- 0:34Speaker 3: No, I love it, I love it, Go ahead, run
- 0:37Speaker 3: the sad Yeah, good Joe. Runner. Today is Kristen looking
- 0:43Speaker 3: earlier the dear dad? Okay, well this backfired. I thought
- 0:47Speaker 3: you would.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Welcome to season three. What do you expect out of
- 0:52Speaker 2: season three, Kristen?
- 0:53Speaker 1: What do I expect? Yeah, more laughs, maybe a few tears,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but overall just a good time.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Typically when the show gets to season three, they up
- 1:06Speaker 2: their budget, so it might be a bit better.
- 1:08Speaker 1: A lot of a lot of shows seem to like
- 1:10Speaker 1: start really hitting their strides in the second third season.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It's when you get the most gold.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I see what you did there with the gold girls.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Speaking of gold, we have a gold standard of podcast royalty.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Here today, our friend of the show, CJ has returned.
- 1:29Speaker 3: You now know him as DJ's Anthis welcome sir.
- 1:34Speaker 5: I was gonna say, did smoke show uper Aaron come
- 1:36Speaker 5: because I don't know who you're talking about or Algie
- 1:41Speaker 5: for Aggie's a fucking silent, fucking ninja.
- 1:43Speaker 4: That dude is.
- 1:45Speaker 2: He's so funny.
- 1:47Speaker 1: We're so glad you came back for the next time.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Having me back. This is this is great. I I,
- 1:52Speaker 5: I you you're three of we were so fun to
- 1:54Speaker 5: hang out with. I know we just did this what
- 1:55Speaker 5: oh you know, just recently but uh.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's been a whole week.
- 1:59Speaker 1: But.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It but just for the first time. I was great.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Hopefully I'll go.
- 2:05Speaker 5: I'm trying to see if I can eclipse my over
- 2:07Speaker 5: on BFY tw at this point. So you have to
- 2:09Speaker 5: have me back because I need to lose at least
- 2:11Speaker 5: seven more.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Okay, we can do that.
- 2:14Speaker 4: We can make that happen.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Christy could beat your ass, that's fine.
- 2:18Speaker 3: She has no problems kicking people's ass.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I've noticed that. That was clear. Yeah, no, thank
- 2:24Speaker 4: you for having me back. I appreciate it.
- 2:26Speaker 3: It's a big show, guys.
- 2:28Speaker 2: We need to beat cheo weal beak choo. I know
- 2:31Speaker 2: it aired technically like a month or two ago, but
- 2:34Speaker 2: for us, it just happened. The Golden Girls special on ABC.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Was it twenty twenty I.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Think it was twenty twenty and they had it on
- 2:43Speaker 1: Hulu anversary special.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah, check get out.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I have a fun a ton of really fun like
- 2:51Speaker 1: facts and even stuff we've talked about on here.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yes, and kloon Dog was there.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Mm hm, and they talked about the calendar from the backstage.
- 3:00Speaker 6: I know.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I saw another photo that we had.
- 3:03Speaker 5: I want to know why the didn't reach out to
- 3:04Speaker 5: you all to be on the things I.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Featured that. That's even worse.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I was like, should we reach out to them? Aaron,
- 3:13Speaker 2: there are only a few episodes ahead of us. She
- 3:15Speaker 2: just goes, maybe.
- 3:19Speaker 3: It's fine. I haven't actually watched the special yet. Today
- 3:23Speaker 3: is the first day that it popped up on Hulu
- 3:26Speaker 3: for me. I heard that George Cluinney was on, and
- 3:29Speaker 3: what's interesting is it's the first time that George Clooney
- 3:32Speaker 3: has spoken about Golden Girls since back like when he
- 3:36Speaker 3: was on it. He's never really been interviewed quick.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it feels like it was part of another interview
- 3:42Speaker 2: used for this is what the vibe I got, like
- 3:46Speaker 2: everyone else seemed like they were there for that, but
- 3:48Speaker 2: his was just like two little clip. What did you think? Yeah,
- 3:52Speaker 2: he was on an episode I watched in season two
- 3:56Speaker 2: where he was an undercover.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Cap Bonus points. What was his name, Bobby?
- 4:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember him being on.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, he was on Rosanna's Her Boss.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, for a little bit.
- 4:13Speaker 3: God, George Clooney has always been a Clooney, our friend
- 4:17Speaker 3: of the show. That was here for the George Clooney episode,
- 4:19Speaker 3: James sharing Housen. Uh he called him? Or no, did
- 4:22Speaker 3: you call him? Who called him? Cloon dog?
- 4:25Speaker 6: Me?
- 4:25Speaker 2: I don't know if I got that from Ralph Carmen
- 4:27Speaker 2: or who, but yeah, clean dog. It just fits. And
- 4:33Speaker 2: then it became a sex act. We were cloon dog
- 4:35Speaker 2: in each other.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah. But it just shows how many people were affected
- 4:41Speaker 1: by the Golden Girls, which is cool.
