- 2:40Speaker 1: you in vans.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Now, before we get into this rewind recap, there was
- 2:47Speaker 1: some news, yes that was dropped today about Coyote Pass honey,
- 2:53Speaker 1: why don't you tell the people about it?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Well, apparently all of the plots on Coyote Pass have
- 2:58Speaker 2: sold wow, which is crazy. Yeah, and you would drop
- 3:02Speaker 2: this in our chat and I didn't even see this.
- 3:04Speaker 2: But apparently it was sold to a couple, yes, but
- 3:08Speaker 2: it doesn't say who it was.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it is not Robin and Cody, though, thank god,
- 3:13Speaker 1: it is some other couple. I think that one of
- 3:17Speaker 1: them is an actual broker, so there may be an
- 3:21Speaker 1: intent to develop this land, which I know Cody wanted
- 3:24Speaker 1: to do, but of course he didn't do because he
- 3:27Speaker 1: never follows through of course, not with anything. But it
- 3:30Speaker 1: is a couple.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and apparently they profited total all four plots being sold,
- 3:36Speaker 2: they profited six hundred and ten thousand.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yes, because they purchased all of the plots on Coyote
- 3:43Speaker 1: Pass for I think a total of like eight hundred
- 3:45Speaker 1: and thirty thousand dollars. With the sale of these four
- 3:49Speaker 1: plots in the year of Our Lord twenty twenty five.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I think it's like a one point five million dollars sale.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And so yeah, it's like a six hundred and ten
- 3:58Speaker 1: thousand dollars profit or something like that, which means each
- 4:01Speaker 1: individual gets. I can't do mass.
- 4:03Speaker 2: One hundred and fifty two thousand allegedly right if they
- 4:07Speaker 2: split it evenly.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Which I think they will, I think according to the
- 4:11Speaker 1: ownership records, they'll have to hope. So, but like then
- 4:15Speaker 1: Mary and Janelle are going to have to pay their attorneys.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I assume Cody and Robin also had to acquire attorneys
- 4:22Speaker 1: and will have to pay that. They'll have to pay
- 4:24Speaker 1: like taxes. I know, like when you sell your home
- 4:27Speaker 1: you have to pay capital gains taxes or you have
- 4:31Speaker 1: to roll it over into the next purchase. And so
- 4:34Speaker 1: because Cody and Robin have already purchased their new McMansion,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think that means they're going to have to be
- 4:40Speaker 1: taxed on the sale of this property.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Oh god.
- 4:44Speaker 1: And it also doesn't take into consideration the amount of
- 4:47Speaker 1: taxes they were paying each year that they held this land,
- 4:52Speaker 1: which I would assume came out of the family LLC.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And I think Nikki Haverstock reported that it was like
- 4:58Speaker 1: sixteen or seventeen thousand dollars a year in property taxes.
- 5:02Speaker 2: That cannot be I mean that is a ton well
- 5:04Speaker 2: for all of that land. Yeah, I guess, I mean
- 5:06Speaker 2: it's a lot. Yeah, so it makes sense.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And I think they've had it for like nine years
- 5:11Speaker 1: something eight eight years. They've had it for quite some time,
- 5:14Speaker 1: so like if it's it's a round up to twenty thousand,
- 5:17Speaker 1: and they've had it for eight or nine year, like,
- 5:20Speaker 1: they've paid a lot out just in the property taxes.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So I mean, I'm wondering how much profit they actually make.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But at least Mary and Janelle are getting something.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Well, it seems like it's officially done. So thank god
- 5:34Speaker 2: we don't have to hear about Coyote Pass next season.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm so over but of course we are.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Well ask my question too, do we think that they're
- 5:42Speaker 2: going to wrap up this sale of Coyote Pass in
- 5:45Speaker 2: these final five or whatever episodes of season nineteen or
- 5:48Speaker 2: are we going to have to address the whole dang
- 5:51Speaker 2: thing in season twenty. That's what I'm worried about. I mean,
- 5:54Speaker 2: if we don't wrap it up this season, we probably
- 5:57Speaker 2: will talk about it next season. I just hope that
- 5:59Speaker 2: it's not for the tire season twenty because if it's
- 6:03Speaker 2: literally all of this like back and forth then lawsuits
- 6:08Speaker 2: and all this stuff, I mean, yeah, it's interesting, but
- 6:10Speaker 2: like it's annoying to get it a year or two
- 6:13Speaker 2: later after it already happened. It'd be nice to wrap
- 6:15Speaker 2: a bow on and now and get it done with.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Maybe we'll talk about it and then tell nothing. M hmm, doubt.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I doubt it, because, like the sales were final yesterday
- 6:24Speaker 1: or today, and I don't know, if you've got an
- 6:27Speaker 1: outsider who's purchasing the property, whether they would be willing
- 6:30Speaker 1: to time the drop of that sale or the announcement
- 6:32Speaker 1: of that sale, like perfectly with the release of the
- 6:35Speaker 1: second half of this season. It feels like this is
- 6:38Speaker 1: about around the time when they actually did sell the
- 6:40Speaker 1: property and close on it, right, So I honestly think
- 6:43Speaker 1: we're gonna get it in season twenty. I think we're
- 6:45Speaker 1: also going to get to Ada Farms. I think we're
- 6:48Speaker 1: gonna get Christine in her second Airbnb, and I hope
- 6:52Speaker 1: we'll get some of the lawsuits stuff and the book
- 6:54Speaker 1: stuff from Christine. But we're I think we're gonna be
- 6:56Speaker 1: with Coyote Pass for quite some time.
- 6:59Speaker 2: So tired of hearing about it. Fortunately well, speaking of
- 7:02Speaker 2: Tata Farms, apparently Madison I think posted on Instagram today,
- 7:06Speaker 2: I guess they're having problems with permitting with the farm
- 7:10Speaker 2: and like starting a garden, so her and her husband
- 7:13Speaker 2: have to like do their garden in their backyard at
- 7:15Speaker 2: their house because they can't do anything with Tayata Farms
- 7:19Speaker 2: because of permitting issues. And I'm just like, so you
- 7:22Speaker 2: bought all of this property and then like didn't know
- 7:25Speaker 2: about the permitting issues, Like, I don't.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Know, why wouldn't you have checked that out before you
- 7:29Speaker 1: purchase this particular property. Maybe it's just like a regulation
- 7:33Speaker 1: that there's something that they have to go through and
- 7:35Speaker 1: it's just going to take some time and then they
- 7:36Speaker 1: will get it. Are you saying that they're never going
- 7:38Speaker 1: to get the permits?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Well no, Allegedly she commented to somebody and said that
- 7:43Speaker 2: they knew that they were going to have to get permits,
- 7:44Speaker 2: which is fine, but they just didn't know it was
- 7:46Speaker 2: going to take this long and be this complicated. So,
- 7:49Speaker 2: in true Brown fashion, not thinking anything through, barreling in
- 7:53Speaker 2: and just going in head first with no knowledge into
- 7:56Speaker 2: this and it's a little bit difficult. So I hope
- 7:59Speaker 2: that they get it all figured out, because that would
- 8:00Speaker 2: be really terrible, terrible if they bought all of this
- 8:04Speaker 2: acreage and bought this whole farm and they can't develop
- 8:07Speaker 2: it and they can't do anything with it that would
- 8:09Speaker 2: be wild. But they're literally tearing up their whole backyard
- 8:13Speaker 2: and turning it into a tree farm, and like.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And Maddie's home, their little colonial house, their little acreage there,
- 8:22Speaker 1: they're making it a huge taking it into a tree farm.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I guess, or like a garden. I don't know, God,
- 8:27Speaker 2: but they like plowed the entire thing, removed all of
- 8:29Speaker 2: the grass, which I mean is cool. But I'm like, wow, okay, wow,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I did not know that.
- 8:36Speaker 1: That's very interesting as well. You've got your raccoon finger
- 8:39Speaker 1: on the pulse, Thank you, honey. Awesome? All right, is
- 8:43Speaker 1: there anything else that we need to discuss before we
- 8:45Speaker 1: get into the rewind recab?
- 8:47Speaker 2: I don't think so. This episode was lit this week.
- 8:50Speaker 1: There was so much here. We were eating the trash
- 8:53Speaker 1: and it was good. So again we are on season six.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I think this was episode ten.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yeah, entitle polygamist marriage therapy.
- 9:03Speaker 1: We meet Nancy the therapist, We go to Sajonah. Yeah, there's
- 9:07Speaker 1: this little thing with Leon and going to Westminster, which
- 9:11Speaker 1: we'll also talk about. But yeah, the whole thing was
- 9:14Speaker 1: very revealing and I can't wait to get into it.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Start us up, bitch.
- 9:17Speaker 2: As it was juicy. We got right into it with
- 9:20Speaker 2: like a little bit of a counseling session with Nancy
- 9:23Speaker 2: right off the bat. It's kind of like their first
- 9:26Speaker 2: interaction with her because they used to have a therapist
- 9:29Speaker 2: in Utah named Pat that they saw for like five
- 9:32Speaker 2: years and she was really great apparently, but now that
- 9:36Speaker 2: they're in Nevada, they can't see Pat because she doesn't
- 9:38Speaker 2: practice in Nevada. So Pat found Nancy for the Browns,
- 9:43Speaker 2: but she's never worked with a polygamist family before, shocker.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Which makes Robin very suspicious. So she doesn't very she
- 9:52Speaker 1: feels unsafe, Veryancy, you don't know because we're polygamists here. Yeah,
- 9:56Speaker 1: so yeah, she's a little nervous about it.
- 9:57Speaker 2: That was so annoying this whole episode. Yeah, for talking
- 10:00Speaker 2: about how she can't trust the therapists because they don't
- 10:03Speaker 2: know polygamy, I'm like, you barely know polygamy.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Right, You've only been living polygamy here for a couple
- 10:08Speaker 1: of years, even though I guess your mom was a mistress.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Or something exactly. Like.
- 10:13Speaker 1: She's also so judgmental of this monogamist therapist who I
- 10:18Speaker 1: feel is showing up in good faith and really wants
- 10:20Speaker 1: to help the family. Yeah, and she's just like, well,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I don't know if I can trust her. She's got
- 10:25Speaker 1: a long way to go to earn my trust. I'm like, okay, Robin,
- 10:27Speaker 1: but you expect everybody at the expos though to accept
- 10:31Speaker 1: you and to be okay with your lifestyle, but you
- 10:34Speaker 1: have such a hard time with Nancy's. Make it makes sense.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's because Nancy is a therapist and would actually dive
- 10:39Speaker 2: into the root issues of everybody in the family, and
- 10:42Speaker 2: Robin doesn't want that exposed. No, because she's the issue.
- 10:46Speaker 2: She's the problem. But it's interesting because they open the
- 10:50Speaker 2: episode talking about like how a lot of polygnist families
- 10:53Speaker 2: don't actually seek therapy because they're worried about the therapists
- 10:56Speaker 2: pointing to polygamy as the issue and the root cause
- 11:01Speaker 2: of all the family's dysfunction, which it's like, it is, yeah, objectively,
- 11:06Speaker 2: it is. But they saw Pat for many years. They
- 11:09Speaker 2: really liked her. She helped a lot with the family apparently,
- 11:13Speaker 2: And so now they're starting things with Nancy, and Nancy
- 11:16Speaker 2: starts off with a personality test.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Well, before we get there, it does sound like when
- 11:21Speaker 1: Mary is providing context around Pat, that it was Cody
- 11:24Speaker 1: and Mary together that originally went to Pat for therapies
- 11:30Speaker 1: that they could learn how to communicate with one another
- 11:32Speaker 1: because they were having issues in their particular union. And
- 11:35Speaker 1: then at some point it sounds like, I mean, I'm
- 11:37Speaker 1: inferring that they then started to bring in Christine and
- 11:40Speaker 1: Janelle and the whole family unit, but it was Mary
- 11:43Speaker 1: and Godi that went in with the initial issue.
