- 0:40Speaker 3: What is happening?
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm Rob Lundquist Time Bugs.
- 0:45Speaker 3: And we are the Avid Indoorsman.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Hello every one.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Hello. So Buggs and I were just on the zoom
- 0:52Speaker 3: call and we realized we were saying all of the
- 0:56Speaker 3: banter that we were about to say right now, all.
- 0:58Speaker 1: The questions I was about to ask us, like, so
- 1:01Speaker 1: tell me how are.
- 1:03Speaker 3: And so Bug's ended it with all right, let's just
- 1:06Speaker 3: start the pod so we can be friends, And it
- 1:08Speaker 3: made me laugh very hard.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So it's true we save it for all of you.
- 1:15Speaker 3: But how are you, buddy? I know you've done some
- 1:18Speaker 3: really cool things since the last time I chatted with you.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels like it's been a while. Again. I
- 1:25Speaker 1: went to the Oregon Getaway. It was a bit of
- 1:29Speaker 1: a travel nightmare getting there, but we made it happen.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I was with you about that, Yeah, yeah, I was like,
- 1:35Speaker 1: how do you do this, rob, how do you get through?
- 1:38Speaker 1: And luckily I really didn't have anywhere to be, like
- 1:41Speaker 1: on a super tight schedule, so we stayed an extra
- 1:45Speaker 1: night in Denver, not even a night, like three hours
- 1:49Speaker 1: in Denver, and then when early got delayed in San
- 1:54Speaker 1: Francisco for some reason, and then finally made it to Oregon.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But once I got there, it was all amazing. I
- 2:02Speaker 1: got to hang out with the Hound in the Fox
- 2:04Speaker 1: with Riley and Cans. We shot a music video that
- 2:07Speaker 1: will come out presumably unless it's terrible at some point.
- 2:11Speaker 1: For sure. I don't know how you guys do that.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'm not good at it. It's very I don't like it.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And I was playing an instrument for it. Oh my god.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I was like, boy, I've got about half of these
- 2:26Speaker 1: chords half right, so you know we're really doing it.
- 2:30Speaker 3: We're going to be look, we're going to be looking
- 2:31Speaker 3: at the frets the whole time.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Oh, you're right, I'm gonna cut that out. Everything went
- 2:35Speaker 1: great with the video. I felt very talented and very handsome. No,
- 2:40Speaker 1: it was super fun. I got to hang out with
- 2:42Speaker 1: them and their crew. Then went up Abes' place is
- 2:45Speaker 1: fantastic and amazing and incredible magical. Right, Oh, it's so cool.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And then I won't I won't talk forever. But we
- 2:55Speaker 1: did the movie showing that I helped toast. We had
- 2:58Speaker 1: a great video that you put out for everyone.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Chatham showed me he took video of the video being
- 3:05Speaker 3: shown on the screen and I did it up and down,
- 3:08Speaker 3: which apparently should have been horizontal.
- 3:11Speaker 1: We couldn't figure it out. It was an insurmountable thing.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I told everyone, just tilt your head and it's like
- 3:17Speaker 1: it's like, he's right there.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Don't worry, glad. I didn't go too long then because
- 3:21Speaker 3: that was silly looking.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But I thought it was hilarious and I loved it,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and everyone liked it. That movie is definitely rated R,
- 3:28Speaker 1: which I didn't remember.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Dude, Tim was telling me that it was. He felt
- 3:33Speaker 3: a little weird about showing that in front of everybody.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, strong language out there. Strong language also like a
- 3:39Speaker 1: pretty strong contingent of people who are of the Mormon
- 3:42Speaker 1: faith or of the Latter day Saints faith. I guess
- 3:45Speaker 1: I don't know which which is preferred for the label,
- 3:49Speaker 1: But so we were just like, oops, maybe next year.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Not a movie that Tim has never seen and I've
- 3:54Speaker 1: only seen once and didn't review at all.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Sure I would have been like, yeah, it's great a
- 4:00Speaker 3: lot like it's a kids movie.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah there's stuff, but it's nothing bad. And I was like,
- 4:05Speaker 1: oh my, oh my heavens, Yeah, this is really but
- 4:08Speaker 1: a great movie. It was super fun. We got to
- 4:11Speaker 1: see some of the places they filmed. Then like the
- 4:13Speaker 1: next day, I had an awesome time at this thing.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm for sure gonna go back next year, you know,
- 4:20Speaker 1: barring some sort of scheduling conflict or whatever. But it's
- 4:24Speaker 1: a super cool deal that got going on out there.
- 4:26Speaker 1: The weather was beautiful, the place was great. All those
- 4:29Speaker 1: people are so nice for everybody, the fans, the performers,
- 4:33Speaker 1: it was amazing. I got to sit in with the
- 4:35Speaker 1: band like a ton which was great.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I had a great time, man, I loved it. It
- 4:41Speaker 1: was super fun.
- 4:42Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And then we went to a really creepy like it's
- 4:45Speaker 1: called the Enchanted Forest. I went with Riley and Ken's
- 4:49Speaker 1: this amusement park that's just north of Eugene and it
- 4:54Speaker 1: was like, it's like Disney World, but the grim fairy
- 4:57Speaker 1: tale version. So it's like ex creepy and weird and awesome.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And Neil came down so we got to hang out
- 5:04Speaker 1: with him that day.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I saw a picture of that. That's fun.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Oh it was fun.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Man.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We made a great time. It was great. How about you,
- 5:10Speaker 1: what have you been doing? Tell me?
- 5:12Speaker 3: I spent the whole week up at the cabin. We
- 5:16Speaker 3: did a Saturday to Saturday, which that is the way
- 5:18Speaker 3: to do it. There was like no traffic. It was amazing.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I like that idea. That's a good idea. But we
- 5:25Speaker 3: we had a great time. I got to have my
- 5:27Speaker 3: parents up at my in laws, who are there on vacation,
- 5:31Speaker 3: and so this was the first time they were over
- 5:33Speaker 3: up there, so great. My sister ended up coming up
- 5:36Speaker 3: for the last couple of days her and Norman.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Have they bought the adjacent building. Yeah yet we're in.
- 5:43Speaker 3: But they did love it and we had a wonderful
- 5:46Speaker 3: time with them. And then that Saturday night got home.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Saturday night packed for Nashville to do a crazy not
- 5:55Speaker 3: even forty eight hours, it was like thirty some hours
- 5:59Speaker 3: and we showed six music videos. What we shot six
- 6:05Speaker 3: music videos in two days so that we could knock
- 6:08Speaker 3: him out and love it. They're crazy. It's the most
- 6:13Speaker 3: we've ever done in that short amount of time. And
- 6:16Speaker 3: Jimmy Bates did all six and he had another company
- 6:23Speaker 3: that we use called Emphasis Films. They did like all
- 6:26Speaker 3: the lighting, all the sets, all that for him and
- 6:30Speaker 3: it was exhausting. But man, some of these are gonna
- 6:35Speaker 3: be really really fun.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Jamie's the best. This is what got us into trouble
- 6:39Speaker 1: before the pod.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Yeah, he was.
- 6:41Speaker 1: At the Oregon Getaway as well, and I got to
- 6:43Speaker 1: hang out with him just so much more than I
- 6:45Speaker 1: thought I would and it was awesome, and I just
- 6:47Speaker 1: it's been so long since I get saw them, so
- 6:49Speaker 1: it was so fun.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the best. Did his fam come down?
- 6:53Speaker 1: They didn't. They were talking about it, but it just
- 6:56Speaker 1: didn't work out so sure, which was a bummer. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: would have liked to see them as well. But we'll
- 7:01Speaker 1: take Jimmy. He's the best.
- 7:03Speaker 3: He's the coolest. We've done a lot of stuff with
- 7:05Speaker 3: him recently. It's been fun.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That's awesome. That's awesome.
- 7:08Speaker 3: We gotta have him back on this.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I know we were talking about that. I talked with
- 7:13Speaker 1: a few people also like we should. We should really
- 7:16Speaker 1: maybe both go to the Oregon Getaway and do a
- 7:19Speaker 1: show out there next time. We'll see what happens.
- 7:22Speaker 3: We'll soon. But did you watch any movies or anything
- 7:26Speaker 3: on the way out there?
- 7:27Speaker 1: I did, well, not on the way. I watched a
- 7:30Speaker 1: movie back here in the comfort of my local theater.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It was a movie called Alien Romulus tell me he
- 7:39Speaker 1: knew alien movie. It was very scary, spooky continuation that
- 7:44Speaker 1: I found out was actually like a I believe in
- 7:48Speaker 1: the timeline it was between alien and aliens I believe technically,
- 7:54Speaker 1: but really interesting movie that was really well done. It
- 7:59Speaker 1: kind of like the The like gist of it is
- 8:01Speaker 1: there's this this crew of near Dowell's and they are
- 8:05Speaker 1: going to go up to a space station and steal
- 8:08Speaker 1: some tech from it, and it ends up being a
- 8:11Speaker 1: ship that we've seen before, and that's kind of all
- 8:14Speaker 1: you need to know, and chaos ensues. But it's got
- 8:18Speaker 1: a couple of people that we know in it, despite
- 8:21Speaker 1: it being a pretty young cast. The gal Kaylee Spainey
- 8:25Speaker 1: from Civil War, which which we both liked if I
- 8:28Speaker 1: remember anyway. Oh yeah, and Priscilla which I haven't seen
- 8:33Speaker 1: that one, so I never think of that one. She's
- 8:35Speaker 1: in it. And then your guy Rob from Rye Lane.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Is that what it was called? That David Johnson? Okay,
- 8:44Speaker 1: it's Johnson, but j O N S s O N.
- 8:47Speaker 1: So I'm gonna I just assume it's a soft Jay.
