- 1:36Speaker 1: Great? I'm doing good? What's that mistake?
- 1:39Speaker 4: How you doing doing great?
- 1:41Speaker 1: You're doing great? You better speak up all day long?
- 1:44Speaker 1: I want you chirping a little louder. Yeah, yeah, there
- 1:46Speaker 1: you go, You're good? Got it? Okay, okay, rollins. Of course,
- 1:48Speaker 1: you guys know uh Is who brought us kikiS to Orlando,
- 1:53Speaker 1: the very famous breakfast spot. What oh you didn't know that?
- 1:56Speaker 1: I always don't have a good origin story.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Also that well obviously the queen of soccer in Orlando.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Would you say that's accurate?
- 2:06Speaker 1: I mean retired, ye, I don't think you can be
- 2:09Speaker 1: retired as a queen of soccer forever. The founder of
- 2:13Speaker 1: Orlando City and Orlando Pride. Yeah, there you go. Yes,
- 2:17Speaker 1: that little title, Yeah, that tiny thing. How does that
- 2:20Speaker 1: ring with you? Do you?
- 2:22Speaker 3: It's kind of wild, isn't right? You are the one
- 2:24Speaker 3: of the reasons, actually, you know, one of the main
- 2:26Speaker 3: reasons that we have professional soccer in the city.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Now. That's kind of a cool legacy to have, is
- 2:30Speaker 1: it not. It's really cool.
- 2:32Speaker 4: And I think one of the cool things about the
- 2:34Speaker 4: whole retirement party and the two games, with so many
- 2:39Speaker 4: messages I got from people saying, you know, thank you,
- 2:43Speaker 4: and our family love soccer now or we've become friends
- 2:47Speaker 4: with these people because of going to games.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I finally understand offsides.
- 2:53Speaker 4: But you just see the ripple effect of where yeah
- 2:55Speaker 4: it's gone. But let's just say real radio was an
- 2:58Speaker 4: early adopter Jim Jim Phillips in particular, but obviously in
- 3:03Speaker 4: Jack he really kind of championed ofs and you know,
- 3:07Speaker 4: kept putting our name out there and was determined that
- 3:10Speaker 4: we were we were going to succeed. So thank you
- 3:13Speaker 4: Real Radio.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and it is cool that we are bottom floor
- 3:17Speaker 3: of that stuff with you guys. But I mean, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 3: when you think about the history of professional sports in Orlando,
- 3:22Speaker 3: you know, we've only had a couple of toes to dip,
- 3:24Speaker 3: you know, and we've had a couple of leagues coming
- 3:27Speaker 3: and out. I know, we have the Valkyries now for volleyball,
- 3:29Speaker 3: and we had the Double A Twins here for a
- 3:32Speaker 3: while for baseball. But when it comes to legacy, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 3: professional sports that have stuck around.
- 3:36Speaker 1: What we've had fifteen football teams. Yeah, that's what I'm saying,
- 3:39Speaker 1: that have stuck around.
- 3:40Speaker 3: That was my next you know, you and Pat Williams,
- 3:42Speaker 3: you know, are the people in Orlando responsible for the
- 3:45Speaker 3: franchises that have been in town the longest and I
- 3:48Speaker 3: think have made the biggest impact. That's kind of cool,
- 3:50Speaker 3: It's really cool. Yeah, I mean I'm telling you straight up,
- 3:52Speaker 3: as Orlando and it's cool. It's cool to have you here,
- 3:55Speaker 3: and it's cool that you're friends with us, and also
- 3:57Speaker 3: that you're it's cool that you're a fan of this
- 4:00Speaker 3: station as well. I always see one dude, she text
- 4:02Speaker 3: me all the time, and the noise the hell out
- 4:03Speaker 3: of me.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Wh I'm doing the show. I love it, I love it.
- 4:05Speaker 3: We'll have a good segment and then all of a
- 4:07Speaker 3: sudden here it comes to since my friend k Rowlins, I'm.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Like, what a gig, especially on all topics that have
- 4:13Speaker 1: to do with Great Britain.
- 4:15Speaker 4: You know, because you guys and your British sometimes we
- 4:20Speaker 4: go a little astray in case it's like, uh, yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Well I want to ask you about That's kind of
- 4:26Speaker 3: funny because you know, I again, I know this seems silly.
- 4:28Speaker 3: It's not like you're from you know, from another planet
- 4:31Speaker 3: by any means, But uh, would you say the perceptions
- 4:35Speaker 3: of Americans, the perceptions of Britain and England from Americans
- 4:40Speaker 3: is different than your perception of us.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Do you understand what I'm saying there? Like when you
- 4:44Speaker 1: come to America, when Britain's come to America, is it
- 4:47Speaker 1: everything they've heard or worse? Or is it the other
- 4:50Speaker 1: way around, like when we when I guess when Americans
- 4:52Speaker 1: go to Britain and they see how old everything is
- 4:55Speaker 1: and the established culture that's been there for you know, millennia.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You know, do you think the culture shock is different
- 5:01Speaker 1: from one group or the other.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I mean, having experienced that culture shock, yes, but I
- 5:09Speaker 4: think some of that is more everything. I mean, I
- 5:11Speaker 4: lived in Texas.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Originally, that's double America. Yeah, exactly, that's America with cold foam.
- 5:18Speaker 6: You know.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I had I had a little tiny car at the time,
- 5:21Speaker 4: and I could never find it in a parking lot
- 5:23Speaker 4: because everything was a truck, Like, everything was a truck.
- 5:28Speaker 4: And people having guns that was so alien.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Really, Yeah, you just.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Don't come across from in England, even obviously the police
- 5:35Speaker 4: don't carry them for the most part.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:38Speaker 4: I think the perception sometimes of when Americans go abroad
- 5:42Speaker 4: is it there you know, loud and and you know,
- 5:45Speaker 4: noisy and whatever. I just think they're having a good time.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, you're not wrong. So you've been here for
- 5:52Speaker 1: many years. Obviously you grew up in England. So when
- 5:55Speaker 1: you when when you're here, I mean, do you believe,
- 5:58Speaker 1: like do you believe that we have earned the reputation
- 6:01Speaker 1: globally that we have because I have.
- 6:04Speaker 4: A are we talking now, Well, no one wants to
- 6:07Speaker 4: admit they're Americans.
- 6:10Speaker 3: It's a little different now, But I do remember this,
- 6:12Speaker 3: Like I remember a study I read years and years
- 6:13Speaker 3: and years ago, and what they did was they went
- 6:16Speaker 3: to people from different countries and they asked them what
- 6:18Speaker 3: they thought about Americans and what were the defining characteristics
- 6:22Speaker 3: of Americans? And you got the normal stuff, you know, loud,
- 6:25Speaker 3: kind of obnoxious, uh, you know, bigger than everybody because
- 6:29Speaker 3: we're you know, a little fatter or whatever because the
- 6:31Speaker 3: diet we have here or whatever. But the what the
- 6:33Speaker 3: really unique thing was they said was they said Americans
- 6:37Speaker 3: are all of those things, but if the s hits
- 6:39Speaker 3: the fan in America, all of that goes away and
- 6:42Speaker 3: America comes together and they fight together like they've known
- 6:45Speaker 3: each other since birth. And I thought that was a
- 6:47Speaker 3: really cool, unique perspective globally for what people thought Americans
- 6:51Speaker 3: were because of all the stuff they say about us
- 6:53Speaker 3: like that is kind of superficial. When what they did
- 6:56Speaker 3: say that was cool is as a country, do not
- 6:58Speaker 3: blink with them, because if they will forget all of
- 7:01Speaker 3: that other stuff and they'll come together and they will
- 7:03Speaker 3: they will stop.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Again, I lived in don't mess with Texas, so I
- 7:08Speaker 4: know all about that. But I would just also add though,
- 7:11Speaker 4: the friendliness here. Everyone's I mean, and again I've only
- 7:16Speaker 4: I guess lived in southern state, but everyone's friendly.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Is there a part is there like a like a
- 7:23Speaker 3: city in England that's known to be the nicest like
- 7:27Speaker 3: here in the in the States, we have southern hospitality.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And if you don't believe that exists, you're wrong.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yeah, you are wrong. It is a real thing.
- 7:35Speaker 3: It is overwhelming and if it's your first time experiencing it,
- 7:38Speaker 3: it could it can be jarring.
- 7:41Speaker 4: So it's the It's the opposite way around in England.
- 7:44Speaker 4: The further north you go, and I'm from almost into
- 7:47Speaker 4: the north, the friendlier people get. And my a lot
- 7:51Speaker 4: of my family is from Scotland, and I would say
- 7:54Speaker 4: Scotland is one of the most beautiful friendly. If you
- 7:58Speaker 4: go to a little bed and bread first, you were
- 8:00Speaker 4: going to get treated like a king and a queen,
- 8:03Speaker 4: like they will just spoil you like your family. So yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 4: scott I mean you have to go north.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I've I've got a couple of friends that are
- 8:11Speaker 1: from I want to say it's a Aberdeen, Scotland. I
- 8:14Speaker 1: want to it's either Aberdeen or Cullen. It's one of
- 8:17Speaker 1: those places. And they used to tell me that when
- 8:19Speaker 1: they would go back, if an American friend would come
- 8:22Speaker 1: with them, if you are a male with an American
- 8:25Speaker 1: accent in Scotland, that the girls.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Lose their mind of you. They love American men for
- 8:31Speaker 3: some reason. They love the accent, they love everything about
- 8:33Speaker 3: American dudes.
- 8:35Speaker 4: And it's this obviously the same here. Both my boys,
- 8:38Speaker 4: my sons lived here, both worked for the team, and
- 8:42Speaker 4: their British accents.
- 8:44Speaker 1: The girls crazy.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it was definitely a plus.
- 8:49Speaker 3: You know, Jim, we're talking about cool things and how
- 8:51Speaker 3: cool it is that kay, you know, the Queen of
- 8:53Speaker 3: soccer is here all day today. How awesome was it
- 8:57Speaker 3: having a t FO? And I know that I lost
- 9:00Speaker 3: Jim because I think he just tried to dump me.
- 9:03Speaker 3: He thought I said something bad in a different language.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I got a picture of that tifo, so Jim. A
- 9:07Speaker 3: tifo is basically a gigantic piece of art produced and
- 9:12Speaker 3: made by the fans themselves that then get hung up
- 9:15Speaker 3: in coordination with the with the club, with the club
- 9:19Speaker 3: to make these amazing mosaics and amazing twenty fifty seventy
- 9:25Speaker 3: five feet tall images where fans lift them up. She
- 9:29Speaker 3: got a TIFO on her retirement day, and honestly, as
- 9:34Speaker 3: soon as I saw that, I was like, hell yeah, K.
- 9:37Speaker 3: And then second of all, I was like, new goals.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah you want a TFO? I want a tifo? Yeah,
- 9:42Speaker 3: I gotta stop. My kids would even do one the
- 9:44Speaker 3: size of a paper towel for me.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Well, they they'd kind of done it in the style
- 9:49Speaker 4: of an English postage stamp.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Oh oh wow, look at that that is it's in
- 9:56Speaker 1: the stands, dude, I know, look at that thing.
- 10:01Speaker 3: So there's a sixty foot still image of K just
- 10:05Speaker 3: floating over the supporter session as the fans lifted up
- 10:09Speaker 3: at that at that size, where do you hang it?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Where? Boom is it in?
- 10:14Speaker 4: That's covering my house?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah, So what do you do with that? Because if
- 10:19Speaker 1: you roll that up, it's the size of a rug
- 10:21Speaker 1: that would cover this entire station.
- 10:22Speaker 4: You'd have to ask iron lyon and the ruckus what
- 10:25Speaker 4: they did with it, because I haven't seen it since,
- 10:27Speaker 4: but I was obviously on the pitch at the time
- 10:31Speaker 4: with all four of my kids and we were just crying.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Oh really, Oh my gosh. It was what an honor?
- 10:38Speaker 4: That so emotional?
- 10:39Speaker 1: It is that like the highest honor or something.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I mean, is that base Yeah, as a soccer fan, Yes,
- 10:45Speaker 3: that is the biggest honor that you can give anyone
- 10:49Speaker 3: within the you know, the history.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Of a club.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Jack hasn't on our YouTube channel right now. It's a
- 10:53Speaker 3: Jimp corpra or it's a real radio dot FM slash watch.
- 10:56Speaker 3: You can go right over there and check that out.
- 10:58Speaker 4: And there was a sign of side and one you
- 11:01Speaker 4: can just see and then the other side it said
- 11:04Speaker 4: it had all the cups, all the trophies that we'd won,
- 11:07Speaker 4: and it said under her reign.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Dude, it was epic. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I was on the field and I didn't know about
- 11:15Speaker 3: the tee phone, and then all of a sudden, this
- 11:16Speaker 3: thing gets unveiled.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, well, I got a new bucket list.
- 11:20Speaker 1: What does that stand for? Is that an acronym? Yeah?
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, come on, man, Tarp International Front Office.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's so good. Good job spun that
- 11:33Speaker 1: one out.
- 11:34Speaker 4: They have them all over the world. I mean, it's
- 11:36Speaker 4: not obviously just America that does it. But if there
- 11:38Speaker 4: are any Roucus and Iron Line Firm listening, thank you again,
- 11:43Speaker 4: like it was just such an incredible moment.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, very cool man. Where would your teefot happen at?
- 11:50Speaker 1: If you like? What's Jim's version of a teafo? Is it? Like?
- 11:54Speaker 1: I don't know what happens to me right here on
- 11:56Speaker 1: my own show. This is what happened for a dumpster.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm so glad that somebody who is reputable gets to
- 12:03Speaker 1: see this happen to me in real time. I I
- 12:06Speaker 1: do my best to be nice to this. How about
- 12:08Speaker 1: it covers a giant fire an pile?
- 12:10Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just like spray painted gym spelled wrong over
- 12:14Speaker 3: an ant pile.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Probably the driving range in a really bad course somewhere.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Tifo is an Italian term originating from tapho si, meaning
- 12:23Speaker 1: fans or infected with typhus. Oh that's cool, yeah, to
- 12:29Speaker 1: bring to parties. It's referring to organize elaborate visual displays
- 12:33Speaker 1: by sports supporters, typically soccer fans, including massive banners, cards, suns, flares,
- 12:39Speaker 1: and flags to show passion and loyalty.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Very cool man, that's very cool. I do not have
- 12:45Speaker 3: a tefo anywhere of anything for any reason.
- 12:47Speaker 4: It's not in your contract.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It's not in my contract. Due four.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Text seven seven zero three one. Jack you got some
- 12:58Speaker 3: news between mercy listens.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we got a bunch happening today. We'll find
- 13:05Speaker 1: out about a little chalk art. We'll also find out
- 13:08Speaker 1: about pregaming, why we're gonna do it like it's nineteen
- 13:12Speaker 1: ninety nine. And also we'll see what's on draft. You
- 13:16Speaker 1: got it, buddy.
- 13:16Speaker 3: We'll take a little break, come back and get Jackson
- 13:18Speaker 3: news and continue with the Jim Colbert.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Joe Today is mo better with the Ross Paget sponsored
- 13:24Speaker 2: by Jess Como, Orlando's injury attorneys.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Happy bike Fest Jim Colvert can come. Hey, I just
- 13:35Speaker 1: want to put out.
- 13:35Speaker 8: This message to everybody in and around to various Fruitland Park,
- 13:40Speaker 8: the villagers, Leesburg, especially wild Wood. There's a ton of
- 13:45Speaker 8: motorcycles on the road. Bike Fest is happening all weekend.
- 13:48Speaker 8: Everybody just drive smart please, I've lost enough friends already
- 13:52Speaker 8: have died on motorcycles.
- 13:55Speaker 1: That includes you guys on the Motorcyclesta. I'm smart out there, man. Yeah,
- 14:00Speaker 1: don't be an asked.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Yeah, guys who got there acting the pool sometimes. And
- 14:03Speaker 3: I used to ride all the time in Daytona up
- 14:05Speaker 3: through there for years. I rode through by weeks and
- 14:07Speaker 3: and I I heard guys, and I agree with Mike
- 14:09Speaker 3: one hundred percent. You know, you really have to be
- 14:10Speaker 3: careful because these things can sneak up on you. But
- 14:13Speaker 3: I also know dudes get out there and start having
- 14:14Speaker 3: a good time and uh, you know, started kind of
- 14:17Speaker 3: having a good time and maybe they're not paying attention.
- 14:19Speaker 3: So it's a it's a two way road there. But
- 14:21Speaker 3: you're a one hundred percent right, Mike. You gotta be
- 14:23Speaker 3: a little bit more aware of these few days up
- 14:25Speaker 3: in Leesburg over one hundred thousand people.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Or something of a less screen time while you're driving. Yeah,
- 14:29Speaker 1: that'd be great.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah, all right for seven nine one six one o
- 14:32Speaker 3: four one textuff seven seven zero three one grand. By
- 14:35Speaker 3: the way, is your three o'clock keyword, it's g R

