- 0:00We've been travelling through, going through his book that
- 0:06Hayaganski wrote and really what it is is he brings different
- 0:09topics, different topics in life.
- 0:13They're based on letters. The Zion, we did a few, we
- 0:19skipped a few. So here is the letter heads.
- 0:23What's the letter head he wants to analyze?
- 0:25He talks about education and we'll see this not only for
- 0:31children is really for the adults as well.
- 0:33This process of education and his approach.
- 0:37I want to bring out two points before we even start.
- 0:40And that is and they'll talk about how you use the term
- 0:44hitting a child who use it constantly in this in this thing
- 0:48or bring sources to the concept and all that.
- 0:50And we know today we don't really have children.
- 0:52We understand that concept, right.
- 0:54Definitely don't talk about hitting children.
- 0:57It's not a thing to discuss, but while I'm trying to understand
- 1:00really the modern day version of that and more importantly,
- 1:05what's the ultimate theme behind discipline and why discipline is
- 1:09so valuable, That's really where I want to get to.
- 1:11This is like this. He Nayesh Anasheen.
- 1:15There are people this monitor and our times who believe it's
- 1:19the wrong thing to hit a child instead, which we also we don't
- 1:24take children. But he says instead they believe
- 1:27let the children come to these different areas of life on their
- 1:32own. Rak Tariq Shiavil maths mom
- 1:35called Davari allow the children to attain the levels and to grow
- 1:39and to develop on their own. Why force them?
- 1:44Why pressure them? Why his words hit them?
- 1:47The Lola Hakrikam, we should not put any pressure because
- 1:52shakeela Aquitam. Instead give the children what
- 1:55they need and let them do their thing.
- 1:57Don't really display discipline. There's what people say, he
- 2:00says, was this written? This is rained by.
- 2:04Good question. I'm sure it'll last 25 years, so
- 2:07long ago. Venzo derech anecona piatura.
- 2:11He says that is not the Torah approach.
- 2:12We all know that. To say no discipline, to say no
- 2:17enforcement. He said let them come to it on
- 2:19its own, which nowadays even great people use such language.
- 2:24Let people attain on its own. They translate that according to
- 2:28the concept of Hanochlin, not ap.co.
- 2:30Let the person find his own path.
- 2:32It is not the reality. It is not the reality to ignore
- 2:36discipline, he says. And that's not the total reality
- 2:39at all. We'll explain why for a few
- 2:41reasons in a minute. Of course you don't overdo it,
- 2:44he says. Of course, you choose and pick
- 2:47and choose your times, right? Because he says if you don't
- 2:51pick and choose, to me, if you over discipline, you will lose
- 2:55the impact, the discipline. We know that you overdo it, you
- 2:59over pressure. And I have many, many friends
- 3:02sadly, who over pressure their children.
- 3:05And they when they grew old enough, the first thing they did
- 3:08was to make sure to not do anything.
- 3:10They followed this, they rebelled in a certain way and
- 3:14they go completely the way. Why this guy in this business
- 3:17and this guy in the other business?
- 3:18Because they did not want nothing to do with their
- 3:21father's line of work. They just couldn't stomach it
- 3:23and couldn't hack it. And they don't want to be like
- 3:25their father at all. And that's a shame.
- 3:27And where does it come from? Over this over pressure and
- 3:30overheading and over discipline. It's absolutely the wrong
- 3:34approach. Overdoing it, you lose the
- 3:36effect. But why is the entire concept of
- 3:38discipline so necessary, He says, for someone to say no
- 3:44discipline at all. He said he quotes from the
- 3:47grammar You Shammi, You Shammi says Elan Nishin.
- 3:50And I mean the woman. There are mothers who say, lol
- 3:53Benignan le Krista, I'm not going to bring my son to show in
- 3:58Camille Melaf Melafu. What he wants to go, he'll go.
- 4:03If he comes around and starts liking to that study, he'll do
- 4:06it. There's you Shami time.
