- 0:11Another easy double. Yeah.

- 0:18watch but we still take the Mick.
- 0:19Dean in Perth with the long run. Legs 1 brings the fire when the
- 0:22session gets thick. Ryan in the mix with the numbers
- 0:24and plans from ever Sauce the medals.
- 0:26Yeah, we break it all down. Hard graft Monday left about a
- 0:28Sunday. Still chasing?
- 0:32Hello and welcome back to the Easy Double Podcast episode 66.
- 0:38We've got a very big show in order with results coming from
- 0:42Brussels where Owen was on the ground in the IFAM meet.
- 0:46We've got the Jimin Diamond League in China, the second
- 0:49rendition of the Diamond League this season, we've got the HBF
- 0:53Run in Perth, we might touch on the Cape Town Marathon, Sound
- 0:58Run in LA, Track Festival and the European 10,000 Meter Cup
- 1:02over in Italy. Before we did start, I just
- 1:06wanted to offer our thoughts and condolences to the friends and
- 1:09family of the runner who tragically lost their life at
- 1:13HBF Run yesterday. It's terribly sad news to come
- 1:17from such a great event. So fellas, Monday evening,
- 1:23Monday afternoon for you, Owen, maybe we'll start with you.
- 1:27You've made it back to the homeland safely.
- 1:31Yeah, made it back in one piece. Pretty, pretty tired.
- 1:34My schedule was all out of whack over the last couple of days.
- 1:39But no, made it back and you'll be delighted to know the Irish
- 1:43heat wave has landed. Yeah, I'd say the whole
- 1:47country's at the beach at the moment.
- 1:49It's clear blue skies and yeah, it's pretty warm.
- 1:54Can can we ask how warm is warm? At the moment it's 24° and
- 2:01that's the equivalent of like a 38 in Perth.
- 2:07You know, believe it or not, in the world or Liverpool, for
- 2:11those who don't understand the world, they've got a high of
- 2:143030, so they do. You believe it?
- 2:18It's very, very warm. Wow, but like in.
- 2:20Brussels at the weekend, it was like 26 to 29 just cooking.
- 2:28Do you enjoy summer? I went.
- 2:30Do you? Are you enjoying the weather?
- 2:32I would have liked like a little slow build up to this, like
- 2:35literally went from like 1 extreme to the other.
- 2:39And so it was a shock to the system.
- 2:43Yeah, and all the heat adoption I'd done over my two years in
- 2:48Australia as well and truly gone, put it that way.
- 2:53Are you trying to get up earlier now to try and avoid the the
- 2:57weather or just run when you run?
- 2:59Well, two hours. I'm extremely tired so I didn't
- 3:02even run today. I'm just in recovery mode.
- 3:05But no, no, it's not too. It's not that bad.
- 3:08Yeah, then don't, don't fall for it.
- 3:10This is one day on my weather app for Liverpool.
- 3:15Next Wednesday, it's back to a high of 13.
- 3:21That's crazy. But like this is people have
- 3:24such trouble planning their annual leave and stuff because
- 3:27you can't pre book leave in July or August now and you get a nice
- 3:31weather. It's just a lottery, isn't?
- 3:33It and then like if your book leave and it's warm in Ireland,
- 3:38you feel guilty. You're like, oh, I didn't even
- 3:40need a book. I'm wasting it.
- 3:43True. They're lucky in England today
- 3:47though, it's public holiday so it's arrived on the perfect day
- 3:50for them. How are you getting on as well,
- 3:53Dean? Doing well, going OK and.
- 3:59We got some nice news over the weekend that the DZ double
- 4:02singlets had landed. Bix had received the order in
- 4:05person and they'll be doing to be get the handover this week
- 4:09and we'll get the shipments out for all those who participated
- 4:12in the Patreon pre-order. We have big drop, so yeah, no
- 4:17thanks to Vicks as well for for assisting with that massive help
- 4:21as they are as we mentioned throughout our episodes.
- 4:25But yeah, excited to put them on.
- 4:29Yeah, you may have seen it on my back on the weekend, which was
- 4:32was actually A cause for concern at one point, you know, because
- 4:35the start and the finish is in a different location and I hadn't
- 4:39arranged that. I think they offer like a
- 4:41backdrop facility if you go earlier in the week where
- 4:44they'll take your belongings to the finish.
- 4:47And because it's actually quite cool in Perth at the minute, I
- 4:51was like, Oh no, I'm going to finish and be quite cold and
- 4:55have nothing to to put on. You live 2 KS, You live 2 KS
- 5:00from the finish line, right? Yeah, yeah, about 1500 meters.
- 5:04I made it home safely. This has got shades of Owen
- 5:08getting driven downhill on his reps about it.
- 5:12I actually remember the city to surf.
- 5:16So you have to choke all you leave your gear in the city and
- 5:19you run out to the beach. And like after that race I was
- 5:22put like full on like cold shakes.
- 5:24I had nothing. I had to go and buy another
- 5:26T-shirt and then I was so sad when my race I just walked along
- 5:31the coastline until Aiden came down to pick me up, which took
- 5:35ages because the traffic was all backed up.
- 5:37Thinking about how you got out kicked.
- 5:40Yeah, Spy. Is mad in that Gloucester park
- 5:47afterwards that you don't realize that many people live in
- 5:49Perth, let alone like do one race.
- 5:52It's a it's a big deal. You you get excited to have a
- 5:56punt next Friday night. Did it get you that in Toast I.
- 6:01Was yeah. I was trying to analyze how the
- 6:03going was. The 800 meters around.
- 6:08Well that that's one of the things yes you come into that
- 6:11come into that bloody. I should have asked you about
- 6:13this. When you come into the truck
- 6:15park that like you can see the finishes over the other side.
- 6:18But because it's not a 400 meter track, it's a dog racing, horse
- 6:23racing circuit, whatever it is. I didn't know, like how far was
- 6:27left to go. Yeah.
- 6:28Yeah, you kick, though it looks like you might have taken a few
- 6:31scalps towards the end. We're probably jumping ahead
- 6:33here. Yeah, there's, there is a bit of
- 6:36a story behind that. I'll, I'll explain.
- 6:39Yeah. On the singlets.
- 6:41On the singlets, I actually debuted my one.
- 6:44I brought him. No, you didn't.
- 6:45I didn't race it out, but I didn't race in it.
- 6:47But I jogged in on the Sunday. What do you think?
- 6:50Oh, boys, they're nice. They are.
- 6:52I show and you know Adam Nathan, he listens to the podcast.
- 6:55Yeah, he I jogged with him and I've shown him the material and
- 6:59he's he's like what? It's like it's very exact same
- 7:04as another brand. But yeah, it's crazy.
- 7:07Super, super nice. Love that.
- 7:10It's cool. We'll get them on the airplane
- 7:12ASAP to. Actually, my coach is looking
- 7:15for one. Yep.
- 7:16So we'll make sure it's on route.
- 7:23Right then let's start with the running results which are
- 7:27coincidentally sponsored and brought to you by Bix Nutrition.
- 7:31So if you are after any gel as electrolytes tablets, visit
- 7:35bixvitamins.com and use the code double for 20% off your order.
- 7:40And we'll start in Belgium, where I was racing himself.
- 7:45So I'll just go through some notable names throughout, like
- 7:49the 5K and the 1500. They were like the ones I sort
- 7:52of stayed around and watched and yeah, pretty fast times in the
- 7:59men's 15, The men's 5000 meters, probably the most notable name,
- 8:04Phillip Bingo Bryson was actually running.
- 8:06So it's pretty cool seeing him. He came second in a 1330.
- 8:10Another note we mentioned was Andy Bouchard from Scotland, UK
- 8:15and he came seventh in 1332 and then 14th. 1st Irish home was at
- 8:20Niall Murphy. He'd a big PB.
- 8:22He ran at 1337, which is, yes, Savage gone.
- 8:27Did I say that? Is it Andy Bouchard?
- 8:30Did he, did he qualify? Did he run a standard or
- 8:33something to compete for Scotland in the COM games?
- 8:36Is that what he was talking about there?
- 8:38Yeah, but it's that sounded very soft if he's running 1332 and
- 8:44getting it. Yeah, I couldn't quite make
- 8:46sense of it, but I guess it might.
- 8:49It's interesting. Our standards, our being the
- 8:52Aussie standards have been I think set pretty because the
- 8:55team, remember we're talking about it, they said need to send
- 8:58a smaller team. We were thinking that the stands
- 8:59would be quite hard to achieve. Not to say that 1332 is anything
- 9:04to sniff at, but if we're talking world times at the
- 9:07minute, what's at 1301 to quote to like is like the auto queue
- 9:11for world champs. Yeah, so I'd say like, it's his
- 9:15home, it's in Scotland, isn't it?
- 9:18Yeah. So I'd say, I know they might
- 9:20try and make a lot of Scottish, like send a full team basically.
- 9:23So true standard, a little bit liar.
- 9:30That was going to say about Ingridson as well.
- 9:32It's funny, I've never really looked at him weirdly and
- 9:35thought he looks like Jacob but then when I seen him clip of him
- 9:39running just reminded me of Jacob so much.
- 9:42Which is completely unsurprising.
- 9:44Like they're literally brothers. But also like nice to see him
- 9:48running. Like he's still pretty fast
- 9:51isn't he? You forget.
- 9:53It's crazy like that's they're like probably their base level.
- 9:57Yeah. Like he's able to just not get a
- 9:591330 because he's had really bad hamstring issues.
- 10:02Was it or something like that? Yeah, I think so.
- 10:05And but he's been out for a long time.
- 10:06But he former is a European champion, I think because in,
- 10:09you know, the 1500. Yeah, on the women's side,
- 10:15actually, Megan Keith done all the work in this one.
- 10:18And then I forget the other girl's name, but she just had
- 10:20kicked her with like 150 meters ago.
- 10:23It was actually pretty, pretty. Not like sportsman like and like
- 10:28he literally LED every single lap.
- 10:30So she ran 1454, which, yeah, against super run and four
- 10:35seventh was Laura Muir, which was nice to see her back on the
- 10:37circuit. Stepping up to the 5K.
- 10:40She ran fifteen O 7 and then 16th was team Macau's India Weir
- 10:45in a 1526, which again, like for her first 5K of the year, it's
- 10:52it's not too bad like it was. I hate giving excuses but it was
- 10:57warm like so all these times are very good.
- 11:03You'd think that Megan Keith and Laura Mule, they'll both have
- 11:07Scotland vest on in the Comm games as well, one way or
- 11:11another. Surely, surely, Laura Mirror.
- 11:14She's from Scotland. Is she or?
- 11:17Yeah. OK, cool.
- 11:21The Senior man 1500 and James McMurray came second in this.
- 11:26So he's a Hoka elite from the UK and he ran a PB of 334.9 which
- 11:32yeah, big one from him seventh was a Scott B and A33886 and
- 11:38then call Nelson was also in that race in a 340.9.
- 11:41So this was like 4 seconds faster for from Callum Nelson
- 11:44from his like debut in Belfast or season opener in Belfast.
- 11:47So he'll be happy with that. And regarding Scott BI think
- 11:50he's just off his PB. His PB is 337 and this is just
- 11:54basically a Ross Buster. He's going to umm them Pavo
- 11:57known know me games or something in.
- 11:59No, no me. Guys, that 5K is going to see
- 12:03some mountain of boys under 13 minutes.
- 12:07It is going to be ridiculous. Umm, so yeah.
- 12:10Is that in like 1 of the? Is it like Finland?
- 12:13Is that Finland? Finland, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:17So umm, yeah. Be super eager to see what that
- 12:19I think it's next week or the week after that.
- 12:22And were you were you able to physically watch all of these
- 12:25races whilst you were like down at the track?
- 12:28So there the way it was, there was like with the with the five
- 12:34KS or with the 1500s that was on she on the Sunday.
- 12:38So I could watch all the 1500s but the five KS.
- 12:44So the main program 5K was on ash a little bit after 9 and
- 12:53there was 3 heats in that and then it was the after program 5
- 12:57KS and there was like 6 or 7 heats in that.
- 13:02So yeah, it went on like late into the into Sunday morning.
- 13:10But yeah, it was good. It was just so warm.
- 13:13It just wasn't fun to just sit in the stand.
- 13:15And yeah, it's just not not built for it anymore.
- 13:18The heat in the women, Jayla Hancock, Cameron came across and
- 13:26she came first in a four O 6 low.
- 13:29So yeah, she took the win there. And then third was UK's modeling
- 13:33Molly Hudson, who are on a four O 7.27.
- 13:37So yeah, they were just notable names that people might know.
