- 0:01Speaker 1: Live on Sky News. This is Sharry.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Good Evening. Tonight our exclusive interview with the Israeli at
- 0:11Speaker 2: the center of the shocking video when nurses threatened to
- 0:15Speaker 2: kill him. Max Viefer would join me live in his
- 0:19Speaker 2: first interview. Plus New South Illes Health Minister Ryan Park
- 0:23Speaker 2: will be on the show with his reaction to these
- 0:27Speaker 2: vile anti Semites, and journalist Leah Mendes will be here
- 0:31Speaker 2: to talk about how his phone was snatched and he
- 0:35Speaker 2: was abused by the female nurse's family when he tried
- 0:39Speaker 2: to get a comment. Full coverage here tonight on this
- 0:42Speaker 2: scandal at Bangstown Hospital. Also tonight, Defact criticized for spending
- 0:47Speaker 2: one hundred thousand dollars on welcome to country ceremonies. Shadow
- 0:51Speaker 2: Foreign Affairs Minister David Coleman wants this to change and
- 0:55Speaker 2: he'll be on a bit later. Plus, after their cozy
- 0:59Speaker 2: cocktail party with the Prime Minister, the teals now need
- 1:02Speaker 2: to come out and say who'd they support in the
- 1:05Speaker 2: case of a hung parliament. Michael Kroger and Graham Richardson
- 1:09Speaker 2: will discuss shortly, but first let's start with the video
- 1:14Speaker 2: that shocked and appawed us all today. Two nurses in
- 1:18Speaker 2: a major New South Wales public hospital boasting about killing
- 1:23Speaker 2: Israeli patients. The two nurses were stood down from Bangstown
- 1:28Speaker 2: Hospital today, with Health Minister Ryan Park who's coming up,
- 1:32Speaker 2: vowing the disgusting pair will never work in the health
- 1:36Speaker 2: system again. But let's first name and shame them. This
- 1:41Speaker 2: is Ahmed Russhed Nadea. The Telegraph reports that he was
- 1:45Speaker 2: born in Afghanistan and became an Australian citizen just four
- 1:50Speaker 2: years ago after immigrating when he was twelve. He's been
- 1:55Speaker 2: treating patients in Western Sydney since twenty eighteen. His brother
- 2:01Speaker 2: is a paramedic with New South Wales Ambulance Service. And
- 2:05Speaker 2: this nurse is Sarah Abu Lebde. She's twenty six. Now
- 2:11Speaker 2: here's what the male nurse said he'd already done to
- 2:16Speaker 2: Israeli patients.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Okay, you have no idea how many Israeli had a
- 2:22Speaker 3: dog came to this hospital and Jehanna.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Jehanna. So to be very clear, he's saying they would
- 2:33Speaker 2: kill and they've already killed Israeli patients. And they seemed
- 2:37Speaker 2: pretty defiant and proud about it. They were boasting and
- 2:41Speaker 2: insistent that they'd do it again. Here's what the nurse said,
- 2:45Speaker 2: they do if in Israeli came into their hospital.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Let's say an Israeli, God forbid them.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I went treat them, aw kill them.
- 2:55Speaker 4: You'll kill them. So if an Israeli is in Australia
- 2:58Speaker 4: and that's will be something happened to him and he
- 3:01Speaker 4: comes to your hospital.
- 3:04Speaker 2: This is Jihadi language. It's utterly un Australian. And the
- 3:10Speaker 2: female nurse, Sarah wished Max Weifer the Israeli they were
- 3:14Speaker 2: speaking with a horrible death.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I'm so upset that Israeli, Like, eventually you're gonna get
- 3:21Speaker 3: killed and you're gonna go to Jhanda. You think it's
- 3:23Speaker 3: pretty iest that should say in this in this world
- 3:26Speaker 3: for longer.
- 3:27Speaker 4: What do you think? Why do you think I'm going
- 3:28Speaker 4: to get killed?
- 3:29Speaker 2: It's Palistin's country, not.
- 3:33Speaker 3: One day, one day.
- 3:35Speaker 5: One day, time will come and you will.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Die the most.
- 3:43Speaker 6: We spread this intimate and when your time comes.
- 3:49Speaker 3: How are you doctors?
- 3:51Speaker 6: I want you to remember.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I have okay, okay.
- 3:55Speaker 4: You will. I have a question though.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And by the way, just minutes before I came on
- 4:01Speaker 2: air tonight, I spoke to Max on the phone making
- 4:03Speaker 2: sure he was ready for our interview, and he told
- 4:06Speaker 2: me Instagram has pulled down the video from his Instagram page.
- 4:11Speaker 2: He's exposing anti Semitism, not promoting it. It's disgraceful. Now,
- 4:16Speaker 2: the Health Minister, Ryan Park, couldn't have been stronger. He'll
- 4:21Speaker 2: be here in a moment. He said, these two nurses
- 4:24Speaker 2: won't ever work in New South El's health again.
- 4:28Speaker 1: These two individuals in no way are healthcare professionals. They
- 4:34Speaker 1: are disgusting individuals and we will do everything we can
- 4:40Speaker 1: to make sure that not only is this issue investigated,
- 4:45Speaker 1: which is one issue. I don't want to give these
- 4:49Speaker 1: two a sciric of light, a sceric of light to
- 4:54Speaker 1: be able to somehow weasel their way back into New
- 4:57Speaker 1: South Wales Health.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Now. Police visited Bangstown Hospital today and there are now
- 5:03Speaker 2: investigations as well into how past patients were treated. And
- 5:09Speaker 2: we absolutely categorically need to know if what those nurses
- 5:13Speaker 2: said is true, if they've ever killed Jewish Israeli patients.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I can't believe I'm even saying those words. It's insane.
- 5:22Speaker 2: New South Wales Health need to do a thorough investigation
- 5:25Speaker 2: here and the Minister needs to stay on top of it.
- 5:28Speaker 2: We also need to know if this GHRDI attitude is
- 5:32Speaker 2: limited to this pair in Bangstown Hospital or if it's
- 5:36Speaker 2: spread throughout the hospital and the health system. Because if
- 5:40Speaker 2: they felt comfortable speaking in that way in the middle
- 5:44Speaker 2: of a busy public hospital, well it makes you wonder
- 5:48Speaker 2: whether that view is normal and socially acceptable in that workplace.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So this all needs to be part of the investigation,
- 5:56Speaker 2: along with questioning of their supervisor. Did their supervisor know
- 6:01Speaker 2: that the pair felt this way? Now, if this behavior
- 6:05Speaker 2: wasn't caught on camera, then we would know nothing about it,
- 6:09Speaker 2: and that's our fear. We suspect that this sentiment is
- 6:13Speaker 2: out there, but we just don't usually have the evidence.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And look at how one family member and the friends
- 6:22Speaker 2: of the female nurse, Sarah reacted when my friend journalist
- 6:26Speaker 2: at The Australian, Leah Mendes, went to visit her house today.
