- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. I am
- 0:08Speaker 2: here at chatting with Blake Moins right now, and I
- 0:11Speaker 2: was just like, all this stuff that we're chatting about
- 0:14Speaker 2: needs to be recorded. I just found out that Blake,
- 0:18Speaker 2: who has been on three seasons, has never been to
- 0:22Speaker 2: the Bachelor Mansion and he's experienced three different hosts. That
- 0:27Speaker 2: is quite unique.
- 0:29Speaker 3: It is, it is right. I mean, I've always think
- 0:32Speaker 3: when you watch the show, I've always been like, that
- 0:34Speaker 3: would be so cool. A people talk about bachel mansion
- 0:37Speaker 3: bats mans. She's like, I don't know, I don't know
- 0:38Speaker 3: what you're talking about. I don't know what that room
- 0:40Speaker 3: you're talking about. I don't know this, but yeah, so
- 0:42Speaker 3: cool to like go through seasons with three different hosts
- 0:45Speaker 3: all like do it in a different way. But it
- 0:49Speaker 3: was just yeah, interesting that I've I guess been around
- 0:51Speaker 3: that long.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Okay, yeah, because you're in two hotels,
- 0:55Speaker 2: because you were on the traveling seasons of the Bachelor
- 0:57Speaker 2: Hout and then you had yeah good Chris as the
- 1:00Speaker 2: host of the Taysha Claire season and then the Girls
- 1:04Speaker 2: as the host of Katie season and then just Jessie Palmer.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So of all three of those, what's been your most
- 1:10Speaker 2: favorite experience? I mean, is that weird you got engaged?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Is it's probably a weird question to ask. I'm assuming
- 1:15Speaker 2: Katie's was your best experience or do you look at
- 1:18Speaker 2: it in a different way, like in.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Terms of like the different hosts you're just saying experiences in.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You know, just experiences, because you have had three totally
- 1:26Speaker 2: diverse experiences.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Of that, I think the most fun was the first
- 1:31Speaker 3: season I did, just because it was so new and
- 1:33Speaker 3: so yeah, that was exciting, you know, that was exciting,
- 1:36Speaker 3: and like, you know, it was like what you saw
- 1:38Speaker 3: to give is Chris Harrison. It just felt very extreme.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I think the most fun was Paradise, but the most
- 1:43Speaker 3: intense was Keith.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Okay, yes, yes, yes, all right, so I can kind
- 1:48Speaker 2: of relate, like my first season was really fun with Chrystals,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and it was probably because I just wasn't like that
- 1:53Speaker 2: emotionally invested and like everything is so sparkly and exciting.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And then the most like the rights experienced, the most
- 2:01Speaker 2: emotional was Paradise. Yeah, so okay, I have so much
- 2:06Speaker 2: to talk to you about. About Paradise. Okay, so Ben
- 2:10Speaker 2: and I have been really confused by a lack of
- 2:13Speaker 2: like storylines seeming together. Sure, So do you feel the
- 2:20Speaker 2: same watching it back? Do you feel like, oh, that
- 2:24Speaker 2: needed more explanation.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think as a as a viewer,
- 2:30Speaker 3: you could definitely see there's some piece missing. I think
- 2:32Speaker 3: there's a couple episodes back where even like the Jen
- 2:35Speaker 3: situation where I went on a date with Jen, there
- 2:37Speaker 3: wasn't really much explained as to you know, there are
- 2:39Speaker 3: certain things like that I think that that were missed.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Well, what happened there? Tell us what did happen between
- 2:45Speaker 2: you guys?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Honestly, I mean the way I try to best explain
- 2:48Speaker 3: it is I had a really great time with Jen
- 2:51Speaker 3: on that date, and I was able to like compartmentalize
- 2:54Speaker 3: and not think about Jess on it deservingly. So Jen,
- 2:58Speaker 3: you know, really took my mind away from that, which
- 3:00Speaker 3: was great. But when it came back and like you
- 3:03Speaker 3: start to like soak into like you know, back on
- 3:05Speaker 3: that beach and knowing justice there and thinking about what
- 3:09Speaker 3: Jess was potentially doing when I was gone, and like
- 3:11Speaker 3: what was she thinking? Like who did did she finally
- 3:13Speaker 3: explore with Tyler, like there's things that I was also
- 3:16Speaker 3: concerned about in a sense, but my mind kept always
- 3:19Speaker 3: going back to her and my heart, my mind though,
- 3:22Speaker 3: was saying Jen, like Jen was making a lot of
- 3:24Speaker 3: sense to me in terms of practicality. She was really
- 3:27Speaker 3: into seeing that relationship through and Jess wasn't. So my
- 3:31Speaker 3: heart was saying Jess, what made sense was Jen. But
- 3:34Speaker 3: I ended up following this and you know, going back
- 3:36Speaker 3: to Jess essentially.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Okay, So thanks for bringing up another whole storyline for us.