- 4:08It says the mothers who said I'm not going to pressure my
- 4:11children. I'm not going to you know, I'm
- 4:13not going to push them too hard. Law of Dean top or it says
- 4:17they're not doing the right thing, rather they should put
- 4:21pressure Ella via Sula Mishpat in The Cave uranium.
- 4:25If they put the proper pressure, God will be there to make the
- 4:28children long till now it says that you Xiaomi and then they
- 4:31bring the classic Basu. This happens to be the mother's
- 4:35in this instinct, you're right, really is the fathers.
- 4:37And then he brings you're right. And then he brings the classic
- 4:39basuk, which says Hosher, Shivto, Sonnebino, Volvo,
- 4:46Shahram Moussard. We know the translation.
- 4:48You don't know that by Souk. We know the translation of
- 4:50basuk, which translation spares the rod, hates the child.
- 4:55One who loves him, disciplines him in his youth, spare the rod
- 4:59hates the child. And that is the core of this
- 5:02theme, which means there's someone withholds from
- 5:05discipline, someone holds back from applying discipline.
- 5:09They are really displaying a real disdain for the child.
- 5:13They don't care enough. That's how far it goes.
- 5:16They really don't care. Now let's address the problem.
- 5:20The problem is today you really can't hit today.
- 5:23You can't over forget hit. You can't even overdo the
- 5:26pressure. There are 1000 million
- 5:28psychological angles. I tell you that if you put out
- 5:31too much pressure, it's going to hurt them.
- 5:33And there's been so many negative effects of such
- 5:37pressure. And I've had issues with
- 5:39teachers and principals on this very topic about the fact that
- 5:42the pressure that they place is not healthy and it's not good.
- 5:46So what are we doing over here? You're telling me from the
- 5:48psukim the Torah doesn't lie, the Torah is genuine, and you're
- 5:53bringing me sources that there's a constant of pressure.
- 5:55And at the same time, we all know the negative effects that
- 6:01pressure hitting discipline has. Let's understand.
- 6:06I think I want to work in this last night for a little while.
- 6:08Rabbi, isn't there a way to discipline?
- 6:10You're not into the. Oh shit, not hitting.
- 6:12Not hitting is out your job. Yeah, that's, that's how
- 6:15discipline. So let's play it out.
- 6:17OK, So there are a couple of themes #1 the reason, the reason
- 6:22that a lot of discipline has backfired nowadays is partially
- 6:27because of where it comes from. This is a very important point.
- 6:31That means like this, if a parent or rabbi sees someone do
- 6:37something wrong and he therefore disciplines whatever way, he
- 6:42gets upset if that is coming from that very word upset.
- 6:47If it's coming from anger, it will not have the effect it's
- 6:51supposed to have if the discipline is happening from
- 6:54anger. Has to come from love, OK?
- 6:56Has to come from the right place, has to come from love.
- 6:58And that right there is a major challenge because very often,
- 7:03I'll tell you as a young parent, very often when we're wired to
- 7:07discipline, it's because we're emotional, it's because we're
- 7:10upset, it's because we don't believe in what they're doing.
- 7:12But it's coming partially because we don't really like
- 7:15that. And we're maybe a little
- 7:16insulted even at the child or maybe upset at the child now.
- 7:20So I say, OK, no problem. Just calm down and then apply
- 7:24the discipline. OK, now for you to calm down and
- 7:28then play in that discipline, first of all, it takes a lot of
- 7:30strength. And second of all, that means at
- 7:34the time that you do apply that discipline, as Mars just said,
- 7:37it'll need to come from love and it'll need to come from care.
- 7:42And the reality is, once we calm down, once we relax, and now we
- 7:49want to apply that discipline, it's very difficult to get
- 7:53yourself interested, to make yourself care enough to apply a
- 7:57discipline. Why?
- 7:58Because we're really not that interested.
- 8:00And this is where the real problem lies.
