- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's get into this.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: All right, the Rubib main story.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let me first, what happened?
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: March 17th, 2024, Rubibane gets in a car accident.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: He has destiny bets sitting in the passenger seat to his right.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: He has Wesley Basant, linebacker, also a draft prospect this year sitting in the back left.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Center is another young lady.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to mention her name because it's not necessary and so the right of hers and a jall Kelly who is Defense event for the Miami hurricane's a couple years ago.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: He transferred to UCF So those are the particulars he was driving a land Rover Sport It was the car belong to an NIL
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and I all I guess collective and it was on loan now.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: He was driving on 995 around 150 first street.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: If you ever been around that area
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: At 4am, I don't think it's all that dangerous at rush hour, it can't get dangerous.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: You better be a pretty good driver because people, for whatever reason, especially around that area in particular, people drive extremely aggressively.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: But since it's 4am, I don't think there was that many people on the road, but unfortunately for
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: for Rubin Bane, he did clip what looks like he was trying to change lanes, at least this is the diagram, okay, and this is the diagram that the police have in their police report.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: If you want the police report, I posted it on our discord.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: If not, you could find it pretty much anywhere online, just put police report, Rubin Bane accident, and it'll show up.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: He clips,
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: another person named Jaime Rodriguez who was on driving a Jeep Wrangler 2014 Jeep Wrangler those cars extremely sturdy he clips the right rear quarter panel and that causes Rubin bang to jump two lanes this is remember this is the diagram that the police that the police
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: attached to the police report like this is what they say actually happened.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: And that throws him into the retaining wall wall on the right.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then he overcorrects and slams five lanes over four lanes over into the retaining wall on the left where the vehicle is then stopped.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Now the vehicle did end up moved out of the way into past the express lane, by the way, and it was moved out of harm's way.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: police arrived room bang was cited for careless driving not reckless driving there's a huge distinction here is a big difference okay reckless driving is a criminal charge careless driving is a civil offense that millions of americans uh... commit every single year it's usually the boilerplate
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: citation for when you're in an accident and you're at fault.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously he hits Hayme Rodriguez on the hind quarter panel.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: The car is a total loss by the way that I'm over sport is a total loss Hayme Rodriguez's car the Jeep Wrangler is not a total loss, but extensive damage was done
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, Destiny Betts was incapacitated.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: She was removed from the scene, taken to a hospital where she died months later.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: She was in a coma.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: She passed away.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what is the fallout of all of this?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the vehicle was a line-over sport in 2021.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: Had a state farm in a mutual automobile insurance so it was it was a sure by state farm and again like I like I've said before I was owned by an denial collective.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Miami sports 27 Inc.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: So Destiny bets his family if they wanted to sue
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: for whatever and we don't have the particulars of that because they settled and we don't have any paperwork concerning that they could have sued the insurance company and the insurance company would have paid out okay policy numbers right there and available.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: He was not deemed to be speeding that's key in all of this.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the fallout of all of this, of course, somebody has died, right?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Car was towed from the sea.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody's died, and that is a tragedy.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I'll give you a little background on this story.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: I was first told about this story in November.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: And in fact, I could tell you exactly when it was.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let me, let me look back at Hurricane Schedule because I remember it when what game it was.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I'm doing this again where I'm looking for the schedule.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: All right, here it is, all right.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it was
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's precisely when I thought it was.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: It was right before the Virginia Tech game, which is November 22nd, because it was my birthday's on the 19th.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: So they were at Virginia Tech on November 22nd.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: I was told somewhere around the 19th of my birthday that there's something going on with something went on with Rubin' Bane, then.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: It was a while ago, and I've heard three versions of this, and you know, sometimes you get told something as if,
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: They want you, or the person wants you to do something about it.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: The first time I was told about something going on with Ruben Bane, it really didn't have anything to do with a car accident.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: It had to do with, you know, he was stopped by police and supposedly he was somewhere and he hit a pedestrian is what I was told and that the young lady had died on the scene.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: and I'm like, wait, what?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like he hits somebody.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the way I was originally told, right?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: And that it was him.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: That it was him.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: That was driving.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: It was Ruben Bane.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: That was driving.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I was also told at the same time that the University of Miami had covered it up and then an NIL collective had paid off the victim's family.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: Then I heard a second version.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: The second version