- 3:44Speaker 2: We've been wondering, did you and Mercedes know about this
- 3:47Speaker 2: kiss between Jess and Tyler.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I don't know about Mercedes. I do know that j
- 3:52Speaker 3: just did. I don't know about Meses. I don't know
- 3:54Speaker 3: that ever a favor talked about it. I don't know,
- 3:57Speaker 3: but I but Jess did talk to me about that
- 4:00Speaker 3: in a conversation that night that you can that that
- 4:04Speaker 3: instance you saw where we sat on the couch and
- 4:07Speaker 3: talked about we wanted to do this together essentially where
- 4:10Speaker 3: we like came back from the date that conversation that
- 4:12Speaker 3: was brought up. So she did tell me that I
- 4:15Speaker 3: don't know about the latter.
- 4:17Speaker 2: It was brought up and what did She said, did
- 4:19Speaker 2: you say it happened or like anything about her feelings?
- 4:23Speaker 3: She said that because I pressed her. I was like, listen,
- 4:26Speaker 3: did you do what you needed to do? Because like
- 4:27Speaker 3: I didn't go on this date and like tried to
- 4:29Speaker 3: like create adversity and like I see if there's something
- 4:32Speaker 3: else there and give you space. So then you just
- 4:35Speaker 3: sit around and not do anything. She was worried about
- 4:37Speaker 3: stepping on toes and stuff, so like did you do it?
- 4:39Speaker 3: And she's like, I did? I did you know? I
- 4:42Speaker 3: we did kiss and whatever else, and she said, like
- 4:45Speaker 3: like it was fun, but it just it wasn't like
- 4:46Speaker 3: an overwhelming like attraction or spark there that like really
- 4:50Speaker 3: made me feel like it was I missed you and
- 4:53Speaker 3: whatever else she said, the compliments there and that, so
- 4:56Speaker 3: she did tell me. She said, it wasn't overwhelmingly something
- 4:59Speaker 3: that made her feel a gravitational pull to him, and.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So see, I wish we would have seen that. Okay,
- 5:07Speaker 2: So just just in your relationship to me never felt
- 5:13Speaker 2: strong for you? Did it ever feel strong? Did you
- 5:18Speaker 2: ever think like this could make the distance or were
- 5:21Speaker 2: you like the entire time you were like we'll see,
- 5:24Speaker 2: we'll see, we'll see, well it was.
- 5:29Speaker 3: The difficult part was is that I felt confident and
- 5:34Speaker 3: was like trying to go all in. The issue was
- 5:36Speaker 3: is that it was very good that she wasn't and
- 5:38Speaker 3: so it was a very I wouldn't say it was insecure,
- 5:42Speaker 3: but it was made me feel really weird that like
- 5:45Speaker 3: she wasn't sure about me through the whole process, and
- 5:48Speaker 3: you could feel that it was like one like one
- 5:51Speaker 3: afternoon she could be make me feel like she was
- 5:53Speaker 3: super into it. The other she went so it was
- 5:54Speaker 3: like hot and cold all the time, and so the
- 5:57Speaker 3: relationship never felt strong. My feelings were strong for her,
- 6:00Speaker 3: but the relationship never felt strong because it was very
- 6:02Speaker 3: clear she was unsure.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Okay, Now, if she'd had felter, you think that you
- 6:09Speaker 2: would have felt.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That there was more or if she was sure, she
- 6:12Speaker 3: would have been I think showing more like actual just
- 6:15Speaker 3: like physical affection, and there was there just wasn't like
- 6:18Speaker 3: I've been I'm old enough now, I've been through very
- 6:21Speaker 3: solid relationships where I've been in love and thing of that,
- 6:23Speaker 3: and she wasn't showing enough of those gestures and those
- 6:26Speaker 3: things that made me feel like she was in and
- 6:28Speaker 3: like actually really liked me, like I knew she liked me,
- 6:31Speaker 3: but I think she was just always in her head,
- 6:34Speaker 3: and so I don't know what that looks like. If
- 6:36Speaker 3: she would was to be all in the way I
- 6:38Speaker 3: was and really being affection always doing those gestures to
- 6:41Speaker 3: make me feel wanted, then maybe I would have felt
- 6:44Speaker 3: more secure about the relationship. But we never got there
- 6:46Speaker 3: because I just we're always missing. She was missing something
- 6:50Speaker 3: in me, and that's fine, but like it just got
- 6:52Speaker 3: to a point where it was getting difficult.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I see a little bit of myself with her. Like
- 7:00Speaker 2: you would think that being on the show you would
- 7:02Speaker 2: have relationship experience and confidence going into relationships, but I
- 7:08Speaker 2: did not at all. Do you think that she has
- 7:10Speaker 2: a lack of experience and just kind of nervous to
- 7:14Speaker 2: go through that for maybe like the first time on
- 7:17Speaker 2: the show, she's like an innocence about her.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah. I do think that I maybe could have been
- 7:23Speaker 3: overwhelming in a sense that I did have a lot
- 7:26Speaker 3: of experience. So when I remember we always we had
- 7:28Speaker 3: a conversation where she was just like it just seems
- 7:31Speaker 3: like you're always so valid in your points and you
- 7:33Speaker 3: always have like things to say that like I can't
- 7:36Speaker 3: really disagree with I think that there's maybe times where
- 7:41Speaker 3: the experience and maybe the maturity could have maybe overwhelmed
- 7:45Speaker 3: her in some way. I know that she's only been
- 7:47Speaker 3: into relationships and she has not dated and doesn't date,
- 7:51Speaker 3: and so I think she is mature. I just don't
- 7:54Speaker 3: know how mature she is in the relationship process and
- 7:58Speaker 3: managing that. So I think she's mature person for no question.
