- 0:00Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Marc Simone? Three! The
- 0:04Speaker 1: Marc Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays. 710-W-O-R. That's right.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Nine till noon every day. Anyway, let's take some calls.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Let's go to Frank in Phoenix. Frank, how you doing? Frank?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Well, yes, sir. Can you back in July?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Hey, Frank, what's the temperature in Phoenix right now?
- 0:24Speaker 2: It's about a hundred degrees.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I think call us back. Your line is cutting out. Yeah,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I actually know it was like 100 yesterday. 100 in Phoenix.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Let's go to Hal in Freeport. Hal, how are you doing? Yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 1: these big, noisy computers, what do they call those factories?
- 0:43Speaker 1: You mean the data centers? Yeah, put them on the
- 0:47Speaker 1: old ferry, the Staten Island ferries. Put them on there,
- 0:51Speaker 1: bring them out 10 miles, anchor them off. You don't
- 0:56Speaker 1: really have to do that. You know, you can just
- 0:59Speaker 1: put them in remote areas. They don't make as much
- 1:02Speaker 1: noise as an airport does. An airport makes even more noise.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And an airport, you've got LaGuardia right in the middle
- 1:08Speaker 1: of a residential area. You've got Kennedy in the middle
- 1:10Speaker 1: of a residential area. You just put them out somewhere.
- 1:13Speaker 1: The noise is from the turbines, the cooling systems. And
- 1:16Speaker 1: the noise can travel pretty much half a mile. And
- 1:21Speaker 1: it can faintly be heard a mile away. The problem
- 1:24Speaker 1: with those turbines, it's not just noise. It's like a hum,
- 1:26Speaker 1: like a vibrating kind of noise, you know, like a
- 1:29Speaker 1: train rattling going by. But they're basically just enormous buildings
- 1:33Speaker 1: with computers in them. They create lots of jobs. They
- 1:36Speaker 1: power all your AI phones, data, everything. But they're just noisy.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Who's going to put them in remote areas? Frank is back.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Frank in Phoenix, how are you doing?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yes, can you hear me, Mark?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Now you sound good.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Okay, Mark, back in July, the steel beam came through Scottsdale,
- 1:53Speaker 2: and I went down there. About 2.30, they were supposed
- 1:57Speaker 2: to start the proceeding, but it was 110.
- 1:59Speaker 1: You're talking about, you mean the 9-11 steel beam?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And I was getting
- 2:06Speaker 2: ready to leave, and the guy says, go in the museum.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So I went on these two massive trailers, and it
- 2:11Speaker 2: was beautiful. There were six guys in there. Five of
- 2:15Speaker 2: them were retired firemen from New York. I got to
- 2:17Speaker 2: talk to all of them. The one guy told me
- 2:19Speaker 2: that he was supposed to work that day, and one
- 2:22Speaker 2: of his guys called in and asked him if he
- 2:23Speaker 2: would switch days. He goes, he saved my life. Yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry. A lot of those stories. Go ahead.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I have been saying for years, why hasn't Christy Todd
- 2:34Speaker 2: Whitman been called out? Now they find these documents saying
- 2:37Speaker 2: that they knew the air was poisoned. And I was
- 2:40Speaker 2: wondering if Congress was going to call her up and say, listen,
- 2:43Speaker 2: you knew it. What did you do?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what she knows. I'd rather have
- 2:47Speaker 1: him go after Fauci. You know, one thing about her.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I agree.
- 2:50Speaker 1: She's just a politician. She was just a politician towing
- 2:54Speaker 1: the line there, whatever the party line was. In the
- 2:56Speaker 1: case of Fauci, he claimed he was a doctor. He
- 2:58Speaker 1: claimed he was a scientist. For him to lie about
- 3:01Speaker 1: all that stuff was just really, really, really awful. Let's
- 3:05Speaker 1: go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing? Vincent, are.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You there? Hello?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Nope. Call us back. Not your fault. We've got these
- 3:22Speaker 1: phones there. They're not regular phones. They're digital. That's why
- 3:25Speaker 1: sometimes it speeds up the voice. Call us back. Let's
- 3:28Speaker 1: go to Steve, Port Morris. Where's that, in the Bronx?
- 3:32Speaker 1: Port Morris? Ah, there you go. More noise than a
- 3:35Speaker 1: data center.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Great.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Old manufacturing area, nice working class area. Now, we used
- 3:45Speaker 1: to have a factory here. Yeah, very nice. And also,
- 3:49Speaker 1: you got a lot of lofts and stuff there. There's
- 3:51Speaker 1: a lot of artists who work out of there now. Yeah, increasingly.
- 3:55Speaker 1: The developers are trying to make it into Williamsburg. I
- 3:57Speaker 1: don't think it's going to work because... I'm sorry. It's
- 4:00Speaker 1: going to work. You're going to be overrun with those,
- 4:02Speaker 1: what you used to call the yuppies. They're going to
- 4:04Speaker 1: be all over the place. Sorry, you're going to have
- 4:08Speaker 1: a Starbucks everywhere. Oh, look at that. He cut out, too.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Something's wrong with our phones today. We'll see if we
- 4:16Speaker 1: can get it fixed by next hour. Hey, when we
- 4:20Speaker 1: come back, Michael Goodwin will be with us, the greatest
- 4:23Speaker 1: columnist in America. We'll talk to Michael Goodwin coming up
- 4:27Speaker 1: next on 710WOR. com.
