- 0:09Speaker 3: The World's a Vegetal podcast. Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered. Trying
- 0:20Speaker 3: to get the emails, but the keyboard doesn't work. I
- 0:22Speaker 3: want to just looked up like one of those mormits.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Marmots.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yeah, nothing's working.
- 0:28Speaker 4: You know what, hey, Beth, if you just keep hitting
- 0:31Speaker 4: the buttons, maybe they'll start working. Melt Blown used to
- 0:34Speaker 4: kill guys all the way down the field, and you
- 0:37Speaker 4: can't do that anymore, you know.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And you can't take someone's life anywhere.
- 0:42Speaker 3: My dad and I both listen to the podcast, and
- 0:44Speaker 3: our washer just broke down. He's thinking of buying another
- 0:47Speaker 3: brand besides Speed Queen. Please convince him that Speed Queen
- 0:50Speaker 3: is worth the extra charge.
- 0:51Speaker 4: I just got a Samsung and I'm very very happy
- 0:54Speaker 4: with it.
- 0:54Speaker 3: So why did she get to speak Queen?
- 0:56Speaker 4: I don't want to speak Queen.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Why you just have to book orders in it every
- 0:59Speaker 2: time you want to use it?
- 1:00Speaker 4: Sounds it sounds like it sounds industrial.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Well, they do have a model that the laundry mattshews.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Where's Evan?
- 1:07Speaker 4: He's gonna come back to that practice now, I know,
- 1:09Speaker 4: but we're supposed to come back.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Evan doesn't actually move that fast, so.
- 1:12Speaker 4: No, you know, he's sort of like a three toad slot,
- 1:16Speaker 4: isn't there. He kind of battles around really looking forward
- 1:19Speaker 4: to the start of the season. I have no real
- 1:20Speaker 4: interest whatsoever in that game tomorrow night, though.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Who is it? This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's
- 1:27Speaker 3: official website for deals by a Toyota dot com. All right,
- 1:32Speaker 3: welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Gillette
- 1:37Speaker 3: Stadium in our first Thursday in season show. Can't wait.
- 1:41Speaker 3: We're doing picks later around one thirty. Evan, is that
- 1:47Speaker 3: practice and locker room?
- 1:48Speaker 2: There's a lot going on.
- 1:50Speaker 3: You're going to be leaving for the locker of a
- 1:52Speaker 3: twelve forty five, but you promised to be back for
- 1:54Speaker 3: one thirty.
- 1:55Speaker 4: For the picks.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Absolutely not.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Misspis Alex is here in her custom made what ever?
- 2:00Speaker 3: That is? Pullover jacket, jacket, wind breaker, full zip up,
- 2:04Speaker 3: sure is yep?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of nineties Patriots. Yeah's going on?
- 2:08Speaker 3: That is like eight that's the nineties.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, that's got nineties. Like someone threw up
- 2:14Speaker 4: on a coat kind of look.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I'm.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Not insulting your offsulting style. Threw up style that I
- 2:24Speaker 4: grew up with. I'm insulting myself. Like you guys were like, well,
- 2:28Speaker 4: you weren't really in on the bloodsort that. Yeah, if
- 2:30Speaker 4: you had to live it, you wouldn't be in on
- 2:31Speaker 4: and either it's just nostalgic to you.
- 2:33Speaker 7: Right, It's like I think it's cool, and I'm a
- 2:36Speaker 7: nineties kid, so.
- 2:37Speaker 4: It wasn't so cool when you had to actually wear it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You've got the name on that.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Ironically, did you should.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Do that with like youth sports, you'd have like your
- 2:45Speaker 2: jacket when you put your name on the side with
- 2:46Speaker 2: your number and you get patches and stuff when you
- 2:48Speaker 2: go to tournaments and things of that nature.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I didn't get the patches part.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a hockey name, all the patches on your.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Back, name and number, Paul capped, oh caps, Oh yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 3: game captain or.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Permanent, permanent, depending on what team it was.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Actually if the quarterback is the captain, usually yeah, that
- 3:07Speaker 2: is true.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I made the varsity tennis team as a freshman, so
- 3:11Speaker 3: I got my jacket, went to a dance and it
- 3:14Speaker 3: got stolen who wants my jacket with my name on it?
- 3:18Speaker 4: Like you're going to say, who wants a jacket?
- 3:21Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you know, it was like the same one.
- 3:23Speaker 3: It was the same style that they gave to all
- 3:25Speaker 3: the teams.
- 3:26Speaker 4: But it's just like a regular school lettermane fact that, Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 4: that's odd that someone would steal it.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Is a varsity athlete, right, They're like, you're not, well,
- 3:35Speaker 2: it was.
- 3:35Speaker 7: Kind of so.
- 3:36Speaker 6: When I was in high school, the boys soccer team
- 3:38Speaker 6: won States almost every single year, so it was like
- 3:41Speaker 6: a big thing to be able to wear one of
- 3:43Speaker 6: the boys.
- 3:43Speaker 7: Jackets to the game. And if you got their varsity jacket.
- 3:46Speaker 3: And I did see anyone wearing my jacket. I don't
- 3:49Speaker 3: know what they did with it. I think they were
- 3:51Speaker 3: just with me.
- 3:52Speaker 4: That's what nailed it. It was a girl, it wasn't.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I think they just threw it away wanted to be Freddy's.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Maybe he just left it like behind the couch and
- 4:01Speaker 6: it fell and you forgot it.
- 4:03Speaker 2: No, he wouldn't forget it.
- 4:05Speaker 6: It was And I was in college and we would
- 4:07Speaker 6: walk to parties in the winter and be freezing, so
- 4:10Speaker 6: then we would stash our coat somewhere where it wouldn't
- 4:13Speaker 6: get stolen after. So it's like after the party, you're
- 4:16Speaker 6: hammered and you're like going under the guy's couch.
- 4:18Speaker 3: To listen, listen under his young people listening. If you're
- 4:22Speaker 3: out high school?
- 4:23Speaker 4: One I thought thought we were still in high school
- 4:27Speaker 4: walking away.
- 4:31Speaker 3: If you're out there, If you're out there, I'm going
- 4:33Speaker 3: to find you eventually. And cousin, I want that jacket back,
- 4:38Speaker 3: all right?
- 4:38Speaker 4: So was that a big thing in high school? Though?
- 4:40Speaker 4: The girls like who who was wearing? Whose jacket? Stuff?
- 4:43Speaker 3: I wore?
- 4:43Speaker 7: Curtis Pereira's, Oh, would get.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Wearing Curtis, I have curisky Tuscadero.
- 4:53Speaker 7: No, I don't think so it wasn't a big gum chore.
- 4:55Speaker 3: All right, let's let's talk football here.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I mean, it is the opener.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we've got the Raiders coming up on Thursday. And
- 5:05Speaker 3: I know he did like this press conference or this
- 5:08Speaker 3: conversation yesterday Stefan Diggs. But besides all that, are we
- 5:13Speaker 3: not excited enough that we have Stefan Diggs on this
- 5:16Speaker 3: team and that he is gonna hopefully be Drake May's
- 5:20Speaker 3: number one guy?
- 5:22Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 5:22Speaker 4: You excited enough?
- 5:23Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 5:24Speaker 3: It just seems like all I think we've kind of
- 5:27Speaker 3: like downplayed it because we're afraid, like is he gonna play?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Is he not gonna play?
- 5:32Speaker 7: This is why we can't have night.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that ended on July twenty, but.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I think I would. I think we should be more
- 5:39Speaker 3: excited about the fact that Stefan Diggs is going to
- 5:42Speaker 3: be out there.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I think you're right, Fred, I mean, I know what
- 5:44Speaker 2: you're getting at it. It seems like we spend more time
- 5:46Speaker 2: kind of like wondering if there's controversy going.
- 5:48Speaker 4: On, and just you know.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I mean, I've tried to bring it up a lot
- 5:50Speaker 2: that I thought on the field, he looks really good.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I don't know how close he is to the old
- 5:54Speaker 2: Steffan Diggs and what that might have looked like on
- 5:56Speaker 2: the field, but from what I've seen from this wide
- 5:59Speaker 2: receiver core over the six seasons that I've watched it,
- 6:03Speaker 2: he looks pretty good. He looks like the best receiver
- 6:05Speaker 2: they've had in a long gun, and.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I think he should make everyone else. I think you
- 6:07Speaker 3: should make Hunter Henry better. I think you should make
- 6:10Speaker 3: the guys that we watched last year a little bit better.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I think he helps the offense in general.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Maybe it definitely should.
- 6:17Speaker 3: To an extent that we didn't see last year. No
- 6:20Speaker 3: one on this team that was here last year could
- 6:23Speaker 3: do what he's gonna hopefully do this year, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 3: And so I just think it's been downplayed because we're
- 6:30Speaker 3: kind of holding our breath a little bit.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean, and he's coming off and.
- 6:35Speaker 4: They have a legitimate receiver for the first time in
- 6:37Speaker 4: five years.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I mean, that's that's the bottom line for me. I
- 6:40Speaker 2: think what I've just enjoyed is it's easy to say
- 6:43Speaker 2: a guy's really good, but when you watch him in practice,
- 6:46Speaker 2: you start to see what the actual nuances are are
- 6:49Speaker 2: of his game. And I think it was Matt Collins
- 6:51Speaker 2: talking about just the way he tempos routes and he
- 6:54Speaker 2: slows down and he just he kind of has a
- 6:56Speaker 2: weird style that's hard for defensive backs to kind of
- 6:59Speaker 2: get a good read on, and it helps him be
- 7:02Speaker 2: a master terrific.
- 7:04Speaker 3: He seems to have a good sense of that and
- 7:06Speaker 3: how to get open, how to get open based on
- 7:09Speaker 3: what he's seeing on the field.
- 7:12Speaker 2: And I still think when we saw him in some
- 7:14Speaker 2: of those early team drills in Minnesota that it looked
- 7:17Speaker 2: like he decided, all right, I'll turn it around for
- 7:19Speaker 2: a little bit, you know here in the preseason and
- 7:20Speaker 2: you know, just see how things are feeling because just
- 7:23Speaker 2: was uncoverable there and you know those those are drills,
- 7:25Speaker 2: it's not real. But I just I feel like there's
- 7:28Speaker 2: a good chance he comes out of the gate and
- 7:30Speaker 2: it's just it's really good right out of the gate
- 7:32Speaker 2: immediately there there's a connection there and he's the engine
- 7:34Speaker 2: to the offense and the gotta have it moments.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Yeah. So, I mean I was listening to what he
- 7:38Speaker 3: was having to say yesterday and you know, having to
- 7:42Speaker 3: do with Tom and Phil from NBC Sports, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 3: but all that aside, I'm thinking to myself, Stefan Diggs
- 7:50Speaker 3: is the new England Patriot and Drake May is going
- 7:53Speaker 3: to be throwing to him. And I know when we
- 7:56Speaker 3: signed him it was a big but like it seems
- 7:57Speaker 3: to have like really tapered off, and I think we
- 8:00Speaker 3: need to be a little bit more excited about that.
- 8:03Speaker 3: That's just me.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I know Paul doesn't care the message from well, I
- 8:06Speaker 4: just I don't. I don't really know where that I'm
- 8:10Speaker 4: not gonna get into the hole I was rated or
- 8:12Speaker 4: not rated, Like, I feel like people are properly excited
- 8:16Speaker 4: that they have a legitimate everything. Mike' said, they have
- 8:18Speaker 4: a guy who can get open. He's a great road runner,
- 8:20Speaker 4: always has been. They haven't had this, they haven't had
- 8:23Speaker 4: I don't know what the proper level of excitement is to,
- 8:26Speaker 4: you know, to satisfy your needs. But I think everybody
- 8:30Speaker 4: was recognizing the wide receiver room is better because Stefan
- 8:34Speaker 4: Diggs is here.
- 8:35Speaker 3: But right, I agree with that. But like when I hear,
- 8:38Speaker 3: you know, people on your shows and other shows talk
- 8:41Speaker 3: about who they think, what's you know, what they think
- 8:44Speaker 3: is going to happen in the game, who they think
- 8:45Speaker 3: is going to win, It's like Diggs is an afterthought.
- 8:49Speaker 4: It's like, you know, to me yesterday when I was
- 8:52Speaker 4: given basically Digs, Well, I know.
- 8:56Speaker 2: It's a different situation. But when Randy Moss didn't really
- 8:59Speaker 2: practice all summer, did you feel like we were they
- 9:01Speaker 2: were sleeping on him a little?
- 9:02Speaker 3: It's a good point. We had no I mean, we
- 9:04Speaker 3: saw in practice the difference of Randy Moss, but then
- 9:07Speaker 3: we didn't see him for the whole summer.
- 9:09Speaker 4: No one knew what we were going to get for.
- 9:10Speaker 3: We didn't know that was going to be like that.
- 9:12Speaker 4: That would be like if Gonzales just played on on
- 9:15Speaker 4: Sunday and passes right. Seriously, That's that's how little we
- 9:19Speaker 4: saw of Randy Moss in training camp.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I hear your point though, but I just think
- 9:24Speaker 2: it's you know, it's hard because they've limited him a
- 9:26Speaker 2: little bit, and you know he hasn't been out there
- 9:28Speaker 2: every team period and you know, so you've only seen
- 9:31Speaker 2: him in little little burst. But I understand what you're saying.
- 9:34Speaker 4: My only question with Diggs is not about his availability.
- 9:36Speaker 4: It's not about his ability to run routes and all
- 9:39Speaker 4: that stuff. You're going to get the digs of the
- 9:41Speaker 4: last two or three years. Are you going to get
- 9:43Speaker 4: like a flashback digs of this big play guy who's
- 9:47Speaker 4: you know, making big plays down the field, stretching the field.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I don't. I don't think you're going to get that one.
- 9:53Speaker 4: I think you're going to get the one of you know,
- 9:56Speaker 4: the high volume, low yard with that. Yeah, i'd say,
- 10:00Speaker 4: like I said, it's a better receiver than they've.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Had for forever.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Yeah, since Edelman retired.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah, on like one knee too, Like yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I wouldn't even say since nineteen, you know whatever, it
- 10:11Speaker 4: was twenty Like nineteen was the last time he was
- 10:13Speaker 4: a semblance of himself. Yeah, well it's twenty five. That's
- 10:16Speaker 4: a long time ago.
- 10:18Speaker 3: So I just want to throw that out there and
- 10:19Speaker 3: see if anyone agrees with me that, like, oh, yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 3: we've got Stefan Diggs. Oh yeah, hell yeah, we've got
- 10:25Speaker 3: Steffan Diggs. Let's go about that, Okay.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Like that's the part I would they have Stefan Diggs.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I think everybody's talking about him all the time. I
- 10:32Speaker 4: don't know what you think Stefan Diggs is going to be.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Well, I feel like I think he's going to be
- 10:35Speaker 3: a thousand yard receiver.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Right, that's what I I kind of agree with Frans Great,
- 10:40Speaker 4: but he's a fifteen hundred yard receiver in his career
- 10:42Speaker 4: and now he's a thousand yard.
- 10:44Speaker 3: On this team. I'll take that. I'm excited about that
- 10:47Speaker 3: me too.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I just don't know what. Maybe it's not as properly excited.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Like you're ready to poo poo it unless he has
- 10:53Speaker 3: fifteen hundred yard.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I'm poo pooing you thinking that no one cares. I
- 10:56Speaker 4: think that's all anybody talks about.
- 10:58Speaker 6: I think that some members of the media are like
- 11:00Speaker 6: trying to temper people's expectations to Like I've experienced this myself.
- 11:05Speaker 6: People have in the media have asked me how's Digs been,
- 11:08Speaker 6: and I say, he's wonderful to work with. Everything people
- 11:12Speaker 6: have told me about him being like a drama, like
- 11:15Speaker 6: one of those elite wide receiver mentalities, I just haven't
- 11:18Speaker 6: seen it personally. He showed up to more community events
- 11:22Speaker 6: with Donna during the preseason than anyone on this team,
- 11:25Speaker 6: including veterans, and I was just expressing that, like, I've
- 11:29Speaker 6: been super pleasantly surprised he's great to work with, and
- 11:32Speaker 6: everyone's like, oh, well, yeah, there's a honeymoon period, like
- 11:35Speaker 6: oh well, just wait, just wait, And I'm like, why
- 11:38Speaker 6: can't we just be like, oh cool, that's really great
- 11:40Speaker 6: that he seems to be a good guy off the
- 11:42Speaker 6: field and kind of just defying people's expectations that they
- 11:46Speaker 6: had of him coming in.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Yeah, so so is Alex properly excited?
- 11:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 11:53Speaker 5: Good?
- 11:53Speaker 3: I like him.
- 11:54Speaker 7: I think he's great.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I like him too.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I was.
- 12:00Speaker 7: It's not about liking him, it's just like, no, I'm
- 12:03Speaker 7: fired up.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't really care about.
- 12:05Speaker 7: It, just looks different when he's running around.
- 12:08Speaker 6: His ability to change direction, change speed, and how smooth he.
- 12:12Speaker 7: Makes it look like. It's it's really special.
- 12:14Speaker 4: To watch totally.
- 12:16Speaker 2: It's not something where, yeah, he's like Trayvon Henderson. He's
- 12:19Speaker 2: just faster than everybody else and he's strong and there's
- 12:22Speaker 2: some nuance to that. But you watching Stefan Diggs in practice,
- 12:25Speaker 2: it would be hard, I think to be Maybe it's
- 12:27Speaker 2: why he wasn't drafted high. Like it's just there's such
- 12:30Speaker 2: a subtleness to what makes him so good. And we
- 12:33Speaker 2: saw it time and time again with Josh Allen and
- 12:35Speaker 2: third down and the windows like that, and it's just
- 12:39Speaker 2: right there and he get that two feet in and
- 12:41Speaker 2: first down keep going. I hope those are the kind
- 12:43Speaker 2: of places because that, to me, fred is what will
- 12:45Speaker 2: make the biggest difference for Drake is just having that
- 12:47Speaker 2: guy that isn't easy to defend and gives defenses something
- 12:50Speaker 2: to think about, even if it's not as much as
- 12:53Speaker 2: it once was. It's going to help guys like Pop Douglas.
- 12:55Speaker 2: It's going to help guys hopefully you know, like Booty
- 12:57Speaker 2: and Hollands on the outside, and hopefully open things up
- 13:00Speaker 2: in the middle a little bit.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yep.
- 13:01Speaker 8: Uh.