- 13:40Other than that, it was like French or German that I haven't
- 13:44a clue who they are, but they're still like, yeah, pretty fast.
- 13:49That Molly, she's not training partner of Keely, but she's like
- 13:53best friends or good friends with her I think.
- 13:57Yeah, 407 like that's good season opener.
- 14:01Also Jayla Hancock, Cameron, like I don't think she's going
- 14:04to end up getting selected for the Comm games in any
- 14:07discipline. So frisbee over in Europe now.
- 14:10Like she must just be planning on doing a European summer,
- 14:13wasn't she? Absolutely.
- 14:15There's so many races, like it's only when I'm over here now
- 14:18realizing there is so many races on lads, it's ridiculous.
- 14:22It's actually hard to. Actually, every week.
- 14:24Yeah, yeah. From now until like August, just
- 14:28bang, bang, bang. Every week, midweek.
- 14:30Yeah, it's crazy. Overwhelming for you?
- 14:35Well, I think I've only got 2, so I'm sort of sat in stone what
- 14:39I'm doing. Will we save talking about your
- 14:42result until your little recap and then you do your full recap
- 14:48on the No agenda show or what you think?
- 14:50Well, I give a little recap here, yeah.
- 14:53Yeah, go for it. Where?
- 14:54Yeah, so again I was, I think it was the lads in the main 5000.
- 15:02I started warming up on that sort of started with the way
- 15:06this meat worked is like I could see who was entered and there
- 15:10was like 100 and like 97 people entered in the after program and
- 15:14it went from like 14 flat to 15 flat and they. 190 people in
- 15:21that bracket. Yeah.
- 15:23It's, it's crazy how stacked it is.
- 15:25Like, yeah. That's so cool.
- 15:28And so on the day of your race, your little timetable and you
- 15:34had to check in, I think I had to check in before like 20 past
- 15:398. I had to check in before 8:20.
- 15:43And so then they meet, can see who's checked in and then they
- 15:50dish out the heats. So I actually, I had a ballpark
- 15:55of when I was running, but I didn't 100% know when basically.
- 16:00So it was sort of hard when you're normally like, you know
- 16:04what time you're racing and you can like take your nomio, your
- 16:07bicarb. So I just played it safe and
- 16:10just took it a little bit earlier than normal.
- 16:13So yeah, you had to have your entry.
- 16:16You had to sign in before 8:50 and then the heats were ready at
- 16:239:20. And then the first rate, the
- 16:27first event in the after program 5K was a 10:20.
- 16:34So you had it basically an hour between.
- 16:37Yeah. However, the heats weren't
- 16:41released until I'm going to say 9:45.
- 16:47So a little bit like, I don't know, it just felt weird.
- 16:50Like when you on you normally know like I'm very rigid.
- 16:53Like I make a note on my phone, I take this and this and this.
- 16:57I'm warming up. Then I've it all like planned
- 16:59out to like the minutes and so that was a little bit stressful.
- 17:06Umm, but yeah, eventually I got my heat, I was happy with it and
- 17:10then they were running a little bit behind.
- 17:12It's like I had my pressure. On, although they end up giving
- 17:14you it. I think we started, we were on
- 17:18the track for half 11 at night. And so I think it started like
- 17:2325 to 12 or something like that. It was very, very, yeah, a
- 17:26unique. It's hard to get yourself going
- 17:28at that time. And so yeah, anyway, went out
- 17:35there was like 30 in the heat as well, so very big fields.
- 17:39So went out anyway. And I was very conservative and
- 17:42the 1st 200 were conservative. I went through in a 32 and I was
- 17:46like nearly at the back. So they had the boys went out
- 17:49hard. And then I'd planned to go off a
- 17:51little bit easier and work my way through and I basically done
- 17:55that. It's just it was so, so strung
- 17:57out. 32 is pretty spicy though, right?
- 18:01Yeah, exactly. So what the front lines going
- 18:03through and like 2830, yeah. So, umm, ideally, if the field
- 18:09is smaller, you can gauge your effort better because I can see
- 18:13like how far back I am, whereas it was just a big train.
- 18:16Umm, so and like you couldn't even see the timing.
- 18:21Do you know that the timing things on the side of the track?
- 18:25Because like I was on the outside of lane one and there
- 18:28was like like a crowded people in front of you.
- 18:30Like you actually just couldn't see.
- 18:32So you're sort of running blind. But anyway, like I didn't do too
- 18:35bad. Like I felt good.
- 18:37I sort of slowly moved through the field.
- 18:40I just ideally would have been like to be a bit further.
- 18:42And yeah, came home in 1415. So it's a track PB, but yeah, it
- 18:50is what it is. Brussels.
- 18:53Tiny bit of a shit hole, mostly going back.
- 18:56But yeah, I'm the Belgian listeners.
- 19:02The the race itself though, based on because where did you
- 19:07finish maybe 9th or so there? I was 7th and within all of the.
- 19:12Yeah. For I was 99th.
- 19:15Yeah. Well is that, is that right
- 19:17between all You see all the people say that.
- 19:19So between the main program, all the people around the male 5 Ki
- 19:23was 99, yeah. And then but then of the in your
- 19:27race though, like because you unfortunately you unfortunately
- 19:31couldn't put in say 1415 as a say time you put in what 1430?
- 19:36But 14? But it didn't play out too badly
- 19:40in the sense of like when I looked at the results, it was it
- 19:42looked and it rains like it was quite close some of these guys.
- 19:46Yeah, yeah, like I was in the cracked heat, like it was grand
- 19:50and the win around like 1407. Yeah.
- 19:54So like it was pretty good. It's just I had like two more.
- 19:56Like I think I finished, I finished like a 62.
- 19:59So like had like I probably had like a great yeah, but leads me
- 20:02to believe like I had more in the race.
- 20:04I could have gave a little bit more in the race.
- 20:06But you only just is only second up from a you know it's on the
- 20:10second race back, right? It's sort of.
- 20:11Yeah, that's my first five Ki was thinking it's my first track
- 20:145K since last August or. You need like 3, you know, I
- 20:19like to, to work out how much you can, how much is the right
- 20:22amount to suffer, you know, like it's not, it's a strange feeling
- 20:26because it feels too fast, but then it's not maybe fast enough,
- 20:31you know? Yeah.
- 20:33So yeah. And how do like 6860 sevens feel
- 20:37in the middle of a race? Umm, it was more like because I
- 20:41made-up like a lot on the last lap it's more like 696869 yeah I
- 20:47don't think I hit 70. It was mostly like 60 nines.
- 20:49Umm look, it was it was weird like I wouldn't say they felt
- 20:55comfortable. I thought they would have felt
- 20:56easier. Umm but yeah like they're.
- 21:00So the whole weekend was it was it was a wild weekend as which
- 21:05I'll go into in the no agenda show.
- 21:07But yeah, look, I can't really complain.
- 21:10Like a few little things could have went better.
- 21:12But like there's an another Belgian meet on the week after
- 21:17nationals. I think it's the first week of
- 21:18August and like I won't be doing that 100% because apparently
- 21:21that's on later. Like I just find it very hard to
- 21:23get yourself up. Like you're waiting around all
- 21:26day. It was so warm.
- 21:27It was just very hard to it just wasn't ideal.
- 21:32Basically like even the fact that like you to full day's food
- 21:37in your in your sis. I don't know.
- 21:39It's just if I wouldn't have done it again.
- 21:42Yeah, like if I knew it was on that late, I probably wouldn't
- 21:45have done it in the first place. Like I did not realize it's
- 21:47going to be freaking 25 to 12. Like doing your cooldown the
- 21:51next day. Basically I've done my cooldown.
- 21:53It was like Sunday morning. Learning experience nonetheless.
- 21:57And I mean like it's. No one can tell you that a.
- 22:01Time that you're not amazed, amazed with yourself is a great
- 22:04time if you don't want it to be bought. 1415 is incredibly fast.
- 22:09So yeah, if if you're not happy with that, then that's a sign of
- 22:13where you're at in your own head, isn't it?
- 22:15Yeah, yeah, that's the thing. So no, look, I'm still going in
- 22:20the right direction, thank God. And I think I was, I was the
- 22:22second Irish. So only a manual Murphy was like
- 22:25faster of the iris that went over, which is yeah, no, it's
- 22:30all right. And the results page, how cool
- 22:33in terms of the the lists in terms of because it has which
- 22:36country represented. Yeah, yeah, it is pretty cool.
- 22:40My, it was so cool seeing all the different nationalities.
- 22:42Like I definitely seen someone from like nearly every country
- 22:45in Europe there. It was so, so cool.
- 22:47And like the whole vibe, like you just see runners everywhere.
- 22:50It's yeah, cool. So in in your full recap on the
- 22:55No Agenda show, we get the whole travel experience.
- 22:58Sounds like there's a few few stories heading there.
- 23:01Yeah, fucking ball like got dropped into the ghetto.
- 23:06I got dropped into the ghetto basically.
- 23:09That's what happens when you book your accommodation on low
- 23:12to high, which is why I'm usually there as well.
- 23:19Yeah. And I'll go more into like how I
- 23:21felt in the race and the split and all.
- 23:23Yeah, there was. There was more, a little bit
- 23:24more to it. All right, HBF then, which was
- 23:29about a. Kilometer away from where I
- 23:33live. So for contacts for people
- 23:36overseas listeners, this is one of Perth's biggest fun runs or
- 23:40charity runs. But as with that become that
- 23:43comes the like the serious end of the field and people like us
- 23:47and race it as well. So I think there's for a record
- 23:5140,000 participants this weekend split across 3 distances, which
- 23:55is a three KA12K which is a bit of a random distance and a half
- 24:01marathon. So the half marathon was the 1st
- 24:06event to kick off I think 6:30 in the morning and they had
- 24:11about 8500, which is like a lot of people really.
- 24:17And the men's race was won by Luke Burroughs in 6554, followed
- 24:23by Matt Smith 2nd place 6646 and 3rd place Andrew Hellbush 6652.
- 24:31Andrew is coached by Zander who done the lactate chat with me a
- 24:36couple weeks back. Nick Thompson, professional
- 24:40triathlete was also in fourth place and 5th place James
- 24:44O'Neill, triathlete from front runner as well running 67 and 69
- 24:48respectively. So add them more evidence to the
- 24:52claim that these triathletes can actually run.
- 24:56Female winner and a half marathon was near a jarab in one
- 25:01hour 1927 Rebecca toward the chap.
- 25:05Rebecca toward the club. Club in one hour 2106 Sorry
- 25:10Rebecca and Jules Bennett that Jules is front runner athlete as
- 25:15well. One hour 2129 Lauren French 4th
- 25:18and Kenneth Rogers first. So yeah those guys set off 6:00
- 25:24AM they would go out and back like 5 Ki think it is down the
- 25:28river there on Mount Bay Road and then pretty much join the
- 25:34rest of the 12 K course. So the 12 K is do the last 12 K
- 25:40of the half marathon. Half marathon is go out and do a
- 25:4310K beforehand, which means that. 12K has started.
- 25:48What time was it? 815, which is lucky because I
- 25:52was I was up at like half forks. I got into my own head about
- 25:57this nitrate thing and I started Googling about this brushing
- 26:01your teeth conspiracy, which I was telling you about Owen.
- 26:04And apparently if you brush your teeth after having the nitrate,
- 26:10it like neutralizes the bloody reaction that turns the nitrate
- 26:14into whatever the hell it does in your blood.
- 26:18So the advice was you need to brush your teeth beforehand so
- 26:24that like it's out the way because obviously you don't want
- 26:26to be going to a race having not brush your teeth full stop.
- 26:30So you also need to leave enough time between brushing your teeth
- 26:34and having the shot that like all the what's in the chemical
- 26:40and toothpaste like alkaline, is it all of that's kind of
- 26:43dissipated. So you need to create this
- 26:45stupid window. I'm there at half four in the
- 26:47morning, brushing my teeth. Is this all through Mr. ChatGPT?
- 26:55Like how did you? Yeah, Sammy, I don't know why
- 27:01I'm even talking about this. I was trying to do the 12K
- 27:03results. Now this is fine.
- 27:08I was trying to maximize the benefit of this nitrate shop
- 27:11anyway, and then because Gnomeo has to fit into the window as
- 27:16well. Oh, it's just getting
- 27:18overcomplicated, isn't? It oh, this is to Owen's point
- 27:22about when they alter the race schedule.
