- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome. It's
- 0:07Speaker 1: time now for one on one with the pro. And
- 0:09Speaker 1: the pro today is miss Tory from Early Bird Market.
- 0:13Speaker 2: How are you doing, young lady. Well, I'm doing just super.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You know.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I had an opportunity to visit you at the market,
- 0:22Speaker 1: which is right inside Bambinos on the southwest corner, just
- 0:26Speaker 1: past the south by. And I'm sorry, but it is
- 0:29Speaker 1: a inside that IoT io io io. Okay, I get
- 0:35Speaker 1: all mixed up on that, but anyway, it is nestled
- 0:38Speaker 1: right there in the corner.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It is fabulously laid out, and you could.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Spend a good amount of time doing some grocery shopping
- 0:46Speaker 1: in there, with all the fresh meats and produce and
- 0:50Speaker 1: even some nice you know, native recipe verable and natural
- 0:56Speaker 1: things to keep you happy and healthy.
- 0:59Speaker 2: My goodness sake. You get you kind of rocking down there,
- 1:01Speaker 2: aren't you.
- 1:02Speaker 3: We are very very busy, especially with spring time coming
- 1:07Speaker 3: on and the farmers growing all their produce were starting
- 1:09Speaker 3: to get loaded up with customers and with produce.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Well this is great.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Tell us a little bit about the Early Bird Market.
- 1:15Speaker 1: How you got your idea for it? I know it
- 1:17Speaker 1: took you a good year and a half before fully
- 1:19Speaker 1: implementing it. But you were a very careful student of this.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Yes still are Yes.
- 1:27Speaker 3: So I honor I honored the land and all these things,
- 1:31Speaker 3: practicing permaculture and regenerative farming. And I didn't really know
- 1:37Speaker 3: what any of that stuff was until I started practicing
- 1:40Speaker 3: farming and all of that.
- 1:42Speaker 4: So I started.
- 1:45Speaker 3: It was the COVID season, all that stuff, and I
- 1:49Speaker 3: was I was practicing growing mown food, and I did
- 1:52Speaker 3: a little bit when I was younger, not a lot,
- 1:54Speaker 3: but when COVID hit and all that, I was like,
- 1:58Speaker 3: I'm going to start playing around growing own food, having
- 2:00Speaker 3: some fun. And I really enjoyed it. When I had
- 2:04Speaker 3: my child, she was a little older, like she was
- 2:09Speaker 3: like one or two whenever COVID really hit, and I
- 2:14Speaker 3: decided I wanted to really focus on because I was
- 2:20Speaker 3: playing a video game called Stardoo Valley. I took a
- 2:22Speaker 3: lot of inspiration from that and followed it and decided
- 2:26Speaker 3: I wanted to start a store farm and do all
- 2:29Speaker 3: the things and build a community around what farming and
- 2:33Speaker 3: community is.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So right now you've got pretty good little you know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: farm to fork operation.
- 2:39Speaker 2: God, yeah, there to you and.
- 2:41Speaker 4: All This is local, very local, very local. Within fifty
- 2:45Speaker 4: miles of Artlesville.
- 2:46Speaker 2: You can't get much more local than that, No, you can.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You have local meat providers, yes, some ranchers that you
- 2:52Speaker 1: do business with, Yes, and also with the produce people
- 2:56Speaker 1: that are kind of famous around here.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They are for all good things. They're green and yummy.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yes, they are there.
- 3:02Speaker 3: They're really taken off between them being at the farmers
- 3:05Speaker 3: market and being inside of the store. Many of my
- 3:08Speaker 3: produce providers are really starting to take off and make
- 3:11Speaker 3: a name for themselves.
- 3:12Speaker 2: This is really what it's all about.
- 3:14Speaker 1: A little bit of teamwork, a little bit of hustle,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and just letting folks know that you're there. They'll always
- 3:19Speaker 1: find what's good for them. I found something that was
- 3:21Speaker 1: good for me. You have a little company down in
- 3:27Speaker 1: Collinsville that does a little business with you with the mushroom.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Coffee, Yes, we do.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And must wake you up that that'll do it. You
- 3:39Speaker 2: can feel the hair grow on.
