- 0:00Speaker 1: Blogged into Everything New York on the Voice of New
- 0:04Speaker 1: York Mark Simon on sevent tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that is good news. The stock market is up.
- 0:15Speaker 2: The economy is booming. Despite what you might read in
- 0:20Speaker 2: the New York Times or any of those places. Stock
- 0:22Speaker 2: market is up. Let's see the Dow up. Yeah s
- 0:29Speaker 2: and p five in an all time record today. Oil
- 0:32Speaker 2: prices are down. One reason the stock market is up
- 0:35Speaker 2: is earnings are phenomenal. Earnings reports coming out left and right.
- 0:38Speaker 2: They're all great, they're excellent. Spending is up, corporate spending,
- 0:44Speaker 2: cap X, all that sort of stuff that's very important.
- 0:47Speaker 2: So it's booming. It's booming. That's great news. So you
- 0:51Speaker 2: will I'm just telling you because you're not going to
- 0:52Speaker 2: hear about this. You won't hear this on the on
- 0:54Speaker 2: the news tonight. You know, it's only when the Dow's
- 0:56Speaker 2: down that's the lead story on the CBS Evening News,
- 0:59Speaker 2: ABC News, the NBC News Dial plunges. That's if it's up.
- 1:04Speaker 2: No mention, no mention of it anywhere. So they just
- 1:08Speaker 2: announced the Tonio nominations. Tony nominations for the season just
- 1:14Speaker 2: came out a second ago, seventy ninth annual Tony Awards.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It'll air live on CBS from Radio City on Sunday,
- 1:21Speaker 2: June seventh. It will stream on Paramount Plus and they'll
- 1:26Speaker 2: be hosted by Pink. Nominees for Best New Musical, The
- 1:32Speaker 2: Lost Boys? What is this one? S Schmiger Dooney? Do
- 1:39Speaker 2: you know what that is? Never heard of this? I
- 1:41Speaker 2: never heard of any of these Titanic two Strangers. I
- 1:47Speaker 2: never heard of one of those. Best New Play The
- 1:52Speaker 2: Blisters Giant Liberation, Little Bear Ridge wrote, I've never heard
- 1:57Speaker 2: of any of these things. Best Revived a play, The
- 2:02Speaker 2: Death of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. This revival
- 2:05Speaker 2: Nathan Lane and others is getting rave reviews. Best Revival
- 2:11Speaker 2: of a Musical Cats has been nominated Ragtime, Rocky Horror
- 2:14Speaker 2: Show got nominated. That's interesting looking through these nominations and
- 2:20Speaker 2: nothing that interesting. Yeah, Last Boys, The Lost Boys? What
- 2:26Speaker 2: the hell's the Lost Boys? I don't even know what
- 2:28Speaker 2: it is, but it's got a lot of a lot
- 2:30Speaker 2: of nominations all over the place. So hey, tonight the
- 2:34Speaker 2: Rose Garden Club opens. That's the Rose Garden at the
- 2:38Speaker 2: White House. The President. It was just grass, you know,
- 2:42Speaker 2: And for years they do a ceremony. In the rose garden,
- 2:44Speaker 2: it's grass, and then you know, three hundred people would
- 2:47Speaker 2: trample on the grass and it was a mess afterwards,
- 2:50Speaker 2: or they'd want to do something in the rose garden.
