- 0:00Speaker 1: We'll have to wait because Chris Daley has joined us
- 0:02Speaker 1: for the Daily Recap, presented by new Face Home Improvements.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Your home is like our home, U F A c
- 0:06Speaker 1: e CT dot com. That was impressive today. I mean
- 0:11Speaker 1: everybody contributed. That was fun to watch when you guys
- 0:14Speaker 1: play at that level.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Thank you, it was. It was fun. Started early. I
- 0:17Speaker 2: thought our defense at the tone, and certainly KK had
- 0:20Speaker 2: herself a game that's an understatement, but you know, but
- 0:25Speaker 2: and she started it on the defensive end. I mean,
- 0:27Speaker 2: I think the first play of the game was a
- 0:30Speaker 2: steal or something. But and she shot the ball well,
- 0:32Speaker 2: so I think it's going in if you're creating and
- 0:36Speaker 2: you feel like you know what you're gonna have to
- 0:38Speaker 2: worry about with Sarah and Forrazy and then kind of
- 0:42Speaker 2: like yesterday, Sarah Williams had a game that started out
- 0:46Speaker 2: it it throws, it throws just another wrench into it,
- 0:49Speaker 2: like what are we going to do now? You know,
- 0:51Speaker 2: with KK playing as well and shooting the ball with
- 0:53Speaker 2: as much confidence, and so it's exciting.
- 0:56Speaker 3: And you talk about teams. You know you're playing in
- 0:59Speaker 3: the third time, so you think they know what's coming.
- 1:02Speaker 3: They have that adjustment they have a game plan. It
- 1:04Speaker 3: didn't matter. Your kids probably followed your game plan to
- 1:08Speaker 3: a t and just the energy level that they brought
- 1:10Speaker 3: just sent a message right away.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think in the past they've and I
- 1:15Speaker 2: think they did the same thing when we are at
- 1:16Speaker 2: their place. They left KK open and so that's that's
- 1:20Speaker 2: really been the theme for the whole year with people
- 1:22Speaker 2: just playing offer and if she can continue to knock
- 1:26Speaker 2: in those shots consistently and shoot it with the confidence
- 1:28Speaker 2: and at the time that it needs to be taken,
- 1:30Speaker 2: I think that just adds to our offensive end the
- 1:33Speaker 2: offensive game.
- 1:34Speaker 4: You're a second point guard there.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Miss Heckel had herself and I second half nearly a
- 1:39Speaker 1: triple double type today. But she has like everybody, it's
- 1:43Speaker 1: March now, everybody's seemingly turned up their game just a notch.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Well, we talk a lot about that that when it's March,
- 1:51Speaker 2: there's a different Yukon team, and there has to be
- 1:53Speaker 2: if you want to do the things that you want
- 1:56Speaker 2: to do in terms of winning championships or putting yourself
- 1:58Speaker 2: in a position to do that. And so the first
- 2:00Speaker 2: thing starts with the big Eiast tournament, and you know,
- 2:03Speaker 2: we needed to come in and set the tone we
- 2:06Speaker 2: wanted to set it starting yesterday and then today and
- 2:09Speaker 2: build on that and have a chance to playing the
- 2:10Speaker 2: championship game, which now we do.
- 2:13Speaker 3: And what is the I don't know if it's an answer.
- 2:16Speaker 3: What's the key and that you know the secret that
- 2:18Speaker 3: you always have your team ready to go and to
- 2:21Speaker 3: play at that high energy level.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Well, today, I actually I was somewhat impressive because losing
- 2:27Speaker 2: the hour doesn't do a lot of maybe it's just
- 2:30Speaker 2: people of a certain age, it doesn't do them well.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But you know, I thought today it was a big
- 2:35Speaker 2: thing from a mental standpoint, just to be able to
- 2:38Speaker 2: play the game, lose an hour and still be ready
- 2:40Speaker 2: to play. But I think one thing is we don't
- 2:43Speaker 2: treat every game. We try to minimize our mistakes and
- 2:47Speaker 2: get better so that when it comes to this point,
- 2:49Speaker 2: we can really minimize them and play at a high level.