- 14:58Speaker 9: Course the news song a June Colmer.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Show, Hello Ross Hello, Hello. No, No, nope, nope no,
- 15:07Speaker 1: all right, we got all day to work on it.
- 15:09Speaker 1: The heat is on, boys and girls. While it might
- 15:12Speaker 1: be nice today and it's set double edged sword. Okay,
- 15:15Speaker 1: it's nice for us, but it also bad for wildfires
- 15:18Speaker 1: with this dryer and cooler air, with that light wind.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And of of course we've been dealing with wildfire conditions
- 15:24Speaker 1: here in the state of Florida and all the way
- 15:26Speaker 1: up into Georgia as well. But these mild days will
- 15:30Speaker 1: not last because a massive warm up is coming our way.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Long range models are now locking onto a dome of
- 15:36Speaker 1: high pressure building up over the Caribbean, and by late
- 15:40Speaker 1: April we'll talking next week, you can expect to push
- 15:43Speaker 1: Central Florida highs into the mid to upper ninety damn dude.
- 15:47Speaker 1: The first weekend of May nearly ten to twelve degree
- 15:51Speaker 1: at twelve degrees above average for this time of year.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Even one model has it flirting with one hundred degrees. Wow. Yeah,
- 16:00Speaker 1: fun summer call. Mills. Yeah yeah, make sure to words
- 16:06Speaker 1: have never been spoken. Make sure your aces tune up.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You gotta clean filter, I'll clean out the line. Whatever
- 16:11Speaker 1: you have to do there. Get that tune up done now,
- 16:14Speaker 1: because when that, when that temperature hits one hundred, yeah,
- 16:18Speaker 1: a lot more people are gonna be calling, it's here,
- 16:21Speaker 1: it's here. Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 3: The whole reason why people do not like living here
- 16:25Speaker 3: during the these times. It's here summer, everything's wet now, Well.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It won't be too bad right now because although it'll
- 16:31Speaker 1: be hot, it won't be humid yet. It's when the
- 16:33Speaker 1: humidity kicks in when it's misery, and that happens around June.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Beginning in June. No, yeah, oh first blast, yeah, well,
- 16:42Speaker 1: chalk it up. The state attorneys dropping all charges in
- 16:45Speaker 1: the Pulse Crosswalk chalk arrests six people who were arrested
- 16:49Speaker 1: for chalking on the Rainbow cross. Sure your ace's tune up,
- 16:52Speaker 1: you gotta clean, filter out, clean out the line, whatever
- 16:55Speaker 1: you have to do there. Get that tune up done now,
- 16:58Speaker 1: because when that, when that temperature hits one hundred, yeah,
- 17:02Speaker 1: a lot more people are gonna be calling, it's here,
- 17:04Speaker 1: it's here. Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 3: The whole reason why people do not like living here
- 17:09Speaker 3: during these times.
- 17:11Speaker 1: It's here summer, every dingy's wet.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Now, well, it won't be too bad right now because
- 17:15Speaker 3: although it'll be hot, it won't be humid yet. It's
- 17:17Speaker 3: when the humidity kicks in when it's misery, and that
- 17:20Speaker 3: happens around June.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Beginning of June. No yeah, oh first blast, yeah yeah, well,
- 17:26Speaker 1: chalk it up. The state attorney is dropping all charges
- 17:28Speaker 1: in the Pulse Crosswalk chalk arrests. Six people who were
- 17:32Speaker 1: arrested for chalking on the Rainbow Crosswalk outside the Pulse
- 17:36Speaker 1: night Club Memorial will face no charges. Orange Jossi olda
- 17:40Speaker 1: state attorney in Monique Warrel, announced earlier today that the
- 17:44Speaker 1: state had previously erased the Rainbow crosswalk overnight without notice,
- 17:49Speaker 1: and protesters responded by drawing it in chalk. F Dot
- 17:53Speaker 1: claim that the chalk cleanup costs over a thousand bucks,
- 17:56Speaker 1: enough to potentially meet the criminal mischief threshold, but Warrell
- 18:00Speaker 1: said that the case fell apart because a heavy rainstorm
- 18:03Speaker 1: erased the chalk, meaning there was no actual permanent damage.
- 18:08Speaker 1: To prove check this out, two senior attorneys had to
- 18:12Speaker 1: spend more than one hundred hours reviewing the cases. Before
- 18:15Speaker 1: they could come to this conclusion, Warrel was careful to add,
- 18:18Speaker 1: this does not mean it's open season on chalk art. No, no, no, no,
- 18:22Speaker 1: it doesn't.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But the hundred hours huh yeah, those people are off
- 18:25Speaker 1: the hook. Three hundred and fifty bucks an hour and
- 18:26Speaker 1: then billable hours. Very good. A law student, all you
- 18:30Speaker 1: want to say, I like giving you a little good news.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I like to sprinkle it throughout.
- 18:33Speaker 7: You know.
- 18:34Speaker 1: It's like the little store baty palat cleanser. Law student
- 18:38Speaker 1: gives part of her liver to a four year old
- 18:41Speaker 1: in Orlando. It's a living donor operation and it's a
- 18:45Speaker 1: miracle story. And it was all started with a Facebook post. Right.
- 18:49Speaker 1: A Jacksonville law student saw a mom's plea online for
- 18:53Speaker 1: a liver donor for her four year old son, Nolan.
- 18:56Speaker 1: He was battling a rare and life threatening condition, and
- 18:58Speaker 1: without ever meeting the family, she picked up the phone
- 19:02Speaker 1: and volunteered. After Jim, I know you would do this. Yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 1: after testing that twice this morning, she turned out to
- 19:08Speaker 1: be a perfect match. Is that like, you do it
- 19:11Speaker 1: and then you're helping, they say, I'm sorry, you're not.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Imagine your car, Oh my god, oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah,
- 19:16Speaker 1: like gas money. She was a perfect match. And in January,
- 19:21Speaker 1: doctors right here at Advent Health in Orlando performed the
- 19:24Speaker 1: region's first living donor liver liver transplant through their new program,
- 19:29Speaker 1: and today Nolan is recovering well with what Mom calls
- 19:32Speaker 1: is a night and day difference and energy. Doctor say
- 19:35Speaker 1: the transplant didn't just help, it saved his life.
- 19:38Speaker 9: Wow.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Crazy. Yes.
- 19:39Speaker 3: I saw a video the other day where a dad
- 19:41Speaker 3: got a new kidney and he didn't know who the
- 19:43Speaker 3: donor was. And then he's sitting there in his chair
- 19:46Speaker 3: in his hospital room and his daughter walks through the
- 19:49Speaker 3: door with one of those ivy things that you can
- 19:52Speaker 3: push with you as you go from nord to door,
- 19:54Speaker 3: and he just found out at that moment on camera
- 19:56Speaker 3: his daughter was the one who donated the kidney to
- 19:58Speaker 3: save his life. Oh man, I'm not crying. One of
- 20:02Speaker 3: the coolest things. I don't know why. I find the
- 20:04Speaker 3: liver fascinating by far my favorite organ really in the
- 20:08Speaker 3: human body, big then of the heart by far. You
- 20:11Speaker 3: know what the liver can do, which regenerates like wolverine,
- 20:14Speaker 3: like a lizard tale.
- 20:15Speaker 1: That's what's happened. Like they only needed a piece of it.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And it's a living donor transplant to say, we'll just
- 20:21Speaker 1: didn't borrow a little piece. Let it grow in the boy. Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 1: it grows like a damn pokemon. Here, you can have
- 20:26Speaker 1: the piece. I haven't ruined with alcohol like a starfish.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Yeah, like a starfish. Deliver is fascinating, Patrick Deliver. It's
- 20:33Speaker 3: a fun YouTube wormhole, all right.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Speaking it stay away from the.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Starfish, worms and sloths. Oh my sloth World. The saga continues,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and now they're not even open for business yet, and
- 20:47Speaker 1: it's just every day there's something a new twist and
- 20:50Speaker 1: turn in this story. A central Florida family is now
- 20:53Speaker 1: asking for their money back because remember they were soliciting
- 20:57Speaker 1: people to in advance of opening. They were looking for
- 21:00Speaker 1: a little capital I think by your season ticket to
- 21:03Speaker 1: get your season ticket, get your tickets now for the opening.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And this Well Florida family took advantage of that for
- 21:11Speaker 1: their eleven year old son, Brendan Mark, and he was
- 21:14Speaker 1: thrilled when his parents surprised him with tickets to the
- 21:17Speaker 1: planned sloth World on I Drive. But those plans are
- 21:20Speaker 1: now off. State wildlife investigators talk about the thirty one
- 21:24Speaker 1: deaths after being chipped to Florida House in the nearby warehouse.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I know we're going to have an update on this
- 21:30Speaker 1: story from Danny in the five o'clock hour, so we'll
- 21:34Speaker 1: get that the family's heartbroken, but they say they cannot
- 21:36Speaker 1: support this attraction even if it does eventually open. Where
- 21:40Speaker 1: now that seems to be a coin flip and they
- 21:42Speaker 1: want their nearly three hundred dollars refunded. Yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Man, it's a nasty story and made national news today.
- 21:48Speaker 3: It was in three of my next TBS Newsweek and
- 21:51Speaker 3: I can't remember who else had.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It as a feature story today, But Kay Rowlin seems
- 21:55Speaker 1: to be a big supporter. She has a Sloth World
- 21:57Speaker 1: mousepad right right in front of her that you would
- 22:01Speaker 1: have thought, deb who would have thought?
- 22:04Speaker 4: But you know what was kind of funny about it anyway,
- 22:07Speaker 4: You were only going to be able to look at them. Yeah,
- 22:10Speaker 4: there's no there was no holding them, no interaction there, no,
- 22:14Speaker 4: you know what, they just sit there all day. If
- 22:18Speaker 4: you want to go see one, they have them at
- 22:20Speaker 4: this They have one at the Science Center. Yeah, it's
- 22:24Speaker 4: in very good conditions.
- 22:25Speaker 1: And the Orlando Science Center that new exhibit they have
- 22:27Speaker 1: on that Battom Floor is fantastic bad. Yeah, it's pretty
- 22:30Speaker 1: cool and they have a lot of things happening in
- 22:32Speaker 1: the Science Center this summer. Definitely worth a check. Yes, uh, Jim,
- 22:37Speaker 1: are you against using AI to help you in competition
- 22:41Speaker 1: in sports? Oh? No, I mean no, I mean it's
- 22:44Speaker 1: not it's not performance enhancing, You're not You're not changing
- 22:47Speaker 1: your body's chemical makeup to be poor, be better at
- 22:51Speaker 1: what you do. So yeah, I got no problem with that.
- 22:53Speaker 1: You got no problem with people using AI in competition?
- 22:56Speaker 1: What do you mean? I kind of don't understand what
- 22:58Speaker 1: you're saying. Then maybe that, well, I don't know how
- 23:01Speaker 1: you can use AI in a competition if someone could
- 23:05Speaker 1: like have a device on them that uses AI and
- 23:08Speaker 1: it helps them perform better. Oh no, you can't do that.
- 23:11Speaker 1: You can't do that unless everybody has it. You heartless
- 23:13Speaker 1: bass vote them. Running past Buckingham Palace was once unimaginable
- 23:20Speaker 1: to Tilly Dowler. Now she's training for the London Marathon. Dowler,
- 23:24Speaker 1: who is just ten percent use of her vision due
- 23:27Speaker 1: to starguard disease. Remember Jim did not want her to run.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Only started running last year because she's using AI powered
- 23:35Speaker 1: smart glasses to help guide her. The glasses provide live
- 23:39Speaker 1: audio clues about landmarks and distance, while allowing her to
- 23:42Speaker 1: hear her guide runner and music at the same time.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Dollar says, the goal is in speed. It's inspiring others
- 23:48Speaker 1: with site loss to believe more as possible. We're sorry,
- 23:52Speaker 1: Jim does not support your cause, Toady. Yeah, I do
- 23:55Speaker 1: not agree with that. They should not be able to
- 23:57Speaker 1: use it. She should just run in designs like she
- 23:59Speaker 1: would normally do. Ouch. Ouch.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Absolutely love the fact that Jack didn't get the answer
- 24:06Speaker 3: that he wanted, so he just reworded it until he
- 24:09Speaker 3: got his.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 3: No, he shouldn't be allowed. Yeah, she's blind, Jim, you.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Can't, Seyboddy. I had to work for that one. Yeah,
- 24:16Speaker 1: you realized. Thank you, Thank you for noticing you wasn't fishing, dude.
- 24:19Speaker 3: That was like a Matrix neo bullet dog scene.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Speaking of sports, what's on draft?
- 24:26Speaker 10: Uh?
- 24:26Speaker 1: While the number one overall pick in the twenty twenty
- 24:29Speaker 1: six NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Vegas Raiders selected quarterback
- 24:33Speaker 1: Fernando Mendoza from Indiana University Minoda. Mendoza Heisman Trophy winner
- 24:39Speaker 1: and national champ in twenty twenty five all but ensuring
- 24:42Speaker 1: a trip to the next Super Bowl for the Raiders. Yeah,
- 24:46Speaker 1: not gonna happen. Whoa, it's not gonna happen.
- 24:50Speaker 9: And uh a rado.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Yeah, this guy is a This guy's a dud though,
- 24:54Speaker 3: I gotta tell you, during his interview, I was like, man,
- 24:56Speaker 3: this guy is a dud.
- 24:57Speaker 1: He sounds like a dud. I a good story. I'm
- 25:00Speaker 1: not taking that away from him, but it's just I
- 25:02Speaker 1: don't know. Oh, you want someone who does commercials?
- 25:04Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, excitement. It's the Raiders. Do they need everything
- 25:07Speaker 3: they can get? No, they are terrible. They need someone
- 25:10Speaker 3: who does not throw interceptions. Yeah, that's what they need.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Well, here's the bad news.
- 25:14Speaker 3: You got a little identity crisis now with Mendoza over
- 25:17Speaker 3: at the Raiders, because what Jim is saying is what
- 25:20Speaker 3: I agree with. He's the opposite of Raider culture.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Couldn't be less raider. I mean he is as well.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I guess maybe he's Brady culture and Brady's not part
- 25:30Speaker 3: of that thing. Now, culture sumulture. We want wins. Yeah yeah,
- 25:34Speaker 3: but man, you're about to just get like whitebread with
- 25:37Speaker 3: fro yo and salt as a spice.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Does it come with touchdowns? Yeah, it might take it.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You just got black beans with no onions? Yeah something man,
- 25:48Speaker 1: no knock it sometimes you know, onions can upset the tummy.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Well locally in the draft, uc F is celebrating the
- 25:54Speaker 1: Big Night in the NFL Draft because Knight's defensive end,
- 25:58Speaker 1: Malaki Lawrence, was taken in the first round, going twenty
- 26:01Speaker 1: third overall to the Cowboys. That makes him the first
- 26:04Speaker 1: UCF player drafted in Round one since twenty eighteen and
- 26:08Speaker 1: just the fifth night ever to hit that mile. So
- 26:11Speaker 1: that's cool. I saw that this morning. Pretty neat a
- 26:14Speaker 1: Orlando neighborhood is going viral. You know those free little
- 26:18Speaker 1: library things that you have. You see him on a post, Yeah, yeah, sure,
- 26:22Speaker 1: yea yeah. It's like little boxes, book boxes. Yeah yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 1: you leave one, you take water. Yeah. Well guess what
- 26:28Speaker 1: they're filling this one with snacks and it's gone viral,
- 26:31Speaker 1: the free book library. They instead of novels, the book
- 26:35Speaker 1: is stock daily with chips, granola bars, bottled water for
- 26:39Speaker 1: anyone who needs it. The idea started as a way
- 26:42Speaker 1: to help kids walking home from school and quickly turned
- 26:44Speaker 1: into a community supported project. Neighborhoods are now contributing food
- 26:48Speaker 1: items regularly turning into a mini mutual Aida online people
- 26:53Speaker 1: are calling it the most Florida version of a library ever.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah because instead of a book,
- 26:59Speaker 1: you get a twin. Yep, tonight we're going a pregame
- 27:02Speaker 1: like it's nineteen ninety nine, baby, and why are we
- 27:05Speaker 1: doing that? New survey shows nearly one in three adults
- 27:08Speaker 1: are having drinks at home before heading out. Yeah, sure,
- 27:12Speaker 1: why that's happening because it's expensive as blank to drink
- 27:16Speaker 1: out anymore. That's what it says here. It's expensive as blank.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's called prinking in England, prinking pre drinking.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Oh that's funny. I like that. Yeah.
- 27:25Speaker 3: By the way, that's happening for people who go out
- 27:27Speaker 3: to eat these days as well, because the average prices
- 27:30Speaker 3: of a cocktail at a restaurant now is about twenty
- 27:32Speaker 3: one dollars. So you go into a you know, to
- 27:35Speaker 3: a nice restaurant and you just have two cocktails, that's
- 27:38Speaker 3: eighty dollars added your ticket. So now people are like
- 27:41Speaker 3: having wine at home then they're going out.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a big trend now. Yeah, and see what
- 27:46Speaker 1: works if you're going to an event like a concert.
- 27:49Speaker 1: One concert. Go is that you recently saw a single
- 27:51Speaker 1: kind of white clog going for twenty bucks at a
- 27:53Speaker 1: concert and said, that's why she's glad she pregamed. Even
- 27:57Speaker 1: big liquor companies are noticing. Sales of mini bottles are
- 28:01Speaker 1: up as people try to stretch their dollars and some
- 28:04Speaker 1: are skipping alcohol all together. And for about forty one
- 28:08Speaker 1: percent of people say they're choosing water or non alcoholic
- 28:10Speaker 1: drinks instead. Yeah, yeah, I do that a little more.
- 28:13Speaker 1: It's just, you know, if i'm if i'm out, if
- 28:16Speaker 1: i'm driving, I'm just just keep it water. When Tori
- 28:19Speaker 1: and I go out and around in Lake County, Mount
- 28:21Speaker 1: Dora or Leesburg area, out there to areas if we're
- 28:22Speaker 1: gonna step out, we've started kind of doing that as well,
- 28:25Speaker 1: have a glass of wine or a beer before we leave.
- 28:27Speaker 1: That way we can get to the restaurant.
- 28:28Speaker 3: We can just have one more and you know, and
- 28:31Speaker 3: that kind of suffices without spending all that money.
- 28:33Speaker 1: All right, Jimmy, you've been saying you've been promoting the
- 28:37Speaker 1: idea of trade schools for years on this program, and
- 28:41Speaker 1: some Florida students are taking note and increasingly choosing career
- 28:46Speaker 1: paths based on one specific filter, Can artificial intelligence take
- 28:51Speaker 1: this job?
- 28:52Speaker 9: Right?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah? Kay and I were literally just talking about it
- 28:54Speaker 1: right before we came back on the air. Spectrum news
- 28:56Speaker 1: that a report found that high schoolers and college students
- 28:59Speaker 1: across the state are seering towards trades, healthcare, law, and
- 29:04Speaker 1: social work fields where human judgment and physical presence are
- 29:08Speaker 1: still required. It's a fascinating generational shift, driven almost entirely
- 29:13Speaker 1: by fear of automation. Career counselor say. The trend is accelerating,
- 29:17Speaker 1: with students actively researching which professions are considered AI resilient
- 29:23Speaker 1: before committing to a major META and Amazon announced today
- 29:26Speaker 1: they're cutting tens of thousands of jobs. I think a
- 29:29Speaker 1: META is eight thousand, and I want to say Amazon
- 29:32Speaker 1: is six to eight thousand jobs just today, two companies
- 29:36Speaker 1: fourteen plus thousand dollars, fourteen plus thousand jobs. Good news
- 29:41Speaker 1: for those people using ozembic or any GLP one science.
- 29:47Speaker 1: There's a story now that just released this week that
- 29:52Speaker 1: is the because the concern was once you go off
- 29:54Speaker 1: the GLP ones and that weight comes back or however,
- 29:58Speaker 1: a clinical trial published this week found that a minimally
- 30:02Speaker 1: invasive procedure called here we go. Ukosyl resurfacing may help
- 30:09Speaker 1: keep people people keep the weight off after stopping their
- 30:13Speaker 1: g O P one drugs LIKEVI. Is that Is that
- 30:17Speaker 1: just a fancy way of saying they're gonna sew their
- 30:19Speaker 1: fingers together? No, it is not. Instead, the gut reset
- 30:23Speaker 1: procedure works by resurfacing the lining of the altering do
- 30:31Speaker 1: you mean do a dim? Okay, you give yourself a dome?
- 30:38Speaker 10: Like?
- 30:38Speaker 4: Are you not? A buzzer?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Is good?
- 30:41Speaker 4: There we go?
- 30:44Speaker 1: Yes, all right? Always called the thanks I'm dressing. She
- 30:54Speaker 1: doesn't even have the word in front of her. She
- 30:56Speaker 1: got it right. It's altered how the intestine process is new.
- 31:00Speaker 1: It's still in an early stage, but researchers are calling
- 31:03Speaker 1: the results promising and uh, there you go. So, but
- 31:07Speaker 1: it's hope for people that want to get out the
- 31:10Speaker 1: drugs and keep the weight off. Yeah, you know, no,
- 31:13Speaker 1: this is bad news. I don't like it. I don't
- 31:15Speaker 1: like it at all. Anything to avoid exercise and diety.
- 31:18Speaker 1: This is the reason why I don't like it. Everything.
- 31:20Speaker 1: It reminds me of this.
- 31:22Speaker 3: When I was younger and I was into raves, my
- 31:25Speaker 3: friend would be like, yeah, man, if you take this,
- 31:27Speaker 3: You'll have a blast. I'll be like, but the next
- 31:29Speaker 3: day it's gonna suck. Right, he goes, that's why you
- 31:32Speaker 3: also gotta take this. And it's the same exact thing
- 31:37Speaker 3: of like, hey, all you need is a little surgery. Right,
- 31:40Speaker 3: it's to fix for the fix. It's a fix for
- 31:42Speaker 3: the fix. There's Robin Perry, Robin Mary giving it to
- 31:46Speaker 3: Paul or whatever the saying is.
- 31:48Speaker 1: But with your body on the line, Yeah, I don't
- 31:50Speaker 1: like it. Finally, the Lucia County man called nine to
- 31:52Speaker 1: one one couldn't find a sandwich. They came found it
- 31:54Speaker 1: in the fridge. For god, he put it there. They
- 31:57Speaker 1: want to remind you don't use nine one one. Oh
- 32:00Speaker 1: my god.
- 32:01Speaker 3: They should charge him for that, right, don't they usually
- 32:03Speaker 3: do that? If you call nine one one for some
- 32:05Speaker 3: stupid reason, they can actually charge you for it. It's
- 32:07Speaker 3: like fifteen hundred bucks.
- 32:09Speaker 1: He was suffering. Jim the man admitted he might have
- 32:11Speaker 1: been a little too hungry. The three thinks, right, okay,
- 32:14Speaker 1: is that what it was? Yeah, I'm sorry. Can you
- 32:16Speaker 1: be hungry enough to write a check?
- 32:17Speaker 9: Did?
- 32:17Speaker 1: I'd be popping you for that. That's ridiculous.

