- 0:08Speaker 1: And I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no, guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: your presence is presence enough. I already had too much stuff.
- 0:35Speaker 2: So how do you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Welcome to I said, no gifts, imperature, wineger, Oh, what's happening?
- 0:57Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yesterday I saw Jaws in the movie theater thrilling time,
- 1:03Speaker 3: although I will say about half an hour of Jaws
- 1:06Speaker 3: is just three men talking on a boat, and that
- 1:10Speaker 3: could have been left on the cutting room floor. I
- 1:14Speaker 3: became bored. I was bored during Jaws, and it was
- 1:17Speaker 3: the part when they're supposed to be finding the titular Jaws,
- 1:21Speaker 3: so you know, when you're looking for a shark, it
- 1:24Speaker 3: should be thrilling. It shouldn't be three guys bonding.
- 1:28Speaker 4: So that was tough.
- 1:29Speaker 3: But the movie overall is, of course mildly frightening. What
- 1:34Speaker 3: else is going on? It's just been NonStop heat. I'm
- 1:37Speaker 3: sweating constantly. I hope you're doing okay. I hope you know.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I hope if you have a problem or if you're
- 1:45Speaker 3: struggling with something, just know it's entirely your fault, and
- 1:49Speaker 3: I blame you. So we should get into the podcast
- 1:52Speaker 3: because I think I covered everything. I feel like I'm
- 1:55Speaker 3: not saying that we have merch often enough, and I'm
- 1:58Speaker 3: sure the network is upset to exactly Rightstore dot com,
- 2:01Speaker 3: there's all kinds of merchandise. Buy some merchandise. Today's guest
- 2:06Speaker 3: is just so wonderful. We should get into the show.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It's Haley, Marie Norman. Haley, welcome to I said no gifts.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Thank you for having me.
- 2:14Speaker 5: And can I just tell you that I'm actually in
- 2:15Speaker 5: my merch era. You're in your merchant in my merch era.
- 2:19Speaker 5: How so I everywhere I go I buy merch's some
- 2:22Speaker 5: recent merch you okay, So I bought some really good
- 2:24Speaker 5: Alabama Shakes merch.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I just saw them at the Hollywood Ball.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Wonderful.
- 2:28Speaker 5: And I spend money on merch, Like I don't just
- 2:30Speaker 5: go up to the merch table and get a stick
- 2:32Speaker 5: hr you go for it.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I go for it.
- 2:34Speaker 5: At Alabama Shakes. I got a short sleeve shirt. I
- 2:37Speaker 5: got a long sleeve shirt, Oh my god. And I
- 2:39Speaker 5: got a hologram poster and it was like of a
- 2:41Speaker 5: limited edition, like two hundred or something.
- 2:44Speaker 3: This is them flagging you as like a worrisome fan.
- 2:48Speaker 3: This woman is could be dangerous, she's on the path.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I just it's the thirty year anniversary of Clueless, which
- 2:54Speaker 5: is one of my favorite movies. Right, okay, this one's
- 2:57Speaker 5: I was going to say, this one's actually embursing, but
- 2:59Speaker 5: you know, I'm just gonna own it. Mittel put out
- 3:01Speaker 5: a line of thirtieth anniversary Clueless merch sure, and I
- 3:06Speaker 5: bought everything.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Like what what are they sells? Okay? I mean I
- 3:09Speaker 3: will say, your dress is kind of clueless coded.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, thank you so much, you.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Know, kind of it feels like it would be right
- 3:14Speaker 3: on Q for the movie thank you.
- 3:17Speaker 5: I grew up okay, okay, I grew up being almost
- 3:21Speaker 5: embarrassed to say that Cluse was my favorite movie because
- 3:24Speaker 5: people would associate it with like being vapid or.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Oh right whatever, which is basically saying they didn't watch
- 3:30Speaker 3: the movie.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Thank you. You get it. Well, they're morons, they're morons.
- 3:35Speaker 5: And then now I've come into it a little bit more,
- 3:37Speaker 5: especially because some of my favorite female comedians are.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Like why did I say female comedians?
- 3:41Speaker 4: That was weird?
- 3:43Speaker 3: Well, because women are rarely.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So the few funny women that.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Are out there, there are two or three of.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Them, and they all like Clueless.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 2: So it's seemed to be like, okay, can I can
- 3:54Speaker 2: really own it?
- 3:55Speaker 4: Right?
- 3:57Speaker 5: But when I was a kid and I was watching Clueless,
- 4:01Speaker 5: everyone said I had to be Dion because I was black,
- 4:03Speaker 5: and I was very upset because I'm very clearly a share.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I can tell you're a share. Thank you dress alone.
- 4:08Speaker 2: A share I would like I was thank you you
- 4:11Speaker 2: freaking see me? You get me.
- 4:13Speaker 5: So with March thirtieth anniversary of Clueless, matel put out
- 4:16Speaker 5: of line. So I got the Share doll, the Clueless doll,
- 4:19Speaker 5: I mean the Shared doll, the Dion doll, the polypocket.
- 4:22Speaker 5: I don't give a shit about polllypockets, but I had
- 4:23Speaker 5: to get it, you.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Know, clueless polypockets. So it's like SHARE's polypocket.
- 4:27Speaker 5: And the jeep the white jeep wrangler a little time
- 4:31Speaker 5: and I have thee.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You drive a white jeep.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I just got it it.
- 4:37Speaker 5: See I told you in my merch Hay. But in
- 4:39Speaker 5: a way that might mean I'm like deeply devoid of.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Having sends to automobiles full price cards. They should have
- 4:47Speaker 3: a Clueless Jeep, the special edition.
- 4:49Speaker 2: They should have a Okay, do not get me started.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I am already in a and I just bought this one.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Oh, that would be a nightmare for you.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I would have to turn it back and a guy,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I need the official clue list.
- 4:59Speaker 3: You would lose a lot of money.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Jeep, and it might be worth it.
- 5:03Speaker 3: You probably would. That's truly a missed opportunity on the
- 5:06Speaker 3: Jeep Corporation's.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Part, not because that part is iconic because of Clueless.
- 5:12Speaker 3: And they're always talking about Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park Jeep.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Who cares. I've seen enough of that treep.
- 5:18Speaker 2: We've seen so much of that.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Gee, everyone loves the classic white Jeep. Yes, it's some
- 5:22Speaker 3: more fun in that jeep. The other jeep you get
- 5:24Speaker 3: killed by dinosaur exactly.
- 5:26Speaker 5: And I feel like the I for got a really
- 5:29Speaker 5: special Jeep white Jeep because I just showed up to
- 5:32Speaker 5: the dealership randomly and they were trying to get me
- 5:34Speaker 5: to buy like a black one or whatever other color one,
- 5:37Speaker 5: and I was like, I only want a white one,
- 5:39Speaker 5: and they were kind of playing like, oh, we don't
- 5:40Speaker 5: have a white one blah. And then the girl who
- 5:43Speaker 5: I was buying it from went to the back, she
- 5:45Speaker 5: came back.
- 5:45Speaker 2: She was like, we.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Actually do have a white one, and she was like,
- 5:48Speaker 5: they were trying to throw me off the scent of
- 5:50Speaker 5: this white one because it's a really special one.
- 5:52Speaker 3: What's special about it?
- 5:53Speaker 2: So it has denim interior.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is a dream.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It's so cool.
- 5:57Speaker 5: It's a sport so it's like kind of high up right,
- 6:00Speaker 5: it's fucking hot, dude, Like it's hard top. It's the
- 6:02Speaker 5: fucking best car. And so they were trying to get
- 6:05Speaker 5: me off the set and get me to buy another one.
- 6:07Speaker 5: So the girl had to go to the back and
- 6:08Speaker 5: say she it's she loves clueless. She's take away, she's relentless.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Why does it feel to sit on a denim seat?
- 6:16Speaker 2: Well, it still feels soft, great question. Yeah, it doesn't
- 6:19Speaker 2: feel like chafe jeans. There's no chafing. Okay, yeah, which
- 6:22Speaker 2: is good for me because.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I wear like a shorter dress right now. Yes, baby,
- 6:27Speaker 3: So it's like a probably like a washed denim or something.
- 6:30Speaker 3: It's a washed I've never heard about this before. I
- 6:34Speaker 3: recently got a car in the seats are leather, and
- 6:36Speaker 3: it was such an obvious mistake.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Did they get really hot.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Of course, why is that even put in a car?
- 6:42Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't horrible, it's horrible.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I like, I felt like I was getting this great
- 6:46Speaker 3: deal because the last car I got was during the
- 6:48Speaker 3: car shortage, and it was one of those things where
- 6:50Speaker 3: you would go in the car salespeople would be like, well,
- 6:52Speaker 3: deal with it there, we can charge whatever we want. Yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 3: so I was paying way too much. So when I
- 6:57Speaker 3: got this car, is like, oh, I can get whatever
- 6:58Speaker 3: I want now, I've got this leather.
- 7:00Speaker 2: That burns my Wait, what kind of car do you have?
- 7:03Speaker 2: It's a Hyundai, It's a Hondai.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Those are good cars, They're great cars. I'm obsessed with
- 7:07Speaker 3: hondais Now.
- 7:08Speaker 2: How weird was that car shortage thing? Though?
- 7:10Speaker 3: Oh? It was absolutely wild and true, a true nightmare
- 7:13Speaker 3: if you had to get a car, it was a
- 7:15Speaker 3: true nightmare because you don't want to have to just
- 7:18Speaker 3: crumble in front of a car sales person.
- 7:20Speaker 5: I remember going to the Preus dealership in North Hollywood
- 7:23Speaker 5: and they were like, we have one.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Literally one, we have one. The one good thing about
- 7:29Speaker 3: it was selling your car, getting up your old car.
- 7:31Speaker 3: You were like, oh, I'm actually making money on a car.
- 7:33Speaker 4: How is this happening?
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but now I've got leather and my legs are
- 7:38Speaker 3: just burning up all the time. I've got to be
- 7:41Speaker 3: in pants.
- 7:42Speaker 5: Why don't you get one of those you know those
- 7:45Speaker 5: weird like nineties sun dash things.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I should get one of those. You should get one,
- 7:49Speaker 2: And I need.
- 7:49Speaker 3: One from the for the outside of the windshield because
- 7:52Speaker 3: I have be Bees are constantly pooping on the windshields.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Bees bees.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Yes, you know what, honestly, I love that because you
- 8:00Speaker 5: know we have a b shortage.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Oh interesting, So it kind of is like it's a
- 8:06Speaker 3: positive sign.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I think it's a good thing that I at.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Least have too many bees around my home.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Which I think that means you have good energy.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Yes, you're keep going collinators.
- 8:16Speaker 3: But they're destroying my windshield and it's like, I get
- 8:18Speaker 3: my I would prefer to get my car washed around
- 8:21Speaker 3: every eighteen months, and now it's like once a month,
- 8:24Speaker 3: which to me is over.
- 8:26Speaker 2: That's a lot. And a car wash isn't cheap.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Car wash is not cheap. I'm obviously getting the absolute cheapest.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's still what fifty dollars?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Okay, well, you're going to do a nice car. I'm
- 8:37Speaker 3: usimply paying eleven dollars. Yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Oh you're going through the drive the.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Drive through one. Oh yeah, you're taking care of your car.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I did well.
- 8:44Speaker 5: I had a prius beforehand. Okay, do you know who
- 8:46Speaker 5: Catherine Burns is? She's like part of our group?
- 8:49Speaker 4: Is Catherine?
- 8:49Speaker 3: Now I feel bad I should have said.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yes, Okay, yes, I know.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Catherine and I love her.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Like, yes, you should have her on this podcast. She's amazing.
- 8:58Speaker 5: She does a lot of she's a choreographer, but she
- 9:02Speaker 5: does a lot of like comedy choreography.
- 9:03Speaker 2: She was nominated.
- 9:04Speaker 5: I think she even won an Emmy for my crazy
- 9:08Speaker 5: ex girlfriend.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 9:09Speaker 5: So when she won an Emmy, I bought her old
- 9:13Speaker 5: priests from her because she got a Tesla back.
- 9:14Speaker 3: When it's a funny mo my cars for sale.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And I bought it.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Good for you.
- 9:22Speaker 2: So with that car, I went through the car wash.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Okay, there's a certain level like of car where you're like,
- 9:29Speaker 3: I'll just go through the thing that beats it today exactly,
- 9:31Speaker 3: And for me, that's literally any car.
- 9:34Speaker 2: But I don't know if you had my clueless Wrangler, yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Maybe if I was in a clueless Wrangler, that's a
- 9:42Speaker 3: very special type of automobile, and I don't think share
- 9:45Speaker 3: was going through the well. And also, wait, does it doesn't.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Have a top?