- 27:25We've got that many different. Can you imagine the stress I was
- 27:28under trying to time or like I didn't even know what he always
- 27:31in because I'd they, they put me in seated at the start as a
- 27:361430, but then I tried to get my Belfast time, which is the
- 27:39equivalent of a 1415. So I didn't even know what he
- 27:42said I was going to be in. And yeah, it was an absolute
- 27:45disaster. Well, because of the, the
- 27:50terrible medical emergency that had happened in the half
- 27:53marathon, we were all stood on the start line waiting to start
- 27:57for the 12 K and they delayed the start because, like, the
- 28:01ambulance was out there and whatever.
- 28:03And we obviously had no idea that that was going on.
- 28:05But me and Luke were saying like, oh, on, on.
- 28:10No, mere window is like passing now.
- 28:16So I think some of these supplements, yeah, they're
- 28:18starting to get into our heads a little bit too much maybe.
- 28:22You may better off just skipping it if it's if you don't know
- 28:25what time it's not set in stone and just scrap it.
- 28:29That'll just take 2. Yeah, but the the 12K race and
- 28:35the results. Reese Harris won in 3753 from
- 28:39Dante Armstrong in 3803, Lachlan L Ansari in 3811, yours truly
- 28:47Ryan Greenwood in 4th 3821 and Liam Darbengo 5th 3822.
- 28:53You see, I had to read 5 names out so I could include myself in
- 28:58the first. Non podium getter best loser.
- 29:02The women Debbie Donald won in 4334, Jackie Artus second and
- 29:074436 and Amy Buckingham third in 4440.
- 29:12LB Hanson and Adele Gleason 4th and 5th and 18,000 people done
- 29:17the 12 K which is. A.
- 29:20Little bit surprising to me that there was so many more people
- 29:23would choose to do the 12 Ki know it's a little bit more
- 29:26accessible for kind of like the last serious runners in that
- 29:29it's not having to do a full half marathon.
- 29:32But my kind of like take on it is you don't you don't get
- 29:38anything solid to take away from it in the half marathon.
- 29:42You get 1/2 marathon PB was 12 K.
- 29:46It's kind of neither here nor there.
- 29:48But anyway, I guess this event happens every year in Perth.
- 29:52So people just compare their 2026 time to their 2025 time.
- 29:59There's also 3K, which I think is largely done by like juniors
- 30:03and families and they do a slightly different route.
- 30:06They just dash down the terrace. I don't have the results of that
- 30:11to hand. But I'm going on.
- 30:15Yeah, I was just going to ask you, how did your race plan out?
- 30:18Like, how'd you feel? Oh well, I know.
- 30:24I guess I'm not too not embarrassed to say when I was
- 30:28stood there on the start line and there was like, there's no
- 30:32share though. There's no Rambo looking around
- 30:36like I don't know, do you dare to dream?
- 30:39Like if if say like I hadn't have thought about the prospect
- 30:44or the opportunity that there's a potential to win, I would have
- 30:48walked away. And then like you potentially
- 30:52missed an opportunity where you didn't even like give yourself
- 30:55the chance to think about what might happen out there or what
- 30:59you might have to do to have a shot at it.
- 31:01And like, imagine how much regret you would have if you'd
- 31:04like, just didn't even realize there was an opportunity
- 31:07basically. So I was aware that the
- 31:10basically there wasn't anyone standout who was clearly going
- 31:14to run away with it. But then after 100 meters, it
- 31:18looked like there was because Reese put 20 meters into
- 31:22everyone else. And we're all clearly looking
- 31:24around at each other, like too scared to do anything about it.
- 31:27And Reese being like crazy triathlete, he's just gone.
- 31:31Well, if no one else wants to win it, I'm going to go and win
- 31:33it. And yeah, it goes 5 seconds
- 31:36ahead instantly. And then there's a Chase pack
- 31:39of, I think there was seven or eight of us what ran together
- 31:42for like 3 or 4K, all perhaps assumingly or arrogantly
- 31:48thinking maybe Reese might come back.
- 31:51And particularly when I see him that he done that 125 K ride on
- 31:56the Saturday, I was like, there is no chance he's going to hold
- 32:00this. Which one of us in this Chase
- 32:03Park is going to be strongest to go and win the race at the end?
- 32:07But after about 5K and 6K7K, the gap is slowly extending and
- 32:13you're like starting to realize that he has got it in his
- 32:16locker. So yeah, I was incredibly
- 32:19impressed with Reese's run there.
- 32:23How did you feel? I always find that part when
- 32:26you're coming out of the tunnel challenging to stay engaged and
- 32:31often the pack can splinter a bit if there is one.
- 32:33How did you find that part? Yes, So you pre warned me about
- 32:37that, hadn't you like the kind of coming out of the tunnel as
- 32:40one of the toughest parts? And when we went into the
- 32:44tunnel, Liam Dardango, I think no Liam Camus do went on the
- 32:48front and looked like he was trying to bridge this gap to
- 32:52Reese because I think the tunnel is a slight incline as well and
- 32:57it's a bit warmer in there, isn't it?
- 33:00So I was like, OK, let's make the most of the opportunity that
- 33:04he's trying to close the gap and try to help him out.
- 33:08And then once we came out, the hill kind of continues extending
- 33:13a little bit, doesn't it? And I did recognize that maybe
- 33:17there was eight of us up to that point.
- 33:20And then if you towards the front of the group, obviously
- 33:23you can't see who's in in it or who isn't in it, but you can
- 33:27kind of hear the difference between 10 people and five
- 33:30people. So like because we carried on
- 33:34press in a little bit, I think a couple of people shook off there
- 33:38and one guy even stepped off. That's only about 4K and he said
- 33:42to the front of the park, LED it for like 100 meters and then
- 33:46just stepped off. And because in the group there
- 33:49was like 3 or 4 lads in Rams vests.
- 33:52I was like shit of these organized themselves a pacemaker
- 33:56for 4K to get them through the sun.
- 33:59But they will deny that. So yet then, yeah, once we
- 34:04crested that hill, I was kind of going pretty strong down the
- 34:09downhill, but always just using reefs and the gap as a reference
- 34:13as to how well we were going or not, and the gap just wasn't
- 34:16changing. It's hard to kind of use you
- 34:19watch as a gauge for effort or pace because it's kind of
- 34:23undulate and you've just been in the tunnel.
- 34:25Your GPS is skewed. I was using heart rate mainly
- 34:30and the gap which wasn't giving me much positive feedback
- 34:33despite the effort level rising and the heart rate rising.
- 34:37Was it? Was it a bit higher?
- 34:39Was it noticeably higher than bridges?
- 34:42Yeah, I think so, because I looked in the tunnel and it was
- 34:46maybe 170, like 2 or something. I was like, oh, I mean, this is
- 34:52OK if it stays here, but if it's going to do the natural drift,
- 34:56then I might be in trouble at some point.
- 34:59But by that point I was also like, well, I'm kind of in the
- 35:02race, so fuck it, let's just race the race and then I won't
- 35:05have any regrets. I'll just know I've overcooked
- 35:08it slightly and it was a conscious decision to do so, so
- 35:12I can live with them. Consequences.
- 35:14And then yeah, once we come off by Optus, Liam, Camus, do I
- 35:19think he knew his chance at kind of being successful was to make
- 35:24it hard for people before it got towards the end.
- 35:27So he's went on the front and run like 306305308.
- 35:33And by this point I'm like, Oh my God, I could definitely be in
- 35:36trouble here. Yeah, but I'd kind of committed
- 35:40to it by then. So I was like, I'm just going to
- 35:41hang on until I can't. And there's a couple of moments
- 35:45where, you know, you almost concede mentally and you're
- 35:47like, oh, this is this is too much.
- 35:49Or if you are a little bit over obsessive with your heart rate,
- 35:53you see your heart rate maybe a little bit too high and there's
- 35:57a couple of moments where I let like a 5m gap build going on.
- 36:02Yeah, I like, why are you looking at your hair here?
- 36:09I don't know because this is. Between around 2/3 into the
- 36:14race, so there's still like 4K or so to go and I'm like, I
- 36:17can't fully like release it, yes.
- 36:21Yeah. But I think that's where you
- 36:23need to just use your gut feeling.
- 36:27Yeah. Like I think like it was if I
- 36:31wore my heart right there, did a night, I guarantee it would be
- 36:34higher than normal. Like it's just the race.
- 36:36Like races elevate everything, like even performance.
- 36:40So if you really feel like you're limiting yourself by
- 36:44letting a fucking watch dictate, Oh my God, my hair is high so I
- 36:47must be trying hard. Like I feel like it's dictating
- 36:50how you feel and it shouldn't. Now that that is true and it's a
- 36:55fairpoint, I think I was trying to use it as like a cross
- 36:58reference to almost support the decisions I was making in the
- 37:02race or like give me a bit of a sense check.
- 37:06Because what I was really conscious of was I was happy to
- 37:09race hard and have a go, but I didn't really want to embarrass
- 37:12myself enough to crawl home for the sake of being an idiot.
- 37:16And in my second race where I've only got couple of decent weeks
- 37:20training behind me, I've stood on the start line and thought
- 37:23you've got a chance of racing this right towards the front and
- 37:27you've just gone and blown yourself up like a press.
- 37:30I had to keep some sort of dignity in the heart rate was
- 37:34just because I'm so dialed in. So at the minute I mean anyway
- 37:37I'm making a few excuses with the heart race when the 5m or so
- 37:45gaps would build and I would like shit myself a little bit.
- 37:50I then quickly said to myself like stop being a pussy and
- 37:54quickly re bridge those gaps. And then after those couple of
- 38:01hard KS what Liam had put in, I think he he almost blew himself
- 38:04up a bit because then to the two of the younger lads who ended up
- 38:09finishing second and third, they'd continued to push at the
- 38:12pace that he'd probably sat. I was probably hanging on
- 38:16somewhere in the middle trying to hold that effort and pace,
- 38:20and I think he then almost spent his effort and maybe struggled
- 38:24to cling on a little bit. So then coming back over that
- 38:29bridge in towards the city, at that point, you know physically
- 38:35that the finish line is only over the bridge.
- 38:38But I'm looking at the signs and they're like in half marathon
- 38:42distances and my watch is out of sync because of the tunnel.
- 38:45So I don't know, like literally how long we've got left to race.
- 38:48And I haven't done the course before, so I didn't know.
- 38:51Do we go straight into this pitch?
- 38:54But then we started winding round the outside of the stadium
- 38:57and awesome thinking is like, just get us into this park.
- 39:00So I know that there's about two minutes left.
- 39:02Please just turn in, turn in and there's still this other Liam,
- 39:07Liam Dardengo right behind me, which was keeping me honest.
- 39:12But I would have much rather that he wasn't there.
- 39:15So I could have took it a little bit easier because although I
- 39:18know at this point I'm racing for the to hold the position I'm
- 39:21in, I still didn't want to just concede that.
- 39:24So we get into the track and it's on like that soft soil
- 39:29almost, isn't it? Fine blue metal.
- 39:34But by this point, you've, well, I've overlooked the part where
- 39:38you're weaving in and out of the half marathoners for the past 15
- 39:41minutes, which is it probably helps retain your position in
- 39:45that it's hard for us to race each other and we're just like
- 39:48kind of sneaking following the leader.
- 39:50I think that's common that you sort of by the time you get out
- 39:53of the tunnel, because the tunnel you can sort of pick your
- 39:55lines opposite people. But then by the time you get out
- 39:57of there, you're running wide, getting up over Optus.
- 40:01It's a real mess, really messy section of race and you're so
- 40:05you're pretty gassed. You're pretty gassed after 6K.
- 40:08And so then that's 6 to 11 is hijacker, you're up on curbs.
- 40:12It's all, it's quite. It's a bit messy, isn't it?
- 40:17Yeah. And so, like, you just follow
- 40:19the leader almost and just make sure you don't run clean into
- 40:23the back of someone who's just taken the half marathon.
- 40:25Pretty easy. And it's probably not a good
- 40:28experience for them because you're causing some of them
- 40:31quite a shock, the difference in speed which you pass them.
- 40:35And they're obviously not expecting anyone to be coming
- 40:37because you're right at the front of the race.
- 40:39So you're almost the first person to pass them.
- 40:41And there's a group of five steaming.
- 40:44And like there's such a golf and speed, they're like it can
- 40:46actually like be a bit scary because normally like use my go
- 40:51one side. You might go one side lab
- 40:52behind, you might go the other side like you're sort of like it
- 40:56is a bit dangerous. Yeah, I don't know what the
- 40:59answer is, what the fix is, because thankfully I've been
- 41:02warned. And the interesting thing is
- 41:05everyone seems to know and accepts that happens because I
- 41:10looked at my watch at the first time that we crossed some of the
- 41:14half marathoners, so I knew for interest, and it was 1.6 K into
- 41:19our 12K race. We hit the first half
- 41:22marathoners, which like Dean said is fine for a while because
- 41:25you're on such open Rd. on the freeway, you can just avoid them
- 41:28and they can avoid you. But then yeah, on that river
- 41:31path and where it starts becoming more dense, it's pretty
- 41:36dangerous. Like I reckon a lot of them I
- 41:40didn't like make contact with anyone.
