Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Stoopy radio, just hopping around Nantucket and now I find
- 0:04Speaker 1: myself in rocking chairs out front of the place we're
- 0:07Speaker 1: staying with with one of my good friends, Vick Henley Vic.
- 0:11Speaker 2: This is this is quite the spot man.
- 0:13Speaker 3: We're at the beach side Nanchuck It.
- 0:15Speaker 4: Yeah place so you can find it on Instagram and
- 0:18Speaker 4: on Facebook and Twitter and everything. And yes, but you're
- 0:20Speaker 4: in rocking chairs contemplating on They have bikes if you
- 0:24Speaker 4: want to just get a bike and go on a
- 0:25Speaker 4: bike rind. If you want a chair, they give you
- 0:26Speaker 4: the chairy and go to the beach one hundred yards
- 0:28Speaker 4: that way as the beach.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We should do a quick advertisement because this place is
- 0:32Speaker 1: really awesome.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It has a nice pool.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It's family oriented this place, and all the rooms kind
- 0:37Speaker 1: of face around the pool, so it's very social. And
- 0:41Speaker 1: then yeah, you can rent bikes. And then the nearest
- 0:43Speaker 1: beach I think is only a mile or two found
- 0:44Speaker 1: here now.
- 0:45Speaker 3: It's probably two hundred yards down here. Isn't really that
- 0:47Speaker 3: Quety's Beach is two hundred yards Is it a nice beach?
- 0:49Speaker 3: It's great beach. Yeah, I don't literally. There's a beach bar,
- 0:52Speaker 3: food everything right there, right down there.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Oh man, because less times in Nantucket. I was just
- 0:56Speaker 1: talking to my wife about this. I think it's been
- 0:58Speaker 1: like twelve years, maybe longer out. Yeah, I used to
- 1:02Speaker 1: love coming to this place when I lived in Boston
- 1:04Speaker 1: and we used to rent mopeds. Sure, and when me
- 1:08Speaker 1: and my wife were dating, we rented the mopeds and went.
- 1:10Speaker 4: To like the far beaches surf Shot.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Surf Shot is my favorite one.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Yeah, Cisco Brewery if you're plugging things, Cisco Brewer, which
- 1:18Speaker 4: they'd make vodka and beer. They're the island ruler of
- 1:21Speaker 4: anything alcoholic and it's delicious. Yeah, and uh, Cisco Brewery
- 1:25Speaker 4: is on the way to surf Shod and uh that's
- 1:28Speaker 4: a great beach.
- 1:29Speaker 3: And Madeket beaches are also great.
- 1:30Speaker 1: So the surf side of the one where the surfers
- 1:33Speaker 1: are yes, okay, so well you know, fair enough, but
- 1:38Speaker 1: there's a lot of hyakers are fair enough, but there's
- 1:41Speaker 1: a lot of uh, there's a lot of surfing that
- 1:43Speaker 1: goes on on the island. So no, is it like
- 1:45Speaker 1: the main one? Yes, all right, that's the one I
- 1:47Speaker 1: went to with my mope, with my wife.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And it was also when.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I learned that I'm not uh uh an athlete. Anymore
- 1:55Speaker 1: on that level because I went in with just a
- 1:57Speaker 1: boogie board. The waves are ridiculously big, yeah, and it's
- 2:01Speaker 1: exciting and if you got youth on your side, you
- 2:03Speaker 1: can more than handle it. But you're a little older
- 2:05Speaker 1: on a on a.
- 2:06Speaker 3: On you learned that day on board where I.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Did because I was breathing really heavy.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I was really working.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Very hard on that beach that day, and I came
- 2:15Speaker 1: out of the surf remembering, Man, that was one of
- 2:18Speaker 1: the first signs.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm like, man, I'm getting old.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I used to do this in my sleep and not
- 2:22Speaker 1: even think twice back on Long Island.
- 2:24Speaker 4: You're still better than me because at my peak fitness,
- 2:27Speaker 4: at whatever the age that was twenty two, I couldn't
- 2:30Speaker 4: even write a boogie board.
- 2:31Speaker 3: So the fact that you have no balance, I can't skate,
- 2:34Speaker 3: I'm an idiot. I fall down.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I Well, you don't need to bounce for a boogie board.
- 2:37Speaker 4: You need you need to not be able to step
- 2:39Speaker 4: on it and fall flat on your ass every time
- 2:41Speaker 4: you put one foot on it.
- 2:42Speaker 2: No, no boogie boards.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You're you mean the one you hold the glad?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh, I wasn't doing anything crazy.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Totument the one you throw in you run to jump
- 2:48Speaker 3: on it and slid.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 1: No, but oh the skimmers yeah, okay, yeah, the skimmers
- 2:52Speaker 1: are a little rough.
- 2:53Speaker 2: You could you could absolutely break a hip at our age.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Try the skimmers.
- 2:56Speaker 1: No, it's just a boogiey board. But the waves are
- 2:58Speaker 1: are pretty tremendous and then far out too, so you
- 3:01Speaker 1: get you get tossed around a lot, and and you
- 3:03Speaker 1: got to be in pretty damn good shape.
- 3:05Speaker 4: There's two sandbars here lately, down here at Jennie's, so
- 3:08Speaker 4: about thirty forty yards off shores one sandbar and then
- 3:11Speaker 4: another fifty yards beyond that's another one.
- 3:13Speaker 3: So it's all I've been watching for the past couple
- 3:15Speaker 3: of days.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Is it's weird to look so far out and see
- 3:18Speaker 4: like a five year old bopping around.
- 3:19Speaker 3: It's only ankle deep.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I love all of and then took it.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Also, I remember, man, if you want to see sharks,
- 3:26Speaker 1: oh yeah, wow, they're they're whistling a lot on some
- 3:30Speaker 1: of the beaches, on the outskirts.
- 3:31Speaker 3: They have them on the T shirt for a reason.
- 3:33Speaker 3: They own it, they told me. But they're there. Where
- 3:35Speaker 3: there are seals, there are sharks, right.
- 3:38Speaker 4: And so my buddy Matt, he was swimming where he's
- 3:40Speaker 4: staying the other day, he and his girl, and he
- 3:42Speaker 4: was hardly anybody who was in the ocean. And he
- 3:43Speaker 4: looked over and he thought it was his girlfriend behind him,
- 3:45Speaker 4: and a seal just swim right behind, like touched his shoulder,
- 3:48Speaker 4: swam right by him.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So cool, he goes, I wanted to retacle. They'll bite,
- 3:52Speaker 3: you know, they will bite.
- 3:53Speaker 2: They're mean, They're very mean.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah, he had no idea, and he's he's sort of
- 3:57Speaker 4: from the cave, but he'd never been that close to one.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I'm not a I don't know.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm not a marine biologist, but I think I would
- 4:04Speaker 1: rather swim close to a shark than a seal. Who knows,
- 4:08Speaker 1: because sharks, for the most part, they only bite because
- 4:11Speaker 1: they bump into you and they got to know what
- 4:13Speaker 1: you are, so they take a taste. Right, I think
- 4:15Speaker 1: seals would absolutely attack you just right.
- 4:19Speaker 2: So maybe someone.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Could correct me on that, but I don't know.
- 4:22Speaker 4: All I had was the Jeopardy idiot me. Fact of
- 4:25Speaker 4: the difference between the seal and the sea lion. Ah,
- 4:29Speaker 4: sea lion has a little tiny ears, right, seals have
- 4:31Speaker 4: no ears.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I didn't know, so that's it. But the sea lion.
- 4:34Speaker 3: That's the main. That's how you tell is little they're
- 4:37Speaker 3: gonna have a little tiny here. The sea lion has a.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Little bit of which one looks like a UFC fighter, Uh,
- 4:42Speaker 1: both of them.
- 4:44Speaker 3: The seal because he has no ears to go with
- 4:48Speaker 3: the seal.