- 35:19Speaker 1: Good to see you and happy retirement.
- 35:21Speaker 4: K Thank you so much. It's amazing.
- 35:24Speaker 3: I was just telling her how much I loathe your ass,
- 35:26Speaker 3: and she was just saying she bumped into you recently
- 35:29Speaker 3: at a restaurant. I said, did you wash the arm?
- 35:32Speaker 3: Very important?
- 35:33Speaker 4: We were actually at a Star very soon after it opened.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Right yep, very soon after. Yeah, you're there with Beth Hobart,
- 35:41Speaker 1: who I think was just named.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Yes Businesswoman of the Year by the OBJ. Yeah, she's
- 35:47Speaker 4: one of my besties. I'm proud of her.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Beth Robart shout out, yeah, sweet, Well, you know if
- 35:53Speaker 1: I has joins us every Friday around this time to
- 35:55Speaker 1: kind of go around and talk about what's happening in
- 35:56Speaker 1: the central Florida culinary scene. And first things we do
- 35:59Speaker 1: is start off with a review. Let's talk about Roma's Bistro.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Roma's Bistro. Now, excuse me if I say Roma's Bistro
- 36:07Speaker 1: to you, Jim, what what kind of food do you
- 36:09Speaker 1: think they serve? Yeah? With the Italian buddy, I think
- 36:11Speaker 1: most people would say Italian, right, yeah, yeah, you'd be
- 36:13Speaker 1: completely wrong because they serve, they serve you idiot, no fool,
- 36:21Speaker 1: They serve. They serve Honduran and Mexican eats out of
- 36:25Speaker 1: a out of the Marathon gas station in Castleburry, all
- 36:28Speaker 1: the places. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's uh okay, yeah,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you know, you know what. So, so the reason I
- 36:37Speaker 1: did this is because it's the fifth anniversary of the
- 36:39Speaker 1: untimely passing of a gentleman named Chuck Cobb. And Chuck
- 36:43Speaker 1: Cobb he ran a You ever had a barbecue joint
- 36:46Speaker 1: called Getting Missy Barbecue? I believe, Yeah, I remember that. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: you ran out ran it out of a sick Go
- 36:51Speaker 1: quick Mark gas station somewhere somewhere near Winner Park. And
- 36:55Speaker 1: so I thought, you know, it's high time I re
- 36:57Speaker 1: explored our fuel station eats. And this is one place
- 37:00Speaker 1: I highly recommend. It's it's in Castlebury. I believe it's
- 37:03Speaker 1: State Road for thirty six, eight fifteen. I think State
- 37:09Speaker 1: Road for thirty six. I think eight to fifteen. And
- 37:12Speaker 1: you know this place that has a sizeable kitchen has
- 37:14Speaker 1: got all the equipments. I mean, like chefs, many chefs
- 37:16Speaker 1: around the you know, around the city would be very
- 37:19Speaker 1: envious of the kitchen here at this gas station, believe
- 37:21Speaker 1: it or not. And and you know they serve they
- 37:25Speaker 1: serve things like Honduran tacos, and Honduran tacos aren't like
- 37:29Speaker 1: your traditional tacos. They're more like taketos. They're like deep
- 37:33Speaker 1: fried taketos. And if you're watching on Jim Colba right
- 37:36Speaker 1: right now, yeah, of those tacos gas station food right there,
- 37:42Speaker 1: that is gas it is, so those those are Honduran tacos.
- 37:46Speaker 1: They also serve hon durant enchiladas, and Hunduran enchiladas are
- 37:50Speaker 1: more like tostadas and they're topp with like cabbage and
- 37:54Speaker 1: ground beef and and and avocados and tomatoes, and there's
- 37:57Speaker 1: an egg on there as well. And it's truly du
- 38:00Speaker 1: it's it's outstanding. But you know, if you're if you're
- 38:03Speaker 1: going to have Honduran food, you have to try something
- 38:05Speaker 1: called the baliada. And this is like probably the most
- 38:08Speaker 1: popular street snack in uh in Honduras. And again if
- 38:12Speaker 1: you're watching on Jim Corbett Live, Jack has a photo
- 38:14Speaker 1: there on my Instagram which is at its Faya's car
- 38:17Speaker 1: if you want to follow along, and and the baliada.
- 38:19Speaker 1: So they make the actual the wrap in house. They
- 38:24Speaker 1: take a dough ball and they flatten it onto a
- 38:26Speaker 1: piece of tinfoil which has been slicking with shortening, and
- 38:29Speaker 1: then they grill that on a flat top, the exposed
- 38:32Speaker 1: side down. Then they lift the foil and then they
- 38:35Speaker 1: fill it with like cheese and refried beans and avocado
- 38:39Speaker 1: and sour cream and eggs and steak and it's and
- 38:43Speaker 1: it's outstanding. It's so good and it's like you wouldn't
- 38:45Speaker 1: think that this sort of quality of food could be,
- 38:49Speaker 1: you know, served out of a gas staate. But even
- 38:51Speaker 1: like homemade tortillas, the texture that tortilla looks unbelievable because
- 38:55Speaker 1: when you get the good tortillas and you do that
- 38:57Speaker 1: to them, they kind of separate almost like flaky do
- 39:00Speaker 1: a little bit. If you look at the top left
- 39:01Speaker 1: of that that's doing that. What that does, that creates
- 39:03Speaker 1: that pocket of crunch because on the inside of the
- 39:06Speaker 1: pocket also crisps up, so you get that beautiful texture
- 39:10Speaker 1: to go with all those great insides that you know
- 39:12Speaker 1: are softer with your meats and the cheese and the
- 39:14Speaker 1: egg that's in there, the avocado that looks delicious and
- 39:18Speaker 1: very eatable on the go very much, Joe, you know what,
- 39:21Speaker 1: And you know what, I'm just kind of reminding me
- 39:23Speaker 1: of an Indian parata with that flakiness and that crunch.
- 39:26Speaker 1: You know, my wife absolutely loved it, but she loved
- 39:31Speaker 1: the cheese steak even more, to the point where she
- 39:33Speaker 1: uttered some blasphemy. She said it was she said it
- 39:36Speaker 1: was better than cappies. And I'm like, what better than cappies?
- 39:40Speaker 1: And I think I know why she said that is
- 39:41Speaker 1: because when they're preparing this cheese steak, you know, they're
- 39:44Speaker 1: they're taking like a fresh bell pepper and they're taking
- 39:48Speaker 1: an onions and they're like chopping it right there and
- 39:50Speaker 1: then throwing it onto the flat tub. So it has
- 39:52Speaker 1: that you know, that very sort of fresh, vibrant kind
- 39:57Speaker 1: of flavor. You know, and I think that's that really
- 39:59Speaker 1: hits home with this with the sandwich, and that role
- 40:01Speaker 1: looks amazing as well. Yeah, I mean like, look, this
- 40:04Speaker 1: is this is a this is a gas station, a
- 40:05Speaker 1: marathon gas station of all places, and it's like, you know,
- 40:09Speaker 1: the quality again, the quality and the and the price.
- 40:11Speaker 1: You cannot beat the price. And this is a place
- 40:13Speaker 1: that Jack rebber. But this is my love language and
- 40:15Speaker 1: it's in the neighboring town. I am all over this, buddy.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I gotta tell you, I'll be seeing that this weekend
- 40:20Speaker 3: because I'm telling you, just those first three photographs alone,
- 40:23Speaker 3: I've got to go over there and get this a shot.
- 40:24Speaker 3: This looks amazing, And Fiaz, I gotta give compliments to
- 40:28Speaker 3: your writing. This is such a fire ass joke, it
- 40:30Speaker 3: says right here. But I quite enjoyed watching all the
- 40:33Speaker 3: components being made in this surprisingly well equipped kitchen. So
- 40:37Speaker 3: just be patient and keep in mind that this is
- 40:39Speaker 3: a marathon, not a spring.
- 40:45Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah, I feel like that you should
- 40:48Speaker 1: read the opening paragraph, rot, I think you really enjoy that.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Maybe not for radio, but yeah, I'm saying it definitely
- 40:55Speaker 1: not for radio, all right, but.
- 40:59Speaker 3: If you want to read it, the very first photograph
- 41:02Speaker 3: that they showed, I thought that looked like a Beerria
- 41:04Speaker 3: taco and then you said it was something else.
- 41:06Speaker 1: But I can see right there it is a look
- 41:08Speaker 1: at it. They also serve me, I said, they also
- 41:11Speaker 1: serve Mexican fair. And if you look at that Beerria,
- 41:14Speaker 1: the the actual the you know, the the broth that
- 41:16Speaker 1: they served with this, it's got like bits of that
- 41:18Speaker 1: that that fatty, melty goodness. We don't really find another
- 41:23Speaker 1: Beera that are served around town. And it's it's it's
- 41:26Speaker 1: really i mean again quality here. Very surprising to make
- 41:30Speaker 1: their own hot sauce. Definitely asked for that. You know,
- 41:32Speaker 1: their housemade hot sauce there, it's made form I believe,
- 41:35Speaker 1: a chili chili our bowl. It's I mean, look, it's
- 41:39Speaker 1: it's really high quality gas.
- 41:42Speaker 3: That is simply amazing. They have trees, which is my
- 41:44Speaker 3: favorite dessert of all time.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I'm not even are made in house. I'm taking my
- 41:50Speaker 1: wife out to lunch on Sunday and we're gonna pull
- 41:53Speaker 1: into a marathon cast. It's gonna be blown away. It's
- 41:58Speaker 1: you know, it's it's different than the wild normally. Take
- 42:00Speaker 1: it to that gas station for food.
- 42:03Speaker 12: And tell me like there's like constructions, thank you, there's
- 42:07Speaker 12: like you know, construction workers and and a garbage man
- 42:10Speaker 12: and like it's their place to go and it's like
- 42:12Speaker 12: their little secret.
- 42:13Speaker 1: I don't think they'd be all too happy. And you know,
- 42:15Speaker 1: in the word getting out, but man, it's got to
- 42:18Speaker 1: get out that hot jet. It's called Roma's Bistro again,
- 42:22Speaker 1: Roma not Italian. All right, let's move on Mills, marget News,
- 42:28Speaker 1: Mills Market. So if you go to Mills Market tonight,
- 42:31Speaker 1: they have a pop up called Pico Pico, which Pico
- 42:34Speaker 1: Pico just means I think Hungary and Japanese. And they
- 42:37Speaker 1: are billing themselves as the very first Orlando's very first
- 42:42Speaker 1: crawfel pop up, And you know, crawfels being a for
- 42:45Speaker 1: some mix of croissants and waffles, and they're serving both
- 42:48Speaker 1: sweet and savory crawfels, and I think they're touting a
- 42:52Speaker 1: loaded potato crawfel for for tonight and it's I think
- 42:56Speaker 1: it's top with like chili crisp and shallots. But you
- 43:00Speaker 1: know they're also serving macha as well. They're doing your
- 43:02Speaker 1: own macho. So check them out. And then on Sunday
- 43:04Speaker 1: at Mills Market Top Chef season three winner Hung Win
- 43:09Speaker 1: is going to be debuting his pop up called Bang
- 43:11Speaker 1: Bang Noodles, and he'll be offering two types of noodles
- 43:15Speaker 1: on that. Yeah, he'll be offering the Cuman lamb and
- 43:18Speaker 1: then the beef with I believe a Seschuan pepper sauce.
- 43:21Speaker 1: And if you if you know, Hung is arguably are
- 43:26Speaker 1: our most talented chef. He is extremely I mean you
- 43:29Speaker 1: have to be to win Top Chef, you know. So
- 43:31Speaker 1: if you want to try some of this food and
- 43:33Speaker 1: you haven't tried it before, check out Bang Bang Noodle
- 43:36Speaker 1: at Mills Market, I believe it from twelve to five
- 43:39Speaker 1: pm on Sunday.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Pie Is I gotta tell you, buddy. I mean, just
- 43:41Speaker 3: kind of on aside here, it is kind of cool
- 43:44Speaker 3: how often Orlando draws the talent from television, whereas before
- 43:48Speaker 3: that would be an instant straight to New York, straight
- 43:50Speaker 3: to La you know, straight to some of these real
- 43:52Speaker 3: kind of modern progressive cities, San Francisco maybe. But it's
- 43:55Speaker 3: so cool to see that Orlando has drawing power for
- 43:58Speaker 3: some of this really cool talent that's being offered in
- 44:01Speaker 3: the US. And I just find that to be quite
- 44:05Speaker 3: a statement of but what Orlando has become in the
- 44:07Speaker 3: culinary scene or is it teleentary it's is it television
- 44:11Speaker 3: drawing the talent from Orlando? Yeah, it could be true. True, yep,
- 44:15Speaker 3: there have in shows.
- 44:16Speaker 1: So I mean it's really a testament to our our
- 44:18Speaker 1: you know, burgeoning dining scene. And that's this is something
- 44:21Speaker 1: that started maybe ten fifteen years ago, and people are
- 44:24Speaker 1: wanting to stay here. They like the vibe, they like
- 44:26Speaker 1: the grassroots sort of feeling. They like the how people
- 44:29Speaker 1: aren't cutthroat chefs you know, like collaborate, they work with
- 44:32Speaker 1: each other, they like each other. It's not like other cities.
- 44:34Speaker 3: So yeah, and fire is hunguin there there if you
- 44:38Speaker 3: haven't been to like a collaboration between two smaller restaurants
- 44:42Speaker 3: and the two chefs are combining their ingredients with that, it.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Is so cool.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so cool because it tells a story on
- 44:50Speaker 3: every bite when like I remember times when Pizza Bruno
- 44:54Speaker 3: did collapse with I believe like jam hot chicken, and
- 44:57Speaker 3: then you could taste one business is hot chicken on
- 45:00Speaker 3: top of another business's pizza.
- 45:01Speaker 1: And it just feels like it should be illegal, but
- 45:04Speaker 1: it's not. It's very cool. But he's right, that's rare
- 45:07Speaker 1: because in other cities it's very competitive and nobody wants
- 45:10Speaker 1: another chef to get an edge on them.
- 45:12Speaker 3: That's really what makes it Orlando super unique. And I
- 45:14Speaker 3: was just talking to Kay about during the downturn, like
- 45:16Speaker 3: during COVID, how the Chins went out of their way
- 45:19Speaker 3: to kind of turn the restaurants into sundrys so that
- 45:21Speaker 3: other restaurants could get stuff they couldn't get from their
- 45:24Speaker 3: purveyors because there was nothing there. So that just gives
- 45:26Speaker 3: you an idea of how all of these guys work
- 45:28Speaker 3: together to really make the scene itself so good because
- 45:31Speaker 3: once that happens, everybody kind of wins. Let's do one
- 45:34Speaker 3: last one here, Budy, tell me about the Bashi Bar
- 45:36Speaker 3: or speaking.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Boshe Bar is a sort of like a subconcept that
- 45:41Speaker 1: takes place at one of Ross's favorite places, Smoke and
- 45:43Speaker 1: Donuts there in the Milk District. And so every Friday,
- 45:47Speaker 1: what they're doing is that they're inviting guests, DJs or
- 45:49Speaker 1: spinning vinyl on some I think like some authentic old
- 45:53Speaker 1: school high fi system. And the chef there, Ian Russell.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Speaking of collaborations, he's collaborating with Red Panda Noodle Elliot
- 46:01Speaker 1: Hillis and Seth Parker there from Red Panda Noodle and
- 46:04Speaker 1: he is now making his own noodles. He's serving his
- 46:07Speaker 1: own ramen and otsumami, which are essentially, you know, Japanese snacks.
- 46:13Speaker 1: So you can go there from eight from eight pm
- 46:15Speaker 1: to midnight. This is taking place, I believe tonight Friday.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Yeah what am I saying? It's tonight from eight pm
- 46:21Speaker 1: to midnight. You can have some ramen, you can have
- 46:24Speaker 1: some Japanese snacks, you can listen and listen to some
- 46:26Speaker 1: vinyl and yeah, it's a bit of a vibe. It's
- 46:28Speaker 1: kind of kind of a cool thing.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Yeah, very cool, dude. Look, man, I wish we had
- 46:31Speaker 3: five more hours to talk to you about this stuff.
- 46:33Speaker 3: But if people want to learn more about what Faiaz
- 46:35Speaker 3: does and read more about the cool stuff that we
- 46:37Speaker 3: talk about, whether it be a gas station, you know,
- 46:39Speaker 3: miracle little spot with Honda and Tacos that you're not
- 46:41Speaker 3: gonna be able to wait to get over. You should
- 46:43Speaker 3: see the response we're getting on the texting service about
- 46:45Speaker 3: your gas station, dude. So you know, go to the
- 46:47Speaker 3: Orlando Weekly and read the tip jar or follow Fayees
- 46:51Speaker 3: on social because he's always doing updates about stuff happening
- 46:54Speaker 3: in the city and they can find you where.
- 46:55Speaker 1: But they can find me. Go to Orlando Weekly dot com,
- 46:59Speaker 1: click on four and drink. You'll find all my stuff there.

