- 0:00Speaker 1: Now for days away from the start of the season,
- 0:05Speaker 1: is this the season that you've been most excited for
- 0:08Speaker 1: or you've seen the most hype for the team.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I think it's the most excited I've been for season
- 0:11Speaker 2: since nineteen ninety nine.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I think definitely the most hype and uh, the
- 0:16Speaker 3: outlook for this team is better than Spanson's ninety nine.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Welcome into Jags Am presented by Jet Home Loans. I'm
- 0:41Speaker 1: Kinnannie Stevens, Brian Sexton, John Osier here with me as
- 0:44Speaker 1: we get prepared for Week one. We're gonna talk a
- 0:46Speaker 1: little bit about the game plan and what we've got
- 0:48Speaker 1: looking forward to, got to look forward to in week
- 0:51Speaker 1: one because we're finally there. We're finally finally getting there.
- 0:55Speaker 1: What are you looking for in terms of we talked
- 0:56Speaker 1: about how hyped we are for this team, but Brian,
- 0:58Speaker 1: what are you looking at in terms of wanting to
- 1:00Speaker 1: see a Week one Well, I.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Want to see what we saw in the early going
- 1:04Speaker 2: against the Dolphins, which was in offense that could do
- 1:06Speaker 2: whatever it wants, right, I mean, there are multiple running backs,
- 1:09Speaker 2: You've got multiple options in the passing game. Look, let's
- 1:12Speaker 2: face it. Doug Peterson Press Taylor. I mean, these are
- 1:15Speaker 2: guys that are very creative offensively, and I expect to
- 1:18Speaker 2: see a level of offense that we haven't seen here
- 1:20Speaker 2: since ninety nine.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I expect to see that. I feel we had
- 1:25Speaker 3: in the Dolphins game of a team that couldn't wait
- 1:28Speaker 3: to get out of the gate, and that in that game,
- 1:32Speaker 3: I got the feeling that they had practiced for an offseason,
- 1:36Speaker 3: in a preseason and just couldn't wait to show people
- 1:39Speaker 3: how good they were. You hope you see that against
- 1:42Speaker 3: the Dolphins, I mean against the Colts, I'm assuming you're
- 1:45Speaker 3: gonna see an element of that. So I think on
- 1:46Speaker 3: the other side, you want to see a team defensively
- 1:51Speaker 3: that is better than the observers or thinking is a
- 1:54Speaker 3: team that's bringing back eleven guys as far as starters.
- 1:58Speaker 3: So I think you want to see a team on
- 2:00Speaker 3: defense that has a little more energy, a little more
- 2:03Speaker 3: ability to get to the quarterback that may be observers
- 2:05Speaker 3: think if you if you see those two things, then yes,
- 2:08Speaker 3: I'm really excited about the season.
- 2:09Speaker 1: All Right, it's game week. Let's get to our big things.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The big thing Number one this week is gonna be
- 2:14Speaker 1: you think you know you're facing off against a division
- 2:16Speaker 1: opponent in the Indianapolis Cults. But this is not the
- 2:18Speaker 1: Indianapolis Colts that we saw last year. If they got
- 2:20Speaker 1: a new head coach, the offense is gonna be starting
- 2:24Speaker 1: a rookie quarterback. Their defense lost, you know, their best
- 2:26Speaker 1: player in Stefan Gilmore, who's now in Dallas. So, John,
- 2:30Speaker 1: what are we gonna see from this Indianapolis team? How
- 2:33Speaker 1: different is it gonna be with Shane Stiking leading them?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Well, I think you don't know. And that's what makes
- 2:39Speaker 3: Week one so interesting in the NFL. I think you're
- 2:42Speaker 3: gonna see a Colts team that tries to protect the
- 2:45Speaker 3: quarterback a little bit, tries to not put him in
- 2:47Speaker 3: situations where he makes mistakes, and tries to get him
- 2:50Speaker 3: outside the pocket.
- 2:51Speaker 4: They would like to create.