- 6:31Speaker 2: He went just looking for comment to this big story.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It's been the biggest news story of the day. He
- 6:36Speaker 2: was very polite, he was on public property, and yet
- 6:39Speaker 2: a woman screamed at him to leave, and then another
- 6:42Speaker 2: man stole his phone and a third man intimidated him.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Have a look, now, why are you.
- 6:53Speaker 7: Say about the allegation tell me I still walking towards
- 7:00Speaker 7: the faith. Nate mat mat this, Okay, I need my
- 7:06Speaker 7: phone back.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And Liam actually couldn't get his phone back for quite
- 7:11Speaker 2: a while. It wasn't a very quick return there. I've
- 7:14Speaker 2: seen the full video and Liam Mendes is going to
- 7:17Speaker 2: be on the show a bit later now. I made
- 7:20Speaker 2: Noda was a little bit more apologetic only after he
- 7:24Speaker 2: was publicly shamed, and he told Liam that this was
- 7:27Speaker 2: a joke and a misunderstanding, adding he didn't mean to offend. Well,
- 7:33Speaker 2: I find this difficult to stomach. A joke, what's funny
- 7:38Speaker 2: about killing Jewish israelis a misunderstanding. I think it's perfectly
- 7:43Speaker 2: clear from the video. You've seen what Nadea and Lebde
- 7:47Speaker 2: mean and what they stand for. There's been no misunderstanding here.
- 7:53Speaker 2: So let's have a look at how all of this
- 7:55Speaker 2: unfolded and where this video came from. Max Viifa is
- 7:59Speaker 2: in his le content creator. He was on a video
- 8:03Speaker 2: chat site an app, and he records the chats and
- 8:07Speaker 2: he's caught plenty of anti Semitism because when people find
- 8:10Speaker 2: out that they're speaking within Israeli they say some pretty
- 8:13Speaker 2: horrific things. Now, Hollywood actor Nate Buzz saw this video
- 8:19Speaker 2: overnight and he sent it to me at six point
- 8:21Speaker 2: thirty this morning. He then connected me with Max and
- 8:24Speaker 2: I was able to verify the video and understand the
- 8:28Speaker 2: circumstances in which it was taken. I then texted it
- 8:32Speaker 2: directly to the new South Iales Health Minister, Ryan Park
- 8:35Speaker 2: at seven twenty am. He hadn't seen it. He told
- 8:40Speaker 2: me he would deal with it personally and he immediately
- 8:43Speaker 2: found it shocking and appalling and as I said, his
- 8:47Speaker 2: reaction today couldn't have been stronger and we can't applaud
- 8:50Speaker 2: him enough.
- 8:52Speaker 1: At about seven twenty this morning, I was informed and
- 8:57Speaker 1: made aware of one of the most fire shocking and
- 9:01Speaker 1: appalling videos I have ever seen to individual healthcare workers
- 9:08Speaker 1: behaving in a way that I never thought I would
- 9:13Speaker 1: see representing one of our new South Wales hospitals. I
- 9:17Speaker 1: as the new South Wales Health Minister and Susan as
- 9:20Speaker 1: the Secretary. I am so very sorry that you're having
- 9:25Speaker 1: to deal with this. I'm assure the Jewish community today
- 9:29Speaker 1: that they have my utmost sorrow, but more importantly, my
- 9:35Speaker 1: utmost energy, dedication and time along with the Secretary to
- 9:40Speaker 1: reassure them that our hospitals will continue to provide them
- 9:45Speaker 1: high quality, safe care every time and any time they present.
- 9:52Speaker 2: The Minister acted swiftly. He called an investigation, his team
- 9:56Speaker 2: spoke to the Police Commissioner and made it clear that
- 9:59Speaker 2: the Joe's pair will never step foot in a public
- 10:02Speaker 2: hospital again as you hurt. But in my view it
- 10:05Speaker 2: needs to go further than that. Oprah, the regulator need
- 10:10Speaker 2: to make sure that this pair lose the nursing registration.
- 10:14Speaker 2: They should never ever be able to be in a
- 10:17Speaker 2: position to give treatment to anyone in or out of
- 10:20Speaker 2: the New South Wales Health System. And by the way,
- 10:23Speaker 2: the Health Secretary was equally as strong and unequivocal in
- 10:27Speaker 2: her condemnation as well, and she even was quite emotional
- 10:31Speaker 2: at the start of the press conference.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I
- 10:38Speaker 6: would be standing here with two staff of the New
- 10:41Speaker 6: South Wales Health System having said such horrendous things about
- 10:47Speaker 6: our community, and particularly to our Jewish community. I offer
- 10:52Speaker 6: my sincere apologies and confirmation as the Minister has said
- 10:57Speaker 6: that we will fulsomely and thoroughly investigate this.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Now. Something Ryan Parks said publicly today really struck me.
- 11:07Speaker 2: He said he wished these people weren't in our society
- 11:10Speaker 2: at all. We never hear that language from Alban Ezy
- 11:14Speaker 2: or Penny Wong. It was so strong and so true.
- 11:18Speaker 2: This kind of hatred and blatant racism just doesn't belong
- 11:22Speaker 2: in Australia.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Well, I'd say that they are vile, disgusting and deranged
- 11:29Speaker 1: individuals who have a view that does not reflect their
- 11:33Speaker 1: colleagues view, does not reflect the health or hospital system
- 11:37Speaker 1: that they're part OF's view does not reflect their community's view,
- 11:41Speaker 1: and their view is not welcome and will not be
- 11:44Speaker 1: welcome ever again in New South Wales Health as an employee.
- 11:50Speaker 2: The fact that we're so surprised to hear this language
- 11:54Speaker 2: is a reflection on how weak our federal political leadership
- 11:57Speaker 2: has been to feel gratitude when politicians do the right
- 12:01Speaker 2: thing by simply saying they don't want racist grubs in
- 12:04Speaker 2: our society. I mean, it should be a given. We
- 12:08Speaker 2: shouldn't have to feel gratitude for this. But what we
- 12:11Speaker 2: see in this video is the sort of racism and
- 12:14Speaker 2: hatred and murderous language that we know exists, but like
- 12:19Speaker 2: I said, so rare to get it on camera. We
- 12:22Speaker 2: hear people on the street chanting all Zionists and terrorists,
- 12:27Speaker 2: and then you wonder where they work and what they
- 12:30Speaker 2: would do if they came face to face with a Jew.
- 12:34Speaker 2: You might go into hospital for a procedure, and as
- 12:37Speaker 2: you're about to go under the general anesthetic, you hope
- 12:40Speaker 2: that the person treating you, or any of the nursing
- 12:43Speaker 2: staff that you hope that they don't hate Jews, and
- 12:46Speaker 2: you wonder whether they can tell that you're Jewish. Now,
- 12:50Speaker 2: this is how many of us felt before this video today,
- 12:54Speaker 2: and now those concerns will be even more real now.
- 12:59Speaker 2: This was so the very first issue raised by the
- 13:02Speaker 2: Coalition in Federal Parliament today. Julian Lisa, who was on
- 13:06Speaker 2: the show last night, he opened Parliamentary question Time with
- 13:10Speaker 2: this serious question, Prime Minister.