- 13:01Speaker 3: So the first practice participation report came out yesterday, very small, thankfully,
- 13:08Speaker 3: although Gonzo was on it as did not participate, So
- 13:13Speaker 3: he ain't playing. I don't think that's just my take,
- 13:16Speaker 3: but he's not playing. Efton Chisholm popped up on it
- 13:20Speaker 3: with a knee and he put, you know, somewhat participated,
- 13:25Speaker 3: not full participation.
- 13:27Speaker 4: But oh I thought he was full.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Oh no, you're right, Yes he was full, but he.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Was with the next knee injury Minnesota.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he was up there with full.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Yeah. And then he's just a new guy at the
- 13:36Speaker 2: cornerback that they acquired. Got a concussion, Yeah, like two injuries.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Somehow maybe, yeah, I shouldn't say somehow. No, did he
- 13:45Speaker 4: come after the Yeah, he came after the preseason game. Yes,
- 13:48Speaker 4: he must have gotten that practice edition. What you guys
- 13:51Speaker 4: are doing out there?
- 13:53Speaker 3: So according to that sheet of paper, Patriots are in
- 13:56Speaker 3: pretty good shape healthwise.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I mean, Gonzales is a big piece. Yeah, but overall,
- 14:01Speaker 2: you get out of training camp without one of those
- 14:03Speaker 2: catastrophic lost somebody for the season kind of injuries.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Well, and that's the thing is, I don't know, if
- 14:08Speaker 4: you look around the league a little bit because all
- 14:11Speaker 4: the injury reports always pop up, you know, this time
- 14:14Speaker 4: of year, and they're all really small because anybody who
- 14:16Speaker 4: got a catastrophic injury is on ir right, They're out
- 14:20Speaker 4: there not on the reports, right, And the guys that are,
- 14:23Speaker 4: you know, obviously you're just dealing with a couple of injury.
- 14:27Speaker 4: You know, you're going to start the season relatively healthy. Interestingly,
- 14:30Speaker 4: like Sean Slater as an example for the charges catastrophic
- 14:33Speaker 4: injury for LA. Yeah, but he's not going to be
- 14:36Speaker 4: on their injury reports.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I would be interesting to do a study where you
- 14:39Speaker 2: just went the average number of players on the injury
- 14:42Speaker 2: report by week and you could track it. What's it
- 14:45Speaker 2: look like in week one? You know, how do those
- 14:47Speaker 2: injury reports? Is there like a spike at a certain
- 14:49Speaker 2: point or is it just kind of continually going up
- 14:52Speaker 2: as the attrition adds up.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I didn't pretend to see all of them, but I
- 14:55Speaker 4: probably saw maybe four or five. And I don't think
- 14:57Speaker 4: I saw more than four or so players any one
- 15:00Speaker 4: team listed makes sense.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I mean, those guys are by November, they're like everybody's
- 15:04Speaker 2: dealing something.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Well, the Patriots, you know, we end up with like
- 15:07Speaker 4: fifteen guys on the report by November yep. So everybody's
- 15:12Speaker 4: dealing with something.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yep, including us yep.
- 15:14Speaker 4: So that came out Sciatica just putting all that junk
- 15:18Speaker 4: out in the driveway.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Yet you slip the disc today, Obviously they'll be out
- 15:23Speaker 3: there practicing in shells. Yesterday was the one day they'll
- 15:26Speaker 3: they'll be in pads. So they'll be in shells today
- 15:29Speaker 3: and tomorrow and you'll be out there for.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll go to that and yeah, we'll go out
- 15:35Speaker 2: tomorrow for sure, and we'll see. Yeah. Like I said yesterday,
- 15:37Speaker 2: we talked to Rabel afterwards, So I mean, well, no
- 15:40Speaker 2: afternoon tomorrow, really good chance. If Gonzal is probably not
- 15:43Speaker 2: going to play, I would the way Mike Rable has
- 15:45Speaker 2: been upfront with us, I would guess that he's probably
- 15:48Speaker 2: going to just tell you. So, yeah, it's a loss,
- 15:51Speaker 2: and hopefully they can get them back. I mean, it's
- 15:53Speaker 2: that seems like it's asking a lot. We haven't seen
- 15:55Speaker 2: him in over a month now, at saying oh we
- 15:57Speaker 2: can't play this Sunday, but hopefully he can play in
- 16:00Speaker 2: ten days. That still seems maybe asking a lot, but
- 16:03Speaker 2: maybe he's able to get back out there next week
- 16:04Speaker 2: and get out there in Miami.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yeah, he and Roman Holiday, can you know, get on
- 16:11Speaker 3: the phone and talk.
- 16:12Speaker 2: About things tissue muscle injuries.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that stinks for the Red Sox and for me oblique. Yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 3: it's excited anyway. All right, so back to football. All right,
- 16:24Speaker 3: So we've got getting excited about Diggs. Yes, except football.
- 16:29Speaker 4: I'm just trying to make sure I show it a
- 16:31Speaker 4: proper level. I don't want to get chest high. You know,
- 16:35Speaker 4: Mike's a defense guy, so he doesn't really get as
- 16:37Speaker 4: excited about offense. And no, plus he doesn't like I
- 16:40Speaker 4: like tackling.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Healthy team going into Week one. As you know, like
- 16:43Speaker 3: Paul said, most teams are who do you think is
- 16:47Speaker 3: going to be the guy on defense, Mike, since you're
- 16:51Speaker 3: the defensive guy that will be leading the way tomorrow,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I mean on Sunday, is it Splaine?
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean I think generally it's it's it's him.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I would hope that maybe it's Harold Landry or Chase
- 17:03Speaker 2: on like just getting after Joey Smith and putting pressure
- 17:06Speaker 2: on him. But as I've been telling everybody who doesn't
- 17:09Speaker 2: follow the Patriots all that closely, and maybe they just
- 17:11Speaker 2: turn in for week one, I'd say, just be ready
- 17:13Speaker 2: for number fourteen in the middle of the defense, because
- 17:15Speaker 2: it just looks different and certainly is like a blogger
- 17:18Speaker 2: guy who spent so much time with people getting kind
- 17:22Speaker 2: of frustrated with defenses in the past, I would say,
- 17:25Speaker 2: like just the speed of the defenses. I think that's
- 17:27Speaker 2: been a theme over the last ten years or so.
- 17:29Speaker 2: There was always a desire to find that sideline to
- 17:32Speaker 2: sideline middle linebacker. I mean, you know, just Devin Lloyd
- 17:34Speaker 2: pops into my head, even as recently as a few
- 17:37Speaker 2: years ago, talking about just trying to get faster at
- 17:39Speaker 2: that position. And I think you've really seen this year
- 17:42Speaker 2: that this is a this is a totally different kind
- 17:44Speaker 2: of a defense. And you know, how is Christian Ellis
- 17:47Speaker 2: going to fit in too? I was going back watching
- 17:49Speaker 2: a little bit of some of the games last year
- 17:51Speaker 2: and just you know, seeing him go in when Jawan
- 17:52Speaker 2: Bentley went out I think in Week two, I mean
- 17:54Speaker 2: he got thrust right into the fire and remembering his
- 17:57Speaker 2: journey of really being a special teams guy. Watched a
- 18:00Speaker 2: little of the Eagles America's game last night. They talked
- 18:03Speaker 2: to Zach Bond, who was kind of the poster child
- 18:05Speaker 2: for making a jump from special teams too. I mean,
- 18:07Speaker 2: that's an enormous jump that Zach Bond made. But I
- 18:11Speaker 2: just want those two guys I think in the middle's
- 18:12Speaker 2: gonna be most visible, making a lot of the plays,
- 18:14Speaker 2: making a lot of the tackles and hopefully impact plays
- 18:17Speaker 2: behind the line of scrimmage, plays on the ball. Think
- 18:20Speaker 2: if Splain and Ellis are making those kind of plays,
- 18:22Speaker 2: then it'll it'll bold really well for the defense.
- 18:25Speaker 3: What part of uh Gino's game do the Patriots have
- 18:31Speaker 3: to be most aware of? It's the short game? Is
- 18:36Speaker 3: it taking shots down field? Is it?
- 18:38Speaker 2: I just haven't. I mean, this is I haven't. That's
- 18:41Speaker 2: a good question. Like my first thought is I'm so
- 18:45Speaker 2: concerned about Rock Bauers and Jacoby Myers that maybe you're
- 18:49Speaker 2: sleeping on Dante Thornton Amari Cooper, who's back there now
- 18:53Speaker 2: as well. I know he's close to the end, but
- 18:55Speaker 2: still I think he's a guy who can still play
- 18:57Speaker 2: a little bit. And Trey Turner, those guys with the
- 18:59Speaker 2: speed the ball downfield. And I know last year was
- 19:02Speaker 2: some blown coverages here with Seattle that Gino hit on,
- 19:06Speaker 2: But I.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Just don't think you can give up Big Tucker's the
- 19:08Speaker 4: guy that he plays so like to your point, like,
- 19:10Speaker 4: you know, get him downfield. Trey Tucker can get down
- 19:13Speaker 4: the field and you have a couple. I think you
- 19:15Speaker 4: rolling the dice a little bit with your safeties. Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 4: So I don't think the Raiders are going to come
- 19:20Speaker 4: bombs away. I think I talked about this yesterday. I
- 19:22Speaker 4: would be very surprised if Pete Carroll didn't want to
- 19:24Speaker 4: come out and establish the run. I think that helps
- 19:27Speaker 4: the Patriots, even if they're able to do it, because
- 19:30Speaker 4: I think he keeps the score down and doesn't force
- 19:32Speaker 4: Drake May to have to get in a shootout. And
- 19:34Speaker 4: you know week one it's got to be all on
- 19:36Speaker 4: the offense right away. Well, I don't think it'll have
- 19:38Speaker 4: to be. I think you can win this game sort
- 19:40Speaker 4: of in the low twenties, and I think that's ideal
- 19:43Speaker 4: for where the Patriots are right now. You don't want
- 19:46Speaker 4: to have to have a thirty four to thirty one win.
- 19:48Speaker 4: I mean, you'll take a win no matter how you
- 19:49Speaker 4: get it, obviously, and I'd probably be more excited about
- 19:52Speaker 4: a thirty four to thirty one win than I would.
- 19:54Speaker 3: But don't you think doing that lower Caro is helping
- 19:56Speaker 3: the Patriots.
- 19:57Speaker 4: I just literally just said that, So why does the
- 20:00Speaker 4: heat wouldn't he test? That's what he wants to do.
- 20:02Speaker 4: He wants to run the ball.
- 20:03Speaker 3: I think he wants to win the game, and he.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Wants to do that by running the ball. That's how
- 20:07Speaker 4: he plays. That's what Marshawn Lynch and the whole let
- 20:10Speaker 4: Russ Cook thing in Seattle. That's what he's going on of.
- 20:14Speaker 4: He wants to run the ball. That's how he wants
- 20:15Speaker 4: to win games. He's won a lot of games. I
- 20:17Speaker 4: don't know doing that. And the Patriots biggest weakness on
- 20:20Speaker 4: paper on the defense is run defense. So it's not
- 20:23Speaker 4: like it's a dumb theory.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I'll be surprised if they don't test the Patriots early downfield.
- 20:28Speaker 4: I'd be shocked if they stop going bombs away.
- 20:30Speaker 3: I mean, I don't mean like every other I mean, but.
- 20:32Speaker 4: They might throw one pass like twenty five yards downfield
- 20:36Speaker 4: in the whole game, but it'll be Trey Tucker. That's
- 20:39Speaker 4: the guy that they want to get.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I disagree with that.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I don't think that that's the way that Gino Smith plays.
- 20:44Speaker 4: I don't think he's a downfield passer.
- 20:46Speaker 3: I think he's more of an under mean, if Pete Carroll,
- 20:51Speaker 3: what do you.
- 20:52Speaker 4: I just have you watched Pete Carroll coach at all?
- 20:55Speaker 3: Huh? Like I haven't watched him coach this team.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Okay, so I haven't either. So you seem to know
- 21:01Speaker 4: what they're going to do. I don't. I just assume
- 21:03Speaker 4: he's going to do what Pete Carroll has done in
- 21:04Speaker 4: his other teams. But I haven't seen him coach the Raiders.
- 21:07Speaker 4: I mean, they did draft a running back with the
- 21:09Speaker 4: sixth overall pick. The guy likes to run the ball.
- 21:11Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just making an assumption. I might be wrong.
- 21:14Speaker 4: I've never seen him coach the Raiders.
- 21:15Speaker 3: But the attention paid on genty opens things. I just
- 21:18Speaker 3: think keep a straight face. I just think he's crazy
- 21:22Speaker 3: if he doesn't, if he doesn't stretch the Patriots and
- 21:25Speaker 3: try to test.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Why where's the strength of the Patriots defense? Is the secondary?
- 21:28Speaker 4: I don't even know that it's supposed to be the secondary.
- 21:31Speaker 3: That's why everybody's.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Beating me over the head with all you The linebackers
- 21:34Speaker 4: are thin, the defensive line.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Is secondary is supposed to be good? Is because of Gonzales.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Yes, I understand the missing Gonzales, but there's still the
- 21:42Speaker 4: strength is in the secondary. How do you According to
- 21:44Speaker 4: all of the experts that have talked to me, I'd like.
- 21:47Speaker 3: To see it first.
- 21:47Speaker 4: And if I'm there, very thin at linebacker and they're
- 21:50Speaker 4: very small up front, so run the ball.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I don't know, man, I I would test it.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I would not Pete Carroll. I mean, I think you
- 22:01Speaker 2: us change. You're going a rookie safety back there and
- 22:05Speaker 2: Jas and maybe Alex Austin. I just you asked me
- 22:08Speaker 2: what scares me the most. It's that I do think
- 22:10Speaker 2: that Paul's.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Scare me the most. But I would have different safeties playing,
- 22:15Speaker 4: but they're not on the roster anymore, so I can't
- 22:17Speaker 4: do that.
- 22:17Speaker 3: All the more reason for Pete Carroll to test it.
- 22:21Speaker 4: That's not how we wants to.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Play the stuff that you know. He knows too, but he.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Doesn't want to play that way. And Gino Smith certainly
- 22:27Speaker 4: doesn't want to throw the ball downfield. He doesn't do that.
- 22:31Speaker 4: You certainly didn't do it when Seattle came here last year.
- 22:34Speaker 4: He threw for three hundred yards. Was one big play
- 22:36Speaker 4: that they blew a coverage on the metcalf. Everything else
- 22:39Speaker 4: was j just n across the middle. He had like
- 22:42Speaker 4: double digit catches in that game, right, Yeah, fifteen yard incuts,
- 22:48Speaker 4: you know, five yard shallow crossers trying to pick plays.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Now, you're making me feel better about the Patriots. Not
- 22:54Speaker 2: that I mean, I think the Patriot's gonna win, but
- 22:56Speaker 2: it's making me feel better if they're not willing to
- 22:58Speaker 2: test the Patriots. I agree, without questians all, I hope
- 23:02Speaker 2: that's the case. I'm a little worried about Craig Woodson
- 23:05Speaker 2: in his first start, and you know, going against the
- 23:07Speaker 2: coordinator like Chip Kelly, maybe that changes their approach a
- 23:11Speaker 2: little bit. I mean, I think Paul is right. I
- 23:12Speaker 2: think both teams are going to want early in the season.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Just they're gonna want it on the ball, you know.
- 23:17Speaker 4: And I think it's a mistake, don't pull it all
- 23:18Speaker 4: on your on your quarterback.
- 23:19Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't.
- 23:22Speaker 4: I'm not a scam plan if I were coaching, but
- 23:24Speaker 4: I'm not the coach.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I don't.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I don't really feel bad about the Patriots run defense.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I just don't really know what to expect exactly. Like
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'm not like worried about it, Like if I had
- 23:32Speaker 2: to say, what are you more worried about. I would
- 23:34Speaker 2: say it's hard for me to really get worked up
- 23:36Speaker 2: about run defense, like you know, like.
- 23:38Speaker 4: You can say it's the thing, you can say it
- 23:40Speaker 4: well ahead because it doesn't matter right.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you know, generally speaking, that.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Football because they couldn't stop the run, despite the fact
- 23:48Speaker 4: that really stopping the run is not that much of
- 23:50Speaker 4: an indicator of a team's success.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Kenny Clark to help them out with that. Yeah, so,
- 23:55Speaker 2: I it's a great question. I mean, look, it's just
- 23:57Speaker 2: it's everything in Week one where you just have all
- 23:59Speaker 2: these new coaches, these new schemes, these new players. It's
- 24:01Speaker 2: all it's a mix of of so much and it's
- 24:04Speaker 2: hard to really discern what the attack is going to be.
- 24:06Speaker 2: All I know is what I've seen from the Patriots
- 24:07Speaker 2: this year, And if I was the Raiders, I would
- 24:10Speaker 2: be trying to get gente on screens and I would
- 24:12Speaker 2: I would have Bowers in the crossas the whole time.
- 24:15Speaker 2: And I'm sure that they will do that. That's why
- 24:17Speaker 2: it's I just don't want them to sleep on Thornton
- 24:20Speaker 2: and Tucker.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I think Mike is that's it. I think Mike's game plan.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Is it that to me is running the ball by
- 24:25Speaker 4: the way genty on screens and yeah, sure, short throws
- 24:28Speaker 4: to Bowers. That's basically an extension of the running game.
- 24:31Speaker 4: But especially the screens, because I.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Mean, if I'm reading what people are writing about the
- 24:36Speaker 2: Patriots defense this summer, I'm expecting an aggressive defense that
- 24:39Speaker 2: you're not going to be able to drop back and
- 24:41Speaker 2: launch it. You got to hope that over the course
- 24:44Speaker 2: of the beginning of the game that the screens and
- 24:45Speaker 2: the short stuff and the running at genty gets the
- 24:48Speaker 2: Patriots defense so locked up on that that you know,
- 24:50Speaker 2: you got a rookie Craig Woodson who all of a sudden,
- 24:52Speaker 2: here goes Trey Tucker right by you, and you know that.
- 24:56Speaker 2: To me, you're gonna win a low scoring game. If
- 24:59Speaker 2: you can prevent that, then I think you have a
- 25:00Speaker 2: chance to. But if you start giving up even just
- 25:02Speaker 2: a couple of big plays, I mean you mentioned the
- 25:03Speaker 2: big scu Hey, let me the DK metcalf that changed.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Let me ask it. Let me ask this question. You're
- 25:07Speaker 3: Mike Vrabel. You've got three days, three four days left
- 25:11Speaker 3: before the game. Which side of the ball are you
- 25:13Speaker 3: most paying attention to? Right? Now for you, for my own,
- 25:17Speaker 3: for my own team, for my own team, whose meetings
- 25:20Speaker 3: are you attending more m offense?