- 41:42But naturally people will have like clipped elbows and stuff.
- 41:46Has to pass some people which like let put an aside the
- 41:52selfish Pratts at the front of the race who are trying to run
- 41:54fast for their own bloody egos. For those who are just enjoying
- 41:581/2 marathon, getting clipped and hit by people as they're
- 42:03just strolling towards the finish line can't be very nice
- 42:06either. And a lot of them wear earphones
- 42:09as well, so they don't even know you're coming.
- 42:12Yeah. So yeah, I don't know what the
- 42:16answer is, but it seems it's it always happens.
- 42:20So yeah, going into it to the stadium must be like the last
- 42:25and no 6 to 800 meters a gas. And this Liam, who's behind me
- 42:31passed me with what must have been about 300 meters to go.
- 42:36And for some reason, at that point, I wasn't on the verge of
- 42:40giving up like I was earlier. So like, got on the back of him
- 42:43and knew I had like one more chance to kind of retake the
- 42:47position, which I must have went about 200 to go.
- 42:50And then as soon as I committed to doing it, I was like, why
- 42:54have you gone again so early? Like you've given him the chance
- 42:58to repass you again. There's like 3040 seconds of
- 43:02running left here. You've just made it so much
- 43:04harder for yourself because it just been a little bitch and
- 43:08waited on him for like 20 meters and just snuck past.
- 43:12But he gave me some positive reassurance when I did pass him
- 43:16in that he burst out and went. Fact.
- 43:21Told me that I knew he had nothing left so that was quite
- 43:26funny. A nice way to finish but there's
- 43:33from race good experience. Doesn't over in the bag lad, you
- 43:39come on so much from this. Yeah.
- 43:42So I think we'd like, we were to split 10K, which is the gauge
- 43:45that I'm using somewhere 32 dead or just shy of 32 minutes.
- 43:51So it's pretty strong improvement from Diane to death
- 43:56over 33 minutes. And Bridges, hopefully we just
- 44:00got to keep the trajectory going.
- 44:03Yeah, that's pretty. That's pretty wholesale. 6
- 44:06seconds in a month, 6 seconds OK.
- 44:10When did the other lads get away from you?
- 44:14They could you have hung on if you were like, if you weren't
- 44:17looking at your fucking heart, right?
- 44:21Probably not really because what the gap in the end it's like 10
- 44:25seconds to 3rd and 20 seconds to 2nd.
- 44:28But like The thing is, this isn't an excuse.
- 44:31See, that's because it's probably helped me with my
- 44:33position and versus the people behind.
- 44:36But when someone does steal a little gap because you are then
- 44:39just weaving through this crowd and stuff, it's like it's it's
- 44:43hard to regain it. Yeah.
- 44:45So like there's a moment where Liam can you do like proper took
- 44:51the apex on this corner where then there was like 4 people who
- 44:55were just jogging the half marathon or going round at the
- 44:58same time. All of us had to go wide round
- 45:00and and he then searched out the corner and all of a sudden he's
- 45:03got like 10 meters out of nowhere.
- 45:06So it's just like a different dynamic to the racing as well.
- 45:09You've got to be smart with it and mentally engaged as well as
- 45:13physically able. But nice hit.
- 45:17Oh, no pressure or comparisons because it was just a 12K race.
- 45:22And yeah, I'm happy that I made the decision to like almost
- 45:26gamble and see what the limit was rather than run
- 45:31conservatively. Like, no, I know my threshold is
- 45:333 minute 12. I must not go past that.
- 45:36I know I was using heart rate as a reference but.
- 45:41Yeah. No, for a break.
- 45:45Where we going to next? China.
- 45:48China. Yeah.
- 45:49And Becky also completed the race.
- 45:51She put a bib on. It was it was sad for the chief
- 45:54cheerleader not to be out there and, you know, very selfish, you
- 45:59know, pursuits. And you like to have you getting
- 46:03eyes on hand. With fresh blazer and water
- 46:05bottle at the end. Exactly as there's no one
- 46:08waiting for with a towel for me changing shoes.
- 46:11And here's a protein shake. I had to, the roles were
- 46:15reversed and I had to go and cheer her on.
- 46:17So it was an bit of a reality check.
- 46:21Yeah, it was nice. So.
- 46:22Fair play to Becky. Was she happy with her run?
- 46:26You know, it's pretty impressive.
- 46:28She's obviously not bothered wearing a watch or any of this
- 46:31stuff so she just ran off. Fail and.
- 46:34How funny. Is that you?
- 46:36Should probably do a lactate test beforehand.
- 46:39Didn't. Say, take a leaf at her book,
- 46:42right? It was just pure human effort
- 46:45distribution across 12 kilometers and then she seems to
- 46:49have managed like almost the perfect negative split, so maybe
- 46:53there is something to her. How did she how did she go
- 46:57balancing the toothbrush and the nitrates?
- 47:01Yeah, wasn't too. Engaged in any of that activity.
- 47:04You didn't give her some Namio. Wasn't prepared to do the
- 47:10lactate test and so that was the prerequisite, yes.
- 47:17So China, the Diamond League second round, almost a carbon
- 47:24copy of the fields. But don't know.
- 47:26It's a bit interesting in that you get to revisit races and
- 47:31fields week on week because it's infrequent that you get the
- 47:35direct comparison where almost you can mirror the
- 47:38circumstances, isn't it? So women's 1500 meters was won
- 47:42by Abby Caldwell 35726 from Becca Hey Lama of Ethiopia
- 47:4835779, Emily McKay of the US in 3rd 358.13 of fan favorite
- 47:57Dorcas Savoy was back and forth. Jess Hall down in fifth, Lyndon
- 48:02Hall 8th Rave Well Walcott Nolan 9th and Sarah Billings and
- 48:07Claudia Hollingsworth not having the best runs in 11th and 13th.
- 48:13Yeah, Abby's on one, isn't she? She's going well.
- 48:19It was a good race. I thought.
- 48:21Like I had a few different elements to it, like Harlem,
- 48:28like going with the pacemaker, which is like what you normally
- 48:34see either going with or going ahead of the pacemaker, like,
- 48:38you know, bordering on reckless. And so, and Sarah Billings went
- 48:43with the pacemaker too, which made it quite exciting.
- 48:45Like I felt like it made the race quite dynamic.
- 48:49And yeah, you you weren't sure if they were making the right
- 48:53call, going with such an aggressive set of aggressive
- 48:57pace or had they done it done it well or were they were the main
- 49:01group going to run them down, which they did, which was, yeah,
- 49:05I don't know. I just thought it was a very
- 49:06exciting 1500 to watch and pretty cool to have 4 Aussies or
- 49:13five Aussies in there, all of which you could mount a case for
- 49:17and not the one that I think any of us picked getting on top,
- 49:22which talks to just the depth of when Aussie women's distance
- 49:27running at the minute. After Abby's great run last
- 49:32week, we pretty much slept on. I didn't mean we've seen the
- 49:35results or how spoke about how good it was and then decided to
- 49:38do nothing about it. Yeah, I think in our predictions
- 49:42we went with Halem. We mentioned.
- 49:46Now did you go Dorcas away? I think so, yeah.
- 49:48Yeah, and then I think I went with Jess Hall, so none of us
- 49:56pick pick the winner there, albeit that it's interesting to
- 50:00see the attention people get when they win a race.
- 50:02Like I feel like Abby's been around there, like, you know,
- 50:08won a common Commonwealth Games medal, done a lot of great
- 50:10things. But then once they win, they
- 50:13then get spoken about a lot more and catch a lot more headlines.
- 50:16It's it's funny that even though her performances are so close to
- 50:19being at the top, once you win 1 you see a bit of a breakthrough.
- 50:24Yeah, like, it's weird because now I know the team hasn't been
- 50:28picked for Commonwealth Games yet, but the window closes next
- 50:32weekend, so it will soon be announced and it feels like.
- 50:36Of all the this very like. What is it?
- 50:39Flavor of the month? But Abby is almost the first
- 50:42name on the sheet ahead of Jess, isn't she?
- 50:44But right now? Yeah, if you're going to pick it
- 50:47by form, that's how you pick it, but I'm sure the selectors would
- 50:51have it the other way. Yeah.
- 50:53You're not going to pick, have you?
- 50:56How many can you pick? Is it two or three?
- 50:583. So basically it's between Abby
- 51:02and Sarah, is it? If you're assuming that Jess and
- 51:07well, Claudia is a lock, so and then you assume that Jess is
- 51:13another lock. Yeah, I would not like to be
- 51:16making that choice. I think that's why Sarah went
- 51:20with the pacemaker, because she knew she had to do something.
- 51:23I think so. I think it needed a knockout
- 51:25performance and that was the chance to do it.
- 51:27Which gutsy, gutsy running to put yourself in the position and
- 51:32with what, 200 metres to go, it was playing out like it was the
- 51:35right move. And it's so interesting that
- 51:38like the positions change a lot. And I do remember this at the
- 51:42World Championships, remember the men's were world champs.
- 51:45In particular, the men's races were, was there like 6 races
- 51:48decided by like so many tenths of a second.
- 51:52And whoever was going into I think the final straight,
- 51:55whoever entered the final straight in in front was not the
- 51:57person that finished first. So a lot can happen in that last
- 52:01100 meters and it did in that one.
- 52:05But with with how this is played out now, it makes that bloody DQ
- 52:09at nationals. So talent because the criteria
- 52:13to get selected as per I understand that is if you win
- 52:19nationals and you have the auto time, then you're a lock.
- 52:23So because Claudia warned and she's run the time, which is
- 52:27like four O 1. So they've all run the time is
- 52:29the thing here. Go run the time.
- 52:32So Claudia gets the nationals win.
- 52:34So she gets herself a lock. But if she was DQ D like she was
- 52:38initially the winner of that race was Sarah Billings.
- 52:42So that would have made Sarah a lock based on having the time
- 52:47and winning nationals, which means that you then would have
- 52:50had to choose to from Jess Hall, Claudia Hollingsworth and Abby
- 52:55Caldwell. And with Abby this week and last
- 52:59week winning head to head two weeks in a row against both of
- 53:03them, how would you have not chosen her as one of those
- 53:06positions? This is how I would have looked
- 53:10at it because, well, yeah, I just don't think he could have
- 53:13not given Abby a spot based on the fact she's beaten Jess and
- 53:17Claudia two weeks in a row. So then there's only one spot
- 53:21left for Jess or Claudia, which isn't how it's played out.
- 53:25But if the DQ was upheld like it initially was, that's how it
- 53:29potentially would have. So there would have been a fair
- 53:32bit more drama going on. I feel like either way there's
- 53:37going to be one or two unhappy camps with when this when the
- 53:42team is picked. Yeah, and then just sitting in
- 53:47the middle of it all, quietly, perhaps unassumingly, as London
- 53:50Hall. Yeah.
- 53:54The men's 5K was won by Ethiopian Adisu Yehune in a meet
- 54:00record world lead 1257, followed by Mohammed Abdullahi of
- 54:05Germany, the guy who won the 3K week prior in 1257.9 and Binny
- 54:10and Mahari, also Ethiopian 125851 in 3rd.
- 54:15Further down the field Seth O'Donnell finished in 14th and
- 54:191318. I'm not sure if you have seen
- 54:24the conditions but it was like at the time the race was run at
- 54:29least 29°, can't remember if it was 30 odd and the humidity was
- 54:3482% so hardly conducive for running fast long distance
- 54:40races. The fact that some of them are
- 54:42still able to pump out sub 13 and that is wild.
- 54:47Yeah, they're different gravy lads up the front and I'm green
- 54:51no show. Oh DNF.
- 54:54He stepped off after about 3K. Which the commentators didn't
- 55:00even acknowledge. I was watching the lead pack one
- 55:04lap. Who's there next lap?
- 55:05He wasn't and I was thought I was going crazy for like a
- 55:08couple of laps. I was waiting for either the
- 55:10commentators to say something or to see him walking back across
- 55:14the track to confirm and it wasn't till seen his Instagram
- 55:18post really and he's he mentions having legs like concrete blocks
- 55:23or something from the 3K the week prior.
- 55:29Usually I would like. I'd love to know what his
- 55:32training looks like between the race on the Saturday, wasn't it
- 55:38Saturday and then this one today Because I feel like he'd likes
- 55:42to keep some bit of intensity within the week.
- 55:46But it's just like how much would he have kept?