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: that he was forced to transfer because of what happened and that he had hit another car that had a young lady in it and then she died.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: The third version was the closest to what happened in this case, but it also had Nigel Kelly driving the car and the young lady was in the front passenger seat and she died when the car collided with another car.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, although none of these had the particulars that we've gotten with all the columnary story.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I got three different versions none of them were correct.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: I got the sense that the details were off every time I got the story.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not something I'm going to report because I value my assets.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to get sued just to be first on something.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: But the crash report was readily available to anybody that wanted to look for it since 2024 since March 17th of 2024, okay?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, yeah, the recorded time of the crash report, which means I went into their into the system.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think I have the date here.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's whenever they cleared the scene, so it's March 18th, 7.30 a.m.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: So it was basically that, you know, it's the next day.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: So the very next day is when it was actually uploaded into the system.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody could have had this.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: But nobody did.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Because, again, it was, and again, it's tragic that somebody died, but it was a careless driving citation, not even a charge.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what a lot of people are getting wrong, a lot of people are going out there jumping over their skis saying reckless driving charge, no, it's a careless driving citation.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's a massive difference, reckless driving is a criminal offense, careless driving is not, it's a civil offense.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: So, those are the particulars.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: I got the sense that it was being shot for for maximum effect to see who wanted to who wanted to report it.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: If anybody wanted to look for it, they could have found this.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't think it was necessary to look for it because
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: it seemed like a very incomplete story at the time and once we did get the story we realized how incomplete it was and how much of a non-story it actually is and again it's tragic that somebody had to die but it is a tragedy it was an accident simple as that nothing more elegant nothing more deep than that it was an accident
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I want to pay too much too much mind to anybody that's trying to turn this into something more than it already is.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: So will this hurt his draft stock is now the natural question.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's the next thing you the people are asking, right?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it will.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Now his second careless driving
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: His second careless driving citation, that could be an issue, and I guess we'll read something into that, but if we have any more information on that, but it could also be next to nothing important.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, those are the facts, and I've heard Mike Florio and several other people.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard plenty of people go out there, and I guess they think it's cute to try to use that as something to dunk on people saying, Oh, we knew about this ages ago, which is true.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people knew about this.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I was, I was shocked that this many people knew about this, especially yesterday.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday, I had three different texts from three different people telling me the same thing, hey, yeah, just, did you hear about the Rubin' Bain thing?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh, you guys, too?
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, pretty much everybody did know about this.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: This is a fact, everybody did know about what happened.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, let's just leave it there, and the second half of this show, we will take your questions.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: But first, these words.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: And we're back.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right, enough about Ruben Bane, if you have any Ruben Bane questions, I will get to everything in one of them.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's a couple of questions in the chat, and there's a couple more.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: Coming on.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'll ask the first.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'll read the first one the first one is a why are 28 year old Aaron broer and Jordan Brooks considered core members of the rebuild but 27 year old water wasn't
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think for three reasons, the first reason he was more expensive than those two other guys and would be more expensive than those two other guys, if those two other guys got extended, although we don't know where Aaron Brooks, I mean, Aaron Brewer is going to end up because we saw what Linda Brom got and if he gets anything near what title Linda Brom gets, then Aaron Brewer is going to be a pretty expensive proposition.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: I also believe that this regime thinks that both of those players are better players than Jalen Wattel.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: And the third reason is they saw the opportunity to get a first rompick and more for Jalen Wattel and it did not hesitate quite simply because their evaluation of Jalen Wattel is not as rosy as ours.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now in my opinion,
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: The numbers are the numbers and the numbers are going to stay the numbers and they're not going to change.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're only going to get better in Denver.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was 10th and Yard's per route run last year.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: He is consistently in the top 10 in Yard's per target.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: He is a very productive wide receiver.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: He was worth every penny he was being paid and I think he's going to be a very good player for the Denver Broncos.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: But this regime, you know, looked at him a little bit differently.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: And...
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think that they looked at him as the lowest man on that totem pole of the four guys Devon HN, Erumbroor, Jordan Brooks, Jim Lowattle, they looked at him as number four and it saw the opportunity to get a first rompick and more and they took it and you could disagree with that but it's at least staying within their philosophy and their evaluation, they're standing by it kind of blow up in their face, sure
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they could draft a, you know, a bum at 30 and jail of water has a monster year and the Broncos win the Super Bowl because of it and you end up looking like an idiot.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: But it is what it is.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's their evaluation.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're sticking to it.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: And you've got to, you've got to give them a lot of credit for having the courage to actually stick by whatever their evaluation is.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: And they deemed the first front pick that they were going to gain for trading jail in water to be more valuable.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Then a wide receiver a 27-year-old wide receiver and They've kind of been pretty clear about all of this.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: They feel by the time that The Miami Dolphins and this is a direct quote by the time we hit our stride Jane the wall is gonna be pushing 30 so Yeah, they weren't as big a fan of Jane the water as we were
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: All right, next question, hey, if Downs and Final are there at 11, who are they taking your opinion?