- 25:25Speaker 2: I think you he trust Terrell Williams, and I mean
- 25:27Speaker 2: not to say he doesn't trust Josh mctaniels, but I
- 25:30Speaker 2: just I think you have to trust your defense, but
- 25:32Speaker 2: you have to believe your offense can win the game.
- 25:34Speaker 2: And that's where I would no matter what happens with
- 25:36Speaker 2: our defense, if we score on off points, we're gonna
- 25:38Speaker 2: win the game. So I'd lean offense, right.
- 25:41Speaker 3: I think he's gonna lean defense. I think he's gonna
- 25:45Speaker 3: put his thumbprint on this game more on defense than offense.
- 25:48Speaker 3: And let Josh cook Yeah, I mean, what do you think, Paul?
- 25:55Speaker 6: I think to go either way because a lot of
- 25:57Speaker 6: the guys he brought in on defense are like his guys,
- 26:00Speaker 6: So maybe there's that level of comfortability where he's like, Okay,
- 26:04Speaker 6: I don't need to spend as much time here because
- 26:06Speaker 6: they understand like my system. Yeah, so let me go
- 26:09Speaker 6: over here. But I but it could go.
- 26:11Speaker 3: No, You're right about his guys, But in doing so,
- 26:15Speaker 3: I think he has a vision for this defense, whereas
- 26:18Speaker 3: the offense is probably going to be more Josh's vision.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I hear what you're saying, Fred. I
- 26:23Speaker 2: just I think that there's more. If I'm a head coach,
- 26:25Speaker 2: there's more for me to say. All right, So what
- 26:27Speaker 2: are we doing on third down? If they bring Crosby
- 26:31Speaker 2: and Butler over here and they're gonna be running stunts
- 26:33Speaker 2: off this office side with our two rookies that that
- 26:35Speaker 2: are expected to start, You know, that's a big concern
- 26:38Speaker 2: to me. You know, how much are we going to
- 26:39Speaker 2: play Diggs? Is he ready to go every snap? And
- 26:42Speaker 2: we want, you know, which would be good for the offense?
- 26:44Speaker 2: I think to have him out there always as a threat.
- 26:46Speaker 2: How are we going to rotate guys in? Do we
- 26:48Speaker 2: need to is is Morgan Moses on a pitch count?
- 26:52Speaker 2: Does he Is he going to need to you know,
- 26:54Speaker 2: take some snaps off? Or we're gonna have to put
- 26:56Speaker 2: in Marcus Bryan in there for a little bit. You know,
- 26:58Speaker 2: like all those question how are we gonna justvon? We
- 27:00Speaker 2: don't want to put him in a bad position. So
- 27:03Speaker 2: I don't know that's to me. I mean maybe that's
- 27:04Speaker 2: just how I'm wired. Because the defense, I feel like
- 27:07Speaker 2: I trust Robert Splaine, I trust these these veterans that
- 27:10Speaker 2: I have to go after it, and it's an aggressive scheme,
- 27:12Speaker 2: go attack. Like there's not a lot to say, but
- 27:14Speaker 2: there's a lot of in my mind, variables on offense
- 27:17Speaker 2: that you need to manage.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Do you think this this game will be declared early?
- 27:23Speaker 3: Not not who's gonna win or not, but the style
- 27:25Speaker 3: of the game.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I'm going to say no. I'm going to say it's
- 27:28Speaker 2: a weird Week one game where you know there's ebbs
- 27:30Speaker 2: and flows, and you know, maybe a weird turnover, and
- 27:33Speaker 2: you know there just might be some sloppiness that ever
- 27:36Speaker 2: prevents you from really getting a beat on. This is
- 27:38Speaker 2: what this game is, right, I mean, maybe it will,
- 27:40Speaker 2: but I just expect some weird swings.
- 27:42Speaker 4: I totally agree with the Week one stuff that Belichick
- 27:46Speaker 4: always talked about, but I do feel both teams are
- 27:48Speaker 4: going to want to run the ball. Fred I, if
- 27:50Speaker 4: I were I agree with you, I would want to
- 27:54Speaker 4: throw the ball. But that's me virtually every game. I think,
- 27:56Speaker 4: if I want to try to score points, that's how
- 27:58Speaker 4: you do Dan Pastorini. Yeah, but get a lead and
- 28:01Speaker 4: then you want to run the ball to put the
- 28:02Speaker 4: game away, like do it the other way. So many
- 28:04Speaker 4: teams want to come out and take pressure off their quarterback.
- 28:07Speaker 4: I think it does the opposite. I think it creates
- 28:10Speaker 4: a lot of third and eights for your quarterback that
- 28:12Speaker 4: you exactly what you don't want to be in. Whereas
- 28:15Speaker 4: you know, nice little play action pass for like seven
- 28:18Speaker 4: yards on first down, that's taking the pressure off your quarterback,
- 28:22Speaker 4: giving him an easy throw to get ahead of the chains,
- 28:25Speaker 4: and then you're you know, making easier conversions on third downs.
- 28:29Speaker 4: That's how I think you take pressure off your quarterback.
- 28:32Speaker 4: And I think a lot of times teams do it
- 28:36Speaker 4: the other way. They try to run the ball and
- 28:37Speaker 4: play defense and conservative. Now you're in a low scoring
- 28:41Speaker 4: slug fest, and I kind of think it's going to
- 28:44Speaker 4: declare to something like that.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it might be hard to determine, but I'm just
- 28:48Speaker 2: interested to see how Drake is different with Josh and
- 28:52Speaker 2: his ear and going through stuff with him. It seems
- 28:55Speaker 2: like it'll be a very different game experience for Drake,
- 28:58Speaker 2: not just because Josh will be in his ear, but
- 29:00Speaker 2: having to make calls and a little bit more on
- 29:02Speaker 2: his plate. Does it change his style at all? Getting
- 29:05Speaker 2: hard at discern, I don't really not sure how you
- 29:07Speaker 2: would you excited.
- 29:09Speaker 3: This is like, you know, I guess it's like that
- 29:12Speaker 3: this every year.
- 29:13Speaker 4: But yeah, I get checked up for the start of
- 29:15Speaker 4: every season. I absolutely do.
- 29:16Speaker 3: But you know, there's so much unknown here. I mean,
- 29:19Speaker 3: it's all kind of new.
- 29:21Speaker 2: And that's why I felt going through the games this
- 29:22Speaker 2: weekend over the whole across the whole league, where it's
- 29:24Speaker 2: just so many teams that are evenly matched or have
- 29:27Speaker 2: really i mean the Jets and the Steelers like flip
- 29:30Speaker 2: flop quarterbacks. You know, there's so many weird things like
- 29:33Speaker 2: that going on. It's just it's so hard to make
- 29:35Speaker 2: a prediction what's going to happen. I'm like, this is
- 29:37Speaker 2: a chemistry experiment.
- 29:38Speaker 4: I don't know, it's like the old the old exercise
- 29:40Speaker 4: in school when you know you're you're asked to sort
- 29:42Speaker 4: of make an argument for two things. You know, make
- 29:45Speaker 4: time to shine there, make an argument for the Giants
- 29:49Speaker 4: being a playoff.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I mean, I've heard I've heard people.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Talk about the Giants as being but then at the
- 29:54Speaker 4: same time, they have on paper, the most difficult schedule
- 29:57Speaker 4: in football, So you know, make an argue and against it.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Well that's it. You know, they don't really have the
- 30:02Speaker 4: solved their quarterback yet even if Jackson Dart ends up
- 30:05Speaker 4: being the starter, you know, so like you could do
- 30:07Speaker 4: that with so many.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Teams up and down the league. Yeah, yeap. So it's
- 30:12Speaker 3: exciting and I love you. Just want to see how
- 30:15Speaker 3: it all unfolds.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Because as little as I'm interested in divisional matchups like
- 30:20Speaker 4: Dallas and Philly, tonight, I'll be glued. At eight o'clock,
- 30:23Speaker 4: I'll be you know whatever, A twenty start is it Like,
- 30:26Speaker 4: I'll be ready to go have a great match. I
- 30:27Speaker 4: can't wait. Yeah, the title Now, I don't know if
- 30:31Speaker 4: I'll make it to the second half. I hear that,
- 30:33Speaker 4: the second second half.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I hear that. All right, So you.
- 30:37Speaker 7: Sound like a seven pm coffee.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Oh we're all excited. Anyone have anything special plan for tonight?
- 30:46Speaker 3: Not chows.
- 30:47Speaker 4: I don't have anything special plan.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Also, I think I might have to get you going.
- 30:53Speaker 7: I gave you a little your recipe for you. I
- 30:56Speaker 7: wasn't really a small I might have you like right
- 31:00Speaker 7: up a rescue.
- 31:02Speaker 6: Like ingredients like I need that for the newsletter.
- 31:05Speaker 4: I think today it would have been perfect if you
- 31:07Speaker 4: could have actually seen me do it. It was literally
- 31:10Speaker 4: I know exactly why I was I was starving, and
- 31:13Speaker 4: was it all in the house. I was starving. I'm like,
- 31:19Speaker 4: there wasn't even any real chipsty like just the tosedos.
- 31:23Speaker 4: So I grabbed them and I'm like, I just dumped
- 31:27Speaker 4: the whole thing out because I was like, I'm not
- 31:28Speaker 4: going to put a handful. I'm just gonna dump the
- 31:30Speaker 4: whole thing. And I'm like, I hope we didn't hurt anybody.
- 31:35Speaker 4: So and then I'm like looking into refrigerating this like
- 31:37Speaker 4: shredded cheese.
- 31:39Speaker 7: There you go, even like Mexican.
- 31:42Speaker 4: It was, it was, it was. And then I got
- 31:45Speaker 4: some salsa and like put like spoonfuls here in there.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Tues after school in high school, snack all day long,
- 31:51Speaker 2: microwave nachos.
- 31:53Speaker 4: I put them in the actual oven, convection regular oven.
- 31:58Speaker 3: But like your oven isn't all so a convection oven,
- 32:01Speaker 3: I don't think. So there's no button that says convection.
- 32:04Speaker 4: I don't think so many are most are now.
- 32:08Speaker 7: You just probably don't.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Yeah, what would be the difference?
- 32:12Speaker 3: It circulates air while it's baking, So Mike, so holy Cross.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Every once in a while, I don't know if me,
- 32:20Speaker 2: if I are finishing each other's sentences.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Yet yeah, okay.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Air fire too were pretty good with that.
- 32:26Speaker 3: A lot of people swear by the air fry.
- 32:28Speaker 4: So the air fryer, to me, would not have made
- 32:31Speaker 4: enough nachos.
- 32:31Speaker 3: For my liking I size cookie.
- 32:35Speaker 4: I had a cookie sheet going oh yeah, well listen,
- 32:38Speaker 4: and then I made a couple of sandwiches and handleton listen.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Eating is a tradition in the Perillo household, and football
- 32:45Speaker 3: fans know that traditions matter, turning moments together into something
- 32:49Speaker 3: truly epic. There would inspire us to make our masa
- 32:52Speaker 3: in tostitos the traditional way, starting with whole corn kernels,
- 32:57Speaker 3: no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, all to give you
- 33:01Speaker 3: that perfect crunch. Discover your next tradition this football season.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Head to the store, grab your Tostito's team bag and
- 33:08Speaker 3: scan the code for a chance to win epic experiences
- 33:11Speaker 3: with the Patriots. Tostito's tradition matters. So yeah, I might.
- 33:17Speaker 3: I might pop some tostitos in the oven tonight.
- 33:21Speaker 2: I love a good nacho plate. There is just I
- 33:23Speaker 2: order one off the appetizer menu a lot at the restaurant.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Sometimes I have a restaurant and for my meal I'll.
- 33:29Speaker 4: If and I will get nachos a lot, just you know,
- 33:31Speaker 4: if we're like, you know, not a fancy place, but
- 33:34Speaker 4: just you know, real quick to get an app and
- 33:36Speaker 4: we'll pick that nachos better than others.
- 33:39Speaker 3: You have to be able to figure out how to
- 33:41Speaker 3: get the cheese layered so that it's not all.
- 33:44Speaker 7: Making it is the best. I go all.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Out, like I didn't do it right then.
- 33:49Speaker 6: Now my garden if I don't or show the store
- 33:54Speaker 6: because I think actually the pickled ones are the best
- 33:56Speaker 6: in the jar for nacho purposes. Yeah, but like stick
- 34:00Speaker 6: back exactly and then you just like layer it, you know,
- 34:03Speaker 6: like every ingredient.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Make your own chips. I'll do that. I'll make my
- 34:07Speaker 2: own chips.
- 34:08Speaker 6: I've done it with my mom. I've done it with
- 34:11Speaker 6: my mom. But it's too much business.
- 34:13Speaker 5: It is a lot of bits.
- 34:14Speaker 7: But I got a small kitchen.
- 34:15Speaker 4: This guy make your own making his own chips.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Just take a tortilla, cut it up, fry it up,
- 34:20Speaker 2: and some.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Fry and I think I've done something. This guy's making
- 34:26Speaker 4: his own shop.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Well, spend some time in California, you know, yeah, the quality.
- 34:30Speaker 6: Well, today is a big day because in Hartford Connecticut.
- 34:33Speaker 6: It's the Lake Cruise Ahouse sale. I have my friend
- 34:38Speaker 6: ground right now, all the stuff on my wish.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I'm sorry, what the great they had a great Dutch
- 34:44Speaker 2: of him.
- 34:45Speaker 7: A Dutch of it is not when you under the
- 34:48Speaker 7: I do.
- 34:49Speaker 3: That's the only Dutch of it. I know what a
- 34:51Speaker 3: Duch of it is.
- 34:52Speaker 4: I do all that to say.
- 34:54Speaker 6: My friend just secured a really like heavy bottom, nice
- 34:58Speaker 6: casserole dish for me in the color shower.
- 35:00Speaker 3: It is a color.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like a light, beautiful purple like the outside
- 35:04Speaker 6: of a shallotte would be. And uh yeah, so I
- 35:07Speaker 6: was looking for an excuse to use it tonight.
- 35:09Speaker 7: I didn't know what to make them.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't keep track of all the different kind
- 35:15Speaker 2: of Yeah.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I was never a big walk pearl. Love it.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I love it. And uh sorry I'm dragging this on.
- 35:22Speaker 2: But my wife just made this new thing where it's
- 35:24Speaker 2: avocado cattage cheese, there's pickles in it cilantro and it's
- 35:28Speaker 2: this little salad and it was so California.
- 35:33Speaker 4: You are so California though, all right.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Natcho Talk eight five five past five hundred is the
- 35:38Speaker 3: hotline podcast at Patriots dot Com. Jacket and Arbor says
- 35:42Speaker 3: a Paul Wore a TV show, it'd be entitled Curb
- 35:44Speaker 3: Your Enthusiast. I'm very excited to see the new England
- 35:49Speaker 3: Patriots debut of Stefan Diggs. He's the best receiver to
- 35:52Speaker 3: wear a Patriot's uniform in years. He will keep defenses
- 35:55Speaker 3: honest by stretching the field and give Drake May a
- 35:57Speaker 3: reliable weapon in red zone and third down situations.
- 36:00Speaker 4: I don't know about I told you, Fred, that's the
- 36:03Speaker 4: way people are thinking. That's okay, Jack and and Arbor,
- 36:06Speaker 4: thank you, Okay. People are excited. They haven't really had
- 36:10Speaker 4: a top receiver in a long time.
- 36:12Speaker 3: I agree. I agree.
- 36:14Speaker 4: I'm hearing people talk, you know, like sort of finger
- 36:17Speaker 4: wagging the media for not giving the wide receiver group
- 36:20Speaker 4: in general enough props. And I keep poo pooing it
- 36:24Speaker 4: by saying, what do you got after Diggs?
- 36:26Speaker 3: Yeah, well, like, okay, so let's talk about it.
- 36:29Speaker 4: But that's but that's my point is there's a lot
- 36:31Speaker 4: of excitement for Diggs.
- 36:32Speaker 3: What should we be expecting from mac Collins.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I think he's gonna have a good year. I mean,
- 36:39Speaker 2: he's been incredibly productive in the preseason. He's one another
- 36:42Speaker 2: one of those kind of X factors to me, and
- 36:44Speaker 2: I get Paul's point. I think where I land on
- 36:46Speaker 2: all this wide receiver talk is just is there enough
- 36:49Speaker 2: there for Drake to improve and to make a push
- 36:52Speaker 2: and to compete. I think there is right now. I
- 36:54Speaker 2: don't think that you're gonna come out of the season.
- 36:55Speaker 2: We just don't know because he no, I agree with me, No,
- 36:57Speaker 2: I think there's enough there still.
- 36:59Speaker 4: I think that has been eliminated with the sign of
- 37:01Speaker 4: Stefan Diggs. Yeah, I agree with Mike.
- 37:04Speaker 2: You set up Drake to take a step forward. I
- 37:07Speaker 2: think that's the best you can do. They still need more.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I'd love to see Kyle Williams get out there and
- 37:11Speaker 2: see what he can develop into. But going back to
- 37:13Speaker 2: your original question, I think Matt Collins will bring a
- 37:16Speaker 2: presence on the outside and will be I'm just saying
- 37:19Speaker 2: it now. And Raiders, if you're listening, tune.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Out right now.
- 37:21Speaker 2: But like every first down from the thirty ind they're
- 37:23Speaker 2: gonna be a fade to Mac Collins. Like I feel
- 37:26Speaker 2: like that's just in Josh's DNA, even going back to
- 37:29Speaker 2: his last time where you just knew, like DeVante Parker
- 37:32Speaker 2: back then, like here we go, here comes the shots
- 37:35Speaker 2: to the end zone. That's what they're gonna do, MATC Collins,
- 37:37Speaker 2: they'll probably have a you know, five six touchdowns.
- 37:39Speaker 3: I would BET's size, you know, he's.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a different kind of receiver, but I think
- 37:44Speaker 4: he takes the boorn role, like that sort of secondary
- 37:47Speaker 4: guy that can be productive. Different kind of player. Born
- 37:51Speaker 4: is quicker, smaller, you know, in Hollins, I think is
- 37:54Speaker 4: a little bit more straight line speed with the size. Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 4: so totally different kind of players, but veteran complimentary piece.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I just like that he'll bring a
- 38:04Speaker 2: presence on the outside. I think it's something they need.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Well, Kyle Williams play in this game, Yeah.
