- 0:25Speaker 2: sent her a message.
- 0:26Speaker 3: She said. It was lovely.
- 0:27Speaker 4: She said, you got a nice email from you. Yes,
- 0:29Speaker 4: You've always a bit of a crush on here I have.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys get on well. She said you couldn't
- 0:34Speaker 3: make it. I said, really because he's in the office
- 0:37Speaker 3: at the moment just eating a pie.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Of course she did.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Now, Unfortunately the little way had to look after the
- 0:45Speaker 2: little one today, who wake up at three am this
- 0:48Speaker 2: morning and was in so much pain that she made
- 0:53Speaker 2: a hell of a lot of noise to really to.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Wake us up.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah right, she was like thumping and banging and crying, yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Rather than just coming in and seeing you.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but poor thing, it's bloody painful, the old tonsils.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's a ball ache.
- 1:08Speaker 4: You and Clear do have quite a funny relationship in
- 1:11Speaker 4: what way, like you seem to really get on really well.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Not really, yes, you do. I get on well, you.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Get on better with her than anyone else in the office.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I would say I get on with her as well
- 1:23Speaker 2: as I do everyone at radio.
- 1:25Speaker 3: It's not true at all true. I've got a question
- 1:28Speaker 3: for you, Jason.
- 1:30Speaker 1: What is this you found?
- 1:31Speaker 3: I've got a question in a great way. Yes, job.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Well, she's in the head of marketing for Radio Hodaki
- 1:39Speaker 2: and the a SEC.
- 1:41Speaker 4: That is not true, one hundred true, she's marketing for both.
- 1:46Speaker 3: That's right. Yes, what's Isaac's job?
- 1:50Speaker 1: He does similar things too for marketing.
- 1:54Speaker 4: No, he doesn't, but he doesn't do he just does
- 1:57Speaker 4: he brand management, brand engagement, which is promotions and stuff.
- 2:01Speaker 3: But similar. No, it's not it's not.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Well, I mean it's not. What Clear does is brand
- 2:06Speaker 1: engagement too.
- 2:06Speaker 4: She does marketing. Wow, it's a very big engage difference.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Brand manager is.
- 2:12Speaker 1: An engagement the same as marketing.
- 2:14Speaker 4: This is in the like in the stupid corporate world. No,
- 2:17Speaker 4: but in our real world. Yes, it's very different, thank you.
- 2:20Speaker 4: So she's wait, no, improved you wrong, very different. So
- 2:24Speaker 4: she Clear is in charge of the entire way that
- 2:27Speaker 4: our station looks from the outwards looking in. Yes, like
- 2:31Speaker 4: the marketing of our station billboards blah blah blah blah.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Whereas Isaac is in charge of executing our internal promos,
- 2:36Speaker 4: you know, like if we do the fishing trip or
- 2:37Speaker 4: whatever it might be.
- 2:38Speaker 3: He helps with all that stuff.
- 2:39Speaker 1: He buys us snacks and stuff.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the one. That's the one. How you missed
- 2:47Speaker 3: out on a good night last night? Man?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so I hear. I got that vibe on the
- 2:51Speaker 2: chat there. But you know it needs must needs mass,
- 2:55Speaker 2: you know, And I'm glad you acusations against me leaving you.
- 3:02Speaker 1: How false was it doing a damp in the middle
- 3:04Speaker 1: of it?
- 3:04Speaker 3: It was false. I did not leave reason. I had
- 3:08Speaker 3: a trade in the auction that I needed to win,
- 3:11Speaker 3: and it took a little bit longer. I swear to God,
- 3:14Speaker 3: you wid purchasing a fat turd? Were you to God?
- 3:20Speaker 3: I don't tell you if I was. I swear to God.
- 3:22Speaker 3: I had a a trade in the auction that was
- 3:25Speaker 3: I thought it was finishing at eight, But it was
- 3:26Speaker 3: finishing at eight fifteen, right, But then to get into
- 3:30Speaker 3: a trade war, not much of one, right, victory was mine?
- 3:34Speaker 3: I thought it was maybe because of all the desiccated
- 3:36Speaker 3: chicken you're eating.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That you just had really stodgy pills.
- 3:39Speaker 4: I was like cracking out.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I am having pool issues. But yeah, that was not
- 3:43Speaker 3: related to why I left the cinema last night.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Because I was cracking up because at one point it
- 3:47Speaker 4: was me, Pugs and Moggie's lovely wife sitting together in
- 3:50Speaker 4: a cinema for like fifteen minutes while Moggi was just
- 3:53Speaker 4: back and went out.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, doing a big steamer.
