- 1:37SPEAKER_02: This is Fragrance Fridays, and I am so so excited.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: We have a wonderful, wonderful guest.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: She is back for it another amazing episode, and I couldn't be more happy.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: So welcome back, Marissa Ociello.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Um Marissa, I'm so excited for you to be back and for us to do this wonderful episode.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: This one's gonna be for everyone listening all about the zodiac because Marissa made this really cool guide for, you know, depending on what sign you are, which perfume is like her favorite this year for um the zodiac, the different signs.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: So welcome back, Marissa.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm so happy to be here.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And you know, the new year is always such a fun and exciting time.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And I just thought this was a playful way for us to really, you know, express ourselves and our zodiac signs through fragrance and a great way for you and I to kind of do a little round of speed dating, if you will, through 12 um amazing brands that are out there right now.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: No, I'm so excited.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: And I think that you have some really great picks.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: So I want to get like dive into it.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: You know, is this something you've been doing every year, by the way, or is it like a first year for you?
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: This is first annual.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: So I love that it caught your eye and I'm I'm really happy to talk about it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Well, let's dive right in.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: We'll start with the first sign, if you can walk us through and um we'll just like kind of take it from there.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: You can tell us all about the fragrance you shows and and why and um what you love about them.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Okay, fantastic.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: So I think if we're looking at the same sheet, we're looking at commodity first for Capricorn.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: So this is gonna be the babies, you know, starting December 22nd, going into January 19th.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Um, and this is a really, really actually close-to-home one to talk about, but this is the one brand on this whole sheet that I work for, the owner of that brand directly.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: So um my boss, Vican Arslanian, uh purchased commodity about two years ago.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: And that's after being in the industry for about 25 years selling other people's brands.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: And he was very patient and dedicated in his craft and you know, took all of those learnings and put it all into this brand.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: So, you know, the Capricorn is known for being ambitious, dedicated, and patient.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: So, how fitting uh for this brand that, you know, really took the slow route and is now rather explosive.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: So if you guys have not, you know, experienced this brand, it is um, it's now in, you know, I think over 100 locations of Sephora.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: So it's really accessible for you to go um try at a local shop.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Um, but I know Etka, you and I have touched on it briefly and you experienced the brand yourself.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: And it's in my top picks.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: I put um I put book in my top picks as well as paper because both of the scents are so good and commodity in general is such a wonderful line.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: Like they've got just the most beautiful fragrances, and I feel like there's something there for everybody.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: I really, really love the whole line.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: That's yeah, and and actually fun that we're starting on this one because I always like to say that it's you know makes the really this exceptional product, you know, rather accessible.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: So if you are intimidated by fine fragrance or niche fragrance, this is a really good brand for you to get your feet wet.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: So um very appropriate that we started off strong with commodity.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: Yes, absolutely.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: And I'm so glad that they're in Sephora now.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: That's a huge, you know, that's a huge thing, good thing for um being accessible to people because this is a like commodity, just one more thing before we move on to um the next, but like it's a wonderful brand in the sense that like if you really like Marcia said, if you don't know much about fragrance, they have something for literally everybody.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Like it's such a nice, nice spread.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: But yeah, let's move on.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: I I believe Aquarius is the next one, yes?