- 8:52Speaker 1: But he is in it, playing a sort of like
- 8:57Speaker 1: fun character in this, and he is They are sort
- 9:01Speaker 1: of the two leads, and they're really great in this.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I thought it was really well done. I don't I've
- 9:05Speaker 1: seen like the Alien movies over the years. I'm not
- 9:08Speaker 1: like a crazy huge fan or anything.
- 9:10Speaker 3: All of them.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I doubt it.
- 9:13Speaker 3: I've definitely seen.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I think the first one I ever saw was Alien
- 9:17Speaker 1: Versus Predator, Like, so, yeah, I really liked the first one,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and then Aliens is fun that turns into like more
- 9:25Speaker 1: of an action movie. But I doubt I've seen the rest.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Maybe I don't know, but a bunch of them.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they're fun. I had a great time with them.
- 9:34Speaker 1: It was a good experience. I really liked it. I
- 9:36Speaker 1: didn't kick anyone's seat. I mean, all in all, we
- 9:38Speaker 1: called it a win. We call it a win. How
- 9:41Speaker 1: about you? What's the last movie you watched.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I also went to the theater. I saw the new
- 9:46Speaker 3: m Night Shyamalan movie featuring our Minnesota guy did.
- 9:52Speaker 1: What did you think? What is it called again? It's
- 9:54Speaker 1: called Trap Trap, that's right.
- 9:57Speaker 3: And I thought it was fun. It wasn't life changing
- 10:00Speaker 3: or anything, but I thought it was fun. It's not
- 10:03Speaker 3: especially like gory, which was nice, or like there weren't
- 10:08Speaker 3: super crazy twists that you're expecting from from that director.
- 10:12Speaker 3: But it's a fun psychological thriller. It's about Josh Hartnett
- 10:18Speaker 3: bringing his daughter to a concert and it's all an
- 10:20Speaker 3: elaborate ruse to try and catch a serial killer. Oh cool,
- 10:25Speaker 3: And M Knight got to feature his daughter, Selecca Sileca
- 10:32Speaker 3: Sileca Shyamalan, who plays a pop star like Taylor Swift.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And apparently she wrote and sang the songs during the concert.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Really like she really gets to be showcased in it.
- 10:46Speaker 1: So good, Like she's good. You're like, damn good for you.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I guess to be a little bit right, But that's cool.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know, there was choreo and the whole
- 10:55Speaker 3: thing and dancers and it's in a big stadium and
- 10:59Speaker 3: I think it's probably be pretty cool for him, just
- 11:01Speaker 3: to be able to show off his daughter.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Like, why not, that's neat and that's really cool.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah it was. It was definitely fun man. And I
- 11:09Speaker 3: hadn't seen Josh Hartnett like be the lead in something
- 11:13Speaker 3: in a very long time.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I mean forty days forty nice like, yeah, I can
- 11:18Speaker 1: the last time, I don't.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Even can't remember.
- 11:20Speaker 1: So the last was Oppenheimer, right, but even before that,
- 11:25Speaker 1: even as a side character, I felt like it had
- 11:27Speaker 1: been a super long time.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yep, well that's cool. It's definitely worth checking out. And
- 11:32Speaker 3: he did. He did a great job.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Oh, very cool. Love it.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Yeah, have you been streaming anything fun?
- 11:38Speaker 2: Uh?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah? So I decided, I uh, you know me, I
- 11:42Speaker 1: like to have like a nice little comedy in my
- 11:45Speaker 1: back pocket for whenever I need something to watch.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I do know that about it.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I decided to start over. And I don't know if
- 11:52Speaker 1: I've seen all of them, so it might be my
- 11:54Speaker 1: first full run through. But of thirty Rock oh Hulu. Yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: I went back. I went back back in the day
- 12:02Speaker 1: on us here, which I should look it up. I
- 12:05Speaker 1: don't even know when it started.
- 12:08Speaker 3: It was when we were in college.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and it it feels high school in a fun way,
- 12:14Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like not a two thousand
- 12:16Speaker 1: and six. Yeah, so I was in college, but yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 1: what a what a fun show dude. Jack McBriar is
- 12:25Speaker 1: hysterical in it. Tracy Morgan, Alec Baldwin t fe. I mean,
- 12:29Speaker 1: everyone knows this show so well that it feels raw,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but it's super funny. And it really does feel like
- 12:38Speaker 1: it's from a different era of comedies because it's like,
- 12:44Speaker 1: I don't know, they just they can do things in
- 12:46Speaker 1: a different way, which is kind of fun. And I
- 12:48Speaker 1: really have been having a nice time watching it.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Do you remember when it came out? Both that and
- 12:52Speaker 3: then Studio sixty on the Sunset Strip came out, and
- 12:55Speaker 3: they're both about SNL and Studio sixty just well together
- 13:02Speaker 3: we did. I was way more excited about that one
- 13:05Speaker 3: than thirty two. Well sixty was.
- 13:07Speaker 1: A little more like that was an hour, right, and
- 13:10Speaker 1: it was like drama a little bit more and stuff. Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I really liked that show with you. In fact, I
- 13:17Speaker 1: think we like, for a while, we're getting together every
- 13:20Speaker 1: week we play.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So we're watching it. Yeah, and we were like this
- 13:24Speaker 3: whole Matthew Perry like love story.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah, so dumb.
- 13:28Speaker 3: It's not great, and why not?
- 13:30Speaker 1: I wish it was cool stuff? Really please? Yeah, it's
- 13:35Speaker 1: so close to being great, come on. Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 3: But then they went and figured out all those issues
- 13:40Speaker 3: and made the news room awesome.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Truth. That's a good point. That's a good point.
- 13:45Speaker 3: But Dirty Rock was definitely the winner.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Dirty Rock silly, good time, comedy, crazy stuff. It's pretty wild.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But how about you? Have you been streaming anything fun?
- 13:55Speaker 3: I finally went and finished The Bear season three. Awesome.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Now that's the most recent season. Is that correct?
- 14:04Speaker 3: That's correct?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Okay, great? Got it.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I do wish they would have gotten to some things
- 14:09Speaker 3: a little faster because it ends as like a two
- 14:12Speaker 3: be continued and it left everything open ended, and I
- 14:15Speaker 3: want the next season out right this second, So I
- 14:18Speaker 3: want it now. I want it now.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I get that.
- 14:23Speaker 3: But I felt like they really went in on each
- 14:26Speaker 3: character in their backstory this season. Maybe not everyone, but
- 14:32Speaker 3: but some people were like, yeah, I wonder what their
- 14:34Speaker 3: deal is? They like really get into it, and some
- 14:39Speaker 3: of those episodes are just so impressive, just the storytelling,
- 14:44Speaker 3: the acting.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Funnier to this season, like some of the shine through
- 14:53Speaker 1: a little bit more like the the one guy who's
- 14:56Speaker 1: got all the tattoos and is a chef and.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Realized mad Nathanson.
- 15:02Speaker 1: He's so funny.
- 15:03Speaker 3: He is funny.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Him and his brother and that in that are just
- 15:07Speaker 1: so funny.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Yeah, they're hilarious. They're like so positive to each other,
- 15:12Speaker 3: but also give each other so much flak in like.
- 15:15Speaker 1: A very aggressive way though.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's really.
- 15:19Speaker 3: It's a relationship I've never seen.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so good.
- 15:25Speaker 3: That's really funny.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's awesome.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And all the guest actors are still great, Oh my god. Yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 3: everyone shines in.
- 15:33Speaker 1: It an embarrassment of riches with all that, and really
- 15:37Speaker 1: it's like talking about some interesting stuff when it comes
- 15:40Speaker 1: to like perfection and striving for you know, like I
- 15:45Speaker 1: don't know, it's really interesting, like life and fun and
- 15:49Speaker 1: balance when it comes to career, it's it's it's intriguing.
- 15:53Speaker 3: It is.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you, though I wish they would have
- 15:56Speaker 1: like done two seasons and then both to us at
- 16:01Speaker 1: the same time. I'm a greedy little pig.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Greedy They like teased stuff throughout the whole season and
- 16:10Speaker 3: then we didn't get any you didn't get any payoff yet,
- 16:14Speaker 3: and I'm just like, come on, man, please, Yeah, I'm invested.
- 16:21Speaker 3: So they got me.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And then luckily it's wonderful acting and stuff. So it
- 16:25Speaker 1: is at least it's you know, it doesn't feel like
- 16:29Speaker 1: we're just treading water right, like it's.
- 16:32Speaker 3: It's not like lost towards the just like on.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Where they were literally treading water till they signed the
- 16:40Speaker 1: contract for when they could end right and then reading
- 16:44Speaker 1: about that later and being like, so many things make
- 16:47Speaker 1: sense now to me.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Yeah, like what in the world, And there were polar
- 16:52Speaker 3: bears at one point, and she's like, what is happening?
- 16:54Speaker 5: Yeah, it's something, it's something anyway, something we digress.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Perhaps we should digress to the interweb, should we do?
- 17:03Speaker 3: If you plug a rounies, I think we should.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Nice you guess can visit us as always over on

- 17:37Speaker 3: To Jackie Huston, deb Olk and Noel Flores. You guys
- 17:40Speaker 3: are wonderful. Thank you so much. And another perk that
- 17:45Speaker 3: will give our patrons is an extended version of every
- 17:48Speaker 3: episode we put out we called our podcast and chill version. Yeah. Well,
- 17:52Speaker 3: we do top five dreve that pertains to the movie
- 17:55Speaker 3: that we're talking about. And for this one kind of
- 17:59Speaker 3: silly and fun, we're gonna do a top five fourth
- 18:03Speaker 3: movies in a franchise draft.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I love it. I love it so great.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Only number four, only the fourth movie.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny. Specific When you said that, I was like, yep,
- 18:17Speaker 1: that's the one. Well, probably won't run into that one
- 18:20Speaker 1: a lot more.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Let's do it, No, for sure not.