- 13:14Speaker 8: For the last fifteen months, Jewish Australians have been subjected
- 13:17Speaker 8: to harassment, doxing, fire bombing, death threats and terror plots.
- 13:22Speaker 8: Today we've seen revelations of New South Wales health workers
- 13:25Speaker 8: calling for Israeli patients to be refused treatment and claiming
- 13:28Speaker 8: to have murdered Israelis under their care. Prime Minister, the
- 13:31Speaker 8: Australian Jewish community is living in fear. How did the
- 13:34Speaker 8: country get to this point.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Now. The Prime Minister then condemned it with his usual
- 13:41Speaker 2: language where he says, with no real feeling or passion,
- 13:45Speaker 2: that this type of anti Semitism has no place in
- 13:48Speaker 2: our country.
- 13:51Speaker 9: These any Semitic comments have no place, certainly in our
- 13:55Speaker 9: health system, but no place anywhere else in Australia either
- 13:59Speaker 9: overwhelmed people in our health system, our nurses, our doctors,
- 14:05Speaker 9: our orderlies. They go into the health system because they
- 14:08Speaker 9: care about their fellow Australians, they fellow humans.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And then he got into the weeds talking about what
- 14:17Speaker 2: sort of video app this was. I mean, compare his
- 14:20Speaker 2: weak response with the strong, passionate words of the Health
- 14:24Speaker 2: Minister in New South Wales and you really get a
- 14:27Speaker 2: sense of just how weak the Prime Minister is. He
- 14:31Speaker 2: finds it much easier speaking out against neo Nazis than
- 14:36Speaker 2: against Islamic extremism, when both pose the most serious threat
- 14:42Speaker 2: to the Jewish community and the Australian way of life. Okay,
- 14:50Speaker 2: for more on this, And as you know, I've got
- 14:52Speaker 2: Max Weifer, the Israeli at the center of the video.
- 14:55Speaker 2: He's coming up, plus Lea Mendis and the Health Minister.
- 14:58Speaker 2: But now let's bring in form a big Torrian Liberal
- 15:00Speaker 2: Party president Michael Kroger and former Labor Minister Gray and Richardson.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Welcome to you both. Michael, can you believe what Australia
- 15:08Speaker 2: has come to that there's now going to be a
- 15:10Speaker 2: serious investigation into where the Jewish patients have actually been
- 15:15Speaker 2: killed at Bankstown Hospital.
- 15:18Speaker 10: I just saw an email from someone who was going
- 15:21Speaker 10: to have an operation there. A Jewish man have an
- 15:23Speaker 10: operation there a few years ago under the Liberal government,
- 15:25Speaker 10: by the way, not under Men's. He canceled his operation
- 15:28Speaker 10: at Bankstown Hospital because a friend of his who worked
- 15:31Speaker 10: at the hospital said, if a Jewish don't come here,
- 15:35Speaker 10: they spit on the food of the Jews before it's delivered.
- 15:39Speaker 10: They don't do mandatory post ops. They leave their beds
- 15:42Speaker 10: soiled for as long as they possibly can. They make
- 15:45Speaker 10: life as difficult as possible for Jewish patients. So he said,
- 15:49Speaker 10: I canceled my operation of the hospital because of that.
- 15:52Speaker 10: That now has I said, that's before Men's. This has
- 15:55Speaker 10: been going on at this hospital, this Jewish hatred for years,
- 16:00Speaker 10: and now at a point in this country, nobody's listening
- 16:03Speaker 10: to albou If I hear him say one more time.
- 16:05Speaker 10: There's no place for any Semitism in this country, Albo.
- 16:07Speaker 10: No one is listening to you. Nobody, zilch nobody. Malcolm
- 16:12Speaker 10: Turnbull called a Royal commission Shari into the Dondale Youth
- 16:16Speaker 10: Detention Center in twenty sixteen in the Northern Territory, a
- 16:19Speaker 10: smaller issue than the nationwide outbreak of Jewish hatred will have.
- 16:24Speaker 10: If Alberanizi had any any ounce of decency, any sense
- 16:29Speaker 10: of decency, any sense of concern for Jewish Australians, he
- 16:33Speaker 10: would immediately call a royal commission into antisemitism in this country,
- 16:38Speaker 10: not a royal commission into all religious hatred. By the way,
- 16:43Speaker 10: let's look out of that. Anti Semitisms levels we've never
- 16:46Speaker 10: seen before in my life and I'm getting older. That's
- 16:51Speaker 10: what's needed in this country. A royal commission into anti Semitism.
- 16:54Speaker 10: He needs to do it urgently because things are getting
- 16:57Speaker 10: worse than this country Shari, not better, not better. And
- 17:00Speaker 10: as you say, another pathetic response from him today, Thank
- 17:04Speaker 10: goodness of people like Ryan Park, the new South Wales
- 17:06Speaker 10: Labor Health Minister. Big tick for you, mister Park, for
- 17:09Speaker 10: having the guts and courage to say what you did
- 17:12Speaker 10: good on you, mate.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I mean you talk about all forms of racism. You
- 17:16Speaker 2: know the statement that was put out today by the
- 17:18Speaker 2: Nurses Union, the Nurses and Midwives Union, their very first
- 17:23Speaker 2: sentence was that they condemn all forms of racism, bigotry
- 17:27Speaker 2: and hatred, including acts of anti Semitism and Islamophobia. That's
- 17:33Speaker 2: the Nurses Union today. I mean, it's just not a
- 17:36Speaker 2: we're witnessing, Richo. You know a lot of people have
- 17:40Speaker 2: thought because initially there was this global wave of protests,
- 17:44Speaker 2: but now the fact is that Australia is worse than
- 17:49Speaker 2: perhaps almost anywhere else in the world. But you know,
- 17:51Speaker 2: maybe parts of Europe are worse, Paris and London, but
- 17:55Speaker 2: Australia is right up there, and other countries have got
- 18:00Speaker 2: to handle on antisemitism better, rich O. This has to
- 18:03Speaker 2: come down to federal leadership, doesn't it.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Well.
- 18:06Speaker 11: I certainly think federal leadership is an element here that
- 18:11Speaker 11: has not been exercised properly. I'm frankly just appalled, flatberg acids, stunned,
- 18:20Speaker 11: and I'm sad just said that in my country, I've
- 18:24Speaker 11: got to share a land with grubs like we are
- 18:28Speaker 11: seeing at the moment.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I agree with you, and sad is the right word
- 18:33Speaker 2: for it for all of Australia. Now, just on this topic,
- 18:37Speaker 2: antisemitism at Sydney's Macquarie University has got so bad. And
- 18:41Speaker 2: this is the front page of the Daily Telegraph today
- 18:43Speaker 2: by the way, also in the Herald Sign. But look
- 18:45Speaker 2: at it front page. UNI's Panic Room. They've opened up
- 18:49Speaker 2: a high security safe room for Jewish students. So I mean,
- 18:54Speaker 2: Michael again, instead of banning the protests or expelling students
- 18:59Speaker 2: who act in an anti Semitic way, you know that
- 19:03Speaker 2: they're creating a punic room. Shouldn't the entire campus be safe,
- 19:07Speaker 2: not just a single room, Michael Kroger, No.