- 55:49And that could have been he might have done too much and
- 55:51which results in your legs feeling like shit.
- 55:54And obviously the weather plays a massive pair.
- 55:57Yes, theory. My theory opinion would be that
- 56:00he's made, he's one of them who probably looking at the big
- 56:03picture and trying to carry some load through these early races.
- 56:07And hence why he's probably pulled up feeling like absolute
- 56:10shift because he's probably maybe done a bit of a session,
- 56:13perhaps too much of A session in the week.
- 56:16And because last week was his first race hasn't been able to
- 56:19recover properly in time for this.
- 56:22So those Ethiopian fellas, when they're on the front, they and
- 56:26you look at like some of the Europeans say Europeans, there's
- 56:30like none in this race. But compared to The Ethiopians
- 56:34particularly, people look like they're really struggling in the
- 56:38humid conditions. And I remember looking at that
- 56:41Binny and Mahari whilst he was on the front and he just looked
- 56:44like he was doing a warm up. Yeah, damn, Ethiopians are.
- 56:52Although is that Mohammed Abdullah for, you know, nearly
- 56:57went back-to-back. So talking about people that
- 57:00were able to back it up from the 3K, he I thought he was very
- 57:04impressive and I think maybe did he break the German national
- 57:08record? No, he couldn't have, couldn't
- 57:11have. It's only got a season's best
- 57:13next to his result. But you know, I think he, maybe
- 57:15he is the Red German record holder.
- 57:18So what's his PB? I think I mentioned it in the
- 57:22broadcast in the 50s I thought. But yeah, he ran.
- 57:26What was he, 6/10 of a second off off?
- 57:29The win was it was a good run. He took it to took it to the
- 57:32Ethiopian, so the whole way. It's crazy when you look at this
- 57:37and Ryan, you mentioned the conditions and then you go
- 57:40across to America where the conditions were probably way
- 57:43more favorable and it's not near as deep.
- 57:47The levels that's, yeah, that, yeah, I mean this, the quality
- 57:51of this field is outrageous. It's hard to comprehend how many
- 57:57fast runners there is actually. I don't know, Like there were so
- 58:02many events on last weekend and there's like fast runners
- 58:07running everywhere. I don't know.
- 58:09It's crazy. Yeah, it's a good point.
- 58:11It's good, good sports doing very well.
- 58:15You think in your own little bubble that you're good, and
- 58:18then you zoom out and get some sort of contextual reality check
- 58:22and it's just like, mind blowing.
- 58:24Yeah, exactly. I don't know, does that segue us
- 58:30to the sound running mate? Yeah, let's do it.
- 58:35I might just jump because we're on the track.
- 58:37So for context, the top three, we're all under 13 minutes at
- 58:43the Diamond League and 10th was under 1310.
- 58:49And then if we contract, contrast that with the sound
- 58:54running LA Track Fest, we had just one person break 13 minutes
- 59:01and that was the winner had Tom Samuel, who we've spoke about a
- 59:05few times. Yeah.
- 59:06College kid. Yeah, I mean, he, I don't know
- 59:11if you guys. Yeah.
- 59:12So this race, but there was some pacemaking done early by some
- 59:16top, top college athletes that set the race up pretty well.
- 59:21And there were a few names in this race, some familiar names
- 59:24like Woody Kincaid, Adam Fogg, Morgan McDonald, Dylan Jacobs,
- 59:28Drew Hunter, Jackson Sharp, Gulveer Singh to to name some of
- 59:33them. So the athletes were definitely
- 59:36there, but as soon as the pacemakers dropped out, it
- 59:41pretty much it cleared out pretty quickly like Hab Tom.
- 59:45And they had their pacing lights there, which I think we're,
- 59:48which is just such a great feature, particularly say if
- 59:51you're in Hab Tom's shoes where you've got no one helping you,
- 59:56you're there to run. And that was the record I was
- 59:58thinking about. He ran a Eritrean record, I'm
- 1:00:01pretty sure. So I think the Eritrean record
- 1:00:04was 1259. He ran 1257.
- 1:00:07And now the commentators were comment commenting on Kenny
- 1:00:10break his own 5K record, I think, which was 13 O3 NCAA
- 1:00:15record and can he go 13? And then Kenny break the Eritrea
- 1:00:19national record and he he did all of them.
- 1:00:22And you can key, you can work out exactly where he's at.
- 1:00:24I mean, obviously it's the splits 30, you know, are there,
- 1:00:28but those lights for him are giving him constant feedback.
- 1:00:33And yeah, he ran everyone off off their feet pretty early.
- 1:00:35But for Gulvia Singh was there for the majority just started to
- 1:00:42tie up in the last closing laps. Probably 3 laps was when Hab Tom
- 1:00:46started to go solo but held on pretty well.
- 1:00:50The other athlete that was running who was probably it was
- 1:00:53running tough who wanted to go with the pacemakers for as long
- 1:00:56as they could was the Aussie Jackson Sharp.
- 1:00:58He was more prominent than Morgan McDonald.
- 1:01:00So we spoke about Morgan wanting doing the breaking 13 as a
- 1:01:04YouTube series. He was, you know how he's often
- 1:01:07fairly cautious, takes a fairly cautious approach and moves
- 1:01:10through the pack. He kept doing that, but you can
- 1:01:12see once you've fired a few bickies, you know, just bridging
- 1:01:15those gaps and you would have felt this Owen, you know, if
- 1:01:17you're trying to close that gap and the effort required in terms
- 1:01:20of firing shots on those laps, trying to just tighten the
- 1:01:23screws, tighten the screws, but you're on your rivet.
- 1:01:26And then eventually what you find is then rather than trying
- 1:01:28to move around another one, you just sit behind whoever you've
- 1:01:31caught up to because you're just like, I'm just and so that's
- 1:01:33what happened. And then for him, the that that
- 1:01:36chase group sort of formed at one point, but have Tom's there
- 1:01:39just at the front just bang, bang, bang on 13 minute pace.
- 1:01:43And yeah, those guys, there was a group of them that ran around
- 1:01:45that 3010. Jackson Sharp was third in 1305,
- 1:01:49which I thought was a very good run.
- 1:01:50And Drew Hunter nearly closed him down.
- 1:01:52He's always got a pretty strong kick.
- 1:01:54But yeah, an exciting race. But have Tom was the highlight
- 1:01:57for sure. Great summary.
- 1:02:00And it just shows how the Diamond Leagues are literally
- 1:02:05the best of the best. Isn't it?
- 1:02:06Like when you've done that comparison because some of these
- 1:02:09names on in this LA meet, you would get really excited about
- 1:02:12seeing them. And then the fact that, yeah,
- 1:02:15only have Tom was, I say, able to break 30 in as if it's a mild
- 1:02:19achievement, but he was the only one who was sub 13 compared to
- 1:02:23that Diamond League. My natural thought is can they
- 1:02:27get Hab Tom into one of these Diamond League races?
- 1:02:31Like I think he might have had trouble with his National
- 1:02:34Federation getting into world champs but like these are the
- 1:02:37Diamond League final will be like a world championship final.
- 1:02:41Get him into some of these diamond legs.
- 1:02:44Hopefully he's at Prefontaine. When is he finished?
- 1:02:47Well, when's NCAA's? Is in his last year of
- 1:02:51eligibility, isn't he? Yeah, because he just needs to
- 1:02:54go on the pro scene. He just needs to start cleaning,
- 1:02:56cleaning up. He's bullying little kids at
- 1:02:59this stage. I just googled him because from
- 1:03:04looking at him I just thought he was like 25 or something and
- 1:03:07he's only 22 which. 22 years old?
- 1:03:13No way. Isn't that mad?
- 1:03:17And he's the scariest part is he's run what was his half
- 1:03:21marathon 59 mid. And he's 22 years old or
- 1:03:26something like that. Yeah.
- 1:03:29What that I taught you 26? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:34I thought it'd like extended eligibility through like having
- 1:03:38a sabbatical or whatever they do.
- 1:03:41Oh my God, that's mind boggling. And the second thing I was going
- 1:03:48to say Jackson Sharks at 1305 it puts him 6th on the Australian
- 1:03:54all time list. So the only people to have ever
- 1:03:57run faster than Jackson Shaw is Morgan McDonald, Jack Rayner,
- 1:04:02Kai Robinson, Stew Mcswain and Kai Mottram, which is pretty
- 1:04:06bizarre. We need to put some respect on
- 1:04:09Jackson Sharp's name. He's good.
- 1:04:16Hawker and easy Elise Hooker. I'd say Adam Fogg wouldn't have
- 1:04:22been too happy with that result. I think he would have been
- 1:04:25expecting more but like this is first track race of the year as
- 1:04:29well so hopefully more to come from him.
- 1:04:32Friended show. We go to the women's one.
- 1:04:36Yeah, and the women's, in the women's race, Parker Valby was
- 1:04:41the standout performer in her first race back since 2024 Paris
- 1:04:46Olympics. So she was like a a bit of a
- 1:04:51phenom in her NCAA career, very like dominated and then
- 1:04:57qualified for the Paris Olympics for the five Ki Don't know if
- 1:05:03she'd finished college or if she was just she was, I think she
- 1:05:06might have signed a deal around that time.
- 1:05:08So this is a couple of years ago now, but quite a large deal
- 1:05:11coming out of college with New Balance, but then had been
- 1:05:16pretty much injured and ever since.
- 1:05:19And I remember her speaking during her NCAA period talking
- 1:05:23about how much she cross trained because I think she did.
- 1:05:27She has had a history of struggling with like, like load
- 1:05:30management. And so, yeah, in her first race
- 1:05:33back, got the win in 1449. Aussie Lauren Ryan was second in
- 1:05:371453 and Elise Stearns was 301455 S Top five were all under
- 1:05:4315 minutes. Morty Skyring was six in 1503.
- 1:05:47So yeah, pretty strong running like, I mean, whenever you're
- 1:05:53under 15 minutes in a, in one of the women's traces, that feels
- 1:05:57very similar to like the men's 13 minute barrier in my mind.
- 1:06:01So some, yeah, impressive performances.
- 1:06:04You can see I love this, the way they show the splits.
- 1:06:08You can see how consistent Parker Valley was.
- 1:06:10She was in 70s or 70 ones the hallway and Lauren Ryan.
- 1:06:14Lauren Ryan was kicking hard. She finished in a 64, so she
- 1:06:18just let her. So I'd say Parker Valley was way
- 1:06:20out in front because Lauren Ryan, you can see she had a few
- 1:06:2270 twos in the middle, which just might have gapped.
- 1:06:26Bobby must have gapped her a little bit.
- 1:06:28But I say Lauren Ryan is coming like a train.
- 1:06:31That is the exact read I was just making of it.
- 1:06:33If you look from it looks like 2K Park of Albies just started
- 1:06:38one off the front by yourself and then yeah she's put finished
- 1:06:43in 64. That's wild.
- 1:06:45Yeah, that's. Good.
- 1:06:46Have you seen had Tom splits? I don't even want to look at
- 1:06:50them. 60 Flats 62. Shit look, look at Jackson
- 1:06:56Sharps clothes. He's finished in a 56 as well.
- 1:07:01Yeah, he looked like he was moving very well.
- 1:07:05But yeah, that's some men's and women's 5K.
- 1:07:07There was also a 1500 metre race on.
- 1:07:10I must admit I haven't caught any of this, but perhaps just a
- 1:07:15few notable names. So in the women's 1500, it was
- 1:07:19one in 404 by Riley Chamberlain. Notably, Shelby Houlihan was in
- 1:07:24the race was 6 in 408. So maybe a reflection of form
- 1:07:29first up. You think it's just form?
- 1:07:33Thrown out there, I wanted to say.
- 1:07:35Still unattached, Still untouched.
- 1:07:39Hopefully forever. Men's 1500 was won in Vincent by
- 1:07:44Vincent Coladi in 333. Now the some familiar names in
- 1:07:49this one Nathan Green in 2nd 333 as well, just 51 hundredths of a
- 1:07:54second behind Parker Wolf same time awarded the same time as
- 1:07:58Nathan Green, but given third Cooper tier friend of the show
- 1:08:05in fifth in fifth in 334. So and Nico Young Graham Blanks
- 1:08:10saw some commentary. I don't know if you guys saw
- 1:08:13this in the preview talking about when he last ran a 1500
- 1:08:18because he's notably A5K10K guy and they showed an image of his
- 1:08:22last 1500 and he would look like a little kid.
- 1:08:25Not that he's the most masculine man now, but it looked quite
- 1:08:28funny. But yeah, I mean, all of these
- 1:08:31guys, Jack Anstey, Liam Murphy, yeah, pretty, pretty stacked
- 1:08:371500 meter field and the times from 1st to 11th all separated
- 1:08:41by 2 1/2 seconds, which is pretty cool.
