- 0:16Speaker 2: You're listening to Everyday Prayers with Million Praying Moms, helping
- 0:19Speaker 2: you pray God's word for your family in the areas
- 0:21Speaker 2: you need it most. I'm your host, Nicolette Bell. Here,
- 0:24Speaker 2: we believe prayer isn't a last resort. It's our first
- 0:28Speaker 2: and best response in parenting. and every day we come
- 0:31Speaker 2: together to partner with God for the hearts of our children.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Our freebie this month is a five-day prayer reset. It
- 0:38Speaker 2: comes from our newest devotional, Everyday Prayers for Moms, praying
- 0:41Speaker 2: God's word for your children from newborn to empty nest
- 0:44Speaker 2: that came out last week. Maybe you want to pray
- 0:47Speaker 2: more for your kids, or maybe you've tried before, but
- 0:49Speaker 2: life got busy and the habit didn't stick. Maybe you're
- 0:52Speaker 2: not sure where to begin, or maybe you just want
- 0:54Speaker 2: to go a little bit deeper. Wherever you are, I
- 0:57Speaker 2: want you to know this. You don't have to have
- 0:59Speaker 2: it all figured out to start praying. Psalm 105.4 reminds
- 1:04Speaker 2: us to seek His face always. We are invited to
- 1:08Speaker 2: continually bring our lives and our children to God. In
- 1:12Speaker 2: 1 Thessalonians 5.17 reminds us to pray without ceasing. Prayer
- 1:18Speaker 2: isn't meant to be one more thing we have to
- 1:20Speaker 2: get right. It's an invitation to walk with God through
- 1:24Speaker 2: the everyday moments of motherhood. I'm learning that prayer looks
- 1:27Speaker 2: different in different seasons. Some seasons allow for long, quiet prayers.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Others might mean a few minutes before the kids wake up,
- 1:34Speaker 2: a prayer in the car or simply turning your heart
- 1:37Speaker 2: towards God in the middle of a busy day. God
- 1:40Speaker 2: isn't looking for perfect, polished prayers. He's after our hearts.
- 1:43Speaker 2: That's why I created this five-day prayer reset. These five
- 1:47Speaker 2: days are not about adding another task to your list
- 1:50Speaker 2: or creating a perfect prayer routine. They're simply an invitation
- 1:53Speaker 2: to pause, begin again, and discover a rhythm of prayer
- 1:57Speaker 2: that fits your real life. So take a breath. Give
- 2:02Speaker 2: yourself some grace. Come as you are and begin our
- 2:04Speaker 2: five-day prayer reset today. Find a link in our show notes.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Today's devotion is written and read by Emily Waranga, the
- 2:11Speaker 2: founder of the Lulu Tree and author of her new book,
- 2:13Speaker 2: Commune With Me. To learn more about Emily or more

- 2:21Speaker 2: a quick word from our sponsors, we'll pray together for
- 2:24Speaker 2: our families.
- 2:30Speaker 1: A prayer for when you wonder if God still does miracles.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Parts of me are present and parts aren't. A Mama
- 2:38Speaker 1: Kit outreach is happening here in Uganda. 800 pregnant mothers
- 2:43Speaker 1: with swollen belly gathered in bright fabric under a white tent.