- 9:50Speaker 2: Well you can remove it?
- 9:51Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so I have it on most of the time.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I only took it off for the first time this weekend.
- 9:55Speaker 4: And how was that feeling?
- 9:56Speaker 5: It was so fun, but mostly because I was just
- 9:58Speaker 5: excited because I knew I was gonna be able to
- 10:00Speaker 5: take hohe pictures after there. Oh cool, goes like, we're
- 10:02Speaker 5: taking the top off, We're going to beat Yeah, that's
- 10:04Speaker 5: going to be fun.
- 10:04Speaker 2: But what's going to be better are the hot photos
- 10:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna get from there.
- 10:08Speaker 3: That's the only car you can do a hot photo in.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Oh my god, these photos are hot.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Were they at the beach?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, the beach was in the background, but my butt
- 10:15Speaker 2: was in the foreground, as it should be, as it
- 10:19Speaker 2: should be.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Any you should do a calendar, You should sell calendars
- 10:24Speaker 3: and team up with cheap and clueless.
- 10:26Speaker 5: And since I'm in my merch era, why don't I
- 10:28Speaker 5: have my own merch?
- 10:29Speaker 4: That's a good question.
- 10:30Speaker 3: And did this bring us back to merch? I want
- 10:32Speaker 3: to know if there's any other merch you've bought.
- 10:33Speaker 5: Okay, yes, I well, I just had a film play
- 10:36Speaker 5: at Silver Lake Shorts, and so I bought merch there.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm telling you, anywhere I go, I'm buying.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I think it's a good idea. Merch is there. You know,
- 10:45Speaker 3: if people are selling the merch because they needed a
- 10:47Speaker 3: little extra cash exactly, especially if you're in a musician's concert,
- 10:52Speaker 3: buy a piece of merch, Buy a piece, throw them
- 10:55Speaker 3: in extra twenty five to fifty dollars.
- 10:58Speaker 5: And I feel like they Okay, there's a part of
- 11:01Speaker 5: me that loves it for the now. It makes me
- 11:02Speaker 5: feel like I'm like, I'm curating this cool life experience
- 11:06Speaker 5: and I like wearing the things, and I'm just like,
- 11:08Speaker 5: but also there's this idea that I'm like, this is
- 11:10Speaker 5: going to be so cool in like twenty five or
- 11:12Speaker 5: thirty years. Oh, even though I don't know if the
- 11:14Speaker 5: Earth is still going to exist in it or the
- 11:15Speaker 5: earth work says, I don't know that humans will says,
- 11:17Speaker 5: but my Andre three thousand shirt, well, and.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Some I mean, if someone comes from another planet them
- 11:23Speaker 3: stumbling upon the Andre three thousand shirt.
- 11:24Speaker 2: They're gonna love it.
- 11:25Speaker 3: And Andre three thousand would be so happy that happened. Oh
- 11:28Speaker 3: he would love That's probably his dream.
- 11:31Speaker 2: That's his dream.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It's probably his ultimate fantasy.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah, let me.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Ask your opinion on how much a March T shirt
- 11:37Speaker 3: should cost.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yes, you've got a dine warm.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Have you ever been to Clark Street Diner?
- 11:43Speaker 2: No, I haven't.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Wonderful restaurant here in Los Angeles, fantastic diner. They have
- 11:48Speaker 3: a great T shirt, a great piece of merch with
- 11:50Speaker 3: a lovely picture of breakfast on it. I think they're
- 11:53Speaker 3: charging forty five dollars acceptable, that is, that's the price
- 11:57Speaker 3: with the long sleeve.
- 11:59Speaker 2: That's what that's the not only that's the price of
- 12:00Speaker 2: a long sleep.
- 12:01Speaker 5: If I was at Dantana's, d'antanna's has merch nout Oh interesting,
- 12:05Speaker 5: Dantanna's had a long sleeve shirt, I would say, okay,
- 12:08Speaker 5: I'll pay forty five dollars because it's Dantana's. I'm not
- 12:10Speaker 5: paying forty five dollars for Clark Street T shirt. T
- 12:14Speaker 5: shirt twenty five dollars, House OFFT thirty X. It's just
- 12:18Speaker 5: regular college.
- 12:19Speaker 3: What are we talking about, Gus. They've gone too far.
- 12:21Speaker 3: They've gone way too far with this. And I feel
- 12:23Speaker 3: bad saying it because I eat there probably four times
- 12:25Speaker 3: a week. But they've got to rearrange the T shirt prices.
- 12:29Speaker 5: If you eat there four times a week, I want you,
- 12:32Speaker 5: I want them to give you the shirt.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I mean I've said that. I haven't said it to
- 12:35Speaker 3: an employee yet, but I feel like they probably own
- 12:37Speaker 3: me a T shirt.
- 12:38Speaker 2: At this point. They're listening now.
- 12:40Speaker 3: They have ruined me financially. I don't have the money
- 12:43Speaker 3: to buy the T shirt. Oh my god, too busy
- 12:45Speaker 3: spending it on a cobb salad.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I did get a piece of merch that was disappointing recess.
- 12:49Speaker 4: What was it?
- 12:50Speaker 2: So Seinfeld is like my favorite show.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Okay, So when I was in New York, I got
- 12:54Speaker 5: the merch from Tom's Diner where they're always eating. It
- 12:58Speaker 5: was a very hard Oh no, the oversized wasn't oversized enough.
- 13:04Speaker 5: So when I wear it, I feel like I'm working
- 13:06Speaker 5: at tom Steiner.
- 13:07Speaker 3: That's like late nineties, early thousands merch, when there wasn't
- 13:11Speaker 3: quite the quality that you needed for merch. It was
- 13:14Speaker 3: a last thought. Yeah, and usually those things would be free.
- 13:17Speaker 3: You would be thrown in as a promo item. So
- 13:20Speaker 3: you're getting trash, Oh we are.
- 13:21Speaker 5: This is a true sign of inflation or just bad times.
- 13:24Speaker 5: But now you're right.
- 13:25Speaker 2: We used to be able to get merch for free.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Oh, it's such a shame.
- 13:28Speaker 5: I just spent two hundred dollars on a vintage Seinfeld sweatshirt.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, And because I'm in La Girly.
- 13:35Speaker 5: It's a vintage Seinfeld sweatsher but from KTLA when they
- 13:38Speaker 5: started syndicating it, so it's got the key.
- 13:40Speaker 3: That's a dream piece of merch because it's very specific,
- 13:43Speaker 3: hyper local. Yeah, my favorite piece of merch. I got
- 13:47Speaker 3: it a car test drive. It's a superwo T shirt.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Oh that's good.
- 13:52Speaker 3: It's now I think seventeen years old and it's falling apart,
- 13:56Speaker 3: but I can't let go of it.
- 13:57Speaker 4: It's my favorite shirt.
- 13:57Speaker 2: You wear it? Yes, okay? Good because you know some
- 13:59Speaker 2: people won't wear their vintage shirts.
- 14:01Speaker 3: This one. It looks too good not to wear. A
- 14:03Speaker 3: friend recently told me, though, you have to stop washing it.
- 14:06Speaker 3: You need to put it in the freezer. Have you
- 14:08Speaker 3: ever heard this?
- 14:08Speaker 5: Oh my god, I heard this about jeans and I
- 14:11Speaker 5: forgot it.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Okay, tell me everything, because I don't think I'm doing
- 14:14Speaker 2: my vintage.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Evidently you cannot. Once you get to ap point when
- 14:17Speaker 3: they're starting to get holes.
- 14:18Speaker 4: In it.
- 14:18Speaker 3: You will destroy the thing if you put it through
- 14:20Speaker 3: the wash. But if you put it in the freezer,
- 14:23Speaker 3: just leave it in the freezer for a day or whatever.
- 14:25Speaker 3: And look, I am a scientist, so I can speak
- 14:27Speaker 3: to this. Apparently the bacteria is killed and that's how
- 14:32Speaker 3: you clean it.
- 14:33Speaker 2: This is good for me to know.
- 14:34Speaker 3: But I'm curious about scent.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Well, body went out, Yeah, body, okay, I have a
- 14:40Speaker 2: question for you. What so you said your vintage You're okay.
- 14:44Speaker 5: You said you're seventeen year old Suberu shirt, and I
- 14:46Speaker 5: immediately started calling it vintage. And I'm thinking, I know
- 14:48Speaker 5: there's gonna be people listening going seventeen years old, that's
- 14:50Speaker 5: not vintage.
- 14:51Speaker 2: What constitute vintage for you?
- 14:53Speaker 3: This is a great question, And I really feel like
- 14:55Speaker 3: anything that was made post nineteen ninety two is not vintage,
- 14:58Speaker 3: should never be called vintage.
- 15:00Speaker 2: We post nineteen okay, maybe that's.
- 15:02Speaker 3: A little I would say ninety let's say ninety eight.
- 15:05Speaker 5: Okay, you're right on the money. I think they've decided.
- 15:09Speaker 5: I think they've decided that anything made before two thousand
- 15:15Speaker 5: is considered vendom.
- 15:16Speaker 3: That makes a little more sense because when I like
- 15:17Speaker 3: go thrifting, and I'm at like an actual thrift store,
- 15:19Speaker 3: not like a curated place. It's now just like truly like, oh,
- 15:23Speaker 3: this shirt is from two thousand and nine Targets, and
- 15:27Speaker 3: it's kind of like, I guess you could argue that
- 15:29Speaker 3: it's vintage, but it just looks like garbage.
- 15:31Speaker 2: It's just garbage.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Or it's like a T shirt for Limp Biscuit or something,
- 15:35Speaker 3: and it's just like this is from a bad maybe
- 15:36Speaker 3: it's bad period of time or something. But I feel
- 15:40Speaker 3: like you just associate vintage with like sixty seventies, eighties
- 15:44Speaker 3: and now early nineties.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Yeah, but I mean, but that also might be us
- 15:49Speaker 5: wanting to ignore the factor that we're getting older.
- 15:52Speaker 3: But I'll also say I think the quality of clothes
- 15:54Speaker 3: were better.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Than oh, one hundred versas.
- 15:56Speaker 3: So we got to this once we got into the
- 15:58Speaker 3: world of fast fashioned vintage is a nightmare.
- 16:01Speaker 2: And our clothes a giving us cancer.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you know about that's getting it right now.
- 16:05Speaker 5: I'm I could cells are going crazy in my body
- 16:09Speaker 5: everything I'm wearing.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Let's see, I guess this was made in two thousand
- 16:12Speaker 3: and probably ten. I bought this used. My pants are new,
- 16:15Speaker 3: my socks are new. Yeah, okay, I'm loaded up with cancer, but.
- 16:18Speaker 5: You're you're safe from the top up because I can
- 16:20Speaker 5: tell this is a good quality shirt you said you
- 16:22Speaker 5: got in twenty ten, so you're definitely not getting cancer, right, And.
- 16:24Speaker 3: This seems like a good quality dress.
- 16:26Speaker 5: You're y it is it's by the it is new,
- 16:28Speaker 5: but it's by this local la company called Damson Matter.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Oh.
- 16:32Speaker 5: I like that name exactly me too, And they make
- 16:34Speaker 5: everything is like ego.
- 16:36Speaker 4: They'll come across.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Do you know what's a terrifying fact I learned last
- 16:39Speaker 3: night is that if you live within a mile of
- 16:41Speaker 3: a golf course, it increases your chances of getting Parkinson's
- 16:45Speaker 3: by one hundred and twenty six percent.
- 16:47Speaker 2: I heard that. I'll try that.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Why why haven't we not closed down every golf course?
- 16:51Speaker 2: Why? Yeah? Wait? And what's the one hundred and twenty
- 16:54Speaker 2: five feet.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Or what is it a mile again?
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah? Feet?
- 16:58Speaker 3: By if you live directly a golf course, you'll get Parkinson's. No,
- 17:02Speaker 3: but a mile, which is a pretty big distance.
- 17:04Speaker 5: That's a big distance. And then what's happening to the
- 17:06Speaker 5: people that golf all the time?
- 17:07Speaker 3: They're getting Parkinson's.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I'm really scared of getting dementia.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Oh, I have a real horrifying, absolutely horrifying, and there's
- 17:15Speaker 3: kind Well, maybe they're working on it.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I don't think so. I don't think they're working on anything.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Is dementia something that kind of runs in the family
- 17:24Speaker 3: or is it something that can just pop up?
- 17:26Speaker 2: I think both.
- 17:27Speaker 5: My grandpa definitely got dementia, but he was a raging alcoholic.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Okay, oh yeah, that said. The heavy alcohol alcohol consumption,
- 17:34Speaker 3: I think can contribute to it and contribute to it.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I think I'm not a scientist, but.