- 38:09Speaker 4: I think I think so.
- 38:10Speaker 2: I mean, I know, I didn't expect a lot of
- 38:13Speaker 2: people to play. I mean I meant that in like
- 38:14Speaker 2: crunch time, but I think a lot of a lot
- 38:17Speaker 2: of people will will play, you know, the key on
- 38:19Speaker 2: Whites of the world, the Anthony Jennings of the world.
- 38:22Speaker 2: You know, I'm most curious about Dougar. Just tell me
- 38:24Speaker 2: what what what does that look like? Does he have
- 38:26Speaker 2: a role on defense or does he just get like
- 38:29Speaker 2: some rotational snaps to you know, get Hawkins or Woodson
- 38:33Speaker 2: some time out.
- 38:34Speaker 3: All right, A five five past five hundred. Let's go
- 38:36Speaker 3: to the phones. We'll start with Sean and Vancouver. What's
- 38:39Speaker 3: up Sean?
- 38:41Speaker 9: Hey, guys, I'm looking forward to being at the game.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I guess so you've been on hold since yesterday.
- 38:49Speaker 10: That's great.
- 38:51Speaker 9: So I'm excited about Diggs and it's it's looking better
- 38:57Speaker 9: than because when he's signed, I thought, Okay, he'll probably
- 39:02Speaker 9: be on the pop to start the season, and now
- 39:04Speaker 9: he's going he should be ready for Game one, and uh,
- 39:07Speaker 9: that's that's really great. One thing, and I don't know
- 39:09Speaker 9: if I'm going to be right, but one thing I
- 39:11Speaker 9: kind of have a feeling about is Digs little lead
- 39:15Speaker 9: in yards, but I think, uh, pop will lead in
- 39:19Speaker 9: in receptions. Does that sound crazy to you? I'll let
- 39:22Speaker 9: you go so that I know you. You got to hurry,
- 39:23Speaker 9: so enjoy it.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Okay, I hear what you're saying. But I think that
- 39:29Speaker 3: if Diggs leads in yards, he will also be leading
- 39:32Speaker 3: in receptions because I don't think his catches are going
- 39:35Speaker 3: to be you know, the long form like the old Digs.
- 39:39Speaker 3: I think there'll be more of the crossers and shallow stuff,
- 39:43Speaker 3: and so in order to get you know, the yards,
- 39:47Speaker 3: he's going to need a lot of receptions.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I think I generally, I think I generally agree with that.
- 39:51Speaker 2: I'd see it more as Edelman and Amadola and you know,
- 39:55Speaker 2: can Pop Douglas chip in in key spots as a
- 39:58Speaker 2: second kind of slot guy. I think that's a good
- 40:00Speaker 2: role for now.
- 40:01Speaker 3: When you look at Edelman and Amadola, Adla's probably yards
- 40:05Speaker 3: per catch was more than Edelman's, I would.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Say, yeah, I mean, I mean was similar, But yeah,
- 40:11Speaker 4: I think the volume overall of you know, Edelman's definitely
- 40:14Speaker 4: the engine, got to have a moment, but you know,
- 40:16Speaker 4: you have a secondary, reliable guy in Pop Douglas that
- 40:20Speaker 4: can probably get open pretty quick and you know, give
- 40:22Speaker 4: you that quick ball, get it out, quick game stuff
- 40:26Speaker 4: that I think will mostly go to Diggs. Yeah, I agree.
- 40:29Speaker 4: I think Diggs will lead in both receptions and yards
- 40:32Speaker 4: provided that he stays healthy. Obviously a big, big if,
- 40:35Speaker 4: but I would be surprised if he's not the the
- 40:39Speaker 4: leading target guy, which is going to lead to more catches,
- 40:42Speaker 4: more yards.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Let's see Brian's in Lowell. What's up Brian? Brian going
- 40:52Speaker 3: on Lowell? Phones are down and lowell. All right, maybe
- 40:56Speaker 3: try to call back. Eldred's on the phone. What's up? Aldred?
- 41:02Speaker 8: Hey, Alex, Fred, Mike, how y'all doing good?
- 41:05Speaker 2: Hell?
- 41:05Speaker 3: Paul?
- 41:07Speaker 8: Hey, hey Paul? You look wrong? Bro? He like throwing
- 41:11Speaker 8: it too. Yeah, he little roung with Carol. He likes
- 41:14Speaker 8: running it, but that ain't the only way he likes winning.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Okay, we'll see.
- 41:18Speaker 8: I'm I'm more questioned about the secondary without Gunzo. And
- 41:25Speaker 8: if I think Evan said yesterday that Dante had a good,
- 41:29Speaker 8: good camp with them, that's what That's the other reason
- 41:32Speaker 8: I wanted. But everybody passed on. I'm just going about
- 41:35Speaker 8: to speak because he got to work running Brunning by
- 41:37Speaker 8: the secondary Donte Thornton for the Raiders. That's what I'm worried.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, all right, I'll let you go with that.
- 41:46Speaker 3: All right, thanks Aldred? All right, and he give us
- 41:49Speaker 3: a prediction I should have asked. All right, Now let's
- 41:53Speaker 3: go to Christian in l A.
- 41:57Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 41:57Speaker 10: Hey you guys, Hey, you know, I'm not so certain
- 42:00Speaker 10: why you While you guys are so excited like it
- 42:03Speaker 10: so sort of sunshine and rainbows, I'm actually worried. We
- 42:07Speaker 10: we are going into week number one, with the offensive
- 42:11Speaker 10: line that is unproven and untested, with a guy on
- 42:14Speaker 10: the left who's got kind of short arms. That's when
- 42:17Speaker 10: against Mac Tarby, Max Crubbs is gonna line up, line
- 42:19Speaker 10: up and go at him all day. We have a
- 42:22Speaker 10: quarterback who forgive me for saying patriot Land is unproven
- 42:27Speaker 10: and unknown. Yet it's easy for a guy who has
- 42:30Speaker 10: some decent skills and no one has Taypon to get
- 42:33Speaker 10: in for four or five games at the end of
- 42:34Speaker 10: the season and do decently. We have not seen him
- 42:38Speaker 10: do decently in our our preseason in practice, I haven't
- 42:42Speaker 10: heard anything super positive about Drake MAYBERSI oh yeah, he's
- 42:46Speaker 10: really comfortable and he looks like we have a wide
- 42:48Speaker 10: receiving number one who could possibly be washed up, a
- 42:53Speaker 10: wide receiving number two.
- 42:54Speaker 4: I don't watch Christian. Can I just ask you something
- 42:57Speaker 4: and also stop for Kenny. Would would you feel better
- 43:02Speaker 4: if you were hearing stuff that was positive or would
- 43:05Speaker 4: you wait until you saw it yourself.
- 43:10Speaker 10: Hearing something like?
- 43:11Speaker 4: You know, see, I completely disregard people when they tell
- 43:13Speaker 4: me stuff like that if I haven't seen it, Like
- 43:17Speaker 4: I'm going to watch a game, you know, like I'm sorry,
- 43:21Speaker 4: I just don't necessarily believe. Like if I were to
- 43:25Speaker 4: believe what I'm hearing from ESPN about Cleveland all year,
- 43:29Speaker 4: I would think should Do a Sanders is on the
- 43:30Speaker 4: verge of a Pro Bowl season, But yet he's listed
- 43:33Speaker 4: at like fourth on the depth chart by the people
- 43:36Speaker 4: that are actually doing the stuff for Cleveland. So it
- 43:39Speaker 4: doesn't make me feel better if I'm a should Do
- 43:41Speaker 4: a Sanders fan that ESPN is saying all these wonderful
- 43:43Speaker 4: things about shed with Sanders when Cleveland doesn't think he's
- 43:46Speaker 4: better than any of the guys on their office. Dylan
- 43:49Speaker 4: Gabriel is ahead of them on the depth chart, and
- 43:51Speaker 4: I don't think that much of Dylan Gabriel. So I
- 43:55Speaker 4: don't know why, like someone saying something would affect your ination.
- 43:59Speaker 4: And I think you're being ingenuous because I think if
- 44:01Speaker 4: we were saying all these nice things, you'd be saying
- 44:03Speaker 4: that we're just doing sunshine and rainbows and trying to
- 44:06Speaker 4: put lipstick on a page.
- 44:07Speaker 3: But I think Christian, I understand that a lot of
- 44:09Speaker 3: this is unknown, but that's kind of what makes me excited.
- 44:13Speaker 3: It's like I don't know about the intrigue, right.
- 44:16Speaker 10: Right, You guys don't worry that our number one cornerback
- 44:20Speaker 10: it's not going to be there.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Of course we're are so worried.
- 44:24Speaker 3: So why all the false bravado.
- 44:28Speaker 4: Where's the false bravado coming.
- 44:30Speaker 3: It's not like we're sitting up here, go Patriots by
- 44:32Speaker 3: fifth fifty.
- 44:33Speaker 4: That would be false. Come on, this game could go away.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's ridiculous. I'm walking out right now.
- 44:39Speaker 4: All right, Mike, I don't blame you, Mike, Mike, I
- 44:42Speaker 4: don't blame you at all.
- 44:43Speaker 3: To the locker room holy cross. All right.
- 44:46Speaker 4: No, in all seriousness, this game is a toss up game.
- 44:50Speaker 4: We've been talking all week that it was like two
- 44:52Speaker 4: and a half point spread. I think right now, let
- 44:55Speaker 4: a little cat out of the bag for this will
- 44:56Speaker 4: make you feel better. It's up to three. Okay, the
- 44:59Speaker 4: line move from two and a half to three. That
- 45:01Speaker 4: means people are betting the Patriots right and wanting to
- 45:03Speaker 4: just stop you before you did something right to hurt yourself.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Where's the money money's coming in? So this game could
- 45:12Speaker 4: go either way. I think ESPN's FPI thing that does
- 45:16Speaker 4: the game says the Patriots have a fifty two percent
- 45:18Speaker 4: chance of winning. I like it, so like take it.
- 45:21Speaker 4: That's a coin for so No, there's no false bravado. No,
- 45:24Speaker 4: that's just trolling. He's like, no one is sitting here
- 45:26Speaker 4: saying Patriots forty eight to eleven.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Like that's false perv. That's why I let him go.
- 45:32Speaker 4: This could go This game could go either way. It
- 45:34Speaker 4: was the call with some of us on this show
- 45:37Speaker 4: are not even picking the Patriots to win? Is that right?
- 45:41Speaker 3: Well we'll find out around one thirty who that might be.
- 45:44Speaker 3: All right, I'm gonna take a break. Christian's phone call
- 45:48Speaker 3: made me hungry when we come back and calls and
- 45:52Speaker 3: emails and uh what else? Whatever else we do? All right,

- 47:58Speaker 15: Good a man away, Good, good, good.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Your thoughts on the Major's defense from what you've studied
- 48:09Speaker 2: and the challenges that they want?
- 48:11Speaker 11: Yeah, I think you know, first off, you know, with
- 48:13Speaker 11: what coach Carroll has done and in this league, they've
- 48:15Speaker 11: had some great differences. And obviously his scheme and obviously
- 48:19Speaker 11: the one you know, crowdy you know, jumps out on tape.
- 48:21Speaker 11: And they got some veteran some veteran linebackers, some guys
- 48:24Speaker 11: that we're playing, play hard and you know, come up
- 48:26Speaker 11: and hit you. And I think that they do, they're
- 48:29Speaker 11: they're good at what they do. I think you're gonna know,
- 48:32Speaker 11: they're gonna, you know, bring it every play. And I
- 48:34Speaker 11: think for us, we just gotta stay ahead of the
- 48:37Speaker 11: chains and uh try to do our best to you know,
- 48:39Speaker 11: get off to a good start and then uh, like
- 48:41Speaker 11: I said, just follow our keys and and uh, you.
- 48:43Speaker 15: Know, No ninety eight.
- 48:44Speaker 11: You know he's a great player in this league. Plays hard,
- 48:46Speaker 11: he know, plays a lot of effort. And they got
- 48:48Speaker 11: a veteran, you know, a couple veteran safeties, so who's
- 48:51Speaker 11: made some plays and good ball skills. So we gotta
- 48:54Speaker 11: you gotta be on our game. It's gonna be out
- 48:55Speaker 11: there in your week one, you know, turn at home.
- 48:57Speaker 11: So I'm excited and looking forward to it.
- 48:59Speaker 3: It comes to Crosby.
- 49:01Speaker 16: A lot of people look at the offensive line and
- 49:03Speaker 16: how they handle them, but how can the rest of
- 49:06Speaker 16: the offense maybe neutralize what.
- 49:08Speaker 15: He's able to do on Yeah, no doubt.
- 49:10Speaker 11: I think it's hard to me, you know, getting the
- 49:12Speaker 11: ball out on time, you know, not holding it, you know,
- 49:14Speaker 11: no one, don't.
- 49:14Speaker 15: You know bypass? You know, the first guy open, I
- 49:16Speaker 15: see the open, trying to hunt a deeper one.
- 49:19Speaker 11: You'll help, you know different, you know, the running backs
- 49:21Speaker 11: can help, you know, in the protection. You know, I
- 49:23Speaker 11: think little things like that, and I think scheme.
- 49:25Speaker 15: I think me just getting us.
- 49:26Speaker 11: In the right plays and and knowing when he's one
- 49:28Speaker 11: on one and knowing when you know we have help
- 49:29Speaker 11: to him and I think, uh, from there, just like
- 49:32Speaker 11: I said, for our keys and know if it's emphasis
- 49:33Speaker 11: for us this week, then just you'll follow that and
- 49:37Speaker 11: stay true to it.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:38Speaker 6: Are you comfortable enough getting the new office, the new
- 49:42Speaker 6: offense to.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Be able to make those kind of quick freeds and
- 49:45Speaker 4: get rid of love quickly?
- 49:47Speaker 7: I you that comfortable with you know the offense and
- 49:52Speaker 7: being able to read the defense.
- 49:54Speaker 15: What's gonna fit es ma'am.
- 49:55Speaker 11: Yeah, I think that's that's part of what we you know,
- 49:57Speaker 11: watch film who as part of what we come out
- 49:58Speaker 11: here and practice for is you know, no one, no
- 50:02Speaker 11: one checkdowns and no one hey you know my first look.
- 50:04Speaker 11: If they're giving it to me, you'll take it. And
- 50:07Speaker 11: I think that's the best part of playing quarterback in
- 50:08Speaker 11: this league. Find completions and I feel confident in myself.
- 50:11Speaker 11: I feel like at times last year when I got
- 50:13Speaker 11: the ball out on time and you've got the ball
- 50:15Speaker 11: to the right guy, we moved the ball well. So
- 50:17Speaker 11: I think just trying to you know, start off this
- 50:18Speaker 11: season with that mindset and like I said, stay ahead
- 50:21Speaker 11: of the chains and do my part and you'll find
- 50:23Speaker 11: completions and not holding the.
- 50:24Speaker 4: Ball like getting stuffin famous this off season and hop
- 50:28Speaker 4: sent of him just to start.
- 50:30Speaker 11: It's been an awesome to bomb with such a high level player.
- 50:33Speaker 11: I think it's you know, continue to show us as
- 50:36Speaker 11: a game, you know, game weeknd and game day comes
- 50:38Speaker 11: close from closer, the kind of how much he's elevating
- 50:40Speaker 11: his game and elevating.
- 50:41Speaker 15: His practice style.
- 50:42Speaker 11: So you know, it's I'm looking forward to green out
- 50:44Speaker 11: there with him on Sunday, and I think you'll see, uh,
- 50:48Speaker 11: you know, a good energy from from Steph and I'm
- 50:49Speaker 11: looking forward to get him the rock and and and
- 50:53Speaker 11: let him do his thing.
- 50:54Speaker 2: You you veteran player learned dot call and what kind
- 50:57Speaker 2: of ads see brings the offense.
- 50:59Speaker 3: And he's third.
- 51:00Speaker 15: Yeah, it's constant.
- 51:01Speaker 11: I think it's the best thing you see about you know,
- 51:04Speaker 11: mag He brings it every day. You know, it's no
- 51:05Speaker 11: off days, and you know he's he's working extra. He's
- 51:09Speaker 11: you know, drawing up plays and asking me to you know,
- 51:11Speaker 11: come to extra walkthroughs and and doing things that you
- 51:13Speaker 11: will show up on Sundays and show up in practice.
- 51:15Speaker 11: So I think from that, you know, you know, what
- 51:18Speaker 11: else would you expect from from a tar heel. So
- 51:21Speaker 11: he's just got to brought a great energy to the room.
- 51:23Speaker 11: You know, veteran does all the right things, you know,
- 51:25Speaker 11: blocks in the run game, and I think he's, uh,
- 51:27Speaker 11: you're gonna be rewarded with you know, being in there
- 51:29Speaker 11: and making plays great.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Josh his coach against the defense can Ford times he
- 51:36Speaker 3: con't have.
- 51:39Speaker 5: The things I've.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Seen players and have you got that?
- 51:46Speaker 11: Yeah, going back watching Super Bowl, going back watching the
- 51:49Speaker 11: COVID game with Cam when nobody in the stands. Yeah,
- 51:52Speaker 11: I think it's great having you know, coach McDaniels, who's
- 51:54Speaker 11: you know, played against his defense and and uh, you
- 51:57Speaker 11: know knows knows some extra little tidbits for me to know,
- 52:01Speaker 11: whether it's in the huddle or before on this play.
- 52:04Speaker 11: I think it's great to you know, have you know,
- 52:06Speaker 11: play color in the corner. Who's you know, play against
- 52:08Speaker 11: the scheme in the Super Bowl? And I studied a
- 52:10Speaker 11: lot and I think that's with you know, a lot
- 52:11Speaker 11: of corners in this league's played against him and seen him.
- 52:13Speaker 15: And I think.
- 52:15Speaker 11: It's great to have that in the room and you'll
- 52:17Speaker 11: see what he's kind of getting on the same page
- 52:19Speaker 11: with him as what you're seeing and try to catch up,
- 52:21Speaker 11: you know, as as much as I can to his level.
- 52:22Speaker 11: I'm not gonna get there, but try to just of
- 52:25Speaker 11: hind or understanding of hey, I think they're gonna do this,
- 52:27Speaker 11: or hey, so what I think they're going to be
- 52:28Speaker 11: in and then from there watching gold games, watching Cam Newton,
- 52:32Speaker 11: watching Tom in the Super Bowl is pretty cool.
