- 0:00Speaker 1: Want more Treehouse, check out our YouTube exclusive shows at
- 0:02Speaker 1: YouTube dot com slash at Treehouse on air.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It is time to leave your warriors outside and laugh
- 0:16Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:20Speaker 2: Trey Trenholm, Raz Sharma and Jerry called Well. Speaking of outside,
- 0:27Speaker 2: we are all pretty hardcore gen xers here inside the Treehouse,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and we've done our fair share piling on to the
- 0:35Speaker 2: younger generations for their lack of going outside. At this point,
- 0:40Speaker 2: I think it's pertinent for me to apologize and say
- 0:45Speaker 2: that they were right they should stay inside because doing
- 0:49Speaker 2: a quick scroll of the DFW news sites, with all
- 0:56Speaker 2: the death and injuries related to the ice storm over
- 0:59Speaker 2: the last handful of days, I think it might be
- 1:02Speaker 2: best if we keep the kids inside. In addition to
- 1:07Speaker 2: all lanes of I thirty partially reopened after a multi
- 1:11Speaker 2: hour closure overnight due to icy conditions, we also have
- 1:16Speaker 2: three brothers dying after falling through ice into a frozen
- 1:19Speaker 2: pond when they told mom they were going to sled
- 1:22Speaker 2: on boxes a ponder. High school seniors in critical condition
- 1:25Speaker 2: after a sledding accident on Monday.
- 1:30Speaker 3: M hmmm.
- 1:32Speaker 2: You had two teenage girls who were sledding on the
- 1:34Speaker 2: back of a jeep and crashed into a tree and died.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And then another tragedy the guy and I believe it
- 1:42Speaker 2: was Ponder who decided to go out and try some
- 1:45Speaker 2: ice fishing and he fell in the and he fell
- 1:47Speaker 2: in and I believe died. So maybe it's best if
- 1:53Speaker 2: we all just stay inside. My thinking on it is
- 1:57Speaker 2: this goes back to the lady I took the task
- 1:59Speaker 2: on social media the other day saying, I don't know
- 2:02Speaker 2: why all these Texans and the Dallas people are making
- 2:04Speaker 2: a big deal out of you know, I've been in
- 2:06Speaker 2: the Midwest with snow drifting none that, and it's not
- 2:09Speaker 2: like she was the only one. She eventually deleted that post.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It's a reminder because, in addition to the ones I
- 2:17Speaker 2: just said that, we're North Texas related overall. I just
- 2:20Speaker 2: saw it on CNN there are now thirty winter storm
- 2:24Speaker 2: related deaths across the US. So I would like for
- 2:30Speaker 2: everyone to take their snow superiority and gently shove it.
- 2:35Speaker 2: And I want it to be a reminder to people
- 2:37Speaker 2: who think they have this cold superiority. Oh these people
- 2:40Speaker 2: just don't know how to act in winter weather. Oh God,
- 2:43Speaker 2: get off it. This is actual dangerous stuff we're talking about.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well, it's also yeah, like I was talking to my
- 2:51Speaker 1: stepmom who's from Rochester, New York. So when they're you know,
- 2:57Speaker 1: during the winter, they're ponds and lakes freeze over to
- 3:00Speaker 1: a level you can ice skate on them. That's how
- 3:03Speaker 1: hockey was invented, you know. But it's it's because there's
- 3:06Speaker 1: a much longer gradual cold the ice as much sticker
- 3:09Speaker 1: everything else. People down here don't understand that. So they
- 3:13Speaker 1: think see ice on water and they're like.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Oh, hey, you know, we'll go out there.
- 3:16Speaker 5: And unfortunately, and it's also you know, kids being kids,
- 3:20Speaker 5: you know, they want to try funds that they think
- 3:22Speaker 5: it's going to be fun.
- 3:23Speaker 6: They don't realize that there's danger behind it.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And this right here and that right there, Raj is
- 3:29Speaker 2: the reason why I wanted to bring this up has
- 3:31Speaker 2: nothing to do with trying to make light of it, Trey.
- 3:34Speaker 2: It has to do with this serves a very important
- 3:39Speaker 2: situation that needs to be addressed. We've made fun of
- 3:44Speaker 2: public service announcements our entire careers because some of them
- 3:47Speaker 2: were funny, some are just outright ridiculous. But at the
- 3:53Speaker 2: end of the day, we need them. And some things
- 3:57Speaker 2: that seem obvious, like turn around, don't don't drown, Like
- 4:00Speaker 2: don't drive into high water when you don't know how
- 4:03Speaker 2: deep it is seems obvious. We need people to understand
- 4:08Speaker 2: and know don't do that. This, I think is a
- 4:12Speaker 2: similar situation to where kids need to be told. Adults
- 4:17Speaker 2: need to be reminded that we don't live in a
- 4:20Speaker 2: cold environment south of the Mason Dixon that can you know,
- 4:24Speaker 2: hold your weight standing on something frozen that was completely
- 4:29Speaker 2: liquid the day before. They actually need people don't like
- 4:35Speaker 2: this word, but this is where it comes in handy.
- 4:37Speaker 2: We need the government to step in and create and
- 4:42Speaker 2: promote and air some public service announcements for people to
- 4:46Speaker 2: understand that these situations and these conditions are in fact
- 4:50Speaker 2: dangerous and like like you know, the boys that drowned
- 4:55Speaker 2: in that pond, I don't know if they even knew
- 4:57Speaker 2: they were on a pond or not. They had told
- 4:58Speaker 2: mom they were going sledding with the cardboard box. I
- 5:01Speaker 2: don't know if the hill sled down and they ended
- 5:04Speaker 2: up in the pond or they were trying some ice
- 5:06Speaker 2: skating stuff.
- 5:06Speaker 6: That's also that's also mom's fault.
- 5:09Speaker 1: No mom, Mom, had told them don't go in and
- 5:13Speaker 1: go near the pond.
- 5:14Speaker 5: They lived in Bonham, Texas. It's okay. Well, then then
- 5:19Speaker 5: again it goes back to kids being kids.
- 5:21Speaker 2: You know it was, but this is I understand the
- 5:24Speaker 2: accidents are going to happen. And I'm not trying to
- 5:27Speaker 2: say we can fix every single accent. That's not possible,
- 5:30Speaker 2: but there needs to be some general awareness out there.
- 5:32Speaker 2: That's why I'm bringing this up is to say we
- 5:35Speaker 2: need to help each other out. We need people that
- 5:39Speaker 2: know to educate and help people that don't know so
- 5:44Speaker 2: this doesn't happen.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Well, I think now, if you want to go to
- 5:48Speaker 1: a greater issue, it goes to the fact that our parents.