- 4:48Speaker 1: You know you're looking at a tough guy when you
- 4:50Speaker 1: know they had the college follower years.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Oh you don't want to mess with that.
- 4:53Speaker 4: No. My buddy Greg Warren was a wrestler and all
- 4:57Speaker 4: Americans at University Missouri the same thing.
- 4:59Speaker 3: One of his is just completely just a mess. Yes,
- 5:02Speaker 3: he's got jokes about it. He's real funny about it. Yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 3: got all kinds of.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Oh no, those guys they walk around and that's like
- 5:07Speaker 1: that's a sign of I don't know, pride.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I guess it's like the hockey player. If you're not
- 5:11Speaker 4: missing anything, you ain't playing any hockey, right, right, you
- 5:13Speaker 4: got to be at least one So absolutely, you know,
- 5:16Speaker 4: oh absolutely, what are you coming in here with a
- 5:18Speaker 4: full set of top.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Of what's up with the flowers? Man?
- 5:21Speaker 3: I drained his baby. We were talking about this the
- 5:23Speaker 3: other day a little bit.
- 5:24Speaker 4: So the pink and we have we have two colors
- 5:27Speaker 4: on one bush we have, we have three.
- 5:29Speaker 3: We have pink, the purple, and the blue.
- 5:30Speaker 1: What's the big deal if you got to pink, the purple,
- 5:33Speaker 1: and the blue.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Because they're supposed to all be usually all come out
- 5:38Speaker 4: one color, one bush and so, but if you got
- 5:40Speaker 4: the right yard, man, you can get all the colors
- 5:43Speaker 4: on one bush.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Which so is that a rich status symbol? To make
- 5:45Speaker 1: sure you got all three colors?
- 5:47Speaker 3: I think when your bush, yeah, how much you got?
- 5:49Speaker 4: You think there's spending money on your landscape, and look
- 5:51Speaker 4: what I've got just turns into it like everything in
- 5:53Speaker 4: this island turns into a one upsman.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Sure somehow, I don't think there's a house on this
- 5:58Speaker 1: island that's less than a million dollars, even this little
- 6:00Speaker 1: tiny shock, especially close to town. I was looking at
- 6:04Speaker 1: some you know, you walk by those real estate places
- 6:06Speaker 1: with the pictures on.
- 6:07Speaker 2: The on the glass.
- 6:09Speaker 1: There's thirty forty million dollar estates here, and they probably
- 6:13Speaker 1: go way higher than that.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Right, they'll tear they'll tire down a thirty million dollar
- 6:17Speaker 4: house to put up a sixty million dollars. Wow, just
- 6:20Speaker 4: level it instead of adding it on and just turning
- 6:23Speaker 4: your thirty into a sixty, Right, tire, the whole thing
- 6:25Speaker 4: down the ground Bill something to on the.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Spot, and I bet you the you know, the real
- 6:28Speaker 1: estate people here, they just go. They just make up
- 6:30Speaker 1: a number. Sure because your clientele here they don't care.
- 6:33Speaker 1: They don't look at the price tech.
- 6:35Speaker 4: My favorite thing about this is when you meet somebody,
- 6:37Speaker 4: the last name is usually the last name, like if
- 6:40Speaker 4: you hey, my name is Bill Campbell. Oh, as of
- 6:43Speaker 4: Campbell soup. Oh, they're every time you meet someone the
- 6:47Speaker 4: other day. Flynn had lunch the other day with I
- 6:49Speaker 4: think Fred Wrigley. The Wrigley family owns the Cubs, right
- 6:53Speaker 4: and you know everything.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But if you know what Wriglely anywhere else in the world,
- 6:57Speaker 1: he wouldn't even consider that it would be them here. Yes,
- 7:00Speaker 1: they're the They're the main.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yes, my name is Dan Reynolds, as in rentals right right,
- 7:05Speaker 4: every time went in out, Yes, it's them.
- 7:09Speaker 3: It's basically how it goes. It's so crazy.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 1: The one thing I love about Nantucket I forgot all
- 7:13Speaker 1: about this too, is all the vintage jeeps that everyone has,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and they're all different. I was walking around with Carl
- 7:21Speaker 1: when we were checking about Carl's been taking pictures of
- 7:24Speaker 1: all the all the jeeps, every every other one is
- 7:27Speaker 1: like extremely unique and different. If you go to his
- 7:30Speaker 1: Instagram suport Chef, he posted a lot of the pictures,
- 7:33Speaker 1: or you can google image it. It's definitely worth doing
- 7:35Speaker 1: because you're looking at jeeps that look brand new, that
- 7:38Speaker 1: are from like the seventies, the sixties.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Probably from ESPN. It's his joke, but he always goes.
- 7:46Speaker 4: He calls it the gang warfare, and he's like, it's
- 7:48Speaker 4: the range Rovers versus the land Rovers.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's gang warfare on man Tucket. This is not the
- 7:53Speaker 3: grips in the blood.
- 7:56Speaker 2: He's not.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Bob's got.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Bob's other great line is uh he we have a
- 8:01Speaker 4: three New York comics and three Boston comics on the
- 8:03Speaker 4: Saturday Night show here we talked to SmackDown.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and Bob host.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Every year for.
- 8:10Speaker 2: He's gonna be dead, sir, No kidding.
- 8:13Speaker 3: The road runs out right there, so I don't know where.
- 8:15Speaker 2: He thinks he was flying by.
- 8:17Speaker 1: He's about to hit, saying I used to feel sorry
- 8:19Speaker 1: for those motorcycle crashes, but then you know you're living enough,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and you see those guys. We've been in and out
- 8:24Speaker 1: of traffic going ninety one hundred miles an hour.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You're like, I'm starting to think that.
- 8:28Speaker 1: They cause their own deaths in most cases. No problem.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Maybe that's controversial. I shouldn't say.
- 8:32Speaker 3: That, but I don't know.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Don't be crazy on anything, right, And then I don't
- 8:36Speaker 4: feel if I feel bad for you if it's an accident,
- 8:38Speaker 4: but if you're the guy standing on one foot and
- 8:40Speaker 4: trying to do it weedy at ninety miles an hour.
- 8:42Speaker 3: With no helmet, Yeah then okay, fine.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Those videos are pretty cool to show.
- 8:45Speaker 3: They're amazing, kind of cool. I agree, yes, but it
- 8:49Speaker 3: makes me nervous.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Did you see that Evil can Evil horse shit?
- 8:52Speaker 2: The other night? I thought it was in your wheelhouse.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I thought about it, and then I enjoyed watching the
- 8:57Speaker 4: trailers for it and seeing the original crash and all
- 8:59Speaker 4: the bones that he broke and everything they pointed out. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 4: of course I figured he'd make it. Astrodo's done a
- 9:04Speaker 4: lot of crazy things. I figured it'd be all right.
- 9:05Speaker 1: He has, and you got to give him a credit
- 9:08Speaker 1: for that. But those three evil Canevel jumps, they were
- 9:10Speaker 1: basic and easy because it's all science now. Certainly, when
- 9:15Speaker 1: Evil Cadiebral did it, we all watched because we knew
- 9:17Speaker 1: he was going to crash, and Evil Kniebel understood the
- 9:21Speaker 1: crash was really important, right, And the ramps he used,
- 9:26Speaker 1: like Evil Knievel had much narrower ramps. Now they're using
- 9:29Speaker 1: these ramps where they're as wide as like, I don't know,
- 9:33Speaker 1: a landing strip.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Well, and the material the yeah, the physics, the engineering,
- 9:37Speaker 4: the materials, it's forty five years more modern, so really
- 9:42Speaker 4: reduces I.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Mean, Evil Knevel had experts for the time, but they
- 9:46Speaker 1: didn't have computers and all that, and a lot of
- 9:47Speaker 1: times it was like, I don't know, I guess if
- 9:49Speaker 1: you can get it up to seventy five miles an
- 9:51Speaker 1: hour when it hit that ramp, we should be good,
- 9:52Speaker 1: we hope, And yeah, there was a lot of we
- 9:55Speaker 1: should be.
