- 0:00Hebrews chapter 10. Let us pray our Father who is in
- 0:08heaven, Lord, we lift your name up higher, higher than any other
- 0:14name in all the galaxies in the universe, God, over every land
- 0:19and over every continent. Let your name be the name that
- 0:22is above all names. God, the name that we speak,
- 0:25that heals Lord, that saves, Father, that provides.
- 0:31God, we know that you are our everything.
- 0:35You are Lord, you are the only uncreated.
- 0:41So God, we keep your name holy. We keep your name set apart.
- 0:47God, help us to not blasphemy. God help us not to use it
- 0:50loosely. Father, help us to correct those
- 0:54who ignorantly say all kinds of blasphemous things using your
- 0:59name, God. It is holy and it is pure, Lord,
- 1:04and it is precious to us. God, we pray for your Kingdom,
- 1:10Lord, to come to this earth. Help us not to try to set up our
- 1:14own Kingdom here on this earth. Help us not, Lord, to make it
- 1:18all about the wrong things and to lean the ladder on the wrong
- 1:21house. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 1:25that it'll be your Kingdom that we push towards, that we
- 1:28propagate, that we are enamored by God, that we want more than
- 1:34we want our own reputation or financial security.
- 1:39God, it is your Kingdom, your Kingdom alone that we yearn for.
- 1:45And God, we pray for your will to be done today, no matter how
- 1:49hard that is, God, no matter what it costs us.
- 1:52Lord, we want your will only. God help us to lay down all of
- 1:57our selfishness, all of our carnal earthly pleasures.
- 2:02God, I pray that your will, your perfect and pleasing plan for
- 2:07all the ages. God, I pray that we will rest in
- 2:12what you want for right now, Lord, whatever that looks like.
- 2:16God, we want your will to be done on this earth just as you
- 2:21have planned it there in heaven. God, I pray for the daily bread
- 2:26as we open up your word. Let us feast upon the bread of
- 2:29life. God, let us drink upon the water
- 2:33from the rock. God, I pray for manna and quail
- 2:36today. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 2:39Jesus you'll feed us with the Ravens.
- 2:41God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will cause us to eat
- 2:46the fish on the shore with you. Lord, I pray that you will feed
- 2:51us, God, however you deem fit. Lord, and let us be content with
- 2:57little or much. God, I pray that you'll forgive
- 3:01us just as we've been forgiven. Lord, help us not to be bitter.
- 3:08Help us not to be those that are calloused, God, and that are
- 3:12grieving your spirit, Lord, because we won't let go of wrath
- 3:16and malice and deceit. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 3:20Jesus that we'll be sold out lovers of Yeshua.
- 3:24God, I pray in the name of Jesus that we'll extend forgiveness
- 3:28out to those that don't even deserve it there, don't even
- 3:31want it, and don't even ask for it.
- 3:33God, But we will naturally say forgive them, for they know not
- 3:38what they do. Lord, I pray that you'll keep us
- 3:41from the adversary, keep us from the accuser of the brethren,
- 3:45God, keep us from the prowling lion God that seeks to devour
- 3:51us. God, I pray that you'll allow us
- 3:54to walk with you, to talk with you, God, to go where you go.
- 4:00Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus for a hedge of protection
- 4:03around our ministries and around our houses, around our families
- 4:07and around our workplaces, around our finances, God, around
- 4:10our cars. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 4:13Jesus for a hedge of protection around our country.
- 4:19Lord, I pray that you'll protect us from all of the evil,
- 4:23maliciousness, God, that is being propagated at the highest
- 4:27levels. Lord, yours is the Kingdom, not
- 4:34ours. Yours is the power.
- 4:37You are omnipotent, Father, You're all powerful and all
- 4:42knowing God, and you're everywhere all at once.
- 4:46Yours is the glory, glory, glory, glory, Hallelujah, glory.
- 4:55God, encompass us with your light, encompass us with your
- 5:00presence, the Shekinah, glory. God, where we cannot even speak,
- 5:04we cannot even minister. God, it is your glory that we
- 5:08want and it's in Jesus Christ. Holy and precious name, I pray,
- 5:18Amen. Well, let's start in verse one
- 5:25for the law having a shadow of good things to come are and not
- 5:31the very image of the things can never with those sacrifices
- 5:36which they offered year by year continually make the comers
- 5:40thereunto perfect. So here the writer of Hebrews,
- 5:44He just flows from 1 chapter to the next friends.