- 17:38Speaker 5: I'm not a great sleeper, so I take stuff to
- 17:41Speaker 5: help me sleep.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Oh, and I go, I think this is probably going
- 17:45Speaker 2: to contribute to me getting dementia.
- 17:47Speaker 5: But I can't get off of it because I feel
- 17:48Speaker 5: like I'm too busy to be tired. So I need
- 17:50Speaker 5: to check myself out of life for like six weeks
- 17:53Speaker 5: and and shop catch up.
- 17:57Speaker 2: My daughter get my body used to not taking anything
- 17:59Speaker 2: to sleep?
- 18:00Speaker 3: What are you taking to sleep?
- 18:01Speaker 2: Xanax? But I just take it to sleep, that's it.
- 18:06Speaker 5: But in my like maybe ten or no, ten or
- 18:09Speaker 5: fifteen years ago, I tried ambient Oh, but it.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Was one of those people that was doing crazy shit
- 18:15Speaker 2: on ambient.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there's no way I could take ambient. I
- 18:18Speaker 3: would absolutely like burn my house down or something. Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 3: you want to get.
- 18:22Speaker 2: A super shirt in the Washingman Chase, honey.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Ultimately I would destroy a vintage T shirt the worst
- 18:27Speaker 3: thing of hall. That's why I'm not a no. It's
- 18:31Speaker 3: so frightening, and I have. I used to have a
- 18:33Speaker 3: lot of sleep walking incidents as a kid, and frequently
- 18:37Speaker 3: caused by like medication, you know, like if I was
- 18:39Speaker 3: sick or whatever. So I'm like, as an adult, when
- 18:41Speaker 3: I'm fully capable of doing anything, I can't risk.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Oh my s you cannot risk that your reputation could
- 18:48Speaker 5: be destroyed.
- 18:50Speaker 3: My reputations on the line. What would people think about
- 18:55Speaker 3: what happened to the reviews of the podcast?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Oh my god, they might take.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Well, oh gosh, look speaking of you know, horrible things
- 19:07Speaker 3: happening to people's reputations. Really just not thinking about how
- 19:12Speaker 3: you were, you're perceived in the world. This podcast is
- 19:15Speaker 3: called I said no gifts, and I was really looking
- 19:19Speaker 3: forward to having you here today. I thought, Haley will
- 19:21Speaker 3: come by, we'll have a nice chat, we'll catch up,
- 19:25Speaker 3: move on. No hurt feelings, no discomfort whatsoever. And so
- 19:33Speaker 3: you know, I know emails are sent out about the podcast,
- 19:35Speaker 3: or at least I've been told, and I know the time.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I mean the titles right there. So I was a
- 19:39Speaker 3: little surprised. I don't want to say I was irked
- 19:43Speaker 3: or annoyed, but I did notice that you brought a
- 19:46Speaker 3: gift today.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I did. Do you think you'll be able to forgive me?
- 19:52Speaker 3: You know time? You know we have to.
- 19:54Speaker 2: We'll just see what happens with time. They do say
- 19:57Speaker 2: time heals.
- 19:57Speaker 3: All wound, yes, and so it could be used. I
- 20:01Speaker 3: may take it to the grave.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Well, I hope you take what I gave you to
- 20:04Speaker 2: the grave.
- 20:05Speaker 3: This is okay. Now, whoever's listening to this when I'm dead,
- 20:09Speaker 3: there's one thing I need to be buried with. We're
- 20:10Speaker 3: about to find out what it is.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I'm very excited to give it.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Okay, should here put it here?
- 20:16Speaker 4: Okay?
- 20:19Speaker 2: And I did it just bring you a gift. I
- 20:20Speaker 2: put it in a cue bag.
- 20:21Speaker 3: The bag is listener. If you're not watching the video,
- 20:24Speaker 3: which is on YouTube, don't forget. This is the best
- 20:27Speaker 3: bag we've ever gotten on the pod. Least it's gorgeous.
- 20:30Speaker 5: I feel like it matches your vibe. Because it's like
- 20:32Speaker 5: island d you've you're giving me island vibes with that shirt.
- 20:34Speaker 3: It's my deep tan. Now this is I want to
- 20:38Speaker 3: move here into this bag. It's the most beautiful watercolor
- 20:42Speaker 3: island experience. And then the tissue is almost like whipped cream.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Don't be more mad. But there is a card in there.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Oh will you read the card? But I doubly wait
- 20:50Speaker 2: you just.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Oh that was the card.
- 20:54Speaker 2: No, that wasn't the car.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I just throw the whole bag in the spell. Okay,
- 20:59Speaker 3: let's find the card.
- 21:00Speaker 5: He don't tell me it fell out in my way, and.
- 21:05Speaker 4: It may have.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I'm not looking at this.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Wait is there?
- 21:07Speaker 1: No?
- 21:08Speaker 2: There we go.
- 21:09Speaker 3: I don't want to see this yet.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I don't want to read.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Don't see that a very honest person. Okay. Oh and
- 21:14Speaker 3: a gorgeous postcard? Where did you get this? Where did
- 21:16Speaker 3: you get any of this?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Tasteful? Thank you?
- 21:20Speaker 3: Okay, says hey Bridger. I really hope you can forgive
- 21:23Speaker 3: me for bringing a gift.
- 21:23Speaker 4: We've been over that.
- 21:25Speaker 3: It just uh, it's just when I saw this, I
- 21:27Speaker 3: thought of you and exclaimed, Bridger needs this. It has
- 21:30Speaker 3: your name all over it. I hope you love it
- 21:32Speaker 3: and that it doesn't end up in a landfill. Well,
- 21:35Speaker 3: it's going to be in my grave and my coffin
- 21:36Speaker 3: or burned with me. I do want to be burned too.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And they're in the postage, says I said, yes gifts.
- 21:42Speaker 3: This is read and then signed by Hayley. This is
- 21:45Speaker 3: really lovely. I mean, I'm not forgiving you. Okay, let's
- 21:48Speaker 3: get in here.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:49Speaker 5: I just want to say that this top, this is
- 21:51Speaker 5: brand new. The top is only open because there was
- 21:53Speaker 5: two of these things in there and I took out
- 21:55Speaker 5: once we could be matching.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Oh I have mine here.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Too, okay, okay, very exciting. Okay, so I have let's see.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Oh my god, it's a premium scalp massage or by
- 22:05Speaker 3: the brand you Saga. You Saga sounds like a publishing
- 22:11Speaker 3: company where you like give them your name and information
- 22:13Speaker 3: and they write a novel about you. Yes, an ideas podcast,
- 22:17Speaker 3: that's what this is. Yes, there we go, you Saga. Okay, Wow,
- 22:21Speaker 3: let me look at this thing.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the bottom go from the bottom.
- 22:24Speaker 3: No bottom, It's in almost a toddler Own style box.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yes, it is a nice box too, isn't it.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, Oh this looks incredible. Oh This is a
- 22:39Speaker 3: dream come true.
- 22:40Speaker 2: You like it right right now?
- 22:43Speaker 3: Oh, this has happened on Earth. I'm already massaging my scalp.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I've never had one of these before.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Oh, that makes me so happy.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Oh and you've got you.
- 22:52Speaker 5: They put two of these in here, Yes, because I
- 22:54Speaker 5: because I thought, you know what, we can scrap scalp, scalp?
- 22:59Speaker 2: We can. I was thinking, you know, we could scratch together.
- 23:02Speaker 2: But then I put my I forgot on the other
- 23:04Speaker 2: side of me to get it for you. And can
- 23:06Speaker 2: I get up better frame?
- 23:07Speaker 3: And I'm not allowed to get off out of the seat.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Of course you can, and I'll massage my scalp while
- 23:12Speaker 3: you were doing it. Listener, this feels amazing. It's I
- 23:15Speaker 3: don't know if you've ever seen a massage, scout massage.
- 23:18Speaker 3: It's you know, it's like one of the ones that
- 23:20Speaker 3: looks like a whisk. I could just get double in
- 23:22Speaker 3: the kitchen as well, I bake. Oh, my's incredible. You
- 23:29Speaker 3: know a lot of self massages don't work.
- 23:31Speaker 5: And they're so annoying because you you're hurting your muscles
- 23:35Speaker 5: trying to massage another.
- 23:37Speaker 3: This is just like pure relaxation.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Are you a TV watcher like can you see yourself?
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah? Absolutely, I just finished Hunting Wives. This would have
- 23:45Speaker 3: been perfect.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Okay, Can I just tell you something fucked up? Yeah?
- 23:48Speaker 3: Of course I auditioned for.
- 23:50Speaker 2: The Hunting Wives. Oh and you'll never believe guess what
- 23:53Speaker 2: role I auditioned for.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Let's see, I'm trying to remember any of their names.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Who's the Who's mom?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Who?
- 24:03Speaker 3: No, that's not you. Maybe what's her name? Chloe? No,
- 24:07Speaker 3: main character, Chloe.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I wish no.
- 24:09Speaker 5: They called me in four At the time, her name
- 24:12Speaker 5: was just Wanda, and then it became Detective Salazar and
- 24:16Speaker 5: it's like the woman the least.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Likely world that you should ever come me in for.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And oh my my god.
- 24:22Speaker 3: You would have been like any of the Hunting Wives
- 24:24Speaker 3: and would bring that fun energy's that the Hunting Wives needed.
- 24:27Speaker 5: No, they were only calling in black people for and
- 24:31Speaker 5: the leads name the least fun roles. And the character's
- 24:35Speaker 5: name was just Wanda at the time. Now they're like
- 24:37Speaker 5: detective Salads are. But her name was just Wanna and
- 24:40Speaker 5: there's only one black Wanda and it's Wanda Sykes.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, of course.
- 24:43Speaker 2: But Wanda is.
- 24:44Speaker 5: A name that as an actor, you get called in
- 24:46Speaker 5: all the times for there's two names, show three names, Sheila, Wanda,
- 24:50Speaker 5: and Olivia if they want to like pretend to be
- 24:53Speaker 5: more well.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Right, So, all my black friends.
- 24:55Speaker 5: And I were like, why are we getting all these
- 24:57Speaker 5: wand daughters just and suddenly and for Wanda to Detective
- 25:00Speaker 5: Salads are they wanted you to like have this limp
- 25:03Speaker 5: And they were saying that you needed to. Half of
- 25:06Speaker 5: her hair was shaved, was shaved, her hair was all
- 25:08Speaker 5: fucked up because she had just gotten out of the
- 25:09Speaker 5: hospital or something. And I'm like, black people, black women,
- 25:12Speaker 5: We're not going to walk around with fucked up hair.
- 25:14Speaker 2: No black woman is getting out of the hospital. And
- 25:16Speaker 2: if half of your hair is shaved, you're getting away.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yes, that would be the first step or truly anybody
- 25:22Speaker 3: or anybody. And also the character didn't end up having that.
- 25:25Speaker 2: The character didn't end up having that.
- 25:27Speaker 5: And I'm a cutie, Petuti, Why am I not one
- 25:29Speaker 5: of the hunting wives that's getting naked and showing my
- 25:31Speaker 5: titty of.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Course and shooting a pig in the woods.
- 25:33Speaker 2: And shooting a pig in the woods. That's crazy, Detective Solad, Sir,
- 25:39Speaker 2: the limp?
- 25:40Speaker 3: Why did she have a like, I mean, okay, it's
- 25:43Speaker 3: not like the show is the top quality. I'm like
- 25:45Speaker 3: asking why one thing was wrong with speaking of wigs.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Oh, it didn't bother me that much.
- 25:53Speaker 3: I mean I think it contributed.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I think, you know what, that's a great point. I
- 25:57Speaker 5: think it contributed to.
- 25:59Speaker 3: There are some on meelan acrav and some hairs that
- 26:02Speaker 3: are just doing their own things, flying all over the place,
- 26:06Speaker 3: so distract.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Is it fucked up for me to say her her
- 26:09Speaker 2: her titties looked really good? Is that like? I bet
- 26:11Speaker 2: she'd appreciate that, because I google like she's got kids
- 26:15Speaker 2: or a kid like. I just thought she looked she
- 26:19Speaker 2: looks great, beautiful, showed her boobs in it.
- 26:22Speaker 3: I feel like, did you ever see the comeback? Which
- 26:26Speaker 3: one is the comeback Hayley with Lisa Kudro.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Oh, Well, of course I saw the comeback.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I was gonna ask you to leave this.
- 26:34Speaker 2: That would have been really bad. That would have been
- 26:36Speaker 2: super embarrassing.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I feel like she shows her boobs in that too. See,
- 26:41Speaker 3: I don't think she's very comfortable with her body.
