- 0:17Speaker 1: Welcome in a jag Zam. I'm Kinannie Stevens, Brian Sexton,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and John Osier are with me. It's Week fourteen. The
- 0:22Speaker 1: Daguars are getting ready to take on the Titans for
- 0:24Speaker 1: the first time this season. They'll actually play them twice
- 0:26Speaker 1: in a month. So as we get ready for that
- 0:28Speaker 1: game on Sunday news coming out about the quarterback, We'll
- 0:31Speaker 1: start out with big things, which is shut it down.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We know the Jaguars are eliminated from postseason potential at
- 0:36Speaker 1: this point, and now we know Trevor back. Quarterback Trevor
- 0:39Speaker 1: Lawrence is going on ir after suffering a concussion against
- 0:43Speaker 1: the Texans and also dealing with that left shoulder injury.
- 0:45Speaker 1: He's going to be out at least four games, so
- 0:47Speaker 1: essentially probably done for the season. One of his teammates
- 0:50Speaker 1: speaking about it yesterday.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Now, I definitely started the trap he's embraced to, I
- 0:55Speaker 2: mean shrubs, being a competitor that he is. I kind
- 0:59Speaker 2: of love I was like, Man, I know I'm gonna
- 1:01Speaker 2: say this much, but I love you just just send
- 1:03Speaker 2: him on that field, just kind of running over and kind.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Of seeing him like that.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I feel like I've never seen that ever. I just
- 1:11Speaker 2: kind of hate that, you know, I kind of hate
- 1:12Speaker 2: that film because we're button Spurs and we're football player
- 1:15Speaker 2: a second, so I just checked up on his mental
- 1:18Speaker 2: I know everybody else's real style, and I'm just having
- 1:20Speaker 2: that he's in a better place mentally and he has.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I told him that you have a daughter, you have
- 1:24Speaker 2: a blessing that's coming, So get right, take care of yourself,
- 1:27Speaker 2: take care of your family, and we'll be here homing
- 1:30Speaker 2: down fleet and wait till you get that next year.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Friend.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We talked about this as a possibility. Not a huge
- 1:35Speaker 1: surprise to his teammates, not a huge surprise to us.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Is this the right thing to be doing at this point?
- 1:40Speaker 4: It wasn't a normal hit. It was a severe hit
- 1:43Speaker 4: with the forearm to the neck, and it had I
- 1:45Speaker 4: don't need to re cast it other than it doesn't.
- 1:49Speaker 4: The outcome requires a more thoughtful process, right, I mean,
- 1:55Speaker 4: you've got to look at him and his long term health.
- 1:59Speaker 4: You set itself the development of younger players, which is
- 2:02Speaker 4: something that we had advocated for with the shoulder. In
- 2:04Speaker 4: this case, it gives him the opportunity to recover, to
- 2:07Speaker 4: have the shoulder surgery if he chooses to, and to
- 2:10Speaker 4: get on with it and not put himself behind the
- 2:12Speaker 4: eight ball next May and June asking questions about, hey,
- 2:15Speaker 4: when will he be ready to go? He'll be ready
- 2:17Speaker 4: to go now.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah, you wonder had they been in the playoff chase,
- 2:22Speaker 5: you know, if you don't put him on ir and
- 2:25Speaker 5: two or three weeks and figure something out with him
- 2:28Speaker 5: being out of it. It felt Doug's thoughts on Monday,
- 2:36Speaker 5: you could tell they were leaning toward it, and then
- 2:38Speaker 5: on on on Wednesday's preticura is going to happen?
- 2:41Speaker 3: So right move?
- 2:42Speaker 4: Of course, you know we have an example John and
- 2:44Speaker 4: that's too a Taitler Bailoo who had that fencing posture again.
- 2:48Speaker 4: And how long did the Dolphins citium this year, you know,
- 2:51Speaker 4: four or five games and he was on injured reserve,
- 2:53Speaker 4: so the precedent was set. It seemed to be the
- 2:56Speaker 4: right thing to do. I tend to think you're right.
