- 0:00BRIAN DERRICK: I'm Brian Derrick.
- 0:00GLENNIS MEAGHER: And I'm Glennis Meagher.
- 0:02GLENNIS MEAGHER: Welcome back to Vibes Only.
- 0:05GLENNIS MEAGHER: We are less than two weeks out from Election Day, and to be totally honest, we are tired.
- 0:10BRIAN DERRICK: We are, but we're checking in on the state of the race starting in Ohio, where political attacks have hit a new rock bottom, featuring estranged family members and mailers designed to deliberately confuse voters.
- 0:24GLENNIS MEAGHER: We're also breaking down evil, pure evil, news clips on Republican messaging strategy, Donald Trump's bizarre campaign claims in North Carolina, and new polling showing 59% of voters disapprove of his performance.
- 0:38BRIAN DERRICK: Plus, we're gonna get into the real world hit to your wallet.
- 0:42BRIAN DERRICK: Healthcare costs are skyrocketing, and the US is officially running a $2 trillion annual deficit, thanks to all of Trump's lies.
- 0:50GLENNIS MEAGHER: And wait until you hear about Elon Musk's new scam, giving stock to newborn babies as a tax write-off that conveniently funnels money right back into his pocket.
- 1:03BRIAN DERRICK: Let's get into it.
- 1:04GLENNIS MEAGHER: Hey, Brian.
- 1:05BRIAN DERRICK: Hey, G.
- 1:05BRIAN DERRICK: Less than two weeks to go.
- 1:09BRIAN DERRICK: How we feeling?
- 1:10GLENNIS MEAGHER: I've- I'm hanging on by a thread.
- 1:12GLENNIS MEAGHER: That's how I feel.
- 1:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: How are you feeling?
- 1:15BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, dragging my raggedy ass over the finish line like a broken pile of bones is how I feel.
- 1:22BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 1:23GLENNIS MEAGHER: I had to, like, throw my Oura Ring out the window yesterday 'cause it was like,"Major signs you seem stressed," and I'm like, "Yeah, thanks.
- 1:31GLENNIS MEAGHER: Thanks, data.
- 1:32GLENNIS MEAGHER: Thanks, Palantir."
- 1:33BRIAN DERRICK: This is for sure the most burnt out I've ever been.
- 1:37BRIAN DERRICK: It's my-
- 1:37GLENNIS MEAGHER: Ah… BRIAN DERRICK: fifth election gig, and I'm exhausted.
- 1:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm cooked.
- 1:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay.
- 1:46GLENNIS MEAGHER: So what commitment are you making to yourself for self-care post-election?
- 1:50GLENNIS MEAGHER: Are you gonna do something?
- 1:51GLENNIS MEAGHER: Are you gonna do a spa day?
- 1:53BRIAN DERRICK: Oh, I'm just literally gonna vanish.
- 1:55BRIAN DERRICK: No one's gonna hear from me for months.
- 1:57GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, you're gonna be like, "Uh, Alexa, play Lady Gaga Vanish Into You." Brian disappears.
- 2:03BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, I'll be gone.
- 2:03BRIAN DERRICK: You'll-- No one will have any idea where I am for- Okay, good … an extended period of time.
- 2:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: I love that for you.
- 2:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: You deserve it.
- 2:09BRIAN DERRICK: I mean, same.
- 2:10BRIAN DERRICK: Where are you going?
- 2:12BRIAN DERRICK: Sweden.
- 2:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: No, I mean, I'm gonna-- I think I wanna do, like, a staycation in New York City and, like, do a spa, like into, like, a nice hotel night, into like, no one can reach me vibe.
- 2:24BRIAN DERRICK: I love it.
- 2:25GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, I-- You know, we all need, we all need to go offline for a second.
- 2:29GLENNIS MEAGHER: We're very online.
- 2:30BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 2:30BRIAN DERRICK: The good news is we'll be celebrating post-election- Yes … we think, not sort of sulking as has been the case for the last few election cycles.
- 2:42BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, we have lots of good news.
- 2:43BRIAN DERRICK: Should we get into state of the race?
- 2:46GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, let's get into it.
- 2:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's funny you say that, too.
- 2:50GLENNIS MEAGHER: Also, I was in a meeting the other day, and we were, like, going back and forth on something, and I'm like, I had, like, a meltdown, and I was just like, "We don't even ever win anyway." I was like, "Why are we talking about this?" 'Cause it was just like this, like, minute thing.
- 3:03GLENNIS MEAGHER: And you know, Republicans are so experienced at throwing spaghetti against the wall and doing everything that they possibly can to try and win, and testing various different messages and digital strategies and ground strategies.
- 3:16GLENNIS MEAGHER: And I think right now we are seeing that Republicans and Trump himself are trying everything possible to win, whether that be horrific attack ads that we're seeing, whether it be Trump stumping on this, like, roadshow he's on for rallies for Republican candidates, money being thrown into the race.
- 3:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: And then I don't know if you saw this Jesse Watters clip from the last 24, 48 hours saying how Republicans should be messaging.
- 3:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's absolutely horrific.
- 3:47GLENNIS MEAGHER: So where should we begin?
- 3:48BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, I, I think that you're right.
- 3:49BRIAN DERRICK: It's sort of Republicans in free fall is the vibe right now, and they are grasping at, at straws, and it's getting really ugly.
- 3:59BRIAN DERRICK: I feel like we should start with Ohio because that's probably the tip of the spear in terms of the ugliest politics can possibly be.
- 4:06BRIAN DERRICK: What do you think?
- 4:07GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 4:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: So I saw this yesterday on my For You page.
- 4:10GLENNIS MEAGHER: Jen Psaki did a video on this.
- 4:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: Vivek Ramaswamy has put out one of the most horrific attack ads I have ever seen On background, Amy Acton was pulled out of her family home because her mother's husband, her stepfather, was abusive to the children.
- 4:31GLENNIS MEAGHER: She has no relationship with her mother.
- 4:33GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's known she has no relationship with her mother, and that her mother is a piece of shit.
- 4:39GLENNIS MEAGHER: That's kind of public knowledge.
