work. That's a thing that actually happened.
- 1:16Speaker 6: I was sort of thrilled, and then not thrilled, and
- 1:18Speaker 6: I'm like, I'm gonna mention this on the radio because
- 1:21Speaker 6: I timed it. I'll tell you, Lucas, I timed it
- 1:23Speaker 6: so everybody else that's here had left. I've worked at
- 1:26Speaker 6: this place long enough now that I know when the
- 1:28Speaker 6: people and the other places are gone, like the other
- 1:31Speaker 6: businesses around us, and so you were the only wild card.
- 1:35Speaker 6: If you showed up closer to the time you were
- 1:37Speaker 6: scheduled to be here and not early, significantly early, like
- 1:40Speaker 6: a good employee, I would have got away with it
- 1:43Speaker 6: if not for those darn kids. But you saw me
- 1:45Speaker 6: do it. And the funniest part two. Right after the
- 1:48Speaker 6: embarrassment of shaving work, which is a thing, I get
- 1:51Speaker 6: a text message from the missus right after I sit
- 1:53Speaker 6: back down that says we have hot water back. We
- 1:55Speaker 6: haven't had it for two days. I had a cold
- 1:58Speaker 6: shower last night, and that is how on earth. I
- 2:00Speaker 6: don't want anybody to do that. You shouldn't have to
- 2:02Speaker 6: do that. My wife boiled water and brought it in
- 2:05Speaker 6: for like a shower bath thing, and I thought that
- 2:08Speaker 6: was too much work. And she probably also doesn't want
- 2:10Speaker 6: me to talk about her showering on the radio. All right,
- 2:12Speaker 6: I'm seeing Lucas MegaFace, so I'll move on. But I
- 2:15Speaker 6: just thought that was funny today. First time I've done it,
- 2:18Speaker 6: not a guy that normally and I just did the
- 2:20Speaker 6: full shave acting. You know what, screw it, and this
- 2:23Speaker 6: is how we're starting the show. I'm going to keep going.
- 2:25Speaker 6: I have like a trimmer that I brought in, and
- 2:28Speaker 6: so I was trimming the beard to not cause the
- 2:31Speaker 6: ridiculousness that is like fully shaving at work, and it
- 2:34Speaker 6: died on me. So I had two choices when that
- 2:37Speaker 6: thing died, and I could even hold it up to
- 2:39Speaker 6: the camera to show that this is all a true story,
- 2:41Speaker 6: because it's sitting right over there. The two choices were
- 2:44Speaker 6: have half a beard trimmed, half a beard ridiculous, or
- 2:49Speaker 6: dive deep in shave with dollar store raisers. So went
- 2:53Speaker 6: I went option too. And I'm pretty sure I'm still
- 2:55Speaker 6: bleeding from the chin. And I think I've been bleeding
- 2:57Speaker 6: from the chin for two and a half hours probably
- 3:00Speaker 6: is that? Do you call the doctor at that? Do
- 3:02Speaker 6: you go nine one one? I think I'm fine, It's
- 3:05Speaker 6: just a slow little bleed. It just okay, Thank you,
- 3:08Speaker 6: thanks buddy. Did you notice that by the way that
- 3:10Speaker 6: I was bleeding from the gin this entire time I'd
- 3:12Speaker 6: seen it. I wasn't gonna say anything. Well, that's fine.
- 3:14Speaker 6: I just brought it up on the radio. I figured
- 3:16Speaker 6: that was the better way to do it. I am
- 3:18Speaker 6: someone that definitely lets everybody into the trust tree of
- 3:20Speaker 6: my life via a radio show, and so this is it.
- 3:24Speaker 6: So let me know if you think the lack of
- 3:26Speaker 6: beard looks terrible because the missus hates it, I'll go
- 3:29Speaker 6: home today and she'll tell me why why, baby Craig,
- 3:33Speaker 6: and she'll actually say that, she'll call me a baby,
- 3:35Speaker 6: which'll be nice. All Right, Let's actually talk about like
- 3:37Speaker 6: news stuff, which is probably more relevant and valuable than that.
- 3:41Speaker 6: I mean, it was embarrassing story I decided to tell
- 3:44Speaker 6: to open the show. Lindsay Graham's sister Darlene was sworn
- 3:48Speaker 6: in today. I thought this was cool. You heard Jimmy
- 3:51Speaker 6: X call into the show yesterday. I talked about it
- 3:54Speaker 6: yesterday that it's it's sort of uniquely emotionally important that
- 3:59Speaker 6: she takes over for the surprisingly recently past Lindsey Graham
- 4:04Speaker 6: because he raised her. Their parents died when she was
- 4:07Speaker 6: still a teenager, and Lindsey Graham raised his sister. So
- 4:11Speaker 6: it's really really cool to watch this happen. We have
- 4:13Speaker 6: a little bit of a video clip of this.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Good Please raise your right hand.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Do you solemnly swear there you will support and defend
- 4:25Speaker 7: the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign
- 4:30Speaker 7: and domestic.
- 4:32Speaker 8: There you will bear.
- 4:33Speaker 7: True faith and allegiance to the same, That you take
- 4:37Speaker 7: this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion,
- 4:45Speaker 7: and that you will well and faithfully discharge the duties
- 4:50Speaker 7: of the office on what you are about to enter.
- 4:53Speaker 3: So help you God.
- 4:54Speaker 6: I congratulations, congratulations. I thought that was really again. I
- 5:01Speaker 6: guess the significance of it is just hearing it or
- 5:03Speaker 6: watching it if you're on any of our social media channels.
- 5:06Speaker 6: By the way, my mother, I'm a millennial, so she
- 5:09Speaker 6: watches everything I do in radio. She said, you can't
- 5:11Speaker 6: tell that I'm bleeding on the live stream, so that's
- 5:13Speaker 6: good because there's still a slow bleed in on the chin.
- 5:16Speaker 6: And my mom also said she likes me without a
- 5:18Speaker 6: beard better. Ma, I don't care no offense. The missus
- 5:21Speaker 6: is gonna win the argument out of what way I
- 5:23Speaker 6: look not you. You're very important to me, Mom, But Betty,
- 5:27Speaker 6: you'll get the beard back very soon. I just I
- 5:29Speaker 6: guess it's so itchy. That's not the point. The point
- 5:31Speaker 6: is Lindsey Graham. All right, let's go back to that.
- 5:33Speaker 6: But this was amazing to watch this happen, to watch
- 5:36Speaker 6: Darlene be sworn in. She will be a US Senator
- 5:39Speaker 6: until early next year and then probably will not run
- 5:43Speaker 6: for that office. There are some people being talked about
- 5:46Speaker 6: A Nancy may certainly the biggest among them in South Carolina,
- 5:50Speaker 6: a name recognition wise, who might try to gain that seat.
- 5:54Speaker 6: We'll see, We'll see what happens there. Another big conversation.
- 5:57Speaker 6: The President of the United States tease his address that
- 6:01Speaker 6: will happen on Thursday. I think we'll probably run that here.
- 6:05Speaker 6: It depends on what time it's at. We've coordinated this
- 6:08Speaker 6: before a couple different ways. As I'm looking at Lucas
- 6:12Speaker 6: in the other studio, he might not know, but when
- 6:14Speaker 6: I was the only person that was a boardop here
- 6:16Speaker 6: in the afternoons and evenings, I had to come back
- 6:19Speaker 6: and run that thing. You get paid, and you know
- 6:21Speaker 6: what we should do. We should do the pizza radio
- 6:25Speaker 6: stations when they force one person to work late, they
- 6:27Speaker 6: buy them a pizza. It's sort of like it's your
- 6:30Speaker 6: friend when you move, like that's all they're willing to
- 6:33Speaker 6: pay you. So maybe we also get them a pizza
- 6:35Speaker 6: if he has to come in late. But I'll probably
- 6:37Speaker 6: also volunteer to do it. And no pizza has been
- 6:39Speaker 6: given to me yet. But I'm assuming we're going to
- 6:41Speaker 6: run this thing on Thursday because Trump says it's going
- 6:44Speaker 6: to be big. There's gonna be big news. People are
- 6:47Speaker 6: guessing that part of what he's going to be talking
- 6:50Speaker 6: about is election integrity. But what exactly the big news
- 6:54Speaker 6: is I think is still up for some debate. Some
- 6:58Speaker 6: think they know what's coming, but with President Trump, I
- 7:00Speaker 6: don't think you actually know till the guy's in front
- 7:02Speaker 6: of the microphone anticipating.
- 7:04Speaker 8: A big announcement on Thursday day regarding election mischif machines
- 7:07Speaker 8: and integrity, can you give.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Us sort of a sneaky geek about what to looks
- 7:10Speaker 6: sat and tell?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Well, I'd rather say it.