- 4:43Speaker 2: They had Mario Lopez, they had our girl, Winnifred Harvey.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Who else did we see? Mort Nathan, Susan Harris, that's
- 4:50Speaker 2: who I want, Barry Fernaro, Terry Hughes, which I didn't
- 4:54Speaker 2: realize was British.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Eighty five years old.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Oh, writers were all super young and most of them
- 5:02Speaker 1: were men. It was very interesting.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I want Susan Harris on our show, but me too.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Wouldn't that be amazing?
- 5:11Speaker 3: Amazing?
- 5:12Speaker 5: You never know guys, I we got people on Potoscuta.
- 5:15Speaker 5: I never thought we'd land and we did, so don't.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It doesn't hard to ask. The worst that happens is
- 5:20Speaker 1: they say no or don't respond.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, shoot your shot all the time, and
- 5:25Speaker 5: we got people we were That's how we got Marilyn Gigliotti.
- 5:28Speaker 5: He got and she came and said yes and had
- 5:32Speaker 5: a blast and yeah. So I'm did dude, take your shot,
- 5:35Speaker 5: shoot your shot?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yes, hear that, Aaron shot, Shoot your shot, Aaron, I
- 5:40Speaker 2: will sign out.
- 5:41Speaker 3: How to reach out to Susan Harris. You guys, get
- 5:43Speaker 3: married Gigi.
- 5:44Speaker 2: That's fine to you.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Guys were talking about all the people that were affected
- 5:48Speaker 5: by the Golden Girls. That's one of my favorite things
- 5:50Speaker 5: to do with old eighties movies and TV shows, just
- 5:52Speaker 5: to watch them and see like stars of today before.
- 5:56Speaker 2: They are oh, I know, the babyface.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Yeah you know.
- 6:00Speaker 5: And I'm not even talking about like Leo de Leonardo DiCaprio, Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 5: growing pains. I'm talking about like these like like just
- 6:07Speaker 5: they're playing Cop number two on the donut Shop that
- 6:10Speaker 5: nobody fucking knows who it is at the time.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Well, we didn't get to the Quentin Tarantino. Yet he
- 6:15Speaker 2: was just like an extra in an episode, right, Yes
- 6:18Speaker 2: he was.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think he talks, does he?
- 6:22Speaker 2: I mean they all sing together, if that counts.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they do sing.
- 6:27Speaker 4: They sing metal versions of the theme song they do.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 2: CJ showed us a metal version of the theme song
- 6:33Speaker 2: for the show and it was fantastic.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It was a banger.
- 6:37Speaker 2: What was it called? Will It Metal?
- 6:39Speaker 4: Well, I think that's just I think that's just the
- 6:41Speaker 4: name of his show. Yeah, yeah, speak it out.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that was fantastic because I was like, the drums
- 6:49Speaker 2: need to hit harder. They always need to.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I found it.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I found it. I found a couple that was the best.
- 6:55Speaker 5: One of the ones I found that I decided to
- 6:57Speaker 5: share with you. But there are several either and one
- 6:58Speaker 5: of them the drums did hit a little bit.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I mean those beats.
- 7:02Speaker 2: The guy was dressed up as a lady and he
- 7:04Speaker 2: kept grabbing his boobs in this because I think they
- 7:06Speaker 2: kept falling, honestly, is what it was. Or it was
- 7:10Speaker 2: like Blanche weren't popped.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Maybe they're not as easy as they look, are they boys?
- 7:13Speaker 5: See, it's hard when they're not attached, you know, right, So.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Imagine you boys deal with that downstairs. You're like, oh
- 7:24Speaker 2: god away, oh god, yeah, just smaller versions of boobs,
- 7:31Speaker 2: that's all.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 4: See, and yours can't get twisted. Ours can. It's not fun.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Ooh ooh.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I mean the older I get. I'm not sure your
- 7:39Speaker 3: statement is correct, but.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I mean you lay down, they go into your armpits. Yeah,
- 7:44Speaker 2: they kind of fall to the side. But yeah, I've
- 7:48Speaker 2: never seen him twist it.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Give me like fifteen twenty years. I bet you can
- 7:53Speaker 3: twist this a lot.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Will they twist? Aaron podcast?
- 7:58Speaker 3: I had a friend that I were with a Disney
- 8:00Speaker 3: that was older than me by a considerable amount. I
- 8:03Speaker 3: would say, she's probably in her like sixties or seventies now,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and she used to joke that she wanted to get
- 8:11Speaker 3: a rose tattoo at the top of her breast and
- 8:15Speaker 3: then the stem would extend down on to the breast,
- 8:18Speaker 3: so that as she got older, the rose would become
- 8:21Speaker 3: a longer stemmed rose.
- 8:24Speaker 4: That's awesome, And then it's like.
- 8:27Speaker 3: You do you shouldn't have return it to my knowledge.
- 8:30Speaker 3: But anyway, maybe that's enough about titties, and maybe we
- 8:35Speaker 3: should talk about this beautiful episode.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think there's any titties in this one?
- 8:41Speaker 4: Well, I mean technically there's four women.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Okay, bear titties? All right. We're talking about season three,
- 8:50Speaker 2: episode one. It's called Old Friends. The original air date
- 8:55Speaker 2: September nineteenth, nineteen eighty seven. Directed by Terry Hughes, a
- 9:00Speaker 2: British gentleman. Written by Terry Grossman and Kathy Spear. What
- 9:05Speaker 2: do you guys think Old Friends will be about?