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Yes, ma'am.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: So I mean, again, coming in hot with Maison Francis Kirchchen for Aquarius.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, and you know, a lot of you might know their fragrance Baccarat Rouge 540.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: That's the most famous, if you will, especially TikTok famous.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, yes.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Yes, but I went with um their latest release, 724.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: But the brand in general um is so special and unique and can do no wrong and is just kind of the um pristine image of a fine fragrance house.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: So the the the uh characteristics of an Aquarius are innovative, progressive, and independent.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And when I think about this brand, I just feel like they've never ever felt like they needed to fold to the trends that are happening.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: They're always just being a hundred percent true to their DNA, which is following these Parisian codes.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: So they're very, very proud of their Paris home base.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And everything about the brand has things like, you know, zinc caps to emulate the zinc rooftops in Paris and gold embossed font on their labels, which is to emulate the golden monuments in Paris.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, of course, the the star of it all, which is Maison Francis Kirchin, House of Francis Kirchin.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: And he is just truly, you know, the most celebrated per time.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: And this is his brand.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: So it's just so special.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Um and it's it's a must experience for anybody.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: It's not the cheapest brand to buy into, but again, it is it is widely available in the finer department stores like Demon Marcus and Saks and Bloomingdales.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, this is a really, really interesting um brand for me as well.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: Because I haven't really experienced it.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: And I'm I'm very like, I'm a novice when it comes to fragrances.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: So I love that you have put like such a luxe brand in there for people to really experience because I mean, like you said, TikTok was is blowing up about you know the baccarat fragrance.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: And I I understand that you know they just discovered it, but this is really nice for those of you who've already tried that fragrance and you love it and you want something else by the brand.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: Uh it's a this is a great option.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: So I love that.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: I love that you included them.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: Wonderful.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Um, okay.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Next we have Wilhelm Parfumerie.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: So this is for our Pisces.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Um, this brand is so, so fun.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: So just you know, quickly looking at the traits of a Pisces, they're sensitive, they're empathetic, but they're imaginative.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I love the imagination and sensitivity that comes from the founder Jan Wilhelm of this brand.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: So this is one of those brands.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: There's a couple of them out there, but not all feel as authentic as this one, where every one of the fragrances in this perfume house are based off of a story of the founder's life that really stuck with him.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: And these stories are so thoughtful and genuine and true to him.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: You know, just two quick examples.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: One from Morning Chess, which is his best men selling fragrance.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Um, it is a fond memory he has of his summers at his grandfather's house in Sweden, where he had to do his daily chore of mowing the lawn.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: And his grandfather and father are playing chess on the veranda, and he has this very vivid memory of that, you know, that fresh cut grass smell mixed with the leather pieces of the chessboard.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And I mean, it's just such a beautiful story as you're smelling this remarkable fragrance, you know?
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's so cool.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: And I I love that you you have this like story component behind the choice because that's so important, I feel like, you know, especially if we're talking about the zodiac a little bit.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Like, I just want to take a minute and and really, you know, talk about that because we all have stories, you know, depending on like whatever sign you are, even without that.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, we have a story, and especially going into the new year, it's such a good idea to grab like a fragrance that represents what you're trying to transform into and who you really are.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: So I love that, Marcia.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: That's really, really uh beautiful that you did that did it like that.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Wonderful.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that one's really fun.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: If you guys have not experienced Phil Hell and perfumery, um, you can check it out in most Blue Mercury's.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Um, so give it, give it a look.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: It's a beautiful collection.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Um, and then moving on to our Aries, we have Maison Cravelli.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: So this one I would imagine that a lot of you do not know.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: They are definitely one of the newer brands on this page.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Um, another Parisian house.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: And, you know, for Aries, some of the some Aries are known to be um very ambitious, wanting to be number one, um, and not afraid, you know, of being competitive and and and you know, just getting there.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: So it it does kind of make me think of this brand that almost came out of nowhere.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: So it feels, and they're really competing at this high level of of luxury in these beautiful department stores.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And this particular brand, Maison Cravelli, is known for the unexpected, which is so fun for me because you know, I knowing about fragrance, when I hear something is, let's say, an iris fragrance, and iris is in the name, and then I smell it, I'm like, whoa, I thought I didn't like iris and I was expecting this, you know, powdery, earthy fragrance.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: But what he does, um, Tebow Cravelli is he pairs all of his fragrances with something totally unexpected to give you a different experience than you could have predicted.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: So, for example, his iris fragrance is paired with vanilla, and it's my favorite fragrance from the line and probably my most complimented fragrance.