- 26:43Speaker 5: I think this is my early onset dementia because I
- 26:46Speaker 5: don't remember her in the comeback.
- 26:48Speaker 3: She's fantastic. I replays this character Juna, who is like
- 26:51Speaker 3: the in the first comeback. You know, they shoot like
- 26:54Speaker 3: the multicamp sitcom and she's like the young hot girl
- 26:57Speaker 3: in it, but she's so sweet and wonderful.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Boarding room or something room and boardroom.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So now you've you've proven because you could have been
- 27:05Speaker 3: lying up until this point. You could have just been saying, yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 3: I saw it.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Well, they're making a new comeback, you know.
- 27:08Speaker 3: I'm so excited, but it's always risky.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Maybe I'll get an audition for Wanda in it.
- 27:15Speaker 3: That's so crazy.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'm the last Wanda. Remember when periscope used to be
- 27:18Speaker 2: a thing.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I was never on periscope.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Good.
- 27:22Speaker 3: It's kind of the opposite of how I want to
- 27:23Speaker 3: communicate with anyone.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeh in a live fashion.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Live and kind of just you know, you would just
- 27:28Speaker 3: get them right.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you would.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Just get warning.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I was always going life.
- 27:35Speaker 5: But I had shorter hair at the time, and there
- 27:37Speaker 5: was a couple of people that would come on and
- 27:39Speaker 5: say that I looked like Wanda oh because they had
- 27:42Speaker 5: shord hair and Wanda is so cute.
- 27:44Speaker 3: But you know what, I think very different people.
- 27:46Speaker 5: I think I need I need to talk to my
- 27:48Speaker 5: therapist about all these my.
- 27:51Speaker 2: The Wanda curse.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad you're calling this out though.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, interesting, Yeah yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Listeners, don't call any black woman Wanda unless it's Wanda says,
- 28:02Speaker 5: because we're gonna feel some type of way about it.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Did you finish the show The Hunting Wives? Oh?
- 28:07Speaker 5: Of course, probably in less than a day. I'm in
- 28:10Speaker 5: my Also in my TV, all I want to do
- 28:12Speaker 5: is watch TV.
- 28:13Speaker 3: That is so much TV. Tool It's so much.
- 28:16Speaker 2: TV to watch and I used to feel guilty about
- 28:17Speaker 2: watching TV. Not anymore.
- 28:19Speaker 3: What else are you going to be doing?
- 28:20Speaker 2: I'm working on myself.
- 28:22Speaker 3: No. Also, it's your career.
- 28:26Speaker 2: It's that's really what I've been saying, Like you're doing homework.
- 28:28Speaker 5: I am doing homework, and I feel like I have
- 28:30Speaker 5: gotten way better at what I do since I've been
- 28:32Speaker 5: watching TV.
- 28:33Speaker 3: And I imagine you learned a lot from Hunting Wives. Absolutely,
- 28:39Speaker 3: it was so wild, wild show.
- 28:43Speaker 5: Even my mom, who's very conservative, admitted to watching yesterday and.
- 28:47Speaker 2: That she really liked it.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Oh.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Interesting, And you know who told me to watch it?
- 28:50Speaker 2: Alison Brie. Oh. I just shot at Macy's campaign with
- 28:53Speaker 2: her last week.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Oh, she's fantastic.
- 28:55Speaker 5: She's fantastic. She was really great to work with, and
- 28:57Speaker 5: she said, you got to watch Hunting Wine.
- 28:58Speaker 3: You both could play hunting wives. So they should bring
- 28:59Speaker 3: you in for season two. But do you know what
- 29:02Speaker 3: the problem is is now they're I think season two
- 29:04Speaker 3: they're like going to be self aware and it's going
- 29:06Speaker 3: to ruin it.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:08Speaker 3: You know, it was made in a vacuum and no
- 29:10Speaker 3: one knew what was going on and that's why it
- 29:12Speaker 3: was so special, and that it's going to come back
- 29:14Speaker 3: and they'll probably have too much money.
- 29:16Speaker 2: They'll probably yeah, what do you do? What do you
- 29:18Speaker 2: think the budget was for this one?
- 29:19Speaker 4: Four hundred dollars?
- 29:22Speaker 2: I do I want to come in season two. I
- 29:24Speaker 2: want to be really scandalous.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Game you should.
- 29:26Speaker 3: You should come in as a scandalous cop, scandalous detective.
- 29:31Speaker 2: God, I want to be fucking everybody.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Doesn't have a limp, but as a strut I think
- 29:36Speaker 3: that that's your character. I can the limp. Let's be honest.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I was barely paying attention to what was you know,
- 29:42Speaker 3: I was half on my phone, but it was like,
- 29:45Speaker 3: just to make the character interesting. Was that the point?
- 29:47Speaker 3: I don't I don't know. It was fresh out of
- 29:49Speaker 3: the hospital, thing, but I don't think it ever happened.
- 29:51Speaker 5: Speaking about being on your phone, apparently Netflix has this
- 29:54Speaker 5: whole second screen thing.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Have you heard about this?
- 29:57Speaker 5: So when they're dealing with their exacts and show runners
- 30:00Speaker 5: or whatever, apparently one of the notes that they give
- 30:02Speaker 5: all the time is it is it second screen enough?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Meaning?
- 30:05Speaker 5: Will people still be able to clock what's going on
- 30:08Speaker 5: with this show while they're on their second screen phone?
- 30:11Speaker 5: Because we're all on our phones.
- 30:12Speaker 3: That is such a dark thing.
- 30:15Speaker 2: It's so dark.
- 30:16Speaker 5: I feel like I'm productive now when I watch a movie,
- 30:18Speaker 5: your TV show because because.
- 30:21Speaker 2: We're also scrolling so much.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, if I complete a movie, I say, oh
- 30:24Speaker 5: my god, I'm.
- 30:25Speaker 3: It feels like reading the longest novel of all times.
- 30:28Speaker 2: It's infinite, Jazzy, I.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Just finished a movie that's over ninety minutes.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Look at me.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Go wait, oh I thought you were well you did?
- 30:37Speaker 2: You saw Jows?
- 30:37Speaker 3: I saw Jos in a theater.
- 30:38Speaker 2: That's the trick that's impressed.
- 30:40Speaker 3: I have to be in a theater to otherwise I'll
- 30:43Speaker 3: at least pause.
- 30:44Speaker 4: The movie once.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Oh I pause all the time.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I've got If I can sit through an entire movie
- 30:49Speaker 3: at home without pausing, something my limbs have been broken.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you're dead.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like, I'm literally handcuffed. The couch or something,
- 30:56Speaker 3: which I do think is a good idea for a chair.
- 30:58Speaker 3: You sit down in it and then you press a
- 31:00Speaker 3: button and it locks you in for the length of
- 31:02Speaker 3: whatever you're watching. And now let's say the house catches fire.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Uh oh yeah, something would maybe as a smoke detector
- 31:07Speaker 3: on it so it can let you go. But I
- 31:10Speaker 3: would I probably would buy that product, something that just
- 31:14Speaker 3: forces you to sit still.
- 31:16Speaker 5: I you know why I wouldn't because I'm really weird
- 31:20Speaker 5: about peeing. Oh yeah, I drink a lot of water.
- 31:25Speaker 5: I'm very I'm a very hydrated person.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Well, there should be a toilet in it problem solved,
- 31:30Speaker 3: or a diaper.
- 31:31Speaker 5: That would be a dream come true. I need to
- 31:34Speaker 5: know that I can pee at any time.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I'm kind of kind of in the same camp.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Really.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yes, you're a peer. I'm a peer, and I'm very
- 31:43Speaker 3: serious about it. Yeah, and I have to pee often,
- 31:46Speaker 3: me too. I drink a ton of liquid.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and you look hydrated.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 31:51Speaker 3: You do too for glowing.
- 31:52Speaker 2: We are glowing.
- 31:53Speaker 3: We're glowing.
- 31:54Speaker 4: We're dewey.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Yes, you know, last year I made a big prediction
- 31:57Speaker 3: that public urination would be big this year, and it
- 32:01Speaker 3: turns out it's true.
- 32:02Speaker 2: I love being in public.
- 32:03Speaker 3: I think everyone should be allowed to pee in public.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 32:06Speaker 5: I would rather, okay, you know, like when you're on
- 32:08Speaker 5: a road trip or something. I would one hundred percent
- 32:10Speaker 5: rather pee in public than go into some janky ass
- 32:13Speaker 5: gas station.
- 32:14Speaker 3: It's much cleaner.
- 32:15Speaker 5: It's much cleaner, and I sure to perfect at the squad.
- 32:18Speaker 5: You just have to do like the right squad, and
- 32:20Speaker 5: you have to position perfectly so that you don't get
- 32:22Speaker 5: any p on your shoes.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Yeah. See this for women, that's tricky.
- 32:25Speaker 2: It is tricky. I've been unsuccessful a few times. Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I guess I'm speaking from a privileged place of it
- 32:31Speaker 3: being very easy to pee in public. Yeah, but I
- 32:34Speaker 3: think everyone should be allowed to. All of our pets
- 32:36Speaker 3: are doing it.
- 32:37Speaker 2: All of our pets are doing it everywhere.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Who's harmed when I'm peeing in public?
- 32:43Speaker 5: Yeah? How come you can't just be on someone's yard? Right,
- 32:46Speaker 5: you're in Burbank. We're in Burbank. Just go be on
- 32:48Speaker 5: someone's yard. Five hundred million dogs have peede right there.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yes, my pe is of better liquids.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I would think so. I would absolutely.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Nothing wrong with it. It's not a help concern, it's
- 33:00Speaker 3: not a hazard.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I guess it's a smell concern.
- 33:03Speaker 3: It maybe is smell concern, and people maybe people would
- 33:06Speaker 3: I think you should get like a little voucher. You
- 33:08Speaker 3: should get to do it like twice a year.
- 33:10Speaker 5: And only, and then we should all have wrist bands
- 33:13Speaker 5: where it's like we're okay seeing someone p in front
- 33:15Speaker 5: of you, because I guess that's the consent thing too, right, Like, yeah,
- 33:18Speaker 5: I would definitely give consent because I want to see
- 33:21Speaker 5: penises ping.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I think it's hot.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Honestly, you're in the city to do it.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I'm in the city to do it.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you can see anything in Los Angeles.
- 33:29Speaker 2: You can. When I'm dating someone, at a certain point,
- 33:32Speaker 2: I go, can I see you pee?
- 33:34Speaker 3: Is that true? Yeah?
- 33:35Speaker 5: I get into I'm like, I want to see someone pee.
- 33:37Speaker 5: I think it's sexy.
- 33:38Speaker 3: How has that gone for you? Has it worked pretty good?
- 33:40Speaker 5: Although the guy was most recently, it was very excited
- 33:43Speaker 5: to see him P. And then when I saw him P,
- 33:45Speaker 5: I thought, Okay, that was a little unremarkable.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Did you break up with him?
- 33:49Speaker 2: Well? Yeah, but not because of that, and it contributed.
- 33:53Speaker 3: It was. It was part of the puzzle that as we.
- 33:56Speaker 5: Were together longer, I liked watching him p more and
- 33:58Speaker 5: more did I loved him?
- 34:01Speaker 2: I did. I did enjoy being watching him.
- 34:03Speaker 3: And that's a very mature level of being in a relationship,
- 34:05Speaker 3: being able to see somebody use the bathroom.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but I would never do the other one. I
- 34:08Speaker 2: don't even want to say it now.
- 34:11Speaker 3: If what about him asking to see you pay? Oh no,
- 34:14Speaker 3: I'm into that, Okay, Okay, so it's fair, okay.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Interesting, not white, but that's two personal Okay, Oh god,
- 34:20Speaker 2: that's disgusting.
- 34:21Speaker 3: I mean, do what you want to do. Everybody has
- 34:24Speaker 3: their thing.
- 34:25Speaker 2: You can see me sitting other and you could hear
- 34:27Speaker 2: some good coming out.
- 34:28Speaker 3: That's where it's got, right. Yeah, I think one step
- 34:32Speaker 3: beyond that that. Yeah, let's get out of here.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you pe in front of your partner husband?
- 34:36Speaker 2: What do you have?
- 34:37Speaker 4: Boyfriend?
- 34:37Speaker 2: Boyfriend?
- 34:38Speaker 3: Ok No, do not be in front of each other?
- 34:40Speaker 2: Okay, wow, I never asked, so you would be in public,
- 34:44Speaker 2: but not in front of your boyfriend?
- 34:45Speaker 4: Exactly?
- 34:46Speaker 2: What's this about?
