- 0:00I'm Bradley roll Off lead guitar from god Hunter, and I'm Kennel Brown drums
- 0:05for god Hunter. Yeah, today we're missing Greg, Charlie and Kreis of
- 0:09course, so we're here yesterday, but we couldn't they couldn't stick around of
- 0:12course. God Hunter we're best described, I guess as the southern progressive black
- 0:18and groove thrash. A few things throwing in the mix, I guess,
- 0:23yeah, and not one particular sound that we stick to exactly. Sort of
- 0:28all got our sort of spices on it, but influenced by quite a bit
- 0:33of different stuff. Yeahful guys, thanks for joining us this ut today,
- 0:39No, thanks for having us. Thank you absolutely pleasure. So god Hunter
- 0:43just about to release your fourth signal of bowl Vie, which comes out on
- 0:47January the tenth, So so us a bit about the track from a musical
- 0:50point of view, guys, and then what you're going for with it?
- 0:53Okuess original sand was sort of just guess I've never ending build. Yeah,
- 1:00just a build that keeps building was sort of the idea. I had a
- 1:06bit of a riff that seemed to play over itself quite easily, So it
- 1:11was the idea of just just that atmosphere build, build, build with the
- 1:17sort of the bomb drop right at the end sort of thing. So,
- 1:19and then we didn't have vocals for the trade for the longest time. And
- 1:23then so having Chris come into the works really just accentuated that build for us
- 1:27when he comes in with it. Yeah, yeah, Chris put quite quite
- 1:34a quite an emphasis on the build as he put his vocals into it.
- 1:42And a bottle follows on from your previous singles God Hunches, Psychon and Shift
- 1:48the Tide. So how was it different to those songs? Ah? Well,
- 1:53psychonaut was a psycho onst our southern southern sludgy sort of flavor coming out.
- 2:04I guess a bit a bit of a you know, obviously the psychedelic
- 2:07side and a bit of a bit of the trippy side. A bit of
- 2:09the sludgy side comes into the stone of rock side to speak in psycho or
- 2:16Yeah, Shift the Tires, I guess is a little bit more upfront.
- 2:21And then God Hands the course is way way more atmospheric, whereas Evolver is
- 2:24just real constant punch in the face with that build and whatnot. We really
- 2:31try and bring it in, especially with that really big off the bat live
- 2:36of course counted in on the ride symbol, but when we've all come in
- 2:39together, it just feels massive. Yeah, they would show those four would
- 2:44just say best represents your sound. Oh, that's sort of hard. That's
- 2:53kind of hard because the rest of the album's got some some very different stuff.
- 2:58Again, Uh, I'll probably I'll probably go with Evolver. Yeah,
- 3:05I'd go with Evolver and shift the tides for a bit of Yeah, it's
- 3:10heavy, it's fast, but there's a groove going on, you know,
- 3:15there's you know, they have a bit of groove. Yes, there's a
- 3:19lot of drum oriented stuff. So I guess that's what Kendall gets to let
- 3:22loose a little bit more. And the riffs follow the drums a lot.
- 3:24So I guess those sorts of songs are really good for us. And all
- 3:30all of the songs are taken from your forthcoming album Season at the end,
- 3:35so we mentioned that they're all a little bit different musically, So how would
- 3:38you describe the album as whole? Is there a bit more different stuff on
- 3:40there? Again? Yeah, towards the end of their album, there's some
- 3:46definitely some darker, heavier and some faster stuff. But what I guess saying
- 3:54that we've got like a little instrumental interlude, so maybe if you're getting a
- 3:59little it's sick of head banging, it comes in at the perfect time and
- 4:02then gives you a break for some more head banging right at the end of
- 4:05the album for the last two songs. Yeah, there's a pretty little break
- 4:09in there. There's just pretty much everyone. Yeah. Yeah, and I
- 4:16understand you're planning on releasing each of the nine songs individually leading up to the
- 4:20four album. Is that correct? Yeah, that's the plan so far,
- 4:25because we don't really have a plan date for the album to come out,
- 4:28definitely, probably in half two of twenty twenty four. We've been sitting on
- 4:31it for far too long. But of course we've got to do it the
- 4:35right way and just get it out one at a time. Yeah. Is
- 4:41that's not also like a sign of the modern age where I guess people's intention
- 4:45spans again less and less, like people just want ship in a hurry now,
- 4:47Like is it sort of has that influenced the decision a bit? Yeah,
- 4:51one hundred percent. You've got to keep that constant stream, you know.