- 19:10Speaker 10: It's better just you just better have a little single
- 19:13Speaker 10: room for the Jews to feel safe. What an absolute face,
- 19:17Speaker 10: But Shari, these university vice chancellors like Mark Scott, the
- 19:22Speaker 10: fellow at Melbourne University, Mascal whatever his name is. At
- 19:25Speaker 10: the A and U, these people are still in their
- 19:26Speaker 10: million dollar jobs. These people should have all been sacked
- 19:30Speaker 10: by the university councils. You know, I've called on Julie
- 19:33Speaker 10: bis Bishop before to take action at the A and U.
- 19:36Speaker 10: This is not party political, this is all you know,
- 19:39Speaker 10: A lot of this was to do with what's happening
- 19:41Speaker 10: at universities and to have to open a safe for
- 19:45Speaker 10: a meta university in Australia to protect yous, I mean, Albow.
- 19:50Speaker 10: You've got to call a royal commission into Jewish hatred, which,
- 19:54Speaker 10: which has which has got, which was started and has
- 19:57Speaker 10: got worse under his watch, and from the Opera House onwards,
- 20:02Speaker 10: this federal government has basically licensed a lot of these
- 20:07Speaker 10: extremists by all of the acts that all of those
- 20:10Speaker 10: small acts that they've done one by one to dog
- 20:13Speaker 10: whistle to the extremists that it's all right to oppose
- 20:17Speaker 10: israel I e subtext Jews right, Oh it's all again
- 20:21Speaker 10: Zionist or Israel No, No, it's Jews right and Alban easy.
- 20:26Speaker 10: In great contrast to Min's and this fellow park today,
- 20:31Speaker 10: what a disgrace, Albo has been. The Only thing you
- 20:33Speaker 10: can do to show if you've got any sense of
- 20:35Speaker 10: decency is to call a royal commission tomorrow.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Shari, Well, I think we should put that idea on
- 20:40Speaker 2: the table at our anti Semitism summit, which I know
- 20:43Speaker 2: you're coming to next week. Michael Krogan Rich, Oh, oh
- 20:45Speaker 2: there you're of course we invited as well. Look Max
- 20:49Speaker 2: VI for the Israeli in that video, he's just moments away.
- 20:52Speaker 2: So I just want to get to another couple of
- 20:54Speaker 2: topics before we bring him in. Richo. The Prime Minister
- 20:58Speaker 2: clearly worried about his chances at the federal election because
- 21:01Speaker 2: he's now running a charm offensive with the Teals. He
- 21:04Speaker 2: had them over to the lodge for cocktails. Here's what
- 21:07Speaker 2: they said outside.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Doctor Ryan, what do you hope to discuss tonight with
- 21:11Speaker 3: the Prime Minister?
- 21:13Speaker 6: Future plans bring you a community independent is something new?
- 21:17Speaker 6: So I think it's just you know, applauding that.
- 21:21Speaker 2: But I think us being here tonight actually just shows
- 21:23Speaker 2: that we have respect for the process. Now, you don't
- 21:26Speaker 2: say no to the Prime Minister. It's a respectful invitation
- 21:29Speaker 2: and may mob. We're low late, rich O, you know
- 21:33Speaker 2: what is going on here? And don't you think that
- 21:37Speaker 2: people who are living in electorates where there are TiAl
- 21:39Speaker 2: and peace, they need to know which way the Teals
- 21:42Speaker 2: are going to vote if there's a hung parliament.
- 21:46Speaker 11: Well, and I don't think the Teals know how are
- 21:49Speaker 11: they going to vote? You've got to remember that this
- 21:52Speaker 11: is very loose organization. It's not exactly a party with
- 21:56Speaker 11: a proper constitution and rules and everything else. He's a
- 22:01Speaker 11: pretty ragtag mob.
- 22:03Speaker 7: Who knows what they're going to do.
- 22:04Speaker 11: If they don't know, how the hell are we going
- 22:06Speaker 11: to know?
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they probably have a fair idea my core.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I mean, they're running in liberal seats. All of their
- 22:14Speaker 2: language is in opposition to the Liberals. We know they're
- 22:18Speaker 2: voting record that's been in the news the past couple
- 22:20Speaker 2: of weeks. You know, what do you think?
- 22:25Speaker 10: I tend to think the Teals are in trouble ellectorally.
- 22:27Speaker 10: The margins in Victoria, at least in Goldston and Kyon
- 22:30Speaker 10: are narrow. Don't forget eighty percent of Teal voters were
- 22:34Speaker 10: labor voters before they voted Teal. The labor votes collapsed,
- 22:37Speaker 10: primary votes collapsed in Victoria, and it's collapsing in New
- 22:39Speaker 10: South Wales. The Teals represent a lot of areas where
- 22:43Speaker 10: they are Jewish voters. By the way, for example, Goldstein,
- 22:46Speaker 10: where Zoey Daniel couldn't wait to sign the unrefunding letter
- 22:50Speaker 10: restoration of unrefunding letter as did other Teals. I think
- 22:54Speaker 10: modernk Ryan signed it as well, So I think they
- 22:57Speaker 10: tend to be in they're intending to be in trouble,
- 23:00Speaker 10: and of course Albos has to try and win them
- 23:02Speaker 10: over because he may need them. Although I think the
- 23:05Speaker 10: way things are going not even the tools will be
- 23:08Speaker 10: able to save elbow.
- 23:10Speaker 2: All right, rich oh, Michael Kroagai and cut this just
- 23:13Speaker 2: a tiny bit shot today because we're going to get
- 23:15Speaker 2: to Max Viva now in Israel. Thank you so much,
- 23:18Speaker 2: always so wise. Great to have you one. All right,
- 23:22Speaker 2: I'm joined now by the Israeli content creator, Max Viva,
- 23:25Speaker 2: who's at the center of this video that has blown
- 23:29Speaker 2: up and made the news today. Max, Welcome to the show.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Welcome, hey everyone, thank you for having me here.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you for being here. You've had a
- 23:40Speaker 2: million media requests and this is your exclusive interview, so
- 23:43Speaker 2: really appreciate it. Max. Let's start by replaying a little
- 23:46Speaker 2: bit of that video. Let's have a look. I won't
- 23:52Speaker 2: freak them up, kill them.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I have a question though, Okay, you have no idea
- 23:57Speaker 3: how many Israeli dog came to this hospital, and I've
- 24:01Speaker 3: been at the Jahanna.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Max. I want to start by saying, I'm so sorry
- 24:07Speaker 2: that this has happened to you. Most Australians are not
- 24:11Speaker 2: like this. Most Australians stand with you and stand with
- 24:15Speaker 2: your people and stand with Israel, and have done so,
- 24:18Speaker 2: especially since October seven. Thank you. You didn't deserve this,
- 24:22Speaker 2: look Ken, Thank you.