- 2:55Speaker 3: And maybe chaos is the wrong word, but they would
- 2:58Speaker 3: like to create moments where the Jaguars defense is confused
- 3:02Speaker 3: and doesn't know what they're doing with this quarterback. If
- 3:07Speaker 3: there's some indecision on the part of the Jaguars, think
- 3:09Speaker 3: the Colts feel like he can create enough big plays
- 3:11Speaker 3: to keep them in it. So, really, Week one, that's
- 3:15Speaker 3: the big mystery in the NFL. Everywhere you don't know
- 3:17Speaker 3: what you're gonna see. I sure like this better than
- 3:20Speaker 3: if Jonathan Taylor was playing.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Hey look everywhere every year.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I can remember standing on the field at MetLife Stadium
- 3:25Speaker 2: at twenty eighteen before the Jags Giants game and Doug
- 3:28Speaker 2: Marone was kind of bouncy and I said, but just
- 3:31Speaker 2: you know, opening day nerves, and he goes, no, I
- 3:33Speaker 2: really don't know. They've got a coaching change, They've got players,
- 3:36Speaker 2: We've got it. You just don't know an opening day.
- 3:39Speaker 2: It just always feels this way. So it's one of
- 3:42Speaker 2: those things that both teams are gonna deal with it.
- 3:44Speaker 2: It's not an advantage to one or the other. But
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know, when you talk about division rivalries, generally you
- 3:51Speaker 2: feel like you know a little bit more. It's completely different.
- 3:53Speaker 2: This is no longer the past happy Colts of Peyton
- 3:57Speaker 2: Manning and Andrew Luck and what they tried to have
- 3:59Speaker 2: with Philip Rivers and Carson Wentz and most recently Matt Ryan.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I mean, this is a team that wants to beat
- 4:05Speaker 2: up at the line of scrimmage and use the physical
- 4:08Speaker 2: running game, and especially with this quarterback being able to
- 4:11Speaker 2: open things.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Up for the Deep Bowl.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Very good big thing Number two for us today is
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's been a minute. Because John pointed out in our
- 4:18Speaker 1: Reporters podcast and yesterday that the Jaguars have not won
- 4:22Speaker 1: in Indianapolis since twenty seventeen. So, Brian, do you make
- 4:26Speaker 1: something of the fact that, you know, there's a bit
- 4:27Speaker 1: of a bugaboo with them playing in Indianapolis or here
- 4:30Speaker 1: we break.
- 4:30Speaker 2: That it was a tough place to play, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 2: and they have had good players on both sides of
- 4:34Speaker 2: the ball.
- 4:34Speaker 5: They still do have good players.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I mean, their offensive line is some really talented guys,
- 4:38Speaker 2: their defensive line with DeForest Buckner. They got a first
- 4:40Speaker 2: round pick in Quinny pay Shaquille Leonard is a guy
- 4:43Speaker 2: that can make a lot of noise if he's healthy. No,
- 4:45Speaker 2: I mean they play well at home. They've been a
- 4:48Speaker 2: good team. They've not been a great team. The Jaguars
- 4:51Speaker 2: haven't been that good of a team since twenty seventeen
- 4:53Speaker 2: until last year, and they probably should have won last year.
- 4:56Speaker 2: They had the lead there with two minutes to play,
- 4:58Speaker 2: but Jack Griffin became the are getting couldn't hold up
- 5:01Speaker 2: and gave up the game winning touchdown. So I don't
- 5:04Speaker 2: make a lot of it other than the Jaguars haven't
- 5:06Speaker 2: been good enough.
- 5:07Speaker 5: I think that changes this year.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Well, it's been a series where both teams have won
- 5:11Speaker 3: at home five years in a row now, So yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 3: I make a little bit of it. I think I
- 5:17Speaker 3: make more of what Brian just mentioned.
- 5:20Speaker 4: This is a defense.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Gus Bradley is still there as defensive coordinator, meaning this
- 5:25Speaker 3: defense knows how it wants to play.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I don't think the defense will have very much confusion.
- 5:29Speaker 3: That worries you a little bit because you're not going
- 5:32Speaker 3: against new there. You're not going to see very many
- 5:33Speaker 3: communications breakdowns, and there's some talent. I think that's where
- 5:37Speaker 3: the Colts have a chance to sort of stay in
- 5:39Speaker 3: this thing. But in terms of winning up there, when
- 5:42Speaker 3: they went up there in seventeen, the Cults are basically
- 5:44Speaker 3: a broken team.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Andrew Luck was not there.
