- 0:36Hey, thanks for supporting our channel by watching and
- 0:39listening find. Us on the web at MB radio dot.
- 0:45When life shapes us, when love anchors us, when lost changes
- 0:50us, we are not left behind. We are carried forward, held by
- 0:57faith, rooted in purpose, finding our way.
- 1:02This is carried forward, a space for stories of resilience,
- 1:08purpose and forward resolve. Hi, have you ever had people in
- 1:25your life? I'm going to make sure these
- 1:29have you ever had people in your life that just you're so close
- 1:33to and you see them day-to-day and all that they do that you,
- 1:37you didn't even, you forget how amazing that they are.
- 1:41You know that in your heart. But then you like, but then you
- 1:45think about all the things that they're doing and all the things
- 1:47that they're involved with, and then the things that you have
- 1:50done with them and you realize like, wow, like, why have I, I
- 1:54had them on my podcast? Well, they, that is my, that is
- 1:58my guest today, Terry and her husband, Vince.
- 2:02They have been friends of mine since before my husband passed
- 2:06away. Andy and they came to different
- 2:10things with Andy and Terry cut Andy's hair.
- 2:14And then we've stayed friends since then and I've watched them
- 2:17grow and I know they've probably watched me grow.
- 2:23So I'm honored to have them here today.
- 2:28Just I'm sitting down with them. I just to talk to them about
- 2:32their businesses and their life because it's changed over time.
- 2:38They now have a sweet little girl that wasn't expected.
- 2:43Yeah. And Harper is what, 3, three
- 2:48now? Every years old now and then
- 2:50They have two older sons. And tell me how old they are.
- 2:54Tyler's 20 and then Charlie is 12.
- 2:57Yeah, so. And then Harper's. 3 So yeah,
- 3:01quite the spread, yeah. But with that, I'm, I'm just
- 3:06honored to welcome here. And it's been a blessing to
- 3:09watch their journey unfold and their faith grow.
- 3:14And they've seen my faith grow. And I even had the pleasure of
- 3:18being at Terry's baptism, which was in.
- 3:24Was it 3 years ago? Three years ago.
- 3:26And I just thought it was beautiful.
- 3:28It was in a hot tub. Yeah.
- 3:29Yeah, it was. Yeah.
- 3:31So amazing. And then I've watched them grow
- 3:36in your comfort in your church and then find a church family
- 3:39and all that to start out. Would you guys tell me, like,
- 3:44what is your seasonal life that you're in writing?
- 3:47Because I've seen it change every.
- 3:49Time. Yeah, Yeah.
- 3:51Honestly, I think the new word for me is harmonizing.
- 3:56That's been really on my heart. A lot of harmonizing.
- 4:01Family, work, life, being a wife, being a friend, just
- 4:07harmonizing all those things. That's the type of season of
- 4:10life that I feel like we're in right now is just balance.
- 4:13How do we balance all of that and be present with each one of
- 4:16those in our lives? Yeah.
- 4:20You know, big thing about me right now is taking the family,
- 4:27having Jesus and things of our life that really helped, taking
- 4:31violence. And before that we have it, we
- 4:38was like very controlling. We're just trying to get the
- 4:40handwritten thing. It's all about going on the
- 4:44windmill. And we'll burn now, yeah, but
- 4:49then will we breed Jesus in our life, in the family it tramped
- 4:55through? Yeah.
- 4:58And the more we have him in, it's becoming more all the
- 5:05burden and over here. And He did us the blessing.
- 5:11Yeah. Yeah, I agree with that.
- 5:15That resonates with me right now and my as he's on is that and
- 5:20that's Harper there. She.
- 5:24Is is that I just last night or Wednesday at my Bible study, I
- 5:28was telling him that my capacity with the Lord at the center of
- 5:33my life is so much greater than when he's not.
- 5:38And I, I have more things now on my plate than I did before.
- 5:42And I'm a lot, I'm less stressed because he's at the center.
- 5:47So I get what you're saying. And we'll talk about this real
- 5:51quick. I have this shirt on because
- 5:54it's, it's helping the deaf community.
- 5:58And I was going to mention Vince has his hearing impaired and
- 6:03he's signing. So it's amazing.
- 6:07If you, if you haven't ever worshipped with a deaf person
- 6:11before, you should. It's it's just awesome, Yeah,
- 6:18because they they bring the Holy Spirit in their hands and and
- 6:25I've had the pleasure of worshiping with Vince and being
- 6:30in that and and in the Honduras and watched other girls, young
- 6:36girls that we were there trying, helping and loving on.
- 6:40And it was showing them the love of Jesus.
- 6:42And I watched their faces watching and it was it's that is
- 6:48what I think it will be like in heaven.
- 6:50Like we're going to watch be watching people worship and
- 6:53we're going to be like just in awe.
- 6:55Yeah. You know the.
- 6:57Beautiful thing in 100 where you hear the mischief speaking
- 7:04Danish English and sign off together.
- 7:08Yeah. It's like.
- 7:11Unity, Evan, it's Unity you. Know and that one with the all.
- 7:17Yeah. I'm able to be.
- 7:21Me either. That is true.
- 7:23I'm glad you meant that. Yeah, because I didn't really
- 7:27think about that. But it will like if all
- 7:28languages, everything. Yeah, Aligns.
- 7:33Yeah. That was the beautiful thing is
- 7:35that we all have the same common belief.
- 7:42Jesus, it doesn't matter what language you speak or sound,
- 7:46we're all together. That's what you're trusting
- 7:50about. Yeah.
- 7:51Jesus, that's what they want. Yeah, 100% Yeah, it did.
- 7:55Mine too. I mean, yeah, 'cause Jesus isn't
- 7:58saying and no matter what language, right?
- 8:03Amen. So both of them are
- 8:08entrepreneurs. I have.
- 8:11I've been working with Terry for quite some time.
- 8:14She's a client of mine. I'm a client of hers.
- 8:18Yes. She owns a natural hair salon in
- 8:21San Antonio and what what I help her with is her course
- 8:25development. She's also opened up the Root of
- 8:29Knowledge Academy and we're getting that spin up.
- 8:34And Vince also has recently opened up his own business and
- 8:42tell me the name of it because it's not committed.
- 8:45Stamar Shamar OK. And when did you open that up?
- 8:52I actually started on August 8, two months ago.
- 8:58OK. And tell us a little bit and
- 9:02then we'll come back to Terry. But tell us a little bit about
- 9:05your company because Vince has worked for the government for
- 9:09many years. I actually worked for three
- 9:11years and then I work with the private company for 12 years.