- 18:24Speaker 1: It was one of the few where we were we
- 18:26Speaker 1: didn't have to be like, I think we already did that.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I think we might have done.
- 18:29Speaker 3: No, we didn't have to because we were like, did
- 18:31Speaker 3: you do Eddie Murphy movies? Did we do that one?
- 18:33Speaker 3: I don't know if we've done Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so funny, so great calling that. That'll be fun.
- 18:39Speaker 1: We'll all look forward to that. But oh yeah, and
- 18:43Speaker 1: coming attractions, we'll be doing the first of a movie series,
- 18:49Speaker 1: a wonderful little foo called Speed. You ever heard of it?
- 18:53Speaker 1: I have? I have two, two of us.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Have there been more than two?
- 19:00Speaker 1: I think there has? I think there was Speed three?
- 19:02Speaker 3: Right hold on, Oh my goodness, I should know that.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I just remember Speed two Cruise Control, and that is
- 19:08Speaker 3: a great one for the movie Grid Game.
- 19:10Speaker 1: By the way, I never saw that. I'm not gonna
- 19:13Speaker 1: lie to you.
- 19:14Speaker 3: You are not missing much.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Is there a Speed three? I feel like there was.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It's in the works apparently, so we'll probably talk about
- 19:29Speaker 1: that more on the next episode.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Cool, awesome, I'm excited to talk about Speed.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Speed will be a ton of fun. It will be
- 19:39Speaker 1: that movie will hit me straight in the nostalgias. I
- 19:42Speaker 1: think I can.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Tell you I watched it this very day, and you
- 19:46Speaker 3: will get hit with the estia. Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I'm so excited. I'm so excited we are here today
- 19:52Speaker 1: to talk about another film that will sort of hit
- 19:54Speaker 1: the nostalge button. I think but it is a new version.
- 19:58Speaker 1: This is Beverly Hills.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Axel if FUF.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Which was just released I don't know, like a month
- 20:05Speaker 1: ago or something at this point. Yeah, something like that.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And I couldn't be more excited to talk about this.
- 20:11Speaker 1: So rob, let's get it started right away. Hit me
- 20:14Speaker 1: with that rough synopsis.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Coming at you. Axel Fully returns to Beverly Hills after
- 20:22Speaker 3: his daughter's life is threatened and works with old pals
- 20:25Speaker 3: John Taggart and Billy Rosewood to uncover a conspiracy.
- 20:31Speaker 1: All right, that could that could have been it for
- 20:34Speaker 1: any of them.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I feel like plot plot synopsis for the new ones
- 20:38Speaker 3: are usually pretty.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Pretty pretty generic. Okay, great, let's hear what Rotten Tomatoes
- 20:45Speaker 1: has to say. Critics have it coming in at a
- 20:47Speaker 1: not awesome but not awful sixty six percent boom. That's
- 20:52Speaker 1: pretty good.
- 20:54Speaker 3: It's okay, Honestly, it seems like what critics would think.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah, for this straight to Netflix movie, it's not like
- 21:02Speaker 1: we're covering a lot of like new ground or anything. Yep.
- 21:07Speaker 1: So yeah, audience members, though I was a little surprised,
- 21:10Speaker 1: I thought this might be a tiny bit higher, but
- 21:12Speaker 1: seventy seven percent pretty.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Care than critics, though, I figured that pretty solid.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I mean we're passing, we're getting a degree with that.
- 21:21Speaker 1: That's good.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Oh totally. I would have been happy with seventy seven.
- 21:24Speaker 1: To do it, seventy seven, I'm lacking it. My way
- 21:27Speaker 1: to the bank. I'm coming an international country music star.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Mom, Dan, I got to seventy seven. Woo.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's fun. Let's go in and let's hear
- 21:44Speaker 1: what we think about this film. Though. It's time for
- 21:46Speaker 1: our hot take.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Hot take.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That's a hot take.
- 21:51Speaker 3: That's a hot take. Oh oh out, yeah, I like
- 21:59Speaker 3: that a lot. It's fun.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That's all I got. I will go first. This movie
- 22:05Speaker 1: is really fun. I think I said on an earlier podcast,
- 22:10Speaker 1: before we knew we were gonna do an episode on it,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I was like, Axel, definitely f's and I love this
- 22:15Speaker 1: movie a ton. Yes, it is super duper nostalgic. I've
- 22:20Speaker 1: always loved all of the Beverly Hills Cops, even the
- 22:24Speaker 1: like not great ones like that third one is not awesome.
- 22:28Speaker 3: It's bad.
- 22:29Speaker 1: It's bad, it's bad, but I still really liked it.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I just like that, you know, we get this like
- 22:34Speaker 1: action movie that is super funny. Because Eddie Murphy's out
- 22:37Speaker 1: there doing his thing, being like hyper charismatic and just
- 22:42Speaker 1: super fun and great. And this one followed through with that.
- 22:47Speaker 1: There's great music in it. And I don't just mean
- 22:50Speaker 1: the axl F theme that we sort of alluded to
- 22:53Speaker 1: or all the variations on the theme that we heard got.
- 22:56Speaker 3: To be it's gotta be one of the most iconic
- 23:00Speaker 3: for sure, right themes. Maybe not like just overall, like
- 23:03Speaker 3: we're not gonna say like John Williams or something like that,
- 23:06Speaker 3: but for like silly cop movie.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yeah, amazing, man, Like no words, you know what I mean.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Like it's just the synth instrument, you know, yeap, Like
- 23:17Speaker 1: someone definitely was just playing that on a keyboard, right, yep.
- 23:20Speaker 1: They're just like, yeah, this will work whatever. So it's
- 23:24Speaker 1: super fun. But all the rest of the music and
- 23:25Speaker 1: it is great too. The soundtrack in general is super super.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Fu It is on like. I think that's in the
- 23:31Speaker 3: other ones too.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I think either the first one or the second one,
- 23:35Speaker 1: they really leaned into the nostalgia while also updating it
- 23:39Speaker 1: to today, which I thought was fun. Eddie Murphy has
- 23:42Speaker 1: still got it still looks good. I mean, he's got
- 23:44Speaker 1: to be what in his fifties for sure.
- 23:47Speaker 3: No, I think I think he said it was twenty
- 23:50Speaker 3: He was twenty three in the first one and sixty three.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Wow, sixty three. Well they look even better, amazing. Yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 1: he looks and he does just a great job. But
- 24:03Speaker 1: it keeps all the like same like wise cracks and stuff,
- 24:06Speaker 1: but we get like a touch more heart out of it,
- 24:08Speaker 1: which I actually I really enjoyed. It'll be interesting to
- 24:11Speaker 1: see what other people think. It's maybe a little heavy
- 24:14Speaker 1: handed at points, but we all know I don't care
- 24:17Speaker 1: about that, so here, yeah, I'm in no matter what. Uh,
- 24:23Speaker 1: some of the CGI is like a little bit questionable
- 24:28Speaker 1: what I'm trying to specifically when he's driving the like
- 24:33Speaker 1: meter maid there's probably a better word, but meter Maide's
- 24:36Speaker 1: like a little three wheeler thing down the stairs that
- 24:40Speaker 1: looks like they took the graphic of the car and we're.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Like kinking kin kink, like.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It doesn't look real at all, and maybe it just
- 24:49Speaker 1: looks weird because it's super light like I don't actually know,
- 24:52Speaker 1: but it looked like bad CGI. Okay, And there was
- 24:56Speaker 1: another one. I didn't write it down though, because I
- 24:58Speaker 1: don't remember it, but I was like, okay, wow, that's
- 25:01Speaker 1: pretty that's pretty tough. Oh like the the bullet holes
- 25:05Speaker 1: and stuff, sure, and all that are like not, they're
- 25:09Speaker 1: not awesome. It's fine, it's whatever. It's not what I'm
- 25:12Speaker 1: here for, right, so I don't care. But I was
- 25:14Speaker 1: just like a little little rough around the edges maybe
- 25:18Speaker 1: or whatever. But overall, I think it's super fun. We
- 25:21Speaker 1: get a great villain in this who I know we'll
- 25:23Speaker 1: talk about and you know, Kevin Bacon's Kevinyl. We get
- 25:28Speaker 1: like some great cameos from people I deeply love because
- 25:32Speaker 1: I love the whole series, and we get some new
- 25:36Speaker 1: people in there, and it's just super fun. I really
- 25:39Speaker 1: liked it. I thought it was just as charming as
- 25:41Speaker 1: the other ones. I can totally see if you're not
- 25:44Speaker 1: a fan of the series not being into this right
- 25:47Speaker 1: because it's just like it's the same mish vibe. But
- 25:51Speaker 1: beings that we liked it, I really liked it, so
- 25:55Speaker 1: I don't really I really tried to think of a
- 25:57Speaker 1: hot take, and I I couldn't really think of one.
- 26:01Speaker 1: So hot take. I thought the the who's the commissioner guy?
- 26:08Speaker 1: I thought he was dead? So I was very happy
- 26:11Speaker 1: in this movie.
- 26:12Speaker 3: No, not Paul John Taggert Taggert.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Yes, I thought Taggart had died for some reason. So
- 26:18Speaker 1: when he was in it, I was like, oh, how lovely.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I really think him back just for this. I really
- 26:24Speaker 1: thought he passed. I don't know why, because the whole time,
- 26:28Speaker 1: like going into it, I was like, I won't know
- 26:30Speaker 1: what they're gonna do, if they'll just like mention him
- 26:32Speaker 1: or whatever. But well, because he looked old forty years
- 26:36Speaker 1: ago and this is the good When we watched it
- 26:39Speaker 1: back in the day, he was probably like thirty five,
- 26:42Speaker 1: and we were like this, this guy's dead basically yeah. Yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 1: but yeah, so that's my hot take with us.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yes, that is hot. So I have a very similar take.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I had a great time with this film. I can
- 27:02Speaker 3: distinctly remember being eleven years old and waiting for the
- 27:05Speaker 3: third Beverly Hills cop movie to come out and being
- 27:08Speaker 3: so excited and then was super underwhelmed and it bummed
- 27:12Speaker 3: me out. Like even at the time, I was.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Just like, oh, it was very good.