- 4:41GLENNIS MEAGHER: And cut to an attack ad that was put up in the last week with her mother speaking about Amy against her How low can you go?
- 4:54BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 4:55BRIAN DERRICK: Her mom calling her a liar because she told the truth about her mother's husband being a sexual abuser and pedophile is
- 5:12GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like
- 5:13BRIAN DERRICK: jaw-dropping in, in how fucked up that is and to, yeah, like you said, clip it and then use it for political purposes is really rock bottom kind of stuff.
- 5:26BRIAN DERRICK: When they published the ad, it got immediate bipartisan backlash.
- 5:31BRIAN DERRICK: Republicans saying- Mm-hmm … "You have to distance yourselves from this." They spent more than $4 million pushing that ad.
- 5:39BRIAN DERRICK: And it plays into all of the worst things that people think about Ramaswamy, that he's ultimately this like sleazy, slimy, philandering scam artist.
- 5:53BRIAN DERRICK: Because, I mean, his whole background is, is made up.
- 5:56BRIAN DERRICK: All the phar- Mm-hmm … the pharmaceutical company that he sold was literally all fraud.
- 6:01GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 6:01BRIAN DERRICK: And him making hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars off of investors, not off of selling a product that worked.
- 6:09BRIAN DERRICK: Nothing- Yeah … that they, they produced actually ended up working.
- 6:12BRIAN DERRICK: He had hired his mom, who was not qualified to do anything that she was doing to, like, produce the study that said that this drug worked, and then he built an entire company off of it.
- 6:23BRIAN DERRICK: So ev- everyone already knows that he's a, a fraudster.
- 6:29BRIAN DERRICK: Scam artist.
- 6:31BRIAN DERRICK: 'Cause he's a grift artist.
- 6:31BRIAN DERRICK: So I think that going and misrepresenting someone's family trauma as a political talking point plays directly into the worst things that people believe about him already.
- 6:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 6:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: Talk about someone that we want to go offline and never hear from again.
- 6:48GLENNIS MEAGHER: Vivek Ramaswamy, you're number one.
- 6:51BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 6:52GLENNIS MEAGHER: We also saw in Ohio a Republican super PAC spend on mailers for the socialist candidate for Senate trying to split the vote for Sherrod Brown.
- 7:04GLENNIS MEAGHER: This is potentially less… It's less violent behavior, but still really shitty.
- 7:11GLENNIS MEAGHER: Thankfully, there's a lot of internet traction on this, and, uh, Ohio content creators in the news are reporting out on this.
- 7:16GLENNIS MEAGHER: But they are-- They put together these, like, really, like, well-designed mailers around this candidate, and they're just trying to split the vote.
- 7:25BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, and Republicans have been doing this all cycle.
- 7:27BRIAN DERRICK: That they're- Yeah … standing up these PACs in the final weeks before an election, before anyone can really see where the money's coming from, and then dumping a bunch of comms, digital mail, et cetera, into boosting socialist candidates and targeting Democrats, not Republicans, with that messaging, trying to, to split the vote.
- 7:46BRIAN DERRICK: They've had relatively little success, but I think it kind of undercuts their entire argument of the whole cycle.
- 7:53BRIAN DERRICK: Like, the only thing they're running on is Democrats are socialists, and therefore you- Right … have to support us.
- 7:57BRIAN DERRICK: You have no choice.
- 7:58BRIAN DERRICK: But if you're the ones actually spending the money to boost socialists, clearly you don't think that they're that much of a threat
- 8:05GLENNIS MEAGHER: because- 'Cause heaven forbid a socialist wins- Right thanks to your spending.
- 8:09BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 8:10BRIAN DERRICK: And this also just gets to the problem with having so many ways to hide and disavow political contributions and political activity that re- Republicans should have to, like, stand on business and own it if you're gonna run ads for someone.
- 8:24BRIAN DERRICK: And that's why our campaign finance system is so fucked up, that they feel like they can do this without ever having any accountability for who paid for it.
- 8:31GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, they stand it up, they stand it down, they're gone.
- 8:33GLENNIS MEAGHER: Right.
- 8:34GLENNIS MEAGHER: As you and I both know, state-specific campaign finance can get very wonky very fast.
- 8:40GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay, here is another thing that I saw.
- 8:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm gonna play this clip.
- 8:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: Jesse Watters on Fox.
- 8:48JESSE WATTERS: And have fear porn.
- 8:50JESSE WATTERS: You have to say, "These people are gonna take your healthcare.
- 8:53JESSE WATTERS: They're gonna let in the Third World.
- 8:55JESSE WATTERS: They're gonna jack up your taxes," and that's what's gonna get people to come out to vote. You have to say, "These people are scary and dangerous.
- 9:03JESSE WATTERS: You know what we're all about." And that's really a choice.
- 9:06FOX NEWS: Hmm.
- 9:07FOX NEWS: Good for you.
- 9:07FOX NEWS: Fear porn.
- 9:08BRIAN DERRICK: That's psychotic.
- 9:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: So that psychotic talking points coming out of Fox News.
- 9:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: They're saying the quiet part out loud now.
- 9:15GLENNIS MEAGHER: They're just othering people.
- 9:16GLENNIS MEAGHER: They have for many, many cycles, and it's not about their policies, their horrible policies that are taking money out of your pocket and putting it into theirs.
- 9:29GLENNIS MEAGHER: They're saying it's, "Oh, that person's fault, that person's fault." Cut to Donald Trump.
- 9:35GLENNIS MEAGHER: He's on this tour.
- 9:36GLENNIS MEAGHER: Have you been following this at all, his, his GOTV-
- 9:41BRIAN DERRICK: I try not to.
- 9:42BRIAN DERRICK: I try not to.
- 9:43GLENNIS MEAGHER: Well, NPR doesn't allow me not to.
- 9:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: So this morning- … they were talking about it.
- 9:48GLENNIS MEAGHER: He was in North Carolina.
- 9:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: Apparently, it was one of his smaller rallies.
- 9:51GLENNIS MEAGHER: One, he basically said Roy Cooper's gonna get elected.