- 5:46Speaker 5: They shut him out by there twenty eighth.
- 5:48Speaker 3: To uh yeah, that had just sort of happened. So
- 5:51Speaker 3: you sort of hope with a new quarterback with Jonathan
- 5:54Speaker 3: Taylor nut there that they have that broken feeling.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Our last big thing is going to be state of
- 5:59Speaker 1: the line. Because the offensive line was a strong sceon
- 6:02Speaker 1: going into training camp. They had some injuries but the
- 6:03Speaker 1: starters are still mostly intact. But going up against that
- 6:06Speaker 1: cult's defense, which they had trouble with at times, the
- 6:09Speaker 1: Forrest Buckner always a force for them. Brian, what are
- 6:11Speaker 1: you looking at in terms of how they're gonna be
- 6:13Speaker 1: dealing with that?
- 6:13Speaker 5: Well, I mean, Buckner's a game wrecker.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I mean in the middle of the line, he can
- 6:16Speaker 2: get his hands up and bat down balls. He legitimately
- 6:20Speaker 2: he did not play as well last year. He was
- 6:22Speaker 2: dealing with injuries. But he's the kind of guy that
- 6:24Speaker 2: you really worry about, and he makes guys around him
- 6:26Speaker 2: a lot better. Grover Stewart is a very good you know,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I don't know whether there's a nose tackle or a
- 6:31Speaker 2: three technique. However, they decided to play him and Quid.
- 6:33Speaker 2: He pays a former first drop pick who's got speed
- 6:36Speaker 2: and explosiveness. Well, if you're having to double to Forest
- 6:38Speaker 2: Buckner on every play, you're opening up opportunities for their guys.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Again.
- 6:43Speaker 2: To Jaguars line with a rookie starting at right tackle,
- 6:46Speaker 2: Walker Little played well last year when he had a
- 6:48Speaker 2: chance to play left tackle, but you know, you're still
- 6:50Speaker 2: waiting for him to settle in there. I just think
- 6:52Speaker 2: it's the offensive line was a storyline in training camp.
- 6:55Speaker 5: Will it still be on Sunday night?
- 6:57Speaker 4: Yeah, Forest Butner is a force.
- 7:00Speaker 3: What you wonder is Shaquille Leonard remember a couple of
- 7:02Speaker 3: years ago, was as good as any linebacker in the league.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Did not play very much last year. It is dealing
- 7:08Speaker 3: with stuff. If he makes it back, then all of
- 7:12Speaker 3: a sudden, they've got two elite kind of players on defense,
- 7:16Speaker 3: starts turning that defensive unit around. You just kind of
- 7:20Speaker 3: feel right now that an interior player to Forrest Buckner,
- 7:24Speaker 3: this Jaguars team, as good as it is offensively, should
- 7:27Speaker 3: be able to handle that and explode for some points.
- 7:30Speaker 3: It's not that you don't worry about it, but you
- 7:32Speaker 3: assume that the Jaguars have enough to overcome that.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Should be under control. All right, coming up, we're gonna
- 7:37Speaker 1: get to this or that as we look at the
- 7:39Speaker 1: game against Indianapolis coming up on Sunday. Well, here on
- 7:42Speaker 1: Jags Am presented by Fields Auto Group, Jacksonville, Step up
- 7:45Speaker 1: to Luxury field Atto dot com comparison shopping cash back
- 7:57Speaker 1: Coupon's all in one, It's freeze check out price dot
- 8:00Speaker 1: com today and we're coming back with you here on
- 8:03Speaker 1: jags Am, we're gonna be doing our price dot com
- 8:05Speaker 1: this or that. We've got game week this week. So oh,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I love the theme song. All right time, we're gonna
- 8:12Speaker 1: start up with you. What's your this or that this week?
- 8:14Speaker 2: Well, here's it's a margin victory, right, So do you
- 8:17Speaker 2: think that the Jaguars win the ballgame?
- 8:18Speaker 1: And I'm picking them to win, So I'm assuming yes, Okay,
- 8:21Speaker 1: we're going with a way. I got it.
- 8:23Speaker 2: You expect them to win by less than seven points
- 8:25Speaker 2: or by more than fourteen points, and I'll throw it
- 8:28Speaker 2: out there.