- 27:16Speaker 6: Right, It's not Wally World, but yeah, but it's like
- 27:21Speaker 6: they're fake Walt Disney World. Yeah, And I just remember
- 27:25Speaker 6: at the time being like this isn't good, right.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Like we can all agree, we all know this. Yeah,
- 27:31Speaker 3: It's just like I was so excited and they did
- 27:33Speaker 3: such a good job marketing. I think they probably lost
- 27:36Speaker 3: a lot of money because they marketed the hell out
- 27:38Speaker 3: of that movie. But anyway, so I came in with
- 27:40Speaker 3: pretty low expectations for this one, and I ended up
- 27:44Speaker 3: liking it a lot. It was directed by a guy
- 27:46Speaker 3: named Mark malloy, and this is his feature film directorial debut.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Good work.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Thought he did a very good job for that. It
- 27:55Speaker 3: was upbeat, the action was fun. I loved that everyone
- 28:00Speaker 3: came back to help us live in the nostalgia of
- 28:02Speaker 3: the First Ones with John Ashton, Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser,
- 28:08Speaker 3: Bronson Pinchot enjoyed the new editions. Like you said, I
- 28:13Speaker 3: thought this story was pretty solid though. He started in Detroit,
- 28:16Speaker 3: yep and had to make his way to Beverly Hills,
- 28:19Speaker 3: but this time it was because his daughter lives there
- 28:22Speaker 3: and she was in trouble working on a case with
- 28:24Speaker 3: Judge Reinhold, and I just thought it was fun how
- 28:26Speaker 3: they were able to weave that and make it seem believable. Yeah. Yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 3: the theme song was in my head hard after watching this.
- 28:36Speaker 3: It still is but I enjoyed it. It was way better
- 28:40Speaker 3: than it had any right to be and a solid
- 28:43Speaker 3: Netflix film. My hot take. I had mentioned this when
- 28:47Speaker 3: I had talked about it as well. I missed the
- 28:49Speaker 3: Eddie Murphy laugh. It always made me small.
- 28:52Speaker 1: When you mentioned that, I was like, oh my god,
- 28:53Speaker 1: you're right.
- 28:54Speaker 3: It makes me sad that he doesn't do the laugh.
- 28:56Speaker 3: And I told you that I had heard in an
- 28:59Speaker 3: interview that he hated how when people would do impressions
- 29:02Speaker 3: of him, they would that's all their laugh because that
- 29:05Speaker 3: was his real laugh. So he got so self conscious
- 29:09Speaker 3: about it that he does not laugh like that anymore.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I hate it. I hate it, like it was just
- 29:15Speaker 1: the best laugh.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Another hot take, the shoot McGavin cameo made no
- 29:22Speaker 3: sense whatsoever, But I still kind of like you. And
- 29:27Speaker 3: and even hotter take. Luis Guzman, who I usually love,
- 29:32Speaker 3: was horrible in this.
- 29:35Speaker 1: A strong move, strong move that they did with that.
- 29:38Speaker 3: I don't know why not understand it. It was a
- 29:42Speaker 3: bummer because I really like him.
- 29:44Speaker 1: He's so good and I was just like, what's going
- 29:47Speaker 1: on here?
- 29:47Speaker 3: This is a bummer.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I do love you, but also.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but that's my hottest take.
- 29:55Speaker 1: That's a hot take, Buddy, hot take. Should we go
- 30:00Speaker 1: talk about one of our most controversial, probably ever awards here,
- 30:05Speaker 1: let's do our favorite acting performance.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Let's name the dude the dude.
- 30:09Speaker 7: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 30:12Speaker 7: know that? Or his dude or duder or you know
- 30:18Speaker 7: el dud reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing,
- 30:21Speaker 7: go for it.
- 30:21Speaker 3: You do it.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Ah, Well, it's I think it's Eddie Murphy, and I
- 30:25Speaker 1: don't think it's particularly.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Close interesting, interesting.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I was trying to think of who I could say
- 30:32Speaker 1: that would be the weirdest Bronson Pincha. He's magnificent.
- 30:37Speaker 3: He is magnificent.
- 30:39Speaker 1: We'll talk about yes, Yeah, Eddie's just the best. I
- 30:43Speaker 1: don't know, this is such a great role for him
- 30:46Speaker 1: because it's like he is so funny, but and Axel
- 30:52Speaker 1: is also funny, but that's not the main like crux
- 30:56Speaker 1: of the role. Like he's also just a good cop
- 30:59Speaker 1: and an action star. And I don't know, he's just great.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I think he's so good on this that I really believed,
- 31:05Speaker 1: like the stuff, like the lines he was saying, the
- 31:08Speaker 1: emotional kind of lines about his daughter and stuff I
- 31:11Speaker 1: really bought that this time, and I don't I don't remember.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I don't remember that sort of vein being in the
- 31:20Speaker 1: other ones necessarily all the time. I guess about his
- 31:24Speaker 1: old boss, I guess you know, he like loved him.
- 31:27Speaker 1: But yeah, like in general, I just I thought he
- 31:30Speaker 1: did great in this and I just think he's he's
- 31:33Speaker 1: so fun and funny and not everything he does is
- 31:37Speaker 1: perfect because he's kind of an older dude now, but
- 31:40Speaker 1: it's so great. I love it. It's really really wonderful.
- 31:43Speaker 1: I don't know, so it's him to.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Me, absolutely, it's absolutely him. He's still rocking that old
- 31:51Speaker 3: Detroit Lions jacket. Yeah, it makes it look good later,
- 31:55Speaker 3: so sick too.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I love that.
- 31:58Speaker 3: And this is the movie that really made him a
- 31:59Speaker 3: super stars, So it was fun to see him back
- 32:01Speaker 3: in that role, causing the chaos wherever he goes. And yeah,
- 32:07Speaker 3: I agree, he's he's great And you could tell there
- 32:10Speaker 3: were some scenes that he for sure was ad libbing
- 32:13Speaker 3: and just being silly. Even got Taylor Page, who plays
- 32:19Speaker 3: his daughter, to to laugh and one scene and they
- 32:22Speaker 3: kept it in, which I liked.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I loved that a lot. I thought that was really fun.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, so he's a comedic genius. But he really plays
- 32:32Speaker 3: this role. Well.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Yeah, like this award could be the axle Folly Award,
- 32:36Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like for sure, and I
- 32:39Speaker 1: would have bought it, you know.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Like for sure.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm in yep, but so clean sweep for him.
- 32:45Speaker 1: How about some of the supporters you want to name
- 32:47Speaker 1: the Yeah, you first.
- 32:53Speaker 3: This, I'll go first this time. Please, I'm going to
- 32:55Speaker 3: give it to a newcomer.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I love it.
- 32:57Speaker 3: I'm giving it to Joseph Gordon Levitt as Detective by Abbot.
- 33:01Speaker 1: He was wonderful and I wanted more of him almost.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Yeah. I really liked his backstory with Jane.
- 33:09Speaker 7: Uh.
- 33:09Speaker 3: He definitely had the biggest body count. That dude was
- 33:11Speaker 3: killing people.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he did not hesitate for a moment.
- 33:16Speaker 3: He did not. I enjoyed that he was like psychoanalyzing everyone,
- 33:22Speaker 3: which was kind of funn He was very in touch
- 33:24Speaker 3: with his feelings.
- 33:25Speaker 1: The chopper thing was a little silly.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I still enjoyed it very much. Don't get me into it.
- 33:33Speaker 3: He's so nervous up there. Oh so funny. Look after
- 33:36Speaker 3: I thought I thought he was a really fun character.
- 33:38Speaker 3: It was it was more than you needed for a
- 33:42Speaker 3: character like that. Agreed, he brought a lot.
- 33:44Speaker 1: To it because it could have just been like a
- 33:48Speaker 1: like a Reggie and Bad Boys kind of situation where
- 33:51Speaker 1: he just used him to get to some jokes. But
- 33:53Speaker 1: he was he was fun. Yeah. I liked him in
- 33:55Speaker 1: general a lot. That's a good show. I liked that
- 33:58Speaker 1: a lot. We mentioned and Kevin Bacon at the beginning.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I think he's pretty great in this, And he's pretty
- 34:03Speaker 1: great as a bad guy in general. Like he's he
- 34:05Speaker 1: can be kind of smarmy and you know, gross. Maybe
- 34:10Speaker 1: it's because he's handsome, so you want to hate him,
- 34:12Speaker 1: so it's easy to go there.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Yeah. It seems so silly though, like he was pointing
- 34:17Speaker 3: out all the like he's got a Rolex and he's yeah,
- 34:19Speaker 3: yeah too. It's just like, well, dude, dear, this was
- 34:22Speaker 3: pretty good.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Bad guy was good at being a right right Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 1: for sure. But I thought it was fun. I liked him.
- 34:33Speaker 1: It was fun to see Nasim Pedro in this. She
- 34:36Speaker 1: doesn't do a ton of stuff totally.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yeah, she shined in this. She too. Yeah, I loved
- 34:43Speaker 3: it so funny.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I liked that.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I hadn't seen her in a long time.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Me neither. And Bronson Pincho is just fantastic.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Dude, such a weirdo. That accent, it's just this made
- 34:57Speaker 3: up accent. He just pronounces words goofy to be funny
- 35:01Speaker 3: and it works.
