- 0:28Speaker 2: to find some joy. How is your weekend, Chile? Did
- 0:31Speaker 2: you do anything that's got you feeling good even into
- 0:34Speaker 2: this new week?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:35Speaker 3: So on Saturday, I've had the opportunity to do this
- 0:38Speaker 3: multiple years, but I am seed the sound of music
- 0:43Speaker 3: singalong at Wolf Tracks.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Oh the hills are a lot.
- 0:47Speaker 3: H that's where you watch the movie and you do
- 0:50Speaker 3: all sorts of fun things during certain parts of the
- 0:53Speaker 3: with the sound of m day. It was nice it
- 0:57Speaker 3: Saturday night. But yeah, it was a lovely week weekend.
- 1:00Speaker 3: And this week kicks off the last week of school
- 1:04Speaker 3: in Fairfax County, so we've got a lot of activities
- 1:07Speaker 3: going on for hit my son's sixth grade graduation before
- 1:12Speaker 3: he matriculates.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And Tune you said matriculates. Yes, that's a big word
- 1:18Speaker 2: this early in the morning, trick youlate can he is
- 1:21Speaker 2: it in a sentence? Really, it's right you like to
- 1:25Speaker 2: use words like that. Tuesday. Oh yeah, you know what.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But that's why I'm more awake. It's Monday, Chilli geez.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm feeling good because the hangover continues from last week.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I got to go to an advanced screening of the
- 1:39Speaker 2: Toy Story five movie, and I know you had the
- 1:43Speaker 2: chance to go see it, and now that we're free
- 1:45Speaker 2: of the embargo, we can talk about it. But I'm
- 1:47Speaker 2: just going to say this, that movie is just so good.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It starts with a great story, and you would think
- 1:56Speaker 2: after five sequels that they'd start to get a little
- 1:58Speaker 2: bit long in tooth, so to speak.
- 2:00Speaker 3: No, not at all, well, because there's so much to
- 2:03Speaker 3: talk about as kids evolve through their childhood that the
- 2:07Speaker 3: movie can keep going. But maybe another day this week
- 2:10Speaker 3: we could really dive.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Into a little bit more kids, kids and parents. But
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say this, man that Disney picks our magic,
- 2:16Speaker 2: that picks Our magic specifically is alive and well, and
- 2:21Speaker 2: you will be doing yourself a disservice if you don't
- 2:23Speaker 2: go see it this weekend. That's all I have to
- 2:25Speaker 2: say about that.
- 2:25Speaker 3: For now.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Let's get into the Monday broadcast Top Stories at the
- 2:30Speaker 2: top of the Hour at Chilly what did we miss
- 2:32Speaker 2: over the weekend? What do we need to know is
- 2:33Speaker 2: we start this new deck.
- 2:34Speaker 3: If you regularly spend more time deciding what to eat
- 2:37Speaker 3: than actually eating, door Dash has this new feature that's
- 2:40Speaker 3: coming out designed to help you make that decision.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 2:49Speaker 3: The President announced a landmark agreement with Iran yesterday, including
- 2:53Speaker 3: the removal of the US naval blockade and reopening the
- 2:56Speaker 3: Strait of Horror Moves, with a formal signing for June
- 3:01Speaker 3: nineteenth in Switzerland. This agreement now launches a sixty day
- 3:05Speaker 3: window to negotiate Iran's nuclear program, while in a historic first,
- 3:10Speaker 3: the UFC held a fight card on the White House
- 3:14Speaker 3: South Lawn last night, with the President celebrating his eightieth
- 3:18Speaker 3: birthday watching alongside four thousand spectators. Police are investigating an
- 3:23Speaker 3: attempted carjacking that happened near the University of Maryland campus
- 3:27Speaker 3: after a man who is armed with a knife approached
- 3:29Speaker 3: a vehicle that was occupied by three people Saturday afternoon,
- 3:33Speaker 3: demanding they get out the documents gave him cash instead,
- 3:37Speaker 3: and he fled with no injuries reported. Over one hundred
- 3:42Speaker 3: and fifty students in staff from all twenty five Montgomery
- 3:45Speaker 3: County High schools are now pushing back against a March