- 2:48Speaker 1: My legs and my arms and my body are with
- 2:51Speaker 1: these mamas. My mind and my heart are not. They're
- 2:55Speaker 1: clinging to my mom in Canada. to the news that
- 2:58Speaker 1: mom's brain tumor has returned, that it is grade four
- 3:03Speaker 1: and is growing fast. My body dances with the mamas
- 3:07Speaker 1: in the mango-colored sun. My heart wraps around my own
- 3:11Speaker 1: mom in an Afghan blanket, dying miles away. An early
- 3:17Speaker 1: church father once said, that which is not assumed in
- 3:21Speaker 1: the incarnation is not healed. This unassumed means not taken on,
- 3:27Speaker 1: or not owned by the Incarnation, and the Incarnation is
- 3:31Speaker 1: the Gospel. The Incarnation is God wrapping himself in skin,
- 3:37Speaker 1: taking on hangnail and acne, hormones and aging. God surrendered
- 3:43Speaker 1: to the process of breaking down long before picking up
- 3:47Speaker 1: the matzah at the Last Supper. His body began to
- 3:51Speaker 1: deteriorate the moment he stepped into Mary's womb. The very
- 3:56Speaker 1: spirit that wove his cells together and strung veins and
- 3:59Speaker 1: arteries and filled up his lungs was his own spirit,
- 4:03Speaker 1: was himself. See, for example, Matthew chapter 1 verses 18
- 4:08Speaker 1: through 21. God put himself together in the form of
- 4:13Speaker 1: a human and scheduled his own execution. See John chapter
- 4:18Speaker 1: 10 verses 17 to 18. And in the meantime, he
- 4:22Speaker 1: surrendered to sickness, loneliness, hunger, and temptation. Parts of him
- 4:29Speaker 1: were in heaven, parts were on earth, and parts were
- 4:32Speaker 1: hovering over the waters. While in Uganda, I witness a miracle.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I see food multiply. I see beef stew and rice
- 4:42Speaker 1: and motoki squash not run out, feeding 800 mothers plus
- 4:47Speaker 1: village children, despite our accounting for 500. I see women
- 4:52Speaker 1: delivered of demons and bodies healed. And when it comes
- 4:56Speaker 1: time to distribute the 500 pregnancy kits, pastors calling out
- 5:02Speaker 1: names from the sheet where the women had been signed up,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I see another multiplication. The pile of kits, a small
- 5:10Speaker 1: white hill on a piece of plastic on the red
- 5:13Speaker 1: dirt floor, does not reduce. And when the calling of
- 5:17Speaker 1: the names is over, Some mothers haven't taken two kids
- 5:22Speaker 1: because of twins. There remain 118 kids. God divided himself
- 5:30Speaker 1: up when he came to earth. Then he kept dividing
- 5:33Speaker 1: like cells, distributing his teaching and his love and his
- 5:37Speaker 1: bread and his healing. It was the great divide. And
- 5:41Speaker 1: in dividing himself, he multiplied through the spirit so we
- 5:45Speaker 1: might all carry him everywhere and be one. As we
- 5:50Speaker 1: come thirsty and hungry to his side, he says, drink,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and we assume. We assume the incarnation. We own it,
- 5:58Speaker 1: wrap ourselves in it like an Afghan blanket. We take
- 6:02Speaker 1: on his body, his mind, his heart, and his healing.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And in his breaking friend, we become whole. Mighty Yeshua,
- 6:12Speaker 1: you broke and I break, thinking about you breaking. Thank
- 6:16Speaker 1: you for loving me enough to divide yourself up to
- 6:20Speaker 1: be separated from your Father. Thank you for bleeding to
- 6:23Speaker 1: make me whole.
- 6:25Speaker 2: My guess is that if you're here listening to the
- 6:28Speaker 2: Everyday Prayers podcast, you kind of care about praying for
- 6:32Speaker 2: your children. My newest book, Everyday Prayers for Moms, Praying
- 6:36Speaker 2: God's Work for Your Children from Newborn to Emptiness, is
- 6:40Speaker 2: a great resource for moms who desire to pray for
- 6:44Speaker 2: their kids. I don't know if you've ever looked up
- 6:46Speaker 2: at the end of the day and realized that you
- 6:48Speaker 2: didn't pray at all So often we have this desire
- 6:52Speaker 2: to pray, but we may not know how to put
- 6:56Speaker 2: that desire in to practice. I'm learning in motherhood that
- 7:00Speaker 2: my prayers adapt and change based on the season that
- 7:03Speaker 2: we're in as a family. I'm also learning to give
- 7:06Speaker 2: myself grace in those different seasons. I know God isn't
- 7:10Speaker 2: after perfect, polished prayers. He's after my heart, and He's
- 7:14Speaker 2: after yours too. So my plan is to be intentional,
- 7:19Speaker 2: whatever that looks like in this season. I hope that
- 7:22Speaker 2: is your plan as well. God sees our hearts. He's
- 7:26Speaker 2: honored by our desire to connect with Him. If you're
- 7:30Speaker 2: feeling stuck in your prayer life, I've got a new
- 7:33Speaker 2: free download, a five-day prayer reset. It's a great guide
- 7:40Speaker 2: to help you get started, jump back in, stay consistent,
- 7:45Speaker 2: grow deeper in your prayers for your kids. It's also
- 7:48Speaker 2: a great tool to share with your friends or with
- 7:51Speaker 2: your family members that may be seeking to know God
- 7:56Speaker 2: deeper in prayer as they're wanting to pray for their kids.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I hope you will.

- 8:09Speaker 2: the Lord bless you and keep you. Make His face
- 8:13Speaker 2: shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the
- 8:16Speaker 2: Lord look with favor upon you and give you His peace.