- 9:54GLENNIS MEAGHER: I don't know if it was a gaffe or what, but he said, "You're gonna have Roy Cooper as, as your senator, and it's gonna be bad." So that sucks.
- 10:03GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like it- it's just like, what you… What, dude?
- 10:07GLENNIS MEAGHER: What are you talking about?
- 10:09GLENNIS MEAGHER: But then also he's on this road show, and he's promising, as we spoke about a couple weeks ago, you know, if Republicans win, he's giving every American $5,000, which presumably you could do anyway, regardless of an electoral outcome.
- 10:24GLENNIS MEAGHER: He's also promising North Carolinians, "Oh, if the Republicans win, I'm going to…" I forget what it was, like clean up your water or something.
- 10:33GLENNIS MEAGHER: Why not just do that now?
- 10:35BRIAN DERRICK: If you- Me and ExxonMobil.
- 10:37BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 10:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: So it's, it's so blatant, and then we get this Times-Siena poll this morning that, and let me get this right, just 36% of likely voters said that they approved of Mr.
- 10:50GLENNIS MEAGHER: Trump's performance while 59% said that they disapproved.
- 10:54GLENNIS MEAGHER: That is his lowest approval rating in any Times-Siena poll.
- 10:58GLENNIS MEAGHER: More than two-thirds of independent voters said that they disapprove of the way he has handled his job as president
- 11:06BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 11:07BRIAN DERRICK: I can't help but to, to think about Trump's midterm strategy as, like, he's a pilot and there's just a blaring warning sign in the cockpit, "Terrain.
- 11:20BRIAN DERRICK: Terrain.
- 11:21BRIAN DERRICK: Pull up.
- 11:22BRIAN DERRICK: Pull up." And he's just like, "Boo." Right.
- 11:24BRIAN DERRICK: Like, literally like- Kamikaze… steering directly into the mountain.
- 11:29BRIAN DERRICK: Like, every decision that he's made has made things worse.
- 11:32BRIAN DERRICK: Like, every decision.
- 11:34BRIAN DERRICK: I can't think of something that they've done that has actually improved their electoral prospects in months.
- 11:43BRIAN DERRICK: In months.
- 11:44BRIAN DERRICK: Even things like the Russian diesel stunt, which we talked about, like ultimately hurt his electoral chances because people simultaneously know that it's a farce and can see that he's kowtowing to a dictator.
- 11:58BRIAN DERRICK: Like, it's crazy.
- 12:00GLENNIS MEAGHER: Wait, to that point, I didn't realize this.
- 12:02GLENNIS MEAGHER: Did you know… I'm kind of flabbergasted this isn't, like, even bigger news with this diesel stunt.
- 12:10GLENNIS MEAGHER: So Congress had voted to pass the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, and this cleared on September 16th.
- 12:18GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, very safely cleared, and it was set these new sanctions against Russia were set to go into effect on Friday, October 17th.
- 12:30GLENNIS MEAGHER: But one day before they started, Trump signed an executive order waiving most of the sanctions.
- 12:37BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 12:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's legal.
- 12:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: There was an escape hatch in the bill saying that if it was for reasons for national security, the new sa- sanctions wouldn't go into place.
- 12:47BRIAN DERRICK: No, it's crazy.
- 12:49BRIAN DERRICK: And it's, again, coming at the same time that Trump's best friend, unelected oligarch, Elon Musk, is turning off and on the Wi-Fi for Ukraine like it's the'90s and someone's being banned from the family computer room.
- 13:15BRIAN DERRICK: You know what I mean?
- 13:16BRIAN DERRICK: Like, to have that level of control and then use it in ways to personally benefit the, the president or to advance his agenda, which is directly opposed to the agenda and best interests of the United States I don't have
- 13:33GLENNIS MEAGHER: words I'm going crazy.
- 13:34GLENNIS MEAGHER: I don't have words.
- 13:35GLENNIS MEAGHER: And not only that, Elon Musk, who's turning Starlink on and off, on and off, which is like making a lot of the Ukrainian drones like inoperable-
- 13:45BRIAN DERRICK: Right… GLENNIS MEAGHER: is also pumping elections to get electoral outcomes that best benefit Elon Musk.
- 13:55BRIAN DERRICK: 100%.
- 13:56BRIAN DERRICK: A lot of the dots are starting to be connected for people in ways that just feel really crazy.
- 14:02BRIAN DERRICK: Like, how can you not see it, you know?
- 14:06GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's, it's-- Well, people are seeing it, and that's like, you know, having the talking point of MAGA Republicans, Republicans are taking money out of your pocket and putting it into theirs.
- 14:14GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, I think people are actually feeling that.
- 14:16GLENNIS MEAGHER: You go to the gas pump, you go to the grocery store, things just cost more.
- 14:21BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 14:21GLENNIS MEAGHER: Speaking of things that cost more, Brian, you know what it is?
- 14:24GLENNIS MEAGHER: Not only is it voting season, it's open enrollment for-
- 14:27BRIAN DERRICK: It is… GLENNIS MEAGHER: healthcare.
- 14:29BRIAN DERRICK: It is.
- 14:29GLENNIS MEAGHER: It opens on November 1st, but like you're allowed to start browsing now.
- 14:33GLENNIS MEAGHER: Health insurance is gonna go up 15%.
- 14:37BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 14:37BRIAN DERRICK: We just did this for Oath.
- 14:40BRIAN DERRICK: We obviously give all of our employees healthcare.
- 14:43BRIAN DERRICK: It's, it's tough.
- 14:46BRIAN DERRICK: When you have a limited budget, any additional money that you're spending on healthcare comes out of somewhere, right?
- 14:56BRIAN DERRICK: You're-- It's- Mm-hmm … you're either reducing other kinds of expenses, you're reducing the budget that you had for raises and compensation.
- 15:04BRIAN DERRICK: It plays into the hidden ways that healthcare being so expensive actually makes all of us poorer.
- 15:11GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 15:12BRIAN DERRICK: Even if you're not the one directly footing the bill, there's just more and more money being set on fire in this part of the economy that doesn't materially improve lives.
