- 0:49Speaker 1: to be on KFA N again to bring you some
- 0:52Speaker 1: comics and entertainers who are fans of the other team
- 0:55Speaker 1: to talk about the upcoming Vikings matchup. We got some
- 0:59Speaker 1: great guests on the first episode. In the second half
- 1:01Speaker 1: of the show, we're gonna connect with two New York
- 1:04Speaker 1: comedians and huge fans of the New York Giants, Christa
- 1:07Speaker 1: Stefano and Mike Cannon from the Chrissy Chaos podcast. But
- 1:11Speaker 1: first Light is a jentlebed butt. First, let's kick things
- 1:16Speaker 1: off with King Minnesota himself. Ladies and gentlemen, you know
- 1:21Speaker 1: him from his Netflix special Empty Nester. You probably know
- 1:25Speaker 1: him from a whole bunch of other stuff. I just
- 1:28Speaker 1: call him my best pal, Ladies and gentlemen. The Chad Daniels.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Hey, baby, Hi everybody. A lot of people were hoping
- 1:37Speaker 2: that Nick Schwartzen was on when you said King of Minnesota.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You know what's interesting. You and I do a podcast
- 1:42Speaker 2: every week, and I've never heard you use that voice before.
- 1:45Speaker 3: You really like it.
- 1:46Speaker 2: You're real radio e today where you're like, everybody, welcome.
- 1:51Speaker 1: To the show.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I do love.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Do you think it landed?
- 1:54Speaker 2: I think it landed because there's an energy in this state.
- 1:58Speaker 2: There's an energy that somehow entered the state when there
- 2:04Speaker 2: was someone left. We're not going to talk about it.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I just want you to know that a trade went
- 2:11Speaker 2: down this offseason. In five minutes afterwards, both my kids
- 2:16Speaker 2: texted me the words, hey, we can watch football together again.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Would not to be fair. It wasn't even a trade.
- 2:24Speaker 1: It was a release, sure rease. It wasn't even a release.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It was a go sign somewhere else. And Chad came
- 2:30Speaker 1: back into the fold in a spend time in the
- 2:33Speaker 1: same room as him during a football like It's it's.
- 2:37Speaker 2: All it's brought my family back together.
- 2:40Speaker 1: It's brought your family back together. Let me tell you something.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Of the many things you know about me, maybe near
- 2:44Speaker 1: the top of the list is I'm a big no
- 2:47Speaker 1: expectations guy.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I like to exist in a relationship. That's how I
- 2:52Speaker 1: like to exist. Like, I think, the less expectations that
- 2:55Speaker 1: there are placed upon me, the better I look to
- 2:58Speaker 1: the people who count on me because they're like, oh
- 3:00Speaker 1: my gosh, he's crushing it. It's great for me. Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I'd like to get you a football jersey that says
- 3:07Speaker 2: low bar on the back or wishy washy. I haven't
- 3:10Speaker 2: decided which one, because watching is unacceptable.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Let's start with low bar and let's walk towards wishy
- 3:16Speaker 1: washy because I think with said change, it's a great
- 3:21Speaker 1: year to be a Vikings fan. There are some people
- 3:23Speaker 1: that are down on what we can do and how
- 3:26Speaker 1: far we can go. But let me tell you something.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I like being counted out. I like that we're not
- 3:31Speaker 1: sitting there talking about how far we have to get
- 3:34Speaker 1: for this season to be a success. I like that
- 3:37Speaker 1: everyone's over. If something great happens. Man, we didn't. We
- 3:41Speaker 1: weren't expecting that set the bar low and let's leap
- 3:44Speaker 1: over it.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it was doctor Seuss that said, set
- 3:48Speaker 2: the expectations low. See how far you can go. We
- 3:52Speaker 2: have some new arms, let's see how far they can throw.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I think it was doctor Seuss that said that. And
- 3:57Speaker 2: I bet you it's eight yards when it fourth and seven. Now,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I would like to talk about how unacceptable it is
- 4:05Speaker 2: to watch a football game with you. Come on, what
- 4:07Speaker 2: do you do, Sybil? Your mood changes on such a
- 4:12Speaker 2: level where it's like, I can't believe they're doing this too,
- 4:17Speaker 2: this is the greatest team we've ever seen, and then
- 4:20Speaker 2: right back down to I can't believe we're doing this.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I like to hold I like to maintain my levels.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Which are they should do that they're professionals versus what's
- 4:32Speaker 2: happening right now. They're professionals. I don't hit a big
- 4:36Speaker 2: I don't have a lot of ebbs and flows. I'm
- 4:38Speaker 2: pretty much on a straight line.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And I think that's why we're a great team. So
- 4:41Speaker 1: that's why I think it's good for us to watch
- 4:43Speaker 1: football together, because if you're the extra person watching football
- 4:46Speaker 1: with us, you're getting the whole gambit of experiences. You're
- 4:49Speaker 1: getting you're getting a guy who doesn't like to and
- 4:51Speaker 1: I'm not trying to psychologically analyze you right now, but
- 4:55Speaker 1: maybe that has something to do with you don't like
- 4:56Speaker 1: to be let down, so you don't like to let
- 4:58Speaker 1: yourself get built up. So stay in the middle. And
- 5:01Speaker 1: over here, I'm a big emotion guy who likes to
- 5:03Speaker 1: feel my feelings and I want to run to the
- 5:05Speaker 1: top of the hill and then I want to be
- 5:06Speaker 1: all the way down at the bottom of the valley.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And so I think it works. And I think as
- 5:11Speaker 1: Viking fans, I have to I have to assume you
- 5:16Speaker 1: are the more wealth thought out, impressive one and I'm
- 5:21Speaker 1: more of the norm. I think there are more SI
- 5:23Speaker 1: Viking fans in the state of Minnesota than.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Sigh, because there are a lot of SI Viking fans.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I listen. I've been to Las Vegas when the Vikes
- 5:34Speaker 2: are in the playoffs and the negative energy. I just
- 5:37Speaker 2: want to walk around the room, just ambidexterously slapping people
- 5:42Speaker 2: in the face, both fans. I don't care. I don't
- 5:45Speaker 2: have a dominant hand when it comes to slapping. So
- 5:47Speaker 2: I'm jazzed up for this season. I think it's going
- 5:50Speaker 2: to be great. Everybody has us in the basement because
- 5:53Speaker 2: of the the Chicago Draft and this Jordan love and
- 5:58Speaker 2: all this, and that, you know, Detroit made it so
- 6:01Speaker 2: far last year. Guess what, I don't see it. I
- 6:03Speaker 2: don't see us in the base.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Agree.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm not trying. I don't see it either. I agree.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I think I think this is a classic, and let's
- 6:11Speaker 1: you know, let's let's tie it to something that the
- 6:13Speaker 1: people can understand. I think this is your classic nineteen
- 6:16Speaker 1: ninety one Minnesota twins hanging out in the basement. Next
- 6:20Speaker 1: thing you know, they're sitting on the balcony. That's what
- 6:23Speaker 1: I think is possible here. Now Am I telling myself
- 6:25Speaker 1: that in this moment, and you're gonna get some text
- 6:27Speaker 1: from me on Sunday that contradict that. Yeah, but I
- 6:30Speaker 1: think if you can't handle me at my best, you
- 6:33Speaker 1: don't deserve me at my worst. But can I I'm.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Gonna tell you something right now, I block you on Sundays.
