- 0:00They're going to give him a significant, They're going to
- 0:02have a ton of money to spend. Why not putting in one of the
- 0:05top three offensive players in the league?
- 0:16We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:18can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:21I played eighteen games. You don't see LeBron doing.
- 0:24That a game where you got to go before.
- 0:27I told you, Giant fans, Saquon Barkley and this one, I'm going
- 0:31to Let's do it.
- 1:29You're listening to Jabba and the mouth.
- 1:33Mouth. We are back, ladies and
- 1:40gentlemen. It is a warm, hot, sticky day
- 1:45here in Long Island, New York and around the country.
- 1:48If you're loving the summer, I'm not.
- 1:50We're at the tail end of July. We're heading into August.
- 1:53And yes, a new episode of Jabba in the Mouth.
- 1:56You know who I am. My name is Errol Marx, my Co
- 1:58host Jabba Chamberlain and the speedster executive producer Mr.
- 2:03Aaron Fish, Fisherman on the board.
- 2:05As we all know, Mr. Tommy Poops, our NR, our man, our PR guy,
- 2:10He's in the he's somewhere in the backroom.
- 2:13You know him as the Nith, I know him as Nithin AKA the Joba man,
- 2:18Joba Joba. As we always say, you can go to
- 2:21our website at www.worldwidesportsradio.com.
- 2:25Check out all our shows throughout the week, including
- 2:28the one and only job in the mouth every single Mondays and
- 2:31now Wednesdays at 7:30 PM. All you have to do to tune in
- 2:33and check out our local listings for all our shows is go to our
- 2:36website at WWW, www.worldwidesportsradio.com and
- 2:41you can call us at 631-672-3108. We haven't had a lot of calls
- 2:47over the last couple of weeks, really the last two months.
- 2:50But hey, you know what? It, it lets us get out the
- 2:52content because usually when we have a crazy call, crazy caller
- 2:56like Jeff for, you know, Snug or one of these nut jobs, it
- 3:01usually takes up a lot of content time.
- 3:03I'm just kidding, Jeff. And your random basketball
- 3:05debates with Keith? That's true too.
- 3:07I miss Keith. Keith is working.
- 3:09He's doing well. I heard he's getting healthy.
- 3:11He lost a lot of weight. He's doing a lot of walking.
- 3:13So I'm very happy for Keith. He hasn't really been on the
- 3:17back end of our show for the last couple of weeks, but
- 3:21hopefully soon he'll be joining back in and giving us his rough
- 3:24takes for the New York Knicks. But yeah, it's it's Long Island,
- 3:28New York guys. And if you don't know where
- 3:30we're registering out here, it's it's a very hot and musky place
- 3:36to live right now. This is the worst, worst day,
- 3:40worst year, worst part of the months of this weather.
- 3:44I can't stand it. And and I will say this, I don't
- 3:47even want to talk about the traffic because I, I don't know
- 3:49what is going on with these unions.
- 3:51Because if you're not seeing people stand out with stupid
- 3:55signs about what's going on in our government, know what's
- 3:58going on right now is they have, they shut down lanes and they
- 4:02have all these different, if they're filling in holes or
- 4:06opening up, you know, I, I don't even know what you call it.
- 4:09I, I, it doesn't make any sense. I don't understand why they're
- 4:13closing up different lanes. It starts really through Rocky
- 4:18Point, if you know anything about Long Island all the way
- 4:20down to Manhattan and it's just horrible on 347.
- 4:24So stay, if anybody's driving on the road listening to us right
- 4:27now here in Long Island, do not go on 347 right now.
- 4:31I live right off of 347 and Middle Road is just absolutely
- 4:35horrible too, so it's not my favorite place to live.
- 4:39I do love Long Island, the cultural part of this, you know,
- 4:43this place. I do like the weekends when they
- 4:45have the beer fest. I don't drink, but I like to see
- 4:48people get drunk. They had the what is what did
- 4:52they have this weekend? They had some kind of meat meat
- 4:55thing in in cinema riches. I'm it'll pop into my head, I'll
- 4:58tell you guys, but there was something going on in the riches
- 5:01this weekend and there was some kind of meat fest and Smita, you
- 5:04should be at the meat fest. I I I would be at something like
- 5:07that. I do like BBQ.
- 5:08I don't know what types of meat it was, but I do like my.
- 5:10Barbecue. It wasn't sausage.
- 5:11OK, so it wasn't. That I'm I'm not living to.
- 5:13Just it was ribs, It was a rib contest out there at Cinema
- 5:17Riches and it's all the best ribs of New York and Long
- 5:20Island. So there was like 40-50
- 5:23different rib, you know, rib platforms that were over there
- 5:27and they were pitching. Out their ribs.
- 5:29Pork or spare ribs? Pork or spare ribs?
- 5:31I think it was. I think it was St.
- 5:33Louis. I think it was Saint Louis pork.
- 5:36I think it was all different kinds and they were putting
- 5:38their own sauce to it. Spicy, cold, hot, I mean all
- 5:43different. I say cold because people like
- 5:45their ribs cold. Believe it or not, there are a
- 5:47lot of people that like their ribs cold.
- 5:48So I, I didn't get a chance to, I'm a ribs eater, but I didn't
- 5:52get a chance to go to the ribs, the rib contest this, this year.
- 5:56So unfortunately I am going to the chili contest, which is
- 5:59going to be at Nassau and Nassau, it's going to be right
- 6:03by the Nassau Coliseum. They're doing some kind of like
- 6:06chili contest. I think there's like 150
- 6:09companies that are going to be over there and they're going to,
- 6:12there's going to be a big competition.
- 6:13So I love my chili. So I'm going to have the
- 6:15opportunity to go to that event, maybe actually help host it.
- 6:18So that'll be fun. That'll be at the tail end of
- 6:21the summer. I'll I'll announce it.
- 6:23I think it's at the second week of August, so it'll be right by
- 6:26the National Coliseum if you guys want to go.
- 6:27Also, there's a chocolate place, I forget what they call it.
- 6:32It's like a chocolate event out in Nassau, right by the Nassau
- 6:35Coliseum. I go every single year.
- 6:37I've gone the last three years. And they have a lot of different
- 6:40actors and actresses come and sign autographs there.
- 6:42But they have all the top chocolates, from dark to caramel
- 6:46chocolate all over there. And you get to go into this.
- 6:49You got to pay. It's $30.00.
- 6:50But you, you get a chance to taste all the different
- 6:52chocolate, even pop chocolate. Yeah.
- 6:55Chocolate Expo. Yeah, one day.
- 6:56Last year was pretty. Good.
- 6:57It's fun. It's fun.
- 6:58I always go with Britney. It's, it's a cool time.
- 7:01Yeah. I, I don't like the hot
- 7:02chocolate. They had a bunch of hot
- 7:04chocolate venues over there. I, I didn't, I didn't really
- 7:08like to. I don't like hot chocolate.
- 7:10So I like chocolate. I just don't like hot chocolate.
- 7:12But anyway, Staba, how are you? Good, good.
- 7:15Yeah, the I'm not a big sweets guy, but it'd be fun to.
- 7:18I'd like going to those things. We have the rib one, it's called
- 7:22Rib Fest here. That's always fun.
- 7:24And then you'll get like some of the carnival things, like the
- 7:26spiral spuds. I love those things where they,
- 7:29you know, just basically spin it on a drill and then and then fry
- 7:31it. So yeah, we, yeah, they do
- 7:33concerts with it too. So I love those chili.
- 7:36Chili. I can get down with.
- 7:38I'd. I'd like all kinds of chili.
- 7:40It does not matter. I know some people prefer the
- 7:44Texas style with no beans. Some people like beans.
- 7:48I like it with anything. I think like a chili dog.
- 7:51Yeah, really. There's no beans and a chili
- 7:54dog. I mean, that's just my opinion.
- 7:56Fish. I do Denver green chili.
- 7:59I I first time I went there, somebody told me to try it
- 8:02because I gave them like, I was like, I love chili and cinnamon
- 8:05rolls. And they you guys gave the same
- 8:07response as everybody usually does, like seriously.
- 8:10And Scott's at Pappy's bar in Saint Louis Barbecue.
- 8:14That's what I love about BBQ though, and food in general.
- 8:17Like it tastes like regionally where it's at, like Saint Louis,
- 8:20Memphis, like Texas, like it's all different.
- 8:24But yeah, Den Philly is very, very underrated.
- 8:26Do you, do you, I know you guys have saw this.
- 8:28Do you get down with Cincinnati chili?
- 8:30I'll eat anything. I know everybody keeps saying we
- 8:32had somebody actually come on the show talking about
- 8:35Cincinnati chili, but I I've had it I think once.
- 8:39But I like old chili. It doesn't matter where it's
- 8:41from. I I know each each place has a
- 8:44hotter chili. I know Saint Louis chili is
- 8:46very, very hot. So I've had some of that chili,
- 8:49but I don't really like it hot. I like it mediocre.