- 2:59Speaker 4: They probably wouldn't have done it if they were in
- 3:00Speaker 4: the playoffs. Just trying to give him a chance to
- 3:03Speaker 4: get into January. But this is just such a smart
- 3:05Speaker 4: move for the long term health of the quarterback, high
- 3:08Speaker 4: and the franchise.
- 3:09Speaker 3: And we talked so.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Much about whether he can play through injuries, yes, but
- 3:13Speaker 1: also he has to be effective out there, and I
- 3:14Speaker 1: think at this point, with both those injuries combined, he
- 3:16Speaker 1: wasn't gonna be able to be very effective. We'll go
- 3:19Speaker 1: to our second big thing today, which is motivation. You're
- 3:21Speaker 1: not in the playoff hunt, your quarterback, the starting quarterback
- 3:23Speaker 1: not available team now, So how do you stay motivated
- 3:26Speaker 1: out there? That coach Doug Peterson says that's on him, because.
- 3:29Speaker 6: That's that's up to me. That's up to me to
- 3:31Speaker 6: make sure that these guys don't, you know, throw in
- 3:35Speaker 6: a towel white the way you know, wave the white flag,
- 3:38Speaker 6: you know, So that's on me to make sure that
- 3:40Speaker 6: that doesn't happen. And I want what that happened and too.
- 3:44Speaker 6: You know, we got great leadership, you know in that
- 3:46Speaker 6: locker room, and I'll lean on those guys to.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Help me in that John.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's easier said than done. Obviously, it's on coach Peterson
- 3:53Speaker 1: to keep them motivated. But how do you do that
- 3:54Speaker 1: at this point?
- 3:55Speaker 5: Well, I think they'll be motivated and players motivate themselves.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Doug will motivate And I talked to Evin Ingram for
- 4:01Speaker 5: the ozone podcast and he assured and was very said, look,
- 4:07Speaker 5: I've been on teams that have quit.
- 4:09Speaker 3: His team's not going to quit. They won't. But it
- 4:15Speaker 3: ultra highly competitive sports.
- 4:17Speaker 5: There's a little bit at the top where you do
- 4:20Speaker 5: wonder if they'll have that from ninety nine to one
- 4:25Speaker 5: hundred Brian motivation to finish that they'll try, The effort
- 4:30Speaker 5: will be there, they will be a professional, but there
- 4:33Speaker 5: is an inner adrenaline.
- 4:34Speaker 3: When you know what it's about. When it's not there,
- 4:37Speaker 3: it'll be at least that much different.
- 4:40Speaker 4: So I talked to christ Rashard, the Jaguars defensive backfield coach,
- 4:43Speaker 4: this week, and I realized that what Doug has is
- 4:45Speaker 4: a staff full of highly motivated coaches. The motivation comes
- 4:49Speaker 4: from within for all of us. No matter what we do,
- 4:51Speaker 4: we have to want to be our best. But Doug
- 4:54Speaker 4: will create the environment in the meeting room, on the
- 4:58Speaker 4: practice field, on the airplane, wherever this team is that
- 5:01Speaker 4: the standard is still the same. That's the important part
- 5:04Speaker 4: here is that the standard is to play to a
- 5:07Speaker 4: level of performance, whether we're in the playoffs or not.
- 5:11Speaker 4: And then John, that thing that motivates these players is
- 5:13Speaker 4: the money. You're not going to get paid in this league.
- 5:17Speaker 4: If personnel, guys and coaches think that you quit, that
- 5:21Speaker 4: you're not willing when it's tough to put in the
- 5:23Speaker 4: extra effort. So it is always on tape, and kai
- 5:26Speaker 4: the tape doesn't lie, these guys will be motivated to
- 5:29Speaker 4: be their best because it's where they get their money from.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Our final big thing today is backup plan. They're going
- 5:34Speaker 1: to go the rest of the way with Mac Jones
- 5:36Speaker 1: at least to start. He started two games already, He's
- 5:38Speaker 1: played two and a half, looked better in the second
- 5:40Speaker 1: half against the Texans, so he's finally feeling more like himself.