- 1:08:44That will do the likes of Graham Blanks and Nico Young absolutely
- 1:08:48no harm whatsoever. Will it do in a fast 1500 like
- 1:08:51that? Yeah, nice to say the kickers
- 1:08:55still have the have the wood over them.
- 1:08:56They would have felt, you know, they wouldn't have liked getting
- 1:08:59dusted by the distance guys. Like the old finishing a 54
- 1:09:04Graham Blanks Nico Young which is Savage wheels to have.
- 1:09:09Was it like last year on the Diamond League, did Nico Young,
- 1:09:13did he run like a fast 3K or a good 3K at some point?
- 1:09:16Because for some reason in my mind I'm, I'm looking at that
- 1:09:20result and being like, I'm quite surprised that Graham Blanks has
- 1:09:24beaten Nico Young over such a short distance.
- 1:09:28I just picture Blanks as being like more of that steady hard
- 1:09:32grinder, whereas I see Nico Young as having a bit up his
- 1:09:36sleeve in terms of pace. But maybe that's just a mad
- 1:09:39perception. No, I think you're right.
- 1:09:41I think he ran like a really fast mile in indoors, like a 347
- 1:09:45or something like that, maybe indoors, can't remember.
- 1:09:49But yeah, I'd always have Nick Young being like faster than
- 1:09:53Grand Blancs. But they're all like these boys.
- 1:09:55They're all on different like schedules, I feel.
- 1:09:58So I'd say Nick Young's under a bit more fatigue.
- 1:10:03Yeah, it's hard to know exactly, although they've literally just
- 1:10:06raced each other. Is it actually like for like,
- 1:10:08who's like prioritizing it more than the other?
- 1:10:11Where does it fit in their long term plan?
- 1:10:16And yeah, it's no matter what cupateer, no matter what race he
- 1:10:19goes to, he seems to always find himself in that like kind of
- 1:10:234th, 5th slot. And then I'm hoping his time
- 1:10:27will still come. He's got the ears up his sleeve
- 1:10:30yet. He just needs to find his
- 1:10:32distance, I feel. I feel like he's in between all
- 1:10:35of them. Yeah, Jack of all trades.
- 1:10:41Master or none? And then in the women's 801, two
- 1:10:463 was Rasheem Willis. Is it Claudia Cousin Merskaf and
- 1:10:53Raymond Rodgers? They were the in pretty fast
- 1:10:57times, 158 low for 1st and 2nd and 159 high with the top three.
- 1:11:03The women's that's that's moving again anytime those barriers,
- 1:11:06anytime you run to two minutes is is fast going and some pretty
- 1:11:11solid times again in the men's. I feel like these men's and
- 1:11:14women's 800 meter times consider stronger than the 1500m times
- 1:11:21like a 333 for a men's 1500 when we've seen Ken Myers run 329.
- 1:11:27I know that's pretty exceptional, but what did Ollie,
- 1:11:30what did Ollie run when he was chasing him down?
- 1:11:32I think it might have been there or thereabouts.
- 1:11:36You know what, what won this race in the 1500, whereas the
- 1:11:40men's 800 meters was I think a bit stronger is right One in 144
- 1:11:45low. Notably, Josh Kerr was third in
- 1:11:49there in 144 six and Jake Whiteman just behind him in
- 1:11:5214474. Bryce Hopple, Donovan Brazier
- 1:11:56both followed them in in 145 low Hobbs Kessler, 146 low very tin
- 1:12:04and croaking, croaking we in 148.
- 1:12:09So the some very fast times I feel I thought and again, a good
- 1:12:14bust Buster for the likes of Josh Kerr, Jake Whiteman a bit
- 1:12:17doing similar to what we saw Nico Young and Grand Blanks
- 1:12:20doing the 1500. These guys have going down in
- 1:12:22distance in the 800 to hopefully get some good turnover as they
- 1:12:26build into their seasons. Sharpen their tools seen a weird
- 1:12:32thing on I don't know if it was X or on Instagram.
- 1:12:35It was like a reel of the finish of this like literally the the
- 1:12:39guys like dipping for the line and then the that Brandon Miller
- 1:12:44is also represented by Brooks, same as Josh Kerr.
- 1:12:47And in the screen, it's quite zoomed in and the angle that it
- 1:12:51shows is Brandon Miller like hitting the tape 1st.
- 1:12:55And then you can see that Josh Kerr is like almost right behind
- 1:12:58him. Different for the line as well,
- 1:12:59given how close it was. And the guy who's finished
- 1:13:03second is out of the shot because it's so zoomed in.
- 1:13:06And the caption, I'm sure it was flow track who posted it.
- 1:13:09The caption is like Brooks beasts take first and 2nd and
- 1:13:14someone is like if it was on Twitter, they've like quoted
- 1:13:17tweet or if it was on Instagram, it's like the top comment.
- 1:13:20And they've been like at Abe Alvarado, you must be invisible
- 1:13:25because the flow track have just taken it as though Josh Kerr got
- 1:13:29second and this guy quite clearly is second.
- 1:13:34But yeah, doesn't, doesn't suit the narrative of Brooks Beasts
- 1:13:38taking the top 2 because that guy is unattached as well.
- 1:13:44And that is the track LA track fest from a distance
- 1:13:49perspective, European 10,000 meter.
- 1:13:52Cool. Which is, is this the one which
- 1:13:54Joe mentioned to us last week where he said a couple of
- 1:13:57European guys were on the British champs and they kinda,
- 1:14:01they knew they had another stab at a week later?
- 1:14:04Yeah. So I'm very, I actually don't
- 1:14:07know what this is because it is there's a 10K in the European
- 1:14:11Championships. So this is like a totally
- 1:14:13separate event. But I do feel like it's really
- 1:14:16good for European running 1010K running because it gives
- 1:14:21everyone like an actual a 10K track meet that you can aim for
- 1:14:26that countries can sort of send like they're up and coming
- 1:14:28runners to get a vest to get into like a championship style
- 1:14:32race, even though they were paced.
- 1:14:35But like, like just get into the whole like feeling what it's
- 1:14:38like. So yeah.
- 1:14:40And it's one of the rare occasions where because I think
- 1:14:43the women have to use a non mixed 10K race to get the
- 1:14:49qualifying standard to run in the Europeans.
- 1:14:54Well for Britain anyway. So yeah, it's a really, really
- 1:14:58cool event. And last year from get a one at
- 1:15:01this year, Baddie Cloudy was meant to run it from Italy, but
- 1:15:04apparently she got a flu or something, a flu leading up to
- 1:15:09it. So yeah, she had to pull out.
- 1:15:11And Crippa was meant to do it as well, but he didn't end up doing
- 1:15:14it either. But still in the so there's an A
- 1:15:16rate of an A race and AB race for both men and women.
- 1:15:20And again, like I said, this year was held in Italy and it
- 1:15:23was super, super warm. So I think it was like 2728°, No
- 1:15:28wind, yes. And the sun was just beating
- 1:15:31down here. So 25 laps and that doesn't
- 1:15:34sound too nice, but the male winner was from Italy, Lias
- 1:15:40Ayouni. He is the marathoner guy who
- 1:15:43wears the hat is the best way I describe them.
- 1:15:49But yeah, he ran 2750.05 and he started pulling up for the line
- 1:15:54to celebrate. Guys.
- 1:15:56He missed the Euro standard by .05.
- 1:15:59The European standard is 2750 and he ran 2750.05.
- 1:16:04You would be livid. He's done a Tommy Cross and he
- 1:16:09ran this solo. He ran this solo.
- 1:16:13Oh no. Yeah, super impressive.
- 1:16:16He's so strong from the marathon.
- 1:16:18I think he ran. He's a 204 marathoner.
- 1:16:20Yeah. So he has.
- 1:16:21He's really good, but. Imagine how live it his coaches
- 1:16:26with him. You can see such start slowing
- 1:16:29down to hands out. Why?
- 1:16:32Did he, Did he not think? I don't know, I don't know, I
- 1:16:36don't know. Umm, yeah, crazy.
- 1:16:40Umm the male B winner was umm from UK Matthew Ramsden.
- 1:16:45He ran a 2911 and yeah, he this was sitting kicks.
- 1:16:50He just sat behind. I want to say he was check or
- 1:16:54Swiss and umm yeah, 150 go just out kick some and but yeah, for
- 1:16:58the lice and Matthew Rams and to like get a medal in a British
- 1:17:01vest. Even though it's the B race,
- 1:17:02it's still like it's such a good experience on he'll he'll take a
- 1:17:06lows from it. The women's one.
- 1:17:09This is a really cool story. So in the a winner was Elizabeth
- 1:17:13Glinka from Poland. So she ran 3145.
- 1:17:18Now I might be correct here. Well, she is relatively new to
- 1:17:22running. I think over the last year and a
- 1:17:24half she started and she started off like a 90 minute half.
- 1:17:28And now she's after winning this European Cup, she's represented
- 1:17:32Poland that like a World Championships.
- 1:17:34And yeah, she she just wounded up a French girl, went out
- 1:17:39really hard and with the pacer. And then when the pacer dropped
- 1:17:44off, the wheels fell off the French girl and this Elizabeth
- 1:17:46Glenke came true. So, Dean, I'm looking at you
- 1:17:50here. No, it's never too late.
- 1:17:54It's never too late. This one.
- 1:17:56Yeah, it's a really, really good story.
- 1:17:57I'd say. Look her up.
- 1:18:00The B race, the winner was core doula Lasher in yeah, 3322.
- 1:18:06I didn't actually get to see that be women's B race, but it's
- 1:18:10a really good initiative, this European 10,000 Mirror Cup.
- 1:18:14Yeah. So it's good running.
- 1:18:18Just talking about Dean's age there.
- 1:18:19I went for a pint yesterday with a couple of the lads who raced
- 1:18:24and one of them was very shocked to discover Dean's true age.
- 1:18:29You thought you were around 29, so 18.
- 1:18:34Take that, Take that dream alive.
- 1:18:37Exactly. That's what his gammon tells
- 1:18:39him. My fitness age is not his, it's
- 1:18:46a bit higher than my actual age. Where does that take us to
- 1:18:50running news that rounds out the results round?
- 1:18:55The running news is powered by Gnomeo performed supplement,
- 1:18:58trusted by Almgren, Carl Hocker, Connor Man, Sizzy Back, Doyle
- 1:19:02and many more. Drink Gnomeo and prepare to
- 1:19:04outperform. I think we've only got 1 item on
- 1:19:09the agenda here for this week, unless you guys have any others,
- 1:19:12but the enhanced games I think happened over the weekend and.
- 1:19:17I think they don't need. Happening right now.
- 1:19:20No, they're teeter. Or, well, a few the events of
- 1:19:22Iran. Yeah, they have, but they
- 1:19:24started on Sunday. The events of Swan or been
- 1:19:28lifted? I am.
- 1:19:31I don't want to cover it from a news results perspective because
- 1:19:37I don't think it deserves credit to be spoken about in that vein,
- 1:19:41but also not naive or ignorant enough to just not talk about
- 1:19:45it. So I guess as a concept, what do
- 1:19:48you think of it? And just from like a fan, do you
- 1:19:51have any interest in like following the results or just in
- 1:19:55general? What were you thought?
- 1:19:59Yeah, you go on. I think it's more of a hey watch
- 1:20:02from my point of view, like I don't really like it.
- 1:20:05I'm delighted the fact like Fred Curly didn't, even though he
- 1:20:08said he's running a clean, he got banned for doping.
- 1:20:13I like, I understand like there's 2 Irish lads doing it
- 1:20:17and they're getting a shit load of money for doing it.
- 1:20:19Like they're retired, they've nothing else.
- 1:20:22So I can see why people do it, but I just don't like it at all.
- 1:20:28Yeah, look, I am. I'm glad it's not.
- 1:20:33I have various thoughts about it, but like one of them is I'm
- 1:20:37glad it's not super successful because I don't want it to get a
- 1:20:40lot of air time or traction. I'm curious to see what the
- 1:20:44effect of some of these performance enhancing things are
- 1:20:47doing to people in terms of is it transformational?
- 1:20:50So we saw is it the men's 50M world record go today or
- 1:20:55yesterday in 50M freestyle and these guys look augmented, like
- 1:21:03they look completely jacked. And so, and it would make sense
- 1:21:07in something like a 50M event, which like is it that that
- 1:21:13system that completely, you know, non oxygen requiring
- 1:21:18system lasts for about 15 seconds.