- 15:25BRIAN DERRICK: Like, no one is happy with their healthcare outcomes.
- 15:28BRIAN DERRICK: It would be so different if it was like, "Okay, it's expensive, but like we're living good.
- 15:34BRIAN DERRICK: People are healthy.
- 15:35BRIAN DERRICK: They're stress-free.
- 15:36BRIAN DERRICK: They can go to the doctor.
- 15:37BRIAN DERRICK: They can get the healthcare that they need whenever they need it." Like, then it would be like,"Okay, yeah, like it's expensive.
- 15:43BRIAN DERRICK: I, I get it." But it's like, no, no, no, no, no, like these are margins that you're directly paying to CEOs and shareholders that are not going to actually improve your healthcare experience or outcomes.
- 15:56BRIAN DERRICK: That's what's infuriating.
- 15:57GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's, it's absolutely crazy.
- 16:03GLENNIS MEAGHER: I don't even know what to say.
- 16:04GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's just, I don't know how people can afford it.
- 16:05GLENNIS MEAGHER: I really don't.
- 16:06GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, especially on the, the marketplace, the monthly cost is, like, upwards of $1,000 just to have coverage, let alone what your deductibles- That's what I was saying… and out-of-pocket maximums are.
- 16:17GLENNIS MEAGHER: Um, that's why so many people just have, like, catastrophic health insurance.
- 16:22BRIAN DERRICK: Right.
- 16:23BRIAN DERRICK: Right.
- 16:24GLENNIS MEAGHER: They're like,"Okay, let's see what happens." But then, of course, you know, this … As you know, as a one-year potential major in public health, like, it's, it's a domino effect.
- 16:37GLENNIS MEAGHER: People don't go to the doctor, so they end up in the ER.
- 16:40GLENNIS MEAGHER: The
- 16:40BRIAN DERRICK: ER- Excuse me.
- 16:41BRIAN DERRICK: You mean as an epidemiologist.
- 16:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, no.
- 16:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: I mean, you, you intended on majoring in for at least one year.
- 16:48GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay?
- 16:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: So you took more public health
- 16:50BRIAN DERRICK: classes than I did.
- 16:50BRIAN DERRICK: For at least one semester.
- 16:51BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:52GLENNIS MEAGHER: Oh, one semester.
- 16:52GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay.
- 16:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: That's different than a year.
- 16:54BRIAN DERRICK: No, it was a year.
- 16:55BRIAN DERRICK: It was a year.
- 16:55GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay.
- 16:56GLENNIS MEAGHER: Anyway, just like add it to the list of things that are costing too much money, and it's just, like, the quality of life in the United States of America is deteriorating while the rich get richer
- 17:09BRIAN DERRICK: Kooky crazy man.
- 17:10BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 17:11BRIAN DERRICK: Back to Elon Musk for a second.
- 17:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: No.
- 17:14BRIAN DERRICK: Did you see the news that Elon Musk is planning to give one share of SpaceX stock to every American child?
- 17:22GLENNIS MEAGHER: I did, but then I saw, not unlike the Susan Dell, Dell family Trump accounts for kids, this is just a tax maneuver to save-
- 17:32BRIAN DERRICK: 100%… GLENNIS MEAGHER: billions Yeah.
- 17:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: I also don't fully understand the mechanics of it, but I saw a video that's saying that, like, the Dell account specifically, it was supposed to originally be, like, X amount of dollars, like hard cash, and now it's becoming, like, just, like, stock dumps.
- 17:52GLENNIS MEAGHER: So people-- these accounts are taking on, like, stocks that, like, people don't want.
- 17:58GLENNIS MEAGHER: I don't know.
- 17:59BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 18:00BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, so they set up these Trump accounts, which obviously will be renamed in 2029, but it's an account in the name of every child.
- 18:09BRIAN DERRICK: This is an orig- this is a Democratic idea and a Democratic Party proposal.
- 18:15BRIAN DERRICK: At the time, it was called Baby Bonds, and the idea is give every child when they're born an account that gets them invested in the s- like, in the economy overall, and so that by the time they're 18, it's actually matured over a long period of time, and that that would actually be more cost-efficient than other, certain other parts of the safety net- Mm-hmm because someone would actually, there'd be compounding interest and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, returns.
- 18:44BRIAN DERRICK: Private companies and individuals like the Dells, as you said, have d- made their own decision as to if, if they wanna contribute something into these accounts, and it does largely seem to be a PR or tax move.
- 19:00BRIAN DERRICK: Elon Musk's is particularly egregious.
- 19:03BRIAN DERRICK: So he's saying that he's gonna give one share to everyone, but that's gonna allow him to write off billions and billions of dollars to avoid paying taxes on being a trillionaire.
- 19:16BRIAN DERRICK: The way that it's gonna work is it's gonna move the money from the stock market, from his personal accounts, to a foundation, his foundation- Hmm and then from his foundation to the Trump accounts, and his foundation is required to hit a minimum every year of how much it pays out.
- 19:33BRIAN DERRICK: You can't just dump unlimited sums in a foundation and hold it there and, and get the tax benefits.
- 19:38BRIAN DERRICK: So this is a way around that because he has failed to actually donate sufficient, the mandatory legal minimum from his foundation, he has failed to donate the last five years running.
- 19:51BRIAN DERRICK: So he never gives away any money because he's literally a psychopath and the greediest person on planet Earth.
- 19:58BRIAN DERRICK: And This is a way for him to avoid having to actually give away money.
- 20:05BRIAN DERRICK: It's a giant tax write-off.
- 20:06BRIAN DERRICK: It's basically like double-dipping on tax benefits.
- 20:10GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 20:10GLENNIS MEAGHER: I think if you put my, like, blood in a thermometer right now, it would be boiling, 'cause when you think about also what he did with DOGE and the cuts that he did, and the fact that there are literal children who are dying globally because USAID has pulled out of their countries or communities, it is pure evil.