- 5:48It's one thought if you were keeping up with the last chapter
- 5:51in Chapter 9. This is just a continuation of
- 5:55everything that the writer of Hebrews was saying.
- 5:57This T-bone steak that we're getting to munch on, friends,
- 6:01we're off of the milk. And now we're deep, deep, deep
- 6:05in the Mariana Trench, eating upon the meat of God to for then
- 6:13would they not have ceased to be offered because that the
- 6:18worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of
- 6:22sins. So that's the thing about the
- 6:25old way before Christ came, whenever Moses had instituted
- 6:30all of the laws and the regulations, friends, that as
- 6:33soon as the Day of Atonement was over, there goes sin creeping
- 6:37back in and their conscience is being pricked of all the sins
- 6:42that they were committing. That they could never be
- 6:45completely at one with God because sin stood in the way.
- 6:51And it was only the blood of Jesus Christ that completely and
- 6:55once and for all took away our need for this remission of sins.
- 7:02And it is only by Jesus that we get there.
- 7:05It is not by our own works, so that any man should boast, 3 But
- 7:11in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins
- 7:17every year. For for it is not possible that
- 7:20the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
- 7:25That's the thing about it. It was all pointing towards
- 7:28Jesus Christ and what He was going to do on Calvary. 5
- 7:33Wherefore when He comes into the world, he says, sacrifice and
- 7:39offering you would not but a body.
- 7:42Have you prepared for me? So all the way back in Psalms,
- 7:46the Psalmist understood that Jesus Christ was going to be
- 7:50fully man and fully God, and that is what was going to please
- 7:54God Almighty for the complete and total forgiveness of all of
- 8:01mankind's sins once and for all. The shedding of Jesus Christ,
- 8:06the only Begotten's blood on Calvary would completely cover
- 8:11and make us at one with God. 6IN burnt offerings and sacrifice
- 8:18for sin, you have had no pleasure.
- 8:22So God never took any pleasure in the shedding of the blood of
- 8:28the bulls and the goats and the red heifer and the doves and the
- 8:31pigeon friends. God never took any pleasure in
- 8:35that. It was only to point towards
- 8:39Jesus and what Jesus was going to do. 7 Then said, I Lo, I come
- 8:48in the volume of the book, it is written of me to do your will, O
- 8:52God, this is Jesus crying out to Father, and he's saying, Lo,
- 8:57I've come to do your work, God, to do your will, Father, not my
- 9:01own. That was what he was talking
- 9:03about in Gethsemane, whenever he's praying, O God, your will,
- 9:08and not my own. 8 above, when he said sacrifice and offering and
- 9:14burnt offerings and offering for sin, you would not neither had
- 9:18pleasure in it where which are offered by the law.
- 9:22So God took no pleasure in the taking of the life of the bulls
- 9:28and the goats, friends, He was pointing towards Christ.
- 9:32That's what it all culminated in and now everything points back
- 9:36to that moment. 9 And then said, he Lo, I come to do your will, O
- 9:45God, he takes away the 1st that he may establish the second.
- 9:49We are in the new covenant, friends.
- 9:54We are in the New Testament, friends.
- 9:57The executor of the will has died and everything has come
- 10:01into effect, friends, and now we are the beneficiaries of
- 10:07redemption. We've been bought.
- 10:10We've been bought with a high price, a real high price.
- 10:14Forensic cost him his very life. 10 By the which will we are
- 10:24sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once
- 10:30for all. Thank you, Jesus, for your
- 10:35sacrifice. We can know that we know that we
- 10:39know that we know where we're going to spend eternity because
- 10:43we have placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and whoever
- 10:48places their faith in him will never be put to shame. 11 And
- 10:54every priest stands daily, ministering and offering,
- 10:59offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take
- 11:04away sins. We see Jesus Christ seated
- 11:07because he has the finished work.