- 3:56Speaker 4: And then I was cracking up unternally, like the fuck
- 3:59Speaker 4: this is good?
- 3:59Speaker 3: Content said, It's not going to be any good unless
- 4:01Speaker 3: this has been recorded as has been recorded, that's not
- 4:05Speaker 3: But I turned around and looked at you, and this
- 4:07Speaker 3: is literally you're looking at the screen. You're like this, Yeah, yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 3: one hundred percent.
- 4:12Speaker 4: That's how I watch a movie that I do not enjoy.
- 4:16Speaker 3: The whole Archy Big Show week days from four on
- 4:19Speaker 3: Radio Hiarchy, They Big Show Podcast.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Did you enjoy the movie last night?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Loved it? Certainly? Well?
- 4:27Speaker 2: That thing is oh right, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, I
- 4:31Speaker 2: have to go and see it.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Very well made New Zealand film, I thought, And you
- 4:35Speaker 3: can certainly see and we'll get into this, but certainly
- 4:38Speaker 3: see the seventies influencers there can I just say, one
- 4:41Speaker 3: of the coolest and most beautifully shot films I've seen
- 4:45Speaker 3: in a long time. Yeah, really nicely shot, Beautikay.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Okay, Well, it's interesting because pag Son, who who I
- 4:55Speaker 2: and him and I have very similar tastes in terms
- 4:58Speaker 2: of movies and things like that, and I very much
- 5:01Speaker 2: respect his opinion. He was saying that it's one of
- 5:04Speaker 2: the best movies he's ever seen. Right, So if he's
- 5:07Speaker 2: saying that and I'm then.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm I'm all in.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Look, I'm all my money on the table and I'm
- 5:13Speaker 2: pushing it to the center.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I'm gonna say that it was not the movie for me.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I think the reason for that, Casey was because, like
- 5:21Speaker 3: you are constantly turning to my wife and saying, who's that?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Why are they doing that? Who's she? You know, sometimes
- 5:29Speaker 3: you're with people and they just don't understand your films. Sure,
- 5:32Speaker 3: and we're all in the same boat. So I don't know, man,
- 5:34Speaker 3: We're just going to have to wait and see. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 3: that was it. That was why.
- 5:38Speaker 4: And look, I almost I'm now I'm in a position
- 5:42Speaker 4: where I wish because it was beautifully shot. It was like, seriously,
- 5:45Speaker 4: it was, and that to be honest, Magie the but
- 5:47Speaker 4: at the beginning when they did the trick with the
- 5:49Speaker 4: screen widening, oh yeah, I was like that coming but
- 5:53Speaker 4: I see I did it, and I was like, that's
- 5:55Speaker 4: really cool because it went from vintage to like right
- 5:58Speaker 4: now we're in the movie, and I was like, that's
- 5:59Speaker 4: really creative, really cool. The rest of the story wasn't
- 6:03Speaker 4: for me, however, I do think it was more on.
- 6:06Speaker 1: The podcast you do, I do not do it. I
- 6:10Speaker 1: do not do it.
- 6:12Speaker 4: But now the situation I'm in is the director's coming
- 6:15Speaker 4: in today on the show. And while I enjoyed the
- 6:18Speaker 4: direction of the movie, I did not enjoy the story
- 6:20Speaker 4: of the movie. And I kind of wish I hadn't
- 6:22Speaker 4: seen the movie so I could just ask him about it.
- 6:24Speaker 4: But now I've seen it, But.
- 6:25Speaker 3: You don't need to You don't need to tell him
- 6:27Speaker 3: you liked it or tell him that you didn't like it. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 3: I just have to ask him about.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It when I hear beautifully shot. This is a true story.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I went to a New Zealand movie years ago that
- 6:40Speaker 2: was beautifully shot, and I nearly got thrown out of
- 6:43Speaker 2: the cinema because I hated it so much that I
- 6:48Speaker 2: was actually beginning to get quite loud with my effin
- 6:50Speaker 2: and Jeffin.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Oh what we do in the shadows?
- 6:52Speaker 4: No, No, coming Home in the dark.
- 6:55Speaker 1: No, No, that was a great movie. I love that movie.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Movie was the movie that they came to the show, classic.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Very long, beautiful camera shots that just went on for
- 7:07Speaker 2: ever and ever and ever, and I was getting to
- 7:11Speaker 2: the point where it was just like, for fuck's sake,
- 7:16Speaker 2: would you just get to the story.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Yeah. I had a mate that would do that. And
- 7:20Speaker 3: he goes like, how's the movie?
- 7:21Speaker 4: Man?