- 11:46Speaker 2: That's what the subtext was. It was very interesting. They
- 11:49Speaker 2: didn't really talk about that, but we're sniffing there, yes,
- 11:54Speaker 2: for sure. And then they also, like Cody mentions how
- 11:58Speaker 2: a lot of therapists are feminists and how feminists don't
- 12:02Speaker 2: like their.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Lifestyle because it exploits and abuses women. Hello, yeah, that's why.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Very interesting.
- 12:09Speaker 1: So he's a little concerned about that. But back to
- 12:10Speaker 1: the personality test, and like, the only thing I'm thinking
- 12:13Speaker 1: about as I'm watching this is how Robin said last
- 12:17Speaker 1: season or whenever it was, that she never took a
- 12:19Speaker 1: personality test, and if somebody took a personality test, they
- 12:23Speaker 1: did it on her behalf without her permission. And here
- 12:28Speaker 1: we have her in season six in the therapy session, yep,
- 12:32Speaker 1: with her own pad of paper and pen, taking that
- 12:36Speaker 1: damn personality I know, and.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Literally reading aloud some of the questions on the personality
- 12:41Speaker 2: test with everybody else in the room, like it's documented, Robin,
- 12:45Speaker 2: you alaijah. And then Cody says something really interesting here,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and he echoes this throughout the episode where he talks
- 12:51Speaker 2: about his worries with Nancy and how he's worried that
- 12:55Speaker 2: Nancy will say that he's the only one that has
- 12:57Speaker 2: to self improve and none of these other wives need
- 13:01Speaker 2: to do anything to improve themselves. He's worried that he'll
- 13:03Speaker 2: have to do all of the work or he'll be
- 13:05Speaker 2: pointed out.
- 13:05Speaker 1: To do, well, what did you think of that?
- 13:07Speaker 2: M That was total narc behavior, because I feel like
- 13:14Speaker 2: he probably was called out in other therapy sessions. But
- 13:17Speaker 2: then he like works this around in his mind, thinking like, well,
- 13:21Speaker 2: but it's not just me though, it's everybody else, and like, yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 2: that's true on its surface, like, yeah, it does take
- 13:27Speaker 2: two to tango, it's not just Cody. Like the wives
- 13:31Speaker 2: do have to kind of sure give their effort, of course,
- 13:34Speaker 2: but I feel like in Cody's brain, he's interpreting that
- 13:38Speaker 2: as like I don't have to improve.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Though yeah, it did come across that way, but to me,
- 13:44Speaker 1: it kind of felt like this was him mask off
- 13:47Speaker 1: saying something like, I don't want to do all of
- 13:50Speaker 1: this work. I'm getting super tired of having to manage
- 13:53Speaker 1: all of these wives and all of their petty relationships
- 13:57Speaker 1: and how they cannot get along with each other. They
- 13:59Speaker 1: all come to me. They expect me to be the
- 14:01Speaker 1: middle person to mediate their issues, and I don't want
- 14:04Speaker 1: to do that anymore. I'm getting tired, which is exactly
- 14:06Speaker 1: what he's saying. Honestly. Oh yeah, in season sixteen, seventeen, eighteen,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and nineteen, he's over it. He's done with it. But
- 14:13Speaker 1: we can take it all the way back to season
- 14:14Speaker 1: six because previous to this, when they're getting into the
- 14:17Speaker 1: call to Sacks and when they're renting the homes and
- 14:20Speaker 1: they're in LEI, we don't really hear him say this.
- 14:23Speaker 1: He seems more than happy to try and manage his relationships.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But something has happened, is what I think I'm trying
- 14:28Speaker 1: to get to. Like the way Mary is so close
- 14:31Speaker 1: to tears throughout the entire episode, the way that Robin
- 14:34Speaker 1: is showing up kind of angry and super protective and
- 14:38Speaker 1: shielding Cody from any criticism. I'm like, what's going on here?
- 14:42Speaker 1: But I think there's some fighting that's taking place between
- 14:45Speaker 1: Mary and Robin and Janelle and Christina. I'm not sure
- 14:47Speaker 1: how that's happening, but something is happening. Did you get
- 14:50Speaker 1: that vibe too?
- 14:51Speaker 2: Oh? Totally, And I totally got the vibe that Cody
- 14:54Speaker 2: was like getting tired of having to manage all of
- 14:57Speaker 2: this and getting tired of having to be the common
- 15:00Speaker 2: denominator and even talks about that later in the episode.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Will get there when we have everybody positioned in the
- 15:06Speaker 2: orbit of Cody. But yeah, it was really interesting to
- 15:09Speaker 2: kind of hear him talk about this, like he doesn't
- 15:12Speaker 2: want to have to manage the relationships. He doesn't want
- 15:14Speaker 2: to have to do all of the emotional heavy lifting
- 15:17Speaker 2: because he feels like he has to do all of
- 15:19Speaker 2: that in the family, which I'm just like, dude, you
- 15:22Speaker 2: can't have it both ways. Like it's crazy how he's
- 15:25Speaker 2: saying all this in season six and then in season sixteen, seventeen,
- 15:29Speaker 2: eighteen nineteen, he's like bitching about having to be the
- 15:32Speaker 2: patriarch and like needing control, and how they don't let
- 15:35Speaker 2: him have control. So it's like, what do you want.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Do you want to be the patriarch or the family.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Do you want everybody to obey you? Or do you
- 15:45Speaker 2: not want to have to do all at work? Just
- 15:46Speaker 2: step back and let the women fight each other and
- 15:49Speaker 2: deal with it.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like there's a portion of what
- 15:52Speaker 1: he is saying that is valid. I feel like there's
- 15:54Speaker 1: a lot of infighting with the women, and I think
- 15:57Speaker 1: that he doesn't know how to mediate that, he doesn't
- 15:59Speaker 1: know how to control that, and he's just getting tired
- 16:01Speaker 1: of it because nothing that he's trying is working. I think,
- 16:04Speaker 1: from my intuition that a lot of this stems around
- 16:08Speaker 1: Mary and Mary's fundamental inability to communicate in a way
- 16:12Speaker 1: that is not brutal, which we'll get back to when
- 16:15Speaker 1: we talk about the personality test, because in it, it
- 16:18Speaker 1: is revealed that she is a truth teller and it's
- 16:21Speaker 1: very important to her that they operate in truth, but
- 16:24Speaker 1: that she may have a shadow aspect that causes her
- 16:28Speaker 1: to speak the truth in a way that is unkind
- 16:30Speaker 1: and maybe even ostracizing and isolating to others, which I
- 16:34Speaker 1: think is very true. Of Mary, and also, by the way, Leon,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I think they both share that personality trait, And so
- 16:41Speaker 1: I think Cody has spent at this point twenty twenty
- 16:45Speaker 1: five years trying to figure out Mary's emotional compass and
- 16:50Speaker 1: trying to sift through her communication to find what she's
- 16:54Speaker 1: really trying to say underneath all the bluster and potential
- 16:59Speaker 1: abuse that comes along with her communication. And I think Mary,
- 17:03Speaker 1: at this point this is just what I'm picking up,
- 17:05Speaker 1: has hurt a lot of this feedback, which is why
- 17:08Speaker 1: we have a Mary at this point who's constantly walls up.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well this is stupid, right.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I don't know if it's safe for me to actually
- 17:15Speaker 1: tell you how I feel. And I struggle a lot,
- 17:18Speaker 1: And she even says I struggle a lot figuring out
- 17:20Speaker 1: how to say the thing in a way that's not
- 17:22Speaker 1: going to offend somebody else, which means she's been offending people.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, But she's also like in a family of
- 17:30Speaker 2: people who don't want to tell the truth, Like people
- 17:32Speaker 2: who don't say how they really feel, don't actually share
- 17:35Speaker 2: their real opinions, like most of the time it's passive
- 17:39Speaker 2: aggressive crab. Like even Cody doesn't know how to communicate,
- 17:42Speaker 2: and he talks about that in therapy. He's like, Yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 2: I struggle with communication. I need to improve on that.
- 17:47Speaker 2: So I kind of feel for Mary a little bit
- 17:49Speaker 2: in this episode of like being somebody who is prone
- 17:52Speaker 2: to wanting to tell the truth but like can't seem
- 17:55Speaker 2: to ever get it out in a way where somebody
- 17:57Speaker 2: isn't offended. And then she has all of these relationship
- 18:00Speaker 2: ships and personalities that she has to contend with, like
- 18:02Speaker 2: maybe she says something in a way that offends Janelle
- 18:04Speaker 2: but is receptive to Christine like vice versa, and then
- 18:08Speaker 2: dealing with Cody on top of that. So I don't know,
- 18:11Speaker 2: there's like too many personalities at play here. It was
- 18:14Speaker 2: interesting that in the personality test we only got to
- 18:17Speaker 2: hear Mary's results, right, would have loved to hear everybody
- 18:20Speaker 2: else's from me as well? Yeah, that would have been
- 18:22Speaker 2: very interesting. Yes, But before we get to the results
- 18:25Speaker 2: of that and the rest of the therapy, we have
- 18:27Speaker 2: this like one little section with Leon and talking about
- 18:31Speaker 2: college because they really want to go to Westminster. So
- 18:35Speaker 2: Dream College and U and LV is not an option
- 18:38Speaker 2: for that. Only Westminster, which is like a super expensive
- 18:42Speaker 2: schools out of state the family's broke af and can't
- 18:46Speaker 2: really afford to send Leon to Westminster. But Leon got
- 18:50Speaker 2: a couple of scholarships, so they're gonna go.
- 18:53Speaker 1: For only like ten dollars a year. And I think
- 18:57Speaker 1: as of twenty twenty four, according to Nikki Haverstock, one
- 19:00Speaker 1: year at Westminster was like fifty thousand dollars a year,
- 19:04Speaker 1: which is crazy. For four years, you're talking two hundred
- 19:07Speaker 1: thousand dollars. I don't know if they continued to get
- 19:10Speaker 1: scholarships or how that's going to work out. I do
- 19:13Speaker 1: know that here in season nineteen, we have Mary saying
- 19:16Speaker 1: that it was actually her that ends up paying for
- 19:20Speaker 1: Leon's tuition, and it sounds like Mary pays the totality
- 19:24Speaker 1: of that tuition, so it doesn't seem like the family
- 19:27Speaker 1: comes out of their pocket at all for Leon, which
- 19:30Speaker 1: was very interesting. And when Mary is talking to Cody
- 19:33Speaker 1: and Leon is off at the side, Mary says a
- 19:36Speaker 1: couple of very interesting things. First and foremost, it's like, well, Cody,
- 19:39Speaker 1: you're not around like Leon and I have been trying
- 19:42Speaker 1: to workshop this. We've been looking for scholarships, we've been
- 19:45Speaker 1: talking about loans, but you're never here, So you are
- 19:48Speaker 1: you haven't been privy to these conversations, so you don't
- 19:51Speaker 1: know what's possible because we don't ever see you. That
- 19:54Speaker 1: was the first thing that I thought was really very interesting.