- 11:10We see these priests standing and they're having to
- 11:12continuously keep going back over and over and over because
- 11:17of our sin nature that can only be taken care of and eradicated
- 11:22by the blood of Jesus Christ. 12 But this man, after he had
- 11:27offered one sacrifice for sins, forever, sat down on the right
- 11:34hand of God. He is finished, it is finished,
- 11:39He is seated, which shows that he has completely won.
- 11:47There is no need for any more sacrifices.
- 11:51He is the all sufficient sacrifice for the Atonement, so
- 11:56that you and I can be made at one with God forever and ever
- 12:01and ever. And we do not need to worry
- 12:04about how we stand or what God thinks of us.
- 12:08And it is all based upon the finished work of Jesus, not upon
- 12:13our merit, not upon our measure, not upon the scales and
- 12:18balances. It's not about about anything
- 12:21that we have done. It's everything that he did,
- 12:24friends. And that is the only way that
- 12:27we're going to be made right with God and that one with God
- 12:30and justified and righteous before God and holy because he
- 12:35is holy. 13 From henceforth affecting, till his enemies be
- 12:43made a footstool. 14 For by one offering he has perfected
- 12:48forever them that are sanctified. 15 where of the Holy
- 12:53Ghost also is a witness to us. For after that he had said
- 12:58before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after
- 13:02those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their
- 13:06hearts, and in their minds I will write them. 17 And their
- 13:10sins and iniquity I will remember no more. 18 Now where
- 13:14remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
- 13:18Jesus Christ finished it. Jesus Christ came and won, and
- 13:26there is no more need to wait for another.
- 13:29He is the Messiah, He is the Christ, and we see that his work
- 13:35is finished. God is going to make Jesus's
- 13:43enemies a footstool. It looks as if sometimes the
- 13:49evil will win the day, but just know we serve a risen Lord and
- 13:55there is no power outside of the power that God allows.
- 14:01And he only had to suffer once and now he's perfected for ever.
- 14:07And he lives to sanctify us, to make us more and more like
- 14:10himself. And He gave us the down payment
- 14:13of the Holy Ghost. And we can see now that we are
- 14:17never the same. We're not the same people,
- 14:19friends. And that is a witness for us
- 14:22that we know that we know that we know that we know where we're
- 14:24going to spend eternity. He gave us a promise.
- 14:29He made us a promise that where He is, we will be friends.
- 14:33And He's going to give us a new heart and give us a new mind.
- 14:37We're not going to see things the way that we used to or hear
- 14:40things the way that we used to. We're going to be able to hide
- 14:43His word in our hearts, friends, and we don't have to worry about
- 14:47if our sins and iniquities will be remembered and counted
- 14:50against us, because it is not about our merit.
- 14:54It's all about Jesus's work on the cross.
- 14:56Now, because of what Jesus did, we can be completely clean and
- 15:02clear in our conscience. Friends 19 having their four
- 15:09brothers the boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of
- 15:14Jesus, we don't have to worry about if we got all the little
- 15:18requirements right before we come in to the holiest of holy
- 15:22places. He ripped the veil from top to
- 15:24bottom and now we can come boldly into the throne room of
- 15:28grace where the Shekinah glory is.
- 15:31And we can be made right with God because of Jesus 20 by a new
- 15:36and living way which He has consecrated for us through the
- 15:40veil, that is to say, His flesh, as his flesh was torn open,
- 15:47friends, and he was bleeding. Friends.
- 15:50That blood is what covers us and it cleanses us and it makes us
- 15:56right with God, if we will just believe and place our faith in
- 16:00the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 in having a high priest over the
- 16:06House of God. 22 Let us draw near with the true heart in full
- 16:11assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from the evil
- 16:15conscience, and our bodies washed with the pure water.
- 16:19You see the blood of Christ on Calvary and His side opened up
- 16:23and the water gushing out, and that is what we cover ourselves
- 16:28in. We are not just dunked in water,
- 16:30we are washed in the blood of Christ and now we can be pure
- 16:36and clean and whole and we can be holy just because of what He
- 16:41did for us. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith
- 16:48without wavering, for he is faithful that promised.