- 8:52I like it medium. I don't really like it too hot
- 8:55because I don't want it to burn the hell out of my throat.
- 8:57I can't enjoy the chili. So I love all different kinds of
- 9:01chilies. I like more beans in my chili,
- 9:04obviously, because it makes me fart, it makes me want to go to
- 9:07the bathroom. And that's why I eat chili,
- 9:08because if I'm constipated and I need to let one go, I eat some
- 9:12chili and it'll definitely let me one go.
- 9:14Jabba Jabba, my friend, let me one my my friend, actually one
- 9:17dude, he grew up, he grew up in Kentucky, but he he grew up a
- 9:20Cincinnati sports fan. He's a Bengals fan and he was
- 9:23mentioning that he's like he likes Skyline.
- 9:26I think it is, but can't stand the other one.
- 9:27Gold Star I think is the other one.
- 9:28Or yeah, so and now you can buy them out of the cans.
- 9:33Yeah, I, I, that to me, I, I don't, I'm not eating chili.
- 9:38Let's it's freshly made. If you got to get a crock pot
- 9:41out and I'm I could because chili could sit in your
- 9:44refrigerator for a week and you can eat it all week long
- 9:47depending on how you close up and make sure that's wrapped up
- 9:50very, very well because you don't want any germs or any of
- 9:53that. If you're making it yourself, do
- 9:54you make it spicy? I don't I actually don't make
- 9:57chili. Brittany makes the chili.
- 9:59She's really good. She makes a really, really good
- 10:01chili and it's it's like medium. She does add a little spice to
- 10:04it. I don't care if it's a little
- 10:06spicy. If it's really spicy, I can't
- 10:08eat it. So and then I got to drink a lot
- 10:10of water or whatever juice. So I remember that I.
- 10:14Remember that? Remember the weekend I had to
- 10:16stay in the during the snowstorm at your house and you drank an
- 10:18entire carton of juice with that chili?
- 10:20It was horrible. I mean, she spiked it out.
- 10:23Man, she really burned the hell out of my throat.
- 10:26She admitted that she put, I forget what she put in it, but
- 10:29she put some kind of spice pepper in it and it really
- 10:33burned the hell out of my throat.
- 10:34She usually cuts it down where it's not.
- 10:37It like melts into the chili. She didn't.
- 10:39She put him in like really and Speedy likes it.
- 10:42So Speedy was guzzling down and he wasn't even drinking any of
- 10:45that. I was sweating.
- 10:47By the time I was done with my chili, I was sweating.
- 10:50That's how it looked like it came out of the shower.
- 10:52Speedy sitting there. I remember, I remember, I.
- 10:55Ate like a bunch of tacos with that chili and whatever else he
- 10:58was making that and like Arrow ate a good amount, but like I
- 11:02think he I forget if it was Snapple or lemonade or
- 11:04something. You chugged the entire.
- 11:05Thing I did, it was it was really, really hot.
- 11:08And when it's really, really hot, I can't enjoy it.
- 11:11I like the taste, like Speedy says, it's the taste.
- 11:13It's the, it's the what do you, what do you say?
- 11:16It's it's flavor, the flavor. That's what it is.
- 11:19It's got to have this beautiful soft feeling right down the pit
- 11:23of your stomach. The UFC 318 feature several main
- 11:27card fights that came down to unanimous decisions.
- 11:31Daniel Rodriguez versus Kevin Holland, well it obviously
- 11:34defeats and beats Kevin Holland in a welterweight main card
- 11:38fight event, winning by unanimous decision in the third
- 11:41round. Paulo Costas and beat Roman
- 11:46Koppel off in a Co main event, also winning in a third round
- 11:50unanimous decision. Honestly, this card was just
- 11:54absolutely putrid. It was bad.
- 11:57And, and I'll say this and I I'll finish up my monologue
- 11:59because I, I know Speedy put this.
- 12:01I don't know why you added the top thing, because nobody cared
- 12:04about those fights, including yours truly.
- 12:07Anybody that has watched the UFC over the years, that there was
- 12:11nothing that was exciting throughout that card, even even
- 12:15through through the early night of those fights, the
- 12:18preliminaries. The preliminaries were horrible.
- 12:21What really stood out to me was Dustin Poirier's farewell tour
- 12:25throughout Louisiana. And that's what everybody was
- 12:28looking and they made an extravaganza.
- 12:30I got to give Dana White a little bit of credit for what he
- 12:32did from Thursday night all the way into Saturday.
- 12:35The weigh insurance, having fans get a chance to go to the
- 12:37stadium. There had so many different
- 12:39autograph signings where some of the fighters were lined up.
- 12:42And it was some of the some of those events were actually free
- 12:46where a lot of people got a chance to meet some of the
- 12:49fighters and got a chance to meet Dustin Poirier.
- 12:51The main event of the night featured Dustin Poirier and Max
- 12:55Holloway. The fight was Poirier's final
- 12:57fight as he announced his retirement.
- 13:00After the fight, Holloway beat Poirier by unanimous decision in
- 13:04the fifth round, and Poirier called out all three judges for
- 13:08their cards, their scorecards. Holloway said he respects
- 13:12Poirier as a fighter, but says he would never get a whole card
- 13:17built around his retirement like Poirier did.
- 13:21Holloway now has a 27 and eight career record and moves to 5th
- 13:27in the current UFC lightweight ranking.
- 13:30Poria finished his UFC career with a 30 and 10 record with 15
- 13:37of those. Fifteen of those thirty wins by
- 13:40knockout, 8 by submission and seven by decision.
- 13:44And Speedy loves to put these numbers and, and nobody really
- 13:47cares about. All they care about is the 30
- 13:49and 10 record. And I want to bring Jake in
- 13:51because I know he's a real big UFC fan.
- 13:54So he can join us and, and we can talk about this fight.
- 13:57The the card was horrible and Dana White, I know he wanted to
- 14:01put it together and he wanted this this fight to stand out
- 14:05from all the rest and it did. This was the only fight that
- 14:07anybody cared about throughout throughout the night.
- 14:11And even the way ends, the way the fans really just love Dustin
- 14:15Poirier. He's from Louisiana.
- 14:17He, he's really repped Louisiana for so many years.
- 14:20And it, it's it he stood for something the brand of obviously
- 14:26a place like New Orleans, a play.
- 14:28And we were there at the Super Bowl and, and all the fans
- 14:30wanted to meet him. We even wanted to interview him.
- 14:33He was just too busy jumping from table to table.
- 14:36Max Holloway to me has a chance to continue moving forward as
- 14:42one of the the elite fighters in the UFC and he is obviously the
- 14:46lightweight division and he could fight in multiple
- 14:49divisions. This guy is one of the best
- 14:51boxers in the UFC, one of the best stand up fighters I've seen
- 14:54in a very, very long time. Problem with Max Holloway, he's
- 14:57he goes on these he goes on these tendencies where he is
- 15:01he's a dominant fighter for three fights and then he loses 1
- 15:04bad. Fight.
- 15:05Yeah, he'll lose 1 bad fight and then everybody thinks his career
- 15:10is over and then he comes back and he, he dominates again and
- 15:13he kind of hides, you know what he did in the fight before the
- 15:16two fights before that. Max Holloway is, is one of those
- 15:20tough guys. He could fight, he could stand
- 15:21up with anybody. I, I, I would love to see him
- 15:24and just engage again. I think that would be fun.
- 15:26These guys love to beat the hell out of each other and, and those
- 15:29guys are stand up fighters. And that's what you want to see.
- 15:32You want to you want to go out all all out brawls, warriors
- 15:36like that. Those two guys are stand up
- 15:38fighters. They like to beat the hell out
- 15:39of each other. I thought it was a good fight.
- 15:42I just thought the way it was the build up the BMF title.
- 15:46Nobody cares about the BMF title.
- 15:48It was really creative for Nate Diaz.
- 15:50Why? Because Nate Diaz wanted the
- 15:53bad. And I don't know if anybody
- 15:54knows what the title stands for. Bad motherfucker.
- 15:57That's what it stands. That's what it sounds.
- 15:58That's what it stands for the BMF title.
- 16:00So, and the fact is Nate Diaz, ever since he lost the title, he
- 16:06lost the title pretty fast. I think he lost it against Max
- 16:08Holloway, if I'm not mistaken. I think he lost it against him.
- 16:11I'm not sure. So don't quote me on that.
- 16:13But he lost ever since he lost the title, nobody cares about
- 16:16the title. Nobody can give a crap about the
- 16:18title, but it it stands for Holloway.
- 16:21Holloway is he's a tough SOP. He's a he's a great stand up
- 16:24fighter. I want to see Max Holloway get
- 16:26into a ring against the champion.