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Um I would definitely get your nose on this brand because I think it will kind of debunk everything we all think we know.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, one of the main things I get is some will be like, I don't want to smell that.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: I don't like rose.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: But it's such a broad statement to make because you haven't smelt every type of rose, you haven't smelt rose with every combination of pairings.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: So I think this brand will really be like, you know what, let me not be so quick to jump to, you know, um judgment and and just smell things and experience them um more off of emotion rather than the notes themselves.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: No, I I like that.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: I like that you mentioned that because I think for me, first time I realized that, especially since you mentioned rose, was Stella McCartney's Stella perfume.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: It was it's all about the English rose.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: And I was like, oh gosh, I'm gonna like die from floral overload here.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: But then like I smelled her perfume and I was like, oh wow, this is really nice.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, so it's definitely a learning lesson for those of us who do assume.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I love that.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: I love that you put that in there.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: So next one is Taurus, I think.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Yes, next one is Taurus.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Um, this is Juliet Has a Gun.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Um, I would imagine this might be the most known potentially brand um on the list, up there at least.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: And our Tauruses are known for being determined, loyal, and drawn to beauty, which I think is so fitting for Juliet Has a Gun.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: So just to give everyone a little history on this brand and and the name itself, because it is a bit unique, but um, Romano Ricci, who is the great-grandson of famous fashion designer Nina Ricci, um, you know, he wanted to create a brand that really just like paid honor to all of the powerful women in his life.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: And he was inspired by how different each of their personalities were, but ultimately, you know, what what determined women that they were.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: So he created this brand that that speaks to the beauty of women and and what they do.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: And so this just felt so, so fitting.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Um, and again, it is available in Sephora.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: So drawn to beauty, you can find it in your local beauty store.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: And, you know, not a perfume is the claim to fame that I think should be in everyone's fragrance wardrobe.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: And this one is actually really all over like social media.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: So I'm sure most of you out there have heard of Juliet Hesigon.
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, I honestly I haven't tried it yet, Marissa.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: I need to try this fragrance.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Like, I haven't that'll be my new year's gift to you.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna send you the call.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: No, I really I've been meaning to though.
- 13:05SPEAKER_02: I've been meaning because I see it everywhere, and I'm like, you know what?
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: I need to go and get my hands on it.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: But this is it's such a cool fragrance just by looking at it from what people have said.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: So that's very exciting that you put it in there.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Fantastic.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Fantastic.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Um, okay, so next is Gemini, which is actually my sign.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: So I mean what a compliment to Floraiku Paris that I'm giving you my zodiac sign.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Um, no, but this is um so the traits of a of a Gemini, which I've heard many traits, but let's go with these um that someone helped me pull.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: We've got spontaneous, playful, unpredictable, curious, um, which I think is very fitting of Floraiku.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: So Florhaiku Paris, um, the name itself is unique and it basically takes flowers and haiku poetry.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: And it's supposed to be this very poetic um experience, I'll call it, of a brand.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: It's really opulent.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: It comes in this kind of bento box packaging and it's you know$350, but there's so much artistry and components that go into it.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: So you'll see if you look it up that there's this ornate cap.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And that cap, when you take it off, actually becomes a beautiful leather uh travel case that you could put your Tenamel spray into and go on uh a trip with it.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: And everything is just done with artists and intention, and it's really, really um unpredictable and um something unexpected.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: So this brand is something to try.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: I would say order their discovery kit because they do something really unique called shadowing, which I love.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: And they've got their core line of fragrances, but then they have a light shadow and a dark shadow.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: And the idea is given what your intention is for that day or your mood or the occasion, that you take your main line fragrance and you layer it with a dark or light shadow to kind of give you that alter ego that you're looking for.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Um wow.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: So you're you have a power meeting, you go with the dark shadow, you know?
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: So it's really fun.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's a really I love that.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: That's a really, really fun.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Like, you could play around with that a lot.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: I would I would literally announce it to you.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: I would be like, I have my dark shadow on.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: So expect like this.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, don't mess with me today.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: But I love that.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: I love that that's your sign that you put uh pick such a really, really cool um concept in terms of the fragrance.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would say it's the most um even difficult to find brand on this list.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: So if you guys are really, really looking for that obscure, no one else is wearing it, this would be the one I would go after.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: So where do we buy it?
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Where did you buy where do you buy yours?