- 3:48Speaker 3: memo that requires administrators to review all student publications before
- 3:52Speaker 3: they're printed, arguing that it violates Maryland's New Voices Act
- 3:56Speaker 3: and amounts to censorship. Well, MCPS insists that the memo
- 4:01Speaker 3: simply clarifies existing supervisory responsibilities. The DC defenders sadly fell
- 4:08Speaker 3: short of back to back UFL titles. They lost to
- 4:12Speaker 3: the Louisville Kings twenty seven to twenty at Audi Field
- 4:16Speaker 3: on Saturday, and door Dash is starting to roll out
- 4:19Speaker 3: a new feature called ask door Dashed. I will let
- 4:23Speaker 3: users describe cravings, upload recipes, or request a dining experience
- 4:27Speaker 3: to get personalized restaurant and grocery recommendations without having to
- 4:31Speaker 3: endlessly scroll. It can also auto build grocery orders and
- 4:36Speaker 3: will eventually assist with reservations. Forecast today stunning lots of

- 4:53Speaker 2: might need a little something. Hep you get out of bed,
- 4:55Speaker 2: get your day started. God knows we all do from
- 4:57Speaker 2: time to time, and that's where your morning mindset comes
- 5:00Speaker 2: into play. Stay right there and we'll try to motivate
- 5:04Speaker 2: each other with some words from somebody who knows a
- 5:07Speaker 2: bit about motivation coming up in just a few so
- 5:10Speaker 2: we can get this day started in a very positive way.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Washington's variety from the eighties nineties. In Today, on a
- 5:18Speaker 2: Monday morning in the nation's capital, it is ninety seven
- 5:21Speaker 2: point one Wash FM, orre Toby and Chiley in the morning.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Welcome to a new week. But I know you might
- 5:26Speaker 2: be dragging. Lots of people are. It's Monday, that happens.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But maybe, just maybe your morning mindset might help you.
- 5:35Speaker 3: This is where we find a quote and share it
- 5:37Speaker 3: with you so you can think about it as you
- 5:38Speaker 3: take on the rest of your day.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Thomas Carlyle says that every noble work is at first impossible.
- 5:46Speaker 2: You know, I don't know what you got planned today.
- 5:48Speaker 2: You're laying in bed, maybe you're sitting in the kitchen
- 5:51Speaker 2: thinking about breakfast, or you're driving to wherever you've got
- 5:54Speaker 2: to be today to do what you gotta do, and
- 5:56Speaker 2: you're like, oh man, this is just gonna be one
- 5:59Speaker 2: of those days, it's going to be impossible to get
- 6:01Speaker 2: everything done. Well, you know what, embrace it anyway, because
- 6:04Speaker 2: boys look unrealistic in the beginning and then they happen
- 6:09Speaker 2: and they come true. But it starts with you. And
- 6:13Speaker 2: when you remember that every noble work is at first impossible,
- 6:17Speaker 2: you can make that impossible possible. Keep that in mind,
- 6:21Speaker 2: Thomas Carlyle with your morning mindset. Get it if you
- 6:24Speaker 2: need it. Find us on Instagram, Facebook, all of these things,
- 6:27Speaker 2: Toby and Chilipage, WASHFM dot com. I hope it helps
- 6:31Speaker 2: you take on your Monday, and we would love for
- 6:33Speaker 2: you to stay right there because in just a few
- 6:35Speaker 2: minutes with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Now.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I don't know if you guys made any Costco runs
- 6:39Speaker 3: over the weekend, but we came across this interesting list
- 6:43Speaker 3: of things that Costco employees would love for all of
- 6:47Speaker 3: us as shoppers to stop doing.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Oh lord, wait until you hear this list Toby and
- 6:55Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. It is ninety seven point one
- 6:57Speaker 2: wash FM. Attention Costco shoppers, Attention Costco shoppers. There are things,
- 7:03Speaker 2: according to finance Buzz, that Costco employees say they would
- 7:06Speaker 2: love for you, as a Costco shopper to stop doing.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'll give you a couple of highlights on a list
- 7:10Speaker 2: you can see at the Toby and chillipage at washupm
- 7:12Speaker 2: dot com. Blocking aisles and just standing in the way.
