- 0:35Speaker 1: All right, it's Patriots Unfiltered. It's PP in the deuce edition. Guys.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I don't know I have torn because I always like
- 0:41Speaker 1: to get our guys. It's just invested in the drop
- 0:43Speaker 1: pig that you got on your turn. That's like that thing.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I can't mit you up, Bob, but we do it
- 0:50Speaker 1: the right way. Other golf depends. And I think he's
- 0:52Speaker 1: number forty eight. I've got his name. Sounds good and
- 0:55Speaker 1: he ran very well. We're about you. I love him.
- 0:58Speaker 1: M A. Paul if David and Bethlehem writes in uh
- 1:02Speaker 1: he likes he likes pp induce induce like ham and eggs,
- 1:06Speaker 1: p B and J perfect bad guy, what a bad guy?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Fat Shamy on national television after that wake up three sixty.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I'm telling you I just wake up. I think he
- 1:16Speaker 1: went to sleep on eighty. Freddie, I was telling I
- 1:18Speaker 1: was telling Deuce, Freddie, I was wrong about whether or
- 1:20Speaker 1: not the offense would look different with Mac. It would
- 1:22Speaker 1: look the same, all right. That was being sarcastic. I
- 1:25Speaker 1: got finger wagged on the postgame show, Freddie. Oh, yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 1: by who I know, some guy. This is Patriot's Unfiltered,
- 1:31Speaker 1: fueled by Duncan Pepe induce. Sounds like your potty every
- 1:37Speaker 1: day every day. That's our show when you're not here. Addition,
- 1:41Speaker 1: all right, uh, it is Wednesday here at Jill's Stadium,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and it's a real Wednesday, except the team's not here. Huh.
- 1:48Speaker 1: That's true. We just can't get it completely back to normal.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And even next week is the Saturday game, Saturday, crazy
- 1:54Speaker 1: Christmas Eve. We'll see him last two weeks. Yeah, maybe
- 1:58Speaker 1: unless that Buffalo game Saturday, and then right anyway, it's
- 2:02Speaker 1: it's p P. The Buffalo game can't be on Saturday.
- 2:05Speaker 1: They can't. I don't know. I thought on my calendar
- 2:08Speaker 1: it says it would be one of those two days,
- 2:10Speaker 1: but it won't be the Buffalo game. Oh I didn't
- 2:12Speaker 1: know that. Yeah, to a tvd oh Okay, Oh, that'd
- 2:16Speaker 1: be great if it was on Saturday. But I think
- 2:18Speaker 1: let's let's effort that. But I think you're of the
- 2:20Speaker 1: opinion that it's going to be Sunday because the Buffalo
- 2:22Speaker 1: Bills are going to play Miami probably. I just think
- 2:25Speaker 1: they have to play it at the same time as
- 2:27Speaker 1: Kansas City more than likely, right, because I mean, unless
- 2:31Speaker 1: one of those teams slips up. Yeah, if it's within
- 2:35Speaker 1: a game, the game will mean something, right, unless the
- 2:39Speaker 1: Bills are ahead of the Chiefs by a game. But
- 2:42Speaker 1: you don't need to give me a headache. It's due,
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's Pep, it's Fred. This is the guy we gotta get.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We gotta get these these playoffs. Don't get me a
- 2:49Speaker 1: headache me other people like that talk four weeks that's
- 2:54Speaker 1: in the booth. Are we gonna have any uh stop?
- 2:56Speaker 1: I think it's just us today, just the trio. Yeah, okay,
- 3:00Speaker 1: in the desert Tucson with the team. Yes. I hope
- 3:04Speaker 1: he's doing well. They just did to catch twenty two shows.
- 3:06Speaker 1: In case you missed that, you can catch it on
- 3:08Speaker 1: the rebound on demand wherever you get your podcasts. M
- 3:14Speaker 1: I thought evans Um after further review, thing was interesting.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's a little positive. Yeah, I mean I think, you know,
- 3:23Speaker 1: I'd love it, you know, to have him speak himself.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I think he's okay with what they were trying to
- 3:28Speaker 1: do offensively. Admittedly, they have to go that we're out,
- 3:31Speaker 1: like there's no really other option right now for this offense.
- 3:35Speaker 1: But he was he thought that the plan was good
- 3:38Speaker 1: considering what they have to work with right now, specifically
- 3:41Speaker 1: the protection issues that they've had over that's the whole thing. Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 1: that's the whole thing. I think the pause point though,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I mean, we keep talking about it, and I mean, really,
- 3:50Speaker 1: they got four or five guys, right, I mean I
- 3:51Speaker 1: don't think anyone I mean maybe you did, Paul, but
- 3:53Speaker 1: I didn't expect Trent Round to you know, be this
- 3:56Speaker 1: this inconsistent. These are the guys you wanted, with the
- 3:59Speaker 1: exception of Saya. Win got hurt, yeah, which and I
- 4:01Speaker 1: didn't even know if I wanted Isaiah at left right tackle,
- 4:04Speaker 1: So you know, it's a they've had issues, but I mean,
- 4:08Speaker 1: it wasn't this bad when Trent Brown was at right
- 4:11Speaker 1: tackle and Win was it left. I mean, you know
- 4:14Speaker 1: everybody said, oh, you know, Win's not a first Okay,
- 4:16Speaker 1: maybe he's not first round talent. But it wasn't terrible.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I would agree with you. You know, it wasn't terrible.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So the weird thing, I don't know enough a bad decision,
- 4:24Speaker 1: I guess moving that over and I wonder if that's
- 4:26Speaker 1: a money thing, you know, with win in his last
- 4:28Speaker 1: year or I don't know, I don't know. I mean,
- 4:30Speaker 1: you could always just have flipped them back at some
- 4:31Speaker 1: point if you really felt that bad about it. But yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I just I'm I'm surprised that you
- 4:38Speaker 1: know Trent Brown, And like the thing that's weird to
- 4:40Speaker 1: me that I don't know that you'd have to talk
- 4:42Speaker 1: to an offensive line coaches just suddenly he cut blocks
- 4:45Speaker 1: guys and it doesn't seem like they're supposed to cut
- 4:47Speaker 1: block guys. And I mean the visual is that he
- 4:50Speaker 1: wants to let's sit down and take a reserver a second,
- 4:51Speaker 1: maybe years something. But you know, this is a couple
- 4:53Speaker 1: of times where it's like, you know, you know, when
- 4:55Speaker 1: the ball's coming out quick and you want a cup,
- 4:56Speaker 1: block a guy and get it, you know, get him
- 4:58Speaker 1: down for a second so you could get it over him.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But sometimes it's just like a straight Russian he's like
- 5:02Speaker 1: doing it and the guy just gets up continues as Russian. Yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 1: based on the amount of screens they threw on Monday night,
- 5:10Speaker 1: maybe he just got confused and just assumes the week
- 5:13Speaker 1: before that they would throwing a screen and that was
- 5:14Speaker 1: one of the times that they weren't throwing. He's confused.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I agree with you. I think his
- 5:21Speaker 1: technique and I think he's had as you know this.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I think he has motor issues, you know, desire problems.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I don't think he's always playing hard this year instead
- 5:35Speaker 1: of missing a lot of games, which is his norm,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I think he's taken games off that he's played in
- 5:40Speaker 1: certainly plays in consistent games. That's yeah. And I don't
- 5:44Speaker 1: know what the reason is. I don't know, if you're right, Freddie,
- 5:47Speaker 1: it's money related. And he's just disenchanted because he resigned
- 5:51Speaker 1: and then was switched after he maybe felt like he
- 5:54Speaker 1: was bait and switched a little bit, you know, because
- 5:57Speaker 1: he signed as a right tackle and then played as
- 5:59Speaker 1: a left tackle. I don't know what's what's in Trent
- 6:02Speaker 1: Brown's mind, but he hasn't played well and that's been
- 6:04Speaker 1: I think the play of the tackles has been the
- 6:07Speaker 1: breakdown of the offensive line. It's also everybody else is
- 6:11Speaker 1: dealing with really for the most part, all around the league. Yep.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I mean the last time, I don't know what it is. Now,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it's probably dropped with all these you know, with Connor
- 6:18Speaker 1: McDermott playing now, it's probably dropped. But it's like three
- 6:21Speaker 1: weeks ago they were ranked sixth, right, the group was
- 6:24Speaker 1: ranked sixth in the league. I think people, I think
- 6:27Speaker 1: most more often than not, these offensive lines aren't very
- 6:30Speaker 1: good and teams find a way to get around it. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I wonder if they'll being Trent back. I mean, that's
- 6:34Speaker 1: he is on another year. You don't have any depth
- 6:36Speaker 1: re really behind him. Isaiah Win's a free agent. Can
- 6:39Speaker 1: you really afford to con But at the same time,
- 6:40Speaker 1: does this you know, I'd like to know what this
- 6:42Speaker 1: illness is because it's dragged on for a while, and
- 6:45Speaker 1: you know, the first thing you think of, obviously is COVID,
- 6:48Speaker 1: and you know you can be in that COVID fog.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But I would imagine if he did no, I'm serious, yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I would imagine if he did have COVID, he wouldn't
- 6:55Speaker 1: be out there at all. So I don't you know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: I don't think it's COVID. Yeah, but I mean this
- 7:00Speaker 1: a lot of stuff going around right now that I mean,
- 7:01Speaker 1: honestly weird stuff my experience worse than COVID. Like you know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: there's there's RSV. I think not just for for kids.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I think adults can can get that as well, which
- 7:10Speaker 1: can be can be tough. But and you know, if
- 7:12Speaker 1: you want to really get back to it, rs VP
- 7:14Speaker 1: is even worse. That's a good that's a great point. Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I got Mike Rees out with his Arizona sweatshirt on
- 7:20Speaker 1: his hoodie. By the way, um Vegas for the weekend
- 7:25Speaker 1: fifty degrees. Yeah, you know what's funny. I did not
- 7:29Speaker 1: realize this until Hardy explained it to Mike and I
- 7:32Speaker 1: the other day. Um, so he's going he's out there now,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and I guess like the Sports Hub is putting on
- 7:40Speaker 1: some promotions and stuff and yeah, and they've they've been
- 7:43Speaker 1: talking hard because Hardy used to live in Vegas, and
- 7:45Speaker 1: they've been talking on like, you know, we want to
- 7:47Speaker 1: set up some promotions and do some some parties and
- 7:50Speaker 1: you know, should we reserve a pool party? And and
- 7:52Speaker 1: Hardy's like it's the middle of December. It's winter. Yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 1: it's not like you're not going in the pool, right,
- 8:00Speaker 1: And I was. I kind of always thought it was
- 8:02Speaker 1: warm there too. I looked. I looked it up, like,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I know, it gets cooler in the desert at night,
- 8:07Speaker 1: but yeah, I looked up during the day. For the
- 8:08Speaker 1: next like five six days, it's not gonna get into sixty. No,
- 8:12Speaker 1: And that's if Hardy says that's normal. What do you
- 8:15Speaker 1: call it the high desert or something. He had a
- 8:17Speaker 1: name for a term. You might have had your headphones
- 8:19Speaker 1: on when you were trying to I have to do
- 8:20Speaker 1: when you were trying to block everybody out. I'm not
- 8:22Speaker 1: just talking about the weather in Vegas. I'm paying attention
- 8:24Speaker 1: to the football game, except for you don't see you know,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Mac Jones blow off the offensive coordinator or something. Totally
- 8:30Speaker 1: missed it. He texts me at like one thirty in
- 8:33Speaker 1: the morning. I get home and I started going on
- 8:35Speaker 1: the Twitter, just you know, lyne down the time, and
- 8:37Speaker 1: I didn't see the Mac. Given the way the wave off,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you do be quiet alone. So we have this whole
- 8:45Speaker 1: thing on the post game. So anyway, that was Hardy said,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's it's typically cold in the winter that's there, but
- 8:52Speaker 1: to wrap that story up. But so we're talking about
- 8:55Speaker 1: the I know you listened to at least some of
- 8:57Speaker 1: our post game Freddy, Right, yeah, I don't. So we
- 9:00Speaker 1: were talking a little bit. We didn't like prolong it
- 9:02Speaker 1: with the mac Jones. I mean, it is what it
- 9:04Speaker 1: is at this point, this this conflict there, right, I mean,
- 9:07Speaker 1: what are we gonna do. I'm not going to turn
- 9:08Speaker 1: this into a soap opera like the way that you know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: like the sports ob does already, so Hardy and I
- 9:14Speaker 1: are sort of talking about it like it's not a
- 9:16Speaker 1: great look, you know, but at the same time, it's
- 9:18Speaker 1: not a great look that fourteen weeks into the season
- 9:20Speaker 1: you still can't get the plays in on time, right,
- 9:22Speaker 1: which is what Belichick said on EI By the way,
- 9:25Speaker 1: Um and Mike was kind of like, I don't know.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't think it was that big a deal.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Like wait, so we just dropped it, you know, we didn't,
- 9:32Speaker 1: Like I said, we didn't talk about it that long.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I just thought it was the f Like two hours later,
- 9:36Speaker 1: it's like texting me, It's like I didn't see that
- 9:39Speaker 1: whole thing with him blowing him off, telling him that
- 9:43Speaker 1: you know up all I got was the supersonic F
- 9:46Speaker 1: bomb that he dropped like right on you know, yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: when when he took the time out and then right
- 9:50Speaker 1: is it's about to cut. You just heard it. He
- 9:52Speaker 1: took the time out and gave an F bomb, which
- 9:54Speaker 1: is totally totally understandable. But that's all thought, what are
- 9:58Speaker 1: these guys talking about? Like he just if there's some
- 10:00Speaker 1: interesting things going on, not just on the sideline. But
- 10:04Speaker 1: I think, you know, all week and I was telling
- 10:06Speaker 1: Paul before the show. There was one point in the game,
- 10:09Speaker 1: I think it was third quarter they had a time out,
- 10:12Speaker 1: Patrios on offense. Mac walks over to the sideline to
- 10:15Speaker 1: Patricia Builds about ten feet away. Ten feet away. Normally
- 10:20Speaker 1: when you have the head coach comes over just to listen,
- 10:23Speaker 1: even if he doesn't have any just listen what the
- 10:25Speaker 1: two were talking. He didn't even go over there, like
- 10:28Speaker 1: like it was weird. It was weird, Like he just like,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let them deal with this. I'm not
- 10:34Speaker 1: gonna get involved. I just thought that, you know, like
- 10:37Speaker 1: you never know, maybe I'm making too big a thing
- 10:39Speaker 1: out of nothing, but I just like I saw I
- 10:42Speaker 1: watched this whole thing transpire. It was during a break. Obviously,
- 10:45Speaker 1: Mac walks over and Bill he looked at him, but
- 10:49Speaker 1: he didn't go over there, you know. And I just thought,
- 10:52Speaker 1: don't you want to know what they're saying? It's it
- 10:53Speaker 1: was a critical time too. I was like, might have
- 10:56Speaker 1: been third or something, and you know what, coming out
- 10:59Speaker 1: of the break would have been an important play, and
- 11:02Speaker 1: he didn't seem that he needed to see what was
- 11:05Speaker 1: going on there. I thought, I thought that was interesting. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and I and I don't know how big of a
- 11:10Speaker 1: deal it is either with Fred, but I do you know,
- 11:13Speaker 1: in my mind's eye, when I see a quarterback in
- 11:15Speaker 1: a time out go over to the sideline, he generally
- 11:18Speaker 1: goes to the head coach. Now, often the offensive coordinator
- 11:21Speaker 1: is there as well, like you talk whatever. But when
- 11:25Speaker 1: Fred brought that up, I was like, I mean, usually
- 11:27Speaker 1: you see the guy go over, and even if it's
- 11:29Speaker 1: not the guy who's calling plays, like you know Lamar
- 11:32Speaker 1: Jackson goes to the sideline, it's John Harbaugh is there.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You see him, right? You know. I think Greg Roman
- 11:36Speaker 1: might be one of those guys in the booth. Anyway,
- 11:38Speaker 1: I'm not sure, but anyway, you see him with the
- 11:40Speaker 1: head coach. You just want to know what, Okay, what
- 11:42Speaker 1: are they saying? You know, yeah, we did do it
- 11:45Speaker 1: here and he didn't even go over. Yeah. I don't
- 11:48Speaker 1: know if it means anything. Yeah, I don't either. I
- 11:50Speaker 1: just I just thought it was notable. Again, if he
- 11:52Speaker 1: were the Sports Hub, we spend the next hour and
- 11:54Speaker 1: forty five minutes saying how it's disrespectful that he doesn't
- 11:57Speaker 1: go over and talk to his own quarterback. It was
- 11:59Speaker 1: just a little it was notable to me. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 1: a lot of that stuff, you know, just yeah, kind
- 12:03Speaker 1: of talking to who. Fortunately you don't get it. You
- 12:07Speaker 1: don't get the America's team video after you don't make
- 12:09Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, you know, because but I'd love to
- 12:12Speaker 1: hear the inside story of the twenty twenty two seasons.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Like it's all said, like you get those on the
- 12:17Speaker 1: America's Game, right yeah, or when the NFL films does
- 12:20Speaker 1: it and they always like end it right on your
- 12:22Speaker 1: like your best moment whatever it could be weak two
- 12:24Speaker 1: and then and then like and then they'll go like
- 12:29Speaker 1: I just love those. When I was a kid, you know,
- 12:33Speaker 1: and every I would watch and I was like, we're
- 12:34Speaker 1: gonna be good. Next year every time, like the two
- 12:37Speaker 1: and fourteen Patriots are still marching on and they have
- 12:42Speaker 1: like them coming out of the lock right next year,
- 12:46Speaker 1: we're gonna be good, by the way. Uh. I just
- 12:49Speaker 1: saw Sala, who's the head coach of the Jets, wearing
- 12:51Speaker 1: a sweatshirt that says Gotham City Football Club. They don't
- 12:55Speaker 1: practice in New York City, they don't play in New
- 12:57Speaker 1: York City. You know, I don't know what where they
- 13:00Speaker 1: get off. It'd be like us saying we're the Boston
- 13:02Speaker 1: where the Boston Patriots when city officially in New York.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Gotham City is New York officially New York to Batman, Yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I know it's a Batman thing, but I didn't know
- 13:11Speaker 1: it was. You know, they call themselves Goths. I don't know.