- 8:02We don't very often care enough for the person's sake to display
- 8:08the real version of discipline. So everyone looks at these
- 8:10things that, oh, I wish we could have the old days where they had
- 8:12the stick and the thing and they tell you about the Tammuda and
- 8:16they tell you about all these examples we used to hit today.
- 8:19We don't have that because we tell you calm down, don't
- 8:23display the anger, don't get upset.
- 8:25So let's have the real version. The real version, to be very
- 8:28perfectly honest, the people on top don't care enough.
- 8:32Often times they don't really care for the sake of the person
- 8:36to try and discipline to apply that discipline.
- 8:40When they come, they only seem to apply that discipline.
- 8:43They're angry when the principal gets furious and puts the kid in
- 8:47detention and you're saying to yourself, Oh no, this principal
- 8:50is a very balanced person and he's sending the kid to
- 8:53detention because it's kids sake.
- 8:55Let's be real, often times I've seen my own children when they
- 8:59get very upset at the child, they give him the harsh
- 9:01punishment. Once they calm down, they don't
- 9:05give him a punishment at all. And neither ones are good.
- 9:08The harsh 1 is not good and the calm was not good because
- 9:12neither 1 is coming from the right place.
- 9:14The harsh 1 is coming from his own personal ego and his
- 9:17attention and his and his being insulted.
- 9:19That's anger. Anger on the child is very
- 9:22destructive and the nice one it's kind because he just
- 9:26doesn't care enough. He just wants to process the
- 9:28flow. He just needs the school to run.
- 9:30Same with a parent or many children.
- 9:32They just want the home to function.
- 9:34They don't really have. They didn't really think through
- 9:37what they want for the sake of the child.
- 9:39So they go to extreme one way or to extreme the other way.
- 9:43Down the middle is where you need to go and what is down the
- 9:46middle? Actual thought out, processed,
- 9:51clear discipline that is down the middle.
- 9:54And that's the way a person, a rabbi, a parent, a teacher,
- 9:58principal, whatever, maybe whatever position you're in, a
- 10:01boss who had times need to apply discipline.
- 10:04The proper process is down the middle.
- 10:07Down the middle has neither elements.
- 10:09I'm not doing because I'm angry and I'm not doing because I'm
- 10:13not just, you know, ignoring and not caring.
- 10:16I'm doing what I believe is the truth, and the truth is I'm
- 10:20coming from a good place and I'm applying something that's good
- 10:23for them. That's my ultimate goal.
- 10:25Go ahead. How?
- 10:26About you. The only way to do that is,
- 10:28which is whichever 1 should do in life, is pause in anything.
- 10:32You pause on responses, you pause on everything.
- 10:35So when you pause, you take the emotion out.
- 10:37Good, you know. What I'm telling you, but the
- 10:39reality is for parents of people in this position, when they
- 10:42pause, what they end up doing is they pause and then they ignore.
- 10:46That ends up happening. I know as a parent, very often I
- 10:49was upset. I said OK, it's not going to
- 10:52work to get upset now and then I calmed down and then I ignored
- 10:54it, let it go. To have the strength and to have
- 10:58the love, actually to have the investment to be able to both
- 11:03pause and then to apply a clear decision.
- 11:07It's like a judge, the same way a judge, we do not want them to
- 11:10give a decision when they're being overly convinced by the
- 11:14prosecutor or by the defendant. We want them to give a decision
- 11:18when they sleep over. That's the whole idea.
- 11:20Now a parent has to be the same way and so does the teacher at
- 11:23the very often they go with the extremes.
- 11:26They had emotional no good, calm down.
- 11:30They forget about it. And that's because we're not in
- 11:33their right position. In the right position, should
- 11:35we? Burning with love, not burning
- 11:38with anger, burning with love for your child.
- 11:41That should be the right position, guys.
- 11:43We also would consider that different kids are different.
- 11:46You can't treat every kid the same.
- 11:47Some kids have attention deficit disorder.
