Speaker 1: Without you, you we have without you, we have Somalia. Okay,
• 0:05
Speaker 1: fine place where we have a congresswoman who immediately came
• 0:09
Speaker 1: over to the country by marrying her brother, comes to
• 0:12
Speaker 1: our country and then she tells us how to run
• 0:14
Speaker 1: the United States of America. It's an amazing thing how
• 0:17
Speaker 1: they could get away with it, and the people don't
• 0:19
Speaker 1: want that to happen.
• 0:21
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:25
Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
• 0:26
Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Updating. We've got two big stories
• 0:29
Speaker 3: for you. First up, you want to know how Democrats
• 0:32
Speaker 3: are planning on winning the midterms. Apparently it's literally by
• 0:36
Speaker 3: buying votes. What is their new plan. I'll explain it
• 0:39
Speaker 3: to you in just a moment. Also, Iran is on notice,
• 0:43
Speaker 3: Well maybe it's more of the people that are helping
• 0:45
Speaker 3: them get their money. Many banks are now put on
• 0:49
Speaker 3: notice by the Trump administration that if you're helping Iran
• 0:53
Speaker 3: sell their oil and funnel their cash, you are in
• 0:57
Speaker 3: serious trouble. But before we get to that, I want
• 0:59
Speaker 3: to take a moment and ask you to help the
• 1:02
Speaker 3: people in Israel. With my friends at the IFCJ working
• 1:06
Speaker 3: right now on the ground for all those in need.
• 1:09
Speaker 3: When we talk about Israel, we're not just talking about
• 1:11
Speaker 3: a place. We're talking about a people connected to a promise,
• 1:15
Speaker 3: a promise made by God, one he has never broken
• 1:18
Speaker 3: and one that continues even today. Because God's character doesn't
• 1:23
Speaker 3: change what he begins, He sustains what he promises, he fulfills,
• 1:29
Speaker 3: and that matters today. Right now in Israel, families run
• 1:33
Speaker 3: to shelters as sirens sound. Now this isn't just a crisis.
• 1:37
Speaker 3: It's a call to respond for Christians. Caring for Jewish
• 1:41
Speaker 3: people isn't rooted in politics. It's rooted in trust and
• 1:45
Speaker 3: a God who keeps his word. So we don't stay distant.
• 1:49
Speaker 3: We step in with prayer and practical help. The International
• 1:53
Speaker 3: Fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the ground, bringing food,
• 1:57
Speaker 3: caring for the vulnerable, and reminding people they're not alone.
• 2:01
Speaker 3: This is what it looks like to line your heart
• 2:04
Speaker 3: with Gods, to pray, to show up, and to care.
• 2:07
Speaker 3: So join us and praying for peace of Jerusalem and
• 2:11
Speaker 3: for the people who need it right now. Visit pray
• 2:15
Speaker 3: I have CJ dot org. That's pray, I have CJ
• 2:21
Speaker 3: dot org. It's the forty seven Morning Update, and it
• 2:24
  Speaker 3: starts right now.
• 2:25
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 2:27
Speaker 3: If you're a Democrat ahead of the midterm elections, what
• 2:30
Speaker 3: is the easiest way to get someone to vote for
• 2:34
Speaker 3: you instead of Donald Trump? It is to offer you
• 2:37
Speaker 3: free stuff. Now, we know that Democrats love to offer
• 2:42
Speaker 3: free stuff. We know like they absolutely love to offer
• 2:46
Speaker 3: the free stuff. Elizabeth Warren. I'm going to take you
• 2:49
Speaker 3: back in time to twenty twenty one, when Elizabeth Warren
• 2:53
Speaker 3: jumped on the bandwagon that you, as an American, should
• 2:56
Speaker 3: not have to pay for college anymore, and if you
• 2:59
Speaker 3: took out a bunch of debts, the American people should
• 3:01
Speaker 3: pay off your student loan debt, even if you've failed
• 3:03
  Speaker 3: out of school.
• 3:04
Speaker 4: We are just about out of time, but I have
• 3:05
Speaker 4: to ask you about this. You and I have talked
• 3:07
Speaker 4: before about student loan debt. Senator Schumer is out this
• 3:10
Speaker 4: morning with the new op ed asking the President to
• 3:12
Speaker 4: extend that payment pause on student loans. He also wants
• 3:14
Speaker 4: him to cancel fifty thousand dollars in student debt. We've
• 3:17
Speaker 4: reached out on our end of the White House on this.