- 13:14Speaker 1: They're trying really hard. Some some of us just as
- 13:16Speaker 1: soon that was fake. I mean, if I was in
- 13:19Speaker 1: New Jersey, i'd i'd be you know, I felt disrespect
- 13:22Speaker 1: to present your team. Yeah's your your your your state?
- 13:24Speaker 1: Yeah right, anyway, always always good to pick on the Jets.
- 13:29Speaker 1: It really bothers me. I love when friend does that.
- 13:32Speaker 1: It really bothers me. Are you going back to the
- 13:35Speaker 1: for the Raiders. I'll be leaving on Friday. Friday, back
- 13:38Speaker 1: on the plane, Yeah, those are too too long flights.
- 13:41Speaker 1: The flight chack, worry about wan't you to take care
- 13:43Speaker 1: of yourself? It was brutal. Yeah, the flight back seemed
- 13:47Speaker 1: like half the time. Well did you sleep the whole road?
- 13:50Speaker 1: I think I slept for about half an hour half
- 13:52Speaker 1: But there was no one on the plane. So like
- 13:54Speaker 1: Zolac went back and like literally stretched out over three seats.
- 13:57Speaker 1: He must have just lit it to the whole awful
- 14:00Speaker 1: like awful farts. Yeah, oh yeah, oh, he just lights
- 14:03Speaker 1: it up like I would have opened a window if
- 14:05Speaker 1: I could open a window. Do you mind if I
- 14:11Speaker 1: crack a window? And she's like, yeah, I don't mind
- 14:15Speaker 1: at all. This is ridiculous on that plane. Maybe the
- 14:19Speaker 1: yeah rolling down. But yeah, So we'll be going out Friday.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The team will be coming into Vegas on Saturday. Now,
- 14:27Speaker 1: what happens coming back? Because the team's coming back, you
- 14:29Speaker 1: guys probably go to know, Well, they're taking two planes
- 14:33Speaker 1: because they're taking over three hundred people to this game. Patriots,
- 14:38Speaker 1: stay on the straight and narrow people. Yeah, yeah, we
- 14:40Speaker 1: had Mike and I were walking out to do TV
- 14:43Speaker 1: yesterday and some members of the marketing slash you know
- 14:48Speaker 1: event kind of set. They were asking, you know, so
- 14:50Speaker 1: you guys coming, you're coming to Vegas with us? I
- 14:52Speaker 1: was like, yeah, we got shows to do, yeah yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 1: or Raiders Raiders right, but ye, so the team is
- 15:01Speaker 1: not staying on the strip, just in case you're interested,
- 15:04Speaker 1: smart or they and Henderson where they were, No, I don't.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I don't know exactly where, but it's a nice place,
- 15:09Speaker 1: but it's on the outskirts. Yeah. Good. Yeah, I mean,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I don't really matter if you're on the strip though
- 15:14Speaker 1: you're in Vegas. You're in Vegas. Yeah, it's easy ways
- 15:16Speaker 1: to get in trouble no matter where you're staying. Yea, yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I was, yeah, just getting into the Raiders a little bit.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Looking back, it's funny just looking at what I read
- 15:24Speaker 1: wrote after um being out there and it's like the same,
- 15:28Speaker 1: it's just set the stage for what what the season
- 15:30Speaker 1: has been, talking about protection issues, inconsistencies on offense, um,
- 15:34Speaker 1: the turnovers and then I mean that this was coming
- 15:36Speaker 1: out of the preseason game. But you know, it's just
- 15:40Speaker 1: I think it's striking that they haven't they haven't made
- 15:42Speaker 1: more strides you know, it's just they haven't had a
- 15:45Speaker 1: game yet where you've mans game sometimes and even you know,
- 15:50Speaker 1: I mean even Patricia yesterday when he when they spoke
- 15:53Speaker 1: with him, he was like, he's not trying to like
- 15:56Speaker 1: he can tell. He's like, I don't know, I mean,
- 15:58Speaker 1: not this tone. But we did call things, and you know,
- 16:00Speaker 1: maybe a few weeks ago we did some things, but
- 16:02Speaker 1: now we just haven't been able to find it. So oh.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I mean that Ravens game is one of only two
- 16:08Speaker 1: games all year that they scored more than two touchdowns offensively.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And you know the other one was Cleveland and Mac
- 16:18Speaker 1: Jones didn't play in that game, you know, for the
- 16:19Speaker 1: Zappi you know, the Zappi fever guys. You know, they
- 16:22Speaker 1: scored five touchdowns in the Cleveland game, but I think
- 16:25Speaker 1: they had three in the Baltimore game. But I think,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and I keep coming back to this point. I know
- 16:32Speaker 1: sometimes I be labored these kinds of points, but I
- 16:35Speaker 1: do keep thinking about the various comments that Belichick continues
- 16:39Speaker 1: to make with regard to the turnovers, and I think
- 16:43Speaker 1: that he looks at a game like Baltimore and says, yeah,
- 16:46Speaker 1: we had some production, but at what price we never
- 16:49Speaker 1: had a chance to win the game because we kept
- 16:51Speaker 1: turning the ball over. And yeah, we could sit there
- 16:55Speaker 1: and say the production downfield passing. I think that was
- 16:59Speaker 1: the Vante Parker's best game. I think he had like
- 17:01Speaker 1: five for one fifty or something like that in that game.
- 17:04Speaker 1: He was a really dangerous weapon in that game. But
- 17:08Speaker 1: at the same time, you targeted him a couple of
- 17:10Speaker 1: times and had had interceptions mac through three in all.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I think they had a fumble in that game as well.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You can't win playing that kind of game. I would
- 17:19Speaker 1: argue that you can win playing the conservative game, and
- 17:22Speaker 1: if Evans says that they do it out in necessity,
- 17:25Speaker 1: you can beat bad teams with the conservative approach. You
- 17:28Speaker 1: can't beat good teams with the approach that they had
- 17:30Speaker 1: Monday night unless your defense is elite, which it isn't. Well,
- 17:33Speaker 1: I don't really think there's an elite defense capable of
- 17:35Speaker 1: winning games if you don't score. Yeah, like in football,
- 17:38Speaker 1: I mean, I think San Francisco was phenomenal defensively, but
- 17:41Speaker 1: if they don't score any points, they're not winning. I
- 17:43Speaker 1: mean they lost an eleven to ten game earlier this
- 17:45Speaker 1: year against the dreadfully bad Denver team. Yeah, like if
- 17:49Speaker 1: you don't score, you're gonna lose yep, yep, Yeah, then
- 17:53Speaker 1: and they would say too. The thing a little surprising
- 17:55Speaker 1: to me just not a lot of turnovers on either
- 17:57Speaker 1: side of the ball for the Raiders. I mean they're
- 18:00Speaker 1: what second overall and you know, turnovers on offense and
- 18:03Speaker 1: eighteenth on defense. I mean it has been a little bit.
- 18:05Speaker 1: They've had two in each of the last three games. Offensively,
- 18:08Speaker 1: they've had four takeaways in the last three games, but
- 18:11Speaker 1: otherwise the season, it hasn't. They've been you know, kind
- 18:13Speaker 1: of clean, not a lot of turnover. Well, we talked
- 18:15Speaker 1: about it yesterday. Um, you know, I think they're gonna
- 18:20Speaker 1: stick with Josh. But if they come out, you know,
- 18:23Speaker 1: on fire and playing hard, then Josh hasn't lost the
- 18:27Speaker 1: locker room. But if they come out listless, then then
- 18:30Speaker 1: there's a problem because if there's a game that you know,
- 18:33Speaker 1: they know they need to get up for for their
- 18:35Speaker 1: head coach, it's this one. Yeah, you know, regardless of
- 18:39Speaker 1: the record. I think to all the Patriots coaches that
- 18:41Speaker 1: that I listened to, all mentioned Waller and renfro As.
- 18:45Speaker 1: They haven't had these guys, and they're probably gonna have
- 18:47Speaker 1: them this week. So I also wonder if there's an
- 18:49Speaker 1: element of just the Raiders being like we haven't had
- 18:52Speaker 1: our we haven't had our guys, Like we got our guys. Now,
- 18:54Speaker 1: let's actually show you know what we can do when
- 18:56Speaker 1: we play together strength, you know. So I think, I think,
- 19:00Speaker 1: but I think they're gonna play hard and I'm expecting
- 19:02Speaker 1: them to to just bring to bring the offense that
- 19:04Speaker 1: we thought in the preseason that they were going to
- 19:07Speaker 1: have to bring. That. I want as many tests as
- 19:09Speaker 1: as I can get me too, you know, let's just
- 19:12Speaker 1: like I said, let's just get it over with. Let's
- 19:14Speaker 1: let's see what we've got. No, I don't want any
- 19:17Speaker 1: more excuse. You know, they won, but I hate the butt.
- 19:20Speaker 1: You know, I don't know more butts. And it's easy,
- 19:23Speaker 1: it's easy with the Raiders defense too on paper and
- 19:25Speaker 1: say there should be opportunities here. Yeah, it's not a
- 19:29Speaker 1: defense that's that's much better than the one you faced
- 19:31Speaker 1: Monday night. The only thing I would say is I
- 19:34Speaker 1: think they have a better ability to get after the passer.
- 19:38Speaker 1: With Max Crosby, I think he's a better player than
- 19:40Speaker 1: anybody in the front that that Arizona has he's a handful. Yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 1: going against probably Connor mcdermotts. It's a bad secondary and
- 19:48Speaker 1: they've had a really hard time, you know, closing out
- 19:52Speaker 1: games in protecting leads. So this is a team that
- 19:55Speaker 1: you should be able to move the ball against. Andrew
- 19:57Speaker 1: and North Carolina says Gotham City is canonically in New Jersey.
- 20:01Speaker 1: What does canonically mean? Like canon? Yeah, I know what canon?
- 20:04Speaker 1: But what does that mean? I guess anyone healer? Yeah, encyclopedia.
- 20:10Speaker 1: I'm not so stupid after all, you know, I think
- 20:12Speaker 1: I know what a cannon is one end C A
- 20:15Speaker 1: N O N. But canonically when it refers to whereas
- 20:19Speaker 1: something should be. Yeah, I mean I still remember my
- 20:22Speaker 1: first like week at holy Cross. They started talking about
- 20:25Speaker 1: like and this is the in this author's canon and
- 20:27Speaker 1: talking about like that, and I had no idea what
- 20:28Speaker 1: they were talking about. Like that was welcome to college moment.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Like what what? I don't know. I don't know who
- 20:33Speaker 1: decides that though, Like who makes the canon of city names?
- 20:37Speaker 1: Paul Paul typing away for yourself. I'm looking up Gotham City.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I want to see what it says. Yeah, I mean,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I would the only connotation of canonically, I would do
- 20:46Speaker 1: is frey like really kind of like church related, Like
- 20:49Speaker 1: I don't, I mean, I don't know. It's it's like
- 20:51Speaker 1: they're teaching, they're you know, part of their not lexicon,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but their body of work, you know. Gotham, Gotham City,
- 20:58Speaker 1: or simply Gotham's, a fictional city appearing in American comic
- 21:01Speaker 1: books published by TZ accounts the snow for Batman or
- 21:07Speaker 1: location created. Yeah, I just thought it was a nickname
- 21:10Speaker 1: for New York City always. That's well, like sometimes a
- 21:13Speaker 1: metropolis can be more than one city. It's like a
- 21:17Speaker 1: string of cities that are really close to each other.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Gotham City is traditionally depicted as being located in the
- 21:22Speaker 1: US state of New Jersey. Gotham's looking atmosphere was primarily
- 21:27Speaker 1: influenced by New York City. UM architect Hugh Ferris's designs
- 21:33Speaker 1: also influenced the look and emotional feel of Gotham City,
- 21:36Speaker 1: particularly in the later applications. Finger chose the name Gotham
- 21:40Speaker 1: as so it says New Jersey. According to wikipa, So
- 21:46Speaker 1: Gotham City and Batman is in New Jersey. That's what
- 21:49Speaker 1: it says on Wikipedia. Matt Morale earned me something. Wow, okay,
- 21:54Speaker 1: me too. Then he correct he's leaning into the Jersey too.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I guess all right? All right then, like the fact
- 21:59Speaker 1: that I apology, I just let off with the very
- 22:02Speaker 1: first sentence. Is a fictional city? I apologize, he's he's
- 22:06Speaker 1: actually giving a tip of the cap to the New Jersey.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I'm surprise you lived in New Jersey. Although it's fictional,
- 22:13Speaker 1: so I don't know why he can't just say New Jersey.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But that's all right, we're fictional. What is this geiction? Um? Okay,
- 22:21Speaker 1: so goal last night? I missed that? Sorry, go ahead.
- 22:26Speaker 1: So he's so old he doesn't have to wear a helmet?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Is that what? Um? All right? Vegas? So what are
- 22:36Speaker 1: we thinking here? I'd be feeling good, Fred, Yeah, I'm
- 22:38Speaker 1: not feeling good at all about this one. And I
- 22:40Speaker 1: and I it's a I feel like it's a must win,
- 22:43Speaker 1: and I'm just let's talk about the spot. You know, uh,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you know that's a big thing in betting. But it's true.
- 22:51Speaker 1: You know there are spots that you know, give a
- 22:53Speaker 1: team advantage or a disadvantage. What's the spot here for
- 22:57Speaker 1: the Patriots? Is it a good spot or a bad spot?
- 23:01Speaker 1: I would say it's a good spot, but I don't
- 23:03Speaker 1: really think it's a huge one way or the other,
- 23:05Speaker 1: because I think you could make arguments both ways, which
- 23:08Speaker 1: probably means it's not really. But for the Patriot's side,
- 23:11Speaker 1: they're coming off a win that they had to have
- 23:13Speaker 1: Monday night. They got to be feeling good about themselves.