- 20:32GLENNIS MEAGHER: Bono and The Edge from U2 did a-- The New York Times, they do an interview every Sunday, and they were last Sunday, and the reporter asked Bono about it because, you know, with RED he's been doing aid work for a long time.
- 20:47GLENNIS MEAGHER: Remember RED where, like, you got an iPad and that U2 album was, like, automatically downloaded, and everyone was like, "We don't want this." Like, what?
- 20:57GLENNIS MEAGHER: Anyway, he worked closely-- Like, the RED organization worked closely with USAID, and Bono was like, "You know, when I think about how one categorizes pure evil or evil in this country, I think-- or in this world, I think about children."
- 21:09BRIAN DERRICK: It's how, how someone affects children.
- 21:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, exactly.
- 21:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: Or, you know, look at Epstein.
- 21:15GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, all-- It's all of-- It's all evil and, like, the Republican Party is filled with evil people.
- 21:23BRIAN DERRICK: And speaking of DOGE, did you see the new deficit numbers?
- 21:30GLENNIS MEAGHER: No
- 21:31BRIAN DERRICK: The US is running the largest deficit in the history of the country outside of the one year that we spent our way out of COVID economic catastrophe.
- 21:43BRIAN DERRICK: And it's $2 trillion now that we're running at an annual deficit of $2 trillion because Republicans made it look like they were gonna cut spending and taxes at the same time.
- 21:59BRIAN DERRICK: But really, they just, like, gutted the programs that actually deliver meaningful, useful things to the public, did not cut spending overall across the federal government because they boosted military and war- Yeah costs by so much, and simultaneously let corporations and billionaires off the hook for taxes, the top 1% having the only, like, real meaningful drop in incurred cost in the last year.
- 22:31BRIAN DERRICK: And so we're literally drilling ourselves down this hole of national debt faster than we ever have before and getting nothing for it other than bombs dropped on the Middle East.
- 22:47GLENNIS MEAGHER: And increased health insurance costs, and increased gas prices- It's crazy … and increased grocery prices, and larger interest rates on mortgages, and no one can afford to buy a home.
- 23:00GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, it, it's, it's not good, and I can only think of how we break out of this.
- 23:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: We hold people accountable, and we create policies in this country that actually help the American people.
- 23:14GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, the, the last time the budget was balanced was Bill Clinton.
- 23:19BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 23:19BRIAN DERRICK: Democrats always reduce the deficit, and Republicans always increase it.
- 23:23BRIAN DERRICK: That's, like, the, the truth of the last 40 years.
- 23:26GLENNIS MEAGHER: Damn.
- 23:29GLENNIS MEAGHER: Should we do some clickbait?
- 23:31BRIAN DERRICK: I think we should.
- 23:32GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay, Brian, let's do a little clickbait double click, where we run through some of the week's headlines, and we decide if it's worth your time or not.
- 23:41BRIAN DERRICK: Let's get into it.
- 23:44BRIAN DERRICK: Democrats in the House are circulating a letter of intent, essentially, to impeach Pete Hegseth immediately after the midterms.
- 23:56BRIAN DERRICK: Clickbait or double click?
- 23:58GLENNIS MEAGHER: Combo.
- 23:59GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like good, and I, I think we need to like really pressure Democrats to just begin the accountability era of the United States government, where we're not letting anyone off the hook.
- 24:14BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 24:16BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, impeach his ass.
- 24:17BRIAN DERRICK: I'm like very, very pro that.
- 24:19BRIAN DERRICK: Hegseth is a disaster.
- 24:21BRIAN DERRICK: Okay, next one.
- 24:21BRIAN DERRICK: President Trump announced controversial plans to renovate the public East Potomac Golf Course in DC.
- 24:28GLENNIS MEAGHER: I saw that.
- 24:29GLENNIS MEAGHER: Double click 'cause it's like, okay, yeah, duh.
- 24:31GLENNIS MEAGHER: That's all he cares about is golfing and his ballroom and destroying everyone's lives except for his cronies.
- 24:39GLENNIS MEAGHER: So, okay.
- 24:43BRIAN DERRICK: Is that the new kicking ass and taking names?
- 24:45BRIAN DERRICK: It's playing golf and destroying lives.
- 24:48BRIAN DERRICK: Doesn't quite have the same ring.
- 24:50GLENNIS MEAGHER: No, but that's, that's-- And he's not even like good at it.
- 24:54GLENNIS MEAGHER: Do you think-- This is unrelated.
- 24:55GLENNIS MEAGHER: I guess this is like internet clickbait double click, that Trump is wearing an exoskeleton.
- 25:00GLENNIS MEAGHER: Have you seen this?
- 25:03BRIAN DERRICK: What are you talking about?
- 25:05GLENNIS MEAGHER: So the conspiracy is that when you look at Trump's frame, it's always been off, right?
- 25:12GLENNIS MEAGHER: And a bit grotesque But now look, like look at the way, I'll send you some clips.
- 25:18GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, the idea is that, I don't know, his brain, like the dementia is affecting his gait and his ability to stand and- Guys Did you, or did you see the clip of
- 25:30BRIAN DERRICK: him?
- 25:30BRIAN DERRICK: Keep it together.
- 25:31BRIAN DERRICK: Keep it together for a couple more weeks.
- 25:34BRIAN DERRICK: We just have to get through the midterms.
- 25:38BRIAN DERRICK: This is ridiculous.
- 25:39GLENNIS MEAGHER: If any nurses or doctors listen to Vibes Only, please DM us.
- 25:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: This is a real- All
- 25:45BRIAN DERRICK: right… GLENNIS MEAGHER: like hot internet.
- 25:46BRIAN DERRICK: It's the definition of clickbait, and think of how, for how many months, years at this point, have we been talking about every bruised hand and every doctor's appointment and, and day that he's missing, whatever.
- 26:00BRIAN DERRICK: He has ingested so much artificial preservatives that he is now pickled and he- Totally … will be around forever.
- 26:07BRIAN DERRICK: He's gonna outlive his children.
- 26:09BRIAN DERRICK: We just have to make our peace that he's
- 26:11GLENNIS MEAGHER: going- Wait, he, he also said- … nowhere … in one of these rallies that he takes like one of those like massive like Tylenols every day.