- 5:45Speaker 7: The people that know me know, you know, I love
- 5:47Speaker 7: this game, love that fun, and I feel like I
- 5:49Speaker 7: did that times on Sunday and I'm going to carry
- 5:51Speaker 7: that to the next game here and hopefully the guys
- 5:55Speaker 7: around around me know that, I think since I've been here,
- 5:58Speaker 7: just they know when I'm in the huddle it's about
- 6:00Speaker 7: having fun and let him lose. So that's what I'm
- 6:02Speaker 7: gonna do.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Again, Ryan Max having a little fun, playing better, no
- 6:07Speaker 1: pressure on him at this point. Yes, there's no playoff
- 6:09Speaker 1: run in the future. We saw that connection Parker Washington
- 6:11Speaker 1: getting better. Is there better things ahead for him.
- 6:15Speaker 4: I think so, Doug said when I asked him the
- 6:18Speaker 4: same question. Yes, he thought so. Look to go back
- 6:20Speaker 4: to the motivation side, Mac is the perfect example. Mac
- 6:23Speaker 4: is highly motivated right now to go out and play
- 6:25Speaker 4: his best ball. He would like to get another contract
- 6:29Speaker 4: as contract ends this year the Jaguars did not pick
- 6:32Speaker 4: up the fifth year option. Whether it's here in a
- 6:34Speaker 4: supporting role or somewhere else hoping to get a chance
- 6:37Speaker 4: to play. Mac is highly motivated to play his best
- 6:41Speaker 4: football these final five weeks. Now, if it works out,
- 6:45Speaker 4: the way he performs on the practice field, in the
- 6:47Speaker 4: meeting rooms, the way he communicates with his teammates, we'll
- 6:50Speaker 4: give him an opportunity to get the best from them
- 6:53Speaker 4: as well. So I'm excited to watch Mack then the
- 6:56Speaker 4: next five weeks, and primarily John because of the way
- 6:59Speaker 4: he played in the fourth court. His first two performances
- 7:02Speaker 4: against the Vikings and Lions did not leave a lot
- 7:05Speaker 4: to feel good about, but the fourth quarter last week did,
- 7:08Speaker 4: and so from that perspective it should be entertaining maybe
- 7:11Speaker 4: interesting as well.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Yeah, he showed signs of life. The offense showed and
- 7:15Speaker 5: signs of life. That's our storyline now, so Mac Jones,
- 7:19Speaker 5: all the people we've been talking about, Mason Smith, Ordine Jefferson,
- 7:22Speaker 5: all of these veterans playing for their futures, rookies playing
- 7:28Speaker 5: for the future. That's the storyline. I think Mac Jones
- 7:31Speaker 5: will play better they did the first two games.
- 7:34Speaker 3: That's what we're gonna.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Watch, all right.
- 7:36Speaker 1: We talked a lot of Jacks. We'll talk a little
- 7:37Speaker 1: bit about the Titans coming up after the break right
- 7:40Speaker 1: here on Jags am sad If this Flori is trusted
- 7:48Speaker 1: and reliable moving company, set is proud to be the

- 7:53Speaker 1: guaranteed quote, visit sutteth dot com. Slash Jacks Suduth sponsoring
- 7:59Speaker 1: are on an outlook TODA. We're gonna look at the Titans.
- 8:01Speaker 1: We haven't played them yet this year, which is kind
- 8:03Speaker 1: of crazy to play them twice at this late in
- 8:05Speaker 1: the season twice in a couple of weeks here, So
- 8:08Speaker 1: we're heading to Nashville on Sunday, and Doug talked a
- 8:11Speaker 1: little bit about Will Levis. We've been talking about the
- 8:13Speaker 1: young quarterbacks in the division, and he's talked about what
- 8:15Speaker 1: he's seen from Will Levis so far.