- 7:12Speaker 3: It will concern that subject, and we'll have a couple
- 7:14Speaker 3: of other things so much, but I'd rather say it.
- 7:17Speaker 2: But it's really big news.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It's really really big news, and our country has to
- 7:24Speaker 3: shape up. But that's what we're going to be talking
- 7:28Speaker 3: about Thursday, is it doesn't get bigger because without free
- 7:33Speaker 3: and fair elections, you don't after country.
- 7:35Speaker 6: It will be just the biggest of news in so
- 7:38Speaker 6: many ways. The President Trump could keep going about that huge.
- 7:41Speaker 6: That was a missed opportunity for him to say that.
- 7:43Speaker 6: But what exactly this will be. I'm sure people on
- 7:47Speaker 6: a certain side of the aisle will say it's either
- 7:49Speaker 6: a lie or something else before it even happens. They're
- 7:54Speaker 6: probably telling you right now, whatever he's saying in the
- 7:56Speaker 6: future on Thursday is a lie, and they don't know
- 7:59Speaker 6: what it is yet, so that's kind of amazing. They
- 8:01Speaker 6: don't know what information backs it up. Many people have
- 8:05Speaker 6: been discussing what happened in Georgia and in Fulton County.
- 8:08Speaker 6: The FBI raided some places back in January. I think
- 8:12Speaker 6: within the last few weeks people got fired that we're
- 8:15Speaker 6: refusing to be a part of ongoing investigations into election
- 8:18Speaker 6: fraud in Georgia. Will that be tied to this, I
- 8:21Speaker 6: don't know, but he is at least saying that it's
- 8:24Speaker 6: must watch television. Will we actually believe that? Will everyone
- 8:28Speaker 6: actually think that that is to be determined at some
- 8:31Speaker 6: point in the future. He also was asked about the
- 8:33Speaker 6: Middle East about you know, of course, what's going on
- 8:36Speaker 6: in Iran, and I thought he made a pretty interesting
- 8:40Speaker 6: point or answered some questions in a pretty interesting way.
- 8:44Speaker 6: One of my favorite things was being asked about the
- 8:47Speaker 6: toll because part of it, to me, I'm an East
- 8:50Speaker 6: Coast Italian, felt like a mob move. Not that I'm
- 8:52Speaker 6: against it, but you get twenty percent if I help
- 8:55Speaker 6: your boats get through the Strait of Ormus. We don't
- 8:58Speaker 6: really want to secure you, but we can. Like I didn't,
- 9:01Speaker 6: I didn't hate this. I guess President Trump has backed
- 9:03Speaker 6: off it a little bit, mostly because he got some
- 9:06Speaker 6: phone calls for some people that are willing to just
- 9:08Speaker 6: give us money straight away, that are willing to invest
- 9:11Speaker 6: in the US instead of, you know, have the twenty
- 9:14Speaker 6: percent off the top. I'll be the way to go
- 9:16Speaker 6: about it. Here we go between.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Kurdistan region on your o.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I think everything is going to work out. I think
- 9:22Speaker 3: people are the Middle East, believe it or not, it
- 9:25Speaker 3: is coming together. We're getting rid of the tully of
- 9:27Speaker 3: the Middle East. Iran was the bully of the Middle East.
- 9:30Speaker 3: They bullied Iraq. They bullied every country they were. There
- 9:35Speaker 3: was fear all over the Middle East with other countries.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I understand that, but there was fear. But there's no
- 9:42Speaker 3: fear anymore because their military capability has been knocked to
- 9:45Speaker 3: hell and there's no fear. I think the Middle East
- 9:47Speaker 3: is coming together like it's never come together before. You
- 9:50Speaker 3: can't have a dominant factor like Iran that would kill
- 9:54Speaker 3: fifty two thousand protesters, you know, they kill. Nobody likes
- 9:57Speaker 3: talking about that.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I don't like talking about it.
- 10:00Speaker 3: They killed fifty two thousand protesters.
- 10:02Speaker 6: So yeah, I'm interrupted right there, Sorry, mister president. I
- 10:06Speaker 6: think what's interesting to me is how little people give
- 10:08Speaker 6: credit to this president for that action, and that being
- 10:12Speaker 6: one of the inspirations of it. If this were a democrat,
- 10:15Speaker 6: And what about isms? They're just so easy in the
- 10:18Speaker 6: world of politics, but they're so often obviously true. If
- 10:21Speaker 6: this were a democratic president and they said the reason
- 10:24Speaker 6: that they were fighting this fight was because of the
- 10:27Speaker 6: horrible treatment of innocent people, praise, constant praise. Probably a
- 10:32Speaker 6: Nobel Peace Prize would be handed to that person. For
- 10:34Speaker 6: President Trump, it's horrible and terrible, and gas prices are higher.
- 10:38Speaker 6: That's the way we talk about this. This is actually
- 10:40Speaker 6: the audio about the twenty percent off the top charge
- 10:46Speaker 6: for securing ships that go through the straight of hormones.
- 10:49Speaker 6: I do want to play this too.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I had two questions.
- 10:51Speaker 6: I was wondering if you could explain you're changing and
- 10:54Speaker 6: thinking on the straight up formos.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Playing a twenty percent How did you get to the
- 10:58Speaker 2: decision you just.
- 11:00Speaker 3: So when I put that out yesterday. We've been doing
- 11:03Speaker 3: that for many, many years. It was never fair to
- 11:05Speaker 3: me that we would be guarding the strait when we
- 11:08Speaker 3: basically don't take it anything. We don't need the oil
- 11:10Speaker 3: at all, and it wasn't important for us, but it
- 11:14Speaker 3: was important for allies.
- 11:15Speaker 2: It was important for people.
- 11:16Speaker 3: That we get along with very well, including the major
- 11:20Speaker 3: Gulf state countries. So I put it out yesterday. I
- 11:24Speaker 3: thought it was good. I was called by different people
- 11:27Speaker 3: different countries, kings and emans and all of the people
- 11:31Speaker 3: that we all know and we all love them. They've
- 11:34Speaker 3: been frankly, they've been very strong partners, and they said,
- 11:38Speaker 3: we'd love to do it a different way. We'd love
- 11:40Speaker 3: to invest in the United.
- 11:41Speaker 2: States awesome billions and.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Billions of dollars and continue our record setting because there's
- 11:49Speaker 3: never been a time like this in the United States,
- 11:51Speaker 3: with the factories, with the plants, with everything else.
- 11:53Speaker 6: He's right about that production of stuff here in the
- 11:56Speaker 6: United States is through the roof, and that's good. We
- 12:00Speaker 6: need that for a variety of reasons. But the other
- 12:02Speaker 6: thing I really like about that is people called him,
- 12:05Speaker 6: according to the President, and said, let's cut some deals.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Because now he is the art of the deal guy
- 12:11Speaker 6: all over again, because he says twenty percent off the
- 12:13Speaker 6: top charge to secure the straight and people are making
- 12:16Speaker 6: phone calls like, can we just give you money? If
- 12:19Speaker 6: we just give you money, can you just do it?
- 12:21Speaker 6: I love that. I love everything about that. I'm sure
- 12:24Speaker 6: people won't think it's true, but it is what it is.
- 12:27Speaker 6: Shifting gears a bit. And I think I heard Chris
- 12:29Speaker 6: X mention this kind of quickly the data center debates
- 12:33Speaker 6: and stuff, and I think it was even in the
- 12:35Speaker 6: Houston Chronicle or the Houston Comical, whatever you want to
- 12:38Speaker 6: call it, where they talked about the benefits of data centers.
- 12:42Speaker 6: They reference some sort of study that shows that investments
- 12:46Speaker 6: in communities that build data centers go up by about
- 12:49Speaker 6: five percent over the course of a certain amount of time.
- 12:53Speaker 6: That's not the short term benefit. That's the longer term,
- 12:56Speaker 6: year plus benefit of building a data center somewhere. But
- 12:59Speaker 6: it's not just that the investment, and like other businesses
- 13:03Speaker 6: that come in, the same four or five percent increase
- 13:07Speaker 6: is also true for wages and jobs, the amount of
- 13:10Speaker 6: jobs created and long term, not the short term. We're
- 13:13Speaker 6: going to build the project, create the data center, and
- 13:16Speaker 6: then all those construction jobs are gone. I thought that
- 13:18Speaker 6: was interesting. You might not believe it because it's the
- 13:21Speaker 6: Houston comical, and I'm okay if you don't. But I
- 13:24Speaker 6: know that a lot of people are debating this, and
- 13:26Speaker 6: most of the people I hear from. I actually did
- 13:28Speaker 6: a show in a different stating end today this morning,
- 13:31Speaker 6: and that was a big topic there too in Indianapolis.