- 9:19Do an environmental yes. Explain that a little bit about
- 9:23what you do for the mark. So in my little big blog, but
- 9:28I'm more daily mailed in to the air quality.
- 9:32So my job would focus on getting a client, a business owner of
- 9:39the operator to get the airplane to authorize the operating
- 9:46things in the atmosphere like the emission.
- 9:48So for example, my biggest clientele was oil gas.
- 9:54So my job is to provide them the air for me at the shape to
- 9:59approve it and then also help them to have a compliance to
- 10:04force without where they can maintain.
- 10:06This is based in the federal mandatories.
- 10:11OK. So it's a it's a very unique
- 10:14environmental fear because it's a very high complex mandatories
- 10:22and plummeting and consolation compared to like water or waste
- 10:29if you're very simple, but like air just more complicated.
- 10:32So the very high level. Air is always changing too.
- 10:37Kind of hard to find somebody who have that kind of mindset.
- 10:41Second, understanding consolation law writing
- 10:48chemistry so many different. OK, so, so but you, so you
- 10:55branched off from your private company.
- 10:57You you stopped working with them and now you've started your
- 11:00own company. So back in April, that was the
- 11:06piece where please handle stress and I had a huge wake up call
- 11:14from last year medical that would really impact me
- 11:20personally in my family to reconsider because I have I have
- 11:28a in my head a. Cyst.
- 11:32And that's terrifying, but at the same time I wasn't telephone
- 11:37because I trusted and died and there OK, guys, This is why I'm
- 11:43not going to be I'm not going to be afraid, but I realize that
- 11:47I'm the silver. So I promise my daughter bridge
- 11:51happened again and it's a step down.
- 11:54So then it came back again and then it's been very challenged
- 11:59and then I decided to tremendous left Elvis even though the
- 12:04financial impact on this and the unknown.
- 12:10Yeah. So that really that was hard,
- 12:13but I put my trust in my bed. OK.
- 12:17This is going to be my first time on 300.
- 12:20Yeah, just surrendering to the Lord and where whatever happens,
- 12:26happens. And then I'd be sure woman and
- 12:33Cyril got pulled me down. And then there was a lady from
- 12:40the ECB that were looking for air plumbing guys and she's
- 12:43there. You're the only one that I know
- 12:45in the parent's area that need air.
- 12:47So they need somebody to help that ECB.
- 12:48And then I was OK. I'm kind of open to it.
- 12:51That was kind of weird. It was like 10 months, nothing
- 12:56good. Then I'll mention her.
- 12:59I would free to take with her a couple of times without a lot of
- 13:01technician. So I pray the night and I asked
- 13:08him OK God, I'm not sure what you want me to do, show me
- 13:13something. Next morning he gave me true
- 13:16content. Oh.
- 13:20Wow, that wow. OK, I obey him and then I
- 13:27realized I need to have a business to protest.
- 13:30I was just trying to protest the pushing or unusual, you know.
- 13:35So I go ahead and create a business.
- 13:39But before I do that, I was trying to figure out what would
- 13:41be the mean. OK so I played a game and then
- 13:46when I opened up the book it was in Janitus 215 and it's still
- 13:55the war guys put them in and put in the Garden of Eden to take
- 14:05care. And then I look it up and I said
- 14:10OK and it is the Hebrew word of Tamar and then Tamar it mean and
- 14:18bird which is to keep to guard to over 1 to perjure.
- 14:26And after this is it so Stammar and down there when I look the
- 14:32name around the world, no one have that name and I did that's
- 14:39new word. So I set up the daily name for
- 14:4315 months. Love.
- 14:46That that gives me chills. So Shamar environmental and tell
- 14:51me the verse again. It's Genesis.
- 14:54Chapter two 16214 OK. That's awesome.
- 14:59So protectors of the garden. Yeah, I love that.
- 15:06And and I know you and like how much that means to you.
- 15:11Like, like how that's not just you.
- 15:18Take that to heart. Right.
- 15:20Yeah, yeah. That's not just you going, oh,
- 15:23oh, it meant something. And I feel the Lord is saying
- 15:26that like you take it to heart and we're going to take the
- 15:29heart and. I really told my wife that I do
- 15:32not want to create an involvemental business because I
- 15:39have seen from the other owner who gone through a lot of
- 15:44shamans, a lot of struggle. And I'm like, I don't want to be
- 15:48in my shoe. Yeah, but God has shown me
- 15:51different path that doesn't not need to be in that world, right?
- 15:56But we can get together, yeah. And he if he, if he's your
- 15:59business partner. Managing for him, Yeah.
- 16:05And I love it. I love it.
- 16:07It's not about my company. It's basically the founder of
- 16:11managing for his community and he gave a lot of blessing.
- 16:16I have less time working and making good up income to support
- 16:22my families and I feel more relaxed in that dress.
- 16:28And not that you're important to move the pressure in my my
- 16:32medical situation. And that's when I moved because
- 16:35guy, I don't know what I moved and he provides.
- 16:38Yeah, it's it's too real. It's like it was out of blue
- 16:45that you bring us long term comic on track.
- 16:50Yeah. And I told her my wife dairy was
- 16:55like, wow, that guy. Oh, wife dairy.
- 17:03Yeah. Tell us how you feel about that
- 17:06and then we'll talk a little bit about Epadaro.
- 17:09I think, you know, honestly, I'm proud of you.
- 17:13Thanks for making that room. And I know that it was scary in
- 17:16the moment and there's a lot of back and forth and I think in
- 17:21the family just that kind of. But I think what also helped is
- 17:25bringing Jesus back into the center of this family and
- 17:28trusting and moving forward and moving forward.
- 17:33That's the key. That's what I think in marriage
- 17:36that's important is to support and if one's fallen, what can we
- 17:41do to get, you know, get you out of that?
- 17:44That's and it goes both ways. I really believe that a lot, you
- 17:49know. So because I've seen, I've
- 17:52watched you guys support one another, because Terry's been
- 17:56her own business owner, too, and you've supported her and loving
- 18:00her and, and doing all kinds of things.
- 18:02So now she's returning the favor.
- 18:05Yeah. She's they're teaching me a lot
- 18:08of things. How long have you had Evadaro?
- 18:16Evadaro is the name of Terry's Natural hair Salon in San
- 18:21Antonio. 10 years. Well, ten years, 10 years of
- 18:25ownership of that and 18 years as a hairdresser and he's been
- 18:31with me the whole way through my ups and downs and all the way
- 18:35the loops around and he's been on.
- 18:39The. Adventure.
- 18:40With me so so she has some lessons to learn again to share
- 18:44with you Yep Yep, along the way I mean and.