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think they will take killer Downs, although, Spencer Final is a guy that they're pretty big fans of, you would guess, right, if, you know, if you're talking about,
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, who is keeping within the Green Bay Packers tradition?
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think Sam and Clancy said it best.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's hard to find another player that's more Packer-ish than Spencer Fano, right?
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, Caleb Downs is one of the best players in the Strap.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the second best player in the Strap.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: I have Sunny Stiles, it's the best player in the Strap.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: Caleb Downs being number two, I think him and Sunny Stiles are the two transformational figures I think in this first round.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning kill downs and sunny styles.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think those are guys that you draft and they immediately elevate a bad defense into a mediocre defense A mediocre defense into a good defense and a good defense into an elite defense So I would take kill downs.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: I would who would they would take?
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea But I would hope that their evaluation would be the same as mine and it would be killed downs
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, next question, why is every national draft analyst taking a wide receiver?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's pretty simple.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: They trade it in the water and national draft analyst just don't know our team as well as we do.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: And they're just doing the simple math that's too much to replacing Jalen Water with the 11th pick overall, makes too much sense to them.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: He continues on with this question.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: We have 13 picks.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: Why does it need to be one?
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: Sounds like they feel like we were wrong for trading model.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: Some, I believe, give off that feeling, right?
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they were wrong.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were just keeping within their philosophy and you gotta give them credit.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's, you know, they're essentially telling you this is our valuation we're sticking to it and we're moving on.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they would take the equivalent
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they would.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think they value Devon HM more than the they value Jeno Wall and John Erick Sullivan kind of was pretty clear.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: He takes the guy touching it 25 times a game over the guy touching it 7 times a game.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, that's...
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, their evaluation, you got to give them credit for it because they're putting themselves up.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: They could easily come out looking pretty bad.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Next question.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Does the maybe back needs cleaned up?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: About Francis Maui Noa.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: They might have to have something cleaned up in his back.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: You never want to hear anything like that, right?
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: Especially for an offensive lineman.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: I will say this, friends smellin' Noah.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: Did not missy practice.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: Did not missy gain at the University of Miami.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: So if he's gonna have availability issues now, that'll be news to me.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: But it is ominous when you hear something about...
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: you know back surgery a clean up a quote unquote clean up yeah that's not good you don't like to hear things like that uh same question if you have final or Maui know of there you taking Maui know even with the I think he's the better player
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: you know i think i think i just think he's a better player uh... same question moving on could you see us drafting three to four offensive linemen three to four no two absolutely i think they'll take an interior offensive linemen and attack in this draft
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Where?
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not so sure.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think they'll take them high.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think uh And when I say hi, I mean in the first two days, okay, so with one of their At least no, at least with two of their first seven picks in this draft, which are all top 100 picks But they have seven top 100 picks.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: So they'll take two offensive linemen.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think within those those seven picks
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: One in Terry one in tackle or maybe a tackle you know that could convert to the interior and another tackle something like that.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think that those are something like that.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: and it could be in the first and it could be in the second.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that it'll be two third rompics.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see that.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think they'll devote one of those high picks either 1130 or 43.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: One of those picks will go for an offensive lineman.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say this.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think Chris Kaufman said it best on the last podcast that we did.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: Usually if you want, you know, a guy who's going to be
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: We never call offensive linemen game changes, but if you want to beat a mover on the offensive line, a guy who's going to step in and play right away Usually you have to invest a very high pick in those guys.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I would expect that they would use either 11 30 or 43 on an offensive linemen and possibly the second offensive linemen in one of those four third rompakes.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: you on a chart uh bait and max in a chart is not even close.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I would want.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if you were talking about it, how concerned are you with bane's crashes, etc.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: How much of a rip flag is it to you, zero?
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: Zero rip flag.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: I want to know about the second the second citation for careless driving.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: It seems that it was dismissed because of what did they what did they call it?