• 3:19
Speaker 4: I have to ask you. The President has been reluctant
• 3:21
Speaker 4: to take this step, this cancelation, when he's been asked
• 3:23
Speaker 4: about it. Have you gotten, Senator, recently, any assurances from
• 3:26
Speaker 4: the White House that this might actually be under consideration
• 3:29
  Speaker 4: from the President.
• 3:30
Speaker 5: I am not going to talk about private conversations, but
• 3:34
Speaker 5: I will say the same thing in public. Debt, I know,
• 3:37
Speaker 5: but I'll say the same thing in public that I
• 3:39
Speaker 5: say in private, and that is, we need to cancel
• 3:42
Speaker 5: fifty thousand dollars in student loan debt. That would free
• 3:45
Speaker 5: up about thirty five million Americans from having any student
• 3:49
Speaker 5: loan debt at all. It would be the single best
• 3:51
Speaker 5: way that the President of the United States could help
• 3:54
Speaker 5: close the black white wealth gap for people with student
• 3:58
Speaker 5: loan debt. It's about racial justice, it's about economic justice.
• 4:02
Speaker 5: It's about building a strong future going forward. He can
• 4:05
  Speaker 5: do this today.
• 4:06
Speaker 4: Private conversations aside, are you at least optimistic or do
• 4:09
Speaker 4: you still see this as an uphill challenge?
• 4:10
Speaker 5: But I am optimistic, and I'm optimistic for exactly the
• 4:14
Speaker 5: reason I gave, and that is it is the right
• 4:17
Speaker 5: thing to do, and I believe Joe Biden will recognize that.
• 4:21
Speaker 4: Senator Elizabeth Warren, thank you again for your time and
• 4:23
Speaker 4: for being on this morning.
• 4:24
Speaker 3: Now, let me just put it into context. Why I
• 4:27
Speaker 3: just played for you that clip. We are now hearing
• 4:30
Speaker 3: that Democrats are seriously considering bringing back the lie that
• 4:36
Speaker 3: they are going to pay your student loans off if
• 4:41
Speaker 3: you'll just elect them in the midterm elections. This is
• 4:44
Speaker 3: not a joke. Democrats are having meetings now trying to
• 4:47
Speaker 3: figure out what they can promise you that will get
• 4:50
Speaker 3: you to the polls, what they can promise you that
• 4:53
Speaker 3: will make you want to vote for them. Now it's
• 4:57
Speaker 3: getting more and more expensive the promises, right, like they're
• 5:01
Speaker 3: having to up the anni the original like just buy
• 5:04
Speaker 3: a vote campaign by Democrats. That was all when Obama
• 5:09
Speaker 3: was in office. And you may remember that Barack Obama
• 5:12
Speaker 3: was a guy that was out there that was very excited,
• 5:15
Speaker 3: and he wanted you to have what many described as
• 5:18
Speaker 3: a Obama phone, and if you voted for Barack Obama,
• 5:22
Speaker 3: he was going to give you one of those Obama phones.
• 5:26
Speaker 3: And those Obama phones were free, right, you got free
• 5:29
Speaker 3: cell phone minutes, right. And not only were they going
• 5:33
Speaker 3: to do that, but then I go back to Barack
• 5:35
Speaker 3: Obama and what he said about healthcare. Remember when Obamacare
• 5:38
Speaker 3: was supposed to be free. Let's go back to twenty thirteen,
• 5:42
Speaker 3: when the Lives are being told on Telemundo. He was
• 5:44
Speaker 3: saying this to you guessed it illegal immigrants Latino community.
• 5:48
Speaker 6: I'd understand because nobody is more likely to have health
• 5:51
Speaker 6: insurance than Latinos in this country, and they stand to,
• 5:56
Speaker 6: for the first time, get affordable healthcare coverage that they
• 6:00
Speaker 6: can count on for themselves and their families. And they
• 6:02
Speaker 6: don't have to take my word for it. They'll be
• 6:03
Speaker 6: able to go to a website or a place a
• 6:06
Speaker 6: phone call, and they'll be able to look at the plans,
• 6:08
Speaker 6: how much they cost, they deal that they get for it,
• 6:11
Speaker 6: and choose one that's right for them. And I think
• 6:14
Speaker 6: what people will find is, in fact, that it's an
• 6:17
Speaker 6: absolute good deal and they should take advantage of it.
• 6:20
Speaker 6: And when you look at some states like California who
• 6:25
Speaker 6: are really moving this forward, they've already started to estimate
• 6:28
Speaker 6: what their premiums are going to be. People are potentially
• 6:31
Speaker 6: going to be able to get health insurance for less
• 6:33
Speaker 6: than their cell phone bill. They'll have that security in
• 6:36
  Speaker 6: that coverage.