- 11:50You can't go crazy on those people, those kids or other
- 11:52kids. You can't do people.
- 11:54Divorced. Absolutely.
- 11:55Well, you're right 1000%. And when you're doing something
- 11:57with love, anyone, whoever gives any discipline, I personally
- 12:01believe they better know who they're dealing with very, very
- 12:05well. Why?
- 12:06Because the goal of this one let's play from the other end.
- 12:09Why is this concept so important?
- 12:11What about the beauty of everyone loves everyone and let
- 12:13things go and let them grow on their own, and people are much
- 12:16better off when they come to it on their own.
- 12:18And we know that's true somewhat.
- 12:20So why is this someone so significant?
- 12:22Or the way you discipline them is the way they're going to
- 12:25discipline their children. Right.
- 12:27But overall you're right about that.
- 12:28But overall, why is the overall thing significant?
- 12:31Why does it not care for it? You have a TADA.
- 12:34You have laws. Today I was meant to talk to us.
- 12:37When we grow up, we'll learn the laws.
- 12:39We'll adopt. We'll know it's right from
- 12:41wrong. Why is it so significant for a
- 12:44person to be disciplined in life?
- 12:46Why can't I just find out the truth?
- 12:49Over time? I'll be around good people.
- 12:52I'll copy my parents, I'll copy my grandparents.
- 12:54I'll left my rabbis. I'll sit down and learn the book
- 12:57over and over and over again, and I'll be very clear.
- 13:00Why do I need discipline? That's a very important question
- 13:04you need to analyze before you ever apply even an inch of that
- 13:08discipline. Why is it so necessary?
- 13:10And here's the reality of two parts.
- 13:12I think reality number one is that if you will go on your own,
- 13:18if you just go on your own to think you'll find the truth.
- 13:21You will not realize what's truth and what's false, what's
- 13:26true and what's not true. You won't realize if you go on
- 13:29your own, you might have a blend of what you're learning, what
- 13:33you're reading, what the rabbi is telling you in his speech,
- 13:36what you hear from your parents. And we'll also have a blend of
- 13:40what you like and what you enjoy and what makes you feel good and
- 13:43what gives you cover it. And you will not realize which
- 13:47one is the good sourced one and which one is the fake source
- 13:50one. I'll give you a clear example.
- 13:52I was noticing something from someone whose parent passed
- 13:55there recently. And that parent has a very
- 13:58distinct approach to life. And I heard over, I didn't hear
- 14:03directly. I heard over that the child
- 14:05said, oh, my father would love this.
- 14:09And I know that father very well.
- 14:11That father literally, if there was a North Pole and the South
- 14:14Pole, that father's point of view is literally the opposite
- 14:19of what so and so is doing. But they've decided my father
- 14:23would love this. Why?
- 14:24Because people convince themselves and they're trying to
- 14:27be true and they're trying to be good.
- 14:29They're trying to do the right thing.
- 14:30You convince yourself, and I convince myself the same.
- 14:33We convince ourselves we're on the right path all the time.
- 14:37Even if we're on a path of Torah, we can convince ourselves
- 14:40even if we have the best robbers.
- 14:42You can convince yourself if you do not have a degree of
- 14:45discipline. You can convince yourself you're
- 14:48always doing the right thing, and you can be staring.
- 14:51Shake it in the face. That's how far it goes.
- 14:54That's how real it is. Saying he's undisciplined and
- 14:56has no clue. Oh, why does he have no clue?
- 14:58Because he was never told. That person was never told that
- 15:02they can be wrong. The purpose of discipline, the
- 15:06older purpose of discipline is, and I think this is so important
- 15:10is a person needs to accept the fact a person needs to accept
- 15:15the fact that I can be wrong in specific instances and overall
- 15:19life. You can't learn by yourself yet
- 15:21that learning today, you know what the glass says about
- 15:23learning to all by yourself. The glass says head of all about
- 15:26Dean. There's a sword in his hand.