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: It was um,
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: a messy citation or whatever word they use.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: Essentially, it was a poorly written out ticket is essentially what happened.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you a little insight to how that happens for those of you that don't live here.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: We have something called the Ticket Clinic down here.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lawyer's firm that you call, you pay them usually about half of whatever the citation is going to be.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: So like the citations like $250, you pay them like $125, and then they fight to take it for you, okay?
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: Or this is another guy called Hannah.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're not sponsors of the show, so I'm not going to give them commercials on this show, but I have used them before.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: you call them they fight the ticket for you and then they get dismissed that's what it sounds like his second citation was about so I don't think it's that big of a deal and no it's no red flag to me whatsoever
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: Next question.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think water is going to have a massive year.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to have a good year.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yes We need to do our part.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: You don't get with one of the best offensive minds ever with that talent and don't and don't be productive Yeah, I think Jane water's going to have a big year now massive Like all pro Probably not pro ball.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah Like 1200 yards 10 touchdowns.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah something like that.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to have a good year if you ask me whether you should draft a draft this guy Yes, you should draft Jane water.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a word now that Maui Noah turns into Jake Long for us, the Miami curse wall.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you're seeing monsters under your bed, maybe they are, maybe they are under your bed.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, next question, do you believe the third round will make or break the draft?
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: How many picks do we have at the end of Saturday, 13 more or less?
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think the same.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they're going to move off of many of those picks.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're light in the 6th and 7th round, so they're going to have to get into the UDFA market and add about 7 guys at least for camp.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: I would say out of those seven, maybe three make the team, maybe four make the team.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, will the third round make or break the draft?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be target rich, I think this is the very... Every year you know you hear the same thing, right?
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, there's a terrible draft.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this is a great draft.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: Man, I really like the top 100 in this draft.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is a good solid 100 picks, absolutely.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: And if you've listened to me before, if you're listening to me for any amount of time, you know my philosophy on the draft, I consider top 100 picks to be premium picks.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care about anything past that.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think the rest are essentially lottery picks.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like they're scratch off tickets.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: You could be right, you could be wrong, you're more likely to be wrong, maybe you get lucky.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I think you could have a reasonable expectation when you use a top 100 pick.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: and Miami has seven of them so it's going to be an exciting draft.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: I do expect them to do well, you know, it's it's seven bytes at the Apple.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like can you find four starters?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: Can you find three plus starters?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: I would hope so, and I think so.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, just for some reason, I feel like first seven will be office time in times two, why receiver times two?
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: I take one, why receiver off of there, and safety times two, just one safety.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: Then seventh will be maybe a corner back or another safety, possibly a safety.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a running back, just to get a little flavor in there into the back end of that room.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, who are some of the guys in the second and third round that you have convictions about that could be make an impact?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: Skylabel, absolutely.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: Skylabel, why receiver, Connecticut?
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: I have a pretty big conviction on him.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: To the point where I would get a little bit nervous past 43 and maybe think about using a pick to move into that sweet spot of 50 to 70.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: But if not, I'm taking them with my first pick in a third round.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Skylar Bell is a guy that I have a pretty good conviction of, and I don't think the rest of the NFL does, which means that's good for us, or good for us, meaning us fans of Skylar Bell.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the guy I have a pretty big conviction of.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: The other guy that I have a pretty good conviction of that is maybe not a first rounder although I think he's going to be and I don't think my hand is going to get him.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's TJ Parker Edge from Clemson.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: I really like him and the more I look at it, I'm like man, the NFL has to be seeing what I'm seeing, okay?
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: I can't be the only guy, I can't be alone on this island.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he'll be one of those guys that has taken in the 20s and people are gonna be kind of surprised because I think a lot of dolphin fans think that they could get him at 30 or 43 without having to sweat it too much.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: think they're wrong.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he goes in the first round.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: We shall see though, you know, that's the fun thing about the draft.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully they have the same evaluation.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: He has not come in for a 30 visit.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know yet that yet.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: Next question with cash issues.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: We have think few paid UDFA.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like we have had in a few in the past.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: I remember a lot of those are like guarantees.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: I look, it's, you know, he's talking about a hundred grand here, a grand there,
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: On those guys, I don't think that this for an office is going to be interested in paying out bonuses and then cutting players But we do know Stephen Ross has never been cheap about handing over fork and over checks for your DFA's So again, we shall see, but I would think that there's going to be a change in philosophy in that regard with the new regime
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, what's your one-surprise sleeper pick in the top 100 you think Miami goes for hmm now that's a good one, right?