- 9:57Speaker 4: I still love that movie, the old movie from the
- 9:59Speaker 4: segment George Hamill. I love it in the cheesy bad Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 4: of course you stay. He's standing at the beginning of something.
- 10:06Speaker 4: I was still my brother thought it was cool that
- 10:08Speaker 4: he would somewhere in the first five minutes he's standing
- 10:10Speaker 4: there and he's like, you know, the.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Fear is not in my vocabulary.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta see that again.
- 10:16Speaker 4: It's it's awful like you said, but but I mean
- 10:19Speaker 4: he's jeesey seventies bad.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I think in a good one.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yea.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Evil was the best stuff.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Bobby Canevel, but that was his name and Robbie's his son.
- 10:26Speaker 1: No, I know, they didn't even mention, uh, Robbie can Eevil,
- 10:31Speaker 1: which I thought, and he did all of this. Joe did, yes, yes, easily.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I think I didn't think that was that new a
- 10:36Speaker 4: thing for Astrona because I thought Robbie Canievel had.
- 10:38Speaker 1: All Robbie did all the jumps, but how they spun
- 10:40Speaker 1: that was like, you know, well these jumps they didn't
- 10:43Speaker 1: even mention my name, but they're like, well, these jumps
- 10:45Speaker 1: may have been done since you have a can eevil,
- 10:46Speaker 1: but they haven't. No one used the equipment. That's kind
- 10:49Speaker 1: of close to when Evil did it, like the bike
- 10:52Speaker 1: was heavier and all that.
- 10:52Speaker 4: But that's the difference between being you know, Evil and Robbie. Right,
- 10:57Speaker 4: you just never even though you're doing it, you know,
- 11:00Speaker 4: will be Don hoss Son, John Hope, Well, yes, trying
- 11:03Speaker 4: to be the King of Hawaii.
- 11:04Speaker 3: There's only one done.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Well.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean Robbie's jumps were more impressive, I think so,
- 11:08Speaker 1: but but he had. He had science and computers on
- 11:11Speaker 1: his side, and that's what that's why you know he
- 11:14Speaker 1: wasn't as successful as his dad, I think, And I
- 11:16Speaker 1: don't think he had any major crashes, did he? I don't,
- 11:18Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Possibly, you think Evil Knevil and you see the slow
- 11:23Speaker 1: motion the footage of him going over the handlebars, the.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Legs going you really can see every bone in both
- 11:29Speaker 4: of his legs breaking, shattering like glass. And then the
- 11:32Speaker 4: one at the Cow Palace in San Francisco is also
- 11:35Speaker 4: another class.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Course.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Those are the seizures in the Cow Palace, I think
- 11:38Speaker 3: are the two.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I think the Cow Palace was the one where the
- 11:40Speaker 1: bike kind of I think so, I think that's the
- 11:43Speaker 1: slow motion one where the bike had a mind of
- 11:45Speaker 1: its own. It's like, oh, you think this is bad evil,
- 11:47Speaker 1: Watch what the bike does now, just just tumbles over
- 11:51Speaker 1: a whole bunch of times. But then when you think
- 11:53Speaker 1: Robbie caniebel you don't have any memory of a classic
- 11:56Speaker 1: of classic crash.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I remember setiling through the iron landing.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Yeah, basically, well were you saying before the motorcycle guy
- 12:02Speaker 1: went by it, we went off on a tangent. The comics.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Bos said, did you finish that?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Oh?
- 12:07Speaker 3: I was no, I was gonna say, Bob leeve we
- 12:09Speaker 3: were talking about the game.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, I know Bob. Bob's Bob's jokes. He hosts
- 12:14Speaker 4: for us and he is his main joke. And he wait,
- 12:16Speaker 4: he won't do it every year. He saved it like
- 12:18Speaker 4: a good comic. He waits a couple of years and
- 12:20Speaker 4: they'll bring it back out. But he's like, all, welcome
- 12:23Speaker 4: to Nantucket for the annual running.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Of the White People.
- 12:29Speaker 4: He has the and he has the gang Warfares, not
- 12:31Speaker 4: the crips in the boods. It's the land Rovers versus
- 12:33Speaker 4: the range Rovers. And then I'm trying to think of
- 12:35Speaker 4: the other one. But he's got Yeah, he's got three
- 12:37Speaker 4: or four good staples. He's a great guy, and it
- 12:39Speaker 4: was funny the other night ESPN has the work doesn't
- 12:43Speaker 4: have the World Cup for the first time ever. So
- 12:45Speaker 4: Bob the voice of soccer and America for thirty five years.
- 12:48Speaker 4: He's antsy, he's got nothing, so it's funny to watch him.
- 12:51Speaker 4: And he wants to be mean to the people on Fox,
- 12:54Speaker 4: but he's so nice and classy that but he's still
- 12:57Speaker 4: it's funny to watch me.
- 12:59Speaker 1: That was his kiy, Yes, that was his.
- 13:01Speaker 4: So asked him, I'm like, are you watching this when
- 13:03Speaker 4: it first started three weeks ago?
- 13:05Speaker 3: I go, I mean for go.
- 13:05Speaker 4: First of all, am I the eight hundred person that
- 13:08Speaker 4: has asked you are you watching this?
- 13:09Speaker 3: Yeah? And then and are you yeah?
- 13:11Speaker 4: And he wrote a six hundred and forty third as me,
- 13:14Speaker 4: and he was jam but I'm watching on Telemundo.
- 13:17Speaker 3: And I go, me too, because I do try to
- 13:19Speaker 3: watch a lot of the game.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm telling them, but why watch on? Tell them just
- 13:22Speaker 2: because they're more exciting?
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and they know more about the game, They're more informative.
- 13:25Speaker 1: But you're real Spanish.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Bob knows enough that he can actually listen, okay, and
- 13:29Speaker 4: so I don't care. I know KBS that means head right,
- 13:33Speaker 4: you figure that out.
- 13:34Speaker 1: So why do you like soccer so much?
- 13:36Speaker 5: I still can't get into it.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I watch a little World Cup like everyone else, and
- 13:39Speaker 1: then when the world comes over, I say to myself,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna start watching more.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Was that Ron White on a moped.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Holding his hat as he goes into town?
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm serious, that was Ron White.
- 13:49Speaker 3: He had his hat on yesterday when we saw him
- 13:51Speaker 3: totally possibly.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Roun Wait, I just went by on a moped holding
- 13:56Speaker 1: his hat so it doesn't blow away.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Was there anybody else on it with him? No? Oh,
- 14:01Speaker 3: I don't know that.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It might not have been.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Well this well you know what these are a hotshat
- 14:05Speaker 4: drab and then yes, okay, well there's a lot of
- 14:07Speaker 4: guys on Nantucket that look exactly like so that could.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Have been anybody.
- 14:12Speaker 1: But he had a huge beach hat that it was
- 14:14Speaker 1: probably a thousand dollars hat that this guy was holding
- 14:17Speaker 1: down as he flew by us on a boat.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Pat those shoes, remember those shoes we saw him and
- 14:20Speaker 4: they had on the other there. They are one of
- 14:22Speaker 4: the kind he bought him in town. And the dude
- 14:24Speaker 4: makes them out of rugs. So the dude deliverly chops
- 14:27Speaker 4: something these rugs.
- 14:29Speaker 1: It looks like he makes them out of rugs.
- 14:30Speaker 3: It's it's exactly what she said.
- 14:32Speaker 1: There's nothing special about those shoes they wear.
- 14:34Speaker 4: They're all different because it's all different rugs that the
- 14:37Speaker 4: guy's cutting up.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So no pair is the same technically.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Because how much do you think he paid for those words?
- 14:43Speaker 3: Telling dollars?
- 14:46Speaker 2: I would guess that one.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And they looked terrible, but none of us were braving
- 14:51Speaker 1: enough to tell them.
