Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Websites, SEO and AI search visibility.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: A website isn't successful merely because it looks attractive.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: It has to be understandable to people, understandable to search engines, and of course, understandable to artificial intelligence.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Useful to the community it serves, it also needs to be fast enough to use, technically sound, and structured so the right information can be found at the right time.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: I'm interested in this because I've seen local businesses spend money on beautiful websites that don't generate meaningful visibility.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: I build and connect these systems and I focus on the architecture behind the appearance.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Now that first question is what the website is supposed to accomplish.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Is it designed to generate calls, capture forms, book appointments, sell a service, educate a local audience, display listings, or establish authority?
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Now, if the purpose is unclear, the site becomes a collection of pages instead of a business asset.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Search visibility begins with relevance.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: A business needs clear pages for the services, locations, questions, and problems that actually serves.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: The content should be useful and specific, not a pile of repeated keywords.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Search engines evaluate whether a page appears to answer the user's real question.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Technical structure matters as well.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Titles, headings, internal links, page speed, mobile performance, and image descriptions, canonical URLs, indexing control, structured data, redirect security, and clean navigation all influence whether a site can be properly understood and discovered.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Also, there's the artificial intelligence in how to build the content with TLDRs, summaries, AEO, answer engine optimized, content schema architectures, so many other things are brand new and continue to be evolving.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Being in that space and watching all the time and making those adjustments is critical to hiring the smartest in the world.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Now, a site can also look perfect while its important pages are blocked.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Duplicated, slower, and visible to search engines.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Local visibility also depends on consistency.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: The business name, address, phone number, number, hour, service area, and category should agree across the website.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Google Business Profile, Directories, Social Profiles, and other trusted references.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Search engines need confidence that the business is real, current, and connected to the place it claims to serve.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Authority is built over time.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: It can come from helpful original content, legitimate references, community involvement, relevant links, customer experience, consistent business information, and a website that demonstrates firsthand knowledge.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: There's no magic phrase that guarantees a top result, and nobody can honestly promise permanent first position.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: This is also where artificial intelligence search results are changing the confirm the conversation.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Now, people are increasingly asking Google and other systems complete questions instead of typing a few keywords.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Those systems may summarize information from multiple sources and recommend businesses or websites that appear relevant and trustworthy for the specific question.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: My own Santa Clarita open houses experience illustrates that opportunity.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Google has surfaced my local site and AI-generated search results for a relevant Santa Clarita real estate query alongside or above much larger brands.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Now that doesn't mean a local site universally outranks a Zillow.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: It just demonstrates that a focused local business can earn visibility for particular searches when its content structure, relevance, and authority are built correctly.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Now the lesson is not that a domain name alone creates rankings.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: A domain name can help communicate relevance, but it doesn't replace useful content technical quality trust or a strong user experience.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: The work is in the architecture, what the site says, how the pages connect, and whether the information is supported, how the business is identified, and whether visitors can take the next step.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Before hiring somebody for SEO, ask what exactly will be changed?
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Will the work improve the website or simply produce reports?
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Will the content be original and reviewed?
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: How will success be measured?
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: And what will you receive across to your domain analytics, search control website, and business profiles?
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Are they promising rankings they cannot control?
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Can they explain the strategy in plain English?
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Analytics should measure more than traffic.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: We should know which pages attract qualified visitors, which searches lead people to the site, which calls and forms come from organic visibility, which pages cause people to leave, and which actions produce actual business.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: 10,000 irrelevant visitors may be less valuable than 10 qualified local visitors.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: AI can help research questions, organize content, identify gaps, draft page structures, and analyze data, but AI-generated content still needs accuracy, experience, editing, and accountability.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: A site filled with generic machine-written articles may be large without being useful.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: The best website strategies connect those sites to CRM, forms, calendars, email, SMS analytics, reputation management, and of course follow-up systems.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: A visitor shouldn't disappear after submitting a form.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: The business should know what they asked for, who owns the follow-up, what response they received, and whether the opportunity became revenue.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Now, when I audit a website, I look at the business, the goal, the technical foundation, local signals, content quality, search architecture, mobile experience, conversation path tracking, and CRM connections and AI search readiness.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: I look for the reasons the site may be invisible, confusing, slow, or disconnected from the business's follow-up process.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: The objective is not to chase an algorithm.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: The objective is to build a website that deserves to be found and makes it easy for the right customer to trust the business and take action.