- 6:38Speaker 2: You know that also worse. The first feels incredible. I'm
- 6:44Speaker 2: jazzed up. I think what's gonna happen is you know
- 6:46Speaker 2: what a boxer is right handed? And then in the gym,
- 6:52Speaker 2: no cameras allowed they train to be a southpaw, and
- 6:56Speaker 2: then they come out in the first round and all
- 6:58Speaker 2: the tapes the other boxer watched mean absolutely nothing because
- 7:02Speaker 2: they trained to fight a right handed guy and now
- 7:05Speaker 2: they're fighting a left handed guy. I'm jazzed up. I'm
- 7:08Speaker 2: so excited about this season. I don't care if we're over.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I am excited to see where this particular team, with
- 7:15Speaker 2: its new leadership, can go well and.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Can I can I double down on that because for me,
- 7:21Speaker 1: it's the first time I've felt hope in a long time,
- 7:25Speaker 1: even knowing that the ceiling might be lower this particular year,
- 7:29Speaker 1: it felt like, since you know, essentially the Minnesota miracle,
- 7:33Speaker 1: every single year after that, you're like, well, this is
- 7:35Speaker 1: what we are, and it kind of feels like what
- 7:38Speaker 1: we're gonna be. What we are is what we're gonna be.
- 7:41Speaker 1: But there's this universe where this year, even after signing Darisaw,
- 7:46Speaker 1: after signing Jefferson, after getting Grenard and free agency, they
- 7:49Speaker 1: still have seventy five million ish dollars this offseason.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So let me let me let me paint you a
- 8:00Speaker 1: pretty little scenario that I don't think is unrealistic. It's
- 8:05Speaker 1: three things three things can happen. The first one is
- 8:10Speaker 1: Jordan Addison, Yeah, takes a giant jump up. Now, you
- 8:13Speaker 1: and I were at that San Francisco forty nine Ers
- 8:16Speaker 1: game last year. We were in the building, and I
- 8:18Speaker 1: think we both in betwixt some lunatic Niners fans trying
- 8:23Speaker 1: to ruin your day. But I think we both left
- 8:27Speaker 1: that game going, Oh, given the right opportunity, Jordan Addison
- 8:33Speaker 1: might be a top twenty wide receiver in the whole league.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I had him in fantasy last year and it was unbelievable.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I don't even remember. At the end of the first half,
- 8:43Speaker 2: an interception was thrown and Jordan Addison went and he
- 8:46Speaker 2: took the ball from the d back and scored a touchdown.
- 8:50Speaker 2: That's unbelievable, and that's the kind of stuff that we're
- 8:53Speaker 2: going to be looking for from him.
- 8:55Speaker 1: So imagine he takes that jump up this year. He's
- 8:58Speaker 1: still on a couple of years of his rookie deal, right,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and then you've got a guy like Ivan Pace Junior,
- 9:03Speaker 1: who also showed up last year. Let's say he takes
- 9:05Speaker 1: a jump up in this defense. He's also on an
- 9:07Speaker 1: undrafted rookie deal, good low money contracts, they're overperforming. And
- 9:11Speaker 1: then this guy that fell to us, Dallas Turner, that
- 9:15Speaker 1: some people are like, oh, he's kind of Micah Parsons ish, dude,
- 9:18Speaker 1: if he is a fraction of Micah Parsons early, all
- 9:22Speaker 1: of a sudden, you have these three players who leap up,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and you walk into next season with key pieces all
- 9:29Speaker 1: over the roster, a cheap quarterback room, a rookie that's
- 9:32Speaker 1: about to play, and seventy five million dollars. Dude, we
- 9:35Speaker 1: might stumble into a super Bowl window. I said, I'm
- 9:38Speaker 1: with you, oh for I don't care. It's about to me.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It's about the next few years. And this is the
- 9:43Speaker 1: first year that I've felt like, oh my gosh, there's
- 9:46Speaker 1: a path. Yeah.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I've never been a sit and be patient for a rebuild,
- 9:52Speaker 2: but I'm just excited to see to take the little
- 9:56Speaker 2: glimpses of hope. And you know what, I'm not even
- 9:58Speaker 2: writing them off this year. I refuse to do that
- 10:01Speaker 2: because I'm I'm and I.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Don't think we should. I'm just painting both sides of it.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I think we can be enthused for this year but
- 10:08Speaker 1: also have those parallel goals of win football games. But
- 10:13Speaker 1: if We're in week eight and you're like, Hey, it
- 10:14Speaker 1: turns out Dallas Turner is a stud out the Gate.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's an extra added piece of information that I am
- 10:21Speaker 1: going to be excited about.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Well, I'm excited about the whole thing.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I want to talk about New York because I think
- 10:27Speaker 1: you and I as comedians, we have a relationship with
- 10:32Speaker 1: that city, and then as Minnesota sports fans, I don't
- 10:37Speaker 1: have the anger that Twins fans do. I know we
- 10:41Speaker 1: lost to the Yankees over and over, but I always
- 10:44Speaker 1: got and over and over and over. But I always
- 10:48Speaker 1: understood why. I never viewed them as the evil Empire.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I always thought like what if, what if we did
- 10:53Speaker 1: more better? Like that was my theory on that whole situation.
- 10:58Speaker 1: So like I was pumped to an Alex Rodriguez bought
- 11:01Speaker 1: the Timberolves because he's like a famous guy that can
- 11:03Speaker 1: be held accountable. So that's a good thing for the
- 11:07Speaker 1: But there's a lot of people in the state that
- 11:08Speaker 1: are really anti New York, and I can get behind that.