- 35:02Speaker 1: It always works so much. Ah well, well.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Yeah, so dumb. He's like, yeah, it's just like it's
- 35:14Speaker 3: a pretty easy one. Yeah.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I love it so much though. Yeah, that's so funny.
- 35:19Speaker 3: It was fun seeing Judge Reinhold and I saw on
- 35:22Speaker 3: the trivia that he hadn't done anything for almost seven years,
- 35:25Speaker 3: pretty so that was fun that he came back. He
- 35:28Speaker 3: has just the silliest voice. His voice has always made
- 35:33Speaker 3: me laugh.
- 35:33Speaker 1: It's bizarre. Yeah, it's so.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Just like soothing, and he's always here. He's always just.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Like not really a whisper, but close close, yeah whisper.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah. I feel like he should be like a yoga
- 35:48Speaker 3: instructor or something.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Also, he somehow is like the one that looks the
- 35:52Speaker 1: oldest in the.
- 35:54Speaker 3: No, that other dude that John Ashton for sure looks older,
- 35:57Speaker 3: but he does. He does seemed to have age. Eddie Murray,
- 36:01Speaker 3: I don't know what Eddie Murphy's doing because he does
- 36:04Speaker 3: not look like he's so.
- 36:05Speaker 1: He's got those but he's got that rich Man Skincare
- 36:09Speaker 1: product line or something going on.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Yep, Yeah, for sure. And it was really fun seeing
- 36:15Speaker 3: Paul Reiser. Yes, I thought that. Honestly, he was the
- 36:19Speaker 3: most believable as the guys. He's turned out to be
- 36:25Speaker 3: a pretty decent actor.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Totally agree, And that's kind of what she did more honestly,
- 36:32Speaker 1: he's really fun mm hmmm. And the Taylor Page who
- 36:36Speaker 1: we mentioned in passing. I thought she did a good job.
- 36:38Speaker 1: She did. It's always hard in a movie like this
- 36:41Speaker 1: because it's not like she's ever going to get to shine,
- 36:44Speaker 1: you know, because it's Axles movie. But like, I thought
- 36:47Speaker 1: she did good and some of her retorts were fun
- 36:49Speaker 1: and whatever. But she didn't really like get to be
- 36:52Speaker 1: funny too much or anything like that. And I don't
- 36:54Speaker 1: know if that's her deal. I don't think I've ever
- 36:57Speaker 1: seen her in anything before.
- 36:58Speaker 3: I watched her in an eight twenty four film that
- 37:01Speaker 3: I did not like called Zola. It was her and
- 37:04Speaker 3: Riley Keo and oh okay, but but she was good
- 37:11Speaker 3: in it. Yeah, But that was the only other time
- 37:14Speaker 3: I'd ever seen her.
- 37:15Speaker 1: I guess she was in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, which
- 37:17Speaker 1: is the movie I saw, but I don't remember I.
- 37:19Speaker 3: Did, and I man, yeah, I couldn't tell you much
- 37:23Speaker 3: about that movie.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Well, we all just were like seeing Chadwick and Chadwick,
- 37:27Speaker 1: Oh my god, so what is going on here?
- 37:30Speaker 3: He was like half of himself in that movie. It
- 37:32Speaker 3: was really sad and that.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:39Speaker 3: But yeah, to throw a shout out at that Detroit
- 37:43Speaker 3: Lions jacket.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I love that jacket. So sick, yeah, so sick. Nice. Yeah.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Well, let's go to some of these scenes, a bunch
- 37:52Speaker 3: of fun scenes. Let's let's pick our favorite one, and
- 37:55Speaker 3: let's choose the doingus the soding.
- 38:00Speaker 1: This is quite simple, really, dingus, dingus. I could talk
- 38:03Speaker 1: about my dingus all night long. You can go first
- 38:06Speaker 1: if you'd like, sir, listen. I think stealing the chopper
- 38:12Speaker 1: was stupid, and I also love that scene a ton,
- 38:14Speaker 1: so I had a great time. Their repartee in that
- 38:18Speaker 1: scene was really fun. They had really good chemistry together,
- 38:21Speaker 1: which I really liked a lot. And being that he
- 38:25Speaker 1: was such a badass, like, maybe we do get another
- 38:28Speaker 1: one that's more centered on him than Axel or something,
- 38:32Speaker 1: or just another Axle movie. Let's just watch another Acxle movie.
- 38:35Speaker 3: I'd watched another one if it's as good as this one.
- 38:38Speaker 1: But yeah, just their interaction in the lines during that
- 38:40Speaker 1: scene I thought was really funny. And it's he goes
- 38:43Speaker 1: from this guy who is, like you said, admittedly maybe
- 38:47Speaker 1: a little fast on the trigger and not thinking about repercussions,
- 38:51Speaker 1: but he is so scared and like fretful when he's
- 38:56Speaker 1: up in that chopper. It's just so good. I loved it.
- 39:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna pass out.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I'm going to pass out. No, you can't, you can't
- 39:04Speaker 1: do like that's so funny. I thought was really good.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I liked that one was fun. What did you have
- 39:10Speaker 3: for I would I would definitely throw that on there.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I would just do the escape it up into the copter. Yes,
- 39:17Speaker 3: that was also because that was fun. I'm at the
- 39:19Speaker 3: jail scene and yeah, all that. I was definitely going
- 39:24Speaker 3: to talk about the opening sequence.
- 39:27Speaker 1: That was my other one with the plow and all
- 39:30Speaker 1: that good stuff.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Hmm.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Yeah. So you first you have him in the opening
- 39:35Speaker 3: credits driving all around Detroit. Everybody knows axel Foley. That
- 39:38Speaker 3: was really fun, and then shows up at a Red
- 39:40Speaker 3: Wings so we definitely know they're in Detroit. They're really
- 39:45Speaker 3: throwing that at us.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I believe that Blue Car was also in the first movie.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Similar, but I really liked that guy. I didn't mention
- 39:58Speaker 3: mention him in the Tucci. It was Mike Woody whatever
- 40:03Speaker 3: that actor's name was. He was really fun and you know,
- 40:07Speaker 3: he idolizes Axel Foley and he's so excited that he
- 40:10Speaker 3: asked him to hang out at this his hockey game
- 40:13Speaker 3: for sure, and he's pretty much just using him to
- 40:17Speaker 3: stop a robbery and they chase him all through Detroit
- 40:21Speaker 3: and between them, so so funny. Dude.
- 40:25Speaker 1: His name is Kyle s Moore.
- 40:27Speaker 3: He was fun.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Yeah. I liked him a lot.
- 40:29Speaker 3: He was really fun. Yeah, So I'd probably throw that
- 40:33Speaker 3: one as my favorite. I had a couple other runner ups.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I love that. Uh. All I wrote was any scene
- 40:40Speaker 1: with Surge is a good scene for me.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Sure.
- 40:44Speaker 1: So when they're going into the house, I thought that
- 40:46Speaker 1: was fun. Him and the other one Pedrod, and just
- 40:51Speaker 1: all of them, they're all kind of like playing characters
- 40:53Speaker 1: and whatever, and it's it's just really fun. I liked that.
- 40:57Speaker 1: That was like a super low stakes set of sceneans
- 41:00Speaker 1: but they were just really fun and silly.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I liked him totally. I was that that is for sure.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Is that open house that nice that they go to,
- 41:10Speaker 3: that it was so much fun. Everything that came out
- 41:13Speaker 3: of her mouth made me laugh.
- 41:15Speaker 1: She was stealing it, like I hate it too. I
- 41:18Speaker 1: hate this.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Right, yeah, yeah, it's like bathrooms when we use them,
- 41:24Speaker 3: totally same same, same, like.
- 41:28Speaker 1: All right, cool, yeah, I love that. What were some
- 41:32Speaker 1: of your other runners up or did you have any?
- 41:34Speaker 3: Honestly, those were the three so I said, the opening sequence,
- 41:39Speaker 3: the police headquarters and then stealing the chopper and the
- 41:43Speaker 3: the open house. Those are the ones I wrote down.
- 41:46Speaker 1: The only other one I'll mention is all three of
- 41:48Speaker 1: them back in the car at the very end. Sure,
- 41:52Speaker 1: it's just fun from a again a pure nostalgia standpoint, porn. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 1: fuck it, let's go get a porterhouse or you know,
- 41:59Speaker 1: like he says, right, I was just like, yeah, that's fun,
- 42:02Speaker 1: Like we.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Both know I'm going to get in, going to do
- 42:05Speaker 3: what he's or whatever he says.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so funny. It really did feel like that
- 42:10Speaker 1: could have been you, me and pick any of our
- 42:13Speaker 1: you know, third friend here and we're just like, yeah,
- 42:16Speaker 1: let's just go, let's go hang out. We'll have a
- 42:18Speaker 1: nice time, you know or whatever, right, Like, who are
- 42:21Speaker 1: we kidding? Let's go.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that was really fun. Yeah, I liked that a lot.
- 42:26Speaker 1: But if we had to pick one, I'm kind of
- 42:29Speaker 1: with like that first scene with the plow is I'm there. Yeah,
- 42:34Speaker 1: I'm there too, because it really sets the scene so
- 42:36Speaker 1: well for the whole movie, and just that the plow
- 42:40Speaker 1: chase is like a really fun conceit right off the
- 42:43Speaker 1: bath and it's a super yeah. I will happily pick that.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I think it's coo.