- 13:34Speaker 6: And I even had people calling in and telling me
- 13:37Speaker 6: what they thought about the data center discussion, and most
- 13:40Speaker 6: people said, I'm happy with them as long as they
- 13:42Speaker 6: don't build them in my neighborhood, like, don't do it
- 13:44Speaker 6: in my backyard, and then it's okay. And so I
- 13:47Speaker 6: want to kind of reframe that discussion a tad and
- 13:51Speaker 6: look at it from a different lens, because, of course,
- 13:54Speaker 6: the reason for the data centers is the necessity of
- 13:58Speaker 6: AI to use a whole crap time data. So, and
- 14:02Speaker 6: I do agree with the governor or anyone else in
- 14:04Speaker 6: this state that says, if you want to do that,
- 14:06Speaker 6: if you want to build a bunch of these things,
- 14:09Speaker 6: you got to put in nuclear plants to some kind
- 14:11Speaker 6: of power them. Like we don't want to be the
- 14:12Speaker 6: ones to power them. We want you. And maybe you
- 14:15Speaker 6: even throw a little bit of energy back in the grit,
- 14:17Speaker 6: maybe you give us a little extra for our time
- 14:19Speaker 6: and our punishment there. But the thing that people don't
- 14:23Speaker 6: talk about in the world of AI is military or
- 14:26Speaker 6: in this case even political uses. And Joe Rogan of
- 14:31Speaker 6: all people, on his podcast I was talking about exactly this.
- 14:35Speaker 6: He was talking about where he thinks AI could be
- 14:38Speaker 6: most applicable in the very near future, and how incredible
- 14:42Speaker 6: it would be if we send it there. This is
- 14:45Speaker 6: similar to me thinking, even though I didn't like it
- 14:47Speaker 6: in the world of baseball, that now that they can
- 14:50Speaker 6: challenge the balls and strikes, they get the balls and
- 14:52Speaker 6: strikes right all the time until they run out of challenges.
- 14:55Speaker 6: So I do like that. I didn't think I was
- 14:57Speaker 6: going to like it, but I do like it. Especially
- 14:59Speaker 6: when the Yankees are losing, which has been a lot recently,
- 15:02Speaker 6: and they tap ahead and they get a strike turned
- 15:04Speaker 6: into a ball. But this feels like a similar thing
- 15:08Speaker 6: again in the world of politics, and with the use
- 15:10Speaker 6: of technology, let's start figuring out what the balls and
- 15:13Speaker 6: strikes are in the world of our politicians and the
- 15:16Speaker 6: ridiculous amount of wasted money or fraudulent money that they
- 15:20Speaker 6: are placing all over and not at all protecting, and
- 15:24Speaker 6: those taxpayer dollars that we're spending. I'd like them to
- 15:27Speaker 6: be protected a little bit more. Here we go.
- 15:29Speaker 5: I think it's the first thing that it's going to
- 15:31Speaker 5: take over as government. He's going to realize how unbelievably
- 15:35Speaker 5: inefficient the government is doing almost everything, and how much
- 15:40Speaker 5: of the money that gets allocated is fraud and waste. Amen,
- 15:44Speaker 5: if you allow AI to sort through that and develop
- 15:48Speaker 5: much more efficient pathways to controlling and any.
- 15:52Speaker 6: Resources, people would not want to see exactly. I love
- 15:56Speaker 6: that his guest was like, Ah, some people might not
- 15:58Speaker 6: want to see that happen. Yeah, all the politicians, I
- 16:01Speaker 6: wouldn't want to see it happen. If a AI thing
- 16:05Speaker 6: ran for any political office, and the first thing they
- 16:08Speaker 6: promised me is that they were going to make sure
- 16:10Speaker 6: to out waste fraud and abuse, similar to DOGE, but
- 16:14Speaker 6: just the computer is going to do it this time.
- 16:16Speaker 6: They would probably get my vote as long as I
- 16:19Speaker 6: understand that it's not terrible, horrible people behind the computer
- 16:23Speaker 6: controlling the computer and telling it what to do. If
- 16:25Speaker 6: that's happening, the terrible things I think happened, But as
- 16:29Speaker 6: long as that's not occurring, as long as it is actually,
- 16:32Speaker 6: you know, authentically going in and looking at the horrible
- 16:35Speaker 6: ways in which the government spends our money, this sounds amazing,
- 16:39Speaker 6: And so I would be okay with more data centers
- 16:42Speaker 6: if I get this, or if I get protection from China,
- 16:46Speaker 6: which is the other big thing militarily and just from
- 16:49Speaker 6: a technology standpoint, we can't allow that country to surpass us.
- 16:54Speaker 6: We have to be above them on the cutting edge
- 16:56Speaker 6: of all of this. Because of how a big of
- 16:58Speaker 6: a deal I think it's going to be for the
- 17:00Speaker 6: future of a combat. You already see drones used. I
- 17:04Speaker 6: mean honestly, right now, the only thing that seems to
- 17:08Speaker 6: be a leverage point potentially for Ron against the United
- 17:12Speaker 6: States is the way that they would use drones in
- 17:14Speaker 6: the Strait of Hormuz to attack ships that are going
- 17:17Speaker 6: through there, and President Trump said, we're going to destroy
- 17:19Speaker 6: all those like We're going to remove that obstacle very quickly.
- 17:23Speaker 6: But the challenge of it, if you talk to anyone
- 17:25Speaker 6: in the world of military, is how low cost those
- 17:29Speaker 6: drones are and how easy they are to be used
- 17:31Speaker 6: in that capacity. So I think again, the more important
- 17:35Speaker 6: thing is to make sure that we're at the technological
- 17:38Speaker 6: forefront of any of this stuff. Always the US has
- 17:42Speaker 6: to be in front. And so does that mean a
- 17:44Speaker 6: data center. It's going to pop up in a lot
- 17:46Speaker 6: more places than I want one to sure. Maybe I
- 17:49Speaker 6: think that's part of the reason we're going back to
- 17:51Speaker 6: the moon baby, is because, as Elon Musk has said,
- 17:54Speaker 6: you could put a whole bunch of centers up there
- 17:56Speaker 6: and they wouldn't be so annoying to the rest of us.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Although I wonder if you like fully covered it with
- 18:01Speaker 6: data centers, if at some point you could see it
- 18:04Speaker 6: like there'd be a half moon, a full moon, and
- 18:05Speaker 6: then a data moon. I doubt that's true, but part
- 18:09Speaker 6: of me thinks it's funny. All right, we'll take a break.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Our first break of the show we'll come back. I
- 18:13Speaker 6: will talk about some other serious things, probably not discuss
- 18:16Speaker 6: my beard and door me shaving at work. That probably
- 18:18Speaker 6: won't come up. Although I can't make any promises, I
- 18:21Speaker 6: don't know that I want to make any promises. I
- 18:23Speaker 6: do have audio a Tom Holman and something he's saying
- 18:27Speaker 6: that I thought was really really interesting, And even though
- 18:30Speaker 6: he's not saying there's a direct connection, it feels like
- 18:33Speaker 6: there's a pretty significant connection to what happened here in
- 18:36Speaker 6: Houston with a ICE involved shooting and some changes that
- 18:40Speaker 6: ICE will be making to try to avoid even the
- 18:43Speaker 6: potential for a story similar to the one that we
- 18:46Speaker 6: saw here that we don't still fully understand, although I
- 18:49Speaker 6: don't know that we ever will, and for the most part,
- 18:51Speaker 6: I think a lot of people have come to accept
- 18:53Speaker 6: ICE's version of events of this, and Tom did reference
- 18:57Speaker 6: in a different point in an interview some things about that.
- 19:00Speaker 6: But I just think that an announcement he made today
- 19:02Speaker 6: feels connected out of something that happened in our community.
- 19:05Speaker 6: So that coming up in a bit is Craig College
- 19:07Speaker 6: Show KSV seven hundred am The Voice of Texas.
- 19:11Speaker 9: You tell me, sir, what is the change in Why
- 19:15Speaker 9: are you doing it well.
- 19:18Speaker 8: That decision was made by the Secretary along with leadership
- 19:21Speaker 8: at ICE. But look, it's not a policy change, it's
- 19:24Speaker 8: a temporary pause. Look, we had the last couple of shootings.