- 16:28That's what I want to see. Max Holloway has not been in a
- 16:31ring with the champion for a while.
- 16:33And, and again, this is not not a real championship.
- 16:37And Poirier, and by the way, I want to give a shout out to the
- 16:39UFC for doing what they did at UFC 318 after the fight, letting
- 16:44Poirier put his gloves in the middle of the Octagon, giving
- 16:48him a chance to really say his goodbyes.
- 16:51This is something I thought Dustin Poirier should have
- 16:54walked away after he beat Conor McGregor the second time.
- 16:58I and I remember when he Conor McGregor broke his leg on his
- 17:01when he when he kicked him and he broke his leg after that.
- 17:04Poirier has not been the same firefighter since then.
- 17:07He really hasn't. He he's got a lot of money
- 17:09invested in his hot sauce. He's doing very, very well with
- 17:12his as an entrepreneur. I he he's going to make his
- 17:15millions just like Conor McGregor is because of who he is
- 17:18and what he stands for as an American, American known
- 17:22fighter. I just think when you look at
- 17:24this fight, Max Holloway and him, I wouldn't, if I was Poria,
- 17:29I would have never fought Max Holloway as my final fight.
- 17:31I would have waited until something came up, maybe against
- 17:35Gage or something. Because I, I just think Max
- 17:37Holloway is just still a good fighter and he's, Max Holloway
- 17:42could still fight a champion. He still could be the champion
- 17:45of the world in his division, in the lightweight division.
- 17:47So Poria is just, he's not there anymore mentally.
- 17:51He's not there anymore. He just had his daughter, what I
- 17:54think his daughter is like 6 or 7 years old now.
- 17:56He's he wants to be a family man now, I think.
- 18:00I think the fact is the UFC was trying to find something to
- 18:03stabilize UFC 318. There was just nothing there.
- 18:08And I don't want to talk about the undercards because they
- 18:10weren't good. Paulo Costa, I mean, Apollo
- 18:14Costa is a good fighter. He's not a great fighter.
- 18:16And, and, and he had what? What was the last thought, Jake?
- 18:18You remember the last championship fight Paulo Costa
- 18:21had was like a couple of years ago, right?
- 18:23Well, he was banned. He was banned for a while.
- 18:25Yeah, he fought a. Champion, I'm not sure the last
- 18:27it's been a long time. I mean, honestly, like the last
- 18:31couple fights Palo Costa had, he's been like, it's been really
- 18:33underwhelming. Like this was very shocking, A
- 18:35great performance, honestly, by Paulo Costa.
- 18:37He kind of just dominated all over Roman Kapalov.
- 18:40Like he kind of looked like he was a little bit timid and Paula
- 18:43Costa was really aggressive and it was really impressive fight
- 18:45for him, but like it was weird. We haven't really seen that
- 18:47Paula Costa in a long time. Hall.
- 18:49And again, going back to the UFCII, just think they're trying
- 18:53to bring these guys back. They come, they disappear or and
- 18:57Paula Costa has been fighting over the last last couple of
- 19:00late last two years, but he disappeared for like a year
- 19:02because he was suspended. I think a steroid.
- 19:04I think he was doing steroids. He was caught with steroids and
- 19:08the last time I remember he fought, he was a title fight.
- 19:10He got his butt whipped and that was the last time I remember.
- 19:13Paulo Costa was actually, I actually paid attention to what
- 19:16Paulo Costa is doing. This was a good fight.
- 19:18Roman is upping. The last time I just checked it
- 19:21actually was it was back in 2020 against Israel Audit.
- 19:24When is he kind of was the man he just dominated?
- 19:26Kicked the crap, kicked the crap out of him.
- 19:29And I remember that fight. He.
- 19:31That when he came out, is that when he came out with the
- 19:33choreographed dance, right? It might have been, yeah, I
- 19:36think it might have been that fight.
- 19:37I just think the UFC is they reached for UFC318I love what
- 19:42they did before the fight, the weigh insurance, how he made it
- 19:45an extravaganza. Louisiana.
- 19:47I love that Dana White did that for Thursday into Saturday.
- 19:50He had all these different events in the stadium.
- 19:53He had all the different young kids get a chance to meet and
- 19:56and the autograph signings. Adiyadi, I forget what they
- 19:59called it. They were doing something on
- 20:00Friday night. Which it had all the fans
- 20:04actually get to get to go and actually stand in the Octagon
- 20:07where where the fighters were. Going to stand fan fest right?
- 20:10It was like a fan. I don't even know what they
- 20:11called it. They didn't call it a fan fest.
- 20:13They call it something else. But he he, I thought they did a
- 20:16really, really good job when it came to promoting it all the way
- 20:20to the fight. I just thought the card was
- 20:22crap. It wasn't something like UFC
- 20:243/3/17 was really. It was a really good guard that
- 20:27was a fun every single fight really.
- 20:30And the the two main events, the the Co main event and the main
- 20:33event was sensational. I thought it was very well put
- 20:35together. And that's the problem right now
- 20:37with the UFC. And I'll say it again, when you
- 20:39look at the fights, there's there's a lot of older fighters
- 20:43that are trying to make a statement again and come back
- 20:46and, and there's a couple of old fighters that are champions.
- 20:48And then these young up and coming fighters, they lose a
- 20:51fight and they fall off, you know what I mean?
- 20:53And then, and then the UFC is trying to find the next Conor
- 20:56McGregor and, and all that other stuff.
- 20:58It it, it's a problem because they hype these guys up and then
- 21:01they go right after they lose, they bring them right back down
- 21:05and, and again, the UFC still doesn't have a guy that really
- 21:08stands out. Jon Jones stepped away from the
- 21:10UFC. See for good now.
- 21:12So where are they going? The heavyweight division, who's
- 21:15who's an up and coming superstar in the heavyweight division?
- 21:19Does somebody move up in the the light heavyweight division to to
- 21:23try to compete with some of these other The other the 2 who
- 21:26are the two fighters right now? The English kid who wanted to
- 21:30fight Jon Jones, Who was the other?
- 21:32I'm sorry, Absolutely. I mean, they definitely want Tom
- 21:35Aspinall to be their guy. I mean.
- 21:36Aspinall said he might drop weight to go into a 5.
- 21:39That's what I also heard. Aspinall might want to fight at
- 21:422:05 because there's nobody in there that.
- 21:45Would be a big dropper, Tom. He's a big boy.
- 21:47He's 240. He's.
- 21:49Yeah, so I think he kind of wants to defend his belt
- 21:52probably for a little bit because they were waiting on
- 21:54that Jon Jones fight for forever.
- 21:55I think they've said they might have agreed to a fight with him
- 21:58and Cyril. God, I don't know if it's 100%
- 22:00confirmed yet, but I think that's probably the match up
- 22:01they're targeting. So I think Tom's probably just
- 22:04going to be ready to stay in his division.
- 22:05So, you know, I mean, Jon Jones continues to control everybody
- 22:08saying he's back in the testing pool.
- 22:09But, you know, who knows? He's not fighting again.
- 22:12He's never, he's never going to go away.
- 22:15Even when he was. Even when he was away, because
- 22:17he had to be, he still somehow stayed and.
- 22:21Relevant when? It comes down to it, Dana gave
- 22:23him every every opportunity to to do everything and basically
- 22:28could have handed him over the damn company at at some point.
- 22:31But the card obviously underwhelming.
- 22:33I think there was like you could have gone two ways.
- 22:35You could have basically told and put a card together and be
- 22:38like, hey, this is kind of a last hurrah.
- 22:41But I think that was like, well, if, if he's going to get one,
- 22:44then I deserve one at this point.
- 22:45So I think it was more like the younger and not big names where
- 22:50they got a little bit more exposure to, you know, try and
- 22:53build it out. But yeah, I, I think it was I, I
- 22:57wouldn't say it was a complete loss.
- 23:00I mean, if if we're ranking it from A to F, I'm going to give
- 23:03it AC minus. But that, that's, that's the
- 23:06thing when when you're looking at these guys like Daniel
- 23:09Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez is a good fighter.
- 23:11He's a great fighter. But Kevin Holland, we're we're,
- 23:14we're bragging about Kevin Holland.
- 23:15He beat Kevin. Holland I do think though, like
- 23:17you're right, like the star power was lacking in like it was
- 23:20a card built for Dustin Poirier. It was in New Orleans, close to
- 23:23Lafayette, LA's hometown. But I do think it did over
- 23:26perform a little like it was under under, you know, under
- 23:29promised, over delivered. Like if you did live, you did
- 23:31watch that fight. Kevin Holland, Daniel Rodriguez.
- 23:33That was a great fight and I did I think that Kevin Holland, you
- 23:36honestly could have gone either way.
- 23:37It was a really solid, good fight.
- 23:39And you know, other than that, like again, like I think.