- 48:35Speaker 14: British beer and lime. I found a British breakfast down
- 48:39Speaker 14: in Cocovich.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Day were not good.
- 48:41Speaker 9: Days this guy.
- 48:43Speaker 15: Hey guys, So I saw a post on Twitter x
- 48:48Speaker 15: that the liquor companies have lost like three billion over
- 48:51Speaker 15: the course of like two or three years, something of
- 48:53Speaker 15: that nature, And then there was a post underneath it.
- 48:56Speaker 15: It says, yeah, because I drink costs just as much
- 48:58Speaker 15: as a monthly subscription to a streaming platform. So I
- 49:02Speaker 15: was doing them out of though, Like yeah, that sounds
- 49:04Speaker 15: about right. So anyways, there you go. I'll you go
- 49:08Speaker 15: a weekend, He'll see anybody.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Yeah, America is just not drinking as much as a
- 49:11Speaker 3: gigantic story. I said today that if you read any
- 49:14Speaker 3: of the periodicals that they talk about, you know kind
- 49:17Speaker 3: of business in America. Distilleries are having a very difficult time.
- 49:21Speaker 3: We knew the craft brewed business could not contain that
- 49:24Speaker 3: thing that was never going to be sustainable. Just aren't
- 49:27Speaker 3: enough people who like that beer over a long period
- 49:29Speaker 3: of time to keep that many craft breweries open, and
- 49:32Speaker 3: we see those things closing in an alarming rate. And
- 49:34Speaker 3: now it's hitting distilleries like even you know, Bourbon went
- 49:37Speaker 3: through this massive blow up, but the problem is just
- 49:41Speaker 3: there wasn't enough to keep it going. I mean, Bourbon
- 49:43Speaker 3: is still very popular, but you know, the distilleries are
- 49:46Speaker 3: having a hard time supplying.
- 49:47Speaker 1: When gin Beam announced that they were not going to
- 49:49Speaker 1: produce anything new in twenty twenty six, yeah you know
- 49:52Speaker 1: they're sitting on a supply Yeah yeah yeah four seven
- 49:55Speaker 1: nine six four one texts seven seven zero three one
- 49:58Speaker 1: welcome back. I'm Jim K. Rollins with us to get
- 50:00Speaker 1: to see a K. Jack as well. Did you say Rawlins, Yes, okay,
- 50:05Speaker 1: not Reynolds, no, no, no, and Ross here as well.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Can I just give a piece of advice for anybody
- 50:11Speaker 1: who's into bourbon? Yeah? Sure, Forward Slash Distillery and Blending House.
- 50:17Speaker 3: They'll be in here next Wednesday. When we went there,
- 50:21Speaker 3: Orlando doesn't know. If you do know, then you're lucky.
- 50:25Speaker 3: But we have we have bourbon scientists right there in
- 50:29Speaker 3: downtown Orlando, buddy blending some of the best whiskey. I mean,
- 50:35Speaker 3: I was gobsmacked. I felt like a bad Central Floridian.
- 50:38Speaker 3: You ever walk into an establishment and you're like, I suck.
- 50:41Speaker 3: I should have known about this. Are you a whiskey drinker?
- 50:43Speaker 1: Okay?
- 50:44Speaker 3: No, Well, I will tell you he's right. There's a
- 50:46Speaker 3: place that's called Forward Slash. They're actually coming in next Wednesday.
- 50:49Speaker 3: We'll have him in here. We did our bourbon bus
- 50:51Speaker 3: and our first stop was at Forward Slash, and I
- 50:53Speaker 3: gotta tell you, I'm so glad it was.
- 50:55Speaker 1: It was an amazing experience. I'll tell you why.
- 50:58Speaker 3: Anytime you do business with business and the owners of
- 51:02Speaker 3: that business are a dog. They cannot wait to tell
- 51:05Speaker 3: you about their product or their service. Right, that's when
- 51:08Speaker 3: you know you're probably gonna have a pretty good experience.
- 51:11Speaker 3: And these guys were that on thirty. They were out
- 51:14Speaker 3: of their mind. They were pouring whiskey left and right.
- 51:16Speaker 3: People were just drinking. It was crazy. At the end
- 51:18Speaker 3: of the night, they say, hey, one more second before
- 51:21Speaker 3: you guys leave, we had another special opportunity for you.
- 51:24Speaker 3: They pull back this curtain to a part of the
- 51:26Speaker 3: store that we hadn't seen yet, and they wheel out
- 51:28Speaker 3: this cart and this cart has a giant whiskey barrel
- 51:31Speaker 3: on it, and in that whiskey barrel is what it was,
- 51:34Speaker 3: an eight or a ten year proprietory bourbon that they
- 51:38Speaker 3: had sitting in that barrel that they won't sell because
- 51:41Speaker 3: the people that work there love it so much. They've
- 51:44Speaker 3: just been drinking this barrel of bourbon for like months. Right,
- 51:47Speaker 3: So they come over and everybody gets a glass, and
- 51:50Speaker 3: they have this thing. I don't even know if it's cold,
- 51:51Speaker 3: but it's like made out of copper, and you stick
- 51:53Speaker 3: it down in there and it kind of sucks bourbon
- 51:55Speaker 3: up into this thing and then you pour it out
- 51:57Speaker 3: right and it had some blueberry in there or something,
- 52:00Speaker 3: and it was sublime. It was so good. And we
- 52:05Speaker 3: just sat there and drank more of that whiskey before
- 52:06Speaker 3: we hopped on the bus. Just simply amazing experience. And
- 52:09Speaker 3: my with my time with bourbon and whiskey and Scotch,
- 52:14Speaker 3: and I've learned this is that I love it when
- 52:16Speaker 3: it's blended. I think you can push the boundaries of
- 52:20Speaker 3: tastes when it comes to these spirits unlike any other
- 52:24Speaker 3: way when you blend it.
- 52:25Speaker 1: And they also tend to believe in that as well.
- 52:27Speaker 3: They're grabbing a three year from this up north, from
- 52:31Speaker 3: this distillery, a five year from this distillery that compliment
- 52:34Speaker 3: each other, and then they blend this that, and then
- 52:38Speaker 3: they make one product that it's perfectly balanced and it's
- 52:42Speaker 3: I couldn't believe.
- 52:43Speaker 1: That we had that in Orlando. Yeah, that spot is
- 52:45Speaker 1: so cool, dude.
- 52:46Speaker 4: I've done plenty of whiskey tasting. I mean, my family's
- 52:49Speaker 4: from Scotland. Yeah, you would hope so. And I've actually
- 52:52Speaker 4: stayed at Glen Marange.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:54Speaker 4: They have a little hotel there and you eat family
- 52:57Speaker 4: style and then they open this huge cabinet at the
- 53:01Speaker 4: end of the night. And there's just.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Oldies, just really old fine whiskey. Yeah, simply amazing. So
- 53:07Speaker 1: on Wednesday, when we normally talked with Scott Maxwell, he
- 53:10Speaker 1: will actually be in studio along with the with Tim
- 53:14Speaker 1: and Michael from Forward Slash Blendings, and they're going to
- 53:18Speaker 1: bring old Watchdog. This is the bourbon they created to
- 53:22Speaker 1: honor the Orlando Sentinel, which is awesome. Yeah. So it's
- 53:25Speaker 1: it's this special bourbon they created just for for that
- 53:29Speaker 1: and we're gonna get to sample it next Wednesday.
- 53:32Speaker 3: Say so, those guys gave me a cigar that night
- 53:35Speaker 3: that I guess that they they made for the for
- 53:38Speaker 3: the dicillery, and it was so fricking good, dude, it
- 53:42Speaker 3: was so good, all right for a seven nine one
- 53:45Speaker 3: six four one. Again, you can always text us at
- 53:47Speaker 3: seven seven zero three one. Hey, look, when you guys
- 53:50Speaker 3: go to restaurants and you're there at the restaurant, you're
- 53:53Speaker 3: doing your whole thing, do you guys ever like do
- 53:55Speaker 3: things you think that are gonna help the server.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Like stack the plate, Yeah, like stack the plates up
- 54:02Speaker 1: and stuff like that. Yeah. I'm guilty of that.
- 54:04Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, I hate it.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Let me tell you something, So I have a few
- 54:08Speaker 3: things here where you think you're doing the server of
- 54:11Speaker 3: favor right, And by the way, I I could not
- 54:14Speaker 3: be more guilty of this. I'm the guy, I'm helper
- 54:17Speaker 3: Dan like, I want to make the server's job as
- 54:20Speaker 3: easy as possible.
- 54:21Speaker 1: So I think I'm doing this.
- 54:23Speaker 3: And I gotta tell you as I read this list today,
- 54:25Speaker 3: the very end of the list, and said, do you
- 54:27Speaker 3: do any of these? And then I just overhand through
- 54:29Speaker 3: my computer against the wall and said, blank blank blank
- 54:32Speaker 3: blank blank, I do every blank in one of them.
- 54:35Speaker 3: I kind of committed a cardinal sin about maybe two
- 54:39Speaker 3: three years ago, and it still has not left me.
- 54:42Speaker 3: But I was in a green room. The bartender had
- 54:45Speaker 3: a lot of beers on a thing, and I saw
- 54:48Speaker 3: the server. What I thought was someone struggling a little bit.
- 54:52Speaker 1: So what do you, uh, what do you do? Yeah,
- 54:55Speaker 1: you reach up there and grab it off the office platter.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Yeah, which then also shifts the weight if you don't
- 55:00Speaker 3: communicate it. So I and then I committed my biggest
- 55:04Speaker 3: pet peeve. When you're trying to help but then you
- 55:06Speaker 3: do critical damage. Yeah, that's the worst. It says right here,
- 55:11Speaker 3: the very first one. It says, you see servers do it,
- 55:14Speaker 3: So how hard can it be. A good server could
- 55:17Speaker 3: clear an entire table of plates and just one fell swoop.
- 55:20Speaker 3: But it takes practice and skill to do that. So
- 55:22Speaker 3: when you stack up your plates and you think you're
- 55:24Speaker 3: doing the server a favor, you are not. And the
- 55:27Speaker 3: reason why is there's a there's a technique they use
- 55:31Speaker 3: to make sure that all the plates are stacked up
- 55:33Speaker 3: properly so they can carry a bunch of them at once.
- 55:35Speaker 3: And if you're stacking plates and you put a fork
- 55:37Speaker 3: in there or a napkins in there, and that one
- 55:40Speaker 3: plate's teetering or whatever, they have to go and take
- 55:42Speaker 3: it all apart and then do it all over again.
- 55:45Speaker 1: So what they say is, don't do that.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Just leave the plates there and let the server do
- 55:49Speaker 3: their job and just kind of enjoy your time and
- 55:51Speaker 3: let them do their thing.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Don't do that.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Do you put your utah? Do you put your utensils
- 55:56Speaker 3: and napkins in like glasses to make it easier? You
- 55:58Speaker 3: think yourself, well, I'll just put all the util in
- 56:00Speaker 3: this class. All they have to do is pick the
- 56:01Speaker 3: glasses that I do not do. No, dude, I just
- 56:04Speaker 3: did yeah, yeah, tip, and then I did tip and dip. Yeah,
- 56:09Speaker 3: don't do that either. Don't put your napkins or utensils
- 56:11Speaker 3: and glasses thinking it's going to make it easier for
- 56:13Speaker 3: them to pick everything up.
- 56:15Speaker 1: It does not.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Again, that's not part of the technique that the servers
- 56:18Speaker 3: use to make sure that it's going to go smoothly.
- 56:20Speaker 1: So just don't do that.
- 56:22Speaker 4: You're taught as a kid in England when you finished,
- 56:25Speaker 4: you put your knife and fork together. Oh really, and
- 56:28Speaker 4: that's a symbol that you finished. Oh I see, So
- 56:31Speaker 4: then they don't have to say you still working on that, ma'am.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Don't you be that's un mocking. No, actually I kind
- 56:38Speaker 1: of loved it, and please keep doing that. That was awesome,
- 56:41Speaker 1: But that's what.
- 56:42Speaker 4: They that's I mean, obviously I'm grew up a lot
- 56:47Speaker 4: a long time ago in England, but that you were
- 56:50Speaker 4: taught at gut at school. Oh really, yes, So you
- 56:53Speaker 4: were taught how to set a table with the glass
- 56:56Speaker 4: and the wow really you doing fork and everything to
- 56:59Speaker 4: use really cutlery as we call it. Yeah, but you
- 57:03Speaker 4: were taught how to and then just the eating piece
- 57:05Speaker 4: and then at the end if you put your knife
- 57:07Speaker 4: and fork together, that's.
- 57:09Speaker 1: A that's indicative that you're done.
- 57:11Speaker 4: That means you're done.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Oh wow, I did not know that, princess.
- 57:15Speaker 3: It never never take anything off a server's tray ever,
- 57:19Speaker 3: not even a not even a butter tray, nothing. But
- 57:21Speaker 3: because when they build that thing, they're building it for balance,
- 57:24Speaker 3: and if you take one part off, it actually makes
- 57:26Speaker 3: one weight one side way more or less than the other,
- 57:29Speaker 3: and it can cause a major problem. I could have
- 57:31Speaker 3: jumped out of my skin when I did it. I
- 57:33Speaker 3: felt like such a dumb god man. Here's one that
- 57:37Speaker 3: I do not understand. But when when the server comes
- 57:41Speaker 3: to refill your water glass, what do you do? Usually
- 57:45Speaker 3: hand it to them, take out the straw or.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Yeah, move it like closer to them. Yeah, what do
- 57:50Speaker 1: you do?
- 57:50Speaker 14: Yeah?
- 57:52Speaker 4: Yeah, move it.
- 57:52Speaker 3: I think it says, whatever you do, whether your server
- 57:55Speaker 3: is refilling your coffee, your water, your tea, whatever, do
- 57:58Speaker 3: not lift your glass up, yeah and hold it there
- 58:01Speaker 3: for them to do that. It says your grip might
- 58:04Speaker 3: not be a steady and if the server pours the
- 58:05Speaker 3: water in there and it weighs it to the point
- 58:07Speaker 3: or whatever and you drop it, that's a problem. So
- 58:10Speaker 3: you basically just want to leave your water glass where
- 58:12Speaker 3: it is and let them fill it as it sits
- 58:14Speaker 3: on the table, or your coffee for that matter, don't don't.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Bring it up to them.
- 58:17Speaker 3: So all of these techniques are just eliminating as many
- 58:20Speaker 3: variables as possible, right yeah, I mean just sorry, you
- 58:23Speaker 3: can hold your coffee as it's getting filled, but why
- 58:26Speaker 3: take the risk.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 58:27Speaker 3: Basically, what they're saying here is just chill out, enjoy
- 58:29Speaker 3: yourself and let let these people do their thing. I mean,
- 58:31Speaker 3: they're earning their tip from you, so let them do it.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Right. Here's another one too. When you when you order,
- 58:36Speaker 1: do you memorize what the menu item is and then
- 58:39Speaker 1: say it to the server or do you point to
- 58:41Speaker 1: the menu and say I'll take that right there, I'll
- 58:45Speaker 1: say it. You'll say it right, how about you? Ross, Yeah,
- 58:47Speaker 1: I'm saying it. Read. Yeah, So you don't point to
- 58:50Speaker 1: the menu unless where in a place where it's in
- 58:53Speaker 1: a different minu Yeah. Yeah, they're like, whatever you do,
- 58:57Speaker 1: do not point to the menu when this server it
- 59:00Speaker 1: comes to you, read what you want and just tell them, hey,
- 59:03Speaker 1: I'll take the steak with the fries and a you know,
- 59:06Speaker 1: in a salad with ranch or whatever the case may be.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Don't point, you know, like I'll take that right there.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Don't do that.
- 59:12Speaker 3: They can't stand that. Just memorize the item and tell
- 59:14Speaker 3: them what it is. The only time I'm going to
- 59:16Speaker 3: point is if I want to order Bang Bang shrimp.
- 59:19Speaker 3: I refuse to say that out loud because I'm an adult.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Well you just said it in front of like one
- 59:25Speaker 1: hundred thousand pounds. Well I couldn't point to the menu, Jim.
- 59:29Speaker 3: I just looked over to the thing and like there
- 59:32Speaker 3: must be a number of servers listing, because one in
- 59:34Speaker 3: all caps like, oh my god, yes, don't do that,
- 59:38Speaker 3: and the other one is another one I do not understand.
- 59:40Speaker 3: So when you get through ordering, like you go to
- 59:42Speaker 3: the restaurant, they bring you the menus, you order your food.
- 59:45Speaker 1: What do you do after you order?
- 59:48Speaker 4: Give them the menu?
- 59:49Speaker 1: You hand the menu back? Right, yes, don't do that.
- 59:51Speaker 1: What don't hand the menus back?
- 59:54Speaker 3: Set the menus on the table in a stack, and
- 59:56Speaker 3: the server will come back and pick them up when
- 59:58Speaker 3: he can. Because sometimes the servers actually aren't ready to
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: receive the menus yet, and if you hand it up
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: to them, they feel obligated to take it instead of
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: telling you just to sit it down because that sounds
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: kind of rude. They don't want to do anything to
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: offend you and possibly cost themselves a couple bucks and tips,
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: So they say, you're actually making it more difficult for
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: the server to do that. When they need the menus,
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: they will ask for them. So when you order your food,
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: just set the menus down and the server will come
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: around and grab them, because when you stick them up,
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: you're forcing them to do that. What you don't know
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: is they may have to leave to that table and
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: go to another table and another table, and they can't
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: do that with a handful of eight menus or five
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: menus or whatever unless they're reaching out to take the menu, right, Yeah,
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: unless they make an emotion to ask you for it.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: That's one thing.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: But what they're saying is is as you, as soon
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: as you get done ordering, you voluntarily just hold your
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: menu up for them to take.
- 1:00:48Speaker 10: Do not do that.
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: Oh, good to know we've learned something, And it says.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Trying to take each menu individually is a hassle and cumbersome.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: Once you've ordered, just placed the menu on the table
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: and the server will happily pick it up when they're ready.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: That's exactly what you're supposed to do. And it's a
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: little bit more. And I didn't know any of these things,
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: by the way, The only one I knew is they
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: don't like you stacking the plates.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I have no idea. Text He wants to know if
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: the list was written by a passive aggressive server.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: This is a y'all who liked Yeah, yeah, yeah, this
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: is uh. The one with the glass and refill do
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: is a little shocking because I do that all the time.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: But I think I'm making it easier for him. I'm
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: just saying to be respectful.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Just you, it's on the stable service. Now you're gonna
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: hold it where it's now a moving target, right and
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: give them opportunity to.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Stull it right in your lap. Yeah, and I know
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: you used to be a baseball player, but those times
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: are gone. Oh you're gonna drop it right, Yeah, you're right.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: You know your finger grip strength isn't there anymore. Dexterity
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: is kind of gone. There goes the diet coke, all right?
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: Four seven nine four one. Text us at seven seven
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: zero three one. Now, Jack, I know you have a
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: trip coming up, right, I do, Yes, I do trip,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: But no, I just got back from one. Now I'm
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: still you know. I'm still reliving that one. You'll be
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: having another one in a few weeks.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: And didn't you have a little bit of a question? Yeah,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: what's the question, buddy? My trip is on Spirit Airlines?
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. What's going on with Spirit? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Well they could be insolvent. They might be selling their
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: planes or parts by Monday.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: I gotta tell you, it's such a shaky situation because
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: now the government's jumped in and I guess Trump is
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: offered to offer a bailout of like five hundred million
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: dollars to keep Spirit going. And there was a story
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: today and it said this, And I have to tell
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: you this is a very interesting question. Ready, what happens
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: if you're in the middle of your trip and Spirit
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: goes out of business when you are at your destination
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: but your ticket is a come home ticket, but now
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Spirit's not flying.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you think happens? I would like to know.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I'll tell you next.
- 1:02:47Speaker 16: Ah.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Real Radio was on Facebook at Real Radio one oh
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: four one, sponsored by the Law Offices of Anna Jar
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: and Levine. Accident attorneys call the Law Offices of Anna,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Jar and Levine at one eight hundred seven four to
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: seven free.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: That's one eight hundred seven four seven three seven three three.
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: This weather report is brought to you by Mills Air.
- 1:03:07Speaker 11: Heat is on as we kick off our weekend high
- 1:03:09Speaker 11: there on Fox thirty five Storm Team media arounlogist TJ. Springer,
- 1:03:13Speaker 11: as we Progressive were Friday night, it'll be still manageable
- 1:03:16Speaker 11: out there.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I hope you guys are going well. So Miss kay
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Rowlings is one hundred percent right.
- 1:03:21Speaker 17: I was taught that to back home that if your
- 1:03:23Speaker 17: forking knife is of sideways on the plate, you know,
- 1:03:26Speaker 17: that means you're still working on it. If they're together
- 1:03:28Speaker 17: in the middle of the plate, that means you're done
- 1:03:30Speaker 17: and the servers are netlory about it.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Wow. I didn't think a lot of people knew about that.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Thanks by.
- 1:03:35Speaker 11: Also, remember five dollars is not the standard tip at
- 1:03:39Speaker 11: lunchtime tip according to your bill.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Please, Well, people get different because it's lunch. Those people
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: are whacked. Well I didn't know that. I mean, I
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: think lunch sometimes maybe people think five dollars a standard,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: but lunch is not what lunch used to be. No, no,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: But I like, yeah, if I go to lunch and
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: spend like fifty bucks on lunch, I'm you're doing the normal.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: You know, ten dollars twenty percent. So if you spend
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: fifty dollars at dinner or lunch, you tip less for
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: lunch because it's lunch, even though it's the same price.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: No, no, I've not heard that before. No, I've not
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: heard that before. I'm just always tip on the number
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: right and well in the quality of the service. I
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: don't automatically give twenty percent. Really no, if you give
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: me bad service, you don't get twenty percent. We start
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: at twenty percent. We work our way down or up
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: from there, like we automatically walk in saying we think
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: most people are gonna deserve twenty percent. If you give
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: us extra service, you'll you'll get more than twenty. But
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: you also if you give us bad service or don't
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: really pay attention to us, I will drop that down.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: I got no problem with it, all right. Four to
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: seven nine one six four one text us seven seven
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: zero three one. You're four o'clock. Keyword is rich uric h.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Go to real radio dot FM and send it away
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: for your chance at one thousand bucks. I only got
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: a few minutes, so we'll get you Afreshie at the
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: top of the hour. Don't forget Danny myerings join us
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: at five o'clock. We're going to talk about Sloth World.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: She has some more information because now with her new job,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: she covers things happening in the tourism world for central Florida,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: and this, of course would be a tourism thing. And
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: we have some more information coming up about sloth World
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: with our friend Danny Meyern here in just a few minutes.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Welcome back on Jim.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: There's k good afternoon.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Jack is here. Hi there, and so is Ross. Believe
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: in yourself. Jack has a trip coming up where he
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: bought tickets on Spirit Airlines. And the story I saw
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: today with the Yahoo Travel News it was asking, you know,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: what do you do if you are on a Spirit
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: flight and you get to your destination, you're doing your thing.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: You find out while you're at your destination that Spirit
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Airlines has gone bankrupt. What do you think happens? Jack?
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: By the way, how'd you purchase your tickets?
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: Uh?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Through my credit card miles? So it was a travel
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: through Capital One. Travel a right, and I can choose
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: different airlines. This one, the Spirit one, had the flights
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I wanted, the times I wanted, right, I flew Spirit
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: before and it was not a problem. Okay, and uh,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: book them. Spirit confirms I have my flight. They've changed
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: the time of the flight twice on me. Okay. But
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: and then in recent news, it's only been the past
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: couple of weeks. You know how they're flirting with bankruptcy
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: due to the fuel costs. Yeah, yeah, for sure and
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: other things as well, because they were supposed to merger.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I guess with Jet Blue the Biden administration shut that down,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: and I guess now they went to Trump for a
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: possibility of a bailout. He's talking about it, but they
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: haven't really said anything definitively yet. Well, they're saying that
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: the government wants ninety percent of the company. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: for five hundred million dollar melo exactly. So with that said,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: what do you think happens now?
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: You're already ahead of the game because you purchased your
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: tickets with a credit card, But in reality, I don't
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: know anybody that purchased tickets any other way, Like, can
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: you could you even purchase.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: A ticket with cash?
- 1:06:47Speaker 16: Now?
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: I'm sure you could. Could I walk to the Spirit
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: desk right now? Or United or American or whomever and
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: purchase a ticket with cash. I think I don't know
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: if you can. I think dB Cooper was the last
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: one to be able to do that.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: I don't know the answer to that.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: So what do you think happens, buddy? I think they
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: prioritize you if you reschedule on another flight, like you
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: get to the top of the list, but they try
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: and work with you with other airlines. I don't know
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: if they honor that. I wouldn't think they would, because
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: they'd have the other airlines would have no way to
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: get that money. I think you'd have to rebuy a
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: different ticket.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: And then you're throwing around the word they like they
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: still yeah, you know, like who's still coordinating that?
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: I think you're so well, what do you think, k.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: I mean no, I think you're on your own?
- 1:07:36Speaker 10: Yeah you are.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: You are exactly on your own.
- 1:07:40Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you are on your own, dude. If you get
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: up there where you're going, Jersey. Yeah yeah.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: If you get up to Jersey and they file and
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: they file bankruptcy while you're there, you are on your
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: own to find your.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: Way home grand bus, buddy.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: That means you run a car or you buy the
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: tickets And the other thing too, is you're not more
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: than likely going to get a refund there either.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Actually, I don't think I'm in that boat, because then
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I go call Capital One, and since I have the
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Capitol One, I have insurance on this flight. They I
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: can I can cancel it now and get ninety percent
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: of my miles back, or I can wait to see
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: how it plays out and then rebook. And they're going
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: to rebook me if I need to.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it says you could be in for a rough
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: time if this happens, because airlines sometimes offer discounted rescue
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: fairs for passengers stranded when one of their competitors go
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: out of business, but those aren't always cheap or easy
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: to come by, And it says I hesitate to say
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: those are going to be cheap flights, cheaper than a
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: last minute flight, but you're likely going to pay way
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: more than the entire round trip.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Spirit flight Texter says, alask Wait, Spirit Frontier, and Allegiant
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: all take cash at the counter, but most of the
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: other airlines do not. Can I tell you I find
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: it amazing that any of them take cash.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: I mean, and on top of that, I thought they
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: would want kind of a record of who's or of
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: who's buying the damn thing, you know it, says Willie McGee,
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: who is a Senior Fellow for Aviation and traveled the
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: American Economic Liberties Project, added that flights on other airlines
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: are likely to already be full with their own passengers,
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: especially as we had in the summer. So one of
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: the other issues they talk about, as you get up there,
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: you get stranded, and as you try to find a flight,
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: you gotta get lucky to find a seat. And I
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: know that's kind of the case. My my daughter works
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: for an airline and she flies stand by and she says,
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: it is a straight up roll of the dice. You
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: can go to the airport and sit there for hours
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: and get nothing. And you could do that for a
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: couple days in a row, but she's usually doing it
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: for international flights.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: That's cool, Yeah, yeah, and kind of gives you an
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: insight of how free of a spirit she is.
- 1:09:39Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: We also, do you know anything at all? No, I
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: didn't mean that. Yeah, Bun, yeah too, Anyboddy, you're right
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: up there with the you know Fias in his food
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: writing with a marathon joke.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: That's going to play on words. It wasn't a pun
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: that's gonna work well in stage. Should do more of that.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I'm not okay, it's not my thing. I like to
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: play with words. And what was the credit card? You said?
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: You use? Jay Capital one Venture? Do you know about
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: the thing with them? Oh, what's the thing with them?
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: They had a breach. They had a breach.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: They announced today that that they're gonna spend four hundred
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: and twenty five million dollars paying off people like, if
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: you use your card for something between this year and
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: that year or whatever, you are now available for getting
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: some money from them because of the data breach. Right,
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: I've got I've got half a dozen letters of data
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: breaches I'm involved with. But I also have lifelocks.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you know. I gotta tell you.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: I think that data breach thing could be like a
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: side hustle because it seems like every other day there's
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: a data breach that you can cash in on for
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: your phone company, for your bank, and that matter.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: My favorite one was the data breach through experience, and
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: they wanted to give you a free year of experience
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: to make up for the data breach.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: I'm like, wait, the other what I love is most
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: is like, because these are real discount I mean, you're
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: getting like a couple one hundred dollars back. I can't
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: remember who it was, but you remember what they made
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: you do. Like you couldn't go online to register k
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: You actually had to write a physical letter to the
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: company to get into the registry to get your money back.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: They made you write a physical letter. And they did
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: that because they knew like that would immediately rule out
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: of the people that were looking for that money. And
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: it was like a test for art school where you
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: had to draw a doodle. Yeah, it had to match
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: the other one, you know, and if you weren't close,
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: you weren't getting your money.
- 1:11:26Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, I remember those tests for art school. I
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: did those all the time, and I thought I was
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: going places. Oh yeah, I just traced it and sent
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: it to them. I'm like, just give me my give
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: meunity degree. I think I think my mom threw them away,
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: all right. For seven nine texts seven seven zero three one.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Danny Myering's going to join us right after this. She's
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: got an update on what's happening in those sooth world.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: And by the way, this is a national story. Today
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: Newsweek is a CBS News both had it in their
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: in their news coverage this morning.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: It's in my UK newspapers.
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: Oh really yeah, yeah, it was all over Reddit this
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: morning as well. So she's got some new information. We'll