- 1:21:19This is a 22nd price. So the fact that you get
- 1:21:22completely jacked up beyond what's normal.
- 1:21:26And then I heard as well in the poll that they're wearing the
- 1:21:29wet suits that are not, that are no longer legal in other
- 1:21:32competition. So they're they're doing other
- 1:21:34things to make these performances look more
- 1:21:37exceptional. Which makes me think like why?
- 1:21:40Why are they doing that? If they're already going to the
- 1:21:42extent of taking drugs, why are they changing other things as
- 1:21:45well? This isn't my thought, but this
- 1:21:46is what I heard from another podcast was that the the thought
- 1:21:50was perhaps that what might come off the back of these enhanced
- 1:21:55games is product promotion from from people saying you take my
- 1:22:00performance stack and you too can, you know, live an enhanced
- 1:22:06life and so. Commercial lens maybe?
- 1:22:08I think so. So I think the the success of
- 1:22:11the games relies on them breaking records.
- 1:22:14They'll push the boundaries in order to do that.
- 1:22:17And then the commercial element would be as well that they can
- 1:22:22push. And you're probably targeting
- 1:22:24men or men and women approaching middle age.
- 1:22:28You know, your body's in hormonal decline and there's,
- 1:22:30and you, you know, bone density, all these sorts of things are
- 1:22:34happening. Are there things that you can be
- 1:22:35taking to improve them? And I think that's what it's
- 1:22:38trying to appeal to. I I.
- 1:22:41You're in the market. No, no, I just have brittle old
- 1:22:45bones now, but I I suspect that's that's the play.
- 1:22:50But yeah, I'm, and I suppose some of the my other thoughts
- 1:22:55are in the likes of Fred Curley's instance where they're
- 1:22:58not getting that close to the world record or is and we we
- 1:23:03know stories, remember the 1980, it might be the 1988 men's 100
- 1:23:07meters. I think the whole final served
- 1:23:10doping bands like off the back of that.
- 1:23:14So you wonder some of these, you know, makes you question if they
- 1:23:17don't get close to them, what are we watching when we're
- 1:23:20watching non enhanced games but exceptional performance?
- 1:23:25Yeah, you almost want them to go and break the record or at least
- 1:23:29get close to it to show that the innovative Commas clean record
- 1:23:35might be clean. Yeah.
- 1:23:38Because if they can, if they take a load of drugs and can't
- 1:23:40get near it, what does that say for the records which we
- 1:23:44consider legitimate? Have you seen the prize money
- 1:23:48that's involved as well? They if they win the race, they
- 1:23:51get like 250 grand. Yeah, and you get 1,000,000
- 1:23:54bucks if you break a world record.
- 1:23:56I think. I think.
- 1:23:58I think a swimmer was .02 seconds off breaking some
- 1:24:02swimming record. So yeah, you'd be your age and.
- 1:24:09I think he went back and he broke the 50.
- 1:24:11I think again. I'm yeah, but they're just more
- 1:24:16juice for next time. And I think I've seen something
- 1:24:20like the arena, which has been purpose built in Vegas.
- 1:24:23They've just popped it up. It's got like the swimming in it
- 1:24:27and 100m track like right next to the the pool.
- 1:24:31And they're going to deconstruct it after these games.
- 1:24:34So it's literally just gone or be taken down costs like 50
- 1:24:37million. And it just, it makes you think
- 1:24:40that that is the sorry state of running that like MJ trying to
- 1:24:44do is bloody. What was it even called?
- 1:24:47Grand Slam track. Grand Slam track couldn't get it
- 1:24:51off the ground, mainly because he's Pratt, he's a press, but
- 1:24:55like he was seemingly genuinely trying to do that for betterment
- 1:24:59of running and for fans and then you.
- 1:25:03Still drive by. These guys come along and
- 1:25:10package up this drug taking competition and they managed to
- 1:25:15pull in all sorts of money and investment and resources and
- 1:25:19commercialize shit out of it and get it all over the news.
- 1:25:23Well, and perhaps the worrying thing, yeah, this might be a
- 1:25:26broader top broad topic to tackle, you know, big, bigger
- 1:25:29than this chat. We just like to talk about
- 1:25:31running and clean running ideally.
- 1:25:33But like, if it does gain momentum and it does continue,
- 1:25:37it talks to the consumer that it that it's had success in
- 1:25:42inviting people in to want to pay a lot of money for this sort
- 1:25:45of stuff, which is a bit worrying.
- 1:25:48Yeah, it feels like everything that running stands for the the
- 1:25:52sport, like how pure it is. This is everything opposite
- 1:25:55that, isn't it? Exactly.
- 1:25:58But we're not coming to realization it's not pure.
- 1:26:02I feel like like cycling, like you just had such a bad rap.
- 1:26:09Like in my eyes, like I can still see like doping.
- 1:26:13It's just like sort of stained the sport.
- 1:26:16I feel like it's getting to the stage now where you see like you
- 1:26:19see a fast Canyon run and you're like, hmm, like you sort of take
- 1:26:23it with a pinch of salt. Yeah, the ideal is that it's
- 1:26:30pure, but the reality is there are parts that are spoiled.
- 1:26:34Yeah. YouTube Diaries.
- 1:26:37I was going to say two things here.
- 1:26:40But there's one more news. Oh yeah, sorry.
- 1:26:42That women's event at loss. And so last year, last year, it
- 1:26:47was over in New York, NY, somewhere like that, yeah.
- 1:26:52And basically there's loads of money in this and they made such
- 1:26:54a big scene that like to a Grand Slam track didn't pay their
- 1:26:59athletes well at Lowe's literally don't like on the
- 1:27:02spot. Like they showed money going
- 1:27:04from one one account into another account, but that's
- 1:27:06coming to London, so. On the women's only competition.
- 1:27:11Yeah, that's the only bad thing about it.
- 1:27:12It's women's only. Like I feel running is a pretty
- 1:27:16gender neutral sport, like everyone.
- 1:27:18Like if you win a 1500, the men and women get paid both the
- 1:27:22same. I feel like there's no need to
- 1:27:24separate it. I was thinking about this
- 1:27:28because I remember us having this chat.
- 1:27:29I feel like we're getting a little bit old in the sense of
- 1:27:32we're having recurring chats on some of these.
- 1:27:35Things and believe. Like shock that I have a like
- 1:27:39anyway, but thought is that when I go down to a track meet in
- 1:27:45terms of distance competition, in particular, the participation
- 1:27:50in track meets in terms of not necessarily girls, I think maybe
- 1:27:54it's pretty easy. But as it gets into the seniors
- 1:27:57feels like there's more of a drop off than men in track
- 1:28:00competition. So perhaps if this goes any way
- 1:28:03to trying to encourage women to want to participate because it
- 1:28:07gets more exposure or there's another way of getting more
- 1:28:10women into the sport. If that's what it does, then
- 1:28:15question mark whether or not it does that and question mark
- 1:28:17whether or not a a these high profile meets just as
- 1:28:21successful. But that was just a thought I
- 1:28:23had. But, you know, I think they get
- 1:28:25the same mental publicity like in the Diamond League.
- 1:28:28Like do they need this separate event?
- 1:28:30I. Don't know.
- 1:28:30I don't know. I know it's good for the sport,
- 1:28:33like to get more money because I'd like to see it.
- 1:28:35I just wish there was a sort of a male version as well to like
- 1:28:38make it equal. Yeah.
- 1:28:40But yeah, that's happening on the 18th of September 26.
- 1:28:44So there's going to be one in London and then another one, I
- 1:28:48don't think it's been named where the next event is, but
- 1:28:50apparently like there's more money.
- 1:28:52So they're putting on more events and there's more money
- 1:28:54being involved as well. So yeah, good for the sport.
- 1:28:59I think just before we move on, I think it's a fairpoint, Dean,
- 1:29:03in the like grassroots level, the discrepancy is clear, isn't
- 1:29:07it? Or like non professional like
- 1:29:11like you say, you go down to the track, yeah, men will be able to
- 1:29:15fill multiple races, whereas women might struggle to fill 1.
- 1:29:19So therefore, if this thing, if it can show to the fact that
- 1:29:26there is demand for women's earning races at grassroots
- 1:29:29level, then yeah, might be. Beneficial.
- 1:29:33I don't think, like, I don't think there's such a, there's
- 1:29:37negative stigma when it comes to Rd. racing as much, but I always
- 1:29:41feel the tracks always felt a bit of a, it feels more, it
- 1:29:46feels more uncomfortable. Track.
- 1:29:49In those distance races in particular.
- 1:29:53So, yeah, if there's something to do regarding inclusion and
- 1:29:56participation and that's across the board, like we talked about
- 1:30:00these Nitol events that we could have locally that we don't
- 1:30:05really see much of because it just feels very latest.
- 1:30:08You said we certainly struggle to get participation on the
- 1:30:10track, men and women, but women in particular.
- 1:30:17They rolled the stars out last year.
- 1:30:18They need to keep them involved because then they have Kippy, a
- 1:30:21gun, Kili and like the lot of them.
- 1:30:23Basically. It's almost like they've set a
- 1:30:25very high bar. Hopefully they've resigned them
- 1:30:28for a couple of years. Oh yeah.
- 1:30:31So YouTube Diaries. Two things, Owen, I thank you.
- 1:30:35And I also say you've caused me a problem by introducing me to
- 1:30:40that new standard channel. Yeah.
- 1:30:44That's good. They literally are new Gen. like
- 1:30:47reincarnated, aren't they? Yeah.
- 1:30:49Yeah, yeah. It's like the exact carbon copy
- 1:30:52feel like just stupid college students just messing around and
- 1:30:57they're just unbelievably good runners.
- 1:31:00And like the the way that they capture the like day-to-day as a
- 1:31:05student is like just everything you imagine it to be.
- 1:31:08Just basically like living the dream, being silly little boys.
- 1:31:13I'm surprised with the college work they actually do when
- 1:31:15they're away on these trips. Like I actually didn't think
- 1:31:17they'd do it, but a lot of them seem to have their laptops with
- 1:31:19them even though maybe pretending to be doing some
- 1:31:22college. And when Ed I Stone even gets a
- 1:31:25couple of features, doesn't he, because obviously he's like the
- 1:31:28college coach for BYU. It's a bit.
- 1:31:31I'd love to like, pick his brains on how he bounces, like
- 1:31:36the seriousness and the methodical approaches of Clayton
- 1:31:41Young and months from a marathon perspective versus like almost
- 1:31:45managing the adolescence of these incredibly talented but
- 1:31:49stupid kids. I reckon it's that like I reckon
- 1:31:54you need, I think a good group you want to mix.
- 1:32:00Like it reminded me, you know, when we chatted with Tom and
- 1:32:06like, how important is having someone like Tom in the group,
- 1:32:10that infectious enthusiasm. And when you have young kids in
- 1:32:14there that are just full of excitement, I think that makes
- 1:32:16training more fun. So it's nice to have a you want
- 1:32:21a diverse mix of people. And I've seen they put on their
- 1:32:26Instagram today that like it's a countdown for more content being
- 1:32:30released. So I was like, Yep, sign me up.
- 1:32:32Yeah. I think the six videos that were
- 1:32:35out, I watched them all in 24 hours and Becky's looking at me
- 1:32:39like why are you watching? Literally 18 year old American
- 1:32:43kid. I've been told Aiden about this
- 1:32:46YouTube channel because I'm she's going to ask the exact
- 1:32:49same question, so you're so sad. And the second one was I watched
- 1:32:55one of George Mills recent videos during the week as well.
- 1:32:59And his, his channel is actually really good follow.
- 1:33:02He's, he's very insightful, He's very thorough and methodical and
- 1:33:07everything that he does and he, I think he communicates kind of
- 1:33:10like brings you on that journey very well because he's, it's a
- 1:33:14good follow because he's on the comeback from injury.
- 1:33:17Like I don't think he's actually raced yet, but he's pretty much
- 1:33:21back up like fit, fit enough to race.
- 1:33:26He's been in as a dull strum in South Africa, largely solo, but
- 1:33:32he's part of our AC Europe. And there's a couple of, I think
- 1:33:36they're like Italian blokes maybe who he goes to one of the
- 1:33:40tracks with and does a couple of sessions with.
- 1:33:43He drinks bloody a litre of pure cow milk every day.
- 1:33:47He's saying that's his recovery drink.
- 1:33:51Some of his meals are very questionable like I can see but
- 1:33:56yeah like he likes blandness. I've seen a video of someone
- 1:34:01doing a pre race thing and a Buchanan.
- 1:34:05He was eating like literally just plain slices of white bread
- 1:34:08before that lakeside 10K in his hotel room.
- 1:34:12I'm like wow. Yeah, put a bit of honey on it.