- 2:51Speaker 2: It had rained the day before, so it was muddy
- 2:54Speaker 2: and the ground was a mess. So President Trump, if
- 2:59Speaker 2: you read the fake, he paved over the rose garden.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And he didn't pave over it. He brought in the
- 3:04Speaker 2: finest marble granite, and he built a beautiful patio. So
- 3:09Speaker 2: instead of just grass, it's a beautiful patio. It's absolutely stunning,
- 3:14Speaker 2: every detail of it. And you know, if you do
- 3:18Speaker 2: this really well, it means he's a great builder. If
- 3:20Speaker 2: you really know what you're doing, if you're not the
- 3:22Speaker 2: government and you're actually a great builder. You put in
- 3:25Speaker 2: a lot of drains all over the place, so that way,
- 3:27Speaker 2: no matter how hard it rains, it's clean. And if
- 3:31Speaker 2: you look at the drains, there's these beautiful white drains
- 3:34Speaker 2: that match the granite. But if you don't look at him,
- 3:37Speaker 2: you know has all the slats in him. The slats
- 3:39Speaker 2: are all the whole thing is. The drain is in
- 3:41Speaker 2: the shape of an American flag. You don't notice something
- 3:43Speaker 2: you get up close and really look at him. But
- 3:46Speaker 2: every little detail is perfect. And then they have these
- 3:48Speaker 2: great chairs and tables, really elegant looking, beautiful umbrellas, beautiful lights,
- 3:53Speaker 2: and they turned it into probably the most beautiful outdoor
- 3:57Speaker 2: cafe in America. They can put a lot of people
- 4:00Speaker 2: in there. So President Trump, when he does the State dinner,
- 4:05Speaker 2: you can do in the East Room, but we are
- 4:06Speaker 2: doing something a little more informal. He does these outside
- 4:10Speaker 2: dinators dinners with members of Congress and all sorts of
- 4:13Speaker 2: So the first one is tonight. It's going to be
- 4:15Speaker 2: a nice, warm night in DC, so it'll be the
- 4:19Speaker 2: first Rose Garden Club dinner tonight. Check out the pictures
- 4:22Speaker 2: of it. You'll be very impressed with how it looks.
- 4:25Speaker 2: It's really really nice. You remember talking about crazy Chuck Schumer.
- 4:30Speaker 2: This guy will say anything. He has no beliefs in anything,
- 4:34Speaker 2: no principles, nothing. It just takes care of his donors
- 4:37Speaker 2: all day. But on the weekend he'll do his fake
- 4:40Speaker 2: press conference. Somebody will type up some issue. He'll read
- 4:42Speaker 2: it and you can see never even pre read it.
- 4:45Speaker 2: He doesn't even know it. You can see him turning
- 4:47Speaker 2: the page with the big, big glasses on trying to
- 4:51Speaker 2: read this thing. So this one everybody thought was the
- 4:55Speaker 2: most hypocritical nonsense. Some people in government are betting on
- 4:59Speaker 2: the polymarket making a profit. He wants to put a
- 5:01Speaker 2: stop to it.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Now, the people who write our laws are nation secrets
- 5:05Speaker 3: and command our military should not be able to use
- 5:09Speaker 3: the prediction markets to wager on the outcomes of their
- 5:12Speaker 3: own work. Prediction markets have exploded over the last few years,
- 5:18Speaker 3: and we must never allow Congress to turn into a casino.
- 5:22Speaker 2: No, he read this and as soon as he finished,
- 5:24Speaker 2: he ran like a thief. He just ran the hell
- 5:27Speaker 2: out of there, because every reporter the same question. Well,
- 5:30Speaker 2: then what about the insider trading you talk about making
- 5:33Speaker 2: a profit off their work, off what they know. You
- 5:37Speaker 2: can't bet on a poly market, but you're allowed to
- 5:39Speaker 2: insider trade on the stock market. Well, Schumer just ran
- 5:42Speaker 2: and hid, and it's the most hypocritical thing in the world.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I'm not disagreeing with it on this, but then ban
- 5:49Speaker 2: insider trading. As long as you're serving in Congress. You're
- 5:52Speaker 2: not allowed to buy and sell stocks with inside information
- 5:55Speaker 2: based on your work. It's the same exact thing. It's
- 5:58Speaker 2: the poly market. The only difference at the docks is
- 6:00Speaker 2: you can make a lot more money. That's how people
- 6:03Speaker 2: on a government salary like Pelosi end up leaving worth
- 6:06Speaker 2: seven hundred million. You know some of these senators that
- 6:10Speaker 2: they're making one hundred and fifty thousand a year. Next thing,
- 6:12Speaker 2: you know, they're worth forty million, one hundred million, all
- 6:15Speaker 2: from the insider trading. But Schumer refuses to answer that question.
- 6:19Speaker 2: He's in hiding. You will not see him until people
- 6:22Speaker 2: forget about that question. So crazy mom, Donnie is protesting,
- 6:28Speaker 2: he's against ICE, he doesn't want to help ICE. Hockel
- 6:33Speaker 2: is going along with him. It's absolutely crazy.
- 6:35Speaker 1: We are going to continue to actively examine what our
- 6:39Speaker 1: response protocols are when ICE is present, to ensure that
- 6:42Speaker 1: we're handling the situations appropriately and we're doing so in
- 6:45Speaker 1: a manner that's consistent with our local laws and our
- 6:47Speaker 1: values as a city.