- 9:09Speaker 4: People they have known for a long time?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Can you be more specific? What do you think the episode?
- 9:14Speaker 2: What will happen?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Somebody's show up that they haven't talked to in a
- 9:21Speaker 1: long time, maybe because they had some kind of falling out,
- 9:27Speaker 1: or and then they because they're old friends of one
- 9:32Speaker 1: of the girls. The other girls are going to get
- 9:34Speaker 1: jealous because these are new friends to them that are around.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Okay, I like it. Do you have any thoughts? DJ?
- 9:44Speaker 4: I do? Wrote?
- 9:45Speaker 5: Some of Rose's friends show up from I can't remember
- 9:48Speaker 5: the name of the thank you, and and they the
- 9:52Speaker 5: other mercilessly attack as they tend to do with Rose.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah, man, well I would like that. I would like
- 10:01Speaker 2: that too. It could possibly be that that's my bad
- 10:06Speaker 2: poker face. Now, who do you think will be the
- 10:09Speaker 2: hardest for Erin to convince you is the villain of
- 10:11Speaker 2: the episode.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I have a write end vote, but I've seen the episode.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I know who would be the hardest.
- 10:20Speaker 5: See out of the four girls villain hardest to convince
- 10:24Speaker 5: you say, Yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 1: We want to make it a challenge for Eric, so.
- 10:27Speaker 2: She has to like do her bsing skills.
- 10:30Speaker 5: I think I think I got that wrong the last
- 10:32Speaker 5: time because I picked Dorothy and I picked because I
- 10:34Speaker 5: would be the easiest.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we have trouble getting that across the people, so
- 10:38Speaker 2: they like.
- 10:39Speaker 3: To see how well eye bullshite.
- 10:42Speaker 2: So it's not who is actually the villain, it's who
- 10:45Speaker 2: can Aaron make the villain?
- 10:46Speaker 4: Well?
- 10:46Speaker 5: No, then she then then I gave you a pretty
- 10:48Speaker 5: lay I gave you a layup last time because she
- 10:50Speaker 5: Dorothy was pretty awful on that one.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Do you know what I.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Because I do think she, and I've said this before,
- 11:00Speaker 5: I think she's typically the villain.
- 11:02Speaker 4: I'm gonna go Blanche.
- 11:03Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be hard to convince on this one.
- 11:04Speaker 5: I feel like that for whatever reason, I don't know's
- 11:08Speaker 5: it's it's a thing down in the in this region
- 11:10Speaker 5: that's just bubbling. I'm not sure, what you know what
- 11:13Speaker 5: generating that one?
- 11:15Speaker 1: Let's do Blanche. You have to make her the villain.
- 11:18Speaker 5: Okay, probably not going to be. Probably not our lay
- 11:20Speaker 5: up there if I'm being honest, but I'm gonna try
- 11:23Speaker 5: it anyway.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, so Blanche is our villain.
- 11:28Speaker 3: You know who's the villain. You know who's the villain
- 11:30Speaker 3: right now? The fucking birds and squirrels. I have been
- 11:33Speaker 3: very quiet about their activity this morning. They are fighting
- 11:37Speaker 3: so intensely on my patio that the driftwood birdhouse that
- 11:41Speaker 3: I have that's a decorative item on the plant stand
- 11:44Speaker 3: literally went flying a few minutes ago, like rolling across.
- 11:48Speaker 2: So I don't know what's going to having a battle
- 11:51Speaker 2: like it's west Side story.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Well, I put fresh appropriate out, I put fresh nuts
- 11:57Speaker 3: and bird seed out. Probably fighting over the snacks. It's
- 12:02Speaker 3: not even like winter anyway. Well, okay, that's the sharks
- 12:08Speaker 3: and the jets. We've got our villain. Did you want
- 12:12Speaker 3: to tell us a little bit about anything else the commercials? Great?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Then watch this ship and we'll be right back.
- 12:21Speaker 6: I'm Richie aka Midnight Agent Raw. I'm Devin aka Special
- 12:25Speaker 6: Delivery Dev.
- 12:26Speaker 4: We're the Supermedia Bros.

- 12:41Speaker 6: or anywhere else that you can listen to podcasts.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Shades on We're.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Off Welcome Back. That was a an episode.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Wow, sure was beginning a middle and I am remiss
- 13:00Speaker 3: in my producer duties. I definitely should have tried to
- 13:03Speaker 3: get friend of the show Wesley Ogle on for this
- 13:05Speaker 3: because spoiler alert, big subplot for Alzheimer's which was just
- 13:11Speaker 3: fucking devastating, so sad.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I think we all know somebody affected. Unfortunately, Yeah, yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 2: they handled it with grace.
- 13:22Speaker 3: They didn't make it so sad, but like it was
- 13:25Speaker 3: thoughtfully sad. It made me feel bad. Didn't want to
- 13:29Speaker 3: learn more, but I cried.