- 3:40Speaker 4: You, yes you can. Yes, they all set.
- 3:42Speaker 1: A barn if you do two cups. But that is all.
- 3:45Speaker 1: That's all locally done.
- 3:47Speaker 4: It is locally done.
- 3:47Speaker 3: They grow everything themselves and then they put the ingredients together.
- 3:52Speaker 3: They dry it out themselves. They also provide fresh mushrooms
- 3:56Speaker 3: throughout the week.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the fresh full you know, yes, well, text.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Me it's amazing. I love them. They're amazing.
- 4:03Speaker 1: So that's just one of your many suppliers. So you know,
- 4:06Speaker 1: right now you've got a cozy corner and it's plenty
- 4:10Speaker 1: accessible for folks and everything. But I'm a little worried
- 4:14Speaker 1: because a lot of folks are finding out about you.
- 4:16Speaker 2: They're gonna get crowded here real soon.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I know it already is.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know, these muscle bound types like me coming in there,
- 4:26Speaker 2: just log in the old aisle.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But no, you actually have freezers there full of meat
- 4:30Speaker 1: that folks can purchase, and this is all you know.
- 4:34Speaker 2: You don't have to worry about additives.
- 4:36Speaker 4: No, you have.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I have beef, I have pork, I have chicken, and
- 4:39Speaker 3: I have bison as well, yes, sir, And then I'm
- 4:43Speaker 3: working on I have a goat provider as well. I'm
- 4:46Speaker 3: just making some room to be able to have some
- 4:48Speaker 3: of that option available.
- 4:49Speaker 2: To good luck.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Those shelves are pretty full and freezers. Now, Early Bird
- 4:56Speaker 1: Market is once again right downtown in Bartlesville, and once
- 5:02Speaker 1: you get inside there, you're you're gonna feel at home.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It really does have a homie feel to it. And
- 5:07Speaker 1: by the way, congratulations. Not everybody can pull that off.
- 5:11Speaker 1: They just can't. It's one of those things where it's
- 5:14Speaker 1: either going to be there or it's not. And the
- 5:17Speaker 1: way it comes across and the way everything that is presented,
- 5:22Speaker 1: very easy on the eye, very easy on the mind.
- 5:25Speaker 1: You're not going to get stressed out. That's one thing
- 5:28Speaker 1: for sure. You will not get stressed out.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Well, thank you. That means a lot to me.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Well, I tell you, I went in there just looking around,
- 5:36Speaker 1: just seeing what I could see. And I walked out
- 5:39Speaker 1: there with, you know, a big old sack of wall
- 5:43Speaker 1: mushroom coffee and a couple of other things ahead I'm saying,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I'm pretty well set.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah, you're stuck on that mushroom coffee. I love that.
- 5:50Speaker 4: There's a lot of.
- 5:50Speaker 2: People that love that. I got the last one you did,
- 5:55Speaker 2: you said you better not?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Wait, I said, why is that? The next person behind you?
- 5:59Speaker 1: Just okay, I got it. Yeah, And so once again
- 6:04Speaker 1: the early Bird Market is the place to be.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And the name of the building downtown.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Is the Itio Building.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It TiO Building, And so where you're gonna find Bambinos
- 6:13Speaker 1: and a few other businesses too. But you're right there
- 6:15Speaker 1: and nestled into the southwest corner of the Bambinos area
- 6:20Speaker 1: of the building and really easy to find. Nice little walk,
- 6:23Speaker 1: very nice atmosphere in there too. You're not seeing signs
- 6:28Speaker 1: saying buy this, you know, screaming at you.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Everything's very laid back and comfortable.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Well, the whole point of the store is I like
- 6:37Speaker 3: to I don't want people to just go in there
- 6:38Speaker 3: and spend money. I want them to make the decisions
- 6:40Speaker 3: that are going to be best for them. Yeah, so
- 6:44Speaker 3: many of my customers come in and just have conversations
- 6:47Speaker 3: with me, and we will go through the store and
- 6:49Speaker 3: talk about what's actually going to help them.
- 6:53Speaker 4: And I'm still learning all.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Of the wellness stuff. When it comes to the herbal
- 7:01Speaker 3: teatures and stuff, I'm not a pro in that.