- 23:15Speaker 1: They're out there for the week under I would say,
- 23:18Speaker 1: the best of circumstances. They won the game that they
- 23:20Speaker 1: had to win. Yeah, and they're playing a team that
- 23:23Speaker 1: lost a game that is absolutely inexplicable that they lost. Yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 1: I don't care what you want to tell me. Thursday night,
- 23:30Speaker 1: short week, all that crap. You lost to a guy
- 23:32Speaker 1: who was on the team for forty eight hours, right,
- 23:33Speaker 1: and you had a five minutes left, with five minutes left,
- 23:39Speaker 1: Like that's I think that's a good spot for the Patriots.
- 23:42Speaker 1: At the same time, the Raiders now had ten days
- 23:44Speaker 1: to sort of get over that. To our point that
- 23:47Speaker 1: we've been trying to make, we think the players will
- 23:51Speaker 1: sort of rally around Josh and the rest of the
- 23:53Speaker 1: former Patriot's staff and put their best foot forward. And
- 23:56Speaker 1: they have ten days to prepare for this game, and
- 23:59Speaker 1: the pay jots are on a short week. So I
- 24:01Speaker 1: don't really think it's a great spot either side. But
- 24:04Speaker 1: I think if I had to pick one, I would
- 24:06Speaker 1: say the Patriots are in a better spot because emotionally
- 24:09Speaker 1: they won and the Raiders lost. Yeah, I wonder emotionally
- 24:12Speaker 1: where the Patriots are at two? Aside from the win,
- 24:14Speaker 1: just from went to Vegas, had a couple of good practices,
- 24:18Speaker 1: didn't play great in the game, went to Miami, took
- 24:21Speaker 1: an extended break before that game, didn't play great, where
- 24:24Speaker 1: are they at mentally? Like, all right, we got another
- 24:26Speaker 1: week on the road. We're going to be outside of
- 24:28Speaker 1: our facility. We're gonna be, you know, kind of winging it,
- 24:31Speaker 1: trying to figure out, you know, where we're going all
- 24:33Speaker 1: that stuff. So I don't know. I just I wonder
- 24:36Speaker 1: if they're going to get a little bit stale being
- 24:38Speaker 1: away from the stadium, being outside of the out of
- 24:40Speaker 1: the out of the you know, the usual routine, and
- 24:43Speaker 1: winning two in a row on an extended road for tough. Yeah,
- 24:46Speaker 1: it's tough. Um injury wise, aren't they in better shape
- 24:50Speaker 1: than the Patriots? At least from what we know now?
- 24:52Speaker 1: You know, we don't know about mccordy, We don't know,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know what the Raids injury
- 24:58Speaker 1: situation is really. I mean, they've had um key guys
- 25:03Speaker 1: that have been on IR and haven't played in a
- 25:04Speaker 1: long time. I don't know what I mean, it's I mean,
- 25:06Speaker 1: it's Renfro and Waller, I think, I mean those are
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know, they've had offensive line issues. I think they've
- 25:11Speaker 1: they've settled in Illuminois, I think playing right guard for him, um,
- 25:15Speaker 1: you know, but I don't think the injuries are a
- 25:16Speaker 1: big thing for them. It's just those two guys. And then,
- 25:18Speaker 1: like I said, everybody talking yesterday, you know, Mike Paula Greeno,
- 25:21Speaker 1: that they're gonna play. They're expecting them to play, um
- 25:25Speaker 1: and they got to, you know, an up close look
- 25:26Speaker 1: at what that can look like. And I mean, I
- 25:28Speaker 1: don't think anybody needs a description of what Hunter and
- 25:31Speaker 1: Renfro is going to do in this offense as as
- 25:33Speaker 1: a player who's quicken in the middle. And I mean
- 25:35Speaker 1: I kind of do because I haven't seen it, Like
- 25:38Speaker 1: he hadn't really done anything all year. Well, I mean,
- 25:39Speaker 1: I mean I saw what they you know, I saw
- 25:41Speaker 1: some of it in camp. No, No, I know, you
- 25:44Speaker 1: I know, you know, what Josh is gonna do, Like,
- 25:46Speaker 1: I mean, this is gonna be a tough cover. You
- 25:48Speaker 1: gotta worry about two big guys on the outside. You
- 25:50Speaker 1: gotta worry about Waller, I worry about Adam. I mean
- 25:52Speaker 1: to me, it's all, it's all. That's I mean, it
- 25:54Speaker 1: all comes down to Derek Card Because Adams, it makes
- 25:58Speaker 1: it harder to cover those up the gay No, that's
- 26:00Speaker 1: that's Mike's point. You know, he's worried about Renfro in
- 26:03Speaker 1: the slot because of what Adams. But it doesn't even
- 26:06Speaker 1: matter because takes double cover Adams and still throwing the
- 26:08Speaker 1: ball and he might come up with it. So, you know,
- 26:11Speaker 1: just giving the injuries in the Patriots secondary, I mean,
- 26:13Speaker 1: even without injuries, you're probably looking at Miles Bryant in
- 26:16Speaker 1: the slot against Hunter Renfrom I do think the injuries
- 26:19Speaker 1: in the secondary are concerning. I'll say this, you know,
- 26:22Speaker 1: and offensively for the Patriots based on like the I
- 26:30Speaker 1: don't know, based on the reaction yesterday, would you be
- 26:32Speaker 1: stunned if DeVante Parker plays like he can't play after
- 26:37Speaker 1: what he did yet like calling out the league and
- 26:39Speaker 1: then you you come back like the next day, like
- 26:42Speaker 1: like on a short week could come back and play
- 26:44Speaker 1: the next game, right, Like, I don't think he can play.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I don't know what myers situation is, so that's not
- 26:49Speaker 1: ideal now it is though, Speaking of slot, do you
- 26:52Speaker 1: cope Beasley's coming out of retirement to go to the Bills? Yeah? Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 1: it's funny, like it didn't work with Tampa, but maybe
- 27:00Speaker 1: he just figures I have the comfort of knowing what
- 27:02Speaker 1: they're doing in Buffalo, so that makes it easier because
- 27:05Speaker 1: he came out. He came back for Tampa. Well earlier
- 27:07Speaker 1: in the year to first thing, is that that much
- 27:10Speaker 1: of a need for the Bill? So dude, are they
- 27:12Speaker 1: realizing that that's what's missing for us? Is Yeah, Crowder,
- 27:16Speaker 1: Crowder got hurt. They had a I think lean on
- 27:19Speaker 1: Isaiah McKenzie as a true slot guy as opposed to
- 27:22Speaker 1: a gadget guy. And he's a gadget guy, right, He's not.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I mean other than against the Patriots, he's not that guy.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Well that's what Evan said too. I mean, just that's
- 27:30Speaker 1: all he runs is just straight across diagonally across the field,
- 27:33Speaker 1: you know, not he's got He's got a lot of drops.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what his numbers are, but
- 27:38Speaker 1: he's had a hard time catching Khalil remember him, We
- 27:41Speaker 1: liked him, Yeah, he had I think he had like
- 27:44Speaker 1: one catch in the Thursday night game or something. Yeah,
- 27:47Speaker 1: I think, you know, I don't think that Cole Beasley
- 27:50Speaker 1: is the answer, but I just think it's someone they
- 27:53Speaker 1: feel comfortable with and they and they can rely on that.
- 27:55Speaker 1: They know that Josh Allen has a comfort level with.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I don't think it's a bad move. They get rid
- 28:02Speaker 1: of the other guy, Stevenson too. I think Marquez Stevenson Ques. Yeah, sorry,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I don't know. Mark quest Uh. Kristen and Houston writes
- 28:11Speaker 1: in when it comes to fandoms, cannon is the original
- 28:15Speaker 1: source material, and canonically would mean according to the original source.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I'm not a DC fan, so I can't say for
- 28:21Speaker 1: sure in this case, but I would say anything that
- 28:23Speaker 1: is found in the original comic books is canon. So
- 28:25Speaker 1: if any of the new movies make any modifications that
- 28:28Speaker 1: contradict the comic books, that's not DC cannons. So canonically
- 28:32Speaker 1: is like originally intended, right, Okay, yeah, then that's uh,
- 28:36Speaker 1: that's what I learned today. Thank you Christ. The meaning
- 28:38Speaker 1: of the word canonically, I'm not that smart all right.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It's big in Star Wars too, you know, like because
- 28:47Speaker 1: there's like novels, but those aren't in Cannon like you
- 28:50Speaker 1: know the alternate. You know they can until you know
- 28:52Speaker 1: Star Wars says they're in the same thing with DC
- 28:54Speaker 1: and Batman. Yeah, the new can come out and put
- 29:00Speaker 1: all right, we're done. I get a feeling to have
- 29:02Speaker 1: a nerd fight here in a little bit. I did
- 29:06Speaker 1: send some tone yeah, with morel which is very rare
- 29:08Speaker 1: because Matt is always under control. Yeah, unless you get
- 29:12Speaker 1: least as we've seen, unless you get them really going
- 29:15Speaker 1: Greens and Batman all right. Um, By the way, man,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I had my haircut in uh when I was in
- 29:25Speaker 1: Arizona buy a marine. Yeah, good good barber had to work.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I had like it was an old fashioned barbershop. So
- 29:33Speaker 1: I had to straight edge save the straight edge. They
- 29:36Speaker 1: even waxed my nose. Yeh, never do that. I don't
- 29:39Speaker 1: want to do that. They put wax up your nose
- 29:40Speaker 1: and pull it out, makes all your nose hair just
- 29:44Speaker 1: a little bit. It seems like something that would make
- 29:45Speaker 1: you sneeze. Definitely it didn't, but yeah it was. But
- 29:49Speaker 1: I had the whole works, you know it was good
- 29:51Speaker 1: to hot towel, everything like hotel. Yeah, I started getting
- 29:54Speaker 1: the end. You want me to do the eyebrows, just
- 29:58Speaker 1: let's go so good stuff. I like the straight edge though, Yeah,
- 30:05Speaker 1: that's good. I always have one. It always makes me
- 30:07Speaker 1: a little uncomfortable. Oh yeah, yeah, you don't want to move? No, no,
- 30:11Speaker 1: sudden my life. The last few times I've gone to
- 30:13Speaker 1: my guy and I don't really go to it like
- 30:15Speaker 1: a real barber. But go to Gena anymore? No, I
- 30:18Speaker 1: can't do that anymore. I can't substantiate the trip to
- 30:20Speaker 1: Everett Fitness. Um, but my brother still goes, so I
- 30:24Speaker 1: still get the gossip from her love Gina. She's the greatest,
- 30:29Speaker 1: was Gina. His arm would move out just a little, Gina, Gina?
- 30:33Speaker 1: Oh why did I say, Gina? No, I know how
- 30:34Speaker 1: you feel about Gina's I know that's a that's yes
- 30:37Speaker 1: in your wheel. Oh and absolutely yes it's the answer. Yeah, yes,
- 30:40Speaker 1: all right? A five high school with five five, five
- 30:43Speaker 1: hundred is the ace ticket outline now she looks twenty
- 30:46Speaker 1: younger than radio at pagris dot com. Is the email
- 30:49Speaker 1: address anything else before we hand it over to the listeners? No,
- 30:54Speaker 1: just I mean the coaches. I mean, that was that
- 30:56Speaker 1: that was the big thing. Yes to them, yea, um,
- 30:59Speaker 1: go through stuff. I mean, it's just funny, Maddie P.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Just it just seems so wide eyed, and you know,
- 31:05Speaker 1: people are I mean people are asking him direct questions
- 31:07Speaker 1: about it, and well they were all over him in
- 31:09Speaker 1: the Morning Show because you know, he was talking about
- 31:11Speaker 1: how it's okay to be passionate. We love the game.
- 31:14Speaker 1: That's fine with me. And you know, I was with
- 31:18Speaker 1: Bruski Rabel McGinnis and they were passionate, and the Morning
- 31:21Speaker 1: Show was like, how dare he say that he dealt
- 31:24Speaker 1: with them? You know, I don't think he said that,
- 31:26Speaker 1: like he dealt with that, like he witnessed it. He
- 31:29Speaker 1: was on the team when they were passionate. Patricia, Maddie P.
- 31:34Speaker 1: You know, I don't. I just think that the coach.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I mean, and I understand what the coaches are doing,
- 31:37Speaker 1: and I do not criticize their reactions to this, but
- 31:40Speaker 1: I just don't think it's I don't really know of
- 31:43Speaker 1: a lot of examples that are apples to apples with this,
- 31:46Speaker 1: Like it's not a motion, it's like that it's in subordination,
- 31:52Speaker 1: Like there's a difference and I don't know, Like I
- 31:54Speaker 1: heard a lot of people saying, like Teddy Bruski, you know,
- 31:59Speaker 1: routine I think ty Law talked about it routinely, would
- 32:01Speaker 1: change the calls and stuff like that, which can definitely
- 32:05Speaker 1: be put in You can classify that as insubordinate. Yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 1: but it's not go f yourself. I'm not calling that play,
- 32:13Speaker 1: which is basically what Mac Jones did on the field. Yeah,
- 32:16Speaker 1: he turned waved his hand and said go f yourself. Right, Like,
- 32:22Speaker 1: that's not the same thing. And I think this whole
- 32:25Speaker 1: notion of pat like set aside for a second whether
- 32:29Speaker 1: or not you agree with Mac and think that he's
- 32:32Speaker 1: been put in a round. I think we all agree
- 32:33Speaker 1: that he has, and he does deserve to be upset
- 32:36Speaker 1: about it in a lot of ways, right, we all agree. Yeah,
- 32:38Speaker 1: you can't blame him, right, I can't. Yeah, I don't
- 32:40Speaker 1: necessarily blame him. I'm just taking this at phase value.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Don't equate what Mac Jones is doing with emotion, showing emotion. Like,
- 32:48Speaker 1: you know, I heard a lot of the assistant coaches
- 32:50Speaker 1: saying things along the lines of, well, we'd rather have
- 32:54Speaker 1: that than a guy that you need to kick in
- 32:56Speaker 1: the in the ass. To get motivated. No one's talking
- 32:59Speaker 1: about motivation lack of motivation, showing emotion. This is he's
- 33:04Speaker 1: he's mocking you. He's like he's showing you up, like
- 33:08Speaker 1: he's disregarding your openly right, Like I'm not telling you
- 33:13Speaker 1: right wrong or indifferent And I'm not a huge like
- 33:15Speaker 1: he hasn't earned it. Guy, you know you and I
- 33:17Speaker 1: talked about that a few weeks ago. Yeah, Freddie, yep.
- 33:20Speaker 1: And I don't think this is the end of the world.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I think it happened the other night, and it is
- 33:24Speaker 1: an emotional game. I don't think that has to be
- 33:26Speaker 1: the be all end all for for mac Jones. But
- 33:28Speaker 1: I just don't think it's being compared properly to anything else,
- 33:32Speaker 1: Like comparing it to like Tom Brady coming on the
- 33:35Speaker 1: sideline and having an argument with Bill O'Brien. It's not
- 33:37Speaker 1: the same thing. Like they're upset about something that happened
- 33:40Speaker 1: in the game, not like just no, no, no, Mike, Mike,
- 33:43Speaker 1: keep your mouth shut. I'll do it. I'll do whatever
- 33:46Speaker 1: I want, Like he just just like just openly mocked
- 33:49Speaker 1: him and dismissed him. I just I mean, again, I
- 33:53Speaker 1: came to it late. I I just look at it
- 33:55Speaker 1: as an extension of everything we've seen from Mac, like,
- 33:57Speaker 1: this is just this is what he is. Like I don't.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I I hesitated to get into like what did it mean?
- 34:03Speaker 1: What was he talking in reference too? And all that?
