- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always, I invite
- 0:06Speaker 1: you to join along with me in prayer. And I
- 0:09Speaker 1: tell you, when I think about the devastation that is
- 0:14Speaker 1: happening and taking place in our nation all across our nation,
- 0:17Speaker 1: from people having lost their power, no running water, the
- 0:24Speaker 1: loss of life, I am devastated and I definitely want
- 0:28Speaker 1: to pray for our nation. Heavenly Father, we come before
- 0:33Speaker 1: you and humility and faith as our nation faces the
- 0:36Speaker 1: weight of this winter storm. Many are cold, Many are
- 0:40Speaker 1: afraid and exhausted. Some have gone days without power, without heat,
- 0:45Speaker 1: without running water, without rest. Some are grieving the loss
- 0:50Speaker 1: of a loved one. Some are simply trying to survive
- 0:53Speaker 1: another night. Lord, we need you now. Be a shelter
- 0:58Speaker 1: for the family sitting in dark homes. Be warmth for
- 1:01Speaker 1: those wrapped in blankets trying to conserve what little heat
- 1:04Speaker 1: they have. Be provision for those who have lost food, water, transportation,
- 1:09Speaker 1: or even safety. Be comfort for those who are mourning
- 1:12Speaker 1: and cannot even find the words God to pray. Oh Father,
- 1:17Speaker 1: you are a refuge and a strength of very present
- 1:20Speaker 1: help in times of trouble. We ask you to protect
- 1:24Speaker 1: every household. God, protect every child, every elderly person, every
- 1:30Speaker 1: person experiencing homelessness, every soul. Right now, God who feels
- 1:36Speaker 1: forgotten in this moment, we lift up the first responders,
- 1:43Speaker 1: the utility workers, the medical staff, the police officers, the firefighters,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and the emergency crews who are working in brutal conditions.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Cover them. God, keep them safe on icy roads, Keep
- 1:56Speaker 1: them safe in freezing temperatures. Keep them safe God in
- 2:00Speaker 1: these very dangerous situations. Give them strength beyond their own.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Give them wisdom and every decision and protection from all
- 2:08Speaker 1: of arm. Lord, Restore power where it's been lost. Restore
- 2:14Speaker 1: water where systems have failed. Restore hope where despair is
- 2:17Speaker 1: trying to settle. In God, we pray for communities pulling together,
- 2:23Speaker 1: neighbors helping neighbors, strangers becoming family, hands being extended in compassion.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Let this storm not only reveal our vulnerability, but also
- 2:34Speaker 1: awaken our humanity as a nation, as a people. And
- 2:39Speaker 1: for those who have lost loved ones, we ask you
- 2:42Speaker 1: to wrap them in your peace that surpasses all understanding.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Be near to the broken hearted God, let them feel
- 2:49Speaker 1: your presence even in their grief. Father, We declare that
- 2:53Speaker 1: no storm is greater than your authority, no darkness is
- 2:56Speaker 1: stronger than your light,