- 8:03Speaker 3: But maybe in terms of navigating that space, experience helps you,
- 8:07Speaker 3: it doesn't really have too much of that. Yeah, just
- 8:10Speaker 3: like kind of nerve wracking, you know, Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Do you feel like she blamed herself too much for
- 8:18Speaker 2: all of this? Because I felt like throughout the entire
- 8:20Speaker 2: season she was always blaming herself and I was like, girl,
- 8:23Speaker 2: it's okay, like you just it's just not it for
- 8:26Speaker 2: both of you.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you know. I think I think it's like when
- 8:31Speaker 3: she's looking at it and everybody is like on paper
- 8:33Speaker 3: like why like why can't you see? Like why aren't
- 8:36Speaker 3: you doing this? Like it makes sense as you can
- 8:38Speaker 3: see like an interview, she's like I should be liking him,
- 8:39Speaker 3: like he's he's into me, he's showing up or he's
- 8:42Speaker 3: doing these things. Why don't I like it. So I
- 8:43Speaker 3: think she was like feeling bad and guilty. But it's
- 8:46Speaker 3: like if it's if it's just not there, that's okay,
- 8:48Speaker 3: you're not I'm not I'm not mad at you're at
- 8:50Speaker 3: the point, but like, express this, and let's express it
- 8:53Speaker 3: early so we can kind of get through this earlier
- 8:56Speaker 3: we were getting too late, and you know that's why
- 8:57Speaker 3: you see in the episode, you know, we come to
- 8:59Speaker 3: a pivotal conversation coming up, and so, yeah, I was
- 9:07Speaker 3: lack of lack of experience maybe just made her feel
- 9:13Speaker 3: I don't know, kind of guilty and that she was
- 9:14Speaker 3: in the wrong. She wasn't necessarily in the wrong. Maybe
- 9:16Speaker 3: she could have handled things better, but she's not wrong
- 9:18Speaker 3: in feeling how she feels.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Okay, Well, there's one moment when you're leaving where Kylie
- 9:23Speaker 2: comes up to you and Ben and I talked about
- 9:26Speaker 2: this this week on our recap episode, and we felt
- 9:29Speaker 2: so much chemistry between you and Kylie. We thought that
- 9:32Speaker 2: you guys were going to make out and she was
- 9:33Speaker 2: gonna and I was like, for a second forgetting that,
- 9:35Speaker 2: Like Kylie was in a relationship one of those stronger ones.
- 9:39Speaker 2: What was your friendship?
- 9:40Speaker 3: Like, yeah, I mean that's gonna be a question, obviously,
- 9:43Speaker 3: that's gonna stir some people talking. Honestly, the way it
- 9:47Speaker 3: happened was Kylie and I, well even Mercedes. There's a
- 9:52Speaker 3: few of the girls that I felt a very close
- 9:54Speaker 3: bond with because they're super close with Jess, So there
- 9:57Speaker 3: was never like a romantic connection was going to spark.
- 10:00Speaker 3: But I became close to a lot of the girls
- 10:01Speaker 3: that were best friends with Jess because I was just
- 10:03Speaker 3: from start to finish and it was like a safe
- 10:05Speaker 3: space essentially, So we're able to develop a really great
- 10:08Speaker 3: like friendship bond where I could like rely on them,
- 10:10Speaker 3: talk to them very just like sister like in a sense.
- 10:14Speaker 3: But I can see like she's definitely surprised me, and
- 10:17Speaker 3: she ran up and like was expressing those things.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I was unsure it was like a romantic gesture to
- 10:22Speaker 2: run up to the car, you know what I mean.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I was definitely thrown.
- 10:25Speaker 2: But I also get it as a friend because I
- 10:28Speaker 2: was there in paradise with Nick and I would have
- 10:30Speaker 2: done something very similar.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah, So like that was that And I was thrown
- 10:33Speaker 3: off in that moment. First off, why is anyone up
- 10:35Speaker 3: here at the car, and like, what do you talk
- 10:38Speaker 3: like there's no one else here? What do you mean?
- 10:39Speaker 3: Like I gotta go? So I can see how that
- 10:42Speaker 3: definitely would have made people been like what what is
- 10:45Speaker 3: happening here? But it was from a place of like
- 10:49Speaker 3: a great friendship and she. I think they most people
- 10:52Speaker 3: kind of fell bad because they saw our weird relationship
- 10:55Speaker 3: throughout and it's like, hey, now he's just leaving. He's done.
- 10:57Speaker 3: It's like, are you sure you want to leave? But
- 10:59Speaker 3: at that point, it was just the best thing I
- 11:02Speaker 3: could do at that moment.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Okay, can we talk about some other relationships and people?
- 11:16Speaker 2: And I want to I want to get your perspective. Yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 2: what's Cat like in real life?
- 11:21Speaker 3: I love Cat?
- 11:23Speaker 2: I think I love her too.
