- 0:01Modern day scientists, researchers and philosophers are
- 0:06beginning to explore the mysteries of life and as they do
- 0:10so they are beginning to recognize the existence of
- 0:13domains, planes, worlds and universes that the external mind
- 0:19of humanity has avoided or at least resisted.
- 0:24Now scientists speak of parallel universes, anti universes,
- 0:30quantum states in which all possible outcomes exist until we
- 0:33actually observe a specific one and bring it into actuality.
- 0:40It has long been known that vibrations outside the specific
- 0:43range of our perceptions nevertheless can and do impact
- 0:48our lives. Anyone who has suffered a
- 0:51sunburn has had a direct experience of this fact.
- 0:56These impacts are not solely related to physical forces but
- 1:00also affect our emotions and our minds.
- 1:04The effects of the moon cycles and seasonal changes are now
- 1:08well established factors in dealing with emotional and
- 1:12mental changes we experience. Some scientists have determined
- 1:17that matter is not just energy, as Einstein showed in his famous
- 1:22equation E equals MC squared, but is actually a form of
- 1:27consciousness. We can no longer simply dismiss
- 1:31the idea of multiple planes of existence.
- 1:35This provides support to all those individuals throughout
- 1:38history who have had supra sensory experiences of other
- 1:43worlds were beings. What used to be dismissed out of
- 1:47hand as crazy talk is now the stuff of scientific research and
- 1:53validation. As a result, serious study of
- 1:58manuscripts such as the Tibetan Book of the Dead have become
- 2:02part of the forward-looking elements of humanity as we work
- 2:06on gaining a greater understanding of our lives, our
- 2:09existence and the universe within which we exist, Sri
- 2:16Aurobindo writes Quote. All our spiritual and psychic
- 2:20experience bears affirmative witness, brings us always a
- 2:25constant and in its main principles an invariable
- 2:29evidence of the existence of higher worlds, freer planes of
- 2:33existence. Not having bound ourselves down
- 2:37like so much of modern thought, to the dogma that only physical
- 2:42experience or experience based upon the physical sense is true,
- 2:47the analysis of physical experience by the reason alone
- 2:51at verifiable, and all else only result of physical experience
- 2:57and physical existence, and anything beyond this an error,
- 3:01self delusion and hallucination. We are free to accept this
- 3:06evidence and to admit the reality of these planes.
- 3:10We see that they are practically different harmonies from the
- 3:14harmony of the physical universe.
- 3:17They occupy, as the word plane suggests, a different level in
- 3:21the scale of being, and adopt A different system and ordering of
- 3:26its principles. We need not inquire for our
- 3:30present purpose whether they coincide in time and space with
- 3:34our own world, or move in a different field of space and in
- 3:39another stream of time. In either case it is in a more
- 3:44subtle substance and with other movements.
- 3:49All that directly concerns us is to know whether they are
- 3:52different universes, each complete in itself and in no way
- 3:57meeting, inter crossing or affecting the others, or are
- 4:01rather different scales of 1 graded and interwoven system of
- 4:05being parts, therefore of one complex universal system.
- 4:12The fact that they can enter into the field of our mental
- 4:15consciousness would naturally suggest the validity of the
- 4:18second alternative, but it would not by itself be altogether
- 4:22conclusive. But what we find is that these
- 4:27higher planes are actually at every moment acting upon and in
- 4:32communication with our own plane of being, although this action
- 4:37is naturally not present to our ordinary waking or outer
- 4:41consciousness, because that is for the most part limited to a
- 4:45reception and utilization of the contacts of the physical world.
- 4:51But the moment we either go back into our subliminal being or
- 4:56enlarge our waking consciousness beyond the scope of the physical
- 5:00contacts, we become aware of something of this higher action.
- 5:05We find even that the human being can project himself
- 5:08partially into these higher planes under certain conditions,
- 5:12even while in the body. A fortiori must he be able to do
- 5:17it when out of the body, and to do it then completely, since
- 5:21there is no longer the disabling condition of the physical life
- 5:25bound down to the body. The consequences of this
- 5:30relation and this power of transference are of immense
- 5:33importance. On the one side they immediately
- 5:37justify, at any rate as an actual possibility, the ancient
- 5:42tradition of at least a temporary sojourn of the human
- 5:46conscious being in other worlds than the physical after the
- 5:51dissolution of the physical body.
- 5:54On the other side, they open to us the possibility of an action
- 5:59of the higher planes on the material existence which can
- 6:02liberate the powers they represent, the powers of life,
- 6:08mind and spirit for the evolutionary intention inherent
- 6:12within nature by the very fact of their embodiment and matter.