- 7:15Speaker 2: You are not entitled to the entire aisle at the Costco.
- 7:19Speaker 2: You're just causing people delays. But rating employees over policies,
- 7:24Speaker 2: it's not their policy personally, it's the stores policy, the
- 7:29Speaker 2: messenger that's right, Leave them alone. They're just trying to
- 7:32Speaker 2: earn a wage like you do during the work week
- 7:35Speaker 2: or whenever you go to work. And the other one
- 7:38Speaker 2: is this, I would say, not being prepared at check out. Oh,
- 7:42Speaker 2: you know, you need to kind of have a strategy
- 7:45Speaker 2: at Costco that includes boxes bags. You know, they don't
- 7:49Speaker 2: just give you bags. It ain't the grocery store. So
- 7:52Speaker 2: those are a few of the highlights on the list. Chilly,
- 7:55Speaker 2: what are you thinking about this?
- 7:56Speaker 3: I'm shocked at one of one thing is not on here.
- 7:59Speaker 3: There's nothing on here about people who abuse the free samples.
- 8:03Speaker 3: And what I mean by that is the folks who
- 8:06Speaker 3: hover over the employee and then take multiple pieces of
- 8:12Speaker 3: the food or keep coming back over and over again.
- 8:15Speaker 3: If I work there, I'd be like, yo, buddy, this
- 8:19Speaker 3: ain't no cocktail party.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Other people are here.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Oh.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I'm not trying to start a war, but I would
- 8:25Speaker 2: say Chili that they're free samples for a reason. I
- 8:28Speaker 2: don't know that the Costco employee cares.
- 8:30Speaker 3: That's what I'm shocked that they don't care.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I would care.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I don't be so selfish. A sample is a sample.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I'm not here to provide you a four course meal
- 8:40Speaker 3: with some takitos.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I think I would have a problem if, you know,
- 8:45Speaker 2: maybe somebody were camping out there, like they went to
- 8:47Speaker 2: a restaurant. But if they're walking around and they happen
- 8:50Speaker 2: to wander by the takeitos a second time or maybe
- 8:54Speaker 2: a third time. Costco's big, you know, and they're free
- 8:57Speaker 2: for a reason, maybe it'll turn into a sale. Okay,
- 9:02Speaker 2: are there are people I know who go to Costco
- 9:04Speaker 2: for lunch?
- 9:04Speaker 3: You just brought up a very good point, and I'll
- 9:06Speaker 3: leave it at this if at least to a sale
- 9:08Speaker 3: by all means, that's.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Fair, all right, then, well, you know Costco employees. If
- 9:13Speaker 2: you have anything to add, we're at eight six six,
- 9:15Speaker 2: nine two seven forty three sixty one. You can also
- 9:17Speaker 2: tap the talk back microphone and leave us a voice
- 9:20Speaker 2: note if you want to. And by the way, Costco,
- 9:23Speaker 2: we love you, especially the employees who make it easy
- 9:26Speaker 2: for us to get the things that we need and
- 9:29Speaker 2: we need to get the news. Top Stories at the

- 11:15Speaker 3: around six to fifteen last night. That area is known
- 11:18Speaker 3: for strong and dangerous currents. A runaway charter bus caused

- 11:26Speaker 3: Saturday after the driver apparently lost control of the brakes,
- 11:30Speaker 3: striking multiple cars, light poles, and utility poles. One person

- 11:39Speaker 3: the Kennedy Center for over seventeen million dollars in donated
- 11:43Speaker 3: funds following their split earlier this year after a fifteen

- 12:54Speaker 2: Now Toby and Chilly in the morning on ninety seven
- 12:57Speaker 2: point one wash CHEFM Monday in the Capital City of
- 12:59Speaker 2: the First World, Chilli give us the backstory. Who is
- 13:02Speaker 2: this person that has all of the Swifties, Taylor Swift's
- 13:06Speaker 2: fans up in arms across the Taylor Nation. It's not good.