- 24:23Speaker 4: You know it's been a dream of mine actually to
- 24:26Speaker 4: come visit Australia and hope one day actually I'll come
- 24:29Speaker 4: to Australia.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Come come, We'd love to have you. But can you
- 24:32Speaker 2: start by telling us how this video happened last night overnight.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I understand last night, so as you know, I create
- 24:42Speaker 4: content on Amigo where I expose people, where I talk
- 24:45Speaker 4: with other with different people from all over the world,
- 24:49Speaker 4: and last night I was talking with these two doctors,
- 24:52Speaker 4: two nurses. Turns out their nurses, not even doctors. As
- 24:57Speaker 4: soon as they found out that I'm from Israel, the
- 25:00Speaker 4: started cursing me and threatening me that they're gonna kill me,
- 25:03Speaker 4: that they're never gonna treat Israeli patients at their hospitals.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I was shocked. It's it's insane that so far away
- 25:12Speaker 4: in Australia the hate has gone so far, Like is
- 25:16Speaker 4: there a country far is then Australia like to Israel,
- 25:20Speaker 4: it's so far and the the the raising anti Semitism
- 25:25Speaker 4: is just growing and growing in Australia and it's crazy.
- 25:31Speaker 4: I know, it's I was shocked, but I had a
- 25:33Speaker 4: mission to accomplish, you know, I had to expose them,
- 25:35Speaker 4: so I had to to stay calm and and and
- 25:39Speaker 4: get as much info as I can so I can
- 25:42Speaker 4: post it and show my people and we can find them,
- 25:45Speaker 4: you know.
- 25:46Speaker 2: And that was so impressive, just how came you were
- 25:49Speaker 2: as they were threatening you. As the one nurse who
- 25:53Speaker 2: has been identified today, her name is Sarah, you know,
- 25:57Speaker 2: she's been named and shamed across all of the media.
- 26:00Speaker 2: You know, she said to you that she wishes that
- 26:02Speaker 2: you would have a horrible death, and Max, you thought
- 26:05Speaker 2: to ask her what happens? And if an Israeli comes
- 26:09Speaker 2: into your hospital and they said they wouldn't treat them,
- 26:13Speaker 2: they'd kill the Israeli. I mean, what what was your reaction?
- 26:17Speaker 4: They don't kill the Israelies and they killed the Israelies.
- 26:21Speaker 4: So I think they should launch another investigation, you know,
- 26:25Speaker 4: to look up if they've done anything, you know, in
- 26:27Speaker 4: the past, because the way they were talking is just
- 26:31Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, I exposed to nurses, but
- 26:33Speaker 4: how many else are there, you know, like you got
- 26:37Speaker 4: to look into the stuff, you know, run check round
- 26:42Speaker 4: like yes, check everyone, and always say it's just I
- 26:46Speaker 4: don't know, it's just concerning. It's concerning me that it's
- 26:50Speaker 4: like I'm talking with people from from Australia and.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It's shocking, Jucky and you probably don't know this, but
- 27:02Speaker 2: the Health Minister did come out today and he said
- 27:04Speaker 2: they would have an investigation into how past patients at
- 27:08Speaker 2: Bangstown Hospital were treated. Those two are actually nurses, not doctors,
- 27:14Speaker 2: not that that makes a difference. You know, health professionals
- 27:18Speaker 2: within the New Southwest public Health system. They have been sacked.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Even the Prime Minister spoke about this in question time today.
- 27:24Speaker 2: So Maxis has been taken very seriously what you've managed
- 27:28Speaker 2: to expose. You know, a lot of us in Australia
- 27:31Speaker 2: we know this anti Semitism exists. There's been a crime
- 27:33Speaker 2: wave here, We've had a preschool fire bomb, we've had
- 27:37Speaker 2: a synagogue burnt down, cars are being torched, but it's
- 27:41Speaker 2: very rare that you actually get someone in a professional
- 27:45Speaker 2: environment on camera. So it's made such a big impact today.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Have you, as an Israeli been surprised at this level
- 27:54Speaker 2: of anti Semitism in Australia and around the world look sad.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Anti Semitism, unfortunately, is growing and growing ever since the
- 28:05Speaker 4: war started two years ago. It's just it has grown tremendously.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Like everyone hates me on that, but seeing doctors, seeing nurses,
- 28:17Speaker 4: seeing medical stuff that's supposed to treat people, everyone that's
- 28:23Speaker 4: supposed to take care of people, seeing them saying these
- 28:27Speaker 4: things just made me. Yeah, made me sad and made
- 28:30Speaker 4: me you know, I don't know who I can trust anymore.
- 28:32Speaker 4: You know, if God forbid them in a hospital anywhere, Like,
- 28:36Speaker 4: can I trust them? Can I like, if I go
- 28:39Speaker 4: on there anesthesia? Can I trust these doctors? Should I
- 28:42Speaker 4: ask them? Should I tell them I'm from Israel?
- 28:45Speaker 6: Like?
- 28:45Speaker 4: Is it going to make a difference?
- 28:47Speaker 2: Yeah? And those are the questions not just Israelis, but
- 28:51Speaker 2: Jewish Australians will be asking now as well. Now, Max,
- 28:55Speaker 2: Instagram has now taken down your video expose using this
- 29:01Speaker 2: What was that reason for removing it?
- 29:07Speaker 4: I didn't go into details, actually, but you know it's
- 29:11Speaker 4: their algorithm is probably AI generated and I actually issued
- 29:14Speaker 4: an appeal and hopefully they'll restore the video. I think
- 29:18Speaker 4: they said something harassment and threats, probably because they were
- 29:22Speaker 4: threatening me and Instagram took it down. I hope they'll
- 29:27Speaker 4: like restore the video shortly, maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe
- 29:31Speaker 4: I'll re upload it again.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you definitely.
- 29:38Speaker 4: I hope the mission has accomplished.
- 29:41Speaker 2: We got them exactly. I'm sure this has had a
- 29:44Speaker 2: big impact on any of your exposes so far.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Just finally, I want to thank everyone.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, finally, Max, what's your message to the Prime Minister
- 29:53Speaker 2: of Australia given this level of anti semitism you have
- 29:57Speaker 2: now witnessed and brought to the surface.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Well, I hope, I hope, I kind of. I hope
- 30:05Speaker 4: I opened their eyes a little bit, uh to this
- 30:10Speaker 4: tremendous anti Semitism that is going on in their country,
- 30:14Speaker 4: in Australia, And I hope they're they'll finally start taking
- 30:19Speaker 4: actions and to prevent uh, these these events from happening.
- 30:25Speaker 4: And because you know, it's not the only case. I
- 30:29Speaker 4: just recorded it, right and I dropped it on the internet.
- 30:33Speaker 4: But how many other cases are happening in Australia. How
- 30:37Speaker 4: many other events synagogues that that are I don't know,
- 30:44Speaker 4: burned down and different things that that are happening. You
- 30:49Speaker 4: should take this seriously and not you should just take
- 30:55Speaker 4: this seriously. I have no other words. I mean, we
- 30:59Speaker 4: do people were We want to live peacefully with everyone
- 31:04Speaker 4: and we Israelitis. We don't want to like go to
- 31:08Speaker 4: hospitals or to different countries and experience this hate for
- 31:13Speaker 4: no reason. So a country should take care of it,
- 31:17Speaker 4: you know, put some budget into into investigating these things.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Put some budget into fighting anti semitism, you know, change
- 31:28Speaker 4: these things. We're hoping for a better world, for a
- 31:31Speaker 4: better Australia.
