- 0:06I have a very tortured relationship with liberalism and
- 0:11liberals for the most part
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: really hate me,
- 0:13but I think that there really needs to be some soul searching
- 0:20done by the liberal
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: establishment about what their priorities are.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I work at a park store in the past 10 years.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: I've worked in a shop.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: I've worked in,
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: and I've worked in a parts store and,
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 0:39the stuff liberals are on the political things that liberals
- 0:43are find important,
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: critical race theory,
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: intersectionality,
- 0:50this kind of stuff is just resoundingly ridiculed in shops and
- 0:55parts stores and job
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: sites everywhere in the country.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: And it's not necessarily because people don't agree with it.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: A lot of people don't agree with it.
- 1:05It's just because it's forced down people's throats and it
- 1:10feels like social engineering.
- 1:12And I think it feels like social engineering because it is
- 1:16social engineering.
- 1:18It's led by academics who spend all of their time coming up
- 1:24with these rather
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: grandiose theories of society
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: And of what society should be.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And there's a place for that.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: But it's become such an industry.
- 1:41And there are so many quote-unquote philosophers doing this
- 1:44type of work that that
- 1:47stuff becomes part of a professional expectations instead of
- 1:51just some asshole's
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: thoughts in their head.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: there's not that much new that can be said from Plato until now,
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: as far as theory goes.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: There are human institutions.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Human institutions get corrupted.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Nobody really knows what knowledge means.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: But you can claim to have knowledge and have power.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: People who control material resources have power.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Also, it's really basic stuff.
- 2:21And it's once you get into the type of social engineering that
- 2:24happens with
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: critical race theory,
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: which is,
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: white culture is somehow always bad,
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: is always oppressive.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: It is an oppressor's culture.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: You know, most people don't even think about culture at all, ever.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: They never think about their culture.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: It's just how they do things.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: It's just their way of life.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And they never sit, you know, 99% of the world
- 2:51doesn't sit down and critically assess their own cultural mores
- 2:57because that's an
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: academic exercise.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: It affects the way you live your life in an everyday way,
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: but as long as there's some way to communicate across different cultures,
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: people don't really think about it.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: And the fact of the matter is,
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: is if it's an American culture,
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: it probably shares a lot of the same things.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: And we're kind of straining at gnats as to where these cultures are.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: And these cultures get described in such rigid and gate kept ways.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: And it's just frustrating to people in the working class.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And, you know,
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: everybody wants to say Trump won and that sort of stuff,
- 3:42but really more and more people are just checking out of the
- 3:45political system
- 3:46because you've got a charlatan and a showman in Trump who's
- 3:54obviously lying all the time,
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: but is entertaining.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: And you've got the Democrats who are on some,
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: basically on some bullshit that nobody cares about.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: And, you know, if liberals are to get back in the game and,
- 4:08They're going to have to stop listening to the academics and
- 4:11the activists and the
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: community organizers.
- 4:14And they're going to start having to listen to regular everyday
- 4:17normal people
- 4:18without an ax to grind what they want and what regular everyday
- 4:22normal people want
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: is better jobs,
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: more money,
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: good education and future for the kids.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: It's not that complicated healthcare.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: People want healthcare.
- 4:33People want healthcare,
- 4:34food,
- 4:35clothing,
- 4:35shelter,
- 4:36education for their kids.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: a future for their family.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: That's what they want.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: They don't want to be told that their culture is wrong.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: It's just a total turnoff.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Whether it's true or not is irrelevant.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: You're trying to win political battles.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: You're not trying to invent a utopian society, and some of us do do that.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: I do that work.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: I try to invent utopian societies.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: But I don't see what I do as anything other than a fantasy.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: It's a creative work of fantasy.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: It's not to be implemented in policy in any way, shape, or form.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: The things that I want implemented in policy are like mutual aid,
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: a certain type of pedagogy and education,
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: unions,
- 5:32cooperatives i want those things supported and these are
- 5:34practical this is a
- 5:35practical type of agenda that liberals could easily adopt that
- 5:43would make a
- 5:44difference in people's everyday life it's the kitchen table
- 5:48issues again and i just
- 5:52we got to get away from academic-led politics you know
- 5:55academics are good for
- 5:56theory they're good to give you some insight to things but they
- 5:59can't lead the
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: politics they gotta
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: be sort of in the background and play a role,
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: but they can't be the ones determining what the policy agenda is.
- 6:11It needs to be people with some kind of engagement with people
- 6:16at their kitchen tables.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Anyway, I feel bad for liberals.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: I think it's, it's a tough time for them.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Um,
- 6:27I think the biggest mistake that could have ever been made was
- 6:30to do all the CRT
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: intersectionality stuff and then to support the guys in genocide.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: And it just made liberals look like total hypocrites.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: And, you know, people aren't going to vote for a hypocrite.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: People vote for a liar, but they won't vote for a hypocrite.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: So anyway, we'll see y'all later.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Peace, y'all.