- 42:47Speaker 3: And then it led to Paul Reiser's character having to
- 42:53Speaker 3: retire early because they needed to fall guy or something,
- 42:57Speaker 3: which it made for are some some good moments between them.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Totally totally seemed kind of silly, but I thought the
- 43:06Speaker 3: acting was good.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. I liked it a lot. It
- 43:09Speaker 1: was a super strong, like first act for the movie, right,
- 43:13Speaker 1: like I really yeah, I was into it. So I'm
- 43:17Speaker 1: cool that that sounds fun.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Let's do it. Well, let's do some quotes.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Yeah, let's show me the money, show me the money,
- 43:27Speaker 1: show you want to start.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Sure, this one was tough because we usually use IMDb
- 43:37Speaker 3: and they literally had four quotes, so some of these
- 43:41Speaker 3: are maybe not word for word and that they might
- 43:45Speaker 3: you know what I mean. But when they're at the
- 43:48Speaker 3: hockey game and Axel is talking about the Winnipeg Black
- 43:51Speaker 3: guys and Mike Wood, he wasn't aware and he's like,
- 43:54Speaker 3: I can do better. I will do, but I will,
- 43:56Speaker 3: he says, and that Axel is like, I can be
- 43:59Speaker 3: a better white man and he's white man voice, you know,
- 44:02Speaker 3: which is so great, and he's like, but then if
- 44:04Speaker 3: I do you, and he's like, it would be wildly offensive.
- 44:09Speaker 3: It was good, a little back and forth. The after
- 44:14Speaker 3: he gets out of the handcuffs, he just says, misspent
- 44:17Speaker 3: youth that came back, which was fun, so fun. I
- 44:21Speaker 3: like when he's talking to his daughter about when she
- 44:25Speaker 3: changes her name and he's like, fully, it just makes
- 44:28Speaker 3: me smile When I say it fully he smiles and
- 44:31Speaker 3: he's like Saunders Saunders a. And that's when we get
- 44:41Speaker 3: to see her laugh a little bit, one really quick
- 44:48Speaker 3: one that just like caught me off guard and it
- 44:51Speaker 3: made me laugh and you could tell it was just
- 44:52Speaker 3: an Eddie Murphy on the spot. But when they are
- 44:56Speaker 3: at the hotel, there's like a club up front, and
- 44:59Speaker 3: he's tending to be like a fire chief or something.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Totally he's struggling. Jane comes up says, you know, well,
- 45:07Speaker 3: the fire chief he was fired for being drunk on
- 45:09Speaker 3: the job, and just like as a side acts as
- 45:12Speaker 3: like here need it on the wall, just like.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Something so good, just like I don't know that we
- 45:21Speaker 1: needed that, but all right, come on.
- 45:23Speaker 3: I'm helping. I'm helping to But that caught me off
- 45:27Speaker 3: guard and it actually made me laugh. It made me
- 45:30Speaker 3: l O L. Why do you hit some up.
- 45:35Speaker 1: When they're in what are they in? They're in that
- 45:39Speaker 1: like box truck at the end when they're getting the backup,
- 45:43Speaker 1: which I thought was so funny, Like that was a
- 45:46Speaker 1: funny idea for that too. I raised my brand and
- 45:50Speaker 1: they call I think they call Riser and he's like,
- 45:53Speaker 1: stay safe, stay safe. And then he's like, y'all say,
- 45:55Speaker 1: if everybody's safe, I'm good. And then in the middle,
- 45:58Speaker 1: just like kind of cheapish Joseph Gordon lenif goes there's
- 46:02Speaker 1: no seatbelt in the middle, he's just like the seatbelt
- 46:05Speaker 1: we on the edge.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Yeah. Nice, I just love it. Definitely made me think
- 46:10Speaker 3: of I'm ay on the end, Yes, exactly.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Same s Also apparently I only have ones where they're
- 46:18Speaker 1: in trucks. When they're in the truck at the beginning,
- 46:21Speaker 1: and he gets on the phone with Ris right He's like, hey,
- 46:25Speaker 1: Jeffrey Man, I was just trying to watch my beloved Redskins.
- 46:29Speaker 3: And then Detective Mike wood Wings red Wings.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, red Wings.
- 46:32Speaker 3: What did I say, Redskins?
- 46:34Speaker 1: Oh Jesus, well, at least I went for the racial
- 46:38Speaker 1: slurred You're fantastic here.
- 46:43Speaker 7: Uh.
- 46:43Speaker 1: And then Detective Mike Woody, this guy, the Woodman. Oh,
- 46:46Speaker 1: he's a hell of a detective. He thinks these guys
- 46:49Speaker 1: just might be connected to the murders down on South
- 46:52Speaker 1: south Side, jewelers down on six Oh he does does
- 46:55Speaker 1: he no offense?
- 46:56Speaker 4: But Detective Woody hasn't solved a crime in five years.
- 47:01Speaker 4: He's finally coming into his own Jeffrey. Yeah, that like
- 47:05Speaker 4: red Farte. And then right after that, he's like, you're
- 47:08Speaker 4: the Woodman. He's like, I'm not the Woodman. I'm not
- 47:10Speaker 4: the Woodman. You are the Woodman, and you're gonna get promoted.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Let's go. Let's go get that promotion. Yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 1: So funny, god, I was, but just the Hey, Jeffrey Man,
- 47:21Speaker 1: it's just like classic our guy Eddie Murphy, so so good.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I love that.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Also, it was kind of a dumb scene. But the
- 47:31Speaker 1: stop it with the pepper spray. You don't even have
- 47:33Speaker 1: to use that much. Oh yeah, really got me good?
- 47:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I loved that.
- 47:39Speaker 1: It was really fun. Let's see, children are such a gift. Yeah,
- 47:46Speaker 1: unless they're not. My own kid is a bit of
- 47:49Speaker 1: a little.
- 47:51Speaker 3: I mean he's a bit of a loser.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Yeah he's Oh yeah, he's a bit of a loser.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I mean he's four. But you can tell classes and everything.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Nice, so rude. I loved that too, funny.
- 48:04Speaker 1: I was just giggling the whole time.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Yeah, uh so so good.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Uh Jesus, Billy, you look like, well they've been torturing
- 48:13Speaker 1: me for two days. What's your excuse?
- 48:15Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 48:16Speaker 3: Nice?
- 48:17Speaker 1: I just love I loved that. That was fun. You
- 48:22Speaker 1: have more? Sorry, I don't need to say three.
- 48:24Speaker 3: More, all right? Yeah, Detective Abbot when he gets suspended
- 48:29Speaker 3: a says congratulations, I do some of my best work
- 48:31Speaker 3: when I'm suspended. Love like that. So when uh Surge
- 48:39Speaker 3: calls the couple in the back a couple of t
- 48:42Speaker 3: T monkeys, and ax was like, Axel is like, he
- 48:47Speaker 3: can't be calling black folks monkeys, even with that accent.
- 48:50Speaker 3: You give.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Matter of fact about it, just like, no, no, we
- 48:57Speaker 1: can't be doing that.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Yeah, And it almost felt like he was just being
- 49:02Speaker 3: Eddie Murphy right there and was really just I caught
- 49:05Speaker 3: that on camera, so so good. And the last one
- 49:08Speaker 3: that I had written down was when Billy and acts
- 49:11Speaker 3: are about to drive the truck into the mansion and
- 49:13Speaker 3: Billy just says Taggart.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Skinna, yeah, yeah, I love that. That's so good. I
- 49:24Speaker 1: love at the end when his daughter's like, you know,
- 49:27Speaker 1: you didn't have to get shot for us to hang out, right,
- 49:29Speaker 1: and he's like, well no, but it helped though. That
- 49:33Speaker 1: was a that was a very deadline. I felt like
- 49:35Speaker 1: I liked that, Hey for thirty nine ninety nine, this
- 49:40Speaker 1: suit is off the chain, Jane, Hey, they're rhyme right, Yeah.
- 49:45Speaker 3: I like that, just so great.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Also when he's just like, have you two had intercourse? Yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 1: and he says it one other time too, He's like,
- 49:54Speaker 1: this man has that intercourse with.
- 49:55Speaker 3: My daughter exactly. Yeah.
- 49:58Speaker 1: So just saying it that way, it just really cracked
- 50:01Speaker 1: me up. Uh, hey, you sure you're all paying your
- 50:07Speaker 1: phone bill? Because this ain't working. I need another one.
- 50:09Speaker 1: And he's like, don't look at me like that. It's yap,
- 50:12Speaker 1: not working.
- 50:15Speaker 3: I don't remember where that was.
- 50:17Speaker 1: So he's making the call to Jane and she keeps hanging.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Up on him. Oh sure, arested, Yes, another phone call,
- 50:26Speaker 3: and third time he's like, don't look at me like that.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's so great, so funny. And then for
- 50:34Speaker 1: some reason they're stealing from the hockey players locker room,
- 50:40Speaker 1: which doesn't seem like a good idea, and he's just like,
- 50:42Speaker 1: get my goli pants. He comes in all strong, like,
- 50:47Speaker 1: I don't know you guys never heard about the trade apparently,
- 50:50Speaker 1: just like so stupid. I loved it. I think that
- 50:54Speaker 1: was all the ones I wrote down though.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Yeah, again, it was tough. Usually there's so many to
- 50:59Speaker 3: choose to look at and stuff, but there's run down
- 51:03Speaker 3: I have.
- 51:04Speaker 1: I mean, I'm dating someone, but I found out he's
- 51:06Speaker 1: been secretly taking pictures of my feed and selling them
- 51:09Speaker 1: on the internet. So we're figuring it out, we're.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Figuring it out. It was great. Yeah, it was.
- 51:15Speaker 1: The perfect getaway from this weird line like it was
- 51:18Speaker 1: figuring it out.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that was great, that's so good.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that was my last one.
- 51:27Speaker 3: Well, why don't we go let's go to these sad
- 51:29Speaker 3: moments and let's figure out when you cried hugs boohoo
- 51:34Speaker 3: moments strong men also cry strong man. Also, I thought
- 51:45Speaker 3: maybe two.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I like that.