- 14:51Speaker 3: But he explained it perfectly. You remember what he said.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Yeah, but he only he buys the crazy tacking stuff
- 14:57Speaker 4: and only wears it in the place, right, and then
- 14:59Speaker 4: he'll probably never wear again.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Will he take it home with him or will he
- 15:02Speaker 2: just leave it? Who knows?
- 15:03Speaker 4: He does a lot of both. I've seen him a
- 15:05Speaker 4: callback and have things shipped to him. I've seen him
- 15:07Speaker 4: everything about something else again.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Well, I mean he has very disposable lifestyle.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You you wanted off last night and we continued our
- 15:16Speaker 1: journey and Carl and Sharrod were wearing the terry cloth
- 15:20Speaker 1: Nantucket hoodies and so they decide.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I needed one.
- 15:24Speaker 3: True. So they're expensive, man, They're like one hundred dollars.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You know, I care about, like like money and not
- 15:32Speaker 1: being ripped off and stuff. It's an expensive hoodie and
- 15:36Speaker 1: it was bought just so we could all have the
- 15:38Speaker 1: hoodies on at the same time for one picture. And
- 15:41Speaker 1: I'll never wear this thing again. I'm gonna bring it home.
- 15:44Speaker 2: But I don't even think my wife will wear it.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I saw it.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It really is soft and nice.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but I.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Mean we looked like a very aging boy band member when.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I walked in the When I walked in the bar
- 15:57Speaker 4: and you saw it, Yes, that's exactly what I thought.
- 16:00Speaker 4: I'm like, Okay, if I had one of these, that
- 16:01Speaker 4: really would now there would be four just sad old man.
- 16:04Speaker 1: It makes sense for the Instagram, not so much in
- 16:07Speaker 1: the bar so much.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Carl was doing okay.
- 16:10Speaker 4: There was a Bachelor red party going on, and I
- 16:12Speaker 4: was like, where's Carl and Torod?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Just Shrod?
- 16:15Speaker 3: But who was standing in front of the DJ?
- 16:17Speaker 2: I think, Oh no, Shrod was holding Courts yelling.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Over to tell him the DJ what to play. Also,
- 16:21Speaker 4: oh he was yeah, I think so and holding court
- 16:24Speaker 4: Rod's a lot of fun man. Then and then Carl
- 16:26Speaker 4: was right in the middle of like seven of these girls. Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 4: you know, of every shape, size, religious, every shape, inside,
- 16:33Speaker 4: the national origin, sexual origin, whatever youone called it, having
- 16:39Speaker 4: a great time.
- 16:39Speaker 3: I got He went into the wind pretty fast.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, he did an Irish exit.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I think the highlight of the night for me was
- 16:47Speaker 1: we were all kind of hanging on the dance floor
- 16:49Speaker 1: or on the outskirts, you know, having a It was
- 16:51Speaker 1: a lot of fun and uh, next thing, you know,
- 16:54Speaker 1: like there's space being cleared on the dance floor and
- 16:57Speaker 1: there's two very hot girls just completely making out. Oh yes,
- 17:04Speaker 1: and everyone just formed a circle around them and they
- 17:06Speaker 1: did not care in the least.
- 17:10Speaker 2: That was.
- 17:10Speaker 1: That was a wonderful treat for everybody.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Forgot about that.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Yeah No, I went out for a second and came
- 17:15Speaker 4: back in and that was going on, and I had
- 17:17Speaker 4: missed it because I'm like, what's everybody go?
- 17:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, no that was. I thought it was a.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Soul train line for a second. Oh no, it's not.
- 17:24Speaker 2: No, no, that was. That was impressive. Yeah. So why
- 17:28Speaker 2: do you like soccer?
- 17:29Speaker 1: Oh?
- 17:30Speaker 3: Because I love it.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I love asking people why they like soccer, because it's
- 17:33Speaker 1: a sport that just simply never really got.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Into some of my idiot friends in high school down
- 17:38Speaker 4: in Alabama. Most of the high schools wouldn't sanction it,
- 17:41Speaker 4: so you're not going to be They would sponsor the
- 17:43Speaker 4: ninth grade girls volleyball team and get them uniforms, and
- 17:46Speaker 4: you played the other high schools in the area's ninth
- 17:48Speaker 4: grade ye o. But soccer was the one that you
- 17:50Speaker 4: just had to be a club status and you guys had.
- 17:52Speaker 3: To own your own round up the games.
- 17:54Speaker 4: If there was another club at around there, so two
- 17:57Speaker 4: or three of my idiot friends I was really close
- 17:58Speaker 4: with they did this, and so so you go out there.
- 18:01Speaker 4: It's like worse than their innermural. That you'd go out
- 18:03Speaker 4: there and there'd be like seventeen people standing around watching the.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Soccer and I just my one boy. They had a
- 18:11Speaker 3: girl on their.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Team and she could school anyone in the county and
- 18:15Speaker 4: she ended up going like scholarship and got out on
- 18:17Speaker 4: like a D two scholarship. But we always thought that
- 18:21Speaker 4: was cool too because anytime Sachs was played, that was
- 18:23Speaker 4: the name of their school. We wanted to go see
- 18:25Speaker 4: Susan Clarks.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I don't care what board it is. You got a
- 18:27Speaker 3: girl out there playing any sport with the boys, and
- 18:29Speaker 3: she's schooling the.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Boys the best. It's really enjoying absolutely to watch.
- 18:33Speaker 4: So that was my little intro into it because it
- 18:35Speaker 4: was a bootleg thing that nobody in the South gave
- 18:37Speaker 4: a shit about. And then I got to college and
- 18:39Speaker 4: met some other people, and then when I started doing
- 18:42Speaker 4: stand up in eighty six, it was in Mexico that
- 18:45Speaker 4: was a Diego Maradona hand to God where he punched
- 18:47Speaker 4: them to go and win the championship and they didn't
- 18:49Speaker 4: call it, and I was living these guys I used
- 18:51Speaker 4: to live in Arizona and they that's where the Telemundo
- 18:54Speaker 4: things started.
- 18:54Speaker 3: One of them was half American and half Mexican, and
- 18:57Speaker 3: that was we got a rule. We'd wake up. We
- 18:59Speaker 3: started drinking beer on Tell the Mundo, we watch every game.
- 19:01Speaker 4: And I was in town working at the time, so
- 19:04Speaker 4: I spent like three weeks in a house with these
- 19:06Speaker 4: guys watching the World Cup on Tell the Mondo.
- 19:08Speaker 1: In eighty six, and they were explaining it to you.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Explaining the whole thing to me and tell me about
- 19:11Speaker 4: offside and this and the other, and and I just
- 19:14Speaker 4: fell in love with it. Ever since then, I just
- 19:15Speaker 4: started I like the World I like the European Championships,
- 19:17Speaker 4: and I like the World Cup.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I don't watch the Premiership or any local leagues.
- 19:21Speaker 4: I think it's hilarious that MLS gets these guys when
- 19:24Speaker 4: they're at the end of their career.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Beckham's coming when he's forty set right now.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Well, that's the mistake America is making because they always
- 19:31Speaker 1: feel they need the headliners always, you know what I mean,
- 19:34Speaker 1: instead of maybe some of these younger guys that maybe
- 19:36Speaker 1: don't have as much heat in the States.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Offer them some money and a stabulus some precedents, Yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 4: but they won't do that. And it's it's absolutely adorable
- 19:43Speaker 4: on Fox to watch the World Cup and then you
- 19:46Speaker 4: watch some of the most elite teams on the planet Earth.
- 19:48Speaker 4: And then in the afternoon because of the times, they
- 19:51Speaker 4: go to MLS And.
- 19:52Speaker 3: That's just a farce to me to be able to watch.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Belgium and England and then flip over and watch these
- 19:58Speaker 4: guys that can't even you know, ticket to the guy
- 20:00Speaker 4: five feet away from We.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Have a giant country and we can't feel the team.