- 1:13:05Speaker 1: bottle of wine? No? I did not whine. You know
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: they'd eventually hear it through the grape vine. Oh, come on,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: that's why you always have to finish the bottle and

- 1:13:39Speaker 3: You heard her on the air with us for many
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: years doing date Night Done right. She moved on to
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: another job where she couldn't pull this off. But she
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: texted me the other day and said, Hey, look I
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: heard you guys talking about soft World. Just so happens
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: that I deal with the tourism thing now with my
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: new job, and I've got some infos. You guys give
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: it up good loud for miss Danny Myering.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: What do you say a different what past city? All
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: done right? It's about the money. How you doing? They
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: did not they did not do it right, and that's
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: why I'm.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Here, Kay Rolind said on her UK feed for news.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: This is now an international story. I saw it on
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: CBS and Newsweek this morning as well, so it's finally
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: starting to make the rounds. And of course it does
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: not look good at all. So what's the latest out there?
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: Well, and that's part of why I reached out to
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: you all and thank you so so much for making
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: the time to let me be here, is that I
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: have kind of an interesting perspective on this, not just
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: the story.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: But how it all kind of got this big.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: So I will start off with I won't bury the lead.
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: Where we are now.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Fox thirty five reported shortly about an hours ago, thirteen
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: of the surviving sloths are being rehomed at the Central
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens. They are an AZYA accredited facility,
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: which is essentially, you know, the gold standard for any
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: facility that's going to have any sort of animals within
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: their care, and as is standard operating procedure, they're going
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: to quarantine the thirteen slass for thirty days, make sure
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: they're doing okay, give them the utmost care that they
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: can and then from there they could potentially rehume some
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: of those laws at other AZA accredited facilities. It is
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: a whole network of about two hundred facilities in the US.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Now, that's the kind of good news.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: Okay, okay, And I remember reading a little bit like
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: that there were some permits that were kind of followed
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: here and maybe some other issues. But the other thing
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: was kind of sketchy about this entire thing, Danny, is
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: the fact that slaws in general really aren't that regulated
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: when it comes to the sale or purchase of them,
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: which I found amazing.
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: I know it's it.
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: I have learned so much over the past couple of days,
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: which is one of the reasons I'm loving what I'm
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: doing now at Attractions Magazine is being able to kind
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: of dig in and get educated on things. So it
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: is within legal limits of the Florida Fish and Wildlife
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: Commission to ship in wild animals that meet certain classifications.
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: So the these floss were originally brought in legally according
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: to the f w C permits for them being a
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: Class three type animal. Where the things really started to
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: be so wrong is that the facility where they were
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: temporarily housed until the attraction itself was going to open
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: was a warehouse and the permit was for automobiles. There
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: had not been any new permitting regarding animals being housed
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: at there, and so during some of the colder weather
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: that we had, unfortunately the animals did not have the
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: environment that they need, and so that was it was
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: essentially two waves the cold weather. It was about a
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: dozen or so that unfortunately did not survive. And on
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: a additional shipment, which sounds so weird to say, some
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: arrived I believe it was two arrived deceased, and then
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: the the others that were part of that group were
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: in really poor health. And I've I've got to say,
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: this is kind of the perspective that I wanted to
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: bring up, is I remember when this was announced and
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: I was with Orlando Parenting then Orlando Date Night Guide,
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: and like everyone else in the area, we just kind
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: of jumped on board, like, hey, this sounds like a
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: really cute idea. Of course they're going to take care
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: of this loss. Who would be you know, who would
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: who would open an attraction that they wouldn't be taken
- 1:17:43Speaker 5: care of. And so it was actually on attractions magazines articles.
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: I started to see comments now that I'm here in
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: this capacity of people who were concerned, and they shared
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: a article from Climate News and they had done a
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: report over a week ago now about this Florida Fish
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: and Wildlife Commission report that showed about the deaths of
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: this sloss And things were kind of quiet for about
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: a week, and I had talked with my publisher, Hey,
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: I'm seeing the story. Kind of want to jump on it,
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: but I know we haven't always done stories like this,
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: and so.
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: We held off.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: But I drafted the story Jessa Case, and I sent
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: it to a friend of mine who's also in the
- 1:18:28Speaker 5: media world, and she contacted her contacts and other publications,
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: and it was within about twenty four hours that the
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: local news started. And then we see, now we're in
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: the national realm.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: Yeah, and do we have any indication that they're going
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: to move forward with with the facility? Is the park
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: or the attraction still going to open? I mean, the
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: press could not be worse. I mean, we actually had
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: him in the studio and you know, you know, it
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: seemed like, you know, they were going to do everything
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: it took to to give the slaws an environment that
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: they could thrive in.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Uh, but that's what they were saying. Yeah, do I
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: say that in other part? And they brought in some
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: fancy mouse pads for k rawlins and T shirts.
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: Yeah, But I mean, do we have an education they're
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: going to continue to open? I mean, is the FWC
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: Are they looking at them differently now or so.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: There's there's a couple of different components with different governmental
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: facilities and organizations. So you have the fw C, which
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: essentially oversees the transportation of wildlife and essentially like I
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: guess you could call it the storage.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: Then there's the USDA, which also is overseeing that facilities.
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: Are equipped to.
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: Not only house certain animals but then have them on
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: public display, which gosh, again that sounds so inhuman, right,
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: So the USDA had not given clear for the facility
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: to open. The sign is perfectly visible. You can go
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: down Iye Drive and see sloth World. We're all pretty
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: convinced that the logo was created by AI. If you've
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: ever seen any visuals, AI kind of looks like it.
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: And it was two days ago. They took down their website,
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: they took down their social media. They said that they're
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: working on something amazing. So I can't ye a comeback
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: story would be pretty unheard of.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: Let me ask a question, and I don't know that
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: you have the answer here. It's just maybe an open
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: question to the ether.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: But if they weren't ready to house the sloths in
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: the attraction, why have them? I mean, if you have
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: the ability to quote order them at will and order
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: thirty or forties laws or whatever it takes to open
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: up a sloth world, why would you order them advance
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: so that you had to house them in something that
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: wasn't ready for them. Now.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: I know that in Florida, freezes like we experience are
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: unbelo leievable anomalies. We just don't see that very often,
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: maybe once every thirty or forty years. So, and I
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: don't you can't fault them for not knowing it was
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: going to get down into the twenties for a few days.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: But in that same sense, you can fault them to say, well,
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: if the facility wasn't ready, and the facility was supposed
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: to be the thing that was built to house them
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: and provide them the environment was closest to their national environment,
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: not a GD warehouse where we work on cars, why
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: didn't they just wait? Is there a secret out there
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: that they that they I mean, I don't get it.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Why yes?
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: And that's what's really difficult is you have a public presence,
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: you're putting out all this marketing.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: You're saying, how that I.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: Mean, their website was full of all of these conservation
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: efforts they were going to have. They worked with a
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: public relations firm originally. That firm has since cut ties
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: long ago, that has worked with other zoological facilities. So
- 1:21:58Speaker 5: it's very interesting that you know, you didn't have to
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: go into this line of work. So I don't to
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: understand to your point, why this and why not be prepared?
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: And I think that's part of us Orlando as a community.
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: And this is part of again the perspective that I
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: have Borner raised here. I've been in the tourism industry
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: for a while. Sure this is really a black mark
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: on us as the hospitality industry as well.
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: This is not who we are.
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: And somebody just text in and said, you know, it
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: was a bad idea. But again with these attractions like
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: gator Land and places like this are bad ideas.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Now Here's the thing.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: I will not agree with Gatorland because that is a
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: conservatory of a spot, and that gator Land also provides
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: the ability for the scientists to study the behavior of
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: the gators so that they can use that information and
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: spread that globally, which they do. We know that for
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: a fact, because we have somebody that worked here that
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: does that very thing. She goes all over the world
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: to inform people in environments about how to handle gators
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: or crocodiles and how to deal with them more efficiently.
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: So I would disagree with that because Gatorland doesn't have
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: situations like this. They take good care of those animals.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: They've done this for down fifty sixty years or whatever.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: This is a completely different machine. Gators are really resilient.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: They can handle a lot of different environments, and they
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: thrive in those environments.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't, I mean the sloth thing, like,
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: I had no idea that they could even be held
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: in captivity outside of zoos. I would think that that
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: would be the only place where you could have a slough,
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: because again, it just seems like their environmental needs are
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: considerably greater than a gator or something like that.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: I mean. The article in the UK says that the
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: guy who was supposedly the most respected sloth expert in
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: the world has left like he's he ducked out.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: Well, we also know another employee that left not long after.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: Matter of fact, after we had our meeting, we had
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: an employee that took off because you know, I heard
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: through the grapevine. I mean, this is just alleged that
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: they didn't think that the thing was being handled on
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: the up and up you gotta those, and did not
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: want to be a part of it as something went crazy,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: which it did.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: You got to check those slothtopsies.
- 1:24:04Speaker 9: Man, this is a bit.
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: This is bigger than all of us. They're doing that,
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: by the way, Yeah, they need to also do we
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: know if there are gonna be any charges. I mean,
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: I know that you said the FWC doesn't really recognize that,
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: but I mean, do you see this seems so grossly
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: exactly irresponsible and negligent.
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, that will be definitely interesting to see, especially
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: you know, you have to go with what is actually
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: on the books, what's provable, and you know who's liable.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: So you had this.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: Permitting these folks occupying a building that wasn't permitted for
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: this purpose, so that in itself is a whole thing.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: That's it sounds very easily to prove and to have
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: litigation against. So I think that's the easy answer there. Yeah,
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: and anything else you know in terms of like an
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: animal cruelty situation that that seems like a it might
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: be possible to prove as well.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: And by the way, people are texting in and said, hey,
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: didn't you guys interview these guys just a few months
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: ago or whatever? Yeah, we did, because we were told
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: from the people before they came in that the facility
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: was going to be like next level, was gonna be
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: top of the line.
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: It was built specifically to create an environment for these
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: guys so that they could thrive and then people could
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: kind of learn about them and see them and and
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: kind of know more about what they do and they're
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: and you know, how to conserve.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: But it turned out to be nothing like that at all.
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: I mean, that's that's another I'm with you on that
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: because when when these announcements were being made, I was
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: with Orlando Parenting and Orlando Date Night Guide. We got
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: the press releases, we put it in our last issue
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: of Orlando Parenting magazine. Because you unfortunately you take folks
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: at their their word. And then the other component being
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: there was another animal facility kind of like one or
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: two doorsteps away from where Sloth World the attraction is
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: supposed to be, and that never opened either. That was
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: called Cools Do and I. We had done an article
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: on that at our Land of Parenting in twenty twenty three.
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: So it's just been really interesting kind of the history
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: of what's happening there. And we've been updating Attractions Magazine
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: dot com as as things are progressing, because it's a big,
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: big thing.
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: Well, keep your eyes open for a place like called
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: zebra Zone or snake Spot or something.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: Zebra Zone. Hey, hey, hey, watch out, that's that's got legs. Hi. Well, Danny,

