  Speaker 1: I've got to know me to grow me. And by

  Speaker 1: the way, if you're leading other people, you've got to

  Speaker 1: know them to grow them. You see, managers lead everybody

  Speaker 1: the same. Leaders lead everybody differently. And what leaders understand

  Speaker 1: is the only way that you can lead people differently

  Speaker 1: is by knowing them intimately. Well, the only way that

  Speaker 1: you can grow yourself and know yours is to know yourself.

  Speaker 1: So all leadership begins and all personal growth begins with

  Speaker 1: the law of awareness. I have to know me to

  Speaker 1: grow me. Now, how do we do this? Three R's,

  Speaker 1: three words. They all start with the letter R. These

  Speaker 1: words will be your compass to help you become aware

  Speaker 1: of yourself and help you to be able to grow yourself.

  Speaker 1: The first R is requirement. Basically, the requirement question just asks,

  Speaker 1: what's required of me? What do I have to do?

  Speaker 1: You see, every one of us, we have certain requirements
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: in our life. We have certain requirements in our job.

  Speaker 1: It's just part of the job. It's what we have
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: to do. It's why we get paid. It's how we
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: get paid. It's what's expected of us. So I've got
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: to ask myself, well, what do I have to do?

  Speaker 1: Because whatever I have to do, I've got to do it.

  Speaker 1: So the requirement question needs to fit in here. I've

  Speaker 1: got to be aware of what is expected of me,

  Speaker 1: what is required of me in life. Now, I want

  Speaker 1: to stop here just for a second and say, as

  Speaker 1: you become successful... You'll be able to take some things

  Speaker 1: that are required of you and be able to transfer

  Speaker 1: them to others, teach, equip, delegate, empower. That's all part

  Speaker 1: of leadership. But in the beginning especially, there's a lot

  Speaker 1: of things that are just required of you and me
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: that we have to do. And whatever those are, we
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: want to grow in them because we want to get

  Speaker 1: better in them because those are expectations that other people
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: have of us that need to be fulfilled. Pastors and