- 8:18Speaker 6: For him young quarterback is in the fact that he's playing,
- 8:21Speaker 6: you know, and and getting the bulk of the getting
- 8:25Speaker 6: the bulk of the reps and just he's got a
- 8:28Speaker 6: he's got a really good arm. He's athletic, you know,
- 8:33Speaker 6: and you know, you go back and just watch obviously
- 8:38Speaker 6: the three games they won, but there's a lot of
- 8:41Speaker 6: games that you know, he's had that team in position
- 8:44Speaker 6: to win much like us and and you know, so
- 8:48Speaker 6: very similar situation, but he continues to improve. I think
- 8:52Speaker 6: he's a great leader on that team. You see that,
- 8:55Speaker 6: and uh, you know somebody that two can you know
- 8:59Speaker 6: he can he can throw the ball, you know, down
- 9:02Speaker 6: the field. You got to get an arm strength, so
- 9:04Speaker 6: you know something you got to you gotta be special
- 9:06Speaker 6: aware of.
- 9:08Speaker 1: The Tennessee's in a similar position. Obviously, they're you know
- 9:11Speaker 1: three and nine or three and three, three and nine
- 9:13Speaker 1: at this point in the season two and ten, So
- 9:16Speaker 1: when you're going up against a team that's kind of
- 9:18Speaker 1: dealing with a similar issue. Obviously, will Love has missed
- 9:20Speaker 1: some games due to injury this year, but they're still
- 9:22Speaker 1: trying to figure out exactly what they.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Have at quarterbacks.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So that's something potentially you can take advantage of we
- 9:27Speaker 1: know he likes to throw the ball, interceptions, forcing turnovers.
- 9:30Speaker 1: That's going to be the way to win. I would have.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Mentioned I had a scout tell me that he is
- 9:34Speaker 4: a Josh Allen style player. Now he's not the talent
- 9:37Speaker 4: level of Josh Allen, but he is a big guy
- 9:40Speaker 4: who loves to put the ball way down the field,
- 9:42Speaker 4: and it sets up everything they do. Giving him Calvin
- 9:47Speaker 4: Ridley gave them the chance to really throw the ball
- 9:49Speaker 4: deep because you can see the underneath stuff is not fat. Yeah,
- 9:54Speaker 4: it's not. It's not really what he does all that well.
- 9:57Speaker 4: And of course they're adapting to an entirely different offensive scheme.
- 10:00Speaker 4: John gone through the days of number twenty two, pounding
- 10:03Speaker 4: it up in the middle, bringing the safety to the
- 10:05Speaker 4: line of scrimmage, and you just bomb it over the top.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I'm still worried about Derek Henry in this game. I
- 10:15Speaker 5: still think he'll be a factor somehow. Look to me,
- 10:18Speaker 5: Will Levis makes this game very interesting in the sense that, look,
- 10:24Speaker 5: Mac Jones is not gonna be the Jaguars quarterback next year.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Maybe the backup, but he's not gonna be the guy.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Will Levis very much in the last five games of
- 10:31Speaker 5: this season, is still playing so that that franchise can
- 10:35Speaker 5: figure out what he is if he's their future. They're
- 10:37Speaker 5: also playing under a first year head coach, which means
- 10:40Speaker 5: every player on that roster knows this is what it
- 10:43Speaker 5: is going forward if I want to be a part
- 10:44Speaker 5: of it, So they still feel like they have more
- 10:47Speaker 5: to play for than the Jags.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I think it makes it.
- 10:49Speaker 5: I think it makes it a really tough matchup on
- 10:51Speaker 5: the road.
- 10:52Speaker 3: They haven't given up on Will Levis.
- 10:55Speaker 5: He has shown signs in the last couple of weeks
- 10:58Speaker 5: of maybe still developing into the guy we've sort of
- 11:00Speaker 5: been there before in the past, right of sort of
- 11:03Speaker 5: not quite knowing.
- 11:04Speaker 3: That's why they are with Levis.