- 1:27:46Speaker 3: Or what's the dally? Oh No, it's happening. It's out
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: in New Sumyrna at a place called the Brennan Center.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: That's where I will be doing stand up tonight at
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: the Brennan Center. Yes, yes, check it out Ross Paget,
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: Bonker's comedy Productions, Bonker's comedy show.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Have you been doing them for years? Yeah? Yeah you headliney? Yeah,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: oh very nice. Is that all you do anymore? Yeah? Mainly? Yeah.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Very good for you, buddy, That's exactly what you should
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: be doing.
- 1:28:09Speaker 20: Well.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: There's always like times that you should try new stuff,
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: and that's why you go out on you know, Sunday
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: through Thursday, and then hopefully that stuff evolves and he
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: makes it to the weekend. I was listening to the
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: news Chuckie this morning. Do you know who was coming
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: to Orlando? He interviewed them today or interviewed him today.
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: I think the most underrated SNL character actor of all
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: time is going to be in Orlando soon to do
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: stand up. I think this is maybe the most underrated
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: SNL player ever. I couldn't tell you Bill Hayter.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: He doesn't do stand But the thing is is Hater
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: is you know, has gotten his juice.
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: I mean, Hater gets a lot of credit for the
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: stuff that he did because of the in perpetuity that
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: his clips live online. This guy didn't like have that,
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: but I still think he's one of the most underrated
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: players in SNL history. It's Kevin Nelan. Oh yes, Kevin
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: Nelan is a genius. And I will tell you something.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: If you haven't seen his stand up or if you
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: haven't been around his style of stand up, and you
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: get an opportunity to see Kevin Neelan when he comes
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: in town, you should do that because that guy is
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: balls funny, very clever, extremely smart. Jokes out of nowhere
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: to the dome. I mean, he is great as soon
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: as he always makes audiences think, oh, that's the joke,
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: and then the nonch line happens and then oh, I
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: didn't see that one.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: And one of the sweetest guys.
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: We get to meet him years and years ago, and
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: and he was actually in studio and one of the
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: nicest dudes ever. He really is a super cool guy.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: But he also does a lot of features and all
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: these little kind of weird off put kind of shows. Well,
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: he'll he like play a mechanic or something like that,
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: and he steals every scene he's in. He's just so good, dude.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: He is. Yeah, yeah, anyway four seven nine one six
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: four one texts seven seven zero three win saw a
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: thing on Reddit today? Are you a Reddit fan at all. K.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: Do you know what it is? Yes?
- 1:29:58Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Okay? Cool? Are you guys? Reddit guys, I can't even remember.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: I read it when I need to, but I don't
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: read it when I want to. You're right, So you
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: don't go there on a daily basis and just kind
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: of scan some of this stuff to see what's going on.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: No, I got to find some instruction manual that only
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: released in two thousand and six.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: I'm going to Reddit. Hey, guys. I usually find that
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: when I'm searching for something, Reddit will always be one
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: of the links that come out. That's wild.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: See, I knew nothing about reddit it until I started
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: listening to the news junkie. Sean Watson was the person
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: who kind of introduced me to the reddit. I think
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: he created reddit. He is the reddit it of all
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: reddit guys. I mean, the dude's a reddit dude. Well,
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: the reason I like it is because, for one thing,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: the am I the a hole is awesome because it
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: gives some really cool topics we've used on the show before,
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: and some of it it falls underneath the tier of
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: like kind of perfect debate, sometimes awesome debate. Well, this
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: one here is actually kind of interesting, all right, so
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: I saw a story on Reddit today and as a guy.
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: And sometimes this will happen on Reddit, by the way,
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: you somebody will just go on and they'll put a
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: story up and say, you know, what do you guys
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: think about this? You know, give me some feedback on this, right,
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: And the story today was this guy gets on Reddit
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: and he writes this story how he thinks there's a possibility.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: That his dad is gay.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: All right, that's married, he's at siblings, and he bases
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: it on this. He says, when I was young, my
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: dad had a friend who was considerably older than him.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I think. He said his dad was probably in the
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: thirty five to forty year old range when he was
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: this age.
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: You can't remember exactly, but he remembered at one point,
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: all of a sudden, his dad had a friend that
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: would come around a lot who was in his mid fifties, right,
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: And this friend was around all the time, and his
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: friend was named and they started calling this friend uncle Jim.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: Oh right, all right, okay, and uncle Jim in his fifties. Yeay,
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: Like real life story is no w it's on Reddit. No, No,
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: it's on a real life story. Get out of here.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I love my dad getting out. No, no, no, okay,
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: let's start that rumor. No, let's know it's about you.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: No time out, Leave him alone, Uncle Jim. Please continue, mother.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: So what happened was is this kid you know he
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: kids pay attention to stuff. I don't know if you
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: know that. I mean, you have a forefile. They know everything.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: Don't think you're fooling your kid. I got bad news
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: for you. You're not you know how they learn? Example
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: example example, So this kid, remembering back, was thinking to himself.
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: He goes, as an adult he was thinking about He goes, wow,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: you know, when I was young, my dad had this
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: friend we called Uncle Jim. It was around for a while,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: and he goes, I found it odd because Uncle Jim
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: would always give my dad very expensive gifts, guns, trips,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: fishing equipment, like all kinds of this stuff. And he says,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: as I remember the stuff, you start looking at the
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: prices of it, and like, one of these guns this
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: guy gave my dad was like fifteen hundred dollars, and
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: one of these trips he paid for was also over
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: one thousand dollars. And then all of a sudden, one day,
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: no more Jim. Uncle Jim never came around again, and
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: we never talked about it. And he said he thought,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: based on that story, there was a possibility that his
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: dad had a gay relationship with a guy named Uncle
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Jim for a period of time and then it went
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: away and nothing ever happened.
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: Where's mom and Nolda.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: It doesn't say anything about the wife.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: He just said he was happily married, and the guy
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: had a sibling, and the sibling never really was involved
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: with this decision making thing. This is actually him as
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: an adult, looking back on his life and thinking there's
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: a possibility that that was the case. Now, I never
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: had anything like that, but I will tell you his
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: story when my mom and dad, my dad.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Oh god, my dad's so alive. Hold on, can I
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: do this later? Okay, how would I do this? I
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: can just say it because it doesn't really matter anymore,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: all right. So let's say it's a guy whose name
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: rhymes with your dad. No, I don't, obviously, there's nothing
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: like that with my dad. But I do remember my
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: dad traveled a lot when we were young, which was
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: great because I didn't get along with him. It was
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: kind of me to me, so I I every time
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: he went away, I loved it, right, So he would
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: work in construction away from the house for weeks at
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: a time, right. And I remember that when Dad wasn't around,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: my mom.
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: Would take my sister and I and we would go
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: visit a friend of hers who was a guy named Lynn,
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: and he was a church guy. We never thought anything
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: about it because he was a church guy. So I
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: remember talking, if I remember right, I was talking to
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: my uncle and I remember bringing that story up. I said,
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: you remember when mom had a friend that went to
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: church and his name was Lynn, And I can't even
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: remember if Lynn was married. I just remember we used
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: to go over there and hang out some and he
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: had some stuff and that, like we would play in
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: his yard or whatever. And then I never knew and
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: I don't think my mom had that gear. But I
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: do remember that in my life when there was a
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: weird part, I couldn't explain what my mom was doing
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: at the time. What you've never asked, Yeah, no, my
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: mom's past now, but I would never I would have
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: never asked my mo on something like that. And I
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: don't talk to my dad, and my dad wouldn't know anyway.
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: I mean, do you feel you have a different relationship
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: with your own kids, Like, would they ask you somebody
- 1:35:09Speaker 4: my kids?
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: No, No, no, Mike.
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: My kids and I have always been, you know, relatively
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: in contact to the point where they would know, you
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: know nothing, you know like that, And I mean, I mean,
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I don't think anythink you know that's the case. Do
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: you think your kids would know if you were the
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: uncle Jim to another guy? Man, I gotta tell you,
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: I think they would. I'm telling you straight up.
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: I think if this situation was happening with me my
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: I think my kids would immediately call me out about.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: It, like, what's up with Uncle Jim? And this is
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: why you don't like hanging out with me. I don't
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: hang out with anybody, dude.
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: But I mean I wondered out there, like if anybody listening,
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: if they had a situation like that where they thought
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: there was a possibility like one of their parents could
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: have been, you know, kind of experimenting in that lifestyle
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: and they didn't know, but as a kid, they remembered
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: some things that made them think that way. Well, it's
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: first of all, for us to answer that question is
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: always going to be a pretty inflammatory you know, Like
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: I didn't say you guys, I said out there, I'm
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: not asking you to go, hey, your parents.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: Gay, because I mean, let's be for real, dude.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: My mom played for four in four LPGA Women's US Opens.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: But your mom also was married and had you and
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: your brother.
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: Yea, my mom uh had two kids. But I also
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: remember a friend named Byron, really similar haircut as my mom.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: So I also remember that. But it was Byron. Huh
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: it was Byron? Okay, yeah, yeah, I'll never forget her.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: She looked she was great at bowling. Yeah, yeah, oh god, no, oh,
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: she was just I don't know. She also like looked
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: after me a little bit. She's a silver fox.
- 1:36:43Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: Jeorts, heavy jeorts. Yeah, yeah, she was a kind of girls.
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: Okay, wait a minute, I thought Byron was a boy.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: No, Byron was a woman, a young lady. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: Typically it would be a male attributed to a man
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: that name.
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of that in America. But I'm
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: just like, is that a boy or girl?
- 1:37:05Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of that in America. Yeah, get
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: in line, I think, maybe tell me about it. Tad
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: that to that England as well.
- 1:37:10Speaker 7: Ya.
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: I got yelled at by my kid for misgendering somebody
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: to that. Did you really? Oh my god, I do
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: that all the time at Public's and.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: I'll never forget when I was at Jimmy John's and
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: they man, MAM's served me hit me with a mam man,
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: sir Jack, don't feel bad. I think I do that
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: once a week. I literally believe I miss gender somebody.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: Once a week. I do that.
- 1:37:33Speaker 16: I can.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: I tell you.
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: I actually tried to break the habit because I have
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: a terrible habit of feeling like I need to add
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: something on at the end of a transaction or something.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: I see what he did there, What do you mean transaction?
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: But like if I go buy something or whatever, you know,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: when somebody's bagging my groceries and everything's done, I'll go
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: thanks man, instead of just going thanks or I appreciate it.
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: I have to feel I feel like I need to
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: add that, Buddy Powell, I feel like I need to
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: add that little thing on.
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: And that's a terrible habit because now, I mean, you
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: have no idea, and I think it played last week
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: as well. I remember your Chelsea Handler interview. You're like,
- 1:38:12Speaker 3: what's going on, man, She's like, well, first of all,
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: I'm not a man.
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: I do that all the time though I say man,
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: and I just mean like, hu man, I don't mean
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: like man or woman. This Chelsea Handler corrected you on
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: you calling her man. Yeah, probably first thing the game. Yeah,
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: that's was that a good interview? I can't remember it was.
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: It made it for her best step. Yeah, that's great.
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: But we say guys all the time, even when it's
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: a bunch of girls. I got called out for that,
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: so we need to we need to come up with
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: some batter phrasing.
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: But I got the other one. Sometimes when you say girls,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: it's like, well, no, a grown woman, you're not supposed
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: to refer to as a girl, you know, a lady
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: or a woman. Yeah, that would that upset you if
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: I said if I said, uh, like, if I called
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: you a girl instead of a woman, No, it wouldn't
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: bother you.
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: I don't think I don't.
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: I mean, but it's kind of and it's a gender thing,
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: right that context also plays into it, I would say.
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: And also it depends on the context, you know, like
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: I think you can get away one hundred percent of
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: the way if it's in a joyous way.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: On up, girl, Hey girl, go girl. Right, right, right,
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: you go, girl that you're gonna get away with that.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: But if you literally call a woman like you are
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: a girl.
- 1:39:25Speaker 4: Yeah, you're being condescended.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's understood. I'll tell you what I do sometimes,
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: and you guys tell me if this is right or wrong. Right. So,
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: if I see a group of ladies and I know
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: that they're a certain age, you know, there's just something
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: about them where you can tell they're a certain age,
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: maybe a little bit older or whatever, I will say.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: I will say, how you doing? Girls, Yeah, you're good,
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: because I'm trying to kind of you know, and.
- 1:39:51Speaker 4: I can compliment.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: I could say ladies or something like that. But I
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: even think if you say young ladies, that's kind of
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: insulting because it's obvious they're not young ladies. But if
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: I'd say, hey, girls, how you doing, I think that's
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: kind of a way to say, you know, high to
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: them and maybe give a compliment without seeming like But
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: I guess I could just say hi, I don't have
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: to do anything else on there. That's the problem I am.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: They're also a big bubb guy, Bubba.
- 1:40:15Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: I remember one time you and I had an I
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: p a at a bar and you called the lesbian Bubba.
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: I'm sorry about that, bubb Come on, uncle, Jim.
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: You know where I struggle. Ross's as Pride games when
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: you like when you shout man on normally, Yeah, you
- 1:40:32Speaker 4: know when when someone's you know, running with the ball
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: and you're trying to tell them there's someone behind them,
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: and then in a city game you shout man on,
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: man on?
- 1:40:41Speaker 9: What are you shouting?
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: It's the same thing that syllables problem Jim, and the
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: pride is that's the I understand, I understand, but you
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: don't need to shout. I mean, it sounds so silly
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: to say girl on? Are woman on? You see? Man
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: is the person playing the game. It's not necessarily a
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: gender thing. And then I mean, yeah, human. But by
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: the way, when we first started the show and I'm
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: gonna do spots, I would say hey guys, and I
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: still do it today. I got called out by our
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: old boss for saying that.
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: They're like, you're saying hey guys too much and people
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: are getting mad because they think you're just talking to dudes.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: I'm like, is are you serious? Like, do not understand
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: what I'm saying When I say hey guys, I mean
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: guys could be anybody. It's not necessarily been per se.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: For twenty eight years, I used to start so many
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: things that they boys and girls. Yeah, I don't even
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: know if that's cool. Yeah, I'll be honest with you.
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: There's a I remember a lot of people who I
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: probably tend to disagree with more times than not politically
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: being upset about like they're taking out ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: and that one time I was like, actually, I'm kind
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: of with you on this one. They need to bring
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: back ladies and gentlemen. That was respectful. Yeah, and like
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: that warn't that was awesome. That's timeless. That's a suit
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: of greeting. It is the suit of greetings.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: Ladies and gentlemen so good.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: But I say bub to everybody. And the reason why
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: you should have seen this she was wearing plaid overalls.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: It was a rat I do did you swinger her
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: softball bat at stop? Well?
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: The reason why is my son his nickname is Bubub.
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: But every time anybody in the audience, I mean my
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: wife and I we say bub Like when I call him,
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: I was like, you know, love you, bub and then
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: we hang up the phone or hey, bubb you don't
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: play golf or whatever. I haven't called him by his
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: name in years, and bub just means like, you know,
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: cool person. It means like you know somebody, like I
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: call you bub. I've gotten hit by with from you.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: I've gotten bubbed a couple of times. But I don't
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: call older men. But like I would never call Jack bub.
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: I would only say to you because you're younger. Yeah, older, Yeah,
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: you're older than you. You've bubbed me multiple times, which
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: is why that like, yeah, I've been bubbed. I've been
- 1:42:51Speaker 3: I've been bubbed, rubbed and loved.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: Let me see if it works on UK. What's up?
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: Bub? Yeah?
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: That doesn't care for that. I don't know.
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: I mean England. You got love, yeah, deer, but.
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: You can't say that. You can't say that. There's no
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: way you say deer here and it is not good.
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: You say love. That's not good here.
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: But you got If you look like Jacob a lordie,
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: it's gonna be awesome. But if you look like us, right,
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: you're right, it's going to be like like some of
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: the girls that work in promotions here or like you know,
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: twenty five years old women. And if I were to
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: say if they were to bring something, I said, thank you, dear.
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: That sounds terrible, doesn't it.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: That's the female bub, is it? That's female bub. You're
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: not calling anybody older deer. Don't call him hun. No,
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: I'm not calling him hun.
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: That's somebody bringing you another cup of coffee.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, sweet? How about sweet teas?
- 1:43:41Speaker 19: No?

- 1:47:39Speaker 3: actual adult film title. Let's go with no Memory Manner?
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: Is an actual adult film title out of England?
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: That is all right?
- 1:47:51Speaker 16: Poor?

- 1:48:07Speaker 3: Big bend Over, Number two, Blokes and Gaggers or lastly
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: English Stuffings.
- 1:48:14Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, that's.
- 1:48:17Speaker 9: The one, buddy.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: I'm pretty proud of that one. All right, buddy, I'm
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: telling you that that's aver? Is that a I gotta
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: tell you, the best titled film, maybe of all time,
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: has been Blokes and Gaggers on the playofford of Cloak
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: and Daggers.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: Good good English Stuffings, not bad? It a couple that
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: did not make The only one I had that did
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: not make the cut was London's loose ladies. There you
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: go pick the porn English version.
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: Not Ben there you amazing.
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you've probably seen all you have of these, right,
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: He's like, you stop talking to me. Stop talking to me,
- 1:48:58Speaker 3: all right? Four seven nine before one. Congratulations Tyler, you're
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: a winner. Buddy Ross got some thoughts.
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: For us, Yes, I do.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: It's time to show respect for something that was decades
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: before its time. It has already came and gone. And
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: you know what, the gone part deserved a celebration, It
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: deserved a final goodbye. Dare I say it deserved a
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: final myth? I'm going to be talking about and reminding
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: people about one of the greatest shows that ever graced
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: television and also influenced, honestly all the way up unto
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: where we are right now when it comes to internet
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: videos and everything here in twenty twenty six. Really, and
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: that show is called After the Break. Oh all right,
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: take little break. We'll get back with some Ross thoughts