- 19:27Speaker 8: ICE leadership along with DHS believes they want to look
- 19:30Speaker 8: at these last a couple of incidants and look, is
- 19:33Speaker 8: there something that could have been done better? Is there
- 19:36Speaker 8: any training to get me improved? Or it's simply I
- 19:38Speaker 8: was doing their job and bad things happen when people
- 19:42Speaker 8: don't comply with law enforcement officers. So I think it's
- 19:44Speaker 8: going to be a short pause, and I'm confident that
- 19:48Speaker 8: ICE is well trained. The vehicle stops and you're going
- 19:50Speaker 8: to see this keep moving forward. But this is just
- 19:53Speaker 8: a temporary pause where they look at the incidents. But
- 19:55Speaker 8: let me say this too, I hear a lot of
- 19:58Speaker 8: noise right now. This is going to affect arrests and
- 20:00Speaker 8: it's not going to Look I've done this for a
- 20:03Speaker 8: long time. You can when that alien leaves his home
- 20:06Speaker 8: before he gets into the car, you're can arrest them.
- 20:08Speaker 8: Then you're gonna wait till the vehicle gets to the
- 20:10Speaker 8: destination and rest in them rested. Then every case is different.
- 20:14Speaker 8: Now we know vehicle assault up over thirty four hundred percent.
- 20:17Speaker 8: So if we can arrest that alien outside that vehicle
- 20:21Speaker 8: and take that two ton weapon away from them, that's
- 20:23Speaker 8: good in some instances. Other instances where he's gonna still
- 20:26Speaker 8: need to do vehicle stops or a significant criminal and
- 20:29Speaker 8: you may want to stop him in a dust some
- 20:30Speaker 8: area before he gets downtown. He certainly doesn't want to
- 20:33Speaker 8: stop a criminal alien near a school that in the
- 20:36Speaker 8: middle of recess for one hundred kids in the playground.
- 20:38Speaker 8: There are so many circumstances these agents need to look
- 20:40Speaker 8: at to make these decisions.
- 20:44Speaker 6: By the way, if you don't know what he's talking about,
- 20:45Speaker 6: in the world of the pause, he is talking about
- 20:48Speaker 6: a pause on vehicle stops the United States, the Immigration
- 20:54Speaker 6: and Customs Enforcement people ICE. I don't know why it
- 20:58Speaker 6: took so long to say it that way. They will stop,
- 21:01Speaker 6: at least temporarily doing or at least scale back vehicle
- 21:06Speaker 6: related stops. And I think that that's great, to be honest, because,
- 21:10Speaker 6: and I think Tom Holman said it in the discussion there,
- 21:14Speaker 6: the biggest win is that there is no giant weapon
- 21:18Speaker 6: that can be used to harm people that are pulling
- 21:22Speaker 6: them over to harm ICE agents in the first place.
- 21:25Speaker 6: This simply removes that obstacle, so immigration and custom enforcement
- 21:29Speaker 6: will be capable of doing something that is inherently safer
- 21:33Speaker 6: by waiting for someone to get to a destination or
- 21:36Speaker 6: disrupting them before they get into a vehicle. Now, the
- 21:39Speaker 6: rub of this discussion to me, and it's definitely a
- 21:42Speaker 6: macro discussion it's not specific to what happened here in Houston,
- 21:46Speaker 6: is if those communities fight, and I don't mean the
- 21:50Speaker 6: people that you're looking to apprehend, I mean the communities
- 21:52Speaker 6: as a whole. In the conversation about Renee Good, she
- 21:56Speaker 6: was not at all a target of an ICE investigation.
- 22:00Speaker 6: Is trying to be a disruptor, someone in the street
- 22:02Speaker 6: that Democrats convinced needed to be there so that she
- 22:06Speaker 6: could prevent these horrible, terrible ICE agents that she's convinced
- 22:10Speaker 6: they are from arresting someone in the community that might
- 22:12Speaker 6: have a rap sheet seven pages long. You don't really
- 22:16Speaker 6: know what some of these discussions are, but that is
- 22:18Speaker 6: part of the reason that I think at times some
- 22:21Speaker 6: of these ICE things, these you know, apprehensions of people
- 22:26Speaker 6: have come when they're in the vehicle driving to the
- 22:28Speaker 6: next destination. Is avoiding going into the neighborhood where people
- 22:32Speaker 6: might react to So it's darned if you do, darned
- 22:35Speaker 6: if you don't. A version of a discussion. But to me,
- 22:39Speaker 6: the fact that you've seen a couple of these stories
- 22:41Speaker 6: go viral and there's still questions about them, and Ice
- 22:44Speaker 6: said they're going to investigate it. I know Houston is
- 22:47Speaker 6: saying they're going to do stuff for some of our politicians.
- 22:49Speaker 6: You can't no matter how much money you raise, you
- 22:52Speaker 6: don't have the authority to do something that you're claiming
- 22:55Speaker 6: you're going to do. It's just not going to happen.
- 22:57Speaker 6: And the Houston Police Department was willing to admit that
- 23:00Speaker 6: even if politicians aren't. So where where we are. And
- 23:04Speaker 6: so I do think that this is significant, potentially tied
- 23:07Speaker 6: to some of the things that are going on. And
- 23:09Speaker 6: Homan addressed it very quickly when he said within that
- 23:12Speaker 6: discussion that there are some people that might wind up
- 23:15Speaker 6: in trouble. He didn't say it in the terms I
- 23:18Speaker 6: just chose, but he did say it in the terms
- 23:20Speaker 6: of there's things that have happened. He wasn't specific about
- 23:22Speaker 6: what it was, where you know, maybe retraining or something
- 23:25Speaker 6: is necessary He did touch on training in general too,
- 23:29Speaker 6: because some people believe that many of the ICE agents
- 23:32Speaker 6: who might be involved in these things that become the
- 23:35Speaker 6: viral focused stories and not the myriad of arrests that
- 23:38Speaker 6: you never hear about, because nothing sensational happens in those moments,
- 23:42Speaker 6: nothing tragic, no one dies, someone is just arrested. But
- 23:47Speaker 6: the other thing that's interesting is he says, by and large,
- 23:49Speaker 6: the people that have been involved, they're not new, they're
- 23:52Speaker 6: well trained, veteran ICE agents, which probably says to the
- 23:56Speaker 6: agency that some of these people are more likely to
- 23:59Speaker 6: be telling the truth than if you're new. Again, I
- 24:02Speaker 6: don't know the data, I don't know the details. I
- 24:05Speaker 6: haven't seen any video evidence that gives me definitive understanding
- 24:08Speaker 6: of certain things. But it's interesting if the assumption is
- 24:11Speaker 6: these rookies and they're definitely not.
- 24:13Speaker 9: I want to get your reaction to reporting, Tom that
- 24:17Speaker 9: this is born in some way out of insufficient training
- 24:21Speaker 9: for new ICE recruits and agents. You've obviously hired thousands
- 24:25Speaker 9: of new agents in the last several months, and perhaps
- 24:29Speaker 9: this was being done because there's a reporting out there
- 24:32Speaker 9: that insufficient training may play a part, and possibly in
- 24:36Speaker 9: the case in Biddeford, Maine.
- 24:38Speaker 8: What say you, Wes Myers saying the officers involved in
- 24:42Speaker 8: me as soon as you're well trained or not a
- 24:43Speaker 8: part of that new hearst. So you know, I looked
- 24:46Speaker 8: at the just before I just interview Griff. I asked Isa,
- 24:49Speaker 8: give me the training curriculum for the academy, and there's
- 24:52Speaker 8: an extensive vehicle stop training, much like the Borbital has.
- 24:55Speaker 8: So again, we'll let this play out where it is.
- 24:59Speaker 8: But I think I think ICE is going to continue
- 25:01Speaker 8: doing record arrest, record and movals, and this is I
- 25:04Speaker 8: wouldn't even call it bumping a roll. And I mean,
- 25:06Speaker 8: this is going to be a short term review. So
- 25:08Speaker 8: I show us comfortable that their agents are safe, they're
- 25:11Speaker 8: doing the right thing, and get back to, you know,
- 25:14Speaker 8: doing what they do best, which is, you know, making
- 25:16Speaker 8: vehicle stops. But like I said, I'll say it again,
- 25:19Speaker 8: but there are options during the short time period to
- 25:21Speaker 8: rest they land before he gets in a moving weapon
- 25:24Speaker 8: and wrestling after it he stops.
- 25:26Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true. Well, by the way, anyone watching on
- 25:28Speaker 6: the live stream, sorry about showing you my email for
- 25:30Speaker 6: a second there. I got an email from somebody and
- 25:32Speaker 6: I checked in I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm using this
- 25:34Speaker 6: computer to show you the video. But yes, Tom Holman
- 25:37Speaker 6: once again talking about the amount of training and the
- 25:40Speaker 6: people involved in the recent shootings that did involve vehicles.