- 11:12Speaker 1: But I to me, most of my feelings about the
- 11:17Speaker 1: city are based on what it's like to do stand
- 11:19Speaker 1: up comedy there.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Sure, and mine my feelings about the city at least
- 11:24Speaker 2: in sports are going to a Twins game Game three.
- 11:30Speaker 2: We had two games at home target Field, and then
- 11:34Speaker 2: game three was there, and I bought tickets in the
- 11:36Speaker 2: bleachers like a complete nonsensical fool, and immediately had my
- 11:43Speaker 2: Twins hat on and was getting mustard packets opened and
- 11:47Speaker 2: thrown at me. So I smelled like mustard and had
- 11:50Speaker 2: orange stains all over a black jacket and then an hat,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and then also I had beer port all over me,
- 11:57Speaker 2: to the point where the security I came over and
- 12:01Speaker 2: told my friend and I we should probably head out
- 12:03Speaker 2: around the seventh inning because the subway is going to
- 12:06Speaker 2: be filled with these guys going back. And it was
- 12:09Speaker 2: a bad idea for us. So and they were winning
- 12:13Speaker 2: the the Yankees were when the Yankees were winning, the
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yankees were winning, yeah, make sure, because they swept. They
- 12:18Speaker 2: swept the series, beat us too at home, and then
- 12:20Speaker 2: the third one there.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And for all the negative you know, energy you and
- 12:25Speaker 1: I give to the state of Wisconsin, and some of
- 12:27Speaker 1: it's deserved. For example that you know they don't emphasize
- 12:31Speaker 1: reading in the schools and their cars are made out
- 12:34Speaker 1: of cheese, stuff like that. You know they haven't they
- 12:37Speaker 1: haven't allowed. I don't need to get into all this stuff.
- 12:40Speaker 1: The point is, I mean, here's the deal. Wisconsin and
- 12:42Speaker 1: Minnesota are the same state. If football is never invented,
- 12:46Speaker 1: it's just one giant state. Yeah, I guess they're East Minnesota.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I guess. My point is, as much as we complained
- 12:54Speaker 1: about Packer fans, you can go, like I've told this
- 12:58Speaker 1: story on the show before, we were in Lambeau for
- 13:01Speaker 1: the Randy Moss Moon game, going nuts while they were
- 13:05Speaker 1: getting throttled in the playoffs, and it wasn't like you
- 13:10Speaker 1: got to a point where you're like, we should probably
- 13:11Speaker 1: chill out just a little bit, you know. But it
- 13:14Speaker 1: wasn't this uh oh, somebody's gonna beat my skull in
- 13:18Speaker 1: on the subway vibe, right, And you you do have
- 13:21Speaker 1: to give them credit for that, because I do find
- 13:23Speaker 1: that to be true with with the New York Giants fans,
- 13:27Speaker 1: with the Philadelphia Eagles fans. You just that's the sort
- 13:31Speaker 1: of place where you're like, hey, Chad, Chad wore a
- 13:34Speaker 1: jersey to a Yankees game, and so obviously somebody, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 1: somebody beat him with a coffee mug outside the stadium.
- 13:41Speaker 1: So he's not coming home.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, any place that has a jail in their own
- 13:45Speaker 2: stadium for their fans. I don't need to go watch
- 13:48Speaker 2: an away game there, can I.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Ask you this whole greatest city on the planet thing.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And I'm not here to criticize New York because I
- 13:59Speaker 1: like parts of New York. But I have never in
- 14:02Speaker 1: the times I've been there, I have never understood that.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Is that something you have to say when you live
- 14:09Speaker 1: there because you like you know, if you like, if
- 14:12Speaker 1: you dig, like if your job is you work at
- 14:14Speaker 1: the zoo, scoopid elephant. Yeah, you know, somewhere in the
- 14:18Speaker 1: back of your brain you have to be like, well,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I do good, hard work with my hands. You know.
- 14:23Speaker 1: There has to be something you tell yourself. Yep, in
- 14:26Speaker 1: between piles of elephant? Is that the thing in New
- 14:30Speaker 1: York they do? They have to believe that so they
- 14:32Speaker 1: don't go I'm in a concrete jungle. It's so loud,
- 14:36Speaker 1: the doors are all too short, Yes, of course, I
- 14:39Speaker 1: just I don't understand it. I can't get anyone from
- 14:41Speaker 1: there to back to just be honest, because you could
- 14:44Speaker 1: criticize Minnesota in some ways like the cold, and then
- 14:46Speaker 1: I will break down and be honest about it.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the amount of rent checks that have
- 14:52Speaker 2: to be rewritten because the ink gets smudged because people
- 14:56Speaker 2: are crying is unbelievable. In New York. That's when you
- 15:00Speaker 2: you have to tell yourself as you're writing a forty
- 15:03Speaker 2: five hundred dollars check for to have a couch in
- 15:07Speaker 2: your kitchen as your bed, and you're just like, this
- 15:09Speaker 2: is this is the greatest city in the world. Of course,
- 15:13Speaker 2: that's why I'm doing it. I mean, it's the only reason.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I don't know how to feel about the Giants as
- 15:20Speaker 1: a fan base. You know me, I don't. I dislike
- 15:22Speaker 1: a lot of fan bases or like, excuse me, teams,
- 15:24Speaker 1: not even the fan base. I know how I feel
- 15:26Speaker 1: about the fan base the team. I dislike a lot
- 15:29Speaker 1: of teams. The Giants have never really registered for me,
- 15:32Speaker 1: even though there is a pretty long and unique history. Right,
- 15:36Speaker 1: You've got forty one donut yep, Randy Moss squirting the refs,
- 15:42Speaker 1: which is still pretty wild when you think about it.
- 15:46Speaker 2: He rules so hard, so he's he broke great cash
- 15:50Speaker 2: on me, dude.
- 15:51Speaker 1: The fact that it's almost surprising that we've been through
- 15:54Speaker 1: this much sports history and he's the only there's so
- 15:58Speaker 1: many water bottles. He's the only guy who's ever been
- 16:01Speaker 1: like what on a ref because he was mad? That's
- 16:04Speaker 1: wild to me. Decades of sports, and we have no
- 16:07Speaker 1: other tape of that. Uh so we've got that, We've got.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Well, we do have that punk ass from Denver that
- 16:12Speaker 2: threw a whole bunch of stuff on the court because
- 16:15Speaker 2: he was thrown a fit against the Tea Wolves in
- 16:17Speaker 2: the playoffs.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that we do have. We do have the NBA
- 16:21Speaker 1: conspiracy of allowing Jamal Murray to continue to play despite
- 16:25Speaker 1: his antics.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Wild.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Hi, I'm a four year old. I like playing with
- 16:30Speaker 2: a ball now.