- 18:48He's been through those lessons, I mean.
- 18:50So yeah, yeah, it's not like you were on the sad lines.
- 18:54You were in there, too. He was in there.
- 18:56Kyle Keep. Going.
- 18:59Yeah, I. I want to say something about
- 19:02scary. I'm also a spot of hers for the
- 19:08last three years. She also transforming her SO and
- 19:15the business. Yeah, I've witnessed that too.
- 19:21They were kind of hard at first, but she found to get better at
- 19:27demanding and let him go. And then the blossom coming in.
- 19:33Recently, right now is the blessing.
- 19:36Yeah, and she's learned the lesson of saying no.
- 19:40Yes, I'm seeing. That, Yeah, yeah.
- 19:47And it's kind of beautiful to watch you do that and even
- 19:49saying no to yourself, right, Which I think is the hardest.
- 19:55Yeah, that has been the hardest, but it just like with Shamar
- 19:58Environmental, it being God's business and for me to how it's
- 20:02helped me to surrender is using the gifts and talents that He's
- 20:06given me and now turning and sharing those gifts and talents
- 20:10for others. That's really what He's been
- 20:12revealing to me a lot now recently.
- 20:15And I think it's always been in my heart.
- 20:17But more so how can I be a steward?
- 20:20I'm his vessel. This is your business.
- 20:24What can I do for you to glorify you every single day?
- 20:27Keep moving. So the more of that perspective,
- 20:30the more shifts your mind and and letting go of the control.
- 20:34I think if you are yeah. And in your heart, right?
- 20:39Definitely. Because you can say that, right?
- 20:42But your heart has to. Say you have to.
- 20:44Yeah. And invite the Holy Spirit every
- 20:46single day to remind you, Jeremiah.
- 20:50So yeah. Yeah, I was thinking about my
- 20:53own stuff. And we're all a work in progress
- 20:57on this side of heaven. So tell us a little bit about
- 21:03it's all about and then share with us how that has been
- 21:07showing up lately where you were saying the Lord is showing you
- 21:10to Stewart Stewart, all of that. So talk about Ecuador first,
- 21:14because we we haven't even mentioned what it really is.
- 21:17Oh yeah. And.
- 21:18So it is a natural salon and what that means.
- 21:21So I'll just start from it all started when I was a kid and
- 21:25walking out the door, going to school, my mom giving me fresh,
- 21:28fresh carrot juice before I even understood what that meant.
- 21:32Thank you mom, and thank you God for you know, so the natural,
- 21:36definitely organic, all of that aligns with how my mom raised
- 21:40me. And then being in the industry
- 21:43and serving guests, I've seen many people come to me with
- 21:46sensitivities, cancer, dermatitis, just all these
- 21:50different things that has opened those doors.
- 21:53And so why I want to move Clean Beauty more into our industry is
- 21:59that there are better ways, right, to bring.
- 22:02And I've seen them first hand, being behind the chair for 18
- 22:05years, things that have worked, somebody that's gone through
- 22:08remission, being able to offer them something that is a little
- 22:11bit more on the tree inside. And I just visited Bologna,
- 22:15Italy. That's the I know, right, the
- 22:19product and that's, and what's amazing is the product line that
- 22:22I use away. It's called organic Whey, but it
- 22:27aligns with a lot with what Vince was saying about it all
- 22:30starts with the soil, right. So I like to think of it as as
- 22:34I'm using clean beauty, we start with the soil.
- 22:37So our scalp is like the soil and what we put on it is what's
- 22:41going to make it stronger. And so the farm in Bologna where
- 22:45that really sticks out to me is seeing a company that does take
- 22:50care of the environment, that truly does take care of what
- 22:54they're putting in the products. And so that's where I've always
- 22:59been my driver of having the natural salon.
- 23:02But now how bringing Jesus into the business, it's more so now
- 23:07how can I educate more people because I feel like there's a
- 23:10lot more sensitivities happening.
- 23:12There's a lot, you know, process I think of like processed foods,
- 23:17it's same in turn with processed products.
- 23:19That's kind of how I look at it, right?
- 23:21So it's just bringing more awareness on that and how to
- 23:28teach stylists. But at the end of the day, as
- 23:31stylists, we're servers, right? That's that's our business is
- 23:35serving people. So how can now we turn and share
- 23:38his light by being a good steward, me walking.
- 23:42He's he's he's in control of the which direction I walk, but also
- 23:46implementing the education of his life through our industry
- 23:50and through the people that might be sitting through your
- 23:52chair. You know, it's he's showing that
- 23:56that way. And I I want to be like Jesus
- 23:58every single day. And and I hope that as I
- 24:02continue on this journey that his life will radiate so more
- 24:06people will come to his life. So in hindsight, yeah, that's.
- 24:10And that in the natural. Salon, Evadaro salon and all of
- 24:14that so. Tell us what Evadaro stands.
- 24:17For Evadaro means beautiful Princess or beautiful goddess,
- 24:23or for beautiful gentlemen, kind of like.
- 24:26In Korea, and so Terry has been doing natural hair salon before.
- 24:35It was cool, yes. From way like, well, pretty
- 24:41much, yeah. My whole, my whole career, it
- 24:43was very lonely for a while. I'm really excited that our
- 24:47industry is definitely moving more towards that.
- 24:50We're seeing a lot more of that. So it's exciting to be because
- 24:53of that. The the way I found Terry became
- 24:56friends with her is Andy his disease he also had where his
- 25:01body did not detox properly. So I'm, I started getting rid of
- 25:06everything toxic in our life. And then I, that even came to me
- 25:12like even though Andy didn't get his hair colored or anything
- 25:16like that, but I did. And so I was trying to get all
- 25:20the toxins out of our life as much as possible because you
- 25:23can't eliminate all of them. And then that's how I came
- 25:27across Terry in her salon because she was one of the only
- 25:30two natural hair salons in San Antonio.
- 25:36And I did go to the other person one, but I've found Harry and I
- 25:39just liked it was well, more well suited for me.
- 25:45And back then we're using away. Yeah.
- 25:50And so I now, however many years later, I'm still going.
- 25:56To, I know it was organic color systems maybe and then we
- 25:59switched over to a work. Yeah, I think that's where we
- 26:01get it anyway. Yeah, an organic hair color and
- 26:07I was trying to think when that was that would have, it's been
- 26:09over 10 years, I'd say like. 14 years.
- 26:16And I initially was a client just getting my hair done and
- 26:22Andy's haircut. And then I, I guess I, I don't
- 26:28even know how I came about and doing your horse development.