- 20:04Speaker 1: It's amazing to me. We just can't feel that. And
- 20:06Speaker 1: with all the immigrants that we have in America, you
- 20:08Speaker 1: would assume we could kind of mix and.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Match and get a decent team together.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Because that's why it should be from the ground up,
- 20:15Speaker 4: affordable to everyone. But it's a mom driving the kids
- 20:18Speaker 4: around to these elite team leagues. You can't get the
- 20:21Speaker 4: immigrants to play. Their parents are working. They don't have
- 20:23Speaker 4: time to spend fifteen hundred and get their kid in
- 20:26Speaker 4: these elite leagues. So it turns into a white kids,
- 20:28Speaker 4: only privileged riding around in a minivand sport. You're not
- 20:30Speaker 4: building up from the roots. You go to any country
- 20:32Speaker 4: on the planet art to build a porch, neighborhood in
- 20:34Speaker 4: the world. They're kicking a soccer ball in Rym Street.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Wouldn't you want for braking rights to grab one of
- 20:39Speaker 1: these kids and throw them on the elite team.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Absolutely, that's what I would think.
- 20:42Speaker 1: There's a spider on your rocking chair. I'm gonna take
- 20:45Speaker 1: care of you. Oh oh, look at that. It's making
- 20:49Speaker 1: a web. It's making a web around my pal with
- 20:52Speaker 1: Vick Henlly. I got to tell you that your voice
- 20:55Speaker 1: fits nicely with the rocking chair.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Well, I've sat in front many a cracker barrel.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Yes, this is I gotta tell you the rocky chair
- 21:06Speaker 2: is is underrated. It's so underrated. Man, I can't play
- 21:11Speaker 2: the last time I was rocketed a rocky chair.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Kathleen Madigan bat lewis black woman. He went to the
- 21:15Speaker 4: University of North Carolina, so she went the Cracker Barrel.
- 21:18Speaker 4: You can pick different colors and have sports teams logos
- 21:20Speaker 4: put on there. So she bought him a Carolina blue
- 21:23Speaker 4: rocking chair from the Cracker Barrel and it's on his balcony.
- 21:26Speaker 4: And whoa.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Carl here he is here, he is a tornado, has
- 21:34Speaker 1: a rhyme man.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Doing.
- 21:42Speaker 1: We're just chilling. Then rocket on the rocking chairs outside
- 21:45Speaker 1: this fine joint.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Man, where were you?
- 21:47Speaker 3: You guys looked like she could cracker barrel waiting for breakfast.
- 21:50Speaker 3: We just said that. They just said that.
- 21:52Speaker 1: We I walked back with you and then what you
- 21:54Speaker 1: just walked back into town. I took a nap, but
- 21:56Speaker 1: then the lady wanted to clean my room, right, and that.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Messed up my nap. I went to get drunk.
- 22:01Speaker 5: I figured that's what you do.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 6: I had a couple of beers at a Hamburger, had a cupcake, nice.
- 22:07Speaker 5: At candy bar.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Nice, Me and me and Carlo and Gloria walking on.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I would just walk on the opposite side.
- 22:12Speaker 2: You're avoiding Gloria.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta explain.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Gloria for the people.
- 22:16Speaker 7: She stuff.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Yeah, she's like a super fan but also very cool.
- 22:20Speaker 3: She very cool, and she's really cool.
- 22:22Speaker 6: And I had to do some stuff for cooking event
- 22:25Speaker 6: in Arizona, and I'm avoiding it.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Oh, really, you gotta just start dealing with that, hey, Vic,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I walked around with Carl this morning.
- 22:30Speaker 2: We had a blast.
- 22:32Speaker 6: It was, He's the most fucking embarrassing human being. Oh
- 22:36Speaker 6: my god, you just went talking to people. There was
- 22:40Speaker 6: at one time that I had to pull a nuclear bomb.
- 22:42Speaker 6: I had to say that he was looking at children,
- 22:44Speaker 6: so he could he could stop recording for five minutes.
- 22:47Speaker 7: He's like, no, I'm not.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't know what else to do.
- 22:49Speaker 2: You don't stop talking to people.
- 22:51Speaker 1: What I did then I pulled out my phone and
- 22:53Speaker 1: quickly made a video. There's basically two women walking by
- 22:57Speaker 1: licking ice cream cones, and I thought that was a
- 22:59Speaker 1: cool thing to check out. And then I wanted me
- 23:00Speaker 1: and Carl to hang outside the ice cream shop and
- 23:02Speaker 1: watch more of women.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Doesn't look at ice cream fish To me, Carl is
- 23:06Speaker 2: what we're gonna do. Let's go.
- 23:08Speaker 6: You can smoke cigarettes in front of the candy shop
- 23:10Speaker 6: while we watched the girls lick the ice cream cones.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I said, now, it's a beautiful place. You shouldn't even
- 23:17Speaker 2: be here.
- 23:20Speaker 3: It's so tranquil.
- 23:21Speaker 6: And then it comes fucking Opie, this lady, you're loud
- 23:26Speaker 6: because she's talking.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I'm like, she's on the street. Well, she was a
- 23:29Speaker 1: little loud, and this place was made for me. What
- 23:31Speaker 1: do you mean, I don't belong here? You know how
- 23:34Speaker 1: many people look like me here?
- 23:36Speaker 3: Done?
- 23:37Speaker 6: I guarantee you that everyone that made the decision to
- 23:39Speaker 6: fire you from serious lives here.
- 23:47Speaker 7: Oh you right?
- 23:50Speaker 1: And then we saw, you know, we saw some nursing
- 23:52Speaker 1: going on on the streets that was nice.
- 23:54Speaker 6: And looking at the women, the pregnant women nursing, that's
- 23:58Speaker 6: his fetish.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Oh dude, it's so bad.
- 24:02Speaker 2: It's just all but you like chubby girls.
- 24:05Speaker 4: I'm like, you don't go to jail for that.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I'm not acting.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Out on my even fetish. I'm just saying, like, if
- 24:12Speaker 1: there's a young mom nursing.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Her new born on the street and you could see her,
- 24:16Speaker 2: you know, her.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Breasts yelling, it's kind of a nice little you support
- 24:19Speaker 1: your right to the fresh sweet I'm like, oh my god,
- 24:22Speaker 1: it's kind of like a nice treat, you know, kind
- 24:24Speaker 1: of like when you eat a dozen raw clams and
- 24:27Speaker 1: the next day you get one in your teeth, get
- 24:30Speaker 1: a little extra for the kid. Did you go all
- 24:35Speaker 1: these nice little surprises that hit you in the faces
- 24:38Speaker 1: going about your day.
- 24:39Speaker 3: That was the trud from sales, just from office. That's
- 24:41Speaker 3: where he fed. That's where he had two lobsters the
- 24:44Speaker 3: other day, two lobsters because I was a aristocratic food.
- 24:47Speaker 1: That's right, we had lobster last night, that lobster fetuccini, right.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Lobster fetuccini. We had clams casino. We ate a lot
- 24:56Speaker 3: raw clams, raw clam, steamer, clam.
- 24:59Speaker 6: Shrod being really loud saying the N word in Nantucket
- 25:04Speaker 6: he was.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And the white, the white older rich guys, they kind
- 25:09Speaker 1: of liked it. But they can show there, they can
- 25:12Speaker 1: show their reaction though.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Well, the last time they were able to say it
- 25:15Speaker 6: out loud here they were wearing white powdered wigs.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I mean they were still bringing whales in.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Yeah, they were negotiating whale oil prices down at the fear.
- 25:26Speaker 1: You know when you see the the old rich guy
- 25:28Speaker 1: walking into some of these restaurants with the salmon pants
- 25:31Speaker 1: and the sweater tied around his uh, his shoulder. Yeah,
- 25:36Speaker 1: but now they're story.