- 23:42Did you hear, did you hear they did you hear how much they they
- 23:46sold 17,000 tickets and the fight brought in more money than
- 23:50any of the cards over the last past six months this car.
- 23:55That's where it's at, yeah. This card.
- 23:58If you get like the right, they built it around Dustin Poirier.
- 24:01So obviously was going to have the huge pull and draw of that
- 24:03kind of like you would. Spend $450 for a, what do they
- 24:08call it, Nosebleed ticket to see Dustin Poirier.
- 24:11I will say you'll see, I don't know how they do.
- 24:13They do get people in there for those crazy pricey tickets like
- 24:16it's it's a very hot commodity and even for like you see like a
- 24:19lackluster card, they have the fans like they get people to
- 24:22want to pull in and buy for those seats.
- 24:24I also heard over the years that Dana White was buying the
- 24:26tickets and then raffling them off to people.
- 24:29I've heard stories about that many, many times about Dana
- 24:32White and Danny. I'm not taking shots at Dana
- 24:34White. I think he's a good businessman.
- 24:36The guy knows how to make money. You can't really attack anything
- 24:40that he's done for mixed martial arts in the UFC.
- 24:42There's no way you can attack what he's done.
- 24:44He's brought a ton of money in and he's he actually helped sell
- 24:47the product, which he made I think $250 million off of.
- 24:51And he honestly a guy that was a president out, I, if I'm not
- 24:54mistaken was a finance guy and was brought in to really just
- 24:59help build the product in the finances he wanted to get.
- 25:01Started in promoting. Boxing, Yeah.
- 25:04And he he was a fight. He was a boxer.
- 25:06Actually. I remember when Ortiz wanted to
- 25:08fight him and he he was he was trying to cut weight and Ortiz
- 25:11back to actually Ortiz backed out of the fight when Dana White
- 25:14wanted to fight him. So the the whole fact here is
- 25:17the UFC is trying to build their product now that Conor McGregor
- 25:22is no longer going to be about yeah, I don't even know if he's
- 25:25going to fight in bare knuckles. He he did sign a contract to
- 25:28fight three fights at bare knuckles, But when's that going
- 25:30to happen? It seems like he goes, he
- 25:33promotes it, and we don't see him there.
- 25:35It's. Free the problem.
- 25:36I think he's there just to be a commissioner.
- 25:38I don't think he's ever going to step into another unless it's
- 25:40UFC, but even that. It's just the fence.
- 25:43I think Conor's done fighting, I don't think.
- 25:46Why should he have to fight? No, yeah.
- 25:48I mean, I mean, the only reason I would say is because he is a
- 25:51showman and like going out on the losses that he did,
- 25:54especially breaking his leg to Dustin Poirier.
- 25:56And like, there's that still is that beef between him and
- 25:58Michael Chandler. And I know it's played out all
- 26:00the time because Michael Chandler just continues to call
- 26:02out Conor McGregor. But like it it would be kind of
- 26:05shitty if like that's the lasting memory we have of Conor
- 26:07McGregor's him breaking his leg and just like looking sad and
- 26:10kind of like it's it's just the former champion, how great he
- 26:13was. Like I would like to see him one
- 26:15more time just to get that bad image out of my head.
- 26:18I don't care, honestly. I've had my problems with Conor
- 26:21McGregor for years on social media.
- 26:23I have for years. And and I don't think people
- 26:26understand. I had a, an MMA show which I
- 26:28want to bring back and at least do it once it once a month.
- 26:31But it's, it's caged in MMA. And I, I used to talk so much
- 26:35about Conor McGregor. I had a line of guys that came
- 26:39on the show and Conor McGregor's team actually attacked me,
- 26:43threatened me and told me all this crap.
- 26:45I was at the Barclays Center when he was through that, that
- 26:49chair in through the window. I was right there yelling at him
- 26:53and screaming. I'm in the back end.
- 26:54So he's to me, he's an immature ass.
- 26:57But nevertheless, he's a showman.
- 26:59And you know what's that itself? The UFC don't have that anymore.
- 27:01They just don't have those guys. They have two or three really
- 27:05good fighters that you're we've seen and we, we spoke about on
- 27:08this show. But they're, they're actually
- 27:11besides the, the Italian kid besides him, they're a lot of
- 27:15them are in their mid 30s. How much time do they have left
- 27:19as fighters? And we were, we were talking
- 27:20about some of these 19 year olds coming up.
- 27:22Now they have the the next ultimate fighter.
- 27:24They're trying to find the next guy.
- 27:25I I mean, Matt Serra was doing something on YouTube and
- 27:28traveling around the country in the world trying to find the
- 27:31next big fighter. They just can't.
- 27:33Find that show was entertaining though, yes.
- 27:35It was, of course. It was.
- 27:36It's always in it to entertainment.
- 27:38I The problem right now is the UFC.
- 27:41There's just not enough guys that want to fight mixed martial
- 27:44arts now because there's so much money in boxing still.
- 27:46These young guys, these young kids, it's better off being a
- 27:49prize fighter. If you fight 5 or 6 prize
- 27:52fighting fights, you're going to bring in more money.
- 27:54And those five fights then you'll probably bring in your
- 27:57whole UFC career. Even if you make it to the UFC.
- 28:00That's the problem. There's just no money in it.
- 28:02There's no players union. They're not protecting.
- 28:05Do you know that the undercard fighters make $10,000, the
- 28:09undercard fighters make $10,000. So they're training their asses
- 28:13off for three to six months to get into the rain for 10 or get
- 28:17into the Octagon for $10,000. You got to pay your trainers,
- 28:20you got to pay all your dues and all that.
- 28:22Yes, you have sponsors and all that other stuff.
- 28:25In the end, how much are you really bringing in, in a fight,
- 28:28on an undercard fight? And I know a couple of USC or
- 28:31former UFC fighters. I speak to them all the time.
- 28:34I was just at an event, a backyard event.
- 28:37I knew 2 UFC fighters that were invited to and I, I sat with
- 28:41them and had a good conversation about the UFC and what the UFC
- 28:44did to them. It did help them with their
- 28:46businesses when they walked away from the UFC because of who they
- 28:49were. But it, it's also hurt them
- 28:51because they could never bring in money to support their
- 28:54families. One of them actually got a
- 28:56divorce to their first wife. Now he's obviously remarried.
- 28:59But it it's a big problem the UFC needs to figure out to
- 29:03protect their, their, their, their fighters and, and bring
- 29:07again another way where they can get insurance for life when they
- 29:10walk away from the sport. Because a lot of these guys
- 29:12after they walk away from the sport, they're permanently
- 29:14injured and they can't, some of them can't even walk anymore.
- 29:17So did you hear about Randy Couture?
- 29:18What happened to Randy Couture recently, Randy?
- 29:21Couture, that was. That was scary.
- 29:23Randy Couture is racing cars. That's what he's doing.
- 29:28He does car racing and all that other stuff.
- 29:30He got into a car accident and he was rushed to the hospital,
- 29:35almost died in the car accident. He's not paralyzed, but his
- 29:40whole face got messed up. Horrible.
- 29:42It was. It's a horrible and there's
- 29:43pictures all over social media. If you you got and Randy Couture
- 29:46is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
- 29:49And Jabba, you probably met Randy Couture.
- 29:51He's a he's a great person, a great guy.
- 29:54You love those fights. I think it was it was a solid
- 29:56fight. Again, it was built around
- 29:57Dustin and Max, you know, especially Dustin Poirier
- 29:59hanging up the gloves. He pretty much knew like that
- 30:02was the end. And I know you touched on an
- 30:03arrow at the beginning. He called out the judges a
- 30:05little bit, thought that like, you know, maybe the decisions
- 30:07and weren't quite how he thought it was.
- 30:09He thought was a closer fight. Looking back at it, I'm like,
- 30:12I've seen these statistics. Max Holloway threw 378 total
- 30:16strikes. Like that's that's crazy.
- 30:18And like he landed 201 of them. And then Dustin threw 255 and he
- 30:23landed 109. So, you know, Max, his volume
- 30:27was unbelievable. Like that's where he won the
- 30:29fight. Like I think Dustin did land a
- 30:31lot of good significant tricks. He stung Max a lot.
- 30:33And he did add to the fact that, you know, now he he and Elliot
- 30:36Zipporia are the only few guys that dropped Max Holloway.
- 30:38But other than round two, I think Dustin, he just, you know,
- 30:43he really didn't have it. Like he he what he looked a
- 30:45little bit older. I think, like you say, like
- 30:47mentally he's not quite there. Like he knows he wanted to hang
- 30:50it up. Like I thought pretty much his
- 30:52last great fight was is against Islam Hachev.