- 6:48Speaker 2: His values is don't help ICE. His values is have
- 6:51Speaker 2: the illegals run all over the place.
- 6:53Speaker 1: As I've made very clear that our laws leave nothing
- 6:58Speaker 1: no room for interpretation about the fact that our NYPD
- 7:01Speaker 1: will not participate in civil immigration enforcement. And I've also
- 7:05Speaker 1: been very clear about my views on ICE raids as
- 7:08Speaker 1: a whole. I think that they are cruel. I think
- 7:10Speaker 1: that they are inhumane. I think that they do not
- 7:12Speaker 1: serve any interest of public safety.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Well, of course they do, because most of the ice
- 7:18Speaker 2: rads are criminals, gang members, criminals that they're trying to apprehend.
- 7:22Speaker 2: They're here illegally. They're trying to get them out. They've
- 7:24Speaker 2: broken the law just coming here, and then they've broken
- 7:26Speaker 2: the law all over the place here in some cases killing, robbing, raping. Obviously,
- 7:31Speaker 2: you want to get him out here, but not crazy mom,
- 7:33Speaker 2: Donnie so Hey, they asked him about Giuliani. Now, if
- 7:36Speaker 2: you are the mayor of New York, when it comes
- 7:40Speaker 2: to the greatest mayor of New York ever had, by far,
- 7:43Speaker 2: I mean the greatest mayor ever in New York, when
- 7:47Speaker 2: you want to talk to him, when you have questions
- 7:49Speaker 2: for him, when you want to get some guidance from him.
- 7:52Speaker 2: If you became a New York Yankee and they're in
- 7:55Speaker 2: the clubhouse or in the owner's suite, watch there was
- 8:00Speaker 2: Joe Demago or Mickey Mantle or any of those crazy,
- 8:03Speaker 2: wouldn't you want to go ask them things, talk to them. Nope.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Not if your mom, Donnie, you can't stand them. You know,
- 8:11Speaker 2: Eric Adams used to call up Bloomberg all the time
- 8:15Speaker 2: to ask him questions, and anybody with half of brains,
- 8:18Speaker 2: the first thing you would do. You become the mayor,
- 8:21Speaker 2: and you call the greatest mayors ever and you'd ask
- 8:24Speaker 2: them questions. You know, it comes to crime. You came
- 8:26Speaker 2: the mayor of New York. When you call Ray Kelly,
- 8:29Speaker 2: he's a nice guy. He'll help you out. When you say,
- 8:31Speaker 2: could we have lunch? Could I talk to you? Could
- 8:33Speaker 2: I come see you? I'd like to ask you think.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I mean, the guy's the greatest expert in the world
- 8:38Speaker 2: on how to fight crime in New York, how to
- 8:39Speaker 2: be the police commission. When you ask him some stuff,
- 8:42Speaker 2: it's only logical. So the reporters did ask Mom Donnie
- 8:46Speaker 2: about Rudy Giuliani. He's better today. He's still not out
- 8:49Speaker 2: of the woods, but he's turned a corner. He had
- 8:52Speaker 2: been in a coma on a ventilator. A priest had
- 8:55Speaker 2: given him his last rites. He's out of the coma yesterday.
- 8:59Speaker 2: He's now off the vent till later. It's looking better.
- 9:02Speaker 2: But yesterday the reporter asked him about de Rudy Giuliani.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I think he'd like to say about his contribution to
- 9:08Speaker 1: the city, of the fact that he got the city
- 9:10Speaker 1: through nine to eleven. Well, I think former Mayor Giuliani
- 9:14Speaker 1: is someone that we as New Yorkers know well and
- 9:18Speaker 1: he's been a fixture in our cities politics and public
- 9:21Speaker 1: life for so many years. And I know that many
- 9:24Speaker 1: New Yorkers are concerned by the reports that he's in
- 9:26Speaker 1: critical condition.
- 9:29Speaker 2: He can't say, yeah, he was the greatest mayor ever
- 9:31Speaker 2: in New York. Yeah he did clean up crime. Yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 2: he was an unbelievable hero in nine to eleven. Yeah
- 9:36Speaker 2: he did help the city come back from He can't
- 9:39Speaker 2: say it. He can't. Did you hear that answer? Well,
- 9:42Speaker 2: we know him well, he is a fixture. Can't say
- 9:47Speaker 2: anything good about him. This crazy mom Donnie who does
- 9:51Speaker 2: not follow the science. And that's one thing about Democrats.