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: So Floraiku, I would go to twistedlily.com.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Um they are a great online curation of really niche and hard to find brands, and they have Floraiku available on their site.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, you guys heard it.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: So all the Geminis out there, definitely check this one out.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Um, but next one is cancer.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: This is actually my dad's sign, I think.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is cancer.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Let's learn about cancer.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and you know, I I, as you know, you saw this when I posted about it online and I I got some comments of cancers, you know, one cancer specifically saying the actual fragrance I posted is her favorite fragrance and she's a cancer.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: So this one really hit the nail on the head.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: Um the traits of a cancer are devoted, highly intuitive, reserved, but act when necessary.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: And um, when I think of cancers that I know, um, this was fitting.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: And when I think of the brand Zerjo, you know, this is an Italian perfume house.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: And I was like, wow, how appropriate.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Because if you know an Italian woman, you know not to mess with her.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: She she is loyal and devoted to her family.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: And she might seem like she's quiet, but when she needs to, she will speak up.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: So um this is um a really beautiful, beautiful perfume house to say the least, and they are on fire right now.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: So um they're based out of uh Torino, Italy, and they came to the US about two, three years ago.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: But this is now available again in you know Neiman Marcus, Sax Fifth Avenue, and it's just known for this really opulent packaging.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: So everything from these detailed caps and beautiful bottles, and um, some of the bottles even come with things like a piece of an asteroid in the box, an actual authentic asteroid.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Um, it's it's crazy.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: They they spare no expense, but what's really special is the juices inside.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: So this is one of those brands that I have never and don't think I will ever hear a complaint about it not lasting or it not projecting.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: You are getting your bang for your buck.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: It's a luxury, and that's what keeps people coming back.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: So there's something for everyone in this collection, and it's it's really special.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's so cool.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: You know, one of my favorite parts of fragrance is the packaging.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna lie.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: Like the amount of work people put into like creating some unique, very luxe packaging.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: It's so cool to hear that about the asteroid thing.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: That's that's really cool.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: They even their best seller is Herbapora, and it comes in a turquoise velvet bottle.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: It is, it's just they do things that you've never seen before.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: And at the prices that we're paying for these luxury brands, I'm with you.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: I want it to be a beautiful decorative bottle on my nightstand.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: And so, where do you want us to go as a go-to for purchasing these?
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: I would definitely, I would definitely say Neiman Marcus.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: They're they're really big um component, you know, they're they're big on the brand and it's available in most stores and online as well.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: I love Neiman Marcus.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: I feel like you can get everything there.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: It's like every brand.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: So Leo is up next for all you lions out there.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: I can't wait.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Let's learn about Leo and the wonderful fragrance you've chosen for them.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: So this is the Mean London, and um, the characteristics are passionate, loyal, and dramatic.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: And this was really fun because I happen to know the creative director of this brand, Christopher Chung.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: And I say this with love that he is totally dramatic in the best way possible as well as passionate.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: Um, but it felt very fitting.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: And this brand has really, I just felt like I always kind of take some brand like under my wing and feel like it's my baby for a couple months at a time.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: And this has been this brand for a little while now.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: And we've just launched exclusively with them at SACS, and the response has been so warm and so exciting.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: And it seems like it's this um breath of fresh air that everyone in the stores, both the people selling the product and buying it, have been looking for.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Just because if you look at the beauty market right now, everything is rather black and white and modern and simplistic.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: And then here comes Thamine with these, you know, um jewel-like bottles that are this um very beautiful dark, you know, blue.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: And it's just unexpected.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: They've got black caps that are magnetic and it's this pop of color.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: And then when you smell the fragrances, again, it's just like wow.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's something special.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: And the word same itself means precious.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: And every one of the fragrances is inspired by a rare gem or jewelstone or crown or or diamond necklace, and it's it's you know, ultimate luxury.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: So this is a London-based fragrance house, then, yes?
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: Oh wow.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: So and where do we buy it?
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Um, other than just sax is where they're at, or anything like that right now.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: They're they're exclusive to Saks.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Um, and that will be expanding this year.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: So you'll it'll be more accessible, but right now Saks is our premier partner.