• 6:38
Speaker 3: Less than their cell phone bills. So not only will
• 6:40
Speaker 3: we give you Obama phone, but we're going to give
• 6:41
Speaker 3: you healthcare. It's going to be less than a cell
• 6:44
Speaker 3: phone bill. By the way, that was a lie. We
• 6:46
Speaker 3: knew it was a lie. Then we warned it was
• 6:49
Speaker 3: a lie. But they passed Obamacare, you know, the bill
• 6:51
Speaker 3: that we won't know what's in the bill until after
• 6:53
Speaker 3: you get the bill. Remember that, until after we passed
• 6:55
Speaker 3: the bill for Nancy Pelosi. And then there was the
• 6:57
Speaker 3: original Obama phone woman that went viral at that Romney
• 7:01
Speaker 3: event back in twenty twelve, the big lie that started
• 7:06
Speaker 3: all the Hey, we'll just say we're gonna give away
• 7:07
Speaker 3: free stuff. The woman out there near Cleveland, Bama.
• 7:11
Speaker 5: You got Obama phone?
• 7:12
Speaker 2: Yes, everybody in Cleveland.
• 7:14
Speaker 3: Oh my, Nordy got Obama fallI.
• 7:16
Speaker 5: A woman president. You know he gave us a phone.
• 7:20
Speaker 6: He give you a phone.
• 7:21
Speaker 5: Let he give you a phone? You shun up during
• 7:23
Speaker 5: u a full steps you all charity?
• 7:26
Speaker 4: You got lo here come you give some.
• 7:30
Speaker 6: Okay, what's wrong with Romney again?
• 7:31
  Speaker 5: Romney?
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: He sucks me.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: Romney sucks bad. We can agree with that part of
• 7:37
Speaker 3: the statement. So there you have it. As we get
• 7:39
Speaker 3: ready for the midterms, get ready for the big lies
• 7:42
Speaker 3: that are coming your way. Free stuff for everyone.
• 7:47
Speaker 2: Next story number two.
• 7:48
Speaker 3: The Treasury Department has just come out telling US banks
• 7:53
Speaker 3: to flag suspected Iranian money laundering networks. The Treasury Department
• 8:00
Speaker 3: is wanting US banks and other financial institutions to monitor
• 8:04
Speaker 3: what they describe as Iranian money laundering networks that use
• 8:07
Speaker 3: their funds to spuggle sanctioned oil through shell companies, as
• 8:11
Speaker 3: well as crypto networks. The move, which effectively deputizes the
• 8:15
Speaker 3: global financial system to help disrupt Iran's sanctions evasion infrastructure,
• 8:21
Speaker 3: comes as the US and Iran reached another impasse over
• 8:25
Speaker 3: how the end the war will happen while their ceasefire
• 8:28
Speaker 3: has grown increasingly shaky. President Trump on Monday said the
• 8:33
Speaker 3: Iranian ceasefire is on life support after he rejected Tehran's
• 8:36
Speaker 3: latest proposal to end the war as a non starter
• 8:39
Speaker 3: because they want to keep and have nuclear weapons. The
• 8:41
Speaker 3: Trump administration is calling on banks now to flag certain
• 8:45
Speaker 3: customers who may launder funds for Rand's Revolutionary Guard.
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: Now.
• 8:50
Speaker 3: The IRGC is an essence in charge of the government
• 8:52
Speaker 3: right now, they are a declared terrorist organization. What's also
• 8:55
Speaker 3: really interesting about what's happening is this is what should
• 8:58
Speaker 3: have already have been had opening under prior administrations. Except
• 9:02
Speaker 3: prior administrations they decided to just look the other way.
• 9:07
Speaker 3: We had sanctions on Iran, they just were not imposed,
• 9:11
Speaker 3: they were not actually used. Again, prior administrations looking the
• 9:16
Speaker 3: other way, trying appeasement instead of actually saying that we
• 9:20
Speaker 3: are going to stop Iran from doing what they were
• 9:22
Speaker 3: doing as a state sponsored terrorism. Now, the Biden administration
• 9:26
Speaker 3: was actually very smart. They didn't lift the sanctions on Iran.