- 11:06Speaker 5: So this team and Will Levis still is.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Sort of grasping for something real, I think.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So. I think it makes some dangerous and it's a
- 11:14Speaker 1: coach that's come in. As you mentioned, Will Levis was
- 11:16Speaker 1: there before, it's not necessarily his guy trying to work
- 11:18Speaker 1: that out as well. So when we look at the
- 11:21Speaker 1: defensive side of the football, some big guys over there,
- 11:23Speaker 1: that's probably the most talent that they have on this team,
- 11:26Speaker 1: and Doug Peterson talked about.
- 11:27Speaker 6: That it's a it's a it's a zone scheme, you know,
- 11:31Speaker 6: a lot of until you get to third down. They'll
- 11:33Speaker 6: make some man coverages on third but really all eyes
- 11:37Speaker 6: on the quarterback, all eyes on the football, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 6: and they do a great job of just kind of
- 11:42Speaker 6: being where they need to be. And but again it
- 11:46Speaker 6: starts up front. They're very disruptive upfront. You know, Landry's
- 11:49Speaker 6: another one that can get after the pass or they can.
- 11:52Speaker 6: They can play with five down, they can play with
- 11:53Speaker 6: four down. Mix their fronts pressures, timely pressures, and it
- 11:58Speaker 6: just disrupts the timing of the of the quarterback receiver.
- 12:01Speaker 6: And that's what they do well.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Right. Offensive line gonna have their work cutout.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Forms man an't tell you. You know it's in Chris
- 12:07Speaker 4: Jones and Kansas City and Miles Garrett and Cleveland are
- 12:10Speaker 4: a step above everyone else in the National Football League
- 12:13Speaker 4: in terms of their disruptiveness, the way that they can
- 12:15Speaker 4: dominate a game. But I love Jeffrey Simmons. I just
- 12:18Speaker 4: watching him the last couple of years. You see he's
- 12:20Speaker 4: got the size, he's got the length, he's got the quickness,
- 12:23Speaker 4: and he plays the game like it's supposed to be,
- 12:25Speaker 4: played intense from snap to snap. I've seen him in
- 12:29Speaker 4: this series dominate the interior of the defensive line so
- 12:33Speaker 4: that nobody could do anything. If he gets that done,
- 12:36Speaker 4: they win on Sunday.
- 12:38Speaker 5: It's a tough matchup for the Jags because, as we
- 12:42Speaker 5: talked about ad nausea on the show, the thing that
- 12:44Speaker 5: the Jags struggle with when you get to third and two,
- 12:47Speaker 5: third and one, picking that up.
- 12:49Speaker 3: He makes it very difficult to pick it up.
- 12:51Speaker 5: The Titans are really good on the interior, so that
- 12:55Speaker 5: is a place where the Titans' strength plays into the
- 12:58Speaker 5: Jaguars weak and if that can be tough to overcome.
- 13:00Speaker 4: And they added the massive kids, the Devontre Smith Sweat
- 13:04Speaker 4: Seat Sweat from Texas. He's huge and he's raw, but
- 13:08Speaker 4: he's so big that you can't you can't just put
- 13:11Speaker 4: one guy there and say, well, can you move him?
- 13:12Speaker 4: I mean, so those two guys Sweat is making Simmons
- 13:16Speaker 4: even better.
- 13:17Speaker 1: It's gonna be something to watch for sure. And of
- 13:19Speaker 1: course Calvin Ridley. We even barely get to him because
- 13:21Speaker 1: I mean, he hasn't had as much of an effect
- 13:23Speaker 1: as I think maybe some of us might have thought
- 13:25Speaker 1: when he got there, but that's because the offense has
- 13:27Speaker 1: struggled so much in Tennessee.
- 13:28Speaker 4: And I remember John, we talked about it last year
- 13:31Speaker 4: in training camp a twenty twenty three. At training camp,
- 13:34Speaker 4: we watched Calvin Ridley line up against Tyson Campbell and
- 13:38Speaker 4: we thought, well, this would be a fun matchup to
- 13:40Speaker 4: watch for years to see it. Yeah, for a long time.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Well now we're gonna see it. Well, if Calvin, I'm sorry,
- 13:45Speaker 4: if Tyson plays, because he's on the injury report this
- 13:47Speaker 4: week with a quad injury. It'd be a big test
- 13:50Speaker 4: for Tyson to step up.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I was amused.