- 19:58Speaker 1: The second thing was Mary says that she doesn't even
- 20:02Speaker 1: know how much the family is paying for a Logan
- 20:05Speaker 1: to go to UNLV. Yeah, like they haven't actually sat
- 20:09Speaker 1: down at that big Mormon conference table where they have
- 20:12Speaker 1: their sister wives my sister wife's closet design discussions. They
- 20:16Speaker 1: haven't actually sat down at that table to talk about
- 20:19Speaker 1: how much they're going to have to put towards Logan's
- 20:22Speaker 1: four year college education. And we also have asked been
- 20:25Speaker 1: coming up going to school. We have mchelthe talking about
- 20:27Speaker 1: going to design school. Yeah, but a lot of these
- 20:30Speaker 1: kids going off to college, and y'all haven't sat down
- 20:33Speaker 1: and had the conversation. But how much the family is
- 20:37Speaker 1: going to be contributing. That was just so strange to me.
- 20:40Speaker 2: That was so bizarre, and I'm just like, Mary, why
- 20:42Speaker 2: don't you figure it out? Like you can literally go
- 20:45Speaker 2: talk to Janelle who's the family accountant, and you can
- 20:47Speaker 2: look at what is being allocated for Logan's college and
- 20:51Speaker 2: like how that's going about. But like, no, nobody talks
- 20:54Speaker 2: to each other, nobody communicates anything. And even Mary is
- 20:58Speaker 2: having these conversations with out Cody there talking to Leon
- 21:02Speaker 2: and saying, yeah, I really want you to go to Westminster.
- 21:04Speaker 2: So she's not really getting approval or any kind of
- 21:08Speaker 2: input from Cody, which I can only imagine makes him
- 21:11Speaker 2: feel like he's not really a part of their family.
- 21:14Speaker 2: And granted, like that's also on Cody too, I'm not
- 21:17Speaker 2: copying for him. It's just interesting how you're already seeing
- 21:20Speaker 2: this breakdown in communication and breakdown in family dynamics where
- 21:24Speaker 2: like Cody's just not involved, and like Cody is trying
- 21:27Speaker 2: to have a realistic conversation with Mary and Leon being like, yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 2: I don't know if having a second job through school,
- 21:34Speaker 2: Leon is going to be a realistic thing for you,
- 21:36Speaker 2: because you need to study. You're going to school for
- 21:38Speaker 2: pre medicine, and like it's also not going to make
- 21:41Speaker 2: a dent in this fifty thousand dollars a year tuition
- 21:44Speaker 2: and with your loans and everything, like, I just don't
- 21:47Speaker 2: think it's going to be enough. And you know, our
- 21:49Speaker 2: finances are tight because we just spend all of this
- 21:51Speaker 2: money on this cul de sac and all of this crap, like,
- 21:54Speaker 2: I don't think we can really afford this is basically
- 21:57Speaker 2: what he's trying to say. And Mary's like, well, so
- 22:00Speaker 2: I want to do everything that we can to get
- 22:01Speaker 2: Leon to go to Westminster.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yes, And Leon's like, well, this is my only option,
- 22:06Speaker 1: and I'm not compromising at all.
- 22:08Speaker 2: So spoiled, very very very so fucking spoiled.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I was resenting that quite a bit. And I could
- 22:13Speaker 1: actually have like some sympathy for Cody's position here. And
- 22:17Speaker 1: I don't want to take out a bunch of loans,
- 22:20Speaker 1: you know, for one hundred and twenty or one hundred
- 22:22Speaker 1: and fifty thousand dollars for your four year education at
- 22:24Speaker 1: the time in twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen or whatever it was,
- 22:27Speaker 1: because I want to have a retirement. I've got seventeen
- 22:30Speaker 1: other kids that I've got to support. It's not just
- 22:32Speaker 1: about you. But of course, the way that Mary has
- 22:35Speaker 1: raised Leon, it's like Leon does not have an expectation
- 22:39Speaker 1: that they cannot get exactly what it is that they
- 22:42Speaker 1: want exactly.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And that's what's so crazy, because in such a giant
- 22:45Speaker 2: family you have Leon who's so spoiled, in my opinion,
- 22:48Speaker 2: like such a spoiled little brat, Like they get literally
- 22:51Speaker 2: whatever they want all the time, and it's because Mary
- 22:54Speaker 2: allows that. Like when I was growing up, I had
- 22:57Speaker 2: three sisters and two of them were older than me,
- 23:00Speaker 2: and so they got the best things first, and I
- 23:03Speaker 2: got the scraps basically. But like one of my oldest
- 23:07Speaker 2: stepsisters got to go to college, got to study abroad
- 23:10Speaker 2: and friends of all places, and so my stepdad ended
- 23:14Speaker 2: up having to take all of these loans out and
- 23:17Speaker 2: he was kind of bitter about that because my sis
- 23:19Speaker 2: sister flunked in France and so having an extra year,
- 23:23Speaker 2: so a lot of student loans because of my stepsister,
- 23:27Speaker 2: So she kind of ruined it for the rest of us.
- 23:28Speaker 2: So when I got to college age, I'm like, I
- 23:31Speaker 2: want to go study abroad, and like I was a
- 23:33Speaker 2: good student, I would have aiced it, but I'm like,
- 23:35Speaker 2: I want to go study in Greece or something. And
- 23:38Speaker 2: my stepdad was like, no, You're going to go to
- 23:39Speaker 2: community college. And you know, granted, I'm thankful for that
- 23:43Speaker 2: because I have no student loans, Like a community college
- 23:46Speaker 2: was so affordable. I have my associate's degree and no debt,
- 23:50Speaker 2: thank god, and it's great. So I'm very happy about that,
- 23:52Speaker 2: But that was the conversation that we had because my
- 23:55Speaker 2: stepsister already took out of those loans and made all
- 23:57Speaker 2: those mistakes. So like the fact that Leon gets to
- 24:01Speaker 2: go to Westminster after the family is like totally tight
- 24:05Speaker 2: with money, and like Mary ends up taking out all
- 24:07Speaker 2: of that debt on herself. I wonder if she still
- 24:09Speaker 2: has those student loans or if she was able to
- 24:12Speaker 2: pay any of them off. But if she's still paying
- 24:14Speaker 2: off the loans for Leon and Leon doesn't have to
- 24:16Speaker 2: take any of that, I'm just like, wow.
- 24:19Speaker 1: And was Leon ever pre med?
- 24:22Speaker 2: Because oh, I don't think so.
- 24:23Speaker 1: They're speaking about it like it now in season six
- 24:26Speaker 1: that they're going to be pre med. But I think
- 24:28Speaker 1: Leon ends up like as a LCSW.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I think so social work.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I think that's what's I don't know, how are you
- 24:35Speaker 1: going to be able to pay back two hundred thousand
- 24:37Speaker 1: dollars in university loans as a social worker? But like
- 24:40Speaker 1: they probably don't have to worry about it when they've
- 24:44Speaker 1: got Mary exactly, the mother that's doing the lu lauau
- 24:48Speaker 1: making all this money. That's probably why Mary got into
- 24:51Speaker 1: like multiple MLMs, the way that she did, because she's
- 24:54Speaker 1: got a fun leon, she's got her budget. But Cody
- 24:57Speaker 1: was really quick to tell her to come out of
- 25:00Speaker 1: that budget and pay for all of this yourself, which
- 25:03Speaker 1: is crazy. Yeah, I'm like, I really really wish there
- 25:06Speaker 1: was some transparency at this time in the process, so
- 25:10Speaker 1: we would know how much Logan is receiving from the
- 25:13Speaker 1: family LLC and how much Janelle is actually taking out
- 25:16Speaker 1: of her grocery fund so she can send Logan off
- 25:18Speaker 1: to school and then Maddie and how this all works.
- 25:21Speaker 1: But we don't know.
- 25:22Speaker 2: No, we'll never know.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And I'm shocked that Mary doesn't know either. I know,
- 25:25Speaker 1: that's wild to me, and she has no idea how
- 25:28Speaker 1: much Logan is receiving from the family.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I'm like, you were in your forties, you should be
- 25:32Speaker 2: aware of like what's happening. But because of the way
- 25:35Speaker 2: they like structure their family and how the women are
- 25:37Speaker 2: all independent, which is great, like nobody really shares their
- 25:42Speaker 2: own financial situation with each other, but then you have
- 25:45Speaker 2: the family pot like it's so messy. Yes, it's so awful.
- 25:48Speaker 2: And then at the end of this conversation, Cody gets
- 25:51Speaker 2: up and leaves, doesn't hug Mary, doesn't hugly On doesn't
- 25:54Speaker 2: even say I love you.
- 25:55Speaker 1: He's like, Okay, I gotta go by kind of slams
- 25:57Speaker 1: the door.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I think he's frustrated. He has been kept out of
- 26:01Speaker 1: a lot of these discussions, but at the same time,
- 26:04Speaker 1: he hasn't made the effort to come on over and
- 26:05Speaker 1: have those discussions. So now you really don't have any power, Cody,
- 26:09Speaker 1: to tell these two people what they need to do
- 26:11Speaker 1: in order to send le On to college. So just
- 26:14Speaker 1: get on.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Like if you back to Robinson, Yeah, if you were
- 26:17Speaker 2: more present, then you would not be upset, but you're
- 26:20Speaker 2: not privy to any of the conversations because you're at Robins. Right.
- 26:24Speaker 1: It's great exactly.
- 26:26Speaker 2: And then we have Cody very excited but also very
- 26:30Speaker 2: nervous to give out his beautiful jewelry designs that he
- 26:34Speaker 2: made for each one.
- 26:36Speaker 1: My god, I can't wait to talk about this.
- 26:38Speaker 2: God, it was so cringe.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It wants to give them out before they actually make
- 26:44Speaker 1: their track to Sedona and dig deep into the marriage counseling.
- 26:48Speaker 1: So he wants to give his wives these gifts that
- 26:50Speaker 1: he loosely designed, but then somebody else had to do
- 26:53Speaker 1: the rest of the design and actually create and manufacture
- 26:55Speaker 1: this for him. So he takes these gift bags over
- 26:59Speaker 1: and we go through the presentation process. Mary gets her
- 27:03Speaker 1: necklace first, of course, the Fidelis necklace, which was going
- 27:07Speaker 1: to be a dog. Apparently it was going to be
- 27:09Speaker 1: a golden retriever. That's what Cody's original idea was.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Yeah, she seems to like it. Yeah, everyone seems to
- 27:15Speaker 2: like it.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Then we get Janelle and her tree, her bumb ass tree,
- 27:20Speaker 1: but she loves it, she seems to respond to it.
- 27:24Speaker 1: And then we get the ft up Phoenix for Robin.
- 27:27Speaker 1: It is so ugly, it's so bad, it's truly the worst,
- 27:31Speaker 1: and she loves it, fake loves it. And then we
- 27:34Speaker 1: get to Christine.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, she couldn't even fake it. She's like, yeah,
- 27:40Speaker 2: it's nice.
- 27:43Speaker 1: She had a hook face, as we say in Hawaii.
- 27:46Speaker 1: She couldn't even put a smile on her face. She
- 27:48Speaker 1: was not grateful, she was not nice about it. It
- 27:53Speaker 1: was really immature and very rude. I mean, my husband,
- 27:57Speaker 1: I've been with him for many, many years. He has
- 27:59Speaker 1: gotten me a ton of gifts like that first Christmas
- 28:02Speaker 1: we talked about, honey, where all he got me were
- 28:04Speaker 1: Tibetan singing balls, and I had like seven presents under
- 28:08Speaker 1: the tree. They were all singing bulls attuned to the
- 28:12Speaker 1: chakra system. And I'm just like, Okay, that's great and all.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But it was it my favorite gift? No, absolutely not.
- 28:19Speaker 1: But was I grateful? Sure, yes it was. Oh by
- 28:21Speaker 1: the seventh.