- 13:32Speaker 2: We had an hour long pause just to calm him down.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Until time lying J watched this episode, I didn't
- 13:41Speaker 3: know that Alice flooding that room with her tears could
- 13:46Speaker 3: actually happen. But then we saw CJ just floating around
- 13:51Speaker 3: in his studio and we were like, fuck, we gotta
- 13:53Speaker 3: help CJ.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I figured out, did you I missed it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: A lot of things make me cry. I'm an easy cr.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they with the music and they were
- 14:07Speaker 2: trying to tug at your heart strings. That stuff doesn't
- 14:09Speaker 2: really work on me because I'm like, I know it's fake,
- 14:11Speaker 2: but I know a lot of people will it gets them.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Maybe I'm just a soulless monster.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Maybe I think I think it depends on what it is,
- 14:20Speaker 5: you know what I mean, It depends if you have
- 14:23Speaker 5: you said you think all of us are probably touched
- 14:25Speaker 5: by Alzheimer's in the capacity. But like, I know, like
- 14:28Speaker 5: without getting a whole story, I've lost a relationship to
- 14:31Speaker 5: death once in okay, so like how I met your
- 14:34Speaker 5: mother the end spoilers to those who haven't seen.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Oh sure.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Also like it's been a very long time. That's your fault,
- 14:42Speaker 3: not ours.
- 14:43Speaker 5: Well true, but so you know, so when you see
- 14:46Speaker 5: when I see something like that as an example, right,
- 14:48Speaker 5: that'll that'll trigger me a little harder.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Oh sure, yeah, yeah, oh yeah, I get it.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you think? Alzheimer's affects a lot of people,
- 15:03Speaker 3: and it's it's sad, but it's not something we didn't
- 15:05Speaker 3: do trigger warnings before things back then. I think we're
- 15:10Speaker 3: better about you know, warning people's stuff now, But I
- 15:14Speaker 3: can see how that would have been a really upsetting
- 15:16Speaker 3: episode for the fan base because they probably had some
- 15:19Speaker 3: people that were already starting to experience some of the
- 15:21Speaker 3: early onset.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Sure that one scares the hell out of me. That
- 15:25Speaker 2: seems like you're a prisoner in your own mind.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's scary.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I just take me out like that seems so scary, right.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And it's hard for your loved ones.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Too, Yeah, they don't, They don't know want to help you.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Yeah, my, my, very quickly. My dad had a what's
- 15:42Speaker 5: called it was called a primary progressive epagia. It's similar
- 15:45Speaker 5: to Alzheimer's, say route, so they don't call it Alzheimer's.
- 15:49Speaker 5: And he also had a pulmonary condition. So one of
- 15:52Speaker 5: the two was going to take him down. It was inevitable.
- 15:54Speaker 5: There was no ifs ends or butts about it. Yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 5: And I will sit here and selfishly tell you I'm
- 16:01Speaker 5: glad it was the pulmonary disease, because I feared the
- 16:05Speaker 5: day I walked into his room and he had no.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Clue who the fuck I was.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I get it.
- 16:10Speaker 5: He knew who I was all the way through to
- 16:11Speaker 5: the end. He had trouble breathing and all that other
- 16:13Speaker 5: type of thing. And that's not fun either. And I
- 16:15Speaker 5: don't know upon him or anyone else for that matter,
- 16:18Speaker 5: but I.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Might be the lesser of the two evils.
- 16:22Speaker 5: I mean, I guess slightly. I mean I selt, but
- 16:26Speaker 5: it's purely selfish.
- 16:27Speaker 6: I was.
- 16:28Speaker 4: I was glad he knew who I was till the
- 16:30Speaker 4: very end, you know, And.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Either way sucks. But yeah, I get it. You want
- 16:34Speaker 2: him to like, yes, my dad, I want to know
- 16:36Speaker 2: who I am.
- 16:36Speaker 5: I would have killed I think it would have killed
- 16:38Speaker 5: me to walk in and him be like who.
- 16:40Speaker 3: The news is? Because Wesley and I talk about this
- 16:44Speaker 3: sometimes that you know, selfishly to some extent, our desire
- 16:49Speaker 3: to be in this charity is not just because of
- 16:51Speaker 3: friends or family members, but mostly because we're we don't
- 16:56Speaker 3: want to get it, but we're close to car finding
- 17:00Speaker 3: a cure. There are all sorts of drugs now that
- 17:03Speaker 3: flow the progression which didn't exist, you know, ten or
- 17:08Speaker 3: certainly not forty years ago when this show would have
- 17:10Speaker 3: been on.
- 17:11Speaker 5: Yeah god, oh okay, sorry, I got it on a
- 17:16Speaker 5: happy on a funnier not I just got a chill when.
- 17:17Speaker 4: You said forty years ago.
- 17:21Speaker 2: How long the show?
- 17:22Speaker 3: It's okay, We're okay.
- 17:24Speaker 4: I know it's real, but it's still just we are.
- 17:27Speaker 3: The new norm for middle aged and it's young, vibrant people.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Yeah, like them, that's for sure.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Let's do this. Let's do it.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Let's play a quiz game. Let's play a game as always.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Your name is your buzzer, Buzz. You probably won't win.