- 16:31Speaker 1: To be very clear, Jamal Murray, four year old. Randy Moss,
- 16:35Speaker 1: cool guy, he absolutely, cool guy. Very different situations.
- 16:39Speaker 2: You're you're throwing stuff out onto a court that could
- 16:42Speaker 2: cause an injury versus playfully squirting a referee and mooning wisconsinites.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Who who cares?
- 16:53Speaker 4: Uh?
- 16:54Speaker 1: But then you have our favorite, our mutual one of
- 16:58Speaker 1: our mutual favorite Vikings of all time, Randall Cunningham King
- 17:03Speaker 1: deep Ball, the man himself. Everybody thinks about ninety eight,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but this is like, this is an interestingly forgotten part
- 17:10Speaker 1: of Vikings history. They're playing the Giants in ninety seven
- 17:15Speaker 1: in the playoffs. Cunningham comes in late as a replacement,
- 17:20Speaker 1: drives him down the field sick ass touchdown, I believe
- 17:22Speaker 1: to Chris Carter, they get an on side kick, march
- 17:25Speaker 1: down the field with no time left, win the game.
- 17:27Speaker 1: That's a big moment for sized childhood at that point
- 17:30Speaker 1: pre ninety eight. That was the moment, and that was
- 17:34Speaker 1: I know you followed Cunningham from the Eagles to the Vikings, right.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I was tricked into being an Eagles fan because of
- 17:41Speaker 2: the musical duo Crisscross. They wore all Eagle stuff in
- 17:46Speaker 2: their video, and I thought, well, I like rap music,
- 17:49Speaker 2: I'm going to be an Eagles fan. And then so
- 17:51Speaker 2: I followed him over and I got to see when
- 17:53Speaker 2: he came in initially for the first time. And that
- 17:57Speaker 2: was the most exciting thing because I was at the
- 17:59Speaker 2: Vikings game when it happened.
- 18:02Speaker 1: So, yeah, in ninety eight, you were there in ninety
- 18:04Speaker 1: eight when he came in for the first time. Here's
- 18:06Speaker 1: another fun one. When you go down the history list,
- 18:10Speaker 1: this is and it's in again this book of World records.
- 18:12Speaker 1: So the Vikings became the first in two thousand and
- 18:15Speaker 1: five November thirteen, two thousand and five, they became the
- 18:17Speaker 1: first team to return a punt, a kick, and an
- 18:21Speaker 1: interception for a touchdown all in one game to beat
- 18:25Speaker 1: the New York Giants. I remember that game as a kid.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I believe that was.
- 18:30Speaker 2: The herschel Walker.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It might it might not have been a It might
- 18:34Speaker 1: have been a Marcus Cheryl's touchdown. I can't remember exactly
- 18:38Speaker 1: who returned that, who returned the punt, but big, big
- 18:42Speaker 1: fan of that. So I think my point is I
- 18:46Speaker 1: don't even though you would think the forty one donut
- 18:48Speaker 1: would have a massive effect on how I view this team.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I'm not overly emotionally connected to them in a negative
- 18:57Speaker 1: way like I am a lot of other fan bases.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I just feel like this is the game to get.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It's a tough matchup, but this is the game to get.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Do you remember before I have a story about this,
- 19:09Speaker 2: but herschel Walker when he had a run from scrimmage,
- 19:14Speaker 2: a touchdown reception of over ninety yards, a run from
- 19:17Speaker 2: scrimmage touchdown over ninety yards, and a kickoff return over
- 19:20Speaker 2: ninety yards.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I didn't know that was a thing at all. That's
- 19:23Speaker 1: the wildest thing. It's the real thing.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Now, I'd like to tell you about when I watched
- 19:28Speaker 2: the last game. I think that I watched the Vikings
- 19:31Speaker 2: and the Giants play was I was in Sacramento, California,
- 19:35Speaker 2: and it was a playoff game. Vikings worth three seed
- 19:38Speaker 2: and it's a couple of years ago. Yep, Giants were
- 19:41Speaker 2: six seed, and you know the three and the six.
- 19:45Speaker 2: So you go, well, this the good odds for us,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and it wasn't going great. And then there's a knock
- 19:49Speaker 2: at my door and I think, like I ordered food
- 19:52Speaker 2: and forgot or something. So I go to the door
- 19:54Speaker 2: and it's two armed security guards with their hands on
- 19:56Speaker 2: their guns. And I didn't know what was going on.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I was like, hey, it's happening. I was a little
- 20:01Speaker 2: nervous because I was holding the door and my hand
- 20:04Speaker 2: was behind the door, and they kept looking at it.
- 20:06Speaker 2: And this felt very wild Westy because their hands were
- 20:09Speaker 2: kind of like doing the little quiver over by their gun.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they had the Clint Eastwood ready to go thing
- 20:14Speaker 1: going on.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Absolutely, the little flippy thing was already flipped. And so
- 20:18Speaker 2: I just go, hey, what's going on? And they said,
- 20:21Speaker 2: we have a domestic disturbance. Complain about this room, and
- 20:23Speaker 2: I said, well, there's no way about this room. There's
- 20:25Speaker 2: no chance because I've been here all by myself. You
- 20:28Speaker 2: don't believe me, Why don't you come in here and
- 20:29Speaker 2: try to bend this sock? And nobody laughed. I thought
- 20:32Speaker 2: it was funny. There was no sock spoiler alert, but
- 20:35Speaker 2: I thought it was funny to say to them. Anyways,
- 20:38Speaker 2: they have to come in my room to make sure
- 20:39Speaker 2: no one's in there, and I still don't know what's
- 20:42Speaker 2: going on, and so they're like, hey, do this, do this,
- 20:45Speaker 2: do this, and they don't find anybody, and they go, hey,
- 20:49Speaker 2: we have a witness in the in the hallway that
- 20:52Speaker 2: heard this go down. I'm like, well, we better talk
- 20:54Speaker 2: to him. So I get out there, and there's this
- 20:56Speaker 2: lady and she goes I was walking by this room
- 20:59Speaker 2: and I heard a man yell get on the ground.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And I sat there for a second and I was like,
- 21:08Speaker 2: that is not something I would say. And then I thought, oh,
- 21:11Speaker 2: I bet you heard a man yell get him on
- 21:14Speaker 2: the ground. You big, because I have the under and
- 21:18Speaker 2: they are running all over us. And so I was
- 21:20Speaker 2: screaming at my TV. Oh did we all laugh at that?