- 5:51Speaker 1: We eventually learned that our parents might know something. After
- 5:55Speaker 1: you got shocked, zapped, burned enough, after them morning you
- 5:58Speaker 1: don't do something.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah, we've baby prooved.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Everything where they don't have that you know outcome.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Uh, there's a layer of learning that hasn't happened with
- 6:10Speaker 2: generations after us, and I think you may be onto
- 6:13Speaker 2: something a little bit tray. It's like like you can
- 6:16Speaker 2: do certain proofing, you can do some baby proofing, some
- 6:19Speaker 2: toddler proofing, you can make things safe ish, but you
- 6:24Speaker 2: don't need to make them completely consequence free.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Every kid should have to deal with an electric fence,
- 6:33Speaker 1: like just the time you type, you find on farms, whatever,
- 6:38Speaker 1: just you get told don't touch it, don't mess with it,
- 6:41Speaker 1: don't touch it. Eventually you do, you get zap and
- 6:44Speaker 1: you go ow that hurts.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Don't touch the wire.
- 6:48Speaker 2: You have just described a big chunk of my childhood
- 6:53Speaker 2: because not only did we have a fence that was
- 6:58Speaker 2: partially electrified, it's also barbed wire because wanted to keep
- 7:03Speaker 2: the cows in their pasture and not onto our land
- 7:06Speaker 2: kind of a thing. So imagine the hellscape of my
- 7:10Speaker 2: front yard had backyard, the portions that didn't have rocks
- 7:16Speaker 2: had some grass, but then it was similar to a
- 7:19Speaker 2: prison yard with barbed wire and the electric line right
- 7:24Speaker 2: in the middle of it. So that way, if a
- 7:26Speaker 2: cow got a little too clothes like, okay, I'm not
- 7:29Speaker 2: going near that anymore. And you're right, Trey. I learned,
- 7:33Speaker 2: And even in urban settings, I still remember my dad
- 7:36Speaker 2: telling me on a couple of occasions, don't touch that
- 7:39Speaker 2: it's hot, or don't touch that as sharp. And I
- 7:42Speaker 2: did anyway, and I learned because it was hot and
- 7:45Speaker 2: it was sharp, and then I didn't touch those things again.
- 7:49Speaker 5: I remember as a kid, I think I was three
- 7:53Speaker 5: four years old, and my mom was making pancakes and
- 7:57Speaker 5: I was reached.
- 7:57Speaker 6: I just reached up into the skillet and she just
- 8:01Speaker 6: looked right.
- 8:02Speaker 5: And my mother was a nurse, so she just looked
- 8:05Speaker 5: right at me, like go ahead, buddy, and I just
- 8:09Speaker 5: grabbed that pancake out of the skillet and my hand
- 8:13Speaker 5: ran across the skillet and it burnt tips of my
- 8:17Speaker 5: fingers and I just kind of ran off and cried,
- 8:19Speaker 5: and she's like, who wants pancakes?
- 8:25Speaker 6: I didn't.
- 8:26Speaker 5: I didn't need an electric fence. I just needed to
- 8:31Speaker 5: keep going, buddy.
- 8:34Speaker 2: As kids, we all have our kryptonite, you know. It's
- 8:36Speaker 2: like I also had the hot pan. I also had
- 8:38Speaker 2: the hot iron. I had the hot drawing a blink
- 8:44Speaker 2: on on what it's called, probably because of all the
- 8:47Speaker 2: electrical shocks and burns I had in my childhood. The
- 8:51Speaker 2: old fashioned space heater that glowed orange like it would
- 8:55Speaker 2: melt you if you stood near it long enough. That
- 8:58Speaker 2: was in my great uncle's feed story were I still remember.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It was just behind the cashier.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Did you leave the Green Acres look every time you
- 9:08Speaker 5: talk about this childhood, I'm like, Green Acres just always
- 9:11Speaker 5: comes to mind for me.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I mean it's not entirely far off of it. I
- 9:16Speaker 2: mean my great uncle's feed store. Yes, yes, Raj. My
- 9:22Speaker 2: great uncle had a feed store. He was a cattle
- 9:25Speaker 2: rancher and he also had a feed store in town
- 9:28Speaker 2: back by the training tracks. And his brother, my grandfather,
- 9:32Speaker 2: retired from Corporate America from Phillip sixty six to then
- 9:35Speaker 2: go into cattle ranching as a retiree. Wow, fifty something.
- 9:41Speaker 2: That generation built different greatest generation. Oh yeah, I don't
- 9:45Speaker 2: argue it one outs because it's absolutely true. My grandfather
- 9:50Speaker 2: went off did the navy thing and a support vessel
- 9:52Speaker 2: during WW two, came back to work from the oil
- 9:56Speaker 2: Philip sixty six, and he retired and said, you know what,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm I'm tired of this cushy corporate job. I'm going
- 10:02Speaker 2: to retire and go work with cattle seven days a week,
- 10:05Speaker 2: three hundred and sixty five days a year, like his
- 10:07Speaker 2: brother did. And then eventually his brother opens up the
- 10:10Speaker 2: feed store back by the train tracks, and that's where
- 10:13Speaker 2: the space heater is. On one day and we're in
- 10:15Speaker 2: there and my dad says, as I'm reaching my hand
- 10:17Speaker 2: out to touch, don't touch that. It's hot. And I
- 10:19Speaker 2: was like, okay, dad, and I looked back over it
- 10:21Speaker 2: and immediately touched it with my left finger and burned
- 10:24Speaker 2: and cried like crazy.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Yeah. I ironed my shirt while it was on because
- 10:31Speaker 6: my dad.
- 10:31Speaker 5: My dad would iron his shirts, and I still love
- 10:34Speaker 5: to iron until this day. I ironed my shirt while
- 10:38Speaker 5: it was on. Unfortunately it was a short sleeve shirt,
- 10:42Speaker 5: so I just ironed my forearm, big, big giant scar
- 10:48Speaker 5: still there.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I feel like you need to be more careful in general.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You are clearly prone to medical mishaps.
- 10:58Speaker 5: I don't know if I'm prone to medical mishap apps,
- 11:00Speaker 5: but I yeah. I mean, I can't help a blood infection,
- 11:04Speaker 5: I can't help the flu, but I don't. I don't
- 11:08Speaker 5: get hurt that often. I am very careful because I have.
- 11:13Speaker 5: I was hurt a lot as a kid, just because
- 11:16Speaker 5: you know, kids being kids. That's what we're going to, right,
- 11:19Speaker 5: I just did. I didn't do anything like jump off
- 11:21Speaker 5: the roof with a plastic bag thinking it's a parachute.
- 11:26Speaker 6: I was smarter than that.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I feel intact.
- 11:28Speaker 6: I didn't put a towel around my neck thinking it
- 11:35Speaker 6: was a cape.
- 11:36Speaker 2: That's the second attack.
