  [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Wednesday February 18th and had a lot of folks asking about some Dolphins players that were recently released the Dolphins kind of having a fire sail down there in Miami And the one that I think is really worth looking at is

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bradley Chub for a number of reasons and he's not the only Dolphins player that former Dolphin from 2025 or before that I think could make sense for the Jaguars because there's connections between the Jaguars, defensive coaching staff and some of these Miami Dolphins players, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: He makes sense as his own corner that would be older, cheaper,

  [SPEAKER_00]: then Buster Brown, then some of the other big names at corner, he definitely makes sense, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Outside corner, but I want Buster Brown back, but there's a player who got released yesterday, and who is now a free agent, can sign anywhere, because there's a lot to get into it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's a potentially really enticing path for the Jaguar's to take, so they could maximize their compensatory picks for 2027.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so the player we're talking about, two minutes in, I apologize, is Bradley Chubb, the Miami Dolphins, former Denver Broncos,

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's a factor in this conversation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: How much will he cause?

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's about to be 30 years old, all these different things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not coming off the best season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Guess what?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just about nobody from the Miami Dolphins is coming off their best season as a bro.

  [SPEAKER_00]: kind of like the 2024 jag wars situation where it's like you look at these guys and a lot of them you're like gosh, like I had a horrible year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, team had a horrible year and that's kind of the way things go sometimes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Bradley Chubb to me, yes you factor in the injuries, but in three of the last four seasons.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bradley Chub has played, you know, over 90% of the year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's played most of the year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 2022, when he went from Denver to Miami, he played most of that year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 2023, played pretty much, I mean, 837 snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Then he missed 2024 and in 2025, he played the whole year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So like three out of the last four years, he has stayed healthy, he has played.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now,

  [SPEAKER_00]: and two of his four seasons, two of his full seasons, two of his four full seasons in Denver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bradley Chub missed significant time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's been in the NFL since 2018.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and he's had three seasons where he either missed the whole season, 2024, or missed a large part of the season, 2019 and 2021.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So even though he has played throughout the last four years, which is a good trend, there's definitely a concerning injury history where this player has missed a large portion or the entire season three times since 2018.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that concern probably combined with the fact that he will turn 30 this year will be factored into his contract wherever he ends up signing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that this is going to be one of those signings where he's like over $20 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you're talking about 15 or less.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, 15 at the peak.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe less, honestly, for Bradley Chub, maybe like 12.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Let's see over the CAPS projection on Bradley Chub.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that their market valuations are pretty good.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they have them at 12.2 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: His valuation, moving forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Which I think that that could be right.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and a range, you know, maybe like 12 to 15, depending on if a team is just like, we got to get this guy and the skill set, I mean, the skill sets incredibly enticing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The fact that he's played three out of the last four years, basically fully healthy is pretty darn exciting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But it's an interesting balancing act and then also the fact that you have

  [SPEAKER_00]: the get out of jail free card with the with the dolphins releasing him where this isn't going to impact your compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Cause if Devon Lloyd goes and signed somewhere gets $18 to $20 million per year, Travis ET and signed somewhere gets $12 million per year, busted around signed somewhere gets $10 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when you're looking at and you know, Greg knew some good sign somewhere as a starter to you're looking at.

  [SPEAKER_00]: uh... help the healthy compensatory pick formula if you don't go out and spend a lot of money on uh... unrestricted free agents who whose contractors expired if you go get guys like Bradley Chubbe who released and look why was he released because the dolphins are resetting they're resetting organizationally that's why he was released not because they can football player uh... then you have the fact that Bradley Chubbe does have a lot of familiarity

  [SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Campanila, like they were in Miami together for over a year, um, so that there's that factor for it too, and then he's just a damn good player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's an edge rusher who primarily aligns, you know, almost exclusively outside the tackle, and he's been incredibly productive throughout his career

  [SPEAKER_00]: One of these guys that racks up the pressures, he's a good run defender, he gets to the quarterback, he gets home.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He kind of, he kind of, I mean, is like the in-between Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker size-wise, he's almost the biggest Trayvon Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, you wanna talk about like a get off the bus group of Ed Dressers, Bradley Chub,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hines Allen, it's like the monster is walking off the bus, that would be fun to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, you can get all three on the field at the same time, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have to have a rotation up front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Bradley Chub, he can come in as your edge three on run downs, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: After Trayvon or Josh needs a breather and be a massive upgrade there,

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then he can be a every time you're in clear pass version situations, you have Bradley Chub, Trayvon Walker, and Josh Heinz Allen on the field with Eric Armstead or hopefully you are able to find another guy that can come in there and rush to with Eric Armstead.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you have the rotation, you need a rotation, you need a group of defenders on the line that can just kick ass all game long.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's what you've seen from some of the best teams in the NFL over the last half decade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because the Jaguars are up against the cap right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're 13 million in the red, but we've talked about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They could work with Trevor Lawrence and Josh Heinz Allen on restructures, and those are restructures where the player would have to agree to the restructure, but there's no reason not to.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar is right, you have big ol' signing bonus.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You get that money right away.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They get to pro-rated over the length of the new contract, the new deal technically, and then they can add void years too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They can do a lot of things to lower those capits because Trevor Lawrence and Josh Heinz Allen are up right around $24 million for capits for this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You restructure aircarms, set a little bit and kick the can down the road a little bit there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of guys you can do that with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A Trayvon Walker extension can save use a lot of cap space for 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of different ways to get this thing done.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, the thing about this that gets me the most excited is, in no way are you impacting your future draft capital by bringing in a Bradley Chump.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, if you feel good about the health, because other than that, there's no way you evaluate this player and you say, nah, he's not a good fit for us.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And even if the jags didn't make a move on the interior, the defensive line for somebody who would necessarily be better than Eric Armstrong, instead in 2026, if you're base for past rushing,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Your front four is Josh Heinz Allen, then trade-bomb walker, Eric Roms, dead next to him, then Bradley Chub on the other side.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I would be in favor of this, and it's not like that it's the only way that Jaguars can go.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's some guys that could be cheaper where the Jags can say, well,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Even if we sign this guy, it's not going to negatively impact our config formula because, you know, definitely it's going to make that much more money and Travis ET in and in Buster, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're pretty damn brilliant inside that building.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This isn't the only path, but I do think Bradley Chub being in Jacksonville Jaguar is definitely something I would be excited about.