- 51:47Speaker 3: I like where your head's maybe two. When she says
- 51:51Speaker 3: the parent is always the parent, the child is always
- 51:54Speaker 3: the child. We didn't mess this up. You messed this up.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Good bye. Yeah. Uh, that's a tough scene. I actually
- 52:02Speaker 1: really liked that scene. I thought it was really good. Yep,
- 52:04Speaker 1: and they had good chemistry too, him and his daughter,
- 52:08Speaker 1: Like I liked, the vibe was good. I liked it.
- 52:12Speaker 3: And then pretty much the conclusion to that so he said,
- 52:16Speaker 3: like he apologizes at the end and she says, hey,
- 52:19Speaker 3: you know I'm an adult now too.
- 52:21Speaker 1: So.
- 52:22Speaker 3: You know I can call you or whatever.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:26Speaker 3: So yeah, towards the end that scene.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you nailed that. It was just those two. It
- 52:31Speaker 1: was exactly those two. Good work.
- 52:34Speaker 3: I mean, that's about it for that.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Unless you don't want to see Billy get his like
- 52:43Speaker 1: face smacked in or something, right.
- 52:46Speaker 3: I guess Bill oh Billy.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Also, I realized I put a quote down here that
- 52:56Speaker 1: I do like, it's not from a boohoo, but I
- 53:00Speaker 1: put it in the wrong spot, I guess.
- 53:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 1: But it was like after the Chopper comes down, He's like,
- 53:05Speaker 1: oh that was good. That was real good, way better
- 53:07Speaker 1: than I would have did. Not much better though, way
- 53:09Speaker 1: worse than a real pilot.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Right yeah, yeah, like quickly succession of lines.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so fun the way better than I well, actually no,
- 53:19Speaker 1: it's not much better, not way better.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 1: It felt very Donkey from Shrek to me. Yeah, just
- 53:26Speaker 1: like stream of consciousness. Anyway, what's that worth it? I
- 53:30Speaker 1: don't know, but what will be is the movie Rivia
- 53:33Speaker 1: Trivia On Jeffrey's office wall is a photo of Gilbert R. Hill,
- 53:39Speaker 1: who played Inspector Todd Hill or Or who played Inspector
- 53:43Speaker 1: Todd in the first movie, and he passed away in
- 53:46Speaker 1: twenty sixteen.
- 53:47Speaker 3: So I just thought that was a nice SMA, nice homage.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see. When Joseph Gordon Levitt goes over Axwell's
- 53:57Speaker 1: three other cases in Beverly Hills, he mentions the the
- 54:00Speaker 1: third wasn't his finest hour, which is three. Yeah. I
- 54:05Speaker 1: liked that a lot, and apparently Murphy like despised that
- 54:09Speaker 1: movie a lot, which makes it.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Makes a lot of sense. But he's made some stinkers too.
- 54:15Speaker 1: But also I bet that check was, like, what am
- 54:18Speaker 1: I going to say no, right, yeah, okay, please whatever.
- 54:25Speaker 1: I didn't know this, but one of the two cops
- 54:27Speaker 1: that rests axle Foley like the meter, the the meter
- 54:32Speaker 1: attendance meter made it sound so bad.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Well, that one wasn't me, It wasn't actual.
- 54:36Speaker 1: They were actually cops, that's right. Yeah, because they had
- 54:38Speaker 1: that small Fisher Price car. You're right, you're right, which
- 54:42Speaker 1: was funny. But that's his his daughter, Bria L. Murphy. Yeah,
- 54:46Speaker 1: I saw that, which that was fun. That was kind
- 54:48Speaker 1: of a cool idea.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Yeah, when you go and look at her headshot, you
- 54:52Speaker 3: can definitely see Eddie Murphy there.
- 54:54Speaker 1: I was like, oh, okay, yep, no denying that. Nice.
- 54:58Speaker 5: Uh.
- 54:59Speaker 1: We said the six and a half year hiatus for
- 55:01Speaker 1: Judge Reinhold, which is fun. There wasn't a ton of
- 55:07Speaker 1: stuff for this one.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Oh.
- 55:10Speaker 1: I thought this was fun. When Grant thinks that fully
- 55:12Speaker 1: escaped through the air duct, fully jokes that Grant watches
- 55:16Speaker 1: too many movies, and I just thought that was really
- 55:18Speaker 1: funny because you know, in three he does escape through
- 55:21Speaker 1: an air duct and then obviously there's some die hard
- 55:24Speaker 1: you know, illusions there as well, which is fun.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Ye.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Speaking of Shrek, Axel says layers like an onion, which
- 55:33Speaker 1: was they have an extensive onion conversation in two thousand
- 55:37Speaker 1: and one Shrek, which is fun.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Everybody likes puffs, everybody, everybody.
- 55:43Speaker 1: And also this is the first Beverly Hills coop movie
- 55:45Speaker 1: where the main villain isn't killed by Axwell, so I
- 55:48Speaker 1: thought that was interesting. That's by Joseph Gordon Levitt perhaps
- 55:52Speaker 1: passing the torch. Really, I don't really think that's what's happening.
- 55:56Speaker 3: I think he's just a killer.
- 55:58Speaker 1: This dude just he's a problem. This is what's happening.
- 56:02Speaker 3: He loves to get it done. I will say. Another
- 56:07Speaker 3: thing that was really silly were those just the outfits
- 56:12Speaker 3: that those people were wearing when they try and get
- 56:16Speaker 3: them in traffic. Do you remember like that one dude
- 56:19Speaker 3: had these really fancy cowboy yeah.
- 56:23Speaker 1: The elf ones that likes and the hat and the
- 56:30Speaker 1: they were like the van and then he says up
- 56:33Speaker 1: on the right in Spanish, and I was like, I
- 56:35Speaker 1: understood that.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if you guys know, but I
- 56:38Speaker 3: know some Spanish now.
- 56:40Speaker 1: So I met like nine hundred days on Duo Lingo.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's no big deal, no biggie.
- 56:47Speaker 1: No Biggie.
- 56:48Speaker 3: But yeah, that was that was too much for me.
- 56:51Speaker 1: It's all I have. But yes, that was all I
- 56:55Speaker 1: had for movie trivia.
- 56:56Speaker 3: Actually, the only other thing I saw was that the
- 56:59Speaker 3: sub to idol axel F is based on the eighty
- 57:02Speaker 3: four song of the same name by Harold Faltermeyer, which
- 57:05Speaker 3: had been used as the theme song for the Beverly
- 57:08Speaker 3: Hills cop films. Do you think that's kind of fun?
- 57:11Speaker 1: Has made a ton of money from that?
- 57:13Speaker 3: I mean, probably for sure, because I think it's those
- 57:18Speaker 3: four movies.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Alone stuff, which is silly.
- 57:21Speaker 3: That is silly, did it really?
- 57:22Speaker 1: I thought I read that somewhere, but I can't confirm.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Yeah, the fact that there isn't any words or anything,
- 57:29Speaker 3: but yeah, that's crazy. It's a bop though, dude, it
- 57:32Speaker 3: is indeed a bop at least an earworm at the
- 57:37Speaker 3: very least. Yes, yes, Well, what do you think Judgment Day?
- 57:40Speaker 3: Will there be a sequel?
- 57:43Speaker 1: I don't see why not.
- 57:45Speaker 3: I mean this, this seemed to do pretty well.
- 57:48Speaker 1: People liked it, like, and it's a I think also right, Like,
- 57:53Speaker 1: maybe it's not critically acclaimed, but Netflix doesn't need that,
- 57:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like, yeah, if people had
- 58:00Speaker 1: fun watching it, and everyone I've talked to has had
- 58:02Speaker 1: But obviously there's some bias there because they're all approximately our.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Age and you know that.
- 58:08Speaker 1: But I thought it was fun. I would watch more,
- 58:11Speaker 1: that's for sure.
- 58:11Speaker 3: I did see that he was asked about it, and
- 58:14Speaker 3: he's like, this one was tough, Like I'm definitely sixty.
- 58:19Speaker 1: He definitely said, like I'm getting too old for this.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah for sure. So maybe not as extensive. Maybe
- 58:29Speaker 3: he could be more of.
- 58:30Speaker 1: A yeah, maybe he stand the captain or something now
- 58:35Speaker 1: right well, you know, or yeah, he really needs his
- 58:38Speaker 1: rigs is what he needs.
- 58:39Speaker 3: That, that's what he needs, whipper. But it could be Joseph.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Gordon Levitt, you know, like he could do that part
- 58:47Speaker 1: of it for sure. And honestly, I mean, even if
- 58:50Speaker 1: these dudes all just went on vacation, I would watch
- 58:53Speaker 1: it because they're funny.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Totally silly. Axel F's.
- 58:59Speaker 1: I love it.
- 59:01Speaker 3: The version that might be the porn version of who.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Whoop see, I would like it. On the record, I'm
- 59:09Speaker 1: still in I like it. That's also what I say.
- 59:12Speaker 3: In my sorry I'm stealing.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Come on, you know, I hate it when you think
- 59:19Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Well, Rob, I want.
- 59:24Speaker 1: To play a game.
- 59:26Speaker 3: I do want to play a game. Did you do
- 59:28Speaker 3: a game?
- 59:29Speaker 1: No?
- 59:29Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 59:30Speaker 1: I wanted to lead us in the second way you did.
- 59:33Speaker 1: You definitely did say more inappropriate.
- 59:36Speaker 3: You're good, So I wrote on Twitter. I remembered, oh
- 59:41Speaker 3: you did good job. About a third of the way
- 59:43Speaker 3: through this pod, I was like, oh, I forgot.