- 26:20GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's like part of his protocol.
- 26:21GLENNIS MEAGHER: Oh.
- 26:21GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm like, "Oh, you're on a blood thinner because you're gravely ill.
- 26:25GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay-" Wait, he's- "… thank you for letting us know."
- 26:26BRIAN DERRICK: He's supposed to be on like baby aspirin and he's taking like oxy?
- 26:30GLENNIS MEAGHER: No, like literally he's like, "I need it.
- 26:31GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's my medicine." And I was like, "Okay."
- 26:33BRIAN DERRICK: That's funny.
- 26:34GLENNIS MEAGHER: Okay.
- 26:35GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 26:35BRIAN DERRICK: Okay, I have another one for you.
- 26:37GLENNIS MEAGHER: Wow.
- 26:38BRIAN DERRICK: During the No Kings protest that happened last weekend, Meta took down the primary No Kings organizer's account for most of the day and blamed it on them posting at a very high frequency, but the account shared data that shows that they were not posting anywhere near their highest frequency that they regularly do
- 27:03GLENNIS MEAGHER: Hmm.
- 27:05GLENNIS MEAGHER: So this was big in my world, obviously, but on No Kings Day, I was at the UGA game.
- 27:11GLENNIS MEAGHER: I think this is worth talking about and being curious because I don't trust Meta, I don't trust TikTok, I don't trust any of these platforms, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone was like, like switch that account off for a couple hours.
- 27:30GLENNIS MEAGHER: Um, I also do know that, like, you can get banned on the platform or, like, your account can be suspended if you are, like, DM'ing too many people the exact same language or if you're spam posting.
- 27:42GLENNIS MEAGHER: But if Indivisible is saying,"We weren't spam-- Like, we weren't posting at a faster cadence," I think it's sus.
- 27:47GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, I do think it's sus.
- 27:49BRIAN DERRICK: It's so sus.
- 27:50BRIAN DERRICK: In the same week to have one billionaire turn off the internet for one of our allies and a different billionaire's platform de-platform the opposition, not just even in the US, but they are doing the same thing in Brazil with Lula.
- 28:07GLENNIS MEAGHER: Mm.
- 28:07BRIAN DERRICK: And they are doing the same thing in Albania with this fight over the Jared Kushner island purchase-
- 28:14GLENNIS MEAGHER: Really?
- 28:15GLENNIS MEAGHER: I didn't know that … that Meta has been--
- 28:17BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, that Meta has been interfering and making it harder for people to organize against it online.
- 28:21BRIAN DERRICK: So there's a lot of very sketchy things happening potentially at the direction of billionaires associated with Donald Trump.
- 28:30BRIAN DERRICK: It's the biggest threat to American democracy is us-
- 28:35GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah
- 28:35BRIAN DERRICK: collapsing into a sort of hollow shell of our government that's really run by a handful of tech billionaires.
- 28:45GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 28:46GLENNIS MEAGHER: And lest we forget, you know, Meta does not have the best track record.
- 28:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: Uh, Cambridge Analytica comes to mind.
- 28:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: Here's one related to all of our Russia stuff.
- 28:56GLENNIS MEAGHER: This happened yesterday.
- 28:57GLENNIS MEAGHER: Russia releases American Stephen Hubbard from prison.
- 29:02GLENNIS MEAGHER: Are you aware of this?
- 29:04BRIAN DERRICK: Clickbait.
- 29:05BRIAN DERRICK: No.
- 29:05BRIAN DERRICK: I mean, yes, but, like, no, I don't, I don't-
- 29:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: Also, he… Okay, listen
- 29:09BRIAN DERRICK: Like, great.
- 29:10BRIAN DERRICK: I don't really know who that is, but who cares?
- 29:12GLENNIS MEAGHER: He's a guy who volunteered to go fight for Ukraine, and he got captured by Russia.
- 29:17GLENNIS MEAGHER: Trump's using it as, as a political stunt 'cause he wants people to be distracted from the fact that he literally went against the Republican-controlled House and Senate sanctioning Russia with his executive order.
- 29:29BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, I mean, this costs Russia nothing.
- 29:33BRIAN DERRICK: Steve Witkoff called Putin a humanitarian while they thanked him.
- 29:37BRIAN DERRICK: No, it's
- 29:37GLENNIS MEAGHER: insane.
- 29:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: So- They're trying to, like, rebrand Putin for him.
- 29:41GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's crazy
- 29:42BRIAN DERRICK: It's really rough.
- 29:43BRIAN DERRICK: Any
- 29:43GLENNIS MEAGHER: others?
- 29:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's depressing.
- 29:44GLENNIS MEAGHER: This one, okay, 'cause I saw this viral clip that's associated with this.
- 29:47GLENNIS MEAGHER: "Abdul El-Sayed highlights Muslim faith in new ad after Republican attacks."
- 29:53ABDUL EL-SAYED: I'm Abdul El-Sayed, man of faith.
- 29:55ABDUL EL-SAYED: That's a good thing.
- 29:56ABDUL EL-SAYED: Faith is a thing there's just too little of in Washington.
- 29:59BRIAN DERRICK: I have not seen the clip.
- 30:01GLENNIS MEAGHER: The clip was, like, a conservative operative, like an agitator, not, like, maybe like a, a beta Nick Shirley.
- 30:09GLENNIS MEAGHER: And-
- 30:09BRIAN DERRICK: Oh, I saw that… GLENNIS MEAGHER: yeah, and he him to say that he would, like, defend and protect and serve the US Constitution, and El-Sayed had a really good response about, like, JFK being asked as the first Catholic president if he was going to listen to the Constitution or the Pope, highlighting that the question was, like, wildly Islamophobic.
- 30:32ABDUL EL-SAYED: You give me your name, I'll answer the question.
- 30:34TOMMY: Okay.
- 30:34TOMMY: Tommy.
- 30:34ABDUL EL-SAYED: Hi, Tommy.
- 30:35ABDUL EL-SAYED: How are you?