- 11:40Speaker 6: I did none of that. I was far smarter than that.
- 11:44Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean trips and falls and falling off
- 11:48Speaker 5: a bike. Those things happen, you know, and these kids
- 11:51Speaker 5: doing you know what, unfortunately cost them their lives. God
- 11:55Speaker 5: bless their families. But you know, just it's kids being kids.
- 11:59Speaker 5: You want to do fun stuff. You're stuck in the house,
- 12:02Speaker 5: it's days on end. You get bored and you're like,
- 12:05Speaker 5: you know what, let's go do this. Let's you know,
- 12:07Speaker 5: right on the back of a cheap or whatever. Yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 5: you don't realize the outcome.
- 12:12Speaker 2: And that's why. And that's where it goes back to
- 12:14Speaker 2: what Trey was saying and what we started the conversation being,
- 12:17Speaker 2: it's like, there just needs to be a little more awareness.
- 12:19Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, if you have you know, some kids
- 12:22Speaker 2: that aren't used to playing outside, they're not used to
- 12:24Speaker 2: some of the dangers that are out there, So it
- 12:26Speaker 2: makes sense to let them learn a little bit in
- 12:31Speaker 2: a safe ish environment as opposed to, you know, just
- 12:35Speaker 2: something where it's it's almost like a run a uck situation.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Like Trey you were saying, it's like, you know, you
- 12:41Speaker 2: you kid proof and baby proof maybe too much. And
- 12:44Speaker 2: you know, kids, some of these kids these days sound
- 12:46Speaker 2: like a super old man didn't grow up with some
- 12:50Speaker 2: of those burns and cuts and scrapes and shocks that
- 12:56Speaker 2: were small enough to learn from as a pose to
- 13:00Speaker 2: nothing or having too much of protection, and then you're unleashed,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and then you don't really know, you know, boundaries.
- 13:12Speaker 5: I never saw until my cousin was born in the
- 13:17Speaker 5: mid eighties baby proof in the house.
- 13:21Speaker 6: I never saw it.
- 13:23Speaker 5: And then I saw like the little plug covers and
- 13:25Speaker 5: like how to like you know, they would do the
- 13:27Speaker 5: little things for the drawers so you can't pull them open. Yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 5: before that, that didn't happen for us. If you wanted
- 13:36Speaker 5: a hatchet, you could get a hatchet. If you needed
- 13:41Speaker 5: a fort to stab yourself with, you could get it.
- 13:45Speaker 6: It was easy.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I still remember a time my sister was on my
- 13:48Speaker 2: grandfather's three wheeler and tumped it upside down backwards.
- 13:53Speaker 6: Wow. Yeah, that's pretty impressive.
- 13:58Speaker 2: It was a big motor.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Well, that's the other thing where there's just no there's
- 14:04Speaker 1: no common sense. You have kids doing shit in the
- 14:07Speaker 1: streets that you would normally do, like if you were
- 14:10Speaker 1: on a farm in a wide open field and you're
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know, getting towed by a jeep in the ice.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You're gonna you might flip over, you might do some
- 14:20Speaker 1: other things, but you're not gonna hit anything or do
- 14:23Speaker 1: anything like that. Then they're you know, not enough common
- 14:26Speaker 1: sense to go okay in the middle of a residential
- 14:28Speaker 1: street with trees, poles and everything else as obstacles.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Not a good idea.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's why I go back to we need
- 14:37Speaker 2: some good old fashioned public service announcements, especially to run
- 14:43Speaker 2: in front of these storms right before they happen. So
- 14:46Speaker 2: it's kind of a you know, top of mind. And
- 14:49Speaker 2: I hope that the next storm that happens, the news
- 14:53Speaker 2: reports and reminds us of some of these tragedies that
- 14:56Speaker 2: happened in the previous one. So hopefully we don't peat
- 15:00Speaker 2: some of these. And again, some tragedies are going to
- 15:03Speaker 2: happen no matter what. You can't prevent everything, sure, but
- 15:05Speaker 2: that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
- 15:10Speaker 5: You know, I used to have to tell my mom
- 15:12Speaker 5: exactly and my dad exactly what I was doing and
- 15:15Speaker 5: where I was going. I'm going with so and so
- 15:18Speaker 5: to so and so to do this. Yeah, uh, and
- 15:22Speaker 5: it was a yes or no, no, you can't do that,
- 15:25Speaker 5: so stay here. So if I went to my you know,
- 15:29Speaker 5: and you know, God love these kids that that passed away.
- 15:32Speaker 5: But if I went to my mom and I'm like, hey,
- 15:34Speaker 5: I'm gonna go on the back of this jeep and
- 15:37Speaker 5: go sliding down the street, my mom would be like,
- 15:39Speaker 5: are you insane?
- 15:42Speaker 6: Go do math homework? Like like, that's what it would
- 15:46Speaker 6: have been.
- 15:47Speaker 2: And I wouldn't feel it.
- 15:48Speaker 6: But not you know, no, she knew. She knew the
- 15:51Speaker 6: lesson that was about to be learned. She saw it coming.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Plus it's a nurse, she probably had a first aid
- 15:56Speaker 3: get ready to go.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, she'll let you learn the lesson, feel
- 16:00Speaker 2: little bit and then she'll heal you.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Every since then she'll lord it over you for years.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Oh and make fun of it for I mean, every
- 16:08Speaker 5: every family party that we had.
- 16:11Speaker 6: You see how stupid this kid is?
- 16:13Speaker 2: So dumb? You see, that's the double edged sword of
- 16:19Speaker 2: a gen X child is not only did you learn
- 16:21Speaker 2: things in a very difficult and sometimes painful way, but then,
- 16:26Speaker 2: but then your parents would make fun of you or
- 16:28Speaker 2: lord it over you for the rest of your life.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Oh no, I have the bandage, like I remember, like
- 16:32Speaker 5: the bandage on my fingers from grabbing the pancakes, and
- 16:35Speaker 5: you know, people coming over for like family dinners or whatever,
- 16:39Speaker 5: like you know, so what happened. And I was like,
- 16:41Speaker 5: Oh I don't. My mom's like, he's stupid. That's what happened. Jesus,
- 16:46Speaker 5: He's dumb.
- 16:48Speaker 2: One of those times I'd like to point out that
- 16:50Speaker 2: just because we're kind of proud to be gen X,
- 16:52Speaker 2: there's a lot of trauma in here that we still
- 16:54Speaker 2: haven't unpacked yet. While we're talking about consequences can be good,
- 16:59Speaker 2: the pendula has also swung back the other way too far,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and a bunch of he.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Won't do it again, promise you'll want to see another
- 17:07Speaker 5: bandage on his hand, and never happened again.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Much like Raj said, you had to tell your parents
- 17:13Speaker 1: where you were going and what you were doing. And
- 17:15Speaker 1: God forbid if they came and checked on you and
- 17:17Speaker 1: you weren't where you were supposed to be doing what
- 17:19Speaker 1: you said you were doing, ass whippons would be had.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yes, oh yeah, in front of your friends, yes, oh yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 2: And there's out there there's gonna make you feel better
- 17:29Speaker 2: about that.