- 25:44Speaker 6: I'll say one last thing about this topic, and it's
- 25:47Speaker 6: a macro thought as well. It's not specific. That means
- 25:51Speaker 6: it's not specific to any one story. It's more of
- 25:53Speaker 6: a tree branch's version of or tree tops version of
- 25:57Speaker 6: a thought. And I guess if I added specificity, i'd
- 26:01Speaker 6: be talking about Renee Good and the officer who had
- 26:04Speaker 6: been dragged by a car before. I think some people
- 26:07Speaker 6: underestimate the intimidation factor of a car itself, like the
- 26:11Speaker 6: weapon that is a car. I think I even saw
- 26:14Speaker 6: Moron on the left be like, how do you weaponize
- 26:16Speaker 6: a car? Which was one of the stupidest things I've
- 26:19Speaker 6: ever heard a person say. And yet that is something
- 26:23Speaker 6: that I think is misunderstood by some people. And I
- 26:27Speaker 6: think that ICE doing what they're going to do to
- 26:29Speaker 6: potentially completely avoid the stops with cars, at least for
- 26:34Speaker 6: the time being, at least in the short term, helps
- 26:36Speaker 6: again in another way, to prevent that danger that inherently exists.
- 26:41Speaker 6: All Right, A couple other quick things in the world
- 26:43Speaker 6: of politics that I want to play. I thought this
- 26:46Speaker 6: was interesting. This was an interview on Newsmax where a
- 26:49Speaker 6: guest was talking about how bipartisan claims are really kind
- 26:55Speaker 6: of a problem and really disingenuous in the first place,
- 26:58Speaker 6: and that beyond the problem of sides working together, is
- 27:02Speaker 6: also the egregiousness of long term senators. And I don't
- 27:07Speaker 6: think this is intended to be a shot at Lindsey Graham,
- 27:10Speaker 6: who just passed away while in his seventies. I think
- 27:13Speaker 6: it's probably more focused on Mitch McConnell if it's talking
- 27:16Speaker 6: about anybody, but saying that we need term limits because
- 27:19Speaker 6: we shouldn't be seeing several of our politicians die in office.
- 27:24Speaker 6: It's just not valuable to us, or really to them
- 27:27Speaker 6: and their health or their mental well being to be
- 27:30Speaker 6: serving six year term after six year term and creating
- 27:34Speaker 6: a scenario where they're people who are struggling with the
- 27:38Speaker 6: kinds of health issues you struggle with as you get
- 27:40Speaker 6: up there in age, like McConnell, and just keep coming
- 27:43Speaker 6: back and doing the job again. But here's a little
- 27:46Speaker 6: bit of the comments made there.
- 27:48Speaker 4: At a certain point, you need to realize it's time
- 27:51Speaker 4: for you to retire. And that's a bipartisan problem because, yeah,
- 27:57Speaker 4: when you vote for somebody, you're sending a representative to Congress.
- 28:00Speaker 4: This recent example of Congressman Kine of New Jersey, Like,
- 28:03Speaker 4: I was depressed for four months so I didn't work.
- 28:06Speaker 4: But we had cases here in Virginia where the congressman
- 28:09Speaker 4: gets a terminal cancer diagnosis and runs for reelection. It's like,
- 28:14Speaker 4: you have to let go and think of the people first.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Yeah, you do, and think of yourself. Like, I know
- 28:20Speaker 6: that seems like it's not a genuine way for me
- 28:24Speaker 6: to discuss this, but I do mean that. I honestly
- 28:27Speaker 6: believe that that more politicians getting some time to not
- 28:31Speaker 6: do this job anymore, as they're getting up in age
- 28:34Speaker 6: and would probably rather do something else. And I know
- 28:37Speaker 6: I've heard from people that say, anybody struggles to retire,
- 28:40Speaker 6: doesn't matter who you are, doesn't matter what job you're doing,
- 28:42Speaker 6: you like working. I get that. In the world of
- 28:45Speaker 6: our politicians. The thing I don't like is the potential
- 28:48Speaker 6: to take multiple months off because of some sort of illness.
- 28:51Speaker 6: In the case of Mitch McConnell, sort of even worrying
- 28:55Speaker 6: that he's no longer on Earth, even though after that
- 28:58Speaker 6: photo and everything, I do believe that was genuine and
- 29:01Speaker 6: not Ai and that's he's at least recovering. But the
- 29:05Speaker 6: freeze ups all the things with him and Diane Feinstein
- 29:08Speaker 6: and so many others that you can talk about where
- 29:10Speaker 6: you just you think to yourself, man, this person really
- 29:14Speaker 6: really shouldn't be in that role for their own well being,
- 29:18Speaker 6: and yet they continue to do it. A one last
- 29:20Speaker 6: piece of audio before we take our second break a
- 29:23Speaker 6: little early, and then we come back. I'll probably do
- 29:26Speaker 6: one or two newsy things, and then we'll have some
- 29:28Speaker 6: fun at the end of the show, because I want
- 29:30Speaker 6: to have fun, but I do want to play this
- 29:32Speaker 6: because I just thought it was so funny. This is
- 29:35Speaker 6: President or excuse me, this is Jesse Waters talking to
- 29:40Speaker 6: Scott Besson about President Trump signing one hundred dollars bills.
- 29:44Speaker 6: And the reason this is funny is because of the
- 29:47Speaker 6: thought that somebody who's liberal, who's Democrat, who hates Trump
- 29:51Speaker 6: so much, if they got one hundred dollar bill with
- 29:54Speaker 6: Trump's signature on it, are they going to like destroy it?
- 29:57Speaker 6: Are they gonna light it on fire? And I thought
- 29:59Speaker 6: that Besson had a really good answer to that question,
- 30:01Speaker 6: when liberals see the signature, are they going to light
- 30:03Speaker 6: it on fire?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's good for the US government when they
- 30:08Speaker 2: do it. So you know, their hair's on fire.
- 30:10Speaker 5: So they should keep the curnesy away from their hair.
- 30:12Speaker 6: Their liars. President, I'll stop it right there. They're liars.
- 30:15Speaker 6: That's what he means. Liar, liar pants and hair on fire.
- 30:19Speaker 6: I love so much about this. It's so great to
- 30:22Speaker 6: me because I think that it is something that could happen.
- 30:25Speaker 6: And honestly, I was thinking about I don't like to
- 30:28Speaker 6: have these thoughts, but I do about COVID and how
- 30:31Speaker 6: ridiculous that time period was in our lives in so
- 30:34Speaker 6: many ways. And one of the funnier things is when
- 30:37Speaker 6: Trump cut the check to all of us and it
- 30:39Speaker 6: was sent out and it had like his signature and
- 30:41Speaker 6: stuff on it. There were actually people that were talking
- 30:44Speaker 6: about not cashing it, Like all of the United States
- 30:46Speaker 6: got checks, and people like I hate Trump so much
- 30:49Speaker 6: that I don't want this free money that got sent
- 30:51Speaker 6: to all of us. I imagine they didn't actually not,
- 30:54Speaker 6: you know, cash it. I imagine everybody begrudgingly cashed it. I
- 30:58Speaker 6: wonder if somebody like scribbled the name or something, which
- 31:01Speaker 6: probably seems like a mistake you wouldn't make. But that
- 31:04Speaker 6: was hilarious to me that people then and now would
- 31:08Speaker 6: be mad about something. I'll tell you this, and I'll
- 31:11Speaker 6: tell you this as plainly as I can. I don't
- 31:13Speaker 6: care whose signature is not a hundred dollar bill. I'm
- 31:16Speaker 6: not going to destroy that. I work in radio. I
- 31:18Speaker 6: need all my hundred dollars bills, I need all my twenties.
- 31:21Speaker 6: I'm not ripping up a five if somebody's name is
- 31:24Speaker 6: on it. So I just think this is so amusing
- 31:26Speaker 6: and sort of so ridiculous that people claim that, you know,
- 31:30Speaker 6: they'd be so mad about this, and I know it's
- 31:32Speaker 6: a variation of the discussion of putting Trump on some
- 31:36Speaker 6: sort of currency, a much higher currency than one hundred
- 31:38Speaker 6: dollars bill, but creating a new bill and throwing Trump's
- 31:41Speaker 6: face on it, and how mad people are in that fight.
- 31:44Speaker 6: I think this is a pretty funny way to troll
- 31:47Speaker 6: people without having to do that. You know, just throwing
- 31:50Speaker 6: the signature on is somehow a problem. It's somehow an issue.