- 34:47Speaker 3: That's a great question, and I guess it's let's see,
- 34:52Speaker 3: I guess it's that I don't care about the greater population.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I guess everyone else could just I don't care how
- 34:57Speaker 3: they feel about me, and I don't care about them,
- 34:59Speaker 3: but about my boyfriend.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Okay, Oh that's true love.
- 35:03Speaker 4: I think. Yeah, I guess that's it.
- 35:05Speaker 2: That's really true listing, but.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I would. My dog has recently learned to open doors,
- 35:10Speaker 3: and she's, uh, you know, coming in when I'm peeing,
- 35:13Speaker 3: and like, Bonnie, you've got to you need to leave
- 35:17Speaker 3: my cat.
- 35:18Speaker 5: I have, I have got I've got four rescue animals,
- 35:20Speaker 5: which I know sounds unhinged.
- 35:22Speaker 2: That's lovely, thank you.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Two of my dogs are seniors. They're thirteen. One just
- 35:26Speaker 5: started chemo, but he's gonna be okay.
- 35:28Speaker 2: He's okay. The other one I okay.
- 35:29Speaker 5: My dogs have cardiologists on collagists and what are the.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Heart doctors called cardiologists?
- 35:36Speaker 5: Oh yeah, cardiologists on collegists, ophthalmologists.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Wow, the eyes, even the eyes.
- 35:41Speaker 5: I just got cataract surgery for one of my dogs.
- 35:43Speaker 5: My other dog is now on. He just had to
- 35:45Speaker 5: have half his pancreas removed.
- 35:48Speaker 2: But they're everything. But okay.
- 35:49Speaker 5: So I have also have two rescue cats and my
- 35:52Speaker 5: one orange cat Sticky likes to come and sit on
- 35:55Speaker 5: my lap life. Oh no, he he always there's a
- 36:01Speaker 5: thing about like, yes, there's something he thinks he's like
- 36:05Speaker 5: protecting me or something. But like he will come jump
- 36:08Speaker 5: on my lap when I'm peeing. That's very c It
- 36:11Speaker 5: is very sweet because I pee in the middle of
- 36:13Speaker 5: the night and so when he.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Comes in, Oh, that's really lovely. How how old were
- 36:18Speaker 3: your dogs when you got them?
- 36:19Speaker 2: They were only eight weeks old, so I've had him
- 36:21Speaker 2: for all thirteen years.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Oh.
- 36:23Speaker 5: I got them at the pound on the day they
- 36:24Speaker 5: were going to be put down. I drove all the
- 36:25Speaker 5: way to Lancaster.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Oh that's so sweet. Are they big or small?
- 36:30Speaker 2: Small?
- 36:30Speaker 3: Yeah? I guess when if they're thirteen, they've got to
- 36:32Speaker 3: be small dogs.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Oh that's really I want them to.
- 36:34Speaker 5: People are like warning me that they're going to die soon,
- 36:37Speaker 5: but I don't think that they are. But people are like, well,
- 36:40Speaker 5: this is like you're in denial. But I'm like, no,
- 36:43Speaker 5: I think I have at least three years.
- 36:44Speaker 3: It a little dog. I think you really can get
- 36:46Speaker 3: you know, fifteen, sixteen years old.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Yeah, they can, and the light is still on in
- 36:50Speaker 5: their eyes and they're best friends. So they still put
- 36:53Speaker 5: Oh my god, I just had to get so Bowie,
- 36:55Speaker 5: the little swan who's got bad back legs.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Is he on the wheels.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I tried to get him on the wheels. He was
- 37:01Speaker 5: not doing it, and he would never do any sort
- 37:03Speaker 5: of like shoes or socks. I've tried those a long time.
- 37:05Speaker 5: But now his leg got really bad. So I got
- 37:08Speaker 5: grippy socks. And he's very smart and he knows that
- 37:11Speaker 5: now he has to wear the socks so he doesn't
- 37:13Speaker 5: try to take him off. And his legs are doing
- 37:15Speaker 5: better because he's not slipping.
- 37:17Speaker 3: And slide it are they like chihua? Was?
- 37:20Speaker 5: Well, one is Iggy is a Chihuahua, but he's the one.
- 37:23Speaker 5: He's like fifteen pounds, so he's like like a teenage jaw.
- 37:26Speaker 5: He's Chuaue miniature pincher. And the other one is a
- 37:29Speaker 5: Yorkie from a backyard breeder. And apparently the breeder was busted,
- 37:32Speaker 5: like busted by the cops, right, and that's how he
- 37:35Speaker 5: ended up at the pound.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Wow, that's so sweet.
- 37:37Speaker 3: And this is a good example of uh not to
- 37:40Speaker 3: you know, just lecture people, but you can get almost
- 37:42Speaker 3: any type of dog at a rescue.
- 37:44Speaker 5: My friend Jackie Johnson, you've had Jackie was just talking
- 37:47Speaker 5: about this. She got Gary, her new poodle, little brown poodle,
- 37:52Speaker 5: a rescue.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yes, look, it takes a little time and patience. Yes,
- 37:56Speaker 3: and you can get and he cares. Every dog's pretty fantastic.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Can I just say one of my friends dead.
- 38:05Speaker 5: I don't think she's gonna listen to this podcast because
- 38:07Speaker 5: she lives in her own world. So I'm gonna say
- 38:08Speaker 5: something that's not deeply selfish maybe, but well, yeah, So
- 38:12Speaker 5: she's obsessed with Korea right now. I started with Korean
- 38:16Speaker 5: television shows. Then she started taking Korean classes. She's like sixty,
- 38:20Speaker 5: but she's going to all the BTS staff like whatever somehow.
- 38:24Speaker 5: So she decided that she was going to rescue a
- 38:25Speaker 5: dog from Korea.
- 38:27Speaker 2: So she.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Just because it's Korea, just because it's Korea.
- 38:31Speaker 5: She wanted a Korean dog only, so she rescued dog
- 38:34Speaker 5: from Korea. She had that dog for several years. The
- 38:37Speaker 5: dog died, so then she was like, I can only
- 38:41Speaker 5: have another dog from Korea. So she just got another
- 38:45Speaker 5: dog from Korea. She had to pay someone from Korea
- 38:48Speaker 5: to fly the dog here. She had to put up
- 38:51Speaker 5: and at that point it goes. It's not even a
- 38:52Speaker 5: rescue because there are so many emissions like this. You've
- 38:57Speaker 5: actually done worse for the environment.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Of coursed a huge just so that.
- 39:01Speaker 5: You could get some white multipoo with crusty eyes.
- 39:04Speaker 3: You could have rescued like fifty dogs, fifty dogs homes
- 39:07Speaker 3: for and she only gets rescue Korean dogs.
- 39:11Speaker 5: But she also has cats. But she spends ten thousand
- 39:13Speaker 5: dollars each on her cats.
- 39:16Speaker 3: People, and again, everyone do whatever you want to do.
- 39:18Speaker 3: We all have to just enjoy our lives. But when
- 39:20Speaker 3: someone doesn't rescue a cat, when you go out of
- 39:23Speaker 3: your way to buy a cat, I'm sorry.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Ten thousand dollars.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Just get a lovely little cat from a rescue from
- 39:30Speaker 3: your front door. Yes, they're literally everywhere. Cat right there,
- 39:34Speaker 3: they're free.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Take one, They're free.
- 39:36Speaker 3: They're all over the place. Yeah, when somebody is very
- 39:39Speaker 3: specific about getting a certain I guess there are allergy things,
- 39:42Speaker 3: but then you can find the not the hypoallergenic ones at.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Rescues absolutely anywhere.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Yeah. The cat thing to me is like, what are
- 39:50Speaker 3: you doing?
- 39:51Speaker 5: Both of my cats are rescues, and oh my god,
- 39:53Speaker 5: I just got a tattoo of one of my cats
- 39:54Speaker 5: are here, gorgeous.
- 39:56Speaker 4: What's her name?
- 39:57Speaker 2: Spirit?
- 39:58Speaker 3: Oh wait?
- 39:59Speaker 5: You know how I Oh my god. Okay, wait another
- 40:02Speaker 5: one of your guests, Patrick Patrick, who created No but
- 40:07Speaker 5: I know Patrick Walsh.
- 40:08Speaker 3: We love Patrick Waller.
- 40:09Speaker 5: So I guest starred on his show, Living Biblically of
- 40:12Speaker 5: course right the day.
- 40:14Speaker 2: This is a wild story. This is a wild story.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Buckle up, everybody, buckle the fuck up.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Ve Patrick.
- 40:19Speaker 2: But Patrick, he could be Do you think he's listening
- 40:21Speaker 2: to this?
- 40:22Speaker 3: Definitely listened to this one.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, we should tell him. I'm going to
- 40:25Speaker 2: tag it.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Let's talk about how horrible of a.
- 40:27Speaker 5: Person that motherfucker. Okay, so I was not a huge
- 40:31Speaker 5: cat person. Right Separately, I book a guest star on
- 40:34Speaker 5: Living Biblically, or show Patrick Walsh created and show ran
- 40:37Speaker 5: the night before my very first day, I had a
- 40:40Speaker 5: dream that I rescued a cat and it was a
- 40:43Speaker 5: very specific cat with very specific coloring and a collar
- 40:47Speaker 5: that was purple with pink flowers, right right, And you
- 40:50Speaker 5: know how usually you forget your dream and if you
- 40:52Speaker 5: remember it, you forget it by the ten am or
- 40:54Speaker 5: of course, Well, my first day, our rehearsal was I
- 40:58Speaker 5: didn't need my call time wasn't till one p or
- 41:00Speaker 5: something maybe too so even later in the afternoon, I'm going,
- 41:04Speaker 5: I cannot shake this dream about rescuing a cat. And
- 41:07Speaker 5: I thought I was allergic to cats. It was just like,
- 41:09Speaker 5: I can't stop thinking about this dream. I saw a
- 41:11Speaker 5: clear vision of the cat. I go to my rehearsal
- 41:15Speaker 5: for a living biblically. I decide that I want to
- 41:18Speaker 5: watch the rehearsal for the scenes that I'm not in sure.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Some a prop guy is sitting on his lap and
- 41:23Speaker 5: there's a kitten on it, and I go over and
- 41:25Speaker 5: I'm like, oh my god, can I pet this kitten?
- 41:28Speaker 5: And as I'm petting the kitten, I'm like, oh, I
- 41:30Speaker 5: love her, and I'm like, oh, this she kind of
- 41:31Speaker 5: looks familiar.
- 41:34Speaker 2: And then I go, you.
- 41:34Speaker 5: Know, this cat looks just like this cat that I
- 41:37Speaker 5: had in my dream last night, except she had a
- 41:39Speaker 5: purple collar with pink flowers on it, and they lift
- 41:42Speaker 5: up her fur and it was the exact collar for
- 41:44Speaker 5: my watch. Yes, so I'm going I'm like so. The
- 41:48Speaker 5: prop person later told me that they wanted to bring
- 41:50Speaker 5: in the cat the day before, but something told them
- 41:52Speaker 5: not to and she would have gotten scooped up because
- 41:54Speaker 5: she's gorgeous.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Something told her to bring the cat that day.
- 41:57Speaker 5: So I had to act chill because I was just
- 41:59Speaker 5: a guest star and Cameron Manheim like all these people
- 42:01Speaker 5: were like.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Obsessed with this cat. So I was like, I can't
- 42:03Speaker 2: be rude and be the guest that it goes.
- 42:05Speaker 3: I'm sorry to be the person. I had a dream
- 42:07Speaker 3: about this cat and I need to take it home.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Well, word got around, word got around, and so Cameron
- 42:12Speaker 5: Mannheim a couple of people that were like, this is
- 42:15Speaker 5: your cat. Oh, so I want Part of the reason
- 42:18Speaker 5: why her name is Spirit is because I wanted I
- 42:20Speaker 5: almost aimed her CBS since I was but I wanted
- 42:23Speaker 5: a name that sounded like something biblically living, biblically.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Really right, and it had visited you in a dream.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Like a spirit would exactly.
- 42:33Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Yeah, Patrick aware.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Of I don't think Patrick's aware of this. That's all
- 42:37Speaker 2: we have to tag him.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Wow, I think he has a cat. He's a cat person.
- 42:41Speaker 2: He is a cat. That's a good sign.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yes, it's always a good sign. Yeah, and someone's really
- 42:45Speaker 3: against a cat?
- 42:47Speaker 4: What are you?
- 42:48Speaker 3: Huh?
- 42:48Speaker 2: What's wrong?
- 42:49Speaker 4: What's this opinion coming from.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Everyone thinks they're allergic to cats, but they're not really.
- 42:56Speaker 3: You know, I don't want to deny anyone's experience, but
- 42:58Speaker 3: I'm happy to deny my boyfrid friends.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Your boyfriend says that he's allergic to cats.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Yeah, no, you're not.