- 30:36TOMMY: I'm great.
- 30:37ABDUL EL-SAYED: Are you… Do you know what the Constitution of the United States is?
- 30:40TOMMY: I have one simple question.
- 30:42TOMMY: No.
- 30:42TOMMY: Will you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood?
- 30:43ABDUL EL-SAYED: Sure.
- 30:44ABDUL EL-SAYED: Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:45ABDUL EL-SAYED: Why are you asking the question?
- 30:46TOMMY: Well, because they're a terrorist group.
- 30:49ABDUL EL-SAYED: Okay.
- 30:50ABDUL EL-SAYED: No, no, but what are you implying?
- 30:51ABDUL EL-SAYED: The, the… Do you assume that I wouldn't?
- 30:54TOMMY: Yes.
- 30:54ABDUL EL-SAYED: Why not?
- 30:55TOMMY: Because I have not heard you disavow them yet.
- 30:57ABDUL EL-SAYED: Have you disavowed them?
- 30:57ABDUL EL-SAYED: I haven't heard you disavow them yet.
- 30:59TOMMY: I disavow them.
- 31:00ABDUL EL-SAYED: Do you?
- 31:00ABDUL EL-SAYED: Great.
- 31:01ABDUL EL-SAYED: But here's the thing about it.
- 31:02ABDUL EL-SAYED: You're asking the question because implicitly you assume that I'll have dual loyalties, right?
- 31:09ABDUL EL-SAYED: You assume that somehow I wouldn't disavow.
- 31:12ABDUL EL-SAYED: I'm gonna swear an oath to the Constitution of the United States, and that constitution guarantees us all- … the right to practice whatever faith we want or no, no faith at all.
- 31:20ABDUL EL-SAYED: This is not the first time people have asked those kinds of questions because… Do you know who John F.
- 31:25ABDUL EL-SAYED: Kennedy is?
- 31:27ABDUL EL-SAYED: Do you know who that is, Tommy?
- 31:28TOMMY: I do.
- 31:29ABDUL EL-SAYED: All right.
- 31:30ABDUL EL-SAYED: Uh, do you know what he was asked as the first possible Catholic president of the United States?
- 31:34ABDUL EL-SAYED: What did they ask him?
- 31:36ABDUL EL-SAYED: You don't remember?
- 31:37ABDUL EL-SAYED: You should read history.
- 31:39ABDUL EL-SAYED: Tommy, when he ran for president, he was asked whether or not he was going to have allegiance to the Pope at the Vatican, because, of course, he's Catholic.
- 31:50ABDUL EL-SAYED: And his answer famously was that he was not running to be a Catholic president, he was running to be president and happened to be Catholic I'm not running to be a Muslim senator.
- 32:02ABDUL EL-SAYED: I'm running for US Senate and happen to be Muslim.
- 32:06GLENNIS MEAGHER: Anyway, hope he wins.
- 32:07GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm in Michigan this weekend.
- 32:09GLENNIS MEAGHER: Let's go.
- 32:11BRIAN DERRICK: Are you going to a U of M game?
- 32:12GLENNIS MEAGHER: Hell yeah.
- 32:14BRIAN DERRICK: Oh, wow.
- 32:16GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 32:16BRIAN DERRICK: That's bleak.
- 32:18BRIAN DERRICK: Have fun.
- 32:20GLENNIS MEAGHER: Oh, because you're OSU, so you're like… But one of your best friends went to Michigan.
- 32:25GLENNIS MEAGHER: Two of y- and like a lot of your friends went to Michigan.
- 32:28GLENNIS MEAGHER: Had- Yeah, that- Do you guys talk about that?
- 32:29BRIAN DERRICK: That theater program is really just churning out a bunch of losers.
- 32:34GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 32:34GLENNIS MEAGHER: They're, they're not successful at all.
- 32:36GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's not good.
- 32:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah.
- 32:38GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, UMich.
- 32:39GLENNIS MEAGHER: And you know, I mean, this is a tight race, Abdul El-Sayed.
- 32:42GLENNIS MEAGHER: He only won the primary by what, one, one percentage point?
- 32:45BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 32:46BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah, can't wait to hear about your experience.
- 32:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: Go Wolverines, I guess.
- 32:52GLENNIS MEAGHER: Or blue.
- 32:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: Go Blue
- 32:55BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 32:57BRIAN DERRICK: For our Oath candidate of the week this week, I'm gonna send people directly to our max impact slate.
- 33:05BRIAN DERRICK: It is really the last week that you can donate and have the money get to the campaigns in a way that really matters.
- 33:13BRIAN DERRICK: There will probably be a handful of races that we recommend giving to right up until Election Day where we have confirmation that the money can be spent, but this is really the last window that you have to give that $5, $10, $20.
- 33:25BRIAN DERRICK: We're updating our max impact slate every single day with the latest data of how much money's moving, what other donors are giving, and, uh, that's the smartest place on the internet to give money right now.
- 33:36BRIAN DERRICK: So, uh, head over to oath.vote, give to the top-rated races, and help win everywhere because it is so critical in this cycle that we are funding these down-ballot candidates and not just giving Talarico another $100 million.
- 33:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: And Brian, what would, like, a $200 donation… What does that actually mean?
- 33:57GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, how does it help?
- 33:59BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 33:59BRIAN DERRICK: Most state leg races are just trying to get in front of every voter at least once before they go to the ballot box.
- 34:05BRIAN DERRICK: So it's not like, "Oh, we're gonna air another television ad. We need a million dollars." It's like, "Oh, can we boost the target audience for our digital ads that just introduce the candidate to the voters so that everyone can see it one time- Mm. "… before they vote?" And people are voting actively right now, so that window is, like, very narrow that we have to still move the needle.
- 34:31GLENNIS MEAGHER: Mm-hmm.
- 34:32GLENNIS MEAGHER: Early voting in New York starts October 24th.
- 34:36GLENNIS MEAGHER: October 24th is also, like, nationally Early Vote Day.
- 34:39GLENNIS MEAGHER: So if you haven't voted- Mm. … yet, a lot of states voting is open.