- 8:28Speaker 5: I'm going by more than fourteen.
- 8:30Speaker 2: John, because it's a rookie quarterback in his first start,
- 8:32Speaker 2: and just randomly, I went around and looked at first
- 8:35Speaker 2: starts by top five quarterbacks through the history of well
- 8:38Speaker 2: for the last twenty years.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Of rookie quarterbacks, and most of them start off with
- 8:44Speaker 5: at least two interceptions.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So I'm gonna say that the Jaguars win by more
- 8:48Speaker 2: than fourteen points because I expect this offense to be
- 8:50Speaker 2: able to score and I think that the rookie.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Will give the ball up a couple of times.
- 8:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Less than seven, but I believe they're gonna win by ten.
- 9:02Speaker 3: And the reason I think that is I think they're
- 9:04Speaker 3: gonna lead late and then get a pull away touchdown
- 9:07Speaker 3: late because I think they're gonna be leading late and
- 9:09Speaker 3: get a turnover, get something that happens and sort of
- 9:11Speaker 3: makes the score look better.
- 9:13Speaker 4: But for the purposes of your question, my friend, I'll
- 9:15Speaker 4: do lesson.
- 9:17Speaker 5: You think it'd be close all the way and then
- 9:18Speaker 5: at the end, Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be close because I think I
- 9:21Speaker 3: think Richardson will do enough weird stuff to keep them
- 9:25Speaker 3: in it and make the fans angry with me.
- 9:28Speaker 1: They're always angry with you. John, What's or this or that?
- 9:30Speaker 4: This week it is.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Do the Juars score more or less than twenty seven points?
- 9:37Speaker 3: And JP Shaddrick Arstin Khley got pointed out yesterday that
- 9:41Speaker 3: Jedwars have never scored more than twenty seven at Indianapolis.
- 9:46Speaker 3: It feels like this team, I think they'll score twenty
- 9:50Speaker 3: eight to thirty. So I think they'll score more than that,
- 9:54Speaker 3: and I think the days of them not scoring more
- 9:56Speaker 3: than that up there.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Are coming to an anger. I think this team's gonna
- 9:59Speaker 4: score a lot for a long time.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I say they score twenty seven or more. I'm
- 10:02Speaker 2: going with thirty one. I think this is a thirty
- 10:05Speaker 2: one to seventeen kind of ball game.
- 10:06Speaker 1: All right. I think that's fair. Mine is similar in
- 10:10Speaker 1: expectations to what we can expect from the offense as well,
- 10:12Speaker 1: because when you're talking about scoring twenty seven or plus
- 10:15Speaker 1: out of the gate, that means an offense that's working. Well.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Mine's about Calvin Ridley. Everybody's been talking about the new weapon.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Are we gonna see him come out of the gate,
- 10:22Speaker 1: have one hundred plus yards a touchdown or two and
- 10:24Speaker 1: all this right out of the gate? Or is this
- 10:25Speaker 1: something that's gonna build a chemistry with Trevor Lawrence. We're
- 10:28Speaker 1: gonna get more of a breakout game later in the year.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm going with I think it'll be a slow burn.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I think that we will see flashes from him, but
- 10:35Speaker 1: I don't know if we're going to see that crazy
- 10:37Speaker 1: connection right out of everything in game one yet.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I don't know what stats we're gonna see from Calvin,
- 10:44Speaker 3: but I don't think it's gonna take him long. DIACI
- 10:46Speaker 3: made the Trevor Lawrence we saw in training camp. The
- 10:49Speaker 3: suddenness and the speed is really impressive out of Calvin Ridley.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Maybe the stats don't show up because I think maybe
- 10:57Speaker 3: teams know about.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Him and to try to take him away.
- 11:01Speaker 3: But I don't think you're gonna see a feel of
- 11:05Speaker 3: Jaguars fans wondering why they got this guy. I just
- 11:09Speaker 3: don't know if the numbers are gonna follow it. I
- 11:10Speaker 3: think he's gonna be fine out of the gate.