- 52:34Speaker 7: What do you think learning front year?
- 52:36Speaker 14: You know Captain Hunter, Harry just seeing help lead this.
- 52:39Speaker 15: Team professional saying yeah. And I think Hunter just just
- 52:44Speaker 15: a positive energy he brings to the huddle.
- 52:45Speaker 11: I think, you know, with me balancing that with kind
- 52:48Speaker 11: of being serned in the huddle and knowing that, hey,
- 52:50Speaker 11: I gotta get these guys going, I think just bringing,
- 52:52Speaker 11: you know, the positive energy. And I think Hunter is
- 52:54Speaker 11: the things about Hunter, he was one of the best
- 52:57Speaker 11: friends on the team. He just shows up every day.
- 53:00Speaker 11: He loves he loves football. I guess that's kind of
- 53:02Speaker 11: what I'm learning from from Hunter. He doesn't do it
- 53:04Speaker 11: for anything else, for the love of the game. Where
- 53:06Speaker 11: he's running a clear out route or catching the seam
- 53:08Speaker 11: ball or blocking the run game, he does it out
- 53:10Speaker 11: of sure joor of wanting to win. I think we
- 53:13Speaker 11: both share that same mindset want to win.
- 53:17Speaker 10: Top.
- 53:18Speaker 7: You know, your teammates have voted on toward you.
- 53:21Speaker 3: To kind of leave.
- 53:22Speaker 15: I think he's a great honor. I think, you know,
- 53:24Speaker 15: I think it means something, you know, playing with the
- 53:26Speaker 15: C on her chest.
- 53:26Speaker 11: And I think you'll learned that from from Jacoby Jacoby
- 53:29Speaker 11: last year and some of those guys you know, David
- 53:32Speaker 11: Andrews in the past, and I think it's something that
- 53:35Speaker 11: you don't take lightly. And so, you know, great honor
- 53:37Speaker 11: from your teammates and a team vote, and I think
- 53:39Speaker 11: it's it's something that often I feel like the starting
- 53:42Speaker 11: quarterback can kind of we'll say next our gifted it.
- 53:46Speaker 11: But I think it's kind of one of those things
- 53:48Speaker 11: where I think you go out there and earn it
- 53:50Speaker 11: and prove to him I'm captain. And that's kind of
- 53:51Speaker 11: my mindset of proving to them of being a leader
- 53:54Speaker 11: on this team. And I think I'm not taking it
- 53:56Speaker 11: as a gift. That's learn about matarials. I wouldn't say yet.
- 54:02Speaker 11: I wouldn't say yet. I think, uh, you know, it
- 54:05Speaker 11: was it was tough watching that Monday night. They uh,
- 54:07Speaker 11: that first drive looked good. But you know, I think
- 54:09Speaker 11: I'm I'm I'm counting on those guys and and coaches
- 54:12Speaker 11: and I'll be tuned in all season.
- 54:14Speaker 16: So Drake, in the past than this offense, not just
- 54:18Speaker 16: Fectames but phill O'Bryan, the relationship between the quarterback and
- 54:22Speaker 16: the play collar and the offensive coordinator, there was a
- 54:24Speaker 16: lot of give and take as far as input on
- 54:27Speaker 16: what you guys wanted to do in that game plan.
- 54:29Speaker 16: Are you at that point yet or is it more
- 54:31Speaker 16: of a one way.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Stream with Gamage.
- 54:33Speaker 15: Yeah. I think that's something you build, you know, throughout
- 54:35Speaker 15: the season.
- 54:35Speaker 11: I think it's something that I think he valued in
- 54:37Speaker 11: my opinion, especially on the plays, and I think he
- 54:39Speaker 11: valued my opinion.
- 54:40Speaker 15: And hey, I'm you know, out of this formation, right
- 54:42Speaker 15: of this look. I like this stuff. And I think
- 54:44Speaker 15: it's something that kind of throughout the season. I think
- 54:47Speaker 15: you can kind of.
- 54:48Speaker 11: Say, hey, I think what about this play, Remember we
- 54:50Speaker 11: ran it back in this week.
- 54:51Speaker 15: I think it's something that you can kind of build
- 54:53Speaker 15: and uh, you know, build trust. I think the trust
- 54:54Speaker 15: is there.
- 54:55Speaker 11: I think it's just for me of just continue growing
- 54:58Speaker 11: and seeing, hey, let's do this against you this defense
- 55:00Speaker 11: and continue to find out, you know what things I
- 55:03Speaker 11: like and I think you know for right now, just
- 55:06Speaker 11: trusting whatever he's got in and let them know what
- 55:08Speaker 11: I like and and give an input here and there.
- 55:09Speaker 15: Hey I like this, I like that. So I talked
- 55:12Speaker 15: about gigs and calls IVC from.
- 55:17Speaker 4: And now great moments in.
- 55:21Speaker 3: History.
- 55:22Speaker 14: Most wine drinkers see no value in playing with the cork,
- 55:24Speaker 14: but it's a nice tradition.
- 55:25Speaker 7: It makes a good souvenir.
- 55:27Speaker 2: I've seen it done.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Oh, I've seen it that all the time. Because people
- 55:30Speaker 3: don't really know what they're doing with wine.
- 55:33Speaker 17: Uh, your idiocy knows no bounds.
- 55:37Speaker 3: So you just keep the cork to you no more
- 55:39Speaker 3: than wine spectator. Is that what you're saying.
- 55:42Speaker 17: I'm saying that at good restaurants, they give you the
- 55:45Speaker 17: course somelias. Yes, have told me you smell the cork
- 55:50Speaker 17: for an immediate test as to whether the wine has
- 55:54Speaker 17: gone bad or not.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I don't know. Yeah, it's ever said that to you,
- 55:57Speaker 3: or if they don't know, they walk away and laughed
- 56:00Speaker 3: at you. You know what I just told that guy?
- 56:04Speaker 17: Okay, the wine dude, Okay, you all know better than
- 56:08Speaker 17: you know.
- 56:08Speaker 3: What Cabernet seven. You know, I can tell the difference
- 56:11Speaker 3: of a good one in a bad one. That's about
- 56:13Speaker 3: as far as I go.
- 56:14Speaker 4: What's your test?
- 56:15Speaker 2: What's your barometer for whether it's good or not?
- 56:17Speaker 3: Just how it feels in my mouth.
- 56:19Speaker 1: That's another great moment, all right.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Welcome back to Patriots Unfiltered at eight five five past
- 56:28Speaker 3: five hundred. Is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Is the email address we're talking.
- 56:36Speaker 12: I like that.
- 56:36Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff. We're talking raiders coming up on Sunday.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Some of us are excited. Some of us have tempered
- 56:44Speaker 3: their excitement. But that's okay, that's all right.
- 56:48Speaker 4: What who's tempering their excitement? Just out of care?
- 56:51Speaker 3: Just people can decide from themselves, just from the just
- 56:53Speaker 3: one off.
- 56:54Speaker 4: That was a shot. Because I'm jack for the start
- 56:56Speaker 4: of the secay.
- 56:57Speaker 3: So Mike is off to the locker room. He'll be back.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Evan is out doing his thing. We're going to be
- 57:03Speaker 3: doing picks at one thirty. So that's great. Just so
- 57:08Speaker 3: people know, And let me see if I can find
- 57:11Speaker 3: his email trying to find Boston Creams. Well, you know what,
- 57:17Speaker 3: I don't need to go to his email. Boston Creams
- 57:19Speaker 3: on the line, so let's go right to him. What's up,
- 57:21Speaker 3: Boston cream.
- 57:23Speaker 18: Hey, guys, I'm gonna have to find Christian in la
- 57:26Speaker 18: one dollars in a first round draft pick for trying
- 57:29Speaker 18: to deflate deplayed us before the season started.
- 57:33Speaker 3: We should call him to flate Kate.
- 57:36Speaker 10: Yeah, exactly.
- 57:39Speaker 18: In terms for the fan pick him, we have about
- 57:41Speaker 18: ninety spots left. It's capped at five hundred, so only
- 57:46Speaker 18: the first five hundred fine folks can join.
- 57:50Speaker 10: Our link to join.
- 57:52Speaker 18: Is going to be TinyURL dot com slash Patriots unfiltered.
- 58:00Speaker 18: Signyurl dot com.
- 58:02Speaker 10: Slash Patriots on filtered.
- 58:04Speaker 18: There's a lot of very excited Patriots on filters fans
- 58:08Speaker 18: who are also now in a giant group chat, which
- 58:11Speaker 18: is a unique bonus that was unforeseen. So if you're
- 58:13Speaker 18: looking to join, you have to do such quick.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Okay, so there's only ninety slots out of five hundred left,
- 58:19Speaker 3: Now that's pretty good. We just announced that yesterday TinyURL
- 58:24Speaker 3: dot com slash Patriots unfiltered. That is it. So how
- 58:29Speaker 3: that will work? People will do their picks on that
- 58:32Speaker 3: app and then next week we'll go to the app
- 58:36Speaker 3: and say, Okay, you know, so and so did really well,
- 58:39Speaker 3: they had a better record than than us, or they're
- 58:42Speaker 3: right in the mix or whatever.
- 58:43Speaker 4: So that's well, there's gonna be five hundred people. I'm
- 58:45Speaker 4: gonna guess there's gonna be a lot of people that
- 58:47Speaker 4: have better records than us.
- 58:48Speaker 3: So I'm hoping that when you sign up, you sign
- 58:51Speaker 3: up in a way that we recognize who you are.
- 58:53Speaker 3: If you're a frequent email or a caller, you know.
- 58:57Speaker 18: That's a good point spread people should change if they
- 59:00Speaker 18: listen and call into the show, maybe their name and
- 59:02Speaker 18: where they're from, i e. Christian in LA. That way,
- 59:06Speaker 18: maybe it's a little more recognizable when you guys take
- 59:09Speaker 18: a look, I will say a lot of people have
- 59:11Speaker 18: done that.
- 59:12Speaker 6: Okay, great, all right now, Boston Cream, Should I put
- 59:17Speaker 6: the link you sent me and just said in the
- 59:19Speaker 6: newsletter or do you think it'll be too late by
- 59:21Speaker 6: that point tomorrow?
- 59:24Speaker 18: I think it's going to be too late. I think
- 59:27Speaker 18: if there's any interest to do a like a post
- 59:32Speaker 18: week one league and people want to feel included but
- 59:34Speaker 18: they don't want to be in the main one, we
- 59:35Speaker 18: can do that. But it's going to be I would
- 59:38Speaker 18: anticipate the league is going to be filled within the
- 59:40Speaker 18: next probably two hours.
- 59:43Speaker 3: Probably in two minutes after we've just announced the URL yeah, I.
- 59:48Speaker 7: Can believe that many people already signed up.
- 59:49Speaker 18: Thanks for letting me share, guys, and best of luck
- 59:51Speaker 18: to everyone in the league, and go Patriots.
- 59:54Speaker 3: Okay, there's T shirts on at stay here.
- 59:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:58Speaker 7: Should we do like a weekly T shirt?
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Why not? And then nothing else to do?
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: I feel like we do something big for the winner.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: The overall season win. Yeah, two T shirts, one that fits,
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: or like.
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: A custom T shirt like Patriots.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Champion or something about customizing.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:21Speaker 7: Or they come in and like get to watch the
- 1:00:24Speaker 7: show or something something like that.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: An experience. Comfortable experiences are big now. You know credit
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: cards that you get points in your earn experiences, sporting events,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: you know about that.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: I do know about it. But I like to be
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: behind the velvet ropes like Andy.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Yeah, well the experience would be meeting you behind the
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: velvet rope.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: That's what I'm looking to avoid.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Well, all right, Mike and Long Island. What's up, Mike,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Hey guys, great show. There you go. That's all right,
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: good good, yup.
- 1:01:02Speaker 18: I know you got to hurry, so all hang up.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: Okay, thanks thanks Mike, common comic comedic style, and I
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: love Mike and Long. I love England. That was very
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: well done.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Will In Cranston writes in at podcasts at Patriots dot Com,
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: I have no idea how as a Patriots fan, how
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: people are not super excited. There are so many reasons
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: this game should be awesome. Campbell versus Max Davis versus Bowers,
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Pop and Digs versus, a questionable secondary, a new regime
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: under Rabo, a playmaker group of running backs, and a perennial,
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: perennially underrated tight end in Hunter Henry In a growing
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: quarterback and rookie room who wants to prove it. I'm pumped.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Let's go Patriots. Let's take the East.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: I love it is that the proper amount of excitement.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely good.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: You guys are coming through Jackie ann Arbor. That email
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: in Cranston, I forget the first name.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: What was his name?
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Will and Kranston, Well, well that's good. Good job you
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: met Fred stamp of approval. Good job yep.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: Joseph is the biggest Patriots fan in Hillsboro, Oregon. Self proclaimed,
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: he says, from each of the panel, what is the
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: one realistic thing that we could see on Sunday that
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: you would give that would give you the most optimism
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: for how the rest of the season will go outside
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: of Drake May looking like a franchise quarterback. For me,
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: it would be Campbell and Wilson starting on the left
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: side and holding up well in pass protection. That's a
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: good one. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Mean that's tough without the answer, he's right by taking
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: away the obvious. Yeah, but that's the one thing that
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: would leave me to believe they could have a better season,
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: would be Drake May looking the part. Other than that,
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: how about Chrevon Henderson is as electric as we all
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: think he's going to be that we've seen in the preseason.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: All of a sudden he gets the ten to fifteen
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: touches that we're talking about, and he makes some plays,
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: big plays.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: I mean mine would be Diggs, you know, ten twelve
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: catches or whatever you know, or more.
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: I feel like mine is the listener or the emailers
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: example of the O line. I think if that's secure,
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: everything else kind of yep, can build off that.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of things that a lot of
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: people will be jumping to conclusions on both sides, good
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: or bad after this game, which you know, people should
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: probably caution because I remember this time last year after
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: the Cincinnati game.
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: It's not really showing the proper amount of enthusiasm.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Fred No, But like more so, I'm saying that in
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: case things aren't good.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: Right, that's good, that's good fun. Yeah now, but you're right, Yeah,
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: I keep talking about that. With regard to the draft classes.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: Draft class, everybody is gaga over because all these guys
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: are going to be playing right away. And I just
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: would caution that all the guys that played right away
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: last year, you told me how wonderful that was as
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: a sign, and by the end of the year you
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: looked at it a lot differently that that opener last
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: year against Cincinnati. It was certainly you know, unexpected.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they play.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: If you drew any conclusion, they're going to be able
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: to run the ball like that against anyone, that would
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: have been your takeaway from that game, that physicality travels,
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: that plays.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: Like no doesn't.
- 1:04:30Speaker 15: Right.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: So, like I said, a lot of conclusions will be
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: made after this game that will probably be wrong. Was
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: that both sides.
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: Was that the game where we had like a full
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: Baldi's breakdown about was it Ladon Robinson or was that
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: a different game.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: I don't know about Baldi's breakdown, but there's There were
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: a lot of people that were like, you can win
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: like that, you know, you can just line up and
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: be physically.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Baldy did do a breakdown. I don't know if it
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: was about Laydon Robinson, but I remember him doing something
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: I remember doing my I reposted it because I was like, yeah,
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I remember doing.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: My hit with with Mike and Tony the next week
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: and the whole thing. You know, they were skeptical that
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: they could continue to play like that and week in
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: and week out. Yeah, no, no, they were skeptical they
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: could play the way they played that way, keep that
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: level of play. And I saw if they play like
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: that every week, they're gonna lose more games than they win.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: That isn't sustainable to win. You can't just run the
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: ball and not make any plays in the passing game
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: and hope the other team fumbles going into the end
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: zone and expect to win every week. You know, you're
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: not gonna win sixteen to ten every week because the
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: other team poops itself. That was the unsustainable.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: The exact words where it's a tough way to live.
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: It's a tough way to live, exactly right.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: James, the most interesting Patriots fan of the World says,
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: I remember the days of the double by we mock
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: a fan base for being overly excited coming off two
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: four win seasons. Remember what we said about the Eagles
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: dream team all those years ago. I understand why you
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: do it, Fred, But that behaved is for NFL peasantry.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: We're Patriots fans, we are Swans in the water. We
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: know success.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: Oh come on, I'm with you, Fred, Come on, that's
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: your problem.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: We're starting.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: That's your problem.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: We're starting a new here.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: Correct.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: This is not we can't use the bar of Tom
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Brady anymore.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: Like we can't be looking down at other teams fan
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: bases for being enthusiastic and excited about the start of
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: a new season, right we like, you're not them anymore?
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: Ye like this whole peasantry thing. I yeah, did the
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: last five years not happen? Or how many years would it?
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: Will it be before someone says, okay, all right, we're
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: just like James.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: Over the last two years, we were peasants.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: And we're just like everybody else. You're going to go
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: into a new season hoping you're that you've improved, hoping
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: that Drake made is the guy that.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: To me is we may have we may have royalty
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: going through our are veins, but we need to get
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: back up there. We haven't earned it yet.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: Like you, you and Alex were talking about sort of
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: the excitement of the new season. Isn't that what being
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: a fan is all about. Every year offers new hope. Yep,
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: it doesn't matter that you went four and thirteen last year.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: We got to be excited about this is going to
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: be different. Mike Rabel's here now, Josh McDaniels is taking
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: care of Drake May, and they're going to be better.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: That's I don't know why you wouldn't look at it
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: like that as a fan, and why you would think
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: that that's embarrassing, like that makes you a peasant. I
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: don't get that. I believe he called the peasantry of well,
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: the teams that.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Think like he's very high brow, do you know what
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: I mean?
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: That's like the way that the way that you've.
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: Met James right, I have a meendim Bro correspondent, like.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: The like the Browns, right, the Browns right now, they're
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: probably not expected to do anything. You don't think, you know,
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: diehard Cleveland fans are like, well, you know, if you
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: know Flacco gets off to a good start, they might
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: be able to win some games. The defense has some
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: talent with Miles Garrett and right, why would when you
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: think like that as a fan?
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: Sure, because we're miserable here, some of us are. I'm
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: not personally, I'm not. You are not trying to be
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: very optimistic at all times.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: I try to be realistic. But I don't think there's
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: anything wrong with being optimistic. I just feel like that's
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: part of being a fan. Why it's fanatic?