- 31:32Speaker 2: One hundred percent. That's all Jewish Australians want as well.
- 31:36Speaker 2: We just want to live in peace as we always
- 31:38Speaker 2: have done before. This truly unprecedented in Australia. It is unprecedented,
- 31:44Speaker 2: unprecedented rise in anti Semitism that you have played such
- 31:48Speaker 2: a big role in exposing Max. It was there, You've
- 31:51Speaker 2: brought it to the surface and our country will be
- 31:54Speaker 2: just a little bit safer tonight without those nurses working
- 31:57Speaker 2: at backs Down Hospital. Thank you, Thank you.
- 32:00Speaker 4: I want to thank you everyone. I want to thank
- 32:01Speaker 4: you everyone, the Jewish community, my Christian friends, everyone who
- 32:06Speaker 4: has helped us to bring this story, to find them,
- 32:10Speaker 4: to fire them, and it's just I mean it show
- 32:15Speaker 4: us that we can unite sometimes against evil.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Indeed, indeed it does Max. Thank you very much for
- 32:22Speaker 2: joining us, and stay safe. Thank you all right. Well
- 32:26Speaker 2: still to come after the break the eyewatering amount of
- 32:29Speaker 2: money spent on welcome to country ceremonies. David Coleman will
- 32:32Speaker 2: join me, plus the journalist who was abused by one
- 32:35Speaker 2: of the nurses family members, he'll join me, Life, welcome back. Well,
- 32:43Speaker 2: still to come, the new South Wales Health Minister and
- 32:46Speaker 2: Liam Mendes. But first let's have a look at this
- 32:49Speaker 2: story in the Daily Telegraph today. The defact spent one
- 32:52Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars on welcome to country ceremonies over the
- 32:56Speaker 2: two years to July twenty twenty four, and two examples
- 33:00Speaker 2: of this were six six hundred dollars on a smoking
- 33:04Speaker 2: and welcome to country ceremony in October twenty twenty three,
- 33:08Speaker 2: and then five and a half thousand dollars on a
- 33:10Speaker 2: welcome to country in March twenty twenty three for a
- 33:13Speaker 2: delegation from Malaysia. Shadow Foreign Afairs Minister David Coleman joins me. Now, David,
- 33:19Speaker 2: thanks for your time. Will these ceremonies be a focus
- 33:23Speaker 2: for the coalition if you win government.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Well, yeah, Shari, I mean we've got to spend every
- 33:29Speaker 5: cent carefully. We are in a cost of living crisis
- 33:34Speaker 5: the making of the Albanese government. And for ordinary Australians
- 33:39Speaker 5: to see six figure amount spent just within one department,
- 33:43Speaker 5: within Defat on these ceremonies, most people would say that's
- 33:48Speaker 5: far too much. Now, there were occasions where these ceremonies
- 33:52Speaker 5: can be appropriate, but to be dozens and dozens of them,
- 33:55Speaker 5: and the government needs to have its hands on the
- 33:59Speaker 5: lever controlling public spending. And Minister Wong is responsible for this.
- 34:04Speaker 5: I mean she's the boss of the department. And the
- 34:07Speaker 5: minister either stands behind this expenditure or she doesn't, and
- 34:12Speaker 5: she should be held accountable for it.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Where do you draw the line when it comes to
- 34:17Speaker 2: welcome to country ceremony? You know we've heard this Enterprise
- 34:20Speaker 2: say there's too many of them. But how do you
- 34:22Speaker 2: determine if they should or shouldn't take place?
- 34:26Speaker 5: Yeah, well, look, I think you've got to use common sense.
- 34:29Speaker 5: And there'll be some occasions, as I said, Shara, with
- 34:31Speaker 5: major events and so on, where it may be appropriate,
- 34:34Speaker 5: but it's certainly not appropriate. It basically every time a
- 34:38Speaker 5: group of people get together, which is what seems to
- 34:41Speaker 5: be happening now, and we've got to be sensible about this.
- 34:47Speaker 5: It's not Penny Wong's money, it's not Anthony Alberanzi's money.
- 34:52Speaker 5: It's the money of everyday Australians and of course we've
- 34:56Speaker 5: got to be cautious in how we spend that. And
- 34:59Speaker 5: that's what they haven't done here, and that's what we
- 35:01Speaker 5: would do in government.
- 35:03Speaker 2: I want to ask you about the trade tariffs that
- 35:06Speaker 2: Trump has signed an executive order on. He says he's
- 35:10Speaker 2: giving consideration to exempting Australia from the latest round of tariffs.
- 35:15Speaker 2: But his top trade advisor, Pete Navarro, who I know
- 35:18Speaker 2: quite well, he's singled out Australia for criticism.
- 35:21Speaker 7: Have a look, Australia is just killing our aluminum market
- 35:26Speaker 7: and the President Trump says, no, no, we're not, We're
- 35:29Speaker 7: not doing that anymore.
- 35:32Speaker 2: So, David, this is a difficult situation because clearly Malcolm
- 35:38Speaker 2: Turnbull in the past and Scott Morris in the past
- 35:41Speaker 2: did manage to negotiate these exemptions with Trump. But now
- 35:44Speaker 2: there's a Prime minister who's criticized the President in the past,
- 35:47Speaker 2: and ambassador who's done the same, and a foreign minister
- 35:50Speaker 2: who's done the same, and I just I'm not hopeful,
- 35:53Speaker 2: I'm not overly hopeful that if Albanezy couldn't convince Trump
- 35:57Speaker 2: in a forty minute call, well, I mean this comes
- 36:01Speaker 2: in in about three weeks time. What's your perception. Well, well,
- 36:06Speaker 2: we see Chario.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Look and the right thing to do here is focus
- 36:09Speaker 5: on our national interest, and our national interest is we
- 36:12Speaker 5: don't want these tariffs on Australian goods because that's bad
- 36:14Speaker 5: for Australia. And so we've all got to in a sense,
- 36:18Speaker 5: hope the government gets this right, and they should because
- 36:22Speaker 5: we did it.
- 36:24Speaker 2: We did it.
- 36:24Speaker 5: The circumstances are very similar. The Coalition was able to
- 36:28Speaker 5: manage it. And it is very unfortunate that the prime
- 36:32Speaker 5: ministers made those remarks in the past, that Minister Wong's
- 36:36Speaker 5: made those remarks, Kevin Rudd's made those remarks, and we
- 36:39Speaker 5: hope that that doesn't have a bearing on this because
- 36:42Speaker 5: this is important in our national interest and we've got
- 36:45Speaker 5: strong arguments. We've got a trade surplus, the US has
- 36:48Speaker 5: a trade surplus with US. We're spending heavily in the
- 36:52Speaker 5: US defense infrastructure. So very strong arguments here and the
- 36:55Speaker 5: government just needs to get it done.