- 11:12Speaker 2: If you're Gus Bradley and you look at the Jaguars offense,
- 11:16Speaker 2: who are you saying we've got to.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Stop him at all costs? Right? I mean, I think
- 11:21Speaker 5: number one is Calvin.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Ridley, and so I think you'll see them roll their
- 11:25Speaker 2: coverages his way, not wanting to give up the big
- 11:28Speaker 2: play and thinking that with Shack Leonard in the middle
- 11:29Speaker 2: there they can keep things in front of them. I mean,
- 11:32Speaker 2: that's kind of the way you play with the cover three.
- 11:34Speaker 2: So my guess is, and that's Gus Bradley's based defense.
- 11:37Speaker 2: So my guess is is that Jay Jones is a
- 11:39Speaker 2: guy who's gonna have a big day because I think
- 11:41Speaker 2: they're gonna be so worried about him and Ingram beating
- 11:43Speaker 2: them for the short yardage underneath and what Christian Kirk
- 11:45Speaker 2: can do for them at Travis ETN. I think Say
- 11:48Speaker 2: Jones is a guy this year who's gonna have a
- 11:50Speaker 2: huge year. He's gonna be the beneficiary of defense, is
- 11:54Speaker 2: looking at some other things, and he is a guy
- 11:56Speaker 2: with deceptive speed and big playability.
- 11:59Speaker 5: So I think the big day on Sunday.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Lots of weapons, lots of options. We'll see what they
- 12:04Speaker 1: end up doing on Sunday. Coming up in our next segment,
- 12:08Speaker 1: we're gonna do a zone mail bag. John will share
- 12:10Speaker 1: his wisdom with us and answer all your questions. He'll
- 12:12Speaker 1: stay with us for ten years. Dreamfinders' Homes has been

- 12:30Speaker 1: inventory and go Jags please.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Podcasts Friday, Oh.
- 12:41Speaker 1: All right, it's your favorite time of the week. John
- 12:42Speaker 1: O's You're just gonna share his wisdom with us, answer
- 12:45Speaker 1: your most written in questions, what you need to know.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So we're gonna start out with one of our uh,
- 12:52Speaker 1: one of our viewers, I guess I put it there,
- 12:53Speaker 1: one of our readers, one of John's readers. I'll say so.
- 12:56Speaker 1: From Omaha bar and Key injury. She says she believes
- 12:59Speaker 1: that the Tea will be at least thirteen and four
- 13:01Speaker 1: in the regular season. Do you think the win total
- 13:03Speaker 1: is too low, too high, or just right?
- 13:05Speaker 3: Well, I think it's too high, and I'm not I'm
- 13:07Speaker 3: not trying to criticize Sue here, but thirteen wins in
- 13:10Speaker 3: the regular.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Seasons a lot.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I'm with Sue. I mean, let's do this.
- 13:13Speaker 4: For a team they are nine last year.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I think it's a smidge too of I'm going eleven
- 13:18Speaker 3: or twelve wins for this team. I think eleven or
- 13:19Speaker 3: twelve is a good total for any team in the NFL.
- 13:23Speaker 3: So I think it's a touch too high, which doesn't
- 13:25Speaker 3: mean I don't think they're good. I just think thirteen
- 13:28Speaker 3: you need a lot to go right. You need to
- 13:30Speaker 3: play well every week, you need to not have things
- 13:32Speaker 3: go against you certain weeks, and you need to be
- 13:34Speaker 3: healthy all season.
- 13:35Speaker 4: So I think thirteen is tough.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, there's just so many examples of you
- 13:39Speaker 2: don't know who's going to be healthy or who's not.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I mean, so right now, Kansas City fans say, well,
- 13:43Speaker 2: you know we're at home defending champs Thursday, night against
- 13:46Speaker 2: the lines. Well, it appears to gonna play without Travis
- 13:48Speaker 2: Kelce and Chris Jones.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Has it reported yet We're.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Still so confident about that, right, You just don't know
- 13:54Speaker 2: over the course of an entire season and now a
- 13:56Speaker 2: seventeen week season, who's going to be there and who's
- 14:00Speaker 2: not gonna be there. So saying that we're gonna be
- 14:02Speaker 2: thirteen and four is like saying, well, we're gonna be
- 14:04Speaker 2: healthy all year. That just feels a little bit off
- 14:06Speaker 2: to me. So I was an eleven win team. I
- 14:09Speaker 2: mean I thought last year they should have won a
- 14:11Speaker 2: couple more games. And to me it makes sense. You know,
- 14:13Speaker 2: eleven twelve wins is about It feels like you could
- 14:16Speaker 2: overcome some injuries here and there. By the way, what
- 14:19Speaker 2: a Travis Kelce has a knee issue and doesn't play
- 14:22Speaker 2: for three or four weeks.