- 25:38Speaker 6: If we can ever tell you that John Carrey story
- 25:40Speaker 6: about the about the sweater, I'm not sure.
- 25:43Speaker 1: All I want to say, it's no big deal so
- 25:45Speaker 1: we can move on. It just gives you douche chills
- 25:48Speaker 1: every time you see one of these guys walk in
- 25:49Speaker 1: like that.
- 25:50Speaker 4: It's well, it's it is. And I we were to cocky.
- 25:52Speaker 4: What are you talking about? We were a cocktail party
- 25:54Speaker 4: here once and someone behind me is very animatedly telling
- 25:58Speaker 4: a story and I'm getting some as in the back
- 26:01Speaker 4: and I turned around after about the third one, and
- 26:03Speaker 4: I just see it's a tall guy with gray hair,
- 26:05Speaker 4: and he's wearing a sweater like that he's got he's
- 26:07Speaker 4: got it dreves around his neck. And so I'm about
- 26:10Speaker 4: to go, hey man, you know, and he realizes that
- 26:14Speaker 4: he's hitting me and he turns around.
- 26:15Speaker 3: It's John Kerry and.
- 26:17Speaker 4: So he was sorry, and I go, oh no, no,
- 26:19Speaker 4: I go, you know what, since we're talking now, uh,
- 26:23Speaker 4: I point to the sweater thing.
- 26:24Speaker 3: I go, you gotta get rid of this. This is everybody,
- 26:26Speaker 3: This is awful.
- 26:27Speaker 4: This looks like you're being strangled by an invisible man
- 26:29Speaker 4: from behind. I like that, and John Jerry no hesitation,
- 26:37Speaker 4: reaches up, pulls this leeve.
- 26:39Speaker 3: He still leaves it draped over him, but he.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Takes the type art off but he so he takes
- 26:43Speaker 4: the tie part off where now it's just dangling down.
- 26:45Speaker 4: He goes, is this better? You're okay with this? And
- 26:47Speaker 4: I go it's completely fine.
- 26:49Speaker 2: What do you what do you think they do that?
- 26:50Speaker 2: It looks ridiculous. They got so much money they don't
- 26:53Speaker 2: give a crap, right.
- 26:54Speaker 3: That's the second part of the story. He I what
- 26:56Speaker 3: were you at the time? He was second.
- 27:01Speaker 4: So I'm like, it's just something. You're all wound up
- 27:04Speaker 4: about something? Is it something political? Can you tell me something?
- 27:06Speaker 4: He goes, no, No, it's got nothing to do with this.
- 27:08Speaker 4: It's my it's my boat. And they pay a fee
- 27:11Speaker 4: to have their yachts. However, between between my Memorial Day
- 27:16Speaker 4: and Labor Day, you pay a flat fee for the
- 27:18Speaker 4: whole season.
- 27:19Speaker 3: You park your yacht out here, and that's how it goes, right.
- 27:22Speaker 4: So but if you bring it early or you stay later,
- 27:24Speaker 4: they start heating you up like a parking ticket, and
- 27:26Speaker 4: you can end up paying more for ten days than
- 27:29Speaker 4: you did for the whole ninety day season.
- 27:31Speaker 3: So he explains this to me, and he goes, my.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Idiot crew bought my boat up here twelve days early.
- 27:37Speaker 4: And I go, can you tell me when I get
- 27:39Speaker 4: you mind? How much does that cost? And he goes,
- 27:40Speaker 4: it's like four hundred and eighty thousand for the three months,
- 27:44Speaker 4: but the.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Extra twelve days cost me six hundred and ninety thousand mine. God,
- 27:50Speaker 3: So so I turn back around, I go, I.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Go here, take it all out on me. It's okay.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I can go back to hearing me for six ninety
- 27:55Speaker 3: You can beat the pits out of me.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You know, he went, Terry, I need a check for
- 28:01Speaker 1: seven hundred thousand.
- 28:03Speaker 3: You know exactly exactly Terry I was.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I was researching his boat.
- 28:06Speaker 1: That would be his wife from the hind fortune he got.
- 28:09Speaker 6: He got a lot of political flat because he registered
- 28:12Speaker 6: it in Delaware when he was from that from a
- 28:15Speaker 6: different state.
- 28:16Speaker 4: But she she's the first after party that Carlin already
- 28:19Speaker 4: other night, here's four houses down, there's places four houses
- 28:22Speaker 4: down from where we were, and and on the morning
- 28:24Speaker 4: thing out front in the water, it says Hines.
- 28:26Speaker 3: It doesn't say carry, it says Hines.
- 28:28Speaker 4: But that's probably her house for sure, and has been
- 28:31Speaker 4: her house for who knows how long.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Well as long as they want.
- 28:34Speaker 2: They invented fucking ketchup that fucking rocks.
- 28:39Speaker 3: That was Kathleen when he was running for president. That
- 28:42Speaker 3: was Kathleen Madigus Strokes.
- 28:43Speaker 4: She goes, I don't know why this guy had just
- 28:44Speaker 4: walked there here and goes, if you don't vote for me,
- 28:46Speaker 4: I'm taking away all.
- 28:47Speaker 7: The ketch up.
- 28:49Speaker 1: He's done, Hey, landslide, No, no, I'll leave you with
- 28:52Speaker 1: hunts hunts ketch up. When does hunts ketch him going
- 28:57Speaker 1: to figure out that they're botting stakes?
- 28:59Speaker 5: It should just change H to a C. That's a
- 29:09Speaker 5: good joke. That's a good joke.
- 29:11Speaker 1: And Victory ran into Stephen Wright and you told me
- 29:14Speaker 1: it was me that was.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Creeping on him from above.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Well I can't, all right, full disclosure.
- 29:19Speaker 2: You need to know the truth.
- 29:21Speaker 1: So we're out on the roof of the theater here
- 29:23Speaker 1: in Nantucket.
- 29:24Speaker 2: There's a show going on inside.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Stephen Wright's getting ready to go on. Then you had
- 29:27Speaker 1: Ron White, don uh Don Gavin was.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Up up on that stage too.
- 29:32Speaker 1: All these guys crushed last night, by the way, And
- 29:35Speaker 1: you know, Shrod's just making leefs wherever he goes. He
- 29:40Speaker 1: don't give two ships about it.
- 29:42Speaker 2: And I think he had different cancers.
- 29:44Speaker 8: I mean, he's just smoking old fuck old day all day.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Just I found him yesterday. I was drunk.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I followed the smell of weed.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and there he was. Yeah, you don't care, man.
- 29:54Speaker 3: You're screaming something hashtag small world.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Comedy something.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Race.
- 30:04Speaker 2: He was actually yelling something He's family with everybody. I'm
- 30:07Speaker 2: very confused by that.
- 30:09Speaker 1: But anyway, the opposite of Opie.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a lovely giant deck on about the third
- 30:14Speaker 4: fourth theater.
- 30:15Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Yeah, no, so it's the harbor.
- 30:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 1: But I got to set this up. And the reason
- 30:19Speaker 1: why I was creeping on Stephen Wright was because Suan,
- 30:21Speaker 1: you know, lights up this spleef and I'm like.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Hey man, could I have a hit of that or whatever?
- 30:25Speaker 1: And I took one really big hit that just burned
- 30:29Speaker 1: the hell out of my throat and lungs. I'm I'm
- 30:31Speaker 1: an amateur.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I'm not going there too. Yeah, here's are true splits.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Oh no, it was fire. It fired me up, and
- 30:38Speaker 1: then I'm feeling it and then I look over it.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I think you told me.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Stephen Wright's out there pacing, which which was amazing to
- 30:45Speaker 1: me because this guy's had been doing comedy since the
- 30:47Speaker 1: eighties and he still gets nervous before shows.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Forty year veterans still do.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Everybody has their porch and takes and things they do,
- 30:54Speaker 4: and he doesn't like hanging in the green room chip
- 30:56Speaker 4: chatting with everybody.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Yeah, he likes you like chatting. Now you just got
- 31:01Speaker 3: to talk to it.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Talked about that rich party, because I felt like I
- 31:03Speaker 1: was rich.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I could ask any question I want, right, I was
- 31:07Speaker 2: there for five minutes, and you have a whole nother view.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I'm like, who are you? What do you do?