- 28:22Speaker 2: One, yes, I kind of upset.
- 28:24Speaker 1: This isn't another singing bowl, is it?
- 28:26Speaker 2: And that was all? You got it all?
- 28:28Speaker 1: And when I tell you, I went to town on
- 28:31Speaker 1: their Christmas, oh my god, and his in particular. I
- 28:34Speaker 1: got him an Xbox one. I got him like a
- 28:37Speaker 1: couple of really nice guns. I got him other electronics.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I got him like a crossbow and a flamethrower. Like
- 28:43Speaker 1: when I tell you, I got this man everything he
- 28:46Speaker 1: could have dreamed of and more. And I just sat
- 28:48Speaker 1: there with my singing bowls. But I at least had
- 28:51Speaker 1: the decency to put a smile on my face. It
- 28:54Speaker 1: was our first Christmas together. He didn't know how to
- 28:57Speaker 1: be with the person really, yeah, and so he had
- 28:59Speaker 1: a lot to learn. But I was nice about it. Yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 1: Christine couldn't even smile. I felt she was so rude.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Totally I agree, and like, at the same time, I
- 29:11Speaker 2: also understand why she didn't like it because it was
- 29:13Speaker 2: so ugly. It was us were awful, But like, I
- 29:17Speaker 2: think this was a reaction to like their marriage. Like
- 29:22Speaker 2: I think she looked at this necklace and was like, Wow,
- 29:24Speaker 2: this man doesn't even know me, Like everybody else maybe
- 29:26Speaker 2: had things that were like symbolic of their love and stuff,
- 29:31Speaker 2: like even Robin's, like Cody describes it to her on
- 29:34Speaker 2: the couch, like, yeah, it's about a song that we
- 29:36Speaker 2: both like, and it's about phoenix rising and now you're
- 29:38Speaker 2: like this beautiful goddess out of the flames of your deporce.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Wow.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Literally, like all this stuff, and then Christine's is just
- 29:47Speaker 2: a pixie on a heart with some etching. Like I
- 29:51Speaker 2: get why she would hate it, but at the same time,
- 29:54Speaker 2: her reaction was totally immature, especially in front of all
- 29:56Speaker 2: the other ladies. Like Robin's necklace was objectively the ugliest.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Absolutely it was absolutely one one hundred percento.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I mean, it doesn't even look like a phoenix. But
- 30:06Speaker 2: even she was like, oh my god, I love it. Beautiful,
- 30:09Speaker 2: Like she faked it in front of all the other wives,
- 30:11Speaker 2: like Christine could have done that.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I think Christine's issue with the necklace was the etched
- 30:17Speaker 1: side of it, which she does say, but also it
- 30:19Speaker 1: represents the dark side of the moon. It represents the
- 30:24Speaker 1: shadow aspect of this pixie being that Cody sees.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Her to be.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And even when he was designing it and talking about
- 30:32Speaker 1: it with the manufacturers, he's like, well, but she's a
- 30:34Speaker 1: fairy that can bite. Yeah, she will maul you, she
- 30:38Speaker 1: will nip at you, And so I want to actually
- 30:40Speaker 1: reflect that as well in this design. And so I
- 30:42Speaker 1: think maybe her actual issue was with the shadow, with
- 30:46Speaker 1: the darkness within herself. She didn't really want that to
- 30:49Speaker 1: be reflected in his design, but it was. But she
- 30:53Speaker 1: could have found a more mature way to discuss that
- 30:56Speaker 1: totally just pouting in front of the other women. It
- 30:59Speaker 1: was just a really redicu to me.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I know, I'm like, you could talk about that privately
- 31:02Speaker 2: in your five hours that you get to have with
- 31:05Speaker 2: later in the week instead of doing it on camera
- 31:08Speaker 2: in front of everybody else. It was so awkward, Like
- 31:11Speaker 2: I could feel the tension and the awkwardness on my
- 31:14Speaker 2: TV from back in that time, Like it was so bad.
- 31:19Speaker 2: But I also loved it.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it was great though.
- 31:21Speaker 2: It was fantastic and it was so good to see
- 31:24Speaker 2: Cody like flounder and be like, no, it's okay. I
- 31:27Speaker 2: still love you, and I'll just continue to create necklaces
- 31:31Speaker 2: for you until.
- 31:31Speaker 1: We've land on the one that you really love, which
- 31:34Speaker 1: he never does again. He's never going to try this again.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Is oh oh, totally. It was delicious. And then we
- 31:42Speaker 2: have the old counselor Pat coming over, like before the
- 31:46Speaker 2: Browns go to their Sedona marriage retreat. I guess Pat
- 31:49Speaker 2: is gonna accompany it, accompany them to Sedona because she
- 31:54Speaker 2: wants to help.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Nancy miss Polygamus before.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Yeah, but whatever, Pat comes over and acts like she's
- 32:03Speaker 2: a part of the family. She's like talking to each
- 32:04Speaker 2: of the wives, gives them all hugs.
- 32:06Speaker 1: What an odd duck she is, I know, a bit
- 32:08Speaker 1: of an odd duck.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but she seems to like the Browns. She's given
- 32:11Speaker 2: me lesbian vibes a little bit too.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Little, just a little. She has a big old rock
- 32:16Speaker 1: on her finger, and I'm sure she's in a big
- 32:18Speaker 1: old Mormon marriage. But I'm just wondering about that.
- 32:21Speaker 2: I wonder if she's married to another pet or something.
- 32:24Speaker 1: No, I bet she's not. I bet it's a repressed
- 32:27Speaker 1: my vibe in my dream. I feel bad that I
- 32:30Speaker 1: don't get out there.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I know. Anyway, she comes over. She kind of talks
- 32:34Speaker 2: about how she's been the family therapist for the last
- 32:37Speaker 2: five years. She talks about how the Browns are a
- 32:41Speaker 2: little dysfunctional sometimes still little, but they're overall great, they
- 32:45Speaker 2: love each other. And then Mary talks about how she's
- 32:48Speaker 2: still trying to figure out who she is, and I'm
- 32:50Speaker 2: just like, oh my god, Like even back in twenty twelve,
- 32:53Speaker 2: twenty thirteen, like you're still figuring out, Like how long
- 32:56Speaker 2: is it gonna take? You're talking about that now in
- 32:58Speaker 2: twenty twenty five.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Well, but I feel like this is such a critical
- 33:03Speaker 1: moment in time for Mary because Leanna is about to
- 33:07Speaker 1: leave the roost. She's going to be an empty nester.
- 33:11Speaker 1: She had her ring melted down hood. Yeah, she's alone
- 33:15Speaker 1: in that big old mansion in the cold to sag.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Nobody comes to call, and nobody cares about her, and
- 33:20Speaker 1: so she's trying to figure out her position in her
- 33:22Speaker 1: place in the family. And I also just got the
- 33:26Speaker 1: impression that she felt like an emotional connection with Pat.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Yeah, lesbis getting sorry.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Now that you say it, though perfect She had a crush,
- 33:39Speaker 1: But I feel like maybe Pat helped Mary and Cody
- 33:42Speaker 1: in particular get through some very rough thing to melting. Yeah,
- 33:47Speaker 1: reached some important resolutions. But like, yeah, I do think
- 33:51Speaker 1: it's valid that Mary's going through a lot right now,
- 33:53Speaker 1: and she's probably going to this retreat wondering like, well,
- 33:56Speaker 1: how do I fit in? Like what's it going to be?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Like?
- 33:58Speaker 1: I don't even know.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like annoying to me that it's taken
- 34:01Speaker 2: so long, because she's still talking about that in twenty
- 34:03Speaker 2: twenty five with her walls up.
- 34:05Speaker 1: But they just want to offer to you that there
- 34:08Speaker 1: are a lot of people in their forties and fifties
- 34:10Speaker 1: who still don't know what the f they are doing.
- 34:13Speaker 1: They are still trying to recreate and reinvent their life.
- 34:16Speaker 1: They don't know what the next chapter is going to
- 34:18Speaker 1: look like. It's not like you graduate into your thirties
- 34:20Speaker 1: and have you figured it out. I just want to
- 34:22Speaker 1: just warn you, I know that is not going to happen.
- 34:25Speaker 1: So like, there's a lot of us out here who
- 34:27Speaker 1: are of like a higher age but still don't really
- 34:29Speaker 1: know what the heck we are doing. So I just
- 34:32Speaker 1: feel for Mary a little bit. I feel like how
- 34:34Speaker 1: insecure she must feel. Yeah, and vulnerable she must feel
- 34:37Speaker 1: because she desperately loves Cody. I don't know why, but
- 34:42Speaker 1: she does, and she wants to be a part of
- 34:43Speaker 1: the family. She just doesn't know how to make that
- 34:46Speaker 1: work well.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And I totally get it. It's I think from my perspective,
- 34:50Speaker 2: it's just frustrating to see Mary like struggling so long,
- 34:54Speaker 2: for so long, for so many years in this family
- 34:57Speaker 2: unit that like doesn't want her, like Cody doesn't want her.
- 34:59Speaker 2: It's just it's like it's not so much like a
- 35:01Speaker 2: frustration with Mary per se. It's like a frustration of
- 35:04Speaker 2: like I just want to shake her and like get
- 35:07Speaker 2: her out of there, and like, oh my God, worthy
- 35:09Speaker 2: up already. Yeah, Like that's what's so frustrating. And I
- 35:12Speaker 2: know I say this all the time, and I'm not
- 35:13Speaker 2: trying to be super critical on Mary.
- 35:15Speaker 1: It's just a she is pathetic. Yes, you use that
- 35:19Speaker 1: word before, and I think you're quite accurate, Like it
- 35:21Speaker 1: is pretty pathetic. But at the same time, when you
- 35:24Speaker 1: add in all of like the religious parts, yeah, and
- 35:27Speaker 1: the actual true love first love parts, yeah, like colab
- 35:31Speaker 1: and they got a whole planet and everything, there's like
- 35:33Speaker 1: a lot going on.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Is a lot for Mary and the repressed homosexuality.
- 35:37Speaker 1: And oh god, I didn't say that. Yeah, my god,
- 35:43Speaker 1: we love that though, But did you sidebar, what did
- 35:46Speaker 1: you see the picture of Mary that she released. She
- 35:48Speaker 1: was on like some red carpet, so skinny, very very slender. Yes,
- 35:54Speaker 1: that's what a good divorce will do for you, heady,
- 35:57Speaker 1: it will catapult you into a new sexy era. Now,
- 36:00Speaker 1: her hair, I'm not going to go there because that's
- 36:03Speaker 1: just rude. I'm just gonna let her have this moment
- 36:05Speaker 1: in the sun. But she looks wonderful. Yeah, she seems
- 36:09Speaker 1: to be doing great.
- 36:10Speaker 2: She seems to be doing really awesome. Yes, with that
- 36:13Speaker 2: Alice from Twilight haircut, you know what I'm talking.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, that's what it is. But you know what,
- 36:21Speaker 1: God bless Yes, I mean we were into the choppy
- 36:23Speaker 1: layers back in the aughts. She's still into tens. But
- 36:28Speaker 1: I mean, hey, it works for her, sure, and let's
- 36:31Speaker 1: leave it right there. Yeah, moved on.
- 36:35Speaker 2: And after Pat comes over and talks to the family,
- 36:37Speaker 2: then we head over to Sedona, Arizona. We stop at Sparroquest.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Yeah have you been there?
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:43Speaker 1: Oh, okay, like a New Age crystal shop totally. I
- 36:46Speaker 1: mean there's a bill there.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, Okay, there's so many of those shops in
- 36:51Speaker 2: Sedona it's crazy, but I've been to several of them
- 36:53Speaker 2: that they went and visited. But they stopped at Spirit Quest.