- 13:10Speaker 2: That's not gonna end well.
- 13:11Speaker 3: No, So last week is supermodel named I think her
- 13:13Speaker 3: name is Gina Simms. She upset these fans because she
- 13:17Speaker 3: said during an interview that Travis Kelsey is her hall pass. Now,
- 13:21Speaker 3: for those of you who don't understand what a hall
- 13:23Speaker 3: pass is. It's like, oh, well, if I ever get
- 13:25Speaker 3: to meet this person, yeah we are allowed to hook up. Yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 3: it's just usually a joke amongst couples, right, But the
- 13:32Speaker 3: Swifties weren't happy about it because they thought, Okay, that's
- 13:35Speaker 3: something you keep to yourself, right, you don't publicly announce
- 13:39Speaker 3: who the hall pass is, especially when you yourself are
- 13:43Speaker 3: a high profile person.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Sure, I loved some of the comments I saw, Like
- 13:47Speaker 2: on Twitter formerly known as Twitter now x or whatever,
- 13:50Speaker 2: people are all like, oh, it's this home wrecord, leave
- 13:53Speaker 2: Taylor and Travis alone. She's trying to tear them apart.
- 13:57Speaker 3: And the supermodel is married to golfer Brooks Kopka and
- 14:01Speaker 3: she goes Brooks knows that Travis is my hall pass
- 14:03Speaker 3: and he doesn't care. But I think it's more like
- 14:05Speaker 3: you're being disrespectful to Taylor by putting it out there
- 14:09Speaker 3: as a supermodel that you know you you had a
- 14:12Speaker 3: thing for Travis even before Taylor met Trav.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Well, you know, look, I'm conversely chilly. I think it's
- 14:20Speaker 2: just like what you mentioned a second ago, the hall
- 14:23Speaker 2: pass game. It's a game, it's a gimmick, just a
- 14:26Speaker 2: shenanagain and you know, she's just saying that because Travis
- 14:29Speaker 2: Kelsey's a good looking man and Taylor's very lucky.
- 14:32Speaker 3: But you're openly flirting and publicly flirting.
- 14:36Speaker 2: But she's not flirting. She's just saying, it's just like
- 14:39Speaker 2: with you and Clooney.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Okay, but what are the odds of me ever meeting Cloding.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I'm just an average Joe Schmoe. You never know, you
- 14:48Speaker 3: might bump into an union station, not a supermodel. So also,
- 14:52Speaker 3: and by the way, George would never do that to
- 14:54Speaker 3: them all, and hopefully Travis would never do that to Taylor's. No.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Well, I can guarantee you Taylor's swift probably planned on that.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And there's something in a prenup somewhere that says, if
- 15:03Speaker 2: you do, guess what, dude, I own you for life.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I wonder if anyone's ever actually met their hall pass? Though, yeah,
- 15:09Speaker 3: did you? How was that?
- 15:13Speaker 2: Do tell? Eight? Six six nine two seven forty three
- 15:15Speaker 2: sixty one is the number talkbacks wide Open two For
- 15:18Speaker 2: those of you who are listening with the technology on
- 15:21Speaker 2: your iHeart app, Let's discuss who is your hall Pass?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Have you met them? What do you think? I think
- 15:27Speaker 2: your story is going to make for a great conversation
- 15:30Speaker 2: eight six, six, nine two, seven forty three sixty one.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Tap the talkback microphone if you're assigned into your iHeart
- 15:37Speaker 2: app listening to ninety seven point one Wash fm 'or

- 15:43Speaker 2: hall pass. You know that one person that if you
- 15:45Speaker 2: meet him, you are allowed to hook up. Which should
- 15:49Speaker 2: you get so lucky?