- 34:06Speaker 1: Like this is just who he is. And you know,
- 34:08Speaker 1: I think that there's ways that things come off that
- 34:10Speaker 1: just I mean, it rubbed me the wrong way, Like
- 34:12Speaker 1: I don't. I mean, I don't even know if he's
- 34:13Speaker 1: waving on Maddy pe And if he is, that's fine,
- 34:15Speaker 1: but you know, I've said it before, just some of
- 34:17Speaker 1: the and I've seen the word histrionics thrown around a
- 34:20Speaker 1: little bit, and I don't know if that's a little intense,
- 34:22Speaker 1: but I don't know if there's just this's just something
- 34:25Speaker 1: about it that that Yeah. I don't like it either,
- 34:28Speaker 1: But for those people who from the beginning didn't like
- 34:30Speaker 1: the move to for Patricia Oc, this is kind of vindication, right,
- 34:34Speaker 1: or validation. I mean, it's it's right Mac Jones agrees
- 34:38Speaker 1: with you at least. I mean, it's been apparent since
- 34:41Speaker 1: since the spring that Mac Jones agrees with the people
- 34:44Speaker 1: who disagreed with this move. Yeah. Yeah, But at the
- 34:47Speaker 1: same time, I just feel like you. You you make
- 34:48Speaker 1: it fit whatever you want wherever you don't, you don't
- 34:51Speaker 1: do your best to make it. You don't. You don't
- 34:54Speaker 1: voice your displeasure like that. You do it in your
- 34:56Speaker 1: quarterback meeting, you do it in your offensive meeting, you
- 34:58Speaker 1: do it face to face in his office, you know,
- 35:01Speaker 1: but you don't do it during the game like that.
- 35:04Speaker 1: You know, we're all he just don't. Yeah, you know,
- 35:07Speaker 1: we used to make fun of Marino when he would
- 35:09Speaker 1: yell at at his receivers, and that's like half of
- 35:12Speaker 1: what Mac did, right, you know, and like to me,
- 35:15Speaker 1: like the emotions to the receivers, that's the emotion of
- 35:18Speaker 1: the game. Yeah, like I'm getting a play call and
- 35:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna you know, like no, no, no, no, yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 1: shut up like that. I don't know. It's it's very
- 35:27Speaker 1: it's very I would just say I am very tennis player.
- 35:30Speaker 1: He yes, And in terms of the entire situation, I'm
- 35:33Speaker 1: very pro Mac, as I have been in since this
- 35:36Speaker 1: whole since it all started. I just don't think that
- 35:40Speaker 1: he's done a great job of trying his best to
- 35:43Speaker 1: make it work. Yeah. I think he has said this
- 35:45Speaker 1: is dumb. We shouldn't be doing it this way and
- 35:49Speaker 1: that's it. Yeah, And I know, like you know, after
- 35:51Speaker 1: things got better, you know, they were on the sideline,
- 35:54Speaker 1: which tells me that he felt guilty. Yeah what he did? Yeah? Yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 1: do you know what I mean? Like he went over
- 36:00Speaker 1: and said I should probably hug it out? And who
- 36:03Speaker 1: more than like how many times have like I done
- 36:05Speaker 1: something or said something stupid? And I tell you, guys,
- 36:08Speaker 1: And that's why I wish I could walk that one back,
- 36:11Speaker 1: because I'm stubborn and emotional. I get it. That's why
- 36:14Speaker 1: I'm pro mac here on on this particular yeah issue,
- 36:19Speaker 1: I'm I'm pro mac. I don't know where I stand
- 36:21Speaker 1: necessarily on Mac Jones the quarterback in his future, right,
- 36:25Speaker 1: I think that's very much up in in question. But
- 36:27Speaker 1: more importantly, Steve writes in and formed Fred that nose
- 36:30Speaker 1: hairs are necessary to fight colds and clean your air filter,
- 36:33Speaker 1: so to speak. Her job don't don't pull him out.
- 36:36Speaker 1: You gotta don't pull him out. If you pull him,
- 36:38Speaker 1: you could get infected and then it's up in your nose.
- 36:40Speaker 1: And I saw that at one point. But you know,
- 36:42Speaker 1: every funny because I have it. I have some issues
- 36:45Speaker 1: with my nose that have been lingering for a couple
- 36:47Speaker 1: of months, and I wonder if it's because I don't
- 36:49Speaker 1: pull your nose heresy, because I do. I tweezed them sometimes.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Get to get one of those little, you know, a
- 36:54Speaker 1: little clippers thing that just you stick up there and
- 36:56Speaker 1: its good safety tip from Deuce. Okay, that's why I
- 37:00Speaker 1: was a little surprised. Us guys just getting whipping him out.
- 37:04Speaker 1: And Achiel in Brooklyn, says M. Paul mentioned Gotham, city
- 37:08Speaker 1: of Batman fame, is in New Jersey. This is due
- 37:10Speaker 1: to New York City also existing in the DC universe. However,
- 37:13Speaker 1: Gotham has also been used as a nickname for the
- 37:15Speaker 1: real world New York City the eighteen hundreds, which predates
- 37:20Speaker 1: the creation of Batman. So Fred, depending on how generous
- 37:23Speaker 1: you are feeling your shot at Sala is still valid
- 37:26Speaker 1: and your shot at canonically you're making mat Yeah, um
- 37:33Speaker 1: Dan and Lynchburg. How do you think Billy O would
- 37:35Speaker 1: address a QB like Mac Jones dismissing or outright embarrassing
- 37:39Speaker 1: him during a game like that? I would have been
- 37:40Speaker 1: an argument. Yeah. Would pairing Mac with Billy O be
- 37:43Speaker 1: too combustible or would it be more constructive? Tension oh,
- 37:47Speaker 1: I think he'd coach him hard like he wants. I mean,
- 37:49Speaker 1: I kind of like it. I'm not I'm not going there,
- 37:51Speaker 1: but I'm saying I like I like that dynamic because
- 37:54Speaker 1: I think Billy O would be like, STF, you go
- 37:57Speaker 1: out there and do it. I know, And I think
- 38:00Speaker 1: that that's probably what Patricia's response should have been the
- 38:04Speaker 1: other Now, it wouldn't have been like right at the time,
- 38:06Speaker 1: but when that series is over, hey, listen, I think
- 38:10Speaker 1: that would have been a fair response from Matt Patricians. Yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 1: I got the play. The play got in there late. Yeah,
- 38:16Speaker 1: I get it. Yeah, I'll let you know for the
- 38:18Speaker 1: next game that you go without a mistake, right, It's
- 38:21Speaker 1: like that's good. Now. A lot of people are making
- 38:24Speaker 1: a big deal about Mac, you know, talking about Josh
- 38:27Speaker 1: McDaniels yesterday and saying, well, you know, he really coached
- 38:29Speaker 1: me hard on the you know, last week he said
- 38:34Speaker 1: he wanted to be coach harder, and then this week
- 38:36Speaker 1: he says, well, Josh coached me hard. Is that is that,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you know valid? It is it valid to be looking
- 38:44Speaker 1: at that or is it just I think that, like,
- 38:46Speaker 1: do you think that's an accident that he's like, I
- 38:48Speaker 1: don't know. Last week said I want to be coach hotter,
- 38:50Speaker 1: and this week he's talking about how Josh coached me hard.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I mean, like you think that's an accident, it's on
- 38:56Speaker 1: his mind. Oh there it is now. I Um, I
- 39:05Speaker 1: mean I think that they coach hard here anyway. I mean,
- 39:07Speaker 1: I I don't know. Yeah, And maybe there's some wiggle
- 39:11Speaker 1: room that you know, Maddy p doesn't maybe have the
- 39:14Speaker 1: experience to to reach into and grasp when he's trying
- 39:17Speaker 1: to break those kind of things down. But um, I'm
- 39:20Speaker 1: sure there's a lot of a lot of respect. A
- 39:22Speaker 1: lot of guys saying yesterday too, I like Mayo saying,
- 39:25Speaker 1: felt like everything just kind of kind of net neutral,
- 39:29Speaker 1: net neutral, with everybody knowing each other, having practiced against
- 39:32Speaker 1: each other, and you know, just went back to the
- 39:35Speaker 1: coaches lose games, players win them. We just have to
- 39:37Speaker 1: put our guys and you know, it's not about us
- 39:39Speaker 1: versus Josh. It's about the guys versus the guys. All right,
- 39:42Speaker 1: A five five pats five hundred is the ace ticket
- 39:45Speaker 1: hut line. Um, let's go to the phone, see who's
- 39:48Speaker 1: calling us. Patty and Agawamp is on the call, what's
- 39:51Speaker 1: up guys? Anybody? So I got a quick question for uh,
- 39:57Speaker 1: for Fred and then um, a little statement about the
- 40:00Speaker 1: Raiders game. Brett Deep, No, off hand if Barmore flu
- 40:03Speaker 1: with the team, I do not know, and I don't
- 40:06Speaker 1: think he did. But I don't know that for sure,
- 40:09Speaker 1: all right. I know before the Minnesota game, i'd pose
- 40:13Speaker 1: the question on what I already knew the answer to,
- 40:16Speaker 1: who do you try and take away Dalvin Cooker? Justin Jefferson.
- 40:19Speaker 1: To me this this is sort of the same situation
- 40:22Speaker 1: with Jacobs and Davante Adams. I mean, you can't let
- 40:25Speaker 1: Adams take this game over. Hopefully they they're able to
- 40:31Speaker 1: do a little bit of everything, but if you've got
- 40:33Speaker 1: to concede one thing, I would think you would want
- 40:35Speaker 1: to concede the running game, and don't let Adams go
- 40:38Speaker 1: off for like eight catches two fifty and three touchdowns.
- 40:41Speaker 1: I don't know how they're going to do it, especially
- 40:45Speaker 1: without borrow More. I mean, they look good getting pressure,
- 40:47Speaker 1: but I don't know, man. I like you guys like
- 40:51Speaker 1: you do. So I don't have a good feeling about
- 40:53Speaker 1: this game. There's no easy answer. I mean, and you
- 40:56Speaker 1: can't even come up with something you can talk yourself into.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Thanks Pat. In terms of matching up, there's a lot
- 41:01Speaker 1: of weapons, and it's like just to me, I mean,
- 41:04Speaker 1: it might not be find a way again like it
- 41:07Speaker 1: was last week, but I think it starts with just
- 41:09Speaker 1: the past rush pressure, Like if they can just be
- 41:12Speaker 1: disruptive every time the Raiders try to pass the ball
- 41:14Speaker 1: and cause issues for their protection and shoot on and
- 41:17Speaker 1: ucha and play AFC defensive players the week Josh uch
- 41:21Speaker 1: I should say, um, you know, even Daniel Quality had
- 41:24Speaker 1: had some nice plays toward the end of the game,
- 41:26Speaker 1: like just get after him. You gotta you gotta there,
- 41:28Speaker 1: and then they're not very mistake prone. So it's, uh,
- 41:31Speaker 1: it's hard to to to come up with, oh, well,
- 41:34Speaker 1: let's just stack the box and stop Josh Jacobs or
- 41:36Speaker 1: or let's just double Davante Adam's like none of that
- 41:40Speaker 1: is like oh that that'll work. Like you just have
- 41:43Speaker 1: to kind of let them make their plays at times
- 41:45Speaker 1: and you know, counter when you have the chance to.
- 41:48Speaker 1: But I don't, I don't. I don't like the matchup.
- 41:50Speaker 1: There's just it seems like they're they're gonna come out
- 41:52Speaker 1: with you know, hey, this is what we actually are.
- 41:55Speaker 1: What we could have been this year and this is
- 41:57Speaker 1: what will be. Actually it's these are the kinds of
- 41:59Speaker 1: games that worry me because when you go in you're
- 42:01Speaker 1: sort of looking at it and you look at the
- 42:06Speaker 1: matchups and you break it down, You're like, well, how
- 42:09Speaker 1: did the Patriots find a way to win this game?
- 42:11Speaker 1: And I think the best course for the Patriots to
- 42:14Speaker 1: win this game is the Raiders continuing to self destruct
- 42:18Speaker 1: when they're in position to win games and can't figure
- 42:20Speaker 1: out a way to close it out. That's like to me,
- 42:24Speaker 1: if if if that happens again and it's the fifth
- 42:26Speaker 1: time they blow a double digit lead, then the Patriots
- 42:29Speaker 1: can win. And if it just plays out and the
- 42:33Speaker 1: Raiders play well, I think they're gonna have a hard time.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Those are the ones that worry me the most. Let's
- 42:39Speaker 1: go to William and Philham. What's up, William? Thank you
- 42:43Speaker 1: for what's going on? Hey? All right? All right? Uh
- 42:48Speaker 1: all right, Allian. Every time there's so many days I
- 42:54Speaker 1: want to say, I'm gonna just do too and I'll
- 42:57Speaker 1: call like the next dame basically, so I'll started with dudes,
- 43:01Speaker 1: was you right? I mean you've seen that at joint practices,
- 43:04Speaker 1: there's not a corner's gonna stop Devon dam. He's gonna
- 43:06Speaker 1: torture the patriots. You know that. You know it. You
- 43:09Speaker 1: ain't ain't about having a good feeling, gentleman, y'all know
- 43:13Speaker 1: you know, Well, what's gonna happen. You're gonna see You're
- 43:15Speaker 1: gonna see Johnson Jones pollt somebody's space. Man. So it's
- 43:18Speaker 1: gonna be penalties, Yeah, I know what it is. The
- 43:20Speaker 1: only hope is, like Duke says, they can get to car,
- 43:23Speaker 1: they have disrupt the time assistently. Yeah, and I think
- 43:26Speaker 1: they have to force some turnovers. Man. Yeah, Well I'm worried. Well,
- 43:29Speaker 1: I'm kind of also worried about Tyler Jones getting that mad. Yeah,
- 43:33Speaker 1: he's been a little bit better U lately. Yeah. And
- 43:36Speaker 1: Max Crosby is better than Max Crosby is excellent. Yeah,
- 43:41Speaker 1: he's been doing it all year, right, And I have
- 43:43Speaker 1: I had, well, I had one more down this one.
- 43:46Speaker 1: I have to push this a little bit more because, um,
- 43:48Speaker 1: even though y'all dude talked about this, but I just
- 43:50Speaker 1: kind of pushed this a little bit more with y'all. Okay,
- 43:53Speaker 1: so it is. I'm gonna tell you just how bad
- 43:56Speaker 1: and wide receiver for it is. I get the offensive
- 43:59Speaker 1: line is bad. It is. It's horrendous. Trent Brown. I
- 44:01Speaker 1: don't know what's going on, but yeah, he looks bad.
- 44:05Speaker 1: But I want you to know just how bad the
- 44:07Speaker 1: wide receiver is the court is. It's bad when you
- 44:10Speaker 1: got a corner that's coming on the on the offensive
- 44:13Speaker 1: side and he's better than your whole wide receiver corps.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Got none of your receivers can hymn branch out due
- 44:19Speaker 1: over us at least a thousand yards. Yeah, I mean,
- 44:21Speaker 1: it's just that bad a free agency you're gonna lose.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Let's see, you might lose Kenji born Jacoby Parson might
- 44:28Speaker 1: not want to come back, and Mike'm gonna get paid
- 44:30Speaker 1: in Welles and Nelson Nell's guard. You already know what's
- 44:32Speaker 1: gonna happen when dead. So that leaves you with what
- 44:34Speaker 1: Javonte Devonte Parker and the only guy that I know
- 44:38Speaker 1: will be back next year's Daughton. Don't forget about Trey Nixon,
- 44:42Speaker 1: the only guy I know will be back next year's daughter. Yeah,
- 44:46Speaker 1: really mean, I mean born In Parker will have a
- 44:49Speaker 1: year left in their deals. But I don't think there's
- 44:51Speaker 1: shut things and the other two are pending free agents.
- 44:53Speaker 1: You know when we talk about okay, Patricia, if he's
- 44:56Speaker 1: not there, that'll be the third OC in three years.