- 30:55Like he gave it to Islam. Like, you know, Islam won that
- 30:58fight definitively. But he, like Dustin, made it so
- 31:01difficult on him and I think he put up the best performance so
- 31:04far. I'm trying to defeat is Lama hot
- 31:06chef, but you know Max like obviously look, he already lost
- 31:09three times the Volcanovsky and I think in his mind he's like
- 31:11there's no, I'm not letting somebody 3 peat sweep me again.
- 31:14So Max got his get back. You got the win.
- 31:16And you know now for lightweight, it's completely and
- 31:19utterly chaos as well, because now you have Max right back into
- 31:23the picture. So personally, what I would
- 31:24think you should do is I would probably do Armand Saruki and
- 31:27versus Justin Gaichi, and then you'd probably do maybe Max
- 31:31Holloway versus Patty Pimblet. You also have Dan Hooker on
- 31:33standby and then of course Charles Oliver when he gets
- 31:35back. I wouldn't I wouldn't put Patty
- 31:38against Max Holloway. Patty's right now growing and
- 31:41you get into the ring with Max Holloway, he can end Patty.
- 31:44Patty's going to start to stand with him and Max Holloway is
- 31:46just too strong. He throws too many punches.
- 31:48If if the UFC is trying to build Patty Pimlet into this superstar
- 31:53fighter, you don't want to put him in the in the Octagon with a
- 31:56hard punching just. Play Michael Chandler, though,
- 31:58and Michael Chandler kind of has been like.
- 32:00Come on, Michael Chandler. I mean, really, if you if you
- 32:03listen, though, like he's kind of been the gatekeeper to those
- 32:05like elite fighters, like where he's he's beating all the guys
- 32:08like underneath below him. But when he fights the top in
- 32:11like the Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaichi, Charles Oliveira,
- 32:13Michael Chandler has kind of been that litmus test and Patty
- 32:16just crushed him. Like I know what you're saying,
- 32:18like right, he's not quite have the luster of those top elite
- 32:21and guys, but you know, if you want to see what Patty's got,
- 32:25you got to and he wants to fight for the title.
- 32:27He's not ready for Ilia yet, but you got to see what he does
- 32:30against one of those top end guys.
- 32:31So maybe maybe not Max, but Dan Hooker.
- 32:33I think that would. Probably be Dan Hooker.
- 32:35Tan Hooker makes a lot of sense. I would not put him against Max
- 32:38Holloway. Max Holloway throws too many
- 32:39punches and Patty takes too many chances.
- 32:42And Matt, all Max Holloway has to do is lay on one.
- 32:45He's going to knock him the hell out.
- 32:46And you don't want if you're building Patty Pimlet in up to
- 32:49this. And I like Patty.
- 32:50I think Patty's a showman. I like him so much more than
- 32:53Conor McGregor and what he does and all these other big mouth
- 32:57guys that go out there and open their mouth because Patty
- 33:00actually is a straightforward guy.
- 33:02He's going to talk crap, but he's going to go out there and
- 33:04produce it. And and he doesn't in such a
- 33:07proper way after the fights. He he respects the fighters.
- 33:10He doesn't throw any of the fighters under the bus like
- 33:12Conor McGregor did over the years.
- 33:13And even what's his name again, Mr. Puffy hair, cock, cock and
- 33:18balls over there. Sean O'Malley, who just doesn't
- 33:21shut his mouth even after losing again and getting his butt
- 33:25whipped, he's still opening his mouth saying the things that
- 33:27he's saying. So Sean needs to step away and
- 33:30and figure out a weight class that actually fits him.
- 33:33Maybe go up a little bit of weight, even though it's it
- 33:36usually when you go up and weight, it's not a beneficial
- 33:39thing. But Sean likes to throw punches.
- 33:41Maybe he needs to get into get into a weight class where
- 33:44there's more stand up fighters than ground fighting fighter
- 33:46fighters, because we saw he can't handle that.
- 33:48But like you were saying, I would not put Patty against Max
- 33:52Holloway. I just, I understand what you're
- 33:54saying. If he wants to fight the best,
- 33:56he's got to go through the best. It just doesn't make sense.
- 33:58Patty is a 28 year old kid growing into his man body.
- 34:02I just don't put him against Max Holloway is the type of guy he
- 34:06would love to go against Patty, first of all, because it'll be a
- 34:09main event fight. And Patty's the kind of guy that
- 34:12open his mouth to somebody like Max Holloway.
- 34:14Max Holloway is, he's a quiet guy.
- 34:16He's just going to go out. You know, he's going to throw a
- 34:17lot of punches and try to knock you the hell out.
- 34:19And I don't think. I think that Patty would have it
- 34:23pretty good. He does have a really good
- 34:24ground game and a good submission game where he would
- 34:27not want to trade with Max Holley.
- 34:29And you saw at the end of that fight too, but Dustin Porgy and
- 34:32actually pointed to the center of the ring like Dustin, like he
- 34:35said, like, yeah, fuck that. He wanted no part of Max Holley.
- 34:38He clinched immediately. I was like, you know what, man?
- 34:40Let's just go out like he. Throws hard.
- 34:41I heard, I heard. No, he was he was piercing him
- 34:44up pretty good. Like he we wanted no part of
- 34:46that at all. So I mean, but like I hear what
- 34:48you're saying, like you trying to build him up as a star.
- 34:51So maybe you don't want to, but like, I mean, who's?
- 34:53Who's better than him when it comes to a fan favorite,
- 34:55honestly. Yeah.
- 34:57Taporia, Taporia is a nice kid. He's small.
- 35:01I I love what Taporia does and he's he's probably the best
- 35:03fighter right now. The UFC has to provide these
- 35:06guys these, these small fighters that they have, they're small.
- 35:09You know, you Max Holloway, he's a he's a big lightweight, he's a
- 35:13big man. Has anybody seen Max Holloway in
- 35:16person? He's tall.
- 35:17He's not a small guy. He cuts a lot of.
- 35:20Weight. And he's tall.
- 35:21I've I've seen him, not like up close, but yeah, he's taller
- 35:25than you think. Yes, he's he's taller and and
- 35:27again when you see him, Dusta Pouria is a great fighter.
- 35:30There's no question he's a stand up fighter.
- 35:31He likes to Max Holloway's just a way better stand up fighter.
- 35:35I don't think there's a stand up fighter right now in the UFC
- 35:38head to He's the. Best box.
- 35:46Justin Gage. He did put up the fight, but he
- 35:48did get his lights turned. Yeah, he did.
- 35:49He was. He was willing to boxing, but it
- 35:51didn't end very well. Well, Temporia definitely will
- 35:53as well. And the only reason why I say
- 35:56that Max should fight someone like Patty, like get like a
- 35:59young hungry competitors, because you ever talk about the
- 36:01fact of the rematch, like he should not fight Ilia yet as a
- 36:04rematch and because, you know, you talked about it as well.
- 36:06And still the BMF champion. Like I know the title wasn't on
- 36:10the line, but again, it's a gimmick belt.
- 36:11And like he got knocked out by Elliot Sapore.
- 36:13For him to then say, like, I think I believe that was the
- 36:16first time that anyone's ever actually defended the BMF title
- 36:18because when Jorge Masvidal won the the inaugural title from
- 36:22Nate Diaz, I don't think he ever defended it.
- 36:24Like he lost to Kamaro Usman and then Kamaro Usman never was the
- 36:27BMF champion and. Then that's right, I forgot who.
- 36:30B and then Kamaro Usman, then he you know, he lost to Leon
- 36:33Edwards. Leon Edwards never became the
- 36:35BMF champion and then they just decided to put the fight between
- 36:38Justin Gaichie and Dustin Poirier and then Justin Gaichie
- 36:41beat Dustin Poirier and then you know, they did it for Max
- 36:44Holloway and Max Holloway won the title.
- 36:46But like, you know, you could have done a double fight that
- 36:48would have been crazy if you had the featherweight title and the
- 36:50BMF title. So Ilia technically is the
- 36:52champion, but again, it's a gimmick belt.
- 36:55It doesn't really mean anything. It's kind of just there to to,
- 36:57you know, there'd be like, oh, here's a little bit more of a
- 36:59shy the way. I want to cut you off.
- 37:01I want to give it Manny Pack fought this weekend and I
- 37:04thought he was absolutely robbed.
- 37:06He Bareos, he beat Bareos. I really believe he won the
- 37:10belt. He got absolutely screwed again
- 37:13and I've seen this with Manny Pacquiao.
- 37:15It's a shame. Manny Pacquiao comes back.
- 37:17He wants to win the belt. He wants to be the oldest
- 37:19champion in boxing history. He goes out there and loses a
- 37:23very, very close fight, that fight and then Lucic.
- 37:26Did anybody watch the Lucic fight?
- 37:29Lucic is now the undisputed heavyweight champion of the
- 37:31world. Very well deserved.
- 37:34I think he's the best fight, best heavyweight champion we've
- 37:36seen. I know everybody's going to
- 37:38think I'm crazy. He's the best heavyweight
- 37:40champion we've seen since Sprint.