- 21:24Speaker 2: And then I said, can I go back in the
- 21:26Speaker 2: room and they said, yep, absolutely, sorry for bothering you,
- 21:29Speaker 2: and I said, no problem. And then I shut the
- 21:31Speaker 2: door and I yelled stay under the bed. And I've
- 21:36Speaker 2: never heard people knock louder. It's like all three of
- 21:40Speaker 2: them picked a different spot on the door and started pounding.
- 21:43Speaker 2: It was crazy. But that is my recollection of New
- 21:50Speaker 2: York Giants Minnesota Vikings playoff football.
- 21:53Speaker 1: You're the King and I love you a lot. Thank
- 21:55Speaker 1: you for doing this first episode, and we will see
- 21:59Speaker 1: you on the other things that we do.
- 22:01Speaker 4: School.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Maybe that was the great Chad Daniels joining us here
- 22:07Speaker 1: on the first episode of the Tailgate. Remember you can
- 22:10Speaker 1: check out his tour dates at chaddaniels dot com or
- 22:14Speaker 1: check out his amazing Netflix special Empty Nester. Streaming Now
- 22:19Speaker 1: broke it down a little bit from the Viking side.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Talked about, you know, the expectations, what we're looking for,
- 22:24Speaker 1: which I do think despite having those expectations, the first
- 22:29Speaker 1: game of the year is a big one because when
- 22:31Speaker 1: you look at our when you look at our our
- 22:34Speaker 1: schedule the first seven after New York, given what people
- 22:38Speaker 1: did last year, they are not necessarily easy. So we
- 22:43Speaker 1: focused on the season with old Dad Chaniels. Now let's
- 22:46Speaker 1: get into focusing on what's going on with New York.
- 22:50Speaker 1: We're gonna jump over in the next part of the show,
- 22:52Speaker 1: and like I said, we're gonna talk to Chris DiStefano
- 22:55Speaker 1: and Mike Cannon. To lifelong die hard Giants fans, we
- 23:00Speaker 1: are also fantastic comedians. So we will be right back
- 23:04Speaker 1: here on the Vikings Tailgate, brought to you by Ticketmaster,
- 23:09Speaker 1: the official ticket marketplace of the Minnesota Vikings. Joining us
- 23:14Speaker 1: to talk all things Giants, ladies and gentlemen, Chris DiStefano
- 23:19Speaker 1: and Mike Cannon. Boys, I need your perspective on something
- 23:23Speaker 1: because your team delivered my team one of the most
- 23:28Speaker 1: historic ass kickings in our franchise history, NFC Championship game.
- 23:33Speaker 1: We call it forty one donut. There's a name for
- 23:36Speaker 1: it in town here. That's like, we have this horrible
- 23:39Speaker 1: celebration of awful moments. I need to know from your perspective.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Does that game ring as a moment that you ever
- 23:46Speaker 1: think about? Is this one of those things where we
- 23:48Speaker 1: think about you and you don't think about us, Because
- 23:51Speaker 1: I mean, moss squirting the water bottle that was a
- 23:53Speaker 1: wild moment for me as a child.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I remember the first half.
- 23:58Speaker 5: Then I was pretty much out drunk for the rest
- 24:01Speaker 5: of it, so I remember, so I kind of saw
- 24:04Speaker 5: the forty one nothing the next morning in the middle
- 24:07Speaker 5: of a hangover.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I think I'm similar.
- 24:11Speaker 6: I remember trying to use that victory, like I remember
- 24:14Speaker 6: Kerry Collins and all of a sudden he showed up
- 24:16Speaker 6: and being very exciting. But I was fifteen, and I
- 24:20Speaker 6: think I tried to use the Giant's victory to like
- 24:23Speaker 6: pick up a girl or something like that, and she
- 24:25Speaker 6: just couldn't have shown less interest. So I just kind
- 24:27Speaker 6: of immediately was like, all right, I forgot about that
- 24:29Speaker 6: game pretty quickly.
- 24:30Speaker 1: That's I forgot. It was Carrie Collins. I mean Carry Colin.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Anybody who's in the NFL, that's great, but it's not
- 24:36Speaker 1: like it was to Eli or even Kurt Warner when
- 24:38Speaker 1: he was there for a cup of coffee. It was
- 24:41Speaker 1: to Carry Collins. Yeah, that feels nice.
- 24:44Speaker 4: That hurts the worst. It's like, yeah, you lost forty
- 24:46Speaker 4: one nothing to a man named Carry. Yeah.
- 24:51Speaker 6: He also wasn't Wasn't there some report afterwards where you
- 24:54Speaker 6: guys tried to make something of signs stealing or like something.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Hey, there was no report. There's a lot of people
- 25:00Speaker 1: well that feel like there was a lot of evidence
- 25:02Speaker 1: that we could not ever prove. Yeah, that's the sort
- 25:05Speaker 1: of thing that you could, uh that goes at the
- 25:07Speaker 1: top of the conspiracy theory sports list. Here's a question
- 25:12Speaker 1: for you. How many years has it been since somebody
- 25:14Speaker 1: has repeated in the NFT East. Hasn't it been like
- 25:16Speaker 1: twenty years or something?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Gotta have been.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I can't imagine what it's like to have Dallas, Philly,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and Washington on every side. Do you enjoy that insanity?
- 25:26Speaker 1: Do you like that it's jokers from every side?
- 25:29Speaker 3: I don't mind that.
- 25:30Speaker 6: I mean the thing about New York, though, is it's
- 25:32Speaker 6: such a it's a destination so people so that we
- 25:35Speaker 6: have Dallas fans living amongst us, we have Philly fans
- 25:39Speaker 6: living amongst us. We have a bunch of comedian friends
- 25:41Speaker 6: that are from Philadelphia that are in New York and
- 25:43Speaker 6: they are loud about their support. So it's, you know,
- 25:46Speaker 6: it's it just gets it. It gets confrontational pretty quick.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Yeah, That's that's the tricky thing with the Packers. They live.
- 25:54Speaker 1: No one's like I'm gonna build my business in Appleton, Wisconsin.