- 31:12Speaker 3: Right?
- 31:13Speaker 1: They just got to assume you're another billionaire they invented something.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, So there they.
- 31:18Speaker 8: Were very You could ask them anything and it doesn't
- 31:21Speaker 8: bother me because you're in this fucking mansion.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, no, man, you're part of the club for the night.
- 31:26Speaker 3: So we saw him.
- 31:26Speaker 4: He was out in the alley and just pacing, going
- 31:30Speaker 4: into his actor's.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Head yeah, and over the bitch.
- 31:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 31:33Speaker 3: And I go, look here, he's he's a pacer. Yeah,
- 31:35Speaker 3: And then you started.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Well, then I decided.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Then I decided I got to film him from above.
- 31:40Speaker 2: It's on my Instagram, Hopie radio.
- 31:42Speaker 1: And and then I started calling out his name to
- 31:45Speaker 1: the point I think he had started thinking he might
- 31:47Speaker 1: be hearing hearing voices because he couldn't really figure out
- 31:49Speaker 1: where the voice was coming from. And then I finally
- 31:52Speaker 1: gave it away. I'm like, Stevid up here, and he
- 31:55Speaker 1: looks up all like hey, and then I said who
- 31:59Speaker 1: I was, And I don't know if he heard me
- 32:01Speaker 1: or or he did hear me and doesn't give two ships.
- 32:04Speaker 1: But he then walked back into the green room because
- 32:06Speaker 1: he was he was going on stage any moment. But
- 32:08Speaker 1: you ran into him after his set and told him.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Yes, I saw him at the after party and I
- 32:12Speaker 4: just went over. I go, hey earlier, when you're out
- 32:15Speaker 4: there pacing around. He's like, yeah, I got the idiot
- 32:18Speaker 4: that was yelling at you from up above.
- 32:19Speaker 3: And he goes, yeah, what was that about?
- 32:21Speaker 1: You know?
- 32:22Speaker 4: I was like, I go wait to Opie from hoping
- 32:24Speaker 4: that I think he did the show. He was, Oh,
- 32:25Speaker 4: I love that guy. He's a great guy.
- 32:27Speaker 3: I I was telling.
- 32:29Speaker 4: He goes, were you telling him not to yell at met?
- 32:33Speaker 3: I go, yes, I did. I told him to stop it.
- 32:36Speaker 3: He didn't stop it. He kept doing it, and I
- 32:38Speaker 3: gold him.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Then when you looked up and he saw it was
- 32:41Speaker 4: freaking you out, it actually might stop.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Oh you should have let me know. I would have
- 32:45Speaker 3: gotten it on the gag. I would have gotten in.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'm bummed because I went into the theater to see
- 32:52Speaker 1: stepher right, because I haven't seen him in years and
- 32:55Speaker 1: he just it was unbelievable. He crushed and because I
- 32:59Speaker 1: was watching him from inside, I didn't get to say
- 33:01Speaker 1: hi to him.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, you guys drifted off and missed the afterpart.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And then he left.
- 33:05Speaker 1: No, no, we have a bone to pick with you
- 33:10Speaker 1: last week left it. We were eating and stuff, and
- 33:14Speaker 1: we started texting you because we wanted to go to
- 33:16Speaker 1: that party.
- 33:17Speaker 3: I said, there are vans that are going to take us.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but we didn't know where they were going. And
- 33:21Speaker 1: then we were in town and we were confused, and
- 33:23Speaker 1: then and you weren't.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I I was drunk, didn't want to go to that thing.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I wanted to go. I wanted to go as well.
- 33:30Speaker 1: And then no one could get a hold of it, Kenley,
- 33:32Speaker 1: and then you magically appeared back at the bar like
- 33:35Speaker 1: a couple hours later.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Well, we were Inisconsin and I have no service out there, said,
- 33:39Speaker 4: if you think.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Scott, that's why I moved from there, Wisconsin problems.
- 33:48Speaker 1: That's scary. Why don't the rich people have cell service
- 33:54Speaker 1: because I'm parts of this island?
- 33:55Speaker 2: That's scary. What's that about, Carl.
- 33:57Speaker 6: You only need a phone, or you only need to
- 33:59Speaker 6: be connected for bad news, But when you're so.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Rich, you have no bad news, so.
- 34:03Speaker 8: Everything can wait. Everything could wait. There's everything's beneath you.
- 34:08Speaker 8: There's nothing above you. Right, there's no boss that calls you,
- 34:10Speaker 8: there's no you're the guy. So you could show up
- 34:13Speaker 8: three weeks later and be like what hap? And it's
- 34:16Speaker 8: not going to change your life? What it's just bad news.
- 34:19Speaker 8: All you do is listen to people's other bad news.
- 34:21Speaker 8: When you're when you're poor, or you're mortal, you got
- 34:24Speaker 8: to be connected to a phone because there's all kinds
- 34:26Speaker 8: of shit that you're trying to sell or or buy or.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Do kind of They don't do anything.
- 34:30Speaker 2: They don't buy.
- 34:30Speaker 3: These people have the same Grand Wagon ear for ten years.
- 34:34Speaker 2: They couldn't tell you the first thing about a new car.
- 34:36Speaker 2: They don't care. Yeah, it's a whole nother.
- 34:38Speaker 3: It's a it's a peaceful soul. Your soul is at
- 34:41Speaker 3: peace to you. Just live in money.
- 34:43Speaker 1: You know, we're rocking and rocking chairs, listen to listening
- 34:47Speaker 1: to birds and just watching a lot of money walk
- 34:51Speaker 1: like a lot of money millions. And this is the hotel,
- 34:54Speaker 1: this is the project.
- 34:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 34:56Speaker 2: You go up one street up there forget it.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Right, there's hammocks. We got a dollar bill.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Did you see the kids in their lemonade stands?
- 35:04Speaker 5: What it's like seven bucks though.
- 35:08Speaker 3: The kid?
- 35:08Speaker 2: The kid makes two hunch fucking an hour over there.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I walked up to the marina.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Oh shit, man, just the boat talkers.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I know a lot about shit.
- 35:18Speaker 2: They're talking about motors I don't even know existed, like
- 35:20Speaker 2: a let's win. I'm like, what the fuck is that?
- 35:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, there's some giant boats in the heart.
- 35:25Speaker 1: There's one hundred and twenty foot of there with a
- 35:27Speaker 1: helicopter on it. Wow, really tell what I saw, Opie before?
- 35:31Speaker 3: I see a car with Bahama license plates on it.
- 35:34Speaker 1: So I said, wait, I failed geography.
- 35:37Speaker 2: But I know that you can't drive here for the Bahamas.
- 35:41Speaker 3: So I said, hey, cuz, how does that happen?
- 35:43Speaker 2: He goes, oh, oh no, I just saw I took
- 35:45Speaker 2: it off my boat. Sure. Do you know how much
- 35:47Speaker 2: fucking money you have? You have, but you know how
- 35:49Speaker 2: heavier boat is and how heavy a car is. You
- 35:53Speaker 2: know it's fuel that burns just to have it.
- 35:55Speaker 6: A land Rover defender leaking oil in the basement of
- 35:58Speaker 6: your boat.
- 36:00Speaker 4: What was the one you saw the other day that
- 36:01Speaker 4: you pointed out, it was really like the Hinkleys.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yes, and it's basically it's not really about.
- 36:06Speaker 6: It's like a j jet ski because they have their
- 36:09Speaker 6: their their their jet motors.
- 36:11Speaker 1: They're not fucking prop motors, outboard motor. No.
- 36:13Speaker 2: You can put it right up to a beach.