- 17:48Speaker 2: We need a guest named buzz please talk.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Okay, I'll work on that. Stand up buzz Aldrin. Is
- 17:54Speaker 3: he still alive? Fuck, it's the only one I could
- 17:58Speaker 3: think of. All right, here's what we're gonna do. I'm
- 18:02Speaker 3: gonna read the question in its entirety. Do not buzz
- 18:05Speaker 3: until I read the question in its entirety. Let's just
- 18:08Speaker 3: get into it.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Okay, let's go.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Why does Sophia start going to the boardwalk?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yes, to watch the old guys rearrange themselves when they
- 18:19Speaker 1: come out of the water.
- 18:21Speaker 4: All right, it's quested. I'm telling you it happens.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Hey, yeah, ye.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Put hidden camera in the underwear of men to watch
- 18:34Speaker 3: and what's happening in here? Yeah. They do that with
- 18:39Speaker 3: animals at the zoo, So let's just do it to
- 18:41Speaker 3: men's balls. And m'st solve this problem.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if I want to watch those
- 18:45Speaker 1: all day.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Hidden Nutkim, that's what we're gonna call it.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Cam seems to be scratching a lot. No, that's normal,
- 18:54Speaker 2: all right.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Question two, what is the name of the teddy bear
- 18:57Speaker 3: Blanche accidentally gives away Christina? Oh, Christen? Fernando, Yes, okay.
- 19:06Speaker 2: You hear the drums, Fernando.
- 19:09Speaker 3: That's the only thing I can think of every time
- 19:11Speaker 3: they say his name is that's all right. Who does
- 19:14Speaker 3: Sophia meet on the boardwalk bench? I think.
- 19:21Speaker 4: Alvin?
- 19:22Speaker 3: Yep? Do you know his last name? For a bonus point?
- 19:25Speaker 3: It's not required you get the.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I do not. I do not. Okay, I could say
- 19:31Speaker 4: the chipmunk, but that's not true.
- 19:32Speaker 3: So teacher's pet knows it, so go ahead, Newcastle. Yes,
- 19:37Speaker 3: you don't get a bonus point.
- 19:38Speaker 1: That's I. Oh yeah, friend of the pod and it's team.
- 19:45Speaker 3: I was thinking about how it was sper but okay,
- 19:51Speaker 3: what kind of sandwich does Sophia have in her bags?
- 19:56Speaker 4: Nice?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Quick, quick man.
- 19:59Speaker 5: I heard it as vial parmesan, but it was definitely
- 20:01Speaker 5: a real sub.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Type of thing. That's what I heard. It's not correct, okay,
- 20:08Speaker 4: fair enough, Christi.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And Freeze.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Well, but I think Gina was the second person to
- 20:20Speaker 3: buzz in the first time. So I decide if it should.
- 20:24Speaker 3: All three of you yelled your names very quickly. But
- 20:27Speaker 3: if you don't think you buzzed in, then give it
- 20:29Speaker 3: to give it to Kristen.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Go ahead, christ, Veal and Pepper.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yes, okay, Daisy is holding Fernando for ransom? What does
- 20:38Speaker 3: she send Blanche as a threat?
- 20:41Speaker 6: Gina?
- 20:42Speaker 3: Gina was first an ear? Yes, so wrong.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I think it was his left ear. Sorry, I hope
- 20:52Speaker 2: that wasn't it.
- 20:53Speaker 3: I think it is. No, I was trying to and yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 3: all right. When Sophia and out and meet up again,
- 21:01Speaker 3: what are they looking for? Slash watching for on the
- 21:04Speaker 3: beach Christmas?
- 21:08Speaker 1: First people peeing in the ocean? Yes, faces, because it's
- 21:17Speaker 1: true we've done this before. You can see the look
- 21:21Speaker 1: on people's faces.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I'm gonna say something out loud that's gonna get me
- 21:25Speaker 3: in trouble in a group setting, for sure. So good
- 21:31Speaker 3: at peeing in a pool and not getting caught.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Not to sell.
- 21:38Speaker 3: No, I don't do it now. I don't do it now,
- 21:40Speaker 3: but in my like twenties, when I was partying all
- 21:42Speaker 3: the time of spell.
- 21:43Speaker 2: If you're drinking, you're na have to pee so much.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and one of my friend's houses made it even
- 21:49Speaker 3: better because they had basically like it was almost as
- 21:52Speaker 3: good as Hugh Hefner's pool. There was this like grotto
- 21:55Speaker 3: in the back you could swim through like this, wow,
- 21:58Speaker 3: like cave area. That was the best place to go
- 22:02Speaker 3: pee in the pool.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Wasn't sneaking there the pool bathroom?
- 22:06Speaker 3: That'd be fair. I was doing like keg stands at
- 22:08Speaker 3: these parties, and like I was very drunk. I probably
- 22:12Speaker 3: would have easily just paid down my own leg. At
- 22:15Speaker 3: some point. I don't party like that anymore, and I
- 22:17Speaker 3: don't be in the pool anymore. You're welcome, but if
- 22:21Speaker 3: I do, you'll never know, is the point.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Don't die now. It turns the pool blue when you
- 22:26Speaker 4: do that or something.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Pete and Pete myth. Alright, let's move on.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I've made too many admissions of guilt. Dorothy threatens to
- 22:43Speaker 3: call the School for Bad Girls. How does she say
- 22:47Speaker 3: they will pick her up?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yes, Kristin, They're gonna put her in a sack and
- 22:53Speaker 1: take her away, Yes, like crampus.