- 2:52Speaker 2: So I hopefully it's our approach throughout the year, because
- 2:55Speaker 2: I don't think you can change just because March first
- 2:57Speaker 2: comes around. I think you have to be building toward
- 2:59Speaker 2: that and your approach has to be similar throughout the
- 3:02Speaker 2: whole year. And I think now we're just at that
- 3:04Speaker 2: place where everything that all the work that we put
- 3:07Speaker 2: in and all the work they continue to put in,
- 3:10Speaker 2: now we're seeing the benefits from her.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Chris, you've been able to do this all year. Feast
- 3:13Speaker 1: off turnovers, thirty three more points today. But when Jim
- 3:16Speaker 1: Flattery and Creighton stuff again, see fourteen made threes for
- 3:19Speaker 1: a second straight game against them, that's got to be demoralizing.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Again, you have to pick your poison and figure
- 3:29Speaker 2: out you want to try to handle our pressure and
- 3:31Speaker 2: how are you going to do that? And then you
- 3:32Speaker 2: want to make your threes. Last time we played them,
- 3:34Speaker 2: they made ten threes. This time they made nine, and
- 3:36Speaker 2: a bunch of them were in the fourth quarter, clearly
- 3:39Speaker 2: when the game was in control. So I thought we
- 3:42Speaker 2: did a pretty good job on that front. But it's
- 3:47Speaker 2: I don't know if we're going to make fourteen every game,
- 3:49Speaker 2: but if we do, I think we have a pretty
- 3:52Speaker 2: good shot at winning the game. How about the I'll
- 3:56Speaker 2: go out on the limb, you know, I don't want
- 3:58Speaker 2: to do the coaches speak. I'll go out on the
- 3:59Speaker 2: limb and say if we make fourteen. You know, we
- 4:02Speaker 2: didn't turn the ball over and that was good, and
- 4:05Speaker 2: I think we had three offensive fouls. Look at their
- 4:07Speaker 2: offensive rebounds. How about that? Yeah, offensive rebounds.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Oh wow, seventeen offensive rebounds today.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Well that was one of the challenges coach put to
- 4:16Speaker 2: them this morning at shoot around, just to have you know,
- 4:19Speaker 2: three people hit the offensive glass on every possession and
- 4:24Speaker 2: to really because when we're not making fourteen threes and
- 4:27Speaker 2: we're not shooting fifty seven percent or sixty three percent
- 4:30Speaker 2: from the three point line, the only way we get
- 4:32Speaker 2: second opportunity is if we do offensive offensive rebound the ball.
- 4:35Speaker 2: So it's something going into March and into you know,
- 4:38Speaker 2: the championship game and into the NCAA tournament that we
- 4:41Speaker 2: need to be to improve on.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Well, you're up to a good start there, forty one
- 4:46Speaker 1: second chance points in the first two games, twenty one
- 4:48Speaker 1: yesterday twenty today. So that's a good way to start it,
- 4:51Speaker 1: all right, get your needed rests. You do have an
- 4:55Speaker 1: extra hour from yesterday to get prepared for tomorrow.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Well, which one's your scout?
- 4:59Speaker 2: By the way, Ileanov is mine and.
- 5:01Speaker 1: They're gonna be past you. Five boy. Bosco played well yesterday.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Huh yeah, we we'd like to see them again. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 2: that's all I said. We'd like to see them again.
- 5:12Speaker 2: All right, that would be uh, that would be good
- 5:14Speaker 2: for us.
- 5:15Speaker 4: It would be no from a guest.
- 5:16Speaker 2: But hey, if Seaton Hall plays well and I saw
- 5:19Speaker 2: there's some upsets, you know that. I think I saw
- 5:22Speaker 2: South Carolina was down by twenty at one point.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Nineteen Texas raced out fourteen nothing they've never tried.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Oh wow, well and then so.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Fifty fourth they cut it.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, Well, it's part of March madness. Right. Things
- 5:37Speaker 2: can happen, and that's why you don't take things for granted.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And that's why you have to have the energy level
- 5:41Speaker 2: that you need to to play and to win. So
- 5:44Speaker 2: that'll be fun fun tomorrow either way.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Duke's won today in overtime UCLA one big Fairfield is
- 5:50Speaker 1: leading in the fourth.
- 5:51Speaker 4: So they're going to get to the MAC final.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Are they playing Quinipia.
- 5:54Speaker 4: They're playing Merrimac today.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Right, No, but in the fine if they win the
- 5:58Speaker 2: Bear Mack.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Win, I don't know that. I don't know.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Come on, get with it.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Well, they're ranks. You'm in the ranked.
- 6:03Speaker 2: We'll get to the ones that aren't ranked.
- 6:05Speaker 4: She wants to on my phone.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I got all right, press like all of them.
- 6:08Speaker 4: All right, Andrew. I'm going to come now.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You know exactly what the Coach Daily. Come on, let's
- 6:12Speaker 2: go demanding.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Quinnipiac want it overtime sixty three sixty two.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Okay, that's all you need see see it works. You
- 6:18Speaker 2: can get other information. It's not just about the top
- 6:21Speaker 2: twenty five. Get with it. Wow, I like this Coach Daily. Hey, hey,
- 6:28Speaker 2: I'm just I'm trying to help you out with your
- 6:31Speaker 2: you know, being able to use your phone from multiple
- 6:33Speaker 2: them things.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Oh, I use it.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I use it a lot for multiple things. How do
- 6:36Speaker 1: you think your interviews with Debbie make it on the air?
- 6:38Speaker 1: This little back right here.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I like it. All right, I have.
- 6:41Speaker 4: To bring I bring the tools. I got it. We'll
- 6:43Speaker 4: say tomorrow.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Thank you, all right, Chris Chris Daley who. This is