- 44:59Speaker 1: What if it's a whole new wide receiving corps for Mac.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I mean it's it's tough. This is what this is
- 45:04Speaker 1: what people talk about about ruining a quarterback. Yeah you know, yeah,
- 45:09Speaker 1: I mean it's a mess. Far I mean a fall
- 45:11Speaker 1: fred Dude, it's just a message. I mean, no matter
- 45:15Speaker 1: how y'all trying to explain it to us, y'all know
- 45:17Speaker 1: it's a mess. It's gonna be this, it's gonna be
- 45:19Speaker 1: going to talk about in then all season. Yeah yeah, okay,
- 45:22Speaker 1: can I ask you a question though, gentlemen? Thanks, Well
- 45:24Speaker 1: go ahead. Well I'm sure you'll still listen. I just
- 45:26Speaker 1: and I get his point about like, oh, it's it's
- 45:29Speaker 1: annoying that you have a cornerback, but like be contextual
- 45:32Speaker 1: about who Marcus Jones was, Like, I mean, he is
- 45:35Speaker 1: a punt returner. He is a like a guy that
- 45:37Speaker 1: you drafted that you're like playmaker. It's not like you
- 45:39Speaker 1: grabbed some guy who never played receiver. And I'm not
- 45:42Speaker 1: And I understand what he's trying to say. I'm just

- 45:46Speaker 1: Jones and you know, and what he's going to bring
- 45:48Speaker 1: to this team, and like I don't want to just
- 45:50Speaker 1: like put him into like him being a sign of
- 45:52Speaker 1: how everything's terrible, Like this is one guy that that
- 45:55Speaker 1: actually has some excitement around him right now on all

- 46:00Speaker 1: because I'm with you, as you know, I'm with you
- 46:03Speaker 1: on the excitement of Marcus Jones, right, and I think
- 46:05Speaker 1: we've been locked all of a sudden he comes in.
- 46:07Speaker 1: But it is a bad sci, is Yeah, they had
- 46:11Speaker 1: like like you could have Marcus Jones and the excitement
- 46:14Speaker 1: that goes along with them and a really good wide
- 46:16Speaker 1: receiver core, right, but you're still working to find ways
- 46:19Speaker 1: to get this electric player involved. Right. The fact that
- 46:21Speaker 1: you have to do with this core is a bad sign.
- 46:24Speaker 1: And the fact that he's kind of like right now,

- 56:08Speaker 1: I can't argue that, Paul Paul. I can't argue I

- 56:22Speaker 1: The other team moved the ball at will and score points,
- 56:24Speaker 1: that's all. That's not a stat. You think Green Bay
- 56:26Speaker 1: moved the ball at will from the second half on, Yes, okay,
- 56:30Speaker 1: but not the first half. They got off to a
- 56:32Speaker 1: slow start offensively in the first half. Why the Patriots
- 56:35Speaker 1: defense played well in the first half. I said, go
- 56:38Speaker 1: back and listen to and last week they put a
- 56:40Speaker 1: game together. We're both halfs they put So they're getting better,
- 56:43Speaker 1: they're getting better. You told me they got better in
- 56:45Speaker 1: the green Bay game. I think they were better in
- 56:47Speaker 1: green Bay than they were the week before, Right, yes,
- 56:51Speaker 1: they were, So they're getting better. They were, but they
- 56:53Speaker 1: weren't better than they were against Pittsburgh. Well Pittsburgh stinks, Okay,
- 56:57Speaker 1: I mean I do take something thinks that the consideration.
- 57:01Speaker 1: I think they were better than I think they were
- 57:03Speaker 1: better against green Bay than they were against Baltimore. I do, Okay,
- 57:07Speaker 1: evidence of getting better, and I think they were better
- 57:11Speaker 1: from green Bay to Baltimore. I don't think that the
- 57:13Speaker 1: Baltimore and Green Bay games. But did they get they
- 57:15Speaker 1: weren't better in the Baltimore or Green Bacon then they
- 57:17Speaker 1: were against Miami Or did they get better after Baltimore
- 57:20Speaker 1: and after Baltimore? Yes'day, and they got better after that. Right,
- 57:23Speaker 1: But they're getting better, but they got out, but they
- 57:26Speaker 1: got worse. That's another great moment from all right back
- 57:33Speaker 1: at Patriots on Filter eight five five pass five hundred
- 57:35Speaker 1: is eight ticket outline. Much like a lot of the
- 57:38Speaker 1: arguments that we have time tends to work out in
- 57:41Speaker 1: Paul's favorites. How's that green Bay defense looking now? Green
- 57:45Speaker 1: Bay hasn't scored twenty seven points in the game. Since
- 57:48Speaker 1: I was thinking of all the games this year, that's
- 57:49Speaker 1: probably the only one I could realistically say, I think
- 57:51Speaker 1: they should have gotten that one. That's green Bacon. It's
- 57:55Speaker 1: a bad team even with Zappy. I mean that's a factor.
- 57:59Speaker 1: But now I'm talking about the points they allowed. I'm
- 58:02Speaker 1: I'm a complete slack for not scoring more points. Yeah,
- 58:06Speaker 1: that's true. Like zappy, third string guy comes off the
- 58:08Speaker 1: bench in the middle of the first quarter, I'm cutting them.
- 58:10Speaker 1: All fans did not playing is He's proving my old
- 58:16Speaker 1: point of you can't judge a schedule until the end
- 58:19Speaker 1: of the season. And I've fought, and I've never really fought,
- 58:23Speaker 1: you know, I know you always think you can take
- 58:28Speaker 1: these other things too, Like right now you can look
- 58:31Speaker 1: at it and say, well, Detroit stinks, and I agree,
- 58:34Speaker 1: you got them when they stunk. Right now, the Jets
- 58:37Speaker 1: are getting him at a much different time than the Patriots.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Right so the beginning of the season. If Detroit's at
- 58:41Speaker 1: the end of your schedule, like well, that's a win. Conversely, now, conversely,
- 58:45Speaker 1: the Patriots got Baltimore in a week three, right, you
- 58:49Speaker 1: get Baltimore next week, much easier game than it wasn't
- 58:52Speaker 1: a week three, right, So it works. Both those are
- 58:55Speaker 1: the things like the reason why you know if we
- 58:57Speaker 1: sometimes you know, picker back, but yeah, if they all
- 59:01Speaker 1: those generally even out. Yeah, you know, the teams that
- 59:03Speaker 1: you played that you thought were good at the time
- 59:05Speaker 1: and then turn out to be not so good, and
- 59:07Speaker 1: then the teams that you think stunk and weren't really
- 59:09Speaker 1: impressed that turn out to be much better. Yeah, they
- 59:12Speaker 1: go they go back, and I think, but I think
- 59:15Speaker 1: everybody that had Detroit on their schedule like, Okay, that's
- 59:18Speaker 1: that's a game that we should win. We can we
- 59:20Speaker 1: talk some and I do, and I do think that's
- 59:23Speaker 1: a team. Well, we talked to like at length yesterday.
- 59:26Speaker 1: No more love going well no, no, no, okay, you
- 59:32Speaker 1: know what, I'm gonna see the floor to Mike, and
- 59:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna because Fred, I don't think you're gonna like
- 59:36Speaker 1: with my cats to say, because we talk about the
- 59:38Speaker 1: show before the show. So go ahead, Mike. You know,
- 59:40Speaker 1: as as a radio veteran, Paul, you know that not
- 59:42Speaker 1: everyone listens to every minute of every show, so we
- 59:45Speaker 1: probably have new audience today. Well, he didn't have yesterday
- 59:47Speaker 1: one AFC Defensive Player of the Week today, so it
- 59:51Speaker 1: is topical. Still, Um, I just was saying that Paul
- 59:54Speaker 1: that I hope you know we're all being cognizant of
- 59:58Speaker 1: where these stats came again and who they came against.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: And I'm look, I production is production, and like, I
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: want to say that as the baseline, but at the
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: same time, this is the first time the list last game,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: first time in josh Ucha's Curry played more than fifty
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: percent snaps in the game first time, you know, So
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I think he is what he is. I think they
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: certainly need him to continue this pace. But I also
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I'm just not you have seen but you have to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: be encouraged though. Ten sacks and six games. So Mike,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: when you say who they come against, like, what do
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: you mean? Like, I'm curious, what do you mean? You know? Specifically? Well,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: specifically is backups A lot of backups that that he's
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: been toasting and and you know, and sometimes some of
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: these are building on at the end of games when
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: you know it's kind of already decided to look and
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: I don't want to like turn this into a crusade
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: that I hate josh Ucha Um. When you were talking
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: about but you're getting tired of I'm just well, I
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: love it's a little more fun on the outside of
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: these just to watch. You're just tired of a sack anymore.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I like more when he wasn't playing um, But you know,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I just look, it's fine. I just I'm not starting
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: a parade for josh Uja just yet. And I would
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: say after I saw him talk I think it was
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Friday he did his press appearance. I went into the
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: locker room talking to our guys and was like, he
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: seems like he's gonna like break Kyler Murray in half.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Like he just seemed really focused for that whatever, very serious,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: and he had a great game. But I just I
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: want to see him do it in these last four games.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: If he does it in these last four games, I'm
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: all aboard the Josh josh uj hype train. I'm just
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: still not convinced that he's anything more than a replaceable
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: third down rusher. Yeah. I mean, you know me, I
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: got finger wag for saying that he was, Yeah, but
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: kind of emerging as a closer. Yeah, but I think
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: if you're if let's just say you're the best third
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: down rusher, like that's what you are. You know, that's great. Yeah,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I don't need him to be that. I don't need
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: him to be any more than that. I think what
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Mike's point is he went back and looked at it,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: and it is true. Like they faced a string of backups. Okay,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: and you know, Christian Deissa didn't play. He got a
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: sack off that side in the Minnesota game. It's a
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: big play. Um Deon Dawkins didn't play against Buffalo, he
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: got a sack, a big play of Josh Allen strip
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: sack coming off that side. So I think that's what
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: Mike's point is. He did what a good player should
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: do against a backup. Right now, Let's see if he
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: does it in the big when we absolutely need him
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: this week. And now I would say, and I would say,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I would much rather have the one sack against Minnesota
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: in the one sack against Buffalo that I'm just talked about,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: then the three sacks in the last five minutes last week.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: And I think Bill said it, you know after the game,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: uh in Arizona. You know they talk about, you know,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: it's encouraging to see the young guys, you know, with production.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, it is great, but you know, let's
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: see if they can do it. Yeah, day after day,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: game after game, and you know, and then we'll start
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: to look for them. Yeah. Now, I don't know if
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: he meant like we'll start to look for them more
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: or other teams will start to look That's how I
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: took it. The other teams will start to look for
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: them and know what they can do, and then and
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: then can you keep doing it? Yeah? And I would
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: throw Ucha into that group. Even though he's been around
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: a while, he really hasn't played consistently until this year. Yeah.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: And I think that this is the best production that
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: he's had consistently this stretch. I'm not talking about the
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: number of sacks. I'm talking about the number of plays
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: that he's shown up and played well. Yeah, you know,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I don't mean just to see it doesn't get on
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: cause the penalty getting kicked off the field like he
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: was early in his career, or getting hurt or getting hurt. Yeah.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I just wonder if if if you know your average
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: offensive coordining right now would tell you that what we
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: need to have a plan for him, Like I don't.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: I struggle to think that you. I mean, you definitely
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: need to be aware of Jude on and I think
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: we've seen that in recent weeks. I don't know, go
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: back and look at the tape now with Vouche, he's
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: showing some really good you know, moves going in like
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: he's fast. He played Fred I think, yeah, I mean
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: he got the anc player or the leak. You've got
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: to be encouraged. I'm encouraged, but I'm not going to
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: be surprised if he has zero sacks over these last
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: four games and they but this is what we need
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: you like, this is it. I'm okay if zero sacks,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: if all of a sudden, judeans back on the board,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: you know, or that's that's a field, that's a half point,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: and they're able to as a team, Roge to suck it.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: To me, it's more about how he plays. I want
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: to see him play if he doesn't get any sacks,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: but he you know, like yeah, like I said, the
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: best play that he made Saturday Monday night, Saturday Monday
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Night was the play that he caused the interception. No
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: sack on that play, right, that was a big play.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: If I see if I see him around the quarterback consistently,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: but he doesn't quite get there. Yeah, you know, like
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins got rid of the ball the other that
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: night effectively as as a veteran quarterback, you know, I
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: don't think he had all day to survey the field
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: all night. I think he just was a better quarterback
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: than what they normally face, certainly better than Colt McCoy. Yeah,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: he did a good job. Five five hundred. Is he
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: a ticket? Outline web radio at Patriots dot com. Let's
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: go to Nat in Santa Cruz. What's up nat? Hey, guys? Hey, hey,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: good god? Yeah. Yeah, So I'm gonna can't find myself
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: on something here. And I actually am really excited about
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Mac getting worked up and yelling at MADDIEP. So I
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: hear the insubordination parts that you guys are talking about.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: But I also saw Mac be this kind of like
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: kick the dirt, like, yeah, that's what he was doing
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: at the time. Yeah, that's basically what he was doing
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: on the field, was kicking the dirt and sulky. Yeah,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: but at least he was like angry about it. Yeah,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: you like the fire. I'd like to see a little
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: less anger and a little more production out of the offense.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: You like the fire, but you know, I think he's
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: consistently angry all year that if you were the offensive coordinator,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: would you like your quarterback during a game to tell
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: to go f yourself and shut the f up? Would
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: you want him saying that to you from Maddie's perspective, No,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I wouldn't for any of them. But every but everybody
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: hates maddiep so they're taking the quarterback at any oc.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I mean, that's just not it's not constructive. It's not
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: helping anyone when that football game. You know, I hear you, Yeah,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I hear you on that. But I also I also
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: didn't know if Mac had that angry, fiery side to him. Yeah,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: so that was a big concern going into this year
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: for me. Was right, Okay, I don't know what people
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: have been watching. I think he has that in spades.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I think he's that every game. Yeah, so you want
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: to let's just harness that. Let's harness that anger and
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: turned it into energy. Right, and if they were, if
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: he played better in the offense, was more productive. Yeah,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I dove I dove a loook it. That's it works
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: for him, Yeah, like it worked for McEnroe or Tom Brady,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: you know, yeah, yeah. I just see the types of
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: step like this was not a great the best way
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: for it to come out, but the fire is there
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: and he's no Joe Flacco. Yeah, Mike sent me an.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Another one of Mike's tech said at one thirty in
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: the morning was I don't I don't even know who
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: that was, but someone on Twitter saying that he played
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: great after that, and I was like, oh, you know,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: check staffs didn't see the greatness after that. I'm glad
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: you said that, Paul. So this is when I got
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: home and I was just I literally just pulled up
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Twitter and there's a random count I don't even follow,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: and had just had the video of it, and I
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: was like oh, and and I was like, oh, Paul,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I can't believe I just saw it. And so I
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: was just like, I'm gonna send the tweet to Paul.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: And then I like read what says below the tweet
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: and it's like really kind of glowing m mac and
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I'm like, Paul's gonna think I'm sending I'm thinking and
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Paul's gonna get so sidetracked getting mad at this guy
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: for saying Matt playing Well, I'm just trying to say,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: no video. I'm just saying I think what it is
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: is what I just said to Nat. I think that
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: people have decided that the soul problem is Matt Patricia.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: So everybody is gonna just say, right, he's right, so
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: he should be doing. There's all the great things Matt
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: can do. Look there and glimpses of it. And again,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I don't think it's the end of the world that
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Mac lost his composure and snapped. I don't think it's
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: the end of the world. Again, if they played better
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: all year and he had these occasional outbursts, I'd say,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: well it works. That's just the way he is, that's
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: the way, you know, he gets a little fiery and
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: he responds. I don't think they played better after that
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: that point. They scored ten points in the first half,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: ten points in the second half. They didn't do anything
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: really better. And the biggest play was a forty four
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: yard run. Right, I just I don't see the like
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: after that after that outburst, right, he like he ran
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: that was like a forty four yard run, and they
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: settled for a field goal, like after this outburst that
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: he supposedly responded to, do you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: where is the evidence that it was like a lot
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: of response by the offense, right I really don't want
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: to go into a comparison with Brady right now of
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: just not play but just that kind of like sideline antics,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: sideline things that Brady used to do. Brady scares me,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: and I think like when he gets mad and he
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: wants you to play better, there's just a sense of like,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: oh god, I'm really not like it's like your dad
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: is mad at you because he's earned that respect. Yeah,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: And that's and that's why I know that this isn't
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: a fair comparison and I hesitate to bring it up.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: But at the same time, I just as for me personally,
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: I just didn't really respond to how Mac handled that situation,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: and I didn't find myself saying like I want to
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: play better. I was just like, why is he whining?