- 43:05Speaker 2: It's this is a major problem.
- 43:09Speaker 3: It's a thing. Where where is that coming from? Is
- 43:13Speaker 3: do they think? Because I'm sure some people.
- 43:15Speaker 5: Are maybe once they had a thing, or it's coming
- 43:18Speaker 5: I know people that have been, like I have had
- 43:20Speaker 5: to have Inhaler's because of cats. My grandpa was a
- 43:25Speaker 5: pediatric allergy person, and I know I can't be realre
- 43:28Speaker 5: of cats. And then they come over to my house
- 43:30Speaker 5: and they're like totally fine, and the cats are jumping
- 43:32Speaker 5: on them. I'm like, we've all convinced hers. I started
- 43:35Speaker 5: the story by going, I thought I was allergic to cat.
- 43:37Speaker 5: You were all convinced ourselves are allergic.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Former allergic to cat person. No, yeah, A lot of
- 43:42Speaker 3: people think that, And I think that there's probably out
- 43:44Speaker 3: of everyone that claims that, probably ten percent of them
- 43:47Speaker 3: actually are allergic to cats. I agree, And then the
- 43:49Speaker 3: rest of them sneezed once by coincidence around a cat
- 43:52Speaker 3: by coincidence, or had a mosquito bite while petting a cat.
- 43:57Speaker 5: Do you know what I'll give them if you're petting
- 43:58Speaker 5: a cat and then maybe you immediately rub your eye
- 44:01Speaker 5: or something.
- 44:03Speaker 2: But true love is getting the shot so that you're
- 44:06Speaker 2: not right.
- 44:07Speaker 3: There are things you can do.
- 44:08Speaker 5: There are there are things you can do if you're
- 44:11Speaker 5: not willing to get a shot for me to be
- 44:13Speaker 5: here in my cats.
- 44:14Speaker 2: If you are one of the ten percent that's allergic,
- 44:16Speaker 2: get me get the shot. So have you owned a
- 44:19Speaker 2: cat before I have? Yes, tell me about him her.
- 44:22Speaker 3: I had two little boy cats. It's a long story
- 44:26Speaker 3: and a lot of it has to be told off
- 44:29Speaker 3: record because there's a kind of a wild person involved
- 44:32Speaker 3: and it became a wild situation. But they were two
- 44:35Speaker 3: very sweet little cats in Mark and Dan. And then
- 44:37Speaker 3: we had to move across country. Then it became this
- 44:39Speaker 3: whole thing, but we found a new home for you. Yes,
- 44:41Speaker 3: And I wish I could tell the story on the podcast,
- 44:44Speaker 3: but it involves someone posting something online and then someone
- 44:49Speaker 3: else becoming very upset about it and then getting in
- 44:52Speaker 3: a fight with my boyfriend. The whole thing is and
- 44:55Speaker 3: if I told you the names involved this, you'd.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Be like, what is going on?
- 44:59Speaker 2: Famous people?
- 45:01Speaker 5: Yes, but those people are unhinged like some famous they're
- 45:06Speaker 5: not well, right.
- 45:09Speaker 3: I think being famous frequently mutates your brain.
- 45:12Speaker 1: You know.
- 45:12Speaker 5: They say that the age that you become really famous
- 45:14Speaker 5: at is the age you stop maturing.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's very apparent. If you watch
- 45:19Speaker 3: certain people on TV and then look at their career history,
- 45:23Speaker 3: you're like, oh, that's why they're still behaving like that
- 45:25Speaker 3: at fifty years old. Actually it's like, oh, you were
- 45:27Speaker 3: twenty one, okay, yeah.
- 45:29Speaker 2: And I intend to be very famous.
- 45:31Speaker 5: So the benefit of the fact that it hasn't happened
- 45:34Speaker 5: yet is well, great, I get to have it all.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I get to be mature, right, allowed to be famous
- 45:38Speaker 3: until you're forty five.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Well, I'm ready to be famous now. So I'm going
- 45:42Speaker 2: to change the age on that a little bit.
- 45:44Speaker 5: I'm ready to be famous by the time this podcast
- 45:46Speaker 5: comes out.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I want to be number one on IMDb.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Okay, how about let's say thirty Okay, for thirty feels
- 45:52Speaker 3: I would give it.
- 45:53Speaker 5: Well, at thirty, your prefrontal cortex has had five years.
- 45:56Speaker 2: For ant I would say maybe thirty four.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Thirty four feels like the right age for someone to
- 46:02Speaker 3: get attention, any attention at all.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Any attention before that, you're fucked.
- 46:06Speaker 3: You should be in a little held in a little
- 46:08Speaker 3: cell until you're thirty four and then released and people
- 46:11Speaker 3: can pay attention to you absolutely, otherwise you become a
- 46:14Speaker 3: monster person.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I went out the other day.
- 46:17Speaker 5: I was walking through the Sunset Bar, like the clubs
- 46:20Speaker 5: in like, uh, but whatever a club's bars, wine bars
- 46:23Speaker 5: whatever on Sunset and like.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Silver La Coca Park area. Do you these gen Z
- 46:27Speaker 2: motherfuckers are smoking this again?
- 46:31Speaker 3: I'm like, what's what is going on? The way that
- 46:34Speaker 3: don't smoke was hammered into my brain through elementary school. Yeah,
- 46:38Speaker 3: and then and just with the.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Facts everyone is smoking.
- 46:43Speaker 3: I saw something somebody had posted about this on Instagram
- 46:45Speaker 3: the other day and some gen Z people got in
- 46:47Speaker 3: and basically we're just saying, well, everything is ruined, why
- 46:49Speaker 3: not kill ourselves.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I kind of get that, and I.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Was like, oh, that is a hard one to argue against.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I'm okay, you got me.
- 46:55Speaker 5: I was talking to my pilates instructor the other day
- 46:58Speaker 5: who said that once he realized his dog was going
- 47:00Speaker 5: to die, he started giving the dog all the food
- 47:02Speaker 5: that it wanted because he was like, it's gonna So
- 47:04Speaker 5: I see gen Z sort of taking that out of dude.
- 47:06Speaker 5: They're like things are so bad also, but I just
- 47:08Speaker 5: don't feel good.
- 47:08Speaker 3: When I smoke well, and also like they're definitely we're
- 47:12Speaker 3: all going to be around until a natural lifespan is over.
- 47:15Speaker 3: The earth isn't going to end the next well knock
- 47:17Speaker 3: on wood, Yeah, next twenty to seventy years, so you're
- 47:21Speaker 3: still going to end up with lung cancer.
- 47:23Speaker 5: But I think humans could be done by then. I
- 47:26Speaker 5: think the earth, the oceans that will be there. I
- 47:28Speaker 5: don't think we're long.
- 47:29Speaker 2: I don't.
- 47:30Speaker 3: I don't want to hear a hard prediction on when
- 47:32Speaker 3: humans are done. Let's all put it in our calendars.
- 47:36Speaker 2: I would say humans are done in ten to fifteen hours.
- 47:39Speaker 2: That's why I don't understand people are having babies.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Now. I've got to stop saving my money, gotta go
- 47:44Speaker 3: on some vacation.
- 47:45Speaker 5: One of the guys who was an integral part of
- 47:47Speaker 5: making AI said that he stopped saving for retirement because
- 47:50Speaker 5: we're all going to be so fucked before then.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I know. Oh no, wait, I have a question.
- 47:57Speaker 5: Speaking of cigarettes, I would listen to your Rob Hoffman
- 48:01Speaker 5: because I because I love her fantastic.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Is this a cigarette she brought you?
- 48:05Speaker 3: This is not that one is at home. Robbie autographed
- 48:08Speaker 3: that cigarette.
- 48:09Speaker 2: Oh that's so cool.
- 48:10Speaker 5: I saw her a couple of weeks ago at two
- 48:12Speaker 5: hundred South Librea, which is a very pop It's like
- 48:16Speaker 5: one of the main commercial casting offices.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, of course I know this one. It's right
- 48:20Speaker 3: by the Ralphs where a rat ran across my foot.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Oh, a rat ran across your foot?
- 48:26Speaker 3: Very traumatic time in my life.
- 48:28Speaker 5: That I love all rodents and critters, but a rat
- 48:30Speaker 5: would scare me because if they bit me, you're basically dead.
- 48:33Speaker 3: You might as well just throw yourself in front of
- 48:34Speaker 3: a car.
- 48:36Speaker 2: I would freak.
- 48:37Speaker 5: And I pet squirrels, but I would be freaked out
- 48:40Speaker 5: if a rat bit.
- 48:41Speaker 3: Right across my foot.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Oh my god, were you wearing sandals?
- 48:46Speaker 4: Thank god?
- 48:46Speaker 3: No, can you imagine I was barefoot?
- 48:48Speaker 2: You were a kid.
- 48:54Speaker 3: But you saw Robbie at two hundred South Libre.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was very curious to me.
- 48:58Speaker 5: I wonder if maybe Robbi's listening to the because I'm
- 49:01Speaker 5: a major fan of hers. I think she's so cool.
- 49:03Speaker 5: I loved her episode of the podcast She's absolutely unbelievable.
- 49:07Speaker 5: And when I saw it two hundred South, when she
- 49:09Speaker 5: walked by, I was like, hey, like your work, but
- 49:11Speaker 5: I said it kind of blow and she walked by
- 49:12Speaker 5: fast as she didn't hear.
- 49:13Speaker 2: But I'm wondering.
- 49:14Speaker 5: I was like, this was after she was nominated for
- 49:17Speaker 5: an Emmy, and I'm like, was she auditioning for commercial?
- 49:19Speaker 5: Because every once in a while you see people auditioning
- 49:21Speaker 5: for commercials that you're like, you're too famous to be
- 49:23Speaker 5: in a commercial, but like, I'm all doing it.
- 49:25Speaker 2: So I'm like, was Robbie Hoffman there auditioning for commercial?
- 49:27Speaker 3: I really want to know she may have been.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Robbie. If you're listening to this.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Did your book? Please?
- 49:33Speaker 2: Did you book it? Did you?
- 49:36Speaker 3: I adore Robbie I And it's funny. Robbie was on
- 49:39Speaker 3: the podcast like right before she really hit yeah, and
- 49:42Speaker 3: I think a lot of listeners were like a few
- 49:45Speaker 3: steps behind what Robbie does right right, It's like, just
- 49:50Speaker 3: be patient. Robbie's the best Robi. You'll understand exactly what's
- 49:53Speaker 3: going on.
- 49:54Speaker 2: I loved all her takes on cars.
- 49:56Speaker 5: I loved all of it. But she's giving gen Z.
- 49:58Speaker 5: Motherfucker smoking but she says she smoke all the time.
- 50:00Speaker 5: She said that on the podcast.
- 50:02Speaker 3: What does that mean.
- 50:04Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 50:04Speaker 3: I feel like smoking at all is probably dangerous.
- 50:07Speaker 5: I smoked a little bit in my twenties, but that
- 50:10Speaker 5: was like, I don't know. I thought I was being
- 50:12Speaker 5: like emo and cool or something like. I don't know
- 50:14Speaker 5: what the fuck I was doing.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I've never smoked.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Don't start. It's gross.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Its yeah, there's no appeal for me.
- 50:20Speaker 5: I know someone who relapsed on hard drugs and it
- 50:22Speaker 5: started with one cigaret.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Oh no, the worst possible I know.
- 50:26Speaker 5: He said that it made him feel dizzy and like
- 50:29Speaker 5: it gave him that high feeling that he had missed
- 50:32Speaker 5: after years.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Of being sober. So he relapsed on hard drugs after
- 50:34Speaker 2: one cigarette.
- 50:35Speaker 3: And so many sober people smoke.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Interesting, Yeah, very interesting. I gotta be careful with the cigarettes.
- 50:41Speaker 2: You gotta be careful with a cigarettes.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Well, is there anything else we should say about this
- 50:44Speaker 3: wonderful gift? Oh my, I mean it feels phenomenal. I
- 50:47Speaker 3: just want to know that you're going to use it
- 50:48Speaker 3: absolutely while watching TV. This is the perfect thing to do.
- 50:52Speaker 2: You know what I was going to say, maybe because
- 50:53Speaker 2: I have another one at home.
- 50:54Speaker 5: I was going to say, maybe I could give you
- 50:57Speaker 5: mine so you use boyfriend, But then I was like
- 50:58Speaker 5: that might be weird because now it's like my scout.
- 51:01Speaker 3: No, he and I will share that. You guys will
- 51:03Speaker 3: the fights over this one.