- 11:26Speaker 3: She's she certainly has things to work on, no question.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I think she knows that. I think she's you know,
- 11:34Speaker 3: great for the show in a sense that she is
- 11:36Speaker 3: very expressive and she wears everything on her sleep and
- 11:41Speaker 3: she dives into the experience and does not hold anything back,
- 11:45Speaker 3: which creates entertainment. I think that she was the most
- 11:49Speaker 3: fun to be around, you know why, because she was
- 11:54Speaker 3: just constantly entertaining in a space where like she would
- 11:58Speaker 3: say and do things where I'm like, you're you're wild
- 12:01Speaker 3: like this, but I would love to be around her
- 12:02Speaker 3: because she's wild, but in the best, in the best way.
- 12:05Speaker 3: She's just very expressive, likes to emote, and so I
- 12:09Speaker 3: loved being around her because she was just I was
- 12:12Speaker 3: always chill with her, and she never brought the heat
- 12:14Speaker 3: on me, right, So.
- 12:15Speaker 2: She never wanted to date you. So that's probably why
- 12:18Speaker 2: you loved her so.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Much, exactly. There's a safe space there.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, what about Olivia, who also is a whot?
- 12:27Speaker 3: So fun? I mean, they're honestly so fun. I didn't
- 12:30Speaker 3: know anything really about any of those girls, but Olivia, really,
- 12:37Speaker 3: I think everyone knows who she is now and there's
- 12:40Speaker 3: for good reason. She's just fun, She's very She just
- 12:43Speaker 3: got along with well, I mean she got along with
- 12:46Speaker 3: especially all the guys for the most part. Some of
- 12:48Speaker 3: the girls obviously they had tips with naturally, but again,
- 12:52Speaker 3: just like a ton of energy, and I would say
- 12:56Speaker 3: things that other people didn't want to say, which again
- 12:58Speaker 3: is fantastic.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I know that you were gone by this point, but
- 13:02Speaker 2: who the heck is quote getting married? Like you can
- 13:08Speaker 2: you tease for us whether this is somebody we actually
- 13:10Speaker 2: know or is this a random on the at the
- 13:13Speaker 2: Fidanta or something.
- 13:16Speaker 3: No, it's someone you know. Really, yeah, yeah, for sure,
- 13:22Speaker 3: that's all.
- 13:22Speaker 2: It's cast. Oh you don't even like you can say
- 13:25Speaker 2: like it's cast, but not necessarily from this season. But
- 13:28Speaker 2: it's people that we've watched dates.
- 13:31Speaker 3: It's people you know. It's people that you know.
- 13:33Speaker 2: No way, Well, thank you for that, because Ben and
- 13:37Speaker 2: I keep thinking that they're like randoms at the hotel.
- 13:40Speaker 3: No, it's it's it's worth seeing because I don't think
- 13:44Speaker 3: people are expecting it. But it's it's someone you know.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Did you get to stick around for the wedding? Was
- 13:49Speaker 2: it like a crowd with the wedding or is it
- 13:51Speaker 2: a very intimate ceremony? Oh, he's feeling uncomfortable answering, that's fine.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Gives me that's fine. That's he doesn't want to say anything,
- 13:59Speaker 2: but his face tells is telling. It's telling. Can we
- 14:03Speaker 2: talk about Rachel for a second, because I love Rachel.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I'm assuming you love Rachel. What's going on? Everything just
- 14:13Speaker 2: stopped short for her. We're particularly confused, and we'd love
- 14:17Speaker 2: to let you. We would love for you to fill
- 14:19Speaker 2: us in on like what happened between her and Tanner
- 14:22Speaker 2: because in last week's episode or the last episode, it
- 14:26Speaker 2: seemed like they were gonna go for something, which was
- 14:29Speaker 2: surprising for me because it seemed like the Jordan date
- 14:31Speaker 2: went so well. But in this episode both of them
- 14:36Speaker 2: apparently just disintegrated without us being able to see any
- 14:40Speaker 2: of it. Like what was Jordan saying when there was
- 14:42Speaker 2: no romance between them? It certainly looked like that, And
- 14:45Speaker 2: then what happened. Tanner said that like after a day
- 14:49Speaker 2: or two, like it just it wasn't gonna work out
- 14:51Speaker 2: the way he hoped.
- 14:52Speaker 3: So this is such a gray area because I know
- 14:56Speaker 3: that she was caught up in a bunch and she
- 14:58Speaker 3: would come to me for advice with things. But I
- 15:01Speaker 3: was also going through my like interesting turmoil with Katie
- 15:04Speaker 3: and yeah, like the whole jest of it all. Yeah,
- 15:07Speaker 3: And so you know, I don't know the actual details
- 15:12Speaker 3: as to what her shoes were. All I know was
- 15:14Speaker 3: is from start to finish on that season, she kept
- 15:18Speaker 3: coming to me for advice. And when I would see
- 15:21Speaker 3: her with a lot of these guys, noeh made sense
- 15:23Speaker 3: for me. They just did it.