- 14:23Speaker 5: And Chris Jones is a year for week two?
- 14:25Speaker 3: Yep?
- 14:25Speaker 2: Okay, I mean you just don't know. The injury situation
- 14:28Speaker 2: is really what drives things in this league.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Yes, that's why we don't like to predict or I
- 14:33Speaker 1: like to predict anyway else.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Else speaker, you just did you said, well soon and I.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Are on the same page. We're gonna We're gonna go
- 14:38Speaker 1: We're gonna go big or go home. All right, Our
- 14:40Speaker 1: next writer slash viewer here is gonna be Bradley from Sparks, Nevada.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Do you think the Jags have the most balanced offense
- 14:48Speaker 1: when compared with the other AFP elite.
- 14:51Speaker 4: So tough to say that most balanced?
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, he says Nanny's pretty balanced, so it's Buffalo. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 3: So I don't know if they're significantly more balanced. I'll
- 15:04Speaker 3: say this, they're really balanced, the Jags, And I think
- 15:09Speaker 3: what's gonna happen. The reason I chose this question. I
- 15:11Speaker 3: think they're gonna surprise people and maybe even fans with
- 15:14Speaker 3: how well they can run. So it's a fair point
- 15:19Speaker 3: they might wind up the end of the season with
- 15:21Speaker 3: everybody around the NFL talking about how balanced they are.
- 15:25Speaker 3: So I think they have a chance to be the
- 15:27Speaker 3: correct answer to this question.
- 15:28Speaker 4: I just don't know yet.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Well, Well, we look at the AFC, though, John, I
- 15:31Speaker 2: mean the Chargers, the Chiefs, We talked about the Bengals
- 15:34Speaker 2: and the Bills. What what about the Jets, right, I mean,
- 15:37Speaker 2: they've got Dalvin Cook all of a sudden to go
- 15:39Speaker 2: with breeze Hall, who's back, and Aaron Rodgers and their
- 15:42Speaker 2: defenses we saw last year on that Thursday night before
- 15:44Speaker 2: Christmas really good. So I don't think there are any
- 15:47Speaker 2: more balance. But they're right there in the mix for
- 15:50Speaker 2: being one of those balanced teams in the AFC, and
- 15:52Speaker 2: that's what they needed to be.
- 15:53Speaker 1: And I think the offensive line gives them a little
- 15:55Speaker 1: leg up to because youre talking about the Jets. Their
- 15:56Speaker 1: offensive line is a mess. So like, I'll give them
- 15:57Speaker 1: skill set players, but they're really you know, you count
- 16:01Speaker 1: all eleven there and I don't really see a hole
- 16:03Speaker 1: at this point. Again, some of that needs to be
- 16:05Speaker 1: proven with some of the younger guys like Tank Bigsby
- 16:08Speaker 1: or you know, the tight ends if Brenton Stranger is
- 16:10Speaker 1: in there on the two tight end sets. But it's there.
- 16:13Speaker 1: We'll just have to wait and see what we actually
- 16:14Speaker 1: get out of it, all right. Our final question in
- 16:17Speaker 1: the ozone mail bag comes from Nick and he wants
- 16:19Speaker 1: to know are we gonna see Gardner Minshew play on Sunday.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I don't, and I understand the question. You've got a
- 16:26Speaker 3: rookie quarterback for the Colts, so Minshew usually plays in
- 16:31Speaker 3: that situation where things break down. I don't think barring
- 16:34Speaker 3: injuried Anthony Richardson. I don't think they'll go away from
- 16:37Speaker 3: him and play Minshew in week one. That would surprise me.
- 16:40Speaker 3: But Minshew is a presence that if Shane Stykeen is
- 16:45Speaker 3: thinking I'm gonna give Richardson a chance in games until
- 16:49Speaker 3: I want to see Minshew, that doesn't feel right to me.