- 31:55Speaker 6: And again, I don't know who you are, I don't
- 31:57Speaker 6: know how much money you have, but if you're a
- 31:58Speaker 6: Democrat who's willing to like the bills on fire, just
- 32:01Speaker 6: give them to me. You can just hand those bubby
- 32:03Speaker 6: those buddies over, those babies, I don't know what I
- 32:06Speaker 6: was trying to say there, over to me, and I'll
- 32:08Speaker 6: figure it out. I'll dispose of them for you. Don't
- 32:10Speaker 6: worry about it. All right, Well, we will take a break.
- 32:13Speaker 6: After the break, we'll come back and just do a
- 32:15Speaker 6: little bit more news. There are some other newsy things
- 32:18Speaker 6: out there to discuss, I promise, and then mostly the
- 32:23Speaker 6: rest of the show is going to be me not
- 32:25Speaker 6: talking about serious stuff because I'll just say this, and
- 32:28Speaker 6: I know I've been saying this for a few days now.
- 32:31Speaker 6: It feels like groundhog Day. You open the computer, you
- 32:34Speaker 6: look at the news, you look at the way that
- 32:36Speaker 6: people are crapping on the president or this administration. And then, actually,
- 32:40Speaker 6: and I'll probably talk about this after the break, you
- 32:42Speaker 6: see consumer index pricing and other things demonstrating the economy
- 32:46Speaker 6: is getting better, and people refuse to even admit that
- 32:49Speaker 6: that's a reality because of how crazy they are. So
- 32:52Speaker 6: that's a real thing that's out there. I'll play some
- 32:54Speaker 6: audio to show that to you. But after we talk
- 32:56Speaker 6: about that the same topic, New Day will go ahead
- 33:00Speaker 6: and do something that's far more entertaining. I have some
- 33:03Speaker 6: silly videos and silly audio to play too, a quick
- 33:05Speaker 6: break a lot more so. Craig Collins show, KSV seven
- 33:09Speaker 6: hundred am, The Voice of Texas.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 33:12Speaker 10: This is our June release the Consumer Price Index. Expecting
- 33:16Speaker 10: a headline number to be negative, negative one tenth percent,
- 33:19Speaker 10: this is four times more negative. Mine is four tenths percent.
- 33:24Speaker 10: That would be the biggest negative drop that we've seen
- 33:27Speaker 10: since four to twenty, since basically COVID timing, which really affected,
- 33:33Speaker 10: of course, all of the inflation data points.
- 33:36Speaker 6: I do kind of like that c NBC stumbled over
- 33:38Speaker 6: four to twenty. They mean April twenty, twenty twenty, because
- 33:42Speaker 6: a bunch of morons and social media were like, oh,
- 33:44Speaker 6: it's pot smoking time, because that's a generic term for
- 33:47Speaker 6: people to smoke pot, which would be a weird way
- 33:50Speaker 6: to celebrate consumer price index going down a bit and
- 33:53Speaker 6: illegal here in Texas. That would be a mistake a
- 33:55Speaker 6: couple ways. But yeah, the consumer Price Index went down
- 33:59Speaker 6: more than expect, four times the amount. As you just heard,
- 34:03Speaker 6: things are going better than many Many people are willing
- 34:06Speaker 6: to admit they're going and nothing, to me is more
- 34:10Speaker 6: likely to sway independent voters than Hey, my life got
- 34:14Speaker 6: better if over the next few months the cost of
- 34:17Speaker 6: things goes down. I was joking about this on the
- 34:20Speaker 6: other thing I was doing today in radio. My wife
- 34:23Speaker 6: loves two things in the grocery store that are not
- 34:26Speaker 6: cheap a lot. She likes the fanciest chicken like whatever,
- 34:29Speaker 6: the organic, cage free, range free something. I can taste
- 34:33Speaker 6: the difference. I'll admit that when she buys the fancy
- 34:35Speaker 6: chicken and the other chicken that I feel like there's
- 34:38Speaker 6: something different about that. She also loves the egg version
- 34:41Speaker 6: of that. I don't know why she wants all of
- 34:43Speaker 6: her chickens to be cage free, whether they're popping out
- 34:45Speaker 6: eggs or they're turning into food themselves. I don't know
- 34:49Speaker 6: what that is, but she loves it. I don't taste
- 34:51Speaker 6: the difference as much in the eggs, but I know
- 34:53Speaker 6: I'd be thrilled if they went down an additional dollar.
- 34:55Speaker 6: They've already gone down, the price has already gotten better.
- 34:58Speaker 6: But every time she grabs the fancy box toward the
- 35:00Speaker 6: top of the shelf, part of me is like it'd
- 35:02Speaker 6: be nice if that kept going the other direction. So
- 35:05Speaker 6: if those things get better as far as your day
- 35:07Speaker 6: to day life goes, and the things that you do
- 35:10Speaker 6: to assess how well the government is doing for you,
- 35:13Speaker 6: a whole lot of Americans, a whole lot of independent voters,
- 35:17Speaker 6: I think, are likely to punch a ticket that says
- 35:19Speaker 6: keep these people in charge. So I do think not
- 35:22Speaker 6: only highlighting the value of what's going on as far
- 35:24Speaker 6: as the economy goes. But even if you go back
- 35:26Speaker 6: to when Trump said, and a lot of people took
- 35:29Speaker 6: it out of context on purpose, that he loved inflation,
- 35:32Speaker 6: because he finished the thought with he loved the version
- 35:36Speaker 6: of the numbers going way down, being up now and
- 35:40Speaker 6: going down more over the next few months, which he
- 35:42Speaker 6: projects to have happen, because of how impactful, how big
- 35:46Speaker 6: of a demonstration it would be to the average American
- 35:48Speaker 6: that hey, things are going well in DC, better than
- 35:51Speaker 6: you think they are. That's what he meant when he
- 35:54Speaker 6: said he didn't love inflation. If it stays, he loves
- 35:57Speaker 6: it if it goes away, and if things get much
- 35:59Speaker 6: better for us, all I want to transition to more
- 36:01Speaker 6: fun stuff. I did watch the home run derby yesterday,
- 36:05Speaker 6: I thought that Netflix did a terrible job. It's a
- 36:08Speaker 6: very easy thing to do the home run Derby, And
- 36:11Speaker 6: I think the Jack who's sitting behind me in one
- 36:13Speaker 6: of these studios, you might even be able to see
- 36:15Speaker 6: him in a camera. He also watched it, Jack, one
- 36:18Speaker 6: of our producers here. But for the home run derby,
- 36:21Speaker 6: you have a camera behind the pitcher and you see
- 36:24Speaker 6: the hitter, and you see the ball get thrown, and
- 36:26Speaker 6: then you switch to the version of the ball flying
- 36:29Speaker 6: out of the stadium. That's all you need. You don't
- 36:31Speaker 6: need seven hundred different clips, a bunch of close ups
- 36:34Speaker 6: of the hitter. I don't really need that very often.
- 36:37Speaker 6: I don't need Will Ferrell at the beginning of the
- 36:39Speaker 6: thing being less funny than I want him to be
- 36:42Speaker 6: and not at all really relevant to baseball, a much
- 36:45Speaker 6: more relevant to a Netflix movie that he's got out
- 36:48Speaker 6: there like. It just wasn't a good production version of
- 36:52Speaker 6: the Home Run Derby, which disappointed me. But it was
- 36:55Speaker 6: a fun derby and a cardinal won for the first
- 36:58Speaker 6: time in Jordan Walker. There was a little bit of
- 37:00Speaker 6: a controversy because the graphic that said that Jordan Walker
- 37:05Speaker 6: won came up before he won. I think it was
- 37:09Speaker 6: during an interview with Kyle Schwarber, and as somebody who's
- 37:11Speaker 6: worked on this kind of stuff, I think you could
- 37:14Speaker 6: be testing graphics. Jordan Walker looked like he might win
- 37:17Speaker 6: this thing with how easy it seemed like it was
- 37:19Speaker 6: for him to crush, you know, pitches, to hit balls out,
- 37:23Speaker 6: and to do it with way less effort than everybody else.
- 37:27Speaker 6: So there might have been people assuming he was going
- 37:28Speaker 6: to win that we're testing a graphic and accidentally put
- 37:31Speaker 6: it on a screen. But I do love the conspiracy
- 37:33Speaker 6: theorists that thought it was you know, the script leaking
- 37:36Speaker 6: early because Walker went on a rally late to actually
- 37:39Speaker 6: win this thing. But none of That's the thing I
- 37:41Speaker 6: actually wanted to talk about. My favorite part of the
- 37:43Speaker 6: entire derby is when Philadelphia Philly fans boot a kid.
- 37:48Speaker 6: This actually happened. I have the audio. Kids are in
- 37:51Speaker 6: the outfield during the home run derby and they're just
- 37:54Speaker 6: catching the balls that don't actually leave the stadium, and
- 37:56Speaker 6: a kid made a pretty good run at a ball
- 37:59Speaker 6: just popped up right up into his dead center field.