- 36:57Speaker 2: All right, David Coleman, appreciate your time. Now still to come,
- 37:01Speaker 2: New South Wales Health Minister Ryan Park will be on
- 37:03Speaker 2: the show and I'll ask him about whether this is
- 37:05Speaker 2: a cultural problem in the health system and at Bangstown Hospital.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Plus Leah Mendy's will be live from Bangstown Police Station.
- 37:13Speaker 2: How he felt being chased and abused by the nurses.
- 37:17Speaker 2: That's coming up. Welcome back, okay, let's bring in New
- 37:23Speaker 2: South Wales Health Minister Ryan Park. Now, Ryan, thank you
- 37:27Speaker 2: for your time. Look, first I want to ask you
- 37:30Speaker 2: what your immediate reaction was this morning when I sent
- 37:34Speaker 2: you the video.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Well, when you sent me the video and I had
- 37:40Speaker 1: a look at it, I literally couldn't believe what I
- 37:43Speaker 1: was seeing. I was shocked, horrified, appalled.
- 37:48Speaker 10: I looked at it.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Multiple times, I went back through it. I couldn't believe
- 37:54Speaker 1: that in twenty twenty five two healthcare workers would behave
- 38:00Speaker 1: in such a disgusting and appalling and shocking way. And
- 38:05Speaker 1: from that moment on, I was determined that those people
- 38:09Speaker 1: would never work in New South Wales health again, and
- 38:11Speaker 1: they be never responsible for patients in the care of
- 38:15Speaker 1: a system that I'm the Minister for.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Clearly you've said they're never going to work in New
- 38:22Speaker 2: South Wales health system. But does APRA also now need
- 38:26Speaker 2: to remove their nursing license, their nursing registration? You know
- 38:30Speaker 2: what other action needs to happen because no one would
- 38:34Speaker 2: feel safe, whether it's in public system or in private system,
- 38:37Speaker 2: being treated by either of these nurses.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Absolutely not. And can I say from the very outset
- 38:45Speaker 1: chari that I'm very sorry to the Jewish community We've
- 38:49Speaker 1: let them down today. Public health is a bedrock of
- 38:53Speaker 1: an Australian society, and it's a bedrock of a New
- 38:55Speaker 1: South Wales society, and today we let them down in
- 38:59Speaker 1: no uncertain term. This morning, once I got that video
- 39:03Speaker 1: from you, I immediately contacted the Health Secretary of Susan
- 39:07Speaker 1: Pierce and from then we began contacting the Healthcare Complaints Commission,
- 39:12Speaker 1: who in turn started engaging with OPRAH and others, and
- 39:16Speaker 1: that process is now underway. I don't, in any way,
- 39:20Speaker 1: shape or form want to see these people work in
- 39:23Speaker 1: a private system, in a public system, in a hospital,
- 39:26Speaker 1: in an age care setting anywhere in this country. And
- 39:29Speaker 1: I will do my very best to make sure that
- 39:32Speaker 1: that doesn't happen.
- 39:34Speaker 2: And I really appreciate your strong comments today, your strong
- 39:37Speaker 2: and decisive action, and also the sentiments you express there
- 39:41Speaker 2: for the Jewish community. We really appreciate that you've said
- 39:45Speaker 2: now that you're going to commence an investigation or ask
- 39:47Speaker 2: the health department to start an investigation examining the past
- 39:51Speaker 2: patients who've been treated at Bangstown Hospital. Where is that
- 39:55Speaker 2: up to so far? And have you uncovered any red
- 39:58Speaker 2: flags at the point I realize it's only been so today.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, no.
- 40:04Speaker 2: That's fine, completely reasonable.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Look, Shari, one of the things that I need to
- 40:08Speaker 1: do is over the next few days, weeks and months
- 40:13Speaker 1: is try and re establish that trust with the Jewish
- 40:16Speaker 1: community and their local health and hospital services in their
- 40:19Speaker 1: own community, no matter where they live. Now to do that,
- 40:21Speaker 1: what I've got to try and do is make sure
- 40:24Speaker 1: that these individuals have not been responsible for any adverse
- 40:28Speaker 1: patient outcomes in the past. Now, when we've done an
- 40:32Speaker 1: initial very very desktop scan, not diving into issues, but
- 40:36Speaker 1: very desktop scan, the Bankstown Hospital doesn't stand out as
- 40:39Speaker 1: an outlier in relation to patient complaints or adverse outcomes. Now,
- 40:45Speaker 1: what we will start to do is through their supervisors,
- 40:48Speaker 1: which will be a very thorough, detailed and extensive search
- 40:54Speaker 1: examine if there have been any adverse outcomes that may
- 40:58Speaker 1: be attributable to this type of view that was shared
- 41:02Speaker 1: by these two individuals in that shocking video that you
- 41:06Speaker 1: sent me this morning.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Do you think there also needs to be examination of
- 41:10Speaker 2: the wider workplace, particularly at Bangstown Hospital, to make sure
- 41:15Speaker 2: that their supervisor that other colleagues don't share these sort
- 41:18Speaker 2: of views because they felt so comfortable expressing them openly
- 41:23Speaker 2: in a busy hospital, now.
- 41:27Speaker 1: That's what concerned me. There was seemingly no concern that
- 41:31Speaker 1: they were in the uniform, that they were in a
- 41:34Speaker 1: public hospital, that they were meant to be caring for
- 41:36Speaker 1: patients in their care. That seemed to be all forgotten.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Now this morning I spoke with and I've had a
- 41:42Speaker 1: number of conversations with the chief executive of Southwest Sydney
- 41:46Speaker 1: Local Health District. I've also spoken with the general manager
- 41:49Speaker 1: of that hospital. Tomorrow morning, I'll be going out to
- 41:52Speaker 1: that hospital with Secretary Susan Pierce and meeting with staff.
- 41:56Speaker 1: I'll be doing two things, Shari. To be honest, I'll
- 41:59Speaker 1: be making it very clear that this type of behavior
- 42:02Speaker 1: has no place in society, let alone in our public
- 42:06Speaker 1: health facilities. But I'll also be making it clear Shari
- 42:09Speaker 1: that I know that the vast majority of the one
- 42:12Speaker 1: hundred and eighty or one thousand people who work for
- 42:14Speaker 1: New South Wales Health go to work every day just
- 42:17Speaker 1: wanting to look after patients and do the very best
- 42:19Speaker 1: thing for the people they care for. I know that.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I know that as their minister. But these two individuals
- 42:25Speaker 1: have absolutely let down, not only just in terms of
- 42:29Speaker 1: a work that in our community.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Just very quickly in terms of a workplace review. I
- 42:33Speaker 2: understand you'll be visiting there, but shouldn't there be some
- 42:36Speaker 2: sort of independent workplace review to make sure these views
- 42:40Speaker 2: aren't more widespread, particularly at Bangstown Hospital.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Well, part of our investigation, Shari, will be have a
- 42:48Speaker 1: look at the culture at that hospital and to whether
- 42:51Speaker 1: there are issues in that hospital that have allowed this
- 42:55Speaker 1: to take place. I'm not making that accusation in any way,
- 42:58Speaker 1: shape or form. I can tell you that I will
- 43:01Speaker 1: be getting to the bottom of how these two individuals
- 43:04Speaker 1: felt so comfortable to be able to express such vile,
- 43:08Speaker 1: disgusting and hate filled speech in a way that they
- 43:12Speaker 1: did so whilst in uniform, whilst meant to be looking
- 43:16Speaker 1: after patients in their care, whilst in a public hospital
- 43:19Speaker 1: that people rely on to deliver healthcare in the most
- 43:21Speaker 1: vulnerable of times.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Yeah right, Ryan Park, appreciate your time and, as I've
- 43:26Speaker 2: said multiple times tonight, really appreciate your strong and quick
- 43:29Speaker 2: action on this issue. Thank you so much. Now let's
- 43:33Speaker 2: quickly bring in Liam mend Is. He's outside Bangstown Police
- 43:36Speaker 2: station now, Liam, thanks for joining us. Can you tell
- 43:40Speaker 2: us what is happening on the ground in Bangstown, particularly
- 43:43Speaker 2: with the police tonight.