- 20:41SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: Well, that's a really, really great um first retailer.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: I'm glad they got into Saks.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: That's that's wonderful.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: Um, I I'm also with uh Leo's.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: I just wanted to say, you know, they have a very like from what I've noticed, the Leo's in my life, it's a very interesting personality where it's like reserved, but they can like turn it off immediately and be very like powerhouse people, you know.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: So this is yeah, I agree.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: It's a very cool, it's a very cool uh selection, I think, for Leo.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Um, Virgo, I'm interested about what your uh your thoughts were on Virgo before you uh chose.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: So Virgos are known to be very logical, practical, um, and systematic in what they do.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: So I picked Hermetica Paris because um the founders, John and Clara Malloy, created this brand because they saw that there was an absolute void in the market of you know, really, really thoughtful, um, clean beauty in the fine fragrance space.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: So it's always been done in kind of this like, I don't want to say hippy dippy way, but more like essential oils and things like that.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: But they were like, we don't want to forego the luxury aspect of it and the perfumery componentries of making a fine fragrance, but we want it to be sustainable.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: So they came up with this really innovative.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Brand Hermetica Paris that it took them like three years to develop, but ultimately it's an alcohol-free perfume brand that has moisturizing properties.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: So it's multifunctional.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: And every ingredient is sourced with sustainability in mind.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: So it's just a very thoughtful, logical, practical brand that happens to be beautiful, long-lasting, affordable, and good for you and good for the environment.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: And I love the sustainability thing.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Like that's interesting to hear about in uh in fragrance.
- 22:34SPEAKER_02: That really hasn't come up a lot yet in my interviews.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: So that's very interesting to hear that.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think we, I think that's where everything's headed, to be honest with you.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: So it was very forward of them to have launched this like five years ago.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: They were definitely ahead of the curve on that one.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: Um, and that is why I'm, you know, not surprised.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Blue Mercury spotted this brand a couple of years ago and put it, you know, um, in their Conscious Beauty program.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: And they've been great partners ever since.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: So um I would definitely check out their best sellers like Peony Pop and Vertical Oud.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Um, but again, available in most of your local Blue Mercury's.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: Love that.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: Now, next one, guys, everyone listening, Libra is next.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: Let's learn all about Libra.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Wonderful.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: So Libras are known to be sociable, enigmatic, um, and you know, wanting whatever they do to be just and right.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Um, so for this brand, I picked um Etat Libre D'Arange.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: And this is a really fun brand out of Paris.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: And, you know, everything about them is um sociable and enigmatic, are the perfect words for the faces behind this brand.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: So um Etienne de Soie is this um delightful Frenchman who is um the founder of the brand.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: And anyone who meets him or knows him falls in love with him.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I I thought of him when I when I thought of a Libra because it's people who I just feel like want to be happy, have a good time, not take things so seriously, but at the same time are a really good person.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's why I picked a tat.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: And I think um it's done this really unique thing where they've never gone so hyper niche that it's not accessible and they've never sold themselves out and went with the easy route of being everywhere.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: So they've somehow kept their like cool Parisian factor while growing their success every year.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Um, but they've just they've done it really authentically.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: So this is again one of those brands where if you're like, I don't want to smell like everyone.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Um to try.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: That's really cool.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I love that you know so many of the stories behind these brands because that's really where it's at.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: I feel like, you know, in terms of like connecting to a fragrance.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: Like for me, that's so important because I think about it when I spray on the fragrance, you know, like I'll be thinking about the brand and where it comes from.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: So that's really, really cool.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: Um, so Libras, definitely go pick that one up.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Now, next one is my sign, Scorpio.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: Yes, I am a Scorpio thrown through November 15th.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: I was born in the middle of the freaking season.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: So I literally were like, kid you not, I have every trait that's ever listed about a Scorpio.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: So the well, I listed elusive, mysterious, and courageous.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: But what do you think are the key traits of a Scorpio?