- 38:01Speaker 6: He missed it, and the fans booed him. That is brutal.
- 38:06Speaker 6: This is coming from a New York Yankee fan who
- 38:08Speaker 6: knows that a lot of the fans that I would call,
- 38:11Speaker 6: you know, my brothers in arms in the world of
- 38:13Speaker 6: our fandom of a baseball team, are also giant piles
- 38:16Speaker 6: of crap. I get it. New York fans are awful.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Philly fans to me feel worse.
- 38:21Speaker 9: Here we go saying short compacts, trying to keep his
- 38:24Speaker 9: hands above the ball, really really good.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I think that's the first time he kind of like
- 38:29Speaker 2: it was just labor.
- 38:30Speaker 6: It wasn't so much he overswung.
- 38:31Speaker 2: He was just a little bit labor.
- 38:33Speaker 6: Barry Bond's talking, and that's the boeing that you hear
- 38:36Speaker 6: at the end. There they're boeing a kid. I didn't know.
- 38:38Speaker 6: Our computer's broken in the studio, so I couldn't see it.
- 38:40Speaker 6: But Jimmy X is on the phone. Jimmy, how you doing, buddy?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Well, I wasn't going to call in today, but then
- 38:46Speaker 1: you start talking about.
- 38:50Speaker 6: What do you got?
- 38:52Speaker 3: Well?
- 38:52Speaker 1: I was listening earlier, though, I gotta tell you, you know,
- 38:55Speaker 1: because of the coverage of the station and the in
- 38:58Speaker 1: and out of the signal, I heard shower white first time.
- 39:04Speaker 1: So we helped me out.
- 39:09Speaker 6: So I shaved it work today. For anyone that doesn't
- 39:13Speaker 6: know this, and Jimmy doesn't sound like he does, because
- 39:14Speaker 6: my hot water has been off for two days and
- 39:17Speaker 6: my wife did like one of those boil water, take
- 39:19Speaker 6: it up to the shower moves. And I probably shouldn't
- 39:22Speaker 6: have talked about it on the radio, Jimmy, but I did,
- 39:24Speaker 6: and I didn't do that. I did the cold shower,
- 39:26Speaker 6: which was horrible yesterday. But then I brought my stuff
- 39:29Speaker 6: and I shaved here at work today and then Lucas,
- 39:32Speaker 6: our producer, caught me a mid shave, even though I
- 39:35Speaker 6: thought I planned it so i'd be alone in the
- 39:37Speaker 6: bathroom the entire time. That was the story I told
- 39:40Speaker 6: to open the show.
- 39:42Speaker 1: That is hilarious, but I thought.
- 39:45Speaker 6: With you, so that's great.
- 39:48Speaker 1: But man, first of all, you know, I loved the
- 39:54Speaker 1: home run derby my Ton, and I auditioned. He's been
- 39:58Speaker 1: away at college the last few years playing college football
- 40:01Speaker 1: and baseball and traditions. Always you know, we if we're
- 40:05Speaker 1: not here together, we're face timing watching it together. Unfortunately,
- 40:10Speaker 1: last night he had a game in Iowa, and so
- 40:15Speaker 1: you know, I didn't get to catch up with him,
- 40:18Speaker 1: you know, and watch it with him, but I had
- 40:20Speaker 1: no idea Netflix was first of all televising.
- 40:24Speaker 6: Yeah it.
- 40:28Speaker 7: Was.
- 40:28Speaker 1: It just was the new format, spectacular. Love it me too,
- 40:35Speaker 1: but the production of it was just horrendous and big myth.
- 40:41Speaker 6: It's not even that hard, Jimmy, Like the funny thing
- 40:44Speaker 6: is like I could have I could have pulled that off.
- 40:45Speaker 6: It's not that hard to do a home run Derby.
- 40:48Speaker 6: It shouldn't be that hard for Netflix, but they've been
- 40:50Speaker 6: uniquely terrible at any sport. They try to do a
- 40:54Speaker 6: live version of both with the people they choose to
- 40:56Speaker 6: be the anchors covering it, and then just the production
- 41:00Speaker 6: value of it. It's terrible. Yeah, I don't know, because
- 41:04Speaker 6: I also love the home run Derby and I love
- 41:06Speaker 6: the new format. I thought it was the twenty swings
- 41:08Speaker 6: was great. The lack of being able to take a break,
- 41:11Speaker 6: I was a little bad. I want to ask you something, though,
- 41:13Speaker 6: because you reference that you love it and your son
- 41:15Speaker 6: loves it and he plays baseball. Ben Rice did not
- 41:19Speaker 6: do great. He is a New York Yankey. His dad
- 41:23Speaker 6: did throw him the pitches, though. I think he was
- 41:25Speaker 6: one of two guys that had pop throwing the pitches
- 41:28Speaker 6: for the home run derby, and neither of those two
- 41:30Speaker 6: guys made it to the second round. Guys have won
- 41:33Speaker 6: the whole thing inviting their dad to throw to them before.
- 41:36Speaker 6: Do you think that's more important to most of these guys.
- 41:40Speaker 6: They don't care if they win or lose. Something like
- 41:41Speaker 6: the home run derby, the the really cool moment of
- 41:45Speaker 6: having dad be the one to throw you pitches in
- 41:47Speaker 6: that atmosphere just has to be so much better than
- 41:51Speaker 6: anything else.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Craig, did, She's least see the interview with Ben Rice after?
- 41:56Speaker 6: Yes, I did.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I was. I was, You know there was a lot
- 42:04Speaker 1: of humidity in the room because I would. Yeah, right, dude,
- 42:09Speaker 1: It's a dream bro. And and listen, I have thrown
- 42:12Speaker 1: and I am not exaggerating millions of baseballs to my son.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Sure we have, you know, Snowmageddon a few years ago,
- 42:21Speaker 1: whose story My son was a junior in high school. Dude,
- 42:24Speaker 1: we we were out of bad facility getting twings in
- 42:28Speaker 1: during snow Mgeddon Christmas Eve, New Year's the July fourth, Dude,
- 42:35Speaker 1: the kid works and I don't push it.
- 42:37Speaker 2: He works.
- 42:38Speaker 1: So the ability for Ben Rice's dad, first of all,
- 42:44Speaker 1: Don a New York Yankee uniform. Sure go out there
- 42:47Speaker 1: and throw baseballs to his son in front of the world. Dude, money,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you can't put a price tag on that. That was
- 42:55Speaker 1: basable right now.
- 42:56Speaker 6: Plus I did love that a bunch of like not
- 42:58Speaker 6: the actual teams to but a bunch of like the
- 43:01Speaker 6: the pundit ones for the Yankees said that we need
- 43:03Speaker 6: to sign his father because he locked down Ben Rice,
- 43:06Speaker 6: like that was incredible.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I don't know about that. Okay, I'm sixty
- 43:12Speaker 1: two as well, and I don't know if I'd go
- 43:14Speaker 1: out there more than seventy miles, and in fact, I
- 43:16Speaker 1: know I can't gost seventy Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 6: Now, I just thought it was amazing, to be honest,
- 43:23Speaker 6: But again I agree with you that by and large
- 43:25Speaker 6: the Home Run Derby disappointed. Why the hell did they
- 43:27Speaker 6: put it on Netflix. I don't get that. I don't
- 43:29Speaker 6: understand why you forced people to buy a subscription to
- 43:32Speaker 6: something to see something as valuable as the Home Run Derby.
- 43:36Speaker 1: The money and not heavy Chris Berman back back, back, back,
- 43:39Speaker 1: back back, gone.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Yeah, that's insane.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Okay, we're doing it. We're just they were muntane and
- 43:48Speaker 1: they were just they weren't very good, you know, And
- 43:52Speaker 1: then they have Will Ferrell, who at times has been funny.
- 43:55Speaker 6: Sure, no hawk hawk right now? That was that was
- 44:01Speaker 6: brutal for a person who, at times, as I'll admit
- 44:05Speaker 6: like you, is actually entertaining. That was horrible. So don't
- 44:10Speaker 6: do that again. Is there anything else you want to
- 44:12Speaker 6: talk about her? Just the home run derby?
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean just just general stuff. What was the
- 44:18Speaker 1: other topic you were talking about it?
- 44:19Speaker 6: I talked about Lindsay Graham's sister again today. I talked
- 44:22Speaker 6: about data Centersate.
- 44:24Speaker 1: The call out, Appreciate the call out. You're welcome, Yeah,
- 44:28Speaker 1: and then you know, one half of the world cumpass set,
- 44:31Speaker 1: thank god, say.