- 15:50Speaker 3: I don't think any couple has actually gone through with
- 15:52Speaker 3: the hall pass situation. I don't even know anybody that's
- 15:55Speaker 3: actually gotten to meet their hall pass.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Oh really never.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Now, I don't know anybody that met their hall pass.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Well, let me introduce you to somebody who has. Ashley
- 16:04Speaker 2: in Fairfax, good morning, tell us please.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I grew up with like the biggest crush on ice.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Cube, really ice Cube maybe.
- 16:14Speaker 4: And we got to meet him a couple of years
- 16:16Speaker 4: ago and I like cried the whole time, which was embarrassing.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Well, I guess you didn't get around to telling him
- 16:21Speaker 3: that he was your hall pass, saying you were too overwhelmed.
- 16:25Speaker 2: You could do it, put your back into it. Thank
- 16:27Speaker 2: you for the call this morning, Ashley in Fairfax. Let's
- 16:30Speaker 2: shoot over here to Kensington. John who's your hall pass?
- 16:33Speaker 3: Kelly from Slave by the Belt. I'm sure Tiffany Ambersysen
- 16:37Speaker 3: was on a lot of men's hall passes. I met
- 16:39Speaker 3: her in life one time at the convention. She was
- 16:42Speaker 3: actually she's very sweet and very friendly and very charismatic
- 16:45Speaker 3: and just outgoing.
- 16:47Speaker 2: John, you are smitten.
- 16:49Speaker 3: She was the bomb.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Wow.
- 16:50Speaker 3: How have your partners felt about this crush over the years?
- 16:54Speaker 3: One of them would leave the room when every I
- 16:56Speaker 3: wanted to watch, to stay by the belt. She wouldn't
- 16:57Speaker 3: even stay there with it because I would put there
- 16:59Speaker 3: to do a hysperic.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Is that creepier? Is that a crush? Chili?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Well, it depends if he was staring at her in person,
- 17:06Speaker 3: it would be creepy on the television.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Eh. Whatever, It's just a crush, all right, John, Thank

- 22:04Speaker 2: at the top of the hour around seven ten with
- 22:07Speaker 2: ninety seven point one Wash FM. And it is Monday,
- 22:10Speaker 2: so coming up a story that we think might just
- 22:13Speaker 2: make your Monday.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Three Fairfax County girls just made history as the first
- 22:19Speaker 3: local varsity wrestlers ever recruiter to competing.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly on a Monday morning, and oh the
- 22:27Speaker 2: Mondays when they happen, you need something that can snap
- 22:31Speaker 2: you back into feeling great. And that's why this story
- 22:34Speaker 2: we think might do just that. It's time for a
- 22:36Speaker 2: story that we think will make your Monday. Here at
- 22:38Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash CHEFM and we go to
- 22:40Speaker 2: Fairfax County. It took them a bit to open the
- 22:43Speaker 2: door for girls varsity wrestling, but they did. And when
- 22:46Speaker 2: they did, there are three young women you've got to
- 22:49Speaker 2: get to know who walked right through that door and
- 22:52Speaker 2: into some college athletic programs.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Kaylin McKay from mcclaim, Kate Crockett from Ogden, and Ashley
- 22:58Speaker 3: Lopez from Lewis High are the first girls wrestlers in
- 23:01Speaker 3: the county's history to be recruited to compete.
- 23:05Speaker 2: At the college level.