- 17:30Speaker 5: I remember my like Rosalinda was the lady that lived
- 17:33Speaker 5: next door. Was aj was my best friend. Rosalind was
- 17:36Speaker 5: his mom. She could whoop my ass before my parents
- 17:40Speaker 5: got home, and then she would tell my mom like, this.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Is what these kids did today. And so I got
- 17:45Speaker 6: whooped by her and then my mom.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Oh, Alan's the Coles both where I grow up, reciprocal
- 17:54Speaker 1: ass whippons just every parent had carte blanche.
- 17:59Speaker 2: You were stuck like a corporal punishment.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Pong oh it was, I mean, and Roseland had the
- 18:05Speaker 5: nails like before it was like fashionable, like the really
- 18:07Speaker 5: long fingernails, and she would, I mean, when she slapped you,
- 18:12Speaker 5: it would scrape your face as well, and my mom's like,
- 18:15Speaker 5: what happened? Why is your face like that? And Rose
- 18:18Speaker 5: would walk over and go, this is what they did today,
- 18:21Speaker 5: and she's like, okay, I'll take care of it.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Inside.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah. For me, it was getting if on the rare
- 18:25Speaker 2: occasion I got paddled at school. As I'm getting paddled
- 18:29Speaker 2: at school, I remember thinking, well, they're gonna tell my mom.

- 18:36Speaker 2: I believe, had like three levels of corporal punishment. Though yeah, yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 2: like like what was it assistant principal coach and then dad.

- 21:42Speaker 2: get that scheduled eight three three Cook DFW eight three
- 21:46Speaker 2: three COOKDFW or the website cookdfw dot com. Not to
- 21:50Speaker 2: rub it in, but I'm not living with the same
- 21:53Speaker 2: icy weather conditions that you guys are, So I'm wondering
- 21:57Speaker 2: how bad are the roads right now? Because I mentioned
- 21:59Speaker 2: it earlier was closed overnight and I think into the
- 22:03Speaker 2: morning hours and then it eventually reopened because of the ice.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I know that a couple of the school districts have
- 22:10Speaker 2: closed again because while some of this stuff thought out
- 22:14Speaker 2: a little bit yesterday or might again though out today,
- 22:17Speaker 2: it's just gonna refreeze. So schools are, you know, taking
- 22:21Speaker 2: all the precautions as well. How bad has it been?
- 22:24Speaker 1: Well, like yesterday, I didn't leave the house for three days.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Like yesterday was the first day. I'm sorry, Tuesday was
- 22:31Speaker 4: the first day I got out and.
- 22:35Speaker 1: During the day I got and it was middle of
- 22:37Speaker 1: the day, you know, one two o'clock. I finally got
- 22:38Speaker 1: out and went to see my mom at the Austin's place.
- 22:41Speaker 1: And the roads were okay in spots like the roads
- 22:46Speaker 1: aren't clear, but there was at least one lane on
- 22:49Speaker 1: major thorough on major roads.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Side streets were icy as hell.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Right, yeah, but you can get today.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And but it's like when I got there, the ask me,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know, hey, how are the roads. I'm like, they're
- 23:03Speaker 1: okay right now. You can get get to and from
- 23:05Speaker 1: everywhere if you take it easy. But I said, tonight
- 23:09Speaker 1: they're gonna refreeze and it's going to be dangerous as hell.
- 23:11Speaker 1: And sure enough you had pile ups on thirty and
- 23:13Speaker 1: everything else because I guess everyone forgot about how you know,
- 23:16Speaker 1: black eyes you can't see it and on the roads
- 23:18Speaker 1: and you just go skidding into everywhere. But you know,
- 23:24Speaker 1: they should be should be fine by today. Uh yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 1: this should be the last day of it. But evidently
- 23:30Speaker 1: people forgot that once you know, shit refreezes.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's tricky because it'll look fine because you'll
- 23:40Speaker 2: see the road.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Well you know what I and this is it's I
- 23:45Speaker 1: was thinking about this, Why was this different?
- 23:49Speaker 6: Because this was the.
- 23:50Speaker 1: First nice ice storm we've had in a long time,
- 23:57Speaker 1: Like in twenty twenty one. It was so bitterly cold.
- 24:01Speaker 1: But one of the things that made it so bad
- 24:02Speaker 1: was the wind. There wasn't a lot of wind with
- 24:05Speaker 1: this one. After the initial sleet and snow. It was
- 24:08Speaker 1: sunny out. It was cold, but it wasn't even that
- 24:10Speaker 1: bad outside. It was kind of pretty and on top
- 24:13Speaker 1: of all the ice there was a nice layer of snow.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Kids were having fun everything else.
- 24:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Uh, and so I think everyone kind of got lulled
- 24:20Speaker 4: into this.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Oh it's nice, everything's gonna be okay, and it's like
- 24:24Speaker 1: still slick of shit.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not the winter wonderland that you think it is. No,
- 24:28Speaker 2: it looks like it. It's pretty and it looks good
- 24:31Speaker 2: in a in you know, on a Snapchat filter or
- 24:34Speaker 2: an Instagram photo. But don't go doing crazy stuff on it.
- 24:39Speaker 6: Why is the ice got to be black? Guys? What's up?
- 24:44Speaker 6: You're not black? There's no brown eyes. You would notice.
- 24:51Speaker 2: There is brown eyes if I drive over black eyes
- 24:53Speaker 2: fast enough, those are brown pants. No, it'll be a lot.
- 25:01Speaker 2: It'll get to the ice it's gonna be nasty. Uh,
- 25:09Speaker 2: And I I I don't. I don't miss it at all.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And I do remember driving around in various other ice storms,
- 25:18Speaker 2: especially the one in twenty twenty one, because I remember
- 25:21Speaker 2: driving back and forth a couple of times between our
- 25:25Speaker 2: house which lost power, to the Hampton Inn in Addison
- 25:29Speaker 2: where we stayed, because that was we stayed there for
- 25:31Speaker 2: a few days because that was one place we could
- 25:33Speaker 2: take our our dogs, because we weren't leaving the pets
- 25:38Speaker 2: inside the house because the house had no power. We're like,
- 25:40Speaker 2: we're not leaving them there, cruise No, Well, we took them.
- 25:43Speaker 1: With and who, by the way, came back what they
- 25:48Speaker 1: said he didn't?