- 25:58Speaker 1: They come to Minneapolis.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I think as New Yorkers, you know, we're just
- 26:03Speaker 5: you know, kind of know that where you know the
- 26:06Speaker 5: best city. And even if we're not winning the NFC East,
- 26:09Speaker 5: it's like, what do you want to live in Dallas?
- 26:12Speaker 5: Who cares win all the champions? It doesn't matter. I
- 26:15Speaker 5: want to go there. They could triple the tax right
- 26:17Speaker 5: in New York.
- 26:18Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm not leaving.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Well, here's the problem with Dallas is you start to
- 26:24Speaker 1: I think as you get older. You know, you love
- 26:25Speaker 1: sports when you're a little kid in a certain way,
- 26:27Speaker 1: and you love them, I think usually different when you're
- 26:30Speaker 1: an adult. And then you see the guys who don't
- 26:32Speaker 1: You're like, I didn't know you could throw a stadium
- 26:34Speaker 1: chair onto the field right there? Are there are people
- 26:37Speaker 1: you tend to love them differently. But I think as
- 26:40Speaker 1: you get older you kind of recognize that the space
- 26:47Speaker 1: that it takes to be a normal person while also
- 26:49Speaker 1: loving your team. But one of my I don't know
- 26:51Speaker 1: if you guys know, Blake Wexler. He's a very funny comic.
- 26:55Speaker 1: He's out of Philadelphia, and I would argue the sweetest
- 26:59Speaker 1: human person I've ever met. Until he walks into a
- 27:03Speaker 1: sporting event, you can't even imagine. The Philly thing is
- 27:07Speaker 1: a unique beast. And I agree with you. I do
- 27:09Speaker 1: think it needs to be celebrated. I don't want to
- 27:11Speaker 1: be a part of it. Yeah, I don't want to
- 27:13Speaker 1: be I don't even want to be against it. But
- 27:15Speaker 1: I like from afar. It's like watching Jerry Springer. It's
- 27:18Speaker 1: on the TV. It's fun to see from a distance.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. And it's sad too, because you know, I
- 27:24Speaker 4: love this country.
- 27:24Speaker 5: It's sad that our national animal is the ego and
- 27:29Speaker 5: then but also the Philadelphia they have that animal. But
- 27:32Speaker 5: I will say Philly bothers me, but not as much
- 27:35Speaker 5: as Dallas.
- 27:36Speaker 6: Yeah, Philly, you almost root for them because they're they're
- 27:39Speaker 6: blue collar, they're you know, they're trying to come up.
- 27:42Speaker 6: Dallas has this arrogance and entitlement to their success that
- 27:45Speaker 6: really rubs me the wrong way.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Yes, that's what it.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Is, Mike, Yeah, it's it's and it comes with so
- 27:52Speaker 1: we we Historically the hail Mary, if you will, The
- 27:56Speaker 1: term was coined Drew Pearson cheated and pushed off, and
- 27:59Speaker 1: it was cheating. He cheated, he pushed off they got
- 28:03Speaker 1: into like so we have. There is a unique level
- 28:05Speaker 1: of disdain for the cowboys in our area too, and
- 28:08Speaker 1: that is what it is. I get that you won
- 28:10Speaker 1: the Super Bowls, it's a long time. It's really the
- 28:12Speaker 1: guy who's like, do you remember when I ran for
- 28:15Speaker 1: sixteen hundred yards in high school?
- 28:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 28:17Speaker 1: But like, dude, you're forty nine. Man, your kids can't read.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Why don't we focus on that? Ye, here's a question
- 28:26Speaker 1: for you, because you talked about this on a podcast
- 28:29Speaker 1: and then everybody was got really upset Chris. But it's
- 28:33Speaker 1: something that I have said forever. Adults in Jerseys, let
- 28:37Speaker 1: me give you my view on it, and let me
- 28:39Speaker 1: see if we're walking the same path here. I think
- 28:42Speaker 1: it's like, you know, when you meet somebody with a
- 28:44Speaker 1: weird hobby and you're like, that's great. You're into a
- 28:49Speaker 1: weird thing and you love it so much. But then
- 28:52Speaker 1: the moment that person is an a hole, you're like, God,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna burn you down, I'm gonna destroy everything. That's
- 28:58Speaker 1: how I feel about adults in Jerseys. If you see
- 29:00Speaker 1: him at a game with their kids high five and like,
- 29:02Speaker 1: isn't this great?
- 29:03Speaker 5: Jason?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Like good for you? The moment they do something wrong,
- 29:07Speaker 1: you're like, I'm gonna torture you for this decision.
- 29:10Speaker 6: That is the best part about it, though, is I
- 29:12Speaker 6: almost look at it as they're giving you the keys
- 29:14Speaker 6: to break their heart, like they're providing all the information
- 29:17Speaker 6: necessary for you to destroy everything that they stand for,
- 29:21Speaker 6: because you know that they don't have much else. If
- 29:23Speaker 6: their rocket, if they have a ton of jerseys, those
- 29:25Speaker 6: people are hanging onto that for dear life. So that
- 29:28Speaker 6: is really they're just open for business if they're if there.
- 29:31Speaker 5: I mean, listen, I'll wear a jersey here and there.
- 29:32Speaker 5: But I kind of I did always kind of feel weird,
- 29:35Speaker 5: especially now. I mean, I'm forty years old. It's hard
- 29:38Speaker 5: for me to be like I want to buy it.
- 29:40Speaker 5: It's it's either I'm buying a jersey of a guy
- 29:42Speaker 5: who I'm fifteen years older than, or I'm buying the
- 29:45Speaker 5: jersey of a guy who was around my age, who's
- 29:47Speaker 5: doing ten times is.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Better than me in life. So either way, I'm like,
- 29:51Speaker 4: I don't want to buy it.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Dude, me too.
- 29:53Speaker 6: There's nothing more off putting than seeing a dude with
- 29:56Speaker 6: gray hair wearing a jersey.
- 29:59Speaker 3: They just don't Oh.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I know this gets over talked about, but you
- 30:03Speaker 1: when you're young, you can really dismiss the fact that
- 30:05Speaker 1: guys your age are millionaires because you're like, well, you're
- 30:07Speaker 1: a you were gifted with a special thing, and someday
- 30:12Speaker 1: I'll get mine. But then when you're like forty and
- 30:15Speaker 1: those guys are retired, and you're like, ah, I was
- 30:18Speaker 1: supposed to have spent this time getting mine.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I literally in my brain.