- 16:52Speaker 4: So I don't think you'll see it.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Do you know at credit Gardner Minshew, who has never
- 16:56Speaker 2: backed down, he seems to have figured out his role here.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I mean he said when Anthony was named the starter,
- 17:02Speaker 2: I support him.
- 17:03Speaker 5: I think he's going to be starr in the league.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Connect the dots.
- 17:06Speaker 2: He came with Shane steik And and Sdyke and had to
- 17:07Speaker 2: tell him when he signed him, we're going to draft
- 17:09Speaker 2: quarterback at four, so understand your role. And both of
- 17:14Speaker 2: them are coached by the same off the field coach,
- 17:16Speaker 2: well not off the field budge away from the franchise coach,
- 17:19Speaker 2: Danny Thompson, who's a guy who has a facility.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Here in Mandarin.
- 17:22Speaker 2: So you get the sense that Minshee's perspective has been
- 17:26Speaker 2: shaped on where he fits. I mean, it doesn't no,
- 17:29Speaker 2: I don't think we're going to see him, because I
- 17:30Speaker 2: think you're gonna want Richardson to understand, if it's good,
- 17:34Speaker 2: here's how we play. If it's bad, here's how we
- 17:37Speaker 2: get through it and keep going. There's no point to
- 17:40Speaker 2: put Minshew in. If Richardson's going to be your guy,
- 17:42Speaker 2: he's gonna be the guy. And I think for the
- 17:44Speaker 2: first time in his career, Minshew looks and says, we
- 17:46Speaker 2: Chase Daniel made forty two million bucks as a backup quarterback.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I can live a really nice life on that. I'm
- 17:51Speaker 2: gonna do that. Mark Brunell played nineteen years right, he
- 17:54Speaker 2: made a lot of money as a backup quarterback. I
- 17:57Speaker 2: think Gardner looks and says, I'm okay.
- 17:59Speaker 1: It's not the worst job in the world to wear
- 18:00Speaker 1: a baseball cap and hold a clipboard.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Once in a while. No, and he's a competitor.
- 18:03Speaker 2: He wants to play, no doubt, but he understands the
- 18:05Speaker 2: circumstances in the situation.
- 18:07Speaker 1: So and I do think if we do see Gardner Minshew,
- 18:09Speaker 1: it's a bad situations. That means, unfortunately, either Richardson got hurt,
- 18:12Speaker 1: because mentally, you don't wanna you're putting your rookie in there.
- 18:14Speaker 1: They're putting the faith in him. You don't want to
- 18:15Speaker 1: take him out and put someone else in, even if
- 18:18Speaker 1: you're down for touchdowns.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Well, you went unpredictable.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Minshew kind of screws with your game
- 18:24Speaker 2: plan because he is entirely unpredictable.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Oh maybe it is a game. Well, maybe we will
- 18:28Speaker 1: see him.
- 18:28Speaker 4: I don't think we will.
- 18:29Speaker 1: All right, Well, John says nose. And that was and
- 18:31Speaker 1: that was who you wrote into and who you wanted
- 18:33Speaker 1: the answer from. So that's the final word. Stay with us.

- 19:00Speaker 1: Trevor today. What are you open to hear? You know
- 19:02Speaker 1: from them in terms of what they're doing for preparing
- 19:04Speaker 1: for week one?
- 19:05Speaker 4: Oh, I think you'll hear what you expect.
- 19:08Speaker 3: They're fired up, they're ready, They know that even though
- 19:10Speaker 3: they're favored against the Colts, you got to go up
- 19:12Speaker 3: there and do it.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I think you'll see. I think Brian, you'll hear the
- 19:16Speaker 4: normal week one stuff.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody wants to step too four out, you know,
- 19:20Speaker 2: on the ladder there and risk falling over and falling
- 19:22Speaker 2: flat on your face.
- 19:23Speaker 5: But I think the one thing about.
- 19:25Speaker 2: This quarterback in this coach is their relationship and Trevor's
- 19:29Speaker 2: maturity level and leadership ability and just overall mastery of
- 19:33Speaker 2: the situation that he's in with Doug and his experience.
- 19:37Speaker 5: I love listening at these.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Guys talk about the different matchups week to week. So
- 19:40Speaker 2: I'm excited for this today. I'm excited for tomorrow. I'm