- 1:34:19Some of them anymore on the YouTube or.
- 1:34:27I didn't get too much this weekend.
- 1:34:31Yeah, IA lot of those sound running mates that we recapped
- 1:34:34earlier, they've done well in clipping them all up and posting
- 1:34:36them. I'd love it if more mates did
- 1:34:39that. Like I'd love the fact that we
- 1:34:41can always access the diamond leagues, but you have to how
- 1:34:44much Scrolling through a lot of the field events you need to do
- 1:34:48to find the races you want to watch.
- 1:34:51Click them up. You need like the what they call
- 1:34:55it, like the chapters or something on the bottom so you
- 1:34:57can see where the races are. I don't know, sometimes I like
- 1:35:01when like like a high jumper has to do like a jump and like I
- 1:35:07know I just somewhat are the long jumping so long they jump.
- 1:35:10It's crazy China at the minute. That's pole vault.
- 1:35:14Awesome. Said hi, John, Did you?
- 1:35:16But yeah, I don't know, sometimes I look looking at the
- 1:35:19other events. Of all the things, he gets Madam
- 1:35:24out and he's willing to figure. Yeah.
- 1:35:30Or even like I was watching Javelin the other day as yeah,
- 1:35:34some theory. Also absolutely leather that
- 1:35:38pole. So far it's.
- 1:35:42Could you throw a javelin? I think, I don't know.
- 1:35:44I think I got like 16 meters and they're firing at like 8090.
- 1:35:53We we do a daily 10 question quiz out of the local W
- 1:35:58Australian newspaper and one of it was named to the nearest
- 1:36:01kilo. The weight of the men's shot
- 1:36:03put. 15. I'd go 12.
- 1:36:10Seven, what are you guys thinking about throwing a fridge
- 1:36:15Like throwing one of my kids? So think of a dumbbell, yeah?
- 1:36:19Well the guys are built like fridges.
- 1:36:21Why do you need to get yourself so big to throw something 7K?
- 1:36:25Ouch. It's all right.
- 1:36:27I don't think we've got any shop.
- 1:36:28Pluses tune which leads us into double trouble.
- 1:36:38Now I might get myself a little bit cancelled there, but news
- 1:36:41can be a sound board for this one because I was getting
- 1:36:45rattled in the week and I thought I'm going to try and
- 1:36:48articulate these thoughts now because it is a double trouble
- 1:36:51brewing in my head and I want to have something to say.
- 1:36:54And I always get certain I'm like, oh shit, I'm going to
- 1:36:57bottle it now. But anyway, here we go.
- 1:36:59This is about Instagram just getting rattled when I'm
- 1:37:03scrolling Instagram and the needs to be a genuine angle
- 1:37:08because I don't want to just be a moaner for the sake of
- 1:37:10moaning. So yeah, like when you just go
- 1:37:15on, particularly on our account, because the algorithm is very
- 1:37:18tailored to running and fitness and everyone, the underlying
- 1:37:24messages that everyone appears to be an influencer and
- 1:37:27preaching some sort of message, whether that's how great they
- 1:37:32are or how great something else is.
- 1:37:35I know it's harmless. Like, individually each person
- 1:37:39probably doesn't. Well, they're clearly not doing
- 1:37:41anything bad by just posting, talking about themselves,
- 1:37:44talking about products, talking about things.
- 1:37:47But when there's just so much of it in one space and it's all
- 1:37:51direct, that, yeah, it can become a bit much.
- 1:37:54And it feels like, I don't know, like, how has everyone got lost
- 1:37:59in this trap? So like, remember when Instagram
- 1:38:03was purely, you would upload photos, friends, family,
- 1:38:09occasional holiday. If you're like really
- 1:38:12adventurous, you might post a photo of some food and that will
- 1:38:16be like a bit edgy. Like, oh fuck, you put a photo
- 1:38:19of what you're eating on Instagram, you're a bit out
- 1:38:22there. Whereas now it's like seen as
- 1:38:25the norm for every person to just preach and be like an
- 1:38:31expert in something, which I'm very aware there are highly
- 1:38:36qualified, highly educated experts out there who have
- 1:38:40highly valuable things, lessons, experience, knowledge to share.
- 1:38:45But it gets lost amongst all the bullshit of other people trying
- 1:38:50to like one up themselves and be like, yeah, but look at me, I've
- 1:38:53got this to say. And often it's a case of saying
- 1:38:58something so obvious with so much conviction that if you
- 1:39:03catch yourself off guard, you might actually receive it and be
- 1:39:08like, oh, they know what they're talking about.
- 1:39:10When really they haven't said anything like groundbreaking at
- 1:39:13all. They've just stated the fact
- 1:39:15quite confidently. Like people trying to describe
- 1:39:26every inch of their lives as like a performance thing rather
- 1:39:31than just look at the long term approach.
- 1:39:35Like I'd ice them what to say C ^2 = e ^2.
- 1:39:38Consistent competence equals eventual, eventual excellence.
- 1:39:42But that doesn't sell for Instagram and social media.
- 1:39:46You need that one magical warehouse or oh, look what I ate
- 1:39:50before I'd done this. And yeah, it just feels like the
- 1:39:56comparison is, you know, like the get rich quick schemes where
- 1:39:59there's like. A mythical method to trade or
- 1:40:03crypto. Do this, do that like pyramid
- 1:40:06schemes. It almost feels like the social
- 1:40:08media equivalent and it's just a battle between everyone to be as
- 1:40:14relevant and as seen as you can be.
- 1:40:17And to me now it just looks like a big cry for attention, like
- 1:40:23everyone's attention seeking pitching like daily tasks or
- 1:40:30literal like usual things that everyone does on a day-to-day
- 1:40:34basis without making a big song and a dance out of it.
- 1:40:37As if they've like just passed a test to become a Royal Marine or
- 1:40:41something. When everyone else knows it's
- 1:40:45just a little bit discipline, a little bit hard work, a little
- 1:40:48bit again, your head down. Rather than every single person
- 1:40:52on planet earth win an Olympic medals because the bloody went
- 1:40:56for a jog. And yeah, I may have just been a
- 1:41:01bit triggered when I see no less and thought about all this, but
- 1:41:05I think I had to get it off my chest.
- 1:41:10Do you want to go, Dean, or will I go?
- 1:41:13You go on. I, I like it.
- 1:41:20So I think it is a great place like build a platform, like sort
- 1:41:25of create a story and so people can like follow you.
- 1:41:28Like even from starting the podcast, like I feel like more
- 1:41:30people are like following me, following my sort of story
- 1:41:32along. And I like the way people share
- 1:41:36information as well. So I love that we're able to
- 1:41:40follow like delete athletes, see what they do and all this.
- 1:41:43And this is going to sound terrible, but I feel like
- 1:41:46there's a certain level where there's a certain level where it
- 1:41:52sort of becomes bullshit. So if you go out and run, you're
- 1:41:57like sub 30 minute 5K. And then they're like, that's
- 1:42:02still a really, really great achievement.
- 1:42:04But then they're going out and giving like their two cents when
- 1:42:10it might be correct, if you get me.
- 1:42:13Like I feel like it's the people who have years and years and
- 1:42:16years in this sport who like, who know all about it rather
- 1:42:20than the people who have picked, who have picked up running in
- 1:42:23the last year. And like them saying, oh, I know
- 1:42:25this, this works for me and all this.
- 1:42:29That's where I think it, Instagram can get a lot like I
- 1:42:33can see where you're coming from, Ryan.
- 1:42:34Like everyone is doing it now. But I do also love the way
- 1:42:40people are sharing their opinions.
- 1:42:42Like I actually like looking at some of them people as well who
- 1:42:45are, let's say, running a four or five minute 5K.
- 1:42:48And I actually like following that journey to see them
- 1:42:50improving. Like, I think it is pretty cool
- 1:42:52as well. But it's just, I think it's the
- 1:42:54fact that everyone's doing it. It is very clogged Instagram.
- 1:42:58But yeah, the algorithm. Yeah, I don't think it's not the
- 1:43:05people sharing their story and stuff which has got me rattled.
- 1:43:08It's more so I feel like the genuineness of it has been lost.
- 1:43:14So there's there's, it seems to me that the majority of people,
- 1:43:18there's some sort of agenda and agenda behind that, whether
- 1:43:21that's self promotion or whatever it is.
- 1:43:24But, and you can tell that's the problem.
- 1:43:27You can clearly see whether it's genuine or not like AI, as great
- 1:43:32as it is. And we joke about me using chat
- 1:43:34GPC to like put my trousers on in the morning and AI like helps
- 1:43:41us with the show notes and stuff like this.
- 1:43:43But then you can read some people's captions and you can,
- 1:43:47you can see that it's clearly an AI generated statement and it's
- 1:43:51trying to be like motivational or tell you some story and
- 1:43:55you're like, why do you think that that feels genuine or that
- 1:43:59that's going to like motivate someone to help them or to
- 1:44:03change them? And now then, give me some
- 1:44:07perspective and I've got some. I don't.
- 1:44:10Yeah. Look, I don't know.
- 1:44:11I am. I'm not a huge fan of social
- 1:44:16media generally. I like the idea of it like we
- 1:44:23have family across the world or, you know, it's a way of staying
- 1:44:26connected with friends that live abroad and it's a way of keeping
- 1:44:29them up to date in about your life is how I would like to see
- 1:44:34it used. And then like you said, oh, and
- 1:44:36it, it's a nice way of sharing a story and other people sharing
- 1:44:40their stories and, and a real opportunity.
- 1:44:42Like I think podcasts in say the last 10 years have become so
- 1:44:46popular and it's bringing back the art of storytelling.
- 1:44:48And that's such a nice way of learning about other people's
- 1:44:51experiences and learning from them.
- 1:44:53And I feel like social media has elements of that as well, but
- 1:44:57that's like the good part of it. And then there there's just a
- 1:44:59lot of bad, like misuse and, you know, bad behaviour, and it's
- 1:45:04completely unregulated and it's hard to filter out a lot of the
- 1:45:09bad content from the good content.
- 1:45:11So it's often not a great place to source good information, but
- 1:45:13you find yourself there. So I don't know, I don't know if
- 1:45:17I'm able to say too much other than yet.
- 1:45:19I understand what you're saying. I guess I kept my social media
- 1:45:23apps at 15 minutes, so I don't find myself consuming too much,
- 1:45:26too, too many reels. But yeah, I certainly see the
- 1:45:31good elements to it. But then, yeah, there's
- 1:45:32certainly a lot of pitfalls with it as well.
- 1:45:36What can we do? I guess for us, where we go to
- 1:45:40seek out advice, but that's probably where we've we've,
- 1:45:43we've shared a bond over podcasts and YouTube.
- 1:45:47Like I think what, what, what Instagram might do is tell us
- 1:45:51someone that we might like to learn about.
- 1:45:53And then hopefully they have a platform where we can actually
- 1:45:55get proper better content from them.
- 1:45:58And I think that's how we've stayed curious with our running.
- 1:46:01Yeah. Does that help at all?
- 1:46:04Yeah, No, it's good. I can you you on other subjects
- 1:46:09may have been a lot more on the other side of the fence.
- 1:46:13Whereas with that you're sitting on the fence, which I'm taking
- 1:46:17as like you've been somewhat on my side with it.
- 1:46:22Yeah. But it's it's just a nice
- 1:46:24reminder to me for us to stay genuine and not start like just
- 1:46:31saying things to please other people.
- 1:46:32Just stay true to ourselves and share our stories for what they
- 1:46:38are. Yeah, and that's where I like
- 1:46:41things like Strava. In a podcast.
- 1:46:44I feel like you learn a bit more in a long form conversation and
- 1:46:48you learn a lot more about someone through what they do.
- 1:46:51So Strava is a log of all of the effort they've put in over a
- 1:46:54long period of time. It's not some contrived post of
- 1:46:58them on their best day in a given year.
- 1:47:02Yeah, pretty raw. Hard to chop it up into a
- 1:47:08saleable reel that you get on Instagram.
- 1:47:13Anyway, reckon that's us. Yeah, boys.
- 1:47:18Thanks fellas. Yeah, go again Wednesday.
- 1:47:22Yeah, for the full debrief. Look forward to it.
- 1:47:26Yeah. See you guys.
- 1:47:27See you guys. Ciao.
- 1:47:29Good luck. Play no crew Deanie join Ryan
- 1:47:34talking and do from the first warm up to the final bell.
- 1:47:36This is easy double and you're doing it well.
- 1:47:44This is easy double welcome to you This is easy double you're.
- 1:47:54Doing it well. Rang enough?
- 1:48:00Check, go, run.