• 9:29
Speaker 3: They just deliberately chose not to enforce the sanctions that
• 9:32
Speaker 3: we had in Iran because they didn't want to get
• 9:33
Speaker 3: hit politically. Well, now the Trump administration is saying, not
• 9:36
Speaker 3: only are we going to have sanctions on Iran, but
• 9:39
Speaker 3: we are now calling on the banks to do their job. Now,
• 9:41
Speaker 3: once the government says this, this changes everything in the
• 9:45
Speaker 3: banking community. Do you want to be the bank that
• 9:47
Speaker 3: gets busted laundering funds through Iran's Revolutionary Guard, which is
• 9:52
Speaker 3: a terrorist organization, And that's exactly why the Trump administration
• 9:55
Speaker 3: is saying this. Now they're also saying this includes newly
• 10:00
Speaker 3: companies moving unusually large amounts of money. They said, firms
• 10:04
Speaker 3: that route payments through multiple intermediaries or transactions connected to
• 10:10
Speaker 3: Iranian crypto firms. Now, as part of the US initiative
• 10:14
Speaker 3: to monitor Iranian oil sales, banks are being asked to
• 10:17
Speaker 3: watch out for oil labeled as Malaysian blend to disguise
• 10:22
Speaker 3: its Iranian origin, missing or falsified shipping documents, or ship
• 10:28
Speaker 3: to ship oil transfer that obscure where cargo originally came from.
• 10:33
Speaker 3: In other words, are saying ignorance in the banking world
• 10:35
Speaker 3: is no longer bliss.
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: Banks.
• 10:37
Speaker 3: By the way, many banks they don't care where the
• 10:39
Speaker 3: money that comes to their bank actually comes from. They
• 10:41
Speaker 3: don't care if the money is coming from a terrorist
• 10:44
Speaker 3: regime because they make money off that money. Right they
• 10:47
Speaker 3: want massive depodsit's coming into their bank. So for years,
• 10:52
Speaker 3: banks and there's many banks out there, and there are
• 10:55
Speaker 3: shady banks, yes in the United Sedates America that have
• 10:57
Speaker 3: no problem helping launder money for cartels, for Russia oligarchs,
• 11:03
Speaker 3: or for terrorist organizations and groups. In fact, we saw
• 11:06
Speaker 3: that after nine to eleven. Now Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement
• 11:10
Speaker 3: Network report released on Monday says oil firms linked to
• 11:13
Speaker 3: Iran conducted roughly four billion I'm gonna say that again,
• 11:17
Speaker 3: roughly four billion in transactions in twenty twenty four alone.
• 11:21
Speaker 3: How is that even possible? It is because the enforcement
• 11:25
Speaker 3: mechanisms in our banking system deliberately look the other way,
• 11:27
Speaker 3: because what bank doesn't want four billion dollars in transactions
• 11:31
Speaker 3: or at least a piece of that four billion dollars.
• 11:34
Speaker 3: And dozens of shipping companies based in Iraq, the United
• 11:38
Speaker 3: Air of Emirates in Hong Kong are all connected to
• 11:40
Speaker 3: transporting sanction Iranian oil as well. They say proceeded proceeds
• 11:45
Speaker 3: about seven hundred and seven million through US accounts in
• 11:48
Speaker 3: twenty twenty four. So they're also now saying, hey, if
• 11:51
Speaker 3: you see companies in Iraq and the UAE Hong Kong
• 11:54
Speaker 3: that are doing this, you also now have an obligation
• 11:58
Speaker 3: to report it. Now, along with a bombing campaign in Iran,
• 12:01
Speaker 3: the Trump administration is now turned towards an economic focused
• 12:05
Speaker 3: effort aimed at choking Tehran into submission. They do this
• 12:09
Speaker 3: not only through sanctions that are actually enforced, but also
• 12:12
Speaker 3: the threat of secondary sanctions on Iran's allies, which is
• 12:17
Speaker 3: now very important. In April, and this went very much unreported,
• 12:21
Speaker 3: Treasury Secretary Scott Besson send a letter to financial institutions
• 12:25
Speaker 3: in China. In Hong Kong, the UAE, and Oman threatening
• 12:29
Speaker 3: to levy sanctions and secondary sanctions for doing business with Iran,
• 12:33
Speaker 3: and accusing those countries of allowing Iranian illicit activities to
• 12:38
Speaker 3: flow through their financial institutions. So here we are the
• 12:42
Speaker 3: President of United States of America yet again saying if
• 12:45
Speaker 3: you're helping Iran, you are on our list. And if
• 12:49
Speaker 3: you're an American bank or any bank that's connected to
• 12:52
Speaker 3: the US and our institutions, you are also on notice
• 12:56
Speaker 3: that if we catch you helping a taris regime, there
• 12:59
Speaker 3: will be hell to pay for it. And that is
• 13:02
Speaker 3: how the present continues to fight Iran as we speak.