- 15:24Speaker 2: And I would just say, particularly.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Well, Braid made sense in terms of, like, hey, if
- 15:29Speaker 3: you want to have a fling here and have fun, Like, yo,
- 15:32Speaker 3: that's great, But in terms of like being somebody through
- 15:34Speaker 3: in a very serious way, not a lot of the
- 15:36Speaker 3: people there really came across in a way that made
- 15:41Speaker 3: sense from my opinion. And so she kept having these
- 15:46Speaker 3: you know, these dates and these these fun things, and
- 15:47Speaker 3: I just you could tell that she was confused. She
- 15:49Speaker 3: wasn't sure, the guys weren't sure. And so I feel
- 15:51Speaker 3: bad for in a sense that like, I just don't
- 15:54Speaker 3: think there's anyone great for her there, to be honest,
- 15:57Speaker 3: and I think that she in the back of her
- 16:00Speaker 3: mind kind of knew that, but like really want something
- 16:03Speaker 3: to work, Like she's looking for love, and so she
- 16:06Speaker 3: was trying to push and like find all the reasons
- 16:08Speaker 3: to like find Okay, maybe this guy, maybe this guy.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I just don't think that they're necessarily there was nobody fits.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I just I really don't. I really don't.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Do you feel that way about a lot of the cast,
- 16:20Speaker 2: Like there just wasn't a lot of matches because you
- 16:24Speaker 2: know that we.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Only have.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Aaron and Eliza and then Kylie and Avan, and we've
- 16:31Speaker 2: seen so little from both of those couples.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean there's definitely there's definitely some great connections there.
- 16:42Speaker 3: For sure. I think that there is definitely some interesting
- 16:45Speaker 3: personalities that make it hard to find fits, real good
- 16:49Speaker 3: fits for people that are going to last. Outside of
- 16:52Speaker 3: the beach. It was dynamic cast in a sense of
- 16:56Speaker 3: like just unique personalities and people just yeah, I mean,
- 17:01Speaker 3: as you're seeing, there's there is a hard time in
- 17:03Speaker 3: finding natural great chemistries aside from some of the ones
- 17:06Speaker 3: that stand out for sure.
- 17:08Speaker 2: What's up with Peter and Sam?
- 17:13Speaker 3: So? Sam came down Canadian. I didn't know who she
- 17:17Speaker 3: was before that, but I always felt safe around her
- 17:19Speaker 3: for that reason alone. Pete and I were became super
- 17:22Speaker 3: close on the beach. I think it came to me
- 17:26Speaker 3: just for like advice and things. He obviously wasn't around
- 17:28Speaker 3: very much on his season. He went home night one,
- 17:30Speaker 3: and so we became super close. They just they matched up.
- 17:34Speaker 3: They're always laughing. They were always laughing and the most
- 17:37Speaker 3: easy going couple on that beach. They just never really
- 17:40Speaker 3: got into like drama stuff, so you don't see too
- 17:42Speaker 3: much of it, but they were. They were really solid there.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I just don't know if it just maybe seemed more
- 17:47Speaker 3: of a friendship than romantic connection when it came to
- 17:49Speaker 3: really trying to make it happen, and I think they tried,
- 17:53Speaker 3: and so we'll see what happens at the end of this.
- 17:57Speaker 3: All right, very interesting.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Let's talk about the elephant in the room, the Katie
- 18:04Speaker 2: coming down, the Katie, So, like, can you describe what
- 18:10Speaker 2: your heart and your body felt like when you saw
- 18:13Speaker 2: her stand there? Did you have any inkling, did like
- 18:15Speaker 2: the producers say that like something very monumental was going
- 18:18Speaker 2: to happen to you that day?
- 18:19Speaker 3: No? No, I mean I think coming on the season,
- 18:22Speaker 3: I had like was like, imagine if they did that,
- 18:25Speaker 3: But I just don't. I didn't first off, think that
- 18:26Speaker 3: they would. I don't think that. I didn't think that
- 18:28Speaker 3: she would ever come down because she spoke so publicly
- 18:33Speaker 3: about Mayo not getting involved in the in the franchise
- 18:35Speaker 3: again for whatever reasons those were. So I really didn't
- 18:39Speaker 3: think it was gonna be something happened, especially because it
- 18:41Speaker 3: was so late in the season, any of those potential
- 18:44Speaker 3: thoughts were gone, Like I was not thinking about.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It at all, because you thought that she'd be like
- 18:49Speaker 2: first sand or something like, she would come and she'd
- 18:52Speaker 2: date and it'd surprise you and she'd be there right
- 18:53Speaker 2: off the bat, yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Yeah, or just like earlier in the season, so so
- 18:57Speaker 3: much time it went that it just floated. I just
- 18:59Speaker 3: never thought of it anymore. So that day was going
- 19:02Speaker 3: really really well in terms of for Jess and I.
- 19:04Speaker 3: It was a day that we needed. And later in
- 19:07Speaker 3: the afternoon, Yeah, We're all sitting around and I had
- 19:09Speaker 3: a feeling something just going only because I was looking
- 19:11Speaker 3: around just you know, and every camera's on you.
- 19:13Speaker 2: You're like, what the oh yeah, oh yeah, all right,
- 19:17Speaker 2: and so.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Yeah, little do you know, I hear her hello coming
- 19:22Speaker 3: up those stairs. I'm like, I know that voice. And
- 19:25Speaker 3: then like looking and seeing her, I literally is I
- 19:27Speaker 3: think out of the flips, like, because I just wasn't
- 19:30Speaker 3: ready for that. I wasn't ready to have that conversation.