- 51:05Speaker 5: When I was thinking about things to get you, I
- 51:07Speaker 5: almost was like going to get you a la boo boo,
- 51:09Speaker 5: but then I was like, I don't know, that's kind
- 51:11Speaker 5: of like already phased out a little bit.
- 51:12Speaker 2: And by the time this airs, does anyone caring?
- 51:14Speaker 5: Right then, I was going to get you a laff fufu,
- 51:16Speaker 5: but they're thirty dollars.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Look right behind you.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Oh there's a lafufu.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Thank god, I didn't get you a laf fufu. Oh
- 51:23Speaker 2: my god.
- 51:24Speaker 3: And I've gotten la boo boos.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Oh, thank god I didn't get you that. Oh my god,
- 51:28Speaker 2: thank god.
- 51:28Speaker 3: I've got them all.
- 51:29Speaker 2: Something popped in my head.
- 51:30Speaker 5: I closed my eyes and I was like, let me meditate
- 51:32Speaker 5: for this on a second, and I said, head scratcher,
- 51:36Speaker 5: And I knew in that moment that it was the
- 51:37Speaker 5: right choice.
- 51:38Speaker 3: This is a you know, with this podcast, so many
- 51:41Speaker 3: of the gifts are absolutely things I should burn, totally
- 51:44Speaker 3: useless in my life. This is actually something that's going
- 51:47Speaker 3: to improve the situation and thrilled about it. That makes you, well,
- 51:50Speaker 3: I think we should play a game.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Oh, let's play a game.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Okay, We're going to play a game called Gift or
- 51:53Speaker 3: a Curse. But I need a number between one and
- 51:55Speaker 3: ten from you.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Seven.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Okay, I have to do some light calculating to get
- 51:59Speaker 3: our game piece is so right? Now you can promote, recommend,
- 52:02Speaker 3: do whatever you want.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 52:03Speaker 5: Well, I just had a short film that I wrote,
- 52:05Speaker 5: directed in star In be chosen as a Vimeo staff pick,
- 52:10Speaker 5: so it premiered on Vimeo on Friday, September fifth.
- 52:13Speaker 2: So you guys, go to Vimeo staff picks watch my film.
- 52:16Speaker 5: It's called The errand you'll get to see why I'm
- 52:18Speaker 5: ready to be number one on IMDb by next Monday.
- 52:24Speaker 5: And yeah, I shot six national commercials this year and
- 52:30Speaker 5: no one ever promotes commercials like who cares? But I'm like,
- 52:34Speaker 5: I'm literally on a roll. I booked six national commercials.
- 52:37Speaker 3: You are keeping one agency afloat.
- 52:39Speaker 2: I'm keeping one agency a float.
- 52:41Speaker 5: So I'm just saying, keep your eyes fieled for me, honey,
- 52:43Speaker 5: because you never know where I'm going to pop up.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I was there a favorite commercial you were in?
- 52:48Speaker 2: Well, okay, later next week.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Oh, I'm about to shoot a commercial for Geico with
- 52:56Speaker 5: the gecko.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Do you know who has a n Well, I don't
- 53:00Speaker 3: want to embarrass her too much, but had an enormous
- 53:02Speaker 3: crush on the gecko as my niece. Oh, she fell
- 53:05Speaker 3: in love with the gecko.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Cute. The gecko is a hottie.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Yeah, what's his name?
- 53:09Speaker 2: He definitely pee is outside?
- 53:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely. He does not have a toilet.
- 53:13Speaker 5: She does not have a to Wait, the Geico gecko
- 53:16Speaker 5: has an actual name.
- 53:17Speaker 3: Yeah, let me see Geico. I let's see Martin Martin. Yeah,
- 53:21Speaker 3: oh that's hot. My niece was obsessed with this guy.
- 53:24Speaker 3: She would have married him had she'd been given the chance. Yeah,
- 53:26Speaker 3: this was an age twenty.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Okay, Well that's surprising.
- 53:31Speaker 3: I think she was like probably four or five when
- 53:33Speaker 3: she fell in love with Martin the gecko.
- 53:35Speaker 5: Well, I hope she doesn't come for me that I'll
- 53:37Speaker 5: want to be working with him.
- 53:39Speaker 3: You'll have to be in touch. If you get any
- 53:40Speaker 3: gecko merch, you might have to send some of my
- 53:43Speaker 3: way send to my niece.
- 53:44Speaker 4: Although I think she may have outgrown.
- 53:46Speaker 5: I've worked with some huge people, Will Smith, Chris Rock,
- 53:49Speaker 5: Dennis Hopper, huge people.
- 53:50Speaker 2: They have nerding on that getto thing compared to thee.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, okay, well everyone look out for the Geico commercial.
- 53:59Speaker 3: But more importantly watch the short on video. Yeah, that's
- 54:01Speaker 3: all the short of the day.
- 54:03Speaker 2: It is no Vimeo staff picks.
- 54:06Speaker 3: It's like the most right, that's top level.
- 54:08Speaker 2: It played at Palm Springs. It's great.
- 54:10Speaker 5: I just finished my Yeah, I'm also in my directing era.
- 54:13Speaker 5: I'm in a lot of eras right now.
- 54:15Speaker 3: That's a and making a short is not an easy
- 54:17Speaker 3: thing to do.
- 54:17Speaker 2: It's not an easy thing.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Did every element.
- 54:19Speaker 5: I did every element of including paying for the whole
- 54:23Speaker 5: thing myself, because I'm not one of these crowdfunding motherfuckers.
- 54:26Speaker 3: It's hard to it's hard to ask money to crowdfund
- 54:28Speaker 3: a short because they are on money.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Does it? Everyone does it.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Well, friend, and I consider doing that even shot a
- 54:34Speaker 3: thing as like, I simply can't ask people to pay
- 54:37Speaker 3: for my short. Maybe a movie.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Maybe a movie, But I know rich people that are crowdfunding.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Kickstarter has got to look at bank statements. I'm sorry,
- 54:49Speaker 3: but if you have a certain amount of money in
- 54:51Speaker 3: the bank. You should not be allowed.
- 54:52Speaker 2: You should not be allowed.
- 54:53Speaker 5: I'm actually glad that you didn't kickstart that thing because
- 54:55Speaker 5: Jackie Johnson, we shit talk people who start kicks our
- 55:00Speaker 5: for things that we don't think are good. So I'm
- 55:02Speaker 5: really glad you didn't do that because.
- 55:03Speaker 3: West very good. But it was too ambitious, so.
- 55:06Speaker 5: We would go Bridges got a successful podcast, He's got
- 55:08Speaker 5: all these gifts. He could sell those gifts. Why is
- 55:11Speaker 5: he Why is it now my problem to pay for
- 55:14Speaker 5: his editor?
- 55:16Speaker 3: It was we went too far with the script quite frankly.
- 55:20Speaker 2: So it was an expensive one.
- 55:21Speaker 4: It was too expensive.
- 55:22Speaker 2: How many locations.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Four or five driving I had.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Driving in mine? I had a lot of driving in mine.
- 55:31Speaker 2: It ain't cheap. We had to take the hood off
- 55:33Speaker 2: my car a lot.
- 55:34Speaker 4: It's a lot.
- 55:36Speaker 3: This was about the owners of Supercuts franchise going to
- 55:40Speaker 3: the International Haircutters Ball and Expo.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Okay, so I very I would definitely this.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Is why I needed to be made. But the money
- 55:48Speaker 3: just simply isn't there.
- 55:49Speaker 2: We got to find you that money.
- 55:51Speaker 3: Okay. This is how we play gift. I'm going to
- 55:54Speaker 3: name three things you'll tell me if they're a gift
- 55:56Speaker 3: or a curse and why, and then I'll tell if
- 55:58Speaker 3: you're right or wrong, because there are correct answers and
- 56:00Speaker 3: you can lose. Let be careful, all right. This first
- 56:04Speaker 3: one is from a listener named keV. Gift to a
- 56:06Speaker 3: curse right turn green arrow. No, I don't want that.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Why because I want left turn green arrow?
- 56:15Speaker 5: For first of all, I'm going to turn right when
- 56:18Speaker 5: it says no turn on red anyway, no right on red.
- 56:21Speaker 2: So don't give me a fucking green arrow. That's weird.
- 56:24Speaker 2: I don't know. I just don't like it. It's like
- 56:25Speaker 2: a natraw.
- 56:26Speaker 3: So you're saying curse, I'm saying, does that exist? Does exist?
- 56:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry?
- 56:30Speaker 3: What hold on?
- 56:31Speaker 5: You're trying to tell me that out here in these
- 56:33Speaker 5: new streets of Los Angeles there's a green arrow that
- 56:36Speaker 5: tells you if you can turn right.
- 56:37Speaker 3: And you have experienced one, you're just not aware of it.
- 56:40Speaker 2: I don't like it.
- 56:41Speaker 5: I want either no turn on red that I don't
- 56:44Speaker 5: listen to, or I want just a regular green and I.
- 56:46Speaker 3: Go with the flow. It's a curse, a curse, yeah, correct, Okay,
- 56:51Speaker 3: this is a curse, unfortunately, And you're kind of really
- 56:54Speaker 3: illustrating why it's such a curse. I think the technology
- 56:57Speaker 3: is too advance for human beings. Anyone that sees one
- 57:00Speaker 3: of those is just like, I don't know, I don't
- 57:02Speaker 3: know what to do with myself. Yeah, because you're already
- 57:05Speaker 3: used to being able to kind of turn on a
- 57:06Speaker 3: red light, suddenly you're being given to it feels like
- 57:09Speaker 3: too much power where you're like, I already kind of
- 57:11Speaker 3: understand the rules of this. Why am I allowed to
- 57:13Speaker 3: I should be able to go at a green or
- 57:15Speaker 3: stop at a red and go. And this feels like
- 57:17Speaker 3: this weird other realm of turning that makes no sense.
- 57:20Speaker 3: It's such the opposite of the left green arrow, which
- 57:23Speaker 3: empowers you and gives you you're the king of the road.
- 57:26Speaker 2: For it feels so safe on a left green arrow.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Oh you feel fantastic. Yeah, and you're really given a power,
- 57:31Speaker 3: especially if you're at the front of the line. You're like,
- 57:33Speaker 3: I'm going to charge us all through the intersections. This
- 57:35Speaker 3: is a nice yes.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 57:37Speaker 5: Wait, so if there is a left right does that
- 57:40Speaker 5: mean oh no, sorry, if there is a right green,
- 57:43Speaker 5: does that mean you can only turn when the green
- 57:47Speaker 5: arrow like what it can?
- 57:48Speaker 1: Does it?
- 57:48Speaker 2: Right? The arrow also just do a regular green. Yes.
- 57:54Speaker 3: No, that's where it gets confusing because some of them
- 57:56Speaker 3: can be a no turn at the red, but some
- 57:59Speaker 3: of them can turn at the red. It's there's too
- 58:02Speaker 3: many There are just too many possibilities.
- 58:04Speaker 5: No, And as we established, I'm share in my clueless
- 58:07Speaker 5: right wangler era, I can you know we're lucky?
- 58:10Speaker 3: I parallel, You're done danger to everyone already, so they're
- 58:13Speaker 3: a curse? You got that?
- 58:14Speaker 2: Cul Yes? Okay, good, all right?
- 58:15Speaker 3: Number two this is from an unknown listener, unmarked grave.
- 58:18Speaker 3: I'm apologizing to them gift or a curse. Sharing food
- 58:22Speaker 3: family style while out to eat.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Oh I love it?
- 58:25Speaker 5: Why because I'm always that person that's like, no, I
- 58:30Speaker 5: don't want French fries.
- 58:31Speaker 2: But I know.
- 58:32Speaker 5: But when I say I don't want French fries, I
- 58:34Speaker 5: know that I want at least.
- 58:35Speaker 2: Four of your fresh fries.
- 58:37Speaker 5: And as long as people wash their hands, like I
- 58:41Speaker 5: hate being out to dinner, and I know that someone
- 58:43Speaker 5: didn't wash their hands beforehand. So if we're like family
- 58:45Speaker 5: and style, I need to know that everyone's hands are clean.
- 58:47Speaker 5: But if I can trust it everyone's hands are clean,
- 58:49Speaker 5: then I want a little bit of what everyone's having
- 58:51Speaker 5: because I already want a little bit of what everyone's having,
- 58:54Speaker 5: even if it's not family estyle.
- 58:55Speaker 3: I've got a lot of questions. Okay, how do you
- 58:58Speaker 3: know who's wash your hands and who has because I
- 59:00Speaker 3: keep the black light.
- 59:06Speaker 5: Yeah, well, you know, I just came from a relationship
- 59:08Speaker 5: with kids.