- 15:28It's very destructive to learn to all by yourself for multiple
- 15:30reasons. One of the reasons is is because
- 15:33you can go off a path, you can learn by yourself.
- 15:36They, they say that there was a guy years ago who was known to
- 15:40be the E Louis the lawyer, the the genius from a certain town.
- 15:44OK, he was known to be a genius from a certain town.
- 15:46Everyone thought this guy was something else.
- 15:50He wrote a lot of notes on his learning and he was considered
- 15:53the biggest deal. But he sat and learnt alone all
- 15:57day long. OK.
- 15:59He passed away eventually and they think this guy was like a a
- 16:02holy man. Officially, he sat on his own.
- 16:04He learnt alone and he was a very private person.
- 16:07He wrote notes, no books, no speeches, no connection with
- 16:10people. But that's he passed away and
- 16:13they say they started all the time for a certain reason.
- 16:15He passed away and he wanted to be buried with his notes.
- 16:18I believe they dug up and they looked at his notes before he
- 16:21buried, buried his notes and they showed him the great rabbis
- 16:24and there was nothing special on his notes.
- 16:27There was 0 in point TA RA. The guys TA RA seemed crazy and
- 16:32they came to the God door I believe was the guy on the
- 16:34villain at the time and they said how is this possible?
- 16:37This guy's sat and learnt all day long on his own.
- 16:39How can it be possible? And he said that's what happens
- 16:42when you do things alone. You need to be part of a society
- 16:46and you need to be told when you're learning.
- 16:48You got that right, you got that wrong.
- 16:51That's the wrong shot. That's the right shot.
- 16:53You need to be told it all the time.
- 16:54That's true in learning, it's also true in life.
- 16:57If you are not ever disciplined and you will make mistakes,
- 17:02there will be glaring mistakes that you'll never notice.
- 17:06And you say yourself, I have a good parents, a good
- 17:07grandparents, a good rabbis and a good upbringing and a good
- 17:09guidance, and I learn a lot. I could be wrong, you know, OK,
- 17:12you're wrong. The fact that you were never
- 17:14told you're wrong. And it's such an unbelievably
- 17:17significant point, such a powerful point that you know how
- 17:20to prove it. Let me show you how to prove it.
- 17:23I can ask you. Brings great proofs.
- 17:25He says, think about this for a second.
- 17:27Arvaja Vino had a son, a son that he loved, a son that he has
- 17:32such an emotional connection to. You know that son was Ishmael.
- 17:38Ishmael he says Ishmael that came from Agar.
- 17:42Ishmael was really Ishmael was Abraham's son Abraham and he was
- 17:51beloved. To say they use the term gah
- 17:53gween, which means Abraham was emotionally so connected to this
- 17:57son. He is such a love and a strong
- 17:59transition to his son. And part of the problem was he
- 18:02couldn't discipline him because of that love.
- 18:05And the outcome, the outcome of that Ishmael lack of discipline.
- 18:09That's not a good example, right?
- 18:11Well, it is a good example because we just, it's good to
- 18:14hang around with. That's how you learn the no, but
- 18:17you have to have on top. That's our point.
- 18:19He didn't see what was wrong with his son.
- 18:22He didn't. The problem was Ishmael was
- 18:24never discipline and client. Kefsey's bringing this proof
- 18:27from the sources in Gaza and he's telling you the reality,
- 18:30the fact that he wasn't disciplined allowed for Ishmael
- 18:34to be possible. That means all the terrorism
- 18:37we're dealing with today. All right, call.
- 18:39You name the country, you name the problem, Iran, Iraq, Syria,
- 18:44Lebanon, Gaza, the whole world. You're going to forget this.
- 18:49Everything, though, all that came from a lack of discipline.
- 18:55Never being told he's wrong. Same thing is true with ESAV.
- 18:58ESAV, was it Haka, Vinu's favorite son?
- 19:01This is what I can see calling sources his favorite son.