- 59:48Speaker 1: So that's funny. Well you remember it sooner than I did,
- 59:52Speaker 1: That's for sure. I do the blockbuster games. If we
- 59:55Speaker 1: don't get much.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Of first one, well I think I think we can
- 59:58Speaker 3: do this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I had. I was
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: thinking The Last Man Stanton, where we are given an
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: actor's name and we list their filmography for as long
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: as we can.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: It's beautiful.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: I did get some replies. I got about ten replies.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: We got Denzel Washington, which I don't think we've ever done.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: We have Dustin Hoffman. Oh, Aaron Taylor Johnson would be
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: a quick one.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I think I'm not gonna write that one down. I
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: like them, but I don't want to.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Yep, there's Ryan Gosling. Oh do some movies. We got
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: real old Carrie Grant. I can't do that. We have
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Willem Defoe probably a quick game as well, but also
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: these are some old old ones, Tom Hanks, which we've done,
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: and Tim Curry. So honestly, I think it's between Denzel,
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Dustin and Gosling.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I'd go either Denzel or Gosling. I don't know that
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I have a strong should we do Denzel? I don't
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: think we've ever done it, like yourself, Denzil.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Okay, there's a lot though there are I now, he
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: comes up a lot in uh in the movie Grid Game,
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: and so I have a couple that are tough, real
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: deep cuts.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Think I have any that are deep cuts for him.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Okay, well, I'm gonna start it off. I'm going to
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: do the Equalizer, the Equalizer two, the Equalizer three. Boom,
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Now your turn this game?
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I hate it? Uh, Book of the.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Eli Oh, Now see that that would be a cut?
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: I think, yeah, that's a pretty deeper, deeper variety.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I liked that movie a lot. I think we both did.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: We've talked about this before.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Yep, it was a fun one.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Quite a lot.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: That would be a good one for Gary Oldman. I
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: don't think about that one for him or even Yeah,
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: for sure, I have used it for Mela. I'm gonna
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: pick his Oscar role and do a training day.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I love that. I'll do Glory then. Yes, I still
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: haven't seen it. I have it. I'm ready to watch
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: it someday.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: So silly.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. I'm with you. I also,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: if it helps, Rob, I'm disappointed in myself.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Yes it does help, thank you.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Also the title of my porn sorry, go ahead.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Hey we got another Oscar winning performance, not for from him,
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: but from Tom Hanks in Philadelphia.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Oh great one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, tough movie. He's not
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: very nice to that game man. No, which I get
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: is like he comes decorated and it's the whole point. Like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: I'm with you, it's just like whoa. Yep, now it's
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: called is it? I think it's just American gangster.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: That's exactly what it is.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: That's the one, right, Okay? Cool?
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I forgot about that one too, confused.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: With the is it?
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Russell Crowe has one that has he's an American gangster? Oh?
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: What am I thinking of that? Anyway? It doesn't matter America.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Yep. Yeah, that was a solid movie. I've heard Josh
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Brolin talk about that movie and how that is the
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: movie that kind of got his career back on track.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: That's wild.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I suppose though, thank god, because he's so good. He's
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: so good, so good.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Let's do uh, let's do Fences, great one, jeepers.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Nice. Umm, I'll just remember the Titans now, do it?
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's one I know. Uh, I'll do Malcolm X.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Well yeah, oh dang it now, I don't. I think
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: it had a different title because it wasn't just called Macbeth, right,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: that new one that he did just reason.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Or something before Macbeth, the blank of Macbeth.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: But I'll give it to you.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: It's a tragedy, the tragedy.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Did you ever end up watching that? Have
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: we talked about that?
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: I did?
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Okay, maybe you watched it and then I watched it.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: But boy, what it likes stylistically, what a.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: Cool movie it was.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: It was really neat and he's the actors of course everyone. Yeah,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: oh yeah, so that was mine. Thank you for helping me.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Absolutely. Let's say a fun John Grisham one that I
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: liked back in the day called the Pelican Brief.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Damn she said that one. That's a good one. That's
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: a good one. Uh, John Q. I loved John me too,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: And I feel like people kind of like poop on
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: that movie a little bit. I thought it was great,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: me too. I really liked that movie.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Yep, I should watch it again.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I don't think I've seen that since then. I feel like,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you know, sure, yes, but that looked stop it. There's
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: just a qu quit.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: There was a fun submarine movie with him and Gene
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Hackman called Crimson Time.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I never saw Crimson good stuff.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Loved it back in the day. And I think there
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: was a young Vigo in it.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Yes, I do think he is in that one. That's
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: a good show. Now, historically we've not included movies that
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: are not released yet, right historically, Okay, so Gladiator too,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Off the board, Off the board. I forgot about that.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: It looks it's gonna be great. That movie looks really good.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I'm super into it.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Totally gonna see it. Ah.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Then I will choose a Man on Fire. I didn't think,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: I mean brutal.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: That's so good, so good. Oh, I'm going to pick
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: one that I hated. I just thought of, but I
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: was so excited for it. It was that one. It
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: was like in COVID it was him, robniy mallick. Oh
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: it was called The Little Things.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't like that either. Yeah, they were all
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: pretty good. I just was that was one too, where
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: like it's not like you could root for him because
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: he was a crappy dude.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a bummer.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Is it? Is it Roman s Esquire something, a Roman
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: something Esquire something, Yes, I think so.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: I haven't seen it, but I think you're right. I
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: haven't had kind of crazy hair, right though. I think yeah.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: And it's about the sixties and the civil rights movement,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: That just made me think of a different one.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Oh damn it, because I'm scraping the bottom of the
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: barrel from me.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: Here, because this one was during that movement and he
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: was a boxer that was incarcerated and it turned out
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: that he was innocent. Yes, and it's called the Hurricane.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Hurricane either And it was yeah, also, like,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: let's turn a blinker on here. Did you see Have
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: you seen a preview for the Bob Dylan biopic?
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: I haven't interesting, No, Timothy shallow May, Yes I did.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I saw my first trailer for it. It must have
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: been before Romulus, strangely enough, and I was like, okay,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, interesting, he's doing everything.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: We gave Timothy a bit of a nose, but honestly
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: he's pretty good. Maybe he can pull it off.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: I don't know sure.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: I should have been thinking of a movie this whole time.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: I feel like I'm getting low. Is that crazy?
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: You've thought of quite a few that I did not
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: think of?
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Yeah, which does not usually happen. Yeah, how many more
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: do you have left?
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Like? Eight? I ate? I do? I do have eight? Right?
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: What's the point of me even trying?
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I'm going to think of one of them, one of those.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: We're staying here until I do it. Okay, I don't
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: even have a night.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Yeah, though, it's the problem, and there's still so many more,
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: like we're missing alone.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: I know I'm not good at this game?
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Is nice?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Shut up?
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: Wait?
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: He was in Oh, inside Job.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: Inside Man is the one that I just thought it
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: was inside funny. That's weird.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Yep, Inside Man, Sorry, Inside Man.
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: Yep, that was a really good one.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Still.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: I loved that. And that was a Spike Lee movie
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: which didn't seem like a Spike Lee movie. Cool. I'm
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: trying to think of which one of these is the
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: most recognizable.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Something that will spur another idea.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Maybe there was a movie. It was one of Matt
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Damon's first movies, and it was him and Meg Ryan
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: in a movie called Courage under Fire.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Oh I never saw that.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Huh it was a long time ago now nice.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Well Oh oh was he in Oh it was just
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: there and it's gone now crap.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Oh, I don't even know if he's in it.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: But now I can't even think of it. Oh, I
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: might be done, Rob damn, it was I just thinking of.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Me.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Neither really escaped me. I think, go ahead, I'm out.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: I think I'll try to think of that other one
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: if it comes.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: To my bro. There's one crazy one called Deja Vu,
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: which was kind of fun.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I don't know that one.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: Yeah, you can look it up. There's like this like
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: technology where they're able to like go back in time
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: for a little bit and like help solve a crime
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: kind of a thing. Okay, A really old one that
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: looks old and was weird called Virtuosity, and it was
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: him and Russell Crowe way back in the day.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I remember I've seen that poster. I feel
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: like or something.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Uh. There's one called Devil in a Blue Dress that
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: I never saw back in the day.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: I was gonna say that, and I was like, I
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: can't remember if he was in that for sure or not.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I know Chia was, is what my brain said. Sure
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: in a blue dress. Yeah.
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: There was one called Unstoppable with him and Chris Pine
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: on the train.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: There was he Got Game, the Basketball one with Ray Allen.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, I still haven't seen that for some reason.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: There was The Great Debaters, which I never saw. There
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: was the Bone Collector him and Angelina Joe Lee. No,
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: that was Margan Freeman. Yeah, because that was the same guy.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: The same character was along, came a spider and kissed
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: the girls.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: I think was the same.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: They're all the same active, but I don't think the
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Bone Collector is. That's a different OK. Gotcha anyway. And
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: then the last one very much the same. I mean,
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: it's a detective trying to figure something. The last one
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: I thought of was him and I think it was
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: Ryan Reynolds called safe House.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: And I think Brendan Gleeson was like bad guy.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: He was also in the Taking of Pelham one, two, three,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: another two that I thought of what you said, and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: I was like, oh right, ye seven missed.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: That was flight.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: That's a big one.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: Flight.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I haven't actually seen flight, but it's yeah, it's it's
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: worth it. Yeah, American caser Man. We've said a lot
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: of these Manchurian candidate which I never saw. That was okay,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: out of time and Twine Fisher.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Oh two guns him and uh Wahlberg, Oh yeah, good call.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: Forgot about that one the Siege.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: I don't know if you said that one or not.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Fallen I did not.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Oh he was in the Preacher's Wife. I guess I
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: remember that.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Oh Fallen, dude is it was him and John Goodman.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: I bring that one up every once in a while,
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: and it was so crazy. It was like there was
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: this spirit of this like guy who was on death row.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: He was horrible and he can like go from person You.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Have said that one during a draft or something.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: That loved it back in the day. Interesting, Yeah, it
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: was fun. I forgot about falling.