- 13:53Speaker 5: I was told that Calvin had said it, had circled
- 13:56Speaker 5: this game on his calendar.
- 13:58Speaker 3: They tried to pay him. Yeah. I like Calvin.
- 14:03Speaker 5: He doesn't do well this week, and I wondered though,
- 14:10Speaker 5: why they would be anger.
- 14:11Speaker 4: I remember now sat with Calvin in a production meeting
- 14:16Speaker 4: in Dallas last year and sat down said Calvin, how
- 14:18Speaker 4: are you? And he looked at me and says, you
- 14:20Speaker 4: know how good I am, don't you? And I said no,
- 14:24Speaker 4: we're gonna find out. All right, that's just Calvin. He's
- 14:27Speaker 4: just a different dude. So I'm I'm anxious to see it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Sure, it'll be fine, It will be all right, saylst.
- 14:32Speaker 1: We're going to talk a little bit about some changes
- 14:34Speaker 1: that have been going on, some new faces in the building.
- 14:44Speaker 1: The Fields Bird, Jacksonville's premier luxury auto group. You can
- 14:47Speaker 1: head over to Fields Auto dot com check him out.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Welcome back into jags Am. We're talking a little bit
- 14:55Speaker 1: about some changes around the building because we should mention
- 14:58Speaker 1: the running backs. Coach got a new position now, the
- 15:00Speaker 1: head coach, Jury Mac at Kinnesaw State. That came out
- 15:03Speaker 1: about halftime of the game on Sunday, but that was
- 15:06Speaker 1: his last game. He's gonna coach with the team. And
- 15:08Speaker 1: Travis Dn talked a little bit about the effect Coach
- 15:10Speaker 1: Mac has happen on the teams.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Yet, UH Coach Mac meant a lot. I feel like
- 15:15Speaker 2: Coach Mac has helped everybody get and growth from UH
- 15:18Speaker 2: Deurn to UH Keelan. Uh no matter where you were,
- 15:21Speaker 2: No matter where you were, UH you better from knowing
- 15:23Speaker 2: Coach Mac. And UH we just bet at football players.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Uh a high k h i q is much more
- 15:28Speaker 2: higher just being with Coach Mac. And he's always a
- 15:30Speaker 2: phone call away. That's a good thing.
- 15:31Speaker 5: About it.
- 15:32Speaker 2: We uh live in such a technology savvy world.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Uh we need coach Mac. He an answer.
- 15:36Speaker 2: The phone picked up, so uh great for that we
- 15:38Speaker 2: don't lose that connection. Glad we was able to build
- 15:40Speaker 2: a connection. And we just gotta find a way to
- 15:43Speaker 2: keep pushing him because he he isn't here and we
- 15:46Speaker 2: can't really harp on that. We just have to find
- 15:47Speaker 2: ways to in order to be our best self.
- 15:49Speaker 1: For Sunday, we saw some Travis not having his best year.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Tanks been having a great year.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I think a lot of that.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Has been the confidence and in that room during Mac
- 16:00Speaker 1: came from Tennessee and now going back to the head
- 16:02Speaker 1: coach in college four so going off to do that
- 16:04Speaker 1: again but against more change in the resture story.
- 16:08Speaker 4: He missed his opportunity to be on the Jaguars pregame
- 16:10Speaker 4: radio show. This was the week I was going to
- 16:11Speaker 4: talk to Jerry Matt.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You know, I'm sure that was all the new coaches.
- 16:14Speaker 4: On defense and all these guys. You know, I grab
- 16:16Speaker 4: a guy every week based you know, situationally, quarterback change,
- 16:19Speaker 4: who's healthy, matchups, all that stuff. And I hadn't got
- 16:22Speaker 4: to Jerry Mac and I heard he took the job
- 16:23Speaker 4: and it went Jerry, you missed your chance. Good for him, congratulations.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Kanosa State has been a nice program in the past
- 16:29Speaker 4: and it's sitting there on the north side of Atlanta.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Hopefully he can turn that into a nice small Was
- 16:35Speaker 4: that a mid major success story?