- 26:32But anyway I. Think we're probably doing the
- 26:36color and talking and then this idea like I always do.
- 26:43And I was like, hey, like I do that kind of stuff.
- 26:46And yeah, it has been, I've been doing that since 2023.
- 26:51I think it's yeah, it's been. And I and it's been so cool
- 26:55because I've, I've developed a lot of training for Terry in
- 27:00house and manuals because that's just my bed and bread and
- 27:04butter. Like from being in the military,
- 27:07like since I was 18. I like just it works.
- 27:09It clicks in my head like. System.
- 27:12Then so, but I've seen full circle like things I've built
- 27:18for her or her employees have when they're doing my hair, they
- 27:24don't know who I am because I'm not in the forefront of her.
- 27:28But they'll be telling me different things that they've
- 27:30learned and trained on or all asking questions and they like
- 27:36are telling me things that I have developed for her.
- 27:40And it's amazing. Like yay, that actually helped
- 27:43them. You know, it's not about me, but
- 27:45it's just I'm excited that what I've created for you has
- 27:49actually worked and helped you like.
- 27:52Be recognized. Yeah, be organized and trying to
- 27:54light on what you're trying to teach them, right, right.
- 27:57Because Terry is all about teaching her hair stylist like
- 28:04to be more educated. And it's not about Terry and the
- 28:07salon, it's about them and their growth.
- 28:09Absolutely. And like how they can become
- 28:12better hair stylists and better serve their flight a bit.
- 28:17Be better or be a steward so and everything you're doing.
- 28:21And so I've helped her do that and seen it come full circle.
- 28:25So it's amazing to do that. And then Terry's just a delight
- 28:29to be around. She has energy and just it's
- 28:36awesome. That's why I heard those funky
- 28:38Hopper and yes. She is.
- 28:46But I I've just been blessed to see both of you and I've gotten
- 28:49to know Vince a little bit better through action.
- 28:54Learned a lot. Honduras.
- 28:57Honduras trip, Our mission trip. Yeah, because I knew Vince just
- 29:01kind of as Terry's husband. But then when we went to the
- 29:04Honduras trip together, which we went with a radiate coalition to
- 29:09Honduras and we were at, what's the name of the house?
- 29:16It doesn't matter. But yeah, we went and we were
- 29:22with young ladies that just needed some Lebanon.
- 29:26That have been traffic that. Yeah, I've been saved from a
- 29:30life of traffic and we were sharing the love of Jesus.
- 29:34And I think that's the most important thing.
- 29:36Not not necessarily even preaching to people, but you're
- 29:39coming to them and they're like, Jesus is loving me and I'm going
- 29:42to love you the way that's his love, right?
- 29:45And you felt his love. That's that's where we saw his
- 29:50presence big time. And that's where I got to know
- 29:55Vincent a little bit better and just seeing his love for the
- 30:00Lord and this how he wanted to share that with others and how
- 30:04he's bold in his faith. And that's been really blessing
- 30:09to see. Things being boring and beating
- 30:15the truth it what Jesus knew. But sometimes I have to admit I
- 30:24didn't have to fear that obey the Lord, I should do it.
- 30:31Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah, I think if you
- 30:33didn't have some fear, we'd be a little bit sorry.
- 30:38Yeah, then arrogance by. So now it's just been I mean to
- 30:46see you guys have grown over all this time and they've seen me
- 30:51walk through some grief and lose my husband and see him sick and
- 30:56all that and they've they've stayed true friends.
- 30:58They didn't get weirded out or scared away.
- 31:03And yeah, it's just been beautiful to journey with you
- 31:06guys and watch your journey, watch your marriage get stronger
- 31:11and then even like as you're your fate has gotten stronger,
- 31:14just watch you become, I don't know, even more beautiful in
- 31:20walking your journey as parents and us as spouses.
- 31:23Yeah. It's been beautiful.
- 31:25Thank you, Jesus. It's been fun watching you too,
- 31:28Shawna. Thank.
- 31:31You, yeah, I was going to be looking and I, I do remember.
- 31:36And then after his passing and then your struggle and your solo
- 31:41journey and also being your daughters, it changed a lot
- 31:49until now. And I also see you're grown.
- 31:53Yeah. And you're you're more delight
- 31:58than your children. I am, yeah.
- 32:00That's because of the Lord. Yeah, that's that Holy Spirit
- 32:03giving me some joy. Joy and patience and kindness.
- 32:07And. Right.
- 32:10But so just love that, love that you guys noticed that of me
- 32:15because I definitely have noticed it in you guys.
- 32:17So let's talk about about your faith and your transformation.
- 32:26I remember your bantism you spoke about and that seemed to
- 32:31be like an important part of your journey of like the
- 32:36starting of this. Yeah.
- 32:39Of. And I've seen some real like the
- 32:41Holy Spirit changing, right. And you have been one of two
- 32:47people that I've been of course, been personal to see like the
- 32:52Holy Spirit like change you and it be sweet, but a rat.
- 33:00And we're back. We're back.
- 33:04So Terry, you, we were talking about your baptism and kind of
- 33:07like the change after that. You want to share with us what
- 33:13that meant for you and Vince, if you'll share what that meant for
- 33:17you too. Well, that's a good question.
- 33:22What that meant for me, it's when I got submersed in the
- 33:26water, it was me turning away from my old self.
- 33:30But I'm telling you, the first year was rough.
- 33:32It wasn't easy to he, he spoke a lot of truth into me and it's
- 33:40accepting those truths about me and the shame things that I've
- 33:43done, you know, all those things that I've been carrying weight
- 33:46and stuff. And that first year was him just
- 33:49kind of pulling me down deep, digging down deep.
- 33:54And it was very my first very Bible studies.
- 33:58She was on Joseph. But I think the one that really
- 34:02where he really spoke to me a lot was in Hagar and how God
- 34:07meets you where no matter what you are Hagar in the desert, in
- 34:10the middle of the desert after you know, you know the story
- 34:13about Hagar, right? Run away.
- 34:16Shit, yes, that was really where I, my freedom came in to start
- 34:23that relationship and that. Hunger for His word and.
- 34:26Wanting to learn more and and just that journey of wanting to
- 34:30just continuously to keep reading his word and I have to
- 34:34say his word is what is the food is what is feeding me to help
- 34:39change and transform and really recognize like hey, that's he's
- 34:45created me for his purpose, not let my old ways all that it's
- 34:50turned away from that. Yeah, the salt pillar of salt,
- 34:54the Saddam, the story that one always don't ever look back.
- 34:58That's not who you are. You know, so that's what that
- 35:01meant for me in that journey and I'm still.