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Like what is he doing? Like it wasn't and when
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: you see it with Brady and other quarterbacks, I just
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: feel like there's a sense of we aren't doing our
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: job for this guy right now, and we need to
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: pick it up and you know, and maybe I'm reading
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: way too much into this, but I just I didn't
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: get that vibe from from Mac at all and anything.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: I just I saw it was kind of annoying. And
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I'm really I'm not overreacting to, you know, a bad
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: moment like that. That's fine. I just think it's something
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: to remember and keep an eye on and watch. I
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: don't think it's something new from him, unlike Nat, like
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: you know, this is a step. I didn't know we
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: had this fire. I mean, I can give you countless
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: examples of him, not to that extent, like you know,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: directed towards, but you know, the the banging of the
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: thigh pads after bad play, like the emotion you see
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: that every game, yeah, every game from him, And even
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: if it wasn't, I see, I see a little too
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: much fire at times. I don't know which practice it was.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: It was a few practices at least into training camp
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: where we had started to at least see a trend
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: of like the offense just can't do anything. And there
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: was one particular press conference where he wasn't It wasn't
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: the demonstrative kind of hitting or pointing or anything like that,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: but it was the same energy of him of just
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: being very, very frustrated. And we'll think about it. I mean,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: we've all played sports, right, not at that level obviously,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: but we've all played sports where we had a coach
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: and I don't care like what level it is. Think
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: about what you must think of your coach that you
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: feel it's okay to say, shut the f up and
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: go f yourself. Would you have ever said to your coach?
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Maybe you've thought it, but would you have ever said
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: that to any of your coaches? Would have stun you
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: to learn that even I have never done that. Yes, no,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I've never done right right, So, like, I get it,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: that's the pros, But you have to you this is
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: evidence of something that's going on that goes far beyond
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: just being fiery in a game. This is a lack
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: of respect for your coach that didn't just manifest itself
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: in the moment. He must have felt it's okay for
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: me to say this to this guy that articulates what
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: my thought is. Yeah, like in a nutshell in this
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: this individual thing is not a huge deal to me,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: but I think what it speaks is to what Fred
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: just said. Yeah, so again, I'd love to hear the
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: story of the twenty twenty two season when it's all
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: said and done. You know, the hell of a story?
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Yeah will it? Probably not? Well, I think it'd be
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: as boring as the vast majority of the games have been.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: And the offense again wasn't really producing. It's one thing
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: like I just want to know who really thought, what
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: about whom. Yeah, you won't remember this. Fred Mike might
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: because he was a psycho fan like I was. But
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: like it was like the ninety one season, maybe the
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Dick mcpher the first Dick McPherson season with Hugh millin.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: You know, they weren't very good. That was a bad team.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I think they went six and ten. It wasn't a
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: good team, but every game was kind of riveting, Like
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: every game they either wanted at the end or had
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: a chance to win it at the end, it couldn't
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: finish it. And it was like an exciting, compelling season.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Now it was another one of those back to the
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: ESPN films, you know, the wrap up of the season
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: where Hugh milling be good and they went two and
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: fourteen the next year and you know everything everybody got
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: blown out. But this year, it's been one slog of
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: a game after the next, whether it was the Jets
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: ten to three, or the Colts game that no one
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: could move the ball, or the Bills game on the
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Thursday night where the you know, the Bills just kind
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: of kept you at arm's length all night. Boring, boring,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: boring Ravens. The Ravens game had some excitement, the Green
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Bay Bay three Bay had something exciting three many months ago,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: many moons, but the vast majority, I mean they've played
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: thirteen games now, I would say eight or nine of
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: them were kind of dull. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, let's get
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: back to the phones. Todds to North Carolina. Hey Todd, Hey, guys,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I'm curious, has is Dietrich Wise hurt? No, no, he
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: is not. On the injuries and neutralized regrets to the mean. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: I'm actually kind of positive about the defense right now
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: because I think Barnmore should be able to come back.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Is it this No, it's next week, right, No, it
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: could be this week. He's eligible today if he's even
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: out there in practice and we don't know yet. Yeah,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: I don't know if he travels. Okay, I think that
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: with Barmore and then you've got like why's hood Day
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: and Jude On that's the that's the core for your line.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: That's a that's a nice start. I'm not sure if
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: it's gonna be, you know, able to put us past
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: the bill, but it might make us competitive with saying Miami,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I well, yeah, I mean the Barma be fit will
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: be he'd be ready to play, Like, I don't know
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: how long it's gonna take him to like be football ready.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: You know, he's been out for a while, right, I mean,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: but just as avery interior pass rusher, throw him out
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: there for fifteen snaps and he can be you know,
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: give you something. I guess, I guess you know. I mean,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I'd rather have him out there, but I'm not anticipating
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: him wreaking havoc in the last month. To your point,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Freddy's done very little over the last eight weeks. Yeah,
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: And I mean, and we'll just with the defense, we'll
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: see at least four injury me right. Yeah. I think
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: it was the kind of a lingering game, like he
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: was trying to play. He had it and then he
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: played again in Cleveland, I think, and then he heard
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: it again and that was down. Yeah, and try to
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: get him right. Yeah, yeah, okay, thank you, all right,
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Thanks Todd. Go to Mark and Everett. What's up? Mark?
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: What's up? Guys? You know Aparello. Hey, did you go
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: to Colo or did you go to gg Hilton? Which
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: high school did you go to? Oh? No, no, little school?
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: And you a little kid, because I still oh I
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: went to this. I went to the Center school. Oh,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: center school. That's why I was young, calling you mister original. Sure,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: that's mister original. It's better than mister unlimited. One thing
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: about Max Jaldane, he's got no pocket because whatsoever. I
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: watched him the other day He's running from wheen pockets
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: into traffic instead of just looking down field. I mean,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: you can't coach pocketcause it yeah, yeah, it's it's Evan.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Evan pointed out a play that I was looking at,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: the one where he threw the interception. I thought that
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: he just held on to the ball just a beat
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: too long after he stepped up and avoided pressure. And
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Evan's point was, when you step up, step up hard,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: So that would have given him an extra step or
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: two to have time to hit an open Thornton, who
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: was wide open on that play. You know, has there
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: ever been a player that a guy wasn't wide open
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: that the video shows it. I mean, you know, you
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: got to give the credit. The video shows that that's
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: where he was looking. There are guys open every player.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: We know that. But but like it's hard. I know,
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: an easy thing to the guy was open if he
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: had stepped up or a little bit more faster, or
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: gott in the ball away a little quicker. That's a
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: big play. That's a twenty at least the twenty yard play.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Players a few players where the pocket was clean but
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: he was feeling unimaginary pressure. But there was one there
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: was one very blatant example of that where he sort
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: of cut inside a guy that kind of wasn't there
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: and then had to run for his life and throw
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: it away. Yeah. I do think drifting in. Yeah, okay, Mark,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, I think his his pocket was better
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: last year. I do too, And that's why I wonder.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: I mean, I clearly would look to the offense, the
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: offensive design and how you know, and I mean also
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: the trust of the protection. But it's just weird for
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: a rookie to come in and maybe, like I think
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: what we're saying kind of choking you don't know what
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: you don't know. You come from Alabama, you think every
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: quarterback gets all kinds of time, and then all of
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: a sudden, you're playing behind an inconsistent offensive line that's
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: cutting guys loose early in the season and you don't
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: trust them anymore, and then you get into your own
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: head and yeah, but I think it's I think it's true.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I think he's been, you know, drifting into pressure sometimes,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: which is just why did you go to that? Like
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: you had you had an open spot in the pocket
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: that I felt like last year he would have he
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: would have taken Aldred's in North Carolina. Hey Aldred, Hey,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: tell us, how y'all doing doing all right? Tell man,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: I don't do it pretty good? Oh yeah, they keep
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: showing it that thumb drop like every other twenty minutes
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: on NFL Network, And I'd burn, you know, because I'm like, well,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: it's bad. But then again I agree with you. Go up, Paul.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: You gotta blame both. You know, you ain't playing well
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: and you got the first time are office coordinator that
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: really don't know how to do that. So you know
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: you're gonna get some fiction because you're also missing people's
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: money and career, be honest with you. That's why I
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: worried about the off season. If Bill don't hire nobody
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: and and what you college here the old Sea. I
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: don't care who you offer a first round draft picked you.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: If they don't got a chance of winning, you know,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: they might comebody. If they're coming put the money, They're
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: just gonna play for the money. They're gonna put it,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: you know, unless you get a real offensive board data
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: or something, you know like that. But that's it. But
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: my question is, who's the six two cornerback that they
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: signed to the practice squad the other day? Is he?
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Is he a lie by or is he I know
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: he's been the league about a couple of years. Can't
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: play or what I know? Mike, Yeah, there's reason in
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: the middle of the season you're able to put him
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: on your practice Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know,
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: don't know. I'm I'm waiting for my keys, my practice
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: squad expert, because I don't go out there anymore. I don't.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: I'm not used to see these guys. Yeah, I did
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: think that they you know, they sort of switched some
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: things up at times. I thought the other night with
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: coverage because I thought Marcus Jones got caught with with
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Hopkins a couple of times and they got away with
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: it because uh, you know, the throw was too deep
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: and he was out of the back of the end zone.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: And then you saw Sean Wade um for a couple
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: of plays. I mean, I don't think Sean Wade played
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: extensively um and Marcus Jones did. But I thought that
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: was a probably a nod to the size difference with
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: with Hopkins and Marcus Jones. Uh, Sean Wade play, yeah,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: just eight, just eight playschown to Hopkins Jones. Oh on
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: the interception, Yeah, on the interception, that was a that
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: was a problem. That's why I say, oh, Jay's play.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: That's a huge play. Not only you end up causing
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: an interception, but you may very well have prevented a touchdown.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: That's true. But fellas, I have a good one, all right,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: thanks Alduh Johnson Duxbury, Hey John, Hi, gentlemen. I'm gonna
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: apologize for my voice. I've been sick. Okay, I didn't
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: get the snap Tonal say, did um a I played
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: more than uh born more stamps. I can give you
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: that right here. Same vicinity Agalore played fifty seven plays,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Borne played forty two. So yes, Agglore played ninety seven
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: percent to seventy two blocks, including the one that on
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: that Pia strong run, the forty plus run. So I
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: don't know what seems to be the problem. I don't
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: know why they wasted their time with Agli. A few
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: times he catches the ball and can't hold on to it. Yeah,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: and Bourne was much better in the game than than Agalore,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: that's for sure. Yeah, John Smith, how quickly can we
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: get rid of this guy? Complete? I don't think you
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: can do it next year unless you want to swallow
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: some cap dollars. Yeah, it is amazing, how like they
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: don't do any I would I would go. If they
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: don't think he's part of the you know, the the solution,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: then I would move on. I mean, yeah, I can't,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: but I got after this year. Yeah, I thought after
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: this year that his card fact was at the point
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: where you could get rid of him and not take
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: too much away head. I think that's Henry's but they
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: give I think it was four four years, fifty million.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: I mean it was him and judahm. We're kind of
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: the Crown Jews. I like him. Yeah, all right, great
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: talking very Christmas everybody, all right? Thanks John too? John?