- 44:33Speaker 6: Friend, Yeah, I saw that today to nothing. Actually, it's funny.
- 44:39Speaker 6: And this relates to the story that I told at
- 44:41Speaker 6: the beginning of the show today that you were making
- 44:43Speaker 6: fun of me of and I deserve. I went to
- 44:45Speaker 6: the Dollar Tree to buy my razors because the trimmer
- 44:49Speaker 6: I brought to work died halfway through shaving my beard,
- 44:53Speaker 6: so I had to go get one dollar raisers. And
- 44:55Speaker 6: the dude at the Dollar Tree was so angry. He
- 44:59Speaker 6: was at work and watching the World Cup. It was
- 45:01Speaker 6: so funny.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Man.
- 45:02Speaker 6: As I was checking out with him, He's like, what's
- 45:04Speaker 6: the score, man, what's the score? Because I had it
- 45:06Speaker 6: on my phone and I'm like, it's nothing. Nothing right now, dude,
- 45:08Speaker 6: it just started. He's like, they wouldn't let me off today.
- 45:11Speaker 6: I want to see this World Cup game. It was crazy,
- 45:14Speaker 6: and I kind of think that maybe part of the
- 45:17Speaker 6: reason he was so entertained or invested is because of
- 45:20Speaker 6: all the excitement that existed this year. I do think
- 45:23Speaker 6: some people became soccer fans in twenty twenty six.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Absolutely, man, I'm trying to get a So you're you're
- 45:31Speaker 1: not on Facebook Live, right?
- 45:33Speaker 6: No, I don't do Facebook Live. I do do everything
- 45:35Speaker 6: else though. So it's on Exit Radio at KSV Radio,
- 45:39Speaker 6: it's on YouTube and rumble.
- 45:43Speaker 9: Bro.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Look at you man stage, Craig Man. Hey, I will
- 45:47Speaker 1: make one one quick comment show. And you know all
- 45:51Speaker 1: these people with the conspiracy theories about.
- 45:54Speaker 6: Mitch mccon his wife.
- 45:56Speaker 1: And his picture. I mean, look, I look. I saw
- 46:01Speaker 1: the newspaper and it said Dewey beach Koman. I mean
- 46:04Speaker 1: it was recent.
- 46:06Speaker 6: Yeah, it's perfect, totally fine. I get it, dude. That's funny.
- 46:10Speaker 6: I thank you for the call, dude. That's great. Yeah,
- 46:14Speaker 6: I get all the AI jokes, by the way, because
- 46:16Speaker 6: AI is insane. And also I get the jokes and
- 46:20Speaker 6: the unwillingness to want to believe a lot of things
- 46:23Speaker 6: that exist in media, because a lot of things are
- 46:25Speaker 6: a lie. I get by those. But I think Mitch
- 46:27Speaker 6: McConnell's life. I'll just go ahead and say that a
- 46:30Speaker 6: couple other quick things before we get out of here.
- 46:32Speaker 6: Beyond the World, Beyond the homerun Derby in the World Cup,
- 46:36Speaker 6: I have another bear story. I don't know if we
- 46:38Speaker 6: should do another bear story. I'll let Lucas decide yes.
- 46:41Speaker 6: He said yes. He put a thumb up for the
- 46:43Speaker 6: bear story. Anchorage, Alaska. A bear wandered into a mall.
- 46:47Speaker 6: I feel like this is the kind of thing that
- 46:49Speaker 6: happens a lot in a place like Anchorage, Alaska, but
- 46:52Speaker 6: they're acting like it didn't. And I saw this viral
- 46:54Speaker 6: video and the description was barber at barber shop reacts
- 46:59Speaker 6: to wild bear. And I'm gonna play the audio for you,
- 47:02Speaker 6: but I think you're going to quickly be able to
- 47:04Speaker 6: tell that I'm pretty sure it's a salon and not
- 47:08Speaker 6: a barber shop because the voice in the face I
- 47:10Speaker 6: was expecting, not the voice in the face you hear
- 47:13Speaker 6: here as a dude reacts to a bear breaking into
- 47:16Speaker 6: a mall.
- 47:17Speaker 2: It was my first running with the bear. It was
- 47:18Speaker 2: pretty scary.
- 47:19Speaker 11: My coworker, who's cutting hair in front of me, she
- 47:22Speaker 11: yelled bear. I looked up from my phone and the
- 47:25Speaker 11: bear was walking into the barbershop right next to me.
- 47:28Speaker 2: I could have pet it, it was that close.
- 47:30Speaker 11: A couple people were going big to scare him out
- 47:32Speaker 11: of the grocery store. He came back around to the
- 47:34Speaker 11: barbershop again, but by that time we were able to
- 47:37Speaker 11: run back lock the door, and then we were watching
- 47:40Speaker 11: him from the window.
- 47:41Speaker 2: That's when used the restroom in the hallway. It was
- 47:44Speaker 2: pretty wild.
- 47:45Speaker 6: Yeah, he left the treat for everybody. Also ate a
- 47:47Speaker 6: peach at some point while wandering through the shopping mall.
- 47:50Speaker 6: The big clue for me that it's a salon and
- 47:53Speaker 6: at a barber shop. He also said my coworker and
- 47:55Speaker 6: then used the word a sheet to describe the other person.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Not a lot of female people work in legit barbershops.
- 48:02Speaker 6: Those are more slans. Occasionally they do the lady barbers
- 48:05Speaker 6: a thing, but by and large not exactly the way
- 48:08Speaker 6: that that goes. I was expecting a very different human.
- 48:12Speaker 6: When I first found that story, a couple other things
- 48:14Speaker 6: out there that I thought were kind of funny audio
- 48:17Speaker 6: before we get out of here. The black bear story
- 48:21Speaker 6: in the Alaskan Mall inspired a lot of people to
- 48:24Speaker 6: share a viral video of a different animal related thing
- 48:28Speaker 6: from twenty twenty four that I also thought was really funny,
- 48:31Speaker 6: and I've thought it was funny since it first happened.
- 48:34Speaker 6: A woman who was feeding raccoons, which you should never do. Like,
- 48:38Speaker 6: out of all the animals that you shouldn't randomly feed
- 48:41Speaker 6: because you think they're cute, raccoon's right at the top
- 48:44Speaker 6: of that list. Because if I were to choose me
- 48:47Speaker 6: versus one bear and me versus one hundred raccoons, I
- 48:51Speaker 6: would pick the bear. I know that I picked the
- 48:53Speaker 6: bear because there's just too much to deal with, and
- 48:55Speaker 6: raccoons seem uniquely insane. But this lady was funded by
- 49:00Speaker 6: what legitimately seems like via the video one hundred raccoons
- 49:04Speaker 6: she called nine one one. Every time you see some
- 49:07Speaker 6: animal story go viral, somebody inevitably shares this. Let's go
- 49:11Speaker 6: hit play on this. I have anywhere from fifty to
- 49:13Speaker 6: one hundred raccoons.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I need an officer.
- 49:16Speaker 4: I'm right in my car.
- 49:17Speaker 8: They chased me all the way out through the backyard.
- 49:20Speaker 7: If you're not able to get out of your car,
- 49:21Speaker 7: you're stuck in your vehicle.
- 49:23Speaker 1: They know that you're a source of food.
- 49:24Speaker 6: So I went thirty hours.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Wow, this just this is.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Probably one thing. A third of them, these gives, they fight.
- 49:34Speaker 6: Yeah, this call came out. I thought you were playing well,
- 49:37Speaker 6: so I had to come out here and see you. No,
- 49:38Speaker 6: it was real. There's one hundred raccoons, uh, surrounding a woman.
- 49:42Speaker 6: The worst story you can ever tell as a brand
- 49:44Speaker 6: new homeowner, which I was when I was living in Illinois,
- 49:47Speaker 6: is when you try decide to face down a raccoon.
- 49:49Speaker 6: It can be in the chimney, it can be in
- 49:52Speaker 6: the trash can, wherever you find one, wherever you locate one.
- 49:56Speaker 6: If you decide today's the day that I fight you,
- 49:59Speaker 6: it's never a fun story. It always ends horribly. My
- 50:03Speaker 6: story that involved a chimney and a raccoon luckily didn't
- 50:06Speaker 6: end with me falling off. And then I got a
- 50:08Speaker 6: buddy of mine, radio friend that lives in Illinois, that
- 50:11Speaker 6: has an incredible story about him. A trash can and
- 50:14Speaker 6: a raccoon that I won't tell you here. I'm sure
- 50:17Speaker 6: it's somewhere on the internet, but just know he took
- 50:21Speaker 6: an l So if you see a raccoon somewhere around you,
- 50:25Speaker 6: I think you don't fight it.