- 16:51It's not about us, friends. It's not about if we have the
- 16:56faith that can move the size of the the size of a mustard seed
- 17:01that can move the mountain. It's all about who that faith is
- 17:04placed in. That's the whole point of the
- 17:09whole matter. We've got to take our eyes off
- 17:12of self and put our eyes on Christ Jesus, the Author and the
- 17:17perfecter of our faith, and he will lead us from glory to
- 17:21glory. 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love
- 17:29and to good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of
- 17:34ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting
- 17:39one another. And so much the more as you see
- 17:42the day approaching. He's saying, Do not forsake the
- 17:46assembling as some are in the habit of doing.
- 17:50Don't stop coming together. This quininea, friends, this one
- 17:55anothering one another. We need to be in fellowship.
- 18:00Iron sharpens iron. No man is an island, friends.
- 18:04We need to be those that help each other and provoke each
- 18:09other into greater measures, friends, and be able to be there
- 18:13when somebody's going off track, to be able to have
- 18:17accountability, friends. That is what God desires for us,
- 18:21not to just stay in our little holy huddles, but to actually go
- 18:27out and to actually be the church to the world.
- 18:33As we see the day approaching, how much more if the writer of
- 18:37Hebrews was telling them to assemble?
- 18:44As they saw the day approaching, how much more viable, how much
- 18:49more relevant is it for our day and our hour to assemble?
- 18:54As we see the day approaching, this is not a time for us to
- 18:59capitulate. This is not a time for us to
- 19:02turn inward. Friends, This is a time for the
- 19:06church to actually be the church.
- 19:08As we see the birth pangs and the crowning of the sun's head.
- 19:13As we see the blessed return of Jesus Christ.
- 19:17And every single generation needs to be the generation that
- 19:22expects to see the second coming of Christ. 26 For if we sin
- 19:30willfully, after that we have received the knowledge of the
- 19:34truth. There remains no more sacrifice
- 19:38for sins. Jesus is the only way to the
- 19:40Father. There is not Jesus plus another
- 19:43way. There's not Jesus plus another
- 19:46religious leader. It is Jesus alone, and if we
- 19:51turn our backs and become apostate and fall away from the
- 19:55faith, there is no more forgiveness for your sins.
- 20:00And this is not telling us that people are going to lose their
- 20:04salvation. If someone loses their
- 20:06salvation, they never had it to begin with.
- 20:09You can't lose something that you never had to begin with.
- 20:13These are the people who have gotten so close and they were at
- 20:18the door. And they counted the cost, and
- 20:22they found that the cost was too much, and they went back to
- 20:26their vomit friends. 27 But a certain fearful, looking for a
- 20:33judgment, and fiery and indignation which shall devour
- 20:37the adversaries, that is how we work out our salvation, with
- 20:42fear and trembling. 28 He that despised Moses's law died
- 20:49without mercy under two or three witnesses.
- 20:53So here we are, We're on the other side of the law.
- 20:56We're in grace, friends. And how much more despicable is
- 21:02it for somebody to turn their back on a loving God?
- 21:07But here's the reality. If there's breath in your lungs,
- 21:11it's not too late. If you woke up this morning and
- 21:14God's not done with you, you can make it right today.
- 21:18No matter how sinful you have been, no matter how many
- 21:22blasphemies you have spoken, make it right today, for today
- 21:26is the day of salvation. His mercies are new every day,
- 21:30and if you wake up tomorrow, recommit and resurrender your
- 21:35life unto Him as many days as you have left.
- 21:39Every single morning, every single afternoon, and every
- 21:43single evening, get right with God. 29 Of how much sore
- 21:52punishment suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has
- 21:57trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood
- 22:01of the covenant, wherewith He was sanctified, a holy, an
- 22:05unholy thing, and has done despite unto the Spirit of
- 22:09grace. There's no more salvation apart
- 22:15from the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
- 22:19We need not wait on another. He is the Messiah.
- 22:23And how ridiculous is it for us to see all of creation
- 22:29proclaiming His name and that all of creation had to have
- 22:34intelligent design and a Creator, friends, and for us to
- 22:41to have the access to all of the information that we have and for
- 22:46us not to get rooted and grounded and steeped in God's
- 22:50Word. What a tragedy it is, friends.