- 30:22Speaker 5: I mean I literally turned forty a week or two ago,
- 30:25Speaker 5: and I swear the other day I was thinking, because
- 30:29Speaker 5: I just thought about the same thought since I've.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Been a kid.
- 30:32Speaker 5: I was thinking, I still have the chance to make
- 30:34Speaker 5: the NBA, even though I haven't played basketball in twenty years.
- 30:39Speaker 5: It's it's not possible, But in my head, I'm like,
- 30:42Speaker 5: because I've always thought that eventually I'll make the NBA,
- 30:45Speaker 5: because I've bet, you know, because I played on the
- 30:47Speaker 5: high school beateam.
- 30:49Speaker 1: That makes me actually feel better about myself because every
- 30:52Speaker 1: time I would go in a gym to shoot jumpers,
- 30:55Speaker 1: it was never just like I'm shooting jumpers. It was like, ah, no, no, no,
- 30:59Speaker 1: I could get that one, like you said, like, and
- 31:01Speaker 1: then you start fantasizing you're like, all it would take
- 31:03Speaker 1: is me, Like, what happens if somebody is there, somebody
- 31:06Speaker 1: up there watching. You have that fantasy that somebody sees
- 31:08Speaker 1: you hit threes because you know you can't play defense
- 31:10Speaker 1: in the league, but they're like, you can hit. Look
- 31:12Speaker 1: at this dude. Put him in the corner. He hit
- 31:14Speaker 1: a big three. He's used to being in front of people.
- 31:16Speaker 1: This is this makes sense.
- 31:18Speaker 6: The amount of times that I shot around in my
- 31:20Speaker 6: front driveway while keeping an eye on the road for
- 31:23Speaker 6: a college scout to drive by slowly. It's such a
- 31:26Speaker 6: humiliating amount.
- 31:28Speaker 4: It's like stand up comedy too.
- 31:29Speaker 5: It's like you like, we'll be doing a show wherever
- 31:31Speaker 5: at a club in New York and then well, you know,
- 31:33Speaker 5: somebody will be like, oh man, right after you left,
- 31:36Speaker 5: you know, Louis c k walked in and you and
- 31:38Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, that could have been my chance, Like
- 31:40Speaker 5: what is he going to do? See my stand up
- 31:41Speaker 5: and be like, hey, you know what, I want to
- 31:44Speaker 5: give you the money, all the money that I made
- 31:46Speaker 5: on Louie and all my specials.
- 31:47Speaker 4: I want to give it to you.
- 31:48Speaker 5: I want to give you the money and give you
- 31:50Speaker 5: the credit. Like we have these warp images of what
- 31:53Speaker 5: people can even do for us.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I wonder if you get older, like, because there is
- 31:58Speaker 1: a point where you naturally, even if you were like
- 32:00Speaker 1: I was the aged as well as Tom Brady, you
- 32:03Speaker 1: get to the point where, like I would clearly be retired.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Now do you think your brain transitions into be like
- 32:10Speaker 1: and obviously I would coach. Do you think you transition
- 32:13Speaker 1: into that part of it?
- 32:15Speaker 3: I already have.
- 32:16Speaker 6: I've been looking for exit plans from comedy, so I'm
- 32:18Speaker 6: considering doing high school coaching at some point. But Lebron
- 32:22Speaker 6: is I don't know about you guys, but Lebron is
- 32:24Speaker 6: literally my last bastion of hope in terms of feeling
- 32:27Speaker 6: a connection to pro sports. The fact that he's thirty nine,
- 32:29Speaker 6: almost forty, the exact same age as me, and I'm
- 32:32Speaker 6: just like, well, he's still playing, so I could.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I could probably, you know, I could get out there
- 32:36Speaker 3: for ten minutes.
- 32:37Speaker 4: If Lebron can do it's so can I?
- 32:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:40Speaker 1: Very obviously, very obviously. I mean it's a movie that
- 32:44Speaker 1: screwed my You guys are Knicks fans, so this will
- 32:46Speaker 1: connect or you'll hate it. But I like the movie
- 32:49Speaker 1: Eddie to me, Yes, that was like cemented into my brain.
- 32:53Speaker 1: For I was like, well, Eddie, I mean, anything's possible
- 32:55Speaker 1: if Eddie happened. I had like, you don't realize how
- 32:58Speaker 1: niche of a movie that is. And until you're a
- 33:00Speaker 1: little older, Like you remember Eddie where whoopies the coach
- 33:03Speaker 1: of the Knicks, Like, what the hell are you talking about?
- 33:05Speaker 1: It's not a movie.
- 33:06Speaker 6: There's an image from that movie that is stuck in
- 33:08Speaker 6: my head till now, and I hadn't thought of it
- 33:11Speaker 6: in a long time, but the horse walking on the
- 33:13Speaker 6: court in sneakers. Dude, that image of the owner out
- 33:18Speaker 6: there with his cowboy hat and the horse like.
- 33:22Speaker 3: That is just etched in my brain.
- 33:25Speaker 5: Old school Larry Johnson, grandmama Larry Johnson was seized. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 5: and we're ten years older than he was, right now.
- 33:32Speaker 1: That's right. He seemed so old. Let's talk a little
- 33:37Speaker 1: bit about the game. We have a hard schedule to
- 33:39Speaker 1: start the year, and everybody is free, like, you gotta
- 33:43Speaker 1: get this one. This is the wind. They're not like
- 33:45Speaker 1: they have built the giants up as like if you're
- 33:48Speaker 1: gonna get one, you get this one. If you don't
- 33:50Speaker 1: get this one, you might as well just walk out
- 33:53Speaker 1: into the ocean is are you, But we are kind
- 33:56Speaker 1: of slated over on our end as having a tough
- 33:58Speaker 1: year with our division having out and better and Kirk
- 34:01Speaker 1: being gone, and so are you guys looking at it
- 34:03Speaker 1: the same way, like, well, if we can't get this one,
- 34:05Speaker 1: what the hell are we gonna do?
- 34:06Speaker 5: I mean, you know, obviously Saquon Barklay, you know, leaving
- 34:10Speaker 5: going to the Eagles.
- 34:10Speaker 4: That hurts and sucks. But I don't know.
- 34:14Speaker 5: I'm one of those guys. I just have faith in
- 34:16Speaker 5: Daniel Jones. I don't nobody else does.
- 34:19Speaker 4: But I do.