- 19:34Speaker 3: So I was just kind of staring at her, being
- 19:36Speaker 3: like is she here? Like I didn't know, and so
- 19:38Speaker 3: she pulled me right away, So I didn't have time
- 19:40Speaker 3: to even think about what the hell was going to
- 19:41Speaker 3: say her, And I didn't know what angle she was
- 19:44Speaker 3: going to come at, what emotions are you feeling? What
- 19:45Speaker 3: are you here to do? So she had preparation in
- 19:48Speaker 3: a sense knowing I was potentially around there.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I did you want to freak out that she was
- 19:52Speaker 2: there to date?
- 19:54Speaker 3: That's what That's one hundred percent when I thought was happening.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Because I tried to pry her at the end of
- 19:59Speaker 3: the conversation and be like, hey, so you like here
- 20:00Speaker 3: a day, like what are you doing? She like, wasn't
- 20:02Speaker 3: answering her, like I was overwhelmed, But yeah, angst I
- 20:07Speaker 3: would say, I was very anxious because I just didn't
- 20:09Speaker 3: know what she was there to do.
- 20:11Speaker 2: And their say, well, I love the way you were
- 20:13Speaker 2: just so honest, you were like, well that just I
- 20:16Speaker 2: kind of needed that because it reminded me of how
- 20:18Speaker 2: I should be feeling. And I had so much less
- 20:21Speaker 2: time with Katie before our engagement, and I felt so
- 20:25Speaker 2: much more so at the end of the day. Are
- 20:27Speaker 2: you thankful that she came down?
- 20:29Speaker 3: I am weirdly. I am weirdly because I don't It
- 20:33Speaker 3: would have taken me running into her person for us
- 20:35Speaker 3: to have that conversation. Maybe that environment wouldn't have been
- 20:38Speaker 3: as fitting. And I think we met in a similar place.
- 20:42Speaker 3: So as much as the cameras didn't make you comfortable
- 20:44Speaker 3: in a sense, is like there was a comptability there
- 20:47Speaker 3: with her. Now, I think we needed the time. If
- 20:52Speaker 3: I responded to everything was happening in that time publicly
- 20:55Speaker 3: with Nick John and you know that she physically or
- 20:58Speaker 3: emotions to all that, I was wrapped up in all that,
- 21:01Speaker 3: and I was bitter. I just it wouldn't have went
- 21:03Speaker 3: as smooth as it did, you know, and we need
- 21:05Speaker 3: time to like reflect and like let it just breathe
- 21:07Speaker 3: a little bit. So I didn't know I needed it.
- 21:10Speaker 3: I probably could have like prepared myself in a sense
- 21:12Speaker 3: like really get everything off my chest. But I feel
- 21:14Speaker 3: like we really did. I mean, everything we talked about
- 21:16Speaker 3: was the important aspects. We didn't need to dive in
- 21:19Speaker 3: into any bullshit, dig up anything to like watch you do.
- 21:22Speaker 3: It was just like it's okay, forgive you, I get it,
- 21:24Speaker 3: I'm understanding. And so yeah, it was like I was
- 21:28Speaker 3: able to reach up grab that book from like my
- 21:30Speaker 3: library and close that last chapter and like put that
- 21:33Speaker 3: book in and be like and I can now look
- 21:36Speaker 3: back on it, open it up and like look back
- 21:38Speaker 3: at good memories and all those things and not be
- 21:40Speaker 3: scared to you know, open it up with like bad
- 21:44Speaker 3: memories to that. If that makes any sense.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Did you think that you needed the closure as bad
- 21:48Speaker 2: as you realized.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Well, I just it was like something was hanging. I
- 21:55Speaker 3: know that. I think the way that it was left
- 22:00Speaker 3: was she had reached out to me and left me
- 22:02Speaker 3: lots of different voice notes and things kind of explaining
- 22:05Speaker 3: and apologizing in the way that things had left off,
- 22:07Speaker 3: and so I knew that it probably in some way
- 22:10Speaker 3: was messing with her that Like I just never even
- 22:13Speaker 3: pretended like I had read it saw anything, although it
- 22:15Speaker 3: did so like she I know that she how she
- 22:18Speaker 3: felt and how to apologezed she was, but she didn't
- 22:20Speaker 3: know really how I was feeling. And so I think
- 22:22Speaker 3: like it was it was good for her, especially to
- 22:25Speaker 3: know now okay, now I know, and how closure that
- 22:27Speaker 3: he's not mad at me, It's fine, he forgives. And
- 22:30Speaker 3: so I think closure for her was more important to
- 22:32Speaker 3: the closure for me because I knew I was okay,
- 22:34Speaker 3: I just hadn't verbilized it to her yet.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So it's been two years or it was almost two
- 22:47Speaker 2: years when you guys were filming Paradise. Why did it
- 22:51Speaker 2: take so long if it seemed to be something that
- 22:53Speaker 2: both of you desired?
