  Speaker 2: it was rebounding issues, particularly in the second second half.

  Speaker 2: year it's been frustrating. You know. You know, you're eighteen

  Speaker 2: and one. I've never been eighteen and one as a

  Speaker 2: college coach. I've been eighteen and one as a high

  Speaker 2: school coach probably a bunch of times. But with the

  Speaker 2: schedule we played and the injuries we've dealt with in

  Speaker 2: non con and in in conference play, I'll take it,

  Speaker 2: you know, But we're you know, there's if we keep

  Speaker 2: doing the things that we're doing in terms of not

  Speaker 2: being able to put together full forty minutes, not getting

  Speaker 2: consistency and shot making, or turning the ball over, or

  Speaker 2: not being a good enough rebounding team, not being good

  Speaker 2: in transition on offense, I mean, if we just keep

  Speaker 2: having to talk about these things. You know, the season's

  Speaker 2: going to end for this team, the twenty sixteen, you

  Speaker 2: know in a way that you won't be fond.

  Speaker 1: Of, right you as a as a coach looking at that,

  Speaker 1: And this is a team that shouldn't go home early.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know again, it's you know, the culture

  Speaker 2: of basketball, the culture of college basketball. You know, really,

  Speaker 2: you know, in the end, you just got to hope,

  Speaker 2: you know that you have the right people in the

  Speaker 2: locker room that are about the right things, that again

  Speaker 2: have the ambition, the desire like this, the wild ambition,

  Speaker 2: this incredible insatiable desire to be a champion, you know,

  Speaker 2: above thinking about you know just again like how good

  Speaker 2: they've got it right now, or you know, thinking about

  Speaker 2: if you're not playing as much, or you know that

  Speaker 2: that the portal stuff that creeps into the locker room

  Speaker 2: that kind of, you know, unsettles a team, or you know,
• 4:56
  Speaker 2: the things that you start dealing with this time of

  Speaker 2: year in January, you know, but again, you know, in

  Speaker 2: the end, it's like the people that are in the

  Speaker 2: positions that Donovan and Adama were in, or Cam Spencer

  Speaker 2: or Tristan Newton, you know, or Jordan Hawkins or Steph Castle,

  Speaker 2: Like we need the players to play at that level,

  Speaker 2: to play at a championship level, and you know, we

  Speaker 2: need to have a team that is relentless and it's
• 5:23
  Speaker 2: pursuit of a championship. And you know, in the end,

  Speaker 2: you just got to hope that you have the right

  Speaker 2: human beings in the locker room pursuing that one.

  Speaker 1: Of those guys Alex Caraben has been with you four years,

  Speaker 1: got a couple of rings averaging thirteen and a half

  Speaker 1: five rebounds, has said four different twenty point games at Providence,

  Speaker 1: and that that game in Boston against BYU, he's actually

  Speaker 1: just passed Earl Kelly and Jeff Adrian and a couple

  Speaker 1: of guys that scored sixteen hundred points at Yukon and

  Speaker 1: he's chasing down Jerome Diyce And when you look at

  Speaker 1: him and the first day you saw him and where

  Speaker 1: did you say to yourself, this guy might be a

  Speaker 2: Well, I think he was the type of player that

  Speaker 2: we needed, uh, you know, like the type of you know,

  Speaker 2: skilled player, tough player, hard worker, uh, type of relationship

  Speaker 2: with basketball, you know, basketball first mentality, Jim rat you

  Speaker 2: know that that that we knew we needed to to

  Speaker 2: get over the hump. You know, when he came in

  Speaker 2: to Yukon, we were stuck on the you know, trying

  Speaker 2: to get over the hump, you know, relative to March success.

  Speaker 2: So uh yeah, I mean you see him enough days

  Speaker 2: and then uh, you know the only again, he was

  Speaker 2: so kind of you know, kind of like introverted that

  Speaker 2: you wondered, you know, to translate to game night. You know,

  Speaker 2: would he be able to you know, would he have

  Speaker 2: enough swagger when he got out there on the court

  Speaker 2: to let it rip and uh and carry over practice

  Speaker 2: to the games. And then you kind of see him

  Speaker 2: on game day and you know he kind of even

  Speaker 2: coomes more alive personality. So yeah, you know, like the

  Speaker 2: you knew it. I think early on in his fresher

  Speaker 2: year he had a special guy, and I think, uh,

  Speaker 2: you know, he's having an incredible career in the numbers

  Speaker 2: he's putting up for all within four years. You know,

  Speaker 2: there's a lot of guys that that put up like that,

  Speaker 2: that are that are that are gonna set like really

  Speaker 2: high bars with records that ended up playing five years

  Speaker 2: in college, whereas alex Is, he's doing this all in four.
