In The Secret of the Veda, Sri Aurobindo showed that there is a deep, esoteric sense to the Vedic hymns that is the real sense of the hymns. As part of his review, Sri Aurobindo translated and commented on a number of Hymns to Indra. While there is a chapter devoted to Indra and the Ashwins (Chapter 8, pp. 75-85), and 3 of the Selected Hymns deal wholly or in part with Indra, there is an entire section devoted to Hymns to Indra.