- 22:58Speaker 4: All right, get in the bag.
- 23:02Speaker 3: What is the next thing that Daisy does Kristen.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yes, she takes a water pistol loaded with ready ink
- 23:12Speaker 1: and points in at Fernando's head.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yes, kid is diabolical.
- 23:18Speaker 1: She was an evil girl.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Bad news bears off, bad news two bears this next
- 23:26Speaker 3: question two parts two points.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Wait for it all one two two?
- 23:31Speaker 3: How does Rose get her teddy bear back? And what
- 23:35Speaker 3: does Rose say?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Gina? Yes, she says sometimes life just ain't fair, kiddo,
- 23:43Speaker 2: and she likes simultaneously grabs the bear and shoves the
- 23:46Speaker 2: kid out the door.
- 23:47Speaker 3: She throws her pretty heartily into that wall. If you
- 23:51Speaker 3: wash the girl goes out. Yeah, she's pretty close to
- 23:54Speaker 3: hitting that fake while.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Shoves the shit out of her. So again, catch her
- 23:58Speaker 2: all guard so she'd let go.
- 24:01Speaker 5: Makes you wonder how many takes they did that?
- 24:06Speaker 3: Did they throw her the first time and she went
- 24:08Speaker 3: and hit her face?
- 24:11Speaker 2: We put a mad out there for kid.
- 24:13Speaker 3: She played such a brat. I have to believe she
- 24:15Speaker 3: was nasshole in real life.
- 24:16Speaker 2: She did good.
- 24:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I said during the watching that I recognized her.
- 24:23Speaker 5: She's not as famous as I thought, but she's from
- 24:25Speaker 5: the Wizard.
- 24:27Speaker 2: You're ruining my triviag I'm sorry.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Does not feel nice? Yeah, I know how I feel
- 24:37Speaker 3: when someone ruins my quist. Okay, what hollow up question
- 24:42Speaker 3: does Rose have for Blanche after her story at the
- 24:45Speaker 3: kitchen table?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Oh, Gina, yes, what were you doing in women's petite
- 24:50Speaker 2: yep or ladies petit?
- 24:54Speaker 3: Next question, Sophia is relieved that Dorothy was the one
- 24:59Speaker 3: watch her on the board walk. But who does she say?
- 25:02Speaker 2: She thought it was Gina? Yes, and Gino the enforcer.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, I gotta watch you guys here because
- 25:10Speaker 3: everyone knows this. We had at length the conversation about it.
- 25:13Speaker 3: But what is happening to Alvin's memory?
- 25:16Speaker 1: Kristin?
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yes, sad a sad point. Yes, you have the saddest
- 25:23Speaker 2: point on our show so far. I know I can't
- 25:26Speaker 2: drop next to that point.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I don't know how this one's gonna go to be honest.
- 25:30Speaker 3: This next question, this is a little thing I like
- 25:33Speaker 3: to do sometimes CJ, where I play the game called
- 25:36Speaker 3: last Line, and I just want to know what the
- 25:39Speaker 3: last line of dialogue was. But I know because I
- 25:41Speaker 3: was watching it with you three fucks. You were all talking.
- 25:44Speaker 3: So last line? What is it?
- 25:47Speaker 1: Kristin? Yes, Hey, someone's sitting there, and it was Sophia.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Yeah, somebody's sitting here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, dumb botch a
- 25:57Speaker 3: galop no boja galoop this time.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I know we should get.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Tallyman Todd from by Coastal to start counting the bodjig
- 26:05Speaker 3: loops in each episode for us, except he's busy. Now.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Pretty great cat, All right, Kristen, who won the quiz, I.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Did, yay for sure. I thought.
- 26:23Speaker 3: It's just like as this goes on, and like, I
- 26:26Speaker 3: don't want you to not want to win the quiz.
- 26:29Speaker 3: I liked it. Your competitives dominated. It's starting to feel
- 26:34Speaker 3: a little bit like when Kuzco shows patcha Cuzco Topia
- 26:38Speaker 3: and puts the little like thing that the streamers come
- 26:42Speaker 3: out of the noisy play. Yeah, it feels a little
- 26:47Speaker 3: like that sometimes. But I enjoy that you enjoy the quiz.
- 26:51Speaker 4: I like that.
- 26:52Speaker 2: It's difficult. I have to really try. Is she good?
- 26:56Speaker 3: It could be harder. I went a little short today,
- 26:59Speaker 3: But so let's move on to some trivia trivia.
- 27:04Speaker 4: All right.
- 27:04Speaker 2: We have Joe Seneca as Alvin Newcastle. He was on
- 27:10Speaker 2: the Cosby Show and Crossroads. He was actually sixty eight
- 27:15Speaker 2: years old at the time. Janet McLaughlan was Sandra.
- 27:21Speaker 4: His daughter eight. Now just think about that.