- 22:57Speaker 3: I see, I didn't. Yeah, I mean I didn't necessarily
- 23:00Speaker 3: I desire it. She probably wanted it more than I did.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I just knew were as like I in a sense,
- 23:05Speaker 3: and we were like had control and sense like I
- 23:07Speaker 3: didn't respond. I don't need to. I don't owe you anything.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you felt like you kind of were on top
- 23:12Speaker 2: just by doing that.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I just like was just like I don't need to
- 23:15Speaker 3: open it up, and there will be a time, like
- 23:17Speaker 3: there's going to be a time where this happens and
- 23:19Speaker 3: we run into each other an event or whatever it is,
- 23:21Speaker 3: Like you know, this world is small, but we're in
- 23:24Speaker 3: and at that time there'll be enough time where we
- 23:25Speaker 3: can court, like very mutually respectfully have a conversation. So
- 23:30Speaker 3: why did it take so long? I mean sure I
- 23:33Speaker 3: could have like randomly called her up or like text
- 23:35Speaker 3: and be like, hey, I'm ready to talk now, but like, yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 3: it just wasn't a priority either at the same time,
- 23:41Speaker 3: So that's maybe why I can't tell exactly. I just
- 23:45Speaker 3: like I was not following her, I wasn't seeing any
- 23:48Speaker 3: of her stuff unless someone sent it to me, Like,
- 23:50Speaker 3: you know, she wasn't top of mind. So kind of
- 23:54Speaker 3: how it went, And.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Just to remind the audience the anger that Blake had
- 24:01Speaker 2: was because she jumped into a relationship with John Hersey
- 24:05Speaker 2: right after their breakup and he was on her season
- 24:08Speaker 2: as well. Okay, yes exactly. So now you guys have
- 24:13Speaker 2: seen each other since it was an event of yours
- 24:16Speaker 2: in San Diego. How did how'd that go? And how
- 24:19Speaker 2: did it come about?
- 24:22Speaker 3: So the nonprofit partner that I was working with that
- 24:25Speaker 3: we shot the short documentary with is often has an
- 24:28Speaker 3: office Sandio, so they're hosting it for all their local
- 24:31Speaker 3: donors and all those things. So I flew in on
- 24:33Speaker 3: my way home from Indonesia and working in a different
- 24:35Speaker 3: project there to stop in, and I thought, well, there's
- 24:38Speaker 3: lots of people obviously in this hub that might want
- 24:41Speaker 3: to come and support it, and I wasn't going to
- 24:43Speaker 3: send an invite to everybody but her, regardless if it
- 24:46Speaker 3: was going to bring some type of attention or make
- 24:48Speaker 3: it weird in any way for people. We were great
- 24:51Speaker 3: on the show and that's where we had left it,
- 24:52Speaker 3: and we had texted a couple times after that like
- 24:55Speaker 3: just like everything's cool, like you know, very friendly a quarters.
- 24:59Speaker 3: So I felt okay to extend that invite to her
- 25:01Speaker 3: as well, and so yeah, she came out and supported.
- 25:04Speaker 3: It wasn't peered at all. Honestly, it was super easy.
- 25:09Speaker 3: You know, we picked up where we left off in
- 25:11Speaker 3: a sense of it was just super comfortable, like we
- 25:13Speaker 3: were like great friends. We're just missing that romantic aspect,
- 25:17Speaker 3: so it wasn't very weird.
- 25:19Speaker 2: You mentioned that it was almost kind of nice that
- 25:22Speaker 2: the conversation happened where you guys started a relationship on
- 25:27Speaker 2: the Bachelor cameras? Do you do you also think that
- 25:30Speaker 2: it was good that you had the conversation on TV
- 25:32Speaker 2: just because, like, to me, it's very weird. I feel
- 25:38Speaker 2: like I can have my most vulnerable conversations in that space.
- 25:43Speaker 2: It does bring something out of you. I don't know
- 25:46Speaker 2: that I would have let myself get there like that
- 25:49Speaker 2: deep if I wasn't there, Like even like Jared and
- 25:52Speaker 2: I went to Paradise last year and we had a
- 25:54Speaker 2: conversation there that like we barely ever have in real life.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Right right, m hmm, just makes you get that, well,
- 26:02Speaker 3: this is It's it's interesting right because I think, you know,
- 26:07Speaker 3: I know how much growth have happened to be on
- 26:08Speaker 3: the show because you're forced to do things you typically wouldn't.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You have to get vulnerable or you can't get anywhere
- 26:13Speaker 3: with you know, wherever you're pursuing, so you learn to
- 26:17Speaker 3: do it there. That's where you learn it. And so
- 26:23Speaker 3: when you're back there, it's like it's just like I'm
- 26:25Speaker 3: back in class again, like and it's you know what
- 26:26Speaker 3: I mean, Like it's almost like it's easy to emote
- 26:29Speaker 3: there because it's natural and they are used to doing
- 26:31Speaker 3: it as well, So you know that you can have
- 26:33Speaker 3: a vulnerable conversation because that's how you did it in
- 26:37Speaker 3: the first place. So like it's easier to do in
- 26:39Speaker 3: that environment. I don't That's the way I kind of
- 26:43Speaker 3: try to explain.
- 26:43Speaker 2: It is exactly the way I feel, And I wish
- 26:46Speaker 2: that everybody out there listening could have a place where
- 26:51Speaker 2: they could do it too, with their partners. Perhaps it's
- 26:55Speaker 2: like a therapy room. I mean probably like the most
- 26:58Speaker 2: the easiest comparison is probably a therapist.