- 35:05Growing and moving forward. Moving forward, Yeah, don't.
- 35:09Don't dwell on that. I mean, we all come from hurt,
- 35:13but now it's recognizing that hurt and being OK in his
- 35:18presence with it, you know, and now recognizing how can, how can
- 35:22I serve for somebody else? We're all hurting in this world.
- 35:26And when? So when the Lord did meet you?
- 35:29Yeah. Was he gentle?
- 35:34Like, tell me about that. I'm going to shut.
- 35:36This. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:38Sorry. You got TV in the background.
- 35:45He was very gentle. I think it was more that was me
- 35:49being hard on it, but he was definitely gentle as far as the
- 35:54delivery more repeated. Yeah, more repeated times.
- 35:58And the reason to ask that is because, like he showed to me
- 36:01some things that I need to repent of and like come to him
- 36:05and ask for forgiveness. And he's always gentle, like I'm
- 36:10a hard on myself and I'm beating myself up.
- 36:12But he always shows up in this like, you know what?
- 36:16Yeah. I'm showing you this because I
- 36:18love you. Yeah.
- 36:19And I don't want you to. Carry this anymore?
- 36:21Yeah. Yeah, he definitely did that for
- 36:23me. Any people he's placed in my
- 36:26life throughout this whole journey, too.
- 36:30I have to give it to my friend Natalie, too.
- 36:32That's kind of took in me and explain to me the Bible, how to
- 36:36read the Bible and things like that.
- 36:38And I really appreciate her because she helped also to
- 36:43gently remind me as I was going like the first, very first Bible
- 36:46study, I sat and I'm like, why are these people so joy joyful?
- 36:49I don't understand. I'm not a joyful person, but
- 36:53like truly to feel the joy and it radiating.
- 36:57And I was like, gosh, I want more of that.
- 36:59You know, what does that mean? And but my pride, of course, was
- 37:03in the way. And a lot of things, I think I
- 37:05was born in a Korean culture where you're raised to be very
- 37:10independent womanpower. I grew up in the 90s too, so it
- 37:13was all Spice Girls womanpower, you know?
- 37:17But I love how he's layered me and it and it's so beautiful
- 37:23and, and also feeling that alone.
- 37:26I think a lot of it is the loneliness that I felt for a
- 37:28very long time and the void that I kept putting in with things of
- 37:33my work, trying to fill the loneliness.
- 37:37And he's definitely revealed that I'm not alone.
- 37:41Every single Bible story that I read, who's in it?
- 37:45God, He's, he sees you where you're at.
- 37:47He's always with you. Woman at the water.
- 37:50Well, I mean that that one always a Samaritan woman.
- 37:54He's the first person he spoke to, yes.
- 37:56It's amazing, Yeah. So he's done amazing things and
- 38:00he's still continuing to do amazing things.
- 38:02So and I just, it's been, it's been really beautiful.
- 38:07And I have to give it to Vince too.
- 38:09He's always had faith from day one since we've met with.
- 38:15And he's just, and she's always been my rock in that way as
- 38:19well. Just reminding me.
- 38:21So I have to give it to him too, but.
- 38:26Yeah, it's been, yeah, it's been amazing.
- 38:29Yeah, it's an amazing journey and I've.
- 38:32I've seen through you his light shine and then like just the
- 38:39Terry's always been a super kind person.
- 38:42But like the kindness has even amplified more like when when
- 38:48Jesus is bleeding that like like her kindness is not no longer an
- 38:54obligation to be kind. Yeah, you can.
- 38:58I'm doing that. It just flows through her and
- 39:01like it's kindness because she feels the kindness, not like I
- 39:06have to be kind. Right, I can see that.
- 39:09People. Please, I like to say I'm
- 39:12pleasing the Lord. That's it.
- 39:16So then what is What did that day mean for you?
- 39:20Her baptism? Did it change anything in you
- 39:26or? I mean, it did.
- 39:28I were very not shocked but very surprised when Terry came in and
- 39:37did they. I'm good at that time.
- 39:45Where did that come from? What happened here?
- 39:48You know that it it the blessing.
- 39:51It was like the painting. So she did her baptized and then
- 39:57I start to see her slow and it was a struggle in the beginning,
- 40:02but she's motivated reading the Bible, telling even with an inch
- 40:06or in the eye. It really helped her she
- 40:08navigate. Chicken with the word of God and
- 40:14that really helps and I personally decided to read that.
- 40:21Site to OK be. With the six month, 8 month
- 40:25after she did OK, I keep getting the the mudge to read that type
- 40:34and the reason why I had that mudge is because I knew that I
- 40:37did that type all of the baby, but I don't remember like I
- 40:42mean, obviously we were being available.
- 40:44So I was talking to my pastor Lily that just on that one
- 40:49church and just pointed to me like, you know, I did baptized
- 40:52in the Romans church and is it long to be baptized Looking at
- 40:58me and at the well, you guys are baptizing now.
- 41:04Can I do it now? And we have one more room for
- 41:08you. So I went in with my gene and he
- 41:13said you have up your clothes. I said well thank God I do, it's
- 41:16in my trust. So then went in and got re backs
- 41:20out. I feel.
- 41:26Yeah. Renewed.
- 41:29Relieved I don't feel the guilt because God had been told me to
- 41:33be godson for a long time that in my wish I will kind of
- 41:38rebelled. But even though when Terry was
- 41:41saying that I do have to yes, I believe in Jesus all my life,
- 41:46but what I have realized was I would be Luke.
- 41:51OK yeah. It's like yeah, I believe in
- 41:54Jesus Christ, but I would not form.
- 41:57I see Yeah. You are on a relationship.
- 42:00Yeah. There's a difference.
- 42:02There's a difference. So my God be baptized and then I
- 42:10told Trish, God is telling me we need to create a deaf Bible
- 42:18setting. She looking at me and she
- 42:21thought, Oh no, I have that same message what she have.
- 42:30It was guy time. So we both did it at the same
- 42:33time and we create one and then we go from there and be honest
- 42:37with you creating a Bible study. I was nervous because I don't
- 42:43read the Bible word. I don't know the word and I'm
- 42:46not ready to help other. The guy pushed.
- 42:52That's that's kind of his mode of operation.
- 42:55Yeah. He like he likes to get people
- 42:57that need him to do what he wants them to do.
- 43:01Throwing me on the other side that I have never seen before
- 43:05and it it's a blessing because I'm learning Yeah go during that
- 43:15journey after I got down kite my my third time alone longer,
- 43:21faster and closer with Jesus everyday and be more like him.