- 22:53And they have been blinded by the devil, and the seeds have
- 22:57been plucked up by the birds, and the tares and the cares and
- 23:00the snares and the briars and the thorns, and the thistles are
- 23:04choking out the fruit, Friends. And it is shallow soil that is
- 23:09causing them to fall away. We've got to dig in and break up
- 23:14the fallowed ground. We must fall on fertile soil and
- 23:18allow the rain to come and the sun to shine in our lives and be
- 23:23sanctified. Friends. 30 For we know him that
- 23:30has said, Vengeance belongs unto me, and I will repay, says the
- 23:35Lord. And again the Lord shall judge
- 23:37his people. No one will ever stand before
- 23:41God Almighty and say, I did not know.
- 23:46Man is without excuse. All of creation proclaims his
- 23:55name, and if we will not give him his praise, the rocks will
- 23:59cry out. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of
- 24:04the living God. If God is for you, who can be
- 24:09against you? But the reverse is also true.
- 24:15If God is against you, who can be for you?
- 24:20You need to understand that. 32 But call to remembrance the
- 24:28former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a
- 24:32great fight of affliction. One of the worst sins that we
- 24:38could ever commit is the sin of forgetfulness.
- 24:43When God does such an amazing work in our life and we trample
- 24:48upon it as if it's a given, as if it's an expectation, we need
- 24:54to call back to remembrance the goodness of God even when we're
- 24:58in the fight of affliction. 33 Partly while you were made a
- 25:04gazing stock, both by reproaches and afflictions, and partly
- 25:10while you became companions of them that were so used, You can
- 25:15see the 1st century church and all the persecution that they
- 25:19had to endure, and how much persecution God's men and women
- 25:25have had to suffer over the years.
- 25:27This gazing stock, friends, and we have lived in a bubble for
- 25:32most of our lives, but the times are changing. 34 For you had
- 25:39compassion of me and my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling
- 25:45of your goods, knowing in yourselves that you have in
- 25:49heaven a better and enduring substance.
- 25:52We're going to talk about the rewards.
- 25:54And the writer of Hebrews, perhaps Paul the apostle is
- 25:58saying that you did write by me, friends, because you knew that
- 26:04there was a better substance in heaven. 35 Cast not away.
- 26:08Therefore, your confidence, which has great repayment of
- 26:13reward. That is what you need to
- 26:15understand. It is by the blood of Jesus
- 26:17Christ is the only way that we're going to get into heaven.
- 26:20But everything we do from the moment that we put our place,
- 26:24our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, from that moment
- 26:28forward, everything that you do is contingent upon rewards. 36
- 26:35For you have need of patience that after you have done the
- 26:40will of God, you might receive the promise.
- 26:45So we know that all of these afflictions and persecutions
- 26:50will actually produce this perseverance, friends, which
- 26:55produces the character that God is after this process of
- 26:59sanctification. 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall
- 27:08come will come and will not tarry.
- 27:11God knows the full time. He knows the full amount of
- 27:15people that are going to be there, and He's waiting for the
- 27:18last one to come in. And we do not know the day or
- 27:23the hour. Only the Father knows. 38 Now
- 27:28the just shall live by faith. But if any man draw back, my
- 27:33soul shall have no pleasure in him.
- 27:37So you need to know that we live by faith, friends, and not by
- 27:40sight. But if any of us are close to
- 27:44the door, and then we turn and tuck tail because we have seen
- 27:48persecution on the rise, they have lost the battle, they have
- 27:54lost their position, and Christ is the only way to the Father.
- 28:02And if they're running towards self preservation, they're
- 28:06running towards the things of this world.
- 28:10It will always leave them empty. We'll end on 39 But we are not
- 28:17of them who draw back unto perdition, but of them that
- 28:24believe to the saving of the soul.
- 28:28We are not the sons of perdition, we are the sons of
- 28:33Jesus Christ. We cry out ABBA, we have
- 28:36received our adoption. We're not bound for hell.
- 28:41We are bound for the Celestial City, New Jerusalem, City of God
- 28:46forever and ever in His presence.
- 28:49And we are a royal priesthood of Saints, friends, and we will
- 28:53rule and reign with Him for 1000 years.
- 28:56What an amazing thought. Don't pretend to understand it.
- 29:00I just read the word of God and apply it and believe it and that