- 19:04And because he was his favorite son, there was an emotional
- 19:07connection that was so strong, and therefore ESAV was never a
- 19:11discipline. The outcome, Let's look at that
- 19:14outcome. How'd that do for us?
- 19:15Well, the entire Europe and all its destruction and the Nazis
- 19:19and all their craziness and all that came from Isav.
- 19:23So he got really pretty 2 flawed existences, Ishmael and Isav.
- 19:28The world's issues at large came from these two places, and they
- 19:32really came down from the fact that the rod was spared on their
- 19:37ancestors. That's the ball game.
- 19:39It's that simple. They were never told they were
- 19:42wrong. And then they snowballed and
- 19:44snowballed and snowballed until they became what they became.
- 19:47And the truth is our children think are in a different world,
- 19:51but our children need the same discipline.
- 19:54You know what? Adults need it too because you
- 19:57need to stop and say to yourself, I made a mistake.
- 20:00Just last night. I had a conversation with
- 20:02someone. It was a long, lengthy
- 20:04conversation and the person was going on and on.
- 20:07And he was as wrong as wrong gets OK type of guy.
- 20:12You can't tell him he's wrong. He just got to, you know, deal
- 20:14with that and let the conversation end.
- 20:16But he was as wrong as one gets in the middle.
- 20:18I told him, I said you're painting a picture that is not
- 20:21correct. I can't exactly articulate to
- 20:24you why, because you're much better than me articulating
- 20:27things. I can't.
- 20:28I can't get back and forth in this.
- 20:30But you're painting the picture that's not correct.
- 20:32And I just can't tell you why. But you're completely off.
- 20:36That's what I told him. And the truth is the reason this
- 20:39person is off was because of the fact that he cannot see ever
- 20:44being wrong. He accepted.
- 20:45He accepted that. Just listen.
- 20:47He told me. I accept the fact that you
- 20:49disagree with me. He told me.
- 20:50And I very much value your opinion.
- 20:52I just don't see it. This he told me, Oh, that's how
- 20:55it ended. All right, good guy, by the way,
- 20:57good guy. He didn't accept.
- 20:58He didn't accept. No good guy.
- 21:01But the reality is the fact and he has not ever learned
- 21:04discipline is why he is doing something.
- 21:07And it has an opinion, Right? Exactly and he has such a such a
- 21:12messed up picture of what's going on because he paints a
- 21:15picture and usually makes himself feel good and himself
- 21:18look good and nervous he's going.
- 21:20I'm giving you 2 real life examples and two examples from
- 21:23Hazel. The 2 greatest examples of Hazel
- 21:26are Ismail and Esau. The problem of that they had was
- 21:31that their parents loved them too much, meaning their parents
- 21:35were unable to display that discipline.
- 21:38And that this means that we should understand.
- 21:40Every person needs to know that they make mistakes.
- 21:43You need to know that you're a flawed existence.
- 21:46If you don't know it, it doesn't make you into a better person.
- 21:49It just makes you into a more sketch person doesn't make you
- 21:53into you know, you know the kids when they cover their eyes.
- 21:56I think no one sees them. If you see a keep the heart on
- 21:58the seek, right, a little kid, what do they do?
- 22:00You can't see me. No, no, you can't see me.
- 22:03I see you right. So when the guy is not
- 22:07disciplined, I never told these flaws, he thinks he's doing
- 22:10everything wrong. Everyone else around him, maybe
- 22:13they pick up. When they don't pick up, it
- 22:14takes time. It takes years.
- 22:16Over a time, these flaws of that person are glaring.
- 22:20And the only person who doesn't know his flaws is himself.
- 22:23Why? Because nobody ever told so even
- 22:26though we all like being soft and we all like the love and
- 22:29trust me, I was not really that much disciplined as a child.
- 22:32Not too much. And I I'm really reality.
- 22:35I was not that much. My mother did you need it?
- 22:37My mother gave me a little. This is my fallen never hardly
- 22:40of it was a little scary. My mother, she was a little
- 22:42tough. My father not a thing.