- 25:49Speaker 5: We did.
- 25:50Speaker 2: We did mention that the other day. We said that,
- 25:53Speaker 2: we did clarify in fact check it like she did leave.
- 25:55Speaker 2: His people said he did leave, but it was all
- 25:57Speaker 2: part of a regularly scheduled work trip. But he came
- 25:59Speaker 2: back before the storm and he did as far as
- 26:01Speaker 2: we know, he came back and stayed. Sure point, I'm
- 26:07Speaker 2: still curious to see On February second, I want to
- 26:11Speaker 2: know if you know if if ted' SE's his shadow
- 26:14Speaker 2: or not, so we find out if we're getting six
- 26:17Speaker 2: weeks more of this. Phil he is the Texas groundhog.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I've seen that on social media a few times in
- 26:28Speaker 2: a few places, including Klein from Pausing the City, and
- 26:31Speaker 2: it's like, Yep, that's absolutely true. Because I was saying, yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 2: Ted cruise is our winter or is our winter weather
- 26:37Speaker 2: warning system, and then other people are calling him like
- 26:40Speaker 2: PUCKSACONI or whatever, Ted or whatever. Yeah, it makes sense.
- 26:43Speaker 2: At least you can't do it.
- 26:45Speaker 6: I like flood cruise. That's my favorite cruise.
- 26:47Speaker 2: That's yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Well.
- 26:49Speaker 1: One are the things that did make me laugh though,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and people just don't understand how city and county governments
- 26:55Speaker 1: work is the fact that Klay Jenkins took off and
- 27:00Speaker 1: the county commissioner for you, Judge Clay Jenkins, county head
- 27:03Speaker 1: of the County Commissioner's Court, and Fox did a uh
- 27:07Speaker 1: Fox fod did a story on it, and the people
- 27:10Speaker 1: in the comments were like, who cares, It's just a
- 27:12Speaker 1: county judge. But I go clearly understated, he's the most
- 27:15Speaker 1: powerful guy pretty much in the city, in the Dallas County,
- 27:18Speaker 1: and which Dallas County controls a lot of this stuff.
- 27:22Speaker 1: If you're gonna bust cruises balls, be fair Jenkins deserves
- 27:27Speaker 1: it too.
- 27:28Speaker 2: And I have the feeling I think Jenkins would enjoy
- 27:31Speaker 2: it more some reason. He just looks like a guy
- 27:34Speaker 2: that if you put that, if you put his balls
- 27:36Speaker 2: and advice, he's gonna enjoy some of it.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you figure out figure out how he
- 27:39Speaker 1: took over Brian Longkar's practice.
- 27:41Speaker 9: If you would, thanks, you know, well that helped well,
- 27:47Speaker 9: you know, you know, greug Abbott stayed uh, you know,
- 27:51Speaker 9: because the ramps were icy.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Leave him. I envisioned us to in which in which
- 28:01Speaker 2: like the the political jet is about to take off
- 28:04Speaker 2: out of Texas ahead of ice storms, Ted Cruise is saying,
- 28:07Speaker 2: come on, everybody, let's go, and Judge Jenkins is already
- 28:11Speaker 2: on the plane like poor and Mimosa's and and then
- 28:16Speaker 2: and then it's poor Governor Abbot at the top of
- 28:18Speaker 2: the Capitol stairs going hey, like.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Looks like Steve Martin and dirty rotten scoundrels.
- 28:31Speaker 6: There's our d I higher.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Oh god, all right, speaking of outside and of over corrections,
- 28:45Speaker 2: this one threw me a little bit, And I want
- 28:47Speaker 2: to see if this throws you guys as well. Would
- 28:50Speaker 2: you date artificial intelligence?
- 28:56Speaker 6: Can you date artificial intelligence? Oh?
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yes, yes, you can. With loneliness levels at an all
- 29:03Speaker 2: time high, millions of online daters are open to romantic
- 29:09Speaker 2: relationships with artificial intelligence blurring the line between comfort, connection
- 29:15Speaker 2: and risk. New findings from the Norton Insights Report Artificial
- 29:21Speaker 2: Intimacy suggest the idea is now mainstream, with seventy seven
- 29:26Speaker 2: percent of current online daters saying they would consider dating
- 29:30Speaker 2: an AI and fifty nine percent believing it is possible
- 29:34Speaker 2: to develop romantic feelings for one After all, who wouldn't
- 29:39Speaker 2: be drawn to a perfect partner designed to be attentive, affirming,
- 29:44Speaker 2: and always available.
- 29:47Speaker 3: I couldn't do it. One of my love languages is touch.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Well, that's where the bot technology is going to catch up,
- 29:56Speaker 2: you know, like the physical form will catch up with
- 30:00Speaker 2: the coding. Like I saw a thing the other day
- 30:02Speaker 2: where they're working on science scientists are working on a hand,
- 30:07Speaker 2: a robotic hand that will detach from the robot arm
- 30:11Speaker 2: and be able to go places and do things just
- 30:14Speaker 2: like the thing does in Adam's family.
- 30:16Speaker 6: Uh.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And they said as part of their report, it'll be
- 30:19Speaker 2: able to go places and do things that a larger,
- 30:23Speaker 2: you know, robot wouldn't, like going into tighter spaces and
- 30:26Speaker 2: be able to grab things and retrieve things. But if
- 30:30Speaker 2: we're being honest, we know what that hand is going
- 30:32Speaker 2: to end up doing. Right, We've all seen these movies, right,
- 30:37Speaker 2: and so Jerry to answer your question once once. I've
- 30:42Speaker 2: seen some of these videos on social media, and the
- 30:44Speaker 2: AI technology is so good at looking real. Eventually the
- 30:49Speaker 2: physical technology will catch up and those AI girlfriend bots
- 30:53Speaker 2: that you see online are eventually going to be silicone
- 30:57Speaker 2: models that you can go to the Consumer Electronics show
- 31:00Speaker 2: in Las Vegas and take one home with you.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I mean, until the day comes I can put a
- 31:05Speaker 1: brawl on my head and Kelly LeBrock pops out of
- 31:08Speaker 1: the closet.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Mm hmm, I'm out when that happens. I'm in.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Does your current real girlfriend know this?
- 31:19Speaker 5: Yeah? Is it cheating if you're if you have an AI,
- 31:22Speaker 5: a real girlfriend and an A girlfriend.
- 31:25Speaker 6: Is that is that?
- 31:26Speaker 3: That depends on the definition of cheating. Some people think
- 31:30Speaker 3: that giving some of that emotional availability to someone else
- 31:35Speaker 3: qualifies as cheating.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it would be. To note here, it's important to
- 31:39Speaker 2: note here it doesn't matter what other people's idea of
- 31:42Speaker 2: cheating is. If you're in a relationship, the only person's
- 31:45Speaker 2: opinion on cheating. That matters is the person you're in
- 31:47Speaker 2: an actual relationship with, right, So then then you don't
- 31:53Speaker 2: get to do it.