- 4:55That's like I guess we've been really trying to get into the social media
- 4:59side of stuff at the moment, and constantly pushing those songs is the only
- 5:01way to keep your audience engaged, you know, So, I think that's
- 5:06going to be the best strategy for us for releastening an album. Then you're
- 5:12planning to release the full physical album with a special launch party after those nine
- 5:15song drout as all right, Absolutely, we haven't planned it and what bands
- 5:20we want to have for us and where we're going to have it, But
- 5:24if you guys have any ideas or any venues, we'd definitely be keen pull
- 5:30something a little bit different for it. Where about your face, we're a
- 5:34phraseer coach, well where where we gaming Marab mainly, but we have members
- 5:43from here to Namble up towards Bundy, but he's moved down towards game Beat
- 5:50toward the area and your Queensland band, Yeah we are, well, actually
- 5:58us too are actually from you how far I was originally towards the snow Country.
- 6:06One thing that I love about your music guys is it's bloody arts to
- 6:10label. So what are some of your influencers and how do they come through
- 6:14in your music? Oh? Well, there's obviously, there's definitely influences from
- 6:18you know, all the big names from when we're growing up, you know,
- 6:23the Panterras, like the in Flames, Lamb of God, the Tool
- 6:28sort of thing. Yeah, bit it down, you know, Mega Dad,
- 6:33And I guess it's just trying to cherry pick the best bits of those
- 6:36songs, the ones that we really like that just fulfill our musical ears,
- 6:42if you know what I mean, then to make it in our own songs.
- 6:46So it's sort of hard for me today because I'm not a musician,
- 6:48But when you're taking all those influences and you talk about making them into your
- 6:53own songs, like how find of a line is there between invitation and inspiration?
- 6:57And then where do you draw that line? Oh? Yeah, there
- 7:00is definitely it is definitely a fine line. Yeah, Like there's always that
- 7:06catch that you know there is there is only so many combinations on a there's
- 7:13only so many notes. There's only so many combinations and notes. So just
- 7:16about every pattern you can think of been done by someone at some point,
- 7:20and it's all you've got to put your own your own spin, yeah,
- 7:26your own spin, your own how you accent things and all that sort of
- 7:30thing. Is how you Yeah, you make it your own, I guess,
- 7:33but I guess at the end of the day, imitation is the finest
- 7:36form of flattery. As I say, you think aback to Jimmy Hendricks and
- 7:42the Beatles when he did Sergeant Pepper's a couple of days after you know they
- 7:46released that. You know, so I always try and keep a couple of
- 7:49dimebag licks and my solos and stuff like that, just to pay homage.
- 7:54Why not, brother? And if you guys got any live shows coming up
- 7:57with the New Fisher, Yeah, we've got a couple starting tenth to February.
- 8:01We've got a local do here. We've got Cycisphere, another local heavy
- 8:07band here, Ruination and Rimy Grassa coming up from the Sunny Coast. That's
- 8:13our first one off the bat, and then there's a handful running through the
- 8:18year. Twentieth of April, we're running Meadow United down Under in Marrabara again.
- 8:26Last year's went really well. This one will be even better. I
- 8:31hope. That's at the local RSL here Marrabara and a couple other local shows
- 8:37and we'll be reaching out for a few spots down and Bridge. Very true
- 8:41as well. But yeah, plater on in the year, hopefully do a
- 8:48trek from here down to camera and stop upony of spots along the way were
- 8:54where can people fire the band and keep up with what's your up jet You're
- 8:58on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube as well. I'll try and put a lot
- 9:01on YouTube is put it there first and have everything bleed out. But you