- 7:03Speaker 2: So I but you're surrounding yourself with some.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Yes there.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I have the professionals on speed dial so I can easily.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Get information for them.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So me and my customers don't just come in where
- 7:17Speaker 3: they're just expected to spend I want them to ask
- 7:19Speaker 3: questions and make education educated opinions for themselves and make
- 7:24Speaker 3: the right decisions for their families.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Now, when it comes to the meat, a lot of
- 7:27Speaker 1: folks want to know, you know, are are you taking
- 7:31Speaker 1: you know, your your proteins from places that we might
- 7:35Speaker 1: use additive in the feeds or are these natural?
- 7:38Speaker 4: These are all natural?
- 7:39Speaker 3: So everything kind of like what we talked about last time.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Everyone chooses to do regenerative farming. That use it that
- 7:47Speaker 3: I source all of my produce and meat from. And
- 7:53Speaker 3: some of them do grain finished or sorry, grass fed
- 7:57Speaker 3: grain finished because that's.
- 7:59Speaker 2: What people prefer and it's very natural it is.
- 8:01Speaker 3: And then there's people who do grass fed grass finished beef.
- 8:06Speaker 4: And then the chicken is.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Pasture raised because you can't really control what a chicken's
- 8:09Speaker 3: going to eat at all times.
- 8:11Speaker 2: No, chickens just do what chickens do.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Same with the pigs.
- 8:15Speaker 3: But everyone is very very clean about what they are
- 8:19Speaker 3: offering to their animals and they practice regenerative farming even
- 8:22Speaker 3: with their animals.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Oh very good.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Okay, So when folks that talk about the term regenderative farming,
- 8:28Speaker 1: this means it's sustainable, it's going to last, and you're
- 8:32Speaker 1: doing what's good not only for the plants, but what's
- 8:36Speaker 1: good for the earth.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Yes, exactly.
- 8:38Speaker 3: You're keeping the earth in mind and you're working and
- 8:40Speaker 3: curating with the earth.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Okay, so you're not working against anything and we're not
- 8:44Speaker 1: going to tear anything up correct, basically going to be
- 8:47Speaker 1: taking what is intended for us.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, very good.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I like this the early Bird Market here in Bartlespielt Folks.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You really don't want to miss out on this now,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I can folks find you online, Tory.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Yes, so I have a Facebook page. You can follow
- 9:05Speaker 3: me there. I have lots of information go on out
- 9:08Speaker 3: educational sources as well, and people need to learn more
- 9:12Speaker 3: about anything, request special things. I will even do research
- 9:16Speaker 3: if I'm not informed about it. I also have a
- 9:19Speaker 3: website and it is earlybird Market okay dot com. You
- 9:23Speaker 3: can go on there and shop around see what all we.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Have inside it online.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Yes, yes, we offer delivery and pickup services as well.
- 9:30Speaker 3: If people aren't able to come in and shop.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Let me do. That's kind of cool.
- 9:34Speaker 4: It is cool.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But I really like going in there just because it's
- 9:38Speaker 1: it is nice and homey and cozy and everything and
- 9:41Speaker 1: Tories there.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I am there.
- 9:42Speaker 2: She never leaves, I mean, yes she does.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I'm just kidding, just kidding, but anyway, it is really
- 9:49Speaker 1: something kind of one of a kind here in Bartlesville,
- 9:53Speaker 1: very unique and uh, I'm kind of border lining on
- 9:57Speaker 1: awesome these days because you're starting to blow awesome.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes, and uh and everything.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I remember being the only one in the store and
- 10:06Speaker 1: by the time I left there were four more, and
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm going, oh god, Lee, I think I think I
- 10:13Speaker 1: timed this out pretty good because you're you're starting to
- 10:16Speaker 1: get now. You know a lot of new faces.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I am, lots and lots of new faces, a lot
- 10:22Speaker 3: of curious people.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yes, and of course your regular customers have been with you.

- 10:42Speaker 1: worth my while.
- 10:43Speaker 2: It'd be worth your while too, folks.
- 10:44Speaker 1: If you're looking to get healthy, stay healthy and kind