- 27:25Speaker 2: He may not be with us anymore.
- 27:27Speaker 5: Appreciate I'm saying he's one hundred and eight and live
- 27:30Speaker 5: in his best life.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Okay, good for you, Alvah. Janet McLaughlin was Sandra. She
- 27:35Speaker 2: was in the Thirteenth Floor and Tight Rope. I don't
- 27:37Speaker 2: know either one of those. Jenny Lewis played Daisy. She
- 27:41Speaker 2: was in The Wizard, which I mean it was touted
- 27:44Speaker 2: as We're gonna get to see Super Mario Brothers three,
- 27:47Speaker 2: But that movie is actually just about divorce and how
- 27:50Speaker 2: it affects kids.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Isn't the Power Glove in that?
- 27:53Speaker 2: It is?
- 27:54Speaker 4: It is the Power Glove and but.
- 27:57Speaker 2: It's not a good movie and it's sad.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Watch your mouth. That is what I love that movie.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Heavy, heavy themes for.
- 28:07Speaker 5: A kids maybe don't care. It is a fantastic fucking
- 28:10Speaker 5: all right.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Okay. She was also in Pleasantville. She had a Jello commercial.
- 28:15Speaker 2: She was in Troop Beverly Hills.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Oh, I love Pleasantville.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Where a ransom.
- 28:21Speaker 3: She is in Beverly Hills and spoiler. I think she
- 28:23Speaker 3: plays a Brady Budge kid in that too.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Probably a similar outfit.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Hayley and Wizard isn't exactly a peach, so I yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 5: she's she's not.
- 28:33Speaker 2: As bitchy, but yeah, that's yeah. Uh. The ransom and
- 28:37Speaker 2: sending an ear over is a reference to John Paul
- 28:41Speaker 2: Getty the third kidnapping. While in Rome, he was kidnapped.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Ransom was seventeen million dollars. This episode one an Emmy
- 28:49Speaker 2: for Outstanding Technical Direction a stelle Getty one an episode
- 28:54Speaker 2: for this episode or an Emmy for this episode.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Nice.
- 28:58Speaker 2: This I don't know if you noticed, but is a
- 29:01Speaker 2: new stage. It is now at Renmar Studios. There was
- 29:06Speaker 2: no more large vase by the front door. The old
- 29:08Speaker 2: studio was called Sunset Gower.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Oh, Sunse Gower is still there, so they must have
- 29:15Speaker 3: just moved the production for some reason.
- 29:19Speaker 2: And then stuff I caught while we were watching. They
- 29:21Speaker 2: referenced amazing Crescin again he was like a mentalist, she said,
- 29:25Speaker 2: Marshal of Dodge City that was famous in the show
- 29:28Speaker 2: Gun Smoke. And there was a callback to where Rose
- 29:32Speaker 2: held up the overalls that she said, I thought you
- 29:34Speaker 2: weren't dating that person anymore when she dated the little person,
- 29:38Speaker 2: which I didn't catch on past viewing. So I put
- 29:40Speaker 2: it together now she uses the word though, the m
- 29:46Speaker 2: word that I don't care to use, but some people
- 29:50Speaker 2: are Okay, not my choice. Okay, kid OUs, what'd you think?
- 29:59Speaker 1: It was a beautiful whole episode, but it was very sad.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Agree, I agree, Yeah, it was.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Very well done it.
- 30:09Speaker 2: But glad that I had a strong bee line with
- 30:11Speaker 2: Fernando because yeah, I'd let you laugh, so it wasn't
- 30:15Speaker 2: so sad.
- 30:16Speaker 5: Yeah, but even then that was a little sade. You're
- 30:19Speaker 5: watching Roseby and all sad about her losing a childhood toy,
- 30:22Speaker 5: like if that had happened in one of my toy
- 30:23Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 30:24Speaker 2: But then she was savage Rose like, go girl.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Right, But I mean, like, if you really needed an
- 30:31Speaker 5: uplifting bee line, you needed like plant with some crazy
- 30:35Speaker 5: horny dude like that's yeah, like yeah.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, I mean Blanche was pretty busy being the
- 30:42Speaker 3: villain in this episode.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Oh really, how is she the villain?
- 30:46Speaker 4: Yes?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Tell us?
- 30:47Speaker 3: Well, first of all, I just want to start off
- 30:49Speaker 3: by saying she was gaslighting Dorothy because she was like,
- 30:53Speaker 3: great dress, but you don't look that good in it.