- 7:22Speaker 3: He's like, good lighting, man, good lighting. That's not what
- 7:25Speaker 3: I asked you. Has the movie which takes into account
- 7:28Speaker 3: all of those things. How's the movie? Seriously? Man? Well shot,
- 7:32Speaker 3: It's okay, that's fucking ship good. Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 2: What I say, it's like when you do a theater show, right,
- 7:40Speaker 2: and you come out and your mates are there and
- 7:42Speaker 2: it's you've done a shudder and it's and you can
- 7:45Speaker 2: see it, and then them trying to find a.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Way as well, look exactly.
- 7:49Speaker 5: I'm saying, Well, the other thing is shit and I
- 7:53Speaker 5: hated it, But what you say is, jeez, that made
- 7:57Speaker 5: me think that's another good one and a good one
- 8:00Speaker 5: because it's either way thought provoking.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Yah. Thought provoking stuff.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And I also learn another lesson on that regard.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It was quite a performance.
- 8:10Speaker 2: By an actor called Paul Barrett, who's very experienced that
- 8:14Speaker 2: when we were doing a theater show and I had
- 8:18Speaker 2: a terrible propensity to really you know, people will come
- 8:22Speaker 2: up to me after the shans say how much they
- 8:24Speaker 2: loved it, right, And I would say, oh, no, it
- 8:27Speaker 2: was pretty shit tonight and I was terrible and blah
- 8:29Speaker 2: blah blah, And Paul was like, no, don't you dare
- 8:33Speaker 2: do that. People have their opinion of it. They endured it.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You shut the fuck up, you say thank you, and
- 8:40Speaker 2: you get on with it.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Okay, So I have my opinion of this film, right,
- 8:43Speaker 4: and Pugs loved it, Mike, you loved it. Your wife
- 8:46Speaker 4: loved it. I didn't enjoy it. Now yeah, and so
- 8:50Speaker 4: now I'm in a situation where the director's coming in.
- 8:52Speaker 4: I almost wish I hadn't seen it, just like I
- 8:53Speaker 4: could ask him about it, because it's just a weird
- 8:57Speaker 4: situation for me.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Now, it's not weird at all, No, it is.
- 9:00Speaker 4: It is because it's the first time in my career
- 9:01Speaker 4: where I've been interviewing someone about to do something where
- 9:04Speaker 4: I think.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Most when we interview somebody we don't like, we don't
- 9:09Speaker 3: like it, certainly, it's just like, yeah, I'll just leave
- 9:16Speaker 3: it to you two to do hepe to talk to
- 9:19Speaker 3: him about that movie. There's lots of stuff that that
- 9:22Speaker 3: I really loved that because but our job is to
- 9:24Speaker 3: promote it, right, Our job is to talk to the
- 9:26Speaker 3: director of the movie, right, Okay, yeah, and we certainly
- 9:30Speaker 3: want to put a positive spinner on. I'm not going
- 9:32Speaker 3: to make a decision for people, no, because there's people
- 9:34Speaker 3: that's that's right, ninety two percent on Rotten Tomatoes exactly,
- 9:37Speaker 3: So I got no right to make a call on
- 9:39Speaker 3: And every.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Day I come in here and say that I like
- 9:41Speaker 4: stuff and then get slammed by you guys literally every
- 9:44Speaker 4: day with my TV choices, right, so this is just
- 9:46Speaker 4: another one.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Because they're wrong.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I love Country Calendar.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Keezy Country Calendar, Keezy.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Yeah, man, it's a great show.
- 9:54Speaker 3: It is a great show. Would you watch a movie
- 9:55Speaker 3: as well? Shot, Yeah, I would, as the thought of it,
- 10:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, A lot of thoughts in there.
- 10:02Speaker 4: It's just an interesting situation. I thought, yeah, yeah, no,
- 10:05Speaker 4: I definitely know what you mean. But Mogi and Pugsund
- 10:09Speaker 4: are going to do that interview. It's gonna be great.
- 10:11Speaker 4: I can't wait.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah, well, yeah, he's going to pug sounds. Agreed to
- 10:14Speaker 2: come in and switch out with me because I haven't
- 10:17Speaker 2: seen it.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Well, he should switch out with me so he can
- 10:19Speaker 4: do the buttons, and then you and I, me and
- 10:21Speaker 4: Jase will take callers in the studio.
- 10:23Speaker 3: B good idea beautiful.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Speaking of beautiful, wait until the I finished recording to
- 10:35Speaker 4: do that ridiculous car. Hey listen to Hodaki though fort
- 10:39Speaker 4: all seven every week.
- 10:40Speaker 3: That's so good.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Okay, all right mate,