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: Yeah, and take advantage of these moments because sometimes you
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: learn right there, week one, oh crop, this is going
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: to be a long and sometimes it's a fleeting woman
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: of hope and just enjoy it.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Listen. I always go back to three high hopes. You know,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: you came off not making the playoffs and O two
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: but you're a year away from being a super Bowl
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: champ and then molloy and you lose thirty one nothing
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: and it was like, oh crap. But things turned around,
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: you know. Bradley writes in I've heard you mentioned not
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: wanting to have Henderson go between the tackles as much
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: due to his potential wear and tear. Would you worry
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: about his eagerness to pick up blitzes, contributing to wear
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: and tear if left in to pass protect. Well, that's
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: his strength.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: Because you're delivering a hit as opposed to getting hit.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: You're the hammer, not the nail.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: Correct. Plus one of them is a necessity, the other
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: one is not a necessity. You don't have to subject
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: yourself to more hits than you want to as a
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: blitz protector. That's part of the job that you have
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: to do. Otherwise the quarterback is going to take that hit.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: Yep. And we were told, you know, that's what's kept
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: rookie running bats on the bench is because they weren't
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: quick to pick that up. This guy, from everything we've
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: seen comes into the league.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: And there is a difference. I know, like me and
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Fred are doing the Andy Hart iron Sharpen's iron hammer
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: and the nail, but there is a difference between hitting
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: someone and getting hit. Oh yeah, in terms of the physicality.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: Darius says, I want to start off and say that
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: you're all the best, thank you, And I also want
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: to give a big thank you to Boston Cream for
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: setting the app so we could all play along. That
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: was awesome of him. Secondly, I wanted to say how
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: proud I am of Digs for standing up for himself.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: I understand that you guys are medias also, but sometimes
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: the media needs to get checked. Lastly, my score prediction
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: Patriots thirty eight, Vegas twenty four.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: Wow, what did I mean? What is the media checked party?
- 1:10:24Speaker 7: Well?
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Did you heard Diggs yesterday?
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, that wasn't the media checked part?
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: He kind of checked Phil and Tom. What do you
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: mean he called him.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: Out by name.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: I think it was about something else, but that's okay.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: He said Phil and Tom, But it was about Bob
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: and Steve.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no, no, no Phil. My point
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: is Phil and Tom didn't do anything wrong. They were
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: making their thing off or something. Dig said, No, yeah,
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: it was about Phil saying he was a pain in
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: the ass. Yeah, based on as actually said Posterioasteria. Yeah,
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: but it was based off for something Diggs had said
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: that he didn't necessarily mean literally, right, but so it
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: was something Diggs said.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: No, no, yes, he didn't say I'm a pain in
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: the posteria.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: It's a different thing. We don't have to get okay,
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: all right, but I think he was checking them. I
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: don't think he was Okay.
- 1:11:17Speaker 7: I just feel like everyone involved made it a way
- 1:11:19Speaker 7: bigger deal than it.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: It was a complete and total nothing burger. Again, you
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: know how I know when it's a nothing burger. When
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: two guys that make something out of everything, Mike and
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Tony said this is a complete nothing burger. I don't
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: know what we're even talking about. Well, the most unnecessary
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: thing I've ever seen in my life that I agree with.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: I think it was odd. I thought it was odd.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: I don't think he needed it was completely bizarre. Yeah,
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: but and he was kind of made more out of
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: it than had already existed. Well, I think it was
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: completely unnecessary.
- 1:11:51Speaker 7: I wonder if Raebel didn't.
- 1:11:53Speaker 6: I don't know if he got like impatient with Phil's
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: question that day when Phil was kind of trying to
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: get clarification on Diggs talking to Russini. When Diggs was
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: it seemed like he was just joking around with Rusini,
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: and then he.
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: Goes to Rebel. I feel like Rabel's like, why are
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: you wasting my time with this?
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Come on?
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: And then maybe people felt some type of way after
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: that encounter, and then it lands on Diggs being a
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: jerky somehow, And I don't under.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Oh, I don't think it landed on Diggs being a jerk,
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: but I think you've nailed the whole situation. I think
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: it was an unnecessary like why are you phoning around
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: on this interview? Now they're asking me these questions. Now
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: I have to answer this, Phil, what's wrong with you?
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: You should know better? He was joking around, like it
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: just turned into something in Minnesota that didn't need to happen,
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: and for whatever reason, three weeks later, Dig decided to
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: I don't know, do whatever that was yesterday. Twitter ran
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: with it, unfortunately, But when was the last time you
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: saw anything about it since they got back from Minnesota.
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: I feel like.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: Being trolled that they're like whiny or something, or free
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: will shove them in a locker.
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: Oh, I don't know narratives that could be.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I just didn't. I didn't really understand that that
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: was a waste of time. Yeah, yes, to be honest
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: with you, and you know it's funny.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: I was.
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: I was with Mike and Tony when that happened. I
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: was doing my sunshine and I said, to be honest
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: with you, like Diggs is saying, I didn't mean to
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: come off as an a hole. Or whatever, and I
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: was like, to the contrary, we haven't talked to him
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: a lot. That part was true. He hasn't spoken to
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: the media a lot, but when he has he's been excellent. Yeah,
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: Like Alex, you know, gave you some insight as to
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: what he's been like, sort of behind the scenes, away
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: from microphones. We haven't talked to him a lot, but
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: when he has talked to us, he's been really.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Even after the boat incident and he was interviewed in
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: the fieldhouse, I believe they had practiced the door that day.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: He was fine.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: He was fine. Like I haven't had any inkling whatsoever
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: of what he was talking about yesterday.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Yes, I excited about him. I don't know why you're not.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just excited, just excited, Fred, just excited.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: I just want to be excited. I want to be
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: like Mike do So and just be excited all the time.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: It's great. I don't have to go twelve and four anymore.
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: It's just exciting.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: Defense is back in New England.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: I didn't get the whole thing yesterday, to be honest
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: with you, but I agree with Alex. It was a
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: total nothing.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Yeah, speed Fresno absolutely loved the New Jill song and
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: all of her musical contributions. But just want to give
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: a nostalgic shout out to mister lyfft on Tuesday PFW
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: shows after win. I always used to get totally jacked
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: up when the record scratch at the beginning kicked in.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: That was a good opening song, mister lyff Anyway, here's
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: a little quick game of free association. I'll give you
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: a very brief cue, a single word or phrase, and
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: you blurt out the first NFL coach that comes to mind.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Current or former coaches are eligible. I've listed answers that
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: popped into my mind, which Frek can reveal after you guess.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: This should go fast because I know you got to hurry. Okay,
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: so free association. I'm going to say a word. Tell
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: me the first coach current or in the past that
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: comes to mind. Ready, tripping Tom correct, like Tomins tried
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: to trip somebody on the sideline once clapping Jason Garrett, Yes,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: could be McDermott too, scowling scowling Bill Bill, Bill Wilford, Brimley,
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Andy Reid, Ye Fedora mm hmm. Could be two people.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: Like Tom Landry. Okay, past Okay, I was thinking, but
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: I remember I remember the qualified.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Okay advisor McDaniels. That's a good one. But I think
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: he only wants head coaches, so that's a good one.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: It doesn't have his things aren't. The correct answer is
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: just whatever works, so there's no right or wrong.
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: McDaniels works because he was a past Absolutely.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Uh sunglasses, this is a good one. Absolutely, he used
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: to wear sunglasses.
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: Else with sunglasses? Who Tony Sperano, Oh, yeah, that's a
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: good one. He had the eye thing, yeah, good, good, good.
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: He has some kind of eye conditioning.
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, he was like even at night he'd wear them. Uh,
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: thick rim glasses this one. I have no idea.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: That Mike McDaniel.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: No, it doesn't coach anything.
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: ODIs glasses.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: Yeahs. I'll give you another one, just like or something.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: I'll give you another one, same person that I'm that
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: he was thinking of. And then uh punching.
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: Oh what he hayes No no no, no, no, no
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: no no what he hates had thick rimmed glass but NFL,
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: he actually did. Buddy Buddy Ryan, Buddy Ryan had.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Remember he punched his offensive coordinator.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: I suppose he did have thick rimmed glass, Kevin Gilbride. Yeah,
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: he was the defensive coordinator at the time.
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: This is easy feet Rex, Brian, you got right, good
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: pencil pencil.
- 1:17:33Speaker 7: I think of Patricia, but yes, yes, you got it.
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: That's a good one. Not again, it's not right or wrong,
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: but yeah, that's who he thought of as well. Where
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: are you going? Okay, so we'll finish the game. Gum gum. Yeah,
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: I've thought about someone watching an NFL game just chomping
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: the hell out of a piece of gum and I
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: can't picture.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: Well, there's one that we're gonna see.
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: Carrol.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: Yeah, he's always mustache, I think, yes, and he had
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: as well as as well as Bill Cower tight pants,
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: any of Evans. He's got McDaniel, but it could Sean McVay. Yeah,
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: I think of Sean McVay. He was the original tight
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: pants guy, right and then red face.
- 1:18:41Speaker 7: Red face. There could be a couple there too.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got Tom clapp Coughlin, which is a good one.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: I would have had McDermott and he said, Fred will
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: say McDermott, you know, red ass you call him. So
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: that's that's a good game.
- 1:18:57Speaker 7: Take me out of this.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Thanks, b someone has returned.
- 1:19:00Speaker 7: Look who's back from the locker room?
- 1:19:03Speaker 10: What was the mood where the player's friendly to that?
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: None of them look like Devin Henry.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: Hey Mike, what was it like in the locker room?
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: Heyke?
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: What was it like in the locker room? Hey Mike?
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: What was it like? It's pretty uh exciting, I would say,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: I think exciting. Yeah, I think the guys are anticipation's
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: building for the home opener this weekend for sure. Uh,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: you know, talk to a couple of Trevon Hendersons. You know,
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: his first chance of course, uh getting out there. So
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: he seemed he actually he seemed kind of like steady Eddie.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: He didn't really seem like, oh, I'm so you know,
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: he's kind of a quiet guy though anyway. But you know,
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: morgan O's this good advice for the young guys and
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: what to expect, and you know, I think the message
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: from the veterans is just go out there and play football.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: You know, don't overthink it. You guys are all brought
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: in here for a reason, so you know, just go
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: out there and and and let it rip. So uh,
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: Pop Douglas the same thing, you know, just talking a
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: little bit of out his opening game experiences and everybody
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: hoping that the fans are going to bring the energy
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: and that they have a little bit of a home
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: field advantage. So I think it's in a game like this,
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: which a lot of the Patriots games are this year,
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: feels kind of like a coin flip, you hope that
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: you know, the energy is really good here and that
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: that home field advantage comes back. Hasn't really been a
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: home field Yeah, And I.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Hope you know, fans, if you're listening, those of you
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: are going to be in attendance, bring the noise, bring it,
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: let's go, let's let's let's get to Let's stadium. Back
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: to being a home field advantage, yeah, because I don't
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: think it has been for a long time.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: No, No, And it's I think they go hand in hand,
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: you know, good team and get it.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: I get. I'm not blaming the fans. I'm just like,
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: let's let's start off on the right foot this this week.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: Then you know, we can start to build some momentum
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: and you know, start to build some buzz and hey
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: there's something going on here in this you know, win
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: or lose. I think this team is going to play
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: really hard and be a fun product to watch. And
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: I just hope offensively that they're able to move the ball,
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: put some points up and make all these games interesting.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: So getting back to the locker room, a lot of media,
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: lot of me, lot of media people.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: No national people, but I would say there was more
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: than than yesterday. Yesterday was a little bit quieter, which
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: is strange, but of course we had you know, Josh
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: McDaniels went earlier, Jeremy Springer went earlier to Roll Williams
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: is going this afternoon. The rest of the offensive coaches
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: are going this afternoon. So it's a very busy day
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: right now for these guys, and I know Thursday is
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: a big day for their prep. I was watching a
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: couple of the guys go out with you know, they
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: used to wear like pennies when they're pretending to be
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: the other team, but now they're just wearing like kind
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: of regular Patriots jersey. So guys in different numbers. You know,
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: Jeremiah Webb was in sixteen, so I guess he's, you know,
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: playing the part of Jacobe Kobe Myers this week. So
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: that's you know, how Rabel likes to do it.
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: I guess every little nuances.
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: Did you run into Evan?
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: I did run into Evan. I talked to Evian a
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: little bit in the locker room.
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: You interview I didn't interview him.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: I just I just, you know, had a little brief
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: chat with him as we were. You know, he does
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: this thing, he's going around talking.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: I was to say, like, did you catch Evan in
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: a corner in a little conversation.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: I saw one with Jalen Hawkins and and then it
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: was funny yesterday as I mean, you know, Evan went
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: up to he went up to Josh Dobbs yesterday and
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: he was like, can I ask you a potentially stupid
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: football question? And Josh Dobbs was very gracious, and I
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: didn't hear what they were saying, but they had a
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: good conversation. And Josh Dobbs like, no, it's a good question.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: I want to talk up to Josh Dobbs. I want
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: to see if he wants to do.
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: Evan did that. He went up to Josh Dobbs and
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: just said Evyane was being disingenuous. There's no way that
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: he really thought dumb, because there's no way he would
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: subject himself to.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: Not being a ball noer no, I think this might
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: have been an area that Evan actually like wasn't was
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: genuinely wasn't sure about something. I do that stuff.
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: That's exactly how I do it.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: It's like how I wait into right, I'm surprised I'm
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: not getting a call, Hey, why is Evan asking Josh?
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: Well, I think he you know what he's giving. Evan
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: does dive into the film, and I think he, you know,
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: generally has questions that that only those guys can really answer.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: So Josh jobs was great. I mean, it seemed like
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: he gave him a lot. And that's nothing I really
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: enjoyed from some of the behind the scenes Forged stuff.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: Was just, you know, Josh Dobbs listening to him kind
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: of talk to these guys, and you know, you just
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: get a sense of who these guys are as people
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: and as teammates and what kind of leadership they bring.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: And every time I hear Josh Dobbs talk, I see, Yeah,
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: I get why this guy is. You know, we're just
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: really respecting he's got, i mean, obviously really interesting career
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: with what he's done, going into programs and starting games
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: on no.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: No, you know, no, no, I want to do a
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: podcast with Josh Dobbs past him. Just that'd be fun
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: two of us and we'll talk about science fiction, we'll
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: talk about all kinds of different things.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: You know, that's exciting.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: I would like to do that. I'm going to propose
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: that Tom, Josh Dobbs.
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: Well, what's going on?
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: Pull you all right? So I haven't seen.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: I thought you had to go to the bar.
- 1:23:44Speaker 7: Did you just fake a call to get a new PEPSI?
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: Well, I was out there. While I'm out here, I
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: was out there, so I decided to go around the
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: corner and get one from that other refrigerator. And I
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: also had a quick little moment with the head coach.
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: Braves happened to be coming by.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: Hey Paul, just a high quiet Hey, pay how.
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: You doing, Mike? Good lucks on? I didn't say good blocks.
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: So I've been boring Mike with this. I won't go
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: twenty minutes. Don't worry about he he has that look
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: on his face. This is this is like damping, damping
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: the enthusiasm, Paul. I don't know where you're going with this,
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: but anyway, so my brother in law, his son, my nephew,
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: and we all live very very close together, like within
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: an eighth of a mile right slam. So yeah, so
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: they've decided everybody's got some cleaning to do. You know
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: those Hall truck you know those junk trucks out Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: the one eight hundred. Very very it's very expensive. Yeah,
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: it can be very expensive. Right, So we hired one
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: and we're gonna do it. I asked him to do
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: it all together. Oh so we got a little bit
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: of a many hands make light work correct, Yeah, and
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: they agreed to do all three and we got a
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: pretty good rate to do it. The problem was when
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: we've decided to do this, and that was a couple
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: of weeks ago, and all of a sudden, like on
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: Tuesday night, I was told, yeah, they're coming at one
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: thirty on Thursday. Like, I'm not ready, You're not ready.
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: So I got home last night, it's dark out, and
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: I'm like, I had to get everything out from under
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: the deck, and I sent Mike a picture of it.
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: I'll see if I can get that on the camera.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we should get that.
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: Mike is just dying laughing at some of the crowd.
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: I have, like you know, like the wedding cake stairs
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: that go in a pool like the plastic stairs like
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: when I first got the pool, like twenty five years ago.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: The guy's like, yeah, I'm throwing a set of those sticks.
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: So the guy just like brings over this set of
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: stairs and just dumps him in my backyard. No instruction.
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: I have no idea how to like install them.
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: Put to the top.
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: He's like, oh you put like like say it like
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: like I'm not drilling anything into my new pool right,
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: like in creating a leak, Like I don't know how that.
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: So they've never been in the pool. They've been under
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: my deck for twenty five years.
- 1:25:59Speaker 8: It looks like it.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: I could just see the Perillo clan. They all get
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: their stuff together and each one is like, you're throwing
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: that out, I'll take that before you know. If there's
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: nothing left, everything's been claimed by somebody else.
- 1:26:11Speaker 7: Right, So how did you get into your pool for
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: twenty years?
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: I have a ladder. There's a regular ladder. But these
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: stairs would have been much better for say, like my
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: mother in law who used to watch the kids all
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: the time, and would have been much easier for her
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: to get in and out of the pool. See, he
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: always has to go snark, all right, you're the Queen
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: of Snark. I'm the king of Snark, you're the queen.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I'll owan that Moniker. Okay.
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: So anyway, Yeah, my brother in law was kind enough
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: to go over and just sort of make sure that
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: everything that we needed to get taken out. There were
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: three pieces of the sectional still in the house because Beth,
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: who was the only one around to help me get this,
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: the section was in like seven pieces that we were
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: thrown away. Yeah, sec we put like four of them
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: out in the driveway. The other ones, the ones that
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: had like the recliner ones, they're really heavy with like
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: the big metal braces in the back end. I couldn't
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: couldn't do it by myself. And Beth is like, yeah,
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: I'm out.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: You don't have a Dolly in the basement.
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: What were you saying about the Boston accent? That was
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: a little Boston accent dolly, right though.
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: That's almost even more New Jersey, the emphasis on the own,
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: not the O.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: Could be.
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: My brother and law just wanted to make sure that
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: everything that I wanted to get thrown out with all right.
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: Just the wedding cake stairs, Oh my god, they're textured.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: You've just been staring at those cursing them for twenty years.
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: Put the mold on it.
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: I think we're going to effort to get that photo up.
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: It's a mess.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: The fans are clamoring for it, all right.