- 37:43Lennox Lewis. I would say this the last time
- 37:46I've seen the heavyweight division have just a done and
- 37:49everybody says Vitali Klitschko and how great Vitali Klitschko,
- 37:52the the Vladimir Klitschko, the two brothers.
- 37:55I, I Lennox Lewis was the last, the last great heavyweight
- 38:00champion. Lucic is, is the next he he it's
- 38:03going to be very, very hard to beat.
- 38:04He's one of the best fighters right now in boxing.
- 38:07I, I think if he even cut weight and fought in the, in a, in a
- 38:10small, in the, the light heavyweight champ.
- 38:13I don't, I don't know what the, the under the undercard, the
- 38:17other weight class under heavyweights.
- 38:19I think that if he cut maybe 2030 lbs, he could fight and
- 38:22still be the, the, the champion in that division as well.
- 38:24So I, I, I watched the UFC fight.
- 38:27That was absolute domination. So I think he's the best fighter
- 38:30right now in the world in boxing.
- 38:32That even more than Canelo Alvarez and all those other
- 38:34guys, everybody talking about and that fight coming up, which
- 38:37by the way, the UFC is promoting, I can't.
- 38:40But this is the first fight that the UFC is promoting and that's
- 38:43going to be a good one. Jabba your guy, man, Nebraska's
- 38:47own, Nebraska's own versus Canelo Alvarez and I think he's
- 38:51got a good chance to beat Canelo.
- 38:53I really do. I I think Canelo is talking a
- 38:55lot of crap again. And Canelo, I don't know if he
- 38:58can withstand that speed now obviously going up in that
- 39:01weight class to fight Canelo, that's that's going to be hard
- 39:04on it. But a guy that is ampidextrous
- 39:07and that can fight many multiple ways, I think is going to cause
- 39:10a lot of problems and especially the footwork for Canelo Alvarez.
- 39:13Let's go to the one and only golf clap of the day.
- 39:17This deserves a golf clap. No doubt.
- 39:20Golf clap. Golf clap.
- 39:24The golf clap of the day is pretty simple.
- 39:26It's football and it there's a story that came out.
- 39:29The Washington Commanders, obviously they went from
- 39:32Washington changed their team multiple times, while ownership
- 39:36now wants to change it back to the old name and everybody knows
- 39:40it starts with an R Harris came out.
- 39:43Throughout the last couple of days, there were stories coming
- 39:47out from the organization that they want to change the name
- 39:49back to the Washington. I can't say it because people
- 39:52are going to get angry and, and I believe that the NFL is going
- 39:57to fight this all the way the yen.
- 39:58And if, if need be, I believe the government will get involved
- 40:02with this to try to keep that from happening.
- 40:04But Harris and the organization wants to do that.
- 40:07And what makes it so good? First of all, they're known.
- 40:10They're an organization that won championships.
- 40:13In the 90s, this was a really good football organization for
- 40:17so many years. It was a likable name, a likable
- 40:20jersey and a likable hat. And then you change the name all
- 40:24the way from that name to the Washington football team to the
- 40:27Washington Commanders. I, I don't think the Commanders
- 40:30sound right. The the other name really stands
- 40:32out. So my golf clap of the day goes
- 40:34to the Washington commanders trying and Harris, well, I think
- 40:38he's one of the best owners in professional sports right now.
- 40:41Owns the Devils, owns the the 70s Sixers, even though the
- 40:4476ers are an absolute laughable organization.
- 40:47That's not because of him. He he, he's provided a lot of
- 40:50money, invested a lot of money into the organization.
- 40:52It's just unfortunate they got a stupid GM over there.
- 40:55But my Golf Club goes to the wash stick commanders and
- 40:58ownership wanting to change their name back to the
- 41:01Washington. You know what?
- 41:02So the Golf Club right there, that's a story.
- 41:05I, I can't say it because I'm going to get myself into
- 41:07trouble, but I have no idea why they changed the name.
- 41:10I understand. Obviously they feel it's racist.
- 41:13It's a racist name. This has been around for how
- 41:16many years? I mean even the Washington.
- 41:19I mean the Cleveland. Guardians 32.
- 41:21Yeah, Cleveland Guardians changing their name.
- 41:23They were always the Cleveland. You know what As we remember
- 41:26them in Major League. Why?
- 41:28I can say it. You guys can, Yeah.
- 41:30But yeah, no. But the story behind Chief Wahoo
- 41:33is is the reason. Like if you look into this
- 41:36story, wasn't a very good person.
- 41:37No. The other one, the other one, it
- 41:40came up every 20 years. Somebody would go to the Supreme
- 41:45Court and be like in it. It never ran any legs.
- 41:48I mean, it's is what it is. Some people are going to look at
- 41:50it. Some tribes will look at it some
- 41:52way. Some will look at it the other
- 41:53way. Yeah.
- 41:55It's just when white people say it's a little different.
- 41:57So, yeah. Coming as a Native and my family
- 42:01lives on a reservation. So you wouldn't want the the
- 42:05name to be changed back to the Washington.
- 42:08I mean, it's the same thing. You can you can bring up all
- 42:10these teams like the Chiefs, the Blackhawks, those are real
- 42:13people. Like the Seminoles, that's an
- 42:14actual Indian. Their mascot is an Indian.
- 42:16I think that was that was part of kind of.
- 42:19Oh, good call, Jake. Nice.
- 42:22And so, yeah, so it's just, it's kind of how it is, I guess
- 42:29portrayed and how. So you wouldn't.
- 42:33So you wouldn't. You wouldn't want to be traded
- 42:36back to the old name. That's what you're saying.
- 42:38You know what it wouldn't, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
- 42:44I know people would make a big deal out of it.
- 42:45But it I mean, does, does the government need to get involved
- 42:50in a football team? Like it just it's frustrating
- 42:55because they they started out as the Braves and now the Braves
- 42:58can't even do the tomahawk chop. The tomahawk was a very integral
- 43:02part of our hunting. Like, why wouldn't a tomahawk be
- 43:05allowed? Like, see, it's the context and
- 43:07the way it's used. Like the Seminole, he slams a
- 43:10spear in the 50 yard line. Dope.
- 43:13That's awesome because a Seminole is an actual Indian.
- 43:15But like when you look at it and then even me say an Indian could
- 43:20be derogatory some Native Americans and vice versa.
- 43:24The Native American culture is very, very interesting.
- 43:26It's it's awesome. It's it's something.
- 43:28I'm not saying that it isn't. I just think that no, no, I'm
- 43:31just. Saying it's like it's just
- 43:32weird, like how some people take things differently than than
- 43:37others. I'll tell you the only thing I
- 43:38smell is this. I smell a lot.
- 43:41So we call this segment. What's that smell?
- 43:43Somebody's fault. Hold up, what is that smell?
- 43:46What's right? Wow, you don't see that every
- 43:54day. My rear end is burning.
- 43:58All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's pretty simple.
- 44:00Everybody's going to have a chance to pick a story that they
- 44:04think it smells or what it smells like or just tell me if
- 44:08it stinks, it stenches and and tell us what you know, I have,
- 44:11you know, Speedy has the most interesting, you know,
- 44:14combinations. It gives you a story and it
- 44:16gives you a really weird smell. So what you're going to do is
- 44:19pick a story. It doesn't matter what it's
- 44:20about as long as it's not liberal or, you know, any other
- 44:23crap that you know, that's going on in the world, Make sure make
- 44:27sure that it's something with sports, ladies and gentlemen.
- 44:29So well, we'll go, we'll go first.
- 44:31It's not liberal. I don't, I don't, don't say
- 44:34anything stupid. You know I'm going to go speedy.
- 44:38Don't have to be sports. I'm going to go speedy.
- 44:40Well, it could be music. It could be, you know, the
- 44:42world. Just don't go a little off track
- 44:45here. I'll go speedy.
- 44:47Goody Dan scoops or poops. Jabba fish me.
- 44:54Here we go. All right, I will start it off
- 44:56in college sports. So there was a report of Memphis
- 44:59making a $200 billion deal where they wanted to become Big 12
- 45:04members and the Big 12 decided to turn it down, according to
- 45:07Ross Dellinger of Yahoo Sports. And the reason why it smells
- 45:11like it doesn't make a lot of sense for the Big 12, who's
- 45:13trying to claw their way back into become becoming like the
- 45:17with the Big 10 and the SEC, especially in an NIL era, why
- 45:20would you not want a team like Memphis that's generated a lot
- 45:22of revenue? Penny Hardaway with the
- 45:23basketball team has generated a lot of revenues and really good
- 45:26NIL deals over there. Now, obviously James Wisen was
- 45:29involved in the investigation at the time, but still he was
- 45:31getting a lot of big ones. Like, why would you not want
- 45:33that kind of thing? Your football team has been one
- 45:35of the better offensive teams in the in the country for for a
- 45:38couple of years. They've been pretty much in
- 45:40every bowl game since even when Mike Norvell left for Florida
- 45:43State. So I don't know why the Big 12
- 45:45would not want that. So what does that smell like?