- 1:50:51Speaker 1: Let's get him.
- 1:50:53Speaker 21: It's weird crazy time. It's funny to be alive sometimes,
- 1:50:58Speaker 21: but it's better. It's raw spelled like sauce. It's Ross thoughts.
- 1:51:05Speaker 21: Welcome to Ross Thoughts, where things get weird. But first
- 1:51:08Speaker 21: of let me be professional about something cool, very cool,
- 1:51:12Speaker 21: ice cold cool.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: I'm talking about mills are. They hooked me up with
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: the carrier unit, And by hooked up, I mean I
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: I paid them. I bought an AC unit and this
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: thing has not had a single hiccup.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: It's a tank. Doug. And I'm being proactive.
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: I'm being you know, before the summer hits, I got
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: someone coming out making sure that I'm all good. Just
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: did that the two three weeks ago, the preventive meeting.
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: Its planet's an absolute must. And you heard the report earlier.
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: Jack said this is going to be near one hundred
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: degrees soon, so it's time to do it right now.
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: And you're adult.
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: I am adulting, and Mills Air helps me adult and
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: you if you need help adulting, Mills Air can help
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: you out as well.
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: Yeah, call Mills Air for all your acy questions, needs
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: and conversations. I have a problem late at night, right,
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: It's time time for me to kick back. Everyone's asleep,
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: people are sleeping. I'm talking to a pen. I'm ripping
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: a Penjamin Yeah, yeah, all right, Benjamin Button. All right,
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: I'm going Benjamin Button.
- 1:52:10Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: And uh, sometimes you guys ever scroll on your TV?
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: That's how sad I am scroll on your TV? You
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: ever scroll on your TV? I mean like channel flip?
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Nah dog, I'm talking about legit internet scrolling. No, I've
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: not done that.
- 1:52:25Speaker 10: Now.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: You haven't hit rock bottom yet. Well I'm looking forward
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: to it though.
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: Yay, have you opened up that YouTube ap on my Xbox,
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: you will see some of the craziest search histories. Because
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: I'm on that couch, it's late at night. The one
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: thing leads to another, and the one thing leads to another,
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: and then you see a crazy fact on a YouTube
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: short and then you have to double check it.
- 1:52:47Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: Yeah, And this was the YouTube short that I saw.
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: It was a guy holding a pen and as he
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: was holding his pen, he throws a pen and as
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: he throws it, he drops the pen in his left hand.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: He's throwing a pen and dropping a pin at the
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: same time, like an ink pin. Yeah, just like a
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: normal open pen. What what's he throwing the pin at?
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: Does it matter?
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: Does it matter throwing it because he's proving a point,
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: got it? He is proving that. Look at this pen
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: and this pen hitting the ground at the same time. Understood, right, yeah, okay?
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: And then I was like, what are you talking about?
- 1:53:20Speaker 7: It?
- 1:53:20Speaker 14: Right?
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: The pins aren't going to hit at the same time.
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: One of them is going forward, which then had me youtubing,
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: and then I go I go to the comments, and
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: the comments drop a little ditty.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: They go, yeah, this would be this would happen with
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: a bullet.
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: If you shot a bullet and dropped a bullet at
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: the same time, they would hit the ground at the
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: same time. I go, that's that's fabrication. Yes to all life.
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: That sounds kind of wild, that sounds made up. That's
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: not true, right yeah, because the trajectory of the bullet
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: would make a big difference. Right yeah, Well, the trajectory would.
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: But if it was flat, and if it was at
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: the same distance, if it was the same angle of
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: being shot and drop, yeah, the gun barrel would have
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: to be dead level, dead light, dead leve You'd literally
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: have to put a level on the barrel to make
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: it dead square, because I mean, if you were aiming
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: even a little bit up, that means the bullet's going
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: to stay in the air longer than the one that's dropping.
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: That is true, I think, But if it was dead
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: level at the same height of the bullet, drop still happens.
- 1:54:16Speaker 10: There.
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: Still seems crazy. Now they're sciencing that, Yeah, you seem
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: super crazy. So now next thing, I'm youtubing a YouTube
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: bullet gravity.
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: What pops up? A reminder someone who conducted this very experiment, No,
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: not someone, some people, two people, to be exact, and
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: like season three of myth Busters. Oh yeah, yeah, MythBusters.
- 1:54:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and it hit me that might be the most
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: important show for all of the millennial generation.
- 1:54:48Speaker 7: You know what.
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: You make a really good point there. Yeah, they were.
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: They were Neil de Grass before Neil de Grass. They
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: were the slow mo camera guys before the slow mo
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: camera guys were even a thing. They were dropping ten
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: thousand frames a second. So you, as a viewer, can
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: watch something that had never been seen before, week in,
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: week out. Yeah, and we just brushed it off like
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: normal television personality. They did it with personality, or at
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: least Adam had some personality. Well, and guess what, Jamie
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: had no personality, but the as the hat. Yeah, here's
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: the thing I little agree to disagree. You're right, the
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: no personality ends up being the personality.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: Do you think so?
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: Absolutely? The yin and the yang between Adam and Jamie,
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: and yes, word got out that they take really outstanding.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: They didn't really get along. They never hung out.
- 1:55:39Speaker 3: Jamie thought Adam was like a fool, like I mean,
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: not a fool, but like a gesture like he he
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: hated the fact that you had to bring entertainment into it.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: From what I understand, and.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: I just I just had a crazy person laugh at
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: here I am getting YouTube shorted as in rock Bottom
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: of entertainment, of just getting a lobotomy of content viewing
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: of just scroll one minute, scroll one minute, Yeah, on
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: my seventy inch TV. Trust me, it gets sad if
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: you ever walk in on the room and see it.
- 1:56:07Speaker 3: And I see that experiment, and then I double check
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: to see if it's actually true what the YouTube comment says.
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: And guess where I go.
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: I go back to a show from twenty two thousand
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: and six, and it just kind of made me laugh
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: on seeing Jamie and Adam do the same exact experiment
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: that here I am twenty years later, going, there's no
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: way this is true.
- 1:56:30Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a balance gun.
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: They level it out, They have an electronic electrical charge
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: going to the device that drops the bullet. They drop
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: the bullet, shoot the bullet at the same time. It
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: hits the ground at the same time. A bullet being shot.
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: That's amazing because it has no wings, it has nothing
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: for it to go up. Yeah, gravity will be inevitable,
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: and it's.
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: Falling immediately right. It is out of the barrel. It
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: is losing altitude, of media, which.
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: Then really goofs up the YouTube algorithm because now I'm like, well,
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: how do scopes work. Do scopes keep an account the
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: whole gravity?
- 1:57:08Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and they do.
- 1:57:10Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: You have to you aim them to click, so when
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: you look through the scope at your target, you've you've
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: calibrated that so that it takes the arc into consideration.
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: So now I'm going down this same thing with a bone.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: Arrow, weird wormhole of gravity and bullets and snipers and scopes.
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: And it's all because of the most important show for
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: all of the millennial generation.
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: I wanted to rag your ball so bad. I knew it.
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: I thought it was gonna be something stupid. I hate
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: the fact that I kind of have to agree with
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: you painfully interesting.
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: So many experiments, I promise you, so many people from
- 1:57:44Speaker 3: the ages of like twenty eight to forty just know
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: about probably like three to five experiments that they saw
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: on that show. There's still people you know, like the
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: one of the most infamous ones was walking in the
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: rain or running in the rain to get wetter or less.
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: Well, I do remember that, and they were like, yeah.
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: Running in the rain, I believe if I remember correctly,
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: running in the rain is still the most effective way
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: to avoid the rain. Yeah, avoid getting wet. Yeah, I
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: should tell you. Just fascinating, a fascinating show that literally
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: if you look at the Internet, they were just doing
- 1:58:19Speaker 3: what the Internet did professionally and taking time giving you answers.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Way ahead of time. You're right, dude, that thing was
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: way before it's time, because really there's still YouTube channels
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: doing that very thing today, just like with shinier stuff.
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: That's it.
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: And guess who those YouTube channels are featuring. Oh yeah,
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: they're featuring at them. Do you remember the other players
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: on the show?
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: I remember? Also the heartbreak. How about this Asian dude,
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: Grant Grant Yeah bad, Yeah, he's super dead. Yeah yeah.
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: Also the girl Carrie, Carrie, she's alive. Yeah, but she
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: turned on like a she actually she got some heat
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: from that show, dude. She she kind of turned into
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: a little bit of a like a hottie and got
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: some juice that way. Also, there is another one that
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: passed away. She wasn't as prominent, but there was Jesse Combs.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: Do you know, I don't know if I remember. She
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: came in after everybody else. She's like at the end
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: of it, she had a couple of episodes. Well she's
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: the car, she was the driver. Yeah, do you know
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: what happened to her?
- 1:59:18Speaker 3: Yeah, she died in a crash, like trying to test
- 1:59:20Speaker 3: a do you have a car to go to the
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: fastests or something?
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: Right, she died doing a land speed record. Yeah.
- 1:59:26Speaker 3: So like once the star broke up and do they
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: have so Once again, this show wasn't just entertainment. They
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: were real amazing go getters getting after it in front
- 1:59:38Speaker 3: of these cameras. And I think it's such a such
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: a test of time, right, is when your YouTube algorithms
- 1:59:44Speaker 3: starts pumping you back into television shows that are almost
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: twenty years old. Now, if that's not one of the
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: newest compliments you can give television. Uh, pond Stars, have
- 1:59:56Speaker 3: you have you gone down a pond Star YouTube thing?
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been. I've been a Pond Story's guy for
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: the for a while because I looked like the dude
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: Rick Harrison. His son just died too. Really, I think, well,
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: maybe let me he was sick in Mexico or yeah,
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: sick in Mexico usually has the same end result. Yeah,
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: the father passed. I was wrong there, Yeah, the father
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: did past They called him the Old Man.
- 2:00:19Speaker 3: Yeah, the show and uh, but all of those shows
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: that I think it was Discovery as well, that that
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: they dropped on. It just made science cool and it
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: and it also one of the very few shows and
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: I did a very small amount of research for this,
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: and one of the things that my research brought up
- 2:00:36Speaker 3: one of the first shows that was open about being wrong.
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: When they got something wrong, they showed it, they talked
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: about it. They went on this episode two years ago,
- 2:00:50Speaker 3: the listeners and the viewers brought up some great points
- 2:00:53Speaker 3: and you know what, they were right. There was this
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: weird science accountability. Not weird for science to have accountab
- 2:01:00Speaker 3: but it is weird to have television shows have that
- 2:01:03Speaker 3: level of honesty and vulnerability about going yep, hands up,
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: we were wrong. Yeah, And I did they try to
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: spin the show, spin a show off of that featuring
- 2:01:13Speaker 3: Grant and Carrie and one of the there's another younger guy. Yep,
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: that was part of it as well. I thought they
- 2:01:19Speaker 3: tried to spin that off anymore because they kind of
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: knew by the way we met Jamie and Adam. I
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: just remember they came to the station once Adam was great.
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: Jamie said three words the entire time, like did not
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: want to engage at all, Like did not suffer fools easily.
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: There was I was a fool, I am, And you.
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: Know to your point of going that it was when
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: you see a television show like that and you think
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: about these different eras. It it's such a time machine.
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: It's such a sign of the times because now a
- 2:01:48Speaker 3: MythBusters just wouldn't exist. It would be a YouTube channel
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: and fifteen minutes long, without the budget, without the same
- 2:01:56Speaker 3: professionalism of all these people who were some trying to
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: go for a land record. I don't know, man, it
- 2:02:03Speaker 3: was such a it was so cool. Agreed, dude, to
- 2:02:05Speaker 3: go down the time machine wormhole of myth most Now
- 2:02:09Speaker 3: you're gonna make me do it this weekend. I'm gonna
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: wind up doing that for a couple hours. I bet
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: that's finding the coolest stuff.
- 2:02:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I've never seen it. Oh now I'm ten.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: Years, fifteen years, twenty years ahead of its time. And
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: these guys were I believe both of them, or at
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: least one of them, worked in the boot the movie business,
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: building like movie sets and stuff like that.
- 2:02:27Speaker 3: Did they not believe both of them came from that
- 2:02:29Speaker 3: that stunt explosive Hollywood thing. I think Adam was more
- 2:02:34Speaker 3: on the I think Adam was more on the Hollywood side.
- 2:02:37Speaker 3: And I think Jamie actually had, like you said, a
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: munitions company that created charges and stuff for the movie business.
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: And that it ended in twenty sixteen after fourteen seasons,
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: no big myth, no big series finale, no nothing, had
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: just vanished.
- 2:02:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, crazy now here. I am trying to give
- 2:02:57Speaker 3: it some good, some little bit of a send off. Estymathbusters.

- 2:04:05Speaker 22: I just want to rebut Ross's idea thinking that MythBusters
- 2:04:10Speaker 22: was the most important show for millennials.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: I think that was Mister Wizard's World back on Nickelodeon.
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: That was the man.
- 2:04:22Speaker 10: All right, Oh that last segment, cool blimey got me going.

- 2:05:10Speaker 4: of southern, very London.