- 9:54Speaker 2: They do not follow the science for crime fighting. There's
- 9:58Speaker 2: an actual science. There's things that we know work, things
- 10:00Speaker 2: that we know don't work, and we've scientifically tested them.
- 10:04Speaker 2: We've tested them thousands of times in hundreds of cities,
- 10:07Speaker 2: and we know what works and one doesn't work. But
- 10:09Speaker 2: Mom Donnie doesn't follow that. Now, speaking of crime, you
- 10:13Speaker 2: get these crazy left wing das and you got these
- 10:17Speaker 2: crazy left wing judges. You had one yesterday actually apologized
- 10:23Speaker 2: to the presidential assassin Cole Allen, the White House Correspondents
- 10:27Speaker 2: dinner shooter. Apparently in jail, they put him in solitary
- 10:31Speaker 2: and at one point they put him on suicide watch.
- 10:36Speaker 2: The jail said, well, if you read his manifesto, he
- 10:38Speaker 2: says something about you know, this is it, It's over
- 10:41Speaker 2: for me. It sounded like a suicide note, so they
- 10:45Speaker 2: put him on suicide watch. Well, he was back in
- 10:48Speaker 2: court yesterday and this crazy left wing judge. US magistrate
- 10:52Speaker 2: Judge Zia M. Farque told Cole Allan she actually apologized
- 10:59Speaker 2: to him. She said, I'm so sorry about the way
- 11:02Speaker 2: you've retreated. There was no reason for you to be
- 11:05Speaker 2: put in solitary. I'm sorry. The conditions were harsh in
- 11:09Speaker 2: the jail. It's jail. It's supposed to be harsh. What's
- 11:13Speaker 2: more harsh than the jail. But Tony Towns, he's a
- 11:18Speaker 2: lawyer for the DC lockup, said they did ongoing psych
- 11:22Speaker 2: exams and they made the decision that the medical staff
- 11:25Speaker 2: to put him on suicide watch. But the judge apologized
- 11:29Speaker 2: to him. His lawyer said one time he was put
- 11:33Speaker 2: in a padded cell what amounted to twenty four hour lockdown.
- 11:38Speaker 2: It's jail. Yeah, so the judge kept apologizing and apologizing.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Why he said he wasn't even allowed to have a bible.
- 11:47Speaker 2: The judge said, it just doesn't add up. As he noticed,
- 11:51Speaker 2: he noted people convicted of more serious crimes were held
- 11:54Speaker 2: in less restrictive conditions. What's more serious than trying to
- 11:57Speaker 2: assassinate the president of the United States? What's more serious
- 12:01Speaker 2: than trying to open fire on a ballroom filled with
- 12:04Speaker 2: cabinet officials. So again, crazy left wing judges everywhere. Stephen Colbert,
- 12:11Speaker 2: the show is going off the air finally is it
- 12:14Speaker 2: later this month? He's planning, apparently some sort of emotional Farewell.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Now the question is when he goes, what's gonna come on? Well,
- 12:26Speaker 2: they're gonna do a game show with Byron Allen. It's
- 12:29Speaker 2: a pretty good game show, but it's really just a
- 12:31Speaker 2: copy of Hollywood Squares, And then they're gonna do a
- 12:34Speaker 2: copy of Gutfeld. It's going to be a bunch of
- 12:36Speaker 2: comedians roundtable. But according to Byron Allen, they will not
- 12:40Speaker 2: talk about the news. They'll just talk about other topics,
- 12:43Speaker 2: which is smart because then it won't get outdated. It'll
- 12:46Speaker 2: always be usable. You could rerun this stuff forever. Now,
- 12:50Speaker 2: what happens to the ed Sullivan Theater. This stuff is
- 12:52Speaker 2: all being done in California, So you're gonna have a
- 12:55Speaker 2: big empty Ed Sullivan Theater that CBS bought years ago
- 12:59Speaker 2: and spent a fortune and renovating for David Letterman. But
- 13:02Speaker 2: what happens to it? Well, the Ed Sullivan Theater experts
- 13:05Speaker 2: say if you just put it on the market, it
- 13:07Speaker 2: could fetch up to ninety million dollars. It's possible you
- 13:13Speaker 2: could restore it to a Broadway theater because originally it
- 13:16Speaker 2: was a fifteen hundred seat Broadway theater and could be
- 13:20Speaker 2: put back that way, but be a costly renovation to