- 45:47It smells like John Marant shooting a bunch of guns with
- 45:50rotten eggs in them all over the city of Memphis 200 million
- 45:55times. 100. Million.
- 46:00Wow, fish. For context, there's actually
- 46:01like they they say that the the the gas there sometimes smells
- 46:04like rotten eggs. That's why I use that.
- 46:06That's a lot of rotten eggs to shoot.
- 46:08Sulfur. Sulfuric acid.
- 46:11All right, Goodwood, let's see it.
- 46:13Mine is in the crypto world. XRP is the native digital asset
- 46:18of the XRP Ledger, which is an open source decentralized
- 46:21technology that was launched in 2012.
- 46:24And I don't know how many of you guys are kryptonauts or not, but
- 46:28XR PS trading volume rose 8% since Sunday evening,
- 46:31maintaining its top five positions among layer ones
- 46:35despite a recent 4% price drop. The market it's outperformed
- 46:40layer one category with a + 28 six percent weekly gains are off
- 46:44the charts. It joins Ethereum and Dogecoin
- 46:47and recent market surge and a I'm getting back into the crypto
- 46:52game. So if you ain't in it, you
- 46:53better get some XRP because it smells like your boy's fitting
- 46:56to retire a second time. That is, tell Odell Beckham
- 47:01he'll get his all his stock back that he lost.
- 47:03XRP is what you pay with when you steal someone's kidney out
- 47:06of their back in a backroom dungeon.
- 47:07Is that what? Is that what we're talking about
- 47:09here? I mean, if it gets the, if it
- 47:11gets the job done, that's what I'm paying with.
- 47:13If I need a kidney, I'm going to get a kidney.
- 47:16Bitcoin did you? If you see Army.
- 47:18Of this story. Dave Portnoy actually pulled out
- 47:21a week before the the the number.
- 47:24Spawned, boomed and he lost. About it he lost like 1,000,000
- 47:28millions and millions of dollars.
- 47:30I'm sure he's going to be just. Fine, I'm sure he is.
- 47:33All right, Danny Boy, let's hear your What's that smell?
- 47:36So not crypto, not sports, but on Saturday I am going to see
- 47:42Pantera play at Jones Beach. Not like our plugging for money,
- 47:46but just saying I'm going to be down the block from the house.
- 47:49And here's my question. Half the Pantera original band
- 47:55are dead. So can you say I'm seeing
- 47:59Pantera play when half the band is dead?
- 48:04Is it, do you call something else?
- 48:06Do you say it's like half terror?
- 48:09Like what do you do when terror? I don't know.
- 48:12But like like half the original members are not there anymore
- 48:16and can never be there again. It's like if Ringo Starr and and
- 48:19Paul McCartney played as The Beatles, would it be The
- 48:22Beatles? So my question is, when I see
- 48:25this show on Saturday, I'm going to be like, like, what do I do
- 48:32with that? So.
- 48:33You don't have either of the brothers left, right?
- 48:36Like the they're both musicians from the band, so that is a
- 48:40problem. That's it's horrible what
- 48:43happened to. The Lynyrd Skynyrd like no one.
- 48:47You guys might not know this, but Dimebag Daryl was murdered
- 48:50on stage by, I guess, someone with a gun.
- 48:53And you want to hear, you want to hear even a crazier story
- 48:56what that that week, that weekend?
- 48:59That's what. Yeah, sure.
- 49:00What's freezer that shit, bro? No.
- 49:02No, no. That weekend in Connecticut,
- 49:04when he was murdered, I was down the block D Jing.
- 49:07And I know what was oh, was it all?
- 49:09I thought it was in Connecticut, but well, I I was in Connecticut
- 49:13D Jing that day, so in Connecticut so.
- 49:16When I heard that I took a shit that day.
- 49:17Dude, I really. I took a shit that day.
- 49:21So, So what? Do you?
- 49:22I did a big concert over. There, half tara's going to
- 49:25smell like Dan. Shit, Mel Errol's ass this
- 49:31where's? Panties do in the pink and one
- 49:34in the stink Ram Jam. I shut up on your face.
- 49:38Can I slap your ass? That's what's funny.
- 49:41OK. So for mine I'm going to be
- 49:43going. Into I love Lisa am I'm going.
- 49:44To be going over to the NFL world because the Steelers just
- 49:47debuted some brand new alternative uniforms and
- 49:50honestly, there's not much to say about it.
- 49:53Doo Doo. Because it's it's straight up
- 49:55dog shit. They don't look good.
- 49:57Scoop sits on the sitter. It's.
- 49:58Horrible. I'm going to take this off for a
- 50:00second because I can barely hear myself, but they look absolutely
- 50:03putrid. They don't look good whatsoever.
- 50:05I know a lot of I know the theme is to try to get a lot of more
- 50:07to re innovate these alternative jerseys for certain teams, but
- 50:12the chargers came out with one of the patriots a little while
- 50:14ago. I feel like those weren't as
- 50:16iconic as, you know, the killer bee.
- 50:18Still, there's alternative uniforms.
- 50:19You know, I can just remember so many times week in week out,
- 50:22seeing Big Ben and all those guys, those Steelers guys on old
- 50:25football Sunday go and get those wins and now it's going to be in
- 50:27some ugly. They look like a bus.
- 50:30I don't know. They look like a school bus and
- 50:31the short bus kind, not the not the long bus.
- 50:33But what does it smell like? It smells.
- 50:36It smells like some rotten ayahuasca that's been crammed up
- 50:41Mike Tomlin's ass. So there we.
- 50:43Go. That's called sex.
- 50:46Look at those jerseys, not. So horrible.
- 50:48I kind of look like I like them. I don't see that bad, don't that
- 50:52terrible. But they look like.
- 50:54If you're playing lacrosse, it's not bad.
- 50:57They don't look like you're playing football whatsoever.
- 50:59Or Premier League Soccer. I was just, I don't know what
- 51:02team it is. There's a team that literally
- 51:03just a soccer team that. Looks Joe.
- 51:05Big bag of Donuts. Over there.
- 51:08Eat here. Have you ever seen the fucking
- 51:10Islanders? Fisherman Jersey.
- 51:11That's. The worst of.
- 51:13All time. I don't think I'm going to
- 51:16argue. This makes my pecker hard.
- 51:18Pulled it out of my ass. I I got a highlight to share
- 51:22with my What's that smell? My, what's that smell happens to
- 51:25go to Yankees Yorvit Vivas who was gunned down going to third
- 51:32base by Ronald Acuna junior flat footed from the corner in right
- 51:36fields. He doesn't even slide into third
- 51:40base. He's deeked by the 3rd baseman
- 51:42who as they say in football, it's apparently true with third
- 51:45baseman on cut off throws, late hands don't show that you're
- 51:48going for the ball until the very end and you can make that
- 51:51tag. Vivas got tagged out.
- 51:53Aaron Boone, 1/3 baseman most of his career said he used to do
- 51:56that to people every single game and he would try to get that to
- 52:00happen. He actually Vivas get got bumped
- 52:02and guess what Boone didn't even bench him for?
- 52:05It I'm putting you on at least. You know, just keeping that
- 52:08culture. Well, what is it?
- 52:09What does it smell like? Well, I'm going to go to Las
- 52:12Vegas because it reminds me of Viva Las Vegas.
- 52:15But this is Viva La Scranton and whatever crappy food they have
- 52:20there is probably going to smell like the shit of Elvis when he
- 52:25used when he died the day eating.
- 52:27A lot of hot ladies. Bacon sandwiches on the.
- 52:30Toy I farted, do you want to? Drop me off La Scranton.
- 52:34Glory Bowl. Bake banana.
- 52:37And bacon. Elvis Presley on the toilet
- 52:39having a heart attack, meaning a peanut butter banana bacon
- 52:43sandwich. That was favorite.
- 52:44Don't be old man today. Lick it and stick it the.
- 52:47King died on his throne. The king died.
- 52:49Java 50 lbs. Mine is on the baseball side and
- 52:55we kind of touched on this with betting early on this year.
- 52:58And so it was Pat Hoberg, who is a 38 year old umpire in Major
- 53:03League Baseball, supposedly had a joint gambling account when it
- 53:08went legal in Iowa in 2019. And the there was no evidence
- 53:16that he had ever used the account.
- 53:18His buddy was a poker player and knew he gambled and they shared
- 53:22an account and they appealed and they appealed it.
- 53:25And our great old commissioner was like, Nope, the appeals are
- 53:30dropped. We fired you.
- 53:31And he was, he was actually one of my favorites.