- 36:56Speaker 2: They meet some hippie couple. They go and do a
- 36:59Speaker 2: medic in the Red Rocks, which looks very lovely.
- 37:02Speaker 1: It does, but it is also ruined by Cody and Robin,
- 37:07Speaker 1: who get fixated on the ants.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I'm just like, Okay, let the poor man teach you
- 37:12Speaker 1: how to meditate.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Oh mg, It's like not a big deal. But they're
- 37:16Speaker 2: freaking out over the ants, crawling over on their legs
- 37:18Speaker 2: and stuff. But Janelle and Christine seem to really like
- 37:20Speaker 2: the meditation. Yes, they really enjoyed it. And then after
- 37:24Speaker 2: that we go back to Nancy and we have the
- 37:27Speaker 2: personality test results. Yes, which was very interesting. We have
- 37:31Speaker 2: Mary who is an eight. So I think they did
- 37:34Speaker 2: like an anagram or something. Yes, And so aight is
- 37:37Speaker 2: the reformer the truth teller And this is where Nancy
- 37:41Speaker 2: calls Mary out for maybe being a little too brutal
- 37:44Speaker 2: sometimes with telling the truth and maybe her She's like
- 37:48Speaker 2: overwhelmed with the feeling of needing to tell the truth,
- 37:51Speaker 2: but it tends to repress it for the sake of
- 37:55Speaker 2: everybody else. And this is where Mary actually gets emotional
- 37:58Speaker 2: and cries a little bit.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Because I think she's victimizing herself because she feels like
- 38:03Speaker 1: she cannot speak openly in the way that she wants to.
- 38:06Speaker 1: But I think the real gag is that Mary, you
- 38:10Speaker 1: were probably really abusive in your communication for a very
- 38:13Speaker 1: long time, and that nobody taught you in your childhood
- 38:15Speaker 1: how to be kind in your communication and be appropriate
- 38:18Speaker 1: in your communication. And so you came into this marriage,
- 38:20Speaker 1: and you came into the subsequent marriages with Janelle in particular,
- 38:23Speaker 1: but also Christine being this kind of wild card abusive,
- 38:27Speaker 1: say whatever's on your mind, and you really alienated people
- 38:30Speaker 1: out here. And so you're in the process right now
- 38:33Speaker 1: here in twenty fourteen or whenever. This is of trying
- 38:36Speaker 1: to figure out how to moderate and regulate your speech
- 38:39Speaker 1: so you can say the thing you want to say
- 38:41Speaker 1: without hurting somebody's feelings. And you don't necessarily know.
- 38:45Speaker 2: How to do that.
- 38:45Speaker 1: But that doesn't make you a victim. It makes you
- 38:48Speaker 1: somebody who was probably a verbal abuser, and she's trying
- 38:51Speaker 1: to shift and change that. But it doesn't make you
- 38:53Speaker 1: a victim. That's just all I want to say. That's
- 38:55Speaker 1: my personal intuition on it. Dang, that's how I feel
- 38:58Speaker 1: about that.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I mean, that's all fair. I'm just like thinking of
- 39:00Speaker 2: it too. From the perspective, she was in her twenties,
- 39:02Speaker 2: and so she probably said some stupid crap. And when
- 39:06Speaker 2: you're in your twenties and your thirties and even in
- 39:08Speaker 2: your forties, probably you end up a little emotionally. I'm regulated,
- 39:12Speaker 2: and you say some really stupid stuff. You say it
- 39:15Speaker 2: in the worst ways possible because you don't know how
- 39:17Speaker 2: to communicate and you don't know how to regulate your crap,
- 39:20Speaker 2: and like then you have the fundamentalist religion and all
- 39:23Speaker 2: of that shit. So like, I understand why she's getting emotional.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I don't think she was like trying to victimize herself,
- 39:29Speaker 2: but I understand why she was getting emotional because she
- 39:31Speaker 2: probably has repressed herself so much now. I mean, she's
- 39:35Speaker 2: doing it now, even in twenty twenty five, where she
- 39:37Speaker 2: can't actually say the things anymore, Like she can't just
- 39:40Speaker 2: be like real. Her walls are way up and they're
- 39:43Speaker 2: never coming down, right, So I can see how it
- 39:46Speaker 2: would be emotional to want to say the things and
- 39:50Speaker 2: then feel like you can't. But also I'm like, get
- 39:53Speaker 2: some intensive therapy though, and like learn how to communicate.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Not just Christian therapy or examine therapy. You need to
- 40:00Speaker 1: continue with an actual licensed therapist to learn how to
- 40:03Speaker 1: do this. And I'm just wondering personally what kind of
- 40:06Speaker 1: potential trauma she might have experienced in her childhood, because
- 40:09Speaker 1: she just strikes me as somebody who probably went through
- 40:12Speaker 1: a lot totally.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm like wondering where she learned her communication style,
- 40:16Speaker 2: Like did was she talk to like that?
- 40:18Speaker 1: From somebody was screaming in her household exactly?
- 40:21Speaker 2: And so that's all she learned, but then never learned
- 40:24Speaker 2: the right way to talk to people and like the
- 40:26Speaker 2: right way to express herself. So she's just repressing it
- 40:30Speaker 2: and burying it down and that's why she ends up
- 40:33Speaker 2: sucking on a banana later and her bathtime.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Yes, you know, can we go uncensored for a second?
- 40:38Speaker 2: Sure?
- 40:38Speaker 1: Okay, So back from uncensored, Like, I have a lot
- 40:41Speaker 1: of compassion for Mary here because she just doesn't know
- 40:45Speaker 1: how to land in a spot that works for her, Like,
- 40:49Speaker 1: she has a lot to say in this moment, but
- 40:51Speaker 1: she's scared to say it because she has demonstrated previously
- 40:56Speaker 1: that she doesn't know how to moderate herself. But at
- 40:58Speaker 1: the same time, she can see what's going on exactly,
- 41:01Speaker 1: and she knows what's happening in her own relationship with
- 41:02Speaker 1: Cody and with these other women, and they're so much
- 41:05Speaker 1: there and that's why she cries. Yeah, that's why she
- 41:08Speaker 1: walls up because she doesn't know what.
- 41:09Speaker 2: To do with it exactly, because she knows that if
- 41:11Speaker 2: she says anything, it might be the wrong way and
- 41:13Speaker 2: then she'll hurt somebody and then it makes a bigger
- 41:16Speaker 2: hole for herself and everybody else. And so like I
- 41:19Speaker 2: honestly felt for Mary in this episode because of that,
- 41:22Speaker 2: Like when she was told that she was the truth teller,
- 41:26Speaker 2: I'm like, dang, that's crazy, because she is so stuck
- 41:29Speaker 2: in the shadow of it because she doesn't really tell
- 41:31Speaker 2: the truth even now in twenty five, Like she can't.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Just be She's trying, though, can you see that she's
- 41:37Speaker 1: trying in her weird way, She's religiously repressed, but she's
- 41:42Speaker 1: trying to worthy up, like she's creating these symbols of
- 41:46Speaker 1: what she wants to achieve, and she is projecting herself
- 41:49Speaker 1: as having already achieved that, but she's really in the
- 41:52Speaker 1: process of doing so, Like, I feel like that's what
- 41:55Speaker 1: she wants and that's where I can get my compassion
- 41:59Speaker 1: for her. And let me just say, by the way,
- 42:01Speaker 1: that uncensored section that we just went through, which is
- 42:04Speaker 1: very personal, if you want to have access to anything
- 42:07Speaker 1: that we say that's uncensored, all you have to do
- 42:09Speaker 1: is go to patreon dot com, slash reality TV cringe.
- 42:12Speaker 1: That's for the vip raccoons. Yep, just FYI. But anyway,
- 42:17Speaker 1: I feel like she's on this journey of that. Yeah,
- 42:20Speaker 1: and she's trying to say I'm already there though, so
- 42:23Speaker 1: I can take you with me, which is very MLM
- 42:25Speaker 1: of her. Right, She's not there though, Well.
- 42:27Speaker 2: And maybe she'll be one of those women that like
- 42:29Speaker 2: will start not giving a crap like the older that
- 42:32Speaker 2: she gets because you know how you talk to some
- 42:34Speaker 2: older women, like in their seventies who are like, I
- 42:37Speaker 2: don't give a shit anymore, right, and they just say
- 42:40Speaker 2: whatever they want and do whatever they want. So I
- 42:43Speaker 2: hope she gets to that point and she probably will.
- 42:46Speaker 2: It's just taking a really long time, and because of
- 42:48Speaker 2: all of those factors, because maybe her trauma as a
- 42:50Speaker 2: kid and growing up in polygamy and then being married
- 42:53Speaker 2: to a literal demon Cody Brown for thirty thousand years.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Like she'll get there. I hope she does. It's hard
- 43:00Speaker 2: to see her go through these parts though, Like it's
- 43:04Speaker 2: hard to see her in season six where she's going
- 43:06Speaker 2: through this therapy session and she's like crying but doesn't
- 43:09Speaker 2: know how to fully express it, doesn't know how to
- 43:11Speaker 2: actually say what she's feeling. And then she's having it
- 43:14Speaker 2: all filmed, right, got that layer of like not really
- 43:17Speaker 2: wanting to be personal because you're on camera, like it's.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Well and in traditional therapy, like with a monogamous you'd
- 43:25Speaker 1: be there with your husband or your wife and it
- 43:27Speaker 1: would just be you and that person working out your drama.
- 43:32Speaker 1: But she doesn't really even get to have the spotlight
- 43:34Speaker 1: here because and we see Cody just kind of immediately
- 43:39Speaker 1: dismiss her position and immediately dismissed like her traits and
- 43:43Speaker 1: her quirks and talk about like how he's in this
- 43:45Speaker 1: terrible position because he's got to try and attend to
- 43:47Speaker 1: all of his wives and figure out how to have
- 43:49Speaker 1: empathy for all to be patient women, and like, she
- 43:53Speaker 1: can't even have this moment to be who she is
- 43:56Speaker 1: uniquely and have it be witnessed and acknowledged by her
- 43:59Speaker 1: husband because he doesn't care about her anymore. And that's
- 44:02Speaker 1: what I think her body is trying to tell her
- 44:04Speaker 1: honest sight, Her body and her spirit is trying to
- 44:07Speaker 1: tell her that Cody doesn't love you anymore. But she
- 44:10Speaker 1: cannot let go for all of these other extraneous reasons.
- 44:13Speaker 1: And that's what makes this sad. It also makes it
- 44:15Speaker 1: sad for Christine, which we don't really talk about. It
- 44:18Speaker 1: makes it sad for Janelle. Now Janelle's a different animal, though.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Janelle's like because the counselor kind of steers it away
- 44:26Speaker 1: from Cody after somewhat calling him out correcting him. Because again,
- 44:31Speaker 1: as soon as Mary says this about herself and how
- 44:33Speaker 1: it feels to be a truth teller and like to
- 44:36Speaker 1: be in this weird position where she's afraid that she's
- 44:38Speaker 1: going to hurt people's feelings by telling the truth, Cody
- 44:41Speaker 1: immediately dismisses her and says, well, yeah, like for me,
- 44:44Speaker 1: it's really hard because all these women have their different
- 44:46Speaker 1: problems and I've got to figure out how to manage
- 44:48Speaker 1: that and be empathetic. The counselor kind of corrects her,
- 44:52Speaker 1: corrects him, Yep, I'm sorry, corrects him, and then Robin
- 44:56Speaker 1: sweeps in to protect him and says that the until
- 45:00Speaker 1: are correcting. Cody's dismissal of Mary was aggressive. Yeah. Janelle
- 45:04Speaker 1: on the couch says, I don't think it was aggressive.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I think it was assertive, and that's what we paid
- 45:08Speaker 1: for her to do, coming up here to Sedona to
- 45:11Speaker 1: be our therapist. And so then the counselor at that
- 45:14Speaker 1: point sort of pivots the conversation to the women, yes,
- 45:18Speaker 1: and like where are you with each other? Because Cody's
- 45:22Speaker 1: trying to constantly put out there that I don't want
- 45:24Speaker 1: to be responsible for these women and their relationships. They
- 45:29Speaker 1: have to be responsible for that. And Robin says something like, yeah,
- 45:32Speaker 1: we're lazy, like we don't really spend time with each other.