- 59:09Speaker 2: So I was very very right, very onto who's washing
- 59:13Speaker 2: their hands and who's not.
- 59:14Speaker 5: So now I've got a little PTSD about you know,
- 59:16Speaker 5: clean hands. But I just remember going my friend and
- 59:19Speaker 5: I walked our dogs to a restaurant, and so my
- 59:22Speaker 5: first thing when I got there was like, oh, well,
- 59:24Speaker 5: will you hold my dog because I'm gonna go wash
- 59:26Speaker 5: my hands down because we're eating sushi.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Then I came back and she just and then she's.
- 59:30Speaker 5: Just sitting there and I couldn't eat because I'm speaking
- 59:33Speaker 5: to myself.
- 59:34Speaker 2: We both just walked our dogs here.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Bitch, like, I know what's on your hands.
- 59:38Speaker 2: I know what's on your hands.
- 59:39Speaker 5: So I very passively, aggressively just kept being like, all
- 59:43Speaker 5: hold tricksy while.
- 59:45Speaker 2: You gotta wash your hand until she got the hand.
- 59:49Speaker 3: I think in that situation you should just say go.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Wash your hands, go wash your yeah, to deal with it.
- 59:54Speaker 3: So you're saying gift, what was the question again, sharing food,
- 59:59Speaker 3: family stuff, gift, Yeah, wrong, curse. Oh what a stressful situation. This,
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: This creates non stop stress for everyone at the table.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Why because no one ever gets everything they want? Okay, nobody.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: You know. The only time this ever really works.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: Is with Chinese food.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: Otherwise you know, you're like, you're trying to be polite,
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: so you're not taking as much as you want.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Oh I'm not polite.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Well, and so you're part of the problem because someone
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: of the Elser tables saying, oh, look, Hayley's taking more
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: than I took.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: I reach across the table.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: See it's it's too chaotic. Yeah, everyone needs their own
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: plate that they can look at and say, this is
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: my plate, and I can share a little bit of it. Yeah,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: but if a bunch of items are ordered, then we're
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: passing it around and no, no, thank you. That's wrong.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, you hate eating with me?
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Keep family style at home.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: When I eat, I make a lot of crumbs. I smell.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Oh, I'm an absolute disaster.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: You are. Oh, so you can't wear your vindored Suberu
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: shirt while you're eating that I've gotten I'm a risk take.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like I care about everything and nothing at all.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, but yeah it's a curse. I absolutely I
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: just I don't feel comfortable with it. I walk away
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: not having as much of the item I wanted, and
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: I'm now mad at people at the time.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: No, you're too nice. Get what you want, go get.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Your I deserve it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys could order a second plate of it.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I'm worth a second plate.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: Yes, I'm really an asshole because if I'm obsessed with guacamole,
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: and so if we go anywhere there's a workamoia, I
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: know I take more than my fair share, but I
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: can't help it.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I guess people have just got to take
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: as much as they want and if they need more,
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: they order more. But I don't want to have to
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: order more. Wow, I want to order one plate.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: That might be on you, nothing is ever on me.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Moving on, all right. This is from a listener named Courtney. Okay,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: gift you a curse when you're struggling to decide between entrees.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Another food related one. Gift a curse when you're struggling
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: to decide between entrees and the waiter says they're out
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: of one, so the decision is made for you.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: I don't think I like that, why because.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Because I didn't get to make the decision, because they're
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: out of what. I'm also coming at this from kind
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: of a skewed angle because I'm vegan. Oh so I
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: can't even already have the entire many, which might also
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: be why I feel entitled to the stuff that is vegan.
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: I think I have a little bit of like maybe
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: what's available that's vegan entitlement.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: I think that that I'm on I support you in that. Actually,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: anyone who has this particular need that should get more
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: of that item.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Should get more of that item.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Absolutely, that only makes sense because everyone else will be
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: doing more of everything and tangent.
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: I don't like when people make fun of make vegan jokes,
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: or make fun of vegans, or make fun of the
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: valley or people who live in the valley, because I
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: like those.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Are very dated, hacky, bullshit hack give me a break.
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: You know, I've like matched with people on dating apps,
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: you know, years ago or whatever. Who they really think
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: that a great opening joke is like, oh, when I
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: used to live in the studio city, like make a
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: valley joke, and.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm unmapped, really immediately. Studio City is fucking amazing.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: It's fantastic. They've got a Marshal's, They've got Michaels. Those
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: are in the same building you want.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Yes, Oh my god, another depart method.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: I grew up going going to that exact building that
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: you're talking about, and I one time tried to dine
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: and dash, and that's where I tried to There was
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: a sushi red and all you can eat sushi.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, why the consequence?
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: We just went to admit that, Wow, that's a historic building.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: For you, then that's a historic building.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: And it's the only time I've ever tried to dine
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: and die terrifying, and I just did it for the story.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I would absolutely trip on my way out. I'm not
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: a dining dasher. I can't risk it.
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: Oh no, I I if I like a f I
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: order Postmates and they give they give me the wrong order.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: Sometimes I'll get I'll feel so emotional because I was
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: still looking forward to it that I'll like want to cry.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: I'll like cry. So if I really want something.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: On a menu and they're out of it, I'm like,
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: why did I even come here?
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Well, Hailey, the answer, unfortunately, is gift It's an absolute.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Gift because it takes a decision away from me.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: It really for you know, for me and I and
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: for everyone. I'll speak for everyone. It's such a refreshing
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: feeling to just say, well, now it's out of my hands. Wow,
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: the universe has decided this was the item today. Yeah,
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: I get to have the item now. If if the
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: one eye, if there's only one item on the menu
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: and it's out, Yeah, now we're getting to tear terry.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Well, I go to a restaurant kind of knowing what
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I want already.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Do you do that? Of course? Am I not on
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: the website for an hour.
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: Before You're going to that restaurant for that item? You're
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: exciting and then that's robbed of you.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Rarely do I show up. It has to be a
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: place I regularly go to if I'm going to not
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: have something in mind.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: It has to yeah, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: If it's like the first time I'm going somewhere, there's
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: an item I want on the menu.
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: Right, yeah, because you're looking at it before. Yeah, what
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: about your favorite item? At Clark Cheek Diner.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: I have several cop salad, chicken enchiladas, club chicken fingers,
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think those are the four go tos
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: for me.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: I love a club sandwich. They make really good vegan ones,
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: so I'm still in my clubs.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Club sandwich is a winner almost every time. If you
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: make a bad club sandwich, full shut down to the restaurant.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Oh honey, it's a very It has a lot of
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: great ingredients. It should be easy to meet.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: It should be so easy to make.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Well. I can't remember how many points you got here.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: I won. I've done better than any other guest ever.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: You've kind of you get a trophy, you get a
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: cash prize. Okay, I think we should move on to
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: the final segment of the podcast. We're going to answer
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: a listener question. People are writing into I said no
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: gifts at gmail dot com, or they're sending a voice
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: note which has to be sixty secon and slung. It
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: has to be in a quiet area. Yes, those are
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: the two qualifications listener.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: Just so you know we.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Can, I ask you a question. I'm so sorry, I'm
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: so full. I need to know. How do you feel
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: about voice memo? When a friend sends you instead of
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: a text, they send you a voice.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Fully depends on the friend and how long it is
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: again the friend. Do you know who's a very good If
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: I ever get a voice note from Patrick Walsh, ooh,
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: it's like winning the lottery. They're every time, they're unbelievably entertaining.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: They're to the point, but sometimes they're long, but they're
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: worth it and okay, okay he sends me. Every time
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: I get one from him, I'm laughing out loud. And
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: it's not just like joking around. It's usually a good
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: story or a piece of relevant information. How do you
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: feel about them?
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: Well, I'm pro, very pro very pro I'm always sending
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: a voice memo and I've gotten pretty egregious with it
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: because when first voice Mama s first became a thing,
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: it was like, maybe keep it to thirty seconds.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: To a minute or to a minute.
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: Well, one of my friends, my friend Mecca, she started
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: sending me ten minute long voice It was insane. So
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: then that ruined my barometer for it. Where now I'm
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: sending very long voice memos. Sometimes some I could even
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: someone else is even talking to me, I'm still recording
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: and then I'm like a second all that I'm ordering
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: up the drive figure one sec. They have to have
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: my order, and then I come back. But you know,
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: I have a very dynamic life. There's a lot happening on.
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: It can't all be conveyed through tex. So I'm sending
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: voice memos. They've gotten too long. I send them to
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: Jackie Johnson all the time.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I go back. I bet those are good exchanges.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: Though.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Yes, sometimes I think she just probably reads.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: The Sometimes with some friends I do that. I'm like,
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: this isn't gonna be fun to listen. It's gonna be
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: a waste of my time. What are you trying to
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: tell me?
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: Yeah, the transcript is is a gift and a curse.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: Actually it really is, because it's not always going to
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: be accurate. I'm just going to hear my tone.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: You have to decipher what's going on.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: Yeah, but you know who loves voice memos? Black people?
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: Oh interesting, Yeah, I realized it's really a black thing.
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: We have embraced it.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Why do you think that is?
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe we love to talk.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: I don't know.

- 1:08:03Speaker 5: black people we just collectively and subconsciously decaid this is
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: for us, and I feel like voice memos is one
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: of those things.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Right, and me, I am so unbelievably scared of sending one. Oh,

- 1:09:16Speaker 3: fan of your show. I am from the East Coast,
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: but I was in La. I remember this email. But
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: I was in La recently moving my child into college
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: for the first time. I can't believe this happened, but
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: as I was driving through the city, I happened to
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: see you and a friend walking on the sidewalk. I
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: briefly considered rolling down my window and calling out, Hello Bridger.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: I love your show. You are the best, but I
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: did not. I guess my question is should I have
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: done that? Would this have been a curse for you?
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: Or a gift? Thanks in advance. And that's from Janine.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Really good question, very scary question, Janine.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Janine, what do you wish happened?
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: Oh God, that's.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: A great question.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Ah.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Oh, Janine, I wish you had pulled over for given
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: me some money.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Why is Janine like in La?
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: First of all, where's this? This soon must be going
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: to USC This place is a future filmmaker. We've got
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: a future filmmaker.

- 1:10:08Speaker 5: kid out.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Oh wait, no, I forgot. I'm very prole. We're gonna
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: start shooting stuff here again?
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: You already I I guess as an LA native you
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: get to do whatever you want. But as a transplant
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: I get to say this is I've seen worse.
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, see, I haven't seen worse. I grew up
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: in German art.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Janine, that's a great question. Should Jeanine have bothered me?
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Yeah? I think you're right, Janine.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: I would have loved to hear from you, Jeanine. I'm hurt. Oh, Janine,
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: should have uh, you know, yell some sort of hurtful
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: thing out the windows you drive by, blast your horn,

- 1:10:55Speaker 2: Really, really famous.
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: I love compliments. I what do I love more than
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: a compliment? I love to be recognized. Even before my
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: screening the other day, the waiter at the very end
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: came up and gave me and my friend that I
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: was with. You just happened to be my DP free
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: shots and was like, I just want to let you
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: know I saw your short in the festival.

- 1:11:20Speaker 5: Like care, I'm talking about it on a podcastater. I
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: love compliments, especially when they're genuine, and a lot of
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: times they are.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Even when they're not.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Who cares. Yeah, I love to talk with them.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: What you love attention and I love feeling famous.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: So, Janine, if you see either of us on the road,
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: you're blasting the horn. You're yelling you look gorgeous today.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: I love your pants. Yes, I love the show. I
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: love your work. That's what I want to.
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: I just had that happen in an audition the other day,
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: me and this girl both auditioning for a show.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: She came out and I.
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: Could hear the cassemecter giving her a compliment and I'm
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: girl power, I'm active.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Power them all of it.
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: And I was like, girls, sounds like you crushed it.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: Congrats and she was like, thank you.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: That was one.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: Then she was like, by the way, I know your work.
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: I'm such a fan, blah blah blah that you know.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: And I was like, oh my gosh, that's so nice.
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: Then I went into the audition and I told the
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: casting director. I was like, I've met so many cool
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: people in your office here, like there's always great people
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: auditioning for your shows.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: And then she told me who that girl was, and
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: that girls like a big actor who.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Is success was a mind game? Was that her mind game? No?
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: It felt genuine.

- 1:12:27Speaker 5: Oh honey, Yeah, you don't grow up in Los Angeles
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: and that's reflected by mind games.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: No, I'm bigger and better than a mind game. Honey.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: I don't play them, and I won't let you play
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: them on me.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I don't know why you would have to develop that

- 1:13:18Speaker 3: even going to be there for college GRADUATIONE fucked up,
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: yeah big time because she had an opportunity to, you know,