- 43:26I love that. So you created a Bible study for
- 43:31the deaf community? Or.
- 43:34So tell us we're working on the deaf community that we realize
- 43:39that guy it also helping other family, mostly the parents who
- 43:46have the deaf children that have no the background of the GAF
- 43:52kosher or the GAF community. And we realize why we're here.
- 43:57It's because you're helping them to understand and they're
- 44:01learning some language more and building the confidence in
- 44:07knowing that their children have their potential than they think.
- 44:13They see the example of me and Trish.
- 44:17Yeah. I love that because most of
- 44:22their parents are here. Yep.
- 44:28So let's talk about your marriage, your communities with
- 44:34the deaf community and Terry, your, your involvement with
- 44:38that. And then just your hair
- 44:40community too, because you're I know of late we've been talking
- 44:46about when we're developing stuff to ensure that we're
- 44:49showing the, you know, Jesus love women.
- 44:54You, you feel on your heart that in the hair community that
- 44:58needs, there's a need. Yeah.
- 45:00Yeah, absolutely. Talk to me about that and then
- 45:03you can talk to me more about the deaf community.
- 45:06So as far as community, I think community is definitely
- 45:10important to have. And I think that's what I love
- 45:12about my job is I get to serve people every single day.
- 45:16That can be can turn into community as well.
- 45:19But as far as our industry, and I think I think of any industry,
- 45:24right? And how can we be of that
- 45:27steward of that position, no matter where we're at, even if
- 45:31we're not, if it's not a non believer, how do we show up for
- 45:35them as a non believer? And I did, I would lead, I did
- 45:40lead a Bible study group last year, kind of like then.
- 45:44So I was like, they asked me and I was like, I don't know what
- 45:47I'm doing, but I have to say, I, you know, when that door is
- 45:52open, you say yes. And I learned a lot being a
- 45:54leader because it put me in the position that, you know, it
- 45:57motivated me to. I need to read everything that
- 46:00I'm doing and be prepared So when I do go to everybody, but
- 46:05that kind of so I stopped doing that and now I'm just a
- 46:08participant, but that set me up to how can I now do that in my
- 46:13work environment? How can I, how can I put
- 46:17implement into that? Had to speak up in front of
- 46:20people. Not my favorite thing to do, but
- 46:23I, I was put in that position last year and the leadership and
- 46:27I really appreciate it because as he's sharpening my sword,
- 46:31right to be that person. And then as far as marriage, I
- 46:38definitely love that our conversations are now more
- 46:41biblical. We talk about scripture, we talk
- 46:44about how can we improve it. And also our kids are hearing
- 46:47that where it used to be come home, complain about our day
- 46:52because we're exhausted or this this happened and it was just
- 46:56it's now transformed into, hey, this was our day.
- 47:01How did we handle the situation and talking to our children that
- 47:05way as well. I think that that's been a
- 47:07really big thing in our marriage and taking time with each other
- 47:13too, which that we're still working on that.
- 47:17Have you seen a, have you seen a chain in your children from that
- 47:21shift and you guys? Absolutely.
- 47:24I think it it even with our oldest one.
- 47:29OK, I mean, he, he wasn't raised, he didn't raise him in a
- 47:34church environment, but he at least to send him to church
- 47:39groups and activities. He.
- 47:40Went to Tyler, I got to know him better because he went to Camp
- 47:44Agape and that's a Christian organization.
- 47:49And it was interesting to see him like, because I could, I
- 47:53could tell that he was not familiar with like the Christian
- 47:58kind of ways of doing things, but he was interested and he was
- 48:04curious and he had some good questions that he asked.
- 48:09And yeah, I enjoyed seeing that. And then I even, I don't know, I
- 48:19don't know if he remembers this, but well, I mean, he's not here
- 48:22to talk. But like there was even a
- 48:24situation that I tried to gently correct because someone
- 48:27questioned if he was a Christian or went to church or whatever.
- 48:31And he answered honestly and was like, no, I'm like, you know,
- 48:35and I was like, and it doesn't matter.
- 48:38Like he's here to help. And like, isn't that the point?
- 48:42Like we want to reach others that are not in in Christ and,
- 48:49and show that they can help and then therefore we can help them.
- 48:53Yeah, yeah. And say, hey, like this is what
- 48:56you can be involved with. And this is how we love all
- 48:59people and, and it doesn't matter.
- 49:02If you if. You know the world right now.
- 49:04He knows you. Right.
- 49:06And we love you. Right.
- 49:07Yeah, Yeah. I think that in turn kind of
- 49:10feeding off of that one part is God's created each one of us and
- 49:16to now look at people believing or non believer.
- 49:18I think it's it's important you're farmers.
- 49:21That's how I like to say we're farmers and we got to keep
- 49:23plowing, keep seeding, keep throwing the seeds out there in
- 49:26the field. Because I'm grateful, right?
- 49:30Cultivating because I have to say throughout my younger years
- 49:34and throughout, there's always been people that he's placed in
- 49:37my life that were constantly throwing seeds my way.
- 49:40And I have refused at the time. But now I'm so grateful because
- 49:44those I do think about those moments when people did share
- 49:47their experience or try to correct me and I appreciate them
- 49:50now. Look, they come back.
- 49:52And so I could be that person. We all could be that person to
- 49:55somebody, right? Or that seat back to the
- 49:57marriage of Tyler. He, he sees the transformation.
- 50:04I, I, I really think in our family.
- 50:07And every time we do prayer, he joins in the prayer.
- 50:10He doesn't question it. He doesn't he's not, he's I just
- 50:13he's very flexible and open to it.
- 50:16Yeah. But he had a lot of questions,
- 50:20and I don't blame that because I used to be like that, you know,
- 50:25like when I was in school, I learned science.
- 50:30Yeah, it's very different. But we're being very patient.
- 50:37They're giving them time, you know, And now we're Speaking of
- 50:40the other two kids. We didn't force it.
- 50:45We didn't we made them do what we want them to do.
- 50:49We should get down and say that's what we're doing today.
- 50:52If you want to join us, go ahead.
- 50:54And then the intro and one thing I really love is we have our
- 50:58weather Bible study every Thursday with a different family
- 51:04and we've got. 44 different families that get together every
- 51:07Thursday night and we break right, we're going to go.
- 51:11They look real, I'm for sure. Yeah.
- 51:22Yeah, we did A and and what what we do every Thursday is we first
- 51:27engage the kids first with the first like last Thursday, one of
- 51:31our friends, Jenny, I love she put a play together for all of
- 51:36us off the Samaritan woman at the well.