- 45:35Speaker 1: We're like not really managing these relationships. And then we
- 45:39Speaker 1: go to Janelle and Janelle's like, yeah, I'm okay, though, Yeah,
- 45:42Speaker 1: I'm fine, fine to be separate from everybody else. I've
- 45:45Speaker 1: got my own stuff going on. And I'm obviously committed.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I'm here, I'm in the family, but like, I don't
- 45:52Speaker 1: really need these women to do anything for me, which
- 45:55Speaker 1: is funny because last week we thought she was going
- 45:57Speaker 1: to be talking about my sister wife's closet and that
- 45:59Speaker 1: she wanted to separate from that. She's literally talking about
- 46:02Speaker 1: the other women. Oh yeah, like, I don't need you,
- 46:05Speaker 1: I don't want you. I'm fine right over here where
- 46:07Speaker 1: I am.
- 46:08Speaker 2: And I love that. And I thought that was totally
- 46:11Speaker 2: a response to what Robin was saying, because before that,
- 46:13Speaker 2: when Robin was saying that they're lazy with each other,
- 46:16Speaker 2: she also said that they're all more focused on their
- 46:19Speaker 2: relationships with Cody than they are with each other, and
- 46:22Speaker 2: that they're just cordial with each other, especially at family events, right,
- 46:26Speaker 2: they just try to be cordial and nice, which was
- 46:29Speaker 2: very interesting that she's calling this out and calling this
- 46:32Speaker 2: dynamic out because the other wives, like even in this episode,
- 46:36Speaker 2: you can see they're focused on the family, and they're
- 46:38Speaker 2: focused on the family unit, and Robin talks about how no,
- 46:42Speaker 2: they're actually just focused on their relationships with Cody, which
- 46:45Speaker 2: means Robin's only focus her relationship with Cody. She doesn't
- 46:48Speaker 2: care about her relationships with other women, So it's interesting
- 46:52Speaker 2: that she's planting that seed, but Cody is quick to
- 46:56Speaker 2: blame the women for not being connected to each other.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Very very interesting. And then after that very hard, very aggressive,
- 47:04Speaker 2: very unsafe conversation with Nancy, everybody goes and takes a
- 47:09Speaker 2: walk because Cody needs a break from therapy because he
- 47:13Speaker 2: literally says he has to do all the emotional lifting
- 47:16Speaker 2: in this way.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I couldn't believe he said that with his mouth and
- 47:18Speaker 1: his words. I know It's like, I'm the one that
- 47:20Speaker 1: has to do the emotional heavy lifting in this family.
- 47:23Speaker 1: I'm constantly having to do this work. And I'm like,
- 47:25Speaker 1: what are you? Totally what are you talking about? Like
- 47:27Speaker 1: they won't even film your individual therapy session with Nancy
- 47:31Speaker 1: in your hotel room, but they will with Christine and
- 47:35Speaker 1: Mary channel because your shit's in Robin's room and Robin
- 47:38Speaker 1: is also outside when they're interviewing her for individual therapy.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Because you're always with Robin, What's like, emotional heavy lifting
- 47:45Speaker 1: are you actually do? But he believes it.
- 47:48Speaker 2: He does.
- 47:48Speaker 1: He literally believes this about himself, that he's doing all
- 47:51Speaker 1: of the hard work. And this is what is embittering
- 47:54Speaker 1: him over the years towards these other women when in actuality,
- 47:57Speaker 1: he's really not He's not doing and I'm wondering if
- 47:59Speaker 1: it Robin on the side going, oh my god, they
- 48:02Speaker 1: expect you to do this?
- 48:03Speaker 2: I think so, they expect you.
- 48:05Speaker 1: To manage their relationships so that they can get along.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Why should you have to do this? You really, I
- 48:10Speaker 1: shouldn't have to do it because he's dub.
- 48:12Speaker 2: He is so dumb, and he's hypnotized by the goddess
- 48:15Speaker 2: that is Robin Broquet. It's so ridiculous. And then it's
- 48:21Speaker 2: the next day and they had other plans to involve
- 48:25Speaker 2: all of the women and Cody. You got to talk
- 48:27Speaker 2: about this, but Robin is sick, she's nauseous, and so
- 48:32Speaker 2: she's staying back in her hotel room, right, which I
- 48:35Speaker 2: think either she's prego and not say anything, or she's
- 48:39Speaker 2: faking it because she doesn't want to be dealing with
- 48:41Speaker 2: therapy with all of these other women and Cody. But
- 48:44Speaker 2: Cody has to because it's the show, right and he
- 48:47Speaker 2: has to be with all the other wives, and so
- 48:50Speaker 2: he does this activity with them, and Robin gets to
- 48:52Speaker 2: stay back in her hotel room.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Which I just think is really indicative of how she
- 48:57Speaker 1: has perceived herself in this family, on on this show,
- 49:00Speaker 1: this entire time, because I don't think she feels like
- 49:03Speaker 1: she has to show her like exactly. She doesn't have
- 49:05Speaker 1: to show her room, yep, didn't have to show her house.
- 49:07Speaker 1: She doesn't have to show anything. And so if I
- 49:09Speaker 1: don't want to be there, I don't have to go there.
- 49:11Speaker 1: But I'm still going to be collecting these pretty checks.
- 49:13Speaker 1: I don't think she's pregnant with Ariela at this probably not.
- 49:17Speaker 1: I think that comes later because I think Solomon's only
- 49:19Speaker 1: like one or one and so, Yeah, but I think
- 49:21Speaker 1: she's just calling off because she doesn't want to do it.
- 49:23Speaker 1: And I don't think she likes therapy, and I don't
- 49:25Speaker 1: think she likes to hear Mary and Janelle and Christine
- 49:29Speaker 1: talk about their relationships with Cody. I don't think she
- 49:31Speaker 1: can handle it.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I don't think so either. I thought it was so interesting, yeah,
- 49:35Speaker 2: like it's a marriage retreat, it's therapy, and you can't
- 49:37Speaker 2: even show up. You're sitting in your hotel room with
- 49:41Speaker 2: room service waiting for Cody.
- 49:43Speaker 1: I really wish I knew what her moon sign was,
- 49:46Speaker 1: I know, and what her rising was.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Because she's Libra, right, Liba's son.
- 49:50Speaker 1: So Libra is so chill and awesome. Typically if they're
- 49:53Speaker 1: in balance, like there's, they're typically like really wonderful people.
- 49:57Speaker 1: But the shadow, but the shadow, and also oh whatever
- 50:00Speaker 1: your moon is and you're rising. I wish I knew,
- 50:03Speaker 1: Oh my.
- 50:03Speaker 2: God, just to have her birth chart would be so great.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Some Gemini and there there's some saws goblin action going
- 50:11Speaker 1: on in her replacements.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Yes, or water?
- 50:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, repressed water, so much repressed water. Maybe
- 50:21Speaker 1: too some fire. I don't know, girls, I don't know.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Soun's wrong with Sound's wrong with that woman?
- 50:26Speaker 2: Something is wrong. But on day two they go meet
- 50:30Speaker 2: some guy Joseph Joseph white Wolf.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Okay, Joseph white Wolf, white guy, Joseph, white guy, Joseph
- 50:37Speaker 1: white guy with the grasshopper.
- 50:39Speaker 2: With the grasshopper tell him to face their fears.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Right, because when the grasshopper hops away from you, it
- 50:46Speaker 1: spins in the air and it lands in a position
- 50:48Speaker 1: where it's facing you, meaning you have to face your fears.
- 50:51Speaker 2: So profound Joseph White.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Tody's talking about how he really has a lot of
- 50:56Speaker 1: latitude and grace for people who have weird beliefs because
- 50:59Speaker 1: he comes from the weirdest belief of them all, which
- 51:02Speaker 1: is Mormonism.
- 51:03Speaker 2: And I agree at least he's aware of that part, yes,
- 51:07Speaker 2: But it's interesting how he's calling his religion weird even
- 51:11Speaker 2: in season six, because he's so quick to defend it,
- 51:13Speaker 2: even just last week's episode in front of all the
- 51:17Speaker 2: other people.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Don't the Mormons believe that Jesus visited America and that
- 51:20Speaker 1: there were packaderms in America.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Allegedly, were there Pacas allegedly? They believe the Garden of
- 51:26Speaker 2: Eden is in Missouri, which.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Makes sense Kansas City, Mislourian, Yeah, exactly. So it has
- 51:33Speaker 1: a weird religion, but then all religions are weird, of course.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. And then we have Pat leaving the retreat.
- 51:40Speaker 2: She's got to go back to Utah, and Mary and
- 51:43Speaker 2: Cody cry about it on the couch because she's made
- 51:47Speaker 2: such an impact on them. I think it's because Mary's
- 51:50Speaker 2: in love with Sorry don't.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I don't think so, But I do think they regard
- 51:57Speaker 1: it as an end of an era, yeah, because they
- 52:00Speaker 1: received maybe intensive Mormon therapy from Pat for a series
- 52:04Speaker 1: of time, and now she's gone and they're stuck with Nancy.
- 52:08Speaker 1: It's just Nancy from here on out.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, which Cody doesn't like because Nancy calls out
- 52:14Speaker 2: their crap and calls out his crap specifically. And then
- 52:18Speaker 2: we have the individual counseling sessions with everybody. We start
- 52:21Speaker 2: with Janelle, who's telling Nancy that she is committed to
- 52:25Speaker 2: the family, but she's also changed as a person.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Hi, I mean, that's what you're supposed to do.
- 52:31Speaker 2: And she's also looking fab in Sodona can I just
- 52:34Speaker 2: looks great. She's look pretty fantastic.
- 52:36Speaker 1: There are sometimes when the light catches her face and
- 52:39Speaker 1: her eyes kind of light up. I'm like, you are ethereal, Yes,
- 52:42Speaker 1: you are goddess energy and vibes.
- 52:44Speaker 2: And this is where I can see where maybe Cody really.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Lis Vegas renaissance is sexual renaissance.
- 52:51Speaker 2: He's been banging her back out.
- 52:53Speaker 1: She also says that she's not into this whole mission
- 52:56Speaker 1: statement thing because it's just drama. Where's drama though?
- 53:00Speaker 2: I know why? I mean, I know it's drama.
- 53:02Speaker 1: I know it's like tedious because Christine's in charge and
- 53:05Speaker 1: she can't keep it together and you got all the
- 53:07Speaker 1: kids trying to figure out what the mission statement is,
- 53:09Speaker 1: but where's the drama in the mission statement? That's what
- 53:13Speaker 1: I wondered.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Maybe with Robin. I don't know, Like I don't know.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I can't imagine she's calling Christine out for drama, but
- 53:20Speaker 2: maybe she is. Maybe that's aside, like a little shade
- 53:23Speaker 2: there to Christine, like, oh my god, why do we
- 53:25Speaker 2: have to do this mission statement? It's stupid?