- 30:57Speaker 3: But it's the best thing you own. There is your
- 31:00Speaker 3: message here, woman, picking it and yeah, like are you
- 31:06Speaker 3: are you shitting on me completely or are you fucking
- 31:08Speaker 3: with me? Either way? Not great look for Blanche as
- 31:14Speaker 3: is also not this particular haircut she has right now.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Then she gives.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Blanche would have loved the show like say yes to
- 31:24Speaker 2: the dresser or those dressing shows, like oh honey, that
- 31:27Speaker 2: girl can't pull that off.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah, she gives Fernando to the braddiest child in America,
- 31:33Speaker 3: I think. And that's fucking criminal right there, because let's
- 31:40Speaker 3: say she didn't know that Fernando wasn't supposed to be
- 31:42Speaker 3: part of the donations. Great, okay, but people don't have
- 31:47Speaker 3: a rummage sale unless it's for like a good cause.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Normally those are called garage or yard sales. Rummage sales
- 31:56Speaker 3: are typically when large groups of people bring large amount
- 31:59Speaker 3: of stuff to benefit a charity or like something for
- 32:03Speaker 3: a school. So they were probably doing it for Biscayne
- 32:06Speaker 3: General Hospital or for like the community theater that they're
- 32:11Speaker 3: a part of. Probably, And she took money away from
- 32:16Speaker 3: that organization when she gave that teddy bear to that
- 32:19Speaker 3: little girl. On top of that, she fucking lies by
- 32:25Speaker 3: your mission and volunteers to go look around outside in
- 32:32Speaker 3: case the bear walked off, I'll take it. Yeah, and
- 32:38Speaker 3: then still doesn't come clean. It's days later, and the
- 32:43Speaker 3: little shitty redhead kid is the one that ends up
- 32:46Speaker 3: basically spilling the beans. If that girl hadn't come back,
- 32:52Speaker 3: Rose would never have known. Because those are bitches. And
- 32:55Speaker 3: I'm gonna blame Dorothy a little bit here too. They
- 32:58Speaker 3: do not tell the truth, and they good. Our parents
- 33:01Speaker 3: told us, every person of authority when we were children
- 33:04Speaker 3: told us, just tell the truth. If you don't, I'm
- 33:07Speaker 3: going to find out anyway, and it's gonna make it
- 33:09Speaker 3: so much worse. Well, Lance, just tell the truth, because
- 33:13Speaker 3: we found out and it made it worse.
- 33:16Speaker 5: I'm going to postulate that we were all taught that
- 33:18Speaker 5: because of this episode and fucking song.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Also, she got the bare back, but he is disfigured now.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 3: But by the way, yeah, if if someone she should
- 33:34Speaker 3: have offered to Reattach the ear bare minimum.
- 33:37Speaker 2: She needs to be her whatever that word is for
- 33:39Speaker 2: her servant for a week again?
- 33:42Speaker 3: Oh god, something it was a flugan I can't remember
- 33:46Speaker 3: what the void?
- 33:49Speaker 2: Yeah that word.
- 33:52Speaker 3: The word from the episode where she talks about the
- 33:56Speaker 3: problematic civil war, which proves once again that kind of
- 34:00Speaker 3: always Blanches the villain with her backwards.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I mean, they are they called Blanche out. But it's like,
- 34:06Speaker 2: as long as you acknowledge I'm the prettiest, I'm the youngest,
- 34:08Speaker 2: I'm the best, then we're all good. Otherwise I hate you.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, what do you think?
- 34:16Speaker 2: CJ?
- 34:17Speaker 4: No, that that's pretty accurate. I mean, you know, it's funny.
- 34:20Speaker 5: I listen, I'm not gonna especially come on your show
- 34:23Speaker 5: and shit on on the Golden Girls, but like I'm
- 34:25Speaker 5: definitely watching back and and like Sophia for all her
- 34:31Speaker 5: equips might be the nicest one in the room because
- 34:33Speaker 5: like Roast is just too out there to get it,
- 34:36Speaker 5: do you know what I mean? And then the other
- 34:39Speaker 5: two are just mean, Like I'm not sure. I think
- 34:41Speaker 5: it's a coin flip who's the worst that each Like
- 34:44Speaker 5: if I ran to a string of episodes, I think
- 34:46Speaker 5: it would literally be a coin flip on which one
- 34:48Speaker 5: one was worse that week.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fair Blanche, because Blanche's air of superiority.
- 34:55Speaker 5: Yeah, no, more times than not, You're probably I'm not
- 34:58Speaker 5: gonna lie, but you know know, all jokes aside, though,
- 35:01Speaker 5: I think that that kind of thing and to your
- 35:03Speaker 5: point about Susan Harris and her writing gena, because you've
- 35:05Speaker 5: talked about it since I've been here at least, is
- 35:08Speaker 5: that's what makes it good, you know what I mean?
- 35:09Speaker 5: Like you have you need that, you need that. It's
- 35:13Speaker 5: really what makes the show entertaining. All jokes aside, there
- 35:16Speaker 5: is some cringe moments. I think you know with words
- 35:18Speaker 5: that you mentioned that.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Some stuff doesn't hold up.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Yeah, but and and I would say that this is
- 35:24Speaker 5: one of the shows that doesn't hold up as well
- 35:25Speaker 5: in that regard, you know what I mean. Like, I'm
- 35:28Speaker 5: not saying the show is a whole doesn't hold up,
- 35:29Speaker 5: but in those moments.
- 35:31Speaker 2: In those things, yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Yeah, but oh yeah, it's it was a it was
- 35:35Speaker 5: an interesting, uh interesting episode to watch. I but you know,
- 35:40Speaker 5: like you said, Backdoor Pilot last week and this one
- 35:43Speaker 5: this week is interesting.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Sorry again, bring you back for some fun episodes.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a one two punch off.