- 16:38Speaker 5: I trust Travis that he was a good coach and
- 16:40Speaker 5: I wish him what Yes.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Some other changes we've seen and we now have two
- 16:43Speaker 1: Jacksonville legends as quarterbacks on this roster. John Wofford as
- 16:47Speaker 1: signed to the practice squad this week and talked a
- 16:49Speaker 1: little bit about being back home.
- 16:52Speaker 8: I've known Map, I've trained with back a little bit.
- 16:55Speaker 8: Great dude works hard, respect his game, expect how he
- 16:59Speaker 8: approaches a game, and so it's good to be around him.
- 17:02Speaker 3: And obviously had a small one.
- 17:04Speaker 8: Would both end up back in Jacksonville Bulls and.
- 17:07Speaker 2: A BK got me in the same quarterback run right now?
- 17:10Speaker 8: I know, did you ever beat balls when you're high school?
- 17:13Speaker 5: Said?
- 17:13Speaker 8: We never played each other, so he said that we
- 17:16Speaker 8: were scared of them. I think it was another way around,
- 17:17Speaker 8: but that's on how you ask.
- 17:21Speaker 3: John.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Perhaps we need to talk to Jean, But who was
- 17:23Speaker 1: a better in high school? Who's better? You know?
- 17:26Speaker 5: That sort of post dates my high school coverage. So
- 17:29Speaker 5: I they're both really good. Mac joked that what really
- 17:37Speaker 5: through for tons of yards? Yeah, and I was around when.
- 17:40Speaker 4: I saw the game numbers high where he there was
- 17:43Speaker 4: like eight hundred yards or a thousand yards of offense
- 17:45Speaker 4: and the game was a playoff game and it was
- 17:47Speaker 4: like seventy seven to seventy six. I don't know if
- 17:50Speaker 4: my kids weren't at Bishop Kenny at that point, but
- 17:52Speaker 4: he it's one of the most explosive offensive outputs in
- 17:56Speaker 4: Florida high school playoff history. So but Nack went to
- 18:00Speaker 4: Alabama and won a national championship and played at bowls
- 18:03Speaker 4: and one state championships. It would have been fun to
- 18:06Speaker 4: watch this too.
- 18:07Speaker 5: If only I had played quarterback, you could have completed
- 18:10Speaker 5: the triumphor and had an episcopal kid up there.
- 18:13Speaker 3: It's too bad, go eat all right.
- 18:17Speaker 4: It was the final thing we heard from Jari and Jones.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Obviously he got kicked out of that game, but no
- 18:22Speaker 1: internal punishment, as Doug Peterson says, he didn't think it warranted.
- 18:25Speaker 1: That hasn't got his fine letter just yet. Obviously came
- 18:29Speaker 1: to the defense of his quarterback, but he said more
- 18:31Speaker 1: than anything. He really just wants to win.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I want to win.
- 18:34Speaker 9: I mean, I mean, you can I'm not really here
- 18:37Speaker 9: for more of Victoriason like that. I mean, you can
- 18:40Speaker 9: say it brought us together, but I want to win,
- 18:44Speaker 9: you know, so, I mean, if we cannot fight and win,
- 18:49Speaker 9: I'm gonna take that ten times out of tea.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I think we'd all take that too.
- 18:54Speaker 4: But Unsad was if I have to fight to win,
- 18:58Speaker 4: I'll fight to win. And I kind of like.
- 19:00Speaker 5: And as rookie seasons go on, you get to know
- 19:04Speaker 5: these guys a little bit, right, and there's a lot
- 19:06Speaker 5: of good kids in the rookie class. He's a really
- 19:08Speaker 5: likable kid, and he's a really mature kid. I talked
- 19:11Speaker 5: to him the on the ozone podcast right when he
- 19:13Speaker 5: got drafted.