- 51:39And then one was the when Jesus on the storm and the storm in
- 51:44the sea. So the kids reenacted that like
- 51:49and just said things like that. And then we break out in session
- 51:53and and then it's the adults that come together and then we
- 51:56pick a topic like last week. It was hope.
- 51:59So every Thursday for the past two years has it been, I think
- 52:03one year? One year and a.
- 52:05Half a year and a half, almost two years that we've been
- 52:08meeting every Thursday night. So they all have kids.
- 52:12They all have kids. So for community, I mean, we all
- 52:16look forward to that, you know? And yeah.
- 52:19Teen, other family also growing. Oh my gosh, that would be just
- 52:23saying like one year ago where we all were and how they've
- 52:28we've all transformed Florida, Florida.
- 52:31After building that soil, huh? Changing in careers and then
- 52:35they had another person change career, change jobs from the
- 52:39same time. It's kind of funny it all
- 52:41happened and just different things.
- 52:43And able to support one another. Exactly.
- 52:46That's amazing. Yeah.
- 52:47So yeah, community is so. Important.
- 52:49We share our opinion, our journey, and we're helping.
- 52:54Sure, yeah. That's what community is
- 52:56supposed to be about. Yeah, not about perfection, but
- 52:59like, hey, we're having a hard time with this.
- 53:01Can you ask? What would you do or can you
- 53:04pray for me or absolutely having the hard conversations?
- 53:10So Vince, tell us a little bit about the deaf community and
- 53:13like, so you started the the Bible study and like share
- 53:18whatever you want to share about that.
- 53:23So with the dead Bible saying there's something that very
- 53:29critical is that there's only 2% of the deaf population in the
- 53:37world know Jesus. So only 2% know Jesus.
- 53:45To me, when I saw that number, I felt I was kind of no way.
- 53:51And it breaks my heart. And then I realized that the
- 53:56communication barrier and they are hungry, but they're hurting
- 54:04you because of the Justin. So for example, there's so many
- 54:09different charters, but they don't have them in trouble.
- 54:15OK. And they asked for that.
- 54:17Oh Nope, sorry, no interpreter. And then they have to go farther
- 54:22and farther and farther. So there's a lot of barriers.
- 54:27So I realized why God put me in there, because He sharpened my
- 54:31blade by manner He cared anytime in his room.
- 54:38There will be a day where we're going to start blaming the word
- 54:44of God. What faster than we think should
- 54:47out reach the deaf community and also not only deaf community,
- 54:54but starting the awareness about well in the meeting to have a
- 55:00new vision answer and I would really wonder example was the
- 55:04white manner media through the content coming up in two weeks
- 55:10in November 5th year November or since May we request from each
- 55:14other and like Nope, that's a good.
- 55:19There's a conference coming up for what?
- 55:23There's a conference in Dallas from big benders work to exist
- 55:28and they have like many different pasture like well, no,
- 55:33and we have a worship, but everybody coming.
- 55:36But we requested to interpret it, but unfortunately they're
- 55:39not home. They're going to provide it
- 55:41because of the budget. And they're like, no, I budget.
- 55:47So some definite year to two years.
- 55:49So we paid for it. We, we accommodate the hotel.
- 55:53It was right now. So we involved at many different
- 55:58level of people. And after that it's just saying
- 56:02no, no, no, no. And then that's where session I
- 56:05decided, you know what? Their heart is hardened.
- 56:09So he's told. And then the you, they're from
- 56:13you, you're knighted. Then that's it, the community
- 56:21united and then we should got a good news last Monday last.
- 56:26Monday. They said we have somebody that
- 56:30willing to donate their time to interpret it.
- 56:35Oh, that's amazing that. Prayer, but it take a lot of
- 56:40layer, Yeah, it shouldn't go through lots of challenge and
- 56:45barrier and that's where the deaf community are beaching all
- 56:48the time. So they give up.
- 56:52So we want to change from that 2% to 90%.
- 56:57That's the missionary right now that we're looking at and it's
- 57:02not only my choice, but we collaborate.
- 57:09So I mean that we can't do it online, and it's not only one
- 57:15church, but if we cooperate with different earth leaders who are
- 57:20deaf leaders, we all can work together and spray the good news
- 57:26in our community. And that's what I realized.
- 57:29That's what God is showing me. Like, yeah, so let's say that
- 57:33again. So you want to go from 2% to
- 57:359098% that has that has heard the Lord.
- 57:40So right now he's staying in the deaf community.
- 57:43Only 2% of the community has heard about the Lord and they
- 57:47and their their wish, their hope, their prayer is to get
- 57:5198%. Yeah, Pray for, pray for that,
- 57:53yes. And and he's you've realized
- 57:58like you got to, it has to, it can't just be one person.
- 58:01It had to be the whole community working towards that.
- 58:04Yep, yeah. And I just want you to like go
- 58:11over again, just restate what the discouraging factor is.
- 58:17Why, why the deaf community often times may go to church,
- 58:22but then they're like, this isn't for me.
- 58:25Can you restate that? Because I think that's an
- 58:27important point that churches and communities need to know
- 58:31like. What I have learned is that.
- 58:45What I have learned is that most of the church have never
- 58:52experienced A portion, a deaf portion and a lot of time this
- 58:57fear because I don't know how to talk or or where somebody that
- 59:03no time angry or you got to be. Can you tell him you know So
- 59:07it's a lot of lack of and the second thing is that what
- 59:14surprised me is unity. They didn't mention in the Bible
- 59:20about what we share the common belief we should be helping
- 59:27others who need help. And I realized at the church
- 59:36they're lacking. So that where at the deaf person
- 59:41who advocates, we have to go in and teach the church leaders.
- 59:47It didn't happen overnight, but it takes time.
- 59:50But I realized the timing, it takes longer.
- 59:54So we have to turn something where we have to spray awareness
- 1:00:01in the deaf community. To teach the the worship in the
- 1:00:08church where they have the like annual worship or something, I
- 1:00:12think they need to have some what a deaf awareness and I
- 1:00:17think that will help to break the barrier.
- 1:00:21But also the financial cost of an interpreter can be very
- 1:00:26expensive and that was the biggest issue.
- 1:00:31They can't afford it, and I am. I understand that a lot of time
- 1:00:35the interpreter of volunteers. And if you're in a small town,
- 1:00:41or if you're in a big specific church, it's hard to finding
- 1:00:45someone who will be able to volunteer.