- 36:14Speaker 6: You could beach this fucking and they cost three times
- 36:17Speaker 6: as much as everything.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Damn. That's pretty fucking cool. It's awesome. That's pretty cool. Yeah,
- 36:22Speaker 2: that's pretty cool.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Everybody knows David round with.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Well, we all try.
- 36:26Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, yeahs too.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Going back to the bost red sock just fed away
- 36:34Speaker 1: and yeah, you see a lot of guys walking around
- 36:36Speaker 1: with that be hat.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a lot of be hats up here.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I love their socks in this area.
- 36:41Speaker 6: I keep forgetting them in Massachusetts and I'm like, fuck
- 36:44Speaker 6: yeah everywhere.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Vic.
- 36:45Speaker 2: This was a pleasure, brother, No.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Man, it's been great. I'm gonna go say about the Bullimore.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I want to
- 36:51Speaker 2: go check out that beach.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Actually walk down there. It's great.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Maybe jump on one of these bikes.
- 36:58Speaker 2: You don't like bike in I'll go right into a street, bro,
- 37:02Speaker 2: you can handle it.
- 37:03Speaker 3: All all right, Yeah, I'll feel.
- 37:08Speaker 10: A bullet jerk, and now for the major come down.
- 37:11Speaker 10: It's time to say so long and get back to

- 37:31Speaker 2: Killed last night?
- 37:31Speaker 7: Hey, how are you? I don't think we've ever met.
- 37:34Speaker 2: We've never met. We've traveled in.
- 37:35Speaker 7: The same circles.
- 37:37Speaker 9: Tangently, yes, rosy, tangently, as they say, like the referee.
- 37:41Speaker 7: I like that, the sides right like that. How are you?
- 37:44Speaker 3: Man?
- 37:44Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I'm believing me too. All right, we're going to the
- 37:47Speaker 2: airports together.

- 37:59Speaker 2: you think?
- 37:59Speaker 1: Man?
- 38:00Speaker 2: So fun?
- 38:00Speaker 3: I'm hungover, really in my face it's all swollen.
- 38:04Speaker 2: I was on the bottom of a lake.
- 38:06Speaker 7: Can I interject something here? This man?
- 38:08Speaker 1: You speaking to Cuban?
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 38:11Speaker 9: Yeah, which which I I just that's just the point
- 38:13Speaker 9: of reference.
- 38:14Speaker 7: I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
- 38:18Speaker 9: He hands me a cigar last night, fresh out of
- 38:21Speaker 9: his mouth, beautiful. It looked like it had been dipped
- 38:24Speaker 9: in swamp because it had been chewing on it all
- 38:27Speaker 9: day and went out hesitation.
- 38:30Speaker 7: I put it right in my and went, oh, that's smooth.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:35Speaker 3: I thought in my mind that was.
- 38:36Speaker 6: One of the last thoughts I had last night before
- 38:38Speaker 6: everything got rapeat.
- 38:41Speaker 3: But I liked that. The guy goes that's a good guy.
- 38:44Speaker 2: I can do things with this. That's awesome.
- 38:49Speaker 1: There's Karen, who put the whole Nantucket Comedy Festival together. Karen,
- 38:53Speaker 1: thank you once again for having us.
- 38:54Speaker 11: You're welcome. Thank you for coming.
- 38:56Speaker 2: It was great.
- 38:56Speaker 1: We had a ball man. We'll be back next year.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Every time I see Karen, I'm like, fuck, I'm married wrong.
- 39:04Speaker 11: We'll discuss what we got to prep you for the
- 39:07Speaker 11: next one.
- 39:08Speaker 3: He's dressed up for the brewery today.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not dressed up for the next one, but
- 39:11Speaker 1: he's dressed up for the brewery.
- 39:12Speaker 2: That's sure good. Well, because the patients sit up to
- 39:17Speaker 2: rebo classics.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I can't even describe you. I don't know if you
- 39:20Speaker 1: want to be in the Bahamas or in Europe.
- 39:22Speaker 2: These are from France because they're playing today. This is
- 39:25Speaker 2: the game's almost over. I know. Okay, so just from France.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Yeah, these I got it.
- 39:30Speaker 6: After the divorce, my sneaker game went down a couple
- 39:33Speaker 6: of notches.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Yeah, black socks are very comfortable.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Everyone knows it keeps you from mitching.
- 39:38Speaker 2: And then this shirt I found you just found it.
- 39:46Speaker 3: All right.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I think we did it, Karen, thanks for having us.
- 39:48Speaker 1: We're gonna be back next year. You have no choice,
- 39:50Speaker 1: yes all to come back. We fell in love with
- 39:53Speaker 1: this place after not being here for like ten years.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I fell back in love with Nantucket.
- 39:58Speaker 11: Perhaps my kids will do something else, you know.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Legal.
- 40:02Speaker 2: That was fun on the podcast.
- 40:04Speaker 1: They crushed on that stage.
- 40:06Speaker 11: Man so mac mack had a good time in Germany.
- 40:09Speaker 11: He said, I just wanted to enjoy the culture.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Of course, a little underage drinking. Never heard anybody, anybody,
- 40:16Speaker 1: you know, the drinking age there. He was legal there,
- 40:19Speaker 1: but he wasn't legal with the teachers.
- 40:20Speaker 2: We went over that on stage less.
- 40:21Speaker 11: But but I told him I have no problem with
- 40:23Speaker 11: the beer. You're sixteen, have a beer with me. It

- 43:07Speaker 9: we one time float flew from Boston to Vermont in
- 43:12Speaker 9: a little plane, you know, with the buddy of Mike
- 43:16Speaker 9: McDonald rigged up. And he had never been I don't

- 43:22Speaker 9: a you know, a buddy holly kill, you know what
- 43:24Speaker 9: I mean. And I looked back at one point and
- 43:28Speaker 9: he took up the whole back of the plane and
- 43:31Speaker 9: he's literally riding with hands like outstretched, like he's holding
- 43:36Speaker 9: the plane to get like if I do this, we
- 43:39Speaker 9: won't crash. I've never seen a look. I've never seen
- 43:42Speaker 9: a look on a man's face. He was ashen, I mean.
- 43:46Speaker 9: And for Patricia not to speak for you know, two

- 44:12Speaker 9: is not forty five. Yes, we're happy you're a freaking
- 44:16Speaker 9: bed we really are, but you got to get it
- 44:18Speaker 9: out in fifteen minutes because that's what the show did.
- 44:21Speaker 7: Yeah. No, but what you know, there are people that
- 44:24Speaker 7: you see and you go like, oh, yeah, that's like
- 44:27Speaker 7: you know, you just know, you just know it's gonna.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I was lucky to know him, and I was lucky

- 44:33Speaker 1: back in the day.
- 44:33Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, you know, he was a special man. Again.
- 44:36Speaker 9: That's where I bet you we know a lot of

- 44:58Speaker 7: That's crazy.
- 44:58Speaker 2: We told Boston the mayor died in a car accident.
- 45:01Speaker 2: It was April before.
- 45:03Speaker 7: How did take a joke?
- 45:05Speaker 2: For the love of God thought I thought we could
- 45:07Speaker 2: get away with that one. What an idiot I was.

- 45:17Speaker 1: said it last night. But uh, you know, I've had
- 45:19Speaker 1: time to think and grow a little bit. Yeah, and
- 45:22Speaker 1: at the end of his life, he was promoting a
- 45:24Speaker 1: book and he went through serious exam.
- 45:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I tried really hard to get him on my show
- 45:28Speaker 1: just to say sorry that there's no joke there. I'm
- 45:31Speaker 1: just telling you from man to Mary, and I felt
- 45:33Speaker 1: like I really needed.

- 45:42Speaker 9: that I'm trying to get a hold of to apologize
- 45:45Speaker 9: for forty years ago and that happened.
- 45:47Speaker 7: They're not having it. I guess wounds run deep yet.