- 53:28Speaker 1: And I agree, I mean, yeah, I am Janelle in
- 53:30Speaker 1: this moment, like why do we have to We just
- 53:33Speaker 1: got into our house, Like, let me nest a little bit.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I don't want to do your dumb project, Christine. I
- 53:38Speaker 1: don't care about drama.
- 53:40Speaker 2: She also talks about how she doesn't relate to Mary
- 53:43Speaker 2: and Robin and how she's still kind of trying to
- 53:45Speaker 2: work out her relationship with Mary, which is interesting because
- 53:49Speaker 2: they don't actually work anything else.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Subtext, it's like the big issue here. I think this
- 53:53Speaker 1: is why Mary is crying. I think this is why
- 53:56Speaker 1: Mary is afraid to speak her whole drama. I think
- 53:59Speaker 1: this is why Janelle's said operated on the cow coach,
- 54:01Speaker 1: and it's fine to do so because there's something that
- 54:05Speaker 1: is continuing to brew between these two women, specifically totally.
- 54:08Speaker 1: And then Christine just agitates it oh to.
- 54:11Speaker 2: One percent with that Ari's energy. Oh my god. She
- 54:14Speaker 2: sides with Janelle too, totally, Yeah, yeah, totally, And Janelle
- 54:18Speaker 2: was probably the one brunt of Mary's BS communication. So yeah.
- 54:24Speaker 2: And then we have Mary who talks about how she
- 54:26Speaker 2: struggles with communication and struggles with trusting that the wives
- 54:31Speaker 2: actually want to work things out with her.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Can we just drill down into that because that was
- 54:36Speaker 1: a very obscure and interesting comment. She's like, well, I
- 54:40Speaker 1: want to show up and I want to work on this,
- 54:42Speaker 1: but I'm just not trusting that the other women actually
- 54:45Speaker 1: really want.
- 54:45Speaker 2: To do that. And like who is she talking about?
- 54:48Speaker 1: What is she really saying here? Like right, like is
- 54:50Speaker 1: this real?
- 54:51Speaker 2: I know?
- 54:51Speaker 1: I like here doing therapy because we really want to
- 54:53Speaker 1: go somewhere with this, because I don't want to be
- 54:55Speaker 1: vulnerable in this moment if all you're doing is performing
- 54:58Speaker 1: everybody else That's what I got.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Mmmm. So like she's talking about everybody, yes, not just
- 55:04Speaker 2: like one or two wives. Yes. And she's also referring
- 55:07Speaker 2: to Robin.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I think she also might be referring to Cody, like Cody,
- 55:10Speaker 1: are you serious about you? And I like, are you
- 55:13Speaker 1: serious about our relationship, and like, I don't know if
- 55:16Speaker 1: I want to really lay it all out there, show
- 55:19Speaker 1: all of these parts of myself. If what you're really
- 55:22Speaker 1: doing is collecting a check from DLC.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Maybe that is what she's really saying, because yeah, I mean,
- 55:27Speaker 2: this is all on camera, and like Cody and Robin
- 55:30Speaker 2: don't seem into it at all. They don't even seem to.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Like Nancy Sacy resistant to it, yep.
- 55:35Speaker 2: And so I don't know if they follow up with Nancy.
- 55:38Speaker 2: And like maybe Mary is also saying she wants to
- 55:40Speaker 2: continue in therapy, but like it's not in the family budget,
- 55:44Speaker 2: not in the family priority, and like she maybe she
- 55:47Speaker 2: wants to do therapy with Cody, but he is so
- 55:50Speaker 2: resistant to it. So maybe that's what she's saying. That's
- 55:52Speaker 2: an interesting theory. And then we have Cody out on
- 55:57Speaker 2: the patio of Robin's hotel room isact talking to Nancy
- 56:02Speaker 2: about how he's concerned that the wives don't want to
- 56:05Speaker 2: work out anything with each other and that he hopes
- 56:09Speaker 2: the mission statement will be some sort of pathway to recommitment.
- 56:14Speaker 2: And this is kind of like the opening of the recommitment.
- 56:18Speaker 1: What are you say words I care about it? I
- 56:20Speaker 1: don't care about any of these You're saying, dummy, And this.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Is like a narc trying to do therapy where it's
- 56:25Speaker 2: all surface levels exactly, and that's why you can't therapize
- 56:28Speaker 2: an art exactly.
- 56:29Speaker 1: They're not really showing up authentically in the moment.
- 56:32Speaker 2: And then we have Robin on the patio of her
- 56:33Speaker 2: hotel room when Cody in the other room talking to
- 56:36Speaker 2: Nancy and Nancy I'm dressed.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Lay and pat set love her, probably not
- 56:46Speaker 1: love Victoria's secret for sure, Victoria's secret. Yeah, just waiting
- 56:49Speaker 1: for this to wrap up. Bring your doodle. I'm ready
- 56:55Speaker 1: to get I'm pegged in doora baby, yeah, god, em
- 57:01Speaker 1: I apologize.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Well. Nancy asks Robin some kind of question of like, well,
- 57:05Speaker 2: what do you want, like what do you want out
- 57:07Speaker 2: of therapy? Sure, and Robin comes up with this really
- 57:10Speaker 2: weird answer where she talks about, well, I've lived monogamy
- 57:14Speaker 2: before I chose to live polygamy, and I just like
- 57:19Speaker 2: worry that we're going to disconnect from each other, even
- 57:22Speaker 2: in the cul de sac. And that's like my biggest fur,
- 57:25Speaker 2: that we're going to discd from each other, which I'm
- 57:28Speaker 2: just like, that is not what I signed up for. Yeah, okay,
- 57:32Speaker 2: but that's exactly what ends up happening, right.
- 57:36Speaker 1: And I wondered in this moment if she meant it,
- 57:38Speaker 1: because I kind of felt like she did. It's like
- 57:42Speaker 1: she's of two minds, like a typical libro. Okay, Yeah,
- 57:46Speaker 1: It's like she is wanting this idea of what it
- 57:50Speaker 1: would look like to have this big family and be
- 57:53Speaker 1: an integrated part of the fabric of this family. But
- 57:56Speaker 1: at the same time, she wants this man all for
- 57:58Speaker 1: herself exactly, and she wants this man all for her
- 58:01Speaker 1: kids and her kids alone, like she does not know
- 58:04Speaker 1: how to deal with that.
- 58:06Speaker 2: See, And I felt like she was saying this just
- 58:09Speaker 2: for the cameras because she wants the audience, especially at
- 58:12Speaker 2: this time, to think that she cares about the family.
- 58:15Speaker 2: She cares about these wives that she just called lazy
- 58:19Speaker 2: just a few minutes ago and said that she is
- 58:22Speaker 2: just cordial with them because her actual priority is Cody.
- 58:25Speaker 2: But now she's saying to the camera and everybody else, like,
- 58:27Speaker 2: I'm worried now we're going to disconnect as a family.
- 58:31Speaker 2: That's like my biggest fear. It's not though, because you
- 58:34Speaker 2: are prioritizing your relationship with Cody, and you are allowing
- 58:38Speaker 2: him to use all of his time at your house
- 58:43Speaker 2: and not be with the other wives because you secretly
- 58:46Speaker 2: love that. You love the fact that he is prioritizing
- 58:49Speaker 2: you and not any of the other women. So that's
- 58:52Speaker 2: why I'm like, that's totally of the two minds thing,
- 58:55Speaker 2: like she wants.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Every dy the idea of it, but she does not
- 58:58Speaker 1: want to work for it at all, and she does
- 59:00Speaker 1: not want to share, and it is showing up right now.
- 59:03Speaker 1: I think it has started to truly show up in
- 59:06Speaker 1: Vegas during the rentals, where Cody has started to prefer
- 59:10Speaker 1: her and spend more time with her. There was that
- 59:14Speaker 1: weird little comment she made a couple of episodes ago,
- 59:16Speaker 1: or like, well, when we're in our Call to Sad,
- 59:18Speaker 1: we can look at our window and we can see
- 59:21Speaker 1: what's going on and exactly where Cody is. And she's
- 59:24Speaker 1: really telling on herself there, like they can see me
- 59:27Speaker 1: and how much time I'm spending with Cody because she is.
- 59:31Speaker 1: So it's already beginning, and that's why I think we
- 59:34Speaker 1: have Mary in tears. That's why I think we have
- 59:37Speaker 1: Janelle detaching and just like I don't give a shit
- 59:39Speaker 1: act whatever and whatever. Just pay me my money. I'm
- 59:41Speaker 1: in my big mansion. It's fine, exactly. And that's why
- 59:44Speaker 1: we have Christine like not really knowing where she fits
- 59:46Speaker 1: in the family as well, because I think at this
- 59:49Speaker 1: point Christine does want to be close to Cody. Of course,
- 59:52Speaker 1: she does want to still have that kind of relationship,
- 59:55Speaker 1: but she can desperately feel how she is losing her
- 59:58Speaker 1: fitting is supplanting all of the wives and their relationships.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Like she can see it and she knows it, but
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: she can't say it, at least not on camera, not
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: for the show exactly.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: And Christine is so focused on this mission statement because
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: I think she wants to communicate to Cody like, no,
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: I do care about the family, and I care about
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: my relationships with the sister wives, and I want this
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: to work because, like I say in the title screen,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: I didn't want just the man. I wanted the family
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: and I care about this. So she's like trying to
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: communicate that to Cody, because Cody is saying that to
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: the therapist and saying that to the other wives, like
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: I want you guys to be focused on the family.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: I want you to be focused on each other. I
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: can't be the common denominator. Christine is communicating that, and
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: she is doing that, but it's proving to be not enough.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: That's not enough because she doesn't got that breakdance and punami.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Nope, she ain't wearing the Diesel jeans hot No, she
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: hate And.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Then we get to the most interesting part of the
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: episode for me in my opinion, Yes, the part where
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: they're in the circle together and Nancy wants them all
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: to position themselves and how they relate to their closeness
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: to Cody or like, how they think that they are closest.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: It's not really clear, actually, because I rewounded a couple
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: of times. I'm like, are we trying to position ourselves
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: in the orbit around Cody or are we like positioning
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: ourselves around each other? Like what are we doing here?
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: It wasn't clear. But at the end of the day,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: it ends up being that the women are positioning themselves
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: according to their perceived closeness to Cody. And we have
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: Robin right up next to him, holding his hand, holding
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: his hand, and then grabbing Mary's hand. Truly and literally,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: the bridge between Mary and Cody was actually accurate. Yes,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: it's accurate. She's like I'm the bridge between you and Cody,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: because without me you would have nothing, bitch, And don't
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: ever forget it, Do not ever forget. And then Janelle's like,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: I'm just gonna stand over here, though, yep, on the side,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I'm going to stand all the way over here. And
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: then Christine initially goes to stand by Janelle and she's like,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: you know what, no, let me go stand behind Cody. Yeah,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: and then she turns away from him, so they're back
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: to back.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: What did you make of that?