- 34:19Speaker 5: I drafted him in my fantasy draft two days ago, and.
- 34:22Speaker 4: The crowd what nuts.
- 34:24Speaker 5: They could not believe that I took him, and I
- 34:27Speaker 5: was like, I'm a loyal New Yorker, dude.
- 34:29Speaker 4: I think Daniel Jones is gonna be the MVP.
- 34:32Speaker 1: That's that's so endearing.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I think it's all about the beard.
- 34:36Speaker 1: You're like the dad who has to draft all Ohio
- 34:40Speaker 1: State players because that's his favorite college team. Like, I
- 34:42Speaker 1: don't think you should have taken Injigba in the first round.
- 34:46Speaker 1: That's not what anybody had ranked.
- 34:49Speaker 6: I love Chris has so much faith though, because that's
- 34:51Speaker 6: like the opposite of the New York media, and it's
- 34:53Speaker 6: so indicative of some of the New York fans though.
- 34:56Speaker 6: It's like we'll ride it to the to the wheels
- 34:57Speaker 6: fall off, man, let's go.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Yeah, do you guys?
- 35:00Speaker 1: Is there a big split like that where because the
- 35:01Speaker 1: media is the way it is, are there some fans
- 35:03Speaker 1: that are like, I don't want to hear it. Daniel
- 35:05Speaker 1: Jones is the first ballot, like, don't don't tell me this. Like,
- 35:10Speaker 1: and here's the thing. I would say, in most fan
- 35:12Speaker 1: bases you'd be like, that's a loaded But in your guys'
- 35:15Speaker 1: fan bases, you've twice as wild card, run through the playoffs,
- 35:19Speaker 1: won a super Bowl, one time you beat an undefeated
- 35:21Speaker 1: super team. Like there's it's like you have the unfortunate AMMO.
- 35:25Speaker 1: For the psychology of that.
- 35:27Speaker 5: I can understand Daniel Jones, like the conversation there, But
- 35:30Speaker 5: I mean the people that try to look Mike and
- 35:33Speaker 5: I in the face and tell us Eli Manning is
- 35:35Speaker 5: in a Hall of Famer, where like, are you out
- 35:37Speaker 5: of your mind?
- 35:38Speaker 4: Dude?
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 35:38Speaker 5: That people still even bring that up. Yes, he's a
- 35:41Speaker 5: Hall of He's a Hall of Famer. I mean, yeah,
- 35:44Speaker 5: he's he's the only part. I mean, he's he's amazing,
- 35:46Speaker 5: He's a Hall of Famer, and he's got the face
- 35:48Speaker 5: of a toddler.
- 35:49Speaker 3: I love it.
- 35:51Speaker 1: When you watch the fact that all those Mannings are now,
- 35:55Speaker 1: you know, titans of industry. You do look at Eli
- 35:59Speaker 1: and it's in possible not to like him, where you're like,
- 36:02Speaker 1: oh god, he's by far was the least Peyton was
- 36:05Speaker 1: obviously the most popular, like it got all the attention,
- 36:08Speaker 1: and he clearly has that little brother like I'm just
- 36:11Speaker 1: gonna be like funny and kind of weird and mean.
- 36:14Speaker 1: He's got that vibe to him. It's impossible not to
- 36:17Speaker 1: like him.
- 36:17Speaker 6: He has maybe the best dumb poker face on planet Earth, too,
- 36:21Speaker 6: and that clearly comes from just getting tortured by his
- 36:23Speaker 6: older brother and him not just showing weakness. He's like,
- 36:27Speaker 6: all right, if I just stay stoic and dumbfaced, he'll
- 36:30Speaker 6: eventually walk away from frustration.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I saw this thing. They had some stupid graphic online
- 36:37Speaker 1: where they had the highest winning percentage in NFL history,
- 36:41Speaker 1: and they ranked him one all the way to thirty two,
- 36:44Speaker 1: and the Vikings were way up. I think they were
- 36:46Speaker 1: like six or something all time. But then what they
- 36:49Speaker 1: did underneath the win percentages is they put the amount
- 36:53Speaker 1: of super Bowls, but they actually put the like the
- 36:55Speaker 1: little Lombardi a Lombardi, a Lombardi, So all the top
- 36:58Speaker 1: twelve teams, multiple Lombardies, Vikings zero, So that hurts. And
- 37:04Speaker 1: then you scroll all the way down. You guys have
- 37:06Speaker 1: a historically low win percentage, but a hilarious amount of
- 37:12Speaker 1: super Bowls to go with it. It's like you drive
- 37:15Speaker 1: into a bad neighborhood and you're like, are there six?
- 37:19Speaker 1: Are there six lexuses in that driveway? Like it's it
- 37:23Speaker 1: is the thing that I would as a Viking fan
- 37:25Speaker 1: who We've won a lot of games forever, I'm so
- 37:28Speaker 1: jealous of that. Does that does it carry the years
- 37:32Speaker 1: of losing those titles? Does it get through them or
- 37:35Speaker 1: does it make it worse when you don't get more
- 37:37Speaker 1: of them?
- 37:38Speaker 6: I mean, I personally, I could go my whole life
- 37:40Speaker 6: without another super Bowl. Those two super Bowls led by
- 37:43Speaker 6: Eli Manning were at such a perfect point in my
- 37:45Speaker 6: life that I'm good, I'm held over forever.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I agree.
- 37:50Speaker 5: I kind of feel like as long as the Giants
- 37:52Speaker 5: get in the playoffs, I know that just we're just
- 37:55Speaker 5: all confident that they can do anything because of what
- 37:58Speaker 5: they've done. It's the opposite of the Cowboys. The Cowboys
- 38:01Speaker 5: are just like, oh yeah, we're good in the regular
- 38:02Speaker 5: season and then fall apart. But I'd rather be I'd
- 38:05Speaker 5: rather be the Giants, where we just i mean, you're
- 38:08Speaker 5: just kind of mad at them for about four months.
- 38:11Speaker 5: You're just angry with them, and then they pull it together.
- 38:14Speaker 5: It's like a It's like, you know, like a kid
- 38:16Speaker 5: who's doing bad in school and then at the end
- 38:18Speaker 5: he's just banging, just gets a hundred, you know.
- 38:20Speaker 1: On somebody who's just a killer at test.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and he doesn't. We were like, yeah, but you.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Crushed it, all right. Tell me tell me about the
- 38:28Speaker 1: special Gang, Mike, tell me where we can get it.