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Do you think yeah, I mean, is it being talked
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: about enough that they got to make a decision on
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: Matt Jones year five? After next year? Like how big
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: next year is going to be in terms of making
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: kind of a decision you're gonna get. You're gonna get
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: two thousand twenty three price if you extend him instead
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: of two thousand and twenty five. It's just gonna be
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: a little expensive. Just I mean, just in terms of
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: sample size, Like, I mean, this is you're you're gonna
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: have to start to plan after next season a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: how you feel about Matt? You good? Yeah? And you know,
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: and I just of all his warts, and I think
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: he does that he does have warts, you know. I
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: just I still don't think he's gotten, you know, a
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: fair chance. I just hope next year he gets a
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: fair chance that you know, we at least go go
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: in feeling like he's in a better position to show
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: what he has or doesn't have. I think it's over
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: nineteen million dead cap if you cut him, he would think, like,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: you know, when they do the twenty two personnel and
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: John W. Smith's in there blocking, you know, like one
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: of those times where he blocks and then leaks out
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: and you hit him for a big play, you know,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: But like they don't even look at that he targets
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: I think. I mean, he had that one awkward kind
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: of drop and yeah, well the ball it was a
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: bad b wasn't it. Yeah yeah, yeah, But but I
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: agree with Mike. It's just don't like it looked all
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: operation anything going to him. It doesn't look But I've
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: seen him throw some bad balls to Remondre Stevenson and
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: he like reaches behind his head and catches him with
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: one hand. Yeah, you know. Ford and Save and a
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Georgia pu with Pp and Duce is brought to you
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: by Soap with a slot keep yourself clean. After listening
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: to this dirty, dirty podcast, nice, can you explain to
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: me why these spoiled fans believe getting rid of the
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: best coach to ever do it would make the team better.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: Getting rid of Brady was a mistake, Getting rid of
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Bill getting rid of Bill would be also be a mistake.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Two wrongs don't make a right. If they could do,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: if they could, could you see him going to the
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: Chargers of somewhere similar and winning a Super Bowl. Oh, Bill,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: I don't okay, I mean it's just to just hang
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: it up. You think, Oh no, I don't, right, yeah, okay,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: check out. I guess all right. I was just you know,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: this is your three I mean, you know, like, look,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: I love watching Bill Belichick. I have so much of
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: my admiration as a coach. But like you know, it's
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: just it's at a certain point you have to decide
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: how many five hundred football seasons do you want? And
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: do you are you willing to take a chance on
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: a young coach? And you know, we always bring up,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: like you know, everyone, well, who would you want if
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: I said, two years ago, I wanted Nick Sirianni? What
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: anyone has said, Well that's a good choice. You'd be like, oho,
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: what no, stupid? Yeah, but new coaches do come up. Well.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: The thing that makes it difficult with Bill is, you know,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: if you're sitting back, if you're the Crafts and you're
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: sitting back, okay, what's holding us back? What has kept
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: us from you know, being better over the last three
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: years and net and what we need to do to
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: get better. You know, even if you say, okay, it's personnel,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Well that's Bill too right, you know, and you're not
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: going to be able to say, well, Bill, we want
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: you to coach, but we're bringing in someone to pick
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: the players. It's not going to happen. So it's it's
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: it's the whole thing, and you have to decide if
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: you think. And I don't have the answer to this.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: I'm not an expert. I'm not one of these guys
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: that you know, knows better than the coaches. There's a
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: lot of media guys that know better than the coaches.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I'm not one of them. But you have to decide
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: are the schemes and whatnot? The operation what the NFL
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: is is that? Like, is that the way the NFL
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: is geared now? Is that the best way to move forward? Like,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: you have to figure those things out. Like Mike's point,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: I think he brought this up on Sunday about I mean,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: on Monday about Nick Siriani. And it's not my job
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: to identify who that next guy is. But I think
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: the need for like an innovative offensive mind that is
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: more in tune with the current concepts that are coming
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: out of college now, this is necessary and not just
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: the concepts the players who are the players, personnel, is
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: going to be an issue. But like you say this
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: all the time, Fred, nobody gets the personnel part of
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: it right all the time. But I mean mindset, like
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: these young kids, what are they like? What you know, like,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: attitude's change. I think he does all right with that, Yeah,
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: I do. I think that Bill has a seventy year
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: old guy. I think is does a better job with
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: sort of embracing the new age and technology. He said,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I have to adjust. He said that years ago. But
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: I think that he has a little bit of a
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: disdain for the college offense that he used to talk
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: about a lot, not as much anymore because I don't
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: think he talks about as much anymore because he stands
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: that this is now what's happening in the NFL, right,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: And I don't think he is as in tune with
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: it as as some others. So if you want to
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: keep him, I think you need to pair him with
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: somebody that is a little bit more in tune with it. Yeah,
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: I'm not ready to tell you that I think we
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: should move on. I just don't think it's ridiculous. Yeah,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: Like this whole notion that like he's the greatest coach
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: of all time, Yes, there's a lot of greatest coaches
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: of all time that you have to move on from,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: like like Landry and Noel and and all the rest
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: of these greas. I just I just have yet to
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: hear a realistic name right that well, I mean you'd
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: replace him one well. I think Sean Payton is a
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: realistic name that you can replace him with. You don't
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: like Sean Payton, that's fine. I think Sean Payton is
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: an excellent coach. I just think from my perspective, I've
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: kind of made peace with the GM part of it. Um,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: it's been a little bit better. It hasn't been good enough,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: but you know, it is what it is. It comes
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: with the package. I would just say, when you think
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: of this is going to be a team any sport
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: with the best coach around, what would you expect to
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: that team? And when I start to say answer that question,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: I'm seeing I'm not seeing those things in this team.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: I'm seeing a team that beats itself. I'm seeing a
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: team that can't correct penalties. I'm seeing a team that
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I'm not sure everybody's This is my point about like
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: the greatest coach is exactly what Mike is just talking
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: about Yeah, no one has a resume like Bill Belichick's.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: No one does. So if that's the be all, end all,
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: then we're never going to make a move until he
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: decides I'm not going to coach anymore. But I think
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: what what Mike is telling you is there are signs
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: that it hasn't been the same in the last three years.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: And it's not just like personnel, Like I know the
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: draft is very important, but that to me is different
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: than personnel too. Like you draft, you're gonna draft a
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: class every year, and some of those guys are gonna hit,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: some of them are not. They're going out and targeting
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: guys in free agency that are NFL players, and I
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: think for the most part get it wrong. Like they
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: still don't really want to do the money that it
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: takes to do that, which I think is antiquated because
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: the cap is rising so great that it's not as
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: prohibitive as it was fifteen years ago to waste twenty
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: million and capped dollars on a wide receiver. Instead, they
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: want to do ten million in capp dollars on two
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: wide receivers who can't play as well as that twenty
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: million dollar guy. And that's always been the way that
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: they do it, and I think it's Bill's philosophy. Yeah,
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: like it's it's you know, ponies over the horse. Another
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: piece of mind for me is getting better at the
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: end of the year. You've been coaching these this team
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: for how many months? At the end of the year
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: in November, in December, like the best coach team they're
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: gonna be They're gonna be better at the end of
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: the season than they were at the beginning. And you're
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: going on since twenty eighteen. This is four seasons now
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: where it looks worse, it gets worse. And I will
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: speak for Mike because Mike and I talk about the
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: situation a lot. We don't want to move on. We're
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: not ready to say that he can't do it anymore.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: We got to get rid of this guy. He's a dinosaur.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: I just think it's worth talking about some of these
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: other things that Mike just brought up. Those are not
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: cheap shots, like late late collapses, sloppy penalties, very inconsistent
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: special teams, all things that we used to tie to
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: the greatness of Bill Belichick. Right, the middle class, that's
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: why they win. Okay, but you know, but that those
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: things on strengths anymore? Who schools? Yeah, yeah, okay, that
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: like this is my point that I mean that that
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: illustrates my point perfectly. You're still doing it the way
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: you've always done it, but you don't have somebody that
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: you used to have. Yeah, so instead of going twelve
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: and four are better every year, you're five hundred every year.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Nate and Northeast Pennsylvania. Two questions for you guys, possible
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: conspiracy ish thought. One. We all know that Bill lays
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: into players pretty hard during film review for poor play
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: execution and other mistakes. Do you think that Bill is
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: equally as brutal on coaches in private meetings for the
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: co coaching errors or poor play calls that we've seen
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: over the last few weeks. That's the first question I
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: would say, Yes, So just out of curiosity, what are
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: the coaching errors that we've seen over the last few weeks. Oh,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: we would know what they are, but he would like, like,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: we don't really know if they are or not, but
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: he knows if they're coaching errors. Not getting the plan
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: of time. Yeah, that would be something that I think
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: he was very critical of Monday publicly. We need to
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: get the plays in on time. That's what he said. Yeah,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: I'm sure. Like so, I'm sure I'm sure that Patricia
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: heard about somebody caught heat for that. But I'm talking
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: about on the field, like like the wide receiver coach
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: isn't responsible for things that happened during the course of
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: the game in general, Like what are the coaching errors
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: that we're talking about, I don't know, communication on the
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: offensive line. I mean the coaching errors are handing the
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: ball off and the last player of the first half
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: when you're already in field goal range instead of that's
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: a build decision. Yeah, no, I'm sure, Like when he
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: says we need to coach better, he probably where you're
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: going with this though. I mean I think it's a
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: good I just like it's a good way to drill
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: down again. I know I'm a broken record, I get it,
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: But like Bill can do no wrong. Like you just
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: illustrated about fifteen different things that haven't been as great
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: the last three years as they used to be. That
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: we're Bill related, and you know we're talking about this Bill,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: you know, get on the coaches, the false starts and
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: all these things. These aren't like that's the players in him,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: Like the structure of your team is the head coach
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: and then the players not executing. Like I'm not telling
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: you that there's never been a bad play call offensively
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: or defensively, but the game plans and the way it's
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: set up. They didn't throw twelve screens the other night
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: because Maypeatrician decided that's that's what we're doing, right, is
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: my point. I guess yeah. I think to Paul's point too, like,
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: and I think back to the to the on nine
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: documentary where you actually saw Bill in the room. That's
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: where he said, you get up on Welker, you take
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: away Moss deep, and we're done, you know. But I
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: also think that there's an element of being a head
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: coach that you're in it with the assistant coaches and
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: you do have to take responsibly for him, and you
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: can't just sit there and chew out like to your
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: point pull the wide receiver coach about you know, not
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: coaching up a guy like if a guy is unprepared, maybe,
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: but you know, overall, just little in game decisions. It's players.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: That's That's a good example. If you have like a
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: backup that has to go in the game and he's
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: just woefully unprepared. That's on a position coach. Your job
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: is to get all your players ready to go. What
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: about I just don't know what you're doing. That's on
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: the coach. Well, what about like you know, um substitution problems,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: like you know, certain situations yea, and that probably preparation,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: you know, like something where you're not ready to go.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: You don't know what what's gonna who that we're gonna
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: match with their personnel if they go on eleven, we're
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: going with this like that. I think that's a that's
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: a fair thing to like. That to me is like
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: getting the play in on time. You have to get
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: your personnel groups in on time and the right ones
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: for the right situation. I still feel like Kendrick Bourne
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: needs to be utilized more. The diving sideline catch for
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: a first down the past Sunday was a sneaky clutch play.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: Last season, he was Mac's second favorite target behind Myers.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Considering the off field problems he's had with coaches, What
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: chances do you get Born being on the team next year?
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: Fifty fifty? Yeah. I mean they don't have a lot
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: of depth and I and I and I also speak
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: to Mac guys that you you don't you don't need
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: to cut Kendrick Bourne. So are you gonna upset the
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: apple cart with one more? You know? I mean like
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: he's a Mac guy. Does that mean he's gone? Like
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: it's a balancing act because you can't just say, oh,
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: Macles players x y z, we're resigning x y z.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: But you also have the balance of, well, we're gonna
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: let Jacobe walk the strength in numbers, right, if I
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: get rid of the guys that are with him, we
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: can start again new guys. Yeah, I think it's fifty fifty.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: I think the reason why I would say fifty to
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: stay that high is because of what Mike said. I
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: just think that depth is an issue, and I have
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: seen a lot of these examples over the is fred
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: We can count them, you know, whether it's high profile
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: guys like ty Law or Logan Mankins, Like you like
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: that guy's play, that guy's played his last game as
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: a Patriot. Well what did you say? So what's up Bill?
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: You know with Ty You know, like, I've seen so
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: many of these things play out, and you think there's
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: no way Bill's ever gonna have that guy back, And
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: there he is the next year, he's back. I could
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: see that with what was after on nine though, because
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I do get a little bit of an on I
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: vibe with this team. If I just can't get this
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: team to play that, I think it's a very you know,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: and I know that there was a little crew right
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: that was late for practice. I mean I think that
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: there was like a little dissension squad gy Sean Springs,
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: I think sad as well in uh the defensive lineman
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: Derek Burgess. And so they's a great memory, Paul Dayless Thomas,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: I hate you. I barely remember Shawan Springs, but Derek Burgess, Wow,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: that was I mean I think they got him like
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: maybe late in either Thomas out of the line about
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: who was and so when they got out of that
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: season though, they cut a bunch of those guys right,
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: like I mean pretty much and that was a bad
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: miss that he had. That really surprising though, Like I mean,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: Dailies Thomas was did they cut him after O nine?
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: That may have been his last year? Oh seven or
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: eight or nine? That may have been a last year. Um,
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: but that mix, No, you didn't know it beforehand, but
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: you could see it like there was games they had
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: some bad guys in that team. Brandon McGowan was a
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: bad fit. Um in that locker room, Um they had you.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: You could see it. And Fred, Fred and I and
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Andy at the time would talk about little things that
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: you'd see in the locker room. You're like, that's not Patriots,
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: Like stuff like I remember Sean Springs like just unabashedly
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: throwing and I forget who it was, but throwing the
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: safety under the bus on a play that he got
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: beat deep. Yeah, it's like looking at the guys. Yeah,
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: I was supposed to have help deep there or something
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: like that. And I was like things that you never
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: fingerplane just like this year. Yeah, like you know they
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: know our plays. I know, I'm you know what I mean,
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: the same stuff. This is still Nate. I know I'm
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: reading way too much into this, but I find it
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: curious how Mac refers to matt Patricia as Mattie P.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: I'm sure it's just a nickname type relationship they share,
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: but you don't see any other coaches referred to by
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: anything other than Coach Blank by any of the players,
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: including Mac. Is there a lack of respect for Mattie P.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: That's not true. I think I'd be more thrown off
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: if he was calling them, Matt, I think everybody i've
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: heard it calls them, calls them Maddy p. I mean
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: it gets Bill, but I think they just call Mayo Mayo, right. Yeah.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: I don't even think they call them coach. I don't
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: think that any players in general only refer to their
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: coaches as coach. I've heard them call them by names
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: for all the time I've been here. Even Bill, Yeah,
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: even Bill. A lot of times they call Bill. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: Corey Dillon. Now that's not a good example, because that
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: was disrespect. Go ask Bill. I don't give up. The
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: only guy that ever scared me in the locker room,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: like legitimately scared me from my life, Ted Washington was
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: as intimidating as they come. Corey Dillon frightened me. James
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: pettigrew the most interesting Patriots fan in the world. Rites,
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: And given the change of preseason and how much time
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: you get with the players in season, is Bill a
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: coach not able to influence players as much as he
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: did back in the day with the two Days and
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: the Giants. Yeah, it's the same with everybody. Yeah, it's
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: not like we get less than any other team. Matt
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: Light thinks that's why the league. I do think that
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: there's a point there, but I don't think that it's
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: it's you know, hampering the ability of coaches to you know,
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: put their mark on their teams. I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: I think it's I mean, I can understand the point
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: because you think your coach is better than everybody else
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: is so his lost time with the team affects him more.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: But I think you can just as easily make the
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: on our argument to that with he's better than everybody else,
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: so he shouldn't need as much time, right, And there's
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: and there's still so many so much time in the day,
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: like how much is it is actually working with the guys,
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: how much is it of coming up with it? And
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: you know, having that to be able. One of Bill's
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: strengths in the past, one of his superpowers was adjusting
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: to you know, different circumstances. And you know, so if
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: there was anyone in Bill's prime that could take a
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: change and adjust it in their favor, like find the
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: silver lining, find a way a loophole, find a way
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: to like make it work in your advantage, it would
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: be Bill. Yeah, I mean, I'd probably on that specific instance,
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: I'd probably go into a little bit of having experience
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: with a certain quarterback for a long time and knowing
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: together what to do against certain things that are happening.
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: When you have that experience with somebody, you know you
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: can reach into. I mean, we've talked about all the
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: time of hey, remember this, we did this against this,
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: and they're doing this right now, so let's go to that.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: But it's you know, it's just I think it's easy
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: just to say, well, he's the greatest coach of all time,
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: or the Patriots the greatest coach team in the NFL
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: right now. Well, yeah, I mean that's what I said.
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: If you just go by that, you'll never even contemplate
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: making any moves. And I think Robert Kraft doesn't operate that.
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: I think Robert Craft is always wondering, how can I
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: get better? Yep, Neil and New Brunswick. John O. Smith
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: charges two hundred and eighty eight thousand dollars to our
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: cap per reception this year. Next year, at his current
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: cap hit, it will be five hundred and eighty seven
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: thousand per reception. That's got to be one of the
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: worst free agent signings in the history of the NFL.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: I really hope mister Kraft still has the pulse of
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: his team's fan base. If we continue to play like
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: we did Monday, we're probably an eight and nine team
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: with furious fans who are getting tired of waiting for
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: a contender. It is not even Super Bowl or bust.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: It's just give us a team that we believe could
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: compete and be entertaining. Bill needs someone to be his GM.
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: If I had the power to change one thing about
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: this team, it would be to hire a GM, not
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: to hurt Bill, but to help him. It's actually childish
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: that Bill can't let anyone else us in his sandbox.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: What would be your one change if you had the power. Yeah,
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: I think, like Paul said, bringing bring in some young minds,
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: young you know, offensive mind that he gives you some excitement,
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: that Max found something that you know, a guy that's
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: innovative and interesting and you know, but I mean, they're
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: not going to make that guy OC So I mean
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: I'd even just be like slightly intrigued if they made
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: him the quarterbacks coach or you know, just had some
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: kind of person on this on the staff where you
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: felt like, hey, they're stocking the shelves for guys that
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: are going to be here for a little bit that
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: can develop, you know, and then I mean, you know,
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: to be honest, I mean, I want Belichick's knowledge to
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: be passed along, just not as a Patriots fan, but
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: as you know football fan, the more people that get
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: to work with him, and you know, I mean just
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: you know, going back last week, Kingsbury talking about, you know,
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: he's here a year, but he still looks at it
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: as like a year that he like learned how to
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: play football, and he said, and I grew up around coaches,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: So you know, just the amount of respect that people
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: have for you know, him and the job he's done,
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: it's uh, you know, I I am still you know,
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: aware of that, and you know, hope he can hope
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: he can pass it along to others. Christian the Cuban
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: from Charlotte, North Carolina. I was a Bill defender until
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: up to the Bill's game. I think Bill going to
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: bring back Mattie p again and still not go get
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: a stud either. I think he means is going to
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: Bill is not going to go get a stud wide receiver,
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: and he's not going to draft that stud. He doesn't
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: believe in that three years is enough for me and
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: I think a lot of the fan base and we
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: need a change if we want to catch up with
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: the league. Personally, I would love Flores to be the
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: next head coach. And ps, I think you need to
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: make another poll regarding the coach and put me down
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: for a new one. Please, Well, that would be more
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: of an offseason thing. I think Flora, like everyone thinks
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: that Flores is this great coach. I don't know about that.
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: I think Flores was overrated at Miami. Yeah as a
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: head coach, yeah right. I think he did a good job,
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: but I think we're sort of influenced by the fact
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: that he owned the Patriots. Yeah, but he didn't own
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: everybody else. Yea the problem. I mean, they lost like
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: seven in a role last year when you know bad teams.