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: I think that that's that's very, very true.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: We can be elusive, uh, mysterious, definitely.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: But I think that we're very like kind of like go-getters.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: Like we don't take no for an answer.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: We're very like, we're we can be very intense.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: Also, trust is a huge thing with us.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: It's like if you trust somebody, you trust them, and if they betray you, like that's like game over.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: So Scorpios are very, in my opinion, black and white.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: They're very black and white.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: And so that's how I am.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: That's a lot of my friends, like my fiancés of Scorpio.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: That's what I've noticed is that we're very passionate people.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: We're very um, you know, just we want something that's going to last rather than we're like, you know, quality over quantity kind of people.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: So that's really what I think.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, well, then I 100% picked the right brand and product.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Um, everything you were just saying solidifies my choice.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: So I picked Nassamato.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: Um, more specifically, the bottle that I picked was Black Afghan.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: So Nassamato is a brand out of Florence, Italy.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: Um, the the creator is this gentleman named Alessandro, and he is all the things you just mentioned: intense, creative, a go-getter.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Um, very, very much all those things.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: And this particular fragrance, you were just saying, you know, you want things that are in it for the long haul.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: This fragrance is in it for the long haul from a perspective that it's going to last.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: Um, so black Afghan, like if you are in that world of like fragrance, and you know, we call we call this community we're all in, like we're frag heads.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: If you're in that world, you know black Afgano.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: It's a it's a really famous fragrance.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Um, it's known for being out there, but beautiful.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's got some crazy ingredients and notes in it that you can research, but to list a few, we're talking about things like cannabis and and smoke and spices and things like this.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Um, but each cap is an absolute piece of art.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: We're talking about different types of wood cut in different shapes and different colors, and um, it is just a very immersive artistic brand that is unlike anything else on the market.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: So it is spinning of you um very special people that fall into this Scorpio group.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: And you're right, the the packaging and the look of the bottle is so cool.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: I absolutely love it.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, it's a really, really cool look.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: So I'm definitely gonna be buying that, by the way.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: I'm just letting you know.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: It's such a good one, such a good one.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: So the last one we have is Sagittarius.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: And this is actually also very close to me personally, because a lot of people in my life are uh Sagittarius people.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: So I'd love to learn about what traits you picked for this one and why you picked this.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Fun.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: So Sagittarius, you know, what what I kind of researched on um this group is that they tend to have a very youthful flair which draws people to them.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: Um, and you know, as you've heard from everything else I've mentioned, I'm I I get very involved with knowing who the founders and creative directors are of this brand because I think that sets the tone for everything.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: Um, and what I listed here for the um Sagittarius was Will Germain.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: So, first of all, you most likely definitely never heard of this brand because it's pretty much brand new.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: And the name Wil Germain, um, some say Will Germain, either one, um, is the two words blended together, uh Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and Saint Germain, Paris.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: Giving you Yeah.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: So, um, and the founder behind it, uh Francisco, is this what I feel a youthful flair that draws people to him.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Um, he is again a seasoned vet in the perfume world and spent so many years building other people's brands and finally was like, you know what, I'm gonna do something for myself.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: Um, and he teamed up with a dear friend of his who just happens to be Rodrigo Flores, which is one of the best perfumers out there, um, VP of fragrance at Gibbon, which is this, you know, international fragrance house.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: And together they are just such a delightful duo that you want to be around them.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: And that makes you drawn to the brand.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: And when you're with them and you're seeing this brand through their eyes, no detail is not thought about.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: So the caps on the bottle um are actually designed to emulate the bolts that are keeping together both the Eiffel Tower and the Brooklyn Bridge.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Um, little things like that are just so thoughtful and special.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: And then the fragrances are made by, you know, one of the best perfumers out there.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: So you're getting what I feel like, you know, an insane value because these fragrances smell like some of the fragrances that are going for three, four hundred dollars.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: And these are the$220 range.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's so cool.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: And I love that.
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: I love that, you know, there's like this idea of like blending two cultures here, you know, with this one.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: Like it's like that's really interesting.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: And I've been really getting into that, Marcel, like the cultural aspect of fragrance.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: So I absolutely love like how you explain that.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: That's really, really cool.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: Well, that was it then.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: That was all the signs.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: That was really good.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Speed dating we did.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: That was really cool.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I loved it.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: And you know what?
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: I'm a huge fan of everything you put out.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: So, everyone listening, if you are on LinkedIn, you will need to follow um Marissa and her last name is spelled A-U-C-I-E-L-L-O.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: And you need to follow her because she she posts these wonderful graphics of different perfumes and they're related to like celebrities, or they'll be, you know, she'll have like a mood board kind of going.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: And it's so cool.
- 30:50SPEAKER_02: It's such a cool concept.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: And I learned so much from all of her posts.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: So I really encourage you guys, like, you know, definitely check her uh her post out.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: And obviously, you know, this was amazing, Marissa.