- 19:14Speaker 3: You still want to give guys a little time to
- 19:16Speaker 3: get to know him.
- 19:18Speaker 5: He's really smart, really aware, and he was asked about
- 19:21Speaker 5: the fight and that's what he said, Well, it was
- 19:25Speaker 5: just a case of you being in the wrong place
- 19:26Speaker 5: at the wrong time, and he was like, I don't
- 19:28Speaker 5: want to be so naive like I was in there
- 19:31Speaker 5: a little bit, but you know, I'm saying that to
- 19:34Speaker 5: make the point of it was exactly the right balance, right,
- 19:37Speaker 5: Like he went in, he understood what was going on.
- 19:39Speaker 3: I gotta defend my quarterback, Brian.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Character Wise, it feels to me like he's the kind
- 19:45Speaker 5: of kid you can build around all forward.
- 19:47Speaker 4: He's a tempo center, right, he's a culture center. And
- 19:50Speaker 4: hopefully he's a good enough player because you have to
- 19:52Speaker 4: be able to play. He's pretty good, yeah, yeah, but
- 19:54Speaker 4: hopefully he's the guy that is that vibe on the
- 19:58Speaker 4: how do you how to put it? Because he's clearly
- 20:00Speaker 4: not Jayalen Ramsey even though he played in Florida State.
- 20:02Speaker 4: But you know, Jalen had that bad boy vibe when
- 20:04Speaker 4: you play. Yeah, and so he's got that in him,
- 20:08Speaker 4: it appears, and hopefully he's a good enough player to
- 20:10Speaker 4: get it done. I love the kid, and you say
- 20:12Speaker 4: he's smart, He is smart, smart enough that by the
- 20:15Speaker 4: time he looks at his paycheck stub and sees the
- 20:17Speaker 4: you know, fifteen eighteen thousand dollars, he's gonna be docked.
- 20:19Speaker 4: He won't come off the sideline and throw a punch again,
- 20:22Speaker 4: just in case you don't know, that's why he'll be
- 20:23Speaker 4: fine coming off the sideline getting involved with the fight.
- 20:27Speaker 1: All right, To stay with us. We'll talk a little
- 20:28Speaker 1: bit about what's coming up the rest of the week
- 20:30Speaker 1: and what we're expecting.
- 20:30Speaker 3: A yess the.

- 20:49Speaker 1: welcome you back. It's week fourteen. The Jaguars are heading
- 20:51Speaker 1: to Nashville this week. It is not always been a
- 20:53Speaker 1: fun place to play for the Jaguars as of recently,
- 20:56Speaker 1: but is this the week?
- 20:58Speaker 4: Ryan, I'm gonna say yes. I'm gonna say yes because
- 21:01Speaker 4: at some point, something has to go right for this
- 21:02Speaker 4: team this year, this week, and if it isn't this week,
- 21:05Speaker 4: then I'll say it next week. Yes, I think Listen
- 21:07Speaker 4: John said it. It's a first year coach, They've got
- 21:09Speaker 4: a young quarterback who's still trying to figure things out.
- 21:13Speaker 4: I think Mac Jones played good football in the fourth
- 21:16Speaker 4: quarter and I think he keeps it going. And I
- 21:17Speaker 4: think the Jaguars find a way to get it done
- 21:19Speaker 4: in Nashville and have something positive happened for the first
- 21:23Speaker 4: time since October.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I think positive happens later. I think this is
- 21:27Speaker 5: a tough matchup for the reasons I said. It wouldn't
- 21:30Speaker 5: be surprised if they win, but it would be an
- 21:34Speaker 5: impressive win considering the circumstances. It wouldn't impress for many
- 21:38Speaker 5: people because the season's disappointing.
- 21:39Speaker 3: But it would. It would be a heavy lift to do.
- 21:41Speaker 1: It, all right, Well, we'll be there. We'll be back
- 21:43Speaker 1: on Monday to recap whatever happens there. Enjoy game time
- 21:47Speaker 1: this week and we'll see you on Monday.