- 53:33He was great. He'd actually talk to you and
- 53:35not be a Dick. But yeah, I think it's
- 53:38unbelievable. It wasn't even his account.
- 53:40Doesn't even, they have no evidence that he even bet on it
- 53:45is just him and his buddy. And so I think it smells like
- 53:49Manfred wears A thong and puts icy Hot and then takes a poop
- 53:53and rubs it on his face so he can see what it smells like.
- 53:57Gilba, quick question. Ohtani, his interpreter.
- 54:01My sense that's a bullshit story that Otani bets on baseball and
- 54:07his interpreter is taking the fall for it.
- 54:09What's your thoughts on that? Ohtani is the best player in
- 54:12baseball. I understand that part.
- 54:14Yeah. Like, and I'm, I'm the boldest
- 54:17white guy in America, but but my, my point is like, I feel
- 54:21Otani is betting on sports and he's blaming his interpreter and
- 54:25I, I. No.
- 54:27Evidence I need a blow pop. Everything.
- 54:29Was go to casino and find Asians plenty of evidence.
- 54:32Is that your cucumber or are you happy to see me?
- 54:35I'm not saying that. I understand where you're coming
- 54:39from bro, but not me. We all know but.
- 54:43Nope, nobody will ever know. You can say you know, but you
- 54:46won't I. Kind of sure do.
- 54:50How do you know 100%? How do you know 100?
- 54:53Percent Steve Cohen is looking to build a casino next to Citi
- 54:56Field next to Steve Cohen City Field is a fog funivations
- 55:01Little Korea little China in. Which?
- 55:06Is 16 feet from Citi Field you want to open.
- 55:10My dog wants your Pussycat all. Right.
- 55:12So Dan, basically we have to warn Kodai Sanga to not start
- 55:14batting place. I need a blow pop.
- 55:18Oh dude like y'all I've been to casinos before I'm sure you'll.
- 55:21Have as well. Watch Asian casinos and you'll.
- 55:24Think Ram Jam. That's that's really.
- 55:27Interesting. Sometimes you just misplace
- 55:3117,000,000. He tastes himself, yeah.
- 55:33Sometimes you do if you are. What?
- 55:38All right, ladies and gentlemen, the final What's that smell?
- 55:42Well, I'm going to go to NFL conversation as anybody checked
- 55:47out the Netflix quarterback Part 2, Season 2, ladies and
- 55:52gentlemen. Well, it was built on three
- 55:55quarterbacks. Kirk Cousins again, Joe Burrow
- 55:59and Jared Goff and the story that really stuck out to me.
- 56:03I watched the whole season and we'll talk about it on on
- 56:06Wednesday. Jared Goff came out and took
- 56:08shots at Sean McVeigh and said that Sean McVeigh went when the
- 56:12trade happened, when he was traded to the Lions.
- 56:14He said that Sean McVeigh didn't even go up to him.
- 56:17He didn't even speak to him about it, didn't reach out to
- 56:19him. He just pretty much said you're
- 56:20getting traded to the Detroit Lions.
- 56:23And Jared Goff said that to me. It was just there was no respect
- 56:27there. You know, I was your starting
- 56:28quarterback. I took you to the Super Bowl and
- 56:30then you just, you didn't even sit down, you didn't even have a
- 56:33conversation and give me a whole rundown on why you're doing it.
- 56:36He was hurt. And obviously that's why the
- 56:38Lion fans, we, we, they're, they cheer for Jared Goffin and
- 56:43obviously they have those cheers every single time they play the
- 56:48the LA Rams because they want to stick it to the Rams on what
- 56:51they have in Jared Goff. So you know what it smells like?
- 56:54Oh, it smells like Sean McVay, you know, putting his head up
- 56:57his wonderful, beautiful wife's ass and, you know, pulling, you
- 57:01know, daisies out of his own ass while he's doing it.
- 57:04So there you go. So that's what it smells like.
- 57:07I mean, it did. Has anybody seen Sean Mcvay's
- 57:09wife? She She is wonderfully
- 57:12beautiful, sexy. Don't give any ideas.
- 57:16I'm telling you, I go check it out.
- 57:18She is so hot. She's like one of the hottest,
- 57:21like, wives out there. So it's definitely something to
- 57:24look at if you've never seen Sean Mcveigh's woman.
- 57:26So look it up. She's sexy as hell.
- 57:30Band and Sean Mcveigh's wife. I'd stick my head up her ass and
- 57:32there's no doubt about it. I I just wouldn't be pulling
- 57:35daisies out of mine. But yeah, So Jared Goff.
- 57:39No, it's not anybody's name. Maybe it's maybe you've been
- 57:42sticking yourself, your head up somebody's, you know, ass.
- 57:45Maybe fish's ass. I don't know somebody.
- 57:48Somebody that smells like, you know, fish.
- 57:51You get it, Fish Speedy. You know what I'm talking about
- 57:54if it's hilarious. If it's the one that wants to
- 57:56stick up, stick his head up. I'm tired.
- 57:59If it's the one that want to stick his head up Sean Mcvay's
- 58:01wife's ass. I'll let you lick my butt.
- 58:04And then once. I thought that was Matt
- 58:06Leonard's wife. And her and who's the other?
- 58:10Like oh look at that phone isn't look up shit for AI for the
- 58:13contest like. Go look at her body.
- 58:16Go look at her. I love goody.
- 58:18Jared. Gospel.
- 58:20I love him. This makes my pecker.
- 58:22Dude, I'm telling you, go look at Sean Mcvay's wife.
- 58:24Go look at her swimsuit and everything.
- 58:26She's hot, man. All right, that's a smoke show,
- 58:28but she's hot. But I prefer goody with the the
- 58:31I have a phone now for hot chicks, but not for AI.
- 58:34Look at the sports that. He tastes himself.
- 58:37Don't worry, don't worry. There's enough Larry Centers
- 58:39typical references. Here we go.

- 58:45overboard here. Thank you to all the fans tuning

- 59:22Spudo we have on. All right, joining the show
- 59:24again for the first time in a couple of years, 8:45 will be
- 59:26our friend Bashar Breeland, former Commanders, Chiefs,
- 59:29Vikings cornerback at 8:45. And then to be determined on
- 59:31time is our friend, Mr. Jim Lehr.
- 59:34I want to say something. Bashar Breeland, the last time
- 59:37he was on a show, I had to get a lot out of him, and it took a
- 59:41while to get him open. And then two weeks after we
- 59:44interviewed him, he was arrested.
- 59:46For what? What did?
- 59:47He, Jeff told us at the time you had some kind of.
- 59:50Some kind of drug arrest. He got a drug arrest.
- 59:53He had like a machine gun. He was caught with a machine gun
- 59:55and, and, and we read the story. It was absolutely crazy and and
- 59:59Breeland was fantastic on the show.
- 1:00:01I remember, I remember that was at the time the Giants ate a lot
- 1:00:04of corners. I was trying to recruit him to
- 1:00:05come to the Giants. And then and then Pete, Pete
- 1:00:08Burstick, we had on. Like, perfect for the Giants.
- 1:00:10Because he had time. Yes.
- 1:00:11No, you know why it would have been perfect?
- 1:00:12Because you had another guy that, you know, had had a dead
- 1:00:16body in his basement. Because of his good old brother
- 1:00:18Jackrabbit. Yeah, the Jackrabbit.
- 1:00:19Remember that story? Yeah, that was crazy.
- 1:00:24He had a couple of good years. He was pretty good in coverage.
- 1:00:26Yeah, so was, so was. Basically, I'd cover ups
- 1:00:29apparently too. I said he was good.
- 1:00:33They his brother wrapped the dead body in his basement and
- 1:00:35put it in the corner. Nobody saw it.
- 1:00:37Nobody saw a dead body in the corner.
- 1:00:39These things happen. Yeah, I'm sure it does.
- 1:00:41He was definitely jumping over it, If you know what I.
- 1:00:44Mean well, they happen, yeah. Definitely hiding a dead body
- 1:00:47for a week or two in his basement.
- 1:00:49How do you not sell it? Yeah, I, I figure.
- 1:00:53Anyways, thank you to all the fans.
- 1:00:54And again, we'll be back on Wednesday.
- 1:00:56It was a great show. Speedy, do you have anything?
- 1:00:59Do you have anything? Give us a funny, funny.
- 1:01:01Ending Goody goody wrapping up. Spit it out.
- 1:01:06Go ahead. Something.
- 1:01:07No, because you're jibbering and jabbering.
- 1:01:09Goody, Are you sure that dead body wasn't Eli Apple's giant's
- 1:01:12career? Figure as long as she's using
- 1:01:14dude wipes and taking care of my 2 hole I'm good.
- 1:01:16All right, good night. Farewell.
- 1:01:18We're gone it. Is the worldwide sports radio