- 43:46Speaker 7: Thanks for having me share. It's obviously a horrific situation
- 43:49Speaker 7: that's unfolded in the last twelve hours. I've been working
- 43:54Speaker 7: through Bankstown today in the Southwest Sydney region and we've
- 43:58Speaker 7: been trying to get in touch with these two individuals.
- 44:03Speaker 7: I did speak to missus Ladier earlier this afternoon. He
- 44:08Speaker 7: spoke through the gate of his the closed gate of
- 44:12Speaker 7: his home. It appeared had been through a lot of tears.
- 44:14Speaker 7: But you know, he did not want to face the cameras.
- 44:17Speaker 7: He asked us to put our cameras away. He did
- 44:19Speaker 7: not want to say sorry on camera. Yet that was
- 44:22Speaker 7: the same that Sarah. Her family told me that she
- 44:25Speaker 7: was still inside her home buying having a panic attack.
- 44:30Speaker 7: They said that, you know, they were possibly considering calling
- 44:33Speaker 7: an ambulance for her. You know, obviously they've had a
- 44:38Speaker 7: huge amount of public backlash, but at the end of
- 44:42Speaker 7: the day, this is real, horrific comments that they have
- 44:45Speaker 7: said without any form of sympathy towards Israeli people at all.
- 44:55Speaker 7: Now police here are taking a very they're investigating this.
- 45:04Speaker 7: They've been to own hospital earlier today obtain CCTV footage.
- 45:09Speaker 7: It's expected that they will also be appearing here at
- 45:14Speaker 7: the station at some point to be spoken to by police.
- 45:17Speaker 2: All right, Leah Mendy's amazing reporting today as always extraordinary journalists.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Thank you for your time. After the break, Bridget McKenzie,
- 45:24Speaker 2: we'll be back in a minute. Welcome back, and Johnny
- 45:30Speaker 2: Minow is National Senate leader. Bridget mackenzie. Bridget, thank you
- 45:34Speaker 2: for your time. What is your view on the Albanezy
- 45:38Speaker 2: government considering buying out collapsed airline recks.
- 45:44Speaker 12: Great to be with you, Sharhi Well, I think this
- 45:47Speaker 12: is going to be a problem for the over forty
- 45:51Speaker 12: regional airlines that are already servicing regional communities who want
- 45:56Speaker 12: a chance to actually grow that they'll be eventually competing
- 46:01Speaker 12: against a government owned airline with very very deep pockets.
- 46:05Speaker 12: We want to see regional communities connected. We've been fighting
- 46:09Speaker 12: for affordable, accessible aviation services into the regions. But what
- 46:14Speaker 12: you've seen the government do with this announcement today is
- 46:18Speaker 12: essentially back the TWUS hand picked what solution, which is
- 46:24Speaker 12: actually no solution at all and just shows how incompetent
- 46:27Speaker 12: this government is on aviation policy. You know, we've had
- 46:31Speaker 12: REX up for sale for over seven months. There is
- 46:36Speaker 12: no buyer, but we know that there's regional airlines out
- 46:39Speaker 12: there operating right now who'd love a chance to grow
- 46:43Speaker 12: their business, and yet this minister and this government hasn't
- 46:47Speaker 12: chosen to meet with them for two and a half years.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's appalling. There is an argument that's been put
- 46:54Speaker 2: forward that regional Australians would welcome the government's takeover because
- 47:00Speaker 2: they say REX is needed in these regional areas where
- 47:03Speaker 2: the other airlines aren't yet traveling to those places. What's
- 47:07Speaker 2: your response to this argument.
- 47:11Speaker 12: Well, I think it shows that if the government actually
- 47:14Speaker 12: had have been on the front foot when this first happened,
- 47:17Speaker 12: a bearing in mind the failure of Rex came four
- 47:21Speaker 12: months after another regional airline went bust under the Albanzi government,
- 47:24Speaker 12: being Bonza. If the government had have acted swiftly then
- 47:29Speaker 12: to go towards an industry led solution, we wouldn't be
- 47:33Speaker 12: in this situation right now. The fact is, what we
- 47:37Speaker 12: want to see is exactly what everyone out in the
- 47:40Speaker 12: regions wants is for regional Australians not to be stranded
- 47:45Speaker 12: and so making sure that we can actually have a
- 47:49Speaker 12: viable operation going that's not going to see local businesses
- 47:53Speaker 12: go under as a result of having to compete with
- 47:55Speaker 12: the government is our concern.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Cay Bridget, We've only got one minute left. I apologize.
- 48:01Speaker 2: I just want to ask you about your support for
- 48:03Speaker 2: Pauline Hanson's push for an inquiry into the medical treatment
- 48:06Speaker 2: for transgender children.
- 48:09Speaker 12: Here. Look, I believe the Parliament's a place we should
- 48:11Speaker 12: be able to have the difficult conversations the challenging issues
- 48:16Speaker 12: that our nation confronts, and that's why I voted in
- 48:19Speaker 12: favor of the inquiry. I believe this is an issue
- 48:23Speaker 12: that we need to have a serious and substantial conversation about.
- 48:26Speaker 12: Get the experts in protect witnesses and debate it. I'm
- 48:31Speaker 12: an old phys ed teacher. I want to at a
- 48:34Speaker 12: personal level on the substantive issue the inquiry aside. I
- 48:38Speaker 12: don't want to see girls competing against biological males in sport.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I don't think it's fair. Absolutely all right, Bridget McKenzie,
- 48:47Speaker 2: thank you so much. And I apologize, Shari. I apologize
- 48:50Speaker 2: we had less time than usual. It's been a big show.
- 48:52Speaker 2: I'll make it up to you next time. And I
- 48:55Speaker 2: just want to say to everyone at home, thank you
- 48:57Speaker 2: for the hundreds and hundreds of emails with your sugestions
- 49:00Speaker 2: for antisemitism. Keep them coming. Summit at skynews dot com
- 49:05Speaker 2: dot au, we're reading moll. I'll see you tomorrow at
- 49:08Speaker 2: eight o'clock, but stay tuned because Paul Mari is up next.