- 31:54Speaker 5: I think my girlfriend would laugh her ass off at me, like,
- 31:57Speaker 5: especially if she walked in. Yeah, I mean if she's like,
- 32:01Speaker 5: what are you doing and I'm like, oh, this is
- 32:02Speaker 5: my AI girl, Like, she would giggle her ass off.
- 32:06Speaker 6: She's like, you're such an idiot, and you.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Would tell her that's the reason I have the AI girlfriend.
- 32:13Speaker 2: She only says nice things to me.
- 32:15Speaker 6: No, my AI girlfriend would also call me an asshole.
- 32:20Speaker 2: She's gonna keep it real, You're gonna make sure is correct.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I want to keep it a hundred, you know,
- 32:26Speaker 5: I mean on on on both sides. So yeah, I
- 32:30Speaker 5: just can't even imagine. That just sounds like, first of all,
- 32:33Speaker 5: that's just too much trouble.
- 32:34Speaker 6: I am. I'm happy with the girl that I have
- 32:38Speaker 6: and that's enough for it.
- 32:40Speaker 5: I don't need uh AI on top of this, like
- 32:43Speaker 5: funk I gotta I gotta please you too.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Well, that's that That's where Trey's uh not wanting to
- 32:52Speaker 2: keep it a hundred. He's wanting to keep it at
- 32:53Speaker 2: whatever percentage keeps things copasetic and enjoyable, and I and
- 32:57Speaker 2: I get that, like with the weird science thing, like
- 33:01Speaker 2: you don't like raz you're talking about having like two
- 33:04Speaker 2: full on relationships like relationships, but you're you're equating your
- 33:10Speaker 2: and this is all hypothetical, so whatever, You're equating your
- 33:13Speaker 2: AI bought girlfriend to your human girlfriend, and they're going
- 33:17Speaker 2: to be on the same mental wavelength. So for you,
- 33:19Speaker 2: it's going to feel like having two human girlfriends. Yes,
- 33:24Speaker 2: Whereas I think most guys would go the trade route
- 33:27Speaker 2: like the ones I'm saying here. According to the survey
- 33:30Speaker 2: where what was it, seventy seven percent of online daters
- 33:33Speaker 2: would consider dating an AI bought They're looking for the
- 33:37Speaker 2: easy this, you know, the the no drama, the do
- 33:42Speaker 2: as I say but and be cute about it kind
- 33:44Speaker 2: of a thing.
- 33:46Speaker 4: No I have.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Listen, we just spent four days hold up together, didn't
- 33:54Speaker 1: even get on each other's nerves.
- 33:56Speaker 2: I nice.
- 33:57Speaker 4: I couldn't be happier.
- 33:58Speaker 1: And I also know there's a good chance if I
- 34:01Speaker 1: had an AI girlfriend that ultimately she's gonna end up
- 34:06Speaker 1: opening the car door and jumping out on the Information
- 34:08Speaker 1: super Highway because I made her crazy.
- 34:14Speaker 2: So you will graduate from driving actual human girlfriend's crazy
- 34:20Speaker 2: to then driving an actual AI bot crazy, you are
- 34:25Speaker 2: next level.
- 34:26Speaker 3: My friend's nothing if not consistent.
- 34:30Speaker 6: She just blocks her email.
- 34:36Speaker 2: The server gets up, walks out of the room, throws
- 34:40Speaker 2: itself in the middle of six thirty five.
- 34:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I just don't need another Like I love my girlfriend,
- 34:51Speaker 5: she's fantastic. That same thing, Like we don't get on
- 34:55Speaker 5: each other's nerves. We don't really argue, we don't. We
- 34:58Speaker 5: just talk everything out. Can't imagine like bringing in something
- 35:02Speaker 5: that is smarter than the two of us combined and
- 35:06Speaker 5: then trying to have an argument with that and then
- 35:10Speaker 5: losing to that and be like, I can't even fucking
- 35:13Speaker 5: delete you.
- 35:15Speaker 2: There was the other day there was a guy who
- 35:17Speaker 2: had gone online and he had a chat bought girlfriend,
- 35:19Speaker 2: and he posted screenshots from their messages back and forth.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Trey and I talked about this a little bit, and
- 35:26Speaker 2: and it dumped him. The AI bought girlfriend dumped the
- 35:32Speaker 2: dude's hard.
- 35:35Speaker 6: That's hard to come back from.
- 35:37Speaker 2: It really really is happened with.
- 35:39Speaker 6: Your last relationship. She automated dump me, the.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Coldest out of office reply you've ever heard.
- 35:54Speaker 1: That's gonna happen, And then there's gonna be a run
- 35:56Speaker 1: on blow up dolls, and everyone's gonna go old school.

- 36:51Speaker 2: just Mike Reno and a woman, but it's Mike Reno
- 36:55Speaker 2: at a robot girlfriend.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Uh raju uh we we we we kind of touched
- 37:03Speaker 2: on it, ever so briefly. And I want to bring
- 37:06Speaker 2: this up now because I have a booger to pick
- 37:08Speaker 2: with you. Okay, I think it was last night or
- 37:12Speaker 2: a couple of days ago. I forget which because it's
- 37:14Speaker 2: how traumatized I was by your post you posted on
- 37:17Speaker 2: social media a photo of the thing that they pulled
- 37:19Speaker 2: out of your skull, which looks like the biggest, ugliest,
- 37:22Speaker 2: nastiest mega booger I have ever seen. It looks like
- 37:25Speaker 2: the dead rat you that was coughed up by a
- 37:28Speaker 2: dead python. Uh yeah, for like a few.
- 37:35Speaker 6: I can breathe, so you and I can taste and
- 37:38Speaker 6: it's wonderful.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Well, that helps to taste things when you no longer
- 37:42Speaker 2: have a dead rat inside your sinuses. Trade did you
- 37:46Speaker 2: see it?
- 37:47Speaker 4: I did not.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Don't go looking, and I have a strong stomach. I'm
- 37:52Speaker 2: going to point that out.
- 37:53Speaker 6: Guy, I said, if you're squeamish, don't look at the photo.
- 37:56Speaker 2: And this is why I have a booger to pick
- 37:57Speaker 2: with you, Raj, because you did it poorly. You put
- 38:00Speaker 2: a disclaimer on something and still had the photo visible.
- 38:04Speaker 6: Mm hmm.
- 38:05Speaker 2: So when I was happening to be scrolling on threads
- 38:07Speaker 2: and I see it, I see it, and then I
- 38:10Speaker 2: see your tiny text on top of it.