- 1:00:47Yeah, Yeah. I think the education piece of
- 1:00:51that is important because I think you know someone that I've
- 1:00:57only learned through you the difficulties that the community
- 1:01:01has and has made me aware enough to go out and seek and to learn,
- 1:01:08right. I think a lot of the hearing
- 1:01:11community because we don't have it in our lives everyday, just
- 1:01:14like any like even with Andy with it and it's not the same,
- 1:01:18but like when I went out and people didn't know his illness.
- 1:01:24And I'm not saying deaf is an illness by any means.
- 1:01:26I'm not saying that, but I'm just saying like I educated
- 1:01:28people and then leave them less fearful, right?
- 1:01:31And so I'm saying like the only commonality is like educating
- 1:01:35people and then making them less fearful because like, I know me
- 1:01:39as a person that had never interacted with a lot the deaf
- 1:01:43community, like I didn't want to thin I didn't know what to do.
- 1:01:48And now, like for you, I've learned a lot more and I'm not
- 1:01:51so scared. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:56Know what I have found to is that people do get excited when
- 1:02:00they want to learn. You know when you actually have
- 1:02:03the, you know just sitting from making things get excited about.
- 1:02:06It I don't, I don't think I've ever shared this with you, but
- 1:02:08Athena, when she was a little girl and they were saying you
- 1:02:10needed to take another language, you know the language.
- 1:02:13She came to me and said she wanted to take sign language,
- 1:02:17but I didn't know how to get her sign language.
- 1:02:19They don't offer that in school. Yeah.
- 1:02:23And they kept going, well, we have Spanish and we have German
- 1:02:26and she's like, no, I want sign language.
- 1:02:29And so I tried to help her, like find it online, but it's not the
- 1:02:32same. So, yeah, right there.
- 1:02:34And she was little. She That's the language she
- 1:02:36wanted to learn. Well, what the beautiful thing
- 1:02:38that, Neil, we have technology. I'm using my iPhone right now
- 1:02:42with caption. Yeah.
- 1:02:44I mean, I don't pay for it. It's all included, you know.
- 1:02:47So life training, they have caption and the technology,
- 1:02:52they're getting better and better and it can come more.
- 1:02:55Easier. Easier and not cost.
- 1:02:59I mean, I'm sure there's some cost, but much?
- 1:03:03Smaller. Much smaller than having to have
- 1:03:05a person every time. Well, one thing I have learned
- 1:03:08is that the death the sign language is several the grammar
- 1:03:15trust sort of different in English.
- 1:03:17So reading, writing can be hard, but that's why we create ASL
- 1:03:24Bible study to be open and share the ASL in time.
- 1:03:33And they feel more fall into the Bible because they understand
- 1:03:39what is being you're reading. Like I don't understand it, but
- 1:03:42when he's friendly and signed it they're like wow.
- 1:03:47Well, it's just like when we were in Honduras and they were
- 1:03:50singing in Spanish or reading the scripture in Spanish.
- 1:03:54Yeah, I didn't know what 100% and I was uncomfortable.
- 1:03:59But Ellie, I knew that. I knew what verse they were
- 1:04:03reading, reading and I knew it in English.
- 1:04:06So it's the same thing like. And I felt more comfortable
- 1:04:09because I knew it in English, but when I was in Spanish, I was
- 1:04:13uncomfortable. Like I knew what it was.
- 1:04:16But yeah. So it's the same premise.
- 1:04:19Like if you're trying to learn something new, new scriptures,
- 1:04:23Bible in the Bible. And it's like in any language.
- 1:04:26Or even if you can't understand, it can be hard to understand.
- 1:04:29Right, right, right. So then like I can definitely
- 1:04:33see like they're trying, they're one trying to like understand
- 1:04:36the Bible, right? And then and then it's not in
- 1:04:40their language. So yeah.
- 1:04:42And also one one more thing I would have added is animal the
- 1:04:48bullshit and I realized. It's.
- 1:04:58Good. OK, the dipole shit.
- 1:05:01I realized there's not many dead dipole shit like leader and we
- 1:05:08need more than those. That makes sense.
- 1:05:11So it looks like guided training on mining.
- 1:05:20Thank you, Harper. I'm going to go on that side
- 1:05:25actually. Thinking of the thankful shit, I
- 1:05:27realized that. Just OK if you can't stay on the
- 1:05:31camera. Thank you.
- 1:05:38Well, we're done until we learn about the thankful shit.
- 1:05:44We need more type of shit. More farmers?
- 1:05:47More farmers, that's where we're like, OK, so we need to teach
- 1:05:54them and then they need to spray in their community because every
- 1:06:00individual have their own community.
- 1:06:02They can start from there and they spread and spread.
- 1:06:06The discipleship in the community and then they spread
- 1:06:09for that. I love that, but but you need
- 1:06:15the community to come around and develop those disciples.
- 1:06:18The the decide to discipleship the disciples to go out, right.
- 1:06:22Yeah. So that and that's what you're,
- 1:06:26you're working on kind of doing that now with your Bible study.
- 1:06:30Right. I mean, I start, yeah.
- 1:06:31My community. Yeah, my parents, yeah.
- 1:06:35And. Then all start at home.
- 1:06:36Too. Yeah, it's always start at home,
- 1:06:39you know. Start at home first, yeah?
- 1:06:42OK, thank you both for sharing with me.
- 1:06:45We're going to wrap it up. Lil Harper, she's been a trooper
- 1:06:49through all of this. Thank you for allowing.
- 1:06:52Us to do this in your home. Thank you yeah it's been so nice

- 1:07:17God's working. I can, I mean, I see it from
- 1:07:19that side, but to hear it from you is, is very meaningful.
- 1:07:23And your life, too, Terry. Like I see you like just in all
- 1:07:28that we developed together. And then just within your own
- 1:07:32salon. You've even had one of your hair
- 1:07:35stylists recently get baptized. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:39Jamie, Jamie says she's going to come to church with you
- 1:07:41tomorrow, so it's kind of amazing.
- 1:07:44Wonderful. I invited her to come to
- 1:07:49Hillside, but I just thank you both.
- 1:07:54We're going to wrap it up now. What I hear is that being
- 1:07:58carried forward like and we didn't specifically use those
- 1:08:03words, but you, you guys have been caring for lots of things
- 1:08:06throughout your life and and the Lord has just been there to help
- 1:08:11you carry the weight of all that thing.
- 1:08:12Absolutely your new endeavors and it just I've seen you be you
- 1:08:21choosing faith and love again and again and like that shining
- 1:08:25through both of you and just and then like the weight of life
- 1:08:31I've seen in you with you choosing faith and love to get
- 1:08:34lighter, yes. Amen.
- 1:08:36Yep, and carry forward. Yes, and carry forward.
- 1:08:39So thank you both for just being here.
