Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the American well would be American presidents now
- 0:04Speaker 1: outgoing and the one elect. No one will be above
- 0:09Speaker 1: the law. American principle that no one is above the law.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Why do Americans keep saying nobody is above the law
- 0:17Speaker 1: and then repeatedly showing us that some blatantly are. Biden
- 0:22Speaker 1: tweeted this during the campaign. Nobody is above the law.
- 0:25Speaker 1: He said it one hundred times. He was talking about
- 0:28Speaker 1: charges against Trump, of course, but on principle, he said,
- 0:31Speaker 1: the same applies to him and his family, including his
- 0:33Speaker 1: son Hunter. Then here we are. He's lost the election,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and quicker than you can say, get out of jail free,
- 0:39Speaker 1: he has flip flopped on that. Convictions wiped clean. Hunter
- 0:43Speaker 1: now won't face any jail time or have a criminal
- 0:46Speaker 1: record for two separate court cases, some of them involving
- 0:50Speaker 1: gun charges. By the way, their constitution allows this, It
- 0:54Speaker 1: allows presidents to pardon pretty much anyone for federal crimes
- 0:58Speaker 1: except them, so for impeachment. Trump did it on the
- 1:02Speaker 1: way out too when he was in last time. Obama
- 1:05Speaker 1: both bush'es FDR apparently hit the record with more than
- 1:08Speaker 1: two thousand pardons when he left office. At the same
- 1:11Speaker 1: time that Biden proves his son is in fact above
- 1:15Speaker 1: the law. You've got the Department of Justice dropping cases
- 1:18Speaker 1: against Trump, left, right and center. Why well, they have
- 1:21Speaker 1: a policy of not going after sitting presidents. So we
- 1:24Speaker 1: have a Department of Justice policy. We have that pesky
- 1:27Speaker 1: written constitution to blame, and that's fine. It's their country,
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's not mine. But aren't you kind of glad that
- 1:34Speaker 1: we don't mix politics with justice here like they do
- 1:38Speaker 1: in the States. When we say nobody's above them law,
- 1:41Speaker 1: we pretty much mean it, don't we. I know some
- 1:44Speaker 1: will argue that we apply the law unevenly, and there
- 1:48Speaker 1: are cases to be made for that, but on political grounds, nah,
- 1:52Speaker 1: we don't really do that. This is the Department going
- 1:56Speaker 1: after person a because they vote for labor or they
- 1:59Speaker 1: vote for act or whatever. It just doesn't work like
- 2:01Speaker 1: that here. The Americans do many things well, but separation
- 2:05Speaker 1: of powers, particularly when it comes to these types of issues,
- 2:08Speaker 1: doesn't appear to be one of them. For more from