- 23:06Speaker 3: So Kaylin and Kate are both heading to Ithaca College
- 23:09Speaker 3: and Ashley is going to be wrestling at Marymount University.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Now, not too long ago, this milestone, well it felt
- 23:18Speaker 2: very far far off. Kaylen had spent eight years doing
- 23:22Speaker 2: Brazilian jiu jitsu when she was a kid, realized that
- 23:25Speaker 2: just had no college future. Wrestling seemed like the next
- 23:29Speaker 2: natural step for her, but there was no girls team
- 23:32Speaker 2: for her to join, and so she waited. And then
- 23:34Speaker 2: two years into her time in McLean, Fairfax County launched
- 23:37Speaker 2: the girl's varsity wrestling is its own sport. That's when
- 23:41Speaker 2: everything changed and she called it a golden ticket.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Kate had a similar journey, watching her Oakedon team grow
- 23:48Speaker 3: from just four girls to thirteen once the program had
- 23:52Speaker 3: its own varsity category. And then Ashley came into the
- 23:55Speaker 3: sport looking for some structure and a way to handle stress.
- 23:58Speaker 3: But then what she did was found a community instead.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And now they're all headed to college mats carrying with
- 24:04Speaker 2: them something bigger than their own records, the knowledge, the
- 24:07Speaker 2: knowledge that because they blazed a trail, that there are women,
- 24:11Speaker 2: young women who will come up behind them that will
- 24:13Speaker 2: have a path that did not exist just a few
- 24:16Speaker 2: years ago. And let me just say this, Chili, when
- 24:19Speaker 2: it comes to wrestling, I have no doubt that all
- 24:21Speaker 2: three of these ladies will just devastate me on the match.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Kaylin, Kate, and Ashley, thank you for giving us a
- 24:31Speaker 3: story that really does make our Monday.
- 24:33Speaker 2: And best of luck with your collegiate careers. You want
- 24:36Speaker 2: to read the story again, you'll find it. It's on
- 24:38Speaker 2: the Toby and chilipage at waschfm dot com. Incidentally, that's
- 24:40Speaker 2: where you need to go. If there's a story that
- 24:42Speaker 2: you think might just make somebody's Monday, share it with us.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We would love to make some noise for you and
- 24:49Speaker 2: stay with Toby and Chili in the Morning. Ninety seven

- 25:14Speaker 4: Coming up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

- 25:35Speaker 3: The President marked his eightieth birthday yesterday by hosting a
- 25:39Speaker 3: UFC cage fighting event on the White House South Lawn
- 25:43Speaker 3: with over four thousand spectators attending, and just hours before
- 25:47Speaker 3: the fight began, he announced a deal to end the
- 25:49Speaker 3: war in Iran, including lifting the naval blockade and reopening
- 25:53Speaker 3: the Strait of Horror Moves, although key details still need
- 25:56Speaker 3: to be negotiated. Authorities are weighing whether to continue searching
- 26:01Speaker 3: for a young man who went missing in the Potomac
- 26:03Speaker 3: River near the Billy Goat Trail a after he was
- 26:06Speaker 3: separated from his group around six fifteen last night. The
- 26:10Speaker 3: area is known for strong and dangerous currents. A runaway
- 26:14Speaker 3: charter bus caused widespread damage along several blocks of Wisconsin
- 26:17Speaker 3: Avenue and Bethesda Saturday after the driver apparently lost control
- 26:21Speaker 3: of the brakes, striking multiple cars, light poles, and utility poles.
- 26:25Speaker 3: One person was evaluated for injuries. While the Washington National
- 26:30Speaker 3: Opera is suing the Kennedy Center for over seventeen million
- 26:33Speaker 3: dollars in donated funds following their split earlier this year
- 26:37Speaker 3: after a fifteen year partnership, the Kennedy Center is firing back,
- 26:42Speaker 3: claiming that the opera owes the facility seventy two million
- 26:46Speaker 3: dollars and plans to file a countersuit. And according to
- 26:50Speaker 3: a recent survey, twenty five percent of Americans have made
- 26:54Speaker 3: major life changes like quitting jobs or ending relationships based
- 26:59Speaker 3: on the dreams, with two thirds believing dreams carry deeper meaning.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Gen Z experiences the most nightmares, at one point eight
- 27:09Speaker 3: of them per month, and women are more likely than
- 27:12Speaker 3: men to act on their dreams. Forecast for today, beautiful day,