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: So so you would say, is an enthusiastic locker room.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: Was Drake in there?
- 1:27:54Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: I saw Drake walking through, so you know, and and
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: I gotta say this again, just to piggyback off what
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: Alex said. We were all gathered around Pop Douglas and
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: as is often the case, there's so many people that
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: it spills over into the lockers next to him, and
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Stefan Diggs was not at his locker when we all
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: got there, and he kind of like walked in and
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: Karen Greagan like kind of got out of the way.
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: We're gonna kind of moved and he was just like,
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: it's all good, it's all good. I got to like
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: it was, you know, just very smiley, gracious and you know,
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: putting on a good face for for all that.
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: So after yesterday, God, I hope these kids winning just one.
- 1:28:27Speaker 4: That's like two weeks in a row.
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: So it was it was good.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, all right, So I think we need to
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: get into the picks because I think we're gonna need
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: a little extra time here too.
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: Do you need extra time?
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: All right? So it is that time of the week.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: We're not going to talk about last year.
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: I was now to be good. Yes we are, Oh
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: we are all right.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Well, Paul kick it off.
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: I'm just going to give you the final results from
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: last season because I like to give everybody their props.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: Evan eighty one, followed by Alex at one ninety and
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: eighty two. Paul was third at one eighty four and
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: eighty eight, and then Mike and Fred were tied at
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: one eighty three and eighty nine. That was the overall
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: with the spread. Evan also won that. See again, I
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: like to give the props to the ball knower. Yeah,
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: one fifty six, one ten and six, followed by Paul
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: at one fifty four, one twelve and six. Fred, you
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: were third in the spread because that really separates, Yeah,
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: it does, one fifty one, sixteen and six. Mike was
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: one forty nine, one seventeen and six, and Alex was
- 1:29:33Speaker 4: one forty one, one twenty five and six.
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: And not to you know, pat ourselves too much on
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: the back, but those are good numbers. If you're anything
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: over fifty percent against the spread, that's good. I mean
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: Evan was forty six over the over five hundred, that's correct.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: That's that's amazing.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: He's a sharp Yeah.
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: So all right, let's get it.
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: Alex was sixteen over five hundred and she was all
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: fifth place fast, right, I know, I like to say
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: fifth place. I think last.
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: That's really good. All right, So here we go, And
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: just a reminder, if you want to do your own picks,
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: you can do that at TinyURL dot com slash Patriots
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: Unfiltered thanks to Boston Cream. He set that up and
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: put your picks in. And then next week we'll we'll
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: talk about, you know, of our listeners who did really well.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Maybe a T shirt for the Yeah.
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: All right, So tonight left eight twenty on NBC, Telemundo Universo.
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: It's the cow And by the way, everyone's record is
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: O and oh so I won't be doing records, right.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: The Cowboys are at the Eagles, one of Paul's division games.
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: Philly by eight and a half, eight point five.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so. As I was pondering this game, just
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: wondering what is Dallas's frame of mind after trading Michael Parsons,
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: How does that play out with them? I know Paul
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: talking about this being a division game, hard to pick
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: against Philadelphia. They're just so talented. They have brought most
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: everybody back. So I'm going to go with Philadelphia. But
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: I think on the first night of the season in
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: a divisional game, I think it might be a little
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: bit closer, even if the Cowboys are reeling a little bit,
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: So I will take Dallas plus eight point five.
- 1:31:14Speaker 7: At those points, I'm gonna go Philly, Philly. It's been
- 1:31:20Speaker 7: a top six months for Dallas sports fans.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: It is yep, right they traded Luca.
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I am going to agree with Alex. I think
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: it's been a mess for the Cowboys maybe. I mean,
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: I know I'm reading all from the Dallas industrial Complex
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: that evidently Micah Parsons kills children in his spare time
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: since since the trade last right, the smear campaign is
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: red Sox esque, I would say, But I got to
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: think that that trade wasn't the best thing for everybody
- 1:31:53Speaker 4: with the Cowboys, And now I'll take Philly both ways.
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: A lot of times that I think Mike is right
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: that that opening night thing coming off a super Bowl
- 1:32:02Speaker 4: doesn't always go the way you think it's gonna go.
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: But I have a feeling that they, you know, and win.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: One of the things that like kind of got lost
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: in all the Micah Parsons and all that stuff is
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: their head coach is Brian Shottennheim. It's like, because Jerry
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: Jones doesn't want to go out and get like a
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: a coach that will talk back, right. So I was
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: gonna say the lock was taking the points, but I
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: gotta go Eagles both ways. I just think that when
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: you add in everything, I just think this is a
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: lost season for the Cowboys. Friday night, uh eight o'clock
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: on YouTube. I'm not exactly sure how that's gonna work.
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: You just type YouTube into the line into your smart
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: TV browser. I don't want to watch on my phone.
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: I don't want to watch on my phone. I want
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: to watch it on my big screen TV. Am I
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: gonna be able to do.
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: That without a subscribe?
- 1:33:00Speaker 7: Do you have the app on your smart TV? I
- 1:33:03Speaker 7: don't know the YouTube.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: I might Okay, I have a smart TV, so I
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: assume that YouTube's probably aren't.
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: Just he's gonna call you tomorrow, operator, I'll be ready
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: to go I'll be ready to walk you through it.
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: Trying to watch the game, I will say, with no
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: snark involved at all. I am borderline stunned that I'm
- 1:33:24Speaker 4: not the one asking that question.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: No, I don't watch YouTube TV. I don't.
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: I don't either, but I know you can.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: I know, but I've never had to, so I don't know.
- 1:33:32Speaker 7: I just watch YouTube for free. But they do have
- 1:33:34Speaker 7: like a TV subscription.
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: You can use YouTube and replace Comcast with it. YouTube
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: has its own network.
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: My question is can I watch this game without being
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: a YouTube subscriber?
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: Yes, yes, it's free.
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: It is free.
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: It is free, absolutely, I know that for sure.
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: So now, but I was a little surprised that you
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: wouldn't be a little bit more up on watching.
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: I haven't even looked into it yet.
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: So it's the chiefs at the Chargers casey by three three.
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I flirted.
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: I know people are Probablylane would be happy now when I.
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: Flirted with not picking the chiefs.
- 1:34:15Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: I know people a little bit of chefs fatigue settling in.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: I get it. But I just I think they are
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: going to bounce back this year. I can't. I can't
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: pick the Chargers. I'm not sure. I think Kansas City's
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: beating them through or four straight times. So I'm gonna
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: go with Kansas City, even on the road, and I'm
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: gonna lay the points.
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: I think Kansas City will win.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: I'm sorry, it's in Brazil.
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: It's in Brazil.
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: What's three.
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: Surprising?
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: That's weird?
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: Yeah, they know something something's up? Is something up?
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: How many do you think they should be favored by
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: over the Chargers?
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: Seven? Really? Yeah?
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: Six playoff teams are playing? You think it should be
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: a touch seven?
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: Oh wow, you just made the you made the middle
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: school is really happy with that one.
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: What the middle schoolers?
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: Six seventh?
- 1:35:02Speaker 7: That's a thing.
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: It can't stop saying six seven. I don't ask, don't ask.
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: Don't stumble into an it's not even think you did.
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: And you know it's not even fields have no idea.
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 1:35:13Speaker 15: You and I?
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: Six seven and laughing all over the place. You don't
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: really know why. I'm just telling you, Wow, Okay, somebody
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: will write in about it.
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: I'm sure, all right, somebody tell me what six seven means.
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: We'll explain it to us off there.
- 1:35:25Speaker 7: I don't even know.
- 1:35:26Speaker 5: It's like unexplainable, too young for me.
- 1:35:31Speaker 6: There's a lot of travel for both teams. I think
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: Kansas City will win the game.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: He's flirting with the hook.
- 1:35:39Speaker 7: Justin has a new girlfriend.
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: That's the hook.
- 1:35:43Speaker 7: I think they might cover.
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: Wait, who is it? Somebody famous?
- 1:35:47Speaker 7: Madison beer Beer. I don't know. She's really really hot.
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: You said it, it's like a it's like a I
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: don't think I heard that.
- 1:35:55Speaker 7: Name of situation. Too young, way too young, Oh, Josh.
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: I would fade any their quarterbacks dating an actress.
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: But you're taking Kansas City or taking the point.
- 1:36:04Speaker 7: I'm taking Kansas City, and I'm giving the Chargers the points.
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: Okay, I am going to take Kansas City both ways also.
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: But the Chargers are pretty good. I'm a little, I guess,
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: waiting to see how they respond to a tough, tough summer,
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: you know, losing the best linemen, and how they're going
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: to respond to that. Najie Harris's you know, situation kind
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: of odd. Don't know if he's going to be able
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: to play even I think the Chargers are pretty good.
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: I think there'll be a playoff team. But I think
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: that the demise or as Quint would say, the demise
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: of the Chiefs, I think has been greatly exaggerated. Again,
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: a lot of people picking Denver to win the AFC West.
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: I don't see it. I'll take the Chiefs.
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: This is an insider game.
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: Insider, Yeah, this is.
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: An insider game. Something's up with this spread. I'm telling
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: you all. I'm going with Charges both way. Jim Harbaugh
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: has him ready to go on week one chat.
- 1:37:04Speaker 4: I couldn't absolutely see the Chargers winning. I just don't
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: really get your spread. Thing, Like the Chiefs never cover,
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: like that's their thing is Like everybody should have beaten
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: the Chiefs every game, but they find a way to win.
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: They never cover. Like where you're gonna lay like ten points? Okay,
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: no one would take Kansas City.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: I don't know what that means.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: But okay, like the spread like a divisional game and
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: a neutral site, a field goal, I don't know what
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: you're expecting to be favored by. That's what I don't get. Okay,
- 1:37:33Speaker 4: So I'm taking the Charges seven both ways.
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: It's supposed to be six or seven six seven?
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: He did it again that when he did on purpose,
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: I don't even.
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: Know what I'm doing.
- 1:37:45Speaker 7: Appealing to the younger democratics.
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: Good Sunday at one on Fox, Oh wait, we have
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: to skip over that one.
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: We do go ahead?
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: No mine, Okay, Sunday at one at Fox the Buccaneers
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: are at the Falcons.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: Uh, just nothing other division game?
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: Great love it?
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: Uh, Tampa by one and a half.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: Yeah, this is one of those really tough games for me.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: I always feel like to the Falcons are I agree
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: with Fred hard really stockpiling. I feel like some really
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: good pieces on both sides of the ball. You know,
- 1:38:17Speaker 2: dropped a couple edge guys this year in the draft
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: as well, Like I just am wondering, is it all
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: gonna come together with you know, Drake London and Michael
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: Pennix and Jon Robinson or you know, Tampa still got
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: great weapons too, and a mega Buca has really had
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: a good camp to You're gonna let baker Bag. Let
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: baker Bag with him in it, you know, absolutely, I'm
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: gonna get a little crazy. I'm gonna go with Atlanta
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: at home and a little bit of a little bit
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: of a changing not changing the guard, but I think
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: Atlanta's gonna put some pressure on Tampa. I'll take the
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: Falcons and uh, I'll take those one point five points. Please.
- 1:38:54Speaker 7: The home dogs are tempting, but I'm gonna.
- 1:38:57Speaker 4: Go Tampa Tampa. So I agree with Mike that I
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: think the Falcons are a team if Michael Pennix plays well.
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: Obviously they have a lot of talent and they could
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: be heard from. I think Tampa is better. I'm a
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: little concerned about their injuries to start the season, but
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: I'm going to take Tampa to get off to a
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: better start on the road, I'll take Tampa.
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Falcons to win the game. Sunday
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: at one on Fox, the Bengals are at the.
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: Browns Cincinnati by five and a half.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: Will they come out ready to play?
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna say they do this year. Fred, I'm gonna
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: I know that they've had rough starts in the past,
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: but they got Trey Hendrickson in order and hopefully that
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: has positive vibes for them going into Week one. Just
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: really hard to no disrespect to Joe Flacco, but to
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: pick Cleveland even with their really good defense.
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: Love Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase t Higgins.
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: Well, Joe too much fit be. Before the game, what
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: was the spread?
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: Five?
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: Five, five and a half.
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll lay the five to five.
- 1:40:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I think Cincinnati gets over that. Early season struggle
- 1:40:10Speaker 6: bus that.
- 1:40:11Speaker 7: They've been on. I think I'm gonna take them both ways.
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I am going to say that they're ready to
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: play with the changes that they made in the summer.
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: I'll take I'll take the Bengals, but I'm not laying
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: five and a half with that defense. I'll take the points.
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: So Cincinnati to win, Cleveland to cover.
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Cincinnati both ways, so Joe Cool gets
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: it done. CBS at one. The Dolphins are at the Colts.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: Indye by one, and a Hey, I just I don't
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: know what to except for Miami.
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: I see all these you know, rumblings with drama with
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill and you know, is Mike McDaniel losing the
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: locker room and all that stuff, and I just, I mean,
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: they've been so good against the Patriots, and they seem
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: to beat the to bad teams, and they lose to
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: the good teams. I'm gonna go for a little bit
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: out on the limb though here. And I know in
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Indianapolis is favorite, but I'm going to take Indianapolis. I'm
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: going to buy into a little bit of the Miami
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: hype and say they dropped this one in Week one.
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: I'll lay the one and a half.
- 1:41:16Speaker 7: Indie Indy.
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: Yeah, this is probably the game I have the least
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: amount of clue about. I could see Daniel Jones playing
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: reasonably well for his new team and in the Colts
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: at home winning. I just think Miami is better, and
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: I know everybody thinks Miami is gonna win three games
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: this year. That seems to be the consensus. Much like
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: Kansas City, I think their demise is overrated. I don't
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: think Miami is necessarily a playoff team, but I see
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: them doing exactly what Mike said and continuing to beat
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: the bad teams and losing to good teams. And they're
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: always better early in the season than late because McDaniel
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: usually has some things offensively. I'll take Miami to win.
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyone who outside of South Florida or India Annapolis
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: who thinks they have a beat on this game is
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: just lying. But I'm going to take the Colts because
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: I want them to win.
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: So which brings up an interesting thing, Freddy. Yeah, you know,
- 1:42:10Speaker 4: we haven't made all the picks yet, but Patriots Great
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: chanced to enter Week two in first place by themselves.
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: There you go.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: Miami loses to Indy Jets lose to Pittsburgh. Buffalo loses
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: to Baltimore. Ye boom roasted boom. That's how it happens.
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: I left out the Patriots part.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: But Sunday at one on Fox, the Panthers are at
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: the Jaguars.
- 1:42:32Speaker 4: The Panthers Jacksonville by three and a.
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: Hey, it's another really tough one where Carolina maybe found
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: a little magic at the end of last year. No
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: feeling's gone. Now that they see that a little bit
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: as a blow. It opens the door for one of
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: my Holy Cross guys. They're Jalen Coker might get more
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: opportunity this year. But I'm gonna say this is Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: I don't want to see a back bounce back here.
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna say they're gonna win. Jacksonville's gonna win this
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: one this week. I'll lay the points as well. I
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: just I love what they've got around him, and if
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: he can put it together, and you play under the
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: new Duvall coach, maybe they'll put it together. Scurse some points.
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: I'll think people been talking about Travis Hunter, like how's
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: he doing well?
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: He got hurt, so he missed I know, like the
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: last preseason or the last two preseason games something like that.
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: But yeah, he's been he's been active, and I think
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: they planted on playing them both ways. Jaggs Jags, Jags,
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: Jaggs for Alex. Uh, I am going to take Jacksonville
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: to win the game. I'll take the hook the hook
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: three and a half. I'll take Carolina to lose by
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: a field goal.
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: Uh. This is going to be a bounced back season
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: for Okay.
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree. I think Jacksonville's Yeah, and
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: I'm gonna take then a lot of good things about
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: Liam Cohen. I don't know if any of them are warranted,
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: but I'm hearing a lot of good things.
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:43:56Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: Sunday at one on CBS, the Cardinals are at the Saints.
- 1:44:03Speaker 4: Arizona by six and a.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: Hay, that's a that's a big Week one spread on
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: the road. Yeah, it's gonna be helps you up the
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: respect that the Saints aren't getting.
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they don't mean they didn't.
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: They don't have there, they don't have.
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: A lot of people think New Orleans is the worst
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: team in football. I would be one of those, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:44:21Speaker 4: I would.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: I would feel say, Hunter rat what's his spencer Ler Rattler,
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: I'll take Arizona. I'll drop all six and a half
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: of those points.
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: All six and a half of them, the same thing. Yeah,
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: I agree with Fred. It is a pretty big uh oh,
- 1:44:37Speaker 4: you already did yours. Okay, pretty big spread on the
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: road in week one, but I'm going to take Arizona.
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: I am going to take Arizona as well both ways.
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: Sunday at one CBS Steelers.
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: At Jets, Pittsburgh by three.
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: Battle of the Quarterbacks.
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: Yeah, this is another one of those games where I
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: just so hard to pick, but I think I'm going
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: to this for Week one. I'm going to go with
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: the only known quantity I feel like is Mike Tomlin
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: within this matchup and that defense. So I'm gonna take
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: Pittsburgh and I'll lay the points, give the Jets a
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: week one loss.
- 1:45:13Speaker 7: Yeah, I'll probably ride with Pittsburgh two until they give
- 1:45:16Speaker 7: me a reason not to.
- 1:45:19Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm kind of in between on Pittsburgh. You know,
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: people seem to be all in or all out on
- 1:45:24Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers. I think there'll be a continuation of what
- 1:45:27Speaker 4: we've seen Pittsburgh to be like a nine and eight
- 1:45:29Speaker 4: ten and seven kind of team. I don't think he'll
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: be a disaster. I think this is a spot for
- 1:45:34Speaker 4: the Jets though. I don't think very many people are
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: thinking much of the Jets, and this is when they
- 1:45:38Speaker 4: sort of they like to like pull the rug out
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: from under their fans, just to crush them a little
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: bit more. I think the Jets win outright in Week
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: one and still still have a tough year, It just
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: makes it all the much. It's much harder for Jets
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: fans to handle when they're they end up two and six.
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: Anyway, it was a tough game for hate watching because
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: you want both of you want both of them to lose.
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: You know, if the Jets in then Aaron Rodgers loses,
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: which is great. But if Aaron the Steelers win, then
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: the Jets lose, which is also great. So I want
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: them both to lose. Possible more, Yeah, I guess so,
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: So I'll go with the Steelers to win the game.