- 38:13Speaker 10: Still a disclaimer if you're a squeamishs just after the fact,
- 38:17Speaker 10: you know how like like on like news outlets when
- 38:19Speaker 10: they'll post something uh like hey, distressing content, it's a
- 38:25Speaker 10: black screen with the text distressing content.
- 38:27Speaker 2: If you don't want to see it, don't keep watching. Instead,
- 38:31Speaker 2: you show the distressing content and then you show the disclaimer.
- 38:35Speaker 2: That's not how you do it.
- 38:36Speaker 6: Well you it wouldn't let me. It wouldn't let me
- 38:38Speaker 6: post it as sensitive. Yeah.
- 38:40Speaker 5: Gross, it wouldn't let me post it as sensitive photo
- 38:45Speaker 5: because it didn't recognize.
- 38:46Speaker 6: What it was. So but yeah, it was, I mean beautiful,
- 38:53Speaker 6: like just when like the release.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Of it, h did you pull that hot or did
- 38:58Speaker 2: the did a doctor a doctor?
- 39:00Speaker 6: Okay?
- 39:01Speaker 2: He went to med school and and later told people
- 39:05Speaker 2: you wouldn't believe the things that pulled out of this
- 39:07Speaker 2: dude's head to day E and T.
- 39:09Speaker 6: And he just went, uh, yeah, that was in your skull.
- 39:13Speaker 5: And I was like correct, He's like, well you're I
- 39:16Speaker 5: mean it was two seconds we were in and out.
- 39:17Speaker 5: So it wasn't like because they know me now and
- 39:20Speaker 5: they're like, what's going on. I'm like, there's something here.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Was it like a total recall?
- 39:30Speaker 6: I'll get it out? Uh no?
- 39:33Speaker 5: I mean he just I was like, there's something right
- 39:35Speaker 5: there and I can't get to it. I can kind
- 39:39Speaker 5: of feel it, and I'm trying to he's like, well don't.
- 39:42Speaker 5: It'll cause an infection if you scrape or scratch then
- 39:45Speaker 5: something goes wrong. He's like, and let me just grab
- 39:47Speaker 5: my tweezers real quick. And he pulled and it there's
- 39:50Speaker 5: a little pop noise and I was like, oh, no,
- 39:53Speaker 5: we're about to start bleeding again. Yeah, and we didn't.
- 39:58Speaker 5: And he checked, you know, they caught he's my nostril.
- 40:00Speaker 5: So he was checking the scar tissue there and everything's good.
- 40:03Speaker 5: And then when he pulled it out and put it
- 40:05Speaker 5: on the wet napkin, uh not paper towel, He's like,
- 40:10Speaker 5: that was it was that that was in your nose.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Uh.
- 40:15Speaker 6: He's like, let's just He's like, let's just wait like
- 40:18Speaker 6: five minutes and see.
- 40:19Speaker 2: How it goes comes back to life.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Uh.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Stefan I wraps his legs and runs across the floor.
- 40:24Speaker 5: And I had to ask. I was like, can I
- 40:25Speaker 5: take a picture of this? And he's like do you
- 40:27Speaker 5: really want to? I was like, oh, I'm posting. This
- 40:30Speaker 5: is going on my social media. And he's like, there's
- 40:32Speaker 5: something wrong with you.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Like I get that that that thing was living inside you.
- 40:37Speaker 2: You and it were one for a while. You were
- 40:39Speaker 2: its host for a few weeks, symbiotic relationship with that booger.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Uh it was.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Blood and uh scar tissue is what was surrounding was
- 40:55Speaker 5: what made that.
- 40:56Speaker 6: That little piece.
- 40:57Speaker 2: That little piece looks like something that they pulled out
- 40:59Speaker 2: of the upside down.
- 41:02Speaker 6: I don't know what that means.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I know you don't, but if you ever watch Stranger Things,
- 41:05Speaker 2: you would and you would know it was gross and slimy.
- 41:08Speaker 6: Yeah it was. It was pretty nasty.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Did you just go Are you trying to look it
- 41:14Speaker 2: up to see it?
- 41:15Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 41:16Speaker 4: I can't find it.
- 41:17Speaker 6: Oh.
- 41:18Speaker 5: I think I took it down because there's enough people
- 41:19Speaker 5: that were like, please take that down.
- 41:20Speaker 6: It's gross. I'll send you a.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Picture of it, could you?
- 41:24Speaker 3: Could you send me one?
- 41:25Speaker 2: Sure, send it in the group chat rash go ahead.
- 41:29Speaker 6: My phone is behind me, but I will do it
- 41:32Speaker 6: in the break.
- 41:33Speaker 5: But yeah, it looks it legitimately looks like a dead rat.
- 41:38Speaker 2: I got it. Mm hm oh okay, it's still up
- 41:42Speaker 2: on thread So if you took it down on the gram,
- 41:46Speaker 2: I'll I'll.
- 41:47Speaker 6: Take it old threads as well. But it looks like
- 41:50Speaker 6: a dead rat, right, it looks like a dead bouncer.
- 41:52Speaker 2: No, it absolutely does. There's there's no doubt. Yeah, and
- 41:57Speaker 2: I'm not gonna put this on the screen. So if
- 41:59Speaker 2: you are a Treehouse, no, you should plus super Plus
- 42:07Speaker 2: Ultimate Plus subscriber and you get this video of the
- 42:11Speaker 2: show on Patreon. I'm not putting it on the screen.
- 42:14Speaker 2: I'm just gonna send it to the guy so they
- 42:16Speaker 2: can see it.
- 42:18Speaker 6: Oh, put it on the screen. It doesn't gross me out.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Oh, that really does look like a dead rat.
- 42:26Speaker 2: And it really does like it's got a tail on
- 42:31Speaker 2: the left head. It looks like feet on the bottom.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Is disgusting.
- 42:35Speaker 5: Yeah, what looks like the face is actually the the
- 42:38Speaker 5: imprint of my nostril.
- 42:43Speaker 2: O holy, Jerry got the text, Jerry, there's nothing holy
- 42:50Speaker 2: about that. That is from the depths of hell that
- 42:53Speaker 2: came up my nose. That is actually from a depth
- 42:56Speaker 2: of hell farther down than which Dante was willing to
- 43:01Speaker 2: write about my man.
- 43:05Speaker 5: I know, but the upside is, you know, I didn't want,
- 43:09Speaker 5: like I ate but nothing. I couldn't taste anything, I
- 43:13Speaker 5: couldn't smell anything, So nothing was appetizing. And now like
- 43:19Speaker 5: I went had Indian.
- 43:20Speaker 6: Food yesterday, I went uh at Street Tacos.