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: one-surprise sleeper pick in the top 100 a surprise a surprise that's a good question.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's much of a surprise because they've been tied to pretty much everybody, right?
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: Then but try I'll give you one look.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you one.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: I will give you one
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: How about they just pop up out of nowhere and use number 43 on Oscar Delt, the titan of Georgia?
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's a surprise for you.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I think that will be a surprise.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, in reality, how big of an impact do second, third rounders have?
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like looking back and draft some classes, have barely any contributors in a whole round.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: What would be a successful draft for you looking back at this class in one to two years' time?
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think a successful draft would be five starters and three plus starters.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: So, meaning three guys that are either pro-boulders or, you know, near pro-boulders and five total contributors.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you could get that out of this draft, it was a pretty successful draft.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: Look, the fact of the matter is, at any given year, when you draft 11 guys, you may sit around and say, Oh, you know, we, we hit it out of the park with these 11 picks, man, we can't fucking miss, right?
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: We got 11 guys out of this draft.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: The truth is that,
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: half of those guys might bust out of the league in two to three years and then you look back at the draft class four or five years down the road and you're like man that was a great draft we had eleven picks and we hit on five starters in that draft that's a great draft that's pretty much the truth I think that's what you're looking for five starters three plus starters out of this draft
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I think one to two years a little close, let's call it three to four years when these players are nearing the end of their initial contracts.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, Joe Draftbowl, both Bell, Wibre Severs, and we then, okay, Nicka Play, ring my bell, music over and over again in the stadium.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you had to bet, what player do you think in the entire draft that's most likely to be a dolphin?
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: Damn, that's a good, it's not a good question because I gotta pick a guy out because that's the thing, I don't know who the hell is gonna be there at 11.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not gonna go with 11.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna try to be, look man, I think if you look at players, if you look at players and you try to compare them similarly to what they had in Green Bay,
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go with this guy you know what I'm trying to I'm trying to figure this out to see if I go with one because look I think Skyther Bell has some Some similarities Romeo dobs although I believe that Skyther Bell is like in my opinion he's like
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's a hard guy to figure out.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: Casey conception is an interesting one.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: To me, he's a Stefan digs dead wringer.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that they would like him.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to go way off the board.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think Bryce Lance, the North Dakota State wide receiver, he's a dead ringer for Christian Watson.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: Big, tall, long, fast, great athlete.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: Not particularly immensely productive, productive nonetheless.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: Man, he has that green bay feel.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I say with one of those third-ron picks, Bryce Lance, of North Dakota State.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's a long shot, but I'm not going to give you, you know, hey, Rubin Bain at 11.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be Rubin Bain.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, I'm not going to give you the easy one.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you wanted me to go on the limb.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: I went out on the limb right there.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: I gave you a third rompick.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: So Bryce Lance of North Dakota State.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: I like him, by the way.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a nice play.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Nate next question.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, uh, last question.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: And this is going to be the last question.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, somebody writes, but Lance will be 24 before week one.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a good shot out.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's that's important that's important.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: I I do have it You know, it could be bullshit.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: It could be nothing This person could have been just making this up, but I'm told that this regime Actually does give a crap about how old players are and if they do then that takes some really good players off the board in my opinion
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: All right, there's gonna be the last question.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_00]: What needs to happen in this draft of players is set up for you to feel a static jury still out we may have another batch.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah Oh wow Estatic I guess if they pick my guys you've been listening to all our draft shows on three white PC and I've been giving out my guys and each each one of the Like you know, I'm a big fan of Scarabel.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a massive county Scott fan I like both UM defense events
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Not a big fan of David Bailey.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: Big fan of TJ Parker though on the age on the edge.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big fan of Francis Moinoa.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: I understand who Spencer Fano is.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a very, very good player.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: I can't, you know, I can't bet an eye.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: If they take him out 11, he's worth the pick.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: Vega, you own it way.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, here's another one.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, essentially if they pick my guys, I'll be ecstatic.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Jerry's still out if there's a mix in there in somewhere.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: We may have another GM, I don't think that there's any way anything that they may do in this draft that may think, you know, make me think, oh my god, these guys suck, you know.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right, that's it.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: This show really, really went long, but I hope you got plenty of information.