- 13:24Speaker 2: restore all that paramount's. CBS well, they could use it
- 13:30Speaker 2: for live theatrical productions if they want to produce shows there,
- 13:34Speaker 2: but they're doing less and less stuff, so I doubt
- 13:36Speaker 2: they're going to do anything with it. James Dolan. The
- 13:39Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden has apparently shown some interest in buying
- 13:43Speaker 2: the theater turning it into a venue. But if you
- 13:47Speaker 2: want to turn it back to a Broadway theater. Just
- 13:49Speaker 2: make it a legitimate Old Broadway theater. Apparently, the Neederlanders,
- 13:53Speaker 2: the Schubert Organization, and others have shown some interest, so
- 13:57Speaker 2: expect one of those things to to happen. Hey, Ron
- 14:03Speaker 2: DeSantis is indicating making moves like he wants to be
- 14:08Speaker 2: a presidential candidate in twenty twenty eight. Now, obviously, you
- 14:13Speaker 2: know he's run for president before. He's been a great,
- 14:17Speaker 2: a phenomenal governor of Florida. He's been the best governor
- 14:21Speaker 2: in America. He's outstanding as a governor. He stinks as
- 14:25Speaker 2: a presidential candidate. He all has. He has another problem.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It's a big problem behind the scenes. He's the nastiest
- 14:31Speaker 2: guy in the world, and it's just nasty to anybody
- 14:34Speaker 2: and everybody, everybody in the RNC, everybody in Trump world,
- 14:39Speaker 2: anybody who runs into He's just privately nasty to everybody.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I don't know why it is. I have no idea
- 14:45Speaker 2: why he does it. Nobody's been able to talk to
- 14:49Speaker 2: him about it. It's a big, big problem for him
- 14:52Speaker 2: behind the scenes. That's one problem. The other problem is
- 14:55Speaker 2: just as a candidate, he's not much of a personality.
- 14:58Speaker 2: He's kind of a cold fish. As a speak baker
- 15:01Speaker 2: as a guest on a show. He has kind of
- 15:04Speaker 2: a weird voice, and where's those crazy cowboy boots? And
- 15:09Speaker 2: so that's the problem. And again he's been so nasty.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Even his own donors, even his big donors, he's nasty
- 15:16Speaker 2: to them. I mean, they tell stories about how they
- 15:19Speaker 2: know they write him a massive check and then they
- 15:21Speaker 2: can't get him on the phone. He runs into him,
- 15:24Speaker 2: he won't say hello. He's just I don't know why
- 15:26Speaker 2: he does it. But that's a big problem. He's leaving
- 15:29Speaker 2: his Florida governor. Term limits have ended his governorship. So
- 15:34Speaker 2: he's been lobbying and had people lobbying behind the scenes
- 15:38Speaker 2: to get him a cabinet post with the Trump administration.
- 15:41Speaker 2: But but nobody wants him in the cabinet because he's
- 15:46Speaker 2: so difficult to work with him. He's so nasty. He's
- 15:49Speaker 2: a great governor, but I don't think he's a good
- 15:51Speaker 2: employee on a team. And Trump wants to do something
- 15:56Speaker 2: for him. He's been very helpful to Trump with the
- 16:00Speaker 2: stuff in Miami, with the renaming stuff after him the airport.
- 16:03Speaker 2: He's been very helpful with helping with the Trump Library
- 16:06Speaker 2: going to Miami. But so Trump would find him something.
- 16:10Speaker 2: It wouldn't be in the cabinet, but he'll find him something.
- 16:13Speaker 2: They have these jobs where they can throw people that
- 16:15Speaker 2: mean absolutely nothing. Un Ambassador is one of them. They
- 16:20Speaker 2: just get if they know you're a problem and they
- 16:23Speaker 2: don't want you around. Like Carrie Lake, who's not as
- 16:26Speaker 2: not quite as bad as Desanta's, but she's pretty rough
- 16:29Speaker 2: and nobody wants her around behind the scenes. She's pretty rough,
- 16:32Speaker 2: so they stuck her at Voice of America, which doesn't
- 16:35Speaker 2: mean anything to them anyway. We'll take some calls next.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