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: They lost too along the way. So Mike got a
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: chance to answer that. I thought that the previous email
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: was excellent and Mike got a change. If you could
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: change something, you said a young, innovative, offensive mind. I
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: think that's a great suggestion to me. I have something
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: a little bit more like I guess, subjective and outside
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: the box. It's just like more along the lines of
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: what this emailer just talked about a change in philosophy
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: is to what Bill thinks you need, and like this
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: change in economic philosophy, I would say, you don't have
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: to spend more money because it's the cap. You're spending
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: the same amount of money. But that the unwillingness to
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: get the star because he costs too much and you
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: don't want one guy taken up that much. That like
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: philosophy I wish could change. Yeah, you know, I wish
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: I didn't think, well, if mac Jones pans out, we're
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: never going to give him forty million a year because
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: we don't believe in that. I wish I didn't think
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: like that, right, But that's how I think. Yeah, that's
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: what I would change. If I could change anything. Bill
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: can stay, and Bill can stay as the GM. I
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: just wish that he would be more open to the
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: economics of the changing economics of the game. Yeah, you know, Paul,
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: I was just thinking a little bit about you know,
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: and we've talked about this before, of not really having
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: respect for the college game, or you know, just maybe
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: being dismissive of that. I kind of tie it to
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: to like the defensive philosophy, where you don't really try
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: to match speed with speed. You try to get big,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: tough NFL players to beat up on these little college
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: RinkyDink systems, you know, like you know, you know what
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: I'm trying to say, Like it seems like they they
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: don't really respect it and they just want to outphysical
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: those teams, and I just don't think they can. They
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: can't anymore because of the rules. They try to fool.
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: You used to be able to do that. Like, let's
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: see if I can confute, Like I'm not gonna just
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: try to like blitz and get the quarterback off a
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: spot and do that kind of stuff. I'm not going
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: to lock up with my best cornerback anymore. You know,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna fool him. I'm gonna bait him. And then
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: you see like Colt McCoy, a journeyman stiff who's like
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: fifteen games under five hundred and a handful of games
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: that he started going up and down the field on
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: you in the first half, Like what are we doing?
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: Emerson Nolan writes in this Sunday's game against the Raiders
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: is the definition of an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: A team that physically pukes all over themselves and can't
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: keep a lead, goes up against a team that physically
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: can't play from behind a truly intriguing edge of your
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: seat showdown. Can't, for the life of me see why
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: the NFL flex the game out of prime time. Jokes aside,
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: Mike and I talked about that upstairs too, jokes aside.
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: I love Marcus Jones. I think he's been the best
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: rookie so far for the Patriots, but I want to
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: see him in punt returns, in at corner. He's certainly explosive,
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: but I don't understand why we have to have Marcus
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: going in motion across the formation and running routes at
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: receiver when they just drafted a hy receiver in the
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: second round that was supposed to be that kind of threat.
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: Why aren't they scheming up Tai Kwan to do that.
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: I know he had a few catches Monday, but they
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: don't seem to do anything different to get him in
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: space where he can be dangerous. We shouldn't need a
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: rookie cornerback stepping into that role. As exciting as he
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: may be, I'm still rooting for the Patriots to make
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: the big playoff push and to get it together, but
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: it's just so hard to watch this year. I love
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: the show and if I don't talk to you guys before,
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: then have a very happy holiday. Thank you. Yes, Can
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: I play Devil's Advocate with that Marcus Jones thing a
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: little bit? Please? What did they do to get Marcus
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: Jones in space? They put him in motion, a lot
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: of motion. How'd they get him in space? They threw
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: the ball to him. I think they've thrown it to
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: him four times so far. Right, Where did they all
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: go behind the line of scrimmage? Yeah, it's not in space?
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, So if you're doing that to Taekwon Thornton,
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: which I would argue, that's kind of what they do
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: with him. They run him on little shallow crosses and
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: you know, quick slants and whatnot. Like they haven't gotten
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: Marcus Jones's space, but Marcus Jones made something out of it. Yeah, Well,
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: like Marcus Jones, Yeah, split two guys and went forty yar.
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: I haven't seen shiftiness in Orton's game. He's a great
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: straight line runner, but he's almost like Cooks where he
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: never made anyone miss in the open lace. They've thrown
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: a couple of those little swings in bubbles to Tae
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: Kwon Thornton. He looks like, you know, and Mike and
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: I hold our breath. It looks like he's gonna get
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: broken in half. Yeah, let's go to the phones. Bennett
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: is in California. What's up, Bennett? Hey, how are you
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: guys doing good? Thanks for holding on? Uh So Belichick, Um,
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: do you think he's more concerned about his legacy as
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: far as you know, breaking that record, more concerned than
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: what what's it in comparison to you? I mean, well,
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: I mean, if you say more concerned than doing the
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: right thing for the team, No, I think I think
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: his main concern is winning and doing the right thing
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: for the team. I think so yep. I just don't understand,
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: like how you can be concerned with the record and
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: that doesn't translate to wanting to win games. Yeah. Well,
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: I mean, like, because well, everything with Brady, you know. Um, well,
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: but if he was right, if he's worried about the
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: Brady thing, he'd want to win even more to prove
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: that it's Well, I would argue, if he was completely
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: fixated on the record, he wouldn't let Brady go. Well yeah, well,
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: unless I don't know about that. I could argue about
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: on that one. Why what do you think that he
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: would have thought gave him a better chance to win
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: to that record faster if he holding onto a veteran
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: quarterback who was winning or starting over. That's the thing
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: I don't I'm not convinced that he Like, I think
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: this is going against logic Brady's career, and I think
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: every at nineteen, he's not going to keep doings. I
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: think he's like, I don't think that he thinks he
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: could have kept winning. Of course he thought in the
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: in the short term Brady would be the answer. But
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: how much longer is he going to do what he said? Right?
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: And this could be the last So if he was
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: only concerned with the record, he would have stuck with
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: the short term guarantee. Yeah, maybe this is like a
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: defensive bill, right, I know, Like, I don't think that
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: was his be all in goal. I think he's trying
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: to win games and trying to build a team. If
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: he was solely concerned with just himself, and I'm not
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: saying he doesn't concern himself with the record. He does. Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: Bennett is right. But if you just want to break
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: the record and you have a Hall of Fame quarterback
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: who's still playing. Well, yeah, you're gonna stick with that
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: as long as you can, because all I all I
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: care about is breaking this record. And when I break
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: the record, I mean Brady's gone, I'll be gone. Who cares? Right,
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: I mean, that's a better alternative than starting over with
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: a rookie. I'm trying to do the math of, like, theoretically,
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: how many more wins he could have after these three
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: seasons if he if he had had I mean, I
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: think much closer. I think he's any away right now.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: I mean you could make an argument that he'd have
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: it if he didn't move on from Brady, or at
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: least it'd be ten away. Yeah, been awesome, awesome, I'm sorry, Bennett,
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: What was the last part? Oh? No, I mean you
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: gotta think about like cowny years he has left, right,
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: you know, if he's thinking about breaking that record, it's
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: you know, it's I can go another three year, three
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: four years. Yeah, I think it's gonna be another three
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: seasons after this, more than likely. But things can change
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: real quick, you can. You know, all of a sudden,
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: they rip off thirteen wins next year and you're like, oh,
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: that's two more years seventeen wins. All right, thanks Bennett.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: Let's go to Sam in Florida. Hey Sam, that includes playoffs? Two.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: Hey guys, can you hear me? Okay? Okay, terrific. So
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: I just had a real quick fun fact I wanted
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: to share because I was re listening to the draft shows.
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: I don't really like. I don't like where youse go,
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: what they were, I don't like where these good. No,
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: it's all good, it's all good. I listened to the
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: draft shows and I realized that the question had came
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: up about why there are as trolleys on an airplane
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: when you cannot smoke on an airplane. And that answer
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: is because no, I don't think anyone's answered it since
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: that question was asked. The answer is, although it's illegal
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: to smoke on an airplane, if somebody decides to break
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: the wall and do that, they want you to have
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: a safe spot to put your cigarette out it. I
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: just thought it they were too cheap to replace the armrests. Yeah, right,
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: we designed them. This is what they It's the key
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: to plane safe, even though it's against the wall. And
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: then so my my bill take I thought really long
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: about this face, and I realized that if I were
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: the Craft so this was just my perspective as mister Kraft.
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: If we have the Cam year, the Mac year one,
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: and now the Mac year two as is winding down,
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: that will be three years of not good, not really improving.
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: Even though they were a playoff team last year. It
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: was kind of sadum. And then the way this year
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: is going. You've had three years with three different types
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: of hurdles, and if I'm craps in the first couple
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: of years, it's like, you know what, Bill, You've done
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: this for so long, Okay, I'll trust the Bill way.
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: And then and then this year we bring in Joe,
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: Judge and Patricia and it's like, dude, what are we doing?
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: Like this is worse and confusing, and we might be
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: losing players, you know what is going on? And so
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: I think, for me, I can't believe I'm saying this,
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: But if the year ends without any sign of improvement
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: or life, or we win four of the last whatever,
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: or just some type of thing that you can see
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: or measure, I think Bill's gotta go. I mean, I
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: don't know. He is the greatest of all time. And
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: if we just hang on to that forever and then
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: like Paul has sent a thousand times, but we'll never
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: let him go because he's the best. But I think
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: Mike just said he's the best of all time. But
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: are the best coach team right now? Absolutely not, and
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: they have not been for a few years. And I
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: don't really care about the Brady versus Bill argument. It's
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: just lately Bill has I think, been doing the Bill way,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: which might be posting the team's success. And when that
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: happens in my job, I get fired. When you guys
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: do that, you get fired. I think the Craft should
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: really look into what the future looks like with Bill
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: if he's not willing to budge on an offensive assistant
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: with some GM help with explaining as high as like
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: before just bringing Mattie p and it just doesn't make
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: sense to me. And that's my opinion. I appreciate you
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: guys letting me go with it, and I'll just kind
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: of take all that whole year than all the good
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: work guys that I'm stay holiday. Thanks Sam, Thanks Sam.
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: I just hope it at least seems like it comes
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: if at this word to happen that it came from Bill,
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: because I don't think it's setting up for success if
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: we all feel like, well, mister Kraft forced him to
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: get an offensive coordinator, you know, and I agree, I'm
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: just going to carry the drama right over into next season.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: All this stuff is, you know, and you want it
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: to be Bill's idea at least as you know. Can
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: you imagine the guy coming in, No, that Bill doesn't
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: want you, right, Yeah, and that this is like my
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: whole point. Like people said, like, well, if mister Kraft
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: goes to Bill O'Brien and says, you know, Bill is
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: only going to be around for another couple of years,
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: then you would be in the line to take Yeah,
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: ho's that work? Right, You're gonna be Bill Belichick with
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: You're gonna reproce nobody watched his Game of Thrones. You're
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: gonna replace me, little Finger, Right, You're gonna replace me,
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: George and Madison new Jersey writes in Sam Darnold. Since
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: coming off i R, where he incidentally grew a beard,
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: is currently two and zero with twenty six point five
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: points per game, three hundred and thirty nine yards per
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: game in a ninety three point six passer rating. I've
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: mentioned this in the past, that Mac looks like he's
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: twelve years old when he's wearing his helmet and all seriousness.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: Do you think his deep game and red zone woes
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: would improve if he grew a mustache. I don't think
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: he can. I don't think he's got the I don't
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: think he's got the jeans for the facial hair. I
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: don't know that'd obviously he's kidding around. Yeah, that's also
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: just picturing like somebody on fourly who decided to light
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: up a cigarette on a plane without any ass trays,
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: being like, you gotta put it out? Where do I
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: put it out? What? What? What? What? Where do I go?
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: But obviously I haven't. I haven't seen any ass trays
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: on it. I haven't. Don't think I have either, No,
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: but I did. I have to admit, like, if I
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: slid one, I would immediately think that's an old plane,
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: right right? Oh? Yeah, that's that's not inspiring confidence, you know. Uh, Paul,
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: I like that explanation better, Paul and Drake it. I
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: know there's hesitation rating this year's draft class given such
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: a small sample size, But what do you think of
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: the free agents we've acquired this year? Paul, has Parker
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: been about what you expected? I remember you not thinking
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: highly of the acquisition at the time and curious what
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: your thoughts are thus far. Yeah, he's been what I expected.
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: I my guess is below what you guys. I thought
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: he'd be more consistent. Yeah. Yeah, I think you've seen
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: glimpses of some of it. Like I said, I think
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: you take out one hundred and fifty yard game and
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: you don't get much. He should be your number one receiver,
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: and from from performance game to game he's not. He's not.
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: And then injury issues that Paul talked about. I mean,
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: you don't want to you don't want to dock him
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: for a concussion, but that just happened. Yeah, I'm talking
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: he missed other game injury. He missed two other games
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: for an injury, that's true. Yeah, I mean only one officially,
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: but he played one play in one. Yeah. Also interested
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: in your thoughts about Peppers both on defense and special teams.
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: In the Bills game, it looked like he was blocking
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: Marcus Jones's running lane and prevented us from returning the
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: punt for any real yard. And I haven't seen many
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: moments when he stood out. Um Now I was intrigued
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: by him early. I think he's settled in. He's fine,
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: he's fine. I didn't think a whole lot, and I
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: think he's been fine. I think he's been a good
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: depth piece. Yeah I don't. I mean, I don't think
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: he's as good as Phillips or I mean, I don't
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: think Philps has been playing as much. And I also
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: saw I think that he's playing more than Mac Wilson. Now, yeah,
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: Mac Wilson didn't play a defensive snap um last week,
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: but but I don't think they got a lot in
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: the free Again. I did see the numbers two on
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: Jugger because we kind of we talked about that a
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: little six for six and the coverage like you know, uh,
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: David and Bethlehem coach deserves criticism like Mattie P and Mac.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: But hold it, hold it. It is a symptom, not
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: a disease. No team has had more coaches poached for
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: extra credit named the coaches poached by Judge, Flores and McDaniels. No, No,
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: they've they've taken coaches when they went to be head coaches.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: We have. But I'm not going to rattle out, oh
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: you're refusing to do it. Okay, that's fair. I mean,
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: like Mick Lombardi, I mean they all took, you know,
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: Cleat Boyer, they all took. It's funny all those guys
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: who are about to get fired, but we missed them.
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: Patrick Graham is like hanging on by a thread. But
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: you can also hire guys like and that's what I
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: think is destroy is the problem is that, you know,
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: and and even guys that didn't get poached, Dante retired,
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Ivan is in quasi retirement, Ernie Adams. I mean, you know,
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: like like these guys haven't really been replaced either. So
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: you know, I think that's the bigger problem for me
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: is just that they haven't. They haven't restocked the shelves.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: They've just kind of continue to try to put more
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: on the plates of people that they've had that they
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: have here and the results aren't going well. I'm not surprised. Yeah,
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: and they have lost. To the emailer's point, they've lost
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: a lot of coaches. No sarcasm intended there, they've lost
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: a lot of coaches. Yeah, and it has to be
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: somewhat of a fact. Yes, it is, Sir ROJ from
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: Saint Louis. I'm gonna have to clean this up a
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: little bit, I hope by doing good jobs says usually.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: I agree with Fred's takes, but I wholeheartedly disagree with
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: the make it work comment. When the person you have
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: to work with is actively or accidentally sabotaging your success,
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: you have to take over the range yourself. The person
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: has lost all respect from the media, players, fans, but
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: unfortunately not the guy who hired him. The team needs
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: a top to bottom hard reset, which is a topic
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: for another time. I believe Mac will be a serviceable
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: to good player in this league, but not with this
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: team anymore. Okay, so why did you have to clean
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: that up? Was a lot of bombs in the middle
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: of that um the way he referred to a certain person.
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: Oh okay, not a map. Yeah. I just think that
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: you can question everything, but you should do the best
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: you can mentally and physically to execute it. And I
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: don't think that they've done that mentally. I don't think
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: that they're not trying on the field physically, but I
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: think mentally they're not in it. They're not they're not
- 1:58:24Speaker 1: like engaged, they haven't bought in. All Right, that's gonna