- 34:43GLENNIS MEAGHER: Uh, but if you haven't voted yet, why don't you make a commitment to yourself and vote on October 24th, Early Vote Day.
- 34:51GLENNIS MEAGHER: Get yourself a nice, like, sweet treat.
- 34:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: I-- Brian, I started drinking, uh, like, flavored coffee on this tour as, like, my little, like- I'm gonna get myself something.
- 35:03GLENNIS MEAGHER: And I, I get it.
- 35:04GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, I've had, like, banana bread lattes.
- 35:06GLENNIS MEAGHER: Ew.
- 35:07BRIAN DERRICK: I've had like- That's
- 35:07GLENNIS MEAGHER: horrifying.
- 35:08GLENNIS MEAGHER: No, Brian, they're so, they're so good.
- 35:11GLENNIS MEAGHER: That is fucked up.
- 35:11GLENNIS MEAGHER: Have you ever had, have you ever had like a-
- 35:13BRIAN DERRICK: No.
- 35:13BRIAN DERRICK: No.
- 35:14BRIAN DERRICK: That sounds terrible.
- 35:15GLENNIS MEAGHER: No, it, it tastes just like banana bread.
- 35:17GLENNIS MEAGHER: Or I went to, uh, another place and got like, uh, it was like a, a shake, a shaken espresso brown sugar thing.
- 35:27GLENNIS MEAGHER: It was Starbucks, which whatever, at the airport at 6:30 in the morning.
- 35:32BRIAN DERRICK: At this point, I'm not looking for banana bread lattes, I'm looking for a lobotomy.
- 35:37GLENNIS MEAGHER: Oh, well.
- 35:38BRIAN DERRICK: Like, we are at that point in the cycle that is not gonna do it.
- 35:42BRIAN DERRICK: But I love that for you.
- 35:43BRIAN DERRICK: You gotta get every kick you can until we're over the
- 35:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: finish line.
- 35:49GLENNIS MEAGHER: Over the finish line.
- 35:50GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm just saying to our listeners, like, treat yourself.
- 35:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: It's fall vibes.
- 35:54GLENNIS MEAGHER: Like, go vote and go- Mm-hmm … get a cinnamon roll or some- just, like, make a thing out of it.
- 36:01GLENNIS MEAGHER: Make a little- Absolutely … treat central.
- 36:03GLENNIS MEAGHER: Um, so- I
- 36:04BRIAN DERRICK: like that.
- 36:04BRIAN DERRICK: I like that… GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm gonna get back, or maybe Monday.
- 36:10BRIAN DERRICK: I don't know.
- 36:10BRIAN DERRICK: But by- Yeah … the time we speak again next week, I will have voted.
- 36:15BRIAN DERRICK: Wow.
- 36:16BRIAN DERRICK: Crazy.
- 36:17BRIAN DERRICK: Cra- you're crazy, girl.
- 36:19BRIAN DERRICK: Girl,
- 36:19GLENNIS MEAGHER: you're crazy.
- 36:19GLENNIS MEAGHER: You know me.
- 36:21GLENNIS MEAGHER: Crazy.
- 36:22GLENNIS MEAGHER: I always get a little, like, nervous too.
- 36:23GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm like, "Oh my God," and then I'm like sweating and the thing.
- 36:25GLENNIS MEAGHER: I'm like, "Ugh." Even though I know exactly who and what I'm voting for, I still am just like, don't… I think it's like the Scantron trauma Of our youth
- 36:35BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 36:36BRIAN DERRICK: Totally.
- 36:38BRIAN DERRICK: Um, well, there are right and wrong answers, so make sure you get in there and do it right.
- 36:43BRIAN DERRICK: Yeah.
- 36:44BRIAN DERRICK: Uh, should we send them off with a Good Vibe?
- 36:47GLENNIS MEAGHER: Yeah, we should.
- 36:48BRIAN DERRICK: All right, Glennis, for our Good Vibe this week, we have rock hard data showing that people are jazzed to get out there and vote.
- 36:59BRIAN DERRICK: If you look at the return numbers, the number of people who have voted early, either by mail or in person, in Georgia and Texas in particular, we are looking at a historic election cycle.
- 37:12BRIAN DERRICK: In Harris County, for example, in Texas- Oh … more than 105,000 people voted on the first day- That's crazy … of early voting, and the previous record for a midterm election was 63,000.
- 37:27BRIAN DERRICK: So we're, like, approaching double.
- 37:30BRIAN DERRICK: And it was even beating 2024 turnout, which was a presidential election.
- 37:35BRIAN DERRICK: So truly astronomically high numbers.
- 37:39BRIAN DERRICK: And then if you look at Georgia-
- 37:41GLENNIS MEAGHER: Georgia, Brian, as of Tuesday afternoon, so we record on a Wednesday, over a million people have voted, which is almost 15% of the total active registered voters.
- 37:53GLENNIS MEAGHER: So that's-
- 37:54BRIAN DERRICK: That's-… GLENNIS MEAGHER: pretty good.
- 37:55BRIAN DERRICK: That's crazy.
- 37:57BRIAN DERRICK: That is crazy.
- 37:58BRIAN DERRICK: And with that- Ooh … we will… What?
- 38:01GLENNIS MEAGHER: North Carolina too, sorry.
- 38:02GLENNIS MEAGHER: North Carolina has almost 740,000 ballots cast, which is up more than 38% versus the same point in 2022.
- 38:12GLENNIS MEAGHER: So people are voting.
- 38:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: Crazy.
- 38:13GLENNIS MEAGHER: People are showing up.
- 38:14GLENNIS MEAGHER: But what I wanna say, Brian, don't hear these numbers from us and think, "Okay, we're good." We're not good.
- 38:22GLENNIS MEAGHER: We need every single person to still go vote.
- 38:27BRIAN DERRICK: People are voting.
- 38:30BRIAN DERRICK: Yes, absolutely.
- 38:31BRIAN DERRICK: What we are saying is get out there and do your duty.
- 38:34BRIAN DERRICK: We are voting early in person, but you have so many options, depending on where you live, I guess.