- 22:44And she wouldn't hit you with a slipper.
- 22:46My mother would threaten the slipper if the slipper was even
- 22:49coming off the stairs. I told you this.
- 22:52We had a contraption. I rather have that be tonight.
- 22:53We lose that in the same room. We had a contract.
- 22:56We wanted to keep the light on, so we set up a system case deal.
- 23:01We set up a wire around the room, OK.
- 23:03And the system was the light switch was by the door.
- 23:07There's a problem because if my mother comes up the steps and we
- 23:11can't get the lights, which we're in big trouble.
- 23:13So we had a system, we set up a wire around the room and you
- 23:16pull that wire and the light switch goes down.
- 23:19And her mother would never know about that was our system,
- 23:21'cause he was that scared. Oh, forget it.
- 23:25All that worked, that it worked. You should plant.
- 23:27That we had a lot of systems that she didn't know about.
- 23:29You could tell her now. Well, she sells now.
- 23:31Exactly. But the truth is, and I always
- 23:34thought about the fact that I didn't get much discipline for
- 23:36my father. I got a lot of discipline for my
- 23:37mother. And at times I didn't feel like
- 23:40there's any discipline. But the truth is, if you don't
- 23:44get someone telling you, you're flawed.
- 23:46I remember a couple hits in life, but I was doing something
- 23:50big in high school. I'll tell you what it was.
- 23:52I'm close to this. There was a big group of friends
- 23:56and it was like these classic clique situations, all right?
- 23:59And there was one guy who's left out, one guy who's left out and
- 24:02someone called me over or someone wasn't involved, called
- 24:05me over. I remember this like yesterday,
- 24:06a good friend of mine and he said, I want to tell you
- 24:09something. I think what you're doing is
- 24:10wrong. I think, you know, you're aiding
- 24:14and abetting a group and by doing so, you're hurting one
- 24:17person. I think what you're doing is
- 24:19wrong. And I remember literally,
- 24:21literally where I was actually, I was sitting in the Batman
- 24:24dodge in a certain spot and the guy told me this.
- 24:26And I remember at first my response was, how do you mind?
- 24:31You know what he did to me. You know he does.
- 24:33You don't know how bad he is to the friends.
- 24:34He's a bad influencer at the whole spiel.
- 24:37OK. And the guy told me I hate you.
- 24:40I understand. But I still think you're wrong.
- 24:42At least I think you should think about the fact you guys
- 24:45are hurting your person. You should recognize.
- 24:47And after it took maybe a year long time after I settled and
- 24:53thought about it for a while. The truth of the matter is he
- 24:56was right and I was wrong. Just in the moment I couldn't
- 25:00hear it, but he was right, I was wrong and I still have a
- 25:02relationship with the soil. It's called the victim, the
- 25:05individual until this very day. I just spoke to him two weeks
- 25:08ago. But the truth is, sometimes in
- 25:11life you need to be told that you're making a mistake.
- 25:13And if you're a human man enough to hear it and to listen, to
- 25:17accept it, you're so much better off.
- 25:19But if you're not willing to hear it, then you're going to
- 25:21think you're great and you'll be literally like that child.
- 25:24You're covering your eyes and thinking that no one sees you.
- 25:27And the reality is all it is, is you don't see your own flaws.
- 25:31And that's how powerful and significant discipline is.
- 25:34Even though on this day, modern day, it's not like it used to
- 25:36be. You can't do it in the same
- 25:38form. You need to do what I love,
- 25:39that's for sure. The person has to accept his
- 25:43flaws in order to become something great.
- 25:45And the greatest people are those who constantly listened to
- 25:49advice. They had their own strength.
- 25:51They weren't, you know, weak people that heard everything.
- 25:54They listened to advice. They absorbed.
- 25:57Exactly. They absorbed their flaws, and
- 25:59then they went on. That's the strongest person out
- 26:01of this.