- 1:46:16Speaker 18: So that's it.
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: You know, we could definitely, do we have time, Yeah,
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: we could definitely have a good PFW argument about that.
- 1:46:21Speaker 4: What would you want more to lose right now? I
- 1:46:24Speaker 4: think if you think you're going to be on the
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: edge of the playoffs, you should be rooting against Pittsburgh.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: No one thinks the Jets are going to be in
- 1:46:30Speaker 4: the playoff people.
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: Right, that's right. Yeah, just saying yeah, it's true, it's true.
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: Just saying it's true.
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: Sunday at one on Fox, the Giants are at the Commanders.
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: Washington by six.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: So this is another another one of these games where
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: like Paul, you brought up the Giants, so like you know,
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: making a case with Abdua Carter and you know they
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: got a pass rush now Dexter Lawrence. I mean, they
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: got Molik Neighbors. I mean they have some pieces and
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: does Russell Wilson still have a little bit in the
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: tank to you know, beat a really good Washington team.
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: I still think Washington's excellent.
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna take them to win, but I think Russell
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: Wilson and that defense will keep it close. I'll take
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: the six points for the Giants.
- 1:47:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing.
- 1:47:14Speaker 6: I'm not as high on Washington as I think I
- 1:47:17Speaker 6: was last year after seeing them here in preseason, and
- 1:47:20Speaker 6: it's just one of this is a game where I
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: just have to see how it plays out.
- 1:47:25Speaker 7: Like, what are the Giants gonna look like, you know.
- 1:47:28Speaker 5: How does it all come together? They've got talent.
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: It's just you know, folks, this is your this is
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: your upset special of the week.
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: Did I steal it on you?
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: Well, not upset, but go ahead.
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna take the Giants out right. Wow, I'm
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: gonna take the Giants out right. Have all the respect
- 1:47:46Speaker 4: in the world for Jaden Daniels. I do not think
- 1:47:48Speaker 4: he was a flash in the pan. I don't think
- 1:47:50Speaker 4: it's gonna be a sophomore slump. I just think it's
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: hard to win by yourself every week, and I don't
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: think that team's all that good. And I kind of
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: like what I this is probably I'm definitely gill of
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: what I always rail against putting too much stock in
- 1:48:03Speaker 4: something I saw in the summer, and I just felt
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: like that team was more about the guys they weren't
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: on the field. The reaction on the sideline of the
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: starters for the Giants throughout that game resonated with me
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: for some reason. I know it's stupid, it's meaningless, but
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: I was impressed that that Dable had that team engaged.
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a lock of the week, just on
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: the points though the Giants cover in this game, but
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: they don't get it done.
- 1:48:31Speaker 4: So we all like the Giants. It's interesting.
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: We do giants cover lock of the week? Take the points?
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: Should I put that down as your lock of the way, Yes,
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: that's why I said it.
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: This is what you say a lot of This is
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: an interesting game. Four or five on Fox. By the way,
- 1:48:51Speaker 3: I've skipped over the Patriots and we're moving to the
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: four o'clock window. Four or five on Fox, the Titans
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: are at Denver. Not only are the Denver at home,
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: they're the only team already at one and oh so
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: it's unbelievable have the league. But yeah, so Titans at Denver.
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: You're you're right to say this is an intriguing game.
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: Denver by eight and a half. I'd like to see
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: Tennessee play this year. I think this is a tough
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: spot though, Like a Denver is a tough place to
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: play because of the altitude and all.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: The Cramward week one. Yeah, first start.
- 1:49:27Speaker 4: At start, but Denver by eight and a hey, yeah, I've.
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: Seen Tom Brady struggle their enough to know it's a
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: tough place to play. And Denver locking up, Nick Benito
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: taking care of some of their guys think fives will
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: be good. I'll take Denver and I'm gonna lay those points.
- 1:49:41Speaker 7: Yeah, biggest spread of the week, right, but yeah.
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: Yeah, tied with Dallas and Philly. I'm going to take
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: Denver to win. Also, I'm gonna take Yeah, I'll take
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: Denver both ways. But I think Tennessee is going to
- 1:49:59Speaker 4: be improved. I you know, I think it's gonna be
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: the continuation of that rookie quarterback thing that gives a
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: team a lift. I think cam Wood's gonna be all right,
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: but tough, tough one to start in Denver.
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: Yeah, chalk this game.
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: Uh, Broncos both ways, and I do think Denver is
- 1:50:18Speaker 4: a pretty good team.
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: Yeah, four oh five on Fox, the forty nine Ers
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: at the Seahawks.
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: I can't get enough of those divisional games. Uh, San
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: Francisco by two and a hay.
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: So Robert Salad back. They lost some pieces there in
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: San Francisco. No more Depo or you know, Drake Greenlaw
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: missed last season. But I think San Francisco is gonna
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: have a bounce back year. I think they'll be back
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: in command to the FC West. I'm gonna take San
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: Francisco dropped those points me too. I'm curious to what
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: Donald looks like in Seattle, Like does that you know
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 1:50:51Speaker 5: Is he really good?
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: Or was that more Kevin O'Connell Minnesota justin Jefferson, you know, like,
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: what's it look like?
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: It's a good point. I'm going to take San Francisco
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: both ways as well. I do think the Niners are
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: a good team and a talented team that got absolutely
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: decimated last year. I think they bounced back and win
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: that division.
- 1:51:12Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the forty nine ers as well both ways.
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: I think that's a fairly easy one. CBS for twenty
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: five the Lions at the Packers.
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: This is actually a division game that I would be
- 1:51:24Speaker 4: good interested in. Green Bay by.
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: Two and a hay, just so many storylines to kind
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: of dig in on, starting with Ben Johnson leaving Detroit's offense.
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: What's not going to look like now? Still have a
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: lot of pieces in place, you know, green Bay. They
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: just got a big boost bringing in Micah Parsons. I
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: still don't totally believe in Jordan Love though. I just
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: I haven't seen the consistency from him yet. He still
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: seems so up and down. But I'm gonna go with
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: green Bay at home in this one to hold serve
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: Dan Campbill's been really good against the Packers, but I
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: think they just have a little bit of juice and
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: energy right now.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: For week one at home, I'll take them and lay
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: the points.
- 1:52:03Speaker 7: I'm gonna take green Bay at home, but I'm gonna
- 1:52:04Speaker 7: give Detroit the points.
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: That's a close one.
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: I'm going to take Detroit both ways. This will be
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: the game, Mike that you and Fred will have to
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: carry the post game show as I'm watching it. So, yeah,
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: I do think the Lions have had the Packers number.
- 1:52:19Speaker 4: And I love what you said about Jordan Love. I
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: think he has talent, but I don't think he's put
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: it together, and I don't think he's ascended to a
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: level that some people have put him at.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: Yeah, my gut says Packers. I'm gonna stick with my gut.
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: Usually when I lose, it's when I go against my instincts.
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: My instincts say Packers win this game. Uh, CBS for
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: twenty five, the Texans are at the Rams.
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: The Lar the Lar by three by three.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: How Stafford You're gonna play?
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: He's I just I worry about him breaking down.
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: I think the Rams are really good, but if he
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: doesn't play, it ain't really good.
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: And that's why.
- 1:52:59Speaker 4: Yeah, the same.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: I'm going to go with an upset here on the road,
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: and I'm going to take Houston and c. J. Stroud
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: and I think they kind of continue their ascension and
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: putting things together. Solid football team down there with the Texans.
- 1:53:12Speaker 7: I'm taking that upset too.
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: Can't go against my guy. I'll take the Laar. I
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: think at least he plays to start the season. I
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: don't know how long, on how many games. Stafford at
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: thirty seven is gonna be able to play with a
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: bad back, but then they get off to a good start.
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Rams as well. For
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: this game eight twenty Sunday Night Football on NBC in Universo.
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: Good matchup the Ravens at the Bills, rematch of last
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: year's memorable Divisional Round game. Baltimore the road favorite by
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: one and a hay one and a hey, a lot
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: of people think Baltimore is the best team in football. No,
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: why talent, but like.
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: Specifically, is there something new that they've done?
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: No, but they they're perennial double digit team. Jim Harbor Harbaugh,
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: the head coach.
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: I think they've had fewer bad than some of the
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: other good teams.
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: I just I didn't know if something changed this year.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: They're very popular pick right now and a lot of
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: people are very high, and I just, you know, I
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: get why continuation, but I shouldn't know what there wasn't
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: really a big change.
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: A lot of people think they have to get off
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: the hump at some point.
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, well, I don't think they're gonna be.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: I'm gonna take the bills. I hear you at Home
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: as Home Dogs. Josh Allen, he's a married man now,
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: happy content with his life. I just had a great
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: movie Sinners made him cry. Yeah, it was that emotional, Paul,
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: I know. So Yeah, I'm gonna go with Josh. Allen's
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: ready to ready to drop bombs.
- 1:54:39Speaker 6: I really would like to see Baltimore win a Super Bowl,
- 1:54:42Speaker 6: which sounds weird to.
- 1:54:43Speaker 7: Say, but I think Buffalo is going to open it
- 1:54:47Speaker 7: up at it Home Dogs.
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: I'm going to go with Yeah.
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: I think both of these teams are excellent. I'm gonna
- 1:54:54Speaker 4: take Baltimore to win the opener. I think that they
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: get the regular season over Buffalo and then Buffalo sort
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: of turns the tables on them in the postseason. But
- 1:55:05Speaker 4: two really good teams. I think they'll both be playing
- 1:55:07Speaker 4: great well into January. It's a great Sunday night game,
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: one that I might even stay up to watch the
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: second half listening on.
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: You know, if you'll be jacked up off a Patriots win.
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: I mean if it's a blowout at halftime, you know,
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: like last year. I think Baltimore blew them out on
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: a Sunday night game and I didn't really stay up
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: to watch that.
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: Listen, listen if you're a Bills fan, watch your fingers,
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: because the windows slamming shut again.
- 1:55:31Speaker 5: Here we go, Here we go again.
- 1:55:34Speaker 4: Morell did you put together that montage I asked for
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: him closing the window on Buffalo's success.
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: I'm going with the Ravens started.
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: In twenty eighteen. You can just go back and get
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: the tape.
- 1:55:45Speaker 3: I'm going with the Ravens to win the game, opening
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: up the AFC East for your new England Patriots. Here
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: we go, let's go, ra Let's go.
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: I don't think Ira is a huge clapper. All A
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: just you are. A description of our A is the
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: most perfect description ever.
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: He collapsed.
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: He just looks like he could poop a piece of
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: toilet like toilet paper, like, you know, he's so tight
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: yet it, Mike, He's so tight, but cheeks is so
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: close together, Mike, he poops paper.
- 1:56:15Speaker 15: Get it?
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: Let's go Ravens all right? Monday night on ESPN, ABC, ESPN,
- 1:56:25Speaker 3: ESPN de Portes. So why does it have to be
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: on ESPN any ESPN two. Can't they put figure skating.
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: On his broadcast? Maybe they have a bunch of the Manning.
- 1:56:35Speaker 4: Cast on ESPN two usually, but they don't do one
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: for every single game.
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: I don't know if they know what there is for
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: this week. I saw that.
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: Well, of course it's another division game, so why not
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: have a Manning's there to talk about?
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: Vikings at the Bears?
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: Uh, Minnesota by one and a hay.
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: So again, just another great match up. Ben Johnson going
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: there to Chicago. Plenty of talent around, Caleb Williams. Caleb
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: william has plenty of talent, you know, Colston Lovelin, Like
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: we talked about the other day that they just keep
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: bringing guys in and you know, is it all going
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: to come together in Minnesota?
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: It's we saw JJ McCarthy there, it's more impressed with him.
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: The second day, I think they'll be even better, you know,
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: obviously when they have Justin Jefferson in there. So I'm
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: going to take Minnesota to hold on and I'll lay
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: that point and a half. But I just I wonder
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: Chicago's gonna start getting it going because I think if
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: they do start getting it going, they could be really good.
- 1:57:29Speaker 7: Minnesota, Minnesota.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Bears at home. I think,
- 1:57:36Speaker 4: you know, one and a half. Not much of an upset.
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: I do like I do like Caleb Williams.
- 1:57:42Speaker 3: It feels bad.
- 1:57:43Speaker 4: I don't feel bad for him. I think I think
- 1:57:45Speaker 4: he's kind of a dude. I don't really feel bad
- 1:57:47Speaker 4: for you. No, I just think that because he cried,
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: his talent was lessened somehow. That's the disconnect that he
- 1:57:55Speaker 4: can get. But in terms of being like a leader
- 1:57:58Speaker 4: and all that stuff, I think that's warranted it.
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: No, I do not.
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: But I pity the fool correct very well.
- 1:58:05Speaker 4: Put No, and you know what this is. This is
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: really a pick, I think. And Monday night to open
- 1:58:10Speaker 4: the season, it's Soldier Field is not a great way
- 1:58:13Speaker 4: to make your debut. If you're JJ McCarthy, so this
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: is more of a pick against him than it is
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: for the Bears.
- 1:58:19Speaker 3: Fair enough, I think the Minnesota Vikings, off the momentum
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: of their preseason Week two win over the Patriots, ride
- 1:58:28Speaker 3: that wave.
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: That's interesting because they lost the game. They're saying they
- 1:58:32Speaker 4: ride that wave practice they lost the game. This is
- 1:58:38Speaker 4: like when he tried to say the Patriots actually beat
- 1:58:40Speaker 4: Houston in the last game of the year when Wes
- 1:58:42Speaker 4: Welker towards a cl Paul.
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: They lost the game, but they won the week.
- 1:58:46Speaker 4: Well, I don't know.
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:58:48Speaker 4: That's largely true from those most of the writers. I
- 1:58:52Speaker 4: wasn't there.
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: I wasn't there either.
- 1:58:54Speaker 4: That's true.
- 1:58:55Speaker 3: You weren't. I forgot, I went, I came late. I
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: was no But I think the vice was there.
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: He says that they won the Day two.
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Day two, I think the Vikings win the game.
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: I don't have faith in the in the Bears. Yeah.
- 1:59:07Speaker 4: I don't have a lot of faith in the Bears either.
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: This is kind of and this isn't a Caleb Williams thing,
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: by the way, I do.
- 1:59:12Speaker 4: Think Caleb Williams is pretty good.
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: I just think there's a lot of characters like Ben
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: Johnson strikes me as a character, Caleb Williams strikes me
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: as a character. DJ Moore is a character. Like There's
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: just a lot of guys with personalities that are unique
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: and maybe you will all go together. But all right, sorry,
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: it's one fifty nine.
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: Now we go back to the Patriots Sunday at one
- 1:59:32Speaker 3: on CBS for those of you who want to know
- 1:59:35Speaker 3: where to watch CBS. The Raiders at the Patriots.
- 1:59:40Speaker 4: Oh sorry, Patriots by three line move from two and
- 1:59:43Speaker 4: a hay to three.
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: Something's up?
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: Sums up? Where's the sharps? Where do the sharps know?
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Patriots on this one. I think
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: it'll be back and forth game, maybe some sloppiness, you know,
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: big play here, big play there, But I think in
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: the end they pull it out a low scoring game.
- 2:00:00Speaker 2: I'm going to say twenty one to seventeen Patriots.
- 2:00:05Speaker 7: Now, do I hedge my bet from all access?
- 2:00:08Speaker 15: Or do I?
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: You can change the score rate, you can't change the pick.
- 2:00:10Speaker 5: Okay, I don't know if you.
- 2:00:12Speaker 4: Can do whatever you want.
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: Just right now.
- 2:00:16Speaker 4: I'm just gonna call it out if.
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: You do, and you're wearing a custom Patriots.
- 2:00:20Speaker 7: I know, Okay.
- 2:00:21Speaker 6: My thinking is last year we came out and won
- 2:00:24Speaker 6: and it gave everyone a ton of false hope, and
- 2:00:26Speaker 6: then the rest of the season was misery. So you
- 2:00:30Speaker 6: don't want them the first game and then it's only
- 2:00:32Speaker 6: up from there.
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: And I don't know, you don't have to kid, it's me, Alex,
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: it's your pick.
- 2:00:36Speaker 6: I just look at the Raiders, and I think a
- 2:00:38Speaker 6: lot of people overlook this game. But there's something to
- 2:00:41Speaker 6: be said that Pete Carroll and Gino have been together
- 2:00:44Speaker 6: quite a while, and I don't know, I could see
- 2:00:49Speaker 6: Vegas twenty seven Patriots twenty four torture.
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: He's tortured.
- 2:00:57Speaker 3: I don't look up the number of times a game
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: that the Raiders were involved in that one of the
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: teams had twenty four points. You'll be amazed.
- 2:01:03Speaker 4: Yeah, that's amazing. I'm going to take the Patriots in
- 2:01:10Speaker 4: this game in a similar kind of game that Mike
- 2:01:13Speaker 4: just described. I think that they have the home field
- 2:01:16Speaker 4: will be impactful. I think there's a lot of energy here.
- 2:01:21Speaker 4: Fred sort of talked about there should be more excitement.
- 2:01:24Speaker 4: I think there's a lot of excitement for the start
- 2:01:26Speaker 4: of the season, and I think they're going to get
- 2:01:28Speaker 4: a good environment to play in twenty three seventeen New England,
- 2:01:34Speaker 4: but not an easy game. Game that could go either way,
- 2:01:36Speaker 4: absolutely toss up game. I'm hoping it doesn't come down
- 2:01:40Speaker 4: to a field goal because the Raiders have an enormous
- 2:01:43Speaker 4: edge with Daniel Carlson, so I'm hoping it's a six
- 2:01:46Speaker 4: point thing and they need a touchdown at the end.
- 2:01:48Speaker 4: But I think the running game for the Patriots is
- 2:01:51Speaker 4: a little better than Ashton genty for the Raiders.
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: Er Okay, yes, Patriots twenty four twenty, So they squeak
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: out the win and the cover. It'll be a tough game.
- 2:02:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I hope I'm wrong.
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be a tough game. They'll be at moments
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: there where might look a little like last year offensive wise,
- 2:02:14Speaker 3: but there'll be other bright moments. So have no fear.
- 2:02:18Speaker 3: Patriots pull it out twenty four to twenty. Another game
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: in which there's twenty four is involved with the Raiders.
- 2:02:24Speaker 4: I'm going to need to hear more about this off
- 2:02:26Speaker 4: are okay?
- 2:02:28Speaker 3: All right?
- 2:02:29Speaker 4: So that's the picks.