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: I mean that she feels like they're on two different
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: playing fields, like they're not even looking at each other.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: He's in the basement totally.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: She is the least favorite. I mean, you even see
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: that kind of echoed at the very beginning when he
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: gives her the necklace, like she's the last one. He
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: gives it to Mary, to Janelle, then to Robin, and
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: then Christine's last, and she's the worst necklace.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: You know what I mean, The phoenix is objectively the worst.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: They're all bad. Yeah, but like you know, it's kind
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: of already being communicated passively that Christine's the least favorite.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Now he don't like her, and he's also surprised that
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Christine feels so disconnected and far away from him. He's like, really,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: that's how you feel as he's holding Robin's hand. It's crazy.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: And Robin said something at the beginning like this isn't safe.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: I don't know what this is safe for us to
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: do right now, because she knows, Like you have to know, Robin,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: that you're the favorite. She knows. He probably tells you
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: that all the time. Now she knows, and now we
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: know that she knows exactly. So miss me with this
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: whole You're so clueless. You don't know how all the
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: other women feel, like, come on.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: And honestly, like, let's be real with the timeline, because
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: even though this is season six, it's only been like
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: two to three years since Robin's been with this family.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: It has not been a long time. And in that time,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: she has risen in the stratosphere to be the closest
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: wife to Cody, and all the other wives know this.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: At least Janelle doesn't care that much. But I think
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Mary cares. I think Christine cares yep, And I think
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: this is kind of the origin story of Mary and Robin,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: because Mary needs Robin in order to have any standing
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: whatsoever with Cody. And it gets critical when the catfish happens,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: because there's the redemption, there's the forgiveness, there's the staying
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: married part, which Robin facilitates to some degree. Like without Robin,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: there is no Mary. Mary is gone, honey, yep, Mary's
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: moving on out of this family.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: And it's like so sad that Mary is kind of
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: accepting it, even in this moment, because I think Mary
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: was like at first confused of where she was going
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: to place herself in relation to Cody. And then Robin
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: is the one that's like, well, here, how about this.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: I'll hold Cody's hand, you hold my hand? Does that
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: feel good? Like she literally asks Mary if that's okay?
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: And can I just tell you how bad that would
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: feel if I'm the legal wife. I am the first wife.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I married this man at nineteen years old, and here
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I stand at forty three years old, and I need
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: this little chippy to grab my hand and say, look,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I'll be the bridge between you. Like that would feel
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: so disempowering and disenfranchising to me, Like who the F
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: do you think you are? Lady? Straight up, this is
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: my life. This is my husband that I've had for
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: two three decades.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah, and because Mary is the truth teller, she's
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: feeling all of that but can't communicate it and can't
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: say it like Janelle and Christine are feeling it too,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: because you have to be dumb to look at how
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: this is set up, and like, see how Robin is
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: holding Cody's hand, Like she's constantly touching him and constantly
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: pulling him to her side.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: The entire time during therapy she was sitting next to him.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: She was right next to him the whole time.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Yes, like it's obvious, and like after they position themselves
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: and how they feel towards Cody, then it changes to okay,
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: well how do you want to feel? Like where would
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: you like to be placed? And Robin doesn't move Mary.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: I mean right, she's already the closest one. She's holding
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: his hands.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Well, there's a weird conversation that happens between Cody and
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Mary here where Mary's like, well, but I'm different from
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: all of you, because Christine says something like, well, I
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: have a bond with Janelle because we both have kids
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: and they grew up with each other. And then Mary says, yeah,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: but I'm different because I have Leon and Leon's leaving,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: and so I'm in this weird position, and it was
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: a great opportunity in that moment for Mary to actually
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: share to the group how she feels yep, because she
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: doesn't know where she stands with everybody. But Cody kind
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: of sweeps in and says, well, but like it's your responsibility,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: like you have these relationships with these women, and like
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: that's your thing. And she's like, well, I know, and
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: I do have relationships, and he's like, are they good?
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Some of He's like, some of them are good. Yeah, Okay,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: So what are you really saying here, Kray? I feel
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: like Cody's trying to shine the light on Mary's behavior,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: right with maybe Janelle and maybe Christine. I don't it
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: can't be with Robin No, because Mary's friends with Robin yep.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: So I'm wondering what Cody's trying to do in this moment,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: why he can't just let Mary have this no, and
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: he's like trying to blame her for the destruction between
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the relationships with the sister Wise, that's what I got,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: and that's what was interesting because in season sixteen, seventeen
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: eight to ninety he's blaming Janelle and Christine for that
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: as well, so like he's blaming all three of them.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: But in this moment in season six, it seems like
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the spotline is mainly on Mary, like Mary's the problem.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: I feel like Mary's the problem though, because like I
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: think in seasons fifteen sixteen, when they go to therapy
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: again and they're sitting down, it's after the catfish, it's
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: before COVID. He's like, but you lied to me though,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: you told me you were somebody that you were not,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: and we never learned what exactly that was about. And
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: we've learned now in season nineteen that he made a
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: list for her, like You've got to do all of
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: these things in order to gain back my good favor. Yeah,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Like there's something here that we're not actually talking about,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: and in this moment, there's something that Cody's accusing Mary of. Yeah,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: but do you have good relationships with them though, because
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: you don't write, and she's like, well, some of them
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I do. I'm like, Okay, what's happening.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: There's probably a couple of things going on here, Like
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: maybe Mary is at fault for some of the destruction
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: of these relationships indeed, but like maybe she's also the
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: scapegoat right now with Cody, like because there's always a
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: golden and there's always a scapegoat, right and so maybe
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Mary is kind of the scapegoat right now, and then
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: also Christine and Janelle become that too, and Robin's of
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: course the golden of course the golden, yes, because she's
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: the phoenix rise. Yeah, it was just really interesting and
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: so awkward, this whole like sculpture, moving sculpture thing. And
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: I just couldn't take my eyes off of Robin holding
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Cody's hand the entire time. The other woman had to
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: have seen that and felt that and felt like wow,
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: like I can't even feel like I can hold his
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: hand right here. I don't even feel close to him.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: And when they position themselves and how they want to
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: be in relation to Cody, Janelle wants to be right
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: in front of him, and then Christine is right next
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: to Janelle, right in front of him, but she's also
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: kind of like turned towards Robin in a way, like
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: almost kind of like she's trying to block Robin from Cody,
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: which was interesting, and Mary's still off on the sideline.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: I don't know. It was just very interesting, very symbolic
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: and then they put their foreheads together because that's how
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: they want to be connected all And Cody doesn't want
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: to be the common denominator and I don't care.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Well he doesn't want to be in the center of
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: the circle, which is so weird. But you signed up
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: for exactly that though, Hello, Like, I know you don't
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: want to have to do this emotion emotional heavy lifting
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: that you say that you constantly do, which you actually
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: do not do. But that is like what you signed
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: up for. In a polygan's marriage, you are the anchor.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: You are the roots to this entire family. Like and
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: if you didn't want that, you should not have done
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: this right, you cannot now abdicate your responsibility to all
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: these other women that don't even know where they really
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: stand with you because you are not clear. You're not
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: a good patriarch, You're not a good husband, You're not
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: a good father.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Oh, I was gonna say, I can understand where he
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: was saying, Like he wants the family to survive even
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: after he died. Yes, like I can understand he wants
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: the women to get along because they are the family.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: They created the family, they have all the kids and
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: stuff like so they do have to kind of like
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: cohabitate and get along. But the thing is is that
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Cody is at the root of that, because if they
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: all had a good relationship with Cody, they would be
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: all able to get along with each other. But because
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: it's all unequal, there's the jealousy and the insecurity and
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: all of these things.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: And where's the money going, and how are we paying
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Logan's college? And how are we going to pay for Leon?
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Like nobody knows what's going on.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: And that's what's like missing in Cody's head is that
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: you are the common denominator dude, Like you do have
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: to have relationships with all the wives so they can
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: have good relationships with each other, but it's Cody Brown,
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: so it's never gonna He's never gonna lie.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Was so good, like you could really see it so clear,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: so everything that was dysfunctional and problematic in this relationship,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: and it was also so wild to see how none
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: of them really could see that at all.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, wow, Janelle, you're standing right in
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: front of Cody, right, this is where you want to
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: you want it right in front of Cody, But like wow,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: and at the end, of the day like you never
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: were uh uh, and you walk away with almost nothing,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: almost nothing, yep, for as strong as you are in
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: this moment with all of your opinions, which is crazy.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: And maybe that's why they had their renaissance because that
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: kept her at bay. Maybe she thought like she had
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: some kind of power or some kind of place in
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: the in the family for a while.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: And I think she wanted it, Like I think there's
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: a valid part of her that really wants this. She
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: does in this moment season six, believe in it. Yeah,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: but this is going to start to wane. Oh, she's
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: going to start to get really disillusioned with how everything
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: is working out. Honey. By the time we get to Flagstaff,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: she's like, do so I choose my kids?
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: F you? Yeah?
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Buye Cody rightly so, which.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: Is so great. It's nice to see at least Janelle's
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: r throughout it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: And we know that in good faith she was there.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: It's not like she was just sticking there for like
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: the money or the cul de sac or whatever. Like,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: in good faith was she there, But like Cody, you
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: blew it, Honey. I just want to stand ten toes
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: down in my statement that she's the one that got
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: away for COVID. Oh, I mean out of all of
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: the women, she is of the highest value in my opinion, agree,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: like across the board, in every single way, high value woman.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: And she walked away from she didn't even tell you
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: she was leaving, like, I'm just going, duddie, How do
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: need to tell you anything? Ooh, how that must have
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: caught him? Oh totally, so well done.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Janelle, Oh, totally yeah, yes, I loved it. And then
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: we have the last day in Sedona. We're at a rooftop. Yeah,
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: we're drawing on some chalk blocks, are we Yeah? Okay
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: about their family mission statement words. And they put it
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: all together and you see how Robin's like sew not
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: into it and off on the sideline because she doesn't
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: trust Nancy okay, because she's a monogamous all right, she
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: doesn't understand polygamy. And then they do their mission statement thing.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: Christina is so happy because this is all she wanted.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Why, I don't know who cares.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Janelle and Mary have like a little argument over the
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: arrangement of the blocks, right, and Janelle feels empowered because
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: she shared her opinion about the arrangement of the blocks
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: because that was such a big deal to her.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: But maybe it is a big deal for her to
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: stand up to marry. Mary wants it maybe symmetrical and
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: an actual cube, and Janelle's like, I don't give a
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: crap about that. It can be all chaotic and I
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: stand on that, and Mary's okay. God, maybe for Janelle
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: that was an empowering moment.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: Maybe hey, whatever. And then they take their photo with
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: all their feet in there.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: And that's gross and it is gross.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: I find that gross, Like we don't need to have
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: our feet no in this photo, but you know whatever.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: And then they end the episode talking about how they're
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: going to have a recommitment ceremony with this mission statement,
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: which I think.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: They do well they do, but they're talking about like
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: how this mission statement is a building block towards a
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: recommitment ceremony. I'm like, I don't care. I don't care
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: talk about all the other stuff. We don't need a ceremony.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: This must be like a curse thing for TLC, Like
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: all these families that do these recommitment ceremonies break up,
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: like the Goslins did the same thing.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: I know, and I think at the end of this season,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: which by the way, next episodes a tell all.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but then we have extras.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Then we have like a whole other season which is
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: classified as still season six, which ends with the commitments
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: that were like, it's so much snoring, honey, I'm tired.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: It's a lot. Thank god. We have season nineteen this
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: weekend coming back. Yes, that'll be interesting.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Yes, maybe, I hope so I do. We'll see what happens.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: We're definitely going to be back for that, and we
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: hope that you're going to be joining us.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Now, is there anything else that we need to say
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: to these beautiful raccoons. I can't believe how long we've
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: wait have been talking a lot.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: This was a good episode, it was there was so
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: many layer there was so much trash it adults, yep.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: But is there anything else that we need to forget
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: a bridge?
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, please go to your

- 1:15:00Speaker 1: We will be back next week to get back into
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: season nineteen and all the chaos that comes with that.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: So make sure we come back for that. Until then,