- 2:05:43Speaker 1: Question for k sure, Yes, what what have you been
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: doing more now that you retired from your official work position.
- 2:05:53Speaker 3: That's a great question because I got to tell you
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: I do have a bit of a plan. I'm wondering
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: if you had a plan after after it was all done.
- 2:06:00Speaker 4: I don't know if there was a plan. I think
- 2:06:03Speaker 4: there was a bunch of reasons about why I retired.
- 2:06:06Speaker 4: I think the first one was, you know, you don't
- 2:06:10Speaker 4: want to leave when the club is in a difficult place,
- 2:06:16Speaker 4: which it was a few years ago. You know, when
- 2:06:18Speaker 4: it's something you started and it's not doing so well.
- 2:06:22Speaker 4: But we have a great you know, great owners, We
- 2:06:24Speaker 4: have a great ceo. You know, the banter in the
- 2:06:28Speaker 4: office is back, so that was a good.
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: That was good.
- 2:06:32Speaker 4: I also have two daughters getting married this year, so
- 2:06:34Speaker 4: I'm going to be in the UK, you know, a
- 2:06:37Speaker 4: fair bit like June and again in September.
- 2:06:40Speaker 1: Flying Spirit.
- 2:06:42Speaker 4: Why wouldn't you I don't think they'd go that far,
- 2:06:46Speaker 4: I know, but a lot more like it's I love
- 2:06:50Speaker 4: getting up in the morning having coffee and like being
- 2:06:53Speaker 4: able to sit out and just read. I'm a big reader.
- 2:06:57Speaker 4: I love reading, so that's nice. And then getting around
- 2:07:01Speaker 4: to having coffee or lunch or happy hour with people.
- 2:07:05Speaker 4: You keep saying, oh, you know, we must do now,
- 2:07:07Speaker 4: I can you know I have time to do that, and.
- 2:07:10Speaker 3: You are extremely socially connected in the city of Orlando.
- 2:07:14Speaker 3: So I can't imagine there's ever a moment where you
- 2:07:16Speaker 3: couldn't find someone to share a cup of coffee or
- 2:07:18Speaker 3: tea or or a lunch with you of some sort.
- 2:07:20Speaker 3: I mean, I can't imagine. And do people request your
- 2:07:22Speaker 3: time a lot because of your position and what you've
- 2:07:25Speaker 3: done and stuff?
- 2:07:26Speaker 4: Yeah, what's actually been interesting? And you know, at some point,
- 2:07:30Speaker 4: I guess I need to start monetizing this. But I've
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: actually had two calls in the last week with two
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: people who are looking to invest in women's sports, okay,
- 2:07:42Speaker 4: and they just want to talk to you about, you know,
- 2:07:44Speaker 4: your experience, what it was like, you know what we've
- 2:07:48Speaker 4: seen happen in women's sports, which obviously has you know,
- 2:07:51Speaker 4: an old women's sports right, yeah, has just gone gangusters now.
- 2:07:56Speaker 4: So I do get those kind of requests. Yeah, you know,
- 2:08:00Speaker 4: I had somebody who's looking at investing in a team
- 2:08:03Speaker 4: in Scotland.
- 2:08:04Speaker 3: Oh wow, really that's crazy. Yeah, he'll be issue a
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: silly question. Yeah, or here's a silly question for you.
- 2:08:09Speaker 3: You say that female sports are blowing up, and I agree.
- 2:08:11Speaker 3: You know, we've this volleyball team, the Valcorie has been
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: in town now for a couple three years or whatever.
- 2:08:15Speaker 3: Still to going gangbusters obviously the excuse me, the Bride
- 2:08:18Speaker 3: have done quite well. And do you do you guys
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: attribute any of that to the attention that Caitlin Clark
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: kind of brought to female sports through the WNBA and
- 2:08:29Speaker 3: that kind of that kind of like and I'm not
- 2:08:31Speaker 3: saying that the Pride needed that or any of the
- 2:08:33Speaker 3: female sports didn't, but all of a sudden, the entire country,
- 2:08:36Speaker 3: I would say, even maybe the globe was paying attention
- 2:08:39Speaker 3: to this one young lady doing something very special in
- 2:08:41Speaker 3: the WNBA.
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: Did you guys see like an impact of that in
- 2:08:45Speaker 1: your club? Absolutely, even though it's soccer, it's not even
- 2:08:48Speaker 1: the same that matter, No.
- 2:08:49Speaker 4: It doesn't matter. And I think you know when you look,
- 2:08:53Speaker 4: and obviously I know more about what's going on in
- 2:08:55Speaker 4: women's soccer, but when you look now at who's investing.
- 2:08:59Speaker 4: So I actually sat on a panel a few months
- 2:09:02Speaker 4: ago for Raymond James, who are obviously a you know,
- 2:09:06Speaker 4: massive global entity, and their whole panel was around, you know,
- 2:09:12Speaker 4: who's investing in women's sports and why should you? It
- 2:09:17Speaker 4: was fascinating and obviously I did some research before I
- 2:09:20Speaker 4: went on. I always want to know what I'm talking about,
- 2:09:24Speaker 4: and there's a really great information out there and analytical
- 2:09:29Speaker 4: data that is looking at not only who's investing, they're
- 2:09:33Speaker 4: looking at TV deals like this is where this is
- 2:09:37Speaker 4: where the pendulum will really swing. Unfortunately, unless you can
- 2:09:42Speaker 4: see sport on your regular channel, you don't have to
- 2:09:46Speaker 4: look for it. It's there in your face. It's being
- 2:09:50Speaker 4: advertised to you in a way that gets you excited.
- 2:09:55Speaker 4: Then that's when the pendulum will really swing. Sure, you know,
- 2:09:58Speaker 4: if you look at whenever there's an NFL game, it's
- 2:10:01Speaker 4: in you, like here, all these ads coming at you,
- 2:10:03Speaker 4: and you never get that with the women's gay right
- 2:10:06Speaker 4: right right.
- 2:10:07Speaker 3: I found something interesting as well when I went to
- 2:10:09Speaker 3: a couple of the city games last year, and I
- 2:10:11Speaker 3: forget which game it was. I remember you were so
- 2:10:14Speaker 3: nice to extend some tickets, which I deeply appreciate. I
- 2:10:16Speaker 3: took a couple of my daughters and boyfriend out. I
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: think we got four tickets. We went out and saw
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: a game, and when I look around, I saw something
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: kind of interesting. Now, when I was a kid, right,
- 2:10:27Speaker 3: I have a sister, and I never saw I never
- 2:10:29Speaker 3: did anything with her. I never did anything with my
- 2:10:31Speaker 3: sister matter of fact. I mean, and I love her dearly,
- 2:10:34Speaker 3: but we you know, we again, we've talked rarely now
- 2:10:36Speaker 3: because we just didn't really have anything in common. It's
- 2:10:38Speaker 3: not that she's in a good person. She's awesome, right,
- 2:10:41Speaker 3: but the fact is we just never were really close
- 2:10:43Speaker 3: when we were kids. And what I see from my
- 2:10:47Speaker 3: era is a lot of that, right. You know, Brothers
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: did the brothers thing and sisters did the sister's stuff.
- 2:10:52Speaker 3: When I went to that game, I noticed something that
- 2:10:54Speaker 3: I found very interesting. Brothers and sisters were coming to
- 2:10:58Speaker 3: the games together, young brother and young sisters. Now the
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: brother may be a baseball player, the sister could be
- 2:11:03Speaker 3: the soccer player. But the cool thing is they were
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: both wearing the kit and they were there as athletes.
- 2:11:10Speaker 3: It had nothing to do with them like maybe being
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: brother or sister. They were there because they appreciated each
- 2:11:15Speaker 3: other's athletic endeavors, which I found really cool. You found brothers,
- 2:11:19Speaker 3: little brothers that would normally like, oh that's my gross
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: sister really kind of embracing the idea that their sister
- 2:11:25Speaker 3: is there to watch a ball game just like they are.
- 2:11:28Speaker 3: I found that to be kind of a cool, kind
- 2:11:30Speaker 3: of like side effect that happened from the club because
- 2:11:35Speaker 3: you guys really do market quite well to that youth growd,
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: and you guys get a lot of people, a lot
- 2:11:41Speaker 3: of young people coming out to see those games.
- 2:11:43Speaker 4: Yeah, and I you know, and I think there's been
- 2:11:46Speaker 4: a pendulum switch as well in terms of you know,
- 2:11:50Speaker 4: I think I think dove Di at the advert where
- 2:11:53Speaker 4: they said how do you run like a girl? How
- 2:11:55Speaker 4: do you throw like a it was you know, like this,
- 2:11:58Speaker 4: and then they showed, right, it's actually running and it's
- 2:12:04Speaker 4: you know, it's changing that mindset and it's you know,
- 2:12:07Speaker 4: and you have to call it out when you hear it,
- 2:12:08Speaker 4: when someone says, oh, you know, it's women's sports. Yeah, no,
- 2:12:12Speaker 4: it's women's sports, and it's great.
- 2:12:14Speaker 1: I was so kind.
- 2:12:15Speaker 3: I was so lucky to back in the day, the
- 2:12:18Speaker 3: LPGA had an event out at Reunion and they came
- 2:12:21Speaker 3: through and they were nice enough. It was the Gain
- 2:12:24Speaker 3: Open g I n N. I think Gaen is a
- 2:12:26Speaker 3: realtor real estate company here in Orlando, and I think
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: actually they may be the managing partners or are developers
- 2:12:33Speaker 3: of Reunion, which is do you know where that is? Yea, yeah, yeah,
- 2:12:36Speaker 3: for people who do not reunion out on the UH
- 2:12:38Speaker 3: near the Celebration past Disney area as a giant, living
- 2:12:42Speaker 3: kind of golf community with three.
- 2:12:43Speaker 4: We've had a tournament out there, yeah, with three golf.
- 2:12:45Speaker 3: Courses built by three named Palmer, Nicholas, and Watson built
- 2:12:50Speaker 3: courses out there, and it's awesome. It's a beautiful property.
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: And I was I was lucky enough to play in
- 2:12:55Speaker 3: the pro am and I got to play with a
- 2:12:57Speaker 3: young lady named Lorena Achoa. And at the time, I
- 2:12:59Speaker 3: think Lorena was either one or two in the world.
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: And it's so funny, you know, just playing golf and
- 2:13:06Speaker 3: doing that whole thing watching her. I think I learned
- 2:13:08Speaker 3: more from watching Lorena Achoa play around of golf that
- 2:13:11Speaker 3: I've done any time. And I grew up playing with
- 2:13:13Speaker 3: the dude who played the PGA Tour for a while.
- 2:13:15Speaker 3: But because she was just so accessible, and I tell
- 2:13:18Speaker 3: you the other the very appreciative of the opportunity she
- 2:13:22Speaker 3: was getting to play in the States and make money
- 2:13:24Speaker 3: doing what she left for a living, and so much
- 2:13:25Speaker 3: so she actually pieced out as the number one. After
- 2:13:28Speaker 3: she won money, she wanted to start her family and
- 2:13:30Speaker 3: she'd already had that. She quit playing golf completely and
- 2:13:32Speaker 3: went and started her family.
- 2:13:34Speaker 4: But they found that female athletes are so much more
- 2:13:38Speaker 4: engaged and that's what people are loving that they can
- 2:13:41Speaker 4: you know, find out about them, they can you know,
- 2:13:43Speaker 4: watch them on Instagram, you know, whatever it is that
- 2:13:45Speaker 4: they're doing. Look at the Olympics, like if the if
- 2:13:50Speaker 4: the women US team, they would have come i think
- 2:13:54Speaker 4: third or fourth, just on their own right without the
- 2:13:57Speaker 4: guys right right, right right, you know, they on so
- 2:14:00Speaker 4: many medals.
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: So in Jackets an Olympic junkie, and I will tell
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: you we talk about the Olympics all the time, summer
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: and winter, and a lot of the times when we
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: talk we talk about the female the sports that are
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: dumb other you know, whether it be the ice skating,
- 2:14:12Speaker 1: whether it be the downhill skiing, any of that stuff.
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: It's fascinating.
- 2:14:16Speaker 4: Yeah, everyone becomes a curling action for like a month.
- 2:14:20Speaker 4: Everyone's like so into the curling.
- 2:14:23Speaker 1: I know, I'm I'm just a sucker for the nationalistic
- 2:14:27Speaker 1: approach and that's where it's all team U s A.
- 2:14:30Speaker 1: I throw it on there. If it's the Olympics that
- 2:14:33Speaker 1: I'm totally into it and I'll watch anything. Yeah, you
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: will watch anything if you know, a lot of those
- 2:14:40Speaker 1: activities are happening, whether it's the X Games or they
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: happen like you know, all four years in between. But man,
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: it's just when it's all together in the Olympics, I'm
- 2:14:52Speaker 1: in Yeah, there's nothing like it. Again. You get the
- 2:14:54Speaker 1: national aspect of it as well too.
- 2:14:56Speaker 4: We got World Cup next year.
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you see some of the tickets.
- 2:15:00Speaker 4: So sorry this year, I know, but then next year
- 2:15:04Speaker 4: is the Women's World Cup. It's in Brazil, which she's
- 2:15:06Speaker 4: a great place to have it will place right.
- 2:15:09Speaker 22: Well.
- 2:15:10Speaker 4: I went to the twenty fourteen World Cup, which was
- 2:15:14Speaker 4: coincidentally when Kaka signed for Orlando City. So we were
- 2:15:19Speaker 4: in Brazil and all we kept seeing on the TV
- 2:15:22Speaker 4: Waskaca and Orlando like it was incredible, and we were yeah,
- 2:15:27Speaker 4: oh gigantic, And we were all wearing our purple Orlando
- 2:15:31Speaker 4: and people just kept coming up to us and like
- 2:15:34Speaker 4: trying to get your jersey off you. They were trying
- 2:15:36Speaker 4: to swap jerseys.
- 2:15:36Speaker 1: Oh really, oh yeah, they were just they would just
- 2:15:39Speaker 1: love How huge was that signing on that first year
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: of MLS to be able to have him, It was huge.
- 2:15:46Speaker 4: It was huge and he's such a good guy. He's
- 2:15:49Speaker 4: so humble, you know, he was always first in training,
- 2:15:53Speaker 4: like worked so hard. Was not the whole let's you know,
- 2:15:58Speaker 4: what's the character until last. That's based on Latown.
- 2:16:06Speaker 1: It began with the Z Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 2:16:07Speaker 4: I can't remember his name anyway, that's who it was
- 2:16:09Speaker 4: based on because he was all all about me, like
- 2:16:14Speaker 4: I mean Slaton when he signed for l A, he
- 2:16:18Speaker 4: took a full page ad out in the LA. I
- 2:16:22Speaker 4: remember that d l A, d l A, you'll welcome.
- 2:16:27Speaker 4: But then he came on and scored this incredible goal.
- 2:16:31Speaker 3: And you're like, well that kind of you know, when
- 2:16:33Speaker 3: Beckham came over and started the real the movement from
- 2:16:37Speaker 3: you know to the MLS and showed really people who
- 2:16:39Speaker 3: were playing international soccer that you know there was another
- 2:16:42Speaker 3: option maybe when you get to the point where where
- 2:16:44Speaker 3: you weren't quite quick enough or had this step to
- 2:16:46Speaker 3: play Premier League or into the other leagues, that you
- 2:16:48Speaker 3: can come to the US and play MLS soccer. That
- 2:16:50Speaker 3: must have been like, how did Britz feel about that
- 2:16:53Speaker 3: when Beckham went to the US and did it feel
- 2:16:56Speaker 3: like a like a like they were like he was
- 2:16:59Speaker 3: shading the UK or or or were they kind of
- 2:17:02Speaker 3: happy that he was going over to make an impression
- 2:17:04Speaker 3: for English soccer on the American market.
- 2:17:07Speaker 4: I think, I mean, I think there was definitely surprise.
- 2:17:11Speaker 4: But they talk about the Beckham effect and you know,
- 2:17:13Speaker 4: there's no denying, right, you know.
- 2:17:16Speaker 3: What he well, he was, what he did, he was
- 2:17:18Speaker 3: Also you have to understand, he was a really unique thing.
- 2:17:20Speaker 3: Whereas Coca didn't have the the marketing aspect behind him,
- 2:17:24Speaker 3: you know, or even with Marta didn't have like the
- 2:17:27Speaker 3: same marketing thing. When Beckham came over, it was a
- 2:17:30Speaker 3: full blown here's a soccer superstar that's very visible, very marketable,
- 2:17:35Speaker 3: and that's why he hit us like a like a
- 2:17:37Speaker 3: hammer to the face.
- 2:17:38Speaker 4: And he was so funny.
- 2:17:43Speaker 1: And then Wayne Rooney he was another one of those
- 2:17:46Speaker 1: guys driving the sierry on ree.
- 2:17:47Speaker 4: I mean there's been there's been you know, there's been
- 2:17:50Speaker 4: a steady kind of drip if you like. But that's
- 2:17:53Speaker 4: changing now. I mean, anybody who came to the game
- 2:17:55Speaker 4: on gosh, where are we Wednesday? Is it Wednesday?
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: Yes?
- 2:18:01Speaker 4: Yes, four one. We had all our kids on there.
- 2:18:05Speaker 4: We have so many people out injured at the moment
- 2:18:08Speaker 4: and we had a bunch of kids who were in
- 2:18:10Speaker 4: our from our OCB team, and it's so cool to
- 2:18:14Speaker 4: see that happening.
- 2:18:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's keep the kids up, that's the future. Yeah,
- 2:18:18Speaker 3: keep the kids out if you're if you're winning, for one,
- 2:18:20Speaker 3: keep the kids up. That's gonna do quite well for you.
- 2:18:23Speaker 4: Absolutely, No, it was so good to see.
- 2:18:25Speaker 3: Yeah, all right four oh seven nine one six one
- 2:18:27Speaker 3: four one text us at seven seven zero three one, Jack.
- 2:18:30Speaker 3: I actually forgot to ask you about your cruise. Yes,
- 2:18:33Speaker 3: you said that you were going to sneak some alcohol.
- 2:18:37Speaker 1: Wh whoa, whoa, whoa. That sounds illegal. That sounds like
- 2:18:40Speaker 1: it's violating the rules. Let me just say this about that, Jimmy.
- 2:18:43Speaker 1: In the past, I have had these unique methods of
- 2:18:47Speaker 1: heating up Captain Morgan's, putting it in a Snapple bottle
- 2:18:50Speaker 1: so it would cool down and then it would reseal
- 2:18:54Speaker 1: and you could bring it on and it would look
- 2:18:55Speaker 1: like peach Snapple. Or I took the bladder out of
- 2:18:58Speaker 1: a box of Joe and filled that with alcohol and
- 2:19:01Speaker 1: laid it in my luggage, and or the time the
- 2:19:04Speaker 1: two liter bottle where I filled it with Captain Morgans
- 2:19:06Speaker 1: and then I'd reseal the top because you could bring
- 2:19:09Speaker 1: on soft drinks. You can't pull that with Holland America.
- 2:19:12Speaker 1: You can only bring on two bottles of wine. Uh huh.
- 2:19:16Speaker 1: So thanks to my friend Tom Pisano and the Pisano
- 2:19:19Speaker 1: Brothers Brewery gave me two bottles of wine, empty filled.
- 2:19:23Speaker 1: One was filled with old fashions. The other one was
- 2:19:26Speaker 1: filled with Captain Morgan. You premixed old fashions. All you
- 2:19:29Speaker 1: had to do is pour it over ice. Better. Yet
- 2:19:32Speaker 1: I didn't premix it. The brand. I believe it's Penelope.
- 2:19:34Speaker 1: They brought him to the monsters. One day. Angel for
- 2:19:37Speaker 1: my birthday gifted me this a walnut flavored old fashioned
- 2:19:41Speaker 1: pre made it like a seven to fifty m l bottle,
- 2:19:44Speaker 1: but I put it in a wine bottle, corked them.
- 2:19:46Speaker 1: Then you put the wine tops on. They heat shrink.
- 2:19:49Speaker 1: You hit them with the hair dryer and then the
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: top shrink right on it and it looks like a
- 2:19:53Speaker 1: bottle of wine. Baby, and I brought my I brought
- 2:20:00Speaker 1: my own wine, brought a backup wine key, and there
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: was a wine key waiting for me in my room.
- 2:20:05Speaker 4: Wow, it seems to be a YouTube video Jack of.
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: How I don't want them, mind, I don't want them
- 2:20:10Speaker 1: to Canada, so we would do it.
- 2:20:12Speaker 3: So we like to take it to the state parks, right,
- 2:20:15Speaker 3: but you can't take alcohol to the state parks. And
- 2:20:16Speaker 3: when you go to Itchituckney Springs up in North Florida
- 2:20:19Speaker 3: to go like tubing down these crystal clear rivers. The
- 2:20:22Speaker 3: one thing is you can't bring any liquor until you
- 2:20:25Speaker 3: go online and find the fake suntan bottles yeah yeahah,
- 2:20:30Speaker 3: and the fake squirter bottles and you fill those up
- 2:20:32Speaker 3: with shots or whatever, and it looks like you're just
- 2:20:35Speaker 3: carrying suntan lotion, but in reality you're carrying you know,
- 2:20:39Speaker 3: not quite a seven fifty.
- 2:20:40Speaker 1: You cannot do that. No, you can't bring that. You
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: can bring you can bring those big drink cups, and
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: we did. I brought my own walla cup on I
- 2:20:47Speaker 1: mean empty or it had water in it because you know,
- 2:20:49Speaker 1: I wanted to hydrate in between the shore. Yeah, and
- 2:20:52Speaker 1: then sometimes show that up with right all right four
- 2:20:55Speaker 1: oh seven nine one text does at seven seven zero
- 2:20:58Speaker 1: three one single break back in a s We'll get

- 2:23:25Speaker 18: As long as the griffy cards aren't blocking a parking

- 2:24:07Speaker 3: there's no chance you're understanding even one syllable of that dude.
- 2:24:10Speaker 1: That brogue is brutal.
- 2:24:13Speaker 4: Yeah, if you haven't seen any Billy Connolly.
- 2:24:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure, I will
- 2:24:18Speaker 3: tell you one of the coolest like people who kind
- 2:24:21Speaker 3: of mask that. By the way, Welcome to the Jim
- 2:24:23Speaker 3: Colbert Show. I'm Jim k rollins Wiz today and Jack
- 2:24:26Speaker 3: here as well. By the way, looking forward to seeing
- 2:24:27Speaker 3: everybody out at Everglades tonight. For you guys who bought tickets,
- 2:24:30Speaker 3: I'll be down there, probably get there around seven twenty
- 2:24:32Speaker 3: seven thirty. You'll be starting without Maybe that's okay. We'll
- 2:24:35Speaker 3: catch up for sure, and thank you for joining us.
- 2:24:37Speaker 3: It's gonna be a great time. The food is amazing
- 2:24:39Speaker 3: and I haven't had an opportunity to have one of
- 2:24:41Speaker 3: these rosen pairing dinners. Let me tell you it's money
- 2:24:44Speaker 3: well spent. For the record, we work with these guys
- 2:24:47Speaker 3: to keep the prices down. A tasting men and you
- 2:24:50Speaker 3: like this at a restaurant in Orlando would be one
- 2:24:52Speaker 3: hundred and seventy five dollars or so, just based on
- 2:24:55Speaker 3: the wine we're offering tonight. So when you hear us
- 2:24:57Speaker 3: talk about these things, if you can manage in there financially,
- 2:25:00Speaker 3: do it because they are incredibly cool experiences and looking
- 2:25:04Speaker 3: forward to the one again tonight. Okay, did you ever
- 2:25:06Speaker 3: see the movie No Country for Old Men? Yes, one
- 2:25:08Speaker 3: of my favorite movies of all time. I think it's amazing.
- 2:25:12Speaker 1: Are you lying this? The guy with the bowl haircut?
- 2:25:15Speaker 5: You?
- 2:25:16Speaker 1: Okay? So Carmick McCarthy novel.
- 2:25:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so it's so the guy Josh Brolin, the
- 2:25:23Speaker 3: guy who was the guy who finds the money, right,
- 2:25:25Speaker 3: do you remember his girlfriend? She is the one who
- 2:25:28Speaker 3: had the real thick Southern accent. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 2:25:32Speaker 3: I mean it was like but it was but it
- 2:25:34Speaker 3: was perfect, you know, from a guy who's hurt a
- 2:25:35Speaker 3: couple of Southern accents.
- 2:25:37Speaker 1: It's perfect.
- 2:25:37Speaker 5: Right.
- 2:25:38Speaker 3: If you live in the South, and I lived in
- 2:25:39Speaker 3: North Florida, I might as well be South Georgia, You've
- 2:25:41Speaker 3: done it. She's Scottish. Her name is Kelly McDonald and
- 2:25:44Speaker 3: she's in Scottish actress. And when you see her do
- 2:25:47Speaker 3: interviews like on like Fallon to promote these things and
- 2:25:50Speaker 3: you hear her talk, you're like, that's the most amazing
- 2:25:52Speaker 3: acting thing I've ever seen in my entire life to
- 2:25:55Speaker 3: be able to mask that, because it's so thick and.
- 2:25:58Speaker 4: So throaty h that's yeah, that's a tough one.
- 2:26:02Speaker 1: What's the worst? What's the most difficult English accent?
- 2:26:07Speaker 4: Probably the Jordi accent. So that's up north kind of Sunderland, Newcastle,
- 2:26:13Speaker 4: why yai man? Oh yeah, yeah, so yeah, that's that's
- 2:26:17Speaker 4: a that's a tough one. But you know, there are
- 2:26:20Speaker 4: so many accents. I mean, where I'm from in Stoke,
- 2:26:24Speaker 4: we're close to Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, all of those places.
- 2:26:29Speaker 4: We all have a different accent. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:26:32Speaker 4: thirty miles away, right.
- 2:26:33Speaker 3: And the funny thing is we only know through like
- 2:26:35Speaker 3: our the rock stars that come over and you hear
- 2:26:37Speaker 3: them talk. So we know what Liverpool sounds like because
- 2:26:39Speaker 3: of the Beatles, you know, and we also know what
- 2:26:42Speaker 3: Sheffield sounds like because of Ozzie and like those guys.
- 2:26:45Speaker 3: So that's like the only thing I have to compare
- 2:26:47Speaker 3: it to because there's some very proper English accents I
- 2:26:51Speaker 3: believe or not to do from Judas Priest. Rob Halford
- 2:26:54Speaker 3: is English, so you get that very proper you know,
- 2:26:56Speaker 3: he's kind it's kind of like that a little bit.
- 2:26:58Speaker 3: And I tell you another one, David covered Deal, the
- 2:27:00Speaker 3: guy who was the least sing her white snick huh.
- 2:27:02Speaker 3: Got to meet him one time. That dude sounds like
- 2:27:03Speaker 3: a real he's regal. I mean, he's just got this beautiful,
- 2:27:07Speaker 3: just gorgeous accent.
- 2:27:09Speaker 1: You know, Hey, have you ever like followed a celebrity
- 2:27:13Speaker 1: or you know, or anyone in general where they had
- 2:27:16Speaker 1: an accent and you thought that there was their real
- 2:27:18Speaker 1: voice and then you find out they're not British and
- 2:27:21Speaker 1: they they could be American or anyone, you know o
- 2:27:24Speaker 1: their nationality.
- 2:27:25Speaker 4: No, I'm trying to think because Graham Norton did a
- 2:27:28Speaker 4: whole kind of sequence on this of you know, where
- 2:27:32Speaker 4: people came on and celebrities and could do a whole
- 2:27:36Speaker 4: bunch of accents and you're just like wow, And that's
- 2:27:39Speaker 4: why you're an actor, I guess, because that's it. That
- 2:27:41Speaker 4: that shows you, you know, someone who knows their craft.
- 2:27:44Speaker 3: Americans get kind of mad about it because when you
- 2:27:47Speaker 3: fool us, we feel like you fool.
- 2:27:48Speaker 1: This is the one exactly.
- 2:27:52Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 2:27:52Speaker 1: I was thinking that when I first heard him speak,
- 2:27:55Speaker 1: and I was like, well, well wait what well?
- 2:27:58Speaker 4: And he used to be on a comedy show way
- 2:28:01Speaker 4: back in the day called Fryan Laurie with Stephen Fry. Right,
- 2:28:05Speaker 4: I'll tell you, z accent absolutely slays me. Is the
- 2:28:09Speaker 4: girl what's her name? Out of my cousin Vinny when
- 2:28:15Speaker 4: she does that courtroom scene? Yes, talking about the car?
- 2:28:20Speaker 4: It is absolute perfection?
- 2:28:22Speaker 1: Yeah, right, all right, let's get out of your jack.
- 2:28:24Speaker 1: Who do we have to think today?
- 2:28:25Speaker 14: Oh?
- 2:28:26Speaker 1: We want to thank the lovely Kay Rowlins, founder of
- 2:28:28Speaker 1: Orlando City Orlando Pride. Thank you so much, not only
- 2:28:31Speaker 1: for what you do for our city, but what you

- 2:29:04Speaker 1: else did you do a question of the day to day? Yeah,
- 2:29:07Speaker 1: it's who do you like better? Yeah?
- 2:29:09Speaker 7: Me?
- 2:29:09Speaker 1: You are o Kay Kay Rowlins wins the vote. Vote,
- 2:29:14Speaker 1: let's go. What are you doing? Get out of here?