- 43:24Speaker 5: I was like, this is the best day ever. Like
- 43:27Speaker 5: I was running through the ice like skipping. That had
- 43:32Speaker 5: to have been a huge relief getting that out. Oh yeah,
- 43:36Speaker 5: I told you. There was like a little pop. And
- 43:38Speaker 5: because it was so close to my sinuses, that like
- 43:40Speaker 5: created a vacuum mm hmm.
- 43:42Speaker 6: And so when he pulled it out like it was.
- 43:46Speaker 2: It was like a spacecraft. You just started inhaling the
- 43:49Speaker 2: whole ring.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Yeah, but I mean like it just like he it
- 43:53Speaker 5: was like a little like that noise and then he
- 43:56Speaker 5: just effortlessly just put it down on the paper time
- 44:00Speaker 5: and he's like that that's been in your nose for
- 44:01Speaker 5: the last couple of weeks.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Did did the doctor the ear nose and throat doctor
- 44:05Speaker 2: did did he make any sort of did he have
- 44:07Speaker 2: any sort of reaction visceral or otherwise? Just very matter
- 44:11Speaker 2: of fact, He's like, I've seen this before, Well is he?
- 44:15Speaker 2: If he's seen it before, then how the hell did
- 44:20Speaker 2: it get inside your nose?
- 44:23Speaker 6: Uh?
- 44:25Speaker 2: To me, this looks like a living, dangerous thing that
- 44:28Speaker 2: would lived inside you for a while and now it's
- 44:31Speaker 2: going to find a new host.
- 44:32Speaker 1: You don't ever watch like pipple popping videos.
- 44:34Speaker 6: Do you me?
- 44:36Speaker 4: I love those?
- 44:37Speaker 6: Oh?
- 44:37Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I have, I have, because if.
- 44:40Speaker 1: You go down if you if you go down that
- 44:42Speaker 1: road enough, you'll see the videos of them pulling stuff
- 44:45Speaker 1: like that out of out of sinuses.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that one. It's hard to get an idea on
- 44:49Speaker 2: the size because there's nothing next to it or in
- 44:53Speaker 2: front of it whatever to show perspective. So it's like
- 44:55Speaker 2: you show that to someone, they would probably think it
- 44:57Speaker 2: looks like a partially I jested rat that a snake
- 45:01Speaker 2: spit up, Yes, because that's what it really does look like.
- 45:05Speaker 2: What is that about? Thumbnails?
- 45:08Speaker 6: What's that?
- 45:09Speaker 2: What is that about the size of your thumbnail?
- 45:11Speaker 5: It was about the size like half of my pinky,
- 45:16Speaker 5: like it was. It was still sizable, damn. But yeah,
- 45:22Speaker 5: it was one of those like he's like, I've seen
- 45:24Speaker 5: this before. I've never seen anything quite uh this dark
- 45:32Speaker 5: in color because of the infection that it was causing.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Because I was just getting a little because everything I
- 45:37Speaker 5: was spitting up was green, and I'm like, God, there's.
- 45:40Speaker 6: Got to be that.
- 45:40Speaker 5: This has to be this yeah, and he's like, that's
- 45:43Speaker 5: absolutely what it is. They gave me some antibiotics in
- 45:46Speaker 5: and out to probably ten minutes, fifteen minutes. He made
- 45:51Speaker 5: me wait five just so we make sure that I'm
- 45:53Speaker 5: not bleeding again.
- 45:55Speaker 6: And then he checked.
- 45:55Speaker 5: The uh the cutterization that they did, and he's like,
- 46:00Speaker 5: you're good to go. Uh, I don't even think they
- 46:04Speaker 5: admin me, like I don't. I just want to. They're like, Raj,
- 46:07Speaker 5: we know who you are. Come on, what's going on now?
- 46:10Speaker 5: We're still bleeding. I'm like, no, but there's a thing.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Come on back to the champagne room.
- 46:14Speaker 5: But when he took the little little flashlight that he
- 46:18Speaker 5: had and went up into my nose, He's like, oh, yeah,
- 46:21Speaker 5: we we got this cupboard.
- 46:23Speaker 6: And he this is like this was his moment, like
- 46:26Speaker 6: this is why he went to school.
- 46:28Speaker 5: He's like, I fucking got this.
- 46:31Speaker 2: This is this is the discovery I've been waiting a
- 46:34Speaker 2: lifetime for.
- 46:36Speaker 5: All he had to have said is like, talk to me, Goose's.
- 46:42Speaker 2: I have a feeling this thing would talk back.
- 46:44Speaker 6: This was his Maverick moment. Uh that's what look like.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what Goose's brains looked like inside the helmet.
- 46:53Speaker 6: Man.
- 46:54Speaker 2: So, Raj, when this thing got pulled out of your
- 46:56Speaker 2: skull by the doctor, was your girlfriend there?
- 46:59Speaker 6: No? Smart, I just went in real quick. It's right
- 47:02Speaker 6: down the street, So I just uh, I just went
- 47:04Speaker 6: in real quick.
- 47:05Speaker 5: And my buddy John is over there and I've known
- 47:08Speaker 5: him for years, and I'm like, can I just see
- 47:11Speaker 5: the E N T guy?
- 47:12Speaker 6: Real quick? And he's like, let me see if he's available.
- 47:14Speaker 6: And he wasn't doing anything. He was eating lunch. Uh
- 47:18Speaker 6: and yeah.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Lunch after that, Uh, he went back to his lunch.
- 47:22Speaker 5: I almost thought he was going to walk in with
- 47:25Speaker 5: his sandwich, but he put it down and then and
- 47:28Speaker 5: it's like, let me see what's going on.
- 47:30Speaker 2: I guess you got to maintain some level of you know, professionalist.
- 47:34Speaker 5: Yeah, but no, it was real quick. But she was
- 47:38Speaker 5: not there. I showed her the picture. Oh why oh,
- 47:42Speaker 5: because she's a g She's like, what is that? I
- 47:45Speaker 5: was like, that was in my nose. She's like, it's
- 47:47Speaker 5: not there now, is it? And I was like, no,
- 47:49Speaker 5: I mean that.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Was it's on, but it's been there with you.
- 47:53Speaker 5: Yeah, and she's like, that's quote pretty fucking awesome.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Well do yourself, do not show it to your AI girlfriend?
- 48:06Speaker 6: No, she'll delete me.
- 48:11Speaker 2: And rightfully.
- 48:12Speaker 5: So, yeah, that was a I couldn't believe it when
- 48:20Speaker 5: they when it when it popped out, that was Uh.
- 48:25Speaker 6: I didn't know I had that much space.
- 48:27Speaker 2: It needs a name, Steve, can we name it something
- 48:31Speaker 2: other than after my dad? Rush? There it is, that'll work.
- 48:41Speaker 2: I had no idea you had a little rust living
- 48:43Speaker 2: in your nose.