- 27:02Speaker 3: It really is it truly? Is? It truly is? And
- 27:05Speaker 3: even if and even if there's not you know, a
- 27:08Speaker 3: necessarily producer that's trying to the conversation itself in that environment,
- 27:12Speaker 3: it's like you just know that this you have this
- 27:16Speaker 3: one shot and this opportunity to talk about the thing
- 27:18Speaker 3: you want to talk about, so get it out right now.
- 27:20Speaker 3: And it's just like you're kind of forced in that
- 27:21Speaker 3: environment to do those things. So it's such a weird thing,
- 27:25Speaker 3: but yeah, it's where we learned it, and so I
- 27:27Speaker 3: think we feel comfortable in doing it. There.
- 27:30Speaker 2: After having such a vulnerable conversation, it seemed like Katie
- 27:34Speaker 2: was a little confused in her feelings. Somebody in the
- 27:37Speaker 2: interview room asked her, do you still love him? And
- 27:40Speaker 2: she seemed tempted to say, yes, How did that make
- 27:43Speaker 2: you feel? Watching back?
- 27:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you know, I think naturally pulls on
- 27:49Speaker 3: the hearts strings a little bit because I do know Katie,
- 27:53Speaker 3: and like that was a very natural reaction for her,
- 27:56Speaker 3: So I you know, it was interesting seeing I just
- 28:00Speaker 3: I certainly didn't know that. Now I try to think
- 28:04Speaker 3: about I was asked that same question, how I respond
- 28:09Speaker 3: I would say that, like, you know, when you've been
- 28:12Speaker 3: through something like that, or if you've been in love
- 28:14Speaker 3: with somebody, you typically always hold at least a little small,
- 28:17Speaker 3: you know, soft spot for them in here still, right,
- 28:20Speaker 3: And so you know, she obviously tapped into that and
- 28:24Speaker 3: was able to express that, and you know, there will
- 28:27Speaker 3: always be that little piece there. Right, It's just how
- 28:30Speaker 3: big is that enough of that to spark anything again? Romantically?
- 28:34Speaker 3: I know it's not for me in a place. I
- 28:37Speaker 3: don't think it is for her either, but you know,
- 28:39Speaker 3: it just made it made it feel real because there's
- 28:43Speaker 3: always that thing around my season, like where you default
- 28:45Speaker 3: and all these things, and you know the way that
- 28:47Speaker 3: she jumped so quickly to John, it was like multiple
- 28:51Speaker 3: things made me feel like was this all just a
- 28:54Speaker 3: fucking you know what I mean? And so seeing that
- 28:56Speaker 3: reaction there just kind of brings it home a little
- 28:58Speaker 3: bit for me that like that was real. It was
- 29:01Speaker 3: pure so interesting, interesting for sure. Maybe yeah it's yeah interesting, Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, that's nice that you were able to feel
- 29:13Speaker 2: that afterward. Definitely it was real. My final question for you,
- 29:18Speaker 2: I guess, is just could you ever see yourself revisiting
- 29:23Speaker 2: that or did what happened in the aftermath just kind
- 29:26Speaker 2: of possibly possibly ruined any sort of reconciliation for you.
- 29:31Speaker 3: No, I mean, I'm definitely I'm pretty not that I
- 29:34Speaker 3: create like a standard or like a procedure in terms
- 29:36Speaker 3: of how I deal with break us some things. But
- 29:38Speaker 3: I you know, it's easy I think to look back
- 29:40Speaker 3: and all the benefits and the positives and the great
- 29:41Speaker 3: things that Tony, but there was reasons why we didn't work,
- 29:44Speaker 3: and so you know, I don't. We're in a place
- 29:48Speaker 3: right now where like A really value that friendship and
- 29:50Speaker 3: someone who's going to be in my corner likewise that
- 29:52Speaker 3: I would be for her. And so to open that
- 29:53Speaker 3: can of worms again to see what we could do
- 29:56Speaker 3: different to try and make it happen, I just don't
- 29:58Speaker 3: see that being something that it's worthwhile on both of
- 30:01Speaker 3: our ends. When I feel like I have a really
- 30:04Speaker 3: close friend that would be honest with me, tell me
- 30:06Speaker 3: everything how she felt, thought a felt, and there's only
- 30:09Speaker 3: so many people you get like that in your life,
- 30:10Speaker 3: So like I don't want to ruin that. I don't
- 30:13Speaker 3: think she does either, And so we're in a great
- 30:15Speaker 3: place right now friendship wise, and I think it should
- 30:17Speaker 3: probably stay that way.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Awesome, Well, Blake, thank you so much for coming on
- 30:23Speaker 2: here and feeling us in and telling us all like
- 30:26Speaker 2: the secrets and the deep feelings. We really appreciate it.
- 30:29Speaker 2: This is how we sign off, so please sign off
- 30:32Speaker 2: with me. Yeah, until next time I've been Ashley.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Until next time I've been Ashley.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Okay, therry gout. That's amazing. That was better than I
- 30:43Speaker 2: could have ever imagined because it's really supposed to be.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I've been blake, but that works. Oh, Ashley, that's cute.
- 30:54Speaker 2: We like that now. I'm gonna pull that on bed
- 30:57Speaker 2: next time we record. All right, see you like. Thank
- 30:59Speaker 2: you so much, Thank you, take care bye you do